Bunnix shows up in Marinette's bedroom when it's already dark outside.
Marinette knows what the older heroine is about to ask the second she hears the burrow open. When Bunnix greets her, Marinette is hyperventilating. Instead of exchanging pleasantries, she asks:
- Is it... him again?
Bunnix has a grim expression on her face, yet shakes her head. Marinette exhales. She has another question.
- Is it something I did?
- No. I'm sorry I'm asking this from you again. I'm sorry there will be no answers yet.
- It's okay. I am ready.
At first Ladybug thinks she is on another planet. Another dimension, even. There are cloud fractals in the sky. There is a street light growing out of another one, growing out of another one, growing out of another one... Trees are huge and have so many leaves they are almost a solid green mass. Some buildings are so tall they go way past the clouds in a curvy line. It reminds her of the Jack and the Beanstalk fairytale her mom used to read her before bed.
The roads branch out like blood vessels, getting smaller with each separation, ending in dead ends near the buildings or growing vertically on top of the walls.
The whole city almost looks like it could move at any second. It almost looks alive.
As Ladybug progresses through the streets (if she can even call them that), she finally realizes where the people are.
At least, what's left of them.
Infinite growth apparently works on humans, too. She never thought she'd be so thankful to see somebody not move.
The silence makes her ears ring. Everything is quiet, except for some mechanical sounds the structures make, not really meant to support their own weight in this new form.
Then, she hears laughter.
A girl with hair so long she's not sure where it ends is frantically pacing around the roof, her body movements jittery and odd. As the camera of the heroine's yo-yo focuses on the akuma, helping seek out where the cursed butterfly is hiding, Ladybug realizes the dress this girl is wearing is not grey.
It's is covered in trillions of colourful tiny dots of different shapes and sizes. They seem jittery too, as if trying to move, but some force is making them stay together. This feels like standing up after lying down for too long. Looking at the pattern for too long makes her head hurt
Ladybug continues hiding. She takes her time looking for clues. At this point she's not really sure if the girl is actually laughing or this is a weird hysterical cry. Sometimes the akuma starts muttering under her nose, too quiet to make out most of the words. Ladybug is pretty sure she heard the girl say "I can fix this" a few times though. She shifts to hear the words better.
The akuma turns around
This is the hardest she's ever fought. Chat Blanc feels like child's play now.
While the villain almost looks out of breath, long hair going everywhere, Ladybug is still barely able to keep up.
The air is too dense with oxygen.
The girl has a yo-yo as a weapon, in a cruel twist of irony. And she's damn good with it. Yet, she clearly hesitates in using the thing, saving it as a last resort to escape.
Ladybug tries to reason with the akumatized victim.
- Wait! Please, let me help you!
- You don't understand, - the girl looks around frantically, - I have to fix this! I need to fix this!
Villain's grey yo-yo starts to glow white and she throws it at a fire hydrant, making it grow another one on top.
The akuma was inside the earring. Ladybug was hit by the yo-yo. She doesn't have the time to think as she casts Miraculous cure, just before her brain registered the pain fully.
She'll remember the way it looked when she closes her eyes though.
The streets go back to normal. Her body is normal. Ladybug turns around and meets the eyes of
herself
Marinette sits on the ground, horrified. But before Ladybug can talk to her Bunnix appears and she has to go.
Bunnix doesn't say anything as they walk through the burrow, but she's pretty sure the older heroine is holding her shoulder softer than ever before.
They didn't change anything. They didn't fix anything after they came back, no scoldings, no erasing her name from anywhere, nothing. Marinette is growing more paranoid at every turn, expecting to get akumatized. Her conflict avoidance is at all times high. She's withdrawing from her friends.
Nobody is near when Hawkmoth himself shows up in the middle of the night and she has to transform. He senses her distress immediately.
This is just too easy.
The butterfly lands in her earring just as she started to call for a last effort Lucky Charm.
"Creatomachia, this is Hawkmoth. You are overwhelmed with every problem creating a million smaller ones. Things seem to stack on top of each other and just never end. I'll give you the power to fix everything. In return, you will give me your and Chat Noir's miraculous."
For a split second, everything is white.

"Dragon-lady" - Jien YueXia

I think it was about time to fully show Jien's design and also her updated dragon form too! I never posted the full refs on here, maybe I should have though - but it doesn't matter. I have updated her reference on the left recently to match how she looks now, mainly some color changes and her horns shape. The dragon form on the right was drawn just the other night and honestly, I am super proud of how it came out.
I do have a ramble prepared on how her dragon form works, so I'm leaving that under the cut for anyone that is interested :) <3
Tbh I wish to cosplay her one day, I already had her horns 3d printed and painted so that's one thing out of the way! Man I love her horns so much AEEEEE
Dragon-form ramble:
Jien’s dragon form is quite a specific use of her power and as it takes quite a lot of focus and strength to pull up Jien doesn’t really tend to use it - although the main reason she almost never uses it is because she was never in such dire need either. The dragon form itself looks real, it produces heat,it “bleeds” gold, it behaves like any other organic organism, but in truth that is much more complicated. A fleshy mechanical puppet would be a more appropriate term for this form as Jien, as a human, is locked away inside its chest, moving the thing around. There are fine lines and sheens of gold over the beast that can be passed off as scales and the coloring of the animal, but those are actually “seams” of Jien’s work. Something like Albedo’s mark on his neck, and in technical sense (to shorten this ramble and make understanding of it more easy) the dragon is like a Titan to a titan shifter (Attack on Titan).
If the dragon is hurt in any way, Jien doesn’t feel it herself, although she knows it happens to her. Jien has some wiggle room in there and the space is rather padded and built to endure any form of jostling and hits, the plates on the outside of the dragon spread out any impact. One downside is that, if enough hits are dealt to one area, the area can begin to harden. So Jien is especially careful to not take many hits to the chest area of the dragon, otherwise getting out of the beast later would be quite difficult.
Upon exiting the dragon form, the dragon will disappear rather quickly, and blank pages of paper will remain, some torn and some intact. 
When it comes to sound, do you know how the bronze bull works? Dragon roars for Jien’s dragon form would be produced something like that too. Through the long neck of the dragon her voice is converted into lower frequency sounds of a dragon roar, accompanied by the slight tone of shuffling papers and other clicking sounds. She can still speak in dragon form, but her voice would be slightly distorted and have a lower tone. Going back to the dragon roar, due to the distance from the chest of the dragon and to the maws, the sound of a roar is quite haunting and eerie, uncanny almost, and it basically passes through you if you’re around to hear it.

Hello The Legend of Zelda Fandom. Here's a little idea i'd like to run by you and get your opinion on.
So recently i've been struck by an idea for a new Zelda game:

So here are a couple of ideas on how the game could work(sorry for any spelling mistakes):
Title: LEGO The Legend of Zelda The Video Game
1.Inspired by: The lord of the rings, The Hobbit, Lego marvel superheroes 2, dc super villains, Hyrule Warriors, Echoes of Wisdom
2.Story: Typical TLOZ story. Bad guy(idk who) kidnaps princess, Hero must save her but is too weak. So he goes to dungeons to collect items that make him strong. Hero fights avatar of evil couple of times. Then hero travels to bad gus domain to fight him. Hero fights bad guy. Bad guy is defeated. Princess is saved.(5-7 levels)
However after bad guy is defeated some strange things start to appear. Time-Space rifts appear across the land.
3.Mechanics/Abilities: -Equipment mechanic is based on the one from Lord of the rings, however there is a possibility of collecting materials. -Music abilities - there are places in levels and on map where characters with music items/skills can access them, for example: OOT link can use ocarina, WW Link can use windwaker, Malon can sing, TP Link in his wolf form can whistle, TP Hero's Shade in his wolf form can whistle, etc. Or i could change this so only a small number of characters can access them -Sheikah slate panels - characters with sheikah slate can access them, for example BOTW/TOTK Link and Zelda, Purah, etc. -"Detective mode" - characters with animal abilities can find foot prints and other similiar things(just like wolverine in Lego MSH), for example TP link in his wold form. -Masks - just like in majora's mask, some characters can use them to have different effect on enemies/npc's. -Time abilities - some characters, mainly Hero of Time, can sent objects through time to unlock other areas or on special pedestals or through songs can travel through time (just like in Lego Dimensions) to the same area but in the past or future.
-Stealth abilities - OOT Zelda(just like Peter Parker in Lego MSH) can change to Sheik, in other words she can access stealth mode. Some masks allow to do the same.
4.Map: During the first levels the map of Hyrule is semi-open, some parts are story locked. After time-space rifts appear there are sky islands from Skyward sword and Tears of the kingdom. In water part of the map there are islands from windwaker. There is a majora's moon in the sky and other famous locations from previous instalments.
5.Characters: -Link - New original design, every link from previous games -Zelda - New original design, every zelda from previous games -Main evil Bad guy of the game -Ganondorf - every version from previous games -Vati -Shadow link -Zora -Rito -Gorons -Sheikah -Sheik -Kokiri -Koroks -ETC
6.Transport: -Horse - epona, or any other horse -Ship - Windwaker, Phantom hourglass - ships from those games -Train - Spirit Tracks - only in some areas -Loftwings - Skyward Sword -Glider - Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom - It's possible to change the design in character creator, inspired by Lego Batman glider animation.
7.miscellaneous: -Red bricks are replaced by Treasure chests, sound is also replaced with classical Zelda chest opening sound -There is an option just like in Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga to turn on/of mumble mode, however this does not affect Link type characters, in other worlds all Hero's of courage will speak in traditional mumble voice even when option is turned off. -Studs have been replaced by ruppes, however the shape remains the same. -Collecting all on the level Minikits grants a new character(just like in Lego SW3) or creates a miniature version of a scene/land(just like in Lego LOTR). -Charcter creator is based on the ones from Lego Marvel superheroes 2 or Lego DC's super villians. -There are map easter eggs - You can find Skeleton in armor near the tree(nod to TP hero's shade and hero of time),master sword as well as Four sword, white-green-red lego studs that represent minish, etc. -The story of the game could hypothetically explain how timelines merged -etc.

Your super solider boyfriend spends basically every night in your apartment, at first you thought holding onto your own place was for the best, especially considering your own history with shield, but something changes your mind.

