You don’t befriend Ivy. Ivy befriends you. Either you go along with it or you don’t, but she’s stubborn as a burr tangled in your tail and sometimes just as obnoxious.

Once you get used to her, she’s not bad. A little over-eager, maybe, but not bad.

Ivy has two friend groups: one that’s “strictly college friends” and one that’s “you earned my trust and I can confide in you friends”. College friends are just that–friends of hers that go to the same college. Sure, she’ll talk to them and laugh with them and share secrets. But crossing the threshold means she starts yapping about the Lackadaisy–or sorry, the friendly little space underneath the Little Daisy café.

It’s easy to become her college friend. She makes them herself, and often all you have to do is just be in the same lecture she’s in. Often she’ll start talking to her neighbours out of boredom, and if you meet her halfway then boom you’re in. Talking in low voices becomes giggling like schoolgirls, passing notes like it’s high school, making fun of the source material and eventually one of you laughing so hard the lecture gets paused and you get put on the spot.

Going beyond that takes more work, however. It’s days and weeks and months of sleepovers in her dorm room, notes passed, pre-planned nights out dancing abruptly canceled, Ivy slipping up and mentioning things she immediately verbally backspaces/gaslights you into forgetting about, Ivy deliberately failing classes you know she can excel at and at least one literal chip (read: shard of glass) in her shoulder. It’s the shard of glass that finally cements you as a closer friend.

Whatever happened to cause it, it left her rattled enough to mess up which dorm room was hers. You wake up at one in the morning to what sounds like a zombie trying to get in: groaning, mumbled swearing and thumping and banging as whoever knocks on the door tries as hard as possible not to knock too hard.

Opening the door greets you with Ivy having what looks like half her body soaked in blood still bubbling up from somewhere in her shoulder. She mumbles an apology and tries to leave before getting yanked inside and the door slammed shut as quietly as catily possible.

Thankfully, it seems the wound isn’t as bad as it outwardly looks. Dragging a bitchy Ivy’s shirt off her shows that it’s more bloody than messy.

She’s clearly exhausted from whatever the Hell she’s been doing, hardly able to finish her sentences without drifting off to sleep or yawning widely. Picking out the small bit of glass from her shoulder is no easy task when she’s fighting to sit up straight and Ivy–brave, foolish, stubborn, fiery Ivy–falls asleep on your shoulder while you’re cleaning up the fur around the area.

You might not get much sleep that night. She does, though. Sleeps remarkably well for someone who smells like gunpowder and gasoline. What the Hell has she been doing?

Exactly! Like I used to be the type of person who wouldn’t eat breakfast because I would eat late at night and be full in the morning, but I’ve been eating earlier in the evening now and waking up super early (like 5AM), so if I don’t eat breakfast, I’ll be extremely hungry and have zero energy. I’m also intentionally bulking rn for the next month.

Idk my dad’s other kids really well (we didn’t grow up together) but from what I remember, they have always been quite bigger than me in terms of weight, and that was always a point of pride for my mom when I was younger so I was really fatphobic when I was a kid but I ended up realising that some people are just big and that’s normal and it ain’t none of my business anyways and that your weight doesn’t determine your value, etc. But my mom has always been a bully. She thrives on gossiping and bringing people down. She’ll even laugh at fat people walking on the street and trying to gossip about them while we walk. She even makes fun of the drug addicts downtown, talking about how they’re failures and shit. I’ve told her many times to stop but she doesn’t listen at all. She’s talked about my weight so much once, that when I was 15 I went on a crazy diet consisting of 500 calories a day and ended up in the hospital after 6 months.

We literally had a fight about this like 2 months ago and I said to her that I think she’s one of those people who’s incapable of change and she got mad at me and said she would stop doing all of these things. And she stopped… for a week. Now she’s back to being a bully. I ain’t even surprised at this shit, I don’t even say anything to her anymore.

She’s also extremely good at gaslighting and manipulating people, and I hate to use such terms, but that’s the only way I can put it. She’ll try to gaslight you into thinking that shit never happened even though it was literally seconds ago. Gotten to the point in which I have to write down everything that she does and the time that she did it directly after it happened, because she’s so good at gaslighting people. And she speaks in a very kind manner so she tends to manipulate people a lot.

We won’t ever know exactly what happened but here’s what we do know with zero assumptions: Taylor at least emotionally cheated and dumped Joe to be with Matty. Joe is willing to go on record to say from his end it was a fully committed relationship for six and a half years (sure, he could be lying but like why lol?) Taylor previously accused him of things he didn’t do and was irrationally jealous (per her lyrics - or as I said earlier he’s the best gaslighter in the world lol). Some assumption but really minimal: something about how Joe behaves made her super insecure and act a bit psycho and yes that’s also on him.

Also humor me - why would it be better from Taylor’s end if he was also cheating? Let’s say he was and she could prove it. Why didn’t she just… leave lol. Why did she get her own side piece? I feel like that they would be more patient with a reader with eating disorder. Once Natsuo explains that its a medical condition, and not some form of rebellion against them, they'd be pretty considerate.

Depending upon the type of eating disorder, they'd see to it that you have a proper, healthy diet.

If you binge eat, then they'd try to get you to eat healthy meals, that are filling and nutritious. They might get you to become involved in different activities and you know, get your mind off things that cause you to binge eat. Dabi, especially will be more than happy to eliminate the cause of distress (like bullies and stuff).

If you're not eating enough, whatever the reason may be, then they'd also be very understanding.

If you're picky about your food, if you like certain types of textures, smells or colour, then you're lucky because Rei will be more than happy to cater to your needs. She'll hide greens in your brownies, or disguise food in ways you'd never know what you're eating. And its all delicious. Rei is always thinking about what kind of dish to make, how to alter certain aspects of it so that you'd like it.

If you're still not eating, then they'll be like those parents. You know, the ones who say "nobody's leaving this table until you finish your peas". Enji will hold you in his lap, rubbing circles in your back, talking in a hushed tone to calm you down as Rei coos and tries to make you swallow another bite. You can squirm and cry all you want, but Enji's not letting you go until you eat everything off your plate. Your big fat tears twists Enji's heart, but if he must use force to keep you healthy, then he will.

And once you're done, at least one of your siblings is always around you to make sure that you don't throw up whatever you had.

Natsuo would have a whole file of your medical records, which he regularly updates everytime he checks your weight, height, blood work etc.

Since Shotou and Enji are both heroes, I feel like they have a whole lot of protein shakes in the house. If Natsuo recommends, they'd make you drink that chocolate flavoured protein shake too (no, Enji only ordered this flavour for you because he definitely does not like chocolate). Maybe they'll even let you hit the home gym with them, but only under their strict supervision.

Everyone, including Dabi, will help you overcome your problem. They will whisper reassurances, coddle and baby you, and do everything else just to make sure you that you're a happy, healthy kid.

HOWEVER

I also think that they might use your disorder against you.

Like they'll be manipulating you, gaslighting you, telling you how you're incapable of taking care of yourself.

And since you're already in such a vulnerable state mentally, they'll take advantage of it and take the reigns over your life.

And if we're talking about unhinged Rei (Yan Rei Hurts Reader = YRHR), then that's literally your worst nightmare. Coddling and infantalization to the max but that can easily turn into a punishment if you don't comply fast enough. Yeah YRHR Rei is not a very patient person and is an active danger to you if no one's around to stop her.

Honestly, I feel like that someone with a eating disorder would be safer with: Natsuo, Enji, Hawks, Shotou, low key Miruko too because I feel like they have the most patience, especially for you.

Honestly, as much as it would hurt Rei, if you still don't eat her food, they will hire Yukhira soma to make some dishes for you. Dont worry, Rei will quickly learn all these dishes.

She would probably really enjoy sweet foods. Probably things like fruits, candies and smoothies. She’s not really one for meat but she’ll still eat it, she just doesn’t like most meats. She prefers more fruit or vegetables. She’ll eat most what you put in front of her unless she really really hates it. She doesn’t really have any reason though other than ‘this taste nice :)’

She doesn’t like spicy or bitter foods like chili, brussel sprouts or peppers.

Fate is really interested in history and different cultures! She could listen too others talk about their culture/history for hours, or talk about her own. She also became really interested in Pokemon when coming to Aevium, they kinda reminded her of the Familiars from her own home but they were also different.

Math really bores her, it mainly stress her though she was never good at it. She also finds things that require a lot of patience/stillness boring. Such as fishing, meditation, chess, etc… She just can’t handle it, it’s the under stimulation.

Positive to a fault, Fate doesn’t like to be sad or upset. She hates seeing those she cares about be upset or anything negative. She also doesn’t like to think nothing but the best is going to happen. However she doesn’t want others to worry for her or annoy others with her problems. This leads her to thinking her problems aren’t as bad as others. She’s basically gaslighting herself. She hates seeing her friends upset, she doesn’t want to put them through that. Even if it negatively affects her.

Fate’s actually from the world of my original story! She nor Calamity are not tied in anyway to said story tho aside from being from the world. I was too lazy to think of a new world lol. I don’t have a name for the specific world (I need to get on that), but I call the story Strange World (for now I want to change it but I can’t find a better name that fits rn). I don’t know exactly where they fit into the timeline but tbh it really doesn’t matter. Given it’s a chill found family story, and Fate lived in a completely different area than from the Strange World cast. Closet thing Fate shares with them is that she too got eeby deebied like the main character, Allie lmao.

I shall now stop talking about my other ocs and actually answer the questions. Fate lived out in the country in a small village / town out in the forest. It was a very magical area, where the magic could be quite unstable at times so not many people lived there. Fate- uh obviously doesn’t live there anymore. It was pretty much where she lived her entire life though and she always wanted to explore outside of her tiny town. She however didn’t expect said ‘seeing new sights’ to involve getting sent to a whole different world.

I could literally not tell you why but I’ve always thought of Fate’s voice being a weird mix between Twilight Sparkle and Pinkie Pie from MLP. Something upbeat and energetic but also soothing? She is a horrible singer though, loves singing but she is tone deaf as fuck she just s c r e a m s.

Honestly though, she would probably have an accent. However no one in Aevium can place her accent give she kinda from a whole different world. Fate literally had to research different regions and their voices to find the closest sounding one because people kept asking her. So she can have something to say it isn’t a good idea to say you’re from another world when someone asks.

Alright, so Signora and Dottore:

Extraordinarily chaotic and evil sibling dynamic

They gossip, like, A Lot, it's mainly Signora talking while Dottore fidgets and works with whatever he's working on, but he gets invested in it pretty easily

Now they also can and will rat each other out when they want, absolute snitches the both of them, they find immense joy in it, however. They also know a decent number of each other's secrets and they aren't going to tell those unless given a proper bribe (which neither have received just yet)

Signora and Dottore also both do Not like Childe

They have bonded over this

Childe is gaslight girlboss gatekept from everything when Signora and Dottore are involved

Also, Signora usually isn't phased by whatever Dottore keeps in his labs, because, yk, she might be 500+ years old, which Dottore appreciates because usually people are constantly on edge in his labs

It's a pain for him to actually keep staff (alive and employed), but having another Harbinger there (even one with a reputation like Signora's) grants the people working for him an, admittedly false, sense of security. Nothing could go bad when two Harbingers are here, right?

