Why do you think gwyn would be added as a love interest for azriel if they don’t end up as endgame? Why complicate the love triangle between elain/lucien/azriel?
Hello my lovely anon!
It can sometimes be hard to tell where the anonymous asks in my inbox are coming from. It is never my intention to argue or try to convince any other ships why they are wrong. I tag my work very carefully, ask my beloved rebloggers to do the same, and just want to stay in a cozy bubble. I think all ships are allowed, and the time I spend here breaking down the text and providing analysis is only for fun and comfort. I don't ever want or wish for my posts to end up in the wrong tags. Now that I've gotten that disclaimer out of the way, this is an ask where I can't *totally* tell what perspective it is coming from, but I am assuming it is being asked in good faith and I will answer how I typically do.
Point blank, I do not believe G/wyn was introduced as a love interest. Only Elain was.
I don't really know that I have anything else to add to that conversation, because people either think it was romantic or it wasn't. But I will say that I assume we can all agree on all sides that the bonus chapter is what led to the fervor of the G/wynriel ship as G/wyn quite literally replacing Elain as the romantic interest and not just a fun, enjoyable ship for those who don't jive with Elriel and want to carve out a space for themselves in the fandom. And as someone who has read all of SJM's bonus chapters and not just this one, I'm going to provide side by side comparisons using *only* bonus chapters that I can almost guarantee many people have not read- since most people don't read the bonus chapters. I still get comments on old tiktoks every day asking what the Azriel bonus chapter is and where to find it. And not once have I ever been asked about the myriad of other BC's out there.
Crescent City Spoilers ahead:
House of Sky and Breath has three bonus chapters. There is one in particular that is almost a carbon copy of G/wyn and Azriel's portion in his POV bonus, and it is the Tharion POV chapter with Hypaxia:
^^Both men head to a place where they assumed they would be alone, minds heavy and restless and needing to work off some tension before they could sleep- only to find their space already occupied.
^^They both flounder a bit with social niceties, awkwardness, being polite, the other person clearly wanting to be alone, and yet wind up falling into a conversation anyway.
^^ Both pairs experience surprise at being asked questions no one has ever asked them before. They also reveal information about themselves- and notably- both bonus chapters reveal heavy backstory or indications about unique or hidden powers.
^^ Both men experience some sort of lingering sensation that they could have sworn was happening after saying goodnight.
And last but not least:
Both Tharion and Azriel end on a particularly strong emotional note. Tharion is passing notes through Fitz back and forth with Hypaxia. He notes how he has never had such an instant, honest, and deep connection. He won't let anyone interfere with her birthright, and if she was in danger, he would risk everything he had to protect Hypaxia.
Azriel is secretly regifting a necklace to Gwyn, and feels truly happy at the thought that it might make her happy. He likes and respects her and is glad to think of being able to make her smile. (I of course think there is a reason for this, which I've broken down here but I also don't think it's necessary to minimize their friendship for this post.)
If you look at these two bonus chapters side by side, they are literally a copy and paste. Two people needing to be alone and winding up together, talking about things they have never talked about anyone with, and both men really powerfully feeling the strength and depth of a connection. And if you read Tharion's chapter in full, there are actually way more details of him talking about how beautiful and gorgeous she is, and how he has to stop himself from going down that road. But did this set up Hypaxia and Tharion as romantic love interests?
Nope. Hypaxia is queer as queer can be. Kitty only on her menu. But they develop a very genuine and close friendship. Because the thing is, SJM writes an incredible amount of deep and meaningful friendships between men and women. And they are always a blend of emotion, intimacy, a bit fun and flirty, full of banter, and true trust and connection. So as far as BC's, Azriel and G/wyn and Tharion and Hypaxia are the only comparable ones in her catalogue. And they are pretty damn comparable. It's also important to note that the Tharion and Hypaxia bonus chapter was included in the book where she is very much revealed as 100% queer and not even a little bi, so it's not like SJM was trying to create a red herring or a conversation. That's just how she writes her hetero platonic friendships. Take it up with her, man.
Meanwhile, the things that make it clear that a romantic interest is being introduced occurs in the Elain portion, and can be directly compared to the Nessian bonus chapter. Both men being willing to beg on their knees for a taste. Both men absolutely losing their minds over Elain and Nesta's scents. Both men knowing it was wrong, it was stupid, but being unable to stop themselves anyway. Both men having issues of what their family would think if they found out introduced (only Rhys DID find out and laid down that forbidden romance hard.)
Here's the thing- many people read Elain and Azriel as romantic for over four books and there were people out there like, nah, I don't see it, they are more like brother and sister. And then the bonus chapter confirmed, no, actually, they are wildly down bad and desperate for each other. Wanting to taste and touch and kiss each other- romantic interest confirmation. Fun and banter-y conversation occurring because two people needed to be alone but actually wound up in the same vicinity as someone else and had a deep conversation and talked about things they've never spoken about with anyone before-Platonic friendship. You can disagree. But it doesn't change the fact that right now, a group of fans are interpreting G/wyn and Azriel's interactions as romantic, and preferring it to Elain and Azriel's confirmed romantic interactions.
Sarah did not add G/wyn as a love interest and complicate things. The fandom did. Until Azriel is not sleeping, not thinking clearly, down bad desperate to get on his knees for G/wyn- and until G/wyn leans into his touch and says yes, they are actually currently friends. Could that change in the future? Totally. But Sarah literally has not written it yet.
I don't mind that the G/wyn ship exists. I love her. I have real life G/wynriel friends who are not online like we are. They are good people with good hearts who have different taste in Azriel's potential romance than me. They don't ride at dawn for Elain like I do, nor are they violently misogynistic against her or being toxic and hateful towards other women online. They just liked G/wyn's story and want more of her. That's okay. But it is important to pay attention to what has actually been written vs. what is being assumed by a group of people that openly dislike the only female character remaining with a confirmed book and who has been confirmed as a love interest.
Read Sarah's other bonus chapters! They are fun. Azriel's isn't the only one that has ever existed, but it seems like that sometimes (and I'll admit, it's amazing and I love it so fair). And nothing happened in the bonus chapter that is going to change the course or foreshadow to anything new. Not everyone has access to them, and bonus chapters do not create new plot. They are just an incentive to make money and secure pre-orders.
I think that's everything! You guys are awesome for reading these insanely long posts and vibing with me here. ily.

The Rare Bookseller Part 42: Fitz's Cold Comfort
Prev > Masterlist > Next
June 1905
tw: captivity, mind control, aftermath of burns and mouth whump
When Fitz opened his eyes again, he was somewhere else entirely, being laid out onto an upholstered couch. His mind was swimming, still drowning in sleep. He was in a bedroom, a particularly large and ornate one. His childhood home? How was he back there? He couldn't be -- not when he'd been out for so many years --
No, he realized just as he started to panic, this was a different nightmare entirely. He was still in the auction house, still with the vampires. Through his lidded eyes he saw Mr. Alexander setting him down, and behind him, Miss Lily being comforted by a long-haired woman in a simple pinafore and apron.
"Mr. Lex, sir, what happened?" she asked.
"Our sire punished her -- forced her to cut out her tongue again."
Again?
"Please attend to your madam, Nellie. Take her into the bathroom and help her wash off the blood and calm down. She'll need to feed from you in order to begin healing the wound."