It’s pitch black, the room that Y/N is so familiar with is almost unrecognisable, with all her furniture drenched in shadows, forming strange shapes against the back drop of the smooth, solid walls.
She blinks, hand reaching under her pillow, fingers gripping the cold metal of the knife that Bucky had insisted she keep there.
Just a precaution, doll. Incase someone comes’ lookin’ for me.
Something stops her from pulling it out from it’s hiding place, though. Maybe it was the way the figure looming by the end of her bed hadn’t moved towards her, maybe it was the way that despite it’s large frame, it seemed to be bowing it’s head to appear smaller before her, or maybe it was the low, mechanical sound that seemed to be coming from it’s arm.
“Bucky?” she asks, unsure and confused, “Buck, what the hell are you doing?”
He’d fallen asleep on the couch. She’d tucked him in, and come to bed hoping he’d manage to rest.
The silhouette takes a calculated step towards the bed, coming to a stop before his legs can touch the wooden frame.
“I… I woke up” he murmurs, quietly, “I… I was in the other room”
Y/N nods, letting the knife go, and sitting herself up a little straighter.
Her fingers find the switch that control the small lamp on the side table, it flickers on, lighting the room with a dim orange glow.
Bucky is stock still, the thick knitted blanket she’d wrapped around his body is now hanging from his shoulders, his flesh fingers clutching it around his chest, like a cape.
His hair is a dishevelled tangle, and his expression seems awfully muddled, with his blue eyes shining from behind a few stray curls.
“yeah, sweetheart” she agrees, “You fell asleep watchin’ TV, I didn’t want to wake you, you don’t sleep enough as it is.”
She watches his lips quirk downwards, an unhappy frown settling onto his face as he blinks down to the ground with an obedient nod.
Her head tilts as she watches the man she loves continuing to stare down at his feet, unmoving.
A few minutes pass, Y/N opens her mouth to speak, but Bucky cuts her off, brow furrowing nervously,
“I’m sorry, I- I shouldn’t have come in here”
A disbelieving laugh bubbles up past Y/N’s lips before she can swallow it down.
“What are you talking about?” she asks, “Baby, I invited you, you’re not exactly trespassing, remember?”
There’s a lilt of teasing in her tone, but Bucky doesn’t respond to it. In fact, he doesn’t respond at all.
Y/N lets another beat pass, before she decides that she can’t stand the way he’s standing like he’s waiting for some kind of judgement. It makes her feel a little uneasy when she realises that that’s probably exactly what he’s doing.
“Come on” she presses, voice soft, “Come lie down”
He moves slowly, like he’s in some kind of dream.
She watches as a whole minute ticks by on the clock, he finally finishes the journey that should only have taken him 15 seconds, coming to a halt by the side of the bed.
He looks at her cautiously, before blinking down at the sheets, and then eventually back to her face.
“What’s the matter?” she asks softly, seeing the apprehension clinging to his features, “It’s alright”
Her tone softens, she pulls the top cover back and away, so that he can slip in beside her,
Bucky’s head drops in something that she thinks looks an awfully lot like defeat, or maybe it’s more like surrender, as he starts to lower himself onto the surface.
One of his hands is still grasping the knitted cover he’s donning, the other, seems to be being very deliberately kept away from her body.
When he does settle into position beside her, she sees that he’s terrified. Any of the previous emotions she’d been able to read on his face have evaporated, leaving nothing but blatant fear behind.
“Bucky” Y/N croons, trying to soothe him, “Are you okay?”
His head turns to face her, even though his back stays rod straight on the mattress. His nostrils flare, and the sound of metal against metal is very real, even though it’s being dampened by the sheets that she’s pulled back over his chest.
“I… I’m sorry” he whispers, both fists clenching, “I- I… I shouldn’t… I… I should’ve stayed where you left me.”
Where you left me.
There’s something about the way he says that, that breaks her heart.
She reaches out slowly, fingers curling over his cheek.
“Please” Bucky whimpers, flinching as she touches him, “Please don’t hurt me”
He knows he deserves it. He knows he shouldn’t have moved without permission, but Y/N has always been safe, she’s probably the person he loves the mosts in the world, and god, he trusts her, and if she was to finally snap, to lose her patience he’s certain it would break him completely-
“Baby” she murmurs voice horrified, “Baby, of course I’m not going to hurt you, I’d never hurt you… never… I promise”
“I’m sorry” he repeats, because it’s all he can think to say, “I… I’m sorry”
Y/N lets her palm flatten over his cheek, she strokes her thumb under his eyes as he closes them, reluctantly letting himself relax into the contact.
“What would make you think I would, huh?”
His lower lip is trembelling, he sucks in a breath and gulps.
“I moved” he says, voice breaking, as though he’s making a dangerous confession, it strikes her suddenly that it probably would have been just that, once, “I… I moved from where you-”
“Is that what’s frightening you?” she murmurs, tone kind, hand still hot against his face, “That you moved without permission?”
Bucky gives her a small nod, and braces for a slap despite the softness of her tone.
“Oh, sweetheart”
His hole body is tense, his vibranium arm whines with some kind of unseen strain, as she hushes him lightly, edging her hips out towards him.
“I… I shouldn’t… I…” he mumbles, “I…I…”
“You” Y/N soothes, “Don’t need permission to come and find me, okay? You’ve got it, you’ve always got it.”
Suddenly, his eyes are wide and on her again, shining in the dim light of the room.
He likes that, she notes, he likes being told he’s allowed to do things, now.
“Alright?” Bucky hears her continue, “You haven’t done anything wrong, I promise- and even if you had, it wouldn’t matter, nobody, nothing, is going to hurt you, again.”
His chest settles a little at her assurances, he knows that she wouldn’t lie, that she wouldn’t try and trick him into a false sense of security to make some kind of torment worse. He wonders if maybe she’ll be able to tell him… if she’ll be able to tell him where he should be now, he… he doesn’t know… he… he doesn’t know where his place is, and he thinks that maybe she can tell him.
“Can… Can I ask you something?”
Y/N thinks he sounds petrified, more blatantly afraid then she’d seen him in a long time.
“Sure you can, Bucky, you can ask me anything you want.”
He drops his gaze submissively, he swallows against the lump in his throat, and using the intense love he has for the woman he’s with to gain the courage to speak.
“Do… do you know… do you know where I should be, now?” he asks, voice barely a whisper, “I- I don’t, I don’t know where my place is, anymore…”
A sob tightens his throat. He locks his jaw, and waits for her answer, for her to send him away somewhere, to tell him to go somewhere on his own, despite that, that is the last thing he wants. He doesn’t get what he wants, anyway. He shouldn’t even be wanting anything.
“Your place” Y/N repeats, own eyes stinging with tears, “Your place is right here, sweetheart… your place is with me”
That sounds too good to be true. Bucky’s head snaps up, hope pulling another breath from his lungs.
“With you?” he parrots, ready to be corrected, to be told he’s misunderstood, “I… I can stay with you?”
“Always” Y/N confirms, surrendering to the urge to hold him, to reach out and take the shaking figure into her arms, “You can always stay with me.”
Bucky whimpers, the pathetic sound escaping his lips before he can grit his teeth. He allows himself to be scooped up into her merciful embrace, he almost starts to cry when his face meets her shoulder, and her hands start to rub his back, even though the contact is dampened by the heavy fabric blanket his clinging too.
“I was on my own” he croaks, “I thought I’d done something wrong… I- I thought I must’ve done, for… for you to leave me… but- but I- I couldn’t…I couldn’t remember”
Y/N shakes her head, guilt overcoming her for a moment as she pieces together what his thought process must’ve been like, how scared he must’ve been, coming round in her living room, not being sure of why he’s alone, now, when she’d been there when he’d closed his eyes-
“Oh, Bucky… I’m sorry, I’ll wake you next time, or I’ll stay with you” she promises, feeling his chest start to heave against her, “I didn’t know, I- I didn’t think you’d mind comin’ round, and slippin’ in with me”
“I…I… I thought you must’ve been up-upset with me” Bucky hears himself confess, nose burning with tears, “I didn’t mean to… if- if I did somethin’ wrong, doll, I- I di-didn’t mean too”
He starts sobbing then, words being swallowed up by desperate, childish cries that he tries to muffle with her body.
It makes Y/N’s soul ache, hearing him, seeing him in so much pain, it’s ebbing away from him in waves, he’s gulping and simpering, and trying his best to stop, to calm down, but it’s obvious he can’t,
“I didn’t mean to leave you anywhere” she tells him softly, reaching over to stroke his jaw, brushing his temple as he continues to come apart against her front, “I won’t do that again, I promise, you haven’t done anything wrong, sweetheart, I’m not upset with you, I love you so much.”
The genuinity behind her words helps Bucky breathe a little deeper, it tugs him out of his own head for just long enough for him to release the blanket he’s been holding against his chest. His flesh knuckles cracking at the shift in position
Y/N wastes no time in reaching over to lace her fingers through his, bringing his hand up to place kisses across the grazes still marring them, even though the bruises on them from training are starting to fade to a dim yellow, as opposed to the hideous purple they’d been all day she can’t help but think they look awfully sore.
“Oh, Buck” she coos affectionately, “I’ve got you, come on, calm down for me”
His chin lifts a fraction in response to the praise in her tone, his eyes find hers, and even though he can barely make out her features through the tears still clouding his vision, the sight of her still settles him.
“I love you” he whimpers breathlessly, trying his best to speak clearly “I…I…I o-only fell asleep because y-you were with me, Y/N/N… It- it’s been so long since I’ve slept more than a couple of hours”
“I know” Y/N is quick to assure him, “I know you’re exhausted, it’s alright, it’s gonna be okay”
As Bucky blinks, he feels his eyes overflowing, leaving cold streaks down his already dampened cheeks. He hates it, he hates the feeling against his skin.
“It’s all gonna be alright” she whispers, pecking the back of his hand, before using her free palm to dry his face, “You’re okay”
“I d-do t-try” he swears, breathes still rattling, words almost a cough “I- I just… I can’t”
Y/N hushes him, letting him bury his face in her shoulder as he tries in vain to make himself calm down.
“I know you try” she tells him, feeling him squeezing her fingers, “I always know you’re trying, Buck, you always do your best”
He thinks that sounds like she’s praising him, again, his own chest flutters happily at the mere possibility of having earned it some how.
“It- it- oh, oh god,- it’s you, you’re-youre the only thing that makes it easier”
She cards his hair back, releasing his hand, despite the way he whines in response to the loss-
“Come’re, darling” she murmurs, voice hot against his brow, “you’ve got me, I’m right here”
Bucky hears himself sniffing as he’s guided impossibly closer towards her body, the desperate, shame-filled noises that he can’t swallow down slipping past his lips, loudening until his whole front is pressed tightly to Y/N’s chest, and her arms are looped firmly across his back, holding him in place, stroking any bits of skin she can reach to quiet him.
He can barely breathe, his own hands reach out cautiously, like there’s a chance of them being swatted away as they wrap around her waist.
Y/N kisses the top of his head, hushing him softly as he finally lets himself hold on to her skin.
“How about I come stay with you for a while?” she offers carefully, hoping he’s aware enough to understand her, “y’know I wouldn’t mind comin’ up to the tower for a couple of days, or you know you can always stay here?”
Bucky’s head is reeling, everything is foggy, his body aches and his heart is pounding against his ribs. The only thing he’s sure of is he needs to be close to Y/N, that he needs to hold on, to keep her safe, and with him, because he loves her, he loves her so much, and that frantic kind of devotion is what gives him the bravery he needs to nod. To mutter an urgent, humiliating plea for her to come back to the tower with him before he can think too much about how pathetic it might make him sound.
“I don’t talk ‘bout anythin’ other than you” he chokes, “I- I drive Steve mad and- and- Sam, Sam says I’m-I must… I must annoy the shit out of ya’ doll, always, always wantin- wantin’ you so close-b-but I- I didn’t-I didn’t have anyone for-for so long” he gulps, “a-and then… and then-I I met you an-and you, you were so pa-patient with- with me and I-I adore ya’ and-and I- I need ya’- I- I’ll give ya- space-I-”
“-Bucky-” Y/N interrupts, knowing his urgent rambling is only going to get less coherent, “I love you, you don’t need to worry ‘bout giving me space”
He lets himself slip into silence, eyes fluttering open for a second, even though he can’t see anything other than the black mess of her hair.
“You’re such a sweetheart” she murmurs, “you’ve gotta try and remember that you’re not on your own anymore”
Bucky’s chest deflates, shoulders sagging as she trails her nails across the base of his neck.
“I-I-II” he stammers, “I-I- didn’t… for… for so long it- I- I wasn’t… I- I didn’t have any-anybody…”
“and now you do” Y/N inserts, voice stable where his is shaking, “and I’m goin’ to do whatever I can to look after you, but you’ve got to let me, you’ve got to tell me if you’re havin’ a hard time”
She feels him nodding against her chest, hair brushing her throat as his fingers furl against the bare skin of her hips,
“I… I’m tired, sugar” Bucky hears himself confess, “I’m so tired”
Y/N feels her heart strings straining, she feels her arms tightening around his shoulders in a way that is totally protective, fingers lacing together in the thick mess of hair that’s hanging low and heavy across his neck,
“I-I’m just, I’m scared, bec-because I know, I know it’s gonna be too much for you” he whispers, “It- its too much for me… so- so for you, it- when you see, when… when you realise-it-it’s gonna-I’m gonna be too much, an-and you’re gonna leave me”
The way that his admission is so stable, is worse than if he’d been mumbling his fears in terror, she thinks, it’s more painful to realise that he’s torturing himself this way, that he’s resigned himself to her leaving him, like it’s something inevitable.
Her head shakes, tears stinging behind her eyes.
“Oh, Sweetheart” she soothes, “You really think I’m gonna’ up and leave ya?”
Bucky pulls back a fraction, vision still so blurred that he decides keeping them downcast isn’t much of a loss.
“Look at me” he hears Y/N coo, pulling his gaze upwards anyway, “That’s not going to happen, I promise, I’m not goin’ anywhere”
He blinks, trying to focus on her face, on the familiar, beautiful woman who he’s clinging too, like his grip on reality depends on it. He thinks absentmindedly that it might.
“I know they kept you alone for a long time” she whispers, thumbs slipping round to stroke his cheeks, “I know you weren’t allowed anythin’ like this, Buck- I know you’re still a little scared that everything’s goin’ to disappear.”
That’s all true, barely a minute passes where he doesn’t worry that he’s going to suddenly wake up, back in a cell, strapped to a chair, screaming for mercy that isn’t ever going to come.
Tears melt against her fingers, they drip off his nose, as he keeps his eyes on her, like she’s asked him too.
“But I’m not goin’ anywhere” she promises, “I’ll come to the tower, I’ll stay as long as you need me too, okay? I’ll talk to Tony- I’m sure he can find some work for me to do down in the labs, somethin’ so I can earn my keep”
He goes to shake his head, but her palms fall to his jaw, holding him steady, stopping him from objecting, from telling her how he’s not going to let her work when she’s already going to be leaving her home for him,
“You” she murmurs, kissing his brow, “are what’s important right now, you, are my priority, Bucky, the rest is…it’s all flexible, alright?”
Bucky shakes his head, instinct making him reject her words despite the way his soul is keening out in response to them, in response to the genuinity behind them.
“I can’t ask… I can’t ask you to do that, doll” Bucky whispers, eyes shutting again as his brow furrows, “I love ya’, so much, you… you do so much for me already, you-”
“You don’t have to ask” she cuts in, smiling softly at him in the dim light of the room, “I love you too, you’ve got to let me take care of you”
He surrenders with a guilt ridden sigh. He knows he’s not going to argue, he knows deep down, that she’s right, that he needs her, but that doesn’t make him feel any less pathetic, especially when he hears himself sniffling, sore, red nose buried back in the crook of her neck, despite the way that, that position makes it harder for him to take full breathes.
“Get some rest now, sweetheart” Y/N suggests calmly, hands making easy work of stroking his hair back from his sweat dampened brow, “I’m not going anywhere without ya’, I promise”
Bucky offers her a feeble nod of agreement, his fingers furl in the fabric of her top, as he tries his best to obey, to clear his mind and sleep, even if he doubts he’ll manage to stay unconscious for long, with the adrenaline that’s still rushing through his veins.

