Generally charismatic and respectable, many find it surprising that Cosette is not only a prominent student in the academy but also one of the closest friends of Victoria Shard. Aka, Pomefiore's ice queen.

Cosette's the type to not comment on her friendships with everyone, given that she actually respects her privacy. And she silently hopes that everyone else can mind their fucking business and leave her alone.

But nope. And that kind of pisses her off. It's almost a miracle that she's still able to smile so proudly in front of the people who annoy her to the core.

Cosette is what one would call "easy to talk to", especially if you're incredibly close with her. Although she isn't the best with advice, she does her best to make sure everyone in her friend group feels included and consoled. Which led to her becoming incredibly popular.

As a child, her father regularly doted on her and spoiled her rotten. It came to the point where her mother had to stop him from spending everything on Cosette. But that isn't to say she didn't spoil her daughter as well.

Because she grew up doted on and spoiled rotten to the core, Cosette is unsurprisingly… A little spoiled. But she's mostly good at covering up that side of herself.

With her ambition and cunning, it was no surprise that she managed to befriend Victoria so easily. They're both brilliant, politically involved women who know what words they need to use to get what they want.

"Adieu For Now"

It's been two weeks since I graduated from New York City's most prestigious institution, thanks to my late aunt's massive inheritance. My parents made the decision to relocate to New York City, take over my aunt's business, and leave Farmsville behind to begin a new life, you know how the story goes.

My reign as Belvoire's badass angel Queen B has come to an end. All of my friends and foes have left, probably living their best or worst lives in the real world.

Zoey began her path to become a well-known DJ with the help of her mother and mentor, a.k.a. THE LIL NOS F HIMSELF. To be honest, I'll miss the days when we spent our time together hanging out, going to wild parties, hooking up with some of Belvoire's hottest girls and guys, as well as devising a plan to stop Poppy, X, and other potential enemies from ruining my repuation, but with Zoey and my posse by my side, we were unstoppable and managed to graduate in the end.

Lexi's old job is taken by Professor Ian Kingsley. After being fired from Belvoire due to allegations of him sleeping with a certain student...me...well, it only occurred once...ok, maybe twice...but I ended things with Ian after the school board nearly discovered our illegal relationship. Dean Steinhelm offered Ian his former position back once we proved the school board 'wrong,' but he declined, stating that he wanted to start over.

I haven't pursued him like a love-sick school girl since then, and it was probably the best that we stopped. Ian told me that he still has feelings for me, but I wasn't willing to give him what he wanted. I'm not selfish to let him destroy his career over me again, besides he's not the only person I've ever slept with during my time in Belvoire. Ian and I decided to keep in touch and agreed to remain friends, and only friends. No more, no less.

Of course, I'll never forget about Poppy Min-Sinclair, the ex-bitchy ice queen/sworn enemy/rival/fling who tried to ruin my life when I first got into Belvoire. All I wanted was to experience a normal college life: go to classes, hang out with friends, join exciting parties, and obtain a degree at the end of my senior year, but that bitch gave me a hard time since I set foot in campus.

You see, Belvoire University, has a strange popularity-based caste system. Where Poppy Min-Sinclair was their Number One Queen in the student rankings. She was known for being a ruthless, manipulative, narcistic, yet witty, cunning, and ambitious leader. Not until I arrived on campus. I was the new small-town girl genius who skipped grades and came from new money, thanks to my dead rich aunt who left her massive fortune, to my parents and me. Everyone in campus was interested in knowing who I was.

Poppy didn't take that quite well, so every attempt she made to ruin my life always backfired at her. And again and again I always remind her that she messed with the wrong person. For the past two years we were always at each other's throats, competing, giving insults, and fighting for the position of Number 1 as Queen B in Belvoire, after that we always end up in bed doing hate-make outs, constant hookups, you get picture, but it was our 'normal' way of getting to know each other, believe or not behind that crazy alpha bitch attitude is a softie when it comes to animals. No one knew this side of Poppy, except for her family and me. Heck, she owns at least twelve animal shelters in New York, she even plans to make a zoo to rescue endangered animals. That's how she cares about animals.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't have feelings for that horrible skank, which I clearly did when I said I choose her, and it's always been her throughout my graduation speech. Poppy being Poppy, denied everything and spouted angry words about how she loathed me and everything, but I knew better.