So Actually many many things can go wrong with these two in a room with Dottore's experiments

Like don't trust them around fire? Ever? Signora knows her way around it a little bit too well to be safe, and Dottore just likes watching how things burn under different conditions soo a recipe for Arson, that's what that is

Signora also thinks Dottore is hilarious when he's angry, and Dottore just likes being antagonistic, which leads to a whole lotta bickering. It's usually lighthearted but it can get serious and it can get serious fast

But overall Dottore just sorta sees her as an older sibling-ish person? He knows if he lets something slip she's not going to go straight to the other Harbingers to gossip. Which he likes because he can just go off and rant about how stupid something is and she'll just use it as blackmail material, which he thinks is better than like. Having everyone know how much he hates a certain piece of old machinery or something-

However, he doesn't trust her too much, because?? Who in the Harbingers actually trusts each other???

Also he and Signora have Transmasc/Transfem solidarity I will not be elaborating

Dottore and Childe on the other hand:

Pure hatred from Childe's side, he straight-up despises Dottore.

After all, this is a guy whose family is one of the most important things to him, his siblings are children, children who do not know the weight of the world just yet.

And Dottore is the guy who is... well. He's known to treat kids like nothing but a base to experiment on

Now Dottore on the other hand literally just wants to dissect Childe, he's gone absolutely crazy trying to get permission to at least run tests.

I mean, What else was he going to do when the kid Pulcinella found on the side of the road started turning into an entire 10ft abyss creature??? That's part of his whole line of work!! This is literally something he studies!!!

Needless to say, he was not allowed to study Childe's Foul Legacy in any regard and it ticked him off

So yeah, just overall they Hate each other, they argue a lot, like, if the Tsarita wasn't there at meetings they would turn into fistfights

However, they both drink whatever the Genshin equivalent of Monster is

This is not a bonding point, they fight over flavors

Sounds like a dumb thing to fight over but Dottore can't stand Childe's and Childe can't stand Dottore's

This has lead to other Harbingers swapping their flavors around because they think it's entertaining to watch them fight

It actually got to the point where the Tsaritsa herself had to order them to stop switching the flavors around because Dottore and Childe are already prepped to murder each other at any moment, they don't need to make it worse

So Dottore just reserves himself to snapping at Childe with the annoyance of someone who is being blocked from something that could very easily be a big break that's being dangled over his head

For real though, Childe has so much potential for Dottore's experiments but Dottore isn't allowed to do so much as study what effect that the transformation has on Childe afterward, and he hates it

But he can't lose his funding from the Tsaritsa so he stays quiet and angrily compiles whatever information he can

Anyway, Dottore and Scaramouche:

Overall neutral actually?

Like they don't see each other much, with Dottore usually knee and elbow deep in some messed up science stuff, and Scara's work taking him out and about a lot of the time

They bicker and stuff, but overall?? They kinda just avoid talking to each other?

Sometimes, rarely, they do get put on a mission with each other, but when they happens they usually get along pretty well!

They actually have a good time snooping around places, what with Dottore's practically uncontrollable curiosity being easily triggered if there's... oh idk, dragon bones, or old machines, or abyss-related ruins, or anything in the typical Vindagyeran Architecture Style, and Scaramouche just likes to snoop and sneak around for fun, for funsies

There's been a few times when the both of them have bonded over chaotically messing something up (didn't impact them, but sure did impact whoever was living in those houses) and laughed over it, grabbed some drinks, and just hung out

They're sorta like buddies who don't see each other much so they're overall estranged but still have a good time, yk?

Scaramouche has hung out in Dottore's labs before, doesn't particularly enjoy them, what with all the machinery and people crying and whatever, thinks it's boring, but if he has to hang out there he'll find his way to Dottore's office and read his files

This gets on Dottore's nerves, but he knows a little better than to cross the minor god that is Scaramouche

And he would very much like to study Scaramouche, considering, yk, divinity abandoned by the divine?

What an odd predicament!!

The questions Dottore could have are endless!!

But Scaramouche is away enough to be sure that Dottore's interest is solidly in other things (mainly Abyssal, and Dragons, because there's always some Fatui around the dragon skeletons (Durin and Orobashi) and I have a feeling it's Dottore's doing)

He usually is never the one to get killed at the beginning because everyone else will come for the imposters ass

- as an imposter he would either:

1. do absolutely nothing and kill no one because he would feel bad

or

2. kill someone, report it, and come clean because he can’t lie and he probably feels bad

if there are multiple imposters he would probably just sabotage and let his partner(s) do all the dirty work.

Nezuko

as a crewmate she would probably just follow tanjiro around not caring about doing her tasks or not unless she dies. if someone managed to kill tanjiro before her she would flip shit, as well as literally everyone playing-

as an imposter killing would be hella hard for her as tanjiro is following her everywhere but once she manages to get away she’s a literal god until tanjiro catches on and rats her out. she may be good but she doesnt last long as an imp 😔✋

Zenitsu

as a crewmate he would either be glued to tanjiro or too scared to be near literally anyone. He’s that one player that freaks out when someone starts following him for .5 seconds.

as a crewmate he would be set on finding the imposter(s) he gets called out a lot cuz people think he’s the imposter cuz he’s following people around all the time. Never does his tasks and throws out dumb assumptions about random people because he finds everything suspicious. the mf would probably say something like “i saw sanemi walk out of medbay, the dude vented!” right after genya said he watched him scan. he uses “sus” unironically

as an imposter he would literally sabotage everything (if he has a partner this would annoy the everliving fuck out of them) and kill anyone on sight. probably makes stupid decisions like killing/venting in front of people without meaning to and then getting hella defensive when people sus him out. he sometimes tries to shift the blame or blames them before they have a chance to speak but gets caught anyways.

as a crewmate he would just do his tasks and not give a fuck about anyone unless someone tries to blame him for something or sus him out he gets really defensive and angry, if theyre playing through a voice call you cant understand what he’s saying because he’s yelling and his mic is ass so it just sounds like bass boosted tv static.

as an imposter he’s good but the dude can’t lie for shit so as soon as someone catches him in a loop he either says nothing cuz he dunno what to say or gets mad and defensive trying to put the blame on the other dude.

as a crewmate he’s either the first one to get killed or he gets blamed for killing and voted out. Tanjiro and Nezuko are probably the only one’s who defend him.

as an imposter he either goes god mode and kills like 5 people before a body is reported or gets voted out at the beginning.

does her tasks first thing as a crewmate and often complains in frustration at whoever called a meeting/reported a body while she was in the middle of a download task. (i dont blame you shinobu that shits annoying) she also tries to find reasons to frame giyuu.

as a crewmate he would definitely be set on completely his tasks first. pretty observant and calls people out on their bs (nicely ofc). is usually the first one to check ppl do shields/trash/weapons etc. If anyone tries to blame him for something he would defend himself lookin like 😃 the whole time. if its in a voice call he’s probably one of the mfs that eats into the mic.

like his brother, this mf would get easily angry and defensive if you tried to call him suspicious or frame him when he is a crewmate. probably cant understand what he’s saying either cuz this dude is loud as hell. he yells and cusses at people who try to prove him wrong or counter argues with him. he gets voted off a lot because of how defensive he is :/ he also insults people. 😁 he finds reasons to frame giyuu with.

as an imposter he’s really good at killing and covering up his tracks but as soon as someone thinks its him he gets pissed and defensive (likely calling them a stupid dumbass or sumn), which is what usually gets hime voted off. the dude probably slams on his keyboard and cries when he’s voted off.

as a crewmate she wouldn’t care much about tasks but would still do them to pass the time. sticks with obanai, rengoku, or shinobu depending on who’s playing. always trusts and defends her friends which sometimes ends up getting her killed- also someone who would probably eat into their mic

as an imposter she would stick with obanai and team with him (lord help when theyre both imposters theres no escape) she wouldnt kill any of her friends tho so if she has a partner she’ll leave that to them but feel guilty about it.

Uzui

as a crewmate he would preferably go on his own and avoid people. is the crewmate that forgets the map and whenever someone asks where he was he can’t answer and gets voted out sometimes. and excellent lie detector, he calls people out on their bullshit. uses terms like “sus”, “noob”, “cap”/“no cap”, etc. so much to the point where its painfully cringy.

as an imposter he would be an excellent liar but if he ended up getting caught red handed he would just come clean. would kill his friends first because he thinks its funny.

Akaza

as a crewmate he would only do the easy tasks because he doesn’t have the patience to deal with download or time consuming tasks. like sanemi, this dude gets easily defensive and pissed when people try to frame him but he confronts them in a passive aggressive condescending way cuz he’s petty. sometimes frames people for fun, mainly tries to frame douma. follows rengoku around in an attempt to annoy him

as an imposter he is good but he tries to kill douma every time he’s an imposter so if douma’s dead at the beginning of the round everyone suspects him. often goes after zenitsu too, doesn’t kill the girls if they’re are any playing.

Douma

as a crewmate this mf is annoying as hell to play with. he’s the crewmate that plays devil’s advocate to confuse people for the fun of it. also tries to frame random people for drama and often gets voted out of it-

as an imposter this dude is an og- he’s good at playing innocent and will gaslight/manipulate people that try to call him out. Akaza, Shinobu, and him argue the whole meeting pretty much.

jacqueline wilson’s ‘love lessons’

It’s funny how loads of the authors who helped shaped me into the vaguely humanoid being I am today have names beginning with the letter ‘J’; Judy Blume, Jeff Kinney, John Green, J.K. Rowling (yikes, I know) … and Jacqueline Wilson.

I’ve never owned a Jacqueline Wilson book of my own; they were always borrowed from a friend, or from a friend of a friend, or from a friend of a cousin- you get the gist. Her books, for me, come with an entire aesthetic: something reminiscent of yard sales, and reading under the covers with a flashlight, and being lulled into a false sense of security by the deceptively innocent Nick Sharratt illustration on the cover until someone’s best friend gets mowed over.

So I knew what I was getting into when I picked up Love Lessons. I knew this was going to be Fucked Up; and boy, was I right.

(Here’s the part where I warn you about spoilers.)

From an abusive dad to creepy child predator teachers to slut-shaming and victim blaming, this book has it all.

