Pucking Rookie II
Read Pucking Rookie here | ~8k words
From me: sloooooowwwwww burrrrrrrnnnnnnnn
Warnings: angsty, fluffy, douchey ex-boyfriend, a little violent
Summary: Harry is one of the most annoying people she's ever met. It's unfair he's talented, hot, and way nicer than her ex.
“So getting to the side of the ice before the puck is there is offsides?” Marc asked.
She nodded watching the Warriors center faceoff against the Bears on her TV screen. They were in the third period with only five minutes to go and the defenseman from the Bears was in the penalty box for a foul against the center. She thought it was a death sentence. “Correct.”
“They have that in other sports,” he sounded like a child remembering a fact from preschool. She smirked.
“Yes,” she laughed. “Are you sure you want to date this guy?”
“I want to date his dick,” Marc shrugged. She snorted and shook her head.
“Fair enough.”
Her phone lit with a message from Kael. He wanted to see her when she was in town with The Chargers. It was the last thing she wanted to do, but it would have been nice to get some of her stuff back. If he kept it.
“Are you speaking to Harry again?” Marc asked.
It was impossible to keep the smile from growing on her face. She rubbed a hand over her mouth to hide it. “Yeah...” she nodded. “It’s kind of hard not to talk to anyone on the team.”
“The fact you went a whole week without talking to that hot as hell man is beyond me. You’re a better woman than me.”
She snorted. They were coming down to the final two minutes and the goalie skated to the bench and another player glided across the ice. “So, when the team is down by a goal or two, they send the goalie off the ice so they can get another scorer in position. But it leaves the goal open. It’s risky.”
“You are seriously doing that team a disservice by not dating them,” he murmured. “If I was into women I wouldn’t let you out in public. You’re so perfect.”
She laughed. “I am not perfect.”
“Babe, you are stunning, you know hockey, and you make the best cookies I’ve ever tasted.”
“It’s not enough,” she told him sipping her water and standing up. But sure enough, The Warriors scored without their goalie in the next. She had to get to the rink for the night game. She smirked, wiggled eyebrows at Marc, and turned off her TV.
“You should bet money on these things.”
She put on her regular outfit for a night of taking pictures at the rink. Her hands had to be free (and yes, they would freeze) but she wore a thick sweatshirt below the jersey. It had Niall’s name on the back. She figured he was the least likely to make a big deal of wearing someone’s name on her back. She honestly hoped no one noticed that she picked it. She didn’t want to make it seem like she had a favorite on the team. Because she didn’t. And it definitely wasn’t Harry Styles.
Truthfully, she stole Niall’s old jersey out of the bin in the locker room. It got ripped in a game where someone got a little too irritated with Niall’s good goal tending. There was a significant tear along the seam because Harry was the first one to get to Niall when the incident occurred. Harry accidentally tore at it while trying to get his hands on the opponent and wound up in the penalty box for two minutes because of it.
She spent part of the following evening sewing it carefully back together while watching a movie on Netflix.
Once her winter boots were on, she slipped her camera bag and press pass over her shoulder and neck respectively. She was ready for the evening. Marc walked her down to her car. They both waved at Michael who was pacing outside while smoking a cigarette. “Hey Sweetheart,” he called. Michael was about five years younger than her and way too grumpy for his own good. But he often perked up on her behalf. “Good luck to the team.”
“Thanks!” She smiled as if she had any responsibility for how well they did.
Marc made sure she got in the car safely and winced when her car took two turns to start because of the cold. Once assured her car would remain running, Marc went to Michael’s side and bummed a cigarette from him as she pulled out of the lot in front of the building. What a weird little family she was creating in a weird part of town.
Her car seemed angry that it was being asked to do its job, and she worried that one day it was going to die on her way there. If it did, she was nervous it would be a thing and Uncle Charlie would be pissed. She could see it now. But instead, she listened to her music, stopped to splurge for a coffee made by someone else, and headed to the rink.
At the very least, she was happier than she had been in a very long time. There was no weight around her worrying she wasn’t the perfect girlfriend, the perfect arm candy for her hockey boyfriend. She didn’t worry about looking weird or awkward. She felt more like herself behind the lens, at the rink, and at The Locker Room, and at her apartment with her new friends than she had in years.
Maybe she didn’t need any of her stuff back from Kael. If she never spoke to him again, then she would be okay.
*
“Niall you lucky motherfucker!” Asher yelled.
She wasn’t paying much attention as the boys finally arrived for their game. She was in the middle of a conversation with Uncle Charlie as she went over the pictures she was planning to submit to the news outlets, looking over the tiny screen in her hands. She showed off her non-athletic photography skills. This included the senior pictures she took of her cousin (Charlie’s daughter), and she told him which ones she thought were best. This naturally led to discussing the holidays. Her hope was he was willing to carpool to her parents’ house. It was selfish, mainly because she didn’t think her car would make it the three-hour drive out of the city. Not that she was going to tell him that.
But the boys interrupted before she could get that far. She turned, smiled brightly at her team of restless twenty-something-year-old puppies. She set her coffee on the ledge of the window of an office for one of the team assistants and gave the boys a proper wave. “Are you all ready for gameday?” She asked.
But no one was paying any attention to her greeting. Instead, their gazes were focused on the number on her body. The black-and-silver-lettering and logo was riveting it seemed even though it was on all their own jerseys as well.
So much for it not being a thing. “Sweetheart, I’m honored,” Niall chuckled. Were his cheeks pink in embarrassment? That was cute—he looked so nervous. Niall was adorable. She could see why Harry was so protective of him. In the time she had gotten to know him, she seriously didn’t know how someone so sweet and nice could be roped into a rough and tumble sport like hockey.
“What?” She asked curiously, hoping that if she acted confused, they wouldn’t make it a bigger deal than it needed to be.
It seemed there was little chance of such a thing. “You’re wearing my jersey,” his grin remained shy and so, so adorable.
Well, maybe she could use it to her advantage. “Well, don’t tell the others but you’re my favorite,” she winked.
But it wasn’t quiet and everyone heard it. The gasps and scoffs of disbelief echoed loudly as they entered the locker room to drop some of their stuff. First there would be game day entrance photos, the boys looking dressed in not quite formal but not so casual attire. The stuff that made hearts throb to look at them (and other organs throb if she was honest). They would pose as if they hadn’t already walked in, and no one would know except for them.
Niall turned a shade redder and headed in. “Don’t break my goalie,” Charlie warned.
“I would never break Niall!” She pouted petulantly at her uncle. “Why are they all up and arms about the jersey? It was free and I fixed it. Is it not allowed?”
He shook his head. “Don’t worry about it, Sweetheart,” he chuckled. “It’s just a dumb hockey-guy thing,” he patted her on the back and headed into the locker room.
“Harry’s running late,” Lang said as he returned with just a duffle bag and an overpriced water bottle that was part of his sponsorship deal. “Hit some traffic or something. So, you might not get his game day entrance,” he told her with a shrug.
She nodded. “That’s fine,” she shrugged and snapped a picture of him while he wasn’t really focused, testing the lighting and frame once more now that she had a subject. “There’s enough of you guys to suffice as eye candy for the day we probably won’t need everyone’s picture.”
Lang laughed, covering his mouth. “Sweetheart, please say that in front of Harry while I’m around and you’re wearing that jersey,” he begged. She frowned unsure what he meant by that specifically. Instead, she shook her head and began ordering the captain and his teammates around to get the first part of her evening’s tasks done.
*
Harry showed up just as she took the last shot of the team walking into the locker room. He was pouring the last bit of his protein shake into his mouth while she examined her camera once more and sipped her coffee that she left on the ledge of the window. There was so much more activity back by the locker room as game time approached. There were team doctors, athletic trainers, assistants, and more milling around.
Harry hated being late. It messed with his pre-game rituals. But there wasn’t anything he could do about traffic. Plus, Hayden lived on the exact opposite side of the city. He really shouldn’t have bothered with trying to sneak a quick hook-up in before the game. But he needed something to take the edge off and nothing was working.
Granted the hook-up left him feeling unsatisfied as well. Although it wasn’t Hayden’s fault. She was lovely, truly. It was all Harry’s brain. Something was off and he couldn’t quite place it.
But one look at the pretty photographer wearing the number thirty-one on her body reminded him that he was much more aware of the issue than he was willing to admit. He blinked hoping his eyes were mistaken. But no, the name Horan was on her back.
“Rookie!” He called.
What the fuck was he going to say? It didn’t even make sense for him to be mad. She didn’t do anything wrong. God, Harry was an idiot. She was off limits. For all he knew she had one of everyone’s jersey and was going to rotate through.
It was probably not a good sign that she looked up when she heard that nickname, right? It wasn’t good to get used to knowing it was Harry calling her the moment she heard his teasing. But right then, Harry didn’t look teasing. His gaze was laser-focused on her torso (and not the way she would expect him to be focused on her chest). “Hi Harry,” she smiled, sweetly; hoping vehemently that this wasn’t about the jersey. “Do you want a game day photo?” She asked gently holding her camera up.
“What the fuck are you wearing?” He snapped.
This hoping thing ain’t shit. She thought. Glancing down at her outfit once more, she frowned. “I thought I looked cute,” she pouted.
Harry was all but half a foot in front of her. “You’re wearing Niall’s jersey.”
“It’s from the locker room, it was going to get thrown out, so I just sewed it,” she shrugged. “Is that not allowed? No one said anything.”
He seemed to bristle but settled at the same time. She really didn’t get what the big deal was. “S’fine,” he grumbled. “Y’do look cute. You always look cute,” he rolled his eyes and pushed the locker room door open with a little too much power. She shook her head and heard laughter from behind the door.
“Boys are weird,” she sighed and headed for the tunnel to get to the ice.
*
She texted Michael from her car when she got back to the apartment at one in the morning. It was dark, cold, and she had a weird feeling as she pulled into the small lot. He hurried out yawning as he did. He was wearing only shorts, a t-shirt, and slippers. “Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you,” she frowned and hurried to the front of the building. He waited patiently for her to lock her car.
“S’fine, Sweetheart,” he shrugged and yawned.
“Thank you,” she said gratefully. She really needed to find a new place, so she didn’t have to bother them. But she swore she could feel someone’s eyes following her as she closed the entry door to her building. Michael headed down the first-floor hall to his place without another word. She stopped at her small little mailbox, locked on the inside. Only a slit in the wall from the outside to get in. It was all junk and bills. She didn’t give her address to anyone. Not even Uncle Charlie had her real address. She mentioned some apartment complex on the good side of town. But when pressed, she immediately diverted and asked if he would be okay with shipping her Amazon packages to his house. It did the trick, fortunately. Her parents didn’t think much of it either because they knew Charlie was keeping an eye on her.
It was all she could afford after not working much because of Kael and his weird obsession with making sure she played the proper part of picture-perfect hockey girlfriend. This was a sketchy part of town, and she knew it and didn’t like living here either. But what could she really do? Making friends with Michael and Marc was easy and she was lucky. So very lucky to have people keep an eye out for her when she got home late and felt like she was being followed.
So, when she turned to the stairwell behind the little mail room and saw the very angry hockey player outside the door of her building peering through the glass, she practically jumped back a foot and immediately and nearly screamed.
She clamped a hand over her mouth and pressed the other one to her heart, dropping her mail in the process. “What the fuck are you doing?!” She whisper-screamed opening the door.
“What the fuck are you doing here?” Harry hissed stepping inside. He gathered up her mail handing it to her. He continued glaring as he took in the run-down place. “Do you live here?”
“Yes!”
“Rookie, this is not a safe area. Why are y’living here?”
“Because I can afford it? What kind of fucking question is that?”
Harry looked so good having just played a grueling game that included overtime and a shootout. His hair was still damp from his shower. His face glowing that way he managed to do in the dead of winter that was so unfair to her. He smelled good—too good. He wore a black hoodie, black pants, and black sneakers. Like he was trying to blend in with the night. The only not good-looking thing about him at the moment was the sour expression on his otherwise extremely pretty features. The furrow between his eyebrows looked angry. The green of his eyes appeared darker, almost black to match his clothes. His mouth was pressed in a flat line.
But even angry, Harry looked hot. He had been angry all evening. Since he set foot in the arena. He didn’t relax when they all went to The Locker Room either. He hardly spoke to Niall and barely acknowledged his good goal tending. “Does coach know you live here?”
She shook her head. “Harry, shut the fuck up. Why did you follow me home like a creep!?”
“Because s’one in the morning and y’said y’were exhausted and that your car was a piece of shit! I was making sure y’made it home. I didn’t know home was even scarier!”
“Hey babe, everything alright? Michael texted you would be on your way up and to keep an ear out.” Marc called as he approached them descending the stairs.
“Oh, for fuck’s sake,” she whispered and rubbed her temples.
“Holy shit,” Marc gaped.
“Harry, this is Marc,” she introduced the pair, but lacked any enthusiasm. “He’s my neighbor.”
Harry glared at him—even though he didn’t deserve it. “Hi,” he said curtly.
“I’m fine,” she told Marc. “Harry followed me home.”
“Great game today, man,” he looked awestruck; no longer concerned about her well-being at all and entirely concerned about the beautiful man in front of him. “That was a bogus penalty in the second period.”
“I said the same thing,” she nodded in agreement hoping it would remind Harry that she made her own little place here and he didn’t need to worry. That he was her friend.
Harry softened just a little. His shoulders untensed ever so slightly. “Thanks,” he nodded curtly, trying to remain polite to a fan when he wanted to shake the sweet photographer. “Rookie, show me your place,” he ordered.
“Michael and I keep an eye on her,” Marc offered sensing there was a deeper issue.
Harry eyed him up and down and then turned back to her. “Show me your place,” he repeated.
“No!”
“Jesus, babe, show the hot man your apartment!”
She pressed her fingers to her forehead and slid them down her nose and over her lips as she spoke. “Marc,” she sighed. “Go away.”
“Huge fan,” he held his hands up in surrender and made his way upstairs.
Harry was staring at her in disbelief. “You’re not living here.”
“Harry,” she sighed.
