vesper + goro & jackie, fenix + delamain & rogue, and daniel + judy & misty please >:^)
vesper + goro. i think there's respect between them and maybe the slightest hint of a possible friendship that didn't have enough time to get developed. they both needed some time to trust the other for obvious reasons lmao but they end up in a quite successful partnership. but nothing more than that. they're both grateful to the other for saving each other's life and if goro would ever show up to ask for vesper's help she would gladly aid him :]
vesper + jackie. hehe ohoh..i think jackie was family for vesper. i guess the fact mama welles was so welcoming helped too. vesper never had a normal family life and didn't have parents for that long as well so every time anyone treats her even ONCE as a daughter/part of the family she turns a 15 y/o kid all over again. they complete each other, vesper is way more serious and responsible (and maybe a bit cold) which helps especially on jobs, while jackie is the one that reminds her to take life a tiny bit less seriously and that they should have fun too. they're both stubborn and hot-headed tho so that leads to them finding trouble 70% of times dksjfkfd. jackie was a confidant and someone she could count on, probably the only one friend she had when they first met, and losing him was incredibly hard
fenix + delamain. the thought makes me die idk jfdhfkjsdfn. fenix is the type of guy that would go 'do we really trust an AI to drive us around? DO WE REALLY NEED THIS?'. he'd prefer to drive his own car than let him do that for him. the distrust gets even worse when he hears about all the other delamin AIs causing mayhem around the city, he's can't stop saying 'I TOLD YOU SO' every 5 minutes. fenix doesn't trust delamain at all but he thinks that he can be..'funny' in a uncanny way, he won't admit this tho
fenix + rogue. OH BOY. these two can't stay in the same room alone or they'll start throwing hands. the dislike is mutual, fenix hates her bc of vesper ofc, he won't say it but it's clear..he has no other reason to hate someone he just met and that is now dating his ex. pure coincidence right? rogue hates him in return bc he's a complete asshole towards her every. single. time. little insults, little sarcastic comments, fenix can't shut tf up when rogue is around. they nearly fought once, rogue gave him a black eye (and then vesper broke his nose too...) bc she simply was so tired of hearing him talk shit. it doesn't get better AT ALL when vesper gets back with fenix for..obvious reasons. these two would kill each other if they could lmao
daniel + judy. these two get so well together, more than what vesper and judy have. they were coworkers once, kind of, daniel worked with mateo at lizzie's bar for a while so he had various chances to meet judy and talk with her. they are quite similar, both care about their indipendence and they both can't keep their mouth shut when someone is bothering them/doing smth they don't approve. they're good friends and judy is a regular client of daniel and nader's tattoo shop!!
daniel + misty. it was almost unlikely that they could become friends and yet. it happened. they would hang out together while vesper would go out with jackie and he would get sooo bored to stay all alone at home. daniel's first reaction when talking with misty was "she weird. a lot" which didn't stop him from talking with her tho. daniel is the kind of person that is attracted to everything he finds 'weird' or unsual, it's his curiosity probably. he doesn't believe in all the aura and spirit things misty usually talks about but he lets her talk anyway, he likes to listen to her talk so when he needs to relax he goes to misty. daniel lets her read tarots to him or do some 'aura cleansing' stuff while he paints her nails or she does the same to him. daniel is like a little brother to misty and she truly needed the company after jackie died, plus they both have such a sweet heart and know so much kindness that they would offer to each other and i love that for them

The Guy Next Door
Good Evening Everyone! I hope you enjoyed Chapter 1 because I am super anxious about Chapter 2! It will have 2 parts. (Hubby helped me put this one together) Thank you so much for reading ❤️
**I Do not give permission to Repost or Copy my work!!!
Warnings: Cursing, Mentions of Sex .
Pairing: Henry Cavill(Ronan) x Curvy African American Woman(Amunet-POV)
Description: Amunet decides to take a step forward in the direction of friendship with her new Neighbor, Ronan.
Word Count: 1,185
Ronan pt.1
Knock, Knock, Knock, Knock, Knock! Amunet groaned as she rolled over on her front side to look at the alarm clock that was sitting on her night stand. 7:37am. ‘Ugghhh,’ she whined in annoyance. ‘Who the fuck could be knocking on my door this early? I don’t even know anyone here!’ She grabbed her pillow and pulled it over her head to try and get back to sleep but— Knock, Knock, Knock, Knock, Knock! Amunet kicked her legs, throwing her pillows to the side. ‘I swear to fucking god, these folks better have a good reason to interrupt my sleep.’ The knocking just wouldn’t stop!
Skipping down the stairs, she threw her thick and curly hair up into a messy bun. ‘I’m coming! I’m coming!’ She yelled out loud as she approached the front door. But something threw her off, her locks were turned to the side in a horizontal way— the door was unlocked. Amunet was never the type to leave her doors unlocked like this. Being that most serial killers really never broke into their victims homes, the doors and/or windows were always open to their welcoming. But she figured that maybe since she was so tired… maybe she did make a mistake of not locking the door.
Twisting the knob after she pushed all of her worry to the side, she pulled the door open. ‘Oh.. it’s you. What do you want? Do you know what time it is?!’ Ronan stood there with a cheeky grin, ‘Look, I know it’s early but, I just wanted to see how you were getting along over here. It’s been a week since you’ve been here and I haven’t… really— seen you.’ Amunet raised a brow and folded her arms across her chest as she tried to hide the laugh that was fighting its way out her throat, ‘Ahhh, you were looking for me! Cute. Well, I’ve been here— unpacking—‘ Ronan peaked around her to see multiple unpacked boxes in the corner of the living room. They looked untouched; the same ones that he’d brought in for her. ‘Hmmm, looks like you’ve done a lot!’ He said in a sarcastic tone. Amunet cut her eyes at him, ‘Well, I didn’t realize that I needed to report what I was doing to Neighborhood Watch over here!’ ‘That’s Mr. Chief Neighborhood Watch to you.’ Amunet did her best not to laugh but a chuckle just erupted from her lips, then he chimed in with a laughter as well. The moment was interrupted by a police siren. She peaked to the side of him to see that there were at least 5 squad cars and the paramedics on the other side of the street. For a second she couldn’t believe that she slept through all of that commotion, but she wasn’t surprised. ‘Oof, what happened over there?’ Her eyes wandered the area, watching as people crowded in front of the blue police barricades and yellow “DO NOT CROSS! CAUTION!” tape. Ronan had turned around and raised a brow. A smirk curled up on his lips for a milli-second but then returned to something a bit more serious, ‘I was over there earlier. I heard the cops say it’s a 782… Murder.’
Amunet’s eyes slightly widened at this newfound information, the thought of someone being murdered in the same neighborhood in the safety of their own home, sent chills up and down her spine. She paid half a million dollars for her home, looked in the safest neighborhoods in the City! It was safe to say that she was kind of worried; scared for her safety now. ‘That’s too bad, Mr. Dorsey was a good man.’ He sounded sympathetic, but little did she know— he had malicious intent… always.
‘Anyway, I have a few hours before I have to go to work; would you like to go to breakfast with me?’ Amunet raised her eyebrow with her hands on her hips, ‘Breakfast? With you?’ She cackled hard, and Ronan glared at her with serious eyes. Once she took a breath, her eyebrows pulled together into one. ‘Oh, your—you’re serious! Oh— I don’t know I have to—‘ ‘Unpack. Yeah. Keep telling yourself that. You definitely have plenty of time to avoid me when I bring you back home. Just— let’s go get breakfast and then I can show you around the city. I can Show you all the cool spots.’ He was consistent that was for sure and forward. Amunet wasn’t exactly sure how she should take that. She rolled her eyes and sighed, ‘Fine. But don’t think for half a second you’re going to be sliding in these panties. They’re an extra large and I take up space.’ Ronan’s eyes grew a bit and threw his hands up in a defensive way, ‘Oh jeez, no! I wouldn’t have it.’ He chuckled and shoved his hands back in his pockets. ‘Mmmhmm. Well, let me go get dressed. Give me an hour.’ —
The sounds of dishes clinging and people chattering filled the space around them. ‘So, What do you do Netty? Where are you from? I want to know it all!’ He asked before he took a bite of his food. She giggled, ‘For starters, it’s Amunet. We aren’t friends remember?’ she argued as she stirred at her coffee. ‘Oh but we are— you think I’d be taking just anybody out to breakfast with me?’ He mused as he took a sip of his coffee. The smile had quickly returned; it was just so hard not to laugh around this guy. ‘You know you are very consistent but I’m gonna need you to pump the brakes.’ Ronan chuckled and shrugged, ‘My mother taught me to never give up. So, I appreciate the challenge.’ And then he shot her a wink. Amunet’s leg bounced vigorously as she tried to keep her thoughts as mundane as possible. ‘OK,’ she sighed as she looked up in thought, ‘I teach— I taught American history in Texas.’ ‘Texas you say? You don’t seem… Texan.’ Just when she thought she was fond of him, he had shot her down. ‘Oh? I’m sorry. Lemme throw on my cowgirl hat and cowgirl boots and talk about how women’s rights really shouldn’t matter!’ She said in a country accent. Ronan choked on his coffee trying to muffle his laugh, ‘That was good!’ He laughed as he wiped the tear from his eye. ‘I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have been a jerk.’
It was really hard not to smile in his presence.
‘It’s OK. Trust me I’ve heard worse,’ she sighed softly as she smiled, ‘What about you? What is it that you do Mr. “I can’t mind my business to save my life.”?’ Ronan smirked, raising a brow, ‘Pet names already? Damn, we haven’t even been on our second date yet!’ Amunet laughed and took another sip of her coffee, ‘Mmmhmmm.’
Ronan stared at her for a long moment before — ‘I’m a mortician. And— before you ask— yes I like it. It brings me peace. In fact, the only place I can find peace is at the morgue.’

You’re sitting on your couch, eating popcorn and watch Fresh Prince reruns when your phone starts to ring. As expected.
“Hello?”
“Y/N, where the hell are you? You said you would come.” You groan loudly. “I know, but I started to feel kind of sick and I didn’t want to get everyone else sick, you know?”
There’s a pause at the other end of the phone for a couple of seconds before, “You’re such a liar. You’re never sick.” You roll your eyes at that. Of course he would know that.
Ah yes, Scott Evans, your best friend of multiple years. You had met in college and practically hated each other at first. You both were very sarcastic people and it annoyed each of you in the beginning, but you ended bonding because you were the only people that really understood each other’s humour.
“Fine, I just didn’t want to come, okay? I’m tired and I just wanted to chill at home.”
“But Y/N, you never miss the mid-summer barbeque. My mom keeps asking when you’re getting here. And I freaking miss you. Just like pop over and eat a burger or something than you can go back to your popcorn and your cat boyfriend.”
“Hey! Leave Mr. Business alone, he didn’t go anything to you.”
Scott bursts into laughter at that.
“Okay, okay, sorry Mr. Business. But Y/N, seriously, please, just come for a while.”
You groan even louder than the first time, “Fine. But I’m eating a hot-dog and fruit salad and then I’m leaving.”
“Yes! Okay, see you in 30!”
You hang up the phone and reluctantly get up from your couch, headed to take a shower.
You normally didn’t mind going to Lisa’s house because you adored Scott’s family. Since the beginning, they had all been so nice and welcoming to you. Well, you know, except Chris.
Chris and you did not get along, to say the least. He annoyed the shit out of you, always showing up with a new bimbo on his arm, making out like there’s no tomorrow in front of everybody. Like, literally. Every single time you saw him, he was with a new girl. He also spent the entire time you were at the house taking digs at you. Always for different reasons, which kudos for the originality, but they were always increasingly mean. This meant that you could never stay too long when Chris was there or you would lose your shit, like at that one Christmas dinner. Oof, bad memories.
As you’re standing in front of your closet, you contemplate all of your summer clothes. You end up deciding on a sheer long sleeve top and black dress. You rapidly do your hair and makeup as you hear Scott sending multiple texts, probably asking where you are.
You finally arrive at the house about 45 minutes later. You immediately head to the backyard, where lively noise and soft music are coming from.
As soon as you get in the backyard, you spot Scott, sitting on a chair, beer in hand, talking with his mom.
When he sees you, his face lights up and he excitedly waves you over.
“Hi guys!”
“Y/N! We were starting to think that you weren’t going to show up!”
You laugh slightly, “You know me, always have to make an entrance and all!”
You sit down on a chair next to them and listen distractedly as they continue with their conversation.
As you’re starting to think about getting yourself to eat, Chris enters the backyard with another one of his hook-ups, as on schedule. You roll your eyes slightly as you tell Scott and Lisa that you’ll be right back and head to the food table.
You’re distracted by the customization of your food and don’t realize that your seat is now occupied by your least favorite Evans.
“Um, excuse me. I was sitting there.”
Chris barely spares you a glance as his hook-up looks at you, offended, and scoffs. “So? There’s plenty of chairs in the backyard.”
“Okay, well, this chair has my phone on it so obviously I was going to come back to sit here, so move.”
Chris makes a mocking pout at you and says, “Oh, you’re right, sorry.” He then rolls his eyes and smirks, “Or not.”
You grind your jaw and swallow your pride. There’s no need to make a scene. You give Chris the fakest smile you can muster and bend down to take your phone from the chair’s drink holder and turn around to sit on the other side of the pool.
Unfortunately for you, this gives you a direct view of Chris’ make-out session. You shudder and groan as you direct your attention to the children playing in the pool.
After eating, you head to the cooler to get a beer but, of course, it’s empty.
Knowing that Scott always keeps a secret stash of his favorite beers in the basement, you leave your plate and phone on the chair before heading inside. As you go down the stairs, you remember that they didn’t have any light down here. Would have been pretty smart to bring your phone but, oh well, too late.
You get a bottle from the fridge before cracking it open on the door. You’re about to go back upstairs when a sound surprises you and you let out a scream while throwing a punch out in the dark.
“Ow, you hit my face! What the fuck is your problem?”
Of course it would be him.
“Well, you scared the shit out of me so not my fault.”
You skirt around him and head back upstairs. However, before you can pass through the kitchen and head back to the backyard, you feel a hand around your arm.
“Wait. I wanna talk to you for a second.”
You turn around and shake your arm out of his grip. You take a sip of your beer while you wait for him to speak. Chris sighs loudly before asking, “Why do you hate me?”
You choke on your beer before looking at him with wide eyes.
“Excuse me?”
“You’re always super rude to me whenever you see me, and you always leave parties after like an hour when I’m here.”
“Okay, so we’re doing this.” Chris frowns in confusion at this.
“First of all, I don’t hate you, you just really annoy me. You’re always showing up with a new girl, always more plastic than the one before. You’re always eating their faces in front of everyone, which like, ew. And you’re the one that’s rude to me, by the way, so…”
You shrug and are ready to down your beer and leave when Chris whispers, “Wait, you don’t like that?”
“Why the fuck would I want to see you making out with a different girl every few weeks?”
“But Scott said that-” When he realizes what he’s saying, he stops abruptly and puts a hand in front of his mouth.
You tilt your head in confusion, “Scott said what?”
“Umm… Well, he said that… Uh, you liked bad boys?’
You feel heat making its way from your belly all the way up to your cheeks. You were attracted to the more edgy ones but what the hell did that have to do with anything?
“And?’
“Well… I thought that, you know, if I was like that, you would like me?”
Realization hits you and you mutter, “Oh my God, I’m way too sober for this shit.”
You gulp down the rest of your beer and try to think of what to say when you hear, “Baby, come back outside.”
Chris’ date saunters into the kitchen and glares at you as she practically hangs herself from his arm.
“Yeah, um, good luck with that,” you gesture to the girl next to Chris and finish with, “and I’m gonna go.”
You put your beer bottle in the trash and head to the backyard. You get your phone and rapidly say by to Scott and Lisa before practically running out to your car.
Tumblr media
Once you’re back home, back in your pyjamas and watching TV, you ponder over your short conversation with Chris. It kind of made sense that he suddenly started acting all macho around you. The first few times you had met Chris, he had been pretty nice to you but was very reserved. You just assumed that fame had gotten to his head and that’s why he had started acting like that. You roll your eyes as you remember that Chris had said that he was acting like that because of Scott.
you, 6:45pm:
so why exactly and in what circumstances did you reveal my type to chris?
You put your phone down but almost immediately receive a response.
scott, 6:45pm:
I didn’t know you guys could have a conversation without murdering each other.
I don’t even remember talking about this with him
you, 6:46pm:
he told me that you told him that i liked “bad boys”
scott, 6:46pm:
Oh, that
I’m pretty sure I told him that like 15 years ago when you met him
You frown at this. He’s been acting like a dumbass for 15 years and for what? You shake your head as you look for Chris’ name in your phone contacts.
you, 6:47pm:
where are you right now?
You put your phone down and head to the kitchen to make yourself a quick snack to eat. As you’re washing the things you used, you hear a text message coming in.
christopher, 7:03pm:
I just got home.
Why?
you, 7:03pm:
we need to talk, come over
You were kind of nervous. Chris had never come inside your house and you were sure that he would have plenty to say about it, but you were not in the mood at all.
About 15 minutes later, you hear your doorbell ring. You exhale slowly before opening the door and stepping aside to let Chris in.
He walks in and looks around before turning back to you and saying, “It’s pretty.” You could feel that he was different from the other times you had seen each other.
You mutter a “thanks” and motion for Chris to follow you in the living room.
“Okay, so you said that Scott told you the type of guys that I liked but you didn’t say why he told you that.”
“Um, I asked him, a long time ago.”
“Why?”
“Well, you know…”
You start to get annoyed and reply, “No, I don’t know, otherwise you wouldn’t be sitting here right now, would you?”
Chris exhales loudly before responding, “I thought you were beautiful and smart, and I liked you and I wanted to be like the other guys you liked.”
“I- huh?”
“At first, I thought it would make you laugh or something but then you didn’t react so I thought that if I was a little mean, you would notice me but then it didn’t work so I thought that I would try to make you jealous and here we are.”
You look at Chris with your mouth agape as you try to register what he just said.
“That seems rather cliché, no?”
“Yeah, I know, it was dumb and weird, but I didn’t know what else to do to make you notice me.”
“I don’t really know what to say, to be honest…”
“How about I take out sometime and you can get to know the real me?”
“Umm… I guess?”
Chris gets up, a grin on his face, as he heads towards your front door.
“I’ll text you then.”
As you hear Chris start his car and leave, you’re still sitting on the couch, completely shocked.
What the fuck just happened?

