Catherine threatening a certain shade with redemption is the most fascinating turn this story has taken.

"I will Power of Friendship you into someone for whom killing you later will mean something" is not where I thought we were going, but hey, I'll follow this toxic train to the last station

There's just something inexplicably funny about saying to the face of someone you're planning to blackmail that you would be blackmailing them. Like, not only grabbing the bull by its horns but also mocking it with a "mooo".

I’m reading through ‘A Practical Guide to Evil’ and the protagonist, who is bisexual, had such a useless lesbian moment. She described the pecs of a boy she once slept with, to the girl she currently has a crush on, just after the girl not so subtly asked if she was only interested in boys
She’s so silly, the little war criminal.

Average a practical Guide to evil character has three titles actually Just a statistical Error. Titles Catherine who lives in a Cave and has had three Names, two callowan/Praesi noble titles, two fae Mantels, three drow titles and one epithet is an outlier and should Not have been counted

in the alternate timeline where pgte got an anime i think it'd be really cool if the ops just followed the heroes as if they were the protagonists and framed catherine and company as the antagonists they need to face it'd be so cool and epic and poggers

I love that all the characters so far have gotten these amazing introductory title cards:

Even Kojo has one in episode 3! (And the one for the Calamities is GORGEOUS). And then we have Catherine's:

Propaganda
Catherine Foundling: No Propaganda Submitted
Setsuna Higashi: Grew up under a highly controlling ruler, and encountering the world of the Precure challenged everything she believed in. Nearly sacrifices herself for the villains in desperation before she accepts that it doesn’t need to be that way, and becomes a precure in the process. Takes a while to accept that her friends trust that she isn’t a villain anymore as well

If you like this trope I highly recommend a Practical Guide to Evil. The protagonist mercilessly chooses the lesser evil, again, and again, and continues to make the hard choices as the fallout piles up and bites her in the ass repeatedly and she becomes more and more like the villains she detested from the very start. Also it’s funny as hell and queer. AND a refreshing take on goblin and orc cultures that treats them as actual people!
Hate Hate Hate stories that reward characters for refusing to do triage. 'I refuse to choose only one to survive even if it means both die' [plot contrives for this to be the only way both survive] is so weak. Making difficult decisions with no good outcome is not a moral failing