I rolled my eyes, knowing all those angry comebacks and insults were nothing more than hollow words, so I did the logical thing, I kissed her in front of everyone to get her to quit talking. Everyone was shocked, including Poppy's parents. Nevertheless, everyone cheered, I heard some of the frat boys and zeta girls made a bet on my love life.

I took a step back and left her side to finish my graduation speech. After that, I led everyone to our post-graduation party, but my joy was short-lived when my parents called. Due to an emergency, they informed me that I needed to return home early. This threw me off guard. My parents have barely enough time for me since we became wealthy. I was hopeful that they'll come because their only daughter had graduated as summa cum laude, sadly they didn't appear. At least Poppy's parents cared enough to see her graduate, I envy her for that.

Back in Farmsville, I was raised and taught that family always come first. My relationship with my parents wasn't always like this, I had a wonderful and loving relationship with them, especially with my dad, but that changed when my father took over his late sister's company. He became distant, cold, and busy. To tell you the truth, I'm not sure why he called. I was surprised to say the least. This is the first time he approached me in nearly two years.

I notified my posse, which includes Zoey, Carter, Chloe, Veronica, Penelope, Thomas, Professor Roberta, and Taylor, that I need to go home immediately due to some family emergency via group chat. My entire posse agreed to assist me. Penelope and Zoey helped me in leaving the party, so I can get into my dorm room and packed all my things. Carter and Taylor then volunteered to carry my belongings and wait for my chaperone to pick me up from campus. While Chloe, Veronica, and Thomas stayed at the party to keep everyone entertained and announce my departure once I'd left.

I took one last glance at Belvoire before leaving. Here, I made both good and unpleasant memories. It shaped me into the person I am now. I turned to face my friends, especially Zoey.

"I'm going to miss you guys a lot." "Thank you so much for everything," I cried. Giving them all a big embrace.

"Me too, boo," Zoey muttered. "We'll all miss you."

"Hah! Bea, you'll always be our QB," Carter said.

Taylor dried her eyes and said, "No matter where you are, just call us whenever you need someone to talk to."

A vintage automobile honked at me. "It's time to go home, Miss Bea."

I smiled at everyone I knew as I wiped away my tears.

"Your ride is calling you." Penelope added, "We'll make sure to take care of the rest."

"Thanks guys, and it's not goodbye, more like see you later!" I salute and hug them one last time.

This day has been an emotional ride for our graduating seniors here at Belvoire University. Some cried, some don't, and some our relieved to end this crazy school year. Too bad I won't be posting anymore juicy news here on The T, cause I'm about to graduate myself. But eh, enough about me.

In any case, if you're wondering why Queen Bea disappeared from her own party. Unfortunately, our benelovent QB had to leave early, because she had an important business to attend to. Of course, she didn't forget to thank people who loved and despised her throughout her reign. Let's not blame the poor girl. Her life has been living hell since the day she came to our school. All our new QB wanted was to live her college life peacefully. But not in Belvoire. Despite coming from new- money she proved again and again that no one dares to mess with her. Afterall, she's naturally a born genius. She did skip two years in middle school, became valedictorian and all-time prom queen back in Farmsville High, dethrones Poppy as the new QB, and now graduates college as SUMMA CUM LAUDE at only nineteen. I bet Mama and Papa Hughes must be ecstatic of their daughter's achievements.

I gulped, feeling guilty for leaving her behind. I was too preoccupied with the party and then my parents suddenly called. Just when I was about to reply.