CALIFORNIA KING || CHUBBY!BUCKY BARNES
Tumblr media
pairing: Chubby!Sheriff!Bucky Barnes x black!reader || word count: 6,429 || warnings: smut, sex, vaginal fingering, hand job, bad language words
authors note: here we are! chubs is finally here! we’re set back in Virginia in the 60s in this one, but we’re not acknowledging the bullshit of the time period. i write to get away from real world issues, and i like the clothes in this decade. you will also notice a few characters from a certain show called Lovecraft Country, because, well, I like them a lot too. please enjoy.
line divider by, you guessed it, @firefly-graphics (they’re all so pretty)
Tumblr media
Virginia, 1964
Your heels click along the pavement as you move towards the small diner in the middle of town. The sun is high and hot, the beams beating down on your bare shoulders as you adjust your yellow rimmed sunglasses over your face. Your white purse swings off the tips of your fingers, your bracelet, a present from Bucky, clinking softly against your watch, (another present from Bucky), as you move with confidence.
Your sister Ruby moves quietly behind you, her eyes out in front, scanning the sidewalk and street as the two of you go, “You shouldn’t come out dressed like that.” She huffs in your direction as she catches the eye of two older white women moving in your direction.
You turn your head towards her and then glance at the women walking past you, their eyes dropping down to your slightly exposed midriff, then your high waisted, navy blue shorts. You push your sunglasses down your nose and maintain eye contact with them as the two women move by.
“I’m not worried about these small town hicks.” You answer loudly, turning around to walk backward so you can keep your eyes on them, “I am free to dress how I please, thank you.”
Ruby shakes her head as she laughs sarcastically, “You never did know how to act.”
“It is 1964. They just need to get the fuck over it - we are here. This is just as much our town as it is theirs.” You spit, tossing your short hair slightly, “Plus, not everybody here is like them.”
Ruby closes her eyes and holds up her hands, completely uninterested in what you’re about to say, “You are playing with fire with that sheriff,” she hisses quietly, “And I don’t want to hear about it.”
You shrug defiantly, “Fine, then don’t. Let’s just get our rootbeer floats and not argue for once, okay?”
“Okay.”
“Fine.”
“Perfect.”
“Wonderful.” You seethe, flicking your wrist towards her, ending the quick squabble. You grab the door handle and pull open the door to the diner, stepping to the side to allow your sister to pass, “After you.”
Ruby cuts her eyes towards you and smirks unenthusiastically before she crosses through the threshold. You roll your eyes and follow in behind her, removing your sunglasses and shoving them in your purse as you follow her to the front counter. The two of you sit side by side, Ruby smoothing her hands over her green, pleated swing dress, you waving down the young waiter.
“Afternoon ladies, it’s a hot one, huh?” he asks nicely, smiling at the two of you as he slides menus in your direction.
“It is, thank you,” you start, glancing over the menu, “I think I’m going to have a burger and fries, with a rootbeer float.”
“Great choice, and you, Ruby?”
She smiles, handing her menu back to him, “An olive loaf sandwich please. Potato chips, and a rootbeer float as well.”
“I’ll have it right up ladies.”
He disappears into the back and you and Ruby fall into your usual rhythm, practically ignoring each other. The front door chimes as a group of women move inside, their giggles filling the relatively quiet diner. You eye them as they move by, catching the glance of one Dottie Bodecker, your arch nemesis since grade school. Her blonde hair swings back and forth behind her head as she smiles at you, wiggling her manicured fingers as her group moves to the end of the long bar, taking up four seats.
“So Dottie,” you hear one of the brunettes start, “Do you think tonight’s the night? You think Sheriff Barnes is going to ask you to go with him to his re-election fundraiser?”
You flick your eyes towards them, drawing in a deep breath at the sound of his name. Dottie turns her head towards you, her blue eyes linking with yours where she smiles quickly before turning back to her friends, “I think so.” She answers cheerfully, another giggle escaping her lips, “We have been getting so close lately. I really think he’s gonna ask me to start going steady.”
You scoff loudly before laughter falls from your lips. Ruby hits your leg underneath the counter as you pull out a cigarette and place it between your lips, lighting it. You feel their eyes on you as you flick the butt of the cigarette, ridding it of the ash that’s built up and take another slow drag. You keep your eyes forward, not wanting to engage because you know if you engage -
“Here we go ladies,” the waiter says, cutting through your thoughts, “A burger and fries, an olive loaf with potato chips, and two rootbeer floats. Enjoy.”
Heat blooms across your skin as anger starts to brim just below the surface. You and Dottie have had the same common goal for almost six months - Sheriff James Buchanan “Bucky” Barnes. The anger in you makes you start to wonder why the two of you are warring over him in the first place. He’s ten years older than the both of you, has a nasty divorce behind him, and by the sight of his tummy, he’s enjoyed one too many slices of Ambrosia cake. To you and Dottie though, he might as well be Marlon Brando.
It’s the way his eyes crinkle at the sides when he smiles. The way his nose scrunches when he smiles really big. It’s the softness in his voice when he says your name. The shyness that controls him whenever he’s come to bring you a flower. It’s the way he’s a dreamer - how he promises you a little house out in the middle of nowhere, complete with a white picket fence and a golden retriever. A couple of kids. A big old bed where he promises to always keep you pleased.
He’s the most beautiful man you’ve ever seen - the softest and the sweetest too.
“Just relax and eat your food.” Ruby whispers, squeezing your knee, “She’s just trying to get your goat.”
You flick the butt of your cigarette again, “Well, she fucking got it.” You sigh, grabbing a french fry and biting it angrily.
Dottie continues to gab to her friends loudly, Bucky and I this, Bucky and I that - deep down you know it’s bullshit. He spends too much time sniffing around you to give her the type of attention she’s trying to convince her friends of, but it still gets under your skin. You eat slowly, your lips pursed, your eyes staring a hole into the wall in front of you, your hearing absolutely piqued.
“Did I tell you he drove me home from work the other day?” Dottie says, running her hand over her ponytail as her lips curl into another smile behind her red painted lips, “He even stayed for dinner.”
“Well, your meatloaf is to die for, Dottie. He would have been crazy not to stay!”
You cut your eyes over towards them again just as Dottie leans into her friends, glancing around to see if anyone is listening (as if she honestly cares), “Did I also mention that he stayed the night?”
You slam your balled fist onto the counter, rattling the plates and cups and silverware that sit on the bar. All four heads of Dottie’s group snap towards you, Ruby’s eyes going wide as her mouth drops open.
“Is everything okay, hun?” Dottie asks sweetly, venom dripping from every word.
You lift your hand and plaster a fake smile on your face, scrunching your nose as you shrug, “I’m quite alright, Dottie. Just um, dropped my fork is all.”
“Oh,” she laughs a little, placing her gloved hand to her chest, “That must be a heavy fork.”
“Not as heavy as my fist will be against your -”
“We’re fine,” Ruby cuts in, a bright smile on her face as she nods towards Dottie, “Thank you for askin’, Dottie.”
Dottie smiles again as she tips her head towards Ruby, “You are very welcome, Miss Ruby.”
“Fake ass bitch.” You growl under your breath, prompting a hard pinch on your thigh,”Ow!”
“Just,” Ruby starts, widening her eyes at you, “Eat. Your. Food.”
You take another angry bite of your french fry and cut your eyes towards the glass door, staring out onto the street as you flick your cigarette again. Sheriff James Buchanan Barnes has no idea what he’s just gotten himself into.
-----
You sway your hips back and forth as your hair falls into your face. The music is loud, thumping even, as Ruby and her band plays up on the stage. An arm is thrown around your waist, pulling your closer as the two of you dance - chest to back, hips tucked into your behind. You laugh as you throw your arm around his neck and dip down low, a wider smile breaking onto your face as he moves with you.
The two of you push back up where you spin around to face him, grabbing the hem of your dress and pulling it up on your thighs as you continue to shake your hips. You throw the material of your expensive, new dress, and then swish it around, before you drop it to raise your hands in the air and spin back around.
That’s when you see them.
Those eyes.
Those deep set, deep blue orbs that always seem to find you when in the middle of a crowd. His lips are set in a hard line, his cheeks red, his jaw tight. He sucks his teeth as he leans his elbow on the bar. He blinks, slowly, cutting his eyes towards the bartender just long enough to grab the shot that’s handed to him before they are back on you, watching you grind against the stranger behind you.
Too damn bad for him.
You grab the man’s hand and pull it tighter around your waist, keeping your smaller hand on top of his as you dip slowly down to the floor again - your eyes never leaving the sheriff’s. You break the eye contact with him to glance over your shoulder as a devilish smile curls onto your painted lips as the two of you dance, your lips dangerously close to his. You push your behind into his hips and laugh when the man hoots and hollers before clapping his hands to the beat of the music.
You flick your eyes back to the sheriff’s just as he downs the brown liquid in the small glass in his hands and slams it on the counter, immediately asking for another. You smirk and wink at him before you turn in the man’s hands that are currently around your waist and away from the hard, angry eyes bearing into you.
“Boo!”
You spin to the side when a finger presses into your side and shriek when you come face to face with your little sister, “Leti!” You shout, wrapping your arms around her neck and swaying her back and forth, “I thought y’all said you wouldn’t be back from Chicago until next week! Tic! Come here!”
You release her to throw your arms around Leti’s boyfriend, Atticus Freeman’s neck, having to stand on your tiptoes to hug him tightly as he chuckles in your ear, “We just decided to cut it short, that’s all.” He answers.
“Yeah, right,” you smile, slapping him gently on his shoulder, “You two got into some trouble up there, didn’t you?”
“Never!” Leti exclaims as she smiles mischievously, holding up her hand, “And that’s scouts honor. Listen,” she says, glancing over her shoulder back towards the bar, “I’ve heard from a few people already. They’re saying that the sheriff is asking about you at the bar.”
“Well,” You wave her off, “You can tell them to tell him to mind his goddamn business.”
“Girl, you’ve got that man seething over there!” Tic laughs, “Askin’ how you know this fool,” he says, pointing towards your dancing partner, “What his name is, when he got into town, how long you been here tonight…”
You shrug defiantly, batting your eyes at the pair of people in front of you, “Not my problem.”
“You’ve got your nerve!” Leti laughs, “Who in their right mind antagonizes the goddamn sheriff?”
“The very same one who dates the goddamn sheriff.” Tic says, shaking his head, “Y’all’s mama gave y’all balls of steel.”
Leti rolls her eyes but smiles widely, grabbing your wrists and pulling you deeper into the mass of people. The three of you dance the hours away as Ruby keeps the small club rocking. You’re covered in a thin sheen of sweat, out of cigarettes, and slightly tipsy when Tic wants to get you and Leti home, so you relent without a fight.
You push out into the night air, the breeze instantly cooling your balmy skin. You giggle as Leti mumbles in your ear and take a few steps into the alley before you stop dead in your tracks. Sheriff Bucky leans against the brick building, his head turned towards the street but snapping back to you when he hears your familiar laughter. He pushes away from the wall and places his hands on his hips and utility belt where he taps his nervous, angry fingers.
He clears his throat and takes a deep breath, pushing it out of his nostrils harshly as he turns his head towards the building again, trying and failing to maintain a calm demeanor, “Tic, I wasn’t um, I wasn’t aware you were back in town. Welcome home, soldier.”
Tic shifts his eyes to you before he nods towards Bucky and takes his extended hand, “Thank you sheriff, that’s uh, that’s mighty kind of you.”
“You’re a brave man, fighting for this country. You let me know if anybody gives you any trouble, you hear? Ms. Lewis, how are you this evening?”
“Mighty fine, sheriff. Thanks for askin’.” Leti answers, offering him a soft smile. She knows what it’s like to be on the ass end of one of your fits.
You stare at him as he nods slowly, clearing his throat again before he shifts his eyes back to you. You cross your arms over your chest and tilt your head as you blink at him slowly and let out a hard breath. He drops his eyes down your body, then snaps them back up to yours, his lip slightly snarled the entire time.
He points at you quickly, before he drops his hand back to his belt and glances back at the building, “May I speak to you, please?” he asks, clearing his throat again.
“What for?”
He chuckles lightly, widening his eyes as he drops them to your feet, “You know what for.” he snaps, still tapping his fingers against his hips, “Please.”
You glance at Leti and Tic, whose eyes have settled on you after the quick tennis match between you and Bucky. You sigh again, “I’ll meet you guys at home, okay?”
“Are you sure?” Leti whispers, pushing up closer to you, “He looks mad.”
You roll your eyes, “I can handle him. I’ll be fine.”
Leti grabs Tic’s hand and moves past Bucky, “Have a good night, sheriff.”
“You as well, Ms. Lewis.” He glances over his shoulder as Tic and Leti move down the alley, and only turns back to face you once they’ve turned the corner, “You stood me up.” He spits angrily, pointing at you again.
You shrug, indifference written on your face, “I don’t know what you mean.”
“You know exactly what I mean!” he hisses, taking a few steps towards you, “Damn it, I waited forty five minutes for you.”
“You get out of my face.” you scoff, pushing his shoulders roughly.
“So I spend all day worrying about you, only to find you here with some jerk’s hands all over you!”
You laugh, rolling your eyes, “Spent all day worrying about me, did you? That’s rich.”
“Okay,” he barks, nodding quickly as he chews on the inside of his cheek, “What is it? Huh? What did I do now?”
“Like you don’t know.”
“I don’t know! Please! Enlighten me.”
You cross your arms over your chest again, staring down the alley. You feel his eyes staring into the side of your face, waiting for you to speak.
“Answer me, damn it!”
“Why don’t you ask Dottie Bodecker what you did wrong?” you hiss, snapping your head back to face him.
His face contorts in confusion, his shoulders slumping slightly, “Dottie Bodecker? The fuck she have to do with anything?”
“Her meatloaf is to die for, isn’t it?”
He rolls his eyes and throws his hands up dramatically, turning and taking a few steps away from you. He spins back around seconds later, shaking his head, “If you don’t start saying what you mean, girl!”
“You slept with Dottie Bodecker a few nights back and I’m done letting you make a fool a’ me!” you scream as your eyes squint hard.
You brush past him, bumping his shoulder as you start down the alley, walking fast as you huff, the anger bubbling. You hear his heavy feet behind you, his keys jingling as he wraps his fingers around your bicep. You shrug away from him and whirl around, pointing your thin finger in his face, “Don’t you touch me.”
“I did not sleep with Dottie Bodecker!” He hisses, “Where are you getting that load of shit from?”
“From Dottie herself. She told the entire diner this afternoon!”
“Well she’s full of it!” He shouts back, “I didn’t touch that woman!”
“But you drove her home from work?” You ask, antagonizing him, raising your eyebrows and crossing your arms over your chest.
He scoffs, placing his hands on his hips again, “Yes. I drove her home. She flagged me down -” You start walking again, completely uninterested in hearing his sorry ass story, “Goddamn it. Listen to me!” He shouts, grabbing your arm again, “I did not touch that woman. I have never touched her. I promise you.”
“And why should I believe you? Huh?” You ask, breathing hard, your eyes wide and bouncing between his, “Tell me!”
“Because I love you!” He shouts loudly - so loudly that it makes you slam your mouth shut, “Goddamn it!”
You watch as he starts to pace, dragging his hand through his short, dark hair angrily before he drops it to his side. Because I love you! The words bounce around your brain as he places his hands back on his hips.
A hint of a smile tugs at the corners of your mouth.
That’s the first time he’s said it.
He loves you.
“You know what?” he says after a moment, turning back to face you again, “You want to continue to play games with Dottie, you go right ahead, but you leave me out of it. I have been nothing but good to you, nothing but open, nothing but doting… I’m done, you hear me? Done. Keep playin’ your little goddamn games!”
You click your tongue and roll your eyes again as he walks off, tugging at the leather jacket covering his torso. He can barely zip the damn thing. You sigh and tilt your head as he turns around the front of the building as embarrassment starts to flood through you. Your skin heats up again, but this time from the feeling of turning out to be the asshole, which doesn't happen very often (it probably should.)
The sound of your heels clicking against the concrete bounces off the buildings as you move to the end of the alley, peaking around the corner to find his police car still sitting at the curb. You spot his head resting back on the seat and put your hands behind your back as you walk slowly towards the passenger side. You lean over and glance in the window, finding his eyes closed and his hands on the wheel as he breathes in and out, in and out, in and out.
You glance up and down the street before you knock on the window, “Can I get in?”
“No.”
You click your tongue and let your shoulders slump, “Come on, sheriff.”
You watch as he exhales hard and you have to drop your head so that he can’t see the smile that forms on your lips. He reaches over and pops open the door before he straightens up in the seat, keeping his eyes forward as you slide in next to him. You chew on your lip as you blink over at him, your eyes trailing down his bicep and forearm before you start playing with your fingers.
“I’m sorry.” You say quietly, your voice small and slightly playful.
“I don’t want to hear it.” He answers quick, holding up his hand.
You laugh a little but cover your mouth quickly with your thin fingers as he cuts his eyes towards you. He huffs again and you start to whine, closing your eyes and tilting your head towards the roof, “Sheriff, look at me.”
“No.”
“Come on,” You laugh, “I said I was sorry.”
“And that’s just supposed to make this all better? Right? Just because you said you’re sorry?” he asks softly, turning to face you.
You shrug, dropping your eyes to your fingers again, “Yeah?”
He laughs earnestly at your sheer audacity. You smile, biting down into your bottom lip as you send your eyes toward him, your smile softening at the sight of him. The crinkles are back. His nose is scrunched, his eyes turned into slits as he laughs. You glance down between the two of you and see a bouquet of flowers on the floorboard.
His laughter dies down and he shakes his head as he lets out a sigh, “You are such a stubborn ass.”
“But that’s why you like me, right?”
He looks over at you, his eyes moving around your face, “Maybe.” He answers softly.
You grab his hand and place it in your lap, your thumb rubbing gently over his knuckles. You blink at each other, all of the anger and agitation bleeding out of you both like it wasn’t even there to begin with. He squeezes your hand and rubs the tips of your fingers with his thumb before he leans over to kiss you softly.
You moan, your eyes closing instinctively as his pillow soft lips hit yours for the first time that day. Relief and calm washes through you as he massages your lips with his and loops his arm around your waist, pulling you closer. You're soon pressed up against his wide chest and body, your hands sliding over his shoulders and to his back. You hug him tightly to you as the intensity builds quickly, his stomach pushing over his belt and pressing into yours. You hum as his thick fingers skip up your thigh, palming your flesh softly.
His lips fall to your neck, his head nudging yours upward to gain full access to your sensitive skin. He sucks lightly, making you tense and moan as a jolt of sensation shoots straight to your sex. You grip his shoulder softly as that wandering hand moves further up your thigh - right into your dress, where his fingertips brush against your warm, tingly sex.
“Sheriff,” You breathe, spreading your legs and pushing your hips forward as you rub his shoulder.
“Yes ma’am?” He answers, his voice low and heady.
“Take me home and take advantage of me, please.”
His chuckle vibrates through your flesh. He nips at your neck, his teeth dragging along your skin, “As much as I’d love to darlin’, I’m on duty.” You groan in dissatisfaction, making him laugh again, “You shouldn’t have blown me off earlier, I could have taken care of you then.”
He pushes your panties to the side and brushes his fingers over your soft skin, where you shiver instantly. He pulls back so that he can watch your face as he pushes between your folds, stroking your slit gently, teasing you with just the tips of his fingers. You hiss and squeeze your legs together, jutting your hips forward to try and coax him inside.
He doesn’t take the bait.
But he wants to.
He glances over his shoulder behind the car and then out in front, finding the streets bare. He can hear the muffled sounds of Ruby’s band still going strong inside the small club. There’s been no calls over the radio in over an hour. He’s got time. He kisses your mouth quickly and pulls his hand from out of your dress to turn the key, bringing the loud engine to life, filling the silent night air with noise.
You push up onto your knees as he pulls away from the curb and throw your arms around his neck, your tongue sneaking out to lick just under his ear. You smile when you feel him shiver from the contact. You plant kisses on the side of his face and along his jaw before you blow softly into his ear, making him jump in his seat. You grab his earlobe with your teeth and pull softly as you drag your hand down his chest and over his soft stomach where you start to fumble with his belt.
The car speeds up suddenly as he jams his foot on the accelerator when your hand slithers into his pants. You laugh when expletives fall from his lips, the car swerving as he struggles to keep his eyes open and on the road in front of you. Pumping him slowly, you grab your bottom lip between your teeth again and rest your forehead against his temple. You breathe heavily into his ear, humming and moaning as you stroke him quickly, your thumb brushing over his sensitive tip.
Bucky weaves you through the empty town and finally pulls up behind the police station, blending in with the small fleet of exactly two other police cars. He loops his arm around your waist again, pulling you closer - sitting you down on the seat. He grabs your calves and throws them over his thighs and rucks your dress up around your waist. He slips his fingers underneath the band of your panties and pulls roughly, slipping them right down your legs and over your heels to throw them into the backseat.
You squeak when his thick digits push into you, his thumb flattening against your clit. He starts to pump, slow and deep, his blue eyes scanning your face as he drags in air through his open mouth. You roll your hips into his hand as he strokes your walls and teases your clit, you hooking your arm around his neck. You sit up straighter and push your chest into his side, keeping one leg thrown over his thigh, and placing the other on the floorboard - leaving you spread open.
He kisses you quickly, moaning and then hissing as your hand continues to push along his shaft. He brushes his nose against yours, his warm breath washing over your face as you nuzzle right back into him, your mouth falling open as he curls his fingers inside of you.
“God, sheriff,” You rasp, your hand halting as he strokes your insides.
“What was that, darlin’?” He whispers, his words full but languid, “What’s my name, sweetheart?”
You tense, pushing your body up the back of the seat as you squeak again, his fingers pushing deeper and harder. You buck your hips into his hand, throwing your head back, your hair tickling the exposed skin of your back, “Oh, sheriff.” you pant.
“That’s right, you sweet little thing,” He coos, “You fuck my fingers, sweetheart.”
You hum before licking your lips slowly, “I want more than your fingers, sheriff,” you say, your words rushed and hot. You lean forward and kiss him hard, placing your hands on either side of his full face, brushing your thumbs over his cheeks.
You pull away after only a few seconds, dragging in ragged breaths, your chest heaving hard. Reaching behind your back, you pull on the zipper of your dress, the material falling away from your body - leaving you naked.
Bucky inhales sharply.
You lay back on the seat, wrapping your legs around his waist as he twists and leans over you. He reaches out and places his hand in the center of your chest, right between your breasts and just leaves it there for a second as he blinks. You arch your back, rolling your shoulders and head when he sweeps his fingers down your sternum, stopping at your belly button. You grab his hand and bring it to your right breast, cupping your supple flesh as you force your back away from the seat again and suck the tip of his index finger into your mouth.
He pulls his hand away reluctantly - but keeps his eyes on you as he shrugs out of his leather jacket. He blinks slowly, pulling his eyes down your smooth, brown skin as his fingers work out the knot of his tie. He loosens it quickly and pulls off the thin clip before he yanks the tie over his head and discards it to the floor. He flattens his palm on the inside of your thigh and pushes it down to your sex, massaging you again as his free hand pops the buttons of his shirt.
Your mouth drops open as you purr at the sensations rippling through you as he touches you, his fingers soft and slow, “Bucky,” you keen.
He hears the desperation - the ache - the trembling need in your voice. He wants to satisfy it. All of it. All of you. He pushes his pants low on his hips, down to his knees before he adjusts his position between your legs, leaning over you further. You grip his sides as his stomach rests against yours, his cock pushing at your entrance.
His eyes wander again, away from your face and down your virtuous body, knowing he and he alone has been the only man to boast its yield, “You’re beautiful.” The words slip off his tongue like silk. He means it.
“You’re beautiful.” You return quickly, running your hands down his soft, wide chest.
You know he doesn’t believe it when you say it. Out loud, in this vulnerable position. All of him on display. Every little roll and crevasse for you to see - he isn’t Tic. He isn’t six foot something, with cannons for arms and a washboard stomach. He’s just a man, a simple man, in love with a beautiful, bold, mischievous woman.
You dig your fingers into his flesh as he enters you, spreading you. You thrust your chest towards his as you slam your eyes closed, gasping at the fullness - the completeness - you feel. Your body starts to lunge upward, your breasts pushing with the movement. His weight leaves you as he sits back on his knees, his hips still prodding as he draws your leg up onto his chest and shoulder, dropping kisses on your ankle.
There’s fingers around your throat, squeezing gently before they venture up your chin and into your mouth. You accept them willingly as he flattens his free hand to your chest again. You stretch your arm forward, slinking your thin digits up his arm to his bicep as his hips push, push, push into yours. Soft. Deliberate. Slow. Ravishing you in the only way you know - the only way you want.
The pressure builds in your stomach, steady and purposed. He knows it - he knows you. So, he grabs your hips, pulls them closer, your legs falling over his thighs, your feet sliding along the old leather seat as he fucks you. He leans over you again, knowing you like his weight on you. He digs his hips into yours - his cock plunging into your soft, accepting cunt as he watches you. Mouth hanging. Lips red. Breath heavy.
It’s a rhythm. An intricate dance the two of you have perfected over time. Pushing and pulling. Giving and taking. The windows are foggy with the heat your bodies have created - your skin damp; balmy. Little droplets of sweat beading between your breasts. His tongue is quick to rid you of them, the droplets, pushing out from behind his lips to lap at your skin. He’d do anything to please you.
Fingers tweak your thick nipples. Rough palms grip your hips. Deep groans, low hisses fill your ears. Soft words, pretty designations falling from his lips. Affirmations of love.
“I love you,” you pant, your words shuddering with each breath, “Bucky, I-”
“I know it, doll. I know it.”
You choke suddenly as the fire spreads without warning. Your orgasm rushes through you, burning a familiar path through your wilderness. Bucky fucks harder as you come - the sound of his skin slapping against yours growing louder, his grip on your hips harder.
He loves to hear you. Crying, screeching, mewling, howling as his body peels you apart, layer by layer. He loves to watch you - shuddering and trembling, hips jerking, toes curling. It’s all he needs, all he wants. He wraps his fingers loosely around your throat again and lets himself go, strained grunts accompanying your ungodly sounds as he starts to spurt over and over.
You flatten your feet against the seat and push your hips upward - still gasping, still jerking uncontrolled as the synapses continue to fire. The additional warmth he provides as he spills into you electrifies you. No other man will know the depths of you, will fill you with his seed. You’re ruined - and you like it that way.
He collapses on top of you when he can’t hold himself up any longer. Soft skin against soft skin. You instantly corral him in your arms, pushing your dainty fingers into his soft, brown hair as he nuzzles into your neck. Breath still hard and hot. You're sticky and he’s sticky, a satisfied haze drifting into your eyes and brain, lulling you.
He pulls you up with him seconds later, his eyes darting around the empty, quiet parking lot, glancing out the back before he scans through the windshield. He pulls his pants back up over his hips and reaches into the backseat to grab the blanket he keeps stowed away, wrapping it around you. He pulls you close, slinking that long arm around your shoulder and pushing his nose against yours as a lazy smile covers his face.
You hum happily as you rest your hand on his stomach, rubbing his full tummy softly with your finger tips, “Tell me about that big ol’ bed again,” you whisper, nuzzling into his face and nose with yours.
“Mmm,” he hums, smiling softly, “It’s called a California King. They make ‘em for all those stars out there in Hollywood.” You giggle, and his smile broadens, “I’m gonna get you one of those beds, I promise you.”
“I believe you.”
“You do?”
“I do. Although,”
“Although, what?”
“I don’t want you drivin’ Dottie anywhere anymore.”
He chuckles. The tips of his fingers brush over your naked shoulder and then dance down your arm, “She just wants what she can’t have. She’s jealous a’ you.”
“I know it.”
“Then don’t pay her no mind, girl. I mean it.” A silence drops over the two of you for a few minutes before he says, “I won’t drive her anywhere without tellin’ you. Okay?”
“Promise?”
“Promise. I’m sorry.”
You smile as you rest your head against his, letting your eyes close as sleep starts to pull you in. You feel him grab your fingers, pulling them away from his body as he starts to fumble around, slipping his arms back into his uniform. Once he’s dressed, you fall back into him. He wraps his arm around your neck. You place your hand back on his soft, round stomach. He rolls down the window, allowing the warm breeze to caress your skin. Nights like this are the best. You don’t know how you could be so stupid. You know he loves you.
You’ve always known.
“I’ma get you that little house over there on Pleasant drive, you know it?” he asks, daydreaming again, “We’ll get married -” You scoff, “What?”
“Married?” You ask skeptically, rolling your head on his shoulder as you keep your eyes closed.
“Yes. Married.”
“How are you going to be the law in this town if you’re steady breaking it?”
He chuckles, “You don’t listen to the news?”
“No,” You say softly, squeezing him tighter as you let out a breath, “Too depressin’.”
“Well,” He starts, dropping kisses to the top of your head, “Richard and Mildred Loving are fighting hard for people like you and me.” You open your eyes and blink slowly, watching as the wind plays the branches of the trees across the street as he continues, “They’ll overturn those bullshit laws - just you watch. I’ll marry you the very next day, right here in the middle of town.”
“You think?”
“I think, what?”
“They’ll overturn ‘em?”
“They have to. The world’s too big for that small minded, backwoods bullshit now.”
“And then you’ll buy me that house over there on Pleasant Drive?”
“Mmhmm.”
“And then get me one of those big old beds, what you call it?”
“A California King.”
“Yeah, that.”
“Sure will.”
“And then?”
He takes a breath before he sweeps his nose along yours again, brushing the tips together, “And then we’ll be together until we grow old and grey. I’ll probably be four hundred pounds by then, but.”
He chuckles as you pinch him, making him squirm from the sharp pain, “Stop it.” You warn.
“Look at me now! I’m well on my way.”
“I like you just how you are.” You say simply.
“I suppose you do.”
“I do.”
You barely have to push in to grab his lips as the two of you are already so close. You moan softly when they meet. That arm around your neck tightens, keeping you close - oh so close. You don’t tell him right away, but you like those daydreams of his. The house on Pleasant Drive, the big old bed, the wedding in the middle of town. You dream about them every night and wake up with them every morning. You don’t ever tell him though, because you’re the practical one. He’s the dreamer - and you like it that way.
You still don’t even tell him on the day he makes them all come true. How much you like those dreams of his.

