yeah, reverse 1999 2.2 is probably the worst patch this game had, about the way they represent the location i mean. I am kinda sad about how terrible this patch is, because even with anjo nala slowly becoming my favorite character of the game, this still is the worst chapter yet. I haven't finished yet, i am probably in the middle of the chapter, but shit, the way this chapter show brazil is so bad, so, so bad.

Anjo Nala is a great character, but she is not brazillian sadly (i would love if she was brazillian), she is the best character in this chapter and she is so cute, she acts like a cat. Despite being a Succubus, she is not only about sex, this is something new to a succubus character, often reduced to just sex, sex and sex. She is sexy, a lot, but she don't have sex as her personality, she is, to be honest, really, really cute, her interactions make her look so precious. And a bit tragic too.

Lopera i don't really know what to think about her, she is not bad, kinda the opposite, i am still in the middle in the chapter and her character still is being build. She is from colombia, she looks like a cool character, might pull for her because meta reasons and her design is cool.

Now Mr. Duncan, he makes me uncomfortable, he kinda represents everything wrong with this chapter, something clearly made with little to no study about brazil, about the events that happened here in history. His skin color is only a problem because they put him in that white savior bullshit, the white dude that saves the people from the favelas (that is usually represented as people of color, with is kinda accurate, sadly). The worst part of his character is that he is a veteran brazillian soldier. This decision was taken probably without knowing about the dictatorship that happened here in brazil leaded by the military 5 years before the events of the chapter. If not the white savior bullshit, it would be totally fine if he was white, his skin color is only a problem because of the choice they made with his character.

The way they represent são paulo, one of the biggest cities in the world, is terrible, the clothes of the npcs don't look like someone would use it in their daily lives anywhere in the entirety of latin america in the 90s. The setting of the chapter looks like they wanted to make it in mexico, but was too much offensive stereotypes together, so they put favelas on it and called Brazil and são paulo, without any study or thinking. And the fact that they keep talking about how ABSOLUTE SHIT IS TO LIVE IN THAT PLACE is worse, they made it worse.

I am disappointed with bluepoch and will put that on the survey, usually never do them, but this time i will, shit like this cannot happen again. I don't have plans to stop playing the game, it is one of my favorite gacha games that i play and i have no plans to stop playing because of 2.2, but i am disappointed, a lot, and i hope they never do this shit again, for the gods, please, i really hope they never do those mistakes again.

Also spoilers of 8TH-14. A chapter foccused in the military, on brazil, in the 90s is a shit ideia, after all, the connotations of a chapter focused on the military that happens only 5 years after the end of the military dictatorship could be terrible, but looks like Zeno are the villains in this chapter, with Igor being a villain and all, working with Manus, so it makes less bad, i will discover more as i read the rest of the chapter, in a hope to get out less angry, if the chapter give me enough of Anjo Nala i will probably end more happy than angry if they don't do something worst than they have done yet.

i wish i could say that i have a special quirk…but im unfortunately kind of a boring person 😓…

maybe i can interest you with patterns i have while drawing and what i consider when drawing specific characters?

while i draw:

-can i be honest? i have no idea what i’m doing. when i render hair (especially if im faded) its like i blink and then i did all of it. don’t know how i did it, i couldnt give a tutorial if i tried

-i like to add saturated red lines randomly to everything! i know there are rules to this, but when it comes to my art i sort of yolo everything (i really shouldn’t). does it look good or does it look bad when i place it here? thats really the only question i consider, but usually it’s in areas where i notice the coloring is repetitive, and it needs an outline to make it pop.

-twst taught me this first, but i really like adding a light blue to where a dark shadow will be. for example, in hair (for the back of it) i like to add a lighter blue instead of darkening the shadow, imo, it makes it less repetitive and pop out more

-my favorite (well, i hate actually doing them, it takes ages) types of pieces when i finish them, are the ones with multiple poses of a character and then a chibi interaction! like with jade’s halloween outfit, i envisioned floyd helping him get his hair done, waking up at the crack ass of dawn (tired as fuck)

-my artwork is very blue… i just love using blue most of the time. for the saturated color laying overtop an already blue toned black dress? yeah it’s gonna be blue. the back of the hair? light blue. i just feel like it’s the easiest color to use for shading 💀

-i don’t usually draw a white dot to represent light in the eyes. the only reason i specifically talk about this is because i TRY. i always try adding a white dot and no matter what i don’t like it. no clue why

-i rarely post line-art/sketches (in comparison to my fully rendered art), this is because i fix EVERYTHING when i render. the anatomy, the hair, the posing. i can’t see my mistakes until it’s halfway done in full color and almost completed shading 😓

-(random complaint): i’m noticing a problem where the colors seem super saturated in procreate and then it just becomes really dulled down when i post it…idk whats wrong with my eyeballs

character design:

-for leech mom: i really try to balance her sexy, scary side with her cute, bubbly mom side. when i first made her, i never even considered making a leech dad. i just thought, “jade and floyd’s mom would probably be super hot…” and that’s how she was made ^^. pearls are always a must on her, i think in every piece i have of her so far she’s wearing pearls in some way. the idea of her that i always go in with when i draw her is that she’s supposed to come off as someone that would converse very cheerily, have an upbeat attitude, but you there’s something that intimidates you about her… she gives off: will smile kindly while tearing your heart out

-jade and floyd: i like to give jade a darker blue palette than floyd! maybe my eyes decieve me, but i always feel like jade’s hair looks a darker shade of teal… i could be tripping. also, i do try to take into account most times that jade has broader shoulders and floyd is slightly taller! this is just a random tidbit lol, it never affects much really. also, i do make them more muscular whenever i draw them. i know they’re lanky and i love them the way that they are but it’s just a personal preference (along with the fact that they both eat very well and are extremely active? like….) i also prefer drawing their teeth larger

-leech dad: i’m glad i came to the current design of leech dad, but i was freaking looooost when i redesigned him. the first time i made him, i hated it while drawing it. it was more of a, “whatever i drew the mom now i have to draw the dad..”. but now, i can say with 80% confidence i’m happy with the way he is. he was supposed to be more of a navy, but that navy is now mixed with tones of purple, because i can’t move the slider more towards cyan, he’ll just end up looking like leech mom. he had to also be cool toned, his kids have teal hair, so he can’t diverge from that too much right? it’s be weird if he had mostly warm tones in his palette… the things i think about when designing leech dad are: expensive (same with leech mom), old money, hot but slightly psycho looking face, looks like he has a hobby of collecting watches, but surprisingly a guy that’s not extremely moody (cough his wife and son) and well tempered

TMayNT Day 13: Best Don

Day 13 of @tmaynt Prompt: Best Don!

