Preliminary Round: Final Fantasy
Propaganda Below cut
Alisaie
When she first shows up she's wearing matching outfits and wielding matching grimoires with her twin brother, but when she properly joins the game's main cast it becomes clear that she has swordswoman energy so incredibly strong that as a magical prodigy her chosen fighting style is "manifest sword out of aether and then hit people with it." She later simplifies this to merely wielding a sicknasty crystal rapier; As we know, fury and compassionate outrage are more powerful under when concentrated, which makes this tiny elf sword nerd a volatile pressurecooker of heroism. She's here to care about the little guy, make frustrated noises, and charge off to solve and/or cause problems, and truly what else is swordswoman energy about?
She wanted to use a sword so bad she summoned one made of pure magic, before a friend gave her an actual sword because he was worried about the toll summoning a sword made of pure magic was having on her, I love her and her brother so much. One of them is trans (they did the identical but different-gender twins thing). At one point Alisaie mopes because her and her brother didn't get new outfits when everyone else did. She then jumps off of a balcony because she saw an opportunity for adventure. Canonically doesn't like pickles on burgers (she put them on someone else's plate!! the scandal!!)
Lucia
she fights with a sword and shield— very classic paladin flavor. she’s achieved and maintained high ranking status for her combat prowess!; nobody is immune to hot lady knight especially when she is over six feet tall and in full plate armor tbh . easily the hottest defector from the evil empire in xiv. also she can pilot a big robot so that’s automatically a point in her favor imo
Mylla
She's the leader of the gladiator's guild. Gladiators are the class that use swords and shields. She kind of gets sidelined once it upgrades to the Paladin job for a bit, but then they went 'no Mylla and her guild are cooler than these idiots' and did a tournament arc
Lightning
She uses a Gunblade. A sword thats also a gun. Said to be very rare because it takes so much skill to use. Does lots of slashing and backflips. Later becomes Champion of A God and sword fights a guy for eternity. Later becomes champion of a Different god and uses lots of different swords; She is dramatic and has lots of character growth and is awesome.
Agrias
She has the class Holy Knight which enables her to use Holy Sword techniques as long as she has a sword equipped, which pretty much makes her the most powerful swordfighter your party can recruit (with the exception of Cidolfus Orlandeau, who has her skillset plus extra); You meet Agrias at the start of the game, and it's a few chapters before she joins your party permanently during which she gets quite a bit of screentime. This is significant, since Tactics lets you dismiss any character that's not the protagonist, and consequently the story is written to not assume you have any particular character in your party except for guests, meaning Agrias gets more story time than most characters that join your party.
Paine
starts out as a swordfighter with a big sword with a skull design. #girlboss; ffx-2 is a Wild Ride already but that they gave us a goth lesbian with a sword as our third party member was a great choice. i love her and also ffx-2. it's underappreciated.
Terra
Swords are one kind of weapon she can wield. Her ultimate weapon is known as Apocalypse.
Celes
She was turned into a Magitek knight by the Gestahlian Empire which she betrays. Swords are one kind of weapon she can wield. Her ultimate weapon is a sword known as Save the Queen.

@sunnysbright
ok so like i said in the tags. first of all she’s a werewolf so jot that down, i don’t make the rules sorry.
anyways. i really started thinking about this after reblogging this post, and i do think the comparison with airk will help so we’re gonna roll with it. in the bit we see of him in the first episode, airk seems to be a bit of the stereotypical charming, slightly slutty prince that tends to crop up - you know, the kind that’s a bit of a playboy until he finds “the one” and gives that up, blah blah, in this case that person being elora.
however, he does also feel a bit flamboyant in a way not necessarily typical from the rough, macho playboy image. maybe it’s the hair, maybe it’s the slightly translucent shirts with the neckline that shows off half his chest. who knows.