"Of course, sir, of course. Thank you for helping my madam, sir."
Fitz blinked, and Mr. Alexander was looming over him, making him involuntarily flinch. "It's okay, Fitz. I'm going to wash your wound with cool water. Please hold still."
He willed himself to stay still as Mr. Alexander brought a washcloth to the burns on his chest. The cooling sensation of the water felt heavenly, and he couldn't help but sink into it.
"There's an awful bruise on your face, too. Did he hit you?"
"Mm," said Fitz. For denying that I wanted you to buy me, he didn't add.
"Did he hurt you anywhere else?"
"No, just the slap and the burns and the general air of threat and torment, sir."
"...I'm sorry," he said softly. "I need to go fetch some bandages and lotion. I won't be long. Why don't you rest, go back to sleep?" Before Fitz could respond either way, Alexander began to sing his lullaby once more, and Fitz couldn't help his eyes growing dull and heavy after only a few bars, couldn't fight the pull of enchanted slumber. He didn't want to go back to sleep, but he couldn't help but just rest his eyes for --
"Fitz. I'm back. Can I help you sit up?"
He opened his eyes, confused. He had only just blinked. Hadn't he?
"Here, let me help take the dress off, and then I can give you some lotion for the burn. I brought some pajama pants you can wear."
"Alright, sir," said Fitz, despising how useless and helpless he felt, how he was too tired for wit. How much he was at the mercy of this vampire's kindness. The memory of the Maestro effortlessly toying with his body as though he were a doll haunted him, and while Alexander's power was far more pleasant, he still couldn't help feeling trapped.
He wanted to believe that Mr. Alexander was better, that he'd escaped or at least postponed the worst of it, but how could he know for sure? How could he possibly begin to trust a vampire? And even if he could trust Mr. Alexander, there was the Maestro's challenge, his promise of inevitable tragedy.
There was a truly awful noise coming from the bathroom, something between a retch and a howl, and Mr. Alexander stopped unlacing Fitz's corset for a moment. "Lily's having a rough time, to say the least. I know it sounds terrible, but she will heal in a few days at most," he said, resuming. "Vampires can heal from almost any wound, given an adequate supply of blood. One important reason why we keep thralls, not as if I expect you to sympathize."
His new purpose, to feed a vampire. Even after all that had happened, Miss Lily's spell of submission still had a grip on him, made him long to be close to Mr. Alexander. "I understand, sir. Perhaps I wish I didn't, but I do."
"Here, sit down, this will help with the discomfort," said Mr. Alexander, as he gently pushed Fitz back down onto the couch. He had a little metal kit with a red cross painted on it, and he pulled out some pink cream and began applying it to the branded spot on Fitz's chest. It was soothing, and Fitz found he could breathe easier, sinking into the couch cushions.
"I'm going to have to stay here at the auction house for the next few days to help with Lily's work, while she regains her voice. While I was downstairs, I arranged for a room for us to stay in. We'll go home after that," said Mr. Alexander.
Home. His new owner's home, of course.
"Lily is my little sister in spirit, you see, and I can't just abandon her. Not after what happened," he continued. "I hope you don't mind."
Fitz started intently at where Mr. Alexander was taping a bandage to his wound. "Does it actually matter if I mind, sir?"
Mr. Alexander's hands dropped. He cleared his throat. "It does," he said. "And I certainly don't expect you to trust or forgive me after that, but... I am sorry. It was either follow his order or leave you with him, and what he does to his thralls..."
"And you're different, sir?"
"I like to think so, yes," said Alexander. "I won't harm you. I'll treat you well. I'll give you everything that you desire, that's within my power to grant. You have my word."
Fitz wanted to believe that. He wanted to believe that so badly. That's what made it a dangerous thing to believe. Hell, he'd seen this very con game before: one confidence artist as the tough guy threatening the mark, while another takes the role of a helpful good Samaritan, to ingratiate themselves more easily to the mark. How did Fitz know this wasn't all planned?
"You have every incentive to treat me however you please, sir," said Fitz. "Didn't your sire say that if you didn't train me to his standards, you'd be punished as well?"
"I don't care." There was a sudden flame in Mr. Alexander's eyes, a fierceness that hadn't been there a second ago. "He is not taking you, Fitz. Not ever. You're mine."
"Sir...?" Fitz couldn't help but be taken off guard by this sudden show of protectiveness and possessiveness in one.
"I haven't truly desired anything in decades," said Mr. Alexander with frightening intensity. "He may have delivered you back to me in order to control me, but all he's done is provided the incentive for me to finally break free of him, no matter what it takes."
Just as back in the showroom, Fitz could feel those eyes tunneling into him, could feel the weight and presence of the vampire's need. He could feel Mr. Alexander's hunger, his dark desire, and it took the last vestiges of his willpower to keep holding onto his mind.
It should be terrifying. They'd only just met earlier that evening, and Mr. Alexander owned him. With his vampiric and mesmeric powers, he could do anything he liked to Fitz.
And yet.
No one had ever felt so passionate about Fitz, not really. He'd flirted and manipulated his way into many a heart and many a bed, but no one had truly seen him as more than an idle diversion. He'd never had someone to care at all.
He wanted it, despite himself.
But everything Mr. Alexander was saying was exactly as the Maestro had predicted it. Mr. Alexander wanting to possess him, Mr. Alexander thinking they could both be saved.
Fitz swallowed his thought. He didn't want Mr. Alexander to know that and give him incentive to treat Fitz poorly, or discourage his plot to kill his sire.
A lot could happen in one year.
The moment between them was broken by Miss Lily slamming open the door to the bathroom. Compared to her perfect poise during the auction, and even how put-together she had been when meeting her sire in the parlor, she looked as though a horse had trampled her. Her hair was falling around her face in tangles, her makeup was half-washed off and smeared, and her dress was skewed.
"You look terrible. How are you feeling?" asked Mr. Alexander.
Her glare said it all.
"Sorry, I mean -- it's understandable that you look terrible after all of that -- you understand what I was saying -- perhaps I should shut my mouth," said Mr. Alexander, clearing his throat.
Miss Lily sighed and gestured towards Fitz.
"I fetched a first aid kit and patched him up. He should be fine," said Mr. Alexander before Fitz could report on his own condition. "I talked to Colette downstairs. She's going to let me fill in for you while you're... indisposed. Fitz and I will be staying in the room three doors to the left from here."
Miss Lily looked so tired as she nodded. As she crossed the room, she pat Mr. Alexander on the shoulder in a gesture that seemed to convey gratitude, then absentmindedly pat Fitz on the head before sitting on the bed. She gestured towards the bathroom, and Nellie emerged, walking briskly to sit next to her vampire owner. Fitz could feel the pull of Miss Lily's aura as she tucked back Nellie's hair, brushing her neck, before giving Mr. Alexander a pointed look.
"Oh, yes, we should retire to our own quarters so you can feed in private. Besides, Fitz needs rest after all of that."
By this time, Mr. Alexander's spell had worn off enough that his anxiety had returned. "I don't know how you expect me to rest after all of that, sir."
"I was going to put you to sleep again," said Mr. Alexander as if that was the most normal thing in the world.