Tumblr media
*Location: Providenciales, Turks and Caicos*
Walking into the lobby of the famous Palms Resorts, Amiyah looked around stunned at the beautiful interior. Greeted by the Turks and Caicos citizens and employees of the hotel she received a fresh alcoholic beverage from a silver tray. The colorful and cooling drink made her mouth water. Taking a sip she closed her eyes as she visited paradise.
“Welcome to The Palms Resort! Where we hope your stay is everything you’ve dreamed of.” The woman on the other side of the desk smiled acknowledging them.
Amiyah, Kelley, and Durk walked to the counter. All three with their complimentary drinks in one hand and pulling on to a weeks worth of luggage in the other. Their flight had landed over an hour ago and it took them a little less than half an hour to get to the place where they would be staying for the week.
“Thanks! I have a few rooms booked under the name of Derrick Lewis.” Durk smiled speaking to the clerk and pulling out his I.D.
She returned one back taking his card and went to her computer to type in his name. It took her less than a minute to see the reservations before handing over their room keys. Durk gave her a slight head nod thanking her and then turned towards Amiyah and Kelley who were standing next to each other with wide grins. It was nothing but pure excitement clouding over their faces.
“Alright listen up. I only got two rules. Don’t go breaking shit in the room and don’t go getting nothing out of the refrigerator or mini bar that they have in there. Not tryna have y’all running up my card.” Durk spoke calmly pointing the room key in their faces.
Kelley kissed her teeth. “Durk she is grown and it’s her birthday tomorrow. If she want to get a drink from our bar that’s in our room then she can.” She went for the key but Durk moved it out of her reach.
Looking her up and down at least two times Durk chuckled before turning towards Amiyah.
“Miyah you wanna tell me why your friend, who ain’t pay for shit, speaking for you? That’s what I’m confused about.” He replied sarcastically.
Amiyah grinned stepping in between them. She politely took the room key from Durk and handed it to Kelley.
“Alright okay. We get it Durk. You paid for everything so we’re gonna respect your rules. Okay? We’re all just here to have a good time.” She smiled rubbing his arm.
“That’s all I want, is some respect. At least someone gets what I’m saying.” He directed his speech towards Kelley who simply rolled her eyes at him before walking away towards the elevators.
Durk shook his head watching her leave and laughed.
Amiyah pushed him lightly by his shoulder.
“Durk can you please not act like an asshole to her on this trip? That’s my best friend and I really want her to have just as much of a good time as me.”
He waved her off. “Ain’t nobody thinking about that girl. She got a problem with me for some reason and I been feeling her energy since we arrived at the airport back at home.” He went back towards the entrance and checked his phone.
Amiyah sighed knowing what he meant. Kelley did have some sort of dislike towards him. Mainly because of the time he put her out knowing that she had no where else to go. Before then Kelley never cared too much or know much about him besides hearing his name ringing throughout the streets and discovering that her new best friend was his younger sister. But the moment Amiyah went to Kelley’s door crying she knew that she wouldn’t find herself getting along with Durk at all.
Following behind him Amiyah stood on his side. Scooting closer she leaned her head on his shoulder and holding on to his left arm. She smiled looking up at him before speaking.
“I really appreciate this Durk. None of it would be possible without you.” She glanced at him looking into his eyes to let her know that he was very much appreciated.
Durk smirked trying to nudge her off but failed
“Get off of me girl. Damn.” He snickered.
“I will once you come with us. We’re tryna see our rooms and you’re waiting out here for what?”
Amiyah wondered why he has still yet to move. There was no need to stand at the entrance unless he was waiting on something or someone.
“I’m going I just have to make sure he gets here first.” Durk answered checking his phone for the third time.
Confused but curious Amiyah asked. “Who’s he?”
“Oh yeah I forgot to mention that Erik was meeting us.” He replied nonchalantly.
Within an instant Amiyah felt the butterflies invade inside her stomach. This was an off guard moment that she didn’t know how to receive or handle. Why wasn’t she aware of him tagging along on her birthday trip? Did he asked to come? Specifically for her? She had so many questions and thoughts running around in the back of her head but she simply pushed them to the side not wanting to make it weird for her to ask them aloud.
She sent a small smile. “Why? Why is he coming?”
Durk shrugged. “He wanted to be here to celebrate your birthday tomorrow. As well as other reasons but yeah.”
Amiyah nodded her head. “How did he get here? I didn’t see him on the plane or at the airport.”
“Since our flight was booked my mans had to drive another state over to another airport just to make it here around the same time. I know for damn sure he came out of pocket trying to get a tick at the last minute.” Durk chuckled.
Amiyah joined him as she was flattered to hear about the effort Erik put in just to be here. She hadn’t seen him since the night he came over to speak with Durk. In the inside Amiyah was hoping that this trip could not only get them back together but to come out and tell her brother about everything. Maybe it was a good thing that he decided to come after all.
Interrupted from her thoughts she heard Durk shout out.
“About fucking time. Welcome to Turks and muthafucking Caicos!” Throwing his arms up he walked towards Erik who was getting out of an all black sprinter with other guests.
Amiyah took in his appearance. He was wearing a short sleeve navy tropical print collar button down shirt that was opened showing a wife beater underneath. With his famous gold chains hanging around his neck. For his bottoms he wore white drawstring shorts and a pair of white forces to finish the look. He sported a black Nike book bag off his shoulder as he went up to Durk greeting him with a dap. When he smiled Amiyah could see the gold on his teeth peeking past his lips.
“Aye a nigga happy to be here.” Erik laughed going in for their brotherly hug. Glancing up he spotted Amiyah standing behind him next to her luggage.
Amiyah flipped her freshly done knottless braids to the side with her drink still in one hand as she held eye contact with him. It was different and intense. It was a look that she hadn’t seen in a while. In fact it was the same way he looked at her the whole night when she went to his place for the first night. Even a blind person could see that the look behind Erik’s eyes was pure desire and need.
When she came to realization Amiyah glanced away ending the staring competition.
“That’s a fact. So where’s shorty at?” Durk pulled away gaining Amiyah’s attention.
“Right here!”
Following a high pitched voice, all hope that Amiyah had in her body completely went out. There was Harmony standing next to him with the prettiest glow she had ever seen. Her hair was gorgeous as she rocked the goddess locs. Her silhouette showing past her floral maxi dress. Nails and lashes done to perfection. Of course she was his guest for the week. It only made sense. They had to be a couple.
Feeling a sting in her chest and burning in the back of her eyes Amiyah wiped away the feeling of defeat and walked over towards her brother.
“Hey Erik. Harmony. Nice to have you guys here.” Amiyah put on her best smile. She didn’t really mean it but for the sake of keeping peace on her trip being cordial was the best option.
“Thanks for letting us join you guys.” Harmony spoke up. She went in for a hug.
Us? So she must be speaking for the both of them now.
Amiyah thought returning the kind gesture.
“It’s no problem. So I’m gonna head to my room and change and probably go to the pool after. I’ll let you two check in.” Smiling she turned on her heels walking to her baggage. When she gave a glance back she saw him staring into her eyes with sorrow. Amiyah shook her head and went towards the elevators.
-
“Girl I have to give it to him...this room is the shit!” Kelley stated opening the door to let her in.
Amiyah viewed the room. First thing she noticed when she walked in was the decked out kitchenette that opened up to the livingroom area. Across from that was a bathroom and bedroom on the other side. The door was opened and bags were already placed on the bed so Amiyah figured it was Kelley’s room. Walking past the livingroom there was another door that was closed. Amiyah opened it. Her mouth dropped as she entered the master bedroom that had a balcony facing the water.
“Yeah I figured you would want this room.” Kelley said as she helped her with her bags.
“I love it, but you know I would have been fine with either one.” Amiyah smiled walking to the glass sliding door. She opened it and stepped out on the balcony. The scent of the ocean hitting her nose.
“Well you’re only getting the finest shit while we’re out here because you deserve it. Happy birthday sis.”
Amiyah turned around to see Kelley holding up four miniature bottles of alcohol. She smiled shaking her head at her friends stubbornness.
“Kelley where did you get those bottles?” She giggled lightly taking the two that was being handed to her.
Cracking open her drinks, Kelley shrugged. “Where else? The mini bar out of the fridge. Now drink up.”
They collided their bottles together taking one after the other. Amiyah made a face towards the bitter drink. She could feel the liquor warming her body up. After the long flight all she wanted to do was wash up and put on a bathing suit to go take a dip in the pool. Going back inside of her room she threw the empty nips away. Grabbing her suitcase and putting it on her bed she unzip it and searched for one of the many swimsuits she packed. Her favorite color caught her eye.
Pulling out the light purple two piece set she also took out a sheer white bottom covering. Amiyah grabbed her toiletry travel bag and went to the bathroom. When she came to she stole a glance inside of Kelley’s room as she saw her getting ready as well.
After an hour of continuous switching in and out of the bathroom the duo was finally ready and leaving out of their room suit. They strolled towards the elevators in silence and only pulling out their phones to record snapchat videos. Kelley hit the button that goes to the lobby while the two waited for the cart to come up to their floor level.
“Hey by the way Erik is here just to let you know.” Amiyah spoke up coming to the remembrance of his presence from earlier.
Kelley’s brows knitted. “The hell. Why is he here?”
“I guess he wanted to be here to celebrate my birthday.” The doors opened allowing them to walk in.
“But that’s not all. He brought his friend, Harmony, here with him. You remember the girl from the Valentines Day bash?” Amiyah stated jogging her memory.
Kelley nodded folding her arms. “Okay now why did she have to tag along? They together or something?”
Amiyah shrugged her shoulders as her reply. She wasn’t a hundred percent sure if they were but from her coming on this trip with him it only had her thinking that they were. Why else would she be here with him? It probably was a baecation for them. Amiyah sighed as she stressed herself with all of her questions.
The doors to the elevators opened as Amiyah and Kelley made their way outside towards the pool area. Already filling up with the other guests it was beginning to get crowded. Finding an empty spot on the lounge chairs Amiyah and Kelley decided to sit a few feet away from the bar.
“I’m about to get a drink. You want something?” Kelley asked standing up pulling on her pink neon swimsuit.
“Yeah get me something that’s fruity but sneaks up on you.” They laughed in unison.
“Okay, I’ll be back.”
Amiyah watched her walk away. There was a line that was already formed so she knew it would be a while before Kelley came back.Taking of her sandals she kicked her feet up to lay back on the chair. Their spot was right by the shade so the sun wasn’t beaming on her so much. Amiyah’s gaze scattered around, watching nothing in particular, but at all of the guests having a good time.
Enjoying the good music along with the warm breeze that blew every few minutes Amiyah relaxed into the chair. Her eyes closed to get the full vacation experience which she found to be peaceful was just as quickly interrupted by a shade blocking her from the sun. Her eyes jolted open to find out what was the cause.
“Sorry to intrude on what seems to look like a blissful moment but I couldn’t help but to come by and introduce myself.” A tall dark and handsome man spoke with a hand out directed towards her.
“I’m Ryan.” He waited for her to shake his hand.
Amiyah gave him a few blanks before introducing herself as well.
“Amiyah.” She replied softly. His hand much larger but soft cradle hers gently before bringing it to his lips to kiss her skin.
Blushing she looked away towards the bar to see Kelley still in the long line. She wasn’t looking at her for help but just to see if she noticed her being approached by the stranger. Amiyah quickly turned her attention back on him.
“Beautiful name miss. You’re from The States right?” He asked with a southern accent that she caught on to.
“Yeah I am. What about you?” She smiled politely.
“I’m from Georgia. Decatur to be exact.” He gave his soft pillowy lips a smooth lick.
Taking a seat on the lounge chair next to her he placed his towel that he was holding down next to him.
“So what brings you to Turks and Caicos?”
“Birthday. It’s actually tomorrow and I’m out here for the week celebrating.” Amiyah’s hands became clammy under his stare.
“Oh Happy Birthday. Mind if I ask how old you’re gonna be?” His voice was soothing and calm but dangerously low just how she liked.
“Uh 22.”
“That’s what’s up. So you like to party Amiyah?” A smirk grew on his face.
Sitting up a tad bit in her chair she looked at him confused.
“Somewhat. Why you ask?” She giggled out of nervousness.
Ryan shrugged. “A pretty girl like you I figured you would. But you can’t possibly be out here alone. You must’ve come with someone right. Like a friend?”
Before she could answer Amiyah heard a deep voice interrupt.
“Yeah she came with me my nigga.”
Looking behind her she saw Erik now in a pair of all black swimming trunks and Nike slides on his feet. He had a bucket hat on to cover his eyes from the sun. He was holding a Corona beer in his free hand as he sipped not taking his eyes off of Ryan. Seeing his abs glistening from what seems to appear as body oil Amiyah clench her thighs as his muscles flexed effortlessly.
Ryan glanced between the two. He looked at Erik before turning his gaze back on Amiyah.
“Damn and you was gonna let me talk to you knowing you had a nigga. That’s fucked up ma.” He shook his head.
“Hold on that’s not my man-“
“Baby just cause we had that little fight back in the room don’t mean we not together. Stop acting like a brat.” Erik cut her off sitting on her chair. One of his hands went to touch her inner thigh catching her off guard.
Ryan grabbed his towel and held his hands up in a surrender position.
“I don’t know what the fuck y’all got going on but that’s between y’all.” He stated and walked away.
Amiyah quickly slapped Erik’s hand away. She watched as he took a sip of his beer before folding over his lap and laughing.
“What? Why you looking at me like that?” He asked through his chuckle.
“Because you lied talking about some fight that we had in a room. Really Erik? Why would you say that?” She folded her arms.
Erik waved her off leaning on his left elbow facing her. “It’s not like you would have like the ugly ass nigga anyway. I was doing you a favor.”
“He was not ugly.”
“Well he damn sure wasn’t your type.”
She rolled her eyes. “Then what’s my type since you think you know me?”
“Nobody else but me. I’m the only nigga you should be fucking with.”
Amiyah couldn’t tell if it was him that was actually talking or the liquor. All she knows is that he was making very bold statements for someone who invited a female friend on a trip with him.
“Erik have you forgotten what you did? Bringing Harmony out here and yet you expect me to not meet or have anybody. You lost your mind?” Amiyah shook her head not believing the audacity that he had.
Erik sighed sitting up. “Amiyah it’s not what it looks like. I only did to throw your brother off. That night I came to y’all crib he was asking questions and getting suspicious. Next thing I know he asked me to come with you guys and I invited her.” He paused touching her hand gently.
“I promise it wasn’t to hurt you.”
The genuineness in his voice sounded sincere but Amiyah still couldn’t help but to be confused on why he would invite her knowing how she felt about Harmony. Her feelings were pretty clear the night of the party.
“Erik I know you’re not trying to intentionally hurt me but seeing her here with you just made me feel a certain way. We’re supposed to be here for my birthday week so excuse me if I’m having a hard time adjusting to this new person that came out of no where.” Standing up Amiyah started to walk away until she felt a hand grab her wrist.
“Miyah don’t hold this against me. I was really hoping we could talk. To straighten things out.” His stare became apologetic.
“I don’t know if-“
“There you are! I’ve been looking everywhere for you.” A light voice shouted catching their attention. They turned to see Harmony walking towards them in her light orange bikini.
Amiyah’s eyes averted to her white painted toe nails. It was going to be a tough week to get through with her being around. But she couldn’t blame Harmony. Erik was the reason for her being here.
Erik smiled and nodded his head. “Yeah I was just out here talking to the birthday girl.”
Harmony sat her belongings down and wrapped her arms around Erik’s torso. Standing on her tippy toes she leaned up to kiss his lips. Erik caught off by the action pulled away and chuckled nervously. When Harmony noticed she made a face before turning towards Amiyah.
“Hey girl! You ready to celebrate your birthday tomorrow?” She smiled trying to start a conversation.
The moment Harmony was invited by Erik to go on this vacation with him she was shocked but thrilled about them taking the next step in their situation-ship. But when she found out the reason behind it she immediately had a bad feeling about going. Harmony wasn’t much of a fan of Amiyah. On the night of the Valentines Day bash she could feel the tension between Erik and Amiyah. It felt as if they had history and were trying to ignore it. She wasn’t suspicious until she seen them leave the V.I.P section one after the other. That’s when she put two and two together.
“I am. Tomorrow is gonna be great actually. I have a few things planned out for us. You know like Jet ski-ing, tubing, snorkeling, stuff like that.” Amiyah spoke through her forced smile. A relief came over her when she saw Kelley walking back with her drinks in her hand.
“Here you go. They said this was highly recommended.” She handed over a slushy drink that was in a cut out pineapple.
Amiyah happily received it and played with her straw before sipping. “Thanks.”
“Well all of that sounds fun and I can’t wait. I’m glad Erik decided to ask me to join you guys.” Harmony stated tugging onto him.
Kelley rolled her eyes and looked her up and down. Her gaze then shot to Erik’s who was wearing a guilty expression all over his face. She shook her head slowly and gave him a look.
“Yeah and I hope you enjoy your time being here.” Amiyah could feel a little bit of both hurt and jealousy coming over her. Putting on a poker face was the best way to hide her feelings.
“Durk told me that we were also doing a big dinner for you out by the water.” Erik finally spoke up.
“We are, you thinking about inviting anyone else?” Kelley asked him with her eyebrows raised.
Erik ignored her as he focused on Amiyah. He read her body language knowing that she was uncomfortable. He was starting to regret on making the decision of bringing Harmony along. He was only doing it to cover face instead of thinking about how she would feel.
Amiyah lightly brushed against Kelley hoping she would catch her drift. It was her way of signaling her to chill out.
“Yes Erik we’re having dinner and you both are welcome to join.”
“We appreciate the invitation girl.” Harmony smiled before turning to Erik. “Hey, let’s go to the beach. Please?” She pouted.
Erik chewed on his lower lip out of habit. “Yeah I was heading there anyway.”
“Perfect. Alright ladies, we’ll see you later.” Taking his hand she pulled him away towards the beach.
Kelley and Amiyah stood in place and watched the two walk away.
“Can’t believe the nerve of that nigga. That’s okay because we are gonna find you a new man for the week. Like the one that came and talked to you earlier.”
Amiyah turn towards her to see a smirk covering her face. “So you did see him?”
“Girl I noticed his fine ass the minute we came out here and I just know Erik probably fucked it up for you the second I seen him.”
Amiyah giggled nodding her head. “He told him he was my man.”
Kelley rolled her eyes. “Typical. But I spotted him on the other side by that grill and bar place. You wanna go see if he’s still there?”
Amiyah smiled knowing that her best friend was willing to do anything to get her back into good spirits. Taking a long sip of her drink she allowed the liquor to linger through her body making her relaxed.
“Let’s go.”
If Erik could have his fun then so would she.

let's have some gentle fun - m

Dedicated to anyone who is left thirsty after Drown; there is a sprinkle of Disappear as well, so beware.
This is written especially for @to-all-the-stories-i-love thank you so much for your support and I really hope you will like this oneshot! I apologize for the wait dear ❤

