Some of my favorite paintings by my departed colleague Rick Martinez at a memorial exhibition in the @sheehangallery . I am impressed by his creative output and I really get a sense that the places and people around him both were informed by and informed him. We rubbed off on each other creatively speaking. I wonder if the first image here was done around the time that I was overlaying monochrome’s over my videos that sampled each frames center pixel. I also was surprised to see paintings that seemed to refer to desktop windows or panel layouts of comics.