Cuz I'm weird like that and I've had this for a while. Also I shaded that drawing of her from my last post and I feel annoying posting it again but I needed a coloured image of her that doesn’t look fucked up because I can’t consistently draw her face right.

Tamaki Kitagawa 珍亀 北川
The first character in her name means rare, the second means turtle, third (or first in her family name) means north and the last one means river.
Innate technique: Mould
There are three states of mould (all of which branch off from the actual word mould)
Sculpt which is a state of cursed energy that can shape other people's cursed energy. While in sculpt mode it can only be used to shape (or mould hahaha) cursed energy, it's pretty much impossible to exorcise a cursed spirit since they're made of cursed energy.
Blueprint which creates an information graph of other people's cursed energy and techniques through contact. Like the six eyes but with contact. Obviously it doesn't work on people like Toji or awakened Maki. The user can also make their own blueprints from scratch or from adjusting previously existing blueprints. Too much information from the blueprints can give you a headache and possibly permanent brain damage. It works like computer memory, you can optimise a blueprint by deleting unnecessary stuff while keeping around about the same level of quality. She could change the way a blueprint is registered in her mind but she’ll have to either manually change her old ones to match or make a blueprint to do it all for her.
Mould which is the culmination of these two states, using blueprints as moulds (haha get it? I'm so cringe) and sculpt to shape them into the moulds. It'll only work in battle if the opponent is two grades below the user, which sucks considering the technique can't even be used to exorcise curses in its base form, and only work on the recipient if they're the same grade or below as the user if they're willing to. This can be used to change a cursed spirit into another cursed spirit if their grade is the same or higher than the curse the user wants to turn them into. Theoretically she could give herself multiple techniques but she'd end up with major brain damage so she'd need a medium to put those techniques onto (like Rika for Yuta's copy technique).
It sounds weird but imagine having the knowledge to build a shelf in your head compared to having an actual shelf in your head. You can't fit a shelf in your head without destroying your brain to make room for it.
Since she can’t use the techniques of other people, she wears a bracelet of reshaped curses, semi-first grades or above to apply cursed techniques onto so she can utilise them in battle. Of course, when a sorcerer has any kind of jewellery it’s usually safe to assume it’s cursed for the purpose of aiding the wearer so it’s better for her to shape her curses as weapons so people will just assume it’s an ordinary cursed weapon since the ones with techniques are expensive as hell and why would a high schooler even have that unless they're part of a well known clan.
She can manipulate others' cursed energy and by extension use their technique through their body but her cursed technique is contact based so she has to be touching them, skin to skin, the entire time. It takes a lot out of her when she doesn't have permission because their cursed energy will just end up clashing. It's really better for her to get their blueprint and apply it onto one of her curses.
Kinji Hakari’s rough cursed energy signature isn’t considered a technique so Tamaki will apply that signature onto her cursed energy though her blueprint technique during a fight. I'm assuming cursed energy application is kinetic and Hakari’s energy is just kinetic too just moving in a back and forth movement causing a cutting feeling while Kashimo’s is electric so going off of energy types like kinetic and electric, there's also chemical, heat, mechanical. Mechamaru developed a heat blueprint for her.
She also knows rct. Surprisingly it wasn't taken from another person; she actually learned it when her bf was dying. I don't know how rct works but Tamaki applies her rct in her stem cells and rebuilds her body bit by bit with the help of her technique. She really doesn't value her body that much because she can just heal it over and over again which is a problem when she tries to make a binding vow to exchange parts of her body for something else. Instead of sacrificing an arm she could make one that prevents her from regenerating her arm during the fight.
Her domain expansion is just her technique but instead of it being contact based, it now works if you’re within the range of her domain. It gives her guaranteed control over a third or more of all the cursed energy in the domain. She can do it but it still takes a lot out of her to manipulate a technique without permission. She can also apply your technique on someone else so if someone had blood manipulation she could use them as a medium and manipulate someone else’s blood.
All of this is just a way to say her technique is overpowered when applied correctly. If she collects a lot of blueprints and optimises the heck out of them she's a force to be reckoned with but at the start she doesn't think it's useful because in its base form it's main use is support through information gathering which is something Tamaki doesn't enjoy.
She's also a fucking Mary Sue. Really the only drawback she has is having less options for binding vows due to her mentality, very few options for ranged attacks, and high cursed energy consumption with her average sized cursed energy reserves which is negated by the fact that she can literally minimise the loss of cursed energy with her cursed technique just like Gojo with his six eyes. Does having to collect cursed spirits count as a drawback because she doesn’t have to consume them but having to collect high grade spirits for her technique is really time consuming.
Did I also mention she can hide her cursed energy signature by compressing all her energy deep in one part of her body? The only person who could even notice it is Gojo with his fucking six eyes. Really, I want her to be second or first grade but after writing all of this out I realised it’s better to class her as special grade.
Personality and backstory: Reserved and shy at the start. She knows she's different (wow guys she's different!) from most people since she's a sorcerer and she's been told by her uncle not to show off that side of her but she desperately wants to since it's the only thing she's good at.
She also knows she doesn't think like most people. She doesn't feel sad when people she doesn't know die and she feels more guilty over her lack of a reaction rather than the actual thing she should be reacting to which is a big problem in her mind because she understands what empathy is but she can't feel it. She has dead parents (and her bf also dies) and she's sad that they're dead, she cares about people close to her but she couldn't care less about anyone else and in her mind it's a bad thing because like her these people have people that care about them and care if they die but she's not apart of that group of people.
Her dead parents are the reason her uncle doesn't want her to practise jujutsu. Her mother died from a cursed spirit, her father had a heavenly restriction that weakened his body so he just died from sadness so she does it in secret and sneaks off and works for Geto.
After her boyfriend dies she finds his vengeful cursed spirit. She was really disheartened when he died and seeing it made her think that he really was back and she could fix him and rebuild him to make him human again.
She experiments with her boyfriend's spirit, transferring organs from his dead body to the spirit, essentially creating a half curse half human amalgamation which kick-starts her weird obsession with evil Noritoshi Kamo. It also makes her feel guilty-er about her lack of tact in this and any other situation, how a normal person wouldn't do surgery on a cursed spirit to try to revive their dead lover, how normal people shouldn't be obsessed with Kamo Noritoshi (idk how to even describe him cuz he's a rapist but saying that to make a point about my oc being gross and weird is just iffy) just because they wanted to experiment with half curses.
Her hair is naturally white from her mom. She grew out her eyebrows because people could see them when they are white so she needed to make it obvious she wasn't balding to the other kids. She eventually dyed it black and used makeup to hide her white hair for school but then grew it out after she left.
She gets a head injury during the night parade of a Hundred Demons. It fucked up her prefrontal cortex which further decreased her empathy skills, now she rarely ever feels guilt over not experiencing normal emotions unless someone points it out but, hey at least she's not as shy anymore. She also has a little change in her technique in the way blueprints are registered, not too drastic, just thought I'd point it out since that's where cursed techniques are stored.
She gets picked up by jujutsu high after Geto dies, thanks to Gojo but she's not a big fan of him and she attacked his students so she doesn't really want to attend the same school as them. She gets sent to Kyoto tech instead which was a decision from the higher ups to keep the new generation in line and it's something Gojo couldn't stand in the way of because this is what Tamaki wanted.

The Black Tortoise
I based her whole name and general aesthetic on it. Her original name was Genbu, the Japanese name of the black tortoise because I changed it. "kita" means north and the black tortoise is associated with it. I'm gonna call it Xuanwu since it's the Chinese name for it. The second kanji in her given name means tortoise but the hanzi "wu" (or the kanji reading "bu") doesn't mean turtle, it means martial or warrior because Xuanwu isn't really Xuanwu if it's just the tortoise, it has to have a snake which is where her cursed spirit bf comes in.
Vaisravana/Bishamonten
her domain hand sign borrows from the God of warfare since she likes fighting (im not exactly sure if the image I took from him could be like his signature hand sign since idk how to actually pick one but the image is down below). It's similar to Kinji Hakari's domain hand since his hand sign comes from Benzaiten and both Bishamonten and Benzaiten are part of the seven lucky gods. They’re also both part of the twenty four devas originally being sixteen then twenty in Indian Buddhism before being twenty four in Chinese with Benzaiten being conflated with the god Saraswati who was called Biancaitien in Chinese where the name Benzaiten came from. Vaisravana is also one of the four heavenly kings which are all in the twenty four devas, representing the north. He has two names in Chinese, Pishamentian and Duoweng Tianwang, the latter meaning listening to many teachings.

the appearance of one of the ocs was based on him but it changed so much that you wouldn't even think to relate him to the oc but he is the reason why Tamaki has white hair so Geto can project and imagine she's his and Gojo's kid cuz he's freaky and gay like that it's actually one of the reasons why he picked her up as a student

So I finished FFXV ages ago, but I've been thinking about it lately bc you know, I elaborated the chocobros' story far further than it was meant to go and got way more attached to them than I should have. So here're some things that the game did really well and some of the things it didn't. (you don't have to agree w anything here; I'm not trying to corrupt y'all w my opinions; I just feel like talking)
Let's start with the bad to get it out of the way:
CINDY. I swear to everything holy her character had the potential to be So Cool if she hadn't been so overtly over-sexualized. Like, I'm a woman-liker too and I get it, lady mechanics are hot af, but you know what else is attractive? Safety in the workplace. Cindy's outfit was not something any mechanic would be caught dead wearing. Yeah, it was designed to be sexy, but do you know how many burns she would've accumulated from the hot oil and metal she works with? There's a reason mechanics typically wear clothing zipped up when they're actually working on something. If anything, Cindy's character design just made me uncomfortable. Her character itself? Great. No qualms there. Her design? Please acquire more than two square feet of fabric I'm begging you. I just feel like Cindy deserved to be so much more than fan service.
Luna's brief time on-screen. Yet another potentially incredible and deep female protagonist who got short change from this game. People joke a lot that Luna wasn't at all an important character because the game never really treated her like one. She was MEANT to be important, clearly, but it felt like she existed just for her tearjerking death scene? Like there was SO MUCH overlooked potential to bring her into the storyline as more than Tragic Love Interest In White, and yet?? Idk it frustrated me.
The emotional aspect of the game felt rushed. There were a lot of emotional scenes covered throughout the plotline ranging from King Regis's death to the deal with Prompto at Zegnautus Keep. I feel like the game TRIED to cover them realistically and show the characters' grief, but it didn't quite get there. It was just sort of an "Oh, how sad. I'm so upset and angry. Hm, what's that? My friends believe in me without truly understanding and I can kill someone to ease my pain? Oh okay I'm better now." I get that realistic healing cycles are kinda hard to portray within a set timeframe, but having some lingering effects of the blatant trauma inflicted would've been nice. You don't recover from shit like that in a week's time.
Character personalities tended to be one-sided. Noctis was edgy, Prompto was happy-go-lucky, Gladio was tough-guy, and Ignis was... nevermind, Iggy was great--- HE had some on-screen depth. Personally, I've developed these characters myself far more than what the game gave us, but I wish we'd gotten more canon depth beyond their surface-level traits. I love them with my whole heart and they deserve genuine complexity.
Now the things I actually really enjoyed:
The graphics were on-point. The amount of detail put into character design and into monsters was insane. You could zoom in and see individual textures on skin and hair and feathers, bringing a level of realism to the game that I personally enjoyed.
All of the Latin and Norse mythological references!! As a Latin nerd, I found little gems everywhere in this game. Esp in the names--- (Noctis Lucis Caelum = Of-the-night Sky-of-light (the genitives in there make the literal translation kinda a mouthful ik) Gladiolus Amicitia = Sword-flower Friendship (the gladiolus is an actual flower that gets its name from the Latin word gladius, meaning sword, for its sword-like shape) Ignis Scientia = Fire Knowledge; Prompto Argentum = Ready Silver (the word prompto is actually in the dative (possibly ablative), making the literal translation nonsense, but if they'd made his name Promptus, it would've sounded awkward, so I can see why they picked the dative/ablative form of the adjective for stylistic reasons and I put the rough translation instead)) WOW THAT WAS A LOT OF PARENTHETICAL INFO WHOOPS
Ardyn's character. I'm not saying this bc I'm one of the fans who fawn over him---Ardyn is DEFINITELY NOT MY PREFERRED FLAVOR OF MAN, but character-wise, he made an excellent antagonist. He was witty, slick, and classy in an I'm-gonna-outstep-you-like-it's-hopscotch sorta way. He was a poetic villain done well, which made him an antagonist you could both sympathize for and absolutely detest given the situation. He was both the master manipulator and the pawn one space away from the edge of the board. He can sway a crowd, but you know deep in your gut just by the cunning greed in his eyes that You Cannot Trust The Man. He was definitely Not a good person (tragic backstory isn't an excuse), but he was a good villain.
I loved the bond between the chocobros?? This is probably bc I'm a sucker for the found family trope, but their interactions were so amazing to me?? Like, not even the cutscene stuff. Just their little sidebar conversations during fights or while you're walking around or driving the Regalia. They're Roadtrip Buddies™ and I think that's excellent.
THE FOOD. By god, the food in this game looked absolutely scrumptious and I would like to partake. The Daggerquill Soup? Give it to me I'll pay you. The Creamy Crustacean Omelet? Stop it right now I'll eat that so fast it'll be a criminal offense. Like I know I touched on the graphics earlier, but broski I was not kidding. I guess I know why the game took so long to make it to the market bc the detail that went into these recipes is absolutely mouthwatering.