kit, on the other hand, is immediately introduced with a fairly typical “princess rejects the role she was born into and wants to be an adventurer” character, shown through the swordfighting, the anger at the arranged marriage, the not wanting to wear a dress. also from what i remember, it feels like kit has more...expectation placed on her than airk does? again, correct me if i’m wrong, but it very much felt like airk, while met with some disproval from sorsha, was kind of allowed free reign where kit wasn’t, and that difference felt like it was more than the general “princes could kind of fuck around, princesses couldn’t” - especially with the way sorsha treats them both, it feels like kit is expected to have far more duties than airk is.
anyways. the point is, airk doesn’t really fit into the stereotypes of a prince. he’s very close, and does fulfill some of them, but others miss the mark completely...and he’s fine with that. he is comfortable and confident in his body and his personality.
in a way that kit very much isn’t.
this brings us back to my tags on the post i linked above. where airk feels secure in himself and the ways he may or may not defy expectations, kit doesn’t, or at least, not in the same way. she actively defies the expectations placed on her, and she knows that she’s going to catch more heat for it that airk does. maybe it’s me projecting, but through the entire series it still feels like she is struggling against those same expectations - maybe not the ones related to duty anymore, but certainly the ones that relate to the way she projects herself to the world. i think it’s very possible that because being a princess (a girl) tied in so closely to the things that she felt confined her in her life, her rejection of those things also led to somewhat of a rejection of the “girl” part - and now that she is no longer operating under the same constraints, that those specific feelings haven’t necessarily gone away.
again, maybe it’s the clothes. i know a lot of lesbians that are far more confident in jeans and a t-shirt than a tailored dress....but i also know that i am one of those lesbians, and a lot of those lesbians including myself have very complicated relationships with gender.
kit feels better in her training outfit than she does in a gown, and kit feels better out in the woods than in her home (i’ll concede that this is a tough one because of the, you know, horrors, but i do think part of kit’s journey was actually getting rid of the shit she internalized from home in spite of her best efforts).Â
and actually, this DOES connect back to the werewolf thing, look at me! werewolves have long been used as an allegory for...most types of “otherness” that you can think of, including gender, sexuality, religion, etc. i think there’s something a little bit wild in kit that she tried to satisfy in tir asleen with training with jade and riding horses and everything, but it didn’t work, because what she needed was out. i think this same thing MIGHT exist in jade, but if it does it’s a) been kinda dampened by the whole. rigid structure of training for knighthood and b) tied up with the bone reaver thing, and i don’t think this thing exists in airk at all.
ask me how i feel abt airk being taken instead of kit next lol
someone ask me about my thoughts on kit’s gender i’m gonna go crazy
#willow#kit tanthalos#airk tanthalos#gender#also feel free to debate or ask for clarification on any of this lol#kit x jade#ALSO KIT WOULD MAKE A GOOD DRAG KING PROVE ME WRONG

Examples of tgirl swag in The Locked Tomb so far
Pyrrha Dve. Obviously has it now she's actually been hit by the necromantic transgenderification ray, but had it before despite actually being cis. It's why Augustine was so horny for her.
Ianthe Tridentarius. Sorry folks, but I'm right. You know what I'm talking about. Wet Rat Girls With Powerful Autism, Unite. Tried to cut her own arm off because it didn't work right and nobody else was helping her. That's just like DIY HRT, except more likely to stain the carpet. Wears filmy rainbow stuff.
Camilla Hect. Described as having a surprisingly deep voice. Loads of weapons. Autistic as fuck. Knows deep down why the Warden is the one "cis guy" who seems to get her, but isn't pushing on that because people have to figure things out in their own time. Doesn't dress especially girly but never gets misgendered because she's just Like That.
Coronabeth Tridentarius. As discussed in a previous post, is an example of the rarely-seen Lesbian Faggot, a group commonly known to possess tgirl swag. Clockycore aesthetic makes Ianthe cringe a tiny bit inside.
Anastasia. Goth scientist girl. Enough said.
Examples of tboy swag in The Locked Tomb so far:
Matthias Nonius. Actual trans icon. Short king. Fought Gideon the First in a battle I can only assume was charged with sexual tension the whole time (while Pyrrha watched from G1d's subconscious smoking a mind-cigarette). Had Ortus the Ninth acting unwise.