Fitz looked from him to where Miss Lily was waiting impatiently for them to leave. Nellie was looking at her rapturously, tilting her head to expose her neck, waiting for the feeding. A vampire's servant, just as he was, now.
Is that how he would look? Adoring, staring into Mr. Alexander's eyes, with no thought in the world but to give his blood to a vampire.
"Let's go and give them some privacy," said Mr. Alexander, sweeping Fitz up into his arms.
"I could walk --" he protested.
"There's no need."
And Fitz really did have no choice but to let Mr. Alexander carry him out of the room, down the hallway to an equally ornate room. No choice but to allow him to tuck him in bed or sing him back to sleep.
Or perhaps he did have a choice, and he was simply too exhausted to make it.

sunny's favorite asukiess creations
hearth (18,589 words)
Because how do you describe a dream once you wake up, when it’s fleeting and slipping through the cracks in your mind like it’s a sieve? You can barely wrap your lips around the concepts and words before you realize it has slipped through like water, and what lay in your hands is just a pang in your chest? When every moment away from it clouds your mind just a little more, until the memories are threadbare? or: Adrien understands what it means to have a home.
Back when I first met Autumn I was on a reading spree and I saved this fic for last and it just completely stunned me. I remember whipping out a textbox page to annotate for my comment, and that's what kicked off insanely long commenter™ Sunny. No matter what Autumn says! This! Is! My! Favorite! Autumn! Fic! At least until I see the secret one she won't let me see... but no, it will always be special to me.
the secrets we keep (14,661 words)
In the wake of a summer that Adrien never wanted to end, all that he wishes to push away comes back to haunt him when the school years starts again: self-doubt from identities that feel no more real than anything else; ghosts of parents who still talk to him; and most all, a fear that the people he loves will leave him in time, too. however, maybe the person who can relate most to him is the one he's never far from.
The best memories of reading this fic as Autumn wrote it and chatting about it and being teased with every Félix mention and being in love with her mind forever and always... if you've ever liked an asukiess meta post or idea post you'll love this. Combination of all of those beautiful things.

Aw, cute Karlach moment! We met an old friend of hers running a shop near Sorcerous Sundries!
"Karlach Cliffgate?! That can't possibly be you, can it?!"
"Fytz! If you aren't a sight for sore eyes!"
"Where the hells have you been, girl? Last I heard you'd run off to Neverwinter, and that was, what, ten years ago?"
"Neverwinter? Who told you that?"
"Gortash. Said you didn't even give notice."
"Hah. That prick. But never mind that. Look at you! The years have been good to you."
"I won't lie, they have!"
Let them catch up uninterrupted.
(A/N: The upshot here makes Hector look super ominous but he's SO happy to hear Karlach so excited and to meet someone from the happy part of her past. So he's definitely just grinning away while this whole conversation is happening.)
"Well go on, girl! Tell me everything!"
"First thing's first - you saw the news, didn't you? About 'Archduke' Gortash? I think you were the only thing that kept him a little honest. After you left, things got dark, fast. I got out while my soul was still intact. Started working for an arms merchant - still in the trade, as you can see. Met my fella Gregor that way. We've been together eight years now. And Karlach-- we've a little one on the way."
"Fytz! That's incredible! Congratulations! Mum life, huh? You're going to be *incredible*."
(A/N: There's no way this isn't causing a pang for both her and Hector; the idea of domestic bliss like this just isn't in the cards for them at all, and seeing it in others has to sting. But Karlach is far too good for this world and doesn't show a bit of it. She's just thrilled for how well Fitz is doing. And Hector... well, Hector is used to keeping his feelings close to his chest.
This is a really, really sweet little moment though, just in general. Their life is so fraught with conflict and terrible people doing terrible things that it is really lovely for them to get this reminder that life is still going on, and that good and kind people still exist in the world.)
"Gods, I hope so. Even after all these years, it seemed to happen so fast. But now that you're back in town, you must come to ours -- all of you. We'll have a good supper, catch up. You can meet Gregor, and the little one in a few months."
She gives a sly, teasing little grin at this point. "Are the two of you together?"
"Uh huh. Isn't he handsome?"
Hector got the cutest little shy grin on his face at this and auuuuugh I love them so much.
"Absolutely. You're well-suited - I can tell just by looking at you. Pleasure to meet you, by the way."
"I can't tell you how good it is to see you, Fytz. I'd love to come have dinner with you and Gregor. We're in the city on some urgent business, but can I come find you when it's all settled?"
"I'd love that! Meanwhile, if you're still in the business of intimidation, you should take a look at my stock."

Broken heart/Broken mind
Chapter nine
(Human AU)
Sophie and Keefe met in the children's hospital when they were little. Because of how long they were confined to the four walls of the hospital, they became very close during their stay.
As the years pass, they wind up being in the same classroom together due to their physical conditions. This makes their bond deepen.
But are they able to handle when life gets tough, throwing problems and complications their way?
Fifth grade:
Sophie walked onto the playground halfway through recess.
When she walked up to her friends, Biana ran over and jumped on Dex's back, "Where were you yesterday?"
Dex buckled under her weight. His knees wobbled. "For the last time, Biana, quit jumping on me!"
She got off, "You're no fun."
Sophie laughed. "I was at the neurologist. Had to do some brain scans and get my medicine adjusted." She turned to Keefe, "Did you not tell them?"
Keefe furrowed his brows. "I thought I did."
"Well, apparently not," Tam said.
Keefe rolled his eyes. "Oh, wow, sorry that not all of us can be as perfect as you."
Tam narrowed his eyes.
So why weren't you out here earlier?" Linh asked.
Sophie was in the middle of climbing the rock wall as she answered, "Had to make up my work. I'm all caught up now, though."
"Well, good!" Biana exclaimed. "Now we can play. I vote for tag, and Dex is it!"
She nearly shoved him when she tagged him. She raced off to the other side of the playground. Sophie and the rest of her friends scattered.
Dex stood there like a wide-eyed deer. "No fair, I wasn't ready!" he shouted. He raced off to go tag one of his friends.
When they were done, they sat sweaty under the awning. Sophie wiped the sweat. From her face. Keefe was leaned against the brick wall, still attempting to catch his breath. Biana took her hair out of the pony tail and shook her head to let it free.
"You guys excited for middle school next year?" Tam said.
"Yes!" Dex exclaimed. "They have a robotics club. I'm so excited to be able to sign up. What about you guys. Wanna do any clubs or sports?"
"I'll probably do the animal shelter volunteering," Linh said.
"That sounds fun," Biana told her. "I want to try and do tennis."
"I can completely see you doing that!" She turned to Tam. "What do you wanna do?"
He shrugged. "I'm not sure. I don't know if I want to join anything. If I do, probably cooking."
They all turned to Sophie and Keefe. Dex said, "What about you two?"
"I kind of want to try to give swimming a shot," Sophie said. "I asked my doctor yesterday if I could, and he said I should as long as my medicine works. I'll just have to be careful. But I'm good at telling when one's about to happen, so it should be fine." She asked Keefe, "Are you going to try to do anything?"
"Umm... I haven't really thought about it." He ran a hand through his hair. "I'd like do to sports, but I'm not able."
Sophie eyed him. "Since when? You're just not allowed to do contact sports. There's still plenty you can do."