The main character is Prudence ‘Prue’ King, who is homeschooled at the beginning of the book, along with her sister, Grace. Their parents remain rooted in the early twentieth century, and are very strict about- well, everything. No TV, no computers, not a single mobile phone in the house; their clothing worse than the orphans’ from Annie; and their father remains distinctly distrustful of modern institutions like the school and the hospital; and so on, and so forth.

Daddy King suffers a stroke, and has to be taken to the hospital. Meanwhile, Mrs. King (a floppy, spineless woman who lives in fear and awe of her, frankly horrid, husband) sends the girls to school, behind the then invalid Mr. King’s back. Cue Prue and Grace being the freakshows of the school, with their strange clothing and overbearing mother.

Grace manages to make friends, but Prue remains alone. The kids are dicks, the teachers are dicks… well, all of them but one. And that’s the art teacher, Mr. Raxberry (I just couldn’t get over that name; it seems like something you’d name a mythical plant from Pixie Hollow or some shit. I’m assuming it isn’t an actual name, since the spelling & grammar check on my computer doesn’t seem to recognize it), or Rax, as he’s called.

Oh, yeah; Prudence’s favorite subject in school is art, and she’s a whiz at it. This is relevant, because reasons.

And here’s where stuff gets murky. Prue develops a crush on Rax- which is perfectly normal. I’m definitely no stranger to it; I’ve had crushes on my teachers, my mum admitted she used to think one of her professors was cute. And yeah, as I grew older, I grew out of those crushes and now have a markedly more refined taste in men (unless he’s 5’ 7’’, born in ’97 and named Bang Chan, I don’t want him); and my mum married my dad, so I’m assuming she did, too. Admittedly, now that my dad teaches at a university, it’s icky to think that there might be students who have crushes on him- but I digress.

My point is, loads of us have liked our teachers. But I doubt the majority of us have acted on it.

And Prue actively showing her interest in Rax isn’t the worst part. That’s a spot reserved for Rax reciprocating her feelings.

Guess Ezra Fitz and Ms. Grundy (yes, I watched Riverdale; please don’t cancel me) have a new addition to the Creep Club.

The age of consent in the UK is 16, if I’m not mistaken. Prue is 14. She’s just barely become a teenager, and she’s being preyed upon.

Because that is what Rax is. He’s a predator; he preys upon this vulnerable girl who’s never been in a relationship before- hell, she’s never even had friends- her father’s abusive, so she obviously doesn’t have the best experience when it comes to men- she’s unpopular at school, with the students and staff alike- and he lures her in. I don’t care how bloody nice he is to Sarah, or what a good dad he is (well, he’s really not, seeing as he cheated on the mother of his children WITH A BLOODY FOURTEEN-YEAR-OLD CHILD)- the guy’s a fucking pedophile.

I was staunchly stuck at a yellow light with him; like, sure, maybe Prue thinks he’s flirting with her- maybe she’s looking at this all wrong, she doesn’t know how relationships work- see, he drew a picture of Sarah, too, in his secret notebook- Prue’s just reading into this too much- up until he says he loves her.

Dude. Humbert fucking Humbert. She’s fourteen, for Christ’s sake, and you’re married. You have two children. She’s a child. She’s probably closer to your son’s age than she is to yours.

(This is the part where I bury my head in my pillow. And scream. Extensively, and with passion.)

The book does make some genuinely good commentary on slut-shaming and victim blaming and abusive parenting. And on one hand, I can see why so many people find issue with the romanticization of the when I kissed the teacher trope- but I can defend it, too.

The book is in Prue’s perspective. She thinks she’s in love with Rax, so obviously, she’s not going to throw in some valuable moral at the end- because she’s too young and inexperienced to think otherwise. And sadly, there are loads of instances of child abuse that go unreported because the victims just don’t know better.

What I have issue with is how the school dealt with it, ultimately. Prudence, a child, has to deal with the consequences of the actions of a literal child predator. Sure, Rax ‘clears his name’ by cooking up some bullshit story about how it was only a crush and he didn’t encourage it, but you’d think other adults would know better and, oh, I dunno- dig deeper into it, instead of blaming it on a child?

“She says you told Mr. Raxberry you loved him and he held you in his arms and fondled you.”

Which Prudence denies, because, again, she doesn’t know better. She then goes on to say that they did nothing wrong. To which the adult speaking to her, in this case, the principal, Miss Wilmott, goes on to say:

“I’m not sure that’s entirely true… I feel that there are some aspects of your friendship that could be considered inappropriate.”

FYI, lady, he kissed her- multiple times (not that kissing her once makes him any more redeemable), and told her he loved her, and admitted to fantasizing about running away with her and leaving his family behind. Fun fact: do you know Prudence is underage?

You’d think that Miss Wilmott would maybe give this whole fiasco a favorable ending, but it turns out she listens to school gossip;

“I haven’t been at all happy with your attitude. You don’t seem to understand how to behave in school. I’ve heard tales of unsuitable underwear and then a silly romance with one of the boys in your class. I feel that in the space of a few short weeks you’ve made rather a bad name for yourself… I don’t know whether you intend to be deliberately insolent but you certainly come across as an unpleasantly opinionated and arrogant girl… I can’t help feeling that you’ll be much better off elsewhere. I shall try hard to engineer a suitable transfer to another school.”

And then she comes out with this gem:

“If you won’t leave, then I shall have to ensure that Mr. Raxberry finds another position.”

“No, you can’t do that! He’s a brilliant teacher.”

“You should have thought of that before you started acting in this ridiculous and precocious manner. If I were another kind of headteacher, I would have Mr. Raxberry instantly suspended. There could even be a court case. He would not only lose his job, he could find himself in very serious trouble. Did you ever stop to think about that?”

Girlboss, gaslight and gatekeep. The fucking trifecta.

Also, by ‘another kind of headteacher’, does she mean the kind of headteacher WHO DOESN’T LET CHILD PREDATORS ROAM FREELY WITHIN THEIR HALLS?

This bitch is out here blaming a child, a literal child, for the crimes of an adult man.

The only time Prue seems aware of the fact that Mr. Raxberry is actually a very shit person is her immediate thoughts that follow after she tells Miss Wilmott she’ll take the fall;

I so wanted to save darling Rax- and yet why hadn’t he wanted to save me? Had he told Miss Wilmott it was all my fault, that I’d got a ridiculous crush on him, that I’d made ludicrous advances to him? … I wanted to tell this horrible, patronizing woman how hungrily he’d kissed me, but I couldn’t do it. I loved him. I had to help him.

NO, SWEETHEART; YOU MOST DEFINITELY DO NOT.

And maybe I’m going overboard with all these excerpts, but here’s what Rax has to tell Prue, after school, following her expulsion:

“I let her think the worst of you, the best of me, just to save my skin. I said it was ridiculous talking about a love affair between us. I said you simply had a crush on me, and that I was just trying to be kind… You were brave enough to stand up to me and force me to acknowledge the truth… I love you… That’s why I had to take a risk and see you this one last time. I didn’t want you to think I didn’t care… Every night when I close my eyes, I’ll think of us together in this car and how badly I wanted to drive off with you. I’ll imagine us walking hand in hand at the water’s edge… I wish I wasn’t such a coward.”

(I burrow into the pillow further. I’m trying to suffocate myself.)

And that’s where I think Wilson went wrong. Sure, Prudence getting expelled for something that was completely out of her hands is unfair, and horrible, but it’s real. That shit can happen.

What’s bad is showing Rax in a positive light after all that. If only Wilson had written Rax to not be the Romeo he thinks he is. Make him ignore Prudence, throw her under the bus in front of her face, instead of this star-crossed lovers bullshit it’s made out to be. Show your younger audience that Rax is not a good man. I’ve got a little over two weeks left for my twentieth; I can see why this is unacceptable. But I was a little younger than Prue when I watched Pretty Little Liars, and my only gripe with Aria dating Ezra was that Noel Kahn was so much cuter.

It shows when you scroll down the Goodreads reviews; you’ve got adults giving it one or two stars, and teenagers giving it four or five, with their biggest complaints being, “but Toby was cuter!!!”

Other non-pedophilia related complaints regarding the book include: Prudence being unlikable- which I didn’t really notice, considering she reacted to some people way better than I would’ve, even at 19 (which probably says a lot more about me than it does about Prue, but oh well). Still, Prudence obviously isn’t the most prudent of people- and again, she’s fourteen. Look me in eye and tell me you weren’t an arsehole at that age (unless you’re fourteen now, in which case, I assure you that you’ll look back on yourself someday and go ‘wtf was I thinking’). Bringing up Toby’s dyslexia in an argument was low, though.

There were people who thought the Kings’ almost-Amish lifestyle was exaggerated and unrealistic, but I assure you, it may very well be real. There are 8 billion people on the world- it’s fair to assume that several of them are complete weirdos.

Grace was a sweet character, and I adored her with every fiber of my being. As were her friends Iggy and Figgy. Honestly, I would’ve loved a book about Iggy, Figgy and Piggy’s (mis)adventures too.

🚢When I think of Lau I think of the manipulative type. His goofy side can trick everyone and the s/o is no exception. His way with words is also really interesting and he can wrap the darling pretty easily around his finger. Also a stalker, but not he is stalking you, it’s Ran Mao. She watches his s/o wherever they go.

🚢Also the obsessive type, he makes sure that Ran Mao finds out every single detail about his darling and reports it to him. He’s also very touchy, it’s even worse than with Ran Mao! His hands will always be on some part of the s/o’s body.

🚢He is most of the time very calm and composed and even when he is jealous he would never show it, still having his closed eyed smile on his face. But he would somehow interrupt whatever conversation the darling had with the other person and would somehow lure the s/o away from them. If someone really tested his limits than he’ll give Ran Mao a sign to pay this person later on a small visit.

🚢As mentioned above if someone pushes their luck with him he makes sure to send Ran Mao after them. This guy has clearly some propensities for violence and if someone really angered him enough he might even order Ran Mao to bring them to him alive so he can torture them a little bit too. But most of the time he lets Ran Mao do all of the dirty work.

🚢Lau will take his time with kidnapping the darling, trying at first to win their heart with his harmless act and if he success with that he won’t kidnap them. But if they start to avoid him, have interest in someone else or might be in danger then he tells Ran Mao to get them. After that there’s no chance for them to escape him anymore. He takes them wherever he goes to and now the s/o will always sit on his lap whilst Ran Mao stands beside them. If Lau isn’t out he locks them somewhere up and makes sure that Ran Mao watches them.

🚢You will never realize his sinister feelings for you until it’s too late and no one else will expect how insane this guy can really be. He’s awfully calm with you and no matter how much you scream and yell at him, the smile will never leave his face. Not the worst one I guess, if you have a wish just tell him and he’ll ensure that your wish will be granted as fast as possible.