 🛑 This one shot contains explicit mature content and alcohol consumption. Please do not read if you are uncomfortable with the themes or under 18 (also dont listen to Drown then). Thank you!
You had seen them a couple of times in the club. Their swaying bodies, his wandering hands and her obnoxious roll of hips couldn’t go unnoticed by anyone. Well, anyone who didn’t look particularly close (unlike you had been doing for the past hour).
Despite the loudness of the music, you always thought you could hear people’s conversations in the dark room full of dancing bodies. It was most probably a defect caused by your occupation but you never minded - the frustration of customers when you couldn’t hear their orders over the deafening house music was something you wanted to avoid at all costs and you did. You were thankful until now. Hearing their (imaginary) conversation did you little to no good.
Before you could purse your lips in distaste, someone elbowed you, effectively gaining your attention. “Huh? What?”
Your co-worker and the owner of the club, Jiyong, smirked, shaking his head. The tattoos littering his skin were shining brighter tonight. “Troubles in love land?”
You scrunched up your nose, pretending to be oblivious. Pretending. It was second nature almost. “Dunno what you’re talking about, dragon,” you replied quietly but loudly enough for him to hear you. He was mixing drinks, preparing them on the tray that you were supposed to bring to that cursed table with half of your “friends”. What were friends anyway?
“You need to resolve this unknown issue then,” advised Jiyong, grabbing a whisky. When you noticed where he was pouring it, you gasped, reaching out to hold his arm. He shot you a questioning look. “Huh? What is it?”
“Why are you pouring it into the coffee? Who the hell ordered coffee?” It was a freaking night club.
Jiyong only chuckled and winked your way before proceeding to pour the whiskey into the small cup of espresso. “I’m pretty sure it’s your table.”
Oh.
Looking behind your shoulder, you noticed some of your friends laughing at the VIP section. They didn’t know you arrived at your shift and took over their orders. But now, you were getting a hunch about who ordered the weird combo.
“Here,” Jiyong brought you back to planet Earth. “You need to do something with that stare of yours, really,” he commented before moving on to the next orders. “I’d piss my pants were I to be on the receiving end of it. You’re scowling.”
You gasped and snatched the tray skillfully, throwing him an offended frown which only prompted him to chuckle. You were marching towards the table of your friends.
They all welcomed you with cheering but you knew better than that. It was just a clout; some way to make you feel like you were cool and important before they would quickly forget about your existence. You made sure to ask out loud (while smiling) who wanted which drink until only coffee was left and you had to face the inevitable.
She was sitting on his lap from sideways, which you thanked all the club gods for, because nobody wanted to see her straddling him. Well, you didn’t for sure.
Baekhyun smiled at you kindly, his eyes following your movements the entire time despite having a beautiful chick sitting on his thighs. Gulp. Those thighs.
“Thank you,” he made sure to say, when you stood up to your full length. Shooting him a very pressed, almost painful smile, you nodded once, accidentally meeting his gaze that you thought was not on you any longer.
You were wrong. But were you wrong as well when you always felt electricity curse down your veins whenever you would look at each other? Was the attraction just from your side? Why was he so hard to approach yet so easy to talk to once you actually managed to spike up a conversation?
Right. Your friends always snatched him away. While he was the center of the circle, you were the edge; the misunderstood one yet always invited. Doing chatty-chats with the famous ones in the circle of your friends seemed to be hard because if they didn’t really vibe with you, they’d made sure you could feel it. Baekhyun not once did, yet his apologetic smiles whenever someone wanted to talk to him when he was about to start a conversation with you, hurt more than any of your other friends’ attitude.
Reciprocating his stare a little longer, you finally turned, thinking he would be paying attention to the pretty lady on his lap. Yet again, you were wrong. He was looking even when you were far gone and back to the bar to continue your shift.
-
He was your neighbor, too. How damn lucky. Living on the same floor should have been a blessing; the best news for someone with a crush as crazy as yours, but it was anything but.
Hearing him bring his girlfriend home, hearing them do stuff made you sick in your stomach but you never said a word. If anything, you were glad at least he could have a certain someone with whom he could spend the intimate times with.
You, on the other hand, weren’t so open. Despite working in a club, you rarely ever let another man touch you or agree to their invitations; you did receive many of them on a daily basis but club was a workplace for you and certainly not your kind of fun. Of course, pretty much every one of your friends had the misconception that you were wild and had banged half of the town given your curves, the way you dressed those curves and sending convincing, confident smiles. You were pretty sure Baekhyun believed in them, too, and it made you sad for some reason. If there was one person you didn’t want to think you were promiscuous or too open-minded, it was him.
Currently, it was eight in the morning when you were just typing in the code to your apartment. A small headache and swollen ankles made you want to pass out on bed, too tired after work. Just when you were about to close the door behind you, someone called out your name before you heard rushed steps.
Quickly opening the door and recognizing the voice, you felt your heart skip a beat when you noticed Baekhyun on your doorstep.
“Hey,” he smiled, somewhat sheepishly. He was in his work attire - very, very handsome suit. He wasn’t wearing a jacket over the dress shirt which made you momentarily distracted when you stared at the way the textile stretched over the broadness of his shoulders. The necktie seemed so thin compared to the vastness of his shoulders.
Bringing your eyes back to meet his, you caught a smirk and you quickly cleared your throat. “Hey. What’s up? You’re up early.” Oh god, you knew he was heading to the company, why would you say such nonsense?
He let out a breathy laugh. “Yeah, just in time to catch you,” he winked and your heartbeat became erratic. “Could you please lend me baking soda?” Your eyes widened in surprise and he added: “I mean- if you have. I forgot that I don’t have one but I already started on the cake.”
It took you exactly three seconds to overcome your surprise and nodded hastily, opening the door wider for him to come in. “Sure, sure. Don’t stand outside, what will people think, huh,” you added sarcastically which earned you a snort in return. You took off your trainers and rushed to the kitchen, meanwhile thinking where the hell you had baking soda. It’d been a while you used your kitchen for its actual purpose.
“Nice flat,” Baekhyun commented, looking around with curiosity.
You smiled to yourself while you opened a cabinet. He was living in the middle unit of the corridor and those were the priciest of apartments in the building. The side ones were for poorer people, like you. The fact that he still had the need to compliment your small but cozy apartment made you feel warm.
“I like how you wisely use up the space,” he continued, eyeing the small, dark green couch that had a cream-colored carpet in front of it. You liked to bury your feet into the fur while watching tv. “You have an eye for design.” He stood now next to you and it made you momentarily freeze.
“Thanks,” you mumbled, not looking his way. “I prefer to think twice about what I’m spending my money on.”
Baekhyun smiled, endearment visible but not to you. When it came to him, you didn’t want to admit to anything you saw, for it could be just a product of your desires.
“I like that,” he said in a lower tone and this time you made sure to keep searching despite electric shocks spiking through your heart. “There is so much more to you than it meets the eye.” He looked around your kitchen, pushing his hands in the pockets of his dress pants. “I feel like you’re so much more interesting than you ever let on.”
Baking soda. Finally. Grabbing the package you handed it to him with a triumph. “You could hardly know when you’re so busy with your own, uh, stuff.” When Baekhyun didn’t accept the package, you pushed it into his chest. “Not like half of you all care, anyway.”
Baekhyun messily grabbed the package, almost dropping it as he tried to save the situation. “No, that isn’t the truth. Of course we care-“
You giggled. “You’re so cute. Of course I don’t mean it!” you exclaimed, faking a genuine smile. “I have a man hiding in the closet so...“ you said, wanting him to be out of your apartment already. Bad decision.
“You have a what?” he frowned, confused.
Licking your lips, you raised an eyebrow. “You heard me. Go before your precious lady needs to wait for you any longer. Not that I’m throwing you out of the house-“
“You have a man here?”
Both of you were quiet now. He was staring into your eyes, something so hard for you to decipher flashing in those deep orbs. His eyes seemed almost black, swallowing up every light that dared to enter including you.
“It’s what you all think about me, isn’t it?” you mumbled quietly. “That I bring men home, that I’m the quiet before the storm. I know that’s what you all say behind my back. I’m just living up to your knowledge.”
Baekhyun’s face became unreadable. His features evened out. “Way to ruin the mood.”
You laughed. “Whatever mood you’re talking about-“
He stepped closer, silencing you right away. “I know people are judgemental fucks but I would have always said otherwise about you.”
“Meaning?”
He gave you a lopsided smirk, not reaching his eyes. “I can hardly judge you when I know so little about you. I never believe those rumors and you shouldn’t give a damn either. If anything, you’re the most intriguing among our friends.”
He couldn’t tell, but breath hitched in your throat from the way his eyes were drinking you up, their intensity burning every sane thought you could produce. “Then why do you always yield to those friends? We had many chances to talk. But it wasn’t me who always turned around at the last moment.”
The tension was almost palpable when you were looking up at him.
He didn’t reply and you realized the headache you were gifted with today. Sighing tiredly, you smiled up. “Whatever. Don’t answer that. Go. I bet your girlfriend is waiting.” When he didn’t move, you snorted a laugh. “Why are you even baking at this hour? You’ll be late to work.”
Only after that he let out a sigh and made a few steps backwards, watching you. “My girlfriend is my secretary. Thought I’d surprise her with a cake.”
And the mood was dampened yet again. Pressing your lips together, you nodded, crinkling up your eyes to show him you were smiling instead of dying. “What a wonderful employer you are. Bet she’ll be loving it.”
“What’s your favorite cake?” he asked curiously as he backed all the way to the door where he stopped, making you groan inwardly again. He pursed his lips, staring you down and causing goosebumps on the back of your spine. “I’d say you're a raspberry cake person.”
“Raspberry?” you scoffed but laughed nonetheless
He hummed, his eyes becoming droopy as he observed you without a word.
Swallowing, you breathed. “Care to explain yourself?”
Slowly, the side of his lip stretched up in the most flirty way you’ve ever seen on him and you swore you felt something move inside you. “Maybe one day.”
He turned around and raised his hand with the baking soda packaging, shaking it. “Thanks for this!”
You watched him enter his unit but not before he looked back at you. Waving one last time, he disappeared inside, leaving you with a wildly beating heart and a very bothered mind.
-
He broke up with her. You knew for a while when there was barely any movement in his apartment (not that you eavesdropped!) and then the small gossips began in your friends’ circle.
This was just another gathering, another evening full of fake smiles and small talks because you couldn’t win yourself more than that; an actual deep conversation. Baekhyun was absent but someone said he was on his way which, to your dismay, made your heart beat wildly in your chest. Quickly gulping down the whiskey, you made a face but didn’t follow it up with a soft drink.
“It was a bad break up,” you heard from the girls chatting nearby. “But it was him who let her go. She cheated on him with the CFO.”
Your heart involuntarily dropped at the information. Who, in their right mind, cheated on such a gorgeous man like Byun Baekhyun?
“She wanted him back but Baek was adamant. I guess he is truly a man of his words. I wonder who will be the lucky one next? Just imagine fucking hi-“
Thankfully your phone vibrated just in time. Quickly fishing out your phone, you saw a couple of text messages from Jiyong.
sorry to bother you sweets i’m short on staff tonight pls save me by coming in? u won’t have to work during holidays promise
Weirdly enough, you couldn’t have been more happy to get out of the suffocating atmosphere. At least you had the needed push of whiskey and with a fairly good mood could stand up and bid farewell to everyone, though they didn't care much.
Just as you were about to leave the restaurant, Baekhyun entered. With a single glance, he pinned you to your place because as the wind blew from the outside and his coat fluttered around, while his hair was messily falling into his dark orbs, you forgot how to breathe.
“Yo, Baekhyun’s here! Finally, man!”
The shouts were coming from your table while none of them even bothered to call out to you.
Smiling softly, you mumbled a hi before reaching for the door he was still holding open before you felt his arm grab yours swiftly, turning you to look at him. He seemed out of breath.
“Where are you going? I just arrived.”
“I’ve got a last minute plan. They need me at the club tonight,” you replied, pressing another smile while trying hard to control your frantic heart. You became all too aware of his touch on your arm but he wasn’t about to let go for whatever reason. “They’re waiting for you, Baek,” you added quietly when the shoutings weren’t subsiding.
Baekhyun didn’t spare a single glance at his friends when he took your hand and led you out of the restaurant. “Let me drive you. It’s already late.”
“No, it’s fine, really-“
“I insist,” he chuckled, swiftly pushing aside your protests. “It wouldn’t have been fun without you there anyway.”
You wanted to stop and stare at him but you decided against it. He was affecting you too much and you could already feel your trembly hands because he was still holding you.
“They just talked shit behind my back, didn’t they,” he asked, sounding more like a statement, and with one last squeeze let your hand go. He pushed his hand into the pocket of his coat and you couldn’t help but swoon at how handsome he was despite being after a break up and a possible heart ache.
You decided to keep quiet in means to communicate the answer. Baekhyun was smart so when he snickered, you knew he got the message.
His black Audi was parked just by the curb, looking like the horse of the dark knight, easily becoming one with the night. Baekhyun opened the passenger’s door for you, but you almost instantly froze when he stood a tad too close to your body, your face right next to his neck as he covered your entire being with his. He gave a pointed look to your short skirt and you understood, while growing a little warm at his thoughtfulness.
Those couple of seconds while he rushed around the car to sit next to you were a little delirious. The way your hand was still burning up from his touch, feeling like you’d been caressed by love itself. The quietness of his expensive car, the smell of the leather mixed with a small hint of forest, the way it felt so comfortable to sit in it with the seat set low and making your legs so high. The way all the sounds were blocked out and nobody could see inside given the tinted windows. All your senses were high on alert and when you heard the opening of his door and him swiftly sitting down and adjusting himself behind the wheel, you felt your throat go dry just a little bit.
You didn’t realize your mouth was slightly open, lips gently parted before the man himself turned to you with a cheeky smile.
To save yourself you quickly blurted: “What a lovely car you have here, Baekhyun!”
Baekhyun let out an amused laugh as he buckled himself with one hand, while his other one fumbled with the radio. He shot you a look. “Thanks. I’m quite proud to have it, not gonna lie.
“It suits you,” you added, and let out a little oh when he pressed the button and the car came to life. “I always thought you’d be a black car kinda guy.”
He shot you a curious look before looking back at the traffic as he tried to make a turn to the main road. “What does that mean, missy?”
You giggled at the nickname and you heard him heave out a low chuckle too. “Just a thought. Nothing much.”
He hummed, entertained, when a comfortable silence enveloped the inside of the car. “I will take that as a compliment.”
“Yeah,” you breathed, trying to focus very hard on the world outside instead of his leisure stance on the driver's seat; left hand preoccupied by the wheel while the other casually rested between the two of you. “You should.”
You said it so quietly you genuinely didn’t think he would hear it. Leaving you in the utter obliviousness, Baekhyun heard your voice loud and clear but didn’t acknowledge it. To the ever-so soft spoken you, he always was ready to listen, ready to get to know you. Just like you had trouble keeping your stares to yourself, he wasn’t anything different; that darned short skirt hiking a tad too high on your thighs for him to keep his cool. Your legs seemed endless in the passenger seat of his car and he never wanted to pull over this much in his life.
Heaving out a sigh, he said: “Mind if I join for a bit? I think I need a drink,” he told you once he stopped at the curb, the streets yet to be filled up with party people.
Shooting him a look while you unbuckled your seatbelt, you nodded: “Sure. Will that be okay, though?” You nudged your chin towards him. “You’re driving.”
Baekhyun smiled and automatically reached out, tapping your knee gently. “Don’t worry, I have my ways.”
You sprung out of the car, breathing heavily because god damn, did he just touch you? You. Wanted. More.
It didn’t take you long to prepare for the shift, Jiyong basically squeezing the life out of you for saving him at the last minute. “But shit, who is that dude with you?” he asked quietly in awe when you were standing at the other side of the bar, sneakily watching Baekhyun sip his drink. He was standing out, still being in his work attire - a gorgeous striped suit, with his long Burberry coat and almost white hair lusciously licked back, having only a few strands obscure his handsome forehead. He didn’t look like he came clubbing for sure. But he certainly looked like a good time after clubbing.
You tried to keep your saliva back. “He is just a friend.” You cringed at the sentence. “He broke up with his girlfriend recently, so he might get shitfaced soon.”
That was what you genuinely believed in. Why else would he come with you if not to drink away his hurt emotions?
Jiyong threw you a quizzical look. “You know, you can be super oblivious sometimes.”
“What are you talking about?”
He smirked. “That man kept eyeing you up and down ever since you entered my club. I was worried he’d start drooling all over the floor.”
You rolled your eyes. “As I said,” you pressed skeptically, “he broke up with his hot assistant. There is no way someone like him would want someone like me.“
Jiyong nudged you, not giving two damns about your worries. “Make him forget her then.”
“What?”
“C’mon, sweets,” purred Jiyong confidently, always the one up for a game, “ease up a bit, have a glass or two and make him forget. He definitely wants to forget.”
You stared at him, wondering, imagining and then ending up finding the idea ridiculous. Baekhyun would never give in to your advances even though they would be completely honest, be it intoxicated or not. The idea of kissing him sent shocks down your body.
“Whatever. Let’s see what the night brings,” you murmured when you accidentally caught Baekhyun’s eye. The warm, wide smile he gave you in that instant could heal all the illnesses. Could you cure him, though?
-
“Baek, just head home,” you told him two hours later. He was patiently waiting for something that you didn’t know about, his drink long forgotten. He wasn’t even tipsy when he looked at you with wide, bright eyes.
“I’ll wait for you,” he told you gently.
You looked confused. “Listen, there is no need. I still have work to do and-“
He ran his hand over your forearm, bringing goosebump up. “I really don’t mind though. I want to take you home.”
The way he was looking at you… it was all so surprising and telling a story by itself. He bit his lip when you didn’t reply and you still refused to believe that spark of want in his eyes. “Hm? Unless I’m bothering you, in that case…” he retreated his hand quickly and you were fast to shake your head and grab it back. You rested your hands on his thigh, wanting to irk him. Baekhyun instantly smiled. “I take it I’m not bothering you?” he teased.
You sighed. “If this is because of your ex…” you trailed off and at the mention of his secretary, Baekhyun puckered his lips in distaste.
“It isn’t about her. The spark was gone a long time ago.” He observed you and seemed like he wanted to add more but he decided against it.
You nodded and squeezed his soft hand.
“Okay,” you mouthed and turned to the bar while sliding your hand off his thigh, catching Jiyong smiling down at the cocktails he was mixing up.
Out of nowhere, you felt a hot breath on the shell of your ear with a hand on your waist, momentarily shocking you. “This isn’t a joke but you look fucking hot while working, you know.” Baekhyun’s soft lips tickled you and you wanted to shake off the feather-like feeling.
You turned your head and saw his expectant eyes, a small smirk stretching his lips that he just sexily licked.
Did. He. Just. Say. That.
“I mean it,” he said louder over the music. He made a point when his eyes travelled lower, the way your shirt hugged your chest and then you skirt doing little to no job of hiding your beautiful curves that Baekhyun seemed to feast his eyes on. He didn't like that you had to dress like this for work, but right now he was confident he was allowed to stare.
You grew hot within a second. Hot and very, very bothered. You leaned in to him and his attention was back to your face. “Baekhyun,” you murmured, “if you were words on the page, you’d be a fine print.”
Within one second, Baekhyun was laughing loudly, quickly covering his mouth when he couldn’t contain his giggles. You leaned back when you heard the tray with the cocktails being put on the bar, ready to be served. “I mean it,” you winked and turned away, taking the tray and going back to work, feeling his eyes following your every move. You noticed the way the tray was shaking because- did you just use a silly pick-up like with him? Either way, you felt incredibly proud for making him laugh like that. As if the sun suddenly made its appearance in the underground club.
The remaining time you spent incredibly conscious of Baekhyun’s following gaze. You caught him chatting a lot with Jiyong which kind of made you happy because Jiyong, despite looking the opposite of Baekhyun, was one of your good friends that never left you hanging.
Soon, you went over to the side of the bar and Jiyong pushed a shot of vodka into your hand. “Go home early. Don’t let him wait any longer,” he told you, and watched you gulp down the burning liquid. “Both of you are making the pressure go up in my club and I don’t want any explosions here. He is basically eye-fucking you.””
You frowned in amusement and handed him back the empty glass, electric waves cursing down to your core at his last sentence. The liquid support was very much needed because Baekhyun was screaming sex even when he looked like the most polished gentleman in the house.
“Baek,” you walked quickly over to him when you changed back to your previous outfit. He turned on his seat, facing you with full interest. “Take me home then.”
The way you said the words; he got the secondary meaning. He licked his lips, looking for a moment at your own pair before taking your hand in his and bidding a quick farewell to the smirking Jiyong.
You were out within a minute. It was only past 2am but you never felt this free and ready to call it a night with him by your side. You expected a heavy make-out session right outside in the fresh air. But when he simply walked the both of you to the car and opened the door for you, you felt a tinge of disappointment.
It was during the quiet, tense car ride that you realized you must have read too much into the situation. God, you so badly wanted to take up on Jiyong’s idea; make Baekhyun completely forget he ever was with that secretary of his, but would he want to?
“Thanks a lot for the ride,” you murmured when you arrived at your floor. He would go to his own apartment and you’d go to yours. Easy. Painless. Maybe once you’d close the doors, you’d feel like complete shit, but you still kept your kind stance up.
Baekhyun ran a hand through his hair. “Gladly,” he breathed when the both of you stopped walking from the elevator.
You looked up and noticed his droopy gaze on you. “Thank you for waiting for me,” you added to lengthen the time you had with him.
He shook his head, staring at you. “Don’t mention it,” he murmured, somehow distracted.
In that moment, you braced yourself. Now, or never. One last try.
Stepping closer to him, you murmured. “I can make you forget about everything, you know.” You took his hand, playing with his long fingers. They would surely make you feel good.
“If I let you,” he said without hesitation, “I can’t guarantee I will behave,” he growled your name and you might have grown wet.
“You want to bet who will be naughtier?” you quirked an eyebrow in a challenge.
“Fuck,” Baekhyun let out and he grabbed your face, slamming his lips onto yours. You were taken aback for a mere moment before taking his face in your hands, feeling how smooth his skin on his cheeks was. Baekhyun was anything but soft though. He was biting and cheeky and daring when he forced his tongue into your mouth, making you moan. He made out with you dirtily in the corridor until he pressed you against the wall next to the door to your apartment, his knee pressing up your womanhood while he sucked on your neck as you melted in his embrace.
It took almost five minutes until you were finally inside the apartment.
It was another couple of minutes until he fell on the top of your bed with a huff, his eyes wide when you started to take off your clothes slowly. Your erratic heartbeat was making you giddy, or maybe it was the excitement from having his usually soft, kind eyes, now wildly set on your curves that he seemed to like so much.
“Now, baby boy,” you purred, stepping closer when you were just in your underwear. He followed your every move, and almost flinched when you touched his cheek. “If you dare to moan, you ain’t getting any tonight. How’s that?” you asked him, trying to grasp on every sober emotion that was still left in you, but it was difficult. You were so intoxicated by his still too-well put together look. You wanted to devour him.
Baekhyun slowly raised an eyebrow and it made you feel things. He hummed, observing you for a moment before wordlessly reaching for your hip, his hand landing exactly on the panty line. “As long as I get to touch.”
“You won’t get to do that either, if you as much as squeak. Do you hear me, Mr Byun?”
“Jesus- fuck, that’s to hot,” he groaned. “Let me add a little more fun to your game. If you moan,” he licked his lips and made a point to look at your chest, ”I will destroy you.”
Not realizing how harshly you were breathing by then, you nodded, the urge to get rid of your soaked panties big as you went to straddle him. Just as you were about to move though, you stopped. “Strip for me, Baekhyun.”
Baekhyun looked surprised for a moment before smirking. “You sure, pretty?”
“Solid.”
Baekhyun took an eternity and you knew he was playing with you, teasing you. With every button he undid and with it showed more skin, you grew relentless. He stood close to you and when he was reaching the last button, he leaned in to you, kissing your neck sweetly, almost like a secret promise, that was followed with a sensual lick. You quickly grabbed the shirt and slid it off his wide shoulders. “Now the jeans. And the underwear has to go, too,” you said resolutely and he laughed gently.
“You are like a tigress. Don’t get surprised if I stand tall and proud for you, baby,” he winked at you and you wondered just for a moment about what he meant when he did just what you asked, his member springing free and looking very excited.
Daring to take a step back, you looked and swallowed. You made sure to let him know that you looked. His body was sculpted, wide chest and shoulders, prominent pectorals with even more prominent serratus muscles that made his chest even wider and very much ripped. His lean waist and stomach with fading six pack made you salivate until you took in his member. You sucked your lips in and pushed Baekhyun back on the bed, his smirk growing in anticipation.
“Won’t you undress for me?”
“You don’t deserve it just yet,” you replied absentmindedly and when he rested his back against the headboard, you dived. Without any warning, you grabbed the meaty thighs and lowered your head, tasting him. Baekhyun flinched and he let out a grunt as his hips almost automatically bucked up.
As you licked your way up to the tip, you muttered: “Don’t you dare moan. And keep these naughty hips in check for me.”
Excitement was cursing through your veins and you prayed your shakiness wouldn’t show too much. You licked up and down a few times before taking the tip in your mouth and slowly bobbed your head, feeling how he was now fully erected. Making sure you were letting out appreciative hums, you looked up and Baekhyun was gnawing on his bottom lip, his hand inching closer to your hair. “C’mon, grab me. I like it rough,” you told him and he didn’t waste a second with grabbing your hair and pulling on it. You hissed and dived deeper, feeling the prominent vein on the flat of your tongue, his tip gently scratching the back of your throat. It didn’t do you no harm though, and with every movement of your head, you went lower and lower until your eyes were teary. Coming back up, you swirled your tongue around the tip while your hand pumped him sensually, making sure he would be at the end of his wits.
Baekhyun was grunting but he didn’t dare to make more of an explicit sound, given his other hand was clasped over his mouth, his eyes now closed in pleasure. He looked divine and way too comfortable.
Deciding to make it a little harder for him, you grabbed his balls and massaged them gently, knowing it was the ultimate way to make him lose. But you were surprised when Baekhyun pushed you away out of nowhere, and he was now on top of you, his face flushed red, and his eyes so wild and dark he could eat you up.
“How can this game be fair if I don’t get to play my part?” he muttered in a deep, throaty tone which made your womanhood twitch.
“Wha-“
You gasped when you felt his fingers at your lower lips as he quickly pushed the crotch of your panties aside, the index and fourth finger spreading them apart and letting the dominant middle finger press on the sensitive bud, your mouth opening in a silent moan. Baekhyun was looking carefully, your every move, your every breath detected by his attentive eyes and ears.
“Let’s see how long you’ll last, baby,” he murmured and his hands slid up your thigh, massaging them, the one that fingered you spreading your wetness over your skin. With every touch of his, he raised goosebumps and you found yourself on your elbows. He smirked at you and slowly spread your legs wider before he winked and leaned in. He kissed you on your lower lips, your head instantly falling backwards, and he sucked gently, making out with your womanhood.
You sighed louder and he quickly looked up, letting you know he heard you well. You giggled and pressed your lips together to prevent any unwanted sound leaving your mouth.
“Keep these wide open for me, alright?” He purred, using the voice you used with him before, and then his tongue came into the game; you just knew you would lose. You weren’t bad at giving blow-jobs (or so you thought) but Byun Baekhyun was eating you out like a madman. His tongue licked you up and down before he teased your entrance with it, collecting all your wetness. He hummed and groaned while his nose was pushed in the pubic bone as his tongue swirled and aroused you even more, licking every corner he could reach.
Your elbows became weak and you fell on your back, one of your hands grabbing the bed sheets in a strong grip while the other went to the back of Baekhyun’s perfectly brushed hair. He moaned again when he felt you pull on it, and you found yourself pushing his face more into you. His tongue complied and dove into your hole, poking inside as he lapped up all the juices around.
An earth shattering, deep moan left your throat, your weak mind forgetting about any silly game you came up with in order to make him focus just on you. Maybe you secretly wanted it to happen because you were dying to know how it felt like to let him have his way with you.
“That’s right, moan for me sweetheart,” came in his thundering, low growl and your airy moans filled the room. Your hips buckled up but he was fast to press them back into the mattress, tongue still relentless.
“I’m so close, don’t stop,” you panted with your eyes scrunched close, eager to get the release.
Baekhyun stopped. Pushing himself away, he looked at you in triumph while you snapped your eyes open, whining: “What are you doing?”
“Look who is an eager little tiger,” he teased, climbing over you. “As if I would let you come after teasing me like that before,” he murmured when his face was just in front of yours, his breath fanning yours lips. “I want to feel you.” He paused and leaned in, gently nipping at yours lips, the slightest taste of your own essence present on his mouth. “Let me feel you, baby girl.”
You were shocked at his sudden change from rough eating-out to a gentle kiss on your lips. You felt him poking you at your entrance and you found your hands wandering over his shoulders, feeling up those muscles, enjoying the way he was so wide and covering your entire body under him, making you feel safe. You slid them over his back and you had to spread your legs wider and shimmy under him, reaching his cute butt and squeezing, causing Baekhyun to groan gently against you. It sent another electric wave through your core and you just needed him to be in you.
“Undress me,” you mumbled, still fondling with his backside. You met Baekhyun’s eyes and he expressionlessly leaned back, letting his hips glide against your own while his hand looked for the bra clasp on your back.
You started to giggle and he stopped. “You can undo it right here,” you told him softly, your eyes looking between your breasts where the actual clasp was.
Baekhyun gave you a shy laugh, his cheeks gorgeously puffing up as his hands brushed against your breasts before unclasping the bra and pushing it to the side to reveal your mounds. He observed for a moment and then started trailing kisses around them, biting gently on the tender skin and effectively bringing out a hiss from you.
His free hand reached for your panties and you pushed your hips up to help him slide them off. You watched the underwear fly across the room and you laughed, sighing in content when he circled his tongue around your nipple.
Moving under him, you pressed yourself against his erect member, goosebumps raising on your skin at the feel of him. He wasn’t huge; he seemed the perfect size that would promise you something unforgettable.
“So, so fucking eager, you little devil,” he murmured against your breast but he gave himself away when he also pushed against you, his tip teasing you now at your center. He groaned gently and brought his face back to yours.
You closed your eyes in the meantime. Even the slightest movement from him was giving you a high.
“Look at me. Are you ready?” his voice was so low and raspy you shuddered.
You opened your eyes and you saw sex screaming all over him. “I’m so ready.”
He smirked and mouthed at your neck. “Let me ride you, then,” he muttered and pushed in.
Both of you moaned in unison. Since he stretched you before and denied you an orgasm, you were dripping and sensitive for him, giving him easy access to you.
“You feel like paradise,” you breathed an airy moan.
He was fast to look at you, the tip of his nose brushing up against yours as he gave you time to adjust to him. “Tell me what you like, sweetheart.”
“I like you,” you blurted under the spell of an intense ecstasy your body was going through. You froze right as you said it, scolding yourself for thinking the moment, but Baekhyun leaned in with an acknowledging hum and let his lips hover over yours as he started to rocked you gently, in and out, going up and down above you.
“I like you, too,” he admitted, the regular harsh puffs of his breath hitting your hungry lips. “You’re literally the sexiest woman I have ever laid eyes on.”
You were shocked and flying on cloud nine. His thrusts were making you feel like a goddess, the way he was looking at you made you feel loved. You chased his lips, kissing him sweetly while he fumbled with your hand and intertwined his hands with yours which made your tummy flutter with excitement. In and out was he rocking, your walls hugging him so well you felt like the missing puzzle piece to him.
You separated quickly for the lack of air and the pressure building up in your lower abdomen made you ever so breathless and moany. It was almost embarrassing how you weren’t about to last any longer; he was so intoxicating you felt like you would be recovering from the orgasm for a while.
“Are you close?” he asked as he gave you a sharper thrust, causing you to scream. He watched with eager eyes. “Oh, that’s right. Scream louder than that, baby girl. You can do better than that for me, hmm?” he gritted his teeth and thrusted into you again, your bed creaking in despair just like you were.
“Baekhyun!!” you met his hips half-way, the both of you rolling in perfect unison like the tumbling waves kissing the shore. Up and down, in and out he went. Just when you thought you couldn’t hold it in any longer, he pinched your clit with his other hand, harshly massaging you between your lips. “C’mon, don’t hold back.”
“Come with me,” you pleaded, trying to hold it in. You moaned, arching your back so that your breasts were pressed up against his chest and he groaned at the feel of your convulsing walls. He fastened the pace, wildly slamming into you now, not caring about the gentle sex he had in mind from the start.
“Let go,” he ordered sternly, and rid you further up the wrinkled bed sheets. “Hold on to me and let go,” he whispered into your open mouth, short on breath.
You did. Your high-pitch scream pierced through the sex-filled room, blocking all the inappropriate rufflings and moans out. You hugged him to you, shaking as you kept sighing.
Baekhyun let out a throaty grunt and you felt him twitch in you. He was fast to pull out, quickly helping himself out before releasing his seed all over your glowing skin. He breathed loudly, watching as his release hit your chest and stomach, looking absolutely stunning on you.
The way your chest was heaving up and down while feeling him dripping down made you feel ecstatic. Baekhyun met your eyes and gave you a tired smile before he fell on the bed next to you.
Both of you were panting loudly, glistening with sweat. You swore your legs were used up, unable to provide you service for a while. Baekhyun took your hand again and rolled on his side, resting himself on his elbow. You looked at him and took notice of the gentleness of his orbs, the way he looked so fucking hot but not a sprinkle of lust was in his eyes anymore; affection more like it.
Without a word, he leaned in and pecked your softly on your lips. “Let me clean you up,” he murmured and didn’t wait for your reply when he left your room.
You knew he would find your bathroom and soon enough he was back with a warm, wet towel. He cleaned you up with utmost gentleness; your breasts, your stomach and your womanhood, neither of it in a sexual way. Then he threw the towel on the floor and joined you in the bed.
“You didn’t have to,” you murmured sheepishly when you saw him making himself comfortable.
He smiled. “But I wanted to.” He covered your bodies in your comforter and you were fast to turn and bring yourself to him, eager to know how it felt like to rest your head on his chest.
He took you in with a small kiss on your temple and his arm rested on your hip. “Thank you. That was amazing.”
You sighed. “Did you mean it though?” you dared to ask, knowing full well you might end up ruining the moment. Baekhyun was a man of his words, and you never saw him as a type to back off when he already uttered something. But you saw how he was unsure the whole car ride back to your apartment.
“I did,” he sighed. “I really do like you, you know.”
“But how… so suddenly?” you asked, your hand drawing spirals on his pectoral. It was so firm.
He squeezed your hip. “I’ve liked you for a long time actually. You are literally the hottest girl in our group of friends and the fact that you’re so oblivious is just mind-blowing.”
Shocked, you pushed yourself up to look at him while his hand slid over your backside. You shivered when the comforter lifted, exposing your chest straight in front of his eyes, yet he didn’t look. “What? But - how? I just… you were with her and then…”
“I told you,” he said quietly as he caressed your butt cheek. “The spark was long gone. I just always tried to do my duties as a boyfriend until I was fully convinced she was fucking another one.”
You opened your mouth to respond but he beat you to it, amusement glistening in his eyes. “You are incredibly attractive and I might sound like a total creep but shit, your body is an eye magnet. I couldn’t stop thinking about touching you and feeling you.”
“Baekhyun,” you sighed, already affected by his words.
He hummed and his eyes dropped on your lips. “Just kiss me and let’s talk in the morning, hm?” he suggested as his eyes traveled to your mounds. “I feel like drowning in you until morning, pretty.”
And you were aroused right away. You leaned in, already hungry while you straddled him under the comforter. “Just so you know,” you whispered, closing your eyes when you felt his member at your heat. “She lost herself a gem.”
Baekhyun’s lips slowly stretched into a gracious smile while his hands navigated your hips above him, ready to let you ride him. “I guess we have to lose something in order to gain something much better in life.”
You smiled as well and kissed him.
-
You woke up sore. It was still a little early and Baekhyun was asleep next to you, his gentle snores making you laugh into your palm quietly. After five minutes of closely inspecting his face and realizing he had a whole constellation of moles, you decided to quickly jump in the shower so you could be fresh for him once he woke up.
You took his white shirt and slid into it, feeling tiny in the huge size that easily came to the middle of your thighs. It made you feel incredibly sexy.
As you tiptoed to the bathroom, you heard loud noises and shouts coming from the corridor outside your flat. You shuffled over, checking the ruckus through the small hole on your door. A little taken aback, you saw a beautiful, tall woman slamming her fist on Baekhyun's door. Her hair was in a perfect bun, not a hair sticking out.
“Baekhyun! Open up, I know you're home! Please, let's talk!”
You really didn't want to -- but you smiled in triumph. Oh darling, your ex is in my bed, sleeping tight after a mind-blowing night full of sex. Snickering to yourself, you quickly went to the bathroom.
Coming out after fifteen minutes, you roamed in the kitchen for a bit, preparing the water for the morning coffee you very much needed. While it was warming up, you went to check your bedroom to see if Baekhyun was anywhere near to getting out of the bed.
Stopping in the doorway, you saw an empty bed. Sheets messy, your underwear still on the floor, nothing seemed out of the place. Only his clothes were gone besides the white shirt that you obviously still had. Despite searching your small apartment, he wasn't anywhere. He wouldn't explain to you what that raspberry cake meant. He wouldn't explain to you what he promised last night - the way he grew to like you.
Baekhyun was gone.
He disappeared.

