The people have spoken and it's now Baji's turn so here we are!

Baji gets extremely excited for zoo visits, as a kid he actually used to frequently get lost at zoo trips since he'd run off to look at all the animals faster then his mum/ class. 

Likes splashing in puddles (especially if it means he can splash Chifuyu or Ryusei).

Whenever he sees Luna and Mana they beg to braid his hair (he secretly likes it being played with)

Actually likes talking while watching movies, he likes having someone to theorise with and discuss the plot with.

He can't take any credit for his hair care cause his mother taught him everything he knows.

As a kid he would constantly invite Kazutora round for dinner because he didn't like the idea of him being home alone/ with his parents.

Actually doesn't understand the fuss over dating at all (not until he meets a certain someone and falls in love at first sight).

Can make a really great paper airplane (used to aim them at Mikey's hair) 

Will show affection through biting 

Is super handy with tools, always fixing things his mother tells him to (she taught him everything he knows).

Shinichiro used to ruffle his hair a lot as a kid, he always loved that feeling (Shinichiro's the only one allowed to do this though)

His school sports coaches are constantly trying to recruit him for baseball club (i mean tbf he does have great aim).

Used to have his own piercings but his mum made him take them out (that's why he knows what he's doing with Kazutora's).

Is really great at climbing trees (he wanted to beat Mikey so badly at climbing that he started practising non stop.)

Has accidentally broken his phone at least 6 times

Has named every single stray cat that comes into his room. 

Got so angry when Senju attacked him while training Emma (he immediately pushed Emma behind him to try and protect her) but that anger immediately vanished when he realised who attacked him and why. 

Has teased Mikey before by saying Emma likes him as a martial arts partner more.

Has a lucky hair tie for fights 

Is very protective as a partner, will constantly check your wellbeing and safety.

Is also on bug duty, there's a big spider in the house? It's his job to take it outside. 

Is a bit of a baby when it comes to taking medicines, doesn't like the way they taste and refuses to take them. 

Went to visit Sanzu in the hospital after the incident, he brought him magazines to try and cheer him up. 

Feeds the local wildlife as well as cats, he has a few trees where he hangs birdfeeders etc

His mother always makes a big effort for his birthdays so he's learnt to make a big effort for everyone elses. Though he always puts in the most effort for her.

Has been late to meetings because he was distracted by a cat before

As a partner he's very good at reading your moods and adapting to them. Your sad? Then he'll cheer you up. Stressed? He'll help you relax. Angry? Then he'll take you out somewhere to let that frustration out.

one really funny thing about going to the cat sanctuary and trying to make it my habit to go every sunday i can is that like, the cats mostly know me, and most of them quite like me

i don't think carrots is particularly fond of me, and nor is daisy, but none of them like. seem to particularly dislike me, and more importantly, quite a lot of them really like me

no, i don't feed them, and yes, they see me once every week or every two weeks

but i generally sit quite calmly for a good twenty to forty minutes at a time, they can sit with me or on me, i hand out good pets, and i'm quite good at reading their body language bc i know cats quite well and am a long time student of their behaviour and how they communicate

most of the time when i go i try to spend at least twenty minutes or so playing with flora, the spaniel, and tiring her out a bit so that she can work out some of her energy because she's only a puppy and a lot of the other visitors are less interested in a dog, or just like... if they understand dogs at all, don't really understand a small dog, and especially a young dog

but bless the poor ppl who don't necessarily have the greatest handle on cat behaviours, or like cats very much but aren't so good at reading certain cues, or like. seeing things from the cat's perspective

bc this week i did play with flora, but i didn't even go around and photograph the cats this time - i went inside for five minutes to pet various of the beans, and the most of the other hour and a half i was there i just sat there with different cats in my lap, smushed up against my side, or receiving pets

and a few diff ppl were looking so forlornly in my direction as they were making kissy noises at certain cats and the cats were walking right past them to come see me

and i couldn't be like. hey. you haven't done anything wrong, they just know me and find me predictable, or know me and like me, and they don't know you yet. and also you're not doing anything interesting or giving them what they want.

you're not offering play, you're not offering a lap to sit on, and it might be that you're petting them wrong - and not even backwards or like, Wrong For A Cat, but that these cats are pet by like 25 different people in a week and they're picky about having it done "correctly" because they can afford to

esp for some of the wobbly cats, a few of them have started coming up to me bc i'll let them brace against my ankles or between them and then give them the sort of rough and shaggy all over pets that a lot of cats find overstimulating, and that someone might specifically assume a wobbly cat wouldn't like because they'll fall over, but that's what bracing them is for, because they love it and most of the time people are touching them more gently than they like

or scratching the cats that have to wear shirts to protect their undercarriages or their damaged back legs on their shoulders and the backs of their necks, bc people assume that they must not want pets there, except that's not why they're wearing those shirts, and they actually really like being touched there specifically

and tbh also like. i've been saying hello to academy a lot because she's so gorgeous, and what academy does is she looks up at you very solicitiously and does a tiny little miaow and rolls over because she wants you to pet her, and then as soon as you pet her more than 1.5 times she stiffens up and wants to hit you and seems very angry

which makes a lot of people understandably anxious to pet her, me included, and it's just about making sure she's not just greeting you and genuinely does want to be pet, and then watching her body language very closely to make sure it's not too much, bc you don't want to catch a mat or a sore part, because she's just. old. and she doesn't mean to be crotchety, she just wants some love without being in pain

idk i think there's a lot that like. it's obviously very good to be around cats and to learn about cats and read up on cat behaviour (which tbf a lot of people don't even do, they just want to love cats, but then don't realise where they're not literate in the cat's language or understanding its needs), but i think that learning about other animals and being around other animals - like dogs, obviously, but also say horses, or lizards, or birds - helps you understand a lot more about how the cats tick too

Hi! So I am very new to Hadestown and I am watching the bootleg. I really love the dynamic between Hades and Persephone, but there is one thing that kind of rub me in not so good way, is Hey Little Song Bird implied that Hades and Eurydice slept together? I am seeing a lot of interpretation and it genuinely confused the hell out of me asdfghk

Hi! Well, tbf it's a tricky question, but the short answer is that Hadestown suggests that something might have happened behind closed doors. The rest is up to audience and actor's interpretation.

For example, Anaïs Mitchell often mentions in Working On a Song that in early workshops she often went with the idea that Hades cheats and pretty regularly even though these affairs mean nothing to him since the only person he loves is Persephone. It even had a cut song:

In her early drafts/productions of Hadestown you can often get the vibe that from her point of view it doesn't matter as much because they are eternal beings and love each other since the world began so does it even matter for them?

However, by NYTW this story line was cut apart from Persephone's line in How Long:

"I don't mind if you look at other girls, now and then"

"The girl means nothing to me"

"I know"

Plus the staging in NYTW Papers and Hades' protective peacock behavior with Eurydice around Orpheus in the scene also gives you a thought that they might have had an affair? Plus some bits like the fact that she has a line in Why We Build a Wall and her words "But don't you see? That's different with me!" - "Different than who? They thought they were different too!" Could also be interpreted as Hades suggesting some special conditions by granting her a role of a romantic interest. Whether the interest is real or not and did he use it or not is again up to your interpretation of NYTW Hades. He is more of a morally dubious guy (as all ht Hades are) so it's more up to you to either believe he would have cheated to put Persephone in her place or would just use showing off Eurydice as a brutal way to get Persephone's interest.

As for Broadway, I think it's still suggested and you can find profs in the lyrics but I think that they are what they are - suggestive and leave you to interprete it whichever way you feel comfortable. I think the biggest suggestion remains in Flowers with the line:

'I trembled when he laid me out

"You won’t feel a thing," he said, "when you go down"'

Which kinda can have a death meaning and sex meaning, tbf someone could have written a good article on how those topics are connected in Hadestown. So here, again chose one of the two or both.

