ARO EDELGARD!!!!
While I like her with Dorothea I’m also a HUGE FAN of aroace Edie!!! In her paired endings she only has kids with one person (Ferdie) and even her “romance” endings are more like “she and this person enjoyed each other’s company :)” so I’m absolutely here for aro (and aroace) Edie aaaaaaaaa
Arodelgard Acedie,,,,,,,,,, omg,,,,,,,,,, we're all so real for this I love us all so so so much
Do you think Edelgard would be worried about having children because she's worried that they might inherit her crests? That they might suffer in the way she suffered? I imagine it eats her up inside considering what happened to her and her siblings. She'll have a child or children out of obligation to her empire and her Fodlan but if she didn't have that obligation I think she'd just adopt so she can have kids without the worry of them suffering like she did :)
#askbox#mutual tag#razz rambles#I'M STILL NEW TO THE WORLD OF EDELGARD SO I DON'T KNOW THE INS AND OUTS OF HER CHARACTER#I want to learn tho#I want to make up for all the time I missed#I'm imagining edelgard being terrified if/when she finds out she's pregnant and her internal emotions clash with each other#she's so excited to have a child but so horrified that they might die far too soon/be physically weaker#plus there's also the added point of Edelgard herself IS going to die young so her child wouldn't even get to know her well before her deat#and that child is going to have to take up the imperial throne far too early no matter what happens#at the latest: edelgard's own age at the start of the game#at the soonest? still in their single digit ages#there's no winning for edelgard#yes I'm aware that a cure is found depending on her ending but I'm an angst fan hehe

Hello hello! 🙌 Some time ago on blue bird app I saw someone talking about a royal guard Genji x a (what if) royal guard captain Hanzo and would like to give a penny for your thoughts on it? :3c I think the idea is fun and has lots of potential to develop but also potential to create plot holes if not careful 🏃
Thank you and have a nice day!
HEY THERE <3
sooooo i'm not sure if you wanted this to be like a list of headcanons but i got a little excited and wrote a little drabble lmao
I LOVE THIS IDEA!!! like i didn't enjoy questwatch as much as i thought i would tbh but including hanzo and shimadacest in the story just made it so interesting LOL
i think genji would give hanzo so much work just because he knows hanzo wouldn't punish him, it would be hilarious. and the shit genji and tracer would get up to, to queen emily and hanzo's dismay? blizz should've gone with that angle XDDD
anyway, little drabble coming up under the read more, and anon? thank you!!! hope you enjoy <3~
-
Hanzo is but a child when they meet
The King has a nasty habit of taking in unruly children whose parents can’t or won’t care for, and training them to be knights. Genji comes in a scoop of scrawny 8-year-olds about three years after Hanzo himself is handed over by his father, except that Genji’s parents don’t try to get rid of him like Hanzo’s dad did; no, Genji's father was a knight himself and died in the long running war, and his mother, or so the gossip goes, died of heartache upon hearing the news.
At this point Hanzo has made himself a bit of a top dog among the other kids. He’s only 12, but there’s already so many ugly feelings inside him that he pushes and pushes on the training grounds, until when he goes to bed at night he just blanks out. Wakes up the next day and does it all over again. The kids fear him; the knights who train them, love him.
So when Genji arrives full of toothy smiles and snarky responses, they clash. He gets under Hanzo’s skin fast and he enjoys doing it – revels in the looks of wonder the other kids save for him, because he’s the only one who stands up to Hanzo.
It takes less than a week for Hanzo to lash out at him during training. Adults have to step in and push them apart before he beats the younger boy to a pulp. He gets weeks of cleaning duties for punishment and hates Genji even more.
But time does its thing; they learn to get along if only to avoid problems. Hanzo finds that Genji is fun to be around and as they grow older, when he realizes that boys are more than just stinky and prone to fight, he sees beauty in Genji’s smile and a similar desire in the hands that search for him after nightfall.
Genji is his first kiss when he’s 17 and shaking with cold and anxiety.
But they’re not alone, that night. There’s a knight doing safety rounds and he sees them hidden in the forest. It’s nothing more than kissing, but he takes them in and punishment comes hard enough to drive them apart. Hanzo is made knight early and sent to war on the far eastern front; Genji stays to finish his training.
The war is long, merciless, horrifying. Hanzo learns that while boys might enjoy a little spar, men are more destructive than any monster he’s ever encountered. He’s forced to forget Genji because he knows he might never see him again; just hopes they can end this carnage before the younger man is sent to fight alongside him and either has to watch the other die.
Years later, when he returns victorious in spite of everything, one of the few survivors, the King is dead to old age and Queen Emily, a much more benevolent creature than her father, is ruling. Her hand is kind and her smile is easy, and she crowns Hanzo Royal Guard Captain for his merits in the war.
He doesn’t think he deserves it, but when he stands before the crowd and sees the proud joy in Genji’s eyes, he forgets all the horrors and all the time passed fades away, and they’re kids hiding in the woods to experiment love for the first time all over again.
They run off that night to that same place, and Genji tells him they were going to make me Captain if the war never ended when it did and Hanzo says he’s sorry, that he deserves it more than Hanzo does, and Genji laughs and tells him thank you, I didn’t want it, you were born for this.
Hanzo cries when they make love for the first time because he’d forgotten, for years and years, what good feelings were like.
It doesn’t take long for the word to spread out, that the Captain takes one of his knights to bed every night, that this was the whole reason they got separated in their youth. Queen Emily calls them to a private meeting one cold afternoon and Hanzo wants so bad to hold Genji’s hand, he’s terrified that they’ll never make it out of here alive, but they kneel before her with pride and resilience, and she sighs.
Before he died my father told me a story about the two of you, she says gravely. About why he arranged to send you away. It wasn’t because of your love… You should know my father, albeit harsh and strict, had no problem with men like you, or… Women like me.
The Queen seems to blush, bowing her head gently to glance at her own personal guard, a lively brunette who’s far too quick on her feet for anyone’s good, Hanzo has learned since his return.
And the soft tone of this conversation finally clicks. He chances a quick look in Genji’s direction and finds a knowing smirk.
However, she resumes a minute later, the truth is that… Well… Though you weren’t raised together, my father told me you two are actually related. It was a matter of forbidden love between your darling mother, Captain, and your heroic father, Knight Genji. Now, we have no way of knowing how much of this is true, but… You understand his reticence to allow a romantic relationship to bloom between you. Here I am no one to stop love when it’s so clearly written before my eyes. But I thought you deserved to know.
Her words fall flat at Hanzo’s feet; they might be half-brothers, he thinks, but as the Queen herself said, they weren’t raised as such. He feels no fraternal affection towards the man beside him. And life and war have thrown so many horrors towards him that he wants to grab the good and the love while he has them.
Genji as well doesn’t seem at all unnerved by the news. Instead, later that night when they retire to Hanzo’s sleeping quarters, he claims love to his big brother and laughs when Hanzo blushes, and things seem to be just fine.
So in the years that follow, the kingdom of Overland becomes a place where people like Hanzo, Genji, Queen Emily and Tracer, the knight, go to find peace and acceptance. They don’t start new wars and the knights fight to protect the Queen and the goodness that she sows. Hanzo still assists training squires and Genji becomes his right arm on the field.
And together, they’re unstoppable.
#asks#anon#shimadacest#my fics#sorry i went a little off canon here with their origin and relation#i love emily so much btw i wish we could see/read more from her#something something queer chars in ow are just token representation you get the drill#ANYWAY THANKS ANON!!!#royal guard anon ⚔✨

This is my third to last not twilight, hunger games post, bcus i only have two more things to say lmao
THE HUNGER GAMES MOVIES ARE THE MOST FUCKING META THING I HAVE EVER LAID EYES ON AND THE MAKERS HAVE NO FUCKING IDEA THAT THAT IS WHAT THEY’VE CREATED
First of all, by aging all the characters down, it’s not absolutely fucking horrifying anymore. As far as I know (forgive me, I’m bad at math), Amandla Stenberg was 14 when she played Rue, which is a wholeass TWO years older than Rue’s actual 12. You might be wont to say, “two years isn’t that much” but the difference between 12 and 14 is like 6th grade-7th grade to 9th grade-10th grade. It’s middle school vs. high school underclassman.
All the characters being aged up makes it so that when we watch the movie, we are watching grown children/teens kill each other, rather than actual children. That already sanitises the bloodbath and makes the games easier to view as enjoyment.
Second, let’s look at the promotional posters.
Does this look like, “I am a frightened child who is being forced to fight to the death by an authoritarian government” to you? Or does this look like a poster that the Capitol would shoot to show us the hype of the Hunger Games. Does Katniss look like she does not want to be a part of this, or does she look stoic and confident? Cato is the only one in character, and he is brain-washed by the Capitol and ends up dead because the Capitol convinced the districts this was a way to win honour and victory. Even then, in the movie, they took out the way that Cato dies, which I can’t sleep thinking about.
Does this poster say, I have PTSD, and I spent the first two movies locked in a loveless relationship feeling trapped by everything, and moving on to being a sad, traumatised, disposable puppet in the last two by another authoritarian government? Or does it look like a Propo shot by 13.
I think you can figure it out for yourself. I don’t need to explain why the movies are clearly the height of Capitol logic, BUT NEVERTHELESS I SHALL. The story of the Hunger Games is not about RESILIENCE AND POWER. It’s about having no other options. It’s about Gale and all these other teen soldiers realising that they have two options: live as slaves or quite probably die creating a better future. People who go out of their way to break the law in order to survive (Gale’s poaching for ex.) aren’t suicidal. They’re willing to lay down their life because this is the ONLY PATH TOWARDS FREEDOM. Johanna is not walking into the Quarter Quell, axing ppl because she is brave or courageous. She has no other options. The movies aren’t here to give us helplessness turning into a revolution. They’re here to sell us the glamour of what fighting for something can mean. They’re profiting off of these children killing each other, by making them look brave and badass. Height of Capitol once again.
Third, we know how many times they revised the movie to get a lower rating, we know how much they removed and hid. There are so many moments in all the movies where they could show us something clearly, the blood, the guts, the loss of life, but instead they show us weird blurred shots that end as soon as they start. They quite literally sanitised the movie to make more money. They hid the true horror, so that we, the audience, could be the largest demographic possible, and also we could sit there and enjoy it as much as possible. This movie is now, not only aged up, badass-ified, but also nearly completely non-violent.
I have pretty severe anxiety, my friends need to vet the movies I watch because I’m so deeply impacted by violent imagery and scenes, and I’m a Korean American actress who has yet to watch Parasite because all my friends have told me that I’d be crying in therapy for the next year. I am the most delicate piece of garbage in the world and can’t stand to watch human suffering. The Hunger Games was not hard to watch. I never had to look away, bcus there was nothing to look away FROM. They took away all the horrifying bits and just showed us the remainder. It’s a gameshow. Isn’t it exciting! Let’s make bows as memorabilia. Let’s sell posters of each of the tributes looking as cool as possible. HEIGHT OF CAPITOL.
And last, the whole Team Peeta Team Gale thing was REALLY played up by the movie makers. That I feel like is more justifiable, because that has less to do with Capitol directly, but it does reek of star-crossed lovers in the Hunger Games. Just go look at promotional posters for Mockingjay. They’re either of Katniss looking cool as hell, or Katniss looking cool as hell in the middle of Gale and Peeta. Another thing that really bothered me is how they overlayed Finnick talking about being a sex slave since he was 14, and they overlayed that with Gale and Peeta about to die. They took a plot point about pedophilia, and made it the soundtrack to a rescue mission. In the books, Finnick is clearly triggered by presenting all this information, and they have to make sure he’s ok multiple times, but in the movie Sam Claflin looks directly in the camera, sexy as hell, level voice, a little bit of vocal fry, “I’m very sexy and I got sexy information.” It was really gross and disturbing. It genuinely made me very upset. I’m so upset about it, and I’m still processing it, so finding the words to describe why it was so profoundly disturbing is hard, but as a person who has been raped, I was really angered by it. It was a narrative tool for a love triangle rather than a character’s story. It was spectacle, rather than a man who’s been deeply traumatised and abused repeatedly. There is something really fucking slimy and disgusting about how they played that.
At every point in the making of the movies, the movie makers saw the most Capitol option they could take and RAN towards it, arms wide open, ready to embrace ANYTHING if it meant they made more money. There is nothing more deeply indicative of Capitol than that. They made a movie series that could be used as a metaphor itself, and BE the allegory, and they had no fucking idea. Or maybe they did, which would be quite a bit worse.

Goddess(Yandere Mirio)
Posting again because weird internet connection last night ate it...
Pairing: (yandere?) Pro hero! Mirio x Villain? F!reader
Summary: You were once a powerful young hero with a wind quirk. After refusing Endeavor’s proposal, you were blacklisted from the hero community. Having no choice, you begun to work as an assassin. Slitting throats without hesitation as long as it is lucrative. That is when you run into Mirio, your former classmate again. You two were not close friends, although mirio is always friendly. He was ordered to take you down, so you expected a fierce fight. What you did not anticipate is how he invited you to come with him.
Notes: Yeah this is a Mirio take on the “Fairy” concept. I recently recieved a request for this, and I just want to say I am so happy you guys love this stupid little concept. Mirio still have his quirk in this fic, and Sir Night Eye is still alive. Reblogs are comments are greatly appreciated!!
You can also see this contains an pathetic attempt to write Endeavor, but I’m not cut out for that LMAO
Warnings: slight nsfw for hcs, abuse of power(not Mirio), stalking, non-con touching, suicide attempt, drugging
They say the loveliest angels make the cruelest demons, and my darling
You were so beautiful
Before they dragged you into hell.
“You’re going to regret this decision.” That was what Endeavor said when you hand him the resignation with a straight face. However, You do not feel any regret whatsoever. You stayed silent as you began to walk out of that damned office, that courrpted agency. Paying no mind the flame man’s burning gaze on your back.
When you first started at Endeavor’s agency, you were excited. As a fresh UA Graduate, it is unusual for a top hero like Endeavor himself to offer you a position as a sidekick. It almost feels too good to be true. Well, turns out it is.
Used to loose clothing, you were shocked when your boss requested you to change your hero costume to a tight bodysuit. Being the good employee you were, you obeyed without questions. Then there are those little things, how Endeavor seems to favor you over his other subordinates, how he finds excuses to keep you near him at all times, most alarmingly, how he looks at your breasts and hips when he thought you did not notice.
You had doubts, but your boss is the No.1 hero! How can he possibly have sexual desires for a little girl like you? So you choose to ignore those red flags and carried on. Until he cornered you against the office door one day, when you came to report a minor robber you took care of earlier.
That is when you realize how you naïve you were. “Fire and winds, they go well together don’t they? I’m sure a child with those two quirks would be a powerful hero.” “Don’t touch me!” You said, almost screaming. He was pressed to a corner of his office by sudden strong currents, banging on the bookshelf that occupies it. Several books fell off, but he did not seem to bother. Even with his strength Endeavor cannot move forward a step. That pissed off look scares you, but you did allow yourself to flinch despite your trembling hands.
“You have no idea how many woman would die for an oppertunity like this.”
“Then go find them, Sir. Sorry but I will never accept this offer.”
And that is how you ended up as a sellsword, instead of a hero. You work to get paid.
Your friends use to muse about how your impeccable speed would be perfect for an assassin, and that is what you are now. Slithering in the shadows, taking life for gold. Heroes and villains alike commissioned you due to your stealthy quirk and your incredible speed. You would not exactly count yourself as a villain, although the LoV had made offers to you in the past. You walk in that grey area of society, neither good nor bad. After Endeavor blacklisted you, no agency dared to hire you. None of them are willing to evoke his wrath. This is all his plan to make you submit, to accept the position of his compliant trophy wife, his personal baby factory. But you did not give in, even that means rejections and pity from those other heroes. At last when your saving run out, you took up the LoV’s commission offer. The pay is generous, and you were in need. It is a win-win deal. Ever since you have been taking up jobs from both sides as long as the pay is good.
Your fifteen-year-old UA freshman self would never imagine becoming an assassin, but here you are, shaking hands with Kurogiri as you take the rest of the payment. They wanted you to join them, but you politely declined. You liked Toga and Spinner well enough, but some heroic part of you still cannot stand the idea of becoming a villain.
Regardless of being a mercenary, you still have your principles and morals. Aside from those contracts, you never took a life. You would still give up your seat to pregnant and elderly on the train, still picking up trash in parks. After finishing a job, you would hum little melodies as you pull the hood of your sweater over your blood-stained hair, fly home, maybe getting groceries on the way. You are merciful at what you do, always strike one lethal blow so the target would have minimal pain. Life is not easy, but you are certain this is so much better then being trapped in a manor as a housewife. Occasionally, some sketchy bounty hunter would manage to get to you, although you can always outrun them.
Mirio has a problem. It was...about a mission, concerning you.
What lies on his desk, is a detailed file of you. You in the picture were still a hero back then, smiling at the camera. How can Mirio ever forget that sweet smile?
“If I’m not mistaken, (y/n) is your old schoolmate, correct?” “Yes, Sir.” “She has been lending strength to the League of Villains as a mercenary. That makes her a criminal, even though she takes up jobs from the commission as well. We need to get her back to our side, as her winds are strong, we cannot let the villains have that. Endeavor seem to be particularly enthusiastic about this idea, oddly. I think you should be the one to do it. You can pass through anything, even her winds. Find her, bring her back, use force if possible.”
Mirio always wondered what made you leave hero life, now he got the perfect opportunity to ask you! He has not seen you in forever, this could be a little cute reunion! To be perfectly honest to himself, Mirio had a minor crush on you back w in UA. But as students you both just focused on your studies, and he never confessed.
It took him a while to track down your whearabouts, but for Mirio it was not a hard task, as the Commission has your address of the bar you frequented to take up offers.
It was a cold night, you just finished a job in the rural area of Mustafu, cleansing your daggers in a little stream in the woods when he appeared before you. Damn, how did he approach you without the winds noticing?
To Mirio, how you crouch down by the stream, how your black clothes hugs every curve of your body and especially how you focused on washing the bloodstains off your knives were absolutely stunning. You were like the huntress goddess Artemis from the Greek legends, with how the moonlight gently pooling over your frame. It might sound weird, getting turned on by a girl washing her daggers, but Mirio somehow accepts the fact that his juvenile crush has not gone away. On the contrary, it has become stronger, strong enough to be classified as love or obsession.
Now he knows why Endeavor has been so enthusiastic about the idea of capturing you. Mirio can hardly take his eyes off you himself! You were even more breathtaking in your pitch-black assassin attire compare to your hero costume. As he always loves a good mythology story, seeing you like this awaken something in him. A beautiful goddess, through and through.
You are his goddess! How can you taint your hands with blood while you can be worshipped in the temples? Being a mercenary does not suit you.
“Togata, what a surprise.” Seeing your old classmate again, you are more concerned then happy. This is a remote location, far away from any population, and he just sneaked up on you without notice. He laughs as he sees how you work up a defensive wind barrier, knowing it has no effect on permeation. Back in your schooldays he has always been a pain to defeat, since Mirio can even pass through air, your usual push away methods fail on him alone. Thankfully, he cannot fly. “Long time no see. Well, what brings you to this part of town?” Putting away your daggers back into your leather pouch, you managed to put up a polite smile even you dreaded his answer. If he is one of those bounty hunters-
“I came to see you, of course! You are so beautiful in these clothes.” Without warning, Mirio stepped close, the wind barrier does nothing to him. If this has been a normal reunion party, his words might just make you flush a bit. But this is a secluded forest.
Before you can think of a counter strategy, two big strong arms wrapped around your waist, pulling you close towards the grinning blonde. You let out a scream as you try to wiggle out of his grasp, but it was futile. As a ranged combatant with high speed, strength was never your forte, neither is close up combat.
Why are you screaming? Don’t you see how he just want you to be treated well? This life is not for you! You deserve a loving family life, and Mirio is determined to provide that.
“Love, please do not scream. I don’t want to use a gag on you.” When you were distracted by his loving nickname, Mirio quickly slid a pair of quirk cancelling handcuffs on you.
“Let me go! Togata why are you doing this?” You are sure he has taken up the role of a bounty hunter. To your surprise, he released you from his clutches. But you were horrified to find your quirk has been restricted by those damned cuffs.
“Did Endeavor send you? I always know he is a piece of garbage, but you? Who can make my quirk useless?” Slowly backing away, trembling, you knew there is no change you can outrun Lemillion without your winds. Guess that is the end of free life. You rather be dead then be in Endeavor’s home. A quick slit can get the job done.
However, Mirio would never allow you to die. Before you can reach for your blades, he snatched the pouch out of your hands. “Endeavor? No, no. I’m not taking you to him. Don’t hurt yourself, angel.”
A wave of relief wash over you, then you hear Mirio’s words: “I’m taking you home, the commission has ordered me to make sure you don’t make any more deals with villains, and I agree. You deserve a peaceful life.”
Those are the last words you hear before blacking out from a strange, sweet scent. “Sorry to do this, my sweet, but you need to calm down and come home with me.”
As he held your unconscious body in his arms, Mirio promised himself that he will treasure you and give you the treatment you deserve. He finally found his goddess, he is not going to let go, never.
Bonus head canons:
You would wake up in Mirio’s fancy apartment, quirk cancelling collar around your neck, with mirio hugging you from behind in bed. His breath tickles your neck in the most terrifying way.
“Love, you’re finally awake! I was worrying about you overdosing.” That big smile, used to be a sign or reassurance during school days, now is a sight worthy for nightmares.
You would start kicking and screaming, wanting to get away from him.
“Togata let me go!” Your squirms are less then useless without your winds, but you have to try.
“It’s Mirio, lovely. Now how about we get you changed? I got you some pretty lingerie~”
You would shake your head and bite him, which...would result in him getting mad.
“I know it’s not right to use drugs, but you got to understand I did this all for you! That life is too dirty for someone like you, you deserved to be cherished. Lucky for you I am here to tend to all your needs.”
“But I- “ “No buts, sweetness. Now how about you get into one of those pretty outfits and show me how grateful you are? I did spare you that awful mercenary life, after all.”
You were not given a choice. Well, at least he cannot be worse then Endeavor, right? You can only gulp and comply, terrified of the alternative.
“My precious goddess...” He pulls you close, buring his nose in your hair. “I’m going to worship you so well that you forget about everything else.”