"Yeah," Biana agreed. "There's basketball, tennis, baseball, soccer. Although I wouldn't do soccer if I were you," she advised. "Fitz did it this year. He's gotten trampled. Five times. Although he is enjoying baseball right now."
"Actually," Keefe pondered, "Baseball doesn't sound half bad."
"See," Sophie said. "You can do that!"
Linh gasped. "You guys will be in our classes next year, won't you?"
Sophie's face lit up. "You're right!"
Keefe smirked, "You guys are going to regret that excitement. Sophie's not going to be the only one I can prank anymore."
"Thank God," she muttered under her breath.
"Oh, don't worry, sweet little Sophie Foster," he rested his chin on her shoulder. His grin was wicked. "I still have PLENTY saved up for you."
Tam snorted. "I feel bad for you, Sophie."
"Me too," she grumbled. "Me too, Tam."
The whistle was blown to head inside. Sophie and Keefe said goodbye to their friends and went their separate ways. Sophie waited as Keefe gulped down half an ocean from the water fountain, and rushed to catch up with their classmates inside the classroom.

Your little hand's wrapped around my finger And it's so quiet in the world tonight Your little eyelids flutter 'cause you're dreamin' So I tuck you in, turn on your favorite night light To you, everything's funny You got nothing to regret I'd give all I have honey If you could stay like that
Oh, darlin', don't you ever grow up Don't you ever grow up Just stay this little Oh, darlin', don't you ever grow up Don't you ever grow up It could stay this simple I won't let nobody hurt you Won't let no one break your heart And no one will desert you Just try to never grow up Never grow up
You're in the car on the way to the movies And you're mortified your mom's droppin' you off At fourteen, there's just so much you can't do And you can't wait to move out someday and call your own shots But don't make her drop you off around the block Remember that she's gettin' older too And don't lose the way that you dance Around in your PJs getting ready for school
Oh, darlin', don't you ever grow up Don't you ever grow up Just stay this little Oh, darlin', don't you ever grow up Don't you ever grow up It could stay this simple And no one's ever burned you Nothing's ever left you scarred And even though you want to Just try to never grow up
Take pictures in your mind of your childhood room Memorize what it sounded like when your dad gets home Remember the footsteps, remember the words said And all your little brother's favorite songs I just realized everything I have is someday gonna be gone
So here I am in my new apartment In a big city, they just dropped me off It's so much colder than I thought it would be So I tuck myself in and turn my nightlight on
Wish I'd never grown up I wish I'd never grown up
Oh, I don't wanna grow up Wish I'd never grown up Could still be little Oh, I don't wanna grow up Wish I'd never grown up It could still be simple Oh, darlin', don't you ever grow up Don't you ever grow up Just stay this little Oh, darlin', don't you ever grow up Don't you ever grow up It could stay this simple I won't let nobody hurt you Won't let no one break your heart And even though you want to Please try to never grow up Oh, oh Don't you ever grow up Oh (never grow up) Just never grow up

"How could we not come up, son? You phoned and told us that Evie had abandoned the lot of you. Your mother had the train schedule in her hand before I had even hung up." Eugene grasped his son by the shoulders and hugged him close. "Let's go up. Your mother will want proper introductions to her newest grandbabies. I can't imagine it. Two sets of twins for our first grandchildren and all boys!"
Eugene was correct. Goldie was upstairs tending to the boys. Everett was not very sure about his grandmother but she knew just what to do about his gassiness and that helped him settle right in to her arms. Frank was the happiest thing; always smiling, but he sneezed a lot and he had a good appetite.
While Goldie fawned over her new cherubs, Eugene and Gordon went to the kitchen to get a bite to eat. "What's your plan, son? How can we help? Are you sure you won't move back with us?" Eugene's rapid fire questions did not surprise Gordon. His father may be up there in years, but his mind was as sharp as it ever was.
"Obviously, I'm going to keep the nanny on. I may need to start drawing on my trust on a regular basis, but I don't want to stop working. I like my job and I love the headway we're making with the braking system. I'm frustrated with management, though. General Simtors and Chryslims are both introducing a hydraulic braking system on their higher end cars. The hydraulic system is more efficient than the mechanical one. Old man Fitz and his team of talking heads think that we don't need to change the brakes for the sake of change. It's going to become a safety issue at some point. They should make this change now to keep the edge against the other manufacturers!" Hearing his son's impassioned speech about his work brought a smile to Eugene's face. His boy had loved automobiles since he'd seen them on the boardwalk that day long ago and it'd only grown when he'd brought home that Auburn in 1906. Eugene knew that his son would never leave Dartford and he wouldn't ask him to.
"Keeping nanny on is a sound plan and your trust is there for you to use. It's just been collecting dividends since you left Springhaven. I'll have it transferred to a bank more accessible to you here. What about finding those boys a mother?"
"I can't think about that now, Father. Evie...she was not at all like I thought she was. She was meanspirited and malicious. I think it's just going to be the boys and I for a bit. I'm thankful that they won't remember any of this horribleness."

Is life flashing before your eyes?
"let's play hide and seek darcy" Then she followed Ben to a closet, he covered her ears and stayed there for probably hours until someone opened the door and Ben was ready to fight them only to notice it was the police man.
...
"promise me you won't leave?" "i won't"
And then whenever one moved to a foster home, the other one would go too even if it meant fighting whoever tried to separate them.
...
"i'm not hungry, you can eat it." Because Darcy had noticed how he would give her most of the food he'd find and going to sleep hungry. It was bad enough they had only a crappy tent and a blanket as a home.
...
"we kind of decided... to change our last name." The face on Sara and Dan lit up but waited for the siblings to finish their sentence before getting their hopes on.
"we want to be lewis." Darcy said with a smile and then the hugging and crying started, this was the best of times.
...
"fitz, they're gone."
It wasn't fair. Just a few years with them and then it was all gone. What were they going to do? What was she going to do? She still had Ben but she needed her mom, how was she going to do this without her mom?
...
The screaming and excitement after reading the acceptance letter, Ben telling her he knew she'd get in. The packing, dropping her in college and being alone was rough, but at least there was an internship she got an eye on, maybe if she was lucky enough.
...
"so we're supposed to go back to work as if a no.rse god didn't just showed up and lived with us for a while?"
"yes, darcy but i've got an idea that could help us communicate with him." Jane always had a great idea in mind, except when it comes to pizza, but Darcy adored her. Hey, maybe she should change her major.
...
"imma cut your toes." She wasn't serious. But it was fun to mess with agents and his face was hilarious.
"excuse me? you’re not getting anywhere near my toes." And then she said something about his fingers, making a jar collection or a necklace.
...
"you sure we won't get caught?" A giggle escaping her lips as they were sneaking to the throne room, L.oki just laugh and shook his head.
"don't worry, i've got it covered."
...
"c'mon darcy, let's get you out of this apartment." Jane basically pushing her out while Ben had her stuff in boxes, Darcy barely listening as she remembered his last words, and the huge mistake she just made a few hours earlier talking to Jin.
...
"congratulations dr lewis." Cheering, claps, and lots of hugs and congratulations from everyone who went to see her dissertation. She laughed, she cried, but it was fine because the most important people were there with her.
...
"this isn't an island." And disappointing Kartika, even if Darcy tried to reach out, the other doctor would just ignore her calls.
...