“I’ve had a shit day, Rookie. Don’t fucking test it,” he snapped and headed up the stairs figuring he would find it on his own because he would just know? She shook her head.
“Third floor,” she mumbled following behind him. He sighed with relief from ahead of her.
“Take that stupid fucking shirt off,” he said once the door was shut.
“Why are you so angry today?” She shed her camera carefully setting it on the small table. Then her badge. She dropped her keys on the table too. Quickly, before he could get angrier, she rid herself of the jersey and her hoodie.
Harry sighed again, relieved it seemed of what she didn’t know. Without broiling in irritation over his friend’s name all over the girl he had a massive crush on, he was able to focus a little more. Glancing around he inspected the small place. It was cute, adorable even. Just like her.
She bent to take her shoes off. “Do you want water or something? You’re so keyed up... Maybe you want a sedative?” She rolled her eyes at him.
He snorted. “Pass,” he continued looking around. “S’nice, really,” he murmured
“It is,” she agreed. “I don’t plan on staying here forever, but it’s what’s affordable right now. Not all of us make seven figures a year for their talent.”
He ignored her and wandered around the little rooms she had. On all of her walls were more photos she had clearly taken. It didn’t take much for him to figure out her style. It was natural and lovely. “S’cold in here.”
“Heat’s expensive,” she remarked. “Do you want some tea?” She asked.
He shook his head. “No, thank you, Rookie,” he mumbled relaxing more as he inhaled deeply. Everything was so intoxicatingly her in this room. It smelled so good. She smelled so good. “Is Marc in love with you?” He asked offhandedly.
“Not unless I identify as a man, which I don’t.”
He smirked, unable to hide the amusement. She was so funny, it was unfair. Beautiful, talented, kind, and funny. She was made in a lab and meant to tempt every one of Harry’s desires. “What ‘bout the guy that walked y’in?” He picked up the book that was on her coffee table and read the back of it, wondering what kind of books she was into and if she liked the same things as him. He set the book down carefully.
“Michael? No. He’s a baby.”
“He’s taller than you,” he murmured.
“He’s not in love with me. Well, actually, I do make him cookies. So maybe,” she shrugged.
He shook his head wishing he could focus on his own questions. But she was too quick and Harry was too tired.
On the wall of her living room was an array of small frames. Probably fifteen or so four by six photos that his mom would have put in a photo album. He recognized Charlie and Ray. A man he could only assume was Charlie’s brother and her dad as they looked like twins with different hair and eye coloring. Girls in their teens, a dog that never seemed to age even though the family around it did, and her gorgeous smile.
There was also a stupid fucking picture of Niall on her wall beside a team photo which made him want to yank it down and stomp on it like a psychopath.
Poor Niall did nothing to deserve Harry’s wrath. The team teased him the moment he went into the locker room telling him all about how she said Niall was his favorite. It wasn’t surprising. Niall was nice and sweet. He didn’t hook up with a bunch of girls nor did he go from city to city hoping to be entertained by a different girl. He was a nice guy. Probably the kind of guy she did deserve. Especially after whatever it was that Kael did to arguably ruin his life by losing her. He barely congratulated him on his saves in the game. Didn’t even buy him a drink at the bar either. To Niall’s credit, he didn’t take it too harshly. Merely smirked at him as he glared. Knowing it really had nothing to do with him at the heart of it.
But the picture of his best friend on her wall just made him grumpier all over again. It didn’t help that Harry was exhausted. He dreaded having to drive home this late. Especially when he was mad on top of everything else. But having seen where she lived, he was glad he followed her home. Didn’t care that it was creepy. It would have made him insane to know she wasn’t safe.
There wasn’t much he could do but turn his attention to her kitchen so he could avoid the stupid picture of his stupid friend who he didn’t like very much at present.
Right there on the fridge door was one of her family photos—clearly taken at a wedding or something. A quick glance showed she wasn’t in it which made him sad. How often was she left out of pictures because she was always the one taking them? Beside her family was the side-by-side duo picture of herself that he saw on her website. A photo of her parents’ dog next to that. A couple landscapes of the ocean and sun.
Right in the middle of all her photos was a picture of Harry.
He swore time stopped. All his anger towards Niall disappeared. Why was he on her fridge? It was the picture of when he scored a goal, from one of the first games she photographed this year. The one she sent him the first time she texted him. “Why’s this on the fridge?” He asked, straightening it alongside the others it. There was a magnet on the back and Harry felt his chest constrict a bit knowing he wasn’t on the wall, but he was in her house. She cared in some way enough to put him among her pictures of family and friends.
She shrugged. “I put all of my favorite pictures on the fridge,” she said it so simply. It wasn’t a big deal to her. The pictures belonged there and that was it. It just was.
His heart sincerely skipped a beat. Like if he were a cartoon, a graphic of a little heart monitor would appear in a cloud bubble, and it would show an irregular rhythm representing the way she made him feel. His gaze flickered to her briefly, but he was worried he would stare and never look away. He cleared his throat and looked toward her wall of photos. “What ‘bout the wall over there?”
“Those are nice pictures too, but I don’t really look at the wall much. It’s behind me when I sit on the couch, you know...? The fridge however,” she had a smile in her voice. “I love snacks and cooking and baking. So, I’m in the kitchen a lot. So, I like to look at my favorites.”
Harry felt softer. Relieved. Less mad and annoyed than he’d been in hours. Maybe even days if he was honest. Harry was one of her favorites. Even if she didn’t mean he was her favorite and merely the photo.
“Bunny?” He asked softly staring at the other half dozen or so of her favorites.
She didn’t miss a beat answering to the nickname that she didn’t really like. But she did really like the way it sounded when Harry said it. “Yeah?”
“Would y’ever wear my jersey?” His voice was quiet, he felt stupid for asking. The question wouldn’t leave his brain until he said it. Whatever the answer was, he had to ask it.
She frowned and sighed. Harry hated that. It seemed like a terrible question, and he was dreading her answer immediately. “I hate to say it, Harry, but I can’t afford a Styles jersey.”
He rolled his eyes. “Would y’wear it?”
“Of course I would, Harry. You’re my friend just like Niall is. And Asher, Callie, and Lang. I really only wore it because you guys were throwing it out.”
Harry rubbed a hand on the side of his face. He could live with that. “Alright.”
“Did I miss something?” She asked. But he knew how perceptive she was. She had to know how much it bothered him that she wore his friend’s name and number on her body today and not his. She had to know he had a crush on her. Even if he couldn’t do anything about it.
“Nope,” he shook his head not wanting to get into it further.
“Are you sure I can’t get you something to drink?” She asked again. “You seem really out of sorts...maybe you need something without alcohol?”
“Sure,” he sighed. She could give him whatever she wanted. She wouldn’t be able to tell, but he was relieved now. He didn’t need anything else. “Tea would be nice...” She nodded, gently nudging him out of the way to get a pitcher of water from her fridge. “Can I stay here?”
“You want to stay in my crappy little apartment? After you went on and on about how unsafe it is?” She questioned filling the kettle on her stove.
Fair point, Bunny. “M’exhausted, Rookie. I told you I had a bad day.”
“I see that,” she pouted and scanned him up and down. “Of course you can. You have to take my bed though; the couch is too small for you.”
He shook his head. “M’not kicking y’out of your bed when I barged in.”
“Well... it was... kind of nice that you made sure I got home safely. I’m glad it was you, but I was pretty nervous... so if it wasn’t you...” she shook her head and looked at her hands wringing them awkwardly. “I’m sorry you got stuck here,” she pouted.
More of him softened somehow. It seemed impossible that she could make him feel any softer. He was certain he never felt softer than when she said that his picture was one of her favorites. The way she spoke was so gentle.
“I fall asleep most nights on the sofa anyway,” she shrugged, unaware of the thoughts rolling through Harry’s head. She probably hadn’t a clue how she made him imagine her adorable body curled into the small sofa with a blanket around her. What it would be like for him to come home from a game and find her snuggled into a sweatshirt with his cologne on it, the TV playing the post-game highlights, and her hands tucked under her cheek. Did she snore? Harry ached to know.
God he was fucked. How did she walk into the arena and do that? Harry thought of nothing but hockey and hookups. Now he wondered if she snored at night.
She carefully poured the hot water into a mug with The Charger’s logo on the outside and dipped the tea bag in and out a few times letting the water do its thing. She slid it across the small counter before she poured her own mug. They stood silently for a moment, sipping tea.
“I might have something of Kael’s for you to sleep in.”
“I’d rather die than sleep in that piece of shit’s clothes.”
She smirked around the edge of her mug and shook her head. “Are you cold?” She asked.
He shook his head. It was cold but he wasn’t cold. He would be fine with a few blankets. A warm body beside him would be good too, but he wasn’t sure he could convince her.
She put her mug in the sink and went to the bathroom without warning. After a few minutes, she returned. Her face was washed of makeup, her hair pulled back, and she wore a pair of sweatpants instead. She grabbed a pillow off her bed. “Normally I’d change your sheets, but... It’s too late. I hope you don’t mind.”
Wrapped up in sheets, blankets, and pillows that smelled like her? Fine by him. “S’fine, Rookie. Thank you.”
She grabbed more blankets from under her sofa cushion; a space for storage hiding in plain sight. She placed them at the end of her bed and then went to the sofa. “Make yourself at home,” she offered. “Night, Harry,” she yawned and settled into her pillow and blanket, nuzzling into the warmth just as he imagined, her hands tucked under her cheek.
“Night, Rookie,” he mumbled and climbed into her bed. He was practically asleep before he was fully settled.
*
It couldn’t have been more than a couple hours later—it was still very dark out. Her bed was warm, soft, and smelled so fucking good he thought he might sew himself into the sheets just so he never had to leave. But it was undeniably cold. Even in his hoodie and sweats.
He glanced across the room and could barely make out the shadow of his pretty crush curled into the sofa. She looked chilled and Harry felt so immensely guilty. He got out of bed, his feet nearly stinging on the cold floor. Without more thought he scooped her up. His arms looping around the back of her knees and the other around her waist. He tried to move her without jostling her too much. Her head fell toward him, pressing into his chest as he carried her back to the bed. He settled her under her sheets and blankets. He wanted nothing more than to cozy up to her, but he wasn’t going to ruin the progress he made that night. Instead, he slipped between the sheet and blanket, draped the pair of them in the other blankets.
She sighed loudly in her sleep. Like she was comfortable.
Harry didn’t think there was anyone cuter than her.
*
Harry woke up to her burrowed into his side. He didn’t dare move. If she wanted out, she would have to make the move. There wasn’t anything that would get Harry to remove himself from her warm body in the same bed as him. It was almost too warm, but well worth it.
“Jesus,” she whispered suddenly and scooched back in the bed. “Harry!” She hissed.
He smirked. “Good morning, Rookie,” he yawned. “Sleep well?”
“How did I get here?”
“Y’must have tucked yourself in with me,” he smiled.
She rolled her eyes, shook her head. “Shut up,” she mumbled.
“Y’jus’ looked cold,” he shrugged. “S’plenty of room.”
She sighed. “Well thanks, it was cozy,” her cheeks turned red. “Do you want something to eat?” She asked, immediately pivoting from their little late-night cuddle.
“Y’make breakfast too?”
“It’s actually my favorite meal...” she trailed off pushing the covers off. “I love going out to breakfast,” she got out of bed and grabbed a sweatshirt from her dresser. Harry sensed there was more to that, but as soon as he saw her sweatshirt, all previous thoughts left his mind.
Niall’s number and name on her body made him mad.
The words Glacier Wolves across the front in it’s hideous font was going to send him to an early grave.
“No,” he shook his head immediately. “Take it off.”
“You’re awfully bossy about my outfits, Harry,” she rolled her eyes. “It’s cold. I need a sweatshirt.”
Harry pulled the one he was wearing off. “Here.”
For a moment she eyed it. Harry couldn’t figure out her expression or the pause that lasted as she examined it. “Harry it’s like ten degrees out,” she pulled the hem down and walked toward her bathroom again.
He pouted, grumbling to himself as he put his clothing back on. “M’burning that,” he mumbled.
“I heard that!”
*
Harry left after breakfast. He didn’t bug her about her sweatshirt. But he did beg her to turn the heat on for a little bit. He helped her with dishes and not once did the conversation feel forced, awkward, or like there was a lull that lasted too long. He watched her take pictures of her food, then the way the light streamed in through the window, so it hit her coffee table just so. She adjusted her book to an open page and set a hot cup of tea beside it.
With a couple of snaps, Harry watched her while biting into his toast. “Can I see?” He asked.
“It’s nothing special. I just take random pictures sometimes for practice,” she explained.
He wiped his hand on his leg and held it out expectantly for the priceless equipment. It felt weird, awkward. Tentatively, she handed it to him. Not only had she captured the beauty of the early morning in her little place, she took another picture of Harry drinking tea in between bites.
He smiled. “Aw, Rookie, me?” He teased. She didn’t say anything, looked anywhere but him while her pink cheeks spoke for the emotions she was feeling. “M’not sure why but m’still really impressed,” he tabbed through the pictures she took on the little screen.
She must have faced the camera backwards because her pretty smiling face with the ice rink as back drop behind her illuminated the screen. Harry loved everything about the photo. It had her and his beloved hockey rink. “Can I have this one?” He asked.
“I was going to delete that,” she blushed. Harry frowned.
“No way, Rookie, y’look adorable. Let me have it, y’got me on your fridge.”
She looked away shyly, nodded silently. “I’ll text it to you.”
Harry was unbelievably talented and attractive. He could outthink his opponents on the ice and he was sweet enough to make sure she got home safe. Carried her to bed in the middle of the night to keep her warm.
It wasn’t fair that she couldn’t have him. Even if it was her own doing.
Around ten or so, Harry had to head out and she hated to admit it, but she really missed him almost the moment he left.
*
The following day she headed to practice taking pictures for the team’s social media posts. Ray and Charlie were at the center of the ice waiting for the team to file out of the locker room. She took a picture of her uncle and surrogate uncle. Then she setup for some detail shots while waiting. The score book and pen on the bench. A stick propped up behind the bench. She laid flat on the ice and got a shot of the coach’s shoes on the center of the ice.