Oh my sweet, how I've waited for this day! It should probably come as no surprise to anyone who fallows me or anyone who saw my Day 1 entry that Donnie is my favorite turtle! Hands down, no contest!

But here comes the hard part. Choosing my favorite! Gunna be honest, it's a very hard decision. Each Donnie has a quality to them that I just adore! Intelligence! I don't like to think of myself as that smart, at least not in the way Donnie is! And I love me some soft nerdy types! And when it comes to personality, it gets even harder to pick, because literally ALL of them are just precious.

87 is smart but a bit of a dork! 2003 is...goals. Sweet, kind, has a tiny bit of spice to him, and still has the skills to pay the bills! 2007, while not having much screen time, is a reliable man.

IDW, tbh, I've yet to read the comics in full, but from what I can see, he seems a lot like a mix of both 2003, 2007, and 87 Don. As in, while he's a little more softspoken then the others, he can still hold his own in a fight! And despite having been through some clearly otherworldly shit, he's a skeptic when it comes to magic. But I love the way they wrote him! (And his death scene still makes me cry! And seeing him still deal with pain from that incident is just *Chef's kiss*!)

2012....well...I don't have much to say about him. Frankly he's my least favorite out of the bunch, and all because the writers really wanted to play fanfic writer and they leaned whyyyyy too hard into the nerd stereotype. Resulting in making him borderline creepy to April. (Not that she's perfect either because goddess on a stick I'm not getting into that today.) The one thing I'll give him is that his sarcasm in this one made his very funny to hear in banter, and I apricate that they were trying to do more then just change the skin colors to make the boys stand out from one another. (But guys...really....the gap in the teeth was just not necessary..)

The Bayverse Donnie was one that had to grow on me a little, cause I'm part of the crowed that thought they looked a bit rough. But I agree that that's kinda the point, they're mutants. They more then likely would be a little rough looking irl. But after aa bit, he does start looking pretty cute anyway! And his voice is on par with 2003, in that he just sounds so sweet! I wanna hug him! (PLUS, THE FUCKER IS 6'8"! I'M 5'3"! And I do have a weakness for taller dudes. Bonus if they wear glasses! :3)

Now, for Rise. I was once part of the Cowaboomer crowed that thought that since RISE was so different from the other versions, it was there for ruined. I've since watched it, and the movie, and if anything, I've proven that I no longer think this way! RISE Donnie tho...he had to grow on me. At first I really didn't like him. His personality was such a stark contrast from all the other versions that it was almost like he was a whole new character! And with the art style of RISE being so different, his design was quite a jolt too. (The eyebrows are...a choice.) But after a while, that smug fucking smile had me feeling a type of way. The way he'd make me laugh was starting to become infectious! And the next thing I knew, I fell for this version too! Pretty hard I might say. And while 2003 Donnie is the sweetest bean to ever grace my screen, RISE became the living definition of the meme "I'm a luxury few can afford!"! And I love him!

After that, we had the batman cross over that brought us another Donnie! Once that I'm happy didn't lean too heavy on the other versions. He looked a little like 2012, but was like a gentle mix or 2003 and Bayverse! He also got a lot more lines and personality in that movie! (As well as a broken arm! RIP)

Then Mutant Mayhem showed up, and oh my god if he isn't the same insufferable anime fan I was when I was a teen! He made me laugh, and was still an adorable little dork!

And then we have Fortnite Donnie, who...i gotta be honest, I don't play Fortnite. So I'm not sure if he or the others get much of a personality or story outside of the same story of the turtles that we all know by now. So i can't judge him based on personality. But...I do like his design. Tho I will continue to say Fortnite had NO RIGHT to make him THAT damn fine!

In the end, I love all Donnies! Some more then others, but they all mean something to me! And it was hard to choose! but in the end, I chose the two that had the most influence on me!

what are your favorite headcanons about Krypton (yours or anyone else's)

Oh god. I saw this question, and I was like, man what do I think about Krypton?

I’ve been thinking mostly about Krypton in the context of my superlantern arranged marriage au, in which (for plot reasons) it’s a communistic (in the sense that the government controls the economy) oligarchal authoritarian regime with (obviously) heavy amounts of creative liberty.

To be honest, outside of the context of Clark being from there, I don’t really think about Krypton itself that much. Honestly, I probably think about Kryptonian fashion more than I think about the overall culture (the designs from STAS are cunty as hell imo, and those fanarts where Kryptonian clothes look almost South Asian-esque? Even cuntier).