SNK 134: Why we need to move forward.
Well...
That's horrifying...
Oh but whatever they are probably bad people in there. Thieves, greedy people, hateful mothers, men who beat their wives , liars, bullies, killers, murderers, rapist, child rapist and racist babies.
Yeah...
This is a rhetoric that has been used for ages and is currently being used in this fandom especially on reddit and 4chan.
The justification of injustice.
When George Floyd was slammed on the ground and died because he couldn't breathe anymore, conservatives and republicans at large ignored the police brutaliy leading up to that.
He was just a cocaine or drug addict who one day pointed a gun at a pregnant lady. So he was a criminal and deserved that.
Of course ignoring the racial segregation that happened from the very legalized slavery hundreds of years ago and how poor and racially stigmatized black people are being in America right now.
When the Uyghurs are being genocided by China, the world blinds itself because China is one the worlds necessary assets in economy as it basically produces a good chunk of what is being used in the world. Most made by children, " but it makes us live "... Apparently that's the only logical reason...
When Palestinians and Israelis are literally killing each other over some complicated non sense that no one ever really understands and also Israël basically doing Apartheid at this point,
When the totality of the Middle East has turned into a warzone because of the United States's violent imperialism,
When most far right or extremist group decided that Islam and Islamic terrorism are the same thing,
When xenophobes and racist always attack immigration,
"If she wasn't wearing that skirt, she probably wouldn't have been raped",
When we have homophobes, transphobes, LGBTphobes, telling us what's natural and always bragging about "\___-_-___/ God, Holy Jesus",
When you have people who tells you that poor people chose their way of living when there are a small percent of billionaires and soon to be trillionaires having such a gigantic amount of wealth,
When 6 millions Jews were genocided which was 40% of Jewish people at the time and 2/3 of European Jews,
When the prime minister of Israël is saying that the Holocaust wasn't Hitler's Idea but Haj Amin al-Husseini, (who was extremely anti semitic, don't get me wrong)who suggested it to him maiking the prime minister a revisionist but at the same time making his actions against Palestinians justified,
When around the world Christianic places of worship are being vandalized,
When entire SYSTEMS of segregations have made societies work,
When the South American continent has been attacked by the United States because of different political beliefs,
When people use their rape as a way to attack other communities of a specific religion or color,
When Black Panthers uses racism against White people because of the story of USA and are being anti semitic but essentializing a whole group,
When Nationalistic Israelis tells you what is a good Jew and what isn't a good Jew,
When dozens of groups have been forced to extinction,
Natives who were being murdered, yeah? YOU DON'T SEE THAT A LOT IN YOUR COWBOY MOVIES ?
When literal "feminist" calls for the destruction of men while they can't educate the kids about what to do and what not to do, OH, can also be transphobic apparently,
When you have entire websites who encourages pedophilia,
And pedophiles killed, left alone and live a life of endless torment while no one does nothing to help them and fight those who encourages it even in the highest places of our society,
Oh and Hollywood, that's all I need to say.
And let's not even talk about animal brutality and the destruction of ecosystems.
And there is more and more and more and more and more and FUCKING MORE,
All that because of reasons, reasons, reasons, reasons,
All stuck in a cycle of hate, violence and discrimination that just never ends.
The selfishness,
The greed,
And at end, everything is meaningless. There is just blood.
This is what this chapter represent the meaningless of it all. How everything goes to shit...
How everyone, whether it's the oppresor or the oppresed, will justify the violence, the injustice.
Society does nothing cause society right now runs for the entitled and the entitled only and creates it's own monsters.
I want to ask those people who defend the rumbling.
After everything we saw in this manga, after what the real world has commited, after how much these real events have inspired this story, how can you say it was the only way ?
After everyone hided Hange valuable informations including Eren who had information about KRUGER who was a spy in MARLEY. Who has created a civil war in Eldia and activated the rumbling while killing Eldian civilians in the way.
After seeing the mental breakdown of Bertolt, who we don't hear about anymore, Annie and Reiner's mental breakdown over GENOCIDING AN ENTIRE GROUP OF PEOPLE, by the way Reiner totally didn't develop another persona at that time to cope with what he was doing, HUH ?
After all the deaths, Carla, Grisha, Dina, Faye Marco, Levi's squad, Ymir, Erwin, Sasha, Hange, Hannes, Floch and many others, how can you go and be like "CHAD EREN, BEING DADDY, FUCKING HIS MEAT WAIFU, PHILOSOPHER FREEDOM SEEKER"
"104th crybabies... xDdDDDD Prfrpfr"
Come on...
This isn't serious at this point.
And for the H character, we're gonna come back for her but...
GODDAMNIT!
THANK YOU, DEATH.
This has sparked debates.
Some are thankful for this speech by the commander.
Others are finding it disingenous.
Others think it's too on the nose and not natural.
Others don't care.
On my part, I enjoy it but I take it with the context. Most of their airships have been destroyed and they are facing their doom upfront right now. It's more of a death plea at this point. Just like in the cave with Histor... GOD IT'S SO HARD SAYING HER NAME... with Historia who said truly horrible things at the point of an imminent death. At that moment, words like this can tell what you really are inside but even that is not enough to have a full picture.
It did have some interesting elements.
It is true, using, raising, breeding hate and shoving problems upon a group will always come bite you up the ass someday.
Marley in their extensive and violent coloniaslistic, imperialiatic behavior towards Eldia creates only weaknesses for them on an international field and create this monstruosity that is right now Eren.
Eren, a soldier who suffer from trauma and PTSD, who has terrible insecurities and everything to lose after losing so much and possibly in my book being influenced by another entity decides to kill them all.
But...
In no way does that justify Eren's actions, in fact it goes against it.
He is just as angry and hateful as they were back then but instead of destroying the system, he decides to genocide.
Essentializing the whole world as your ennemy and problem, and deciding to get rid of it is just continuing what has been started and continued for hundreds of years before.
No one ever thinks about the simple families, the innocent children, the homeless...
What about them Eren ?
What about the people who faced discrimination like Ramzi ?
What about the other groups that are almost extinct just like yours ?
What about the groups that tried to support the Eldians but were considered freaks ? HUH ?
What about the babies and innocent children ?
Isayama is even spelling it out for you this chapter.
Is he not worth it ? To stop all this ?
He was born into this world just like every other baby.
Look at that while everyone, is trying to jump off, their trying to save the baby. Even if it's probably impossible. That's humanity right there.
And... jesus christ...
I literally saw people who said that the mother was dumb to give it to the people because titans were behind them.
I can't even...
Imagine if Eren is the daddy of H's Baby and that he completes the genocide, killing his friends or even persuading them and at the end he is saying you are free to this baby.
So this baby is worth more than this baby ?
He is more legitimate to live than him.
I can't even imagine what the arguments would be like with the Eren stans:
"He's protecting his friends."
While literally challenging them to fight and right now trying to kill them.
"Well, you know the Rumbling is horrible but they got what was coming for them. They did nothing to help Paradise."
While forgetting the complexity of human nature, how banalization of these acts of violence have come to be BECAUSE...
These just like me and you are just simple people. With simple lives and not too much power who can't do anything about it.
Most of the people today sees all the suffering in the world, they just don't have the power, nor the will to go against such complex geo-political conflicts.
Would you be able to just resolve the Israelo-Palestinian conflict ? I don't think so, so shut your ass down with this argument.
These people can't change the world with power that they have and the one that has the power to change that, is killing them right now. BRAVO.
" Well, uh, the child is a child, parents might be racist and uh... child maybe is racist or will become racist..."
God...
Just because someone has done horrible shits or is an horrible shit doesn't mean he should die like this.
Here it is people, how we work as human :
Fuck redemption and possible solutions, let's kill everyone who did something bad.
Y'all would have been perfect during monarchies time.
And like... having an argument on a baby should face genocide is just fucking disgusting.
AND DON'T GIVE ME THE BULLCRAP OF FICTION DOESN'T EQUAL REALITY!
That you are interested into what could bring the Rumbling in terms of thematics and story is fine.
BUT ENDORSING IT ?
Do y'all even hear yourselves sometimes ?
You just sound like every racist, bigoted, fascist and violent person that has ever existed.
You're just excited to see someone die because he commited something wrong, sadistic pricks.
You're no different. Perhaps the guy who was talking to Grisha in chapter 97, who was a Marleyan and gave serums to Eldian is right. When he was talking to Grisha, Isayama use it to break the fourth wall and talk to the readers.
Why do we watch this, all this violence ?
" Because it's fun!"
" People take peace for granted!"
" Of course we're abnormal in society's eyes."
" We wish to exterminate all eldians!"
" Your sister did nothing wrong. Shame she was an Eldian!"
The fun fact is that this guy is a racist fuck but he dies pushed by Kruger and killed by his very own creation: a titan.
Why do people endorse genocide ?
" Because it's justice!"
" They got what was coming for them!"
" Isayama is just showing us that genocide is not really wrong if you just understand the concept of morals. Puritans."
" Humanity can die, they deserve it!"
" I'm sad for Ramzi, he didn't do nothing wrong but you know... maybe he didn't have good ideas about Eldians."
While also saying why children could deserve genocide. \____@-@____/
Of course I found most of these on Reddit and 4chan, the nazi propaganda website. Tumblr is a little free of it.
Babies....
Literally babies...
That remind me of somethin'...
OH YEAH!
QUEER NO MORE.
*put gloves on*
PUUUUUUUSSHH!!! COOOOOOOMMEEE OOONN!!!!
Breathe...
I SEEEEE THE HEAAADDD, IT'S HEREEEEEE!!!!
Natalie, bring the bucket, quick!
Of fuck she shitted on herself a little bit!
_________________________________________
So ?
Y'all like my fanfic ?
It's about how Erehisu is canon and how Historia is actually thinking about Eren right now because she is blushing.
But also about how Historia actually looks good and sexy while being pregnant and how she looks so happy!
She also is a lesbian that turned straight.
I'm so proud of my work.
_________________________________________
In all honesty...
This is... dissapointing and an insult to Historia fans. Why ? What is the purpose or the reason ? Being tragic ? To show how far Historia can go to protect her loved ones ? A female Eren so ?
I always leaned towards the fake pregnancy even if I don't know how something like that could be really pulled. I didn't understand this choice for his storytelling. The others I understand but this one...
O_o
What the fuck ?
So she really is pregnant ? But nothing leading up to it makes sense.
The character whose thematics still rings too much true for this arc is put in the background and as a breeding farm on top of that.
It even came to a point I started people to stop asking about her.
I had faith in her presence in the final arc. That she would have a role play.
But now ?
/\/\/\
For people who don't understand why this aspect of story is wrong, we have to break it down.
First off, Historia one of the first queer characters with Ymir in SNK. Others are suspected but these two are the few that holds a definitive representation as queer.
Most often in media or in real life, LGBT people have been forced into a situation that requires them to fall under heterosexuals lives. Here Historia is forced to be pregnant, yes in a way she agreed because of her people, but at the same time she didn't really want it.
For queer people, like me, this still rings true. Too much true. People literally forces you to go for your opposite sex everytime, to have a family.
No, stop forcing your view of your own life or desire of life on other people.
The fact that the fandom rationalizes that and says that she is happy and in love with Eren is just so fucking weird.
It either is blind ship following, heteronormativity or not understanding the story.
And I saw people saying she might be bisexual. This doesn't change anything. Also ignoring the fact that she hasn't shown any attraction to men other than women in the story.
If she is bisexual, it doesn't change anything, she is still queer. Not semi-straight AND EVEN IF SHE WAS A WOMAN WHO HAPPENED TO BE STRAIGHT, SHE IS STILL FORCED INTO SOMETHING SHE DID NOT WANT.
Bisexual is not semi-straight, semi-gay.
It's bisexual.
Bisexual, Straight and Homosexuality are not the same thing.
And if she was straight, that doesn't make it acceptable. It's just sick.
Just because you're a straight woman doesn't mean you are going to be more happy or have god like duty to have kids.
I just don't understand it...
A manga who was so progressive with his female characters reduces Historia to this.
Imagine...
Just imagine...
Eren is the father. I would shoot myself in the face. A forced straight relationship at the end for the pleasure of shonen readers and heteronormative readers.
" What if I have baby, Eren ?"
" Only if it is from me. I want him to live and have FREEDOM!"
" It's open bar, honey." *saying this after hearing the guy says he's going to genocide which goes against her own values and actions as queen*
Ew... Just ew...
And even worse she wasn't supposed to give birth right now, she was supposed to give birth in a few months.
She could DIE. SHE IS 19. This is dangerous.
Everyone is like this is normal.
THIS IS NOT NORMAL. *sigh*
This goes against what she is supposed to have as a character development.
The fact that she would be okay for genocide while as a queen she reached out to the most weak and in need is fucking incoherent.
No. This doesn't make sense. Even Eren said that Historia's action as a queen were to help others. How could she be okay sitting at her house ? Telling no one about what Eren was going to do ? And becoming a breeding farm ? What is the logic in that ?
Why make it suspicious than ?
The only thing that was able to make any logical sense to me was that the person we are seeing here isn't Historia.
I know if my theory is right, it's sick, even more sick.
The only times we saw Historia after the timeskip was during flashbacks, the reveal at 107 and possibly at the end of 123.
If this is her at the end of 123, I want to ask you why is she all prepared, why is she all dressed up and why is she wearing the same clothes in 134 that she is wearing 107. Something doesn't add up.
She is young, small-petite, blonde and her belly and face are hidden.
I was only able to go through the theory that this is a fake Historia. Than who it is than ?
Well, I searched for female characters who look like her or who could look like Historia right now. From all the characters that we haven't seen coming coming back and that has interacted with Historia, there is only one.
Rico Brzenska.
For those, who don't remember her : She was a Garrison Member who helped Mikasa and Eren during the Trost Arc and also helped Historia while she was exhausted during the Clash of the Titans Arc.
She hasn't appeared ever since the start of the Return to Shiganshina Arc unlike many of the older characters.
She is the only one I see who could pass as Historia I think.
I know this is still sick. But this is the only way I would be able to make Historia get out of this crappy storyline and play some relevance in the story. And if we look at Rico and Historia in 107, they kinda look the same. They have the heart shaped face, they are both small and they both have this sort of closed eyelids.
One line that just stuck with me of Rico was:
"Hiding/Lying about Eren's rampage in the report wouldn't have benefited humanity. "
This was during Eren's trial before joining the Survey Corps. What was discused was when Eren lost control of himself during the Trost Arc and attacked Mikasa.
The second line that struck was the one where she holds Historia who is exhausted in her arms:
"Wow! Who is this girl, is she okay ?"
I don't know why it just pushed that theory. And I kinda believe it now, because no one can make me believe that there is something satisfying coming out of this. Why would she sacrifice herself for Historia ? Well, I don't really know but Rico was always a little wary of Eren, even after the Trost Arc but yeah ultimately for Rico being able to give her own life for Historia. I don't know about that. But with this manga you never now. It is a very dark and twisted theory but this is the only logical thing I can see right now since no answers have been provided.
Monkey is BACK
Zeke is back and like most of us predicted, Eren dragged him with him. And I'm not gonna lie, the way he was attached to the spine was pretty badass.
He is used as a puppet which reinforces the theory for me that all three of them: Eren, Ymir and Zeke are being used by the Attack Titan.
I cannot understand Eren's illogical behavior especially after seeing the train scene where he says he wants them to live long happy lives and than having him kill his friends.
Ymir the first being free and having eyes to returning to having no eyes just like before and Eren.
And Zeke would have never agreed to the Rumbling. And we can't see his eyes either.
And...
Thank you, 104th for existing.
Because...
After how much shit they have gone through and after how much the fandom, not just the Eren stans, have mocked them. Like the fandom has been the biggest asshole to the the Alliance while they were the ones who were able to survive through the sentence " Genocide is wrong!" that so many people seems to find to be so hard to say.
I will root for them until the bitter end, I don't care. They are the one who are fighting. You can call Cringevengers all you want but I am glad they are winning.
They all suffered like Eren but they didn't prioritize their own and only feelings above everything else and they stood by for the values they fought for since they joined the Survey Corps. Even if I have to admit they have, for most of them, conflicted feelings with what they were doing and have done things like trying to talk to Eren while it's obvious he wasn't going to talk and that in a situation like this I don't think someone would try to stop Eren by just talking.
Levi, and it would be foolish to not recognize it, is being consumed by his promise but he is restraining it and still is able to think about the bigger picture.
There's one thing I really like about this is Armin asking Eren:
"Eren... I'll ask you one last time... "What part of you is free" after we rip you out from there... "
Hehe... yes... what part of you is free ?
To be honest, there's many things I don't want for the ending.
A Lelouch Ending, it was all Eren's plan. Literally wouldn't make sense. No one would be questionning his free will and he wouldn't have these weird shits happening to him.
A Code Geass ending, why would Mikasa have to kill Eren, what does that add to her as a character ? More tragedy ? No she doesn't have the scarf, it's pretty telling what place she's at right now.
Eren being the daddy. NO, JUST NO.
Everyone dies, genocide is the right thing. You know all the worst shit that can happen.
But most of all I want important plot points to be explored and moved over because ever since the timeskip, there has been no important plot points out the way. Eren's behavior, Ackertalk, Bertolttalk, Historia's Condition, Paths stuffs, answers!
Whatever... Trust me Peace is not something I take for granted. Being proud of myself and having a life with the least conflict and problem is something you fight for. Having rights, being recognized as a human.
Never lose that, fight for it. But never with injustice, be smarter and stronger. Cause at the end what unites us is not only what we have in common but what the perspective of what we have not in common can make a bigger picture of what we are as humans. We all are different and have a different story with similarities but in the end, we are human and born into this world. And in that, we must move forward. In the present, because of the past and for the future.
We all wish for the problems to go away but if it's for the solutions to be rigged with injustice, it will not work. No one has acheived with genocide and never will.
It's kinda sad that this long of a post has to say this. Did y'all see that ? Pretty inspiring what I wrote. Oh well you know what ? If they can be bigoted why can't I myself.
Here's a song I wrote:
(Fuck everyone and you.
We hate women
There are only 2 genders, the breeder and the breeded.
Everything is degenerate.
We hate brown, Arab and Muslim people.
Genocide is cool
And Hitler was too.)
I know but you know what, at least if they want a spy for Nazi Germany someday. They'll know not to give it to me because I'd laugh at the stupidity of the people just like you and I are doing with the rest of world cause for all the shits it gives us, it's entertaining.