"dandy, tom, this is orion and he's gonna be staying with us." Dandy got close to the husky and sniffed him, then she was wagging her tail and Orion was wagging his too. Tom took longer to get used to the new dog, but at least they all nap together now.
...
"my carpet, man." Okay, a lot more happened and maybe the carpet wasn't as important as being alive but Jane gave her that carpet and to think it was used to... No. No thanks. But it was done now and she was safe.
...
"oh my god, this is going to be the most dramatic season ever!" "they always say that darce." But it was fun to watch this show with company, and forget about their problems for a while.
...
She looked out the window of the airplane, thinking if her friends were still at the airport or if they ran as soon as she walked through the gate.
...
Darcy was so tired. Maybe it was for the best, everyone knew she needed a rest and maybe this was it. She had regrets though, and it would suck to leave without fixing them.
#drabble#t; while i close my eyes hold me through this night.#long post#im forgetting stuff but im like i dont know my own timeline shh

Legendborn book review
I read this book because it's been recommended everywhere and I really love YA plus it's been a hot second since I read fantasy. Lastly I'm trying to diversify my reads and this fit well ^.^ I'm not really its intended audience since I'm not a young adult exactly but I really loved it ❤️
What I liked
Bree is super relatable and sweet but won't let anyone walk all over her. She's a strong character and I really loved going through her journey with her. I'm not African American but I'm not white either so I related to her in my own way as a latina. The latino community along with other poc have similar but different experiences with marginalization. I really liked the way the book shed light on that. The history behind the Arthurian legends is super white so I love that the author calls that out. I study English literature it's what my degree is in and I'm so exhausted by how saturated literature is with Eurocentralisn so I got really giddy that the author called this out and I was more willing to read it because it gives the impression Tracy Deonn will do something different and all her own with the Authorian legends and she does!!!
I'm not a huge fan on Arthurian Legend and I really thought that would kill the book for me but the author eases readers into it well. At times it goes a little too quick so I had to Google it but overall it was good. Pacing of the overall story was done pretty well too. The fighting descriptions and descriptions of the monsters, creatures, etc is pretty vivid. The characters (for the most part) are pretty diverse and fun and there's lots of LGBTQIA+ representation which I loved as a queer person.
The grief Bree experiences is portrayed so well. I love the confusion, denial, hurt, and sense of loss she feels it really made me sympathize with her and reflect on my own loss. Honestly, I think I cried. The way the author developed Bree with this grief is amazing.
The ending with the reveal regarding the Authorian legends and the scions was my favorite part. I won't spoil it.
Some things I didn't like
The biggest one for me is *drum rolllllllllllll*
Nick
Feel free to rip my head off for this but Nick is just not a fun or well developed character. Maybe it's my bias towards him for being a priviledged white guy with "charm"? I'll give a little leverage to him for that I guess. The cute romantic moments between him and Bree are cute(I won't lie, I blushed at some moments lol) but Nick seems like a flat character with little personality. His problems seem so trivial it makes me like him a lot less. The charm doesn't land well too often for me. He's very Mary sue. Maybe it's because he spends so much time with Bree that it makes him seem flat compared to her? I'm not sure honestly.
CON There are too many characters
There are so many characters that I had to reread it or use Google and that made it hard to feel attached to them. When you're establishing a world for the first time readers will focus more on the world than trying to remember several characters so it became daunting and more effort than it was worth.
*INCOMING SPOILER*
*INCOMING SPOILER*
Going off the too many characters point.
When Fitz dies I didn't care too much because again there were too many characters I couldn't wrap my mind around each one. I felt for Evan but not too much since again I feel like I hardly knew these characters. It makes the grief the characters experiencie kinda mid and I just kind of flipped through those parts. Bree's grief about her mom is powerful because the memories we are shown, the personality described, and the mom title she holds. The other characters are not too developed so it's just not a powerful sense of loss for readers. This was like the Percy Jackson series which I have the same complaints about.
CON: The love triangle
Sel is annoying at first he's untrusting, pessimistic, and sometimes antagonistic, but later we see his attitude is rightfully earned. He quickly becomes a loveable character and he falls for Bree. I actually think I like this better than BreexNick but I think Sel and Bree's interest with each other is subtle then hits full force out of nowhere towards the end which doesn't sit too well for me. Sel was also crushing on Nick but Nick didn't recipricate so it makes this a true love triangle since it seems that we currently don't know Sel's feelings towards Nick.
YA is always adding these love triangle and it's just so overused I find myself rolling my eyes when authors do this. I was really hoping this book wouldn't go down that route but here we are.
END OF SPOILERS*
Those are the last of the spoilers.
Recap(if you're still here lol)
4/5 stars.
I really recommend this book if you like fantasy and YA. If you're looking for fantasy with queer rep check this out ❤️ there are a lot of profound statements and experiences through a POC lens which is great. If you're going through grief and need a hug this book will give it to you and help you too. If you like cutesy romance this book has that too.

The Rare Bookseller Part 31: Fitz's Showtime
Masterlist
June 1905
TW: mind control, captivity, hypnotic induction
Fitz wasn't one for making plans, normally trusting in his ability to wing his way through any situation life threw at him. That approach had worked well enough until it had ended up with him imprisoned in a vampires' auction house.
Over the past few days, he'd already suffered what was practically a fate worse than death: being left with nothing to do but stew in his own mind. His treacherous brain had helpfully supplied an exhaustive list of every mistake he'd made along the way to end up here, and all of the ways he could have avoided this fate now that it was too late.
But with his cell neighbors unresponsive -- and he didn't want to think too hard about how that might have come about -- there wasn't anything at all to occupy him apart from meals and sleep. The meals were surprisingly generous and varied, and Fitz supposed that if they really were vampires, they must be fattening him up the way you would a prized pig. Sleep was less generous, as the pitch blackness, complete silence, stiff cot, and vampire guards all conspired to make him uneasy.
So he had plenty of time to think of how he would approach it when Lily came for his mind. Now, he'd ended up in a plush, too-comfortable chair, facing down the vampire who'd captured him.
He wasn't even tied down. He'd been nothing but ingratiating towards the vampires the whole time he'd been here. Lily had made it beyond obvious that he wasn't going to escape through strength or speed, and on his first night, he personally witnessed an angry, cursing, struggling man being dragged away and coming back a hollow shell.
No, that sort of struggle was pointless. He could instead bide his time. Be friendly and charming. Hope that someone would let their guard down or give him a special privilege. He'd have an easier time of it and more opportunities to free himself. At least, that was the theory.
Of course, all of that was for naught if he were actually put deep under whatever mesmeric spell they were using to keep the other captives still and silent.
He knew very well now that Lily was capable of it. He also knew that simply resisting would not do -- little chance they would give up and let him go instead of trying over and over again until he was broken. No, the only thing to do would be to play along, pretend to be under her spell, and hope he could keep the spell from touching him in truth. The longest of long shots, but he didn't have a better idea.
"So I hear you've been on your best behavior," said Lily with a smug smile. "Joking around with the blood grader and everything."
Fitz lounged in the chair as though his existence weren't on the line. "I wouldn't dream of being rude to a man who calls my blood special grade A fancy."
"And here I worried you might be trouble. But it seems you do know your place, better than you think," said Lily. "That's why I have a proposition for you."