I will say, I’m not a big fan of the depictions of Krypton where it’s this militaristic colonizing empire for various reasons, one of which being that it undermines the illegal immigrant / refugee aspect of Clark’s character. But I also don’t love the depictions where it’s this futuristic utopia that Clark is supposed to be a shining paragon of to Earth, because that feels…weird. Like, to me Clark is just a guy? And that also feels, somehow, like it’s dehumanizing the Kryptonians via exoticizing them? Like, I know they are literal aliens, obviously, but in my head, Krypton is just another civilization, where they definitely have technology more advanced than Earth but the people aren’t inherently morally better or worse than humans inherently are. People are people everywhere yk yk

I think the only Krypton headcanons I put in my writing consistently is that Kryptonian sexes/genders aren’t 1:1 with the gender binary Earth typically has (at least, in the dominant western culture). I just find it unlikely that alien genitalia can look exactly like human genitalia, even if you can chalk up the rest to convergent evolution and/or Jor-El purposefully picking a planet where the people look like Kryptonians for Clark to grow up on. I also find it unlikely that a bunch of alien cultures (cough, looking at u Green Lantern lore) would only have 2 genders. Like, tons of cultures on Earth already have 3 or more genders, why would aliens have only 2??? (shoutout to Katma Tui, who I hear says that she specifically is not the same gender as a human woman)

Because that was a total nothingburger of an answer, I’m going to hijack this question to talk a little more about some of the worldbuilding I’m doing for the superlantern arranged marriage au. Here are some of those aforementioned creative liberties:

birthing matrices are actually only available to the upper class because they're expensive (which makes Krypton an extremely eugenicist society, also). This has made it so the upper class is basically “genetically optimized” into peak physical condition a la Batman or Deathstroke—not as powerful as canon Superman is, for sure, but still gives them a major unfair advantage over the middle and lower classes in a lot of things. (This will also make the high class far less genetically diverse, which this AU’s version of Lex will take advantage of. Haha spoilers for something I might never write)

the whole society is basically a society of those STEM majors who think they’re superior to hums majors and that the humanities are pointless and dumb

culturally, Krypton is isolationist and xenophobic because they used to be the Kryptonian Empire, before one of their enemies attacked and exploded their moon, and then they withdrew their troops to be closer to home to protect themselves, a la the fall of Rome

people who can afford it (so, high class people, really) make clones of themselves so they can 1) have potential organ donors for themselves and/or 2) have kids that don't have anyone else's genes in them. The only reason lower class people have clones is if they sold the rights to their DNA to a company that wants to make clones of them, like, say, if they wanted to make clones of a really beautiful person to become prostitutes (is that fucked up or what? Anyway, I'm Rod Sterling).

Clones can't vote for the logical argument that then people could be able to clone themselves for infinite votes. (This authoritarian regime does technically have elections.) This is logical, but it does not allow clones their own political voice and kinda makes it legally institutionalized the sentiment that clones cannot become their own person

Krypton was supposed to explode because of overmining destabilizing the planet's core like 20 years ago, but Jor-El, in this Krypton lives AU, saved them! Yippee!! (but they still have high environmental and economic consequences to deal with! Namely, earthquakes, a la For The Man Who Has Everything)

I have homebrewed some completely canon inaccurate "rules" as to how surnames work. In canon, it seems to be that women generally take their father's full names as last names, and men just take their House names, but because I also homebrewed an unnecessarily elaborate gender caste system AND I wanted Clark's name to be Kalark Jor-El instead of just Kal-El (BEAR WITH ME I KNOW IT SOUNDS STUPID BUT I CAN'T WRITE A SHIP BETWEEN TWO GUYS NAMED KAL AND HAL), I also had to figure out the surname rules.

SO basically, the lineage system is ramage-based (which I learned about from this Worldbuilding Notes video), which here, basically means that when you marry, you and your spouse can choose to be either of your House or of your spouse's House, regardless of both of your genders, and then your child will be considered part of that ramage. If you and your spouse go under your House, then your child can either take your name as a double-barrelled surname or the House name as a single-barrelled one, but not your spouse's name or their House's name. The Head of House will always take the name of the House as their surname, as will those in the House who either intend to be in line for the Head position or are of the gender kiaz that traditionally becomes the Head of House. For example, Seyg-El (a kiaz) is the Head of the House of El, and Zor-El (a kiaz, albeit younger than Jor-El) likewise only takes "El" as their surnames.

Other genders traditionally take their ramage-line parent's full name as their surname, although there has been a decent breakdown in gender norms, enough so that many (though not most) Kryptonians of other genders simply take the single-barrelled House name, rather than their parent's full name. One example of this in my story is Jor-El himself (a miffa, the lowest gender in the hierarchy), who is a pretty progressive guy (for a noble), and took on a single-barrelled name to reflect his progressiveness/modernness. Kinda like how women IRL will keep their own surnames after marriage or give their kids double-barrelled surnames that are combinations of their own surnames and their husbands'. However, Kalark himself takes on his father's name as a double-barrelled surname, even though he also is a modern and progressive miffa, because he's proud that his father is the Savior of Krypton.

clones simply take the surname of the House, but more like in a "property of the House" kinda way rather than a "I am the House" kinda way. This AU's Kon-El is an example, but this AU's version of Lex Lu-Thor (a Kryptonian if you couldn't tell by the name lmao) is an exception because he wanted to make it clear that he wants people to think of him as Lu-Thor's son more than his clone (Lex is Lu-Thor's clone here, and so is Kon. I swear this makes sense in-story).

Krypton used to be an ally of Mars

the people of Krypton (as do the rest of the galaxy) generally respect the Green Lantern Corps, bu they specifically very much distrust the Guardians because they know what they did to Mars

um. yeah that's pretty much it! Krypton to me is neither a dystopia nor a utopia, and though it's its own distinct culture and civilization, it can reflect IRL Earth in interesting allegorical ways, like the city in Green Lantern: Far Sector.

Moodboards for @lmkobsessedmoth

Bro, where did my motivation go for me to be posting moodboards during the LAST MONTH OF 2024 ?! I don’t know but I am and still am ashamed. But hey, I’m here now. No time to procrastinate again when creativity means doing things for fun. And I admit, this was pretty fun. As the title suggests, these moodboards are dedicated to @lmkobsessedmoth who, I’m going to be honest, is one of the more nuanced artists in the LMK community. And one of the more underrated, I would say. They are the creator of the Death AU, an AU in which MK dies and is helped by their OC Yu Ling…At first. I don’t think it’s called the Death AU anymore and has a whole new plotline that involves spirits and monsters alike.