BNHA FIC PROMPTS
A collection of all of the fic ideas from that ask game, as of now. I’ll throw in new ones if i get any and when I remember. Feel free to use any of them, I’d love a link if you did!
with hands to the sky, I beg (what will save us?)
Izuku is a god who asks to be reborn as a human to try and help. He is warned he can’t return to being a god and will join the mortal realm, ever reincarnated. He agrees.
Izuku is a child with faint memories of a life he never lived, who knows too much about the world but not enough about the people around him. He’s not listed as having a quirk but he’s never gotten sick, never been hurt. He scares the other children and the adults don’t like his precocious nature. Inko loves her little miracle.
My Soul is Like a Supernova
Things happen around Izuku. Always have. Everything from earthquakes and villain attacks to miraculous healing and lottery wins. He’s always attracted big events like this - as if even the universe can see how important he is and it warps itself around him.
He sees this as perfectly normal. 1A is begining to notice a stressful pattern.
This one regret of mine
Character study of Inko and how she deeply regrets so many things she’s done in her life, from her husband, to giving up on her carrier, to telling Izuku he couldn’t be a hero and then letting him keep going to UA.
But no matter what she’d never regret her son.
Of souls and lost causes
A good ol’ Izuku sees dead people AU, focused more on his younger years when he’d wander around the city helping as many spirits as he could, only to return home at the end of the day exhausted and dirty to an increasingly worried mother who believed the doctor when he said seeing ghosts as a quirk would be impossible.
my life.your choice
Underground heroics AU (i dont think ive ever posted that au huh): Izuku is the well-known son of japan’s immortal emperor, All for One. Born quirkless, he’s been emotionally abused but violently protected his whole life by his father, his mother killed before his eyes for trying to take him away. He’s never been able to make a choice for himself save for his bodyguard - his childhood friend, Bakugo Katsuki.
Katsuki made a pledge to protect him when they were in kindergarten and he’ll be damned if he breaks it now. And if it takes the two of them joining the resistance, meeting a vigilante by the name of All Might thought long dead and Izuku receiving a near-mythical quirk? Well, that just makes it more exciting, doesn’t it?
I forgot that you existed
Izuku gets hit with a quirk that not only makes people forget him, it prevents them from seeing him as well - all but erasing him from reality for everyone he knows. He can still interact with things but all it manages to do is just UA shut down under fear of villain infiltration. They find Izuku 18 hours later when the quirk wears off - a motion tracking gun trained on his forehead.
certain uncertainties
No one can predict the quirks trapped in One for All or when they’ll show up. Anthology fic of Izuku discovering each of them, some being rather helpful, and at least one piece of merch being sent into a low orbit.
Sometimes goodbye is a second chance
Set in the same universe I wrote console reset in; during the two heroes movie: they never defeat Nine and he slaughters the whole island and his class, leaving Izuku till last. He comes back at the start of their first day on the island and doggedly makes friends with every islander he can because while it hurt seeming them die, it hurt even more knowing he’d never even learnt most of their names.
They win this time the first time they meet him, even if it’s a marathon fight of 8 hours with him and Bakugo doggedly wearing him down. No one dies. Izuku thinks it’s worth dying as many times as he has to to keep the people he loves smiling.
The immortality of the heroic spirit
One of the quirks in One for All is determination: if you have something you desperately want to do, you can’t die - no matter how much blood you lose or home many pieces your body is crushed into - you’ll just heal back to where you were before you died. All Might and Aizawa find this out to horrifying effect during a brutal villain fight they are stuck watching on the news with the rest of a terrified UA.
In hindsight this makes a lot of sense to Izuku. Aizawa wants to scream. All Might has coughed up more blood than is probably healthy and all of 1A bruised hands from where they were clutching each other’s when it got too tense.
Shine on you invincible legacy
Izuku becomes a top 10 hero before hes even out of high school, hitting No.2 the second he graduates and taking No.1 from Hawks literally the next time the ranking is counted. 1A will not stop throwing him parties each time he moves up in the ranking, even if in 3rd year it was every other week. All Might comes to ever one of them.
Shake the Dirt from Your Shoes
Izuku will be a hero and no one will stop him - an AU a fair bit like the beginning of canon except Izuku fights back, remains unending optimistic and maybe engages in a light bit of technically legal vigilantism, accidentally befriending a vast array of heroes and a student or two.
To his horror, they recognise him out of costume as soon as he speaks to them, resulting in a very eventful first day at UA.
do you feel with a heart of steel
Original Sin AU, young Izuku finding feeling emotions difficult and not knowing why. He finds a dying animal on the way home and sits with it, patting it until it passes away. He doesn’t think he feels anything, but his cheeks feel wet.
all you want is milk and honey
Villains have been trying to use Izuku his entire life, much to his annoyance and confusion (I wonder who in his family might make him known to villains? hm). He’s gotten very good at being intimidating, even as a child.
When he gets kidnapped with Bakugo on a primary school field trip he decides to hell with it and breaks out all the stops. Turns out villains don’t tend to want a 10-year-old who can describe in great detail how they would hang you with your own intestines.
Bakugo decides that fuck Izuku being quirkless, he’s kind of amazing.
Even the stars
Izuku dies young and no one but the stars cry for him. They bring him back, but his body is cold and he has a nova burning where his heart should be. A four-year-old who has known death and walked among the stars is a terrifying thing. His skin has a shimmer to it, his eyes look like planets with no visible pupil, and he knows far too much.
The stars still speak to him, and they see everything.
bitter dreams and optimistic nightmares
Bakugo and Izuku grow up good friends, until Izuku is taken by villains age 9.
Bakugo’s determined to be a hero to save Izuku, even if it hurts to be at UA without him.
Izuku hates hurting people but he’s determined to make the most of his horrible situation by leaking information to heroes whenever he can. He’s given to All for One to serve as a lab hand to the doctor when All for One finds out this rag tag outpost of his had been hiding a valuable resource.
They meet at the USJ.
Mind Games for Two Shinsou and Izuku are both gen ed students in the same class, but with Shinsou stubbornly refusing to make friends and Izuku being the vice president they are almost strangers. UA has a no quirkless students policy and Shinsou has accidentally discovered that he student in his class with an analysis quirk, doesn’t, actually, have one. Izuku is aware Shinsou knows. They both want to get into the hero course but are under the impression there is only one spot.
It’s tense.
The Melody Stuck in My Soul
Izuku has an empathy/emotional control quirk that hears other’s emotions like music. He uses this both to read people, to defend himself, and, because hes Izuku, to ramp up his adrenaline/motivation/anger to kick ass. He and Bakugo are friends because baby Bakugo was lowkey impressed Izuku managed to weaponize his tears.
Advantage of the musical element: it gives him something concrete to latch on to and change, and it was very easy to work out which emotions were which. Also he has his own theme song, even if he’s the only one who can hear it.
Disadvantage: He cant turn it off. The stronger the emotion the ‘louder’ the music (it doesn’t cover up natural sounds because its not technically there, you get me?)
Error 404, childhood not found
A Hero’s Son AU, snapshot’s of Izuku’s childhood with No.1 Hero All for One as his abusive father.
Age 4 when his quirk never comes in and All for One abandons all pretences of loving him. Age 6 when he realises his son is intelligent and has a use as a lab assistant for the doctor. Age 8 when Bakugo first realises something is wrong. Age 9 when his father is almost killed by the No.1 villain All Might. Age 9 when he’s made to work in the labs with the doctor.
Age 14 when he meets All Might. Age 15 when he makes it into UA.
Darkness Growing (The Light Ever Smaller)
Villains take over Japan after the current arc, leaving all heroes and students that don’t switch sides on the run. 1A is instantly separated with a few of them being killed, most of the living students with Aizawa and Izuku and Bakugo by themselves, both too stubborn to leave the other.
Aizawa is desperately trying to get to Izuku and Bakugo in an attempt to keep them safe, while the two of them are avoiding Aizawa to keep the rest of their class safe(er), all while avoiding the villains, turncoat heroes and police out to get them. Public support is spotty at best with anyone found ‘harboring a criminal’ given the same punishment as the hero.
Lost soul of last hope
The first wielder has been Izuku’s imaginary friend since he can remember. He’s not very imaginary.
Featuring Izuku with the world’s strangest older brother, Inko coming to the realisation her son can see a ghost, but only one ghost and no one will believe them, Izuku’s quirk being listed as Inko’s because the first wielder can help him fake it, and Izuku wondering why first looks so much like that picture of his father on his mother’s bedside table.
The kids the system failed
100% The 1A run aways au with 1A, Aizawa and Mic being runaways kids of various ages that band together to stay alive and maybe do a little vigilante work on the side.
Izuku has All for One and uses it like you’d expect a traumatised kid to - cautiously at first but when he gets the hang of it there are suddenly no more criminals with quirks in their area, and it looks suspiciously like Uraraka can fly.
Just a second to soon? For the Fic thing?
Aizawa struggles and gets knocked out just before Shigaraki lunges at Tsuyu. She and Izuku are left horribly injured by his quirk with massive facial scarring, and in Tsuyu’s case, the loss of an eye.
Daze
An illusion/fear quirk makes his teachers look like villains and convinces him he’s in danger. They try and stop him without hurting him but it’s difficult considering Izuku is convinced he’s protecting his friends, considering he can only see them broken and bloodied with villains he thought were locked away loaming over them.
Even as Aizawa cuts out his quirk Izuku still tries to shield his friends, snarling ferally.
Morning Glories and Forget-me-nots
A memory quirk of unknown duration hits Izuku, leaving him remembering none of his life. 1A starts to fall apart without one of their pillar’s.
hopeless but not broken
The Long Con au where Izuku asks All Might if he could be a hero without a quirk - he’s really asking if he can stop pretending to be a villain, if he’s worth anything without the quirks he’s been given, if he’s worth something as himself rather than the limited use he can provide. He doesn’t know how to say all of that, so he just asks if he could be a hero.
All Might says no. And Izuku basically decides right then that the only way he’ll ever be able to help people is by being a mole for the heroes like he’s been since he was 10 - that he isn’t worth anything because he’s quirkless and to be considered just as valuable as the people around him are he needs to give his life and more.
He shows up to the bar crying because of All Might and Shigaraki moves his murder plot forward a few months.
Sunflowers and Summer Gardens
All Might starts a garden on campus and 1A like to help. He uses it as a nice place to chill and as physical therapy. He likes to give the different classes bunches of flowers when they sprout.
For Dos and For Donts
Izuku runs into some of his old bullies when out with some of his friends. Uraraka, Iida, Todoroki, Shinsou and Asui intimidate the fuck out of them, and Izuku realises hes not scared of them any more. Then they get frozen yoghurt!
your mistakes, my unbecoming
Aizawa assigns a project on quirk related issues, Izuku ends up with quirkless discrimination, Aizawa assumes his discomfort is just him being upset he doesn’t get to talk about quirks. He doesn’t realise his mistake until he finds Izuku dissociating on the roof.
one and one into the vast
Original Sin AU, All for One and Izuku seeing the vestiges together. One for All sees his brother for the first time and Izuku learns a lot about the voice in his head.
All for One has a mini-crisis about his not son learning he’s a horrific villain, especially considering he has the power to cast his soul out at any time, killing him at will. Izuku doesn’t kill him. He admits its probably not right of him to let AfO remain considering the things he’s done, but All for One is a part of him now and it would be like killing a friend.
All for One quietly decides to hold off on the villainy until all of 1A is dead, for Izuku’s sake.
between the stars of our souls
Izuku and All Might are old gods who keep getting reborn into human forms with their memories regained when they turn 4. Normally finding each other takes a while, and their last reincarnation they never found each other, so this time he resolves to make himself as easy to find as possible, all while saving as many people as he can.
Izuku, aged 4, memories fresh in his head, makes it his mission to get into contact with the man he knows is his father/mentor’s reincarnation. All Might’s agency was not expecting a 4 year old to repeatedly try breaking in to their office, and they especially weren’t expecting him to be so good at it.
you really should have thought this through
Different (and ill-advised) attempts at special moves or team up combo moves. Featuring:
Izuku managing to break Kirishima’s nose.
Uraraka sending Bakugo so high he broke the sound barrier coming back down to earth.
Kaminari and Shouto managing to electrify ice.
Izuku, Todoroki and Bakugo levelling a whole suburb (at least it was condemned???)
I'll Break Anything You Give Me
Different times Izuku desperately tried to repair his relationship with Izuku over the years and the one time Bakugo fully grasps how much he fucked up and reaches out his hand to try to fix it for the first time. Probably includes a lot of screaming, Bakugo learning how to say sorry, a field trip and them having a conversation on Aldera’s roof.
Sinking
One for All kind of possesses Izuku during a quiet night at the dorms. One for All, made of 8 people, 7 of which are dead and had their last experiences in life be rather painful and violent, breaks down, Izuku alone not enough to drown them out. They lash out at anyone who tries to touch them, their quirks tearing Izuku’s body apart.
All Might’s vestige reaches out a hand to Izuku to keep his mind from being torn apart as 1A set about both trying to protect Izuku and get Aizawa who was off campus on patrol.
Feat. Bakugo and All Might being the only people with any idea about what’s going on and getting more and more stressed each second that passes. Iida, Uraraka and Todoroki being good heroes and even better friends. Blood King deciding he’s never watching 1A for Aizawa again, and Aizawa deciding he’s never leaving 1A alone ever again.
A Long Way From Home
Shirakumo wakes up in Kurogiri’s body in Tartarus with only shadowed memories of his time as a villain. He’s scared and alone and he just wants to see his friends again, even if he’s scared they hate him because at least that’s something he knows.
Too Far Gone
The other side AU, it comes out Izuku is a villain with (knockoff) All for One and he has a showdown with Mirio. He and Izuku trained together under All Might and Mirio tries to plead with him but Izuku has to basically tell him to go to hell to not ruin his placet as crown prince of the underworld.
Of course, he’s not only doing this to save people, he’s also doing it with All Might’s blessing - taking over from All Might himself serving as a villain after he killed All for One to prevent a power vacuum.
Doesn’t mean that his friends in 1A know that.
Snowy hills and sunlit peaks
Probably an AU about All Might being a mountain spirit with a little shrine that Izuku is the only one who visits - Izuku gets in trouble and All Might manifests himself, saves him, and tells everyone to keep their hands off his human son.
Wilting
Izuku gets sick and he tries to hide it because he’s scared its something serious but he just gets worse and worse. His friends are the ones who eventually step in and comfort him.
I’d probably write two endings with one being a bad end and the other a good end.
My wish came true without me realising
Izuku wakes up one morning, comes downstairs and just starts crying. Everyone panics and he reassures them they are happy tears and that he's just glad to be here. They all call him sappy and give him a hug. Later in the day he and Bakugo chat and Izuku reveals he never even expected to live this long, let alone become a hero. Bakugo grumbles that he’s too stubborn to die, and not to get too cocky. Izuku promises he wont.

You Will Be Found (Amphibia x Oc)
Chapter 1- Anne or Jean? All was quiet in the small town of Wartwood. It was early morning, and Flossie Harveston, an albino axolotl with red hair, sighed as she awaited her mother. Her mother Pebbles, a hard working Newt, was inside one of the shops selling her stock. The young axolotl groaned, leaning over the wagon sides as her snail, Boris, chewed at the grass. All of a sudden, her ears perked up when Wally Ribbiton, the towns local crazy frog, burst out of the bushes screaming. “Monster! Th-there’s a monster in the woods! I seen it! I seen it!” He shrieked. Flossie tilted her head in curiosity. “A monster?” She wondered. After Mayor Toadstool got the hysterical frog to calm down, Wally began to describe its appearance. “It was horrifying! It had a huge head, a weird, stubby bump right in the middle of its face and long spindly limbs!” Everyone gasped, while Flossie’s eyes widened in excitement. “A monster? Maybe I could hunt it! Then I will finally be liked!” She smirked to herself, getting ready to jump off the wagon. “Ehem.” Floss turned to her mother, who gave her a disapproving look. “Oh! Mum! H-how long have you been there?” She chuckled nervously. “Long enough.” Pebbs replied, placing the things she didn’t sell into the wagon. “And YOU, young lady, are not going monster hunting. Leave that to the townsfolk. We’re just here for our monthly visit.” She stated. Flossie huffed in defeat, sitting back down. “Now we best get home. We don’t want that monster to find us. Who knows what it can do.” With that, she ordered Boris forward. The snail let out a coo, before moving forward. Travelling through the woods, the two amphibians were mostly silent. Pebbs hummed to herself, and her daughter hung over the side of the wagon, observing the ground as it rolled by. Bored out of her mind, she almost missed the strange foot-prints in the ground. “Wait mum stop!” Pebbs pulled on the reins. “What is it?! Did we forget something?!” She turned around, only to find the Axolotl child gone. “Flossie? FLOSS?!” She shrieked. Flossie rushed through the woods, following the odd foot-prints. The axolotl paused by a tree, panting for breath. “Geez, I didn’t realise it’d be this far.” She muttered to herself. A loud groan sounded from up ahead. Floss held her breath. Stepping forward cautiously, she peeked out from over a log. A large, gangly creature with spindly arms sat a few feet away. Its back was to her, and all the young axolotl could see was the brown hair tied in a ponytail. She let out a quiet gasp. “The monster!” The “monster” spun around, having heard the axolotl. “Who’s there!?” It yelled. Flossie shrunk behind the log, covering her mouth with her hands. “Flossie, you idiot!” She hissed. Hearing a yelp of pain, she peeked back over the log. The monster was leaning against a tree, holding its leg. Its face was scrunched in pain as it searched the surrounding forest in fear for any sign of life. Flossie’s eyes widened when she noticed the blood covering the monsters hand. Leaning back on the log, Flossie’s brows furrowed. “What do I do? I could just kill it and be a hero. Maybe then the toads will stop bullying me. But…” peeking back over, she looked at the monster one last time. The beast that obviously wasn’t just a monster, but a living, feeling, and hurt creature. Flossie clenched her fists, determination and fear coursing through her. “Alright Flossie, you can do this! Or you could possibly die either one!” Stepping out from behind the log, Flossie, gave a little wave as the creature turned to face her. “Hi! I-i’m-“ She was abruptly cut off, ducking as the beast lifted a stick from the ground and threw it in her direction. “Stay away! You-weird-strange-lizard-thing!” It pointed accusingly at her, backing up. Unfortunately, it tripped over a tree root, falling over as it let out a loud “OOF!” Flossie gasped. “Oh my frog! I’m so sorry for scaring you!” She rushed over, extending a hand. “Here! Let me help you!” She smiled reassuringly. The creature looked up at her, allowing the girl to help her. Flossie grinned as she looked up at the creature now towering over her. “I’m Flossie Harveston! What’s your name?” The monster stared at her warily. “Jean. Jean Goodman.” She replied bluntly. Flossie jumped up and down on the spot. “Are you that monster Wally was talking about?! You…” she put a hand to her chin, seeming to realise something. “…kinda…look like his description, save for the huge head.” There was an awkward silence between the two. Jean glanced at Flossie’s belt. “You’re…not gonna attempt to kill me, are you?” She questioned suspiciously, pointing to the small dagger. The young axolotl shook her head. “Oh no! Of course not! This is just my harvesting dagger!” She stated, pulling the dagger from its sheath and waving it around, much to Jean’s discomfort. “It’s completely harmless!” At that, the amphibian accidentally dropped the knife. It dug into a log, cutting it open as dozens of bugs crawled out. “Ooh! Jackpot!” She squealed, picking up the bugs. Jean glanced down at her in disgust. “Ok…uh, do you know some caves nearby that I can stay in?” Flossie nodded eagerly, trying to hold as many bugs as she could as she pointed in another direction. “A couple of miles that way! Shouldn’t be hard to miss!” She said cheerily. Jean hummed in response, limping away. “Thanks kid.” Flossie watched her go, a look of concern covering her features. “So what happened to your leg?” She asked curiously. Jean stopped, remembering the incident. “Got attacked by this massive bug. Got me in the leg as I ran off. Cowardly, I know.” She muttered. Flossie was concerned. “No, it was a good thing! If it was a Mantis it would’ve eaten you alive! You need to get your wound checked. We don’t want it infected, in case we have to amputate it.” Jean shook her head in confusion. “We?” “Yeah! C’mon, I can take you back home! My mum might be able to help!” She cheered. Grabbing Jean’s hand, she led her through the woods. The tall girl pulled her hand from the axolotl’s grip. “Oh no, I’m not going with you. You’ll probably hand me over to be dissected or something.” Her eyes narrowed as she stared down at the amphibian. The said amphibian looked up at her with innocent, worried eyes. “Why would I hand you over to anyone? I can see you’re no monster. You’re just scared and lost! Here! If it makes you feel any better-“ the axolotl cleared her throat, placing a hand over her heart. “I swear by King Andrias that I will not hand you over to someone who can hurt you! There! Now do you trust me?” She grinned, holding out a hand. Jean hesitated for a moment, before gently taking her hand. “Alright…you better not go back on it.” She muttered, as she allowed Flossie to lead her through the woods towards her wagon. “FLOSSIE! COME BACK THIS INSTANT! FLOSSIE!” Pebbs stopped yelling for a moment, panting for breath. “Frog dangit Flossie-“ “Mum! There’s someone I want you to meet!” Pebbs turned to the voice. Flossie was walking out of the woods, helping a horrible beast over a log. “FLOSSIE! GET AWAY FROM THAT THING!” She screeched, reaching into the back and pulling out a cane. Flossie waved her hands around frantically. “Wait, no! Mum! She’s a friend! And she needs help!” She tried calming her mother down, gesturing to Jean’s leg. Pebbs stared down at the beast, but didn’t lower her cane. Flossie sighed. “Mum, she’s hurt and all alone. I couldn’t leave her out there! She’ll die if we don’t help her.” Pebbs frowned, lowering the cane to her side. “Floss, darl, you’ve only been gone ten minutes. You don’t know it. For all we know Wally could be right! It could be tricking you so it can eat us!” She said sternly, not taking her eyes away from the creature. Jean sighed. “That’s fine. I know when I’m not wanted. I’ll be on my way.” She muttered. She started walking away, as Flossie stared after her. Pebbs felt a pang of guilt as she watched the strange creature walking away. Glancing down at Flossie’s heart-broken expression, she sighed angrily to herself. “I’m gonna regret this, aren’t I?” She muttered. Jean was almost out of view when she heard a voice call out to her. Looking over her shoulder, she realised it was the Newt. “Do you need a place to stay?” She asked. Jean raised an eyebrow. Flossie was smiling widely, her eyes filled with happiness as she rushed over to Jean. “YOU GET TO COME WITH US! YES YES YES!” She squealed. Dragging poor Jean toward the wagon, the creature had no choice but climb into the wagon, a fair bit away from Pebbs and her cane. Jean held her knees to her chest as Floss jumped in her seat. “This is so exciting! Can I ask questions now? 21 questions! First off, what are you and where did you come from? We’ve never seen anything like you before!” Jean leaned away from the excited Axolotl. “Uh…well, I’m a human, and I’ve come from another world. Don’t know how, just woke up here.” She explained. Pebbs listened to the creature’s story, her face scrunched up in thought. Flossie gasped. “Another world?! Is there magic?!” She squeaked. As Jean was about to reply, the wagon stopped. “Well, we’re here. Welcome to the Harveston’s cabin.” Pebbs stated. The cabin stood in the middle of a small clearing. The amphibians hopped off the wagon, followed by Jean. “You can sleep in the spare room. It has a window and we can put a mattress down if you want.” Pebbs said, heading toward the small house. The human was surprised by the newts sudden change of attitude. It almost frightened her how barely ten minutes ago she wanted to hit her with a cane. Jean was now in the guest room of the Harveston’s home, looking around at her new surroundings. The room was small and mostly bare, with a mattress now taking up one of the corners. A desk sat near the window, while a wardrobe took up the left side of the room. Sighing, she took off her jacket. “Guess this is where I’ll be sleeping from now on.” She muttered. Hearing a knock at the door, she turned to find Flossie holding a book. “Haha, thought I’d give you one of my books to read, might learn about our world a bit better?” She asked shyly, holding out the book. Jean raised a brow, surprised. “Oh…thank you.” She answered, taking the book and reading the title, ‘Land of Amphibia: A Polliwog Guide’. A small smile made its way to her face. “That’s…very considerate of you.” Flossie beamed. “No problem, Jean! Well, goodnight!” She waved, making her way out the door. Watching her go, Jean’s smile never left her face. Reaching into her pocket, she pulled out a photo. It was of Anne Booncuy, Sasha Waybright and Marcy Wu, her adopted siblings. Smile falling, Jean felt a lump form in her throat. “I’m gonna find you guys, if your ARE here….” She mumbled, sitting down on the mattress. A/N: first chapter? might redo it as i go. i’ll be writing most of the chapters before i eventually post them, so think of this as a preview?