“Hey Sweetheart!” Callie called from across the rink—first one on the ice. Ray threw a puck at him, and he shot it into the net. Charlie threw another and he pushed the puck back and forth near him. “Laying down on the job?”
She snorted, shook her head with a smile. “Come here!” He glided over and stopped in front of her without getting ice all over her and her equipment. “Put your stick flat on the ground,” she ordered. She reached out and touched the puck and pushed it in front of the slight bend at the end of his stick. “Take your helmet off, and your gloves.”
“You gonna tell me to take more of my uniform off, Sweetheart?” He teased but followed her directions.
“You wish.”
“I do wish, Sweetheart, I do.”
She shook her head while centering her view on the shot she wanted. “Don’t move.”
“Yes ma’am,” he sighed dreamily. He was enjoying her bossing him around too much and she couldn’t help but smile while she clicked the shutter taking several of the same photo.
“Okay, thank you,” she carefully maneuvered so she would flop awkwardly back on the ice. Callie immediately grabbed her camera and then took hold of her arm to help her up. Once righted, she brushed the ice off the front of her body. She was quite chilled from lying on the ground for so long. Plus her apartment was cold, naturally her car’s heater was chilly, and it felt like she never quite got out of the cold ever because of it.
“Can I see?” He said excitedly.
She turned the camera to show him. Her teeth chattered a little more than usual. Callie put an arm around her shoulders to add some warmth. He was tall and lean like most other hockey players. And undoubtedly attractive too. “You’re pushing it, Kian,” she shook her head but didn’t mind how warm he felt.
“No one calls me Kian except my mother, Sweetheart,” he reminded her. “You’re cold. Don’t read into it,” he took the camera from her and thumbed through the photos pressing the buttons beside the screen to view them. “Wow,” he murmured. “That’s so cool, Sweetheart. It looks really beautiful.”
She blushed with pride and ducked her face. “Thank you.”
“You know... I’m not sure what he did, but Kael is an idiot to lose you,” he affirmed clicking through more of the photos. “Can we take one?” He asked.
“Yeah, sure,” she turned the camera around and pointed where Callie needed to look. He squeezed around her a little tighter as she clicked the shutter. He immediately took the camera back and examined the photo. “Cute, Sweetheart,” he grinned and continued flipping through all her photos. Including the ones from her breakfast with Harry the day before. “Ooh... what’s this?” He cooed. “Did you and Styles have a sleepover?!” He gaped.
She took her camera back. “No,” she didn’t even blush. It wasn’t his business. She didn’t want Charlie to hear.
And she definitely didn’t want Harry to hear.
Harry slid onto the ice his eyes zeroing in on his teammate’s arm wrapped around her almost immediately. She felt a little awkward knowing that he seemed to be a bit territorial about her even though it wasn’t really within his right. He glowered at the puck that Charlie tossed to him, and it sailed almost immediately into the net from where he stood. “I can’t compete with him, Sweetheart,” Callie frowned. “Please tell me you don’t actually like Styles.”
“I like all of you, Kian,” she rolled her eyes, tearing her eyes away from his broody skating.
“But you like me most, right?” Asher appeared seemingly out of nowhere.
“She likes you least,” Lang said assuredly skating by just as quick. She laughed and shook her head.
“I like you all equally,” she promised.
“Bull shit, you can’t sell a twenty-way-tie!” Asher frowned.
She loved her little family away from her real one. This team made her feel more loved and appreciated than Kael ever did. It was eye-opening in so many ways. Was it just because she took pictures on the team? Would they behave this way if she was just a girlfriend? Or the coach’s niece without special treatment? She got special treatment from the other girlfriends and wives of the Glacier Wolves simply because she was Kael’s girlfriend.
At about the same time she started to feel drained by her relationship (the last six months before it ended), she overheard two of the significant others talking about her in the bathroom. While she was using the bathroom... They said Kael was an idiot to stay with her. She was a leech and nothing more. For three years she had been nothing but a good girlfriend. She attended every game, catered to Kael’s workout schedules, practice schedules. She monitored his calendar and made sure his stunning, penthouse apartment was cleaned. She hosted parties for his teammates. For three years post-graduation she didn’t take photography gigs, skipped family parties, and let her degree sit on a shelf unused to it’s full potential.
Maybe The Chargers boys were just being kind because she was the coach’s niece. Maybe her skill really was subpar. Wasn’t she really just a leech in a new way now? Her uncle got her this job and they didn’t really need her.
Kael fucked her up good. Made her feel worthless. He didn’t value her skill and made her believe she wasn’t good enough in any part of her life. “Hey Sweetheart?” Callie asked, giving her a squeeze, bringing her mind back to the present. “You good?”
She nodded. “Sorry, just daydreaming.”
“About me?!” Asher grinned. She smiled. At least for now, this family she had was sweet. She wanted to believe they valued her for her and savor it for however long she could.
*
While the boys practiced, she went to the locker room and tidied up, brought the dirty uniform hamper to the laundry room, and brought the clean laundry back. She took more detail shots without the boys around. It was fun to get them in the shots, like the ones she took with Callie. But ever-like puppies, it was easier to get pictures without them milling around eagerly. She took some really nice shots of their locker space. With the right lighting, it would look like they were ready for battle—she could see it in her head, and she couldn’t wait to get the shots of their numbers alongside equipment on her computer to play with the settings.
But after about an hour of that, she ran out of things to do. She sauntered back to the rink and watched from the bench. Ray and Charlie stood at the center dictating where they should go and what to do next. It was mesmerizing. The beauty and graceful agility these tall, lean, padded men exuded was incredible.
“Take a picture it will last longer!”
The team burst into laughter as Callie called out to her. She shook her head but certainly did just that.
“Hey Sweetheart,” Niall grinned coming over during another break. “Heard you had Harry over. Hope he wasn’t too much trouble.”
She smiled. “No, he was good,” she assured him. “It was nice he followed me home. To make sure I was safe.”
“Yeah, he’s decent like that. His sister Gemma made him a real gentleman,” he agreed. “He didn’t like you wearing my jersey,” he told her.
“I’m well aware.”
“I won’t say no if you wear it again.”
She laughed. “Will do.”
“Want to make him madder taking a picture?”
“Maybe tomorrow, Kian made him pretty mad today with that one already.”
“Who?” Niall furrowed his eyebrows. She shook her head and silently laughed. “Is that what the silent treatment was for?” Niall asked with a laugh and skated off to rejoin his team.
*
At the end of practice, she took shots of them leaving the ice, the empty net. In her head she had a series of photos. The sequence of a hockey game and maybe she would put it into motion one day. She sat on the bench looking at her camera screen and sifted through some of the multiples she didn’t need.
“Hey Rookie,” Harry said softly.
She looked up and smiled. “Hi, Harry.”
Dangling from his fingers were a pair of figure skates. All white, pink guards, pink anterior cushioning, and pink laces.
“I got you these.”
She blinked. “Why?”
“To practice.”
“Harry, I cannot accept that. I know how much ice skates cost. Those have to be close to 400 dollars.”
He shrugged. “That’s what a good pair cost.”
“Harry, I can’t even stand on the ice. Return them. I’m not taking a 400-dollar pair to ruin because I can’t even stand still while wearing them... And they’re practically giving me blisters from just looking at them. I don’t have the right socks..." Harry looked disappointed and he frowned. "But... that... that was very sweet of you,” she added. Because she hadn’t said thank you yet, and it was sweet. It was extremely thoughtful of him. “Thank you,” she added gratefully. “That was so nice of you.”
“Do you like Callie?” He blurted.
“Do you think I’m in love with every man I meet?” She countered.
“You two looked cozy,” he mumbled.
“I was cold,” she admitted. “He offered his jersey, but I didn’t want a repeat of the other night,” she quipped. Harry smirked and looked away from her. “I’m not dating hockey players, remember?” She grabbed her camera and bag ready to leave the rink.
“Yeah...” he sighed, rubbed the back of his head. “I know, Rookie.”
*
There was a knock on her door later that evening. She assumed it was Michael asking if she had baked anything after feeling a bit on the munchier side of life. It probably wasn’t Marc because he had a date with the hockey lover. But maybe it was an early night for them, so who knew.
Instead, Harry was there. A pair of skates dangling from his fingers once more. The guards were still pink, there were scuffs on the toes and heels. The interior was cushioning was a light brown. “They’re a good brand. Used, so they didn’t cost a lot. But full disclosure, they were the most expensive used pair I could find because m’not gonna let y’skirt on the quality because of the cost. They won’t hurt your feet with blisters being brand new.”
Harry, with used ice skates, was the last person she expected to see. There was a tug in her chest where her heart would have melted for Kael to do something as kind as that. But she couldn’t fall in love with Harry. It was just a bad idea. He was a celebrity. There were millions of women he could choose from.
“Have you had it with dragging me around the ice or something?” She asked.
He chuckled and shook his head. “No, but... I want t’help you, Rookie. Y’should know how t’skate. Think of the pictures y’could take even if y’jus’ learn t’skate a little,” he shrugged.
That tug in her chest felt an awful lot like Harry worming his way into the center of her universe. But she didn’t want to do that again. Not really. She didn’t want to dote on Harry the way she did only for it to backfire on her. She still had a lot of time, but she felt behind. Kael made it so she didn’t have tons of money. She ‘didn’t have to worry about it’ because he made plenty. But it wasn’t about money. It was about her independence and now she felt like she literally paid the price. “I got y’some socks too,” Harry added.
Goddammit.
She was going to fall in love with him.

the all too well known pounding headache was the first thing y/n woke up to; oh, and also being completely naked in luke’s bed.
her eyes made their best attempt to adjust to the sunlight that poured into his bedroom. she turned over to her side, and there was luke sleeping peacefully, the blanket dangerously low on his waist, revealing hickies littered all over his v-line and stomach.
with a heavy breath, she checks down her own body; chest abused with hickies, trailing all the way down to her inner thighs. a quick look over to her backside reveals a red, unmistakable hand mark on her ass.
there was no denying that she had sex with luke last night.
y/n feels the bed shifting, a groan coming from the boy next to her.
“oh, you’re already up,”
his voice is horse, a combination of his drowsy state and losing it the night before. y/n turns around to face him, lifting up the comforter to cover her chest, any attempt to conceal her bare body to his now sober eyes.
“yeah, i just woke up literally a minute ago,” she says, a small smile to accompany. his eyes scan over her body, taking in all of it, eyes fluttering in an almost of a surprise of what he had done with it.
“do you… do you remember anything of what we did last night?”
y/n started to recount everything of the night before, how she felt with he was thrusting deep into her, his teeth sinking into her skin. how he looked with his head thrown back when she was on her knees in front of him. how he kissed up and down her back, not daring to let go.
“yeah… yeah i do.” she said, mouth twitching into a smile, anything to cure the tension. luke said nothing.
and there it was.
silence.
silence.
silen-
“i think you should go.” his words were a lot colder and harsher than he intended, but he sat up, refusing eye contact with her.
“you know to like… shower and eat and whatnot.”
nice save, she thought.
“no yeah, you’re right, i’m gonna change then be out of here,” she said, collecting her scattered clothing all over the floor. y/n changed into her short pink dress from the night before, ready for the walk-to-the-uber of shame that was ready to greet her.
while she changed, luke also got himself into a pair of boxers. y/n glanced over to him for a second, the image of him in his boxers, tired eyes and his body left with evidence of sex on it being burned into her brain.
“i’ll see you later yeah?” y/n said, opening the door and expecting luke’s usual response of “always,”
he purse his lips before responding, “bye.”
his words weren’t cold, or harsh, but disconnected.
disconnected from her.
y/n looked back at him, and he was already facing away. she wanted to say something, but didn’t let herself. instead she turned around and left.
——————————————————————————
it had been days since luke had spoken to y/n.
a million and one thoughts were racing in her head, each causing more anxiety than the last. they would come up at random times, like a jumpscare any time she let her thoughts travel to luke.
cooking dinner,
did he think it was bad?
studying,
did he regret what they did?
laying in bed, at approximately 3:46am,
did she ruin their friendship?
enough was enough. she needed answers, and she needed them now.
she knew he had practice this day, so in about 20 minutes, y/n found herself stomping into the yost ice arena, on the prowl to find luke. practice had just ended, and she shoved past the other guys and ignored the looks of confusion they gave her each other.
she ripped open the locker room door to a surpised luke, jersey off, but still in gear. his mouth opened, but y/n wasn’t going to let him get the opportunity to speak before her.
“where the hell do you get off on not speaking to me? huh? is it because we fucked? is that it?”
y/n pointed her finger at him accusingly, her face contorted into a look of disgust, but also sadness, and confusion. she was on the guard, but deep down scared shitless of what he was going to say.
luke sighed heavily, facing away from her and shuffling with the things in his section, “i have no idea what you’re talking about.”
y/n scoffed, “bullshit and you know it. what is it? tell me the truth luke warren. so what, we fucked okay? is that really the only reason you don’t speak to me of all people for days?”
he still had his back away from her, but his with his head dipped down, arms on his side. “it was a mistake. we shouldn’t have done it.”
she felt tears welling up in her eyes, cheeks flushed hot with anger and embarrassment.
“i’m so glad you think that luke,” she paused, making the best effort she could to control the shakyness in her voice, or how her throat burned in an attempt to get the words out. “if this is how you’re going to act after what happened, don’t speak to me now, or ever.”
it stung like hell to say, but she meant it. having enough with the situation, not being able to bear how much it hurt for him to be in her presence, she turned around and walked to the exit.
she didn’t look back. not like last time. but luke did. his body faced her as she slammed the door shut, only catching the last bit of her clothing and hair, her scent lingering where she was standing. his eyes were tinted red from tears, breath caught in his throat from regret with what he said, and even worse, what he didn’t say.