Which is understandable. Creators are able to change whatever they want about their AU and the characters within it. Lord knows how much I go back and forth on my own creations- Loyd, you’re my kindred spirit in that sense- But enough about that. I wanted to make moodboards, I made moodboard and you will now see the moodboards ! I’m back for now, baby, so let’s get the train moving !

Side note, I only made two moodboards for @lmkobsessedmoth ‘s main OC’s (Yu Ling and Diedie). I might be interested in making some for the others if we receive more about them. But for now, this is what I got.

First up is the main girl herself, Yu Ling. Or the Daughter of Death, as her title says. From what I know, Yu Ling is a being whose fate was reset by the gods, Erland and Guanyin. I believe her powers have something to do with souls and spirits. And in order to get that power, there was a deal made with the ten Yama Kings and she has been their student ever since, gaining many injuries from the accident which didn’t affect her. Though her origins were very different as in the beginning of the Death AU, she was originally meant to be a guide for MK when he died and helped him on his adventures.

Concept wise, that is a strong one. I’ve studied stories and writing before and I’ve always been one to enjoy anything relating to things like spirits and souls. So I really enjoyed learning about the AU. Even though things have changed, seeing Yu Ling change through it was also fun. Her design is both, dare I say, simplistic yet fancy. Loyd has managed the art of being able to replicate the artstyle of LMK almost seamlessly and Yu Ling looks like she could pass to be one of the characters. Simple but with just enough to make her stand out. Not to mention her character is pretty neat. When I was asking permission from her creator to make this, I asked them what represented her and I was answered souls, jade and stars. I think I leaned more into angsty territory by adding those quotes though. I dunno. I felt like they matched well enough. So I’ll give myself a pass. It goes with the picture I chose of Yu Ling well enough, I feel like.

Next is Diedie or Dandelion Child ! I’m gonna be honest and probably get hated for it but I think she’s more of my favorite than Yu Ling. Don’t get me wrong, both are great but I always did have an affinity for child characters. Especially…Ugh, tragic child characters. Loyd, who gave you the right to create one of the cutest little beans and put her through so much ? Is that even legal ? I doubt it. But it is what it is. From my research, Diedie is a child from 1920’s China. She became the guardian of an ancient artifact called the Lotus Reliquary after stopping a demon from destroying it. Diedie is also nonverbal and is seen as, and I quote, an INFECTION, by the villagers because of this and the way she acts.

Which…Bro, that makes me SO mad. If I had a choice, I’d burn that village down myself. But hey, fire is already a thing in Diedie’s story so I can’t do that. That’s all I can put in here. Honestly I don’t know T.T I only play on console and I’ve never tried any of the mods. I do have tboi on my pc but the brick struggles enough with the base game already and I don’t want it to explode lmao. I could try with my partner’s pc sometimes, but to be honest, I’m not very good at the game in general (and I haven’t played in literal years), so I think I wouldn’t really have fun with any of the mods. Fiend Folio seems interesting, but it’s too difficult for baby me, and I already hate melee characters so Samael wouldn’t be my first pick. My personal favourite character mod is Andromeda, but only because I like the design and the story i could build with it. Did you know that Andromeda is the wife of Perseus in Greek mythology? Now you do. I took that idea and ran with it and thus Perseus was born (and his askblog that’s NOT DEAD I PROMISE T.T)

As for what mods might appear in the story… I don’t know! When I first started coming up with concepts Samael had a decently big role in it. He was supposed to be the angel of death (before I gave that role to one of my OCs, Azrael) and his part in the story got shuffled around so now it’s actually Eden’s. He’s just kinda there now, I’m sorry skfjhskh maybe I’ll have him make a cameo sometimes.

Other than that there’s the Epiphany mod, but only Tarnished Judas has found a way into the story so far (link, link, link) and it’s here because I liked the idea of Judas fighting back against Belial’s possession and using his powers against him to save his loved ones.

Edith (does she count as a mod?) also exists in my universe I guess, but she’s literally a pillar of salt. For all intents and purposes she’s dead, but her soul is still trapped in the salt and can’t go to heaven yet. Thankfully God also put her into a deep sleep so she wouldn’t go completely mad, having to spend all eternity waiting for the Apocalypse. Have a link.

Rebekah does exist in my universe, but I made the OC waaaay before I knew a mod existed with the same name. I had an inside joke with a friend that Mod Rebekah was just a fangirl who was obsessed with Isaac and his comics, but it was a bit dumb and it never got past the joke stage lol. I’m not going to have a yandere in my story for now.

I guess also Fiend from Fiend Folio could technically exist in my AU? He’d be just a regular demon, so he’s probably kicking around in Hell right now. I don’t really know what he might do in the story, probably not much, but I’m keeping him in mind as a wild card I could always use.

Sorry this wasn’t the answer you were hoping for T.T I know literally nothing about character mods aside from the bigger ones, and I’ve never played anything that wasn’t the base game. Have these as an apology.

Others have already been furrying the Raincode characters and doing a phenomenal job, but when I would peruse Danganrompa fanart I really liked seeing different and wildly varying interpretations for the characters' animal choices and now it is my turn, my GOD GIVEN DUTY TO PROVIDE IN THE GENISIS OF THE RAINCODE FANDOM, FOR THE HONOR OF THOSE WHO HAVE COME BEFORE ME.

For all of them I used their pose from the artbook renders. I'll say it's to keep them recognizable but that is actually a lie I'm just lazy.

Secretary Bird Halara:

Halara I did first and they were the one I was most jazzed to do because I love them dearly. I made them a secretary bird and I think it's a PERFECT fit. Ahem allow me to rattle off. Secretary birds are birds, so doomed by the narrative to have to stay away from cats, they are predatory birds and of course Halara would be at the top of the food chain. Speaking of predetory birds, secretary birds are known for their ability TO KICK VENOUMOUS SNAKES TO DEATH, AND THATS JUST TOO GOOD A FIT. They also have plumage that I could easily shape into Halara's kinda smooth swoopy hairstyle, and face markings that could be sort of representative of their glasses! I think the drawing for them is probably the weakest out of the group just because as I went along I improved and started to translate the human designs in less one to one ways, plus the pose Halara has in the artbook doesn't fit perfectly to the really big wing hand things. I still enjoyed making it because H A L A R A N I G H T M A R E but I'm honestly kinda sad at how lackluster it is compared to Fubuki and Viva who got the most interesting details and texture work. NEVER DO YOUR FAVORITE FIRST IT'S A TRAP.