Dear (y/n):
Hello, we hope that you are doing well!
It has been a while since you last visited the ranch and many things had happened. Don’t worry, the large fields at the front of the house that you used to love running through is still here and Henry the chicken is still well and alive. All the animals are doing great in face and the crops are growing as nicely as ever.
Everything is going fine but we are growing old and we feel like it is harder and harder for us to carry on with the chores of running the farm as each day goes by. A month after we write this letter to you, we would be retired from all the work and set off on a trip across the world to all the places we have wanted to visit but never had the time to.
It was a tough decision but after thinking of the many possibilities together, we decided that this is for the best. The only thing left for us to handle is the future of the ranch. We thought about selling it but after spending so much effort and such a long time on these grounds, it pains us to think that this place that is so tied in to many of our wonderful memories would be gone.
While being on the phone with your mom, she told us that you were starting to feel tried of your life in the city and the stress is starting to weight on you. Although we get that this is a huge decision, but how would you feel about taking over the ranch after we retire? You used to like being around the farm so much and even though running it on your own might be tough work, we feel like the farm would be safe in your hands. We know that this is a lot to ask of you, but we support whatever decision you make and we hope to hear from you soon.
Take care of yourself, a healthy body is the greatest asset you will ever have. Don’t forget to go to bed early and drink enough water!
Love,
Grandma and grandpa
Folding the letter in half along the neat edges that you had opened and folded back together for countless times, you put it back into your bag and sighed. You had been on the bus for what felt like an entire lifetime but you were still nowhere near your destination. There was nothing to see when you looked out of the window, just endless trees and greenery that didn’t seem to have a stop to it. The car went smoothly ahead on the road, with occasional bumps and turns as you got further and further away from the city.
The city. It had yet to settle in your mind completely that you were actually leaving that place. Not a vacation, not a trip that you had to go back from. You were leaving, and there was no turning back. You could still see the concrete walls and the busy streets at the start of the ride, but the plain view of nothing but green from where you were now was a huge contrast for what you were still living amongst merely hours ago.
The city was bustling and filled with adventures around every corner but in all honesty, you were tired of it. Your apartment was a box and the cubicle you spent most of your time in was no better. Always going from one place to another, with no purpose but to make ends meet. You wouldn’t not die without your job but you did not want it either. You were not alive but you simply weren’t dead either. It was boring, and the last bit of passion inside of you kept screaming at you to break out of the cycle that you were trapped in but you simply did not know how.
That was when the letter came and it was like seeing a ray of light shining through the windows of your 80 sqm apartment. Your initial reaction when you held the envelope in your hand was to just stand there in shock. You could not believe that your grandparents were finally retiring. From what you remembered, it was like they had more energy and liveliness than everyone of your family who were way younger than them. It was a true call from reality to think that they were getting old too. You also thought of the ranch that they pour their heart and soul into managing. You remembered how you used to beg them to let you help with the work around the farm whenever you visited them as a child.
It had been way too long since you had been around the fields. You still remembered the feeling of being covered in sweat and dirt but still got back to the house with nothing but satisfaction in your chest. The smell of grass in the morning as you rode on the back of a horse and the things you had learnt through taking care of all the animals still fresh in your head.
That was how you took probably the biggest risk in your life and say yes to their offer. Now you were on the bus to Yuuei Town, days after you quitted your job and headed for a new start in somewhere you had never been to since you were still in middle school.
It was horrifying to think of to say the least. But you had made your decision and there was no turning back. This was your one chance of getting a whole new life and you would be damned if you didn’t take it. Many things could happen, and a lot of them were far from being good, but you were excited for your new beginning.
The sudden break of the car let out a sharp squeak from the tires and your body fell forward as it hit a stop. You looked out to see that you were no longer surrounded by trees but under the open sky, the tiny sign of the bus stop being the only thing man-made you had seen in a while.
“Yuuei Town”
Quickly getting your many luggage and your bags, you got off the bus and took a deep breath. Cold air filled your lungs and you felt alive once again. It had been too long since you had last gone anywhere remotely rural, even the air felt different. You did not quite remember which way was the correct one to your grandparent’s- well, perhaps you should call it your ranch from now on but you still tried your best to go on the right road with the little instruction that you were given.
You weren’t sure if they had renovated the roads or your childhood memories had betrayed you, but it took way longer than what you expected and a lot of going back after realising that you made the wrong turn for you to finally get to where you were supposed to be.
It brought you a sense of comfort to see that the ranch was still the same as what you remembered it as. The farmhouse was in a distance with the fields being in front and the barns for the animals were at the back. It had been a while to say the least, but as you walked past the wooden fences it was like going home after a long journey away.
The door to the farmhouse was unlocked and with a light push, you poked your head inside. Your grandparents had already left for their first destination by the time you arrived, as seen by how all the furniture were covered by a white plastic cover. Sliding a finger along the window frame, you scrunched your face together when you saw just how much dust was covering everything. It would take a long while for you to clean everything up, you sighed as you put your luggage down onto the floor.
You didn’t even know where to start with all that. Feeling absolutely clueless as you faced the lifeless house, the anxiety you had regarding this decision was starting to appear once more. You were on your own now, with no one to help you and no one to go to if you come across any trouble. It would take you days just to get everything settled down and not to mention getting the hang on how to actually get everything running...
You were scared, and you wondered if you really made the right decision.
It was as if the universe wanted to tell you to stop worrying when you heard a knock at the door. Opening the door, you were face-to-face, actually no he was nowhere near being your eye level, with a white mouse in full business attire. He(?) had a soft smile on his face and behind him was a man with stacks of files on his hands and a pair of rectangular glasses sat neatly on the bridge of his nose alongside with a girl who was very, very pink from head to bottom.
“Hello! You must be the new owner of the ranch, your grandparents told me about you before they left and I decided to come welcome you.” The mouse reached his hand out, “I’m Nezu, the mayor of this town. I will be in the Town’s office if you need anything.”
Shaking Mayor Nezu’s extended hand, you did not have much time to process the fact that the town’s mayor was a mouse before he continued. “This is Iida kun who is the secretary of the office,” the man behind him bowed and you did the same in response in absolutely panick at how formal he was, “and this is Ahisdo san who runs the stable in town.”
The girl grabbed your hand and beamed, “Nice to meet you but Ashido is too formal, you can call me Mina!”
“Ashido san! You are going to intimate them!”
You managed a chuckle at the exchange between the two people. Mayor Nezu cleared his throat to stop them from rambling and he continued. “I’m sure that there’s a lot you have to do to settle down. Yuuei Town is not very big but you can get everything you need in the town square. Please do get to know everyone around when you have time, everyone is very friendly and I’m sure they look forward to meeting you! I brought Iida kun and Ashido san here with me today so they can help you with some basics on how to get around the farm and other things you should know...”
They taught gave you all the information you needed about the town and tips on how to run the farm. It was a lot to take it and your mind was so close to wandering away only to be pulled back at the last second on several occasions. After what seemed like hours of talk with phrases that you had barely heard of before, countless bickering between Iida and Mina, and several moments where you wonder if mice can kill when you sensed the rising danger in Nezu’s tiny eyes as the two argued, they finally left but not without telling you that you were always welcomed to go to them for help if you need anything. Mina also very eagerly offered to take you to the best (and only) restaurant for lunch next week as Iida yelled at her to keep up.
Like that, they were gone and you were alone once more. It was weird to hear just how silent the house was when seconds ago it was filled with people talking. You definitely felt better when they were around but now that it was just you, you were starting to feel lost once again.
This would not do, you had to start somewhere. Your searching eyes landed on the same window frame you touched when you first entered the room. This place could use some ventilation. Taking a deep breath as if you had decided something, you pushed the windows open.
The evening breeze hit your face and you looked out to see that the sun was setting. Everything you saw was under the lovely golden hue of the descending sun. Leaning onto the wooden frame, the last bit of warmth landed on your face, creating a perfect balance with the soft wind. The grass moved along with the movement of the wind and its ruzzling passed into your ear.
From some reason, for no good reason at all, the sight in front of you gave you the sudden relieve that everything would be okay.
Everything would turn out to be okay.
Leaning back, you turned around to look at the mess that was your new home and rolled your sleeves up for first of the many days of hard work ahead.

RYAN: This week on Buzzfeed Unsolved, we cover the murder of the Bertinelli crime family, a prominent Italian mob family operating out of Gotham, New Jersey.
SHANE: Oh, I love a good mob story.
RYAN: Yeah, well, you might want to find someone else to move your couch for this one.
SHANE: Well, Ryan, now I’m titillated.
RYAN (wheeze) Titillated?
SHANE: Titillated!
RYAN, NARRATION: In the 1990s, the Bertinelli family was perhaps the most powerful crime family in Gotham City. Headed by Franco Bertinelli, the family enjoyed great wealth thanks to their deep ties with the mafia.
SHANE: That’s the dream.
RYAN: Being rich thanks to the mafia? That’s the dream?
SHANE: Frankly, Ryan, all rich people are shady. At least being rich thanks to the mafia is upfront!
RYAN: I’m sure they didn’t go around telling everyone ‘hey, the mafia made me rich!’
SHANE: Their last name is Bertinelli, Ryan. They didn’t have to tell people. People just knew.
RYAN: (wheeze)
SHANE: Look me in the eye and tell me Franco Bertinelli isn’t the most cliche mobster name you’ve ever heard.
RYAN: It --- It is pretty cliche, I have to give you that one.
SHANE: You do.
RYAN, NARRATION: Well known around Gotham and the surrounding area, the Bertinellis were believed by many to be all but invincible due to their connections. This would change in the late 1990s.
SHANE: Mafia life didn’t end well for them? It usually ends so well.
RYAN: How many stories have we done about mafia life ending less than well now?
SHANE: That’s, like, 90% of our job at this point. Just reading ‘idk, mafia?’ off a slideshow.
RYAN: And you still want them to move your couch.
SHANE: It’s a heavy couch! I’m not going to get indebted to them or anything. They’ll move one couch, I’ll do one thing for them, and we’ll be even!
RYAN: (wheeze) That’s not how the mafia works!
SHANE: How would you know?
RYAN: Because 90% of my job is reading ‘idk, mafia?’ off a slideshow.
SHANE: Touche.
RYAN, NARRATION: In the late 1990s, when Franco’s daughter Helena was eight years old, an unknown person ordered a hit on the entire Bertinelli family. To this day, it isn’t known precisely who ordered the hit, but sources from within the organization claim that the contract came with an order to spare “the sister.”
SHANE: Oh my god, there are nuns in this?
RYAN: What? (wheeze) No! Why would there be nuns in this?
SHANE: The Sister! Like a nun! These mobsters just didn’t want any nuns hurt.
RYAN: I promise you, this story has absolutely no nuns.
SHANE: I’ll believe it when I see it.
RYAN: You’re seeing it right now, because I’m telling you.
SHANE: Hm.
RYAN: Ugh.
RYAN, NARRATION: The assassin who carried out the hit took this to mean that Helena, Bertinelli’s daughter, was to be spared. While Franco Bertinelli, his wife, and the rest of their family were slaughtered, Helena would survive the experience. She would, however, witness her family’s death.
SHANE: Can’t do that.
RYAN: Kill an entire family while their eight year old watches? Yeah, that’s not great.
SHANE: God that’s --- This is terrible.
RYAN: Yeah, seems like they could have gone about it a little better.
SHANE: Like, maybe take the eight year old in the other room?
RYAN: Still not great!
SHANE: Well, no, Ryan, murdering a child’s entire family is never going to be great.
RYAN: But, yeah. You’d think they could have ‘spared’ her a little better here.
SHANE: These mafia hitmen need to stop taking things so literally!
RYAN: Actually… We’ll touch on that some more in the theories.
SHANE: Did I solve it?
RYAN: (wheeze) How is that anything remotely resembling a solve?
SHANE: I solved it!
RYAN: No! Stop saying you solved things.
SHANE: Jealousy is a bad look on you.
RYAN, NARRATION: For years, it was unclear what happened to Helena. Many people believed the rumors of her survival were false and that she had been killed along with her family. Other claims stated that she was sent to live with family in Sicily. Whatever the case, it’s clear that if Helena survived, she kept a low profile.
SHANE: I mean. Wouldn’t you?
RYAN: Yeah, if my entire family was killed in front of me at eight years old, I probably wouldn’t be going to many parties.
SHANE: (in a bad English accent) Oh, hello! Why, I haven’t seen you in years! My father? Ah, yes! Brutally murdered in front of me. My mother? Also brutally murdered! My brother? Why, it’s funny you should ask! He, too, was brutally murdered!
RYAN: (wheeze) Why are you doing English? They’re Italian.
SHANE: All rich people are British, Ryan.
RYAN: No they’re not.
SHANE: At parties they are.
RYAN: That’s definitely not true.
SHANE: How do you know? Have you ever been to a party for rich people?
RYAN: ...You got me there.
RYAN, NARRATION: So, who ordered the hit on the Bertinelli family? Why were they killed? And, perhaps the bigger question, why was Helena Bertinelli, an eight year old girl, the only member of the family to survive? Let's get into the theories. The first theory points to Stefano Mandragora, a Sicilian mob boss, as the man behind the order.
SHANE: This is a boring theory. Where’s the excitement, Ryan? Where’s the pizzazz?
RYAN: I’m getting to the excitement! Would you let me finish?
SHANE: Get on with it!
RYAN, NARRATION: This theory seems plausible, but the real meat comes from the local family tasked with completing the hit. Santo Cassamento was the leader of the Cassamento Family, one of Gotham’s Five Families. Because the Bertinellis were also one of Gotham’s Five Families, Cassamento would have had regular contact with them. This theory states that, during meetings and gatherings with the other Five Families in Gotham, Cassamento fell in love with Franco Bertinelli’s wife, Maria.
SHANE: Ooh, that is juicy.
RYAN: Oh, it gets juicer.
SHANE: Go on.
RYAN, NARRATION: This theory goes on to claim that Helena Bertinelli wasn’t the daughter of Franco Bertinelli at all, but was in fact an illegitimate child conceived between Maria Bertinelli and Santo Cassamento. When tasked with eliminating the Bertinelli family, Cassamento knew he couldn’t save the woman he loved, and instructed the assassin to spare their daughter instead.
SHANE: That’s kind of sweet, in a way.
RYAN: How is that sweet? She died! He let an assassin kill her!
SHANE: Yeah, but --- It’s like Romeo and Juliet!
RYAN: I’m not convinced you’ve read Romeo and Juliet.
SHANE: I saw the movie.
RYAN: Which one?
SHANE: The one with Leo.
RYAN: That one’s pretty good.
SHANE: Yeah! See, I don’t have to read it. No one needs to read when they can just watch Leo do all the hard work for them.
RYAN: That’s… No.
SHANE: You heard it here first, kids! Reading’s for chumps!
RYAN: No!
RYAN, NARRATION: A second theory believes that Helena Bertinelli was spared accidentally. According to this theory, there were no secret instructions to spare her at all. Rather, the eight year old got lucky when she managed to avoid the onslaught of bullets that killed her family and survived by hiding beneath her mother’s body until most of the assassins cleared out. When one of the assassins was tasked with confirming the kills, he couldn’t bring himself to kill the little girl and instead arranged for her to be taken to safety in Sicily before telling his employer she was dead.
SHANE: That’s horrifying.
RYAN: What part? The part where she only survived by dumb luck, or the part where she hid under her mother’s body?
SHANE: Actually, I meant the bit where her hair got a little messy --- OF COURSE I MEAN HER HIDING UNDER HER MOTHER’S CORPSE, RYAN. What else would I possibly mean? Jesus.
RYAN: (wheeze) Yeah, that’s --- That’s obviously terrible. I mean, this story is horrifying for Helena Bertinelli no matter what theory is the truth. Even if none of them are the truth, it’s clearly a terrible situation for an eight year old to be in.
SHANE: Agreed.
RYAN, NARRATION: The final theory is perhaps the most tragic --- that Helena Bertinelli wasn’t spared at all. In this theory, Helena was killed alongside her family, and the woman using her name now is an imposter hoping to gain control of the Bertinelli fortune.
RYAN: This might sound far-fetched ---
SHANE: --- Actually? I could see it.
RYAN: Really?
SHANE: Sure. I mean, a rich family happens to die and you bear enough of a passing resemblance to their eight year old to pass as her 20-something years later so you figure, why not give it a shot? It’s not like there are many people around to contest it.
RYAN: That’s true.
SHANE: I mean, what, the assassin who killed them is going to come forward now and say, ‘Hey, that’s not Helena Bertinelli! I know because I killed that kid!’
RYAN: (wheeze) Good point. I doubt the assassin is going to come in to disprove it. What about the, uh, the moral implications of posing as a dead eight year old to get her family’s dirty money?
SHANE: I mean… They’re not great? Obviously pretending to be a dead person for money isn’t awesome.
RYAN: It is dirty money, though.
SHANE: Yeah, Ryan, but the eight year old didn’t have anything to do with that!
RYAN: Yeah, that’s true. It does feel pretty disrespectful.
SHANE: Hey, you know me --- I say let the dead be dead.
RYAN: Are you about to pick a fight about ghosts right now?
SHANE: Not unless you’re going to pull a ‘Helena Bertinelli is a ghost’ theory out of your ass.
RYAN: Well, now that you mention it…
SHANE: Uh uh. This episode is OVER, buddy. Save your bullshit for the Post Mortem.
RYAN: (wheeze)
RYAN, NARRATION: Who ordered the hits on the Bertinelli family? Why was their eight year old daughter spared? Was she spared? With the only potential witness to the crime itself a traumatized eight year old girl and the threat of retribution from the remaining members of Gotham’s Five Families preventing anyone from coming forward with more information, the truth behind this massacre will likely forever remain… unsolved.

