So I just finished Firefly which like I didn’t know was a big deal until I went on ao3 expecting like 20 fics only for there to be over 7k and then learned it was canceled, and now that I’ve finished the only season ever made my jaw is on the FLOOR. for whatever reason i just find it fvckin hilarious in the firefly episode where the guy working for niska is being so dramatic like ‘i will hunt you to the ends to the earth and the blade of my knife will be the last thing you will see’ and mal’s just like ‘darn’ and kicks him into the spinning engine like lol you dead

and when he does it with the other guy working with niska and he’s just like ‘YUH UH HUH ILL GET HIM THE MONEY oh god please don’t kill me-‘

In every universe, Shepherd Book was destined to be the first one of the crew to die.

It had been a long time since Death had seen someone of his kind. Taking a book down, skeletal hands ran over the leather cover, carefully cracking it open to a page near the back.

The specter watched as the man was shot, as he sacrificed himself, as he was sacrificed by design over and over again.

Pulling down another book, blazing blue eyes saw the dead, dead, dying shepherd choke on his own breath or blood or the million mistakes and choices he'd made back then and made even now.

An infinite number of universes, an infinite amount of deaths. What a shame.

Death quietly put the books back on the ever growing shelf and pulled a timer out of the folds of His robes.

It was almost time.

As soon as the last few grains of sand fell to the bottom of the lifetimer and Death greeted Book like the old friends they were, a new book appeared, it's red cover welcomed amongst the wall of red already in Death's study.

Yea definitely! Are you also into it?

I know some stuff has been revealed to be not great about Whedon and some stuff doesn’t age well, but honestly I really love some of his characterizations, especially Inara, Kaylee, and Book. A lot of the writing is beautiful too.