Samael Novenary. Just something about that name screams it. Also he fought with a chain. Goth tboy legend. Wore platform boots to make him taller than Anastasia because it gave both of them gender euphoria.
Naberius Tern. I know, he's a piece of shit, but he's a fancy piece of shit with a pompadour and flashy outfits who can embroider as well as he can swordfight. Comparatively rare example of a cis boy with tboy swag.
Teacher. This old motherfucker must've done something to get tasked with looking after a bunch of dysfunctional baby queers. His whole vibe is "I transitioned when your parents were knee high, there is no drama you young folks can get into that will shock me". Cassiopeia the First looked at possible bodies for the 100+ souls she was trying to find a single home for and went "no, we need the MOST tranpa dude imaginable".
Honourable mention: Palamedes Sextus. Pal is something even rarer than a cis boy with tboy swag. Our buddy Sex Pal is a closeted trans woman who trans dudes interpret as having tboy swag because there's something about them that says "this person is shaped like a friend".

Lupita Fernandez (full profile) - WIP
A few things are left in blank, but other than that, here’s Lupita’s profile! :D
Basics Name: MarĂa Guadalupe Fernández Nicknames: Lupita (she likes to go by this name), Lupe (her little sister calls her this often) Age:  15 (actually 101) Gender: Female Ethnicity: Mexican Birthplace: Arizona, USA Current Residence: Wherever the Hunters go Height: 5' 3" Weight: Blood Type: A+ Birthday: May 11th, 1912 Zodiac: Taurus Eye Color: Hazel Hair Color: Black Physical Description (be at least a little detailed): Maria is a short young girl. She has a deep tan skin, skinny arms and legs, a heart-shaped face with hazel eyes, thin lips, and a button nose. Her wavy black hair is cut short, bobbed-styled, and ends just below her ears.
Personality
Traits: Outgoing, Cheerful/Humorous, Independent/Confident, Caring, Dramatic, Liar, Irresponsible.
Outgoing: Lupita is very outgoing, she talks to anyone and everyone.
Cheeful/Humorous: Lupita loves having a good time with her friends. She enjoys a good laugh, and anyone can hear her laughter from far away. She hates being in a bad mood, or seeing her friends in a bad mood, or even being in a negative space, she'll always find a way to cheer herself, and people around her, up (whether cracking a joke, or dragging her friends to a party/carnival/festival). If all else fails, she'll simply go elsewhere to have a fun time.
Independent/Confident: During a time where women didn't have much of a voice, and were supposed to have a much more submissive attitude, Lupita was the complete opposite. She likes taking charge, and putting matters into her own hands in order to get the things she wants. She likes to do things on her own and will rarely ask for help, if anything, she'll completely avoid asking for help. Also, Lupita isn't afraid to speak her mind. If she has something to say, she'll say it, whether they liked it or not. Of course, she would get herself into trouble because of it, but that didn't stop her "putting some sense into their minds", as she would say.
Caring: Lupita is a very caring person. She cares deeply about her mother, her sister, and her friends. Towards her mother, she would care a lot about her well-being, and would help around the house whenever her mother wasn't feeling well. As for her sister, Consuelo, Lupita was very motherly-like towards her. She loved her sister very much, and would do anything for her. And for her friends, she considered them family, and would always let them know that she was there for them, for anything. She'll gladly help her friends in their time of need, and will give advice if she thinks it's need (which is most of the time).
Liar: After constantly sneaking out of the house to go to parties/movies, Lupita learned to lie like it's nothing. But more often than not, her lies will backfire.
Irresponsible: Lupita is kind of irresponsible. When it comes to Consuelo, she will protect her at all costs, but besides that, she's not really good at dealing with responsibility, as well as making good decisions for herself, and for those around her (ex: whenever she was in charge of looking after her sister while her parents were away, and there happened to be a party she really wanted to go to, she would bring her sister along with her. But most of the time, she would end up getting caught, and getting into deep trouble with her parents, especially her step-father).