CSUAPR prt 55 start
Help came in the form of Pidge. The storm had barely let up as the eye passed over the forest, yet without permission from the garrison she’d stolen a pod from under their noses, then “kidnapped” one of the doctors off the base. Miriam had called Coran, Coran calling Pidge, upset that help hadn’t been sent to assist them sooner, Pidge flipping the Garrison the bird and taking things into her own hands. Landing the small pod in front of the cabin, both Pidge and the “procured” doctor soaked to the bone in the short run from the pod to the cabin door. Awoken by a barking Kosmo, Shiro armed himself with the lamp from the beside table, nearly taking Pidge’s head off swinging his improvised as she came crashing into the room. The lamp shattering against the doorframe, waking both twins with the sound of it. Lance still out cold to the world, Keith and Curtis had let Shiro sleep. Curtis faking sleep until his boyfriend had settled, then admitted he was too worried to sleep. He wouldn’t be able to rest until Lance woke, until he was safely settled in the care of medical professionals. Trapped between Lance and Shiro, Curtis had helped him wash his hands finally free of the traces of birth. He monitors Lance’s temperature and heart rate, as well as checking the bleeding between his legs. As far as both of them were concerned, Pidge had arrived at the best possible time. A flurry of activity had followed. Pidge was accepted by Kosmo, the doctor she’d brought with her was not. Kosmo didn’t appreciate her gentle hands on Lance’s naked form, nor the way she was questioning Keith over the birth and Lance’s subsequent condition. Shiro’s job went from sheepishly picking up shards of broken lamp to wrangling an angry Kosmo away from the bed. The twins were crying, Keith was yelling, Curtis was worrying, Pidge was hovering and the poor doctor was trying to keep Lance alive. It was a flurry of excitement Keith’s poor heart didn’t need. * Seated in the waiting area of the Garrison’s infirmary wing, Shiro’s eyes remained on his little brother. Keith wasn’t handling this well. His brother had gone from pacing to yelling, back to pacing and brushing off any form of comfort offered. As they twins were taken one way and Lance rushed off the other. Lance hadn’t woken, yet had thrown a seizure when being moved. His brother was melting down as his happiness crumbled, blaming himself entirely for the situation when Shiro was to blame. He shouldn’t have allowed them to stay at the cabin. He knew the storm was forecast. He knew they’d issues alert warning of the high winds and wild weather. He’d made the wrong decision, possibly costing Lance his life. Kissing his hair, Curtis was his strength. Keith’s rejection of his attempts to calm him had hurt. His brother wasn’t the only one scared by the situation. Lance may be Keith’s husband, but that didn’t give him the exclusive right to worry... or to take a swing at him as he yelled that “he could never understand”. No. He couldn’t understand how it felt to lose a husband, instead he simply knew how it felt to lose an ex-fiancé without ever reconciling. Coran had barely stepped foot on the base before he was taken by Pidge to collect Miriam. Shiro’s suspicion was that she’d been deeply shaken over the events of the night, and as point of distraction she was doing absolutely everything she could to avoid sitting still. Lance had built up so many walls, placed so much distance between him and all of them, never wanted to seem less than perfect before them, was in a critical condition. In surgery, tucked away in some back operating news while they all sat and waited. There hadn’t been news of the twins either. Shiro wanted to ask. He wanted to stand up, storm out and demand answers. The very thing he’s banned Keith from doing. Since Pidge has returned with Miriam and Jorge, Keith had finally allowed himself to be comforted. Getting up left him afraid he’d disturb his brother, or fill his head with thoughts over what could be happening with the twins. No. Keith had stumbled into Miriam’s arms, clutched her right and broken down against her. They were now sitting on the opposite side of the space. Jorge was wringing his hands. Coran was pacing. Pidge was on her comms, Krolia scheduled to arrive within the half hour. Aside from calling Coran, Miriam had reached out to Lance’s team. They’d be coming the following day, once the storm had lessened, though the main reason was that they didn’t want to overwhelm Lance. “Taka, he’s going to be ok” Squeezing his hand softly, Curtis’s soft words meant the world to him. His boyfriend was giving him the space and permission to let himself be honest with his fears “We don’t know that for sure. We’ve been waiting for hours” “Would you like me to go ask?” “I don’t want Keith to worry” “We’re all worried. Lance is strong. He’s in good hands” That was true. Though Shiro couldn’t currently recall the name of the female doctor who Pidge had brought with her to the cabin off the top of his head, he knew she had to have served under him. All medical staff did on a three month rotation to train them in off-world emergency procedures “There was so much blood” “And you did absolutely everything you could. I was proud of you today. I am proud of you everyday, but I think I might just have fallen in love with you all over again” “I wasn’t the one doing the hard work... I was... I was jealous when I first learned of his pregnancy. Seeing that... seeing the pain he went through...” “To birth two beautiful and healthy boys. Don’t forget the good because of the bad. I know you’re in love with them” “Only as much as you are” To hold the soft warm life that went from simply being a baby boy to Laith... To deliver him into his hold. The elation he’d felt to see the little boy in person. Curtis was as proud as he was. Their God sons were a miracle made flesh. “I’ve never seen something that incredible” Curtis and Lance’s relationship had crossed into something akin to what he had Keith. Curtis would do absolutely everything for Lance. They were able to communicate in a way that’d taken Shiro months to achieve “It was pretty amazing. They turned from two lives inside of Lance into two people. I wonder what their features will settle into” “They look more like Keith. Lance will be happy about that” A mini-Keith was Lance’s hope. Lance had made it clear that he’d hoped his sons looked like his father, disregarding his own fair looks “I thought Laith looked a lot like Lance. They’ve got the same lips” Curtis hummed softly “We’ll have to wait until we see them again” It was another hour long wait before nurse entered the waiting room. Shiro dosing lightly despite the anxiety and worry balled up in the base of his stomach. Checking the holopad in his hands, the man cleared his throat “Keith. You may come through now” Rousing them from their thoughts, Miriam talked on behalf of the group “How is he? How is my son?” “He came through surgery. We’ll be monitoring him closely over the next 48 hours. He’s awake, but very groggy. Visitation is currently limited to family. Keith was first request when informed” Keith’s expression was one of guilt as he shifted to gave up at Miriam’s face “Maybe you should...” “Mijo, he asked for you” “Isn’t there some way...?” The question was posed to Miriam, though the nurse was the one to answer “I’m sorry, family only” “They are his family. Everyone in this room is his family” Shiro’s heart swelled with love as Miriam cooly rejected the man’s words, the man stammering “I... uh...” Beside him, Curtis spoke up “We’ll accompany Keith to Lance, then wait outside until you’ve filled him in on Lance’s condition” Everyone in the room wanted to enquire over the health of Hunter and Laith, yet if something was wrong Keith deserved to be the first to know. Patting Keith’s hand, Miriam smiled at him “We are all with you, Mijo. Anything you and Lance need. Isn’t that right, Jorge?” Jorge who still looked incredibly out of place and uncomfortable nodded. Not giving a verbal reply. Shiro sympathised with what the man must be going through. Lance was his son, his baby boy. He’d not only given birth, but was now in a critical condition. Being a farmer, Shiro assumed he was no stranger to a farm yard birth. The man must be horrified overlaying that experience with the images of his son “It is quite early in the morning. I cannot allow you all access, and I must insist you refrain from unnecessarily loud conversation. Lance needs his rest” Miriam nodded, gather Keith up against her as she stood “We understand. Keith, we’re going to see Lance now, Mijo. Once we see Lance, we can visit those beautiful boys of yours” With Keith being in a visible state of anxiety, they all felt the need to be there with him. Especially seeing Krolia hadn’t made an appearance yet. * Keith’s heart was in his throat. He was scared to death of what was waiting inside the hospital room that his husband was laying in. He’d noticed the way the nurse hadn’t mentioned the twins. He hadn’t mentioned how the surgery went, or how Lance was doing mentally. He’d told him he could see him, because Lance had asked for him... but what if it was bad news? Clinging to Miriam as if he was child, her presence offered a maternal comfort as she held him tightly. He was ashamed for needing comfort, and for not being strong enough to wait silently. Reaching Lance’s room in a daze, he found he couldn’t lift his hand to open the door. His precious husband was right in there, yet his anxieties felt as if they’d suddenly multiplied exponentially “Keith, would you like me to come with you?” The nurse seemed ready to object. Keith wanted to assure his mother-in-law that he would fine on his own, but that... that stupid voice in his head telling him they twins were gone and Lance was going to die, refused fo shut it’s stupid mouth “Please?” “Of course, my dear. Are you ready?” No. No, he wasn’t ready in the slightest “Yes” Keith wanted to cry at the sight before him. Miriam still held him, as they both stared at Lance. To the left side of his bed were two portable plastic cribs, their sons reswaddled in soft blue blankets. Lance was half propped up in bed, his hand resting on the lip of the closest crib, drugged up and unfocused eyes full of love as he stared at their boys “Mijo...” Looking from their boys to them, Lance’s smile remained on his lips. His husband must be on some amazing pain medication to be smiling like that after all he’d been through. On the right side of the bed two drip bags hung from the rack, one of blood and one of saline. Lance’s stats displayed on the small machine down and to the left of the rack. Completing the look was the Nasal cannula connecting to the wall behind the bed “He lost a lot of blood post surgery, the tearing severe and will require a follow up operation, possibly a second or a third depending on the results. We’ve administer blockers, so he should feel no pain beneath the waist. Honestly, he shouldn’t be awake, yet he’d barely been moved to recovery before regaining consciousness. We must ask that you refrain from sitting on the side of the bed or moving him. You may hold his hand, but no bending or stretching at the moment. Your twins are both remarkably healthy, hitting the statistics we are more likely to see from full term birth information. Hunter has a small triangular birthmark beneath his right armpit. Laith shows no evident birthmarks. We’ve taken blood samples for genetic coding. We’ve administered an anti-convulsive, and he is on pain relief” To Keith that didn’t sound terrible. What he took from the nurses explanation was that his husband was going to be okay with them, and their precious boys suffered no ill effects from the birth. His secondary instincts were struggling with Lance being in hospital again, yet the way they were nudging at his mind wasn’t completely unpleasant. His anger hadn’t flared, nor had his petty jealousy, maybe because their boys and Lance were all right there in front of them “You may sit with him for now. Please try not to over excite him” Miriam drew a deep breath, her expression stating she’d be rolling her eyes if she wasn’t grateful to the man and knew that he was only going his job “Thank you for all you’ve done for my son and my grandchildren. We’ll remain watching over him. I am his mother after all, and no stranger to how he must feel. Now, Keith, go hold Lance’s hand. He’s very tired and waiting for you” Miriam left no room for rebuttal. Keith had fully intended to hold Lance’s hand at the first chance he got. Lance. Twins. Finding a way to hold all three at once, in that order. The poor nurse was out of his depth when it came to handling Miriam. He opened his mouth to object, only to close it under her firm gaze. Keith very nearly felt sorry for the man, then Lance made a sort of small waving motion with his hand and everything else was gone. Striding to Lance’s side, Keith took Lance’s right hand as he buried his face against his husband’s oily hair. Closing his eyes, he breathed in his husband’s scent, tearing up at the thought that he could have lost Lance on the operating table “Hey... babe” Forcing himself back, Keith stared down into Lance’s near black eyes with a smile on his face “Hey, you” “Hey you, yourself. You’re so goddamn pretty” Keith snorted. Right now, Lance was drugged to the gills “I can’t take my eyes off you even for a moment. How do you feel?” Lance made a crackling kind of noise “Good morning, Passengers! This is your Captain. We’re flying high as fucking fruit loop” Keith sucked his bottom lip in, biting down to keep from laughing “Ah! I see you laughing there, Mullet man! My mullet man! Mulleato mateo mullet manno! Did you know I had a baby? I had two of them! Did you see them? The nurse wouldn’t let me lick them. I don’t know why. If I pushed them out, then I should, by law, get to lick them” Keith’s laughter bubbled up, bursting from him in the form of a loud laughing snort out his nose. Normally a high Lance wasn’t a rambling Lance. A rambling high Lance was hilarious. The way Lance seemed incredibly proud of himself, as if he’d presented the most eloquent speech known to mankind only made it that much funnier. This dopey idiot was his dopey idiot “Oh, babe. What am I going to do with you?” “Marry me? Fuck me... boo no. Noooo. Sex makes babies and babies hurt my arse” Talking with his face as much as his words, Keith started blushing on his husband’s behalf. Moving to his side, Miriam pulled the visitors chair closer to the bed before settling down making herself comfortable. Lance’s eyes widened with excitement. There was no keeping his husband from being excitable. He was pain free and deliriously happy overy last thing “Mami! Mami! I had a baby! I had Keith’s Abby! Baby... Not Abby! Are you cheating on me with Abby? Who the fuck is Abby? I’ll shoot her!” Miriam cast a glance in Keith’s direction, also trying to stifle her laughter. After the tense hours waiting Keith was almost boneless with relief that Lance was not only awake but wouldn’t shut up “I’m not cheating on you. You’re high off you’re head on painkillers” Lance huffed “If I’m so high, why are so goddamn beautiful? You’ve got something on your lips” Keith scrunched his brow, fingertips going to his lips. He didn’t feel anything there. With everything that happened he hadn’t eaten, his stomach a tense knot most probably because it was unhappy at the lack of food over the last day “Did I get it?” “It’s still here! Come closer...” Leaning in, Lance shook his head “Come clooooooooooseer!” Leaning down further so they were face to face, his husband stole a kiss. So much for being groggy, then again, with Lance’s addiction history it was so strange that he might react differently to the drugs in his system than others “Ha! Can’t believe you fell for that!

The Child of the Elden Woods
As a child, Izumi had only ever been given one rule: never leave the forest.
But why, mama she would cry. Why can’t I go?
Her mother, a kind soul with hair and eyes the color of the herbs she grew, would say the same thing each time. You are beautiful, my dearest. But it is a kind of beauty not many can appreciate. I fear that they would harm you for it.
That never made sense to Izumi. Why would people fear her? She had never considered herself to be monstrous. She looked like her Papa, who was strong and mighty. The small horns on her head and the growing feathery wings on her back had been inherited from him. Though, her’s weren’t very impressive, not compared to Papa’s. She had hoped that one day, her’s would be just as magnificent.
Izumi loved it when Papa came to visit them in their little cottage in the woods. He’d always come at night, for he was strongest then and could pass through the worlds easily. He came smelling of ash and smoke. He would embrace Mama, and ruffle Izumi’s messy evergreen hair.
Teach me, Papa, she would beg every time. Teach me how to fly.
Each time, he’d reply, Soon, my little dragonfly.
Yes, she loved Papa’s visits more than anything in the world. But she knew they weren’t always pleasant. Some nights, she could hear Mama and Papa arguing downstairs from the room she and Mama shared. They always argued about the same thing: her.
It isn’t safe for her, Papa would say. The humans will find her and kill her.
She’ll be fine as long as she stays here in the cottage, Mama would reassure him.
He’d scoff, The cottage? Do you believe that a cottage can contain her? She has my blood in her veins.
I won’t have her grow up in your realm, Hisashi. It is a harsh, cruel place of fire and war. It would break her, turn her heart to stone.
In my realm, I am king. Izumi could imagine Papa bearing his fangs as he spoke. None would dare lay a finger on her.
Izumi didn’t fully understand what they were saying, but she did know one thing. She did not want to spend her life locked away in the cottage. It was too small, and she always had to keep her wings folded, even when it made them cramp and ache. She wanted to fly. Fly away to the nearest town and greet all that lived there. She was sure she could show them that she was good, that she was someone worth loving. After all, Mama was human and she had managed to love Papa. Why couldn’t everyone else do the same?
So one day, when her Mama was asleep and Papa was away, Izumi took off into the night. She knew there was a human village nearby. She sometimes watched the children play at the edge of the woods, hidden from their sight. She always told herself that if they cleared the tree line, she would go and introduce herself. But they never did.
The glowing lights of lanterns soon came into view, and Izumi’s heart could just burst from excitement. It looked like a sea of dancing starlight bound to the earth, taking Izumi’s breath away. So many people were out of their homes and dancing on the streets. Some kind of festival must have been going on.
Izumi burst into the crowd, her wings and horns on proud display. What happened next would be something she would never forget, not for the long years she lived, nor for the long eternity after. The joyful laughter of the crowd was replaced by horrified screams. The screams reverberated through Izumi’s bones, and she felt her very soul recoil.
The humans ran, trying to get as far from her as possible. They kicked at her, threw produce at her. It wasn’t too long before the men returned, weapons in hand. Izumi remembered someone grabbing her hand, and her panic before she realized who it was. Mama had come to her rescue, and was ushering her towards the woods.
Izumi wanted to beg for her Mama’s forgiveness. Forgive me, Mama. I thought they would see, I thought I would have a chance.
The humans pursued them, screaming all sorts of horrible names at them. Witch, whore, hell-spawn, abomination. They were quickly gaining on them. Izumi would never forget the hopeless look in her Mama’s eyes. She would never forget what her Mama told her: Run. Run Izumi, as far as you can. Run, and hide, and live.
Her Mama ushered back into the woods. But Mama did not follow. Mama stayed behind, to distract the villagers and led them off of Izumi’s trial. Izumi managed to get away, but Mama did not.
Izumi spent the next couple of days either watching from the tree line or waiting in the cottage for Papa to come. She knew that if he came, he could rescue Mama. He was strong. But he never did, and Izumi didn’t know how to contact him. So instead, she waited, watching for any sign of Mama. Then, a few days after the incident, she saw her.
They dragged Mama through the streets, chained. She was covered in mud and her clothes were in tatters. They pulled her towards the woods, and for a split second, Izumi hoped that they would let her go. Instead, They tied her to a post, and littered the ground at her feet with wood. The crowd went quiet as one man spoke.
In the name of King Endeavor, First of his name, we find you guilty of witchcraft, consorting with the demons of the Netherworld, and birthing a foul creature not of this earth. For these crimes, we sentence you to die.
Then, the villagers began to chant: burn the witch, Burn The Witch, BURN THE WITCH
Horror filled Izumi. No, no they couldn’t. She watched as they lit the pile of wood at her Mama’s feet, and small flames flickered to life. Izumi cleared the tree line, rushing to her Mama’s rescue. But Mama looked up, and saw her. Her green eyes were so sad. She merely shook her head, and mouthed one word: go.
Izumi’s heart was heavy, and tears spilled like waterfalls from her eyes. Slowly, before the villagers even noticed her, she turned around and walked away. She left her Mama to burn.
Izumi returned sometime in the cover of night. The villagers were all gone, yet the ashes remained. She gathered in a jar and brought them home, where they belonged.
Izumi never ventured out after that day. She remained in the woods, in the cramped little cottage like she was supposed to. Papa stop coming, though she had her suspicions as to why. After that day, the Netherlands forced open a gate to earth, and unleashed a plague of demons and monsters and curses. However, they say the Demon King had his head chopped off by the Sacred Knight, All Might. Papa never returned after she heard that rumor from some passing travelers, so she supposed it must be true. So Izumi was truly alone.
Nowadays, the people of the village whisper about a young woman who lives in the woods alone. She always wears a bonnet on her head, and a shawl to cover her hunchback. She never ventures out of the woods, and people can only catch passing glimpses of her. Some people thought she was a demon, others an enchantress. Some believed that she was a simple hermit that wished to be left alone.
However, none ventured into the woods to find the truth. The Elden Woods were old, and all manner of beasts lived there. No, best leave the mystery woman to herself.

Like Father, Like Daughter (Part 1)
Igaguri Mayu had, for most of her life, been pretty normal. So was her family and friends, all things considered. But one day, after a Kaiju attack, her entire world get's flipped upside down. Now she has to juggle high school and playing host to Ultraman Zero, all while trying to keep it from her parents to prevent them from worrying. Throw in the strange friends of her dad's and an evil, monster summoning alien, and Mayu's starting to wonder if she'll manage to even make it to her next birthday.
AO3: https://archiveofourown.org/works/22967815/chapters/54904834
Mayu Igaguri found the memories of the Ultramen who fought when she was a child was hazy, the idea that one of them were her dad becoming more and more ridiculous as she got older. The appearances of Ultraman Geed were few and far between the past few years, the other one hadn’t been seen since the incident in Okinawa. Everyone knew of the hero who fought monsters, but the monster just hadn’t been showing up.
It was after school on a Saturday afternoon, Mayu was walking through the mall, her friend Noa at her side as they window shopped. They chatted about school and about their classmates, before something in one of the windows caught Noa’s attention. She rushed over letting out a squeal of excitement, fawning over what she’d saw. Mayu walked over adjusting her glasses as she listened to Noa babbled about how adorable it was. It, being a little plushy of what appeared to be Ultraman Geed.
“Oh! Mayu, look how cute he is!” Noa cooed, pointing her finger on the glass to where the doll sat on the other side.
Mayu smiled, amused by Noa’s giddiness at the doll, “I guess it is,”
“You guess?” Noa gasped, using all her theatrics. Mayu knew that she was just being over dramatic, especially since Noa looked less offended and held a grin upon her face.
“I can see why you’d call it cute,”
“That’s ‘cause it is!” The two soon devolved into laughter. It was times like these that Mayu was glad for her and Noa’s friendship. They could laugh over the simplest things, like this silly little doll in the window of a store. Though they were laughing easily, it soon faded as the whole mall shook, like an earthquake. Around them, everyone devolved into panic and one word was being shouted over and over, the only thing the two could make out.
“Kaiju!” People here and there yelled.
“Kaiju?” Mayu asked, looking to Noa.
“It.. it can’t be a Kaiju, right?” Noa looked around in panic, “There’s barely been any Kaijus in years!”
Then, not far from where they attempted to run, the ceiling fell showing the legs of what was clearly a monster, some kind of dinosaur like thing. There were also more human like legs, blue with bits of silver, and Mayu swore she could see just the slightest bit of red. The two fought and somewhere, deep within Mayu, she felt a strong sense of deja vu, like she’d seen the giant fighting the monster before.
A scream pulled her attention from the fighting giants, pulling over to a bit of rubble and Noa, who was under and beam. “I’m stuck!” Mayu ran over attempting to lift up the beam. It barely budged, proving far too heavy for her.
“Run!” Noa yelled, “Just go! You’re not going to be able to get me free!”
“No!” Mayu shot back, “You could die if I leave you.”
“We could both die if you stay here!”
Then a flash of light, Noa screamed her name, and pain. So much pain. She felt herself fly to the ground, hard, but the pain on-in-throughout her chest was so much more distracting. It felt like she was floating, in a way. A darkness that threatened to consume her. Then all the noise from the fight faded more and more. Quiet. It was quiet, like when her mother was reading or her dad was in thought… Quiet, like when the burning energy inside her as a child left, aiding the giant of light. It was quiet and dark, and Mayu hated it. It was… wrong.
She heard a hum of sorts, like a voice that she just couldn’t quite understand. It sounded… vaguely familiar. Growing from the sound was a light, what started as a flicker grew, until it was nearly so bright she couldn’t stand it. Then the pain was gone and Mayu opened her eyes, sitting up, bringing a hand up to her chest.
“Mayu?” Noa sounded relieved, horrified, and astounded all at once, though Mayu was so confused she didn’t pay Noa much mind.
“…What happened…?”
“Ah, good, you’re okay,” It was the voice, the hum from before. In that moment, Mayu knew she’d heard it somewhere before, the presence created by the voice being a degree of comforting. Now where had she heard it…?
A name came to Mayu before she could even think about what she was saying, “Zero?” A hazy memory of her and her parents, her father’s arm in a sling, as the three of them waved goodbye to a blue, silver, and red giant. The giant had been working with her dad. They fought monsters, alongside Ultraman Geed.
“Come back and play again!” She had called out to the giant.
“Wait, you mean like the Ultraman?” Noa asked, sounding confused herself. She thought for a moment, before continuing, “That giant did look like the one that fought with Ultraman Geed…”
“Ah,” The voice, Zero, said, “You know of me.”
Mayu thought, for moment, recalling what her father had said all those years ago about his first meeting with the Ultra. Then she spoke, “You saved me,”
“Yes, well, I admired how you tried to help your friend, even though it put you in danger. Since I can’t exactly stick around too long on my own, it worked out.”
“You saved my father too.”
“Mayu, who are you talking to?” Noa called, concern in her voice.
There was silence from Zero, as he processed what Mayu had said. “Wait, you’re Leito’s daughter? You’re Mayu Igaguri?”
“Yes,” Mayu breathed, all the pieces she’d dismissed as she grew returning. “I am.”
There was silence, until Noa spoke, her voice wavering, “Mayu, you’re scaring me. Are you okay?”
“I… yeah,” Mayu said, “Let’s get you out of there.”
“You can try, but I don’t think you’ll have much better luck now than you did before.”
Mayu knew Noa was right, but she also knew that she had to try. So, with a huff she walks over to the beam giving a grunt as she tried to lift it. To both Mayu and Noa’s surprise, the beam lifted with a strange ease. Mayu, though shocked was care not to drop it until it was off of Noa.
“Mayu…” Noa said quietly, “How did you lift the beam? Did it have something to do with that Ultraman? After he beat the monster he became light and flew to you.”
There was a strange shift, as Mayu felt her hand moving not of her will. It pulled her glasses off and Zero spoke through her. “It’s due to my power that Mayu was able to lift the beam, yes,”
Noa’s face became shocked, “Wait-wait. What’s going on here?”
And so Zero explained, some of it reminding her of what she’d heard from her dad. She wasn’t sure how she felt about having to be Zero’s host, but she supposed it was better than her dad, who probably didn’t need more stress right now. Still…
“So why are you here, exactly?” Noa asked, speaking for Mayu, probably without even realizing it. “I mean, what brought you to Earth here and now?”
“Ah, right…” Zero said, “I came here because I was following an alien that had been summoning monsters to attack planets. The monster that showed up today was sent by that alien.”
In a panic, Mayu takes over, shoving her glasses back on her face, “Wait, hold up! You’re going to stick around? With me?”
“Well, yes…” Zero said, his tone the slightest bit sheepish. “I usually get hurt in fights and since I can’t remain on this planet without a host for more than three minutes… I’ll need a host so I don’t have to constantly fly off the planet and try to recover on my own.”
Normally, Mayu liked to pride herself on her ability to stay calm even when her heart was racing. Yet this was one of the times where she just couldn’t. She didn’t know anything about all this! The most confrontation she’d ever had was with some stupid bullies from her school, and all that led to was a few verbal spats. Her thoughts halted to a stop and she found herself only able to utter one word, “…What…?”
Noa seemed to realize there was another conversation going, so she sat down on some of the rubble, watching Mayu idly. Soon Zero responded to Mayu’s shock, saying, “I understand that this is a lot, but it’ll only be for a bit. Once we find that alien and deal with them, I’ll head off. I’m sure you’ll do great, after all, your dad barely knew how to deal with most conflict, so you can’t be any worse.” Were she a little less shocked, Mayu might have been offended by that last part.
“Okay… I don’t think there are really a lot of options here…”
“Exactly,” How reassuring of him.
“You’re really going to make me regret this.”
“So, what’s the plan?” Noa asked, hopping from the rubble she was sitting on. Mayu could tell that Zero was thinking before she felt him take control, once again pulling her glasses off.
“For now, go home and rest. I can’t rise again right now anyway. Tomorrow, we find Riku and tell him what’s going on, see if we can help. Then we begin our search for the alien behind all this.” Zero allowed Mayu to return to control as they left what remained of the mall. Noa, thankfully, wasn’t hurt, despite the rubble and the beam. Mayu took out her phone, noticing all the missed messages. Her mom, her dad, a few of her friends who knew she’d been at the mall.
“Ah, I guess I should call mom…”
Noa looked to her, “Oh, yeah, you’re right. Our parents are probably worried.”
Mayu dialed her mom’s cell phone, listening as the number ringed and ringed. Then her mom answer, “Mayu? Oh, Mayu are you okay?”
“Uh- Yeah, I’m… fine.” Should she tell her parents about Zero? She knew that her mom had known when her dad was hosting Zero, at some point. “A-okay. I’m on my way home.”
“That’s a relief. Stay safe, I’ll see you soon.”
“I love you, bye.”
Noa soon got off her phone, looking Mayu, “Are you going to tell your parents? About Zero?”
Mayu was quiet for a moment, “I… I don’t know.”
“You should. They already know me from when Leito was my host.”
“I know, I just… I don’t want them to worry.” Noa nodded, understanding, though the slight frown on her face told Mayu she didn’t exactly agree. Mayu knew that she should at least tell her dad, she knew that being Zero’s host would put her in danger. But that’s also why she knew her parents would worry. Her dad didn’t need more stress, not with how much stress he’s getting from work.
When Mayu got home, her mother wrapped her up into a big hug. There was an unspoken tension that melted away in that moment. Mayu was safe and that was all that matter.
“What happened?” Her mother asked, “The news said a Kaiju…”
“There was a Kaiju,” Mayu confirmed, “And a blue, silver, and red giant who fought it – like the one from before. But it’s okay, Noa and I got out and neither of us were hurt.” The two had already agreed on a story. Though Mayu felt a bit guilty about lying to her mom…
“That’s a relief,” Her mom said, combing her fingers through Mayu’s hair, which had become a bit of a mess. “You go clean up, now.”
“Yes mom,” Mayu smiled in response, though it fell slightly after she turned to leave. She heard her mother mumble something about Zero, though she couldn’t make much more out.
“Should you really have lied to her?” Zero asked when Mayu had made it to her room.
“Mom and dad don’t need to worry. Besides I didn’t lie perse…” Mayu responded, “I just omitted a few details.”
“Like you getting hurt and possibly nearly dying.” Came Zero’s dry response.
“I didn’t stay hurt, thanks to you.”
“You can’t keep it from them forever. Especially once we talk to Riku.”
“We’ll see, Zero, we’ll see.” She said, “And Riku? Do you mean the one that’s obsessed with Don-shine?”
“Yes, Riku Asakura, though you might better know him as Ultraman Geed.”
Mayu dropped the clothes she’d been holding, “Riku is Ultraman Geed?”