But again, Broadway also changed the lyrics in How Long and the whole staging in Papers so it's less suggestive.

My personal opinion based on Broadway production is that it all depends on how the actor plays it and whether you believe this particular Hades is the type to sleep with Eurydice to get Persephone's attention and prove he is still attractive or he is more of a person who doesn't care about having the affair and his only goal is to get Persephone to react somehow by composing such a messed up hurtful plan. Personally, I prefer the second option maybe because I'm a pussy or maybe because I see Hades (whom I mostly base on Patrick Page ht Broadway previews) like a person who is desperate to get Persephone's attention in such a radical way like a cat pushing objects from your table to see your reaction. He wants to be stopped, he wants any reaction from Persephone. He even touches her by the shoulder before going into the office like "Look!! Look! I'm absolutely totally leaving! To cheat! See! Hey come on! I'll even take off my tie to show that I'm serious! Don't you wanna stop me???". Seems kinda way too extra to me. Like he could have just gotten to the office after parading a pretty girl in front of her and it would be understood that it's for an affair. But he takes so much time to make sure she understands that he can find himself someone when all he wants is for her to come back to him with open arms. I'm not sure he has the guts to actually damage his relationship to an irreversible degree (considering Broadway Hades is never stated as a cheater before the Eurydice sub-plot). Like it's one thing to take a mortal before her time and parade her in front of your wife (because what is a mortal life after all?) as a "replacement" and it's the other way to actually cheat on her and deal with the fact that she might never forgive him again if it is a deal-breaker for her considering they seem to be true to each other for all these years.

One interesting thing to note here as well is how Hades actors play the reaction to Persephone's line in How Long:

"He has the kind if love that you and I once had"

Because his instant reaction is "OH SHIT once had?? Does she think I don't love her still?? OH SHIT I BROUGHT THE GIRL THIS IS WHY SHE MIGHT THINK THAT", so he answers to that:

"The girl means nothing to me!"

Depending on the actor and she show the line sounds either scared, confused, angry, undignified etc. So it's once again up to you to interprete why he reacts this way: is he angry because she suggested he would actually cheated on her? Is he angry because she called him out on that affair? Is he confused and scared because she thinks he doesn't love her anymore because of his foolish decision to tease her in such a cruel way?

That's up to you.

P.S. I think one of the most interesting studies of the subject and Hades' character that I've read in a fic for that matter was the Songbird chapter of Winters Nigh and Summers O're. You can check it out, but I will warn you that it's probably one of the heaviest chapters of that fic in the emotional sense and it has explicit parts (don't worry, nothing bad happens to Eurydice. Well...apart from dying, I guess), so check out the warnings if you decide to read it.

i thought i’d answer this one quick off the cuff but then i was thinking about everything gregor affects and started spiraling lmao. bc for a minor, not very deep character, this man is instrumental in the mess of the riverlands, in beric’s undead journey, in tyrion’s downfall, AND in the dornish plot.

first you’ve got the fallout of killing loras bc - Mace and Renly are coming for that fuckers HEAD and Ned is gonna have a political crisis on his hands .2 seconds after showing up (besides the other 20 big ones). Considering Mace’s heir was permanently disabled by a tourney before and nothing happened to Oberyn (bc it wasn't Oberyn's fault, it was Mace's, and everyone knew it including Willas, while this one would definitely be fully on Gregor), Mace is gonna PUSH that his shining glory of a knight Loras is avenged in some way. While Robert might not want to step on his wife’s toes - and more specifically the toes of her powerful father - if Renly is pushing for a punishment for Gregor, and Mace starts making threats about it as well, Robert has a pretty good reason to throw Gregor to the wolves (or well, the wolf lol because I'm sure Ned is gonna be pissed off too). Even if Robert doesn’t want to execute Gregor, Gregor is probably in the cells by the time the rest of the plot happens, which means the Riverlands looks WILDLY different bc Gregor and his gang aren’t raping and reaving after Cat steals away with Tyrion, only Amory is, which tbf IS bad enough on its own to get Ned to send Beric, Thoros, Harwin, and the rest but that might also mean the Brotherhood is luckier in stopping some of the Lannister looting going on in the Riverlands. That definitely impacts the war effort, don't ask me how, beyond "maybe things look better in the Riverlands but maybe not."

There's also the fact that if Tywin isn't willing to give up Loras' killer, does Mace even decide to throw his lot in with the Lannisters after Renly is killed? Does he go for the Starks, maybe fancying himself as King of the Reach or tempting Robb with a "give up that Frey girl for my daughter and I'll fund your whole kingdom" offer? Does he go to Stannis, maybe offering Willas up for Shireen (she's only 3 years younger than Sansa, and marriages with bigger age gaps have happened)? Mace is certainly ambitious enough to overlook massive logistical problems (see: not even suspecting that Garlan and Olenna are trying to kill Joffrey to protect Loras from pulling a Jaime to defend Margaery when Joffrey inevitably loses his temper with her) but Loras is his pride and joy and I do wonder if cozying up with Loras' killer is too much to overlook for him.

But beyond "can Ned and Mace get this dude WHACKED without causing yet another political crisis" I would say Gregor being potentially executed or sent to the Wall (which, he's not even gonna make it to the Wall bc Yoren doesn't make it and he might recognize Arya anyway which completely fucks up her storyline) is gonna be a big issue for Dorne. For one, there’s no easy ish target for Oberyn's rage when he shows up in asos because both Amory and Gregor are dead, which only leaves the man who gave the order as an outlet for his anger. That is a political CRISIS. There's also no one to fight against Tyrion in the trial that is any sort of match for Oberyn - like we think Boros Blount is gonna defeat him? We think Meryn Trant is gonna take on The Viper? Fucking Osmund Kettleback? I don't think so.

AND THEN without Ser Robert Strong - well, not to say Cersei is fucked because Qyburn I'm sure would be more than happy to re-animate anyone's corpse but it certainly throws a wrench in her trial.

Anyways, what's that trope, Boss Disguised As Mook or something? That's Gregor. He's not the final boss but he's a boss battle you don't fully expect and he winds up impacting the plot a lot more than I expected.

Mia thinks she's a cat, because she's been around a lot of cats in her days, but she's actually like... a large mutt.

And it's annoying for Miranda because she'll find this dog destroying a scratching post or kneading or trying to lay on her at night and she has to keep pushing her off because "You're too big, you dumb hound!" (Leading to Mia getting kicked out of the bedroom), and Mia just doesn't understand. Because when the "other" cats do stuff like that Miranda doesn't get mad.

She also doesn't understand why she's the only one who spends all day outside tied in the yard.

He sees his clan's medicine cat turn against their leader, verbally agreeing and harassing her...just... this poor boy.. In Canon, Misty Au, Leopard AU it all sucks. Dark AU, not so much--still horrific, but Blackfoot is Reed's father in that one, so as his mentor Reed's safety is somewhat assured had Tigerstar not realized Reedpaw was Misty's kit, and that Misty's kits had not all died.

yeeep. he can't be rescued. and -- mistyfoot has very few choices here. featherpaw is dying, reedpaw is safe for the moment, she won't get another chance. she's not happy about it -- she misses him so terribly much -- but she doesn't. yeah. god. that angst. i hope like. someone somehow just Tries to let reedpaw know it wasn't voluntary.