Ran Mao

🌺Ran Mao is the stalker and obsessive type of Yandere. This girl makes sure to watch her darling from early morning ‘til late at night. She’s obsessed with her s/o’s every habit and movement and since she watches them at all times it won’t be hard to figure very much out about them. Might even steal the one or other thing from them just to have something that reminds her of them.

🌺Also a lovestruck type. The s/o is in her eyes a true beauty and whenever they mention that they want something, even if it’s meant as a joke, Ran Mao will immediately disappear and will only come back when she has what her darling asked for. Also the clingy type, this girl will always hold onto them as if her life depends on it.

🌺Ran Mao doesn’t show much facial expressions when somehow takes her darling’s attention away from her, but believe me on the inside she’s boiling and already planning how to eliminate that obstacle.

🌺Ran Mao is ready to kill everyone who comes too close to her darling for her taste or somehow possess a threat to them or their relationship with her. She’s a trained assassin and it’s a living nightmare for those she hunts down.

🌺She would only kidnap her darling under some extreme circumstances, the most likely scenario is when she confessed to them, but they rejected her for some reasons. That’s when Ran Mao takes them with her.

🌺Even though she kills for you she isn’t a bad Yandere to have. Her clinginess is sometimes just a bit suffocating, but overall a really caring and harmless one, at least to you. I can’t say the same about the people who dares to hurt you.

Angela Blanc

👼Angela is a delusional and obsessive Yandere. In her eyes the s/o is the only pure person in London and in the whole world and that it’s her job to protect this pure soul. That makes her naturally obsessive with them, feeling the huge need to find out everything about her darling, about what exactly makes them so pure.

👼Also very manipulative with the darling, talking them into avoiding people and spending more time with her, trying to keep them away from “unclean” humans. She’ll also guilt trip them, acting like a submissive woman who just wants the best for the s/o. She is also a worshipper, the purity of her darling is everything for her.

👼Her jealousy is a bit different than from others. I think from both of her angel sides she’s more maniac about the whole purify thing what makes her more than paranoid when other people spend time with her darling, tainting them with their filthy presence. She can’t and won’t accept that!

👼As mentioned above she’s terribly paranoid with her darling and sees everyone as a threat for her s/o’s purity and makes sure to wipe every dirty human who dares to even look at the s/o out.

👼Her paranoia and desire to keep her darling clean will lead her to kidnapping her darling very soon. She just wants to keep them safe from all this awful dirty humans. Her darling will surely understand that, right?

👼She would never lay a hand on her darling because she would never hurt such a clean human. But she’s still a terrifying Yandere to have. You’ll never see a human in your life again and her speeches about how she’ll keep you safe and how she’ll purify this dirty city are in my opinion enough to give you some ugly nightmares at night. Who the hell said that having a guardian angel is a good thing?!

Pluto

🐺This guy is a demon hound and has some typical traits of his animal side in his Yandere traits. For example the possessive and clingy part. That’s not even a question, is it? This guy is incredibly territorial with his s/o and sooo clingy as well. It’s even worse than with Sebastian! This guy is literally glued to his darling’s hip.

🐺Also the lovestruck Yandere. Never in all of this posts I posted so far was the phrase being a lovesick puppy more fitting than in this. Pluto is the s/o’s obedient dog, ready to do everything they ask him to.

🐺His jealousy is terrible. His possessiveness and clingyness and the fact that he’s basically an animal makes this really bad. He doesn’t even has to see his darling with other people, as soon as he smells another person’s scent on them that isn’t his, he’s already “jealous”. When his darling is talking to other people this guy’s grip on their hip will tighten and he’ll growl dangerously at the other person. If that doesn’t work then be prepared for seeing something you wish you hadn’t.

🐺I already mentioned it above. This guy kills basically everyone that isn’t him if they don’t leave the s/o alone. As I said, if he senses another smell on you he’ll remember that smell later on to hunt that person down and rip them apart. He even kills someone when you’re with him and expects you to praise him after that! He’s confused when he smells the fear on the darling. He only protected them, didn’t he? I think from all the Black Butler characters he’s the most obvious about it since he often comes home covered in blood and with something pretty shocking in his mouth, bringing a “small gift” for his darling.

🐺His form of kidnapping is a bit different. Most of the time he’s okay with clinging onto his darling’s grip, but if Pluto senses another smell on them that isn’t his or if he thinks they are in danger he’ll transform into his demon hound form and run to a cave in the forest. He keeps you there and only lets you out after you’re covered in his scent again or until he made sure to erase whatever had endangered the s/o’s safety.

🐺He’s one of the worse ones simply because in his eyes he does nothing wrong and because he’s so horribly obvious with it all. No chance that you can escape him, he has your scent burned into his memory and if you don’t want to be chased by a demon hound who burns everything in his way down don’t even try it! This guy would find you even if you would travel to the ends of the world.

Prince Soma

🍛Oh god! This guy is together with Finny one of the most delusional ones, mixed together with the clingy and lovestruck type. The thought that you might not even see him the way he does doesn’t even cross his mind. Arguments are useless because it’ll go into his one ear and will go out the other ear. Privat space? What’s that? He doesn’t leave the s/o alone and is so weak for them. Soma spoiles his darling to the rotten.

🍛Also a worshipper. For him the s/o is his god/goddess that he has to worship. He’s also very touchstarved and wants always some kind of physical contact with the s/o.

🍛It’s almost too easy to make this guy jealous. He’s a really spoiled brat and as soon as he notices that the s/o looks at someone else he’ll throw a tantrum, yelling at the other person who took his darling’s attention away from him. Honestly, it’s so childish and embarrassing. And this happens at least five times a day!

🍛Soma doesn’t kill people. He relies more on Agni and his high position. For goddess sake he’s a prince! Most of the time Agni is enough to scare anyone away from his darling. But if he sees how someone tries to take them away from him or harms them in any way then this person will get first of all beaten up by Agni and then Soma will ruin their lifes with his power.

🍛He never sees it as kidnapping. He thinks of it more as finally being able to keep his darling safe and spoil and love them like the prince/princess they are.

🍛Would never hurt you, but his delusions are the problem here. There’s absolutely no chance that you’ll ever be able to convince him that you don’t love him, he’ll just brush it off as you wanting more attention from him which he happily gives you. Try to see it from the positive side, at least this guy will grant you whatever wish you could possibly have.

Agni

🤜Agni is in my opinion the aware type of Yandere. Even though it took a while for him to develop such strong feelings the moment he had them was the moment he knew that they weren’t normal. I can see him as the overprotective one as well. He had not the most prettiest past and that makes him naturally more protective over the s/o.

🤜Also the lovestruck one. For this guy his darling is like the sun, the moon, the stars. Prince Soma might have given him a new life, but the s/o gave him a reason, a meaning to this life.

🤜Agni feels bad for feeling this way and has already much patience, he needs it to not go crazy with Soma. So he can hold on for a good amount of time. It takes a lot to make him jealous, but I think even then he wouldn’t do anything about it. He chooses to suffer silently.

🤜As mentioned he feels bad for feeling this way and is shown as a very calm individual so he’ll try to not kill, it brings back memories of his past. But he has a breaking point and if that point is crossed it will get ugly. If his darling gets seriously hurt he’ll start seeing red.

🤜He would only kidnap you if something really bad happened for example you getting seriously hurt. That would be the breaking point for this guy. He’ll take his darling to make sure that something like this will never happen again. Agni is the type to apologize for all of this, feeling terrible for not being there to protect them and feeling bad for kidnapping them. Then why did you do it?!

🤜Overall one of the better ones. He knows that his behavior is wrong, always listens to your complaints and considering them and making sure to take care of all your needs. He’s even ready to take you out, but promise him to stay close to him!

Ash Landers

▫️Even though he and Angela are somehow the same person I decided to write a separate Hc for him since both of them are also somewhat different. But just like Angela he’s a delusional one, seeing in his darling the perfection he always wanted. Also possessive, he just found the most pure soul he has ever seen in his life, do you seriously expect him to let them go just like that?

▫️He’s the manipulative type, he already uses his manipulation on the queen to bring her to do what he wants and he’s ready to use manipulation on his darling as well to ensure that nothing can taint their clean soul. A pure worshipper, seeing the s/o as perfection itself.

▫️Similar to Angela he sees every other person as a threat that could dirty the s/o’s purity. That is his jealousy. But surprisingly I can also see him as someone who will feel sour when his darling tells him about how much they admire someone else. He wants to impress his darling and when they like someone else he’ll boil with jealousy.

▫️Just like Angela he’s ready to destroy every person who might taint your clean soul, but as mentioned above he also kills when you tell him that you like someone else, killing this person brutally because they dared to make a spot in your heart which he believes is only reserved for him. For him that’s an almost even worse crime than trying to dirty you!

▫️This one will kidnap his darling very fast because similar to Angela his desire to keep the s/o pure will get him paranoid, not that bad like Angela, but still. He’s also as mentioned the possessive type and hates when the darling is talking about someone else that isn’t him. Like this he can make sure that he’s the only one the s/o can think about.

▫️From both of the angel sides he’s the less worse one because he is a little bit less maniac about this whole purifying thing. But overall he’s still one of the worse ones from all. From both of his angel sides Ash is the one who’s more eager to fight which means he’s even more willing to kill and is more brutal than Angela. Keinz Drocell

🪆Let’s give it a try with this guy. The first thing that comes to my mind is the manipulative type. Keinz is very insidious as shown when he lured Elizabeth into coming to him. The same counts for the s/o. He’ll lure them into coming willingly to him. Also possessive, he’s a puppet and normally doesn’t have emotions so if you give someone like him someone that lets him feel something you can be sure that he’s never going to let this person go.

🪆Also the obsessive and stalker kind. Something about his darling made him feel something and he decides to watch them secretly to find out what exactly makes his insides tingle whenever he thinks of them. He becomes quickly obsessed with everything they do every little thing that might have looked normal in the eyes of others is to him a masterpiece what gives him the traits of a worshipper as well. He sees the s/o as a masterpiece, one in a kind.

🪆I like to believe that his darling managed to spark some emotions in him and that’s the bad part. If someone who doesn’t normally have emotions feels something it’s going to feel intense for them. Same goes for Keinz. He normally doesn’t have emotions, but the darling changed that. For them he has emotions and whenever he sees them talking to someone else it feels like his whole body is on fire, he’s burning with jealousy.

🪆He killed already a lot of people for his master and has no problem with killing people for the s/o as well. As mentioned above if he feels something he feels it intense and even though he doesn’t understand this feeling he has whenever someone spends time with the darling he does know that he doesn’t like that feeling and the easiest way to make sure that he doesn’t need to endure this again in the future is to get rid of the source of this feelings.

🪆This guy will kidnap the s/o after watching them for a while. By then his feelings for the darling have grown too strong for him to endure any longer and he feels the desperate need to keep them with him. He isn’t really sure why he feels this burning desire, but he knows for sure that if he doesn’t do what his brain is screaming at him to do he might just go insane. As if he isn’t already.