Really? I looked him with skepticism. When was the last time they surprised me with something? Right, when I found out that my late aunt had left her entire fortune to my family. At first, I was excited since my family can afford to transfer me to a prestigious university. Since, they have the money to give me anything I want. I adore my parents and am grateful for everything they've done for me, but all I want is to go back to how things were. We used to live a simple life. Farmsville was a place that I'll greatly missed. I missed living on our farm back home, caring for our animals, competing in town-events and winning them all, seeing my mom and dad's smile, and so many fond memories that I'll never forget.

Going back to the surprised. Poppy was going to wait for now. Now I know I may sound like a douche for ditching Poppy behind (You are a douche). Shut up mind! I'll get back to her after my so-called surprise with my parents, and it's not like she'll cry about it, right? She's a headstrong, yet crazy bitch who's probably in the verge of madness texting me and demanding an explanation for leaving her behind, and maybe about the stunt that I pulled earlier. Yeesh. I'm seriously dead.

You know I am asking this to a few blogs i follow now, but i would genuinely like help understanding why people connect with dark or "edgy" characters. I've realized I've misunderstood this idea of comfort characters with multiple people and i usually let the worst side of fandoms color my opinions but I dont wanna be that guy anymore. whether its characters like Sylvanas Windrunner or Dabi from My Hero Academia its clear people gain that inspiration from them. Why do you love this character?

(I started writing an answer to this and then forgot about it in the drafts. I'm really sorry but that's something I often accidentally do so welcome to my life xD)

I tend to gravitate towards the villains, that's a fact. But I don't think there's a specific reason why I do that. It's not a villain-based decision, it's character-based. Meaning I don't like them because they're dark or evil or edgy, but because of what each of them represent and what feelings they evoke in me.

Sometimes I like them because they're more interesting than the "good" characters (Voldemort) or because I think there's potentially a whole other side to them that we haven't seen and that's fun to imagine (Garrosh). Sometimes I like them because they're simply unapologetically unhinged and I fucking love to see it (Harley Quinn and Bellatrix Lestrange).

As for Sylvanas, I absolutely got emotionally attached to her from the moment I saw her. It was a mixture of seeing a lot of myself in her and seeing a version of someone I wanted to be but did not have the courage to become.

It started with "oh crap, it's a woman in a position of power! Fuck yeah I love to see that!" and then it evolved to "my real life happiness depends on the fate of this character and I can't do anything to stop it". It's absolutely an unhealthy attachment to a fictional character, I am aware of that. But I haven't found a way to detach myself emotionally yet

Over the years, I got into the habit of thinking about her in times of need. Stuff like "what would Sylvanas do" or "just push past your limits a bit longer, do it for her" became a thing and it's helped me through some dark and rough IRL times. As fucked up as this situation is, somewhere along the line I started to look up to her as a role model.

She's a strong, independent woman who carried a fuckton of trauma but managed to push forward regardless. A woman who is unapologetic about her power, who is not afraid to do what needs to be done even if her actions might be morally reprehensible by some. Someone who embodies "the means justify the ends". Sylvanas is incredibly intelligent and calculating, she's manipulative and cunning. She's resourceful, determined, ambitious. She's loyal to those she loves. Sylvanas knows who she is and other people don't get to have a say in that -- she doesn't need to rely on anyone for anything, and especially not to define herself.

Fuck if that's not the woman of my dreams.

Alice isn’t always the most creative in a traditional sense – her being a fantastic dueler and was able to navigate herself in  Slytherin house was due the fact that not only is she cunning, but is also so resourceful. She’s able to see other people’s side of things while having the ability to manipulate people’s perception of her to work in her favor. She knows how she’s seen, she uses it to her advantage, often taking mental ( and physical ) notes of the people around her.