(i'm not Much One for "you left me you didn't love me" angst if you Can't tell. a pinch of it for flavour, but not as a main plot line, y'know? nothing wrong with it it's very good i just don't like writing it.)

god -- god. in my mind tigerstar takes the life from leopardstar privately bc riverclan would fucking riot but just. reedpaw realizes what's happening. so he follows bc of course he does. he's not the reason tigerstar knows what's going on, but he thinks he is.

and he's there hiding and he sees tigerstar kill leopardstar and hears him tell mudfur what's going to happen and he's sitting there in a bush or something just trying not to so much as twitch because he's so dead if tigerstar finds him. he's so fucking dead.

so he just sits there until long after tigerstar and leopardstar and mudfur have left and when he gets back to camp everyone wonders where he went and he can't explain.

and it feels terrible but he realizes tigerstar is still gloating over everything because as pissed as he is that he lost mistyfoot -- now he's truly taken out every thread of riverclan's leadership.

(frankly no i still think tigerstar's most effective control method for riverclan would be to tell stonefur that if he messes up, he'll kill the apprentices and/or mistyfoot and/or rape mistyfoot, and do leopard au on leopardstar, therefore getting all 3 riverclan leaders in blind obedience to him. he'd have to be much more discrete about leopardstar, maybe convince the clans it's a political thing, i'm not sure. the point is, nothing would Visibly be wrong, all three leaders are just going for this, and so of course riverclan would go along with it. but tigerstar's too much of a prideful asshole to appreciate another culture in enough depth to manipulate them effectively.)

anyway. so reedpaw realizes like -- ah yes. i'm escaping punishment because tigerstar is distracted. and -- god. yeah. oh my god.

and at first like -- he doesn't like. witness anything. tigerstar has some sense of subtly. not a ton -- but enough. direct evidence would be a problem. so no, reedpaw is just sitting with this knowledge in his head. mistyfoot escaped and she was carrying tigerstar's kits (was she? he hadn't seen her he misses her so much he hopes prays she's safe), so now leopardstar is going to.

and the thing about letting things sit like that is that the brain is very, very powerful.

Tigerstar and Leopardstar and Mudfur are having a conversation again and Reedpaw thinks of how Tigerstar would wrap his tail around Mistyfoot, like they were mates, and he wonders what Tigerstar would say if he didn't have to pretend.)

and now mudclaw has flipped from -- one of his best protectors to a great enemy. see, here's the thing. tigerstar only tells mudfur he's going to make him watch. leopardstar ain't dead that long. so reedpaw doesn't know what shadepelt knows and shadepelt would tell him but if shadepelt tries to talk to reedpaw...bad for the both of them.

and reedpaw is around blackfoot and blackfoot is a good guard and how long until -- reedpaw is asked to tell blackfoot something while blackfoot is on guard and he hears mudfur say, "You're a slut like your mother" and he -- can't. maybe he freezes, can't remember what he was supposed to tell blackfoot.

("Spit it out," Blackfoot says, but Reedpaw can't remember why he's even here.

"Even your own father thinks you're just a useless whore," Tigerstar says. He's not speaking loud -- Reedpaw would have to strain to hear the words if his entire world hadn't narrowed down to them.

some thoughts on dovewing and hollyleaf

so i was like 1k words into my au for dovewing where she’s cloudtail and brightheart’s daughter and it was really good and then i lost it because tumblr doesn’t understand the concept of “are you sure you want to navigate away from this page?” and i can’t tell you how sad that makes me but i’m not going to despair, because i think the world needs this.

right. so. basically. dovewing is going to be born to cloudtail and brightheart. i have Thoguhts on what other things could be changed in po3 but this isn’t about that.

also ivykit is red now sorry i don’t make the rules. (brightheart OR dovewing are now tortie to compensate for the change in genetics, not that warriors cars about that, but i do. cloudtail inherits brown from his mother and ??? from his father because i haven’t traced all of their litters, but i don’t see why dovekit couldn’t be grey.)

so cinderheart gets dovepaw because dovepaw is anxiety child. lionblaze gets ivypaw because that’s going to be a drama engine when he’s obsessed with her sister(’s mentor, but ivypaw doesn’t know that, also later it is dovepaw bc propehcy)

cloudtail and brightheart and cinderheart work out some Sensory Blocking skills. beavers happens. dovepaw, who spent most of her time as dovekit hiding in big fluffy father’s fur because Sensory, takes one look at big and fluffy and kind tigerheart and says: yes, he is safe. i will be his friend.

(i’m a fan of tigerheart and dovewing don’t @ me, they are the cutest, and after everything bramble and squirrel put me through, i deserve some pure kind love.)

anyway lionblaze figures out dove is 3rd cat, jayfeather is like “oh sick my sister’s back” dovepaw is anxiety child, everything is fine.

tigerheart and dovepaw continue to meet up. ivypaw goes from “sister worshipped i am unloved” to “sister fragile. must protect. (also i am unloved)” bc skirmish on border patrol and dovepaw just...can’t.

everyone is kind of wondering if dovepaw should maybe be med cat? i mean she has a good ear for prey, but she can’t really catch it, and, like, she’s weird.

she’ll mention snippets of information she shouldn’t know. she knows what you were coming to talk to her about before you get there. she’s never surprised, by, like, anything far away, but she barely notices if you sneak up on her.

something is not right about her.

but dove doesn’t really want that (reminder: tigerheart and her are still flirting-friends. he’s aware that she’s got some kind of, well, problem seems cruel, but what else should he call it?, and wants to help her, but has no idea what to do), and so cinderheart is like “well. we can do this. we can.”

idk filler stuff. ivypaw finds out about dovepaw and tigerheart. like, she knew something was up, but she gets explicit confirmation. ivy gets very protective of dovepaw, dovepaw is like ‘ur not my mentor’ ivypaw sees tigerheart in the dark forest, and she goes all

bluefur being like “snowfur ur bf has rabies” in bluestar’s prophecy

and it goes about as well now as it did then (altho tbf dovepaw is more close to being in the right than snowfur was.)

ivypaw and dovepaw now aren’t speaking. cinderheart is trying to get some space from lionblaze because dovepaw is anxiety child, training with ivypaw isn’t helping, and lionblaze needs to focus on ivy dammit.

anyway yeah in this ivypaw, after dovepaw’s initial success hunting, quickly surpasses her sister, and continues training in the dark forest because must protecc also need affection

(ivypaw is very pro dovepaw be a medicine cat. the fact that it keeps her away from tigerheart is a major bonus.)

cinderheart doesn’t know what to do. finally someone is like “hey what if we go to the tribe.” because the tribe deserves to fix clan problems for once.

the tribe is like “yeah the world sure is a big place with a lot to look at. that’s why only half of us look.” (i know that’s not exactly how cave guard’s work but close enough.)

cinderheart is like “hm. what if, dovepaw, just a thought, what if you just, you know, avoid battles? i know it’s part of clan life but judging by the two souls crammed into my body, i’d say there’s been very few major conflicts over this and, reasonably, you should be able to avoid being chosen for battle control.”

dovepaw says, “but cinderheart, i’m a main character! unless i’m being punished or taught a lesson about duty, i’ll be automatically registered for every battle patrol until i die!”

cindheart says, “you’re right, i’m so sorry. hey ivypaw, [whoops yeah ivy and lion are here too sorry i forgot to mention that] what if you two learn to work as a team.”

dovepaw says, “i don’t want to work with her.”

ivypaw says, “that’s a great idea.”

because dovepaw talks very quietly (she forgets not everyone can hear as well as her), ivypaw wins.

they work out their issues, return to the clans after quite some time.