The group stumble to their feet, the alarms kicking their asses into gear and raising their adrenaline levels, getting them ready for what might just be the fight of their lives.
“Alright, let’s pull up footage from all over the city, let’s see what we’re dealing with and everyone, look perky, we’ve got to be ready for anything so I don’t give a damn if you feel like your brain is going to slide out of your ears, that’s your fault for drinking so much last night.” Alex starts directing them, using her prior experience at the DEO to start controlling the situation.
Lena jumps into action, rushing to the computer to start pulling up footage from all around the city, just as Brainy and J’onn come rushing in. Brainy joins Lena and starts helping her out as much as he can, using scanners they have built into the tower to try and take a look at what’s going on.
The footage is pulled up quickly and transferred onto the bigger screen in the Tower and what they see takes their breaths away.
“Oh shit.” Alex gasps. “That’s not the kind of spider I was expecting.”
“Well, that’s a pretty loose interpretation of a spider.” Lena quips, staring at what appears to be some kind of giant ship with several long legs shooting down from it as it hovers over the city.
The ‘legs’ don’t reach the ground, the entire thing hovering. From the bottom of each long mechanical-looking tube that resembles a leg, hundreds of forms are exiting the ship, flying off and dispersing across the city.
They look like robot forms, the shape inherently human except for an extra set of arms on the sides of them.
“There are hundreds of them.” Lena gasps.
“I’d say thousands.” Kara chimes in. “I think you can forget whatever you had on your list that can kill spiders because that’s not your average house spider.”
“Gee, you think?” Alex says, sarcasm dripping from her voice. “Everyone, suit up, we need to get out there. Lena, what are they doing?”
Lena moves through all of the available footage, watching where the robots go and trying to figure out their intent. “It looks like, for now, they are just dispersing, they are spreading across the city and then just hovering around but for how long, I don’t know. I have a bad feeling about it all though.”
“Me too.” Alex activates her Hand of The Soldier gauntlet, her suit materializing in an instant. “I think this is going to be very, very bad. Let’s start evacuating people and sending them out of the city or at least get as many people as we can inside. Civilian lives are the priority here.”
“Agreed.” Kara’s suit activates, in turn, the nanobots spreading across her body and replacing her normal clothes with her Supergirl regalia. “I’ll take the west side by the waterfront and start guiding people to safety, Alex, why don’t you start here and work your way out? J’onn and Nia can start from the busier areas and work from there.”
“Sounds good,” Alex replies. “Give me a lift?”
Kara nods and then moves to press a kiss on Lena’s cheek. “Be safe.”
“You too.”
Kara smiles then uses her superspeed to grab Alex and dive off of the balcony, landing on the sidewalk across the road. “You be safe as well.”
“As safe as I can be,” Alex promises. “No being a hero.”
Kara doesn’t make any promises.
“Kara?” Alex calls after her as she jets off. She rolls her eyes in annoyance. Her sister is going to be the death of her. “Such a brat.”
Lena watches them from her spot in front of the computer and does the same when J’onn and Dreamer head out too. Kelly gets ready to leave too, running off to get changed and hopping back into the room a few minutes later, still trying to shove her feet into her boots. “It’s so unfair that they can get changed so fast.”
Lena snickers as Kelly runs into the elevator and repeatedly presses the button for the ground floor. Her attention quickly falls back to what she was doing, mostly just watching what the robots are doing.
They are still dispersing, more and more of them with every second that passes, and then just hovering over streets and buildings, flying around until they reach a spot they like and standing still. Lena has to give it to Lex, these robots are well programmed, they move efficiently and obviously have collision aversion software because they haven’t even come close to hitting anything.
She focuses her eyes on the screen that shows Kara out on the west side of the city. She can see her directing people inside and talking with families who then pack themselves up into their cars and start driving towards the city borders. She can see the highway leading out of the city filling up with more and more cars, traffic backing up and she doesn’t need audio to know that there are a lot of car horns blaring from that stretch of road.
Everyone works quickly and as efficiently as they can and Lena is astounded at the speed in which the team manages to control the crowds on the street, ushering everyone either inside or to leave the area. For the most part, people are getting in their cars and driving away, entire districts emptying in a matter of minutes, all the while being watched by the robots.
Lena has to say, she would expect something more sinister from Lex than waiting for people to leave. She would have thought that he would purposefully attack while everyone is still in the city so they would be too distracted trying to protect civilians to properly fight against his robots but then again, he’s always had a big ego so it wouldn’t shock her if he thought so much of himself that he doesn’t think they will win, even if they do have their heads in the game.
Then, there’s movement.
“Supergirl, I’ve got robots moving half a mile to your six.”
“Copy that.”
Lena tracks Kara’s journey down to the robots through the footage, using traffic cameras and CCTV to closely monitor everything she can.
Kara stops just short of where the robots are moving but they aren’t moving the way she expected them to be when Lena said they had broken out of their stationary state. They aren’t whizzing about or even floating around aimlessly, no, their arms are turning, the hands, which have fingers and all, are unlatching, slitting in the middle and the casing being pulled back into the wrists, revealing instead the barrel of some kind of weapon.
“Their hands have guns in them!” Kara calls through her comms to the others. “Everyone be careful.”
Kara hears a barrage of inventive swears in response.
“Supergirl, if you can bring me one, I might be able to use it to take down the weaponry of all of them, there’s a good chance they are hive mind similar to the bugs before.”
“You got it.” Kara flies closer to one of the robots from behind, the green casing of the robot getting clearer as she gets closer, the metal shiny and solid. Her hands pin its arms to its side, the top set of arms trapping the bottom set. She’s just about to take off towards Lena with it in her grasp when its head turns around, its body still facing the other way, until it’s eye to eye with her.
Its previously white-lit eyes change colour to a sickly yellow-green and then the body turns, shaking out of Kara’s grip with ease. The arms pull up and in a matter of milliseconds the four arms are pointed at her chest and a laser beam of pure kryptonite is shot into her chest.
It sends her careening back through the air, her chest exploding in pain and her veins filling up with the substance that hurts her the most. Her limbs paralyze with the pure, unadulterated agony of being hit with the kryptonite and thus, she starts to fall.
“Supergirl!” Kara hears Lena’s voice ring out through her earpiece as she begins to drop.
The further from the robot she gets, the more the pain lessens and as such, as she is nearing the ground in what would be a catastrophic crash, she manages to just about tuck her legs beneath her and thrust upwards, flying up just enough to stop her ending up becoming one with the concrete below. “I’m good.” She gasps. “They have kryptonite.”
“Supergirl, retreat back to the Tower!” Alex demands. “It’s not safe for you out here!”
“But—”
“That’s an order, Supergirl!” Alex gives her no chance to argue.
Kara sighs. She doesn’t want to leave the team out here to deal with the robots on their own but realistically, she knows she can’t stay out here. She’ll be no help to anyone if she’s just going to get shot out of the sky over and over again. “On my way back to you, Eagle One.”
“Copy that, Supergirl. Don’t dawdle.”
“Yes, Ma’am.”
Kara looks up to see the robot that shot her has gone back to its original position, arms still armed but its eyes turned back to white. Odd. She takes off back to Lena. She might not be any help out here but she can see if Lena needs a hand with anything, maybe she can help her out with figuring out how to stop these metal assholes, she might not have a good handle on how human technology works at times but she knows about alien technology and that’s got to count for something.
Lena watches the little dot tracking Kara’s movements travel closer and closer to her with bated breath, worried that she’ll be shot at again before she manages to get there safely but soon enough, Kara flies in through the balcony and Lena can breathe again.
Kara joins her at her side. “What can I do to help from here.”
“Activate the Tower’s security system. If they have kryptonite, we can’t risk any of them getting inside.”
“What about the others?”
“They can still get in from the office downstairs with DNA scanners. Kara, this is for your safety.”
“I can’t just sit and hide, Lena. I have to be doing something.”
Lena walks over to a new panel she recently installed on the wall just beside all of the buttons that summon all of the other heroes on Earth and opens it up, activating the security system herself since Kara is very obviously not about to do it.
Kara follows her like a lost puppy. “Lena?”
“Kara, I need you to be patient. I’ve been working on something for you to protect you from kryptonite but I’ve only got the blueprints done, it would take hours to actually get it made. I can set J’onn’s Martian technology on it so it starts making it but it will take a few hours. Can you wait that long without complaining until my ears bleed?”
Kara’s face lights up. “You should have led with that. Let’s get it going.”
“Good. I can go and do that, watch over the monitors and the team, watch their backs and guide them when you need to.”
“You got it, boss.” Kara grins, practically skipping over to the computers.
“Oh and let the rest of the team know you’re back and the Tower has gone into lockdown.”
Kara does exactly as she’s told, using her superspeed to flick through all of the footage available to her to get eyes on the full team with pride sitting warmly in her heart at how well they are doing at evacuating everyone and getting those that refuse to leave to somewhere they can at least take cover. “I’m back at the Tower, guys, Lena has activated the security system so the only entrance is downstairs and you’ll have to use the DNA scanner to open the door.”
“Thank god.” Alex mumbles. “Stay safe, Kara.”
“I second that,” J’onn adds.
“Third.” Nia chimes in.
“Fourth.” There’s laughter in Kelly’s voice as she adds to the conversation.
“Fif—” Brainy tries to say.
“Shut up!” Kara snaps. “I don’t like you guys.”
“Love you too.” Alex chuckles.
Kara ignores them all after that, focusing instead on keeping track of the robots’ movements, flipping through each and every frame of footage they have and setting her sights on the ship using the pieced-together angles to try and figure out the schematics of the ship, mapping out any possible entrances or weak spots.
“Hey, J’onn?”
“I’m here.” J’onn responds.
“Can you get me sights on the top of the ship?”
J’onn finishes up the small group of people left on the block he’s working on evacuating and then flies up over the top of the ship, keeping a safe distance but also getting close enough he can get a good look. “I see it.”
“Can you get me pictures?”
A few moments later she’s receiving almost a dozen pictures of the top of the ship, all from different angles. “Thanks, J’onn. You’re free to get back to what you were doing before. Thanks for the assistance.”
“Anytime.”
From the photos she has and the CCTV footage, Kara uses her underused art skills and her superspeed to create an amazing art piece, one mapping out the ship and the parts of it she recognizes, marking out where the filtration system is, engines, front, back, hull, anything she can figure out.
Lena strolls in, her sneakers squeaking against the polished floor as she does because she’s speedwalking, all too aware of how much they have got to do and how little time they have because sooner or later, those robots are going to start destroying things because of course they will, they literally have guns built into their arms. “Ok, that’s going to take a while, it says it will be complete in a couple of hours.”
“Hours?” Kara looks up at her, eyes wide enough to display her icy blue eyes nicely.
“Yes, hours. I can’t control how long it takes and it’s a very detailed piece of equipment, as you can imagine it would be.” Lena pins her gaze onto Kara’s. “How are you doing with keeping track of everyone?”
“Good. I’ve made a diagram of the ship. I’m going to try and map out the robots too if I can from the footage.” Kara holds up her drawings.
Lena takes it from her. “Wow. This is actually really helpful. Yeah, do the robots next.”
She pulls out the large pinboard and whiteboard from where they are stored at the side of the room, attaching the pictures to the pinboard and marking out more parts of the ship that she recognises that Kara didn’t.
“I can see three weaker spots just from this picture but this ship is complicated. This part on the top you marked as filtration, that’s a dud. You can tell because there are these slots over on the side that is the real filtration system because they work better with the kind of engine on it, the top ones must be a trap of some kind or a dud to stop us trying to take it out. Lex has made this ship like this to make it harder for us to take him down.”
“Too bad he doesn’t give us enough credit for how utterly brilliant we are.”
Lena snorts. “Your ego never fails to amaze me.”
“I’d say confidence, not ego.”
“Whatever you say, Supergirl.”
Kara shakes her head. They are about to get into the biggest fight they have been forced into, and her team is picking on her. It’s probably nerves but it definitely feels like she’s gotten the short end of the stick.
She refocuses back on what she’s been told to do, making a diagram of the robots, adding in the details she noticed when she got up close and personal with the one that very kindly shot her with kryptonite. She’s naming that one Jerkface.
Lena occasionally nudges her aside, taking over the CCTV screens to look closer at certain situations or areas so she can give the team a nudge in the right direction. “It looks like traffic is moving well, it’s not the quickest but a lot of people have crossed the city lines now, it seems as though most people are heading for Central City.
“Good, how long do you think it will be before everyone willing to leave is out?”
“Not sure, soon though, probably within the hour. It helps that a lot of the alien population already left, that’s a lot less work for the team.”
“Good point, although, I didn’t take Lex to be someone that would let people get out of the city. I thought that he would want to cause as much damage as he possibly can with little regard for anyone else.”
Lena’s shoulders sag. “I know, I don’t know what he’s planning but chances are, it’s really bad if he’s letting people evacuate first. It might be a ploy to reduce the number of emergency services that will ultimately get sent this way. The fewer people here, the less backlash he’ll get.”
“Maybe,” Kara says, lost in thought as she takes a green pencil lying around, one that is from Esme’s pencil set but never got put away properly, and then she colours in the drawing of the robot. “I’m just about done with the front. I’ll start working on the back now.”
Lena takes the drawing and goes to hang it up and finds herself staring at it, her eyes more alight with recognition than they were when she first saw the robots, at first she just cared that they were there but now, seeing the details, she knows she’s seen them before.
“They’re Lexo-suits.”
“They’re what now?”
“Lexo-suits. It’s from a project Lex has been working on for years. They were originally designed to be sent out to warzones to help people, give them first aid and such. They were originally meant to help people, I even worked on some of the components before other projects came up through Luthor Corp and he took over the project completely. I couldn’t possibly tell you what kind of modifications he could have added given how long it’s been since I’ve worked on them.”
Kara closes her eyes, making a point to take several deep breaths. “So you’re telling me that these robots are actually something called Lexo-suits and they are extremely advanced and will be really hard to fight?”
Lena hesitates briefly. “Yeah…”
“Great. That’s just…great.”
Lena looks down, her fingers entwining with each other nervously. “I’m sorry.”
Kara steps towards her, a hand falling onto Lena’s and stopping their anxious wriggling. “Hey, don’t apologise, none of this is your fault and I will tell you that as many times as I have to in order to make you believe it.”
“Promise?”
“I promise.”
Lena clasps her hand onto Kara’s too, sharing the moment before snapping herself out of it and getting back to work. “Um, can you keep watch a minute? I’m going to write down what I remember of the old versions of the Lexo-suit just in case it helps.”
“You got it.” Kara sits down on the stool in front of the monitor and as she’s flipping through, she sees Brainy rounding a small group of aliens into a building. “Wait, when did Brainy head out? I thought he would stay in here and help you.”
“He’s going to come back when the city has been evacuated. He left not long after you. You’ve been in here for a while now, is this the first time you noticed?”
Kara shrugs, pulling a face only a guilty person could manage.
She’s vaguely aware of Lena just off to her side. She’s working on her lists dutifully, adding notes to the pictures Kara drew not long ago and it spurs Kara to quickly do the drawing of the back of the suit so Lena can have that too.
Lena gasps when she sees the back. “Yes! He hasn’t changed the thrust system. If I can come up with a countermeasure, I can ground the lot of them, that will at least make them easier to fight.”
Kara grins at the excitement in Lena’s voice, the pure joy of making a difference. “Good job, smarty-pants.”
A pencil hits her back but she pays it no mind, the smile dropping off her face. “Shit, they’re moving.”
Lena drops what she’s doing and races to her side to see what Kara means. Kara wordlessly points to one specific live feed. One that shows they are all converging in certain areas, moving in what looks to be a well-practised manoeuvre.
“Where are they going?” Lena mumbles, clicking in and out of different sets of camera footage.
Kara watches her and it clicks for her before it does for Lena, her hand gently moving Lena’s out of the way so she can confirm the theory she prays is wrong. “They’re going for the team.”
“Guys, the Lexo-suits are all heading your way so take cover, we don’t know what they are planning. If it gets too much, retreat back to the Tower, don’t be heroes, get back safely.”
“Copy.”
“Copy.”
“Copy.”
“Copy.”
Kara and Lena can’t do anything but take their word for it and trust them to make the right choices, a task that Kara would usually find much easier knowing she’s out there fighting with them but is a thousand times harder when she’s just sitting on the sidelines.
“How much longer before I can go out there?” She questions when she sees Dreamer taking cover behind a truck, spying on the Lexo-suits as they fly by searching for her.
With a glance at her phone, Lena grimaces. “Another hour at least. Don’t do anything stupid, you’d just be someone they have to protect if you try.”
“I know,” Kara whispers. “I just wish there was something I could do to help them.”
Lena places a hand on her shoulder, a comforting weight to hopefully make her feel at least a little better when there’s nothing she can really say.
Both of their eyes shoot over to the monitors as they begin to shake and for a moment, they think something is wrong with them but when they realize it’s not just the monitors but everything, they panic.
The ground beneath their feet vibrates and things fly off surfaces, everything falling and making the room look as chaotic as they feel inside. “What the hell is going on?” Kara calls over the noise of lamps and things smashing onto the floor.
Lena claws her way up to look at the camera feed and finds that half of them are down, either destroyed completely, the feed gone, or the area around them so dust-filled that it’s impossible for them to see anything.
“Guys, come in! Give me a verbal signal you’re alright.” Kara calls through the comms, her throat suddenly feeling tight which makes her voice come out strained.
There’s no response from the other end, none of them answering her.
“Guys?”
“Can anyone hear me?” Lena tries when Kara gets no response from anyone.
Lena doesn’t get any response either so while Kara flicks through the few remaining cameras in search of their team, Lena gets out her laptop and starts trying to track them and looks up the comm status for each person.
“Their comms are still live but the connection has been disrupted by something. Trackers are moving, Kara, they’re moving, they’re alive, we just can’t speak to them anymore.”
“Where are they?”
Lena refocuses on the trackers. “J’onn is moving fast, he must be flying, I think he’s rounding up the team. Can you see anything on the cameras?”
Kara can’t see anything on the cameras they have except one thing. Destruction. Whole buildings are half demolished and cars sit as nothing but burnt crumpled wrecks, all within a short space of time. She can just about make out the shape of the countless Lexo-suits zooming their way through the air and using their arm blasters to hit anything they see, seemingly random.
It’s not random though, Kara notes, they’re hitting any building that is important to the city, she guesses to make the city unliveable, supermarkets, banks, schools even, everything is getting destroyed. Several office buildings are taken down and those that are too strong to fall, every window is shattered and in places, are beginning to burn from the blasts.
The civilians that decided not to evacuate appear to be switching their opinions now, running as fast as they can to escape the area, most not bothering with cars because there is rubble everywhere. The strange part is that they are completely left alone by the Lexo-suits, none of them even going close to the civilians, actually clearing paths for some in a few cases.
“They’re helping people.” Kara gasps.
“Who? The team? Why do you sound shocked about that?”
“No, not the team, the Lexo-suits. They’re helping people get out of the city. I don’t understand.” Kara can barely wrap her head around it all. “I don’t get it. They’re destroying buildings and putting people in danger that could be inside of them but then when they see people in the streets, they help them.”
Lena looks over her shoulder. “He’s playing some kind of game. I’m not sure what just yet but there’s ulterior motives to him helping people, we already know that from how he murdered all of those people with the fires.”
“Yeah. Hey, what exactly is it we’re waiting for so I can head out and join the others?”
“You’ll have to wait and see, now call Alex and see if you can get an update on the team.” Lena’s not giving a single thing away.
Kara frowns. “How am I meant to do that when the comms are down?”
“Kara, she still has a phone.”
“Oh, right.”
Lena wants to laugh at Kara’s panic-filled mind fog but doesn’t, the last thing Kara needs is to be dealing with insecurities on top of Lexo-suits and ships that look like spiders. She listens in as Kara calls Alex and feels every pacing step Kara takes as she waits for Alex to pick up the phone in each heavy pound of her heart.
Alex does pick up though, it takes her a while but she does and the relief in Kara’s voice is evident. “Alex! Thank Rao, I was so worried.”
Lena can only hear half of the conversation so she opts to just get back to work and wait for Kara to fill her in afterwards, something Kara is surprisingly quick at doing the second the call ends.
“She’s alright. The team is meeting up now, the Lexo-suits haven’t necessarily been attacking them as they have been purposely destroying things around them, maybe to scare them or trap them, they aren’t sure.”
“Alright, well, let’s hope it stays that way. Do the others have a plan in place yet?”
Kara shakes her head. “She didn’t mention that, just that they are trying to get to each other, J’onn is finding them individually and they are meeting up over by the docks to try and decide what to do.”
“Let’s just keep working, we won’t be any use to anyone just worrying about them, come on.” Lena grabs her arm and leads her from the opposite side of the room where she had paced to and leads her back to the stool beside the monitors. “Clean this up and track all the movements you can.”