And I got so into writing out that Worst Case Scenario last night I forgot to mention my second misgiving with the whole damn prompt, which AS IT HAPPENS covers some headcanons I've been meaning to bring up AND is relevant to a prompt coming up in my list that I am gonna write, so I'm gonna devote a post to this:
The very scenario "x character gets upset over y character CHEATING!!!" is based on the presumption that, like... the characters give a shit.
In the case of Rodorah, it assumes that two giant animals, one of which is an alien, both:
1) are familiar with the concept of monogamy as humans understand it
2) believe in and adhere to the concept of monogamy as humans understand it
3) consider dating or banging anyone outside their relationship a breach of trust in regards to said monogamy
4) would have the exact same emotional reaction as a human to said breach of trust
Which is a lot of assumption to put on a dinosaur and a dragon. And also anyone who dates Ghidorah is automatically in a polyamorous relationship so monogamy is kinda out the window right from the get go, you know?
So I'm gonna dig into why all those assumptions are unnecessary to assume. Half based on canon and half covering fic headcanons.
Gonna go out on a limb and assume that we don't know anything worth discussing about the mating habits of pteranodons; but Monsterverse Rodan's also got a lot of bird in him, so let's go with that. Lots of birds are socially monogamous, but not sexually monogamous. What that means is that once two birds are committed to each other—went down to bird city hall and signed their bird marriage license, exchanged tiny bird rings, whatever birds do—they've committed to sharing a nest and splitting egg-guarding and child-rearing duties in that nest. They HAVEN'T committed to only screwing each other. Depending on the species, 10% to 33% of the eggs in the nest could have a different genetic father than the male bird in that couple. (And some even have a different genetic mother, which boggles my mind. Like did she fly all the way over to someone else's nest just to lay the egg like "I don't wanna deal with this one thanks" and they're like "that's fine have a nice day"? I'm sure that's not how it works but the thought amuses me.)
Operating by that definition, Rodan's image of "totally committed and faithful" would be "there's only one person whom I split daily chores with, and I can have kids with anyone."
(Some bird species are both sexually and socially monogamous... but then, some bird species also are only committed to one partner for one breeding season, then break up and commit to a new partner next year. There's variation, is the point—and more than that, "you can't logically assume that a species like this is going to be sexually/socially monogamous for life the way humans idealize" is the bigger point.)
The fact that Rodan's species, like all titan species, seems to be in a perpetual state of "less than two dozen deaths away from total extinction" would actually select against sexual monogamy, because a species that goes "I'm not having kids with anyone except my one true love. Who died a century ago," is gonna go extinct a lot faster than a species that goes "boy won't my one true love be excited when she hears about the prime real estate me and Ms. Krakatoa found to lay our eggs in."
And I've established in prior headcanons that because parents might die long before their kids are born and because volcanoes act as natural fortresses/incubators for eggs, Rodan's species doesn't share nests, doesn't need to protect or incubate eggs, and doesn't rear their young—so what would social monogamy even entail for them? It doesn't need to entail much of anything, if they even subscribe to it at all.
Ghidorah's species is alien so there's no need to try to compare them to their "nearest related species on Earth" because they aren't related to any species on Earth. But, if we're gonna use Earth species as a framework off of which to base their headcanons anyway: dorats/Ghidorahs, when taken all together, are like 50% snake, 30% cat, and 20% bat.
Snakes are the least monogamous bunch of animals you could ask for. During mating season, males and females both have multiple partners, females can lay eggs from multiple fathers in one clutch, and most species don't even bother incubating their eggs. (In the few that do, the mother does that without a partner.)
Domestic cats are into gang bangs. When a female cat is in heat, she will yowl to attract as many male cats in the area as possible. When a male cat wants some, he'll yowl in hopes a female cat in heat will zip over. They'll mate with multiple cats in a row, loitering around watching while they wait for their turn. They'll mate with whoever shows up. They'll mate with their own relatives. Cats don't care. Cats are gross. Get your cats fixed.
Most bats will have multiple partners. Some bats are polygamous—one or two dudes with a collection of multiple female partners. In both of these cases, males don't help rear the young. A few bats are monogamous and share parenting duties—but these are the minority.
So Ghidorah's most closely related species are three counts of "I don't care who you screw, I don't care who I screw, once a year there's like a month where anyone could screw anyone else at any time and nobody is safe. I'll screw you and then I'll screw a space chicken cyborg and then I'll screw myself, watch, I'm flexible."
One hopes they're a bit more selective than that, but those are the nearest Earth analogues we're starting with as our basis for their species.
Based just on that, between Ghidorah and Rodan, if one of them is gonna be fussed about the other having additional partners—sexual, romantic, or otherwise—odds are it ain't gonna be Ghidorah. Ghidorah's gonna be the clueless alien trying to figure out what weird Earth etiquette rule he broke while Rodan's upset—assuming Rodan cares either.
So beyond Earth animals: what's been established about dorats so far is that they live in big groups with multiple aeries. The basic dorat social unit is a flock (30-200 adults), not a nest (1-2 adults). Since they communally share nests, eggs from multiple parents will end up in the same pile, and so it's likely no one gives a damn about who's had kids with who. (And—although I haven't gotten into dorat reproduction yet—eggs are laid immediately after mating, so it's impossible to have dubious paternity in a dorat mating—which IRL, aside from "doubling the amount of parents looking after these kids," is one of the driving factors of monogamy in the wild.)
The Xilien military HAS witnessed aggression based on sexual jealousy between adolescent dorats, enough so that they think it's a threat to their experiments. The Xilien military is locking up dorats in cages and experimentally fusing them together. The Xilien military is not observing dorats in their natural habitat. The actual dorat breeder is absolutely horrified to hear of dorats behaving like that, because it's a sign of extreme stress and trauma. Viciously competing for mates and chasing off other potential sexual partners, therefore, is abnormal for dorats.
Using Ghidorah as they are now as an example of what dorats are like is dicey, since they've lived such a strange life and so much of their psychology is shaped by trauma—buuut, it's evident from them that dorats can feel romantic love, but we don't know what function it would've had among normal dorats. Maybe it's supposed to be a temporary thing that fades after a mating season, maybe it's supposed to encourage a few members of one flock to latch on to members of another flock and move as a means to discourage stagnation in the genetic pool of a single flock, maybe its primary purpose has nothing to do with driving reproduction but rather is supposed to strengthen social bonds between members of this naturally empathic species...
So the presence of romantic feelings doesn't inherently correlate with monogamy, or a desire for monogamy, or sexual/romantic exclusivity, or sexual/romantic jealousy...
So add all that together and what do you get. Of the two of them, Rodan is more likely to have a natural and/or cultural inclination toward any sort of monogamy than Ghidorah is, and even at that it's most likely to be romantic monogamy than sexual monogamy. Ghidorah's the one more likely to assume against exclusivity from the outside. However: to the original premise, if Ghidorah DID find out Rodan had taken another sexual partner (and let's be frank, it would be sexual because nobody in this fandom is writing a damn thing about infidelity plots that don't eventually fall back on "o noez Rodan screwed someone he shouldn't have," even when romance IS involved it boils down to sex, and yeah it's always Rodan—)
That parenthetical went on a bit of a tangent. Anyway if Ghidorah found out Rodan had taken another sexual partner, there'd be three possible reactions:
1) The LEAST likely: as in the potential scenario yesterday written on the "okay, let's assume that cheating is a thing for them" assumption: an apocalypse with a potential side of murder/suicide. In order for something like that to happen, Ghidorah's experiences on Earth would have to have pushed them into full Despite All My Rage I Am Still Just A Dorat In A Cage mode. Their baseline mental state is at about 45% on the "stressed caged dorat" meter. Right now they're hovering around 30% and gradually dropping. Being an enslaved war machine kept them at a steady 75%. They'd need to be at like 90% before they started flipping their shit over romantic jealousy. To get them to that level of stress, they'd need to be getting constantly harassed by Godzilla and human military units, psychically bombarded by Mothra, and on top of that probably getting gaslit to hell and back by Rodan re: their relationship status so they couldn't be confident of where they stood with him—and that leads into the other factor that's necessary for this scenario to happen. Rodan would need to 1) insist to Ghidorah that he's the only one Rodan's got any sort of sexual/romantic involvement with, and 2) convince him that the stability and continued existence of their relationship is predicated upon Rodan being interested in only Ghidorah. They'd need to be specifically convinced of these things first in order to feel lied to/betrayed if Rodan had a relationship of any kind with someone else, because they wouldn't naturally assume either of them.
Since we've got no evidence Rodan is a raging abusive asshole who would go out of his way to convince an ignorant alien that their happiness is dependent upon Rodan being exclusive and then go off and not be exclusive, this scenario isn't happening.
2) Actually likely scenario, bad outcome: Rodan comes home and Ghidorah asks where he's been all day and he goes, oh yeah, he found another member of his species today, they're gonna try to make eggs, it's great—because to Rodan that's no big deal, that's normal, he's got absolutely no reason not to tell his mate that he's banging another bird. Ghidorah gets nervous solely because they DON'T know what's normal here. They don't know whether monogamy or polyamory is the norm for Earth in general or Rodan in particular. Are they still a thing or is this Rodan's way of saying the relationship's run its course and he's moved on? Was he always planning to move on once someone of his own species became available? Was he expecting Ghidorah to expect that? Because they did expect that, they've always feared they were just a temporary substitute for a more desirable partner, they just didn't know if they were supposed to expect that. At which point they go "oh" and Rodan goes "'oh' what?" and they go "so is that it then?" and he goes "is what it?" and they actually communicate for thirty seconds and everything's fine. So hey the bad outcome isn't even bad. It probably just takes them a month to have that conversation while Ghidorah invents mental worst case scenarios.
3) Actually likely scenario, good outcome: Rodan comes home and Ghidorah asks where he's been all day and he goes, oh yeah, he found another member of his species today, they're gonna try to make eggs— And Ghidorah goes EXCUSE US if they're in a relationship with him and he's in a relationship with her then that means they and he and she are all part of the same flock and they are DEEPLY offended that he hasn't brought her by to meet them yet, come on, go get her, they need to know what she looks like so they don't accidentally get in a fight with her if they see her in Rodan's territory. Also they need to know where her volcano is so they can get their scent all over it.

SnK Chapter 119 Poll Results
The chapter 119 poll closed with 2,021 responses. Thank you to everyone who participated!
RATE THE CHAPTER 1,942 Responses
This chapter was a roller coaster of action and emotional turmoil, clearly affecting the majority of the fandom, with 92.7% of respondents giving it either a 4 or a 5 rating.
Well, Isayama. Mission accomplished. This chapter did phenomenally hurt me.
Colt became one of my new favorite characters. This is the only series where I can say I'm happy one of my favorites is dead, because that means they don't have to suffer anymore...
don't lose your head now, we are almost in the end
Entertaining chapter, but with some glaring inconsistencies
To me, it was one of the most nerve wracking, emotional, and plot twist chapters that I've ever read in this series.
Isayama one of the madman. That's it. That's the whole thoughts.
WHICH OF THE FOLLOWING WAS YOUR FAVORITE MOMENT? 1,949 Responses
Our top three fave moments were Colt hugging Falco as he transformed (28.7%), Gabi shooting Eren (21.3%) and Porco sacrificing himself to save Falco and Reiner (17.1%).
Eren getting his head blown off is my favorite manga moment since the Armored/Colossal Titan reveal... hands down. Might be even better, depends on what happens next
The Zeke scream was my favorite moment. It was so epic, I just can't wait for the anime to use YouSeeBigGirl or 2volt in this scene. It's my favorite moment as a manga reader after Willy Tybur's speech
Colt died a selfless, loyal big brother, and that's all there is to say about that.
Eren getting his head blown off is the best thing to ever happen. We know it means jack shit for him, but we got soooo many great memes. It's a good time to be alive.
I never really had strong opinions on Colt before, but he is 100% best Oniisan, being with his frightened younger brother til the end
Porco went too soon 😢
This poll was also inconsistent this month, I couldn’t vote for Pyxis drinking as my favourite moment.
WHO WAS THIS CHAPTER’S MVP? 1,941 Responses
With so many characters to choose from, it’s surprising but exciting that Porco won this chapter MVP by a landslide. Perhaps even more surprising, however, is Gabi coming in at #2.
I'm so proud Porco.
#GabiGang rise up!
I’m glad that everyone’s eyes have been opened to the fact that Porco is - was - a great character
Colt was too good for this world.
Gabi shoot Eren’s head off was strangely cathartic
Porco the real mvp and you all know it
Even though I don't like Porco, and never have, I will admit he was kind of the MVP this round. Reiner kicked more ass than he did at every given opportunity, dude was kinda useless tbh, so it's cool that he finally served some kind of purpose.
Badass Gabi is best Gabi
The Grice brothers were the only Marleyans I liked from the get-go, so this chapter was yet another wrench in the heart (thanks again, Yams!) Colt was totally the MVP in this entire arc, as far as I'm concerned. His last words to Falco were absolutely heartbreaking. My poor boys. :( Falco's guilt will be devastating to see.
Never cared about Porco before. But this time...
*crying like an idiot*
WHICH MEMBER OF THE 104TH HAD THE BEST SHOWING THIS CHAPTER? 1,919 Responses
The members of the 104th are finally out of jail and back in action! 47.5% think Armin’s epic use of a thunder spear shot him into first place, while 33% think Mikasa, who went to fight the Cart along with him was the standout.
Armin was so cool this chapter <3
Connie & Jean was unexpected
Floch just die already...
So one of Armin's major characteristics throughout the manga up until this point has been him whining about how weak he is and how he never gets better at the gear and how he's such a burden, and now, suddenly, miraculously, he's keeping up with an Ackerman. Amazing plot armor there, Isayama, truly amazing. It certainly would be nice if the other side got even half the advantages that the Paradise crew does. Imagine what a fair and balanced battle would look like!
Mah boi Floch seems to be the only survivor of the attack on the carttitan... he definetly knows how to survive
I love the Armin and Mikasa duo action. I also hope Armin will transform soon
Armin now is so close to Magath. I want to see him try to negotiate with him, but I also want to see him go colossal already ahhhh.
floch suffers again
ARUMIKA GANG, RISE UP. JEANCON GANG, RISE UP.
I miss Sasha :(
WHICH WARRIOR HAD THE BEST SHOWING THIS MONTH? 1,941 Responses
The warriors got a lot of action as well as emotional play this month, and though polls in the past have shown Porco as unpopular, 59.4% of you chose him as the MVP among his comrades. 11.4% think Colt finally stood out from the crowd, 9.7% selected Gabi, and 8.6% chose the sufferboi Reiner.
Best bois: Porco and Colt Best girl: Gab Gab
M V PIECK!!
All of them? Seriously they all did great this chapter despite literally half of these kids dying or being in danger.
I was truly surprised by gabi shooting eren, but god that was awesome i loved it
I hadn’t even liked Porco or Colt before but damn did they earn my respect.
mad props to Gabi for being such a badass that she was able to dig Colt’s rifle out from under his burnt body in order to fire on Eren. Being able to think so clearly and take action even under the weight of her horror and grief was incredible.
Originally Falco was the only non-Paradis character I liked. Now we can all Colt to that list. Shame he had to die in order for me to feel this way.
Falco was the only one who didn't do a whole lot this chapter but a large majority of them got a moment to be recognized as the type of person they are.
WHICH BROTHERLY PAIRING SPOKE TO YOU THE MOST THIS CHAPTER? 1,945 Responses
Colt trying to do everything in his power to protect Falco is what touched the majority of the fandom’s hearts, earning them a solid 80% of the vote. At a very distant second, 10.2% of the fandom were most emotionally touched by Eren and Zeke’s desperation to make contact with each other, only to be ruthlessly denied in the end.
I think Colt and Falco scene was one of the best scenes in all manga, so emotional
WILL REINER EVER SUCCEED IN KILLING HIMSELF? 1,941 Responses
Sorry, Reiner, but most (90.8%) of us don’t think you’re going to have any success in ending your own life. ….But look on the bright side: 11.9% think that maybe you’ll get lucky and somebody else will kill you!
Let Reiner die in peace already, Isayama!
I love that my baby boy Reiner is still alive. 😭
No wonder Reiner wanted to be like Marcel, at least that kid didn't fail at suicide.
ON A SCALE OF "DEAR GOD!" TO "I'VE SEEN WORSE" HOW HORRIFYING WAS FALCO’S TITAN? 1,944 Responses
64% of the fandom veered towards “Dear god!” in response to Falco’s horrific titan form. Only 7.6% replied with confidence that they’d seen worse.
Falco’s titan looks like a hybrid of Cheese from Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends and Dead Hand from Legend of Zelda: OOT. So horrifying that I can’t not look at it.
Falco gets a medal for having the creepiest mindless titan.
MAN F****** that jaw titan is a problem!
Two things I did not need to see this chapter were Falco's mindless titan form and a decapitated Eren. So much horror, so little beauty…
Why are Falco’s Titan’s teeth in hIS NOSE WTF
WHO WOULD YOU HAVE PREFERRED FALCO TO EAT OF THE TWO? 1,929 Responses
Porco oh so barely edged out Reiner as the person we’d most prefer Falco to have eaten. Looking at the comments, popularity had nothing to do with this. Rather many people seemed to think that dying for Falco was a more fitting gesture for Reiner’s arc.
Disappointing because the Jaws died. Reiner easily could’ve got out his nape and let Falco eat him, we didn’t need to lose Porco.
I feel bad for reiner, becouse he could get his redemtion and complete his perfect development and he lost this oportunity,
I WANT PORCO BACK
i'm pretty frustrated that falco didn't get the armored titan, half because i want reiner to finally have some peace and also because i really wanted to see an armored titan falco.
WHICH CHARACTER HAD THE MOST MOVING SWAN SONG? 1,933 Responses
38.8% of respondents were moved the most this chapter by Colt and Falco’s brotherly love for one another. 26.2% most enjoyed Porco’s sacrifice that couldn’t have happened without a little classic Porco sass. 18.5% are really feeling it for Nile and how he tried to save one child while knowing he’ll never see his own again. Pixis, at least you were still able to enjoy one last swig.
I liked Pixis accepting his fate while Zeke screamed
WHILE COLT'S DECISION TO STAY WITH FALCO WAS TRAGICALLY BEAUTIFUL, IT DIDN'T SERVE A LOT OF PURPOSE. IN YOUR OPINION, IT WAS... 1,942 Responses
In a chapter filled with so much death, does Colt’s stand out? Was it even necessary? 47.2% feel that his decision to stay by his brother’s side was understandable but unreasonable given the circumstances. 36.1% went with the simple explanation of “Tragic”, where only 8.8% thought his choice was 100% heroic.
I cried when Colt hugged Falco
Colt....I understand you're distraught about your precious lil bro being titanized, but there's a snackalicious founding titan running towards a fuzzy ass monkey, you could've helped in SOME way!
Anyways Colt’s death although it wasn’t necessary was very moving for me, which is the first time anyone from Marley except Falco has provoked any feelings in me to be honest.
Colt is getting unreasonable amount of crap for choosing to stay by Falco's side. I don't blame Colt at all, for seeing no immediate master plan to keep going. His instincts went right to big brother mode, to a self-sacrificing degree. And god help you if you can't appreciate that kind of beauty without feeling the need to say how much better you would have done yourself.
I was shocked to see Colt die so soon, but at the same time, I can understand why he made the sacrifice here, and it was an emotional highpoint for me in this chapter. It's going to be sad seeing Falco's reaction when he learns what has become of his brother, but I think he will understand just how much Colt cared about him
Colt's decision to stay with Falco as the later was turning into a Pure Titan was unreasonable considering the heat of the transformation nearby would kill him, but he must've thought this was the only option left because he thought no one else would save Falco (he especially would never expect Porco to sacrifice himself for Falco) and thus couldn't bear to see his beloved brother be cursed into a Pure Titan, so he just wanted to be with Falco in what he thought would be the latter's true final moments as a human.
PORCO'S DECISION TO SACRIFICE HIMSELF WAS COMPOSED OF MANY FACTORS, BUT WHICH ONE DO YOU THINK STOOD OUT THE MOST? 1,915 Responses
Hearing Colt and Zeke’s back and forth about the lengths they’re willing to go to in order to ensure their little brother’s safety is what 44.6% of the fandom believes most motivated Porco to sacrifice himself to Falco. 25.7% felt that he was pushed the most by his unwillingness to meaninglessly die and have his titan power go to waste. For the remainder of the fandom, just a few more believe that his intent was to protect Reiner rather than saving Falco.
Porco only wanted to feel validated. He died because he was in a situation where he knew he wouldn’t survive, and once he knew the truth and felt validated, he was ready to let go and die. This is why in his final line he says that in the end, he was better than Reiner. Knowing the truth was enough for him to finally stop trying to be the best, to stop trying to show his worth, and to finally accept the fact that he couldn’t keep fighting in this battle.
If we're being honest, I was surprised to see Porco die. I wasn't expecting any of that. At least he can finally be at peace with his brother tho.
Porco’s sacrifice was one of the most noble we’ve seen so far in the series and showed a lot of character development. He’ll be sorely missed!
PORCO'S FIRST AND LAST LINES IN THE STORY WERE AIMED AT REINER. DO YOU THINK THEIR RELATIONSHIP CHANGED OVER THE TIME WE'VE WITNESSED IT? 1,918 Responses
The results were nearly split, with 34.8% of respondents feeling that Reiner and Porco’s relationship was starting to improve after Liberio, with the potential to become even better, while 34.1% felt that Porco let go of every negative feeling he had for Reiner when he realized the truth of Marcel’s sacrifice. 16.6% feel there wasn’t enough screen time to form an opinion, and 14.5% believe there was no change in dynamic by the end.
DO YOU AGREE WITH THE THEORIES THAT EREN HAS ALREADY ACTIVATED THE COORDINATE POWER? 1,922 Responses
While close to half the fandom believe that Coordinate power is still dormant in Eren, more than a third believe that there was enough strangeness this month to indicate that Eren has either touched Zeke already or had some other means of accessing the Coordinate power.
The entire chapter felt... off. Pixis teleporting from outside to inside drinking, Eren’s brotherhood of traveling pants, the whole Magath and Pieck thing, it just... seems weird.
Eren couldn't be using the coordinate rn simple because he needs royal blood...
I can go either way on the inconstancies, all of them seem like reasonable mistakes for a rushed chapter. But that also makes them just subtle enough to actually be clues that paths shit is happening
I think that the battle shown is a false battle created by the founding titans power and the real battle will be shown to an earlier Eren through a memory
I highly, HIGHLY doubt Eren pulled off some War Hammer Titan shenanigans or activated the Founding Titan's power beforehand to make it out of Gabi's shot. The stuff doesn't add up for these two.
WHAT WAS THE MOST GLARING SEEMING INCONSISTENCY? 1,912 Responses
“All of the above” was the favorite response to the question of inconsistencies in this chapter. Of those who made a choice, “Eren’s clothes magically reappearing” was the top pick (27.2%) followed by Pieck’s quick transformation after creating a skeletonized titan form last chapter (13.9%). While we listed several of the inconsistencies we’d noticed, the write-ins contained even more
All the above plus Porco changing out of a garrison uniform to a SC uniform
Bert's crater, and the waterway. But I want to say Eren's clothes because that has been inconsistent for 2 or 3 chapters now iirc, memory manipulation incoming.
Commander Pixis was out and suddenly was inside with other people who drank the spinal fluid
Eren getting hit by the Titan rifle by Magath and then suddenly being okay just after that.
Eren magically getting his shoes back after they got bit off by the jaws
Gabi being in the exact right place at the exact right time. If Eren had to "die" that couldn't have been set up better?
It might be me, but Gabi with the titan rifle. More so "how" she got it, as we can infer it was Colt's. The problem being that Colt had it on his back even after Falco's transformation. Being underneath a burning body (RIP Colt) and being in operable condition, it just seems off to me.
Mikasa magically changed positions at one point way too fast to be possible
No one seems to have mentioned that Gabi's hair is down when she shot Eren
Pixis teleporting from riding a horse to chilling with a drink
Reiner's sudden in-Titan beard is what got me
The three false connections between Eren's clothes (we see once he has a white shirt in his titan, once he is naked and once he had in fact his usual "sweatshirt") I mean, come on, decide on what the boy's wearing Yams.
The Gabi riding a horse wasn't really a "inconsistency" because she spent a month in those Braus stables so of course she'll learn how to ride one in a month.
FALCO FINALLY BECAME A TITAN, SURPRISING NO ONE. OF THE FOLLOWING NAMED MINDLESS “PURE” TITANS, WHICH WILL BE THE ONE FUELING YOUR NIGHTMARES? 1,922 Responses
Perhaps it could be recency bias, but Falco takes the top spot with 31.2% of the fandom deeming him as the most “nightmare fuel” of the pure titans we listed above. 25.4% still abhor the “flaming turkey” or “meatloaf” titan that is Rod Reiss. 20.3% are forever haunted by the Gluttonous Titan.
Armin titan will forever fuel my nightmares, he ate best boi Bertl
Manga Rod Reiss's Titan didn't do much for me. Anime version was the stuff of fucking nightmares.
BEST NAME FOR FALCO'S TITAN FORM? 1,900 Responses
With an… interesting new titan design, it’s time to name it! Just edging out Big Bird, Pac-Man titan is the winner! Third place goes to Muppet Waka Waka, followed by Bob’s Burger Titan.