The third time was honestly quite fun for Dean. It started with a rare night of relaxation. The three of you were hanging out around a table in the bunker library, steadily working your way through a six-pack Sam had brought back from a supply run earlier. Dean had his legs crossed and feet propped up casually before him, while you and Sam were scrolling leisurely through the internet on your respective laptops.
“I think I just found us a case,” Sam had started with furrowed brows, as he sat up to get a closer look at his screen. “So get this, two married couples in Wisconsin were found dead after visiting the same couples therapist.”
“Does it say how?” you asked, fidgeting with the label on your beer bottle.
“Yeah, they all fell from windows in upper stories.”
Your brows flew up and you huffed in disbelief, “You’re right, seems like a rather unlikely coincidence, probably something up our alley.”
At this point, Dean was ready to burst with glee. God himself could not have presented a better opportunity. If things worked out, he could finally put an end to Sam’s petulant spasms and eradicate the sexual tension that hung so potently (and disturbingly) throughout the air whenever you and Sam were in the same room.
“Well, I guess we know what we gotta do…” Dean tried to fight the grin on his lips as he turned to you, “Hey, Y/N?”
“Yeah?”
With a perfectly straight face, he managed to ask, “Will you marry me?”
The mouthful of beer that Sam was about to swallow erupted forth in a cascade of tiny droplets, spritzing through the air as he began to cough and choke on what little alcohol had somehow made it down the wrong pipe.
You immediately looked over to see if he was alright, not expecting to find the usually adroit and graceful man a sputtering, red-faced mess, “Geez, Sam. Are you okay?” Rising from your seat to move towards him, you stopped when he held out a large palm and waved it at you as a form of both reassurance and interception.
“Yea- yeah, I’m fine,” Sam wiped at his mouth with the back of his hand, taking a moment to recompose himself before sending you an awkward little smile of gratitude.
Dean cleared his throat, “So whaddya say, Y/N/N?”
“Huh?”
“About my proposal, before Sammy so rudely interrupted.” Sam was glaring holes through his brother now, but Dean paid him no attention.
“Oh, right,” you chose your next words carefully, “Umm, you mean you wanna go undercover?”
Dean shrugged his shoulders, tilting his head to the side as he raised his eyebrows in a suggestive smirk, “If the shoe fits…”
“Well aren’t you romantic?” you quipped sarcastically.
“Oh sweetheart, just you wait and see,” Dean sent you a wink that you were sure had dropped many a panty in his time yet held little to no effect over you because… well because you were busy being a little too enraptured by his baby brother. That didn’t seem to stop Dean though, “Trust me, as your loving husband-” It was Sam’s turn to clear his throat, but again Dean ignored him, “I'm gonna romance the shit outta you.”
You scoffed at him in amusement, “Right, you mean when we go to couples therapy?”
“Baby girl, you’d be surprised-”
“Wait, wait, wait!” Sam couldn’t hold it in any longer, throwing both hands up in objection, “Can we just back up for a minute? Why does anyone have to get married?”
Dean shot him an incredulous look, “Come on, Sam, we've worked enough of these cases to know this is always the easiest and fastest way.”
Through stiff jaws Sam released a harsh, conceding sigh, “OK... then... why does it have to be you and Y/N?”
“Cause we’re best friends; it'll be more believable,” Dean answered easily with a grin.
A disbelieving stare crossed Sam’s indignant features before he looked down to suppress his emotions with a sardonic nod and pursed lips. It was one thing for Dean to suggest playing your husband but to claim that you're his best friend instead of Sam's... That was too far.
“Plus, you've always been better at playing FBI,” his brother continued with that irritating smile.
Sam gave himself a moment before stating adamantly, “I don't think it should be you.”
“What, why? You don't think we can get the job done?” Dean’s tone was accusing, and you knew he was trying to provoke Sam, but ever since the notion that two out of the three of you needed to play a married couple had been introduced, you found yourself at an inevitable impasse.
“No, I-“ Sam could barely get any words out before Dean circled back to you instead.
“Y/N?” The look Dean sent you forced you to face your inner dilemma head on. On the one hand, you wanted nothing more than an excuse to get close to Sam, to hold his hand and gaze at him adoringly without worrying about anyone seeing, and so much more… but on the other hand, you feared that a glimpse of the ‘real deal’, however contrived, might just push you over the decisive edge. What if you couldn’t go back to your platonic guise after? What if you broke your own heart?
“What? Um, yeah, I think it could work,” you rubbed the back of your neck nervously, keeping your eyes on Dean’s to avoid meeting Sam’s.
Your response elicited a smug expression on the older Winchester’s face however, as he returned to questioning his brother, “So what is it, Sam? You don't think I can pretend to be in love with Y/N? Cause trust me, that'll be easy.” There was that wink again, prompting a roll of your eyes.
“No, I just-“ You were worried Sam’s jaw might fall off if he clenched it any tighter. Why did he seem to care so much anyway? Was he jealous? The thought popped into your head almost as quickly as you dismissed it.
“Then what, Sam?” Dean plucked at that final straw and an explosion of the type that had seemed to become increasingly common from the ordinarily calm and gentle giant followed.
“IT SHOULD BE ME, OK?” Sam roared in frustration, his expansive chest was heaving and his hazel irises had darkened immeasurably. “It should be me,” he repeated more quietly.
Dean smirked; this was exactly what he wanted, exactly what he expected. “Well geez, Sammy. If you wanted to get with Y/N so bad, you could’ve just said so.”
“Wha- that’s not- I don't,” Sam looked extremely distressed and you couldn’t blame him. Whatever Dean was playing at had led him to essentially force Sam to reject you out right, and being the compassionate soul that he was, you knew Sam never wanted to hurt you that way, even if it was indirectly. “I just- I think it would work better this way. You're not exactly the marriage or therapy type and you're just not-“
“Yeah, yeah, I get it. You wanna shack up with Y/N and who could blame you? There’s no need to throw a hissy fit, baby brother. She’s all yours.” Dean chuckled at the sight of your averted eyes and Sam’s burning cheeks, thinking his work was just about done, “Alright, I’m gonna go get Baby ready. You kids have fun.”
When the echo of a closing door filled the room, Sam turned back to you, “Y/N, look I-“
“Don’t worry about it, Sam, I know what you meant,” you brushed him off hastily, “And you’re right, Dean would probably have a hard time keeping up the act. He’d end up flirting with the therapist or something.” Laughing always did help you conceal the pain in your chest.
Tumblr media
As it turned out, it was a flirtatious therapist you should have been more concerned about. The woman had eyes for Sam only as soon as the two of you walked into her office and sat down on the tiny loveseat before her.
“Welcome, I’m Dr. Ryan, but you can call me Marlena,” she paused to perform a not-so-subtle scan along the length of Sam’s body before smiling at him seductively, “Why don’t we start by introducing yourselves?”
You kept your expression neutral though there was an urge to glare at her. After all, didn’t she think Sam was a married man? Perhaps this was part of the scam that got the couples before you killed, your rational side countered.
“Uh, OK…” Sam appeared rather uncomfortable beside you, pressing his lips into a tight semblance of a smile, “Umm, I'm Sam and this is my wife Y-Y/N.”
The damn Winchester was always so adorably flustered every time someone hit on him, something you never failed to find incredibly endearing, especially considering he was a 6'4” hunk of a man who could surely get inside the pants of any woman he wanted. You assumed, being that good looking, he’d be used to the attention by now, but the fact that he still reacted this way was a true testament to his humility.
“And how did you two meet?”
“Through work,” Sam answered shortly. A resounding pang had shot through his chest when he introduced you as his wife and he was still trying to recoup. If only this wasn't all make-believe, if only he could sit close to you and hold your hand in his whenever he wanted and not just for the sake of a ridiculous pretence. The Mr. and Mrs. titles and matching rings weren't even necessary. He just wanted to make you his as much as he was already yours.
Fuck, Dean was right; Sam was in deep. Just the thought of Dean acting as your husband had his heart racing and every muscle in his body tense with envy. There was no way he could have handled seeing his brother all over you, even if it was pretend. And if the fact that he had to make Dean go get the rings for your current ruse, because he had a strong suspicion the act of buying you a ring yet knowing it wasn’t real might just annihilate the final pieces of his fragile heart, wasn’t telling enough... Sam was finally beginning to realize that he could no longer deny his feelings for you.
“Tell me about that. What is it you two do?”
Although the questions were directed at both of you, Marlena’s gaze remained resolutely transfixed upon Sam, but the man was much too busy thinking about you to notice.
“Uh, well it was about 3 years ago. We’re firefighters and Y/N had been sent from another division to help out with a particularly bad… fire. But she somehow got there before we did, and when I arrived on the scene, I saw her walk out of the burning building in a blaze of smoke and dust. She was carrying a little boy, who she had just saved, covered in ash and soot, a-and there was scrape above her left brow that had left a trail of darkened blood down the side of her face,” Sam smiled to himself at the memory, “But I couldn’t move. It was just all so surreal because it was the last thing I expected to find, and I thought she was the most beautiful soul I had ever set my eyes on. I knew right then that I would gladly devote the rest of my life to getting to know her better, to becoming worthy of her, but when she came up to us, I could barely speak in full sentences and I made a fool of myself by stumbling over my own feet. My brother, who’s uh- also a firefighter, later told me he thought I was having a stroke.” Sam chuckled softly. His eyes were downcast, and he seemed to be a little lost in his own world.
By contrast, you were staring at him in shock. You remembered the day quite clearly, although in reality it was a wendigo that you were forced to kill by starting a fire since your flare gun wouldn’t work, but Sam got the rest of the details spot on. The lilt of his voice as he spoke had made it all sound so real, for a moment, you nearly tricked yourself. Who knew he had such incredible acting chops on top of all those other skills?
“Well, that sounds like a beautiful start. I’m assuming you work together now?” Taking note of the new edge in her voice, you gave her a nod and Dr. Ryan continued, pushing her glasses up the bridge of her nose with a pen, “It must be terribly hard to maintain a work-life balance and keep the romance alive. I’m sure there are issues from work that you’ll often bring home, conflicts that can never be resolved considering the lack of alone time? Maybe something you found annoying about the other that seemed bearable in the beginning but has now festered to become an unmendable chasm between the two of you?”
Your eyes narrowed of their own accord. Between the obvious flirting to the now obvious attempt to instigate discord between you and Sam, you were starting to think Marlena was undoubtedly the monster (that or she was an awful couples therapist). Her motive remained unclear though, so you played along.
“Uh, well Sam can be a bit… overprotective, at times, when we’re working, and sometimes it can get in the way of the job.”
“Ok but that’s only because Y/N can be ludicrously stubborn, at times, and she has a habit of running headfirst into danger." Sam was surprisingly quick to retort.
"It's literally our job to run into danger, Sam.” Your body was now twisted to face his, “And if I recall correctly, my ‘ludicrous stubbornness’ has led to the saving of multiple lives, yours included."
Sam lowered his head and scoffed lightly before he too turned to face you completely, golden eyes boring into yours with an intensity you were not prepared for, "I know it has but sometimes you act like other people's lives are worth more than yours and that's not true. Besides, it's my job to care about you, to protect you… I-I mean as your husband."
For a second, things got a little too real there, but you took a deep breath to remind yourself this was all just an act, "And I appreciate that Sam, but sometimes it can be a bit overbearing-"
"Well if I'm overbearing it's only because I'm terrified every time we go out there,” Sam began to enunciate every word stiffly, speaking almost entirely through gritted teeth, “Because I can't bear the thought of losing you, because I can't fathom living a life without you!"
And once again, you were left staring at him with your mouth agape. He sure was laying it on thick, or perhaps he just wanted to win the fight, because you had no idea how to argue against that.
“Alright, I think that’s enough on that topic. Maybe we should try something else,” Dr. Ryan interjected, “Oh look at that, time’s almost up! I always end my sessions with a fun little exercise. I want you to look each other in the eyes and take turns coming up with one positive word to describe the other, something you love about your partner, but it must be genuine.”
Quirking your brow, you struggled to restrain the smile on your face as you turned back to Sam. Well this’ll be easy.
“Intelligent,” you stated matter-of-factly, figuring you’d start with something relatively un-incriminating.
“Strong,” Sam came back at you immediately. There was a fierceness in his eyes, almost as if he was daring you to bring it on.
“Kind,” came your simple response.
“Discerning.” His voice seemed lower for some reason.
“Capable,” you kept your eyes locked on Sam’s as you lifted your chin.
“Tough.” There was an undeniable fondness that accompanied the word when it left his lips.
“Sassy,” you replied, unable to stop the smirk that tugged at the corner of your mouth.
“Tenacious,” Sam narrowed his eyes at you.
“Selfless.” Why did you sound so out of breath?
“Complex.” He was smiling at you now.
“Protective,” you finally admitted despite your earlier complaints.
“Beguiling,” Why were you both whispering?
“Tall.” Was that lust you could hear in your own voice?
“Badass,” Was that lust you could hear in his voice?
“Gorgeous… or handsome if you prefer.” When did your faces get so close?
“So fucking beautif-”
“Woah! OK, I think we’re done here.” Shit, you had almost forgotten about the therapist. “That was… excessive. I don’t think I’ll be needing to see you again,” she declared as she stood up rather suddenly, prompting you and Sam to do the same though you were both still a little caught up in your game.
“Wow, you really are tall,” Marlena breathed out as she smoothed a hand down her pencil skirt. The provocative tone of her voice had you back down to earth in no time. "And those years of firefighting have definitely paid off, what with all those big muscles.”
Sam gave an awkward half laugh as he wrapped an arm around your waist to pull you tight against his side. You weren’t sure what compelled you to but as if on instinct, you raised your outer hand and placed it lightly on Sam’s stomach, feeling his abs contracting even through the soft flannel beneath your fingers as you replied, “Yeah, that’s just another one of the many things I love about Sam.”
The laugh that escaped Sam this time was much more sincere, “Thank you for your time, Dr. Ryan.” He kept his hand on your waist as he led the two of you out the door, trying his damnedest to ignore the enticing sensation your touch had evoked throughout his body, as well as the subsequent questions of what your little hand might feel like on other parts of him if a simple graze of his abdomen could produce such a dramatic effect.
Tumblr media
“Did it seem like she was rushing us to you?” you questioned Sam pensively when you were back at the motel half an hour later.
“Yeah, like the more we spoke, the more she lost interest in us,” he agreed.
Your next words tumbled out without permission and you could only cringe at the bitter inflection of your voice, “Well, she didn’t seem to lose any interest in you.”
Sam felt himself smile at your adorableness; he couldn’t help it when your bottom lip jutted out like that. If he didn’t know any better, he would’ve thought you were jealous.
“Are you two outta your damn minds?” Dean looked from his brother’s face to yours. “Did you even check the time? She only gave you about half of what we paid for!”
“What, really?” you and Sam responded in chorus.
“Yeah, but luckily I’m a genius and I got everything we needed within the first few minutes.” Grinning in that cocky way of his, Dean explained, “Your EMF sensors were off the charts as soon as you walked into her office, and I found ectoplasm in the bathroom.”
“She’s a ghost?” Sam did that adorable scrunchy thing with his face and you had to physically stop yourself from staring.
“Possessed by one, yeah. And I checked the records. She spent at least an hour overtime with both of the dead couples.”
“So, what, are we not good enough to be her next victims?” you wondered.
“Maybe she saw through the act?” Sam suggested.
Dean was fumbling through a stack of papers until he found something, “Yeah, I don’t think that’s it. Here, check this out.”
Sam started to read out loud, “’Grave of local girl found desecrated by joggers passing through the cemetery early Sunday morning…’”
“Turns out the kid got pushed out a window accidentally when her parents were fighting... Splat.” Dean elaborated, ever so tactfully.
You were starting to piece it together though, “So now she’s seeking out dysfunctional couples to kill them the way she died… for what, revenge? Or to stop them from accidentally murdering their own kids?”
“That’s my best guess,” Dean confirmed.
“Huh… nice work on research, buddy. I’m impressed,” the playful grin you sent Dean’s way was not lost on Sam.
“Yeah, well your husband’s not the only one who can look stuff up around here. Besides, someone had to do the work while you two were off playing Mr. and Mrs. Smith.”
“Sam and I have never tried to kill each other,” you argued.
Dean snorted while grabbing his jacket, “And that’s about the only way your relationship differs.”
When he saw your brows pull together in confusion, Sam quickly cut in to change the subject, “So uh- what’s the plan?”
His brother was nearly out the door when he responded, “Nice and easy. I’ll go burn the bones while you guys go back and distract her with your little love fest, capiche?”
The ghost was surprisingly open this time around, admitting freely to her past crimes and even explaining her methods. Apparently, flirting with the husbands was a routine and easy test to spot any cracks in the relationships, one that she claimed Sam had passed with flying colors. But you knew better than to assume his achievement had anything to do with you. After all, you’d seen the man hold fast against the fervent advances of a high-end stripper before, while he was drunk. This was nothing.
“But why kill them?” Sam questioned, with the kind of genuine curiosity that only he could exhibit towards a murderous monster.
“Because it’s better to die than stay in a loveless marriage… But of course you two wouldn’t underst-“ Dean must have completed his task because the therapist was interrupted by a shapeless black plume bursting through her mouth.
‘Oh Shit,’ you thought relentingly as you watched the spirit eject itself and disappear into a fiery cloud of dark fumes, a forlorn expression upon your face, ‘I’m in love with Sam Winchester.’

———
I hear the bathroom door close slowly and scrunch up my face. I try to fall back asleep, but the small noises throughout Jackson and my's bedroom keep me from it. After a while, I let out a small yawn and open my eyes, blinking to adjust to the light coming in from the rising sun.
I make an attempt to sit up in bed, but my back protests, sore and achey. I let out a small groan and catch Jackson's face pop out from behind his closet's doorframe.
"Y/n, crap, did I wake you?" Jackson winces, taking quiet steps toward my side of the bed.
"No no no, my back is just killing me, this little stinker won't let me get comfortable. I tried reasoning with him, but he won't give." I groan again, laying on my right side.
Jackson sighs in relief and walks around the bed to my side. He kneels down and kisses me on the cheek, running a hand through my hair.
"Maybe he'll listen to me." He leans down to my tummy, removing the white comforter covering my body and lifting up my oversized pajama shirt. Jackson taps at my tummy and I giggle at the sight. "Hey, buddy," He whispers, "you gotta let your Momma rest... She's already cranky enough."
I laugh and roll my eyes, pushing Jackson's shoulder, and causing him to stumble over. "Okay, maybe no more talk time for you."
Jackson steadies himself with a chuckle and and stands up straight. He brushes off his dark jeans and zips up a grey jacket, fixing up the hood.
"I made breakfast and happened to have some left over. It's just some eggs and toast. I put it in a little container and left it on the island if you want it later." Jackson says as he makes his way to the other side of the bed to grab his keys from the nightstand.
"Thank you, you gonna be okay leaving me here alone?" I ask as Jackson walks over to the bedroom door.
"I don't know, are you gonna be okay alone?" Jackson replies sarcastically. I grin. "Alright, if you need anything, you can call me and I'll try to get here. If you can't reach me, try my mom."
"Okay, okay'" I say quietly, pushing myself up to sit up in bed despite the pain.
Jackson notices and frowns. He walks over again and leans down to kiss me. "Don't do anything too strenuous, okay? Just get your rest."
I scoot back against the headboard and nod, looking him in his bright green eyes. "Okay, I promise."
"I love you, Y/n." Jackson smiles, kissing me one last time before heading out.
I yell back an 'I love you' and wave as he leaves the room. I hear the front door shut a few seconds later and sit in silence. Every few seconds, I shift and scoot around, trying to find a way to ease the aches.
Jeez, bud, parenting better be less painful than this. I complain to myself.
After a few minutes of sitting alone with my thoughts, I swing my legs over the edge of the bed. I set my feet down and push myself up, holding onto my belly with my free hand in the process.
I decide to take a few steps, wobbling here and there. After what feels like hours, I finally make it into the kitchen. The eggs and toast sit inside a clear plastic container and I nearly gag at the smell.
No thanks...
I take it upon myself to make myself breakfast. I throw out the toast and eggs in the trash can and ponder what to eat. I find a nearly finished bag of Corn Flakes and take a bowl, pouring the cereal and eating it like popcorn. After that, I snack on a frozen Pop-Tart and drink a glass of milk.
Settling myself on the living room couch, I flick through TV channels, bored out of my mind. Minutes pass by like hours and I end up falling asleep on the couch.
The nap ends after an hour and a half, when I suddenly feel a few sharp pains in my right side. I rub my stomach and lean my head back, trying to calm myself down.
You're okay, bud. You're okay, Momma's okay. We're okay.
I take deep breaths, trying to keep my composure. I grip the arm of the couch with one hand and force myself to stand. I stumble across the house, still rubbing my side and making small, calming affirmations to myself and the baby.
This is the fourth time this month...
I make it back to the bedroom and force myself to change into some baggier clothing. The pain subsides slightly as I begin putting on my sneakers. I groan, taking my set of keys and phone from the dresser in front of our bed.
I make my way around and out of the house, locking the door behind me. I force my keys into my pocket and dial my OB, Carina DeLuca.
"Y/n! What's going on? Are you okay?" Carina answers quickly, concern laced in her voice.
"I just wanted to come in... as a precaution," I say as I walk into the building's elevator. "I've been, getting these shooting pains for the past month. I just want to check if the baby's okay."
"Do you want me to make you an appointment?" Carina asks.
"No- I don't want Jackson to know, he might find out somehow. Could you just squeeze me in quickly?" I bite my lip, tapping my foot as I wait for the elevator doors to open at the bottom floor.
"Okay... Okay, I can try. Right now is perfect. Just tell the nurses up front it's an emergency and they should let you right in." Carina explains.
"Oh, thank you, Carina. You're the best. I should be there in a few." I gush, trying to rush off the elevator.
"Y/n, are you gonna be driv-" I hang up the phone before Carina can finish and try to rush out to my car.
———
"Carina, is he okay? Is my baby okay?" I ask urgently, looking between her and the ultrasound machine.
Carina continues moving the wand around where the pain would be. "He looks buono e sano, good and healthy, Y/n/n."
I let out a sigh of relief, laying my head back against the headrest. "Oh, thank God... But what could those pains have been?"
Carina purses her lips and removes the wand from my stomach, cleaning off the residue. "Could be stress, could be the hormones, different foods, your muscles could be constricting because they've had to work so hard with supporting the baby."
I shake my head. "Oh, I was so scared. I didn't want to go into early labor. Thank you for squeezing me in, I really appreciate it."
"No problem, amica mia. Now are you sure you don't want to tell Jackson?" She removes her gloves and I can feel her gaze from behind me.
"No, it's okay. I'm probably just gonna head home." I say, scooching off the examination table and grabbing my clothes to change back into.
———
I tug on my baggy shirt and put my phone in my back pocket, looking up to decide which way to go to get to my car.
Before I can even make a decision, Schmitt runs up, panting like a madman.
"Dr. L/n! We need Ortho. We got a trauma in, motorcycle accident, rider's right and left legs broken in 4 places each, right shoulder dislocated and left arm broken in two places."
He looks me up and down and his face grows red. "You're supposed to be on maternity leave, aren't you?"
"Doesn't matter now, Glasses. Let's go!"
Schmitt ushers me towards the trauma bay and adrenlaine rushes through me. The pain immediately evades my body and everything after is a blur.
I pull on a trauma gown over my loose clothes and tie up my hair into a ponytail. The patient is located in Trauma 1 and I rush in, finding Owem, Meredith, and Amelia already assessing the biker.
"Y/n! Shouldn't you be at home? I thought you were on maternity leave?" Amelia cocks her head to the side and I shake my head.
"Just back for the day," I say quickly. I turn to Schmitt, asking for reassurance, "So, what do we have here?"
He begins, "Multiple broken bones, bruising and cuts everywhere, he's practically roadkill."
"Well by the time we're done with him, he'll be just fine. Let's get an OR booked, order an MRI and page Plastics too!"
———
Jackson and I met when I transfered from Seattle Presbyterian a few years back. I was a 5th year and he was a Plastics fellow.
By the time I became an Orthopedics fellow, we had already established ourselves as the power couple of the hospital, despite not being a couple yet.
Wherever he went, I was likely to follow. Our cases were often linked and we spent a lot of our time together outside of the hospital as well.
When he first asked me out, it was during a surgery of ours together. We spent our one year anniversary watching over an ICU patient. He proposed to me in an empty OR after a successful surgery. I told him I was pregnant in the Attendings lounge. Our whole story was based in the hospital.
I wait outside OR 4, eyeing the elevator from the corner of my view. Any second now our motorcycle guy would be wheeled in and I'd get to scrub in.
"Y/n! Y/n!" I hear him yell from the elevator, trying to get my attention.
Oh shit.
Jackson jogs over to me, concern washed over his face. I frown slightly, feeling bad that he's so worried about me.
"Jackson, hi, um, how...how did you find me?"
Jackson ushers me into the scrub room and closes the door behind us.
"Y/n, you can't be working, remember? You're on maternity leave. Go home." Jackson grabs me by my shoulders, looking me up and down.
"Jackson, I am fine! It's just one surgery, it's not that bad-" I pull out from his grasp and cross my arms under my chest.
"'Not that bad'? Y/n, that surgery could take more than a few hours. You could barely get out of bed this morning!" Jackson's motions to the operating room, raising his voice and I sigh.
"Jackson, we will continue this conversation at home. Preferably, after I finish this surgery." I say stubbornly. I turn to leave and Jackson follows me. I spot Owen and Amelia walking toward us and smile. "Hey, where's the patient?"
Amelia sucks in a breath. "We're holding off on surgery. He's very touch-and-go, so we're holding him in the ICU until tomorrow."
The both of them frown at me and I nod sadly. "Oh, okay. Thanks anyway, you guys."
"Y/n. Let's go." Jackson says sternly, looking only at me.
"I hope it all goes well tomorrow."
———
My breathing steadies after I sit on the bottom bunk in an on-call room. Jackson shuts the door behind us and opens the shutter slightly, letting a bit of the setting sun seep into the room.
I keep my head down, eyes closed. Afraid he'll be angry at me.
We're silent for a few seconds, trying to figure out what to say to each other. He starts first.
"Y/n, you know that I love you, right?" Jackson kneels down in front of me, I can feel his gaze resting on me.
"Yeah," I mumble, slowly lifting my head so we can meet each other's eyes.
"And you know that I'm taking your maternity leave so seriously because I want what's best for you and the baby, right?"
I groan and nod, covering my face with my hands. "Yes."
"Is it wrong? To want you both to be stress-free and healthy? Look at me when you answer, please."
Jackson takes my hands off my face and holds them, kissing the the backs of them before I respond. "No, it's not."
"Carina paged me, she said you came in. That you were worried about the baby. She told me he's okay. That you're okay." I can see tears forming in Jackson's eyes. He bows his head down and still clutches my hands tightly.
"Please, just promise me you'll take these last 4 weeks off. Completely. No work, no stress. Just bed rest and someone waiting on you." Jackson pleads softly, searching my face for an answer.
I lean in and kiss him softly. I take my hands out of his and wipe his tears from his eyes.
"I'm sorry, I just miss being at the hospital, on my feet, ready to go wherever I need to be. This little guy just sucks the energy right out of me." I chuckle, holding Jackson close to me.
He kisses the top of my head and rests his cheek there for a few seconds. "Can I talk to him really quickly?" Jackson asks quietly, I'm barely able to hear him.
I let out a small laugh, remembering this morning. "Go ahead, but no Momma slander."
Jackson grins at me and we sit beside each other on the bottom bunk. He lifts my fresh navy scrubs up to the top of my belly and I hold them there for him. He taps again, lightly and clears his throat.
"Hi, bud. You doin' okay in there...?"
We stay there, taking turns talking to the little guy, excited for the day where we get to call ourselves parents.

