It had been a while since Trey had felt grounded, there wasnt much left in his system to fight. The drama that had seemed to envelop the whole town fell squarely in his home, and it was exhausting. He had spent so long trying to be Trey, the level headed, easy to love, forgiving man that he had always been known to be, but rage festered through him. He needed piper. He took a breath in and tried his best to let the drive to the police station be a calming one, but with every person who cut him of, when his phone died in the middle of the song he was listening to, when the ads on the radio wouldnt stop. Rage found its way through him again. He parked in the closest spot he could and made his way through the doors. “sheriff palmer please” he said to the woman at the desk. He was greeted warmly and brought back to her. The sight of the red head was all he needed. “come on P, tell me you can ditch and lets go climb the water tower like we used to”

After getting home and spilling the news to Grace and Nova, Grey was stillon some emotional high. He’d tried contacting Trey, but hadn’t heard anything, so his next go to was Piper. The pair over the years had gotten to know each other rather well, but in the last few months, they’d gotten close and he considered her a very close friend of his. Someone he wanted to share exciting news with. He’d decided to call her on FaceTime so he could see her reaction when he told her. “Hey, are you busy right now? I know it’s late..” He spoke as he saw her answer the video call.