DID ZEKE CARE ABOUT COLT OR FALCO? 1,940 Responses
Zeke, who’s not known for his empathy as a defining trait, heard out Colt when he pleaded for Zeke to spare his little brother. 54.8% of you think Zeke cared a little bit, 30.8% thinks he cared a lot, and 14.4% thinks he didn’t care one bit.
When I say Zeke cared a little about Falco and Colt, I do mean *a little*. Like, the littlest little you can care about someone before you care not at all. If Zeke caring was a scale of 0 to 100, he cared about at about a 4.
I really thought Zeke wasnt going to scream
Zeke was self-righteous as usual, nothing new here.
Zeke just shattered his belief that anyone cared enough to possibly aid him in his personal goal to help his little brother.
I think HE thinks he cares, but he’s more attached to the idea of himself as a person who cares and is acting out of compassion for the greater good of eldians and the world, and the truth is he doesn’t have any actual attachment and fondness for them as individuals. The trauma of betraying his parents and eating Xaver rendered him basically incapable of forming true bonds of affection.
Colt developed a considerable bond with the person who was supposed to give him his Titan power in the near future, he had the impression Zeke was not the kind of person to put a child in dire situations, so he tried to remind him of that. He never thought Zeke would do the impossible and turn his brother into a Pure Titan despite telling him the situation. The shock on Colt's face when Zeke apologizes for what he is about to do really shows that.
Fuck Zeke
Maybe Zeke will have a change of heart, maybe he will sulk into a state of depression and failure. I really hope someone convinces Zeke that suffering will always permeate in this world and the only thing he can do is hope for a better ending than how this chapter ended.
zeke is the real life definition of a nutsack
IS THE JAW TITAN’S OWNER ALWAYS DESTINED TO SACRIFICE HIM-/HERSELF? 1,909 Responses
Crazily enough, this was nearly a three-way tie! 33.4% feel that the Jaw titan wasn’t a factor at all in Marcel, Ymir and Porco’s decision to sacrifice themselves for someone else, but rather that’s just the type of people they are. 32.6% feel that the Jaw titan is absolutely a factor, and that it is a trait or the will of this titan to sacrifice itself for others. 31.4% believe that the Jaw Titan’s will drives its holders to protect the Armored Titan only.
It better not be, because that means Falco's next. And we all know who he's constantly protecting with his life…
It‘s coincidence but it‘s ironic how everyone of them sacrificed themselves for Reiner.
I don't know but they need to stop.
It’s the shifter’s choice to sacrifice themselves. It’s not some destiny tf you smoking.
P A T H S
Zeke was given the wrong titan. That's all I have to say.
DO YOU THINK EREN HAD HOPED TO TOUCH ZEKE BEFORE HE COULD SCREAM AND TITANIZE THE MPS AND FALCO? 1,937 Responses
The majority (71.4%) of the fandom are confident that Eren’s expressions and actions are proof that he was hoping to avoid Zeke screaming and titanizing everyone who’s had a swig of the spine wine. 22.5% aren’t sure, or don’t want to say either way, while a smaller percentage feel that Eren probably didn’t care if Zeke screamed, or maybe even planned for it.
For the first time in a while, Eren's face shows that he is not in control of the situation
I think he looked horrified when Zeke screamed, and I want to think that he hoped to use the Founding Titan's power before then. :( I'm also holding out for a reversal of this titanisation IF Eren does survive and manages to touch Zeke.
HOW DO YOU VIEW GABI'S ACTIONS? 1,941 Responses
Gabi has made some questionable decisions in the past, and has been the source of a great deal of controversy. That does not seem to be the case this time around, with ~51% of respondents acknowledging that her actions this chapter seemed to make sense, and an additional ~9% being proudly in her corner waving #GABIGANG flags. Only 8.4% thought that her character development was undone by her latest act of violence… Whether her actions were justified or not, the remaining 31.8% just hope that Gabi is kept away from guns for the foreseeable future.
Gabi's actions are perfectly understandable. She knows sees the Paradis differently but that doesn't mean she sees or understand the person who destroyed her home and killed her friend.
Congratulations Gabi, you have a knack for finding new and inventive ways to utterly RUIN this series for me. You were a mistake that never should have been made.
Eren getting his head blown off is *chef kiss* (Also lol karma)
Eren is my favorite character and even I was like "Gabi did nothing wrong."
LAST MONTH WHEN WE ASKED WHO WAS MOST LIKELY TO DIE, THE WINNERS (LOSERS?) WERE FLOCH (741 VOTES), THE SENIOR MILITARY (650), REINER (598), CONNIE (594), PORCO (588), AND YELENA (583). LET’S TRY AGAIN. WHO’S NEXT TO GO IN THIS BATTLE? 1,918 Responses
Magath and Peick are this month winners for most likely to die next with 20% of the vote each. Floch and Zeke follow with 17.8% and 14% of the vote respectively.
I hope mikasa and armin spare pieck.
I hope that Mikasa and Armin totally destroys Pieck in the next chapter~!
#Zeke_LIVE! #Keep_your_little_brother_safe_you_promised!
I seriously think both Floch and Reiner are going to live to the end. These two especially seem to be really good at surviving, it's been a pattern now
I've recently noticed death flags on Louise since she was introduced, we didn't saw her in this chapter but there are chances that the poor girl will not survive until the end.
Also I'm so glad the fandom was wrong and Falco DIDN'T eat Reiner. However, this chapter is raising massive death flags for Gabi. I hope she won't die next chapter.
Eren is too determined to die. He'll just keep going like a head-less chicken. Like those Cuccos from The Legend of Zelda that refuse to die!
I feel guilty now that in last chapter's poll when it's asked who will die i picked Eren, and now it's a possibility that he's actually dead. But I still want to hug and protect him, my son, even if he's in pieces haha
WHICH EXPECTED UNEXPECTED TWIST ISAYAMA IS GOING TO USE TO KEEP EREN ALIVE? 1,926 Responses
OMG ERENS DEAD NOOOOOOO- well, probably not. Only 5.2% think this is the end of the line for our protagonist. The two most popular options were that he transferred his consciousness, and that Bucket Girl will intervene; with 24.6% and 24.1% respectively.
A mix between being saved by the bucket girl and him transferring his consciousness throughout his body.
Eren is dead, timeloop shenanigans begin.
He uses the last of his power to shift. That, or Zeke catches his head and he uses the founder to grow a new body.
Regeneration: Deadpool style
He will have a long chat with Ymir in the PATHS dimension and rewrite history
Head lands in Zeke’s hand before his brain dies and it’s good enough to count
His consciousness is safe and sound in his left butt cheek.
his consciousness is now in his left testicle
We need explanation about the P A T H S already! Isayama will take advantage of "Eren's death" to let him met the little girl (who everyone here suspects that is indeed Ymir Fritz) and reveal the Great Titan War, The Devil of the Earth, etc etc (and ofc the possibility of seeing him naked again lmao)
Isayama likes Game of Thrones. Therefore, like with Jon Snow, Eren will be kept dead for few chapters (preferably 3 till end of this volume). Then he rises - probably with bucket girl help.
HOW HAS YOUR OPINION ON THE FOLLOWING CHARACTERS CHANGED?
The winners for “more favorable” were Porco and Colt with each getting a huge surge in popularity. On the other side of the spectrum were Gabi and Zeke. While most selected “unchanged”, they still had the largest numbers of people indicating they viewed them less favorably after this chapter.
105: "Imma make Gabi the most hated character in the series" 119: "Hold my beer"
Every time when I'm thinking Zeke can't turn any more awful Isayama proves me wrong. That chapter is a really low blow. Just catapult him on lone island far far away from people he can hurt.
I never thought I could hate Zeke more than I already had. But after Colt absolutely humiliated himself to save Falco and Zeke just screamed...As long as Zeke’s alive horrible things will keep happening.
WHAT WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO SEE NEXT CHAPTER? 1,923 Responses
27.2% of respondents are determined to keep the focus in Shiganshina, and don’t care what happens next so long as we aren’t taken off the battlefield just yet. 25% are anxious to hear news on Levi and Hange’s whereabouts and condition. 20.4% are hopeful that Eren will recover and finally be able to touch Zeke. 10.2% are still hanging on for Annie…. Someday she’ll come out….. someday….
I want to see Yelena next. We get this chapter one panel to her and this panel was strange as fuck. Something is up with her and I have the feeling that her existence will playing a huge role in the plot. I don't know, but I hope to get a flashback to her.
ah, yes, this was such a horrifically tragic chapter *sheds tear* .....anyway, now that eren’s injured CAN WE SEE LEVI AND HANJI ??
Chapter 120: "Oh boy, I can't wait to see what happened to Ere-" *MEANWHILE, WITH HANGE AND LEVI...*
Pls dont switch to Levi and hange next chapter
Annie's never going to show up, huh?
I'm itching to see Historia, Levi, and Hange, as always, but what I really want to see in the next chapter is Mikasa's reaction to Eren's decapitation.
Let Eren and Zeke touch already >:v
AT THIS POINT, AROUND WHICH CHAPTER DO EXPECT THE MANGA WILL CONCLUDE? 1,856 Responses
With lots of news on the ending coming out recently, from the final manga exhibition, to Season 4 being announced as the final season, discussion on where the series will end has been very common lately. 44.1% think it will end with 130, next June. 30.3% think it will end a volume later at 134 in October, the same month the final season premiers. 14.1% think it’ll still be going while the final season is airing, going to 138 or beyond. 9.3% think it will end a tad sooner, at 126 in February.
WHERE DO YOU PRIMARILY DISCUSS THE SERIES? 1,841 Responses
ADDITIONAL THOUGHTS ON THE CHAPTER?
I think there's a possibility that Eren might be dead dead, but his legacy will live through his last wish, supposing Zeke catches his head.
At this point of the story I'm happy Annie is still chilling in her crystal, away from the bloodbath
I never would have thought we would see Falco eating Porco and obtaining the Jaw titan or seeing Eren's head just fuckin fly through the air this chapter was insane.
As much as I dislike Floch, I def do want to see what his reaction will be to Eren’s “death,” even more than I want to see Jean’s and Connie’s tbh.
What I want to know is why do all the people with more use to the story survive when guys like Niccolo who's usefulness to the story ended when the heat from Sasha's death get to stick around?
I don't think Gabi is a bad character, but to me it almost feels like she is just getting in the way of the story progressing. I do however think her actions are understandable for her character, but from a reader's perspective it annoys me.
*Whispers* Ok, but is it possible Porco's alive? and maybe Colt can pull an Armin or survive via P A T H S Magic?
Flying head memes are the best
I was astonished at what a weight it lifted off my chest and how much more forgiving I could be after seeing Eren “I’m too good to tell anyone my plan, I work alone and I’ve always hated you” Jaeger fail so hard that Zeke screamed, Connie, Jean, Armin, and Mikasa all had to save Eren, and he was “killed” by a twelve-year-old.
I actually didn't hate Gabi at first despite killing Sasha. But now whatever development she had is gone and since she is now established as a murderer, I am now aboard the "I Hate Gabi" train.
God, I really hope the next chapter is good because it's at a really pivotal point that could make or break this last arc.
I am very willing to make allowances for the inconsistencies so the chapter itself was very good in my opinion. The story progressed well, awesome action sequences, expectations subverted, suffering continued; therefore, good chapter.
I don't think Eren will return physically, but his presence will remain somehow through PATHS. The title of this manga is Shingeki no Kyojin, not Eren, so the story can resolve itself with the Attack Titan being inherited and Eren's memories explored.
It's a little rushed, but I like the idea and hope Isayama can pull these loose strands together to create an impactful finale.
I don't understand all this Gabi hate. Eren has always been a threat to her eyes : in Liberio's Festival when he brought by his actions death to her home and friends, in the room where he was odious to Armin and Mikasa and threatening them with a wound on his hand, when Pieck -who explained to her the world isn't black and white- designed him as the enemy and here, and here right before her child eyes, because of his and Zeke's plan, Gabi is there when Falco transforms into a titan, killing Colt in the process. It's understandable she was angry and reacted like that.
I know eren isnt dead, but idk how isayama is gonna pull it off without it feeling cheap
I liked it and it was very surprising! Tho it’s time Historia is shown again and Levi and Hange need to come back very soon as well.
I feel like a worrying number of readers seem to have somehow missed the fact Eren is meant to be a major antagonist of this arc lol
I'm torn over that ending. It had the potential to be such a powerful moment, but it just didn't do it for me.
I've never been so upset at a characters death before, not even Armins... Like Jean said to Eren about Marco: "Not everyone gets to go out in a blaze of glory." What a horrible way to go
Isayama delivers every single month.
Isayama. . . Eren internal monologue. . . . . . . when?
I'm excited to see what comes next, but I'd like to jump back to characters like Levi, Hange, Annie, and Historia first so that everyone can come together for a big finale. You can feel that the manga is reaching its conclusion.
Commander Pixis turning into a titan sigh so long dog. All the commanders except Hanje kicked the bucket
Oh boy. This chapter had me bawling. Colt and Porco' s deaths hit me hard. "Your big brother will be with you, always"....damn that hurt.
Shits going down and I'm here hoping to see Armin transforms just to piss Reiner off
Such a mindblowing chapter, I enjoyed it thoroughly. I was utterly speechless when Eren's head flew off. Isayama the madlad
Interesting seeing Porco receive path memories From Eren via Porco. The coordinate is the key to getting vivid memories from past shifters which almost certainly means Eren has access to Kruger’s memories with a little help from Historia.
Wouldn't it be funny if they suddenly cut to Levi and Hange for the next few months
WOW, this chapter was absolutely nerve-wracking! This one may just be the biggest emotional roller coaster ride yet with all those major character deaths and that jaw-dropping cliffhanger!
The start of every month sees a spike in my blood pressure as well as how much I pray while opening my browser to check if the latest chapter is up. Thanks, Isayama. Not only have you made me more religious, you've also made me more stressed out about a manga than exams and applications.

Since nobody told me not to, here is that lets call it a super short Shou Tucker character study that nobody asked for! I was in a weird horror mood and this reflects that. Anyway, it contains exactly what you think it does, so read if you want to. YEET
He had taken her small hand in his own and led her to the basement. Alexander padded behind them, because he was a good dog. Sure, he’d started as a simple distraction to keep her from asking about where her mother was and when she would be coming back, but the dog had proven quite useful. A large dog was perhaps the best security. Made sure he could lock up whenever anyone came over. He couldn’t let them know what he was doing. What he had done. Shou had found himself grateful for Alexander now. The dog was calm, so Nina was calm. This was all easier without a fight.
“Come on Alexander! We have to help daddy!” The hand that wasn’t latched onto his found the dog’s collar. “We’re gonna be the best helpers, right daddy?”
He’d turned and forced a smile, “Of course!”
“Yay!” She squeezed his hand.
Shou’s heart sank. She’d been happy. Excited even, to help in the lab. Guilt, like bile, sat at the back of his throat with every step they’d taken down into the basement.
It was fine! Or it would be… He would figure out how to separate them. As soon as he was assessed he would fix this. He only hoped it would be enough. To harm them and gain nothing would be wrong. This was for them, after all. Afterwards, they would move. Yes, they would pack up and move far away from the capital and maybe he could retire from being a state alchemist. He could teach or something else that didn’t involve military research and the pressure that came with it. Everything was going to be alright. He just needed to do this.
He needed to.
It was the only option he had left.
They would understand. He hoped they would understand. Secretly, he hoped Nina wouldn’t remember. He could make sure she wouldn’t remember, but that seemed like it was a step too far. It was unclear where the line was anymore. It was more unclear whether or not that line even mattered.
They reached the basement and he knelt before his daughter. She and the dog stood in the middle of the transmutation circle he’d meticulously drawn hours prior. His hands trembled as they rose to rest on her shoulders. They were so small. Smaller than his palms. Thin enough that he could feel her fragile bones beneath his fingers. She was frail, and for a brief, horrifying moment, he wasn’t sure she’d actually survive the first transmutation.
No. No she would be alright. He knew what he was doing. He had learned from last time, and children were resilient. Nina was no exception, he was sure of that. She rarely cried even when she was hurt. Things like scraped knees were rarely presented to him in anything other than a matter of fact way, and were always solved with a bandage and a kiss on the cheek. She was a strong kid.
She would be fine. He was going to do this right and she was going to be fine. Shou took a breath and held it. Just a moment to steady his hands. Another to steady his mind. Nina watched him, her eyes bright. She had her mother’s eyes. The same eyes that had watched him fail before. It would be different this time. It had to be different this time. She wouldn’t die and she certainly wouldn’t see him fail.
“I need you to close your eyes and count to twenty for me.”
“I can count even higher than that, daddy!” She giggled.
He smiled, “Okay, count as high as you can.”
Nina nodded and started counting. Alexander sat, his tail wagging lazily. He could stand up right now and try something else. Surely there was a drifter or two he could use instead.
“One, two, three…”
No. It had to be her. There wasn’t time to find someone else. They would be checking his progress within the next week. They were coming and he still needed time to take notes and make observations. He needed time he didn’t have. Shou leaned closed the distance between them and pressed a kiss to her forehead. He pushed away the thoughts that this might be the last time he can do that.
“Four, five, six…”
Another breath to steal his nerves. He made sure he was outside of the circle. That would have been far messier than he could deal with. Three entities combined… Another time. He would investigate that another time if he stayed on with the military. That was surely something they would be interested in funding. Perhaps then he could start taking time to raise her properly. He was sure his own anxieties and frequent absence were starting to take their toll on her.
“Seven, eight, nine…”
He closed his eyes and pressed his palms together before pressing them to the floor. There was a moment. A flash of light that shone even through his eyelids. A distorted cry that stopped just as soon as it started. Then it was over. He’d done it and there was no going back. His stomach lurched at the thought of opening his eyes and seeing what he had done. What he had created.
Another breath to slow his heart rate. One more just to stall. His hands came to rest on his thighs. They balled into fists. Another moment. Please just let him have another moment to not face what he had done. Perhaps he would open them and she would still be there. Same as always. She’d smile and wrap her arms around his neck and be so proud of helping him.
The silence around him screamed otherwise.
His eyes opened, and he shut them again immediately. It was too much. He didn’t want the thing before him to be real. He allowed himself one more moment of denial before his eyes opened again.
The chimera lifted its head and looked at him. Shou nearly retched. All that stopped him was knowing, well suspecting really, that what he'd made could still feel. The full weight of what he had done, all of the implications, hit him all at once. His daughter. His child was now this… this thing. And it was his fault. For what? A paycheck? Prestige? To cease the constant reminders from those above him that they could easily take Nina from him? Now they couldn't. They would have to be together-
"Da...ddy…"
She- it?- they could talk! It had worked! A chimera capable of speech! One that was young enough to not plead for death in front of his superiors. One that would be obedient for the most part. He shuffled forward on his knees and reached out a single shaking hand to rest on their forehead. "Nina?"
"...Hurts…"
Bile rose and stung his throat. It wasn't supposed to- it shouldn't have hurt! He'd worked that out! He tried to brush the hair from their face to see if they were remotely recognizable. Not at all. That, at least, was good.
"Sor...ry... can't ...count…. more."
The halting speech. Another reminder of his failure to learn a damn thing from last time. They were in agony and now he wasn't sure this could be undone. "Its alright. You did really well. I'm proud of you."
The wagging tail. The wet nose pressed to his cheek. Knives driven into his chest. He stood and stepped back out of the circle. This was all wrong he'd have to start from scratch. State alchemy be damned. Maybe they could give him more time. He checked the circle. No damage had been done. Quickly he etched new symbols into it. It should be enough to undo this. That's what his research said.
One more try. A deep breath. His eyes squeezed shut again as his palms pressed to the floor. A bright light.
He opened his eyes, now excited to see them separated. Except they weren't. Shock, this time, was merely a numb horror. His limbs were heavy with the weight of his failure. Somehow nothing changed. Again he moved forward. Towards his creation. This time he wrapped his arms tight around them. "I'm sorry."
It seemed pathetic. To only apologize for what he'd done. He deserved nothing. No forgiveness. No closure. Nothing at all. There were footsteps above him now. Perhaps someone had seen. Perhaps he'd be taken away or killed for his crimes. He knew which he preferred. Except…. Who would take care of Nina then? They wouldn't know how. The steps halted at the top of the stairs. They'd have to keep him. To take care of her. If they wanted to learn anything. The thought revolted him. Just one more thing to add to the ever growing list of things that revolted him.
"Can… we… play?"
He wished this was a nightmare. That he'd wake up and be a good man.
But he wasn't. He was a coward at best, and at worst, well, at worst wasn't something he could bare to think about right now. "Later, dear. Right now, it seems we have guests."