“How much longer?” Kara asks desperately, her fingers running through her hair so roughly that Lena is worried that she’s going to actually rip half of it out of her scalp if she’s not careful.
Lena looks down at her phone. “Just a few more minutes. I know this is hard but I need you to be strong, the team needs you to be strong, Kara.”
“I can’t just stand here, Lena.” Kara replies, her voice cracking with emotion, “Alex is out there and the others too and it’s getting more and more dangerous by the second.”
Lena knows. She knows it’s getting dire out there the team being forced through the city by the chaos, little choice but to take cover where they can and avoid the blasts from the Lexo-suits that are near on indestructible. They have been watching the team whenever they come into view from their footage and can see that they have managed to take down a few of the suits but only as a team and there are far too many of them for them to be able to take them all down, they need help.
Lena pulls her into her side. “Stick with me, I’ve got you until it’s safe for you to go and help them. We’re making progress, darling.”
“I know we are, I just…I can’t wait. I know I can help but I feel so powerless.”
“The cores of the Lexo-suits are likely made of Kryptonite. If they have blasters of it, which we know they do, Lex probably decided to use it as a power source too because it’s so potent, it just makes sense. What we need is to be able to overload it. You fought against Metallo a couple of years back, right?”
Kara nods, not sure where this is going.”
“I saw on the news that the synthetic kryptonite used in his heart exploded. If we can recreate it and merge it with the kryptonite of the suits, we can make them all go boom.”
Kara pauses and for a moment, just a brief few seconds, and it’s enough to make Lena realize that she may have just crossed a line that should never be crossed but then Kara manages to get her brain going again. “We managed to salvage the blueprints to the synthetic kryptonite, I think they are in storage. I’ll go grab them and hopefully, whatever you have planned for me will be done by the time I get back so you can get started on it while I go and rescue our team. I think it’s best I bring them back here and then we can come up with a plan from there.”
Lena finds herself nodding at that. “Sounds good. I’ll go check on it but I think it’s just about done. Bringing the team back is probably the best choice, I don’t think they can avoid all of the destruction out there for much longer.”
Kara doesn’t wait any longer, she runs off, superspeed definitely in play, and heads to get the blueprints. In the meantime, Lena makes her way to her lab where she’s got Martian technology building something that will protect Kara.
It’s finished by the time she gets to her lab and she’s honestly kind of amazed at her own genius for coming up with something so astoundingly good.
She runs her fingers over the arm of it, smiling at the texture. It’s strong and protective, exactly what she needs it to be.
Lex better start running because now Supergirl has an anti-kryptonite suit, a Krypto-suit if you will. He’ll never see it coming.