(this also gives dovepaw a good memory for a long time in the future when shadowkit is born. i don’t actually know when that happens because i just finished tigerheart’s shadow and it’s not there, but i’ll find it eventually)

anyway dovepaw and ivypaw haven’t settled their differences, but they have a peace treaty. no one is sure how to integrate the team style in most effectively, but with her senses dampened from the tribe, dovepaw gets a bit better at hunting.

she’s also now 200% anxiety, meaning she’s basically vibrating all the time, but at least she’s learning. and she’s got the technical skills, too, she just couldn’t focus on applying them.

so dovepaw gets to really earn her success.

alright they become warriors, the battle is approaching.

this is like at least 3 books worth of content when you consider that jayfeather and hollyleaf are alive and hollyleaf is kind of, either dead or alive, tunnels or not, on top of shit in this universe. she knows shit gon go down. she’s going to be ready.

anyway right so dovewing and ivypool. that’s pretty much it except dovewing is more useful during the final battle. i’m not sure how i just know she is.

alright now i’m very tired and wanted to be done half an hour ago but here’s most of an au for you.

i came back like ten minutes later to add: the later three books would focus more on ivypool, hollyleaf, and jayfeather. dovewing is off in the background flirting with tigerheart. she and lionblaze have like one and a half brain cells between them. ivy holly and jay are the brains of the operation, and everyone knows it.

so they’re making plans and preparing and dealing with trust issues and lionblaze is like “what if? cinderheart. who is the best cat. what if she and i. had children. would they be. the best cat. squared?”

and dovewing, thinking of tigerheart, is like “no you idiot bestness is additive. that’s why my kits with tigerheart would be at least two times better than any other kits.”

*to be clear, kits are here the figurative marker of a relationship since warrior cats don’t have marriage. dovewing is basically like the fifteen year old doodling her name with tigerheart. she’s not serious about having children with him (yet), but it makes a tangible concept to picture their relationship in.

and meanwhile ivy is like “so if xyz is a taitor, that means i have to win over birchfall to make sure our numbers are evenly matched,”

(dovewing. i lovewing the dovewing, but she’s, well, not that smart.)

so yeah i think book protags would go:

dovepaw (i’d like to save her for later but unfortunately i think we need her deep characterization to provide context for her and tigerheart and sensory overload), ivypaw secondary

lionblaze, hollyleaf secondary (this is kind of a filler book while hollyleaf is set up as not a permanent resident of background character hell so lionblaze is just interpersonal drama moving the plot forward and filling in propechy info)

cinderheart, lionblaze secondary (i want them to be sorted faster, and dovewing’s second book needs to be later for tigerheart drama)

hollyleaf, jayfeather secondary (transitional book in focus, sharp narration turn because i have this working as 2 3 book arcs with a weaker overall arc, and since this is about dovewing i focused mostly on the first)

jayfeather, cinderheart secondary (dove+ivy need to close the arc together, also, cinderheart is like a central character to everyone else here, so she can sustain a whole lot of b plots)

ivypool, dovewing secondary (sisters, also, in this ivypool is far more important in the battle tha dovewing is. i mean sure dovewing is doing something, but the whole success of the battle hinges on ivypool, and everyone knows it.)

non-spoilery as of end of pgte book 2 prolonged scream about what Cat does there

so there are multiple things there that Catherine's narration kind of glosses over, and tbf it's for good reason! Catherine is not a braggy kind of person in her narration, if she goes "I'm fucking awesome" it's to psyche herself up for some new bullshit, not to rest on her laurels, and it's honestly fantastic and helps the narrative a lot, that said, we should all totally step back and appreciate that

1) Catherine is seriously for real inheriting Callow here. Like this is not a trick? This is not a clever wording loophole? Catherine is literally at that point in the process of putting her ducks in a row for her "Callow is now mine bitches" plan, and while it's not exactly immediately transitioning to her being in charge of everything solo, she is very much getting the inheritance of ruling Callow from her father teacher I said teacher

2) Catherine put her life on the line for her people twice over - on an increasingly thin one. First she goes into the city of Liesse itself while knowing about the pattern - she's unwilling to let William claim his victory here in this way :) and this might sound obvious, especially for someone who's just read the book, but - there's nothing selfish about this. Catherine gains nothing from besieging Liesse (except very marginal OR very low likelihood potential gains that would 100% not be worth the risk) and loses nothing from retreating to the Legions, this is purely for the sake of the population of Liesse itself. Second she goes specifically to seek William out to deal with the devil problem (WHICH WAS ALSO BEAUTIFUL AND AMAZING AND I JUST WANTED TO POINT THIS FACT OUT. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL AND AMAZING HOW SHE DID THAT RIP AKUA'S LOOPHOLE CAT'S GONNA DRIVE A TRAIN THROUGH IT)  (oh and also this would help the rebel forces which HER forces were actively fighting at the time, just to harp on this point a bit more) - again, while knowing that a pattern of three is active and she's fated to lose. She did her best struggling but she KNEW she was going to lose. And the plan for her to survive was like... 1. die 2. become undead 3. convince a choir they want to support her over their champion. Like, can we all appreciate how insane a plan that is? Catherine went with it straight-faced, and like... Paradoxically, I'm pretty sure it's because it was insane that it actually worked. Because Catherine knew it was absurd, knew she was basically laying down her life for this one city, and she did it anyway. She threw her life down and dared angels to say she wasn't worthy of what she wished to claim.

Because none of this was a trick. Cat’s narration kind of focuses on the part that WAS tricky wording / loopholes, and it sure is convenient that Heiress was there to represent "the enemy" that Cat was presumably protecting Callow from... she was though? Like I'm sure Akua's presence helped drive the symbolism down with the subtlety of a dropped anvil, but factually Cat's goal is to stand between the worst of Praes and Callow, and even her helping tamp down this rebellion ALREADY IS actively working to minimize casualties (Black had changed his strategy due to her involvement). Getting William to confirm that the chapel is Callowan land is more along the lines of not letting Akua get away with a loophole (also fucking hilarious, "could be relied upon to fuck over at least one person in the room" no I didn't reread I just remember that because I adore it). Of course the chapel is in Callow in every meaningful sense! It's attached to Liesse and events in it are going to ripple out into and then from Liesse geographically, that's the entire problem! If the chapel wasn't Callowan Cat wouldn't give a shit and wouldn't have given her fucking life (SHE'S LITERALLY DEAD AT THAT POINT, A SKILLED NECROMANCER WHO MANAGED TO OVERPOWER MASEGO COULD PUPPET HER) to get there!

None of this is a trick! The sword in the stone was a decorative flourish and not even a part of Cat's original plan, because the thrust if it was not the #CallowanAesthetic. The thrust if it was the authentic narrative, in the sense of A=>B: when the person whose job is about to be ruling Callow gives their life to protect its people, and the protection takes the form of getting to a point of contact with angels to get them to switch tracks from doing one thing to another (importantly, Akua also wanted to mess with William's ritual, Cat hijacking it first locked her out!), well then in that situation the angels kind of have a job to do.

And if their chosen champion is the SOURCE of the original problem and this new person who's coming in for a last minute save is literally his deadly nemesis and about to kill him... well fucking sucks for them, I guess! They are angels. They have a job, and when something's gone wrong with how they're doing it, the course corrections can be rough.

Cat did not do a sleight of hand here. Cat full on committed to a course of action that was going to achieve her chosen goal - interrupting both William and Akua - even if the resurrection trick didn't work and it killed her. Cat straight up laid down her life for her people, then asked for it back.

And the way Guideverse works, when things line up just so... well, the chapter is named that for a reason :)

I will also contrast it to Akua’s “pattern of three” plan, because it’s an excellent example of how things DON’T work - of how they work when you are doing it wrong, and how tricks that really ARE tricks blow up in your face. A pattern of three works on symmetry and reversal - claim the victory at first, get inevitably defeated at the last moment. And it’s not that it’s impossible to abuse that, but you gotta PAY. You always gotta pay if you want the result to be real. Akua tried to avoid payment - she lost NOTHING in that first confrontation with Cat that she so demonstrably lost except underlings she didn’t care about (RIP those people). Akua got a technical loss that was actually a victory in every sense that mattered... well hey, guess what the pattern reversed into!

