It was a well-known secret that Jonathan Byers sold Steve Harrington’s photos at cutthroat prices to the students of Hawkins High.

People wanted to get mad at it but a picture of shirtless Steve in tiny green shorts was enough to silence their protests.

Although his buyers ranged from all genders, Jonathan wasn’t surprised at all. Because he, too, was a victim of that Harrington Charm—the very reason he had started collecting every picture of Steve in the first place.

His side business was just a front for him to do so without being harrassed by Tommy H. who, ironically, was one of his regulars.

And why was it a well-known secret?

Well, because Steve had no idea about it.

In a rare sense of solidarity, the whole school had joined forces and done their best to keep their king out of the loop.

(Even Eddie ‘The Freak’ Munson—who loved to run his mouth—seemed to understand the gravity of the situation and managed to keep the secret.)

Jonathan had never enjoyed photography more in his life.

When Steve eventually figured it out, he was surprisingly willing to let Jonathan take more… audacious photos of him.

Suffice to say, the profit had skyrocketed once Jonathan found the right group of customers.

Blah blah blah obviously Kotoko's ableism is shown in how she refers to Mikoto/John and Shidou and Haruka but also it's shown very clearly to us that she's not so different from them.

Breaking, their relationship with their work... They're a pair for a reason, is what I'm saying. Both overwork themself to achieve a sense of fulfillment that they notably don't actually get - at least not for long, they share multiple lyrical similarities, the one about breaking being just one.

Others include: the sentiment of dreaming and protecting dreams (All I did was dream, If it damaged someone's dream to the point of stopping it), newborns/babies (Me, the newborn other you, Newly born “HARROW” “HARROW”). We're not even getting into just general themes such as being a saviour. Something to note, Kotoko seemingly shares a lot more with John than she does Mikoto.

Not much here to say - I've already covered my thoughts in that Shidou and Kotoko are very similar before.

As a quick rundown: both have a theme - either subtle or outright - of the ends justifying the means; they both have a general air of I know what's good for you; they both have religious imagery (though, to be fair, this is quite common in Milgram); they both use being someone's saviour as a mechanism to make themselves feel better; they both have their relationship with a child/children as a central part of their character; and they both dehumanise others (last two points actually not inlucded in the original post)

Anyways, Kotoko says she(?) can't be saved, and then says Shidou is doomed due to his mental health struggles. I don't have anything to add.

Kotoko mirrors Haruka in quite a few ways (Their respective blood incidents, weak and strong as a prevalent theme, ectect) however I'm tired and know if I try dissect it quickly I'll look insane.

ok this has been SITTING in my inbox. I was thinking about drawing something but ive caved and im just gonna talk.

YES. That girl can DANCE and she loves it!! I feel in the 19th and 20th century everyone could do a bit of social dancing because thats just what people did for fun. I think the Parkers and the Watsons both taught their kids to dance 'older' stuff they would have done when they were younger, like a solid waltz, quadrille, two-step, polka, what have you. MJ learned them all with fervor. Pete... learned some of them.

I think MJ and Pete would probably do (east coast) swing most often. Because they are hip and of the times. I think Pete probably would have had MJ and Robbie get to know each other through dance, actually. Like Robbie was around the welfare center when MJ was and Pete immediately was like Yes, now MJ can practice with him and not me (ultimate backfire because how he's got 2 partners)! Harlem is definitely the hot spot for swing, with black Americans engineering the whole thing. MJ was totally ecstatic to have a friend over there to run into who was a ready and willing partner!

I do have to say that MJ is a total back lead when it comes to Peter. They will ARGUE on the floor (in good fun). She'll be like 'do that one move I just taught you!' or 'If you fumble this texas tommy i'll kill you' or 'ok on this next backstep we're doing Charleston... aaand triple step, back step.' And Peter will snark back. Whenever she really wants to piss him off she'll make him practice Balboa (he thinks it looks stupid).

I don’t think having Katelyn testify for the defense would be a good idea tbh, sure she could say good things about Aaron but she could very easily hurt Andrew’s credibility if the prosecution asked about him, I don’t think she’d be a good liar at all

i would hope that if they did ask her about andrew, the defense would strike it as irrelevant because the case isn’t about andrew and she’s there as a character witness for aaron, but then again if aaron’s whole defense is that it was done homicide in defense of andrew then possibly they would have to ask? idrk. she’d be really healthy for aaron’s case but i could see her history with andrew not working in andrew’s favour especially if they’re trying to find a way to discredit him, but katelyn wasn’t there and whatever relationship she has with andrew is surely irrelevant to the night in question specifically

but i also think katelyn is smart and knows what’s best for aaron, she knows how much he loves his brother, so i can’t really see her throwing andrew under the bus intentionally or accidentally (and she’s spent a year watching andrew and aaron trying their hardest to heal and i imagine aaron comes to her with more positive stories about andrew since they started seeing bee) ((not that that really matters))
