Of course Daisuke and Swansea have family’s but Swansea thinks poorly of his and Daisuke’s poorly of him. All people in the companies eyes that wouldn’t stir up too much trouble if they became part of the 30%.

It makes it so much sadder because that ladder they were climbing was so small and shitty. There were rungs, ranks, but even the highest was barely off the ground. Jimmy wanted to reach the top of something that was brutally cut off and knocked everyone else off just to not see it.

i have this entire fleshed out shy reader lore for i guess a hypothetical universe where shy reader dated jj and/or pope first but eventually they broke up because of the whole season one treasure plotline not even because of a lack of love but mostly just her feeling neglected and alone. right at the end of all of that is when she would meet rafe just when he’s in that season two craziness/spiral and they become so insanely codependent and just around there somewhere when the pogues hate rafe even more they find out he’s dating shy reader and it’s just a whole other layer. so basically obx writers let me into the room.

Also ngl I kinda love the concept of Debling courting Penelope and Colin getting jealous because of it, not because I ship it (he’s barely a character) or because I’m part of the crowd that wants to see Colin ~suffer (though I’m not opposed to seeing him dramatically yearn), but because the reason Penelope specifically is going after this vegan man is so fascinating to me. Like, she obviously doesn’t love him. But she will marry him to protect LW… she’ll marry him to please Portia, that’s so funny.

Girl’s so desperate to escape her awful family life while at the same time keeping her secret, but she also wants her mother’s approval. And she’s so caught up in that toxic mindset that she completely misses the guy she’s been in love with since childhood making heart eyes at her from across the ballroom.

Pen only has her parents’ terrible marriage as a frame of reference, so she probably thinks it’s a bonus if her future husband is much older than her because that could make her a young widow. He’ll leave the country for the majority of the year to fuck off to Antarctica? Oh to be left alone by your own life partner!!!

Meanwhile Portia is enthusiastically nodding behind Penelope like yes, perhaps he’ll die at sea, and neither of them think there’s anything wrong with this outlook in life.

Because while it's likely the former, knowing the Matron and Vax's devotion, but it could also be the latter because there are world changing events happening, do the rules and status quo matter anymore?

I either want Kiki to finally have a chance to move on and have proper closure OR I want Vax back with them all for good, because these middle grounds do nobody any good. Thinking the awful thought of how much worse the curse could have potentially gotten if April and Splinter had been affected somehow.....or even just. If Donnie had decided to stay at April's for a while out of the belief that maybe if he was out of the lair things would calm down. Like, would they have eventually gone looking for him because the "dying" part of the curse wasn't fulfilled yet? Would they have eventually been willing to put APRIL in harm's way because the curse made them think she was trying to protect him or something? Like the fact that this could have easily been made EVEN WORSE by just a few small things is what's gonna keep me up at night OP (pos) (Also I'm so so curious to know what the trigger to the curse starting even was, if it was a spell that was cast or something that was a small detail in the fic that nobody's picked up on yet, and if Raph Leo and Mikey even noticed anything was off or not until it was far too late. I am connecting dots that haven't even been fully connected)

dude dude dude i think about it a lot. how if donnie had stayed with april, it would have been worse (and there's a very good chance they could've lost april in the line of fire, too, if he was safe with her for a long while. the curse doesn't change their feelings on each other, it'd just have to get bad to a point where they would GENUINELY put their murderous hatred for someone above her life). how if he'd actually gotten out instead of running for his dad, it would have been worse. the curse would get worse and worse and worse until he died, and the longer it was held off, the more aggressive the treatment. the exact situation he was in saved his fucking life. raph putting his hands around his throat saved his life. that was the best possible outcome short of him being consciously aware of there BEING a curse, and he was too far gone for that to happen.

its sososososo tragic. like they're more grateful than ANYTHING with april doing what she could while they couldn't, even if she was stumbling in the dark, but that had the potential to have been dangerous and i dont even think they'll ever realize that.