"Baby, please? I promise my parents would like you, love you even! They have been dying to meet you."
Cue trying so hard to earn a yes from you, a little bit too hard if you could say.
He would give hint by getting more soft, a lot clingier since December start. When you asked why, he just answer with a little runy nose — that it's winter and hugging you felt so warm.
There were gifts, chocolate, or some of your favourite snack on your locker. Every. Single. Day. You didn't even need to wonder who since your boyfriend would wink at you after you were done putting some stuff on the locker.
Three days before Christmas, that was when he decided to drop the bomb.
So here you were right now, "arguing" with him in front of mini-market. The two of you just done having a little date around the park and decided to grab some hot chocolate when he suddenly begging you to be with him on Christmas day.
"I am sorry! I just don't know how to ask—"
"Well, you could have just, ask."
"THAT'S NOT THE POINT!"
He was usually the one who have the upperhand in the relationship. Not like he demanded you to comply all of his request of course, but you were that whipped for him deep down, making you agree over anything that he said or ask.
But you wanted to be a little tease today, thus keeping a straight line on your face as you listened to him beg, again and again, rambling about how you didn't have to worry over anything.
Though, he was the one who ended up getting worried once you settled in on his house.
You and Osamu was the epitome of hell itself once combined, and he never thought the day would come where he had a mischievous lover like you.
When you sat down on the dining table to eat dinner together, no doubt that his parents loves you, worship you. His mother would thank you,
"Oh, dear. Thank you so much for being so patience. I know he was not easy to be with, and I am so happy that someone could finally handle him."
"Mom!"
Well, now you know where Osamu's sarcastic and jabbed remark came from.
His father on the other hand could only shake his head in amusement, though he was the one who would eyeing you like a hawk, kinda a little protective to his son.
Well, the twins were they only children, and his father knew exactly how popular they were. He didn't want a random girl fawning over his son just to know she only loved the setter because of his looks.
"Tell me, (Y/n). Why you love Atsumu?"
Everyone was taken aback by the question. The older Miya had been so silence ever since dinner starts, but he suddenly cut through the conversation, hands grabbing a fork and plop some food inside his mouth mindlessly, waiting for your answer.
"That's a hard question, sir." But you didn't mind, you actually knew. "Not going to lie at first I was going to reject his confession. I just know he is a good classmate and passionate about volleyball and that's that."
His father hummed, telling you to continue, intrigued by your way of thinking.
"But I ask him to give me time, and I use that to actually know him deeper. I investigate him deeper at a match, asking Ginjima how he was, and from all the stories that Gin told me, I get hooked along the way."
There was a longing look inside your eyes, your voice was soft as you told everyone that with time, unraveling every layer of Atsumu, was a blessing and the one that made you fall deeper and deeper.
Atsumu's father could see it all, from how you talked about his son, the glimmer in your eyes, the excitement and the soft look on your face — he could trust you, he could ask you to take care of his son too.
Meanwhile, when you chatter about why you love Atsumu, the setter could only focus on you. His grip on the knife and fork went loose, listening with heart eyes and a little tear on his face.
You were his first girlfriend, and to know that you were so supportive, so kind and (he believed) so much in love with him, he knew that you were the one for him.
"Seriously? Yer crying?"
"Shut up, Samu!"
— Miya Osamu —
Ever since he was in a relationship with you, his parents really wanted to meet the girl who apparently could be in the same priority level as food in the younger twin's life.
Like, well, he never think much about wanting to have a relationship. He heard his twin whine about how lovely it was to have a lover, but he didn't care less and just shrug it off.
Though you came into the picture and suddenly, he wanted to try it out — romantic relationship.
He would ask you to join him for Christmas, thinking it was a good excuse and throw his parents wanting to meet you as the reason (while he deep down wanted to just spend lots of time with you).
Of course he thought about it thoroughly, asking you two weeks before the holy day while you were eating lunch with him in the cafetaria.
"Are you free on Christmas day?"
"No shit, Sherlock, my parents wanted to spend Christmas together.
"Oh, okay."
But well, sometimes things weren't going to go as it planned.
Osamu would be a little moody after that, continuing his lunch with heads hanging low as he pondered if there was any possible way to make you spend time with him on Christmas day.
He could imagine the older twin mock him. Saying things about how he has a girlfriend and yet couldn't even invite her to have a nice dinner together with the family.
Family. That was the reason why you couldn't spend Christmas with him. But he only needed you at least around dinner time, he wouldn't steal your time the entire day, right?
His eyes lit up in an instant, now knowing what he should do next. He already had lots of strategies in mind, food was really the best thing ever, making it easy to think and plan some genius move.
And you just sat there, eyebrows raised in wonder at how your boyfriend seemed to be a lot more expressive today.
What you never expected was to come home one day, around five days before Christmas, only for your parents to tell you to join your boyfriend for Christmas dinner.
You were taken aback, your parents didn't know Osamu's number and such (right?), but how come they suddenly let you so easily with a soft look on their eyes.
With curiosity, of course, you asked them what happened. But they just gave each other some mischievous look before telling you to clean up after walking home with snow outside, making you grumble under your breath.
The day had come, Osamu had been messaging you about the time and how he couldn't wait to spend some time with you. He was a sweet boyfriend, and you really appreciate all the morning greetings and some extra lunch that he always made for you.
His father welcome you inside, smiling softly and announce your presence to the whole house. There was loud thumps from the staircase, and within seconds, your boyfriend rushed towards you and stood with a giddy smile on his face.
"Welcome to the Miya household."
Unlike Atsumu, his parents knew that if Osamu liking someone, there must be something special about her. His dad wouldn't be afraid that his lover would turn out to be just a manipulating girl.
So his father wouldn't ask much, the dinner running so smooth as his mother asked you if you were not bored with Osamu who was hungry all the time,
"No, no! That is fine, Samu is so cute when he whines about wanting some food, that was adorable, actually."
Thus making Atsumu gag, his mother having some heart eyes, his father nodded in approval, and well — Osamu himself would blush and shove the food into his mouth to prevent himself from saying embarrassing things.
You were friends with the twins, making your parents allowed you to spend more time on the Miya household. And when you told Osamu that you could stay longer, he immediately dragged you upstairs, and you felt three pairs of eyes trailing on your figure as he did so.
He didn't say anything, pulling you to his shared bedroom with Atsumu and plop you down to the bed, making you raise your eyebrows.
Before you could ask him what he wanted, he immediately joined you on the bed, laying down next to you and pulled you to his embrace without any warning.
You were confused, yes he could be so affectionate here and there, saying that he loves it so much when your fingers playing with his rough hair. But he never did this before, even when he came to your house to do some assignment, he never go this far.
"Can we do this more often?" He whispered, nuzzling his head on your nape as his arms circled your figure, securing you on his embrace.
"Hm? Next year Christmas?" You teased him, knowing that he must want more. But you didn't hear any complain or some groan from him, making you wonder if he fell asleep or just ignoring you.
"You think we could last that long?" Ah, what is that? Is that insecurity lingered there. You couldn't help but smile, interlacing your hand with his, answering him physically by squeezing it.
"I do, I do believe we could last that long." And even more.
— Suna Rintarou —
How to say this,
Suna is a jealous man. He may not look like it, but he could be so overprotective over something that belongs to him.
Compared to him, you were not some school star or something, you are known enough, but not at the level where everyone worships you.
But still, he would throw a dagger to either boys and girls who look at you with awe on their faces. He mostly following you around, always there in front of your classroom before walking with you to the cafetaria.
He is a jealous man, he didn't like to share you, not at all. And well, at this moment, to the extent where he didn't want his own family to steal you away from him (knowing how charming the Suna bloodline must be).
You have been hinting about wanting to meet his family for weeks, especially when December rolled in. Every time you talk about Christmas you always asked what would he do, was there any family tradition or such.
"I wonder what would it be to spend Christmas day at your household." "What is your adorable sister do every Christmas morning?" "It must be so festive there, you are so selfish not to share me anything~!"
Well, yeah he is a jealous man indeed. But his jealousy becomes nothing the second you subtlely ask about wanting to spend Christmas day with him.
It would make you happy, right? If he invite you to join him for the holy day, that was what you wanted, right?
And for sure if it was something that you wanted, he would set aside his selfishness and jealousy.
He asked you to meet his family at Christmas five days before the day. You were squealing so hard, hugging his arms before grabbing his face to level with yours, pampering his face with kisses while the two of you were on the way home.
Well, he did not expect this much of reaction. You rambling about how you were going to look your best, maybe making something like cookies or cake for everyone — and it amused him, very much so.
And the rambling didn't stop there, you keep telling him about your plan for the rest of the week. How you wanted to make sure that his family would love her, and you punch his arm once, telling him not to sugarcoat their parents.
You wanted his family to love you for who you were, not just because of their son and brother falling for you.
He didn't say anything though, just nodding and kiss you on the forehead to distract you. It was enough ramble for the day, now he needed your affectionate gesture.
And inside the empty classroom, anything could happen to both of your liking.
The big day came. With a box of cookies in your hand, you were ready. Well, you hope so. The twins said that Suna's family is intense... You could only hope that you survive spending a few hours here.
But this, you never thought that this is what the twins definition of intense,
"Oh my, you are so pretty. Look at you, and oh my God is that cookies, dear? What is it? Choco chips—"
"You must be Rintarou's girlfriend! I am so happy that you are real. Wait, you are real, right? Did he pay you anything? That boy really not good with girls—"
"Hey nee-chan, nee-chan look at me! Yes yes, why you wanted to be in a relationship with that lanky beanpole?"
You screamed. Internally. And maybe if the twins were here right now they would laugh their asses off with how dumbstruck you look right now.
WHERE IS YOUR BOYFRIEND—
Oh there he was, walking doen the stairs with a sleepy look. Ah, he just takes a nap, figured.
The ruckus downstairs woke him up, thus with tired look decided to check what happens. But when he saw you standing there on the doorway with his entire family,
He decided to run away.
From the corner of your eyes, you could see how he silently walk back up, making you to take a note in your head that he wouldn't get some kisses today no matter how much he beg you too (okay maybe one kiss but JUST one kiss).
"Nee-chan, would you play with me then? I am sure I am a whole lotta fun compared to that thief!"
"Eh, thief? What do you mean thief?"
"He stole all of my height, see?" Rintarou little sis twirl her body around, showing how petite she is with a straight face, though her eyes shone with annoyance. "Come on, nee-chan. I am gonna show you how fun Christmas here in Suna household!"
Ah yes. How fun indeed as you getting drag here and there by everyone.
You were forced to binge Home Alone with his sister, she would tell you all of her favourite scenes while rambling and complain about her brother. It was cute actually, and you started to enjoy her company.
But in a split second her mother brought you to the kitchen, asking for help for the dinner meal and wanted you to teach her how to make those tasty cookies you brought for them. She was enjoyable too, fun and cheerful.
Though your boyfriend's father suddenly asks you about some opinion of his watches collection. And when you choose one, he started to tell you stories about how he achieve it, how it was a pity Rintarou didn't like the same thing as he is.
At this point you just wanted to cuddle and run away with your boyfriend. Not gonna lie they were all lovely, but you didn't even see him today. He jusg found you there on his family's grasp and decided to give up.
He finally went down when the dinner is ready, and you immediately gave him the deadliest look that you could throw. His whole body shuddered as your eyes never left him, feeling like he found the second Kita-san in a form of his usually sweet, beloved girlfriend.
He made a mistake for letting everyone befriend you, for letting his intense family get the best of you.
As you sat down on the dining chair, you made a mental note that the next Christmas, he would be the one who was tormented.
— Kita Shinsuke —
"Obaa-san wanted to meet you."
Ah, typical Kita Shinsuke, always straight to the point, sometimes could not even wait for you to finish your drink before dropping information that could change your life.
You burst the canned drink out from your mouth in surprise. You could hear a whisper lord, have mercy rolled down his tongue before patting your lips and chin with his handkerchief.
"W-What? Why? I mean, did you tell her that you are in a relationship with me?"
"Of course I tell her, who do you think I learn to properly ask someone out if I didn't get it from a perspective from the same gender?"
Basically everything. Kita Shinsuke never hides things from his lovely granny. Everything that he learn about this life, he got it all from her. Including how mischievous he could be sometimes, all her.
"Alright, alright. When?" You would be lying to yourself if you are not nervous. Hell this is the first time you have a serious relationship, with someone none other than a straight-A student, diligent, perfection—
"Hm, this Christmas would be good. You alright with that?" Six months, six months the two of you were together and maybe it was time to meet his granny. At least it was just his granny, not his entire family.
You nodded, sipping on your drink once again. Your mind already filled with scenarios that might happen, you asked him things that you need to do, thinking about what kind of girl that his granny would like.
He chuckles though, patting your head gently and smile at how nervous you look. You are a strong girl, someone that can stand up for themselves. So when you look so cute biting your lips like this, he let it all sink in and enjoy it.
"What are you trying to achieve with that question?" He asks softly, really curious about the way you think. "She would love anyone that I love, so I promise, you have nothing to be worried about."
He plants a soft kiss on your forehead, whispering some praises and reassurance that would ease your heart. Yes, you can believe anything that he said, even though it seems like it was too good to be true.
Kita never tell lies, he would tell you sweet things, he would scold you, he would tell you when you have done something wrong. Everything about him is just and honest, you literally would never ask for someone other than him.
But right now as you sat with familiar four pair of orbs eyeing your every move, you really wanted to run away.
He didn't lie, yes it is true that his granny wanted to meet you in person. He told you how she has been dying to see you, the girl who could finally slide into his heart, possibly the same girl who she would see in a wedding dress with her grandson by her side.
Though, he forgot to mention that his entire family would be there too.
You could feel your back getting all sweaty even though it was winter. Maybe you produce a cold sweat, maybe you would die in seconds if this keep going.
It was like when the first time you met your boyfriend, his eyes penetrating your soul as if you know that those orbs could see right through you.
But unlike back then when you met him and him alone on the school library. Right now, there are four of them. FOUR. The intensity multiplied, the gaze never left your face and you wanted to smack the little smirk that tugged on his lips.
"All of you scared the poor girl!" Saved by the granny.
His granny went to the kitchen before, finishing one last meal before placing the dish on the table. She immediately sat beside you, her palm delicately caressed your back, trying to calm you down. A frown slip on her face when he could feel the beads of sweat on your clothes.
Friendship with Kita Shinsuke is ended, now Kita Yumie is my friend—
Poor family all getting scolded by the mighty granny. She basically told them not to be too awkward. Yes, turns out everyone just doesn't know what to say and decided to wait for you to speak up first.
Like hell you could if they basically glare at you.
Though they all apologized, including your boyfriend. You said it was okay and since it was the first meeting, the awkwardness was bound to happen. Guess they were all kinda different compared to the certain volleyball captain.
Their parents have a rice farm, a big one you could say. The majority of the rice farm in Hyogo all belonged to Kita family. Both of them were so softspoken, like granny but without the playful intonation.
His siblings — you couldn't really read them. His older sister is so cool, she was kind and ask you all romantic things about your relationship with her dear brother. Granny Yumie would give some playful teasing and add more questions, both woman curious about Shinsuke's love life.
The little brother though, grimacing here and there every time the questions from the ladies were too much, eating his food like it was the most disgusting things ever.
"He can kiss, and you think it was good enough? My brother finally grow up!" "What is your favourite season, dear?" "Do you prefer Japanese wedding or those modern wedding? I love either of it as long as Shin-chan is your groom!"
You answer most of it with a stutter, the way you click with his family warm his heart as he looked at you with so much love. This didn't go unnoticed by his little brother of course, he was still in Junior High, didn't really care about those things called love that the ladies boasting about.
Though, this was the first time he saw his older brother smiling softly, eyes glimmered as it never darted away from your face. And well, if his brother happy, then he would be happy for him.
Now he wonders what could he do to support his brother, there must be something, he just needed to know why. He wanted to show that he approve the relationship. Too shy to say it verbally, he needed another way.
His eyes that were similar to Shinsuke gleam in amusement when he saw the familiar plastic plant that he usually saw on the television. Those movies would make him shudder sometimes, with the actor's tongue meeting each others,
Oh well, at least if he could pull this of and timing it right, he was sure that all the ladies would thank him by the end of the day. (Extra cookies, and if that means he needed to see his brother kissing his girlfriend, maybe it was worth it)
Heh, this Christmas would be so much fun.

Knock You Up
Tumblr media
As a woman who firmly believes in romance and all of that mushy stuff, it sure is questionable as to why you’re in a relationship with Ransom Drysdale. He’s everything you should detest and yet you don’t, you adore him.
He’s the only man you’ve ever been in love with and you cannot see that changing anytime soon.
You’ve lost count of how many times your loyalty and love for Ransom has been questioned. Friends constantly ask and say
‘but why are you with him?’
or
‘you deserve better’
But you brush them off. Even his family, his own flesh and blood call you out on your apparent terrible choices. You just put it down to them not knowing him the way that you do. They don’t see the other side to him, the side that feels, loves and has a kind heart.
Of course he isn’t always that way, he has a temper, he loses his cool. He kicks off, throws stuff, shouts and screams. And that’s just the aftermath of one of his family parties. Which you’re at right now.
You’ve been here for an hour with your boyfriend of 2 years and you’ve had just about enough of their digging and sarcastic remarks about your relationship. It’s like they are always mocking you. Making fun of you behind your back and to your face even, they have no shame. No remorse.
“What did you just say about me?” you speak up, after listening in on their conversation for long enough now “i’m sorry” Walt turns to face you, watching as you stand in the doorway, sipping at your drink.
“You heard me. You’re all having a jolly good time mocking my love life, the relationship i’m in with Ransom, why don’t you explain yourself” his smile soon drops, he’s straight faced, staring you down as he scoffs “i’m good thank you” you just chuckle as you walk over to him.
You kneel down in front of him, your eyes locking on his “if you can’t explain yourself, the jokes you make, the digs. Then i suggest you keep your ugly mouth shut” you mutter, earning gasps from everyone in the room. Including Ransom who is more shocked at your attitude and bravery. You’ve always been the type to just sit pretty and ignore everything whenever you’ve attended a Thrombey party. Not tonight though, no, tonight you’re finally sticking up for yourself and your boyfriend.
“He’s your family and you all treat him like dirt. You should really take a good look at yourselves in the mirror, because you’re all disgusting” you stand up as you speak, glancing over at Ransom who starts laughing, unable to hold it in, you laugh too.
“God i’ve spent 2 years holding all of that in and i’m so glad to finally say it. Walt, you’re a stuck up, old as fuck, ugly hearted bastard. Joni, you’re a money grabbing, selfish and self centred bitch. And as for you two, Linda, Richard. I’m glad that i don’t have to play nice with you anymore. The pair of you should have never been allowed to be parents. Ransom might be a lot of things but at least deep down he has a kind heart and one of the best personalities i’ve ever had the privilege to see. But you wouldn’t know that would you? Because all you’ve done his whole life is throw money his way and pray for the best results. It’s sad. Tragic even. Come on Ransom, we’re leaving” you strut out, Ransom follows closely behind.
Once you’re in the beamer, he crashes his lips to yours. It’s fiery and passionate.
“Have i ever told you just how much i love you?” he says as he turns the key in the ignition before stepping on the gas to get the fuck away from all of them.
“You might have a couple of times” you giggle, his free hand finds yours as he drives, holding it and intertwining your fingers before lifting it to his mouth so he can press a couple of quick kisses to your hand. He really worships the ground you walk on.
And that just makes you love him more. He treats you like a princess whilst also fucking you like the whore that you are for him, every day and night.
He pretty much speeds his way back to your shared place, well it was his place before you moved in and now it’s both of yours. Courtesy of Harlan Thrombey of course. One of the few members of Ransom’s family that you actually have the time of day for.
Ransom pulls up to your house and as soon as the engine stops, he’s rushing out and jogging round to your side to help you out, as he always does. He pulls you from your seat, lifting you up into his arms before kicking the door shut and continuing to carry you bridal style inside.
“Ransom” you squeal as he smacks your ass before putting you down.
He spins you around, making you go dizzy.
“You were on fire tonight baby, might have to rile you up more often” you smack him playfully on his chest, rolling your eyes as you do so.
“I’m sorry i know they are your family and all and i’m supposed to just keep out of it but they make it so hard to do that when they are constantly bashing you and mocking what we have” you say, you can hear the care in your voice. How much he means to you and how much the relationship means to you.
“It’s fine baby, really. I know i joke about it and play it off but really it’s fine. It stopped getting to me years ago. All that matters to me is you and our life together. Nothing else can faze me” you stand on your tip toes, wrapping your arms loosely around his neck to pull him down to meet your lips. Which of course he does.
Your lips fit together so perfectly, it’s almost as if you were made for each other.
And you believe that you were. You’ve always been a firm believer in soulmates. Someone for everyone, even Ransom Drysdale. A man who most would describe as an asshole. But even he found someone, he found you. The only woman that can bring him to his knees, the only person that knows everything about him that there is to know.
You know all of his sweet spots, all of his kinks, all of his secrets. It took him a while to get there but when he did, it was so special. When he finally opened up, properly.
Like the first time he cried in front of you, it broke your heart. It was actually the night you first slept with him. You were a virgin when you first met him so naturally, you made him wait.
You really weren’t kidding with the whole ‘he’s the only man you’ve ever been in love with’ thing. It’s the truth.
“I love you so much, you know that right? I never want to lose you, i want to be with you for the rest of my life” you say, cupping his face with your small hands, making sure to give him direct eye contact so he can see you properly.
“I know. I love you too, i’ve never felt like this about anyone. You’re never getting rid of me now baby, you and me forever” you smile before diving back into the kiss.
Tongues battle for dominance and teeth nip at bottom lips as you both tug at each others clothes. There’s a strong hunger that’s become very prominent since you left the party. Actually no, the hunger you have for each other is always prominent. You always crave each others touch and kisses.
“I want you so badly” you moan out as you remove his grey cable-knit sweater and he removes your tank top. You jump up, letting him catch you and you wrap your legs around his waist. He starts walking to your shared bedroom, laying you down on the Egyptian cotton sheets. Soft to the touch. Makes it even harder for you to leave the bed every morning.
“Do you have any idea how turned on i am by you?” he starts, removing the rest of his clothes and his boxers before hovering above you “you sticking up for me against my highly dysfunctional family and putting them in their place” you giggle from his open mouthed kisses as they begin at your jawline and trail down to your neck.
“No but i’m sure you can show me just how much” he pulls away, giving you the look. The look that even by now you know means he’s taking you up on that request. And boy will he show you how much he loves you and how hard you make him.
He gets off the bed and stands at the foot of it, signalling for you to join him and when you do he glares at you “do i even need to ask you pretty girl?” you shake your head no as you sink down to your knees, taking his hard cock in your small hand and pumping it a couple times.
You give the tip a couple of kitten licks to rid it of the pre cum that’s leaked out during the lead up to this moment. He groans as you take him in your mouth for the first time, throwing his head back and letting his mouth fall open slowly “oh god, just like that. Such a good girl” he praises, taking your hair in his hands to hold it up and out of your face, letting you really go for it.
And you do.
Saliva drips from the corners of your mouth and he stills your head so that he can take over “that’s a good little cock slut” he mutters, his thrusting pace picks up, grunting and groaning each time you gag and splutter all over him.
All of a sudden he pulls out. He bends down to pick you up and throw you onto the bed like you weigh nothing.
“You like sucking daddy’s cock, hm? Like causing a big mess all down yourself baby?” you nod, biting your lip “yes daddy” he smirks, as he wipes your chin.
“Open that mouth for me” you do as you’re told, opening nice and wide for him. He hovers over you once again, lowering his head and spitting into your mouth “like that huh? want me to do that to your cunt, spill my cum inside of it after i fuck you senseless?” you can’t help but feel more turned on as the minutes tick by. He’s always been able to get you crumbling so fast. He knows all the tricks.
“Yes. Please cum inside me”
He slowly removes the rest of the clothes that cover you up. The bra that hides your breasts. You arch your back, allowing him room to unhook it before tossing it behind him, setting them free. He leans down to show them love. Pinching the hardened peaks in his fingers before taking one in his mouth. Sucking and biting.
He shows the same amount of love to the other nipple before pulling off with a pop.
Next up are your jeans, he slides them off once undoing the button and pulling the zipper down.
And now you’re left in nothing but your red lacy panties. He licks his lips, growling as his eyes rake over your figure “so sexy”. His fingers hook into the waistband before he removes them in an instant. Like it didn’t even take him a second to do it.
You spread your legs for him, giving him a good show “look at this” he grazes his knuckles over it before pulling his hand away and tossing your panties.
Once they are on the floor he kisses his way back up to your sex, starting at your legs. You feel shivers all over your body as he gets higher, the pool in between your legs is growing more and more with each one he presses to your skin.
“Please, hurry. I need you” you beg, gripping onto the strands of his hair. He just tuts “so desperate to be fucked, to get stuffed full of my cum aren’t you?Well not so fast baby, let daddy take his time” you arch your back as your head falls back down to the sheets underneath.
“I need you now though, i need your cum now” he chuckles, as his face is now inches from your soaked pussy “oh you need it do you? And why’s that sweetheart?” you just hum in response, enjoying the feel of his breath on your clit.
“I asked you a question baby” you prop yourself up on your elbows “i love how it feels when you spill your cum inside of me” you lie as he licks across your folds briefly before pulling away.
“Let me guess. You want my cum so you can have my baby is that it? Should know by now that you can’t fool me sweetheart” you feel your cheeks heat up at the embarrassment of your broody side coming out, now of all times.
“Wait, no. That’s not it” you lie again. The thing is, Ransom is a lot of things but one thing you’ve always assumed of him is that he’s not the father type. That kids will never ever be a thing he wants. You don’t want to scare him away with how you feel. Lying is the best option right now. You don’t want to kill the buzz.
“Now now, don’t get all hasty. My woman wants a baby, she’s getting a baby” your mouth hangs open in shock as he moves upwards so that his head is level with yours. He presses a quick kiss to your forehead before lining himself up with your entrance.
“So wet for me, just the way i like you”
He slams in without warning, not that you expected one. It’s Ransom. You should be used to it by now. You grip onto his biceps, letting him ram into you again and again. With each thrust you move further up the bed. Your legs wrap around him, pulling him in even deeper, you need to feel him deeper.
“Daddy” you moan, your toes curl “you like this? Like me fucking this tight cunt, stretching it out nicely” you nod, biting your lip as you cup his face and pull him down for a kiss.
The kiss soon turns into a make out session to which you break away from, taking his tongue with you as you suck on it before he licks his fingers and presses them down onto your bundle of nerves.
“SHIT” your eyes roll to the back of your head, feeling every nerve in your body going crazy at how good he’s making you feel. All the hairs standing on end, goosebumps appear.
The tip of his cock pokes at your g-spot and you can quite literally feel him in your stomach at this point.
“Want me to cum inside this pretty little pussy?” he moves his hand from your nub to your stomach “want me to put a baby in here? hm? would you like that sweetheart?” you can’t even muster up a single word to respond to him with. The pleasure is mind blowing and toe curling. You know if things continue like this then you won’t last much longer.
“God i want to knock you up so badly, make me a real daddy” he chuckles “you’re gonna make the best mother. Nothing like mine. You’re gonna care for our child like mine should have” his pace is rendering on animalistic at as the coil twists and twists.
“Gonna watch you glow as you carry our child”
“Yes. Ransom. Fuck” he keeps going “make you my wife some day huh? would you like that? To marry me, be my wife?” all the words that you never expected are leaving his mouth as he grunts and growls, shocking you to your core.
You never imagined him to ever want marriage or kids and yet here you are. Discussing it as he fucks you so good. As he pushes you close to a state of pure ecstasy and pleasure.
“Yes, i want that. I want all of that with you, please, give it to me. Fill me up daddy, give me your cum” he lowers his head, burying it into your neck, kissing and sucking.
“Fuck, i’m gonna cum daddy, make me cum” you whine, reaching your hands around to his back, scratching at it as you let him send you toppling over that cliff for your sweet release.
Your walls flutter around him deliciously, gripping onto his cock and keeping him from leaving you completely.
His thrusts go from fast and rough to slow and hard, he’s close now. You pull his head from your neck so you can look into his eyes as you say “give me your cum baby, make me a mommy” and that’s all he needs to fall.
“Fuck”
“Gonna fucking knock you up”
“Give you a baby”
“My little fucking whore wants to be a mommy huh? Then she’s gonna be a mommy”
“That’s it. Keep squeezing my cock like that sweetheart, milk me”
“Fuckkkkk, i’m cumming”
Soon enough you feel him twitch and spasm inside of you before the warmth of his seed spurts inside of you, painting your walls and doing exactly what you both wanted, filling you up.
“god, that was incredible” he pants, falling down onto the bed, beside you. You both just lay there, trying to take in everything that’s just happened.
Everything you both just said.
“So you want a baby” you speak up, breaking the silence “i do. I never thought i’d ever say that but i do. But i only want one with you, i only want any of that serious shit with you” he turns on his side, you join him.
His thick digits trace their way down your arm and eventually falling onto your waist and resting there.
“I didn’t think you were after all of that?”
“It’s you Y/N. You do this to me. How have you done this to me? I never wanted any of these things before and yet with you, i want it all and nothing else matters except from you. You’re the only person i care about”
“I love you so much Ransom”
“And i love you, more than you know”
You kiss him quickly.
“I guess now this means more sex for us, we won’t make a baby doing it twice a day”
You squeal when he picks you up as he gets off the bed. He carries you over to the bathroom and into the shower.
“You gonna let daddy fill you up again baby?”
You just nod as you feel him slide inside of you, his cock still hard. How is that even possible. Once the shower is turned on and the water cascades over your naked bodies, he pushes you up against the wall. Picking his pace up gradually.
You can’t wait to spend forever with him.

Tumblr media
So there you were. Dressed up in a red and white dress that sparkled under the moonlight, sighing to yourself. This is the most discomfort you’ve felt in a long time, since you never got around to doing anything actually productive besides your part time job.
Though, that part time job did right by you.
You met a boy. A man, perhaps. He seemed scrawny, had gorgeous cornflower blue eyes and the best smile to match it. After your interesting yet ego-wrecking conversation with him, you both exhange numbers and have never gone a day without chatting since.
You arrive at the address he provided you, alarmed by the magnificent house. While he did look rich, you weren’t thinking this rich.
You knock at the door, waiting for a response patiently and a tall ropy guy appears. You were puzzled at his size as he asks for your name. You gladly give it to him and he greets you with warm smile, welcoming you in. The place was gorgeous. Seemingly old but well-polished antiques laid around, and every wall and corner of the house reminded you of the victorian era aesthetic.
All for one boy? You thought to yourself.
“Cool, right?” The ropy man asks. “We haven’t thrown a party in ages.”
“We?” You question.
“Yeah—Me, Allison, Vanya, Klaus, Diego, Five. Which one of those brought you here?” He listed.
“F-Five,” You stutter, soon wondering why Five was the only one named after a number.
The tall man blinked at you, frowning in confusion. “Woah. Holy damn.”
“What?”
“Nothing I just ... I didn’t think the grump would even participate in this party in the first place, let alone have such a stunning woman as his plus one.”
“Haha, we’re just friends but thanks, I’m flattered,” You sniggered, looking around at the dazzling place once more.
“Hey gorilla brain,” You hear a familiar voice call. “She’s a smart one, try not to lower her iq with your presence yeah?”
“Like I said, grump,” He whispers, briskly taking his leave right after. You chuckle at his remark.
Just as soon as he left, the familiar boy approached you, now wearing a suit and tie. He looked professional in it.
“Five!” You exclaim in excitement. “I was wondering if you were going to see me.”
“Of course I would; everyone else in this party were invited by my braindead siblings. You’re all I have,” he looked up at you with his stunning cerulean eyes.
After a few seconds of silence, you soon notice Five frowning as he looked around. “It’s too crowded. Would you like to go somewhere else?”
“Sure,” you chortled. “Use your ‘powers’ or something.”
“If you say so.” He takes you by the waist and a bright light blinded you as you ended up in a smaller room with blue everywhere.
“Wait—wait what—”
“I told you I had powers.”
“Those exist?!” You shrieked. “I—I was just joking I didn’t—”
“Expect that? Yeah. I know, but I’m honestly really not in the mood to explain how it came about so, if you could do me a favor to save it for another day that would be splendid,” Five smiled ever so slightly, and you hated to admit it but it was the same smile he gave you that day that reeled you in.
You both hear ball music from downstairs interrupt the silence that cam after.
“Care to dance?” He held out his hand.
You were stunned by this question as you were when he teleported, as Five has never come off as the gentleman type to you, but maybe that’s because most conversations between the both of you were over the phone.
you roll your eyes as you couldn’t help but smile. “Like you’d really want to dance with me.”
“Why not?”
“Do you even know how to dance? It isn’t like you at all,” you jabbered, folding your arms.
Five bowed quite low, his hand still extending out for your touch. “Try me.”
You bit your lip, shaking your head slightly as you were quite mad at yourself for smiling all this while. You took his hand, and he soon pulled you in by the waist.
You felt as he led you and himself through the music, swaying and moving to every beat. He was surprisingly good at it.
He dipped you, holding you up by your arm as his face was inches away from yours. He pulled you upright again as the music continued on.
The warmth in his arms was intoxicating, if you were being honest. Maybe it’s because you simply haven’t been with a man in a long time but there was something about Five that intrigued you.
“Where’d you learn to dance so well?”
“My dead father decided it was a useful skill to learn as superheroes fighting crime when we were younger.”
He finally let you go after swaying for , the music coming to an end. You hated that you missed the feeling, but you couldn’t help but long for the feeling again.
Five sat down at his bed, sighing as his eyes seemed to look to far lands.
“What’s in that pretty little head of yours?” You chuckle, sitting beside him as your eyes refused to peel itself away from the sight of him.
“Why do you ask so many questions?” He shot back.
“For someone with a seemingly high reputation your patience is comparible to that of a cell.”
He smiled, letting out a short humming sound. “If I told you you would think I’m crazy.”
“I like crazy,” You began, “Why do you think I exchanged numbers with you?”
Five chuckled, but it didn’t last long as his face faded back to melancholy. “I spent forty five years ... alone, in ruins, scrapping for anything that could keep me alive ... I don’t remember how it feels like to be with people anymore. Like, real, talking, breathing people. I don’t know what I’m feeling right now if it’s just ... longing for company or ... whatever that word is ... the one that starts with L?”
You were baffled at first and thought he was pulling some kind of sick joke. However, the look on his face pulled at your heartstrings to beat just a little faster than it should have.
“I don’t want to say it. Words I don’t understand seems so filthy for me to use,” Five explained.
“Then don’t use it,” You proclaim haphazardly. “Let’s just crave for each other’s attention and company, and exchange hugs for the night. Yeah? I don’t know what you’ve been through but if you can teleport here somehow, then anything’s possible right?”
“I ... ”
“Even if it means falling in love without knowing the meaning,” You finish, putting your hand on his.
“You’re so ... pretty,” He says out of the blue, his eyes exploring every corner of your neck up. “I’m sorry, I just—”
“You’re not bad yourself, hargreeves.”
There was a long pause after you both exchange smiles and glances.
“Hey ... you know you’re not alone anymore, right?”
Five looks up. He nods. “I just don’t know how I could waste my time on such a wasteland when there was no meaning to it—I just—”
“Always remind your family of how lonely you’ve been. Always make sure they feel even the smallest ounce of pain you have for each night you’ve shivered in the rubble, just trying to get even a blink’s worth of sleep. You’ll never feel lonely ever again.”
“How could I? I’m with you now, anyway,” He snickered. “You always make me feel at home even if our conversations happen miles apart from each other.”
You held up your arm signaling for a hug, which he gladly takes. You notice is his head inches closer to the crook of your neck, feeling him breathe.
“Oh yeah; I know you want to be an author so I got you this,” Five pulls out a blood red fountain pen that was lined with gold on the edges.
“Is this .... is this real?” You question, unabke to believe the shine in the pen.
“Yeah. Real expensive but I expect nothing in return,” Five hands you a notebook. “I know you wanna test it out.”
Just then, you both noticed how the music soon got too loud for you both sit in peace, so Five blinked to the roof where it was flat.
You test out the gorgeous pen, profusely thanking Five for the extravagant gift. You both glanced up at the sky, questioning how the stars seemed to gleam brighter that night.
“Kiss me once and kiss my twice and kiss me once again ... ”
“Five Hargreeves are you ...?”
“Singing? Wow, how could I?” Five questioned in an overly sarcastic tone.
“That’s an old song.”
“Came to my mind.”
“Out of all the songs ... ”
“I was thinking I would love if it would happen.”
You glance at him, eyebrows raised as your jaw dropped slightly. He smiles charmingly, the type of smile that would get you on your knees but also have you dying from fluffiness.
“You would, wouldn’t you?”
“Don’t pretend you weren’t just looking at my lips.”
You look away from his sea blue eyes, noticing how it’s really started to hypnotize you. “What happens afterwards? What’s the point of this?”
“There’s only one way to find out, isn’t there?” He gently puts a finger to your chin, making you face him again. His face was less than an inch from yours, and you hated how much you wanted it.
You smiled, him finally closing the pesky gap both your lips hated. You could feel the man’s smirk against your lips, and it just made you wrap your arms around his neck.
And finally,
after the longest time in your life,
You felt okay.