Guinea Pig Desuhiko:

With Desuhiko I was going back and fourth between a few rodents, I just think he kinda looks like one and already had those pikachu cheeks. My first scetch made him a hamster, and while it DID look like him, it felt a little too... Indistinct. Desuhiko's probably my favorite design in the cast just because he looks so distinctive and has a short stocky bodytype I really really love and makes my character designer brain happy, so I swapped hamster for guinea pig. While the guinea pig face doesn't look like him quite as much as the hamster, they are very interesting and distinctive looking which I loved a lot more even with a bit of accuracy sacrificed if that makes sense. Also there are Guinea pigs with spikey wild fur that make it so I could just kinda give him his actual hair and still have it make sense. Guinea pigs are also the perfect size and shape to be thrown like a large softball and out of all the Master Detectives Desuhiko looks like he'd be the most sadisfying to chuck across a room.

Fish Fubuki:

Fubuki was really hard just because it's difficult to anthropomorphize a fish in the same way as a mammal or a avian cause of their structure. She might look a biitttt more like a fantasy creature inspired by a fish than just a fish but she's charming enough I don't completely mind. I got some SOLID advice and looked at some Splatoon NPCs characteristics to try and make her more appealing. So why fish? I got it as a suggestion that I ended up really liking because fish are notorious for their bad memory, live in tanks their whole lives(Fubuki is the definition of sheltered), and they have fins to mimic the shape of Fubukis cloak and hair. I used beta fish for reference, they don't really fit her but just being a fish was good enough for me and at that point I was prioritizing looks. She doesn't even really look like any specific species like the other three to be honest. She's defiantly the outlier of the group but that's fine, she can be special in her own unique way like always. Got a little lazy with making the hair look all that fin-like, but it's kinda the main event of her human design so I wanted to keep it as true to that as possible but looking at it now I think its tooooo copy and paste looking. Her furry design IS my brothers favorite out of the batch so that's gotta count for something!

Flying Fox Bat Vivia:

The vampire looking man was always gonna be a bat, I am but a slave to the whims of fate. I made him specifically a flying fox because they're the largest bat species and therefore can loom ominously. Vampire bat would have been fun too, but they have more of a squished bastard energy that doesn't really fit Vivia. Bats also are known for their weird sleeping habits, ala upside. Viva isn't sleeping upside down or anything like that but he DOES snooze in some weird places so I think comparing him to a bat in multiple aspects is very apt! His drawing and animal design is probably my favorite, I really like the wings, and the bat feet are super weird I loved doing those. I did have trouble incorperating his hair, flying foxes have pretty smooth heads, but they do have sort of a mane thing going on so I tried to put some of his hair texture and shape there instead. Sorry I did not give him is edgy edgy hair cut, I too love it very much but it was simply not to be. I did try to mimic it's vibe with the patterning on his head though, an illusion of his bangs.

I'm very happy with this lineup overall, they're some neat little designs if I do say so myself! I might do more but I have the chronic problem of not being able to sit still for a long time to do a BUNTCH of guys again(though for the record I would make Seth the most delightfully storm drain gutter looking creature). I also kinda wanna do Makoto and Yuma cause someone suggested a REALLY good idea for them, but the concept for Makoto with this idea would be more of an involved design that I wouldn't be able to use all of his normal outfit for so it'd probably take longer than average.

This is gonna be another long-ish spoiler post for F/SR, so don't click if you haven't learned Rider's True Name yet

Also slight spoilers for Fate/Extra CCC Foxtail and maybe Shimousa but those are old enough that I doubt people care

I really need to hear the opinion of someone who doesn't know much about Fate play Samurai Remnant. I feel like most of us where able to guess a lot of the new Servants based off connections they had to pre-established ones. Rider's probably one of two exceptions because her reveal is supposed to be this huge "what the fuck" moment - and it is, but I feel like that mostly hinges on the player knowing Fate's version of Minomoto-no-Raikou.

Ushi Gozen has been teased for years. Raikou's always been one of the many Servants that mentions how her Berserker Saint Graph isn't the only one we might aee of her (edit 1: I didn't play FGO when it first released so I didn't know this, but apparently Ushi actually shows up in the same event Raikou's introduced in). In Foxtail, we see her used as a prarallel to Suzuka, since both have connections to Oni. The most prominent tease is in Shimousa, where we actually see Ushi Gozen appear, but with the same design as Raikou for budget reasons I guess (edit 2: No we don't, that's just Raikou, but she has the Rider class so I misremembered her there as Ushi Gozen). And now she's actually here! She gets her own game! And she looks...

Girl what the fuck happened to you

I really like both of her designs to be honest. She's one of the few Servants to be wearing actual samurai armor, and she's the first to wear the helmet too I'm pretty sure. Then after Saber kicks the shit out of her, the armor falls apart and we see that she's in a much worse state than any of us expected. Her hair's cut short, her eyes are dead with noticeable bags, her skin's paler than it was before, and she barely looks like she's eaten anything. Those last two could also be said about Raikou (Raita for the love of god learn to draw human women properly) but on Rider they're noticeably worse. Also she seems crazier than her Berserker form, albeit a different kind of crazy.

When we fight her the second time in Chapter 5, she shows up with these awesome robot-like spider legs reminiscent of what Ushi-oni are usually described with. She doesn't look human because her humanity was seemingly beaten out of her. Raikou tends to suffer from what I like to call "the Altera Problem", where if used right she can be a really genuine and badass character, but 90% of the time she's used for jokes and to get people's dicks hard. However in things like Foxtail, or Shimousa (which is even more apparent in the manga), or Heian-Kyo we get to see her for how she really is, which is A) terrifying and B) a hero worthy of going down as one of humanity's best. Rider is only that first one. No jokes, no big tits, just pure unadulturated "you're gonna die" energy.