Dramatic: Lupita is a Drama Queen. She will blow things out of proportion if she's in an argument, and will make a scene out of everything. If anything, she's borderline melodramatic.
Fears: Getting lost, the unknown (post-Lost Hotel & Casino); ghost stories, horror movies, monsters (prior to being trapped in the Lotus hotel, though she still fears them).
Favorite Food: Chicken and rice
Favorite Drink: Coca-Cola
Favorite Scent: Flowers
Favorite Movie: "It" (1927, starring Clara Bow), and Charlie Chaplin movies
Favorite Song:
Favorite Band/Singer:
Favorite Time of Year: Summer
Favorite Time of Day: Night
Best Subject (Camp): Archery
Best Subject (School): Caligraphy
Worst Subject (Camp): Swordfighting
Worst Subject (School): Math
Family/Friends
Mother: Maria Dolores Fernandez (neé Rodriguez)
Father: Dionysus
Step-Parent: Antonio Manuelo Fernandez
Siblings: Consuelo Fernandez (age 8)
Closest Friends (Camp): The Hunters of Artemis
Closest Friends (Outside): Fatima Lopez
Boy/Girlfriend: none
Past Relationships: She dated a few guys from her town, but they were never serious.
Battle
Weapon: Silver bow and arrow
Style: Archery
Strengths: Speed, stealth, leadership
Weaknesses: Patience, teamwork (but she starts to work better in a team once she joins the Hunters of Artemis)
Abilities (if any): Â (please don't over-do it) She has the ability to create illusions, but its strength depends on the person she's using it on, like the more scared or tired person/monster is in battle, the more stronger and believable her illusions are.
Fatal Flaw: Cowardice.
Background:
Maria (Lupita's mother) met Dionysus at a local fair. She didn't know who he really was since he was disguised as a regular mortal, and she couldn't see through the Mist. After several encounters with him, Maria found out she was pregnant, and when her parents found out, they immediately arranged a wedding with their neighbor's son, Antonio. Maria then gave birth to Lupita on May 11, 1912.
Lupita was very mischievous, constantly skipping school to watch movies, or to go to parties with her friends. Her biggest dream was to travel the world and become an actress, and after one terrible night--when she accidentally found out about her mother's affair with Dionysus (she didn't know it was him at the time), and ran away from home--she met a young man promising her that he would make her a star, and travel the world. Excited, Lupita went along with him, but once they reached Nevada, the man left her without a trace (taking her money with him as well (which wasn't enough). Feeling lost and betrayed, Lupita wandered aimlessly throughout the state until she reached Las Vegas, where she came across the Lotus Hotel and Casino. Having no place to go (and tired of sleeping on the streets, with barely anything to eat), she checked in. She had originally planned to stay there for a week or so, until she could figure out a way to make money to get to Hollywood, but instead, she was trapped in there, unknowingly, for more than a century.
A hundred years later, Lupita was found and rescued by two demigods on a quest, and was immediately sent to Camp Half-Blood. As soon as she left the building, Lupita felt an immediate culture-shock. She was startled, amazed, and scared all at once when she saw tall skyscrapers, fast moving cars, and millions of people walking to and fro, dressed in outfits she'd never seen before, and holding up small, and very thin, rectangular boxes she would later learn to be smartphones.
As they reached camp, she was given the demigod lecture, and was told about her true heritage. She also met her real father, Dionysus, and was claimed on the spot. But even though she was given fully detailed explanations about what happened, Lupita still felt shocked about the whole situation. She hated it. She wanted to leave and go back home, but a deep, bitter feeling told her she couldn't anymore. She was stuck in the wrong time period, whether she liked it or not.
However, after the events of "The Last Olympian", Lupita met the Huntresses of Artemis, including Artemis herself, and immediately asked to join them. She realized that since she couldn't go back in time, and didn't want to stay in the current time period, she would might as well roam along through time with the huntresses. With them, she felt she would finally be in a place where she truly belonged, along with other people who were also in situations similar to her's. She could connect with them, she could relate to them easily. With that, Artemis accepted her request, and Lupita became one with the Hunters.