That’s the difference between basing your story on something real - something that would have worked this way in a non-narrativium world too - and trying to cheat your way through loopholes. Would non-narrativium world Akua have fled from that confrontation with Catherine, if she’d seriously considered her a rival and enemy? Nope, not unless she had the same “outsmarting herself” sort of plan Cat would later get to foil. Would non-narrativium world Catherine have gone into Liesse to put her life on the line against both her nemeses at once to save its people? Well... yeah. It’s the same thing with or without story lenses. That’s why it works.

And that’s why it’s fucking awesome.

(I do not just mean on the meta level “look how cleverly Guide is written”. I mean on the object level, reading the end of Book 2 is cathartic and awesome and breathtaking, because every part of it is painstakingly built up to and earned. Things happen the way they FEEL like they should happen - and the only thing the narrativium does here is expose the wiring.)

-Minjun Kim: He’s the oldest of the RFA Kids, and since his parents are the youngest of the bunch, Mindy and Yoosung often make fun of the others for being late. Has a great relationship with his family.

He’s kind, a lovable dork, loves to eat and likes plants. He’ll probably buy a farm and live there for the rest of his life. His best friend is Hyun Junior. Probably had a crush on Sophie at some point.

-Hyun Junior Ryu: He’s almost identical to his father. But only on the outside! He’s a flirt and a heartbreaker. He’s not evil, he just has lots of love to give but no one that he actually loves deeply enough to commit to. Because of his attitde, he’s always fighting with his parents, mostly with Miriam.

She has a story arc in which she pretends to be a man in university so that people will treat her with more respect. Hyun Jr. and Monica help her with that.

Always had a crush on Hyun Jr., she’s too busy on being perfect to actually do something about it. Maybe they’ll end up togheter traumatizing their fathers, who knows. She also likes Minjun really much, and considers him her best friend.

-Serena Choi: Her name is a reference to her uncle Saeran, and that was obvious. She also has a great relationship with her uncle. And with her parents. Mostly with her father. She is a great genius and always helps his father with his creations. Will achieve Saeyoung’s dream of going to space by working with NASA and being a great aerospace engineer.

She also has a great relationship with her twin brother, even if they are like sun and moon. Her arc is mostly based on her future work and the struggle to be respected and appreciated. She’ll also meet a peculiar boy named Red that is strangely similar to her father, very supportive, and has a... doll who looks just like him?

-Marco Choi: His name is a reference to his aunt Margo, and that was obvious. He also has a great relationship with his aunt, but also with his parents. He’s a literal ray of sunshine, who loves to help his mother with painting and play with his sister and his best friend. 

He fell in love with his best friend pretty soon. Wrote everything in his diary, without telling anybody about his sexuality or his crush, and one day his diary was published on the school bulletin board. His arc is pretty angsty. On the bright side, when he had to tell his parents he was gay, they high-five and Martha told Saeyoung “I won! You owe me ten bucks” or something like that. Jokes aside, everyone was very supporting, Minho too.

-Minho Kim: Talking about him, he is a true cutiepie. Really cute and sweet, like his parents. A little bit shy, but everyone wants to be his friend. Also really good at school, wants to becoma a lawyer, and will succeed. 

His best friends are Serena and Marco, but with the latter he has a special bond. They grew up together, after all. He also has a good relationship with Melissa, who always wanted to play with him and Marco ever since childhood. Minho ends up dating her in high school. And then breaks up with her after certain rumors start to spread out. At first he thinks he’s as straight as spaghetti. Then he gets cooked. And yes, he’s a proud bisexual who loves his best friend. Happy ending! 

-Melissa Han: She is probably the worst out of everyone. She was really spoiled ever since birth, and thinks everything has to go her way. Wants to be a journalist like her mother, but the two have a really conflicting relationship, since their opinion on journalism is almost opposite. However, her father doesn’t see any problem with her method, and they have a good relationship.

Her crush on Minho started when they were little, but even when they got together she wasn’t satisfied, because she hated how Marco was always in the middle. In case you didn’t figure out already, she’s the one who publishes his diary. And she will suffer a lot of consequences, that’s for sure.

-Berinice Ryu: Named after Miriam’s grandmother, Bernie was an accident, TBF, but a really nice accident. She is almost physically identical to her mother, and the total opposite of Hyun in everything. So they don’t have the best of relationship. She’s quiet, responsable, well-beahaved and a little lonely. But she doesn’t really mind not having many friends. Her parents love her very much, expecially Zen. She’s her father’s little spoiled princess. 

She really loves to draw, and she’s a romantic at heart. Loves the concept of true love, and sees the RFA as great example of that. Her best friend among the RFA kids is Shin, they got close really fast. They like the same things, always see Stranger Falls together.

-Shin Choi: That’s complicated. Like, I don’t think I can condensate this kid’s arc in a paragraph. The important thing to know is that he comes from a really bad household. Margo helped him, and after a lot of things happened, she and Saeran ended up adopting him and giving him the loving house he always craved. They have a really strong and wonderful relationship.

Likes Ice cream, plays the violin, and loves all sibling’s relationship. Always wanted to have a brother. But never dares to ask his new parents because he knows they don’t feel like adopting someone else. Sometimes, he has amnesia, and hears voices in his head. Nothing to worry about, right?

-Minseo Kim: It’s incredible how savage she can be. She was the iperactive child, the one his parents really worried about. Always around seeking trouble, running away, climbing trees and stuff. Luckily, her parents got a dog that is perfectly trained to keep her out of trouble. And she loves Roger!

She also likes her family, but spends most of her time with the dog, the cat Lisa and other animals she finds around the yard. She always brings them home hiding them from her parents. They always figure everything out, but most of the time they allow her to keep them.

-Elizabeth Han: Let’s be frank, Jumin wanted a male, a true heir for C&R (actually it was more like the Chairman’s dream than Jumin’s, but whatever), but they seems to have the all-female curse or something, so Elizabeth joined the family. But she’s... perfect?

Like, she’s the kind of person that no one can dislike, and no one is even jealous of her, because she’s not the heiress or spoiled. She’s actually very generous, always giving gifts, making compliments, and she’s humble and nice. Everyone likes her, and would give their life to protect her. 

Yeah, almost every kid has an arc, because I have no social life whatsoever so I created backstories for everyone.

Hope you found them interesting, I’ll probably publish something with the kids in the future, that’s why I introduced them.

Who asks the other on dates:  lbh with each other here, these are the kind of assholes that have an actual date night.  sometimes they even make it to it and do date things.  but also let's be honest with the fact they've been going on dates for years and were too dumb to realize it.  museums?  burgers and a movie?  you know they've done it, you know it was a date, and you know they had literally no idea.  because they're dumbasses. Who is the bigger cuddler:  with all the unnecessary touching that went on with them from like literally steve's first day out of the ice and you come into my home and ask that question?  as touchy as they were before (those sweet, sweet shoulder squeezes of validation) you know it's worse now.  movie night's probably a nightmare just because you know it's either bc tony's draped some part of himself on steve, or they're jammed so close together you couldn't squeeze a sheet of paper between them, or...listen.  when two tactile people love each other very much, they're probably really gross and annoyingly handsy, and i don't mean in the...gropey kind of way, they're just touchy.  all the time.  must toch.  plus they have a shitton of issues, which probably doesn't help in that either but eh. Who initiates holding hands more often:  there's a theme here, you know that right.  there's a theme here, because it's a theme in canon, and it's tony offering a hand up to steve.  like it's a thing, you know it, i know it, so if you don't think tony's needy hand holder in this relationship, you'd be wrong.  it's sad, he gets this weird little thrill at even being able to do that, and on the one hand...you gotta feel bad for him.  he'd take whatever steve gives him and tell himself that's enough and he's content with it, because it's steve.  but knowing steve's okay with it?  a religious experience.