Rider's the first Servant we ever see in Samurai Remnant. She's the first one Iori encounters, leveling his house in the prologue and acting as the tutorial boss to show the player "hey you can't fucking take these guys on", and in the teaser trailer (which shows that scene) she's one of three Servants who are actually shown to us - the other two being SR's Saber and everyone's favorite bisexual dimension hopper, Musashi. I could write a whole other post about Shousetsu and Iori (maybe I will who knows) but Rider follows their dynamic. She's a strong parallel to Saber. Fuck she basically is Saber if they didn't have people like Ototachibana-Hime and Iori to keep them grounded.

All of the new Servants are super cool (with the exception of Caster that bitch ass nerd), but I think Rider's possibly the coolest. I mean, I've been wanting Samson since I got into Fate and you haven't seen me make any real posts about him because Minamoto-no-Raikou, one of my least favorite Servants, has got me in a vicegrip. I don't know if she's my favorite, but I'll definitely be saving for if she ever comes into FGO

What are your thoughts (if you have any) on the respective love interests the rest of the F7 are shown meeting in the end credits? 🎤 me personally I never really saw the three tin girls we see alongside the triplets as their love interests, I always thought they built them and are therefore (technically) their daughters; mostly because I think it’s a bit boring to pair up the triplets with other triplets idk that’s just me 🤷

okay, so technically i have A LOT of thoughts, which is hilarious considering we don't know anything about these characters; not even their names. i've just been thinking up fan fiction so long that i've basically created entire oc's around them. so i'll give my initial thoughts and then what i've personally come up with!

little red riding hood has never been a super interesting character to me. rather, her initial persona has never been interesting to me. it's a good fairytale on its own, but nothing about red herself had ever stood out to me. all of the different interpretations of her over the years, however, have been really fun. her "once upon a time" interpretation is probably my favorite, and it plays into one of the BEST tropes that has come out for red riding hood over the years--which "red shoes" also does--is red riding hood herself being the wolf.

i think arthur and werewolf red riding hood could be very fun for various reasons. werewolves are monsters, something merlin states in the beginning that the fearless 7 are called to deal with regularly. arthur also puts a lot of value and his self-worth into his physical strength, and as a werewolf red riding hood would no doubt be much stronger than him. these are prejudices arthur would have to climb over (i don't see arthur as sexist, but he cares so much about being strong that a tiny girl like red being five times stronger than him would no doubt bug him), allowing him to grow as a person and love red riding hood for who she is.

ugh. to be honest, this is my least favorite. it really feels like they just didn't know what to do for jack; i can't seem to find the JPEG anymore, but if what i found was genuine concept art then they were originally just going to make a merman that looks... just like jack? thank GOD somebody said that was a stupid idea (again, if that was real concept art), so then we ended up with this. YES, i know the moral, but i just... don't really see what they were going for with this.

admittedly, i did make up an oc for jack, whom i will eventually put out more art for (because i do genuinely want to write something), and i did keep the water theme. i liked the idea of arthur having to overcome a major prejudice so much that i came up with the same concept for jack by making up a sea witch companion for him.

this is no doubt sleeping beauty, and honestly it is probably the funniest one out of them all. true loves kiss who? no, just make some damn good food and sleeping beauty will come running. making female characters (especially princesses) messy eaters with lousy table manners is absolutely nothing new, and i'm certain someone somewhere has paired them up with a foodie with exceptional cooking skills before, but it's still an endearing duo and a very fitting choice for hans. he doesn't strike me as particularly picky, he and the triplets honestly seem the less vain out of the seven; he just wants to cook and bake for someone he loves. it's very sweet, and i like sleeping beauty's design here.

i also agree with you that these automatons are not meant to be girlfriends. hell, the triplets seem content in their dwarf forms. i think the automatons are just assistants that happen to look female. to be honest, i think it'd be hilarious if somebody, maybe arthur, joked that they couldn't find anybody they each clicked with so they just made companions, and the triplets just go "what, no, we needed help in the workshop since you're too afraid of little oil and grime."

🛌: What tropes show up in fics involving your ship?

So here’s something interesting I’ve noticed about ships involving HSR Carmen - she tends to either end up in a dichotomy (like with Kafka, where they are the Trailblaze and the Finality respectively), or in a ship with someone who deeply resembles her in some way (like with Himeko). Acheron is an interesting example where both are kind of applicable, as both are kind of wandering around the galaxy with no hard ties because of their backgrounds, but also they have what’s probably best described as a sun and moon dynamic. Also, this one’s a platonic example, but I have to include Aventurine for both being a narrative foil to Carmen, but also one that both resembles her in some ways design-wise and does have some poignant similarities to her.

🤪: What is your trait that fanon would exaggerate?

My honest guess is it would be her diva and hater tendencies. They’re definitely there, particularly when she’s interacting with Aventurine and he’s feeding into them, but she’s not completely unreasonable. I do think she’d get the “hater and a gatekeeper but God’s favorite princess” treatment, which is funny and I definitely make that joke about her, but it can be exhausting when that’s all they boil her character down to. Also, because most of the targets of her Hater Behavior happen to be men, I absolutely dread to think that there would be a fringe group of the fandom that would construe it as man-hating — I mean, come on, she’s bisexual!

❤️: How popular is you x your f/o? Are you a rarepair?

We discussed this in vc but I’m putting it here for the world to see! I think her most popular ship for sure would be her and Acheron, because they’d get to interact a lot in the Penacony arc and the chemistry would be pretty natural. Himeko/Carmen and Kafka/Carmen would follow right after, because Himeko also gets some good interactions with her during Penacony, and as I’m planning it now, Kafka is an important figure in her character quest. Everything beyond that is probably less common, but maybe not necessarily rare.