🪆This guy is creepy. He often just sits there and stares at you for hours straight without even blinking and it’s very eerie when he turns his head 360 degrees around and doesn’t even realize that it gives you the chills. He likes to show you his little “collection” of puppets and often brings you along when he makes them. He also likes to give you a little show with them. The song he uses to control the puppets will hunt you in your deepest dreams. The only good thing is that he doesn’t want to turn you into a puppet as well!

Charles Grey

🤺Charles strikes me as the obsessive and manipulative Yandere. It is really not easy for this guy to become interested in someone so if someone actually manages to make him a Yandere for them than you can bet that this guy will feel excited and thrilled about it. Most of the time he feels a little bit bored, but not with the s/o. He wants to satisfy his curiosity about them. He’s also very manipulative with the darling and can be very mean with his words, but if he gets them to do what he wants to then he’s fine with it.

🤺I can also imagine him as the delusional and clingy one. He thinks of himself very highly and is overall a very arrogant and self confident guy what leads me to the belief that this guy thinks that he’s the only one, the perfect one for you! No one can love, treat, care and protect you better than he can! He’s very clingy what comes from his obsessive trait. When he’s near his darling he has the best chances to observe their actions and movements, getting to know them better like this. He also enjoys being near them.

🤺This guy gets paranoid whenever he sees the s/o looking at someone else. He’s the one they should look at! He’s the one who’s perfect for them! Even though he flips out on the inside he manages to look calm on the outside. I mentioned that he can be very cruel with his words, remember? He won’t use them on his darling, but on the other person, talking down on them with an almost disgusted look on his face, making the other person feel worthless.

🤺This guy definitely enjoys fighting a lot and he’s very paranoid when it comes to his darling. Both of this isn’t a very good mix so be glad that he needs to hold himself back most of the times because he’s one of the Queen’s butlers. He only kills someone when they spend too much time with the s/o or when he knows that they like his darling or his darling likes them. Then he’ll come over for a short “play”.

🤺This guy wants to kidnap you badly, but decides to try it at first in a smarter way. Charles has to hold a reputation after all. He asks your parents for your hand in marriage and it’s nearly impossible for your parents to say no to this. I mean, he’s rich and comes from a high position so who wouldn’t agree to this?! If that doesn’t work he’ll most likely blackmail the s/o, using his power to force them into an engagement.

🤺Soo arrogant and filled with himself, it’s frustrating with him! Of course he can be a gentleman if he wants to be and of course he spoils you, but this ego of this man is too much. He always expects you to tell him how good looking, great and talented he is and you aren’t allowed to even talk in a admiring way about another person that isn’t him!

Edward Midford

🎩In the Anime I didn’t see much of him, but I’ll give it a try. I think he’s an aware Yandere, knowing that his feelings aren’t supposed to be that strong. Also the lovestruck type, even though he doesn’t want to show it openly because it’s somehow embarrassing for him. He can’t let others know how much the s/o has him wrapped around their fingers.

🎩Also the overprotective and possessive one. He’s already very overprotective and possessive over his sister, but with his s/o it’s way worse. They’re just so precious to him and he can’t bear the thought of losing them.

🎩Possessive Yanderes are bound to get jealous very fast, but he tries to hold in for as long as he can. He doesn’t want others to see how unhealthy his feelings actually are and will watch his darling’s interaction with other people whilst gritting his teeth. But when his limits are crossed he’ll grab the s/o’s hand drag them quickly somewhere else where he can spend some time alone with them.

🎩Killing is a no to him even though he sometimes desperately wants to do it. But he can’t risk to ruin his and his family’s reputation or even worse ruining his good image his darling has from him. This guy comes from a rich family with a lot of influence and he’ll use that to put a lot on pressure on people who harmed his darling or tries to take them away from him.

🎩Similar to Charles he would try to set up an engagement between his darling and him. His family would support and try to convince the darling’s parents as well, knowing how fond Edward is of you. And there’s a more than likely chance that your parents will say yes because who wouldn’t say no to such a handsome and charming man? If that doesn’t work he’ll use manipulation, bribing other people into cornering the s/o or their parents into some tricky situations and then he suddenly steps in and helps them. He doesn’t like using such dirty ways to get to the darling, but it’s all for the s/o’s sake. He only wants to ensure that he can protect them.

🎩One of the better Yanderes from this list. He respects your wishes and is such a gentleman for you. He also spoils you here and there with small gifts and shows his tender side to you and only you.

Kyouka Izumi- Assasin in the streets, babysitter in the... Genshin Impact

Kyouka is that cute, stubborn kid that overfixates on things. Atsushi is things. Look, we all know Kyo-chan is mad intelligent and talented and it shows in her game play. Right off the bat she got the sense of the gameplay of every type of character and decided what works best for her. She knows what type of team she's going for and knows how to manage her materials wisely.

When she plays alone, Kyouka works towards bettering her characters and pushing through the storyline. Her favourite way to play the game is with Atsushi, whether alone or in co-op with others. Playing with Jinko is a huge win-win situation for her - she helps him beat up whatever he needs to take down and complete puzzles, he gives her praises and gratitude. And materials, but seldom does she take them.

Her main job, though, is to protect Atsushi and his world from the otherworldly evil known as the suicidal maniac, Dazai Osamu. She's fairly successful.

Main Team: MC, Klee, Keqing, Rosaria

Sub Team: MC, Qiqi, Fischl, Hu Tao

Mains MC, both for her flexibility with elements and because she likes being the little sister to Atsushi's male MC.

Yosano Akiko- retired nurse, now a terrorist

Did you really think she'd stay a healer without having the sadistic satisfaction of hurting people in grotesque ways? Nay. She doesn't have a single healer on team. She either has a teammate who's a healer like Haruno, or she wastes abundance of food until she can teleport to a statue of the seven.

Her game play is on crack, basically. She has several energy spurs, sometimes several times a day, where she rages through the game, before losing interest and going shopping. It's very possible with her that days can pass before she feels like playing again. Then she binges the game for hours and repeat.

When i say she acts like on crack i mean it. She has rage in her veins instead of blood. She tanks her characters and goes out looking for fights with worst possible opponents. Hell, she'll under equip her party just to see how many mofos can she take down in weak state. Spoilers, a fair few. She does die quite a bit, and is almost always out of food, but she's just as stubborn as she's crazy. Those two thing correlate probably. Which is why she made Azdaha her bitch. Her party consists either of strong, hot milfs women like herself, or twinks. You won't see someone like Childe disrespecting her vibe.

Main Team: Beido, Venti, Hu Tao, Rozaria

Sub Team: Lisa, Yanfei, Ningguang, Xingqiu

Beido and Lisa main. Bad bitches only.

Naomi Tanizaki- the fangirl player

She basically collects the cutest characters possible.. That's how she chooses her characters, based on cuteness. She went for the hot ones first to pull her brother but she got jealous and changed her tactic. You know she's spending her money on character skins and certain banners. She's insanely lucky tho?? She got Qiqi on the standard banner as her first 5*, pulled Klee on her banner in little over four 10 pulles and got Diona eventually anyway. Baraba and Xiangling were free and she mained Xiangling untill Klee rolled in. She spent some money on Venti and was already in pity when Ganyu came around. She's fully ready to whale for Kokomi though.

Now i know i said she's incredibly lucky, right? Yeahh that luck has to turn against something to keep the balance and well... she's still crying over Chongyun.

She usually co-ops with her brother, it's a daily ritual. Loves co oping with everyone though, mostly Haruno, Atsushi and Kyouka. She made online friends as well. Actually, there is one person she co ops with almost as much as she does with her brother. IchiGawa is her Genshin bestie and they talk about their crushes and infatuations besides the game itself. Her friend is the only secret she keeps from her brother.

Main Team: Klee, Diona, Venti, Barbara

Sub Team: Razor, Xiangling, Xingqiu, Qiqi

A Klee main.

Haruno Kirako- the healer

Literal angel. You need her, i need her, ADA needs her, the president needs her, just... yes. Her whole team consists of support- healers and crowd control characters. She was a f2p at first, but realised she earns her own money and can spend it however she wishes and she chose the monthly cards.

She's a necessity, point blank. She can get intimidated by new foe at first, but when backed up by her friends, she becomes determined and flexible. Pays good attention to her teammates, most importantly, their health bars, and acts accordingly.

The only reason most of them made it as far as they have, being as reckless as they are.

Main Team: Albedo, Barbara, Jean, Venti

Sub Team: Qiqi, Noel, Jean, Xinyan

Mains Albedo and Barbara

Fan fact: She's very fascinated infatuated with Albedo!! He's even her home screen and has posters and key chain of him.

Gin Akutagawa- that cottagecore assassin

You may be wondering what that could even mean. Let me tell you, she brought Animal Crossing to Genshin Impact. Sure she takes care of her characters and they're pretty powerful, but she kicks ass in real life as well. The game is her little getaway, especially since Serenity pot has been introduced. She's been making away her home for her and her brother characters. You can see her chop wood, collect materials, taking pictures with her friends and her brother, sometimes of pretty scenery and cute moments. A very wholesome player.

She's the type to help her friends explore their world and help them find oculi, open chests, shrines, collect flowers, mine... She's very patient, but if she sees her co-op teammates struggle with something, she'll jump in to help do it herself untill told to back off. In which case she will listen and silently give her support, usually with the cheering stickers in the chat.

She's f2p! Sure, she could get the monthly card at least, as Ryunosuke told her, but she really wants to enjoy the game on her own terms and have what she does through her own effort and hard work. It just feels satisfying to her and more personal.

Main Team: Jean, Ayaka, Diluc, Barbara

Sub Team: Doesn't have one! She just changes characters if certain elements are needed.

Jean main!! She admirers the relationship her and Barbara have. While she's the younger of the two, she's taken the mantle of the older sibling, in a way, and is looking after her reckless as heck brother and cares for him like Jean does for Barbara. Jean is also a wonderful person in her eyes and Gin harbours great respect for the blonde.

Higuchi Ichiyo- IchiGawa 🤡

I love Higuchi so much, but my girl is a mess and a half. Help her, please. No, really, she needs help. She's been over compensating for not being dramatic and eye catching in the battlefield, and has now found a new way to prove herself to her Akutagawa-san. Problem is, as soon as she sees a potentially powerful character, she has to get them and boost them to the havens... yeahh, good thing you can't do loans in the game, otherwise she'd have sharks on her ass for having a bill as dramatic and eye catching as Tsunade's from Naruto. Our girl out there turning heads for wrong reasons. She's definitely spent her pay checks on the game "oh no no, i just buy the monthly subscription, ehe" ehe my ass, you bankrupt bitch. Baal is coming and she's looking to sell a kidney. No, it's not her own and no, it doesn't have anything to do with the game. It's a mission, for God's sake.