Alice sees the world so openly and vast, she thinks, why not? Facts are only facts because they haven’t yet been proven otherwise, and Alice believes it only takes a little bit of doubt to undermine a fact – something easy to do. I bolded ‘profligacy’ because Alice has grown up never having to worry about money, and is the type to spend it on people she loves, buy them thing after thing, anything they need. Alice always has the latest record and few extra to give away to friends, she’s there to cover your bus fair or even a train ticket if needed. She comes off mothering and maternal, especially as she gets older, she wants to take care of anyone who needs to be taken care of and give back in any way she can – which is where the dominance can come in. Sometimes overbearing, when Alice believes something is best for someone, it’s hard for her to change her mind about it – this oftentimes comes off as extremely controlling even though she means well. She’s the type of person to check up on you if you even mention that you’re having a slightly off week, and ask if there’s anything she can do to make it better. This is definitely due to her generous and hospitable nature, but it is excessive and always has been – not something she would ever change as long as she lived.

The biggest trait about Alice that drives me to her is the way she deals with people, the way she knows how to read them and understand them. How she’s able to manipulate those around her, as both a negative and positive trait. Like the description says, Alice knows it’s better to be on good terms with people because it’s useful in many respects as opposed to her wanting to be on good terms because of personal feel-good reasons.

Alice craves power over situations she can control and even more so over those she can’t, it’s a weakness but it’s also a driving force that propels her to push. There’s an obsessive side to Alice’s personality that only gets more pronounced with age, though she tries to contain it, it comes out in the things she does. Whether it’s being extra thorough at work or being particularly persnickety over her own dueling technique ( or the other Order members who are learning proper dueling technique from Alice because she’ll be damned if they don’t learn some while she’s partly in charge ), Alice is always obsessing over something.

While Alice can come off as all warmth and sunshine, the part of her that is more often than not what comes out when push comes to shove is that pragmatic leader. She knows what needs to be done to keep the Order going and does it, even at the detriment of her own personal health & needs. To her own morality and ethics at times, as well. Alice is the first to suggest something that is not typically done or the proper protocol. Though, for the Greater Good, or what she believes is the Greater Good, Alice is always willing to bend the rules for.

Her need to protect The Vision™, her vision, of what the future could be for the generations after them, is steadfast. She wants so badly to make the world better than it is, to fight for the future and the generations before her, to make it a better place, that she can be one track minded and have complete tunnel vision. Alice wants the power because she believes she could wield it the right way, she’s ambitious because as much as she’s been told no, she’s been told ‘yes’ and doesn’t know when to stop.

This doesn’t negate the fact that Alice has indeed built a beautiful life for herself in the midst of a war, she’s got a husband who she loves, a career, she’s a founding member of the Order, she still has her uncle Florean and Fortescue’s. Her foundation has cracks in it, like the loss of her father, her mother being emotionally absent after the stillborn birth of her brother, but they’ve been filled with new life experiences and a lot of love all around. Alice has worked to make her life what she wants it to be and though her mind betrays her to make her feel like she needs more, to do more, to be more, she’s got plenty in her life to be proud of.

But still, it never felt like enough.

Green. Your second favorite color to dye her hair during spring. Your favorite color since you were 13 years old and decided that bubblegum pink was cute, but green was a classic. The color of your mother’s overgrowing garden that she still tends to when you go to visit her. A greenhouse, engulfed in green, though other colors illuminate the space it’s lush greenery you see. Rebirth, for every time you decide to try a new hairstyle or get a new tattoo.

Anger and Love. Anger feeds into love, love feeds into anger. Anger for when a case goes unsolved and she’s told to just drop it ( she never does ). Anger for when another person dies on Alice’s watch, another family suffers because Alice couldn’t do enough to dispell their worries. Anger is Alice throwing a hex too hard during a practice, running too much til she’s past being out of breath, dueling til the wand varnish comes off the blisters start to accumulate.

Love for the people around her. For the young Order members who have so bravely given themselves to the cause, for her husband, for her uncle and his shop, a gleaming place of sanctuary in this war. Love, imagining what the world could be without a war, Alice ready to rebuild and grow after it, if she makes it through. Love for a world ravaged by the political climate, love when you have reasons to be angry.