"If it's another five dollar bet, I'm going to have to respectfully pass on that."
"Oh, no, nothing like that," she said, amused. "As I told you before, I'd like to sell you to a friend with deep pockets and a soft heart. I think he will appreciate you. The less you resist the conditioning, the more I can allow you to keep that wit of yours. That works out for both of us, doesn't it?"
"Oh, yes, just peachy," he said. She couldn't possibly think he was daft enough to trust her a second time, not when she held all the cards.
"I know you don't believe me, but it's actually a great deal for you. You'd live in a mansion and have an easy life, all in exchange for just a bit of blood." Her words were honeyed, and Fitz could practically feel them worming their way into his mind. "You won't have to be Fitzwilliam de Hastings, disgraceful and useless third son of the de Hastings shipping conglomerate. You won't have to be Phantom Fitz, scraping and clawing for fame with your little magic tricks. You can just be Fitz. Loved. Wanted. Cherished."
If only any of that were true. If only it weren't just a trick to soften his mind and get him to accept a vampiric master, one who would "love" and "cherish" him the same way he might "cherish" a fine bottle of wine.
"As intriguing as all of that is, and as flattered as I am by those lovely descriptions of me, I'm going to have to decline your offer," he said with a tight smile.
Her own smile turned predatory. "You haven't really given me a chance to persuade you."
"I think I've heard --"
"Have you, though? Or have you been half paying attention while focused all on yourself?" she said, leaning in closer. "Here I am, my entire focus centered on you, and you aren't repaying the favor. Why don't you focus, Fitz? Why don't you relax?"
There was no doubt she was exerting her power this time. Fitz could feel the magnetic pull of it. This was it, this was showtime -- the moment he had to somehow convince her that he was being enthralled, without actually falling. He couldn't make it seem too sudden or she wouldn't buy it. What should he do? Should he be visibly affected by what she just did? But he'd hesitated and --
"You think too much," she said. "I'm going to need to stop that first. Slow and soothe your mind, make it so hard to think that you just give in and listen. Look where all your thinking and scheming has gotten you. Won't it feel so much nicer not to do that?"
He nodded, with a bit of hesitation, widening his eyes, playacting that her mesmerism was taking him down once more. Lily was good at luring a mark, but so was he.
"Yes, isn't that easy?" she said, amused. "Just let my words soothe you so you can listen. It'll feel so good when those racing thoughts slow down. We both know it's inevitable, so why keep searching for an escape that won't come? Why not take the easy and pleasant path?"
"Because, as I told you before, I don't care to be a vampire's convenient lunch box," he said, making sure to slow his voice and lace it with doubt. The more she thought he was falling, the more careless she would be.
"It's so cute to watch your thoughts turn in your head. I can practically see them, dear. I can see that machinery working those threads of thought, weaving them together into plans and fears and witty little comments. I can see all the weaknesses in those gears, all the places where they can easily be slowed. Can you see it?"
"Hm?" he said, caught off guard, not sure how he should respond to that one. Did she suspect what he was up to? Of course she might, she might've mesmerized hundreds of people for all he knew, and he surely wasn't the first to think of pretending.
But that didn't mean she was always successful. Of course she claimed that she was. That was an important part of the confidence game; he would've done the same in her shoes. But for all he knew, her actual success rate was poor. Surely he wouldn't be the first to fool her. After all...
After all, he was...
Fitz blinked, trying to remember the end to that thought.
"...you don't even need to listen as your mind slowly drains of its cares and worries... so relaxed... so comfortable..."
He shook himself in mild alarm. She'd been talking this whole time and he'd zoned out thinking and hadn't kept up his act. He arranged his face into what he hoped was a convincingly dazed expression.
"How are you feeling, Fitz?" she asked.
"...Good," he said, an answer that seemed safe, as he wasn't quite sure how she expected him to feel.
"Good," she repeated. "Isn't this nice? Having someone's full attention on you without having to fight to earn it? Isn't it nice to be so wanted?"
His brow furrowed. "Well..."
"That's how it's going to be from now on. No more fight for attention, no more fight for approval, no more fight for survival. You'll have your needs taken care of and overflowing praise to boot. Just like you crave, deep down."
Oh, she was good. Good enough to make his chest ache with the thought of what she was offering. If only...
"You're going to be the best thrall, Fitz. I've never seen anyone as delectable, handsome, and charming, with such an intoxicating scent. You'll have your vampire eating out of the palm of your hand -- literally, perhaps."
Fitz blinked slowly, wondering how he should react to keep up the game, trying to ignore the warm sensations he got from the praise, no matter how manipulative and insincere "Do you think that cheap flattery will work on --"
"Look at me," she said, hooking a finger under his chin and gazing straight into his eyes. "You can see it, can't you? A future of being cherished and loved?"
"I --"
"Imagine a vampire who wants you, one who wants so badly to drink deep of your blood that he practically worships the ground you walk on. He'll want you always by his side, his beloved prize, protected and treasured."
It wasn't hard to imagine. It wasn't as if he hadn't thought about things like this on lonely, difficult nights. Something beyond sex and courtship. Intimacy. Comfort.
The kind of things that he hardly dared to think about for long, lest he feel their absence too keenly. The kind of things that were meant for those who had grown up wanted, who knew how to trust and let themselves fall in love. These delights weren't meant for the kind of person who wore a mask wherever he went and conned everyone he met.
"Just relax." She ran her fingers through his hair. "No more pain, no more struggle. No more struggle, now. No more struggle."
If any of this were true, it really wouldn't be so bad.
"No more struggle, no more fighting, no more resisting."
"I'm..." he mumbled. "I'm not..." He had to pretend that he was falling. He let his eyes blink so slowly.
"Oh, my dear, my Fitz, I know you aren't. You're doing such a good job right now."
His eyelids fluttered. "I am?"
"Yes, yes you are. You're doing such a good job. I told you, you're a natural. You're perfect."
He couldn't help but smile. That was good. She believed it was working.
"That's a good boy now. All you really want is approval, isn't it? For someone to see you and decide they're exactly what they need."
"Yeah..."
"You're going to have that, and all the praise and approval you could ever want," she said. "I promise."
He couldn't trust her, he remembered. This was all fake, just like every other time he'd been promised something. But he had to pretend that he believed. He was good at pretending.
"That's right, you're good at pretending. You're doing such a good job pretending to go under for me, Fitz."
Fitz felt the relief wash over him. Thank goodness for that. He'd been so nervous about this the past few nights, trying to convince himself that he'd be just fine outsmarting a vampire and saving himself.
Wait --
"It's okay!" Lily laughed. "It's okay, really. I know what you're up to. I expected that from you, of course. And I know what you fear. You fear being made mindless and docile like most of your cell-mates."
Fitz crushed down his panic. His plan wasn't working, his mind already felt hazy and sluggish from Lily's mesmerism, and now his worst nightmare might be about to come true. He'd spent so long escaping from a family where every little word and move was regimented, scrutinized, criticized, judged and punished. At least in those days he could escape into his head. Now, he'd be brought back to that place, with no recourse.
"...Yes, obviously, I fear that," he said, hating how vulnerable he sounded but not knowing what else to say. "Who wouldn't?"