But hey, the game is a good investment for her! She even made a friend, one that totally understands her how she feels!! They're very alike as well, ready to do anything for the person they love. The two talk about love a lot and have bonded over it. Higuchi is actually a jealous and a protective type of person, so she hides her friend from Gin and Tachihara like snake hides it's legs. If only they knew 🤡. But it's better this way as they both have a certain sense of normalcy and familiarity they were missing in their daily lives. (Higuchi and Naomi meeting scenario when?)

Sub Team: Baal (soon?), Venti, Ganyu, Zhongli

She mains Xiao because he reminds her of Akutagawa-san and yes, she uses characters from her sub team when playing with others.

Fan Fact: when she was asked why her username is IchiGawa, she said she's like a river 🤡 No, it does absolutely not stand for Ichiyo Akutagawa.

Ozaki Kouyo- the husbando and loli collector

Don't get the wrong idea when i said loli collector. She just needs to adopt them and look after them. She also enjoys watching her precious babies kick ass like her Kyouka. But that's a two way sword, because she gets angry when they die. Savage.

And yeahh, the real reason she's playing the game... Mr Zhongli. She switches often between eng and jpn audios because she can't decide which sounds sexier. Also, Mr Diluc? Yes, she would like to be served one sex on the beach please and thank you! Ah, Mr Kaeya, a perfect window of opportunity, yes.

She has a huge spot for the teenager group as well. Razor, Bennett, Fishl, Xiangling, Xingqiu and Chongyun are also her kids. She just finds them very precious (don't we all?).

Elise- the evil lackadaisical player

Mori found out about the game from Higuchi and Tachihara and introduced it to Elise, telling her she should make a team of sweet little girls like herself and have fun going on adventures around Teyvat. In response, Elise made a team that, not only does it not have a single child in it, but is using it to gaslight and bully Rintarou.

"Why aren't you smart and inventive like Albedo?"

"Why aren't you as passionate and persistent as Sucrose?"

"Look how capable, loved and admired Ningguang is. You could never."

"I wish i had someone as strong, caring, handsome and rich like Childe looking after me. He would treat me like a real princess. "

Mori has been crying rivers ever since.

Thing is, Elise isn't even that interest in the story. Actually, she couldn't care less. Some characters are interesting to her and she likes the graphics, but other than that, she's mostly playing the game to torture the greasy doctor (as she should).

Rogue's relationships with the rest of the mercs

Scout:

Almost like a brother-sister relationship. They're always goofing off together, joking around, getting on Spy's nerves. Just being the chaotic force of the team. Scout constantly convinces Rogue to play baseball with him, especially after seeing that they both use bats as a weapon (albeit Rogue's has nails driven through it).

Scout: "Aw man, sick bat! Say, you ever actually played baseball? If not I could teach ya. Though, you should probably use a different bat. I'll let ya borrow one of mine!"

Soldier:

He's definitely sort of a weird uncle figure to her. She's always giggling at his ridiculous antics, and he's surprisingly protective of her. Although at the same time he's always impressed by her ability to fend for herself, and fight off men larger than her despite her size.

Soldier: "Hell yeah, look at her go! Kicking ass just like a true American! She makes me proud!"

Pyro:

Oh my goodness. These two. Rogue almost always puts on a tough attitude, especially around the other guys. But around Pyro? They're probably the only person Rogue will be a softie towards. They're constantly seen platonically hugging and cuddling, and Pyro loves when Rogue covers their mask in stickers. They always return the favor by covering her face. Once they come off she treasures them. The others will always comment on how adorable the two are, usually followed by Rogue telling them to fuck off.

Rogue: "If anything were to ever happen to Pyro, I would kill everyone in this room and then myself."

Pyro: (灬º‿º灬)

Demoman:

Their relationship is quite explosive, to say the least. When Demo isn't trying to get Rogue to try some of his alcohol (which always results in Rogue gagging and choking from the bitterness) they're always assisting each other on the battlefield. Mostly in the form of Rogue catapultng Demo's bombs at enemies with her slingshot. They always share a laugh when a BLU team member is blown to bits.

Demoman: "Boom, right in the head! Look at all that blood! Yer aim is getting better and better, lassie!"

Heavy:

Just looking at these two stand next to each other is almost laughable. With Heavy being incredibly larger than everyone and Rogue being incredibly smaller, he practically dwarfs her. He's extremely gentle with her though, and takes care of her in sort of a protective big brother kind of way. Whenever the team is lounging around, she's often either cuddled into him or resting her legs in his lap. He doesn't mind it. He's also let her beat him in arm wrestling numerous times. She knows he lets her win, but she still take the opportunity to boast to the other mercs about it.

Heavy: "Little girl is so strong. You've beaten me again."

Rogue: 😏😏😏

Engineer:

He's also like an uncle figure to her. But unlike Soldier, he's more of the chill laid-back uncle that she can go to for advice. And she often does. Sometimes when she's bored she'll go into his workshop and talk with him as he plays his guitar or she helps out with whatever he's working on. Even if that help is something as simple as just handing him tools, he appreciates it. He appreciates the company too.

Engie: "Alright darlin', can you hand me the screwdriver?"

Rogue: "Uh... which one?"

Engie: "The Phillips."

Rogue: "Uh..."

Engie: "The pointy one."

Rogue: "Oh! Yeah sure I knew that."

Medic:

Like with Engie, Rogue will often go into the infirmary to talk with Medic as he works (she also makes sure he takes a break once in a while and doesn't overwork himself). He also does what he can to help with her depression once that's out in the open, prescribing her any antidepressants he can get his hands on. Though when she first joined the team and he gave her her first annual exam, he was astounded by how many fractures and injuries he'd found that were just left to sloppily heal on their own. The sadistic doctor was actually kind of worried for her, though honestly impressed by her high pain tolerance.

Medic: "Goodness fräulein, this is the fifth fracture I've found! How are you even walking?"

Rogue: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sniper:

Despite having quite good aim from using a slingshot for years, Rogue was quite inexperienced with guns (not including when she killed her old caretaker at the end of her fighting days). So naturally, Sniper took it upon himself to teach her. He educates her on different types of guns in order to find what works best for her, and the two partake in target practice together. Of course, the two end up bonding during the lessons. She tells him all about her life in the ring, and he tells her about what life was like back in Australia. One thing that Rogue wasn't anticipating, however, was how strong the recoil of a gun can be. She was so unprepared she was thrown right onto her ass in shock.

Sniper: "Crikey! You alright there, mate?"

Rogue: "Yeah I'm fine... fuck, what was that?!"

Sniper: "Recoil, love. Did you not know guns did that?"

Rogue: "...no..."

Spy:

Although she and Spy certainly took the longest to warm up to each other, the two are as close as can be now. Once they finally accepted each other, Spy took her under his wing as his apprentice. He helps her perfect her thieving skills and educates her on how to take tough situations in stride. She really looks up to him, and they almost have a father-daughter relationship. And of course, when her depression comes to light, he's her biggest means of support. He's always available when she needs him and he does whatever he can for her.

Spy: "You make me so proud, mon cheri. You've captured the intel once again, our training has really paid off. Great job."

Rogue: "Thanks dad."

Spy: "Excuse me, what was that?"

Rogue: "....nothing."

Bonus!

Miss Pauling:

Miss Pauling is literally the first woman Rogue has ever been close to in her life. Throughout her entire childhood she's been surrounded by creepy older men, and even though things are different now with the mercs... they're still men. There are just some things Rogue isn't quite comfortable talking to them about. But with Miss Pauling, going to her for help with things like clothes shopping and feminine problems almost feels natural. Hell, there were so many things Rogue didn't even know about periods until Miss Pauling explained them to her. And of course Miss Pauling takes the time out of her busy work day as often as she can to make sure Rogue is stocked up on sanitary items, and whatever else she needs. Rogue is always extremely greatful for it. And while part of her sees Miss Pauling as sort of a mother figure...another part sort of has a crush on her. Yeah, Miss Pauling was pretty much Rogue's bisexual awakening. But she hasn't said anything about it, one because it would just be awkward and two because she knows Scout also likes her, and she doesn't wanna stand in his way (but little does either of them know, Miss Pauling is a lesbian 👀)

Miss Pauling: "Rogue, honey, you don't even know what a pad is? Or a tampon??? What- what do you do when you get your period?"

Rogue: "What, you mean that weird time of the month that I start bleeding? I just... live with it I guess? Maybe put toilet paper in my panties if it gets too messy-"

Miss Pauling: "Rogue. Come with me, I'll get you stocked up on the things you need. And we'll get you some new panties too."

Rogue: "But don't you have things to do?"

Miss Pauling: "This is more important. You shouldn't have to suffer every month just because no one ever properly taught you about periods. I'll help you out."

Saxton Hale:

Rogue thought he was obnoxious upon first meeting him. Called him a "corporate clown" to the other mercs. But, she had to  earn his approval in order to join the team, so Miss Pauling insisted that she be on her best behavior around him. But, even when on her best behavior her spunkiness still shined through, and Saxton noticed it real quick. However, that spunkiness only raised his interest. He commented on how he, "Hadn't met such a scrappy sheila in a long time." Truth be told, she reminded him a lot of Maggie, but he wasn't about to mention it. During their one on one meeting, he demanded that she punch him in the face to test her strength. After a short hesitation, she did so. Saxton was impressed that she actually hit him hard enough to dislocate his jaw and bust his lip, and gave her the job on the spot with the promise that she keep up that energy (and learn to use some weapons, of course). Miss Pauling and the mercs were shocked to see the two of them come back with Saxton's arm slung around Rogue's shoulders and his face dripping with blood, and the two of them laughing with each other. She took back what she said about him being a corporate clown. Although, the only thing she still doesn't like about him is how he treats Miss Pauling, considering how close she is with her. She has a mind to call him out on it, but Miss Pauling begs her not to.

Saxton: "Let's see just how strong a little gal like you can really be. Go on, hit me RIGHT here! Hard as ya can!"

Rogue: "Uh...Mr. Hale, I really don't-"

Saxton: "Oh don't wuss out on me girly, you want this job or not?!"

Crack.

Rogue: "Oh my god- Mr. Hale! I am so-"

Saxton: "Now that's what I'm talking about! You pack a hard punch for such a cute little thing!"

Rogue: "You're bleeding..."

Saxton: "Consider yourself hired!"