The siblings only needed to take one look at each other, they don't even have to say anything. They both know. Something here has seriously gone wrong. Their teammates look at them for any clue as to what this means. Their silence rings clear and without hesitation they all grab their weapons and ready themselves for the worst.
Amelie takes the lead, even after all these years Olivier is still her little brother, and she would do everything in her power to protect him. Slowly they make their way up the hill, where the mansion used to be. They know the mansion is no more, they were the ones to help Barbera tear it down, what is starting to feel like a lifetime ago. But as they make this dreaded climb, they do see something there. A thing, where there should be no thing. This is not the mansion, it also does not seem to be a new structure. It is however, something else.
Apprehensive the push further. They are quiet, and notably, the island is quiet. It never used to be. Usually there would at the very least be the sound of birds in the trees, and of seagulls at the beach. If you know what to listen for you might even hear the wild boars rooting around. But there is nothing. Not a single sound Except Faintly, a low, slow rumble, in a very particular rhythm. One they have not heard since Bisteca died.
When they get closer, the sound gets louder, and when they finally get within viewing distance they see, a woman. Barbera! Amelie thinks. It is just Barbera, she wills herself to think. Wearing her favourite dress, the one she is pretty sure Barbera even begged her to ask Helena for the pattern for. Just Barbera, laying on the ground, taking a nap, she repeats. O Carente takes the form of a small child, lulling its victims into a sense of security, and getting them to open the door, her brain, oh so helpfully supplies. She doesn't want to look further, she just wants to live in a world where this is indeed her friend, and she could run up to her to give her a hug. But she’s been in this game for over 10 years now, she knows better. Thus, she looks again, and her heart sinks.
She sees the form of a woman, Barbera. Her hair still blonde, but between the golden strands it looks as if there are small dancing flames. Green flames. From under her dress, where one would usually expect legs, there sprouts a large mass of curling, writhing tentacles easily spanning five times her size. Whoever, or whatever this is, Amelie doubts there is anything of her friend left in there. This is all their fault. They left her alone, isolated, and vulnerable to the Other Side. They should have known, They should have looked after her. They should have dragged her off of this god forsaken island whether she wanted to or not. They should have They should have They shoul-
*SNAP*
Amelie turns around to look at the source of the sound. The new recruit stepped onto a branch, it snapped. She hisses, holding her breath, praying, she turns back to look at Barbera the creature. In the less than five seconds Amelie had her eyes off of her it, it righted itself upright, and having quickly located the source of the sound, it raises a hand and screams. The inside of its mouth looks like a portal to hell, except the flames are green. Her eyes are black, but the pupils are iridescent and undulating, constantly changing colour and shape. From the corners that hellish reddish brown paint streams down. If anything of Barbera was still in there, or if the creature had any feelings at all, Amelie might have thought that it was crying.
A sound There is A sound Sounds should not happen here Sounds do not happen here No sound has happened here since she embraced her friend Someone is here Someone is here Someone is here and they want to hurt her Friend
Panicked, enraged, scared She screams and attacks Shooting out one of her tentacles Straight into the chest of the source of the sound
It meets some resistance, but she is strong It bursts out the other side and she quickly wraps it around Securing the intruder in her grip, it screams
There are more sounds A shout It is a word, one she recognises It almost sounds like Bárbara, but not quite
Barbera
That is what she hears She has not heard that in a long time Not that she heard Bárbara recently either but there is only one person who calls her Barbera
It gives her pause, just for a second Bárbara, Barbera, whatever That is not who she is anymore
and everyone who called her that left Them being here now means they want something She knows what they want they want to take her paint, her fire, her Friend
She does not listen to their pleas She attacks and attacks and attacks
She is attacked back as well, of course but she gives it no mind She does not feel pain
Her Friend protects her from the pain and she will protect her Friend
She keeps attacking She does not stop She cannot stop
Yes she loses some tentacles here and there but she can do without for now They’ll grow back Eventually
She is strong Her Friend makes her strong These intruders are strong as well
She remembers Amelie and Olivier having been strong even back then when they first tried to destroy her Friend the paint but she is so much stronger She has the entirety of her island behind her
One by one the intruders fall first the ones she does not know The new ones
Then she takes Olivier Wraps him up tightly in her tentacle Strong enough that he cannot do anything She pushes paint to leak out of it
and he screams and Amelie screams
Some part of her still missed him, some part of her does not want to kill him She thinks, then moves, Olivier safely wrapped up, Amelie in pursuit She moves down the spiral, into the cave To the spring, where a small flame still keeps burning
Her old friend should not need to die Her old friend can become part of her Friend All of her friends together In one place
Amelie curses, she runs as fast as she can to follow the creature holding Olivier. She tries to attack Barbera, tries to shoot at the tentacles, tries to cut them down, anything to give Olivier a leg up, to free him. She is not going to lose her little brother.
Whatever she has, all the little tricks she has learned over the years, she throws at this creature. She is so much more knowledgeable about the Other Side, she is so much more powerful now. But in this moment, she feels just like that one morning in the church. She tries and tries and tries, but it isn’t enough. She is powerless to stop Barbera this creature from taking Olivier, her little brother, the one person she swore to always protect, and hold him into the flame. She screams. She doesn’t even think the creature allowed Olivier to scream as he is held into the flame and melts into that accursed paint.
Olivier is no more, now it is just Amelie. It is just Amelie, and no longer Bárbara.
She does not know what to do She is exhausted Physically Mentally She is tired and she does not know what to do She falls to the ground and sobs
Amelie looks at the creature that used to be Bárbara, in the cave below the mansion. The place where so many of her nightmares stem from, but also the place that gave her purpose.
Amelie looks at the creature, on the ground, sobbing and she sees her friend.
Her friend, who so nobly gave her life to keep this place safe to keep this place secret. Her friend, who she left, who she abandoned to be corrupted by the evils of this place.
This cursed place. Her friend, who needed help, who had no one around to help her, when she had always been so willing to help others.
She looks down at this creature, She looks up at Bárbara.
Amelie drops her gun from her thigh she takes a knife, a beautiful, long, fishing knife.
Slowly, carefully, she walks up to Bárbara
She reaches out
wraps her arms around her back
and stabs the knife right between her ribs straight into her heart

This is the last lighthouse already, and honestly, this one is the reason I decided to name the chapter titles after lighthouses themselves, instead of just lighthouse parts. For the entirety of my watchthrough of this season I kept on accidentally calling the lighthouse, the firehouse, due to its Dutch word of Vuurtoren (Fire tower). The lighthouse keepers being named Vurtoren did not help either. But that also meant that I kept on waiting for the lighthouse to light up, to catch fire, and to signal the beginning of the end. That is not what happened, but the image stuck with me. Brandaris as a lighthouse is named after a saint, but more importantly to my mind, it shares the beginning of burning (branden) (funnily, the surf and breachers are called "de branding'' aswell, making the burning connection even stronger in my mind). Coincidentally, Brandaris is also one of the oldest, still working lighthouses in the Netherlands, the original tower having been build in the 1300s. It did fall down once, but the current tower has been around since the late 1500s. And for a long part of it's lifespan Brandaris had been a life fire lighthouse! Now it has been running on electricity for over 100 years, but in my heart, Brandaris is still Burning Bright, perhaps if you look at it just right, with a slight tint of green<3