——————————————————————————
weeks had passed since they last spoke.
y/n was a mess. she refused to go out, turning her nose up at even the thought of drinking. her body ached when her mind wandered to luke; what he was doing, how he was doing, if he was thinking of her.
it hurt like hell.
and there she sat, curled up in the shower, recounting the memories her and luke shared. how they were always the first to wish happy birthday to each other. sharing their first middle school class together. sitting by the firepit, talking for hours at the lake house. crying in each others arms when they both got accepted to their shared dream school. graduation. a picture her parents took of them hugging outside their freshman year dorm building. how they held each other when no one else would understand, how they would still laugh their asses off even when no one would understand the joke but them.
oh, how he understood her. how fiercely they cared for one another, how he was always there, how she loved him, how it was always him. if it was one person she could choose, over and over again, it was luke.
but he was gone. just like that.
y/n had been in there for so long her fingers were wrinkled, and the water had turned a numbing coolness. she forced herself to get out, thanking to god that none of her roommates were home, knowing how pissed they’d be about her water usage.
she changed into sweatpants first, then begrudgingly putting on one of luke’s sweatshirts, a dark blue crewneck that read “michigan hockey” across it. y/n knew it would hurt to wear it, but she wanted any bit of luke left she could have.
about 10 minutes had passed, y/n was combing through her slightly damp hair, when she heard a knock at the door.
she went up to answer it, thinking one of her roommates was back and had just forgotten their key.
instead, y/n was met with a clearly unwell luke. his eyes were dark from lack of sleep, lips resting in a frown, all resting on a somber face to top it all off.
she felt like she was hallucinating. that she was in a dream, that her body was going to twitch and bring her back down to earth, back to reality. back to sitting down combing her hair, luke nowhere in sight.
they said nothing but everything at the same time. their expressions exactly matched, but still not quite knowing what the other was thinking.
“luke,” she breathed out, his name in the air barely above a whisper. y/n’s eyes fluttered, the emotions coming in like they never did before.
“can i come in, please?” his voice cracked, his expression pleading her to come in more than his words did.
she nodded, moving out of the way so he could step in. she sat over to walk on the couch, adding a pillow to her lap, hoping luke wasn’t able to see her body shaking and riddled with anxiety at his presence. but also comfort, and hope.
“why are you here luke?” y/n asked, demanding to know why he randomly showed up, after weeks of silence between them.
he ran his hands through his curls, biting his lip harshly before delivering his answer, “i need to be honest, i needed to tell the truth to you.”
“i thought you did that when we talked in the locker room,” she hissed, “all of that sounded pretty truthful to me.”
she didn’t want to rude, but how could he say that after practically punching her in the gut that day?
“no, you don’t understand,” he kneeled down to her level, unable to control the shaky hands that he brought up to hold his head in.
“then help me understand luke,” y/n voice was much softer this time, chest throbbing with pain seeing luke in more distress than she has ever seen him in.
“i was scared,” he said in a short breath, teardrops painting his cheeks, “i was scared after what we did because i thought it meant nothing to you, that we were just drunk. that you would tell me that you regret what we did, but i didn’t. not once.”
her gaze bounced between his hazel eyes, shocked at the news he was telling her. his face didn’t relax once, as he continued his truth, “i’m so in love with you y/n. i’m so scared you don’t feel the same way. i care about you, i need you, i feel so fucking…so fucking lost when you’re not there. nothing has felt the same.”
“i should’ve told you the truth, and i’m sorry.” his voice cracked again, and now luke was in full on sobs.
y/n could say nothing yet, still in shock, now again feeling like she was hallucinating. she opened her arms, and luke sat down on the couch with her and came crashing in.
he buried his face in the crook of her neck, arms tightly wrapped around her, terrified that if he let go she would be gone again. he cried into her, taking in her scent, her warm skin, her gentle touch, all of which he missed dearly.
“i love you, luke. i love you, i should’ve said it sooner,” y/n felt the pain that had accumulated for weeks begin to disappear in minutes with luke, the only ailment to her sickness. he sighed, pressing his forehead to hers with closed eyes.
“we both should’ve said it sooner, i’m so sorry y/n. i cant let you go. not now, not ever,” he held her tighter than ever, shifting his head to plant a soft kiss on her forhead.
she cupped his face in her hands, seeing him look at her with so much love made her stomach flutter.
“you have me luke, always.”
that’s when he kissed her. it was night and day between the first time their lips met. the first was new, lustful, wavering in its stability. this time, it was familiar, warm and feeling like they both could go on like this forever. their lips moved in perfect harmony, y/n crawling atop luke’s lap to bring herself as close to him as she possibly could.
they just barely pulled away, desperately needing to catch their breaths.
“now you’re never getting rid of me lu,” she giggled,
“wouldn’t even dream of it,” luke said, laying her down on the couch in her fit of giggles, peppering sweet kisses all over her face.

Party Planners | E.M.
You and Eddie discuss your ideas for bachelor and bachelorette parties, and your limits — eddie x fem!reader fluff with a hint of angst
warnings: a little angsty, worries about boundaries, mentions of sex work (not in detail at all)
words: 0.9k
“Okay, I’ll see you soon, Nance. I’m so excited! Bye!” Were your last words before hanging up the phone and walking out of the room with a giant smile across your face.
You walked downstairs and found your fiancé on the couch watching cartoons and eating a bowl of cereal. He turned around after hearing the sound of your footsteps and immediately noticed your grin.
“What’s got you all smiley?” He asked, already knowing most of it since the walls of the trailer were extremely thin, but wanting to hear you talk about it anyways.
“I was on the phone with Nancy.” You sat down with Eddie, still smiling. “We were planning for the bachelorette party.”
He scooped up a spoonful of cereal and nodded. “Ah, so that’s what all the giggling was about.”
“It’s exciting stuff, Eds. You know too ‘cause you have your party coming up too.”
“I do, but it doesn’t sound as cutesy and fun as your party. What do you ladies have planned, exactly?”
You were reluctant to tell Eddie all of your plans. You weren’t hiding anything. In fact, it was a relatively calm plan as far as bachelorette parties go. Honestly, you just weren’t all too familiar with the concept of bachelorette parties and you weren’t sure how customary it was for the couple to tell each other in advance.
Maybe it was like the way the groom isn’t allowed to see the bride’s dress before the wedding. But ultimately you decided that you would risk any potential bad luck for Eddie.
You cuddled up against him, and Eddie put his bowl on the coffee table so he would wrap his arms around you.
“We’re gonna go to Nancy’s place, she’s gonna make lunch and we’re gonna pregame a little while watching some John Hughes movies. Then we’re gonna go bar hopping until we get tired or one of us throws up.”
“Sounds fun.” Eddie shrugged. “Not as fun as my party with the guys, though.”
He was clearly leading you to ask more questions, so you followed along and did what he wanted.
“And what are you boys planning?”
“I can’t tell you that! It’s bad luck.”
You rolled your eyes, yet he couldn’t even see them since your head was resting on his chest. “I told you! We already have bad luck if that’s true.”
“Well, I still can’t tell you. But it’ll be wild. You’ll hear about it when I come back home hungover and still on a high the next day.”
Eddie didn’t answer any further, just turned his gaze back to the screen across the room, watching the children’s cartoons he was playing because it was the best thing on when he sat down.
You told Eddie your plans, so why wasn’t he telling you his? Neither of you were leaving the city for the parties because of your budget, so you wondered what he could have planned.
Your mind started going to dark places, imagining your fiancé going absolutely crazy during his bachelor party, and you didn’t like the mental image you had just conjured.
“Eddie?” You asked, barely above a whisper.
He hummed in response and loosened his arms so you could turn yourself around in his lap and look at him in his mesmerising brown eyes.
“I know we said we wouldn’t really have input on each other’s parties but can I make one request about yours?”
Eddie looked confused, but willing to listen and oblige nevertheless. “Yeah, what is it, baby?”
“No hookers.”
“What?”
Eddie looked stunned, not expecting your answer. That detail only worried you more. Before you even started to elaborate, tears rimmed your eyes even though you were trying to be stern yet kind.
“I know they’re kind of a bachelor party staple, but I’ve never liked the idea, and I don’t really want you doing anything with other women. Strippers, I think—”
Eddie cut you off as he could see you becoming closer and closer to crying with each word.
“Sweetheart, I promise that wasn’t at all a part of the plan. I would never want that either.”
“Really?” You pouted.
“Really. We were just going to get super wasted at The Hideout and then roleplay Lord of the Rings.”
A breath of relief escaped your lungs. It’s not that you didn’t trust Eddie, you were just worried that there was a difference in your visions for how you would commemorate the last bit of time before getting married.
Eddie gently combed his fingers through your hair, pressing a few kisses on your forehead.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you. I was just teasing.” Eddie apologised softly. “Honestly, the thought hadn’t even crossed my mind. You’re the only woman I have eyes for.”
While Eddie was apologising, you took the time to gaze into his adorable button eyes—the eyes you hoped your children would have some day. For each second you watched him talk, you grew more appreciative of how sensitive and genuine he was being.
“You’re so sweet.” You told him honestly.
“You’re sweeter.” He replied just as sincerely. “I can’t wait to marry you.”

A Touch of Sweetness 3
Warnings: non/dubcon, mentions of crime, and other dark elements. My username actually says you never asked for any of this.
My warnings are not exhaustive but be aware this is a dark fic and may include potentially triggering topics. Please use your common sense when consuming content. I am not responsible for your decisions.
Character: mob!Loki Laufeyson
Sister series to mob!Thor
Summary: you make a new friend, but that’s not all. (short reader)
As usual, I would appreciate any and all feedback. I’m happy to once more go on this adventure with all of you! Thank you in advance for your comments and for reblogging ❤️
“That was awesome. We have so many berries,” you dust the dirt off your capris as you stand. “What are you going to make with yours?”
Loki squints up at the sky and doesn’t answer. You frown. He’s not paying attention.
“Brother,” Thor calls him back to earth, “the little one asked a question.”
“You may keep them all,” he says as he puts his chin down. “I have no need of berries.”
“But... you helped pick them all. You should get some. Oo, have you ever tried berries and a cream? Or you could make a smoothie--”
“I said keep them,” he slithers and pushes his jacket back to slide his hands into his pockets. “Are we done then?”
“You’ve nowhere important to be,” Thor insists. “I would know.”
You sway awkwardly. You don’t want to be a nuisance. Not like you always are.
“You know, I had lots of fun. With all of you, but I think I should just go home now,” you suggest. “Thanks for coming.” You smile at Queenie, “it was nice to meet you.” You turn and look at Loki, “and you.”
He peers down his nose at you as his lips thin. “It wasn’t entirely unpleasant.”
You look back at the others, “what about the berries?” Queenie asks, “you could come over and show me how to make something.” She pauses and looks at Thor. He grins.
“Of course she can,” he assures. “You could come now, even.”
“I appreciate that but I gotta get going.”
“We will message and arrange the details then,” Thor declares. “Drive safe.”
“Yeah, I’ll see you tomorrow,” Queenie murmurs grimly.
“I can’t wait,” you say. “Thank you for all your help, Loki.”
His cheek ticks and he pushes his shoulders up, “it was nothing. Only got my suit dirty.”
You giggle. He’s funny. Well, now he knows not to wear something so nice to a berry farm.
“Alrighty, I’ll be going then. I wanna get some pictures of the bunnies before I go,” you chime. “Buh bye!”
You turn and skip off. You’re wired with excitement. It might not have been a shining success but you made one friends at least. Queenie is nice and it seems like she needs a friend too.
You stop by the bunny stall and snap some photos before you head off. You’ve spent enough money and time there. Besides, you don’t like driving in the dark and it’s a lot later than you thought.
When you get home, your sister is there with Estelle. You head to kitchen to put your berries in the fridge. As you make space, Jada enters with her minion at her side.
“Did you have fun playing in the dirt like a child?” She taunts.
“Sure did,” you say as you slide the basket onto the shelf.
“Sure looks like you did,” Estelle scoffs.
You look down at your outfit. You have berry just on one knee and some soil on the other. Oh well, they aren’t your favourite pants.
“You could’ve come. It was really cool. They had bunnies and a horse cart.” You say.
“Did he stand you up?” Jada asks, ignoring your suggestion.
“Stand me up? Who?”
“Oh, don’t play dumb. Thor. You said that’s what he asked you outside the cafe. So what happened? Did he realise you’re a loser?”
“I told you, he said he wanted me to meet his girlfriend. She’s nice,” you shrug.
“Nice? She’s probably too good for you. I mean, she’s dating him.” She snickers. “Do you even know who Thor Odinson is? What he does?”
“I would know. You gush about him all the time,” you stick your tongue out.
“That’s not true,” she snaps.
Estelle laughs, “you kinda of do... along with the rest of them.”
“He’s a criminal,” Jada says.
You just stare at her. “So why’d you let me go? I'm your sister?”
“Oh, don’t do that,” she puffs. “You always are so pathetic. And stupid. You’re an adult, you can take care of yourself.”
“Come on, Jada, don’t be bitter. You’re the one who’s obsessed with the outfit.” Estelle nudges her.
“You’re taking her side?” Jada turns on her.
“No, hell no. But you’re being dramatic. I bet he thought it was funny. She’s so dumb, it’s like having a clown at the party. Something to laugh at,” Estelle jeers.
“Exactly,” Jada agrees and laugh tritely, “she is a clown.”
You frown but don’t argue. She’ll just keep calling you names. You wait for her to go before you retreat to your room. The triumph of your day is quickly blotted out by the spiteful chittering you can hear in the front room.
You wash up and get changed for bed. Maybe Queenie won’t message. Maybe it was all just a game to Thor. After all, what are you compared to him and his pretty, sophisticated girlfriend? And his brother seemed entirely unimpressed by it all.
You fall asleep in a roil of doubt. You awake, little by little, and linger in bed as you search for the will to get up. You yawn and rub your eyes. You stand up and step into your slippers that look like cows.
You go out to the kitchen and groggily flip on the electric kettle. As you wait for the water to boil, you go to the fridge and open it mindlessly. It’s more of a habit than an actual mission for anything. You skim the shelves and notice the empty space where your basket of berries should be.
You let the door shut and look around the kitchen. The basket is empty on the counter. It must have been Jada. It’s like when you got that bottle of Coach perfume with your first pay check and she smash it against the school wall.
What a waste.
You hang your head and go back to your room. You’re hurt but not surprised. She’s been doing stuff like this for so long, you’re almost numb to it.