The Kurt boss battle made me sweat, that man s'quick! AND THE MUSIC... Always felt like it was tied to the voodoo boys somehow? Tho the vibes makes sense, considering it's kind of theeee Blackwall theme-ish

When Reed talks about getting against MaxTac my jaw dropped like-- ARE YOU FOR REAL RIGHT NOW.......

Then came the battle against MaxTac- AND AGAIN... What a battle, I legit can't say right now which big fight I prefered outta the whole EP cause they were all so good

The game SLOWLY BUT SURELY got more and more spooky, into straight up TERRIFYING, I did NOT expect that at all, holyfuck!

And it worked SO WELL TOO, of COURSE anything tied to the blackwall would be horrifying

So LET ME TELL YOU When I started to grasp where the game was heading, I shat myself full time

When I thought it couldn't get any better, any spookier- the game kept on delivering, somehow

It got really dark, stressful, gory, haunting

I decided to kill So Mi at the end

Seeing moments of So Mi's past, of how she got there- it was hard to not feel for her, even tho I never really trusted her, too many red flags and manipulation, V was just a token in achieving what she wanted, just like Myers was, just like Kurt was. But she didn't deserves to be kept as a pupet, a tool

The ride with Reed made me feel really numb, and so did the talk with Myers. Sittin with Reed and watchin him walk off in the distance....

I feel empty ghfhgf that one ending didn't felt satisfying at all- BUT I don't mean it in a bad way!! I like it, I think this was supposed to feel like this! So Mi is dead, whatever hope you had to deal with the Relic died with her, Reed wanted to save her, Myers NEEDED her alive- it's a miracle V can even walk it off freely even

Little tidbits now, I didn't played through all of the new gigs either, so I'm going back to do these, as well as try all the other endings!

Sadly as expected, not a lot- if anything- new for us nomads lover 😞 I liked the cameo of Panam and Carol, sending Paco and Babs to the Aldecaldos to get out of DTown felt comfy too, as well as all the dialogue options! It felt nice to get those opportunities to bring our past! And we did get some crumbs of interesting lore

God and like- what I like the most in games are the Characters, and PL is up there with some amazing peeps! I'll try to rank them from most to least liked

Starting with Alex, probably my favorite of the 5 main! There were a lot of good moment with her, she felt the most... genuine? Might be naive, but I love good hearted, honest characters, and she felt the more "human" out of the bunch even if she did and does horrible things

Second place comes Kurt, man knows what he want and how to get it, can respect that. Wished we could learn more on him actually, maybe I missed a lot of content

Reed was interesting, too secretive for my taste- and that's normal duh he's a spy, but as expected I didn't felt too connected ( and just to be CRYSTAL CLEAR, that doesn't mean he's a bad character! Not vibing with a character doesn't mean they're badly writen or built)

SongBird started off STRONG at the top of my list, but the more she sugarcoated and smooth-talked V into helped her, the more a lot of red flags started to pop. Lot of lines reminded me of similar convo I had IRL with people that turned out to be shitty, so it send off alarms in my head 💀 NOPE...

and finally Myers, who I never trusted and rightfully so

All of them are incredible characters, made me parano on who to trust, who to believe

All of the minor NPCs are so memorable too? I absolutly loved Slider, the voodooboy dude? His design was insane! Loved meeting all of the different peeps during Kurt's party too, and LIZZY'S CONCERT??? AYO... Was simply incredible

Fucking love this game man. You can really see CDPR took their time with it, fucking nailed it too... Letting go of the last console gen was a good choice, Dogtown is gorgeous, all the visual effects are breathtaking--

hi who are your favourite touhou characters and why im mostly curious about the why

amazing question! the following list is in no particular order. wriggle does happen to be my favorite but it’s not by a huge margin or anything

first up we got wriggle herself. i’m gonna be honest the way i interpret her bears absolutely no resemblance to her canon character, but i think that the fandom has generally kind of adopted an interpretation of her that’s nothing like her in canon so i excuse it if everyone else does it.

why i like her? really cool design obviously the cape is really sick. what actually draws me to her though is mostly the fact that she’s a member of team 9. she’s basically just “kind of silly bug woman who’s really weird about bugs” which creates a lot of really funny relationships with other characters. i tend to write her as more of the “average person” of the group which also makes her relationship with mystia that write about a lot really fun because it’s just these two pranksters that are background characters from a story perspective and a life perspective (i mean they really are just random youkai). basically everything involving her is just… really casual, and fuzzy. she just doesn’t have a whole lot going on

also i get to write her being autistic about bugs which is really fun.

another one of my favorite characters is remilia, who i’ve only really had an excuse to write once. i go into way more detail about this in microsm chapter 6 but basically i just really love her contrasts. i like writing her as both childish and mature, both fearsome and welcoming, both powerful and vulnerable. it’s clear she does care very dearly for those in the mansion and i just love giving her a soft side where she does want the best for everyone, even if she looks evil. oh she eats people? god forbid women do anything

also because she’s a vampire who owns a badass huge western mansion. that’s so cool

in addition we have reimu, who i honestly just find to be a really nuanced character. i love writing her getting really existential about her life and getting worried about shit. i kind of project onto her sometimes but we’re not here to discuss that. she has a very interesting personality, fluctuating between stern or sad or determined or funny depending on even the slightest factors. being the main character she’s had the most actual stuff happen to her, she has the most story and has the most relationships with other characters. there’s really anything you can do with her, and if you can get her personality right then you can even make a good story out of her going on a walk. case in point: residual by me

the next ones i don’t really like for such complex reasons i’m not gonna lie

ran, who is probably my #2, is just a really nice character. it’s fun to write her being all motherly to chen, it’s fun to write her being a calculator for yukari, it’s fun to write about her being gay obviously, and i really like her character design. she’s just nice and i would definitely be friends with her if that were possible. i’m aroace but whatever the equivalent of a waifu is for aroaces? she’s that to me. i don’t wanna fuck her i just am obsessed with her non-romantically

lightning round:

i like sakuya because her time ability is really cool and it’s fun to write about this woman working herself to death. also bonus points because i love the sdm

aunn because she’s a really fucking funny dog

mystia because she’s a team 9 member too except she also does cooking and is in a band and i get to write her being gay with wriggle

kyouko because she’s really loud and also has a job at the temple and is also in a band

youmu because i like to imagine she has a huge inner conflict. read: any of my youmu x ran works

seija because she has so much potential to be a really interesting character, arguably even more than Reimu. i just haven’t wrote her because i still can’t get her character down

the entire palace of earth spirits because their family dynamic is absolutely hilarious and actually they’re all really funny characters even on their own