I had him right there where I wanted him
3,252 words
Jude Duarte x Cardan Greenbriar
read on ao3
A very big thanks to @yourlocalautisticoverlord for giving me the prompt: Knife Wife Jude teaches Cardan basic self defense (he is very bad at it).
Jude is bored and wants someone to spar with. The only thing stopping her from having a sparring partner is that, Cardan sucks at fighting. Luckily, Jude doesn't mind teaching her husband how to defend himself and Cardan doesn't mind the way Jude teaches him.
-----
Ambiguous time period, could be set during a slightly AU TWK if Cardan and Jude had their shit together and Jude wasn’t exiled or post TQoN with pretty much no changes to canon.
-----
Cardan felt oddly at peace in the training room of the Court of Shadows. He knew he probably shouldn’t, after all he was surrounded by more weapons than he could count and some of the most gifted and terrifying warriors and spies he’d ever met. But one of those warriors was his wife and everyone else had, at one point or another, actively worked to keep alive and on the throne, so perhaps the peace was justified. So, he sat in a chair off to the side, pieces of parchment in his hands that he read through whilst desperately trying to ignore the group of spies that was taking turns sparring each other. He was just flipping a letter over to read the back—because reports on crop growth were so interesting—when a knife flew past his face and thudded in the wall. Ripped from his thoughts, Cardan looked up and towards the person who threw the knife—of course it was Jude, who else would risk even nicking the High King? —and gave her a sardonic glare, daring her to let a second knife already held between her fingers go flying.
“Come on, Cardan! At least try to spar with us!” Her voice rang out as she grinned at him, as if all it took for Cardan to give up was a taunt and a smile (which, to be fair to Jude, usually that was all it took).
“I have important work to do, you know, as High King of Elfhame I actually have to do things.” He held her gaze, shifting from a glare to a equally sarcastic smile, the type of smile that usually made her jut out her chin and glare at him—the smile that usually followed some offhand comment meant to rile her up and preceded Jude muttering something about how insufferable or intolerable or in- something Cardan was before she crashed her lips into his. But here, in the training room, surrounded by people, Cardan was pretty certain she wouldn’t do anything—after all she always seemed off when publicly showing affection. And if they only kissed or hugged when they were alone, it didn’t really bother Cardan, if anything it made moments like these, where he could taunt her like he did back when they were in school—minus the part where she thought he was genuinely trying to kill or main her—all the more fun. So, as Jude glared, obviously trying to come up with some clever retort, Cardan’s smile softened, turning genuine for only a second before he forced himself to focus on the papers sitting in his lap.
“Ah, yes, High King Cardan has to focus on his work, because he’s so important, and does nothing but focus on work…” Jude muttered half formed insults under her breath while walking to rip her knife from the wall. And if someone saw Cardan smiled wider when he heard her, then he would claim that he was just happy that Elfhame was having a good farming season and it had nothing to do with his wife.
-----
Jude was exhausted. The good kind of exhausted, though, where you could feel your muscles work through every movement, growing stronger as you pushed them. Yet, all of her sparring partners were apparently too exhausted to continue training. One by one, over the course of an hour or so everyone had made their way out of the room, first it was the Roach claiming he had somewhere to be, then it was the Bomb claiming she had a meeting with someone— acting like no one knew that someone was the Roach—and then, all too quickly, it was only Cardan and Jude in the room. This would have been a welcome change, if Cardan weren’t more focused on those God damn papers than Jude. She had been trying to get him out of that chair for hours, taunting him and accidentally” losing grip of her weapons and strategically letting them fly past his head in an attempt to break his focus on his work and look up at her instead.
So now she stood in the middle of the room, exhausted and exasperated, trying to think of some way she could get Cardan’s attention. At this point it was less about the way he seemed to have a stick up his ass and wouldn’t interact with anyone else, or her wanting her husband to pay attention to her, or anything like that, Jude was filled with determination and spite, if he would work so hard to not pay attention to her then she would refuse to let him do anything other than focus on her.
She pulled her arm back before swinging it forward, letting the thin throwing knife slip out of her fingers and spin through the air past Cardan’s ear and into the wall behind him, it was the second time she had done this today, but luckily that didn’t mean it surprised Cardan any less. His eyes snapped up to hers before wandering around the room briefly, as if just noticing that they were alone in the training room. His gaze latched onto hers right as she started stalking towards him, Nightfell swinging in one hand, a random dagger in the other.
“What are you up to?” His voice was uneasy, but just barely, his discomfort hiding in the waver his voice had as he ended his question—he was trying to hide his discomfort in the way that only Jude could see through.
She kept walking toward him, stopping an arms-length away before holding the dagger out to him, “Take it.”
Cardan looked at her face, as if searching for a reason for her actions, before gingerly taking the dagger from her left hand.
-----
Cardan held the dagger in his right hand, feeling its weight, trying not to slice a finger on the blade. Jude was certainly up to something, he couldn’t figure out what quite yet, perhaps she was going to make him spar her or perhaps she had snapped and was going to kill him here in the Court of Shadows, tucked away where only a select few people could find his body. However, while Cardan was left wondering what was going to happen, he was pretty certain it was happening because he had been very purposefully ignoring her all afternoon.
“Stand up.” Her chin was jutting out again, and Cardan could see her jaw clench as he took a few seconds before sighing and setting the parchments on the floor and standing, making a show of every action he made.
“So, now are you going to tell me what’s happening?” Something in Jude seemed to momentarily soften as he looked her in the eye plainly, with no pretense or sarcasm, just searching for an answer in her face.
“I’m bored and you’re here and I’m going to spar you,” Her voice made it clear that even if he wanted to ignore her, she wouldn’t make it easy for him.
“Well, my Queen, that would be a wonderful idea if I were a partner worth sparring.” Cardan thought back to days spent attempting to refine what few combat skills he had, forcing himself out of his memories before they could go down a dark path consumed by Balekin’s taunts and servants whipping his back.
“Then, I don’t know, I’ll…” Jude turned on her heel, exasperation coloring her voice as it faded off, “I’ll just have to teach you. I know you can fight a little, so I’ll teach you, I mean it makes sense for you to at least be able to try to protect yourself.”
Cardan once again forced his thoughts away from other lessons he’d been forced into, knowing that he couldn’t hide the discomfort Jude’s words brought on.
“Oh, I don’t mean to—I won’t make you, if you don’t want to, it’s fine, I forgot about all that. It’s okay, Cardan, I’m fine,” Jude stuttered her apology as her mind drifted to the time she hid under a table in Balekin’s house.
Cardan’s heart softened, the realization that despite all of Jude’s rough edges, she’d do anything before hurting someone she loved sunk in as he said words he didn’t know if he’d regret, “No, it’s fine, let’s do this. Teach me to fight, your Majesty.”
-----
Jude nodded, still feeling guilty for forgetting why Cardan didn’t enjoy endless sparring sessions like she did. She quickly pushed those thoughts to the back of her mind, trying to take Cardan’s reassurance, after all he couldn’t lie to her even if he wanted to, so it had to be fine, right?
“Okay, let’s start with defensive positions, then.” Jude approached Cardan, loosely holding Nightfell in her hand before swinging directly towards Cardan’s side, stopping inches away from his arm that did nothing but flinch. Dear God, he really has no self-preservation, no wonder he always got into messes. Jude groaned a little before looking at Cardan and asking, “So, in that scenario do you really just want to lose an arm?”
He shook his head, “Obviously not, but what am I supposed to do? You have a whole sword and I have, what? A tiny knife?”
“You could at least try to block me. Like, here, like this.” Jude moved towards Cardan and lifted his harm and hand to make a motion so that his dagger would intercept the path of her blade. And so, it went on like that, for what felt like years. Jude slowly showing Cardan a motion, working with him until he could do it cleanly, eventually moving on from defensive maneuvers to offensive jabs and slashes. It was progress, however clumsy and unpracticed his movements were, at least it was progress. Jude kept telling herself it was unreasonable to expect Cardan to perfect anything she showed him but something in her ached for him to understand faster, to understand more.
-----
Cardan had been trying to execute the same movement for about fifteen minutes now. Jude kept claiming he was going wrong when he did something wrong with his wrist, right there after you reach out, but he still had no clue as to fix it. And while Cardan could see the merit in knowing how to defend oneself, he did have an entire legion of knights whose sole job was defending him, so he didn’t have to and on top of that he had a wife who was more than happy to ride off into battles for him, so there was really nearly no scenario he’d need to know any of this stuff. The last time he could even think of getting attacked was when Jude held a knife to his throat in Dain’s study—which to be honest, he didn’t exactly mind repeating that event. But alas, despite all the repetition and scolding and sweat, Cardan loved seeing the way Jude’s face lit up whenever he mastered a movement or successfully blocked an attack. Something about Jude just seemed right when she fought, like this was what she was meant to do. Her eyes had a fire in them, and her body moved with a practiced ease that Cardan was only now noticing, when for once he could focus on her and her movements without a threat looming over every action. It was intoxicating, seeing someone so in their element, seeing Jude so clearly doing exactly what she was trained to do, exactly what she loved. Even now, when she wasn’t doing anything other than glaring at his arm—as if that was the solution to his problem—there was something in her that made it clear that she wasn’t actually mad or upset, she was purely focused and full of intent.
Cardan made the same movement for possibly the hundredth time, which elicited a drawn out and dramatic groan from Jude as she threw her head back in exasperation, “I keep telling you, not that, you need to—” Jude groaned again before stepping behind Cardan and reaching around his body to grab his wrist, “You need to do this.” Cardan felt sparks erupt across his skin as her breath hit the back of his neck, trying desperately to focus on the way her hand twisted his wrist and pushed out his arm and not on the way he could feel a ghost of her lips right above his shirt or the way his tail was flicking back and forth, wanting to reach out and around one of her legs, trapping her against him.
After a few repetitions, Jude stepping back, and Cardan didn’t know whether to thank her or beg her to come back. He tried the movement again and this time he thought Jude was going to kill him with the glare she shot at his hand. He tried to shrug, and she groaned again.
“Perhaps this is a signal that we should stop?” Cardan offered, hoping that Jude would take him up on his offer and he could stop pretending like he even knew what scenario he would need use this movement in.
“Perhaps.” Jude echoed, looking lost in her thoughts, no doubt still trying to think of some way she could help fix his issue.
Cardan walked over to a table and placed the dagger he had been using next to a variety of other knives before he was interrupted.
“You know what? No. That’s not happening. I taught you all of this so that we could spar, so before we’re done, we’re going to spar.”
As Cardan turned to face Jude, readying some response about that being unnecessary and there always being tomorrow, he was faced with a fearsome sight, Jude standing just behind him, Nightfell drawn and a blaze in her eyes. His throat bobbed as he reached to pick up the dagger just in time for Jude to make her first strike.
Cardan didn’t know how he blocked it, his arm instinctively reaching out while his wrist twisted so he could stop her blade from slicing his side.
“Of course, now you get it,” Jude’s voice filled the training room as she stepped back, so that they could spar in the middle of the room.
As soon as Cardan reached Jude, he knew he made a mistake. She was relentless, all offense and power and grace, and it felt like all he could do was struggle to hold onto his dagger and hope he wouldn’t get cut.
She swung her sword around in mesmerizing arcs before reaching out to continue her attack, stepping towards Cardan so she could push him away from the center of the room. Cardan knew he should lash out, at the very least he should find a way to move away from exactly where Jude wanted him to be, but he couldn’t find any openings. She was unstoppable, a force of nature pushing against him and forcing him to use every ounce of training he had just to stay in one piece.
As soon as Cardan felt one of his feet hit the wall behind him, he knew he was done for. He was trapped and definitely the worse swordsman—knifeman? —and he knew he couldn’t get out of the reach of Nighfell or block Jude’s attacks forever. Jude’s eyes lit up when she saw Cardan freeze, using the opportunity to let her sword clatter to the floor, take Cardan’s dagger from his hand, and push him against the wall, holding the knife to his throat, all in one maneuver.
Cardan breathed heavily, looking into Jude’s eyes hoping she understood this was him surrendering.
“Come on Cardan, how do you ever expect to win a real fight if you can’t even stop me from unarming you?” Jude’s voice was a little breathless, despite the lack of sweat on her body and the steady heartbeat Cardan could feel through her chest and she pinned him to the wall.
He grinned.
-----
Jude suddenly felt unsure of her victory. Yes, she had a weapon poised in the perfect position for a killing move. Yes, she had him trapped. Yes, she had the upper hand.
But then his hands were on her waist and he gave her one of his stupid smiles, the one that she didn’t know how to respond to, and he whispered, “Come on, love, we both know I’m already winning in this situation.”
Jude forced herself to keep her grip on the dagger, but she knew he could feel her pulse stutter then speed up, and suddenly she didn’t know whether to curse or thank her past self for deciding the best way to beat Cardan was to use her body to trap him against the wall. It felt oddly reminiscent of their first kiss, where she thought she had him exactly where she wanted him, but then he somehow gained all the control. As his hands pulled her even closer—she didn’t even realize that was possible—she resigned herself to losing just this once and let her hand fall down to her side and the dagger slip from her grip.
His lips were on her jaw first, making her head fall back with a groan as he worked his way down her throat. Jude felt a little stupid for letting herself give into Cardan’s charms so easily—was that really all it took? A cocky comment and a touch? –but quickly pushed thoughts of stupidity and regret out of her mind as he took her face in his hands so he could crash their lips together. It was a breathless mess of teeth and lips and tongue, as their hands pulled on each other, trying to get closer, closer. Jude felt like she was making up for that first kiss, where Cardan was drunk, and she was confused, and everything was hiding behind too many falsities and lies to even begin to unravel the truth about either of their feelings. But now—when she had Cardan in her arms and her feelings sorted and a ring on her finger—she felt like this was what that first kiss could have felt like, in some different life where things weren’t as complicated.
All the thoughts of the past were quickly shut out as Cardan flipped them around, so that Jude’s back was against the wall, and lifted her up so that he could kiss her deeper. Jude felt lost in him, she knew she must be doing something, after all Cardan was gasping into her mouth, but she couldn’t take her focus away from Cardan and his hands and his lips long enough to even think about where her hands were. As Cardan pulled his lips from hers, leaving Jude making a rather undignified noise in the back of her throat—a noise she would most definitely deny making if asked about it at a later date—he panted and held a finger to her lips.
“Jude.” Cardan’s voice was rough and low. “Jude, I think someone is coming in.”
As soon as he said the words, Jude could hear voices and nearing steps through the door. She groaned, letting her face fall onto Cardan’s shoulder before unwrapping her legs from around him and walking back to where she had dropped Nightfell. As the door opened to reveal the Bomb and the Roach, Jude turned back to Cardan who had just barely reached the dagger he had been using all afternoon, she grinned dangerously before asking, “Want to spar again?”

Warnings: None really, Sam is just protective
---
       You, Sam, Dean, and Cas all sat in a diner near the motel you were staying at during your upcoming hunt. Sam was typing away at his laptop, not stopping his research on this particularly hard case for a moment. Dean and Cas chattered to each other off and on while Dean practically made love with a huge greasy burger, and you sat and watched people walking by outside of the window. People watching was something you did often when Sam was busy. You usually didn’t get along too well with Dean, so people watching kept you thoroughly entertained for the time being. Conversation between you and Dean wasn’t worth the struggle and inevitable disagreement, and trying to talk to Cas with Dean near him was like trying to get a puppy to listen while someone else was dangling a treat in front of them.
    “You okay?”
Sam asked in almost a whisper. You jolted out of your thoughts, bringing your focus to Sam. You had strained your neck and left shoulder pretty badly fighting off a vampire during your last hunt and Sam kept continuously checking to make sure you were really okay.
    Your heart always jumped at the sight of him. His wide hazel eyes were warm and filled with love and concern.
    “Yes, I was just watching people walk by.”
You responded quickly. Placing a hand on top of his, you smiled as he took it and gave it a soft squeeze before letting go.
    Years ago, Sam had found you half-dead in a witch’s house. He and Dean hadn’t thought twice about saving you. Sam had nursed you back to health himself, and being a stereotypical romantic story of the two of you coming together, you fell in love with him fast and hard. It was almost amusing how surprised and slightly offended Dean had been when you didn’t swoon over his cheesy pickup lines and signature smile once you were up and hunting with them. Your attention was always drawn back to Sam, even in the middle of conversations with Dean. Sam was so soft with you, often reassuring you that you were the only girl he had eyes for, but his mood would quickly change the moment any man tried to take you home. A very protective side of him came out, and they were met with glares and sharp replies as Sam practically carried you away from them.
    “What do ya’ say we go to a bar tonight?” Dean asked abruptly. Apparently, his and Castiel’s conversation had ended, and he glanced eagerly between you and Sam, practically begging you to say yes with his eyes.
    “Why?”
You asked, genuinely confused as to why Dean was inviting you anywhere when the both of you said no more than often.
    “Come on sweetheart, you both need some loosening up. Maybe you won’t be so uptight if we get a few drinks in you.”
    You glared at Dean for a moment. Dean seemed to love throwing that word around, especially because he knew how much it got on your nerves.
    “I’m not uptight.”
You replied before taking a sip of your drink.
    “Then come to the bar with me tonight.”
Dean challenged with a smirk. You took in a deep breath, trying to keep your language in check in such a public environment, but your response was cut short when Sam slammed his laptop shut.
    “First of all, Dean, don’t call her sweetheart. Second of all, she doesn’t have to prove anything to you by going to a sleazy bar just to get hit on by every man in the damn place.”
You held back a laugh, simply taking another drink of your coffee.
    “How about we make her wear a big flashing sign that says ‘Property of Sam Winchester.”
Dean said, shaking his head at his brother.
    “Dean.” You said sternly before Sam could reply. You could see genuine anger igniting in his eyes. “I’ll- Sam and I will both go tonight if it will shut you up for once.”
Dean gave you a delighted smile, then quickly got up from the table.
    “Oh, you are not ready for a night out with me, toots. I’ll get your sign ready.”
    You heard Sam huff angrily as Dean left with Cas following awkwardly behind.
    “Look, I know you don’t like bars that much, but this will shut him up for at least a little while. Plus we’ll be there together, so it’s not like anything bad will happen.”
Sam hummed, acknowledging that he had heard you but still wasn’t very happy about going to the bar.
    “Come on, baby,” you sighed, getting up and kissing him softly on the cheek, “it might be fun, you know?”
    Sam looked at you, his expression softening before he gently kissed you back. He shook his head with a slight chuckle and got up from the table, getting ready to head back to the hotel with you.
    “I just hate how people talk to you when we go out. It makes me uncomfortable, so I can’t even begin to imagine how you feel…” He trailed off, eyeing you for a moment before letting in, “Being around you is always fun, though.”
You quickly replied,
    “You’re damn right it is.”
----
    You had changed into a y/f/c dress that fit you in all the right places, and you stood checking your appearance in the mirror when Sam walked in.
    “Hey, beautiful.”
He greeted you with a smile. You grinned back at him, laughing as he took your hand and slowly spun you in a circle, leading you with the arm that wouldn’t hurt your shoulder. He pulled you back into his arms and peppered your face with kisses, making you melt into a fit of laughter, your heart filled to the brim with love for him.
    “Well hey there, handsome.”
You purred, returning his kisses softly.
    The sweet moment between the two of you was interrupted by the abrupt appearance of Castiel.
    “Sam, Dean sent me to tell you…” he cleared his throat, saying the next few words in a questionable impression of Dean’s voice, “hurry the hell up lovebirds.”
You laughed lightly, responding lightheartedly,
    “Thanks, Cas. Next time can you just knock before you come in though?”
Castiel looked to you and glanced back toward the hotel room door.
    “Oh. Yes… Sorry.” He paused for a moment, watching silently as Sam walked toward the bedside table to grab his phone, then looking back to you. You watched his eyes trail down your figure for a moment, then reconnecting your gaze.
    “That dress is very beautiful on you, Y/n. I’m sure you will get a lot of free drinks tonight.”
    He said. You laughed, thinking back to when Dean had explained the free drinks that kept appearing before you the last time you all had gone to a bar.
    “Thank you Castiel, that’s very sweet of you to say.”
You replied, holding back further laughter at the compliment. Cas nodded, closing the awkward distance between the two of you so you weren’t talking across the room.
    “I could also ease your pain if you would like.”
Cas said, smiling softly.
    “Oh, you don’t have to do that, Cas. It’s just a little bit of a sprain or something, I’m fine though.”
Cas tilted his head at you, expressing his doubt clearly before stating.
    “Y/n, you have obviously been avoiding using your left arm, and you can barely turn your head. Healing you would be more of a convenience than a hindrance to me. You can’t defend yourself in this state.”
You frowned, knowing he was right, and nodded slightly, flinching at the pain that stabbed at your neck when you did.
    Castiel softly placed two fingers on your forehead. You closed your eyes, sighing in relief as the pain nagging at you washed away easily.
    “Is that better?”
He asked, moving his hand to gently press at the muscles in your neck.
    “Yes, thank you so much, Cas. You really didn’t need to use any energy on me, though.”
Cas chuckled, smiling in amusement.
    “Y/n, that isn’t necessarily how healing works, but either way, you are welcome.”
You smiled at him, nodding.
    “You think her shoulder is fine, Cas? Or do you wanna keep rubbing it?”
Sam’s voice interjected sarcastically. Cas’s hand shot away from your shoulder and he looked to Sam quickly.
    “I’m sorry if I offended you, Sam.”
He said without hesitation.
    You laughed, shaking your head at Sam.
    “Cas please go tell Dean we’ll be right there.”
You said softly, gesturing to the neighboring room. Cas nodded, disappearing a short short moment later.
    “Sam, I’m pretty sure Cas means no harm. You don’t have to get so protective with him and Dean.”
Sam let out a small cynical laugh.
    “Y/n, I know my brother. He wouldn’t help you cheat, but I know how he thinks and how he looks at you when he thinks I’m not looking. I absolutely need to be protective of you with him.”
Sam said quickly. You raised an eyebrow at him.
    “Okay fine, but Cas?”
Sam frowned, avoiding eye contact for a moment.
    “Okay maybe it was a little unnecessary. I’m sorry, I just love you and it sounds stupid but I’m always scared someone’s going to steal you from me, or worse, hurt you when I’m not around to protect you.”
You smiled softly at him,
    “Sam, I’ve been beaten and bruised and scratched and bitten by every huge, ugly, smelly, disgusting, and outright dreadful monster you could imagine. Do you think I couldn’t handle some run of the mill horny asshole? Do you really think any man could steal me away? I’m in love with you, Sam. There’s no need to worry about me.”
    Sam walked toward you, giving you a soft kiss.
    “I don’t know what I did to deserve you.”
He said with a soft sigh, pulling you into his arms.
    “You saved my life.”
You replied softly, leaning your head against his chest. Sam held you tighter, kissing the top of your head.
    “No, I think you saved mine.”