You close your door slowly as you spot the dark stains across the front of your dresser. You flip the lights on and see the berry-coloured fingerprints all around the drawers. You cross the room and open the top drawer. You check every one and find the same thing in all. You must have slept through it all.
All your clothes are smeared in berries. They’re starting to stink too. You take out a couple shirts and sigh. You could cry but that would only make Jada laugh louder.
You shut the drawers and grab your phone from the charger. You go back to the kitchen as you weigh the day laundry to be done. A message pops up as you pour boiling water over a tea bag. You read the screen and swipe up the phone from the counter.
‘I’ll send a car at noon. Queenie is looking forward to it.’
You read a re-read the invitation. It doesn’t leave you any room for rejection. Recalling Jada’s words, you don’t think it is an option. Thor might be nice but he is who he is. You might be just as stupid as they say getting yourself tangled up in all this mess. Yet, your only family are much more sinister than these people your sister claims to be criminals. You’ll take your chances with them.

Could you write something fun about Reid dating a Master/PhD student and everyone is like “how could you???” making jokes about how he is the weird teacher that goes out with his students.
She is not his student, she doesn’t even go to the same college he teaches.
Summary: Spencer's new girlfriend happens to be a student, raising questions and laughs from the team members.
Genre: Fluff
Pairing: Spencer Reid x fem!reader
Warnings: None but lmk!
Word count: 645
a/n: I hope this is okay!🫶 also, if you're wondering why I only include three members.. I'd be lying if I said I was only on season 10 of criminal minds and I don't know any of the characteristics of anyone else.....
"I'm not sure, this guy's got a real temper." JJ commented as she read through the case file, her eyes darting from words to the pictures.
Spencer looked up for a split second to look at JJ, but when he did he got a glimpse of a familiar face through the blinds. You were looking around, confusion written on your face as you looked for, what he safely assumed, was himself. His eyebrows furrowed and suddenly everyone's words were going in one ear, and out the other.
"Uh, give me five minutes." He announced to the table, everyone staring at him in confusion as he got up and walked out the door.
"What are you doing here?" He asked as he approached you. You had your hands in front of you that held onto a brown paper bag, a smile on your face.
"You forgot your lunch!" You quickly frowned, holding the bag up in front of you.
"You're supposed to be studying." He stated, bringing a hand up to rub your forearm.
You groaned in response, "I need a break, Spence! I've been studying all day." You whined, throwing your head back.
He moved his hand to the back of your head to bring your face back to his.
"Exams are coming up, y/n." He sighed, "I'm sure you'll do great, but you really need to study." He added, grabbing onto the bag with his other hand.
You rolled your eyes, moving your head to the side only to catch eye contact with every member staring at the both of you. You laughed, amused, but not surprised everyone was being nosey.
He followed your eyes to everyone staring, as he looked back he brought his hand down from your head with a tight lipped smile.
"Fine, I'll go study." You sighed in defeat, placing a hand on his shoulder. He subconsciously aimed his head down, giving you access to his forehead to place a soft kiss.
"Bye, Spence." You smiled, turning around and making your way out the bullpen.
"Study." He called out, causing you to laugh as you walked out the glass doors.
He placed the paper bag on his desk on his way to the round table. The moment he stepped foot inside, everyone watched his with wide eyes.
He hadn't taken in account that when he left, he left the door open as well. Meaning they could've easily heard the conversation without needing to get up and move closer.
"Study? Is she some sort of student? She looked pretty young." JJ asked, being the first to raise suspicion.
When she spoke, everyone else looked at her and nodded in agreement.
"Uhm, sorta. I mean yeah, she's a student.." He answered, sort of mumbled as he took his seat.
"Wow, Spence. I didn't take you for the student, teacher type of guy." Emily teased, amused laced in her tone.
"What are you--?" Spencer attempted to ask, considering you weren't his student, he didn't think it mattered. But his words were cut short from Rossi butting in.
"How could you, Spencer Reid, be comfortable with that?" Rossi asked, genuinely curious, Spencer could tell by the way he narrowed his eyes and leaned closer.
"It's not that weird?" His brows furrowed, and it wasn't. It wasn't weird at all, you met how anyone would meet Spencer. He didn't see how you, being a student was relevant.
"So, you're just the teacher that goes out with his students now?" JJ went on, raising a brow at Spencer, and a look on her face that said, 'Did you think about that?' without words.
"She's not even--" But before Spencer could defend himself, Emily finally decided that they were getting too off track and needed to focus. Which annoyed Spencer, he's being accused of something that wasn't true and now, had no time to defend himself.

reposting all my anon fics in one place. enjoy 🤗
giving caitlin a massage on vacation part 3
“we should get in our pajamas and watch the olympics” caitlin suggested your night plans
“yes! and we should call kate. she told me to let her know how the vacation was going” you and caitlin entered the hotel room. she sat down on the bed and patted the spot next to her for you to sit down. she pulled out her phone and facetimed kate. you sat down and took in how good she looked in her dinner outfit. caitlin loved a tube top and you loved her in them. any top that showed off her strong arms was a top you loved on her. her shorts were tighter and shorter than her uniform shorts and you decided you were going to request the wnba make shorts like that as the new uniform. as usual, her muscular thighs looked incredible and delicious and her ass looked amazing
“hi guys, how was the first day of vacation?” kate’s voice rang through caitlin’s phone
“heyyyy” you and caitlin responded together. you both giggled at your simultaneous response
“oh you guys are totally drunk” kate wasn’t judging, just surprised
“no” caitlin denied “we split a pitcher of sangria at dinner and it ended up being like two glasses each. so not drunk but maybe a little tipsy”
“yeah, ok drunk girls” kate did not believe caitlin “how was your day? what did you do?” caitlin pulled you closer to her
“my girl took such good care of me” her girl. she called you her girl. you felt your face heat up and if it showed, you were going to blame the sangria
“your girl?” kate questioned. caitlin surprised you by kissing your cheek right next to your lips. your face felt impossibly hot
“yes. my girl. she brought a bag to the pool with snacks and water so i wouldn’t have to get up all day. i fell asleep and she covered me with a towel so i wouldn’t get cold from the breeze. she made dinner reservations. i didn’t have to worry about anything all day”
“you need to relax after the tough first half of the season. i didn’t want you to have to worry about anything” you reasoned “and you would do the same for me”
“well of course i would. you’re my girl” caitlin looked into your eyes with her big beautiful eyes. you smiled and giggled and blushed like a child with a crush. her girl. maybe the sex this morning wasn’t just a one time thing. your trance was interrupted by kate clearing her throat
“ok drunk girls, show me your room” caitlin showed kate the room through the phone “why do you only have one bed?”
“this hotel is expensive and i refuse to let caitlin pay for everything like she wanted to” you defended your choice
“i have the nike contract, i could have done it. but she insisted and it’s not a big deal. it’s just like when we stayed at hotels for away games”
“you guys only got one bed during away games? i always got two” it was clear kate was thinking about something but not saying it
“we got two but we pushed them together for more room”
“ok got it” kate said in almost a questioning tone “do you have plans tonight? maybe go out and meet cute people?”
“we’re going to stay in and watch the olympics. just a casual night in together like we used to. after the season i just want to be low key. and nobody at this hotel is cuter than my girl” you covered your face in embarrassment as caitlin complimented you
“there were some cute guys at the pool and there was one girl that was really cute but i would rather stay in with caitlin” you noticed the guys and that girl earlier today but none of them were as hot as caitlin. they didn’t even come close
“ok well i’m going to leave you to watch the olympics. have fun together” kate almost sang her last sentence. she had a knowing look on her face as you said bye to her, almost like she knew you had sex this morning. caitlin threw her phone towards the head of the bed and faced you. you grew concerned as her face got serious
“you know” she said softly “i didn’t know you liked girls for like three years” good. that means she didn’t know about your massive crush on her since day 1
“really? i never hid it. i didn’t bring it up because it shouldn’t affect my relationships with my friends and it doesn’t change who i am as a person but it was never a secret” you weren’t lying. your crush on caitlin was a secret but your sexuality never was
“i always admired how easy it was for you to talk about this stuff when it does come up. i feel like none of the normal labels fit me” caitlin admitted. your face fell at her insecurity. you scooted closer to her and put your hand on her cheek
“you told me the label that fits you is sexually open. if that’s the label that you feel describes your feelings then that’s the perfect and normal label for you. if that’s not the label that you feel fits you anymore then we can work on a different label for you. or you can be unlabeled. your sexuality is between you and your partner. the world is not entitled to know your label” you couldn’t help but smile as your words immediately seemed to cheer caitlin up
“i think sexually open fits how i feel. girls, guys, just whoever i vibe with. it just feels weird that it’s not one of the usual labels” you shook your head at her words
“there’s no usual labels, just common labels. i barely even fit in my own label. labels don’t matter” she laughed
“i was so shocked when i saw you kissing that girl” caitlin referenced the moment when she found out you were bi “i have never met a bi girl that has such a strong preference for men”
“it’s really a curse honestly” you started laughing “i barely fit my label and it’s because i like men too much. ew” you and caitlin started a new wave of laughter, the sangria reminding you both of its presence seemingly at the same time. caitlin kissed your hand that was still on her face
“thank you for this. you’re always here for me and i really appreciate you” she smiled wide and her cute dimples showed. you smiled just as wide back. you were such a sucker for those cute dimples
“of course caity, anything you need always”
“soooooo” she stretched out her word “can we change into pajamas watch the olympics now?”
“as long as you feel ok. i don’t want to stop talking about this until you feel good about it”
“i just needed some reassurance that i was normal”
“there is nothing wrong with you. you’re normal and perfect” she kissed your hand again
“let’s get changed” you nodded and you both went towards your luggage to find your pajamas. you searched through your luggage to find your pajamas
“caitlin?”
“did you forget your pajamas and want to borrow one of my shirts for the week?”
“yes” you said shyly. she rolled her eyes like she wasn’t used to doing this for you. normally she would throw you the shirt but this time she walked it to you. she placed it down on the bed
“do you need help taking off your dress?”
“no” it was a sundress “but you can help me anyway” caitlin put her hands on your hips. she rubbed her thumbs on your hipbones and you thought she might pull you in for a kiss. instead, she grabbed the dress and pulled it over your head, tossing it to the side once it was off. she scanned your body as you stood there in your bra and underwear. just her gaze was turning you on
“i always thought you had such pretty underwear” she snapped the waistband of your underwear
“always? why were you looking at my underwear?” you teased. not that you were complaining
“i wasn’t staring! between the locker rooms and the shared hotel rooms i saw your underwear a few times and noticed that it was pretty. but i wasn’t staring” her face was flushed cutely as she explained herself. maybe it was her admission, maybe it was the vulnerable conversation you just had, or maybe it was just the sangria, but you felt bold. you unhooked your bra and pulled it off your arms. caitlin’s eyes fell to your chest and she bit her lip a little. your nipples were hard from all the flirting. you wanted to tell her she could put them in her mouth if she wanted but you held back, unclear with how far she wanted to take things tonight if anywhere at all
“maybe you should have been staring” you settled on something flirty and forward but not as forward as you would’ve said to anybody who wasn’t your best friend. she stuttered a bit
“ah um. turn on the olympics while i get in my pajamas” she grabbed her pajamas out of her suitcase and started changing quickly. you put on the shirt she left on the bed and turned on the olympics. maybe she was nervous? you’re not sure why she would be nervous considering she ate you out amazingly then made you cum on her thigh in what might have been record time. oh fuck did she not like how you ate her out? maybe she didn’t like getting fingered. she seemed satisfied and she told you she was but maybe she was shielding your feelings. you started to panic a little. this is why you didn’t fuck your friends-there’s too much at stake
“come here” caitlin snapped you out of your thoughts from the bed “let’s watch tv like we used to in college” she opened her legs out wide like she did this morning before you rode her thigh. except this time you were supposed to sit between her legs and lean back on her chest. that was how all friends watched tv, right? you sat between her legs facing the tv in the position you’ve been in so many times before. you didn’t lean back, wanting to put physical distance between you and caitlin in case she didn’t want you. you weren’t sure if you were going to be able to control yourself if you leaned back on her chest
“why are you sitting like that? come here” she moved her left arm over your chest taking extra time when her fingers reached your nipples. you held back a moan, trying to control how badly you wanted her, how badly you’ve always wanted her. finally her hand grabbed your right shoulder. she pulled you back and pressed your body into her. you felt her tits pressed against your back and fuck were her nipples also hard? she kissed you on your head
“i missed this. i miss being low key and just chilling. no media, no press, just us” your heart broke a little at her confession. she’s exhausted from all the weird and unusual stress of her job. she doesn’t feel like her sexuality is valid. you breathed in deeply. as much as you wanted to, it wouldn’t be right to fuck her tonight unless she initiated. she wanted normalcy and you were going to give it to her

"How could I? I didn't have my phone?" the girl asked slightly panicked,.
"That's because you had mine," Lando spoke up, tapping on his phone, "You logged into your account from mine," he said showing it to the girl.
"WHY DIDN'T YOU STOP ME?" She yelled.
"BECAUSE YOU GUYS KEPT RUNNING ONTO THE FUCKING ROAD AND LOGAN AND ARTHUR COSPLAYED SPIDER-MAN" He yelled back.
"Okay, okay," Max put his hands up to calm the two down, sometimes they were so similar he'd want to ask if Lando had a twin separated at birth, "Lando, what did she post?"
"oh oooh, this going to be fun," the boy said, switching to the girl's profile.

"Well, that wasn't as bad," y/n shrugged.
"That's cause you didn't have your camera roll," Logan snapped back, finally feeling a little more human, the hangover easing down.
"Look who's talking," the Aussie came to y/n's defence, "You're lucky you didn't have YOUR phone," Oscar called out, making the American's face turn red.
"Damnnn Oscar!" The girl praised, colour returning to his face, all were slowly returning to normal, even Arthur had found his way back to the table. Seeing this, the two older men Max and Charles ordered for the table, while Lando, went through more of Y/n's Instagram with the group.