Okay, so related to that one post abt somebody with plant powers not really being able to control ibara, how DO you think she sees the world?? Like to be honest i live your interpretation of her quirk and could read a whole book on it. You said it was kinda translated right? so how would she expreince her senses then??
Haha, thats a really good question! Ive actually been reading a book on plant perception lately (What A Plant Knows, by Daniel Chamovitz) so while i cant say i definitely know everything, its helped put things into perspective. also for the sake of Not Being Buzzkills obviously horikoshi didnt think abt this its just hc im using canon to supplement and draw conclusions dont be silly
also um. im putting this under a cut because it really is a book's worth of meta. i got really excited.
But i think, from how we see Ibara, a large part of it is going to be filtered through religious experiences+delusions. It already seems like how she talks and understands thing is subconsciously put through this filter (i dont think shes calling shishida "apocalypse beast" out of spite or to be inflammatory-- there is religious theory that the beast of gevaudan may have been god-sent, albeit this theory is rare and far from widely accepted. Ibara doesnt seem to follow any specific doctrine, though, and i really think parts of it are just kinda her brain drawing connections in line with her deeply personal beliefs as opposed to dogma. To her it may just be that she believes theyre saying the same thing in essence, while he does not)
But on the topic of sensory experiences specifically, I would also say that Ibara is experiencing exponentially higher levels of sensory input than most people, so i cant blame her for being a space cadet. And while the fainting is an anime-only gag presumably to show her delicate sensibilities or whatever i personally am choosing to interpret it as an incredibly reasonable consequence of her brain hitting the limit. Like cut the cameras im OUT!!! It's documented frequently in the history of religious ecstasy and other spiritual experiences, so adding an assload of input i can imagine only heightens your chance.
And so onto your question about how that manifests-- its hard to say! But i have a few ideas.
Firstly, i think we should address what the plant is perceiving, and how. In a base function, we can say that they respond to stimuli in certain forms (light, sound, smell, balance, touch, etc) which loosely correlates with our own senses. They differ in the organs used, though, but Ibara having a centralized animal brain both simplifies and complicates it.
Plants don't "see" pictures-- they have sensory cells dedicated to seeing both light and different wavelengths of light (which helps control their circadian cycle and even flowing schedule! Even a small disruption of flashing a certain color light during the night can allow farmers to delay or change when certain plants flower), but these arent rods and cones connected to an optical nerve connected to a brain. But at the same time, they... ARE connected to a brain.
I think for Ibara, plant sight is like a murky, back-of the mind addition to her normal range of vision. It's not a picture the same way her Eyes work, but she knows intuitively theres light, shadow, and colors around her, and can focus in on it a little more if she tries. Details and motion that doesn't block light wouldnt be part of it-- the plant can only see what blocks light covering it or reflects light onto it. Ever-periphery flashes of shadowy shapes and colors. (and conversely: i think the prayer pose, with eyes closed and hands clasped makes it easier to focus on the information filtering through)
sound is also different-- while the studies about plant growth and music are bunk, plants do react to sound. the mechanics of it are still heavily under-explored, but we know they do, just so long as its sound that may be relevant to a plant, like running water or insects chewing. I don't think Ibara could do what Hawks does-- where he can focus in on sounds through his wings and hear conversations. The vines aren't a dedicated sensory organ, they just communicate signals back that are of relevance. She may KNOW there's sound somewhere, but it's background noise until it's something that triggers a response. The question is really what would be deemed important enough to do so.
See, the thing with plants is that they don't have emotions, or even a centralized brain, as we've established. Animals can and do. humans especially. Things deemed important by a person can be important for a variety of reasons, beyond just survival. While Ibara uses the vines as an extension of her limbs, it doesn't change the built in systems of stimuli response the plant has, but the plant isn't a brain in the sense that it will decide anything. So the question of What Ibara Hears from the plant is an interesting one. Personally, I don't think she hears the sounds "as is". Ibara doesn't HEAR insects chewing, because the cells are communicating a stimulus and response, so it would be an interpretation of the response. Sort of a plato's cave issue-- I think ibara may say she "hears omens of danger" or "tidings of great joy", but it's not like she's being told a Coherent Thought By The Vines. it's sound of water = good = we are safe and can find safety + an avidly catholic teenager = the angels bring tidings of joy. it's thing she "hears" but doesnt hear because its never actually touching her own aural organs or nerves. She may not be able to pinpoint what the sound itself is, just what it evokes or what her brain fills the gap in as, like talking.
Taste and smell are both something plants do, but defined slightly differently, as we associate these things with specific nerves in the human body that plants Dont Have. to define it the way my book does, we're going to say "taste is the reception of chemical signals through touch" and "smell is the reception of chemical signals dispersed through the air". and plants do taste, and taste one another-- many parasitic plants show preference for certain species, like the dodder vine. other vines, especially those that climb, will avoid climbing their own species because they know that the support is unstable. this is something they figure out by the chemicals they release onto their surface. This is something that would really be tightened up by ibara having an actual real world plant on her head but trust me trying to find anything that matches is a mess. more on that in a bit. but we know, in theory, she can "taste" other plants, and maybe even other type of similar compounds through these vines, which i think would then also manifest in at least a vague idea of a taste in her mouth-- once again, platos cave of sensation, although honestly its probably a bit more in line with what the actual thing would taste like. (tomatoes, for example). this taste may also correlate with a signal that associates emotionally, but ill touch on that in the pain part of this.
Smell is similar- once again, just detected through the air instead of touch. (The smell of cut grass? An airborne danger signal. Ibara probably can't stand being around freshly-cut lawns, it must feel like a giant panic attack. How this would manifest? Not sure! The smell of blood? As a sound instead? It's hard to say what could compare to the scope of fear that kind of flood would cause). I won't go into depth since it's the same as above, but I would also like to add carbon dioxide as a mention. Plants can detect levels of CO2 (and it can decide how they photosynthesize!) in the air, and I think because for Ibara, photosynthesis has to be accelerated (due to the faster growth and usage of energy being more akin to that of an animal instead of a plant) and she and the plant share an exchange of signals and nutrients.
I'm going to diverge briefly into the realm of digestion and nutrition. Firstly because I love it. Secondly because it will circle back to our carbon dioxide talk.
Ibara's vines are, as we see, leafless. This is quite relevant. Leaves, as most people know, are responsible for the majority of photosynthesis. While chlorophyll in any parts of the plant can photosynthesize, leaves are by far the most effective way thanks to the broad surface area and certain specializations. Leafless plants (especially in the case of vines) tend to be parasitic. Plants that evolve photosynthetically-inefficient leaves tend to be carnivorous, which I would like to explore a little.
A plant is defined as carnivorous if, typically, it shows a form majorly inclined towards having prey-trapping mechanisms, and receives a substantial amount of nutrition from doing so. They tend to grow in areas that have high sunlight and water levels, but with incredibly nutritionally deficient soil. Nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorous, and proteins, which are found in meat (bugs included)
Now, Ibara's vines don't have visible roots, so I think it's safe to assume the root system is within her body, and goes deep below the surface. Water, nutrients, and neurological signals all need to be shared; and so I think her entire body is connected to this root system. Ergo, all the nutrition the plant gets that isn't photosynthesized comes from what Ibara digests-- which is also why I don't personally subscribe to the vegan or vegetarian Ibara headcanon-- because nitrogen and phosphorous are INTEGRAL to stem growth, and baby, she's all stem. In fact, I think she probably loves meat-- second only to bread, which provides long-term energy in the form of complex sugars. I personally think Ibara would dislike sweets in the traditional sense of candy and desserts outside of winter-induced cravings from a drop in photosynthesis, but that would be because the sugars her vines produce for her already maintain a decent level of homeostasis, so it would cause her blood sugar to spike and make her feel ill. Conversely, bread breaks down and is stored much more long term, so it would both benefit her and the plant, which is inefficient at photosynthesis compared to a plant of the same size with leaves, and would need a boost given how much energy it uses to grow, detach, and move.
I know this girl can put away a MEALLLL after training. Yaomomo style.
I think you could argue Ibara (and her quirk) qualifies as a carnivorous plant. Her vines lack leaves and instead have developed extensive thorns (which can be a type of modified stem-- its complicated and varies plant to plant), and we never see them branch off of each other, so they may not even be capable of developing stems. She also doesn't appear to have any flowering mechanism (nor does she need one!), although I will say I'm a sucker for the idea of Ibara having psuedo-blossoms that aren't functional flowers, but rather an indicator of health. Either way, the heavy focus on the vines for strength, complex movement, and grasping through pointed extrusions makes me think you could convincingly argue that they are the "trapping mechanism", which is a requirement for carnivorous plants.
So, once again, we've established that there's a complex nutrient exchange both from Ibara to the vines, but from the vines to Ibara. And because of this, I think there's an added level of complexity to her digestive system-- specifically regarding the stomach's direct connection to the brain. Just like her own nutritional needs can trigger certain responses like in any person, but the plant probably has the same access to these hormone signals. Things like craving sugar and being irritable in winter because of the inability to produce her own as much, but also conversely, I think the plant can trigger a digestive response to prepare for the influx of sugar being photosynthesized. A "heads up, we're about to start sending this your way" to help maintain proper levels.
So, back to carbon dioxide finally. When plants detect higher carbon dioxide levels in the air, they may photosynthesize more. This may result, in my opinion, to "phantom smells" and a trigger to the digestive system, resembling how our own mouth waters when we smell food. Whether it's just an ambiguous food smell or one specifically (maybe bread?) to Ibara I'm not sure, but what I'm saying is that if Bakugou's explosions over the course of an hour can produce about the same amount of carbon dioxide as an entire person throughout one day, she probably thinks he smells fucking delicious and for no reason why. It's funny to me.
Ok! On to touch. I think it's obvious that Ibara's vines react to touch and that's transmitted to her, given how she knows that she's found someone and is pulling them out in JTA. Plants definitely can feel touch, and respond, but I'd like to note that plants can't feel pain. They don't have the ability to feel pain. They can react to adverse touch, certainly-- for example, grass releasing their smell when cut, but they don't feel pain. It's solely for survival, and feeling pain isn't really important for a relatively stationary being. Nor do they really have the factor of emotional association with pain that typically is bundled together. But in the case of Ibara; who, once again, has the burden of the complex mammalian brain... maybe she does feel pain, even if it's not "real"! It likely has to do with whether she has the expectation of and emotional association of fear/pain/etc, so simply cutting away the vines aren't likely to make her hurt. But I don't think phantom pain is out of the question, especially for someone already as high-strung as Ibara and who has so many wires crossing at so many times because of the nuance of the signals transmitted from cell to cell.
And related to touch... a fascinating and storied study in plants includes gravitropism and proprioception, or-- balance and how they know what's up and what's down! People have incredibly complex proprioception systems (most people know about the inner ear, but it goes far deeper than that!), and plants, too, make use of this ability. In fact, it's integral for plant growth.
Plants have two main mechanisms for gravity sensing. The root caps, and then in the stems, the endodermis (which is also responsible for osmosis in cells, sorta) both have genes that develop statoliths, similar to the otoliths we have in the inner ear. These statoliths tell the plant which way gravity is pulling. The root caps make roots grow down, the endodermis makes the shoots grow up.
I think for Ibara, her vines have become an extension of her own balance and ability to know where she is in space. Losing all of them suddenly would result in something similar to a damaged ACL-- having to readjust and being wobbly for a while. Not only that, but I think quirks that impact someone's sense of balance would seriously waste Ibara. While Ibara does move her vines in more ways than up and down, the ability to tell what's what still relies on the individual cells in the stems and roots. While Ibara would still be able to produce the growth hormone and self-amputating mechanisms that detach her vines (i have to look more into this, honestly-- autotomy has only been recorded in one type of plant, and even with abscission ibara's vines dont follow typical patterns. smh my head.), there would be little if any control over the movement, especially if the balance reduction hits the endodermis in more ways than one, because that would impair the hydrolic movement that causes movement in plants.... Either way, Ibara's quirk would be rendered functionally useless. Deidoro Sakaki has this one. And in my opinion, with Uraraka's quirk, they would grow, but wouldn't show proper gravitropic bending, and so may also be impaired in their ability to perform actions.
And I think a complete removal of Ibara's vines would honestly feel like... overwhelmingly suffocating? Imagine having so much of the senses you're used to having cut off, it's probably incredibly jarring and upsetting. I don't think she would prefer it to the every day life she lives, because it seems like she's generally not that impeded by her own world view and strict standards, even if others oppose it (OCD queen lets go #1).
So...as a TLDR; I think Ibara experiences normal human sensory input, she just has another layer that bleeds into it. While I often refer to the plant separately in the above, that's solely for clarity of biological mechanic explanations-- they're one and the same, the same way we started reproducing mitochondria despite their likely beginning as a different organism. She may see things that aren't there (like in the case of warning signals from other plants, or in her mental translation of all sorts of things), "hear" things in her mind, smell or taste or even feel pain... while the mechanics aren't the "real" ones we associate with the senses in question, she's still reacting to stimuli she is receiving, and I think she's learned to adapt to it. It's hard to explain, because it almost has a sort of eldritch feel... but really, Ibara is Ibara, she's a bit stubborn and translates everything into her world view, and so that determinative personality probably helps streamline the constant influx of information. Angels, music, emotions, memories-- those are things she assigns to the experiences, but they are no less validated by the biological machinations behind them. Human survival also relies on our ability to feel and the more complex machinations of the brain, the social advantages of more refined expressions and speech, and Ibara's just as human as her classmates, and her quirk ultimately is another part of that, even if we know the individual cells of the plant are without that same neurological function.

THEATRUM MUNDI or 'World Theatre' is a kind of puppetry show, it can be either comprehended as the mechanical puppet plays or viewing the meaning 'puppet' as 'everyone is playing a role in the world'. A play listed on Wikipedia example (The Great Theater of the World by Pedro Calderón de la Barca):

This particular play's form called Autos sacramentales which has human characters playing as Death, Faith, Sin, Hope, ect. aka giving each allegories a personification. (that's enough art history for today *flops to floor*)
After going through the service entrance in the back, Fukuzawa walked down the staircase to the basement, where the theater owner greeted him. "So?" the owner demanded casually. "What's your excuse for being late?"

The owner was a woman in a suit, probably around Fukuzawa's age- With her chest held out and her arms crossed before her hips, she looked up at Fukuzawa with a defiant gaze. She seemed to have a tic where she would push up her glasses every few moments or so. Her wiry black-framed glasses were shaped like acute triangles. "My apologies, Ms. Egawa." [...] "Sigh. It's fine." -Page 98
Egawa's character went through some changes in the anime version. In light novel she's more ansty, doesn't have most of the confidence/professional feeling she has in anime, easily calling Ranpo from 'uninvited guest' to 'brat', and then Ranpo quickly starts exposing her uhh relationships with people, buying clothes and stuff but not taking care of her hands and nails, necklace that wasn't a gift, about to mention her former relationship when Fukuzawa stops Ranpo.

Murakami ('Tokio' isn't mentioned when addressing him until the play) has more changes too. He acts more impatient, even bossy towards Fukuzawa in light novel. Anime still shows it slightly, but he sounds more tired than someone on the verge of patience (and it will actually makes sense later).

[...] He was sitting in his private dressing room while religiously reading over his lines. "Uh? Excuse you." The handsome young man lifted his head up from the script and frowned. "What do you want? It's almost showtime, and I'm reading over my script." There was no one else in the room. Perched on the edge of his seat, the young man angrily threw the script to the side. "The show is about to begin. Do you have any idea how it feels to be an actor right before a performance?" Fukuzawa didn't respond. "We dive into the world - become other people. And we practive nearly a year for this moment. If you get in my way, you're dead." [...] "I'm thirsty. Fetch me some water, will you?" [...] After a closer look, the young man appeared to be somewhat pale. Slightly dark bags hung under his nervous-looking eyes as well. -Page 102-103

"Die of boredom"...? Fukuzawa quietly covered his face. Bringing Ranpo with him was a mistake. He'd thought that leaving Ranpo in the lobby was a disaster waiting to happen, but this wasn't any better. He said all the wrong things. Surely the actor was going to blow his lid and stop talking to them entirely... At least, that was what Fukuzawa thought. "It's boring, huh? Well, if a brat like you says so, then it's gonna be," answered Murakami with a solemn expression. [...] "Hey, brat. What would make the play interesting to you?" "To me? Hmm..." [...] "It'd be pretty neat if one of the actors got killed during the performance just like the death threat said." A chill ran down Fukuzawa's spine. "Ha! An appropriately bratty answer." But Murakami cheerfully smirked. "If that's what the people want, then maybe giving it to them wouldn't be such a bad idea." [...] "Obviously, I don't plan on dying." Murakami faced Fukuzawa. "But as someone in show business, you think about these things. 'Would you take your life in order to achieve the ultimate performance?'... I would. Without a doubt. The only reason I haven't is because nobody has come up to me and offered to teach me the secret of acting in return for someone's life...yet. [...] " -Page 104-105
The dresser room scene is the same pretty much. Anime added a few details like the (possible) taxi driver's cameo from season 1, and a funny moment with Ranpo and the actress.