Administrator:

Doesn't trust her. Not one bit. She only respects her because she has to, and even then her "respect" is so shallow that anyone could see right through it. She hates the way she berates, overworks, and oftentimes gaslights Miss Pauling, and the fact that even all the other mercs seem to be intimidated by her concerns her greatly. She knows something's going on with her behind the scenes, and she's determined to figure out what. In the few times she actually saw her in person, Rogue definitely smarted off to her more than once, despite Miss Pauling practically begging her to watch it. The Administrator, however, almost finds it adorable. Almost. She kind of views Rogue as a bratty child. A bratty child with skill and talent that is essential for her team. And for that, she lets the sassiness slide...for now. Luckily these two don't butt heads often though, considering the Administrator is rarely seen.

Administrator, over the loud loudspeaker: "Well done, let's see some more."

Rogue, mumbling: "Bite me..."

The Flayn thing gets even worse when you realise that Solon used Flayns blood to cause the Remire incident. Remire, which is in the EMPIRE. Edelgard literally directly contributes to an entire village in HER territory being completely wiped out by a hate plauge because she lent TWSITD the Death Knight, soldiers, and intevenes and rekidnaps Flayn you run out of turns and then has the nerve to say "I would have stopped this if I had known about it" like she had nothing to do with it like bish wha

It’s just like... Imma use this ask as a catalyst to what I’m about to say cuz it’s actually something that’s been on my mind for a bit: looking into how the lords’ talk about themselves vs. their actual actions in the story.

With Dimitri and Claude, there are a lot of moments where they describe themselves in a very negative light, Dimitri as a inhuman monster and Claude as a callous schemer, but we see from their numerous actions that neither of those thing are really true. 

Even when Dimitri was at his worst during the first five chapters of AM, him constantly dehumanizing the enemy, outwardly and vocally, all the time? He wouldn’t do that if he didn’t still care for people; if he didn’t it wouldn’t matter whether or not the people he killed were monsters or not. 

In CF and AM we see Claude put himself in front of Derdriu’s citizens to protect them from an oncoming attack from the Empire and he never retreats, even when his life is in danger. Even in CF you have to spare him because he won’t leave. Sure he asks you to but he could just... you know... bounce on his own lol

These are just one example for these two but there a plenty others that show that their descriptions for themselves simply do not hold up when examined closely. Compare that to Edelgard, whose most self-deprecating thing she says about herself, personally, as a person, is that she may too be detached from others. Which... is true. Every attempt she makes to try and connect with someone her own ego gets in the way and the other person kinda just has to deal with it (her Bernadetta supports are a good example, where Bernie’s shocked reaction to Edelgard being afraid of the ocean is met with annoyance and slight scorn). She keeps saying that she is doing everything she does for the people of Fodlan but her actions bring nothing but continued strife throughout the entire continent.

Like, let’s look at Remire like you did; she says that if she’d have known TWS would have done this she would have stopped them, but like... why would she? Genuinely asking. She admits herself that she wouldn’t be above letting her people die to further her cause, so what does it matter how they die? Especially when, practically, this is a good thing since it furthers the research for Demonic Beasts, creatures she willingly uses to help her. And she swears she’d had stopped it... but she still uses what came of it (improved Demonic Beasts). She still works with the people who did - she in fact orders them to create a pseudo relic for her to make up for the fact that neither of her Crests give her access to one and it’s built to her specifications, meaning she has at least a decent amount of sway with TWS. In all the other routes she gives the order to set her people on fire in Gronder. She chooses not to evacuate Enbarr when Claude’s army advances (specifying Claude cuz not sure if this happens in AM). She conscripts her civilians into the war, stripping them of their choice. She says she’s for meritocracy but steals credit for work she didn’t do. She tells Rhea she’ll let her surrender but moments before she tells Byleth that Rhea must be killed. She claims she allowed Garreg Mach a two week time period to evacuate its residents when she attacks but we know for a fact those two weeks were her gathering her forces. She says she wants to reveal the truth but hides the truth about the Tragedy from Dimitri and Dedue, who kidnapped Flayn from Seteth, who killed Jeralt from Byleth, who bombs Arianrhod from her army along with all the other things TWS do

With Edelgard what we hear her say about herself and what she does are completely different, like Dimitri and Claude, but unlike those two she’s far worse than how she describes herself. She’s hypocritical, a flat out liar, she genuinely gaslights constantly, she’s uncaring for her people’s safety, and that is shown time and time and time again. With Dimitri and Claude, we see that while they have moments where their initial self-descriptions are somewhat accurate (Dimitri willing to torture Randolph, Claude with Jeralt’s diary and using Cyril as a scapegoat) their overall actions portray a far better light on them. With Edelgard it’s the exact opposite

Almost like that’s intentional! Almost like the good people in the story are better than they initially appear as the grow in their stories while the bad ones are the opposite! Almost like... damn near basic storytelling! Who woulda thought.

Word of Honor, Episode 30. STILL A LOT. This one got long.

(Spoilers. Scroll away and come back later, if you need to.)

Yeah, so, A-Xiang and I are crying again. At least they’re good, cathartic tears, this time? Poor Cao Weining – he continues trying to make sense of all this (It’s all a misunderstanding, right? My good friend Wen Kexing was framed, right? He can’t possibly be the terrifying master of the Ghost Valley, and you can’t possibly be his henchwoman, right?), but nothing he knew is true anymore. Nothing except his faith in A-Xiang. I know you’re good, he tells her. I won’t fail you. And they do make this explicit here, with him saying, “I made a promise I will never fail you in my life, not even once.” I’m flailing on the couch, at this point. Come here, my little cinnamon roll, and let me squeeze the stuffing out of you. And oh. Oh. It just hit me that a girl who was raised by the Department of the Unfaithful (as well as WKX) has found a man who will vow this to her and mean it. Also, I don’t know if this is the closest we’re going to get to this theme made explicit with Zhou Zishu and Wen Kexing, but Cao Weining and Gu Xiang continue to act as proxy here for the m/m couple that has to be more circumspect. (Also, I would compare the way this promise, spoken out loud, bookends this ep – Cao Weining’s heart once again offered here, at the beginning, and the undertones of betrayal in Xie Wang’s words to Zhao Jing at the end, but we’ll get to Xie’er in a bit.)

Digging into our continuing parallels, I said a bit back - Ep 26? sometime before Wen Kexing’s identity had the ultimate reveal in the confrontation with Ye Baiyi, at least - that Zhou Zishu was beyond “you don’t fail me and I won’t fail you” into “even if you do fail me, I won’t fail you.” That’s where Cao Weining is now, knowing (finally) what A-Xiang’s been hiding from him, as ZZS knew about the Ghost Valley even before it was actually spoken out loud. Even if A-Xiang is there to infiltrate his sect, even if she’s helped cause all this death, Cao Weining will follow her into death and reincarnate with her to stay with her and protect her forever. (Ugh. My heart. Cao-dage, how are you like this?) Last ep, watching WKX’s frantic efforts to save Han Ying, I think there was some callback to the Four Sages of Anji, but I also pointed to what I saw as a callback to the paired conversations in Eps 22/23, when Cao Weining tells A-Xiang to be more careful because he knows she’ll feel bad if she kills an innocent accidentally, and ZZS tells WKX he’s trying to protect him from more sins on his hands. This ep, there’s a literal flashback to that Cao Weining/Gu Xiang conversation in Ep 22. I also want to go back to the interminable infodump in the Longyuan Cabinet cave in Eps 19/20, where - similar to Cao Weining finally learning and accepting who A-Xiang is in this ep - Zhou Zishu has finally put together all (well, most) of the pieces, and he makes it clear that he knows (at least part of) who WKX is by calling him “Zhen Yan” to his face. The color palettes for the two couples match in these scenes – slightly more saturated and intense for the older couple, but lavender for WKX and A-Xiang, blue for ZSS and Cao Weining; we also have an enthusiastic hug that’s met by a hesitant response. Although roles are reversed in the hug – A-Xiang hugging Cao Weining, ZZS hugging WKX - the way they shot Cao Weining’s response in this ep, hesitant hands finally going around A-Xiang’s back, is almost exactly the same framing and movements as WKX’s response to ZZS’s hug in Ep 20 (7:37 in Ep 20, 9:00 in Ep 30). I’m just sayin’.

Also, I might or might not have rewound three times to watch Cao Weining wipe the tears off A-Xiang’s face and her responding radiant smile. You can’t prove anything.

The other big parallel I see in this ep is a return to the ZZS/Prince Jin and Xie Wang/Zhao Jing relationships. Everyone is telling their creepy gaslighting mentor/parent figures to fuck off in this episode, apparently. (We even (kind of) get to see WKX do this, seeing the scene of him in the aftermath of killing the past master of Ghost Valley in flashback as A-Xiang tells her tale to Cao Weining). I have to think it’s not just coincidence that the ZZS/Prince Jin and Xie’er/Awful Yifu confrontations play out in the same ep. Not to mention the fact that both happen in the middle of a big fk’n mess, lit. and fig., that ZZS and Xie’er have made of not just their physical surroundings, but their Awful Prince’s/Yifu’s plans.

So, first off, we cut to Bad-Touch Prince Jin. I knew it, you creepster (and ZZS knew it too!). And yet, I still cannot believe you. You kidnap him, try to kill everyone in Four Seasons Manor for the second time around, burn his house, plan to get him drunk and take advantage of him, lit. and fig., and now you’re fondling his sword? Eurgh. There’s definitely an air of “bathe him, dress him, and bring him to my chambers” with ZZS at the beginning of this scene, even if we’re actually in the throne room and not any bedchamber (not that I don’t also enjoy the leather bracers-updo-evil collar look on ZZS, so I’ll give Prince Jin points for good taste, at least). Prince Jin pulls out the poor yifu prince card, because it’s lonely being in charge, you know. And now, we’re back to how could you leave me. Aaaaand then, he blows off Han Ying (Han Ying!), the last sort-of vestige of ZZS’s Four Seasons shidi, and oh, boy. You done fk’ed up now.

So, I love how clearly done with all this ZZS is, from the first minute we see him this ep. I keep hearing this role was a departure from Zhang Zhehan’s norm, and while I plan to check out some of his earlier work, I’m honestly glad I got to see him first in this. I hope it opens up some more doors for him. I keep being struck at various moments by his physicality as Zhou Zishu, which has a weight behind it that just … ah. I keep failing to put it into words, but it gives a substance to the character that makes ZZS feel real, and it’s not particularly in his big action fighting scenes that it keeps hitting me, like you might expect when it’s something about the way he moves and carries himself. I started turning this over in my head last week, when I talked about how I felt that shout at WKX in the wake of the fight with Ye Baiyi in Ep 27, moreso than any of the other various shouty characters we’ve met in the show, even when their yelling is louder and more sustained. There was something visceral about ZZH’s performance in that moment. It reminded me of an earlier scene when Wen Kexing’s been drunk under the table by Ye Baiyi but insists that he’s fine, just fine, and Zhou Zishu, who’s trying to make him go to bed, makes a feint at him and then hits him on the shoulder. (Hold on … I just went and found it, it’s at 37:19 in Ep 17.) Not just the hit, but particularly the feint preceding it struck me the same way Ep 27’s shout did. It’s something that maybe comes through strongest when ZZH is doing leashed anger, where the character’s raw emotion is simultaneously supposed to be controlled but leaking through – that contrast seems to showcase what I’m talking about. Or maybe not just anger, but any really strong emotion, because I got it in this ep, among other places, from the little lip tremble as ZZS drinks some of the wine before he pours one out for his dead homies, as well as from the way he works his jaw to get himself back under control after bringing up all his dead shidi. Also the tiny lip quirk and deliberate breathing while Prince Jin disparages Han Ying. (Not the snarl when he’s faced off with Prince Jin holding his sword blade right before the cheesy cut to close-up split-screen, though. That one didn’t hit right, unfortunately.) ANYWAY, this whole throne room scene with Prince Jin is basically porn for me, with ZZS simmering the entire time until he finally breaks and everything explodes. God, the only thing it’s missing is actual tears.