"Honestly, the response isn't that bad, and our PR officers won't murder us, sooo we're good," he said, smiling and logging out of her Instagram account.
"Oh my god," The Monganeseque boy spoke up after being missing for almost half an hour, " I don't think we ate last night," he said shoving the food in his mouth.
The older men expected one of the other three to corroborate the boy's words but they just witnessed four twenty-somethings guzzling down food and large glasses of OJ, lifting plates to slide food into their mouths, letting runny egg yolks and bacon grease getting over their face and hands.
"Fucking hell," Max snarled, "it's like watching animal planet or something,"
"It's disgusting is what it is," Charles agreed, "MERDE ARTHUR, MAMAN RAISED YOU BETTER THAN THIS!" He yelled at his brother who was currently dipping a rolled up pancake in orange juice.
"Oh mate that's fucking disgusting," Y/n scoffed but then followed suit.
"Both of you are insane," Logan cried out, his accent thick, but failed to notice his own disgusting plate, dipping his bacon in maple syrup.
"ugh, there is something mentally deficient with all of you," Oscar frowned.
"Big words for someone mixing coffee into their oj," Lando cringed, taking a photo of the four and their disgusting eating habits.
"I- I can't look at this, I'm leaving," Charles gave up, holding up his hands in surrender, "I have a meeting at Ferrari anyways,"
"Bye, Charles!" the table chorused.
"Oh shit, it's 11am already?" Max called, looking at his watch, "I've got debrief at noon, see you next race, yeah Y/n?" He patted the girl's shoulder as he left.
"Never, again, ever." She yelled out, behind the man, making him laugh.
"Wait really?" The American looked over, bacon in hand.
"Nah, but like I've got uni and stuff and I've been going Arthurs races as well so, I'll probably be back by Britain or Netherlands," she explained.
"Oh yeah I forgot you still go to uni," Lando said.
"Not all of are millionaires cause of our fast vroom vroom cars," she spit back.
"yeah, yeah, " he waved off, "Oscar, Zak's told me to babysit you till our flight tomorrow so you don't do something or someone," he wriggled his brows, smirking at his teammate, making him roll his eyes, "you regret, so let's go and leave that disgusting abomination here," he said pointing to the coffee-orange juice.
"Guy's I don't know about y'all but I'm going go and pass out in the room till next year," The girl said, pushing away from the table.
"Same," The two boys followed.
oooooh this was ✨✨✨ but next we have the summer break chapter 🤭

A Missing Lunch and Soft Kisses ⊹₊ ˚‧︵‿₊୨୧₊‿︵‧ ˚ ₊⊹
Summary: Your boyfriend forgets his lunch at home so you decide to bring it to him.
Genre: Fluff only!
CW: A bit of social anxiety on reader's part, first person point of view, use of y/n, a little ooc Aaron Hotchner, a few little kisses <3
Word Count: 556 (very short, sorry!)
A/N: I wrote this really quickly just to have the motivation to post more stories here, so pardon any mistakes or poor word choice! Let me know if I missed anything that should be a CW, and if you'd read more fanfics written by me!! (I promise I usually write longer stories than this.)
I walk out of the elevator, looking through the glass doors that await me. There’s a brown paper bag in my hand and my bag is slung over my shoulder. I’ve never met any of Aaron’s coworkers, I’m nervous as to how the first impression will go. I originally wasn’t supposed to be here, this was never planned. Aaron and I haven’t even started planning an occasion for us to meet. If only he had remembered to bring his own lunch, I wouldn’t be here.
I push open one of the glass doors and walk through. No one looks my way which is already a weight off my shoulders. I completely expected everyone to immediately stare at me, like they did in highschool when someone was late to class. I shiver at that memory.
I start to walk past some desks and avoid any gazes sent in my direction. I obviously don’t recognize anyone. The nightmare is almost over as I reach the steps leading to Aaron’s office. I knock and wait for a response.
“Come in!” He orders. I push open the door and watch as his face lights up at the sight of me. I push the door closed behind me. “Y/n! How are you doing, sweetheart?” He walks over to me and kisses my forehead, resting his hand on my hips.
“You forgot your lunch.” I smile as I lift up the bag in my hand.
“Thank you for bringing it all the way here.” He grabs it from me. “You know you didn’t have to do that.”
“I couldn’t just let my man starve, now could I?” I blush at my own words.
“Mm, how thoughtful of you.” He hums before kissing me again, longer this time. A knock interrupts us, pulling us apart.
“Yes?” Aaron calls out and the door opens. His hand is still on my waist.
“Hotch, I found-” A bubbly blonde woman stops mid-sentence. “I’m so sorry! I didn’t know you had company!”
“Don’t worry about it, I just came to drop off his lunch.” I respond.
“Ah, well, it’s wonderful to meet you! I’m Penelope.”
“I’m Y/n, it’s nice to meet you too!”
“How have I never met you before?” She asks.
“You know Aaron, he never tells anyone about his personal life. He’s been keeping me a secret for a couple years now.” I whisper. Aaron groans at me.
“Honey, I was not ‘keeping you a secret.’ No one asked me anything about my love life so I never mentioned anything.”
“Whatever you say.” I shrug. He rolls his eyes at me and smiles.
“Do you ever believe anything I tell you?”
“Depends on what it is.” I smirk up at him. I look back at Penelope and her eyes are wide. Her mouth hangs open as she stares between us both.
“Are you two…?” She finally asks.
“Yes, Garcia. We’ve been together for two years now.” Aaron chuckles. Penelope’s face stays the same.
“Excuse me, I have to go talk to…Someone. Bye!” She practically runs out the door. I look at Aaron with a puzzled look.
“She’s about to tell everyone in the bullpen about this whole thing.” He smiles.
“She doesn’t seem like a very good secret keeper.”
“Trust me, she is not.” He laughs, placing another gentle kiss against my lips.

Aren’t you embarrassed? Part 2: P.S
NonIdol!Toxic!Fratboy!SeonghwaxAfab!Reader
HAH I wrote this faster than I was expecting! But thank you @luffypants, @cloudysannie, and @krystalcat for requesting a part 2. I feel like we got some justice!
Taglist: @n1nme4r @e3ellie If you would like to be a part of the taglist please fill out this form
Cw: Explicit language, mean Hwa again... some talks of sexual content (it's like one sentence), Jongho is thrown in here too!
Previous Part
Masterlist | Ateez Masterlist | Series Masterlist
"The number you have dialed is unavailable please try again later" "What the fuck?" Seonghwa tried to call you the next day only to be met with the automated message "What's wrong Hwa? Your booty call didn't answer for once?" Wooyoung cackled at Seonghwa's confused expression. He tried again "The number you have dialed is unavailable please try again later" "No what the actual fuck. What is she doing?" He was frustrated, mentally and sexually. How come you weren't answering? "Is it going straight to voicemail? She might've turned her phone off, ya know with exams and stuff coming up, She might be in the library" Yunho said "No no she ALWAYS answers" Seonghwa tried to call you again. Same message. "Text her. duh" and so he did but what he got in response filled him with anger "She blocked me. She actually blocked" Seonghwa couldn't believe what he was looking at but the green bubble was starting right back at him "HAH" "No way" Wooyoung and Yunho both responded at the same time. This isn't how it goes. Seonghwa is ALWAYS the one who does the blocking, not the other way around. Wooyoung's laughing ceased when Seonghwa stormed out, slamming the door behind him. He needed to find you.
"Thanks for helping me study today (y/n) I really appreciate it" Yuna smiled brightly at you. You both had economics together and she was nervous for the exam and you needed a distraction from... him. "It's no problem, the exam is next week so let me know if you want to study again" You smiled back at her "Of course. I'll see you tomorrow" You waved at her as she walked away. Your smile dropped when you saw the last person you wanted to talk to. Turning quickly, you made a hasty retreat across campus so you could hide in your dorm. But fate had other plans for you. "Ah not so fast" Your breath hitched when you felt a strong grip on your wrist "Oh! Hey Seonghwa. Sorry I really can't talk right now I have to get to class." you say nervously trying to free yourself "Don't care." He spits out before dragging you to an empty table in the courtyard "You blocked me" it comes out as a statement more than a question.
You look down at your lap getting anxious under his intense gaze. You give him a weak nod, biting your lip "Mhm. Why?" you opened your mouth to respond but nothing came out so you opted to shrug instead. He didn't like that. "Come on. Use your words. You're a big girl yeah?" Seonghwa was not the patient type, never has been, and never will be so when you continued to look down at your lap he snapped a little "For someone so smart you look dumb as fuck right now. I asked you a question and you can't even answer me" his voice was getting louder and louder with each word causing the few others that were in the vicinity to turn to the two of you. You slapped your hands on the table in front of you finally having enough of this, of him "I hate the way you treat me and I'm not doing this anymore. You're a piece of shit Park Seonghwa and I quite frankly don't understand how you have any friends, so yeah I blocked you. I don't need you, I deserve better." Your words came out a little louder than you wanted but you needed him to hear you "Treat you like what? A fuck buddy? That's all you are. You have nothing to offer other than that. You have nothing to offer anyone except your body. You've got it all wrong baby. I'm the best you're gonna get" Tears welled up in your eyes and you grabbed your stuff before standing "Bye Seonghwa" "YOU'LL COME BACK TO ME JUST WATCH, they always do" He yelled at your figure as you disappeared from view
Seonghwa, Hongjoong, and Yeosang sat on the couch watching some show Hwa didn't care about when there was a sudden knock at the door. He looked at the other two who looked glued to their spots "Oh don't worry I'll get it" he rolled his eyes and stood up, the pair opting to smile in response. He swings open the door about to tell off whoever it was "We don't want whatever the fuck you're sell- oh" He let out a quick laugh and a smirk exploded on his face when he saw you in one of your cute little skirts "I see you decided to come back to me huh? I'm too good for you to forget. It's okay, I can forget all about our little argument the other day" he felt his pride swelling as he held his arm out for you. Letting out a scoff, you cross your arms at the arrogant boy in front of you "Oh please, I'm not here for you" you roll your eyes at him. "Move Hwa she's here for me" Jongho. Seonghwa felt like his head was going to explode. Hongjoong and Yeosang sat frozen, expressions matching each other, shock. All three of them didn't know what to think. Seonghwa had you wrapped around his finger for over a month and now you were here with their youngest member.
When it was all over you came bounding down the stairs with Jongho's arm wrapped around you as he walked you to the door. You stopped and turned to Seonghwa who sat stewing on the couch. With a pout adorning your lips you spoke to him for the last time "I guess you're not as good as you think" you spat out before turning to give Jongho a quick kiss and going on your merry way. Seonghwa let out a scoff and he couldn't stop himself "She was faking it. Just so you know" He was spiteful and a part of him felt bad considering it was Jongho of all people. "Oh yeah? Seemed pretty real to me. especially when I did this thing with my fingers, had her gushing all over them" he had seen through Seonghwa's jealous words "I don't know man, I think I would know her best" and he did but because he knew you so well he knew that you were in fact NOT faking it.

Imagine being kidnapped and Sam coming to save you
It was always humans that threw you off. Monsters were consistent, they had signs, and you knew how they operated. Humans, on the other hand, were a wild card. They could change their motives, tactics, and scenery at any point.
You were in town buying things for dinner. You told Sam and Dean that you would make a homemade meal tonight, but you needed to go get the ingredients. You kissed your boyfriend Sam, waved bye to Dean, and told them you wouldn’t be gone for more than an hour and a half.
You were looking at the produce at this little market when you started to feel like you were being watched. You looked around but did not see anything out of the ordinary. You kept searching for the perfect tomatoes when you felt the eyes again. Something was wrong. You looked up, but everything looked the same. Until you noticed something weird. There were three ways to leave the market: by the checkout, the back door, and a side door. At each exit was a man of different build, around the same age, but all wearing the same baseball hat. Heads down, ‘looking’ at whatever was in front of them. You then realized that it was just you and those three men in the store; the cashier was nowhere in sight. You dropped the tomato you were holding and pretended to look at the other produce. You grab the pocketknife you keep in your back pocket and slide it up your sleeve, opening it and holding it against your hand. You discreetly assess which man would be easiest to get away from if you needed to. For all you know, you’re being paranoid. You then change your plan, take out your phone, and start texting Sam, saying he needs to come to the market.
“Now, why are you starting to text someone, love?” a mysterious voice says behind you. You quickly turn around, trying to hit send on the text, but accidentally calling Sam. The man knocks you out with a punch to the face and starts yelling at the other men to get you loaded up and back to the house. The whole time, Sam can hear and yell your name.
Sam’s P.O.V
I was looking up possible cases to go on when Y/N called me. I smiled and immediately picked it up.
“Hey baby, you,” I was cut short by hearing the phone clatter on the other end and a man yelling at others, telling them to put Y/N in a truck and head back to the house. I stood up.
“Y/N? Y/N!” I yell but do not get a response. Then, the phone call drops.
“Dean!” I yell, already grabbing my things. Dean comes running into the library.
“What’s wrong?”
“I think Y/N is in trouble, let go!” I say quickly, Dean following right behind me. We hurry into the Impala, and Dean slams on the gas.
“Where am I going?”
“The market, the one that Y/N always makes up stop at.” Dean presses on the gas harder as I start to bounce my leg. I pray to God, an angel, and anyone that she is okay. Dean gets up there in record time, and we see her truck as we pull up. I quickly leave the car and run into the store, calling for her. Nothing. I noticed that no one was there either. Shouldn’t there be a clerk? Dean comes up behind me.
“I get left. You get it, right?” He asks. I nod my head, our guns drawn. I round by the produce aisle and see her phone on the ground, broken as someone has stepped on it.
“Dean, I got something,” I call. Dean walks up to me and sees her phone.
“Well, that’s not good.” He mutters. My heart drops into my stomach, and I do not know how to start looking for her. I look around.
“Dean, shouldn’t someone be at the register?” I question. Dean looks around.
“Yeah, let's look around.” We split up again, trying to find out where else Y/N might have been taken.
“Sam!” I hear Dean yell. I turn and quickly return to the more excellent section where Dean stands and an employee is tied up. We quickly untie the poor guy and get him out of the cooler.