Who remembers anniversaries:  well, it's not steve rogers, i can tell you that.  and you know what, that's okay, and that's fair, and tony loves him anyway.  he might be the man with a plan, but he's useless with a planner.  he gets caught up in things, it's fine, tony remembers for the both of them, it's why he has friday.  what i'm saying is the only one who really remembers any important dates at all is friday. Who is more possessive:  i don't know that...you could really classify either of them that way?  overly protective, sure.  clucky with mother hen tendencies, the both of them, yeah.  taking what they can of each other's time, even if it's just to be able to say good night and good morning, absolutely.  but i don't think...with who they are as people, they really can't be. Who gets more jealous:  which goes back to being possessive, right, like tony has a little jealous streak but it doesn't manifest blatantly as one.  two, they're public figures so...there's not a lot of room for jealousy there.  like captain america and iron man might be characters they play (which are still them, i know i've talked about it but bear with me, it's an idealized version of them, separate from the inner selves) but they're public, you know, they're superheroes, and there's an expectation you share each other with the job.  and with the people you save.  with the world, really.  i think it's more about taking what time they do have as steve and tony more than anything else. Who is more protective:  this is a joke, right?  this is a joke.  these two idiots would throw themselves in front of each other over and over and over again if you let them.  that said, tony's moreso.  and i'll tell you why.  everything he's done?  all the bad?  the times he's sold his soul?  was to keep steve - and their loved ones - safe.  or happy, in a situation where there was really nothing they could do.  every time.  or i'll go one better.  tony will absolutely trade his own life for steve's in the blink of an eye, because he's always believed between the two of them steve's the better man.  he's done it.  willingly.  without a second thought once he's made the decision to do it.  he probably has a "sacrifing myself for the greater good and especially steve" face.  i'd like to lie and say that he understands if something happened to him how badly it would hurt steve but...if it came down to a choice of tony dying if it meant steve would live, he'd trade himself in a heartbeat.  that's uh.  something he's working on (he's not). Who is more likely to cheat:  this really is a joke.  steve "my middle name is noble" rogers and tony "has been in love with steve rogers for years" stark.  like tony would never, ever, ever say it, but this is it.  i don't mean in some fatalistic way, and i mean he fully believes he has an expiration date so he wouldn't say anything anyway, but this is it.  steve's always been The One.  his Person.  never would happen, not in a million fucking years. Who initiates sexy times the most:  you would think the answer is anthony edward stark and in most cases you'd be right, but steve rogers is not most cases, it is steve rogers and the rules don't apply to him.  by which i mean surprisingly steve is the proactive one here, and i think it's because tony is...he is hesitant.  it's weird, he's pushy with his forms of affection and then he backs off in this arena but i would argue he's getting better about it, and that the only reason he is like that is because he doesn't...he's very careful with steve, really, he's still walking on eggshells a little.  give him time, the tables will turn, he'll be pouncing steve from dark corners like an overgrown house cat with the 3am zoomies and a need to fight. Who dislikes PDA the most:  they're not, you know, public yet.  so it's not like this is really a thing outside of their friends circle, and even then, like.  i'm willing to bet literally nothing has changed in the slightest except you might walk in on them smoochin.  oh, the huge manatee.  tbf, for some people it might be (clint, looking directly at you) considering who wants to see their parents doing that but you know.  tough tiddy.  anyway, they’re just...not really the type. Who kills the spider:  listen they know some spiders who are very good people, and it's not nice to talk about premeditated murder.  there is a strict catch and release program in place and by that i mean tony will absolutely release said spiders back with their people.  except nat, because she's scary. Who asks the the other to marry them:  steve's joked around about that once.  once.  and tony did not take it well with his past history of failed relationships.  not out of a fear of committment, are you kidding me, this is tony who makes being married a personality trait.  but because he thinks he's a jinx.  i can tell you one thing, it won't be him that asks, if they ever get around to doing something more official than cohabitating.  shaking up.  whatever you want to call it.  not unless it's a jokey thing that gets taken seriously (which would change his tune embarrassingly fast).  he's gunshy at this point.  he's been engaged a few times and it's telling that he doesn't have like three divorces under his belt.  and also they're still feeling out the new them, which is fine, it's good they're doing that.  but he'd say yes in a heartbeat. Who buys the other flowers or gifts:  the answer you're looking for is tony stark.  it is tony stark who does this, thank you.  it could be big things, like, i don't know, a mansion (hello, 890 5th avenue).  training robots for the gym that...no one needs to know the price tag on that steve's going systematically tear apart.  training scenarios for the danger room he's spent three days straight coding and putting together.  new uniforms.  or it could be little things like a book steve's been meaning to get and read or his favorite bagel or...either way.  it's just who tony is, he can't help it.  if he has it, he gives it.  honestly i feel like at some point steve's just learned to roll with it because there's no stopping it.  he's been doing it forever, since day one (hey guys, remember the cray mainframe?), but now he's signed up for no complaining so you know.  that's on him. Who would bring up possibly having kids:  said like it hasn't already happened.  it's steve, by the way.  it's 1000% steve and he's already done it and tony's giving ten million reasons why he shouldn't when he knows he's going to say yes, and so what i'm really getting at here is they need to start thinking nursery colors for the mansion, because they're not fooling anyone.  and they're gonna be amazing parents and that kid is gonna be the most spoiled, loved, protected baby ever.  she hit the jackpot and doesn't even know it.  this is also the only superfamily content i am here for.  just a dumbass, a himbo, and a superbaby.  also consider.  all the cute.  knitted things.  i demand cute knitted things, it's not up for debate. Who is more nervous to meet the parents:  that's...not an issue, for one thing.  for another, like.  literally their entire friends group are...all...the same people.  lbr there was literally a betting pool in place and i wonder who won.  it keeps me up at night, wondering who cashed in on tony and steve no longer being quite as big of a pair of dumbasses as they have been.  part of me hopes it was peter parker, i worry about you, spooder-min. Who sleeps on the couch when the other is angry:  tony uh.  will stay in his lab if they have a row but i can promise you he doesn't sleep much.  if at all.  it's part and parcel with the tony stark experience in this case.  he'll stay in his hidey hole and be sad because steve's mad at him, but won't do anything about it at first, just stay and be sad.  because he's sad.  and also Feeling An Emotion is hard and they don't know how to use their words. Who tries to make up first after arguments:  i'd argue 70% of the time it's probably tony.  like, they're both stubborn, we know that.  they both dig in their heels and think they're right, the other's wrong, and they're being stupid about it.  and about some things they're just literally never going to agree but don't know how to agree to disagree.  tony gets set in a rut and won't consider a deviation from what he's already decided is going to happen.  steve gets mulish and refuses to listen to another point of view.  they butt heads.  but honestly, at this point, at the end of the day (if he can stop sulking), after everything that's happened?  you know, at this point it's obvious that when they argue and stay mad, bad things tend to happen.  tony doesn't even have memories of the worst of it but he knows he took it badly, let's be real here (i say, like badly's not a hilarious understatement).  he may not apologize in a way that says he's wrong, but he may do it for helping escalate a fight.  bc, you know, blah blah, not half as good as anything as i am doing it next to you, blah blah, azure eyes, blah blah, good morning beloved. Who tells the other they love them more often:  honestly, now that those big scary words are out there, and there's no takebacksies in having said it, they've both been pretty free with them.  making up for lost time, i guess.  i think they have different tones, though.  tony's as free with those with steve as he's ever been with anything else.  he gives them...often?  and with no expectation of anything in return.  because that's how he's always been with steve.  and from steve like...a lot of time it seems like...as much as he says it?  it's a reassurance more than anything (because we know how tony is).  sometimes tony even lets himself believe it without second guessing himself.