Some children are put in ballet, some in tap, but Alice had dueling lessons. At least, she did what she could do without a proper wand. Her father taught her good form, different dueling techniques, strategies, everything you could know about what Alice considers a sport, she learned. The history, the customs, those of other cultures, she learned. Being Dueling Club captain for her house was an honor and an accomplishment while she was in school, something Alice feels extremely proud of even to this day. Though as an Auror she never wants it to escalate to having to get into a Duel with someone she’s pursuing, it can be exhilarating dueling at that caliber.

Celeste has acrescent shaped birthmark on her hip, though that’s nothing special. She’llhave more scars along the way though, poor girl.

Morgan has a numberof scars on him, the most visible is a small nick at the right side of hischin. It drives Celeste mad.

This has to be the question I took thelongest to research for because it took me AGES to look through tv tropes dotcom for the perfect tropes and it has got to be:

Celeste – Hidden Depths (visually oriented,go by first impressions, character development in unexpected directions), Faceof Angel Mind of a Demon (assumption of being good, immoral and threateningwhen need be), Villain with Good Publicity (works within system, commands greatdeal of respect from the masses)

Morgan – The Creon (not in charge,considerable power but not at the pinnacle of the pyramid), Becoming the Mask (growsused to their mask and influence, grows attached to the people they’re supposedto take advantage of), Tranquil Fury (becomes deadly serious when thingsbecomes deadly serious, whoops ass without undue stress, eerily calm during afight)

leslie knope is a slytherin: a conspiracy

the harry potter wiki defines Slytherin traits as:

now tell me, WHICH OF THESE DOES NOT DESCRIBE LESLIE BARBRA KNOPE?????

leslie knope’s job is to be resourceful - to find quick, smart solutions to problems that pop up out of nowhere. she puts out fires all day every day and she makes thousands of scrapbooks while doing it!

now...on to cunning. leslie knope is a wonderful person, but it would be remiss to deny her blatant manipulation and straight up lies! nothing frustrates her more than the slow progress of government projects, and she is constantly trying to achieve her goals through questionable means - it’s basically what got ann and chris together originally!! 

leslie knope is ambition personified. she is so ambitious, not only for herself but for her friends and family, that she is never satisfied with what is right in front of her (which is why her reaction to ben’s proposal was such a pivotal moment, BUT I DIGRESS.) leslie has had big dreams since childhood and she discusses her desire to be the US president on the regs, and she finds ron’s lack of drive to rise through the ranks confusing, though it is believable that she does not push this because he could easily be her competition.

LESLIE IS SO DETERMINED! leslie’s cunning and ambition fused together forms her most dominant trait: determination. whatever it is she wants, she will get it, even if it makes everyone else unhappy. this is a trait that we see in leslie at her worst, but also her best as she can use it to be creative and true to herself, or to be self/just plain old destructive. not to talk too much about ben here, but he plays a role in helping leslie harness her determination into a force of good, starting with their reuniting in the smallest park: ben agrees to get back together with leslie not just because he loves her, but because she has finally agreed to see things from his point of view and stop trying to “steamroll” him into a relationship. she has to come face to face with the idea of dissatisfaction and accept the result.

leslie is generous, her gift-giving prowess can tell us that. but ultimately, leslie takes care of herself. many challenges she faces in life, love and work revolve around the mess she has made whilst trying to get exactly what she wants. for example, whilst leslie ran for city council she saved the parks budget from being cut, but what had to go was an animal shelter. in order to find money in the budget for the shelter, leslie inadvertently got ann fired. with credit to leslie, she used this mess to assert herself as a serious candidate and impressed the opposition’s campaign manager, but her reluctance to see her department defunded resulted in massive uprooting of her friends and colleagues anyway. leslie puts herself first, which is not in itself a bad thing, but she often drags those around her into the mess which they did not sign up for.

now, cleverness. whether or not you like leslie as a character, there is no denying her extreme intelligence. she was clearly a child prodigy with an excellent memory and wide vocab. she wrote a book about everything that happened in pawnee since the town founding and typed it all from memory, for god’s sake. woman is SMART.

so, despite the lady knope’s proclamation that she is a member of the house gryffindor, i would argue that she is in fact a beautiful, yellow haired slytherin.