1. the character everyone gets wrong

Trick question, it is not possible for everyone to be wrong about anything in Dragon Age fandom because that implies that there's something everyone agrees on. 😉

jk jk that's a cop out. But seriously, for any question that says "everyone" just assume I'm making a wobbly-hand gesture next to it and we all understand hyperbole. Okay.

I think at this point I'm probably at least somewhat known for spreading the good word of Sera. 😉 And at this point I really don't think most misconceptions about her are malicious--I remember a day when Sera was much more widely hated, but she isn't anymore, which is nice! I think some of the more out-there takes on Sera (and about the Friends of Red Jenny) just come from that fact that she actively deflects personal questions until she trusts the Inquisitor, and not everyone looks past the surface-level answers she gives to realize there's more to it. My go-to example is the idea that she magically knew archery from birth and no one ever taught her anything (she didn't, and someone did). Between her dialogue, and World of Thedas, it's possible to put together a fair amount about the timeline of her childhood, when Lady Emmald died, the history of Red Jenny, etc.

But it does take some close attention and some digging and some math (ugh), and let's be real, none of us can know everything about every character! I'll just keep writing about her, because I love her.

6. which ship fans are the most annoying?

Honest to god, for me personally: no one. Maybe that'll change one day, but I hang with a lot of people who ship a lot of ships and none of them bother me. I have like one NoTP in the vast canon that is Dragon Age and you probably don't even know who it is because I don't care enough to talk about it. Hell, I have mutuals who ship it, and it doesn't bother me. You guys are cool.

8. common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about

This isn't like One Opinion, but a more overarching Thing: in general I think it would be great if there was more understanding of like, How Video Games Are Made, in general. I think it would lead to more focused and productive criticism of games better targeted at where the problems in development actually are. I feel like I see a lot of things that are almost certain attributable to Process Issues attributed instead to Active Malice. On the flip side, it's frustrating to point out something cool and have people always respond with "Well Bioware is too stupid to have done that on purpose," like there aren't writers and designers in this industry who are incredibly passionate about their work and the themes they can weave into it even at the level of chaos they're forced to work within.

22. your favorite part of canon that everyone else ignores

I think because they're such wonderfully complex and well-developed characters, and because romances, the companions are always the juggernauts in the fandom and they always will be. And I love those characters, too. But one of my favorite things about the Dragon Age universe is the many wonderful minor characters where we get to see just enough of their story to make me feel like they do have a whole life they're living just offscreen somewhere, and set my imagination off running. Gods vs Humans. Who will win?

Ragnarok has come and the gods are ready to end all of humanity but the Valkyrie Brunhilde is here to put a stop to that plan. She proposes the idea of a tournament; Gods vs Humans. Whoever reaches 7 wins will be named the final winner. The prize? The saving or destruction of humanity. If the humans win, humanity will be safe for at least another 1000 years, and if the Gods win? Humanity will cease to exist.

Have you ever wanted to watch Jack the Ripper fight a god? What about Rasputin or Adam (of Adam & Eve)? Well, this series is just for you! You can watch as humans from history take on a variety of gods from different religions/mythologies. Some of which include Poseidon, Beezlebub, Shiva, Anubis, and More.

What drew me into reading this series was seeing the list of who the human fighters were. The absurdity of Jack the Ripper fighting a god, honestly had me laughing, and then after seeing who the other fighters were, I knew I had to check it out.

If I’m being honest I didn’t really care for the first fight, it was nothing special in my opinion, but by the end of the 2nd fight I found myself looking forward to more and it’s with the 3rd fight that I found myself fully drawn in and consumed by the series. I’m now officially obsessed and I have spent probably more money than I should have on merch 🤣

This is a series I highly recommend if you like mythology, history, fighting games, and tournaments. However for mythology and history lovers, please be aware that this series and its portrayal of the characters aren't realistic or how they are often described.

The personalities and the overall character designs are very interesting, to say the least. Zeus looks way older than his brothers even tho he is the youngest. Buddha looks like an e-boy, and Loki looks like a twink which isn’t surprising but I don’t understand the green hair since he was often said to be a ginger in mythologies 🤣. King Leonidas looks like he stepped out of G.I. Joe or something. The character designs are so far out there but honestly, it's one of my favorite parts. I’m always looking forward to seeing what a character is going to look like.

Currently, the series is being printed by Viz Media as part of their VIZ Sig line, with Vol. 7 being the most current release. Physically the English version is far behind Japan, with Japan being at vol 19 (I believe), and with Viz only releasing 4 volumes a year it’s going to be a long while before we’re caught up physically. However luckily for us impatient people, the app Manga Hot has an English translation for Record of Ragnarok and you can catch up pretty close with Japan. I think it's only a few chapters behind.

Another thing I want to mention briefly was the anime. There is an anime for this series and it’s available to watch on Netflix but I don’t recommend it. It really does a terrible job of depicting the scenes from the manga. It lacks the emotion, the thrill of the fights, and the art is a disgrace to the manga. (They made my boy Poseidon ugly 😭) However, If you do want to watch it I highly recommend you wait till after you read the manga.

As long as you don't take it too seriously, I think many people would enjoy reading this series. It's fun, chaotic, and always has you on the edge of your seat.