Who asks the other on dates: bucky. ask how many dates they went on before tony caught on. three. they went on three dates before bucky went in for a kiss and tony just thought “oh ok we’re doing this now” and just went for it. honestly, if they weren’t married, i think he’d still think they’re friends. they’ll both make an effort to arrange dates, but bucky’s often invited to things in his neighborhood and community, so he’ll usually prompt for them doing fun stuff around town. Who is the bigger cuddler: tony. listen the boy’s all arms and legs, it means he’s an octopus and that he has to wrap them around bucky whenever they’re both horizontal. and tbh bucky loves it so while tony’s the bigger cuddler, they both crave it. Who initiates holding hands more often: bucky. he fuckin loves tony’s hands. he likes playing with them, like if they’re just neat! well not neat, they’re filthy, he’s a mechanic so they’re likely very dirty but he likes sitting next to tony and stealing a hand to play with. he’s very careful and gentle, what with his metal hand and all. bonus: tony knows that buck is uncomfy with his metal hand and defaults to standing off to bucky’s right, so he can use his non-metal hand--but he’s not shy about touching or being touched, he built that hand, he trusts it and the man wielding it.

Who remembers anniversaries: bucky. listen, tony is good at many things. so many things. remembering dates is not one of them. regardless of how many alerts tony sets, he will turn them off and keep going on whatever he was working on. also, yknow. you have to actually know when you started dating someone to know when the anniversary is. Who is more possessive: neither. honestly, they’re not really.... like that? both of them are super giving people and especially with each other, there’s nothing that they won’t give. but, i will say, when it comes to like.... like tony’s a super busy guy and people come to him asking for a lot of help, sometimes with important things, but sometimes it’s like my guy, you can probably do this yourself or find someone else to fix the equipment you broke. so in regards to like... bucky will put up a front of being “possessive” of tony’s time, if it means that tony then gets some well-needed boundaries.  Who gets more jealous: neither. again, it’s not really jealousy, but sometimes bucky will use it as like... a weapon? excuse? to get people to fuck off and leave tony alone so he can have some space and boundaries. bucky’s not above using himself as an excuse to get tony out of something if it means his husband is happy. Who is more protective: both. it’s funny because they’re both super protective but in kind of opposite ways. i think in the superhero way, the physical way, tony’s way more protective--he’s a tank and he knows how squishy team human is and bucky’s just a guy in some (very nice) kevlar and leather vs the amazing iron man suit that tony wears. and honestly, when it comes to the field, bucky knows exactly what tony’s capable of and leaves him to do what he’s good at. he trusts tony’s skill and knows iron man’s limits, and would only start to worry when there was danger of reaching them. on the other hand, when it comes to personal lives, bucky is way way way more protective of tony and his feelings and boundaries. if tony won’t set those for himself, he’ll set them for him to protect his time, feelings, and energy. he can and will give people the boot when he knows tony needs time to work on other things and that they just want tony to take care of it so they don’t have to. Who is more likely to cheat: neither. they’re both so sure in the other, i just don’t think it would occur to them to cheat. they trust each other implicitly, there’s just no likelihood of it happening.  Who initiates sexy times the most: neither. listen. listen they’re really shitty about communication about sexy times for some reason. both are brats. both like a bit of a challenge. neither likes backing down from said challenge. they will literally end up blue-ballsing themselves if they’re not careful. i mean they get there, eventually, but geeze does it take a while. Who dislikes PDA the most: neither. i think before they were married, bucky likely would’ve kept a lot of the pda to a minimum, out of respect for not wanting to cause tony any undue trouble. but yknow, cat’s out of the bag and they’re hitched so whatever, he’ll hold his hand when they go grocery shopping and steal kisses at galas or whatever. they’re not gross about it, they don’t really want to make the front page of the tabloids for whatever stupid conspiracy theory they have running now, but they don’t hold back any casual touching when they’re out in public either Who kills the spider: neither. this house is catch and release ok, spider-woman didn’t suffer for this kind of spider treatment Who asks the the other to marry them: bucky. literally, it was bucky. he did this, he asked, he said the question and tony said yes and then no take backsies were said, regardless of how many bad puns per day happen. tbf tho, bucky had originally asked as just like a “hey would you ever consider marriage” kinda question but it came out as a proposal and tony said yes so he was like ‘okay i’m planning a wedding now before he can say no’ Who buys the other flowers or gifts: tony. are you kidding me. like. look bucky tries? but he’s not good at figuring out what to get. tony would be elated at anything, yeah, sure, but he struggles with any type of gift giving, it’s just not his strong suit. but he knows that gift giving is definitely one o tony’s love languages and loves every little thing--usually big thing--tony gets him. bonus: tony buys him flowers a lot as a surprise and bucky keeps all the cards to them in a now-empty vosges chocolate box under the bed, along with the receipt from their diner date (date 2), a few polaroids of the wedding, written copies of their vows, and any other little mementos that happen to strike his fancy. Who would bring up possibly having kids: neither. they know what their lives are like. even if both of them are excellent with kids, neither wants to bring a child anywhere near that danger. like most superheroes at least know their villains, but bucky has memory problems right, and what’s worse than knowing who out there is gunning for you is not knowing, and the horrible paranoia that comes from trying to figure out who to trust when deciding things like daycare and schools and babysitters--it’s just not really the kind of life a kid deserves. but yknow, i think they’ll always have a pet. alpine makes a great fur baby. Who is more nervous to meet the parents: bucky. tony’s the only one that has living parents still, so i think he was technically a little nervous. he’s got a sordid history, especially depending on what all people have decided to believe re: his this trial, so he knew going in it could be a hard sell. but then he found out amanda was also a spy and a kickass one at that, so a lot of his worries pretty much evaporated. he’s now pretty happy about having a mother-in-law and probably keeps her as up to date as she wants on tony, because tony is not going to send the dumb half asleep photos of himself but bucky sure as hell will Who sleeps on the couch when the other is angry: both. they don’t really go to bed mad? well, back up, they don’t really fight, and usually when they have a source of conflict, it’s more of a conversation because both of them are fairly reasonable people and are willing to find that compromise. but, if they just need a while to stew before talking, both are likely to retreat to their own corners to get things done while waiting to cool off. but if i’m honest, bucky makes it a point to not go to bed mad--or stay mad for too long--because carrying that around doesn’t make him feel better. it’s also part of the next point-- Who tries to make up first after arguments: bucky. he doesn’t want the argument to linger, and even if he thinks he’s right, he doesn’t like the angry to stay between them. and he’s also very, very quick to remind tony that even when he’s mad, he still loves him. neither of them are likely to stay mad long, but i think bucky’s the one to push them into talking about it, because he doesn’t want whatever it is to linger between them--and frankly, he doesn’t want to be mad at tony, he wants to love and hold him. Who tells the other they love them more often: both. i mean they’re married? and they’re like that sickening married couple that says it instead/in tandem with goodbyes and hellos. and then randomly throughout the day. and then at night before bed. and-- listen bucky loves saying it as much as he loves hearing it, and even if tony doesn’t say the words, bucky feels it in everything he does. but they’re both cheesy as hell and frequently exchange i love yous.

💧 (What is something from your OC’s past they’re the most ashamed of and why? What is something they’re really proud of? And lastly what is something in their past that could make them shake with dread?): For Isolt, what she’s most ashamed of is when people get hurt because she made a mistake. A lot of what her job becomes is solving problems before they can even get close to hurting people, so when she fails she takes it really hard. Isolt is most proud of the creation of the Hávalmaric Rangers, as it basically was her solution to the problem of war, at least for Hávalmar. Lastly, Isolt is still afraid of Jack Lantern, not so much actively, like “this guy fills me with dread”, but more in the way of “I did not realize how dangerous this guy was and the fact that I managed to not end up on his bad side was really lucky.” She just is very conscious of how powerful he is and how she does not want to have any dealings with him ever again.