“What happened to you?” I asked, hoping he would give me any information on where Y/N was. The anxiety that the worst has already happened to her crawls up my stomach into my chest. The employee tells us that three men came into the market, they saw her, and the next thing he knew, two of them had him gagged and in the cooler, before he could even blink. They were fast and coordinated. Dean nods his head and turns to walk out of the market. I follow behind, seeing the overcast coming in. It’s going to rain soon.
“What are we thinking, demons?” Dean asks as we walk back to the Impala. I don’t answer, but I stop at her truck. My eyes start to gather tears as it sets in more and more that she is gone. Dean walks up beside me and puts his hand on my shoulder.
“We will find her, Sammy.” I nod and get in her truck to take it back to the bunker, and Dean follows in the impala. I let the tears fall the whole way back.
“I’m going to find you beautiful; just give me time,” I whisper to no one.
Your P.O.V
It’s been around two days since you were taken. You only know this by the judgment of the light coming through the little window in this rickety basement these people have you in. You have been cut, slapped, beaten on, and verbally assaulted by all three of the men who took you. You still don’t know much about them, but your hope of getting out of here is less and less every hour. There is no way for Sam to track you, have no way to figure out who took you, and these metal chains they have you restrained in aren’t going anywhere anytime soon.
You hear the door to the upstairs open, and steps start coming down. You can’t help but let out a whimper. You wish you were back at the bunker with Sam and Dean. You and Sam could be cuddling on the couch, watching a movie that neither of you is paying attention to because you two are paying attention to each other instead. Dean can comment about how you two are gross and to get a room, to which Sam would respond by getting up and picking you up, causing you to laugh as Dean makes fake gagging noises as Sam leads you to your guys’ room.
Your little daydream is cut off by someone slapping your face hard. You cry out in pain and look up to see the smallest of the three guys looking at you.
“Today is a special day!” He says excitedly, breath smelling like he hasn’t brushed his teeth in years. He doesn’t wait for you to respond but keeps going. “Cousin Lance gets in today; he liked you yesterday with the pictures we sent, so he is going to come to take you!” Your eyes grow wide. You can’t leave Lebanon. The guy laughs and gets close to your face and strokes it. “It is a shame. I thought you were beautiful, and we would keep you longer.” You look at him and spit in his face. He stumbles back, not expecting you to do that.
“Ah, you bitch.” He says, punching you in the face. That’s going to leave a bruise. You hear the door open from upstairs again.
“Tanner, let's go!” You hear a voice yell, and Tanner kicks you in the stomach before leaving back up the stairs. When the door shuts, you start crying.
“Please, Sammy, hurry.” You say in between sobs.
Sam’s P.O.V
It’s been two days, and we are no closer to finding Y/N than two days ago. The library is destroyed, our room has things thrown everywhere, and I can't remember the last time I ate. I’m sitting at the table, trying to figure out where these men could have taken Y/N. The security tapes Dean returned to get from the market don’t show their faces, so it’s hard to look up anyone who would look alike. I slam my laptop shut and put my head in my hands. For all I know, she could be dead. Dean comes walking in.
“We need to get you out of here for a little while; maybe a break will give you the fresh eyes you need, and you need to eat.”
“I can’t eat right now, Dean,” I mumble, heading to the kitchen for another beer.
“Y/N would want you to,” Dean replies.
“Y/N not here right now, Dean! Because I can’t find her! I have no idea where she is, if she is okay, or if she is already gone!” I snap at him. Dean doesn’t get angry or upset. He looks at me with understanding.
“You are running on nothing; you need to put something in your system other than alcohol if you want to be able to rescue her when we find her,” Dean says. I sigh.
“Okay.” I follow him out to the Impala to the diner, which the three of us frequently visit.
When we get there, we slide into our usual booth. Dean and I start looking at the menu, and I already know what we are going to get when I casually look up.
“Dude,” I whisper to Dean. Dean looks up at me.
“Hm?”
“Those hats look familiar?” Dean turns around while I look back at my menu. Four guys are sitting at a table. Three of them have the same hats we saw on the security camera, and the fourth guy has a different hat. Dean turns back around.
“I knew food was a good idea.” I roll my eyes.
“Dude, shut up.” The guys are too far away to hear anything they say, but we can eat and watch them. When they get up from their table, I lightly kick Dean under the table. He stuffs what he can of his burger in his mouth and then drops a fifty on the table. We get up and stroll out to the parking lot. We hear them talking to one another.
“Just follow us. It's ten minutes from here. You can't miss the house; it has Papi’s old red tractor out front, " one of the guys says. Dean and I get into the Impala and wait for the group to leave before following them from a distance.
We are coming, baby girl; hold on.
Your P.O.V
You don’t know how long they were gone. You tried everything to get out of these chains, but nothing worked. You needed the key, but it’s across the room hanging up. They put it there to mock you—disgusting pigs. You cried out in frustration and from being exhausted. You don’t know the last time you ate or drank something, and the pain is starting to catch up to you as well. You hear doors start opening upstairs and wish you could pass out. Tears make their way down your face again as you begin to realize this might be it for you; out of everything you have fought, it’s damn humans that get you. You then start to hear commotion upstairs and yelling. You listen to feet pounding around the house but can't make anything out. Your vision begins to blur, and you lean your head back against the pole you’re chained up against. Then you start hallucinating.
" Y/N?! " You hear Sam yell. You let tears out, knowing that it can’t be real; your mind is just being cruel. You hear feet pounding down the stairs, and you cry more, not caring anymore who hears you. You are sobbing.
“Please, no more, don’t hurt me anymore.” You cry out. You feel the gentlest hand cup your face.
“Oh, baby, what did they do to you?” A voice says softly. You recognize that voice. You open your eyes as best as possible and see Sam leaning over you.
“Sammy?” You whimper out.
“I’m here, beautiful, I’m here.” You relax and let out another tear.
“Thank God.” You whisper out. You hear Dean, and a few seconds later, the chain lets loose of your wrists. You feel Sam pick you up, and you cry in pain as he moves your body in a way your ribs don’t like.
“I’m sorry, baby, I’m sorry,” Sam says repeatedly. You were going to reply to him, but then darkness just overwhelmed you.
When you woke up, your head was pounding, you were sore all over, and you felt like you couldn’t move. You opened your eyes to see that you were in your old room before you started sleeping with Sam full-time. Your wrists were bandaged, along with your midsection, and places on your leg were bandaged up. Your left hand was occupied by the younger Winchester’s hand, leaning over your head, resting on your bed, fast asleep. You tried shifting a little bit but let out a little whimper of pain when you did. This woke Sam up with a start.
“Y/N, you’re awake!” He says, eyes lighting up.
“Water.” You croak out to him, throat dry as can be. He quickly grabs the water bottle from the nightstand and helps you drink some. You end up drinking half the bottle. He takes it from your lips, and you sigh, leaning your head back on the pillow. You look at Sam, and you smile.
“You saved me.” He looks at you sadly
“I’m sorry I wasn’t there sooner.” You rub your thumb across the back of his hand.
“I’m just glad you found me.” He leans over and kisses your forehead.
“I’ll always find you beautiful.” He leans lower and kisses your lips. You lean as best into the kiss, enjoying the chance to kiss him again. He puts his hand up to your hair and strokes it as he tries to be gentle, not wanting to injure you further. He pulls away and looks at you with so much love.
“I love you so much, Y/N. You are never leaving my sight again.” He says.
“I love you too, Sam.”

2AM THOUGHTS #4: "This idiot is so down bad, your honour."
Anakin looked out at the campsite and huffed a tired breath. As his eyes flickered through the Clones and Jedi, he happened to catch sight of a familiar face, one he hadn't seen in two years.
He approached her curiously, gently touching her arm to get her attention.
"Y/N?" He asked as he took in her face again. It had to be her. "It can't be..."
"Who are you?" She asked, eyebrows furrowed as she wondered how he knew her name.
"It's me, Anakin!" He said, smiling.
"Ani?" She recalled, and the use of his nickname sent chills down his spine. Her face broke out into a grin as she recognized him and she jumped in joy. "Whoa!" Anakin laughed, joining into her childish outburst of emotion.
"How did you-"
"What are you-"
They giggled as he picked her up in his arms and twirled her around in pure bliss, not caring who saw.
She was back.
He had his Y/N back!
"Maker, I missed you so much!" She said, smiling ear-to-ear.
"I missed you, too! I mean, look at you!" He exclaimed, looking for the right choice of words. "You're grown-up now!"
She giggled, cupping his face in her hands and running her thumbs over his cheekbones. "And you... look how handsome you are now! I didn't think you could get any more beautiful but you look divine..."
He smiled at her in that way that she remembered, how his eyes would sparkle and his adorable dimples would show; that same smile that made her knees buckle still had the same effect on her.
"Me? Have you seen you? You're- you're stunning." He breathed and smiled like an idiot when she hugged him again.
"Master, Master Kenobi and I- oh." Ahsoka said, approaching the two friends.
"Master? You have a Padawan now?" She asked, smirking. "I never would have guessed it."
"Neither would I," he chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck. "Ahsoka, this is Y/N, she's my best friend!"
"It's nice to meet you." The young girl smiled, offering her a nod.
"Oh, please, the pleasure is all mine." She grinned, nodding back. "Is he a good Master?"
"Yeah, he's okay." Ahsoka teased, and Anakin mocked offense by putting a hand on his chest.
"Uh, excuse me!" He said, but he couldn't keep a straight face, making Y/N laugh. He couldn't help but feel a sense of fullness when he heard her laughter leave her lips. Now it was just like when they were Padawans, when he used to make a stupid joke in an inappropriate moment and they'd hold back their snorts until they were forced to, only to burst out laughing the minute they were free until tears beaded up in their eyes.
"Um, why don't I show you around a bit?" Anakin offered.
"Maybe you can show her your tent..." she teased without thinking.
"Ahsoka!" He responded through gritted teeth, glaring daggers at her.
Y/N's cheeks tinted a soft pink, but she regained her composure to answer. "I'd love to, but I have a few things to do right now."
His expression fell slightly, like a puppy who was being denied a chance to go for a walk. "How about we catch up later this evening?"
He immediately smiled again, agreeing without thinking twice. "Of course, that would be perfection!"
He internally cringed at his choice of words. Nice going, you jackass.
Y/N just giggled at his goofiness, and hugged him again. "Great. I'll see you later, Ani." She said and left a soft, lingering kiss on his cheek.
"Bye, Ahsoka." She smiled at the Padawan, who waved back with a small smile as she looked at Anakin, who was watching her walk away while his fingertips grazed the spot her lips touched oh so gracefully.
"You are folding so damn hard for her and I am here for it." She chortled.
"What?! No! No, no!" He denied immediately. He didn't think his crush on her was so obvious. Was it?
"What's going on here?" Obi-Wan asked as he walked towards Master and Padawan.
"Y/N's back." Anakin hurried to speak before Ahsoka.
His response made Obi-Wan guffaw as well.
"This idiot is so down bad, your honour." She explained after his outburst.
"Oh, you have no idea, young one."
"Oh, shut up..." he groaned, but still looked at the direction she went in with a longing expression.
Obi-Wan and Ahsoka shared a knowing smile. She had never seen her Master, usually collected and suave, so head-over-heels for someone.
And she wasn't going to stop teasing him for the life of her.

we play dumb but we know exactly what we’re doing • ttfd
chapter two of the tortured firefighters department
previous chapter | masterlist | next chapter
cw: fem!reader, afab!reader, no descriptions of reader, banter (because i love it), mentions of food, bobby almost adopting brains, proofread by my bye-lingual ass (let me know if i forgot anything)
Your sneakers made funny noises while you walked up the stairs to the communal room — the mezzanine with a view for the ground floor — at the 118 firehouse. The fresh baked brownies — that you baked the night before, just in time to put it on the blue tupperware and take with you for your shift — jiggled as you approached the top of the stairs.
You checked the garage again, looking for Chimney’s ambulance, when you found the loft empty. Well, not that empty.
“Good afternoon, Captain Nash.” You greeted the man. As a dispatcher, your voice was your most recognizable mark, only giving out your name when necessary. And in your job, it was your responsibility to know the names of the captains. You wished Captain Nash was just an occasional contact, but lately he has been the one on the other end of the comms.
“Afternoon, dispatcher.” He was preparing some lunch for his team. “How can I help you?”
“Is Chimney around? I have something for him. Actually, it is for Maddie and baby Jee.” You motioned to the tupperware.
“He’s gonna be back soon, got stuck in traffic after delivering a civilian to the hospital. But if you are in a hurry, I can give it to him.” The captain was busy with the pans on the stove and chopping vegetables for a salad, you supposed.
“Just left my shift, I can wait. I don’t trust firefighters with carbs and sweets, no offense.” You pulled one of the chairs and took a seat, still watching the man moving effortlessly in the kitchen. “She called in sick and I need to deliver these to her before I have a kid on my doormat demanding more than just brownies.”
“None taken. Can I get you some coffee while you wait?”
“Tell me where to find a cup and I’ll get it myself, don’t wanna delay your lunch.”
“Second cabinet on the left.”
“Thanks, Cap.”
You stood up and walked into the kitchen. You have to admit: they were definitely eating well because it had all the appliances necessary for any recipe, and the smell was divine. Even the coffee had a unique aroma. Who could you talk to in order to get half of what they had in the firehouse?
“It’s the least I can do for the mastermind behind the calls after that huge traffic jam downtown last week.” He smiled. “How did you manage to divert the teams and the civilians so fast?”
“Just like ants follow patterns, so do the LA drivers. GPS apps can give up the fastest options based on their data, but it takes too much time when it comes to rescuing someone.” You explained as you walked back to your seat. “Glad no one was badly injured that day.”
“I’ve never got to an accident scene so fast. You’re really good with predictions.”
“I think my future could be bright if I used my superpowers for fortune telling and betting,” you joked. “I should be the one thanking you for all your work. And your team.”
“Bring us some of those,” he was clearly talking about the brownies, “any time.”
“Will do.”