Cut from the scene of ZZS literally striking back at Prince Jin to what’s going to be – at least it looks like – Xie Wang’s breaking point. Xie’er and his henchwomen seem genuinely surprised that Awful Yifu is the one who shows up as reinforcement for the Gentle Wind Sword Sect, and I’m still trying to untangle all the various strings of this web. I don’t know if I’ve missed some things, or not put something together properly – I feel like Cao Weining, all “Slow down, I can’t keep up!” Anyway, we get a very public repudiation of Xie’er by his Awful Yifu, which is interesting because nobody is supposed to know they’re connected in the first place, right? Yet, clearly Mo Huaiyang does, and no one in his sect – all of them standing around in the subsequent cave scene - seem to react with any kind of shock to the info that Zhao Jing is Xie’er’s yifu. Aren’t we supposed to be hiding this from everyone? So that not only the jianghu but Prince Jin doesn’t know it (yet)? Anyway, as well as getting slapped, Xie’er gets a couple of places with good little maniacal laughs in. Given the apparent surprise at Awful Yifu’s appearance, I’m assuming this was something Xie Wang really didn’t expect, and this public repudiation is the breaking point? Or that Awful Yifu hid this alliance from him? Not that this attack on the Gentle Wind Sword Sect was part of a deliberate long-game to fuck over his Awful Yifu by fucking up this alliance? Anyway, Xie’er has learned his lesson about his Awful Yifu – or at least he says he has - so maybe there will be some deliberate fuckery of Awful Yifu going forward from here? Have you learned your lesson, little gambler? Finally?

I do have to warn you, Xie Wang: Do not touch A-Xiang. This is a hard limit. You will be dead to me.

Scattered other things:

Duan Pengju, omg, this asshole. I love how he just gets dismissed from the throne room like a lackey once he’s delivered the guy Prince Jin actually wants. I love how ZZS says, out loud, with everyone in the throne room to hear it, why would I leave this loser in charge of anyone I cared about? I looooove how utterly dismissive of him ZZS is even as ZZS is literally being tortured by him. ZZS’s mockery and whole air of how he’s just ever so bored with all this torture is delightful. However, I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU’RE ENDING THE EPISODE THERE, SHOW. I’m going to have to wait until at least Thursday to find out what happens??? (This is d/t work schedule, which is 12-hour shifts on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, leaving no time to watch as the next eps upload, if I want to sleep).

I don’t know if this is deliberate, but when we cut to sleeping Wen Kexing near the beginning of the ep … we’ve just seen him in his very red robes as Ghost Valley master in A-Xiang’s flashbacks, and I notice that what he’s wearing now – it’s not the pinkie pink of the robe he wore to match the winter plum blossom forest, but it’s not blood red, either. It’s muted, something in-between, kind of salmon colored.

Bwahaha, dying at our two little foodies in the cave being the first ones to say “Hey, somebody’s cooking something!” Also, A-Xiang, my clever girl. You know to avoid letting Xie Wang or Zhao Jing (or Liu Qianqiao?) see you. What are you putting together in your head and coming up with about this tangled web of alliances? Also, I see you call Cao-dage over to your hiding spot. Are the two of you still there to hear the conversation between Zhao Jing and Mo Huaiyang, and how Mo Huaiyang and Zhao Jing are working together with the Scorpions and the Ghost Valley?

Last but not least, no intention to leave Jin Palace alive, ZZS? I seem to recall you telling your boyfriend, the terrifying master of the Ghost Valley, that there would be time for him to rescue you once he woke up from his nap. Is it possible you were lying so he wouldn’t feel bad? Mn. Possible. But I also remember the way you yelled at WKX over his plan to get himself killed and leave you alone, and I remember the fact that you won’t fail him, and I have to wonder if your plan really was to die, or if you’re bluffing when you say that to Prince Jin.

House of Anubis characters playing Among Us

I know the Among Us fad is over, but I was thinking about this today, so I figured I’d speculate what I think all the HOA characters would do if they all played Among Us, both as crewmates and the imposter

Nina - She is somehow always finding bodies. She's that person who finds and reports them every time so it makes people sus. However, she is terrible at lying, which saves her on this part. This game stresses her out sometimes; every time someone dies she feels guilty that she hasn't found the imposter yet. She wants to help people, meaning sometimes her tasks fall by the wayside. She will also drop everything to go and fix the sabotages immediately, meaning it's often easy for the imposter to trap her and murder her. As the imposter, she's fond of the self-report, mainly because she overthinks it and thinks this is the best strategy to cover up. However this is where the whole "terrible at lying" thing backfires on her, because she will self-report and then can't lie her way out of it.

KT - Everyone always thinks she's the imposter, and she doesn't help herself out because she's horrible at defending herself. And no one believes her when she says she's caught somebody in the act. However, when she IS the imposter, she doesn't last very long because she's terrible at lying and coming up with an alibi for herself.

Mick - He's the first one dead every time. Very slow at tasks. Card swipe is his enemy. And when he's the imposter, he's always caught within the first murder or two. He's not very good at this game.

Eddie - Never does one single fucking task. He's out here to be a hero and run around and catch the imposter, but he constantly forgets that doing the tasks is important to winning. The tasks are also his downfall as an imposter. He has a pretty good time at the murdering part, but he is very reckless about it, and he doesn't know the name of any of the tasks so when someone questions him he gets caught in his lies when he makes up fake tasks.

Willow - Everyone TRIES to kill her because she always leaves herself incredibly vulnerable, but she somehow narrowly avoids death every time. When the imposter is coming for her, she always turns the other way, or someone else enters the room at the very last second. However, she trusts people and believes the best in them, which sometimes ends in her unwittingly vouching for the imposter. She is an absolutely terrible imposter herself, though. She almost never murders people, and when she does, she almost immediately admits guilt and apologizes.

Fabian - This man loves his TASKS. He sees his list of tasks and he is determined to do them no matter what. The sabotages stress him out, but he's able to handle it well. Gets mad at the people who don't do their tasks (*cough cough* Eddie *cough cough*) because if you guys just did your tasks we wouldn't even NEED to argue about who's the imposter, we would just win. Being so focused on the tasks does sometimes get him murdered, though. He's also surprisingly good at being the imposter, mainly because he knows the tasks and map inside out and he's able to come up with convincing lies about where he was and what he was doing. No one ever suspects him, either.

Alfie - King of "wrong place wrong time." Very often he finds a body and then someone walks up on him standing over it. Sometimes he can talk his way out of it, and sometimes he can't. He's also deathly terrified of being murdered; oftentimes he runs away when another person comes near him. Additionally, when he's the imposter, he's less interested in murdering and sabotaging and MUCH more interested in the vents. He LOVES the vents, it makes him feel like a ninja or a spy. Spends the entire time in the vents. Most of the time when he gets caught it's not due to a murder, it's because someone saw him venting.

Mara - She is DETERMINED to catch the imposter. She is the Queen of the cameras, and she spends most of her time parked in front of the cameras scanning every single feed, looking for any sign of the imposter. Don't get me wrong, she does her tasks, too, but she's committed to catching the killer first and foremost. She tries to put herself in charge of every meeting and direct the trial. If she sees you in the act, you better pray for your soul; no one escapes the cold wrath of Judge Mara. She's also going to get real mad at the rest of the crew if they don't agree with her and don't vote her way. As the imposter, however, everything is personal. If you've wronged her, whether in the game or in the real world, she is coming after you. She'll try to do it strategically, but she is going down her list in order of how much she hates you at the current moment. No convenient kills; she'll go out of her way to get her vengeance. She doesn't even care if she gets caught as long as her personal justice is delivered.

Patricia - Little strategy, just rage. If she sees someone near a body or thinks they're the imposter, she is going to throw out STRONG accusations and yell at them until they admit they're the murderer, even if she's wrong and they're innocent. She's also very liberal with her use of the emergency meeting button, she loves that button. She will hit that button on the smallest whim just so she can yell at her suspect. All the others run from her if they see her approaching because they're afraid she's gonna report them with absolutely no evidence. As the imposter, she loves to commit murder and she loves to do all the sabotage. Is there any sort of strategy or thought process involved? No, but it works anyway. She wins every time she's imposter because Eddie is a fucking simp so she exploits him and he believes every word she says and vouches for her in the meetings, leading to the downfall of the crewmates and her imposter victory every time.

Joy - She is very quiet and calculated when playing this game. Very seldom does she actually talk during meetings, which often makes the others suspicious of her. If she's got a hunch, she will abandon all tasks and spend the entire round quietly following that specific person around. And if she figures out who it is, she's not necessarily going to say anything or reveal to the other crewmates what she knows; she wants to see how it plays out. She also never reports a single body. However, acting sus all the time does help her when she's an imposter, because no one ever knows when it's actually her. Very strategic and calculated as the imposter. Doesn't go too fast, picks her kills smartly. Very sneaky. Her imposter rounds are long ones. When asked to defend herself, she's very good at gaslighting and subtly shifting suspicion elsewhere.

Amber - Shockingly good at this game. She's quite observant and somehow seems to always know where everyone was and what they were doing. She also has a knack for zeroing in on the correct imposter. Sometimes she does this knowingly, and sometimes she reveals it when she's reporting her observations. As the imposter she plays dumb, which works for her most of the time.

Jerome - This is his favorite game in the entire world, he's very good at this game. When he's a crewmate, he doesn't actually care if they win; he's there to cause as much chaos as humanly possible. Whether he's a crewmate or imposter, he lies about literally everything. He makes up stories and tosses around accusations, and he's very convincing, making the others fight amongst themselves. Does he ever do tasks? No one knows. You can't trust him one bit in this game. As the imposter, he sabotages everything all the time, he locks so many doors, and he strategically murders people. As a master manipulator and strategist, his tactics are different every time. He's in his element.