"Who wouldn't?" she echoed. "But it doesn't matter, ultimately, because I've already given you a powerful hypnotic trigger the first time I had you in my thrall, and told you to forget it."
Adrenaline surged through him. "No, there's no way you --"
"Showtime, Fitz."
He only had one more brief moment to panic before his mind shut down entirely.
---
"...two, one, and wake. Come back to the land of the living now, Fitz."
He opened his eyes, feeling like he'd just awoken from a really refreshing nap. It took him a second to realize where he was and what had just happened to him, and all relaxation was immediately wiped out by his fear. Miss Lily had given him a hypnotic trigger, she must have erased his mind, he'd be nothing more than --
Except... he clearly wasn't.
"Confused?"
"You..." He wasn't really sure how to approach this. "You didn't wipe my mind, sir."
"Did you want me to?" she asked with a grin.
"No! Absolutely not, sir," he said. "But you had me -- you knocked me out --" He pinched the bridge of his nose, trying to make sense the overwhelming swirl of thoughts in his mind. Grateful that he still had an overwhelming swirl of thoughts in his mind. "What did you do, sir?"
"I made you obedient to vampires. I removed your ability to escape. And I made you crave our feedings. Nothing more, nothing less."
Fitz stared. It couldn't be that simple. Not that he was thrilled about the changes, but he had expected much more and much worse.
But he didn't feel different. He was still capable of thought. He was still nervous. He could still remember who he was.
"If that's all you were going to do, sir... why did you bother with all of your setup? Why not just mesmerize me the moment I walked in?"
"Because mesmerism is a performance, dear Fitz. I thought that you of all humans would understand that," she said.
Fitz could feel his eyebrow twitch.
"There's magic involved, of course, or it wouldn't take so strongly, but magic alone doesn't make me so effective at molding perfect thralls. Cold reading, misdirection, distraction -- all of these are critical to what I do. I needed your original plan to fail before I truly conditioned you, and I needed to plant the seeds that a vampire might cherish and accept you. The results speak for themselves, don't you think?"
"I'm not even sure I can tell what the results are, sir."
"Precisely."
Fitz scowled. Was he really that obedient now? Did she actually make him "crave their feedings"? So he would just accept some bloodsucker gently tilting his head to expose his vulnerable neck... a wicked grin as sharp fangs grew closer... his mind growing hazy with pleasure...
"Oh, goddamn it, sir."
Miss Lily laughed. "Now do you see?"
It was a relief, in a way, that he could feel the results of the thrall now. That meant he could get a bead on what she'd done to him. "Yes, I'm afraid I do, sir -- hold on, you also made me call you 'sir', didn't you?"
"Any vampire. Yes. But you're allowed to say it as sarcastically as you want."
"Thank you for that most gracious allowance, sir."
"Oh, you're very welcome."

Can you do a fic of Inhuman Reader meeting Skye/Daisy on the bus fir the first time?
Daisy Johnson x Male!reader
"Who's the new girl," you ask Ward as Jemma and Leo bring Skye up into the bus for the first time, well second time if you include her prior interrogation but this time she is seeing more than just a padded room.
"Her name is Skye, a hacker with rising tide," Ward mutters, clearly unhappy to have her on board.
"She's cute… really cute," you smirk.
"Did you miss the part where I said she's rising tide," he says crossing his arms.
"Hey you have the bad blood with them I don't," you say patting his shoulder and walking over to her, "let me get that for you."
You're smiling at her and Skye gulps, "uh thanks, I'm Skye."
"Y/N," you say, taking the box of her things she was carrying.
Leo rolls his eyes at you blatantly trying to charm her and Jemma chuckles.
You show her to her bunk and place the box down on her bed, "if you need anything I'm two bunks down, I've been told I make a really good omelet."
Skye laughs, "so Coulson is the leader, May is the pilot, Ward is the muscle, Fitz and Simmons are the scientists and you're the chef?"
"Actually I'm the team's resident alien who just happens to be a good cook," you smile.
"I'm sorry, did you just say an alien?" Skye says in disbelief.
"He's an inhuman," Leo huffs.
"A what now?" Skye asks confused.
"It's a long story but basically I have super strength and can lift this entire plane off the ground if I wanted to," you say trying to sound impressive.
"Huh," Skye says, glancing at your biceps and liking what she saw.
"Come now Fitz, let's leave these two alone," Jemma says, picking up on what's happening.
Leo sighs and begrudgingly follows Jemma back to the lab, Skye was supposed to be his new buddy not your next fling.
"So about that omelet, I haven't eaten since yesterday," Skye says with a grin.
"Usually a girl doesn't get one of my omelettes until after a night of fun but for you beautiful I'll make you one even if it is two in the afternoon," you laugh, motioning her to the kitchen,"this way."
Skye blushes at you calling her beautiful and not so subtly stares at your ass as you walk in front of her.
Once in the kitchen you make the omelet and set the plate down in front of her, "your omelet is served madame."
"That Ward guy doesn't like me does he," she asks, taking a bite and making a surprised sound at how good it is.
"It's not you he doesn't like, it's the rising tide, he has a history with them but that's his story to tell," you explain.
"So he doesn't trust me then."
"Pretty much though it's too bad for him because everyone else on this team likes you, me especially," you say with a wink.
"So you don't think I'm only joining this team just to infiltrate it and expose all of shields dirty little secrets?" She teases.
"Sweetheart you won't have to try that hard to get me to tell you all of my dirty little secrets," you say leaning in close to her.
"I'll keep that in mind," she says, leaning in even closer like she's gonna kiss you but instead takes another bite of her food.
"I have a feeling I'm gonna be making you a whole lot of omelets Skye, maybe even pancakes if you're lucky," you grin.
"I prefer crepes," she smirks.
"I'll start watching some crepe tutorials then," you laugh.
You were gonna like having her around.

Hey I'll write the essay if you won't
Copy pasting the descriptions here
Sunlight
It’s an invisible fire that can burn all the way to your core if you let it—and that’s still only the beginning of its power. The sun always has more to give—which means it can easily become too much if we draw upon it too heavily
Moonlight
It’s always cool and gentle and soothing. And it can sometimes be elusive. The moonlight will always be there for us in our darkest hours, but it’s also ever-changing. Sometimes weak. Sometimes strong. It all depends on the day.
Starlight
Each star will share only the faintest flicker—unless we ask it to give us more. Then it will pour out all we need in abundance. And even when we ignore its force, or wash it away with other light, it is always there waiting.
Okay so Sophie is super powerful and has done so many impossible tasks and dangerous things simply because it was asked of her. She always rises to the challenge. Sophie doesn't look very capable, but she's an "invisible fire"; a near infinite well of courage and power. But she also ruins stuff by doing TOO much, like reading Dimitar's mind the first time, which should be impossible but she did it and it was a horrible idea.
Keefe is very much starlight. In his relationship with Sophie especially, he usually stayed in the background, not wanting to mess things up with Fitzphie. But whenever she needed him, he supported her perfectly. And while Sophie was sorting out her emotions, he was always there, always waiting. (I know he ran away twice that doesn't count shut up shut up shut up) the whole thing with there being individual stars make this comparison a bit harder, but it still stands, and I think it works well.