concept developed after reading baby!matt in the sprawl: adventures in spider-babysitting. can you imagine the super/vigilante community/spiderverse gang + co. dealing with spiderman but small. bite-sized. little baby hands as spider-sticky as always. theres a baby on the ceiling. good god
Hi Anon.
Not quite what you asked for, but here’s some baby Pete from Tony’s POV I wrote yesterday to play with this concept. I don’t write Tony very much for many reasons, but I thought that this time, it might be pretty cute.
It cuts off kind of abruptly, but yeah. I didn’t really have the interest to finish it as a complete story. ANYWAYS
Long post under the cut (sorry mobile users!!)
“Tony,” Pepper said calmly, “I know that you want to help. But she is basically his mom.”
Yes, yes, yes.
But.
Consider this.
Small.
Pepper paused in typing and raised an eyebrow.
Tony got up in case she couldn’t see and showed her with hishands.
“Small,” he emphasized.
“Yes, he is very small,” she agreed.
“Very,” Tony told her firmly.
“And he is? Not our child?”
Yes, but again. Please consider: Small.
“So what I think I’m getting here is that you’re feelingpaternal today,” Pepper said during another pause in her typing.
Yes. Very.
“Why don’t we make a new baby robot then?” she offered himlike he was, himself, a child very studiously kicking the back of her seat in amovie theatre.
Because small.
“Tony. Peter is terrified of you right now.”
Yes, yes. But small, honey. So, so small.
“The second you touch him, he will start crying all overagain.”
Life is cruel.
“Have a seat, Tony. We will find you something small to holdin just a minute.”
Pete was always the size of a beansprout, height andwidth-wise, but at the present, he was but a bean. Sometimes, in their line ofwork, these things happen, and mostly they are unavoidable and Bruce and Dr.Cho had pronounced this particular affliction short-term and non-lethal andnone of that did anything to help the klaxons screaming in Tony’s head to gofind. And hold. The baby.
“You know, Tones, I think this might have affected you morethan him,” Bruce said, poking at him in the lab. Probably testing the frequencyat which he was fucking vibrating.
Must hold. The small.
“You stay here, Imma go get Rhodey.”
Yes, whatever, kindly fuck off unless there was a child inneed of holding in your possession.
Rhodey took one look at him and rolled his eyes and fuckedoff because he understood the highly complex workings of Tony’s mind. He cameback with a rabbit from one of the labs and stuffed it into his arms.
It was.
Unsatisfactory.
But closer.
“Tony. Peter is so scared of you right now, man,” Rhodeytold him.
Right. Yes. Logically, he knew this. But his brain would not compute. He could not make itstop fixating.
“He’s more scared of you then Barnes.”
Fucking horrible is what that was. Unfair on scales unknownto man. Peter and his smallness had, once separated from Tony, his apparent nightmare, wrapped tiny fingers aroundBarnes’s metal ones in silent fascination. Barnes was a baby-thief, however, and could not be trusted with children. They all ended up in Rogers’spossession and he was, every time, very confused. As were the police. Sam hadintervened to stop this this last time before it went to far and gave tiny, precious, baby-Pete a little toss which had banished the last of theTony-inspired upset and had resulted in giggling.
Tony had believed that what he had felt right then wasextreme jealously. He now knew this to be fact. He also knew that baby-Pete hadzero self-preservation instincts because preferred even Natasha’s company toTony’s.
It was problematic.
Everyone else got to hold baby-Pete, but not Tony. Tootraumatic.
Why.
May told him that it probably had to do with his facial hairwhich was horrifying. Like. Why. She said that this had always been a thing, but neglected to notice that half of Thor’s face was covered in fur and Sam hada moustache and goatee and there was no crying happening for those two.
“Yes, well. I guess they don’t seem very threatening,” shesaid, letting baby-Pete bury himself in her hair to hide from him.
He was so cute.
The universe was so hurtful.
Rhodey sighed and pet the rabbit while he clutched at it.
The moment of truth came when May brought Peter by for aquick check-up on Day two. Peter was very busy counting the beads on hernecklace. He was a great counter. For a toddler. That is. He was a very poorcounter by any other standard. He kept skipping the prime numbers with stunningaccuracy. No matter how many times May gently said, “One, two, three.” Healmost always started with “Fo’. Sis. Ni’.”
So cute.
So fucking cute.
Tony needed to sit down.
Rhodey told him that he was embarrassing the AvengersInitiative and he said, “I can’t fucking help it.” May got a phone call andasked Bruce if he could take her kid for a second. Bruce did, but notwillingly. Bruce didn’t deal with anything under the age of five. He could not.He didn’t understand their language or codes and he had very strong feelingsaround their breakability. So he handed Peter off to Rhodey as soon as hepossibly could. Rhodey saw Tony’s suffering and sighed.
“He’s just gonna start wailin’ Tones,” he said, bouncing thekid. Peter had become very interested in the seam of his sleeve.
Yes, yes, yes. But! But!
“I’m gonna give him to you, but you cannot, I repeat, cannotbe disappointed when he starts crying, we clear?”
Crystal.
“Alright.” Rhodey detached Peter from his shoulder andhanded him over to Tony’s hands and everything was fine. The klaxons shut offlike a switch had been flicked. Peter chewed on some fingers and looked up athim with big, liquid brown eyes. He did not scream. A good sign. He even dug afew of the fingers of the other hand into Tony’s shoulder. He was warm and softand so, so small.
After a moment, he stopped chewing and looked down to theground and cooed “Waaaay.”
“Oh yeah?” Tony asked him, adjusting him a little bit closerto his chest.
“Mm.”
Fuck.
Goddamnit.
“What’s down there?” Tony asked, looking down to see whatthe kid was staring at. The question brought Pete’s attention right back up tohis face. He blinked at Tony like he’d never seen him before. Tony practicallyfelt Rhodey brace for impact beside him.
But still. No crying.
Thank god.
“Hey, there. Welcome back,” Tony said, bouncing a bit.
Peter hummed at him again and patted gently at his face. Hislittle hands were warm and soft. Tony could die. He could die happy now. Noklaxons. No crying.
“I would kill for you,” he said mournfully. Peter leaned upand pressed their cheeks together. His was almost entirely chubby baby fat.Inconceivably soft. He was really into the rasp Tony’s own cheek made and wentto business giving himself beard burn in his enthusiasm. Tony had to pull himaway before he rubbed his face raw.
“You,” he told the boy seriously, “I would kill for you.”
Peter cocked his head like he hadn’t quite caught that. Tonyrepeated it for his edification. He accepted it with grace and went back tochewing on his fingers.
“Ah, he’s not scared of you today,” May noted when she cameback in from her phone call.
No. Praise be. He handed the child back and felt lessdesperate than before. She laughed at the visible relief on his face.
“He was pretty volatile the other day, don’t take itpersonally,” she said. “You should have seen him with Wade.”
Ahahahaha. Yeah.
Wait.
What?
Peter loved Wilson. He admired the fuck out of the guynormal-sized and was obsessed with him while fun-sized. May explained thatWilson had heard what had happened and had dropped in to make sure all wasright with their tiny family and to offer his services in the case of any bumpsin the road. He evidently had not planned on becoming Peter’s obsession.
“He’s kind of a natural,” May said, “Although, I’m not surehe’s overly comfortable with it.”
Yeah. You don’t say.
“Pete cried for nearly half an hour after he left, it waspretty surprising. He’s not much of a crier.”
You. don’t. Say.
“He’s fine, of course. Wade would never hurt him.”
No, because Tony would kill him if he did.
May took Peter’s tiny hand and had him wave to them all onthe way out, once a clean bill of health had been acquired. Pete didn’t seem tofully appreciate the gesture, but he was into the waving part and smiled widefor it, which was more than enough for Tony.
“I think I might have to murder Wilson,” he admitted toRhodey once they were gone.
“I think you’re being dramatic,” Rhodey said.
No, he was probably right.
He was definitely right.
Tony actually got to see this beautiful friendship when Maycalled him out of the blue and said that someone had bugged their house. She’dfelt a little uncomfortable as of late and so had called Wilson for aprofessional opinion and Wilson had located three bugs in the Parker residence. He was trying to do one last sweep when Tony got there to collect them. Tonysuspected it was SHIELD. He suspected this because Cap had had the same problemthe other day.
He didn’t make it a habit to go to the Parker residence andwas always taken aback by the sheer amount of foliage in the front room. Itlooked like May had pushed some of the more fragile containers to the backs ofshelves or moved them up out of the reach of tiny hands. But she needn’t beconcerned at the moment, because Peter was dead set on ruining Wilson’sbug-sweep.
He definitely thought that Wilson’s time was better used, inthat moment, in playing with him. Wilson, for his part, was just trying to dohis damn job for once. He’d take two steps and nearly trip over the kid andthen grab him and dump him on the couch, which Peter thought was the height ofexcitement. He scrambled off the couch and went to go throw himself back intoWilson’s field of vision as soon as humanly possible.
Wade, bless him, could only deal with this so much.
“Baby boy,” he said, holding Peter at eye level the thirdtime he’d done this, just in the time Tony had been there. “I am trying to do athing. You are being a very, very, verygood disrupter. The best disrupter.”
Peter decided this was high praise. When Wade tried to puthim back down on the couch this time, Peter whined and latched onto his neck.Wade gently extricated him and held his hands at his sides when he sat him downthis time.
“That’s a no,” he said firmly.
Peter made an upset hiccup.
Wade valiantly did not do what Tony would have done whichwas shatter to bits and give the kid anything he wanted.
“You stay here,” Wilson instructed. Then he let go of Pete’shands and stood up and went back to his careful sweeping.
Peter watched him for a few seconds before he got bored ofbeing in one place. He started to off the couch, but Wilson caught him in theact.
“Ah,” he said with a finger. Peter squirmed back into place.
A new game.
And Wilson knew it. He turned very slowly back to his work.Within moments, Pete was at it again.
“AH.”
Back on the cushion.
The kid practically rattled in happiness.
May hid her smile while she handed Tony the found bugs.Yeah. SHIELD grade. He sighed.
“Wilson, last time I ran into this, there was five.”
“Copy that. Here’s four.”
Huh. What do you know? Guy knew what he was doing. Tony tookthe fourth bug and inspected it for insignia. Peter made a noise of triumph.
Tony looked over and they all saw that he was proud ofhimself for having escaped the couch while Wilson had been occupied liberatingthe most recent bug. He’d latched himself to Wilson’s arm.
“Not this again,” Wade moaned.
Again?
“No sticking,” Wade threatened.
“Ya.”
“I said no.”
“Ya!”
“Aigh. If you’re fucking sticking—no, of course, you’resticking. Peter.”
Uh.
“He likes to stick to Wade’s suit,” May said evenly.
“PETER.”
Yeah, he was getting that impression.
“OFF.”
“No!”
“Yes!”
“Nooo!”
“Oh my god. Child. I am doing work.”
Tony very very rarely saw Wilson any kind of serious, so itwas kind of amazing to see him so put out.
“Way!”
“What?”
“Way!!”
“Volume does not equal clarity, tiny monster. What?”
Peter hunkered in, beyond happy with his work. He did notlet go of Wilson’s arm. He cuddled his forehead into Wilson’s pec and the guylegitimately took a few calming breaths.
“You,” he said slowly to the side of Peter’s head, “Are a lot.”
“Way.”
“Glad you know. Alright, fine. That’s your decision. Up wego.”
Peter, for whatever reason, was chill with latching ontoWade when he was on the ground, but as soon as there was air-time involved, this relationship broke down.
No.
He did not want to be held. Or carried. Or any of that. No.He wanted down. Immediately.
“No, no. We are making decisions today,” Wade said over thewhining. “You made that one, so you gotta live with it.”
Peter huffed and puffed and then hiccupped like he was goingto cry, but Wilson just carried on with his business, one-handed this time. Andsomehow, this ignoring process worked? Peter’s hiccupping settled down withWade’s jerky, searching movements. Peter watched his chin as he felt under ashelve blindly. He grabbed at it..
May smiled again and then turned to Tony and mouthed ‘anatural.’
Yeah, so it would seem.
Wilson found two more bugs and, once Peter had settled infor a nap and could be transferred to May’s arms without incident, completedone good last sweep and declared the home bug-free. He said that he needed totake off, he hadn’t anticipated this taking so much time. He informed May thathe’d be in touch and started to leave, but it was as if Peter had a fuckin’Wilson alert in his head. He woke up instantly. Wilson was half through thedoor when he startled just wailing. The way he had when Tony had tried to holdhim the first time.
Devastated. Devastating.
May shushed him and muffled him by tucking him into herneck. Wilson’s body spoke tons of guilt.
“He’s fine, Wade. Go ahead. Thank you for your help,” Maysaid.
Wilson nodded, hesitant. And then hurried off to whatevercrow’s nest he needed to go perch in.
Tony took the bugs back to the lab.
Peter didn’t want to play later that week, when Bruce wastrying to take his temperature. He scowled at the thermometer and hid in his aunt’sneck.
“Bad day?” Bruce asked once the child had been traumatizedto obtain the temp.
“Very,” May sighed. Tony felt bad for her. She was still asingle mom. She didn’t exactly have a whole lot of extra time or support inthis surprise toddler business. He’d offered to help, but while Pete was happyto be held by him, and by Pepper, he would not tolerate their prolongedpresence without his aunt. That was asking for tears and frustration.
May said that her husband had been a big help back whenPeter had first come to live with them. He hadn’t quite been this little, butBen, as an electrician, had had a little more flexibility in his schedule andso could do a lot of the childcare that May’s job didn’t really allow for.
It was harder without him and harder with a younger, traumatized kid who only had one relative to cling to. She mentioned offhandthat Wilson had babysat for her for a few hours that week, and that had gonefine. But she was thinking that maybe she’d ask Franklin Nelson to do it, sincehe was really good with kids this age.
And like?
Franklin Nelson? Like, the lawyer? The one who worked forHB&C? The guy who took the Jessica Jones and Punisher cases? That FranklinNelson?
“He’s a friend of our family,” May explained.
Huh.
No shit.
“Peter is very fond of his friend Matt.”
What, like. Matt Murdock, Matt? Infamous blind legalbulldog, Matt Murdock?
“That’s the one.”
Like. Okay? That was weird. Would he be alright with them?
“Oh, I’m sure of it.”
Well, if she was sure.
She asked if she could give Tony’s number to the lawyers incase something happened and she couldn’t leave work and she absolutely could dothat.
Tony heard not a peep from the lawyers the next day. Or theone after that. Franklin Nelson, he knew, was a very responsible guy. And if hewas used to little kids, then it made sense that he had the situation undercontrol.
Tony did, however, get a text from May respectfully askingif he could grab the kid and hold him for an hour or so, as her shift had beenunexpectedly prolonged.
Which was how Tony found himself in Hell’s Kitchen, underPepper’s orders to be respectful and not get shot, knocking on the closed upoffice door of Nelson, Murdock & Page.
Page, if he recalled, was the crazy reporter who picked afight with half of the hotshot murderers in the city. The Punisher. WilsonFisk. Union Allied. Gal didn’t know how to quit. He was somewhat surprisedthen, for the door to open to the lady herself with Peter securely settled on herhip.
“Go away, he’s mine,” she said. And closed the door.
Uh.
Awkward.
The door reopened to the tune of Nelson scolding hispartner. He invited Tony into the place with greater politeness. It was a hugechange from the guy’s old office at HB&C. Much tighter. Warmer. Very homey.
Karen Page had settled herself behind the secretary’s deskto bounce Peter in her lap. The kid hummed with the movement and seemed to becomforted by this.
“May said she was working late, but she didn’t have to sendyou around,” Nelson said. He himself had changed into warmer colors with themove it seemed. No more stiff blue suits for this guy. Tony could dig it.“Really, we can watch him until she’s done with work.”
“It’s fine, I’m being selfish, too,” Tony admitted offhandedly.Nelson seemed to understand this. He looked over to where Karen Page hadwrapped Pete up in her arms and was going through the ABCs with him. He mumbledalong, more or less in time.
“Kare, I’m afraid the time has come,” Nelson said withfinality.
“Noooooo.”
“Now is the time, girl. Nothing you can do.”
“Matt! Foggy is abusing me!”
“Thank you, I’ll take that.”
“Kidnapping, Matt! This man is kidnapping my ward!”
Peter went easily into Nelson’s arms and buried his fingersinto his collar. Page took it hard and slumped down in despair. Nelson cluckedat her and rolled his eyes and went to hand Peter over but two things happened.
One, Peter took the opportunity to stick to Nelson’s shirtand jacket and two, Murdock came out of his cave to investigate the aura ofdespair emitting from Page, who was evidently slowing descending to the flooras goo.
“We lose Karen?” Murdock asked in a surprisingly pleasanttone.
“That’s a yes. Peter, let go, honey.”
Ooh. Tricky. How to handle this one without revealing Peteto be Spiderkid. Tony moved forward and began to help Nelson dislodge thefingers. They did not come willingly and as soon as one hand was removed, Petermade an unhappy grunt and dug the other one in deeper.
“C’mon, kiddo,” Tony encouraged. No dice.
Murdock raised an eyebrow their way and then busied himselfcurling over the desk to tap at Page. Possibly to revive her. Who knew?
“Matty, can you come here?” Nelson finally asked when bothhis and Tony’s attempts had run their course. Pete wasn’t budging and he’dhidden his face in Nelson’s neck to prove it. Murdock lifted himself up frombehind the desk as if to say, ‘who? Me?”
“Matt.”
“Alright, alright.”
Wow, so begrudging.
Murdock kept a hand out when he moved forward without astick or anything to help him, and found Nelson’s shoulder without muchtrouble. He then, somewhat playfully, felt around until he was dancing fingersacross Peter’s face. The kid giggled.
“Who’s this?” Murdock asked.
More giggling.
“Well, certainly doesn’t seem like Foggy. Not grumpy enough.”
Nelson gave him a flat look that he couldn’t see, but musthave been able to somehow feel. Murdock had perfectly straight teeth. It waskind of eerie.
He trailed his hand a little further along until he wastickling Peter’s neck and, in his moment of weakness, swept the kid right offof Foggy’s shoulder. Like some kind of ninja. It happened so fast that Tonyalmost missed it entirely. Like.
How the fuck did he do that? Could he figure out wherePeter’s arms were just by sound?
Dude. He needed to look into how blind people experiencedthe world. That shit was incredible.
“Thank you,” Nelson sighed. Murdock tucked the kid into hisown neck. Nelson stiffened. “Matt. Matty. What are you doing?”
“Nothing.” He spun around and headed back towards hisoffice.
Oh.
Tony got it now.
“Matthew. Bring him back.”
“What? Can’t see you, Fogs. Can you speak a little louder?”
Nelson’s irritation, which Tony had seen go as high as afour out of ten, ratcheted up to a six in no time at all.
“You two are insufferable,” he said.
“WHAT?”
“WHAT, FOGGY?” Page echoed from the floor.
Nelson very clearly had strong feelings about his partnerswhich he was actively repressing to save face in front of Tony.
“I am so sorry. Give me five minutes,” he said and then leftTony standing in the waiting room while he went into Murdock’s office andclosed the door behind him. Two minutes passed in silence, then Page sniffedand picked herself up off the floor, collected her shit from her own office andheaded out. She resolutely called Tony a pig before she closed the door behindher, which was, in retrospect, understandable.
He didn’t know which part of his being in specific hadoffended her, but he was used to this treatment.
Nelson remerged around the three minute mark with a verygrumpy Peter once again in his arms, although this time, less interested inclinging to him. Apparently, he didn’t want to be separated from Murdock. Thiswas conveyed by the whining and grabby hands over Nelson’s shoulder.
Nelson handed him off to Tony without a struggle this time.Peter huffed up at him and pointedly looked back towards Murdock, now skulkingirritably in his office entrance. Defeated, but only for now.
Right.
Tony wasn’t sticking around for that battle. He thankedNelson and made a hasty retreat.
Peter wailed half of the way back to the tower. Didn’t likethe car seat. Didn’t like the car. Didn’t like Tony at the minute either.
Ah, well. T’was the toddler life, wasn’t it?