Fukuzawa has more inner monologuing, worrying he doesn't have the power to protect everyone in the theatre. Ranpo startles Fukuzawa out of his thoughts and events happen again similarly in light novel. The short scene when Fukuzawa looks away from the newspaper is a tiny added detail.

"An angel shall bring death, in the truest sense of the word, to the performer. - V." "Why didn't you say anything before?" asked Fukuzawa. "What good would that have done?" Ranpo replied as if he was offended. "You're all adults. Do something about it yourself. What good is asking a kid what he thinks is going to happen? Beside, everyone gets mad when I state the truth."

Was he talking about everything that had happened to him since he came to Yokohama? There was darkness in his eyes. "Seriously, adults don't make any sense to me." [...] "If a kid like me was able to figure it out, then surely you and the police already noticed a long time ago, right? My mother never got tired of telling me, 'You're still just a kid.' And I agree with her. [...]"
"You're still just a kid." Of course you don't understand adults. Because adults are smarter than you. Is that what she meant? It's not hard to understand why Ranpo's parents drilled that into his head, at least to a certain degree, and yet... [...] This kid didn't know anything. He had no idea that most people have no idea what's going on. - Page 110

Only after growing do people learn that others are different - [...]. They assume everyone thinks the same as they do, which often leads to conflict. That was what it meant to be human. Ranpo, still naive, may have fallen into that trap, but he did not deserve to be blamed. Nevertheless, Ranpo was an extreme case. Although he possessed such extraordinary powers of observation, he didn't think he was special. Why? Was it his parents' fault? Was it because he lived a sheltered life with parents who had minds that rivaled his? -Page 111

Random comment here from me is just that I really like how Untold Story/Origins expresses Ranpo's confusion through the whole book, a 'truth-seeing genius' who's living in a (fabricated) world view where everything can be deduced with logic and observation. Probably one of the reasons he's so bad with public transportation because schedules can change any time and reason. It can also count as a part of the 'adult world', where thoughts are not as expressed as an imaginary mind, the set rules real world brings in in contrast to imagination with endless possibilities.

"[...] When you sat down at the café, you unconsciously made sure to sit with the wall to your right, so you used to practice swordsmanship as well. After all, if the wall was on the left side, you wouldn't be able to swiftly draw your sword if something happened. You sat where the entrance was visible, which shows me you've seen your fair share of carnage in your lifetime. The reason why you barely make any noise even while walking on the hard theater floors is that you've trained for street and indoor combat. And the reason why you started to walk with one eye closed a little before we went through the unlit service entrance was so that you could immediately see your surroundings the moment you stepped into the darkness. In other words, you're trained for ambushes in dark places." Fukuzawa could feel his body gradually get colder, He slowly lost the feeling in his toes. His throat dried and tensed up as his palms began to sweat. "[...] A bodyguard's job is to protect people, so you wouldn't need to sneak around in the dark without making a sound. You quit your previous job, but you weren't working in the shadows to kill people for money like that hit man from earlier. You made that clear when you didn't show any real emotion when you talked about assassins. Plus, you didn't seem to be on your guard when you talked to the police. "Shut up!" Fukuzawa exploded. As if his spirit were physically gushing into the room, the glass shook, the lights clicked, and the theater employee walking in the distance let out a slight yelp. Martial arts masters employed a similar phenomenon when they attached with their chi. Being right next to him, Ranpo took the brunt of Fukuzawa's unconscious yet fiery attack. After being pushed back a few steps, Ranpo fell on his rear as he if had been hit with a large invisible mallet. He blinked, still sitting, with a perplexed expression. The master class-level chi energy attack had knocked him unconscious for a second. Fukuzawa suddenly returned to his senses, albeit startled.

"Sorry... You all right?" He approached Ranpo and helped him up. "Buh...?" Ranpo was still idly blinking. Fukuzawa was overcome with sense of shame. It was inexcusable for a martial arts master to use what could be considered condensed bloodlust on an ordinary person. It was evidence of just how disturbed Fukuzawa was. [...] -Page 113
(I feel like) Fukuzawa was so much more upset than it's showed (it was still great tho, poor Ranpo;;;; ). Fukuzawa's offer to Ranpo happened right before Ranpo's observation of Fukuzawa, so the novel continues with both he and Ranpo having barely any time to recover before the bell rings, signaling the beginning of the play.

Hi, I haven’t messaged you or anything in so long !! I was like 16 the last time i even posted on tumblr, i’m literally 20 in two days !!
I haven’t checked up with you since The Ride but you used to be my favorite blog and my favorite fanfic writer. You fully shaped my late teens and ur old fics got me through everything from GCSES to Covid.
And then i stopped using Tumblr cos Catfish just vanished like but i’m so happy to see you’re still writing like and you’ve found new things to write about. I went to Uni n stuff and my whole life changed and i completely forgot about ur fics. They used to be a form of escapism, and helped my romanticise my life. They genuinely helped me feel lighter when life was just heavy like. and now i don’t need them anymore and all that seems so sad and distant, my life is so so great now and i got through the not so great bits with your writing.
I just thought it was worth letting you know that you shaped a girls teen years. I completely accredit you to all the fun I had romanticising my life because of ur fics, and you literally have no idea. like some random girl in Manchester accredits some writer girl in wherever to shaping her entire late teens into some indie cringe fest nightmare that she secretly loved (don’t tell)
like i would never fess up to it anywhere except anonymous on tumblr but you were one of my only friends at times and i would read ur fics and sit alone in my room and listen to the strokes (who id never heard of until you) or id walk home from school listening to catb and imagine i was on some english coast walking to the pub with the lads and the sun setting. it sounds really sad i know and it fucking genuinely really was i was a sad lonely girl but i had so much fun!

Okay, first of all, thanks for sending me this bestie it really hit me in the chest because a) i cant believe ive had that level of impact on someone else's life and in such like a cute little way? And b) because everything youve just described is exactly what i was doing too!! Like using my little fanfictions to escape to, romanticising my dreary/lonely little life and using it to imagine a better future for myself...
Like, i started writing Oxygen when id broken up with my abusive ex, was livibg alone in a student flat, id lost ALL my pals to said ex, i was floundering at uni feeling stuck and alone and like, i used to get stoned and listen to the national and live in this little daydream which was that story and its probably one of the only reasons i survived that year!
And The Ride, i had the idea for that when i was trapped at my grandparents painting their house for them. That whole bit at the beginning where Maria is painting the B&B stemmed from a days daydreaming trying to romanticise my dreary little life.
Basically most of the fics i wrote were me creating the characters i wanted to be more like, like fliss and saffron, i wanted to be that kind of positive, confident, carefree girl and writing the characters helped me believe that I could be more like that.
And like idk, you really summed up what i was doing for me, and I'm glad u were able to romanticise your life too! I think its an underrated and important coping mechanism tbh, if you cant daydream up a better reality for yourself, how can u ever achieve a better reality for yourself?
I also think thats maybe why I don't write as often now too, generally my lifes much better than it was, I'm happier, i dont need to imagibe these friends for myself because i have a really solid group of friends, and I have B and im cared about and no ones out to hurt me anymore. So i dont need to escape to my fanfictions so much anymore idk.
Still sometimes its lovely to revel in nostalgia isnt it.
Also omg i cant believe u read those books cause of me, and heard the strokes cause of me, thats so fucking cool <3 <3 im glad we were friends back then and had eachother, i think thats so cool that without knowing eachother we've had that impact on one another (because honestly the people who read my fics and comment and send me anons have all supported me and made me feel less alone and lame)

Newest OC: Airrue “Rue” Chall
Rue is a new OC I have that I’m writing a story about. It’s a retelling of the clone wars and how Rue’s life gets thrown out of whack because of it. She wanted to go out on adventure, but then she is given responsibilities she hadn’t planned for and now she has to worry a lot. I’m channeling all my anxieties into her. Won’t say much more than that besides that her and he nephew Leld are just 😭💕
Oldest OC: Bes’bev
I’m choosing to show my oldest Star Wars OC because most of those from before I wish I didn’t remember. Bes’bev is a clone trooper commander/captain (can’t decide) who is inspired by orcas! My group at work used to be called the orcas and when they had a star wars phase I colored in a clone trooper with a design reminiscent of an orca pattern. Bes’bev had an injury to the neck where they replaced most of his vocal cords with mechanical parts, so when he speaks he sounds a bit like a droid. He isn’t fond of it, so he signs or whistles with his unit. Bes’bev also plays the bes’bev a Mandalorian flute that you can also stab people with.

Meanest OC: Ephrain
Ephrain was a padawan commander during the clone wars. His master was killed and he was assigned a new master. He was distraught at the loss and clung to his new master who wasn’t the greatest person. He also clung to his clone commander, Vorpan. Though Ephrain struggles to remember the clone names and just calls Vorpan ‘Victor’. It’s easier and they’ll emerge victorious, right? Makes sense to Ephrain. (He’s on the right in the picture where he turns to the dark side. Did I mention he joins the inquisitors? yeah he joins the inquisitors)

I mentioned Rue above and Leld is her nephew. He’s just so sweet and a total daydreamer. Always thinking about music in some way shape or form.
Most Aloof / Stand-offish OC: Ari Ermakeys
Ari was my favorite Pathfinder character and the one I named my tumblr after. She was an elven fire wizard with a raven as a familiar. She refused to speak with people that weren’t from her island and instead had a link with her raven, Blueberry, who would speak for her. Blueberry would tack on a condescending swear each time he’d speak. She’d blame Blueberry, but most of the time she’d been thinking it too.
Dumbest OC: Also Aran
They’re smart, but such a dumbass too. Dumb to social situations and appropriate reactions.
Smartest OC: Vorpan
Vorpan is a clone commander who is too smart and empathetic for his own good. His first general was good, but got killed and replaced by a shit general who belittled all clones and his commander didn’t see any of the clones as people except for Vorpan. His commander also called Vorpan ‘Victor’ cause he couldn’t remember and the name ‘Victor’ was a slap to the face to Vorpan because how could he feel victorious when his brothers being slaughtered by the thousands? How was a he a winner if he failed every time one of his brothers under his command was killed? Vorpan knows the system, knows the game and plays it for the sake of his brothers. Helping as many as he can escape and desert the GAR. He wishes he was brave enough to abandon his post and desert. He won’t though because he’s smart enough to realize that if he leaves, someone else who is loyal to the Republic wouldn’t help his brothers. So, Vorpan stays and plays the system. And each day another part of him breaks and dies.

not that proud of this one, mainly an "exercise" in trying to integrate sharp and rounded shapes with some form of congruity. Also i toyed around with the "teeth" and "eye" elements on another image but that piece is never seeing the light of day (yes i understand how, calling an image i made in like under an hour, a "piece" can sound pretentious and snobbish but honestly, fuck you i'll call it whatever i want).
Turns out i really like monochromatic stuff, its so easy to get a feel for how an image should look, how the different line thicknesses play off each other, how you can interrupt a motion of a line with just a slightly thicker rectangle by placing it in it's way. Color is nice too, but i feel that when placed in incapable hands, the eye wanders aimlessly and directionless, the viewer is left to their own devices to stumble through the image. It's happened to me in many ways, viewing paintings, manga panels, videos, anything visual really. At first you start feeling the image out and reading whatever text might be present, then trying to understand and digest the shapes and forms, then you attempt to piece it all together in your mind, and then finally try to make sense out of what you spent grey matter digesting for like 30 seconds. I don't know if this is just me being lower IQ than i thought i was, or what i'm talking about is never taken into account and no one cares about it.

Side:Note: While making this i was listening to a video essay about Petscop by Nexpo and goddamn it man, Youtube horror sucks ass. If the whole premise of your mystery "wha happun" series is 10 minutes of "*guy enters room* *text box pops up* I took the trash out yesterday, did you see Fanny? i think she has left us......" for 30 episodes, then it's for the non-intelligent. Any sense of wanting to piece something together is lost since i know that for piecing something together, i'll be rewarded with a clock that reads a time out 5 times in boingy sound effects and then says "Hi, did you strumple the fumples? i always forget to do that. Froobin hits me when that happens. i am le sad :(". And what the hell is up with all stories being sad nowadays?? Is everyone so jaded that they can't appreciate a normal ass happy story? "WHERE'S THE STAKES???? WHERE'S THE SUBVERSION???? WHAT??? THE GUY GETS THE GIRL AND THEY HAVE A FAMILY AT THE END??? EWWWWW." Come on man, how many depression/abuse allegories are you gonna make, and in how many tasteless ways are you gonna do it in? "In Dead Space, the stomp mechanic is tied to Isaac's weed abuse, as weed smokers stomp out the joint butts when they are done smoking". Get fucking real.