Fitz's relationship with Sophie (I mean as people not dating) depended on the day. He had his moments of being a jerk and not being supportive, but he's also saved Sophie's life, like, SO MUCH. He's been there for Sophie in her darkest hours (leaving her family is one example), and he's the one who comforts Sophie, so soothing I guess. But this connection is honestly the weakest out of the three
When the prime sources work together, they work with complete unity and synchronization, none trying to overshadow the others. All of the drama between the three teens make that a bit impossible, but maybe in book 10?
according to the description of the prime sources in legacy I have concluded that Fitz is moon Sophie is sun and Keefe is stars in this essay I will

No Needles
FitzSimmons x Daughter!reader
Word Count: 697
Requested By: Anonymous
I don't know if you're taking requests, but if you are, and if you wouldn't mind, could you write a fan-fiction with FitzSimmons x Daughter!Reader where she needs blood work or to get up to date with her vaccinations and she's really scared of needles, but they help her through it? Maybe Jemma even ends up doing it for her? Thank you.
A/N: Thank you for this request! I love fitzsimmons sooo much!! Hope you enjoy!
Warnings: Lots of mentions of needles/bloodwork
“She’s not going to like it,” Fitz said, trying to talk some sense into Jemma.
“Well I can’t think of anything else,” she replied.
You had been feeling sick for a while and your mom had tried everything she could think of to help without getting needles involved but she had no idea what was wrong. If she was able to get you to a doctor and they could do blood work, it would probably solve the problem.
“Have you run all the tests you could?” your dad asked again.
“Those are worse than needles will be. It’ll take less than five minutes,” she explained.
“Then you can go and tell her the news.”
“She’ll hate me.”
Fitz shrugged and sighed, not knowing what else to do. Both your parents thought your fear of needles was irrational but they wouldn’t say that to your face.
~~~~~
Fitz and Simmons decided that they had to take you to the doctors to get whatever was wrong with you fixed so you could get better.
Your mom knocked on the door and waited for you to let them in. You were curled up in bed when they entered. Your mom sat at your desk while your dad sat at the end of your bed.
“Y/n sweetheart,” your mom said, “I haven’t been able to pinpoint what’s going on with you so we need to take you to a doctor.”
“But you’re both doctors,” you said, looking between both your parents.
“Well we’re not medical doctors,” your dad said.
“But they’re gonna stick me with needles. You know that. I don’t want to do that,” you said, shaking your head, “I’m not going.”
“Y/n,” Fitz said, rating his hand on your legs, “It won't be as bad as you think it will be.”
“Yes it will,” you argued, looking at your mom.
“It’ll take less than five minutes I promise,” she said, “And it’ll hurt but only for a second. Like a pinch.”
You kept shaking your head, “No no no. I’m not doing it. No way am I letting some rando stick a piece of metal in my arm. You’ll have to knock my unconscious before that happens.”
“Well that could be arranged,” your dad said, earning a glare from your mom.
“No we would never do that,” she said but an idea did pop in her head that she wished she had thought of before, “I think we have some tech here in the lab that would work. I could stick the piece of metal in your arm if that would work better for you.
You started chewing on your lip anxiously. You didn’t like the idea of being stuck with a needle by anyone but your mom doing it was better than anyone. You nodded slowly. You knew this as the best way to go about it. You still weren’t a fan but it was better than the alternative.
~~~~~
You were sitting in the lab watching your mom get ready to draw your blood and you were getting more and more anxious with every second. Your mom could tell so she was trying to hurry to get it over with for you.
Fitz had left to go and find you a snack you would enjoy to try and take your mind off of what was about to happen. He came back with a bag of chips and a cookie, “Hopefully this helps you not pass out afterwards,” he said, handing you the food.
“Fitz,” Jemma hissed, “Don’t say that,” she looked over to you, “You’ll be okay. Don’t listen to him.
He sat down next to you on the bed as Jemma finished up the prep work. She started to walk over to you with all the supplies. You buried your face into your dad’s shoulder and stuck out your arm towards your mom, “Just get it over with please.”
Simmons did as best as she could to be fast but gentle while Fitz tried his best to comfort you. Before you knew it, it was over and you were free to go. You weren’t the only one relieved though. Both your parents were glad as well.

"dadwin<3" "Grady is the best"
I see that and I raise you : Edaline being EVERYONES mother
(based off of MY momma truama lol most of this happened to me/based off of irl events but I added edaline lol)
Keefe seeing her make cookies and Mallow melt and wondering why she would do something just for him. it breaks her heart when he apologizes for "imposing himself" and "putting her out" and her gently telling him she does it because he is a lovely person that deserves all the mallowmelt in the world
Fitz and Biana getting hugs and food when their dad was broken minded and their mom was trying to hold it together. so they try not to cry and edaline comes over to help cook and take care of them and their mother.
Tam doesn't trust her. he has no reason to believe she won't start with the harsh remarks and withering looks so he stays far away from Sophie's family. He doesn't realize that he has a place to go until he has to run from his parents one night, and he light leaps to where ever he can to get away from the noise. after ignoring his sister and Sophie's imparter calls, he sits down and sobs. after a while in the dark, he hears someone calling his name. He hesitantly calls out because he shouldn't have been so dumb and now his sister is out in the dark because of him and he was supposetokeephersafeheissostupidstupidstupid- and it's edaline that emerges from the dark and despite his previous snarls and attitude she takes him home with a gentleness he hasn't known before
it happens when Lihn is over at Sophie's house with Biana. her mom never let her have her hair out of a braid, so she lets it down (for the baby alicorns to chew on, or so they think). it's the middle of the night and she forgot to braid her hair before bed and it got tangled and her mom was right, she wasn't even smart enough to take care of herself she would have died on her own if Tam wasn't there stupid stupid stupid stupid- and suddenly shes sobbing in her friends bathroom with a hairbrush and water swirling in the air and she can't stop she's going to ruin everything around her she can't - and edaline knows when her kids are crying, so she takes the hairbrush and bushes her kids hair and tells her all about why she was still up, that darn t-rex right next to her window. and when she is done with a waterfall braid that shows off how long and shiny Lihn's hair has grown, she tells her how beautiful the water Lihn commands is.
and suddenly it's so many years ago, before the fires burned. edaline sits with her first of (many) children and Jolie is drawing little stick figures, two tall, a blond and red head, a medium blonde one, and many little small ones around them. A little voice says "can we go see Ms. Della and her baby again? he's really cute" and Edaline could never deny her baby of anything so of course she nods a yes.. but her little girl continues "Mommy can I have a sibling?" and edaline is caught by surprise. she thought her baby girl had everything, friends, family, too many animals to count. she looks at her daughter, and says "maybe one day. but you would have to share, and help them all the time. I didn't like your auntie for a long while until we were both grown up." she teases, but somehow the child is undeterred. "Someday, I'll be the best big sister, and you'll have be so proud of how much I've helped my little sister! just like you mama!" -and then it's now again, she is in her daughter's room. it's green and full of life. And Sophie follows the path Jolie laid for her, and she can hear Jolie again, just like the day she died. "Look Momma, I helped her just like I said I would! Aren't you proud?" and edaline can hear all of her children downstairs. she can't hear Jolie's laugh in Sophie, and Keefe doesn't smile exactly like she did. But Jolie lives on as they walk the path she did. it may terrify edaline, but her babies have a big sister looking out for them above, and a home and family to come back to.