🐍 (Is your OC a good liar? How easy is it for them to tell lies? What is the biggest lie they’ve ever told and did they ever get found out? On the other hand, what is the biggest lie someone has told your OC and did they believe them?): Isolt doesn’t start out a good liar. She’s initially a very open and honest person, and tbf she stays that way mostly. She’s much more comfortable with straightforward problems and straightforward solutions. However, because of the demands of her job, she has gotten very good at lying. She doesn’t find it easy per se to tell lies, but she gets past her reservations with the justification that it protects people. The biggest lie she ever told was that she was perfectly comfortable killing people and no, she was not found out. The biggest lie someone told her was that they had no ulterior motives and Isolt sure as shit did not believe them. 

 ☀️(How well does your OC take care of themself? Do they tend to put others before their own wellbeing and if so how often? What is their favourite way to pamper themself?): Isolt is very much a “seat of her pants” kind of person when it comes to self care. Because of her position and responsibilities she usually has a lot on her plate, which doesn’t leave a lot of time for self care. She justifies this usually by saying that others needing her is more important than her comfort, but this does lead to her burning out every now and then and asking others to shoulder some of her responsibility so that she can recover. Her favorite way to pamper herself is going home to her mothers and just relaxing for a week, maybe playing with a cat too.

👹 (How does you OC act around different people and how does their personality change to match the environment they’re in? How do they act with: friends, family, strangers, children or their lover(s)?): So in both phases of Rhiannon’s life, she doesn’t tend to take center stage in a large group unless forced to. When she’s among her closer friends and family she’s much more willing to be loud and everyone’s problem, but drop her in a crowded room and she’ll basically hide in plain sight. Because a lot of her early life was structured around her royal status, she got used to always being on stage so to speak, but she also got used to fading into the background and letting her older siblings take everyone’s attention. However, with her closer friends she tries as hard as she can to ignore her royal status and simply exist as a person, which in her early life is hard, but which she almost uses as a defense mechanism after shit hits the fan later in her life. 

 🍇(Does your OC have any bad habits? Does your OC have any addictions like smoking or drinking? How did they fall into these habits and why?): Most of Rhiannon’s bad habits are emotional rather than physical. She is very willing to bottle up or ignore emotions or uncomfortable feelings, but this has progressed to also include most of her feelings, including romantic ones. She feels like if she lets herself feel her grief or loss or acknowledge her pain that she won’t be able to stop and she’ll lose control of her life. 

 🧡 (What traits of your own do you see in this OC? Are they a little bit self-inserty? Don’t be shy, we all put parts of ourselves into the creations we love!): Damn this would’ve worked better for Isolt 😂. So Rhiannon has less of me in her than some of my other protagonists, but what she does have is my tendency to compartmentalize. Both of us are very good at ignoring larger problems or concerns by focusing on what’s in front of us. Sometimes this is good, as it helps us not get overwhelmed and solve problems one thing at a time. Other times it just encourages us to procrastinate on our problems. Other than that she’s a bi disaster just like me and is very protective of her own identity and doesn’t allow other people to control how she defines herself. Unpopular opinion meme, needs a topic or i wont answer 

Gendry: 

- Is a good boy??? I love??

- He could’ve abandoned Arry and Weasel, but he came back, my heart 

- Wants Arya close, but only wants m’lady to go away. Change my mind. 

- wtf is Gensa, do not, Gendry wouldn’t i’m sorry. I’m like 99% sure Arya is the only person Gendry likes in canon, let alone highborn he likes, because she’s not classist. Stop giving everything to Sans.

- Boyo was soft for Arya, change my mind 

- I LOVE GENDRY

- He’s 14, and he’s such a good boy- wow is he 16 now? idk, Arya THINKS he’s 5 years older than her, but we don’t actually know? He looks strong and older for his age, he could’ve been as young as 12 at the series start, I don’t remember any specific information on his age other than Arya saying he was five years older. Anyway, he’s 14, and he’s such a good boy. Saves Arya when he thinks she’s a boy, protects her and helps with Weasel, continues protecting her, and then lets Willow boss him around, like he doesn’t care, boss him around, he knows he’s stubborn. He’ll protect the little ones, my HEART ONLY GENDRY WAS DIFFERENT, WHAT A GOOD BOYO

- He’s very important to Arya’s storyline, but also his own. I think Gendry deserves his own POV chapter. I want his thoughts.

- I don’t think I have “unpopular” opinions about Gendry? I love him sm? He’s vital- oh

- I don’t think he’ll get Storms End or legitimised in the Books, because Robert never acknowledged him. It should go to Edric or Mya. I said what I said. 

- Fun fact, derived from the french word, Gendry means son in law. Specifically, it’s a son in law that inherits his father in laws lands. All i’m saying is... Winterfell

Jon:

- Jon isn’t attracted to people on physical features. In fact, in the books, Ygritte is a bit more odd looking. Rose? Beautiful. Perfect. In the books though, she looks like wildling, and she’s a mess, and I love her?  He doesn’t have a thing for Red hair, just because he got with Ygritte. In fact he often compares her to body wise be like Arya, and no comparision of her hair to another’s from what I remember. I don’t that headcanon that Jon’s into red heads specifically, he was into Ygritte, usually it’s used to prop up J*nsa. (Although tbf, i saw the first ep of GoT before reading the books, and I thought him and Cat were fucking bc of one camera pan, so like. Michelle and Kit have chemistry, I’ll say it. DO NOT TAKE THAT ANY OTHER WAY)

- Also we know from the scripts, that in Season 7, Arya was right. We know how Sansa feels anyway, and Jon clearly. Even then, in the books or show, not happening. 

- Speaking of, why would Jon become romantically interested in his sister’s childhood bully? The girl that bullied him too? I don’t like that trope. Jon wouldn’t put personal pleasure above Arya’s discomfort and hurt that Jon now prefers the perfect one, when all childhood he preferred Arya. He wouldn’t go there, even if he did feel something for Sans. He loves Arya too much to hurt her like that. She’d go from most important person in his life, to second to Sans yet again. With other women, this isn’t a problem, but with Sans it is for that reason. Childhood traumatic bully, that still has left scars on Arya’s psyche two years after not seeing her. Theon remembers it! After years as Reek, he remembers, it’s not an insignificant thing, so why would Jon?? 

- Jon Snow is more than his ships, and I think he’s a good boy too. 

- I dont like the R+L=J plot all that much, it feels so Luke Skywalker-y and the fandom grossly misinterpreted it, as well as Lyanna and Rhaegar and it’s...Lyanna is 14-16 years old, and Rhaegar is 30+ and married with kids. Elia Martell deserved better, and Jon would agree with me on that, change my mind. In saying that, sure go ahead George, i wanna see how you do it. Probably better than D&D, because Aegon and Rhaenys didn’t deserve to be disinherited bc the Seven is based on Catholicism, and divorce in catholicism... well look at Henry VIII

- Jon killed Ygritte with his arrow. You can’t change my mind. 

- Catelyn emotionally abused Jon growing up, and I hate it. Why don’t we talk about this more? 

- Jon Snow doesn’t actually want to be king. That’s my opinion, and I said what I said. Bran should be King in the North, and Winterfell is his 

Both: 

- They wouldn’t bond over being Ned and Robert’s sons. Bc they both hate Robert, at least I think Jon does? 

- They’d bond over being the favourite people of Arya Stark 

- Arya Stark 

- They would be good friends though, I can see them getting along?