warm //Fred Weasley\\
warnings - mentions of death, angst and a lot of it, really like there is nothing here except angst and also Fred dies again. also, I didn’t edit this.  synopsis - you and your husband survive the second wizarding war, but so do some of Voldemort’s old followers, and they are hell bent on revenge.  pairings - muggle!reader x Fred Weasley a/n - so this is based on a dream I had a long while ago and I just needed to get off my chest. I hope y’all enjoy it. Also, sorry, I’m not british and it feels weird typing Mum and not being british so I just used Mom. I apologize. And yes, the first part of this was an actual dream that I had once and it absolutely broke me to pieces. So, here I am sharing it with you so that you can all cry too. You’re welcome.
~~~
You had spent many Christmases with the Weasleys, but this was your first Christmas celebrating as a Weasley.
You twisted the simple copper bands around your fingers, as you always did when you were nervous. Fred Weasley, your husband, reached out to take your hand without even looking at your fidgetiness. He knw you well enough to know when you were nervous.
“You already know everyone here,” he said in a low whisper. “There’s no need to be afraid.”
“I’m not scared of your family!” You told him quietly with a smile before placing your other hand gently over your stomach. “I’m just...nervous about telling them.”
Fred looked over at you as if suddenly remembering that you were expecting your first kid, who would be the second of Molly and Arthur’s grandkids, right after Victoire. He smiled at you and then smiled down at your hand.
“George and Angelina already know, what’s the difference from telling everyone else?”
“Well, let’s think,” you hummed sarcastically, tapping your free hand against your chin. “Oh, right, there’s like a million people in your family and I have a paralyzing fear of public speaking.”
Fred laughed and it sent your stomach rolling like it always did. Your dad had warned you about what would happen after your honeymoon period had ended, how the butterflies might go away, but it had been almost a year and every time Fred smiled, your entire body still burst with joy at the sight of it.
“We’ll just go in and figure it out from there, yeah?” He said, with a side smile and his never fading confidence. You squeezed his hand and smiled back.
“Yeah.”
You sucked in one last calming breath as Fred lifted his hand to knock on the wooden door. It was your final chance at peace before the world decsended into the chaos that was the Weasley-Potter-Granger-Johnson-Delacour-y/l/n family.
Arthur opened the door and barely had time to recognize that it was you and Fred before Molly let out a cry of joy and ran to greet you.
“My dear y/n!” Molly Weasley wrapped you in a tight hug. “How are you? How was Spain? Didn’t run into any trouble I hope?”
“Mom!” Ginny laughed, pulling her mother away from you. “Merlin’s Beard, let her breathe!”
“Hey, Gin,” you whispered as she pulled you in for a short squeeze.
“Hey, sis.”
Ginny escorted you to the dining room where the others were waiting eagerly to greet you. George and Angelina stood back, watching you and Fred with knowing smiles. Hermione let out a squeal of excitement at the sight of you, tossing Ron’s arm from around her shoulders so she could run to embrace you.
Throwing her arms around your neck almost threw you off balance, but Fred was right behind you to keep you steady.
“The house looks amazing,” you said Hermione pulled away. You looked up at the tall ceilings, the crooked paintings on the wall, the charmed knitting needles doing their own thing in a vacant chair. “Just like it always has been.”
Fred snaked an arm around your waist, but not before Hermione and Ginny pulled you away to chat.
“And who is this lovely lady?” Fred asked, walking over to a brunette standing beside Percy. The girl blushed and extended a hand.
“This is my friend, Aubrey,” Percy told, the same level of sobriety as always.
“Friend,” Ginny mouthed to you with air quotes. You laughed, just as easily as you always had.
“Are Bill and Fleur here yet?” You asked. “I haven’t had the chance to get my hands on that baby of theirs.”
“Not yet,” Angelina said as she walked over to join the group of girls. You could see the smirk on her face as she settled in beside you near the fireplace. “You’re going to have to forcibly take Victoire from Bill. He doesn’t like to let her go.”
“She’s gonna be a daddy’s girl I see,” you teased and the girl’s laughed.
“If Bill has anything to say about it,” Ginny added.
Fred and George fell quickly back into their usual antics, leaving you and Angelina to watch with amused smiles from the side.
“So,” you said quietly once the two of you were alone. “When is he asking?”
Angelina sighed.
“He refuses to tell me. Said something about waiting for the right moment.” You rolled your eyes. Fred had said the same thing. “Have you seen the ring?”
“Oh, definitely.”
“What does it look like?”
“I can’t tell you, Ang! It’s a surprise!”
Angelina nudged you gently with her elbow, but not too hard.
“Have you told your parents about...?” She nodded down to your stomach, sure to keep her voice low.
“Of course I did,” you said. “My mom is just excited that her little girl’s all grown up and my dad is hoping for another magical baby.”
“Right. How is your sister doing?”
“She’s good. Out there living her best magical life.” There was only the faintest trace of bitterness in your voice.
Both of your parents were muggles. Your sister ended up being a witch, but you, unfortunately, did not. Still, you and your family had always been exposed to magic, having been family friend’s with Angelina and the rest of the Johnson’s for almost your entire life. It was Angelina who introduced you to the twins when you were nine, Angelina who forced all three of you to hang out until the twins actually started to like you, Angelina who convinced Fred to ask you out, and so, naturally, it was Angelina (and George) who was that first to know about your baby.
“Have you picked out any names yet?” Angelina asked, leaning in even closer. Your eyes sparkled as you looked at her, the very subject making nearly burst with joy. You wanted to tell her, oh how you wanted to tell her, but you and Fred had promised to keep it a secret, even from Angelina and George.
“I can’t say just yet,” you replied. Angelina raised an eyebrow.
Not much later, Bill and Fleur arrived, baby Victoire in her daddy’s arms. You nearly jumped out of your seat with excitement. Bill took one look at your face and nearly hid Victoire behind his wife, who simply laughed. After another long round of greetings, Arthur finally called everyone to the table.
“Our family grows every year,” he said, his eyes beginning to swim with tears. “Each and every one of us has lived through the unimaginable.”
You shifted uncomfortably in your seat, knowing that everyone around you had fought in a war that you didn’t even know was going on. Once again, Fred reached out to grab your hand under the table without even looking at you.
“I am so proud to get to call you my family,” Arthur said, choking up even more. Molly reached up a shaking hand and placed it over his. He looked down at her and she smiled. You pictured yourself there one day, surrounded by an enormous family, full of joy and happiness and memories despite all the pain the world would inevitably throw your way. You looked over at Fred and gave his hand a gentle squeeze.
“We have an announcement,” you said suddenly, smiling as you stood. Angelina immediately blossomed into a grin, while Fred turned white. You looked around at all the expectant faces watching you.
Harry Potter, the Boy Who Lived. His lightning bolt scar had begun to fade in the last year and a half since the Dark Lord was defeated. His glasses were almost always broken, but Hermione had taught Ginny the spell to fix it.
Ron Weasley. No longer was he Harry’s best friend or the last of the Weasley boys. He had made a name for himself. Hunting down dark wizards to every corner of the world, the world was safer with him in it.
Hermione Granger, on her way to becoming the first, and youngest, female Minister of Magic. With all her studying and hard work and dedication, she never lost that childlike twinkle in her eye.
Ginny Weasley, chaser for the Holyhead Harpies. No one could beat her. With an iron grit and nerves of steel, no one could stare her down and make it out on the other side. Yet she was still the kindest person you knew.
Fleur Weasley, a kind and loving woman, despite all the pain she suffered.
Angelina Johnson, a wickedly talented witch and the best friend a girl could ask for.
Percy Weasley, a pain in the arse, but the constant voice of reason.
Bill Weasley, always find the best in every situation, even when things are the most dire.
George Weasley, who never had an end to all the jokes and smiles, even in the darkest of times.
Molly Weasley, who gave everything she had to her kids and kept on giving.
Arthur Weasley, who’s courage and loyalty to his family kept them all alive for this long.
Aubrey....well, you didn’t know her that well, but she had a kind smile and a wicked sense of fashion.
And Fred, your Freddie, who made you laugh even when you wanted to cry, who held your hair back as you violently vomited in the toilet, who would build forts with you in your tiny loft and remind you to water your plants and feed the cat, who was more than willing to give up his joke shop and travel the world with you if that was what you wanted. Your solid rock, your standing place, your hope when the world was nothing but bleak. Your everything.
You looked at each one of their faces and remembered how much you loved them and how grateful you were to have them in your life. And you couldn’t hold your secret in any longer.
“Fred and I are-”
The wall beside you exploded into a million pieces, sending you flying forward. You barely heard Fred scream your name over the sounds of the others shrieking and the ringing in your ears.
You hit the stone ground hard, the air squeezing painfully from your lungs. Your squeezed your eyes shut, praying for the high pitched squeal in your ears to fade. Once it had, all you were left with was screaming. Your eyes refused to open quickly. All you could do was blink. Dust and ash floated around your vision. Bursts of blue and green and red light flew across the room before you could even recognize it.
“Ang!” You heard a voice cry.
“Here!” Someone replied.
You stood as quickly as your trembling legs allowed you to, pulling yourself by the fireplace mantel. All around you, more spells were shot back and forth through the house. You pressed yourself as tightly against the wall as you could manage, hoping to not get hit by anything stray.
“Aubrey!” Percy shouted, grabbing hold of her wrist from between the legs of a fallen chair.
“Go!” Arthur shouted over the cackling of the intruders and the shattering of picture frames. “We’ll find you. Just go!”
With a hiss and a pop, Percy and Aubrey disappeared from your sight. You wished you could Apparate now. But you wouldn’t leave until you found Fred.
Taking in a deep breath as if diving under water, you ducked and rolled into the fireplace where you were hoping it would be a little more safe.
You searched through the chaos with your eyes, afraid to move from your spot, for any sign of your husband. Your heart soared as you thought you saw him, only to realize that it was George pulling Angelina into a tight hug before following in Percy’s footsteps.
You met Angelina’s gaze just before George Apparated them away, her eyes going wide and her lips just beginning to form the shape of your name. Your heart jumped into your throat.
“y/n!” You heard a familiar voice call.
“I’m here!” You weren’t sure how far your voice carried over the sound of mini explosions, or if it was even safe to give away your position at all, but anything was better right now than being alone.
Your heart pounded in your ears as you scanned the dining room for any sign of him, but the dust and the smoke was filling the room rather quickly and it was becoming difficult to see. You could hear someone screaming and for a moment you feared it was Victoire.
The screaming became too much and you covered your ears with your hands, only to discover that it had been you that was screaming, not anyone else. Your voice echoed through the fireplace.
Finally, through the haze Fred came barreling through. You let out a cry of joy, lurching forward at the sight of him, leaving the safety of your hiding place..
“Avada-”
You reached forward with all your might, seeing a smile on his face as he reached out to grab hold of your arm. As soon as his skin met yours, there was a shout from someone else, almost like a warning cry, and your stomach lurched, the familiar feeling of Apparating.
You squeezed your eyes tight, not wanting to watch the world spin out of control around you while you were taken to wherever it was the Fred wanted you to go. You thought of your trip to Spain, of the beautiful countryside where there was no one for miles. In the sleepless nights since you had returned and through the bouts of horrible morning sickness, that countryside was peaceful enough to calm you down.
So, when the spinning sensation stopped and you finally opened your eyes, you were surprised to find yourself standing on those same countryside. Fred quickly pulled his hand from yours as he landed. Before you could even question why he brought you both here, your stomach churned again, but this time, it wasn’t magic. Your baby heavily disagreed with your husband’s quick way of travelling.
After emptying your guts into the grass, you straightened and looked up at the blue sky.
“It’s still so beautiful here, Freddie,” you said, letting your eyes close as the gentle breeze blew through your hair. “But why bring us here? Why not somewhere-”
Your heart dropped into your stomach as you turned around to face him.
He lay on his back, arms out beside him as he stared up at the beautiful sky above him. Only, he wasn’t staring. His eyes weren’t seeing at all.
“Freddie?”
You walked over to him, your heart roaring to life, beating so wildly in your chest, you feared you might explode.
Dropping to the ground beside him, you fought back the water that was rapidly obscuring your vision.
“Freddie.” You reached out to take his hand, only to find him cold as stone. A horrified gasped came from your mouth. Nothing about Fred had ever been cold. He was light and life and everything warm under the sun. His soul burned like a thousand infernos, heating everything in his wake. His heart was a million suns beating in unison, to the same rhythm as yours. Nothing about Fred was ever cold.
Except, now his hands. Now the distant, glazed over look in his eyes. Now the ghost of his last smile etched onto his lips.
Leaning over him, you could have sworn you saw a flash of green reflected in those beautiful brown eyes of his and your mouth fell open in shock.
“Freddie!” You cried, suddenly realizing what exactly had happened. “Fred!”
You took his cold hand in yours, bringing it to your lips. You breathed against his knuckles, hoping to give him some of the warmth that you had left in you.
“Come on,” you whispered, letting his hand fall into your lap as you placed your own hands on his face. “Come on, breathe!”
Your lower jaw began to quiver as tears started to drip down your cheeks.
“You can’t leave me yet,” you whispered to him, curling your body over his. You tucked one arm under his neck, pulling him into your lap. His eyes still did not move and his ghostly smile never wavered. “Don’t leave us.”
But his body was still cold and growing colder with every passing second.
“Help.” Your voice broke, your words drowned out by your owns tears. “Somebody, please, help us.”
Even if you could get your voice above a whisper, there would be no one for miles. This was the place you had wanted to go, the place where you and Fred could be alone and safe from the wizards in the dark cloaks. You had brought the yourself here because Fred didn’t leave his house alive.
Leaning down and pressing your forehead to his chest, you let out a sob and then another one, your fingers curling around his Weasley jumper. The golden ‘G’ darkened from your tears until the entire thing was soaked through.
“I can’t do this alone,” you said, finally lifting your head to look at his face.
“You’re not alone,” whispered the wind. You gasped and sat up straighter, looking around for the voice. There was no one in sight. “I’m right here.”
“Freddie?” You asked, barely trusting the word that left your lips. The wind was silent. You looked back down at Fred, at Fred’s body, and tightened your jaw. You brushed away what remained of your tears.
“I’m getting us home,” you promised him, lifting your hand to shut his eyes. “Just you wait, I’m getting us home.”
~~~
You looked up at the Burrow. Once again, the windows were shattered, the door was broken to splinters, one wall had caved in. You could hear voices from inside, whispering, talking. A laugh rang out. Your heart soared in your chest.
It had been weeks since you saw them last, weeks that you had been carrying Fred’s body behind you. A kindly wizard you had met along the way froze him for you so he wouldn’t decay, which felt awfully morbid, but you were grateful. Your hair was a tangled mess, your face covered in dirt and sweat and sunburnt nearly beyond recognition.
But you had finally made it home.
You weren’t sure you would be able to drag Fred’s body the rest of the way up to the door, but you wouldn’t need to. Before you could take another step, Angelina stepped into view.
For a moment, she just stared at you and you simply stared back. Her eyes didn’t even move to the rolled up carpet where you had hidden Fred’s body behind you. She just stared. And then, as if a gate had suddenly been opened, she came hurtling toward you at full speed.
You let out a single laugh just before she collided with you, pulling you in for the tightest hug she could have given. You were crying again once you were in her arms.
“It’s okay,” she whispered against your hair. “You’re safe.”
Your legs gave out beneath you and she helped you to the ground. Everyone else inside had heard your cry and came filing out one by one until they were all standing around you. You were surprised to see even Charlie was there, the prodigal son returned home.
“Where’s-”
Ginny didn’t even need to finish your question. From the look on your face, they all knew.
“He-” You struggled to keep your words from shaking. Angelina squeezed your hand and helped you onto your feet. “I couldn’t leave him there.”
The words you spoke made Harry take a step backward, the first one to fully put things together. He looked at you and then he looked back at the rug you had been dragging and his face turned white as snow.
Angelina had to keep you upright, one arm wrapped around your waist and the other holding onto your arm.
“I tried,” you said, looking straight toward Molly, who still didn’t fully understand.
“Oh, god,” Ginny breathed and then let out a shuddered gasp as she finally puzzled things out. Harry took her hand and pulled her into a hug and, as soon as he did, she dissolved into tears. One by one, they each began to realize what had happened. You watched in horror as that family slowly began to fall apart. Molly shrieked, falling to her knees and Arthur following after her. Hermione immediately put her arms around Ron to stop him from walking toward the rug that held his brother. Bill stared in wide-eyed horror at his wife, who had turned her body so the baby in her arms wouldn’t be able to see the rug at your feet. Percy was still as stone.
And George, George stared at you and you stared back unable to see anything but your husband’s face.
“George, I’m-”
Before you could even try to apologize, he strode toward you and snatched you out of Angelina’s arms and into his, pulling you in for an even tighter hug. And like that, the two of you finally fell apart.
~~~
You couldn’t stand at his funeral. Your body was still so exhausted from the journey home and from trying to keep the baby inside you alive that your legs would simply no longer hold you upright.
You were glad they had you in a wheelchair. That way, they couldn’t see your knees shake.
Your eyes never dried the entire time. You thought you might have cried every last tear you had in your body the day you returned home, but you apparently had more inside of you.
Aside from your family (and Lee Jordan, who stood beside Angelina), there were so many people you did not recognize. An older woman with glasses and an emerald green dress. A rather large man with bushy hair and a long beard. A blond boy who stood off to the side, away from everyone else. Two boys, one shorter and one taller, holding hands as they both stifled tears.
You wondered how many lives Fred had touched, how many people he had made laugh, that you would never get the privilege of meeting.
Back at the Burrow later that day, you sat next to Molly and Arthur, each of you staring blankly at the floor. You twisted your rings around your fingers, but not out of worry. You slowly pulled them off before turning to Molly.
She looked at you, a stream of tears running from her eyes. With trembling hands, you handed the rings out to her.
“These belong to your family,” you said, chin shaking as you tried to fight back tears. Molly shook her head, eyes closing, but she was unable to say anything.
“Just because you are no longer married to our son, does not make you any less our daughter,” Arthur told you with the only hint of a smile that he could manage. You gasped in shuddered breaths and Molly reached out to pull you into a tight hug.
“I’m pregnant,” you sobbed as you clung to her jumper. She ran her fingernails over your back and you were pretty sure you could feel her smile.
“I know. Fred told me.”
You managed a laugh as you pulled away.
“If it’s a boy, we want to name him Gideon,” you said, wiping your tears with the back of your hand. Molly sucked in a shuddering breath. “Gideon Lee. And if it’s a girl, we want to name her Persephone, but, Percy, for short.”
Somewhere across the living room, Percy Weasley lifted his head. Aubrey was no where to be seen.
“You saved his life at the battle you fought,” you reminded him. Percy’s eyes swam with water. “He never forgot it. This is how we say thank you.”
Percy nodded his head slowly, chewing on the inside of his cheek as he dropped his head back into his hands.
~~~
You had a boy and a girl.
You weren’t prepared for twins, but it didn’t matter.
With so many of his kids moving out to start their own families, Molly prepared a room for you to stay with her and Arthur. Molly dotted on Gideon and Persephone, never wanting to put them down no matter how loudly they cried.
“My twins were the same,” she said, smiling at the memory. Her face never turned sad.
Some days you were perfectly fine. You could look at Persephone’s full head of bright orange hair and Gideon’s hazel eyes and see Fred and smile. And some days, you couldn’t even bare the thought of getting out of bed. But Molly and Arthur never left your side. Angelina and George were over all the time, to take care of you and the help with the kids. You couldn’t look at George for the first few weeks without breaking down completely. He understood.
Bill and Fleur brought Victoire to play with Gideon and Persephone and Bill even let you hold her sometimes. She really was going to grow up to be a daddy’s girl. The others never failed to visit either. Even Charlie would stop by occasionally as the two grew.
Your parents and even your wayward sister enjoyed spending time with them. You had never expected it, but the birth of your children had drawn you closer to your sister. After years of estrangement, the two of you were able to sit side by side and laugh together, as if not a day had gone by since you were ten and had no worries in the world.
You missed Fred’s warmth every single day of your life, but you found his joy in Persephone’s laughter and Gideon’s proficiency for setting things on fire. You remembered what the wind had told you that day, that you were not alone. You were never going to be alone again, and you were grateful for it.
You had spent many Christmases with the Weasleys and now you shared many Christmases as one of them.
~~~
In this life, you had lost Fred after the war. In your life before, you had lost him during it. It was almost as if the universe and all it’s splinters had decided that you and Fred were not to be. You lost every game you played together, but you were willing to lose them all, so long as you got to bask for a few minutes in his light.
Subway Surfing
Summary: When a literal run in changes the course of a day, let alone of a life…
Word Count: little bit over 2.2k
Warning: adorable, fluff and funny
Author Notes: A bit of a birthday surprise for @fallinallincurls - Happy, happy birthday Bre! Big birthday deserves nothing more than the start of a new verse for the hockey boy I forced at you last year. Umm sorry not sorry.
Things have been a lot of not ok around here for a good clip, I’ve been really not ok. It’s been hard. Writing hasn’t come, life has just kept throwing me down and down. Trying to fight the way back up, not easy but I’m trying. This was a nice way to try to get back some of that light. I had been poking at this for a beat, the idea gnawing at me with some pieces written, notes scribbled around, but birthday sparkle helped get it over the finish line. Part two already has some bones, as does part three - but please to bear with me if you will.
Tumblr media
You hate that it’s a Saturday and you’re trekking your way into the office. It’s finally truly fall in the city and it’s a gorgeous day. The last thing you want is to be stuck at your desk behind a computer screen. You want a hot spiked apple cider, a book, a good playlist and your plaid blanket on the grass in Central Park.
It looks like the rest of the city is awake early on this day for the same reason. The subway, which normally is slightly more bearable at this time on a weekend, is the furthest thing from that. It’s packed with people including the grimy, sweat-ladened guy in the chopped-up joggers and crocs who keeps trying to “accidentally” bump and grab you every chance he gets.
The next stop, you try to move but too many people are coming on and off as the doors only quickly open and shut. You just end up jostling as the car jolts in its start. You can’t fall forward. It would land you right into the situation you’re trying to flee. Instead, you try to lean back but you slip. Fully prepared to wipe out, a hand comes gently to steady your elbow while another holds you at your shoulder.
You hear a mish mosh of “careful there” and “are you ok” crossing together as you get back steady on your feet.
“Thanks for saving me for either face planting or landing in that sweaty creep’s grasp,” you say, sliding your bag back securely on your shoulder before turning.
You know those faces. You’ve seen them on billboards and most definitely on TV. Shit, shit and shit. Of course, the two star, absolutely adorable bestie forwards from the New York Islanders have come to your rescue. This would be your luck. At least you pulled yourself somewhat together for this Saturday jaunt to the office. You keep a straight face, smiling normally and not letting anything on.
“Couldn’t let you risk that. He’s been a bit of an ass since he got into the car. We said if he were still acting a fool at next stop, we would jump in. Plotted a rescue mission and everything,” the one explains, hand running through his hair.
“His mission was to cross his arms and give him the eye,” the other mocks, shoving at his friend’s shoulder. “I mean I guess he can look threatening, like a puppy maybe.”
You couldn’t help but laugh. These two are exactly as they’ve seemed in interviews. Mathew and Anthony really are as thick as thieves.
“That sarcastic asshole is Anthony and I’m Mat. We’ll stay close until he leaves, or you need to,” he remarks.
“You don’t have to do that. It’s the subway. That happening unfortunately is just another day that ends in y, you know?” you explain. “I also don’t want to take up more of your time or ruin any of your plans.”
“You deal with that? Often?” Anthony asks, eyes a little wide.
“Welcome to New York,” you shrug. “Not every day thankfully. But it’s often enough.”
“I hope you know, that wasn’t, and we weren’t...” Mat tries to stumble through.
“No, no, no. Totally. I didn’t get that whatsoever,” you respond. “Not that from either of you guys. Promise. It’s sweet to know there are still gentlemen out in this world.”
They both get a little bashful smile across their pretty faces.
“Glad to help,” they practically say in unison which causes you to bark out a laugh.
Time to shoot your shot, you think to yourself. Worse case, it’s a moment you get to have for a fun bar story.
“I think we need to become friends, boys,” you start. “Or at the very least, I owe you a drink for saving me.”
“Yes,” Anthony jumps in, nodding his head with a wide grin. “You should come to brunch with us.”
“If I didn’t have to get to the office I would,” you reply. “Unfortunately, it’s stuff I need done before a Monday morning meeting.”
“Office work on a Saturday? That’s no fun. Play hooky! We can promise a bottomless brunch,” he teases.
“Maybe after though?” Mat chimes in with a soft smile. “Get what you need to done, give you something to look forward to after?”
“I don’t want to ruin whatever plans you’ve had for the day,” you begin before the boys both shake their heads.
“It’s just brunch and shopping to try to get this one to up his style game,” Mat chides while Anthony rolls his eyes.
You bite your lip fighting back yet another giggle. These two, at the very least, would truly make some good friends. You dig around in your tote, finally snatching your card holder.
“Not sure how long I’ll be stuck. I’m hoping only a couple hours. But. If you’re serious. Text or call me,” you say, handing one off to each of them.
They both nod, each pocketing your card as the subway comes to a halt.
“Oh shit, this stop is mine. Thanks again for the soft hands and clutch assist guys,” you wink, dashing away quickly before the doors close.
“What is my life,” you mutter, the boys waiving as the train pulls away. “I need to get to the office.”
“Ok, I think that’s the first time we’ve ever had someone realize who we are in public, without a whole big scene or making a blatant ass grab type pass. We’re keeping her. Plus, you like her,” Anthony teases, shoving at Mat’s shoulder as they hit the sidewalk coming up from the subway.
“I could say the same thing to you Tito,” he snarks back, shoving in return. “You were batting the eyes. I’m not blind.”
“She seems cool and yeah she’s pretty, but I’m not jaw drop like you were when you saw her,” he chirps back. “I was trying to get a rise out of you dude. And it worked, you actually stepped up the game. And now you have her info. Don’t make me text her too. Cause I will.”
You’re just about to settle into your email with a cup of what your office likes to consider coffee when your phone starts buzzing about in quick succession.
“Looks like this is a thing,” you mumble to yourself, lips quirking up into a half smile as you formulate a reply.
“You knew?” Anthony grins over his beer. “From the start?”
You nod, sipping at your cider. You pushed through your work to be able to meet the two downtown at this tiny spot in NoLiTa that was tucked away from the crazy of the neighborhoods it was snug between. It wasn’t as sleek as you thought they’d choose; it was something much more comfortable and lower key.
“Really?” Mat questions.
“Yep. One of you not with the other? I would have had to do double take. I would have noticed, but probably would have questioned. However, the two peas in a pod together? That was a no brainer,” you explain, fighting back a bit of a giggle.
“You didn’t say anything,” Mat replies.
“How many times does that happen and it turn into a thing or a bit of a scene?” you circle the bottom of the cider bottle around on the tabletop. “There was also no point to, either. You were just trying to enjoy the day and you were being super kind keeping me from wiping out. I get it’s New York, so it’s a less likely thing but it still happens.  So, if I could keep it from another one of those moments...”
“Told you Barzy, we’re keeping her,” Anthony taps his beer against yours. “Welcome to the crazy, Evangeline.”
You can’t help but tinge a little pink.
“Well then. If that’s the case, my friends call me Evie,” you smile.
“Evie,” Mat lets the name roll around his tongue.
A couple rounds later, of both beers and darts, you realize how tight the two are and more so, how easily you could become entangled in friendship with them. And you do. Texts and memes and random photos fly back and forth, you all hang when all your schedules align. You’re also fostering relationships with each of them separately too; sharing recipes of things you want to try to bake and longing about the places you miss in Quebec with Anthony while Mat was trying to teach you more about basketball (with little luck) and in turn you trying to expand what he calls music and what actually is music. You also share some of your favorite places in the city that the two really didn’t know about. It was easy with them, together and individually but you were getting a bit more of a tug, a bit of a warmer burn with Mat.
A Saturday morning a few weeks after the afternoon drinking funtivities, you wake up to a few texts, photos really, from the group chat with the boys. First is a pair of tickets and passes to their game that night. Second is two jerseys: a blue Barzal and a white Beauvillier. The third, a text from Mat.
Choose carefully…
We’re also not taking no for an answer. You’re coming. Game and drinks after.
“Oh shit,” you exhale, quickly jumping to your closet.
“Beth?” you call out from your room, tossing through your clothes looking for two specific items. “Please tell me you don’t have plans tonight.”
“Hot date with a bottle of pinot noir and trash tv, why?” she pokes her head into your room.
“Good. You do now. You’re coming with me to the Islanders game tonight,” you mutter, flipping through more hangars.
“Wait excuse me?” she flops down, cross-legged on the end of your bed.
“So, I may have left a tiny detail out from when I told you about the two cute guys who saved me on the subway,” you explain.
“Ok and?” Beth prompts you to continue.
“They’re Islanders…” you trail off.
“What?” she screams tossing one of your throw pillows at you.
“I’m trying to not make a big deal, cause you know. But, at the same time, well you know,” you reply, finally finding the long sleeve you wanted to wear as well as one of your hockey jerseys.
“You need to give me more than this, Evie,” Beth pries.
You lean back against your closet door.
“It was Anthony Beauvillier and Mat Barzal,” you say.
Beth screams and throws another pillow at you.
“You just casually didn’t tell me that you met the damn Calder winner and his like bromance bestie,” she laments. “Evie, what the fuck?”
“This is exactly why,” you sigh. “Like it started out as ok I could have a moment, a cool story to tell. But honestly, they’re two really great guys.”
“You’re not telling me something, I can see it in that wistful look,” she pokes. “Oh god you’re sweet on one of them, aren’t you?”
You shake your head at Beth, not acknowledging the question. Shoving her over a little, you fold the jersey on the bed next to her, so the logo was perfectly visible, but no giveaway of the name on the back or numbers on the sleeves.
Fine if you two summon I guess I must go. I’m bringing Beth, my roommate, so you need to behave. She’s already a pretty big hockey fan so I apologize now in advance for any of her crazy. She’s great but gets excited. Also, easy answer: where’s the Ebs jersey? ;) Or I can always wear this one.
You snap a quick shot of your Dallas Stars jersey.
Mat of course chimes in first.
That’s cold Evie, really cold. And that thing? That’s even worse. Who is on there? Do I wanna know?
Then Anthony.
Non. Non. Non. Why do you even have that jersey!?
“You’ve got that look,” Beth pokes at your thigh. “I’ll leave you be for now. Need to be at the arena what 6? We should leave here at 4:30. Worse case we get there early, we can snag a drink nearby. I don’t trust the train or the subway on a Saturday to be on time. Thanks for bringing me, Roomie. I’m excited and I get to meet these boys of yours.”
I have favorites across the league, you both know I liked the sport well before you two came along. I have the appropriate jerseys for my boys. Well, almost. You guys making me choose is mean af. Rock paper scissors it between you both, whoever wins that’s what I’ll wear.
“Just leave her yours, you know you want to no matter who would win at that little challenge of Evie’s,” Anthony smiles as the text comes through, clapping his friend on the shoulder. “And I know you’d pull shit to do it no matter what. She’s really your girl anyway.”
“What…” Mat starts before Anthony jumps in.
“You know it’s never been like that with her for me, dude. She’s awesome and I’m so glad to have her as a friend,” he replies. “You though? Since moment one, she’s been something else for you. You need to make a move. You’ve got game, I’ve seen it.”
“Evie’s. She’s Evie. There’s more there...” he leans back into his locker.
“More reason to then Barzy,” he volleys back. “Come on, get your shit together. We can drop everything to leave for her on the way out.”