As you finished your cup of coffee, you saw the ambulance entering the garage. Chim and Henrietta, his paramedic partner, left the vehicle and went straight for their lockers. A few more minutes wouldn’t kill you.
“Wanna stay and have lunch with us?” Captains Nash offered.
“Maybe another time. Thanks.”
It didn’t take long for Chim to show up upstairs. He looked surprised to see you in the 118 kitchen. You stood up and gave him the tupperware. “I told Maddie how many brownies I got her, so don’t fuck it up,” you warned him.
“Your package is safe and sound with me, Brains. Are you in a hurry?”
“Kinda. I have an important meeting with my bed.”
“Fair enough.” He patted your shoulder, acting like the big brother Maddie warned you about.
“See you soon, Chim. Thanks for the coffee, Cap!”
They waved goodbye, and you looked forward to spending the rest of your day sleeping. No calls, no traffic, no thesis: just you, your recently washed bed covers and fluffy pillows. The only thing in your way was a few miles to your apartment.
“I thought I’d hear you before seeing you again, Brains.”
It was scary how, after one meeting, you could recognize his voice anywhere.
“Guess it’s your lucky day, Buckley. Don’t get too happy, I’m already leaving.” You turned around to face him. The black firefighter uniform fitted him very well, even better than the white polo shirt and jeans he wore to the dinner.
“Is everything alright?” He tilted his head slightly, and kept his voice low.
“Yeah, just dropping off something for Maddie. Busy day?”
“Small domestic incident with light injuries, and a foundation problem.”
“So just a normal day in LA.” You knew about the banned Q-word, it was kinda a thing with every single 9-1-1 worker, including dispatchers. “Saved any cats from trees lately?”
“Ha-ha, you’re funny.” His voice was warm, but his face was dead serious. You were playing hot and cold, again and again. “Did moving go well?”
“My arms are sore, but it’s finally over. Thanks for asking.”
“You could start working out to help next time you move. Or if you decide to join the firefighters.”
Both are definitely bad ideas. Why would you need to add another activity into your packed agenda? You turned around and followed your way to your car. “I’ll leave the muscles for you, Buckley.”
“See ya, Brains!” He shouted on your back.
“Bye!” You motioned your hand in a goodbye, but didn’t look him in the eye.
Unbeknown to you, the rest of the crew was watching you both and placing bets on how long until one of you realized the banter was just the first step of something bigger.

Older!Dipper pines x reader
~3.2k words Chapter 1 of Douce amere,
Master list
The air in Gravity Falls was different. Maybe nostalgia clouded your perception, and maybe that was okay. It still smelled like pine and cedar and adventure here. And the day had that electric feel. It was the day they were coming.
Your alarm blared, and you groaned in response, grasping under your pillow to find your phone and silence it. Nine AM, on the dot. An early morning at the start of summer was a punishment in itself, but you had good reason today. Their bus came in at noon, and you had to be ready, meet them at the stop with the Grunkles and gang. You stumbled out of bed, and started to get dressed.
Half of you wanted to just wear pyjamas and spare yourself the trouble. The other half wanted to dress as nice as possible to snag attention. They hadn’t seen you in person in a year, even him. You sighed at yourself for giving into the stereotype, but you did want to catch his attention. No pyjamas today.
As you started to brush your teeth, you could feel the anxiety. As exciting as it was to start a new summer with them, it was scary too. What if they’ve changed? What if I’ve changed? You texted and called a lot, but…
You shook your head, trying to clear the thought. They were friends. Always were and always will be. You hoped.
Still, that wasn’t the only pain. You were older now. It was one of the last summers you’d be able to spend here with them before high school ended. You had to squeeze every bit of fun out of it while you could. Time seemed to slow here, but it still passed. Summer still ended eventually, despite everything.
You shook your head again. The very beginning wasn’t the time to think about the end.
Dressed and ready, you grabbed an apple and started to the mystery shack, a few hours before they were set to arrive. “Bye, Y/n! Have a good day!” you aunt shouted from the kitchen.
“Bye, Susan, you too!” You called back. She was incredibly kind to let you stay with her, lazy Susan.
The shack was close, and the soft grass folded under your shoes and wet them with dew. “Y/n!” You hear Soos call from the porch. He was still sporting the question mark shirt, but it was under a suit jacket, and the hat he wore was the fez Stan had given him all those years ago.
“Soos!” You shouted back, waving as you jogged your to him.
“Dude, I am so stoked for today, you don’t even know,” he said, leading you inside.
“Dude, I know too well,” you laughed. “Ugh I can’t wait, I should have slept in more.”
Wendy popped her head in from the break room, “amen, man, I’ve been here since seven.”
You cringed, and clenched a fist near your chest, “My condolences.”
The mid morning passed quickly though, despite everything. There was still that static feeling, and it only grew as the day went. And eventually, the time did in fact come. The time to go to the bus stop and meet them. You had to. All of you. Stan, Ford, Soos, Wendy, none of you were willing to prolong the meeting any further. The only shame was that Candy and Grenda were still out of town.
…
The bus was rolling in, all to slowly for your liking. For everyone’s liking. You could feel how the people around you were buzzing with excitement too. One year was far to long away from these people. Your people. The bus came to a stop seemingly at your feet.
The door seemed to slide open agonizingly slowly, but against all odds, it opened. Out came Mabel, screaming.
”Aaaaaugh! Guys!” She yelled, jumping out of the bus and skipping the stairs. She threw he luggage aside as she managed to envelope everyone in a group hug before they had time to respond.
Stan was the first to recover, quickly leaning into the hug. “Kid, you get taller every time I see you!”
Ford laughed, “You almost beat Stan and I.”
You almost spoke, but your eye caught on the second person leaving the bus. Dipper had a wide smile on his face as he watched the scene. With a sigh, he placed his bags with Mabel’s and joined he hug.
“Dip!” You found yourself exclaiming, along with Wendy. The both of you maneuvered to let him in the centre of the hug.
There they were, at last. Dipper and Mabel, Mabel and Dipper. Here. Home. You smiled, barely hearing the words around you as you buried your face in Mabel’s hair and Dipper shoulder. They smelt a bit musty from the bus ride, and a bit like Mabel’s strawberry shampoo. This was the place to be. You squeezed tighter. So did they.
…
Walking back to the shack was nice, pleasant, nostalgic. Dipper and Ford talked science, while Stan interjected to call them nerds. Soos and Wendy were chatting, and You and Mabel were catching up behind them.
It wasn’t like you didn’t call and text, but there was so much you had to just say. But Mabel was, on occasion, a stinker. She had a smug grin on her face as she drifted back a bit behind he others, prompting you to follow.
“So Y/n, are you gonna do anything about your crush on-“
You threw your hand towards Mabel, and covered her mouth before she got his name out. She immediately started to lick it, but you stayed strong. Your head whipped in front of you to Dipper and the rest of them before looking back to Mabel, who’s smirk you could see in her eyes. “Dude, what the fuck?” You whispered. Or maybe it was more of a hiss. “Don’t just say that! Not now!” You wiped your wet hand on your pants.
She giggled. “Fine, fine,” Mabel shrugged, still smirking smugly. “Just trying to help is all.”
You pursed your lips, and squinted at her. “Somehow I don’t believe that… and who says I need help?” You turned your head away from her with an uplifted chin to add an air of smug snottiness to your question.
“Uhh, the fact that you’ve been pining for like, two years, and are still single?” Mabel said dryly. You could still hear the shit eating grin in her voice, “But hey, what’s a professional matchmaker to that, hmm?”
You winced, “Okay you have a point.” You snapped your eyes back to her, and smiled, a slightly evil and cunning smile. “But this summer, I have a plan… this is the one I can feel it.”
Mabel faked a gasp, pressing her palm to her open mouth, “My gosh? A plan?” She mocked. “You sound like Dipstick now.”
”Oh god, don’t say that,” you laughed. “This isn’t like his plans, this one is simple, honestly.
Mabel looked quizzically at you in response. Her hands started to come it her eyes, nearly forming her skepticals.
”No really, don’t even with that,” you said, swatting her hands down. “I say plan but it’s really just… an idea. I’m just gonna flirt, like a lot. Like really smooth, hopefully. Or try to, at least.” Saying it out loud, you almost felt embarrassed, a slight heat creeping onto your cheeks.
Mabel on the other hand, looked ecstatic. Her head was on a swivel looking between you and Dipper. “Okay, that’s a plan I can get behind,” she said. “I think you could have moves, I see the potential.”
You stifled a laugh, “Glad to hear it, glad your rooting for me.”
”Of course I am!” She said, hands flying into the hair for effect. She turned to you as you walked, and pointed to your face with one hand, the other resting on her hip. “And I will do my absolute best to assist your noble quest whenever possible, should you choose to call upon my services!”
You played into the bit. “Appreciated, you are like my loyal knight and this is a war which we must win together.” You clasped her pointing hand in yours, “We will prevail!”
Mabel’s eyes lit up, “Fuck yeah we will!” She yelled. A bit too loud. Dipper and Soos turned their heads in front of you, shooting you curious looks.
Ever smooth, you shot them back a snap and a finger gun. Dipper only smiled, giving Soos a light punch punch the arm before drifting back to walk with you and Mabel, at your side. He laughed, “Fuck yeah you will what?”
You smirked, and stroked your chin with faux smugness. “Mmm, wouldn’t you like to know, Dip.”
Mabel chimed in, “Yeah, we got secrets, we’re scheming!”
Dipper rolled his eyes as he chuckled, “God, that has to be a new record for you guys, we’ve been here a whole five minutes and you’re already plotting shit.”
You smirked, and did your best to maintain eye contact. “Hey, I always am, it’s how I keep life interesting.”
”Life is very much that when you’re involved,” Dipper laughed.
You could feel Mabel’s eyes burning into the back of your skull as she held her tongue and listened to your banter. Involuntarily, your smile widened.
”And I wouldn’t have it any other way,” he said.
You laughed, “You couldn’t even if you wanted to.”
He blushed, his cheeks turning a slight pink colour, hopefully at your comment. First blush of the summer, hopefully the first of many you’d get from him, he was rather cute when he blushed. You were particularly fond of how the corners of his mouth curled up when he did, in the slightest of smiles.
”Welcome home, kids!” You heard Stan yell in front of you. He turned around to walk backwards toward the shack so he was facing you and the twins. “Finally, am I right?”
Ford kept his back to you, but turned his head so you could see his eyes, “we’ve been looking forward to you kids coming back for a while, if you couldn’t tell.”
”Stans been driving me up the walls talking about you guys for months,” Wendy chuckled. “Y/n too for the last few days.”
You couldn’t help yourself, ”Hey, I did not!” you defended.
Soos snickered, “dude, you totally did.”
You pursed your lips and hummed lowly in disapproval. They were probably right, but that wasn’t something you’d outwardly admit. “Yeah whatever, nerds, that’s not how I remember it.”
Stan cackled, ”The congratulations, you got Alzheimer’s before the seventy year old man!”
You grumbled, trapped in this conversational corner. Mabel smiled, and elbowed your side, “Awww, somebody missed us!”
Dipper spoke too, “That much?” he asked, a little too innocently. Innocent enough to be mocking.
You scoffed, “like you guys are any better.”
You all moved inside the shack to get settled in the living room, all still chatting. Dipper and Mabel’s suit cases were leaned against a wall by the stairs.
Mabel pushed Dipper hard on the back towards you. “You’re right, Y/n, this little rascal hasn’t shut up about you guys for a week.” Dipper whipped his head around to glare at her, as if a threat. She snickered, “especially you, Y/n,” she teased.
Dipper spun his head back around to look at you, and rubbed the back of his neck. “Not like that-“he sputtered, a blush in his cheeks.
You smiled. If you had to guess, you’d call if fifty/fifty it was actually not like that. You hoped anyway. Fifty/fifty on a good day, twenty-five/seventy-five against you on most others. “I believe it, Mabel is a half reliable source at best.”
”Hey!”
Stan chimed in and spoke to Mabel, “Hate to agree with Y/n, but they are completely right, sweetie.”
…
The conversation moved, and you all caught up with everyone. As much as you already had, having arrived a few days before the twins, there was always more to say, more stories to tell. A lot can happened between summers.
And eventually, it simmered down, and the twins started to try and settle in.
There was a double edged sword to that, being, the twins still shared a room despite their age. It was slightly more annoying now then it was when they were twelve, especially to you, who occasionally wanted to hangout there with Dipper, and divorce yourself from Mabel’s match making antics from time to time.
Mabel took her bags up first, running up the stairs with haste and excitement. You walked up behind Dipper, catching his attention, and did you best at a little bow. “May I help with your bags, m’lady,” you asked.
Dipper grimaced and recoiled, but a smile crossed his lips. “You sound like a redditor,” he snickered as he started to pick up his suitcases.
You shrugged, “Your loss.”
He smiled, “I wouldn’t let m’lady strained their perfect hands.”
You laughed as you walked with him up the stairs. “Ew, yeah, I hear it. Never again, no more m’lady, too neckbeard for me.”
”Good, because I took a lot of psychic damage from that,” he said. “You can mimic the Redditor mannerisms with freakish accuracy, right down to the face.”
You put your hand to your chest, feigning hurt. “I take incredible offence to that, I do not have Reddit face,” you scoffed.
As you approached the door to the attic, you stepped in front of Dipper to open it for him, who had full hands. Mabel was already laying on the bed with Waddles, kicking her feet in the air as she laid on her stomach. There were already posters on the wall and stuffed animals on the bed, too.
Dipper barely batted and eye, moving to his side of the room with a small comment, “you work fast.”
Mabel shocked, ”You know me, they call me sonic in the-“
“Buddy,” you cut her off. “You finishing that sentence would actually kill me.”
She smirked, and rolled on her back to face you. “There’s a joke there about finishing, but I don’t wanna look for it.”
”Everyday you find new ways to disgust me.”
“Imagine living with her,” Dipper added, taking folded clothes out of his suitcase.
Mabel grumbled, but said nothing and instead rolling over and looked at her phone. Waddles oinked beside her.
“Hey, it’s summer, I can imagine it perfectly well.”
Dipper laughed, and sat on the bed, looking at you with a smile. “Yeah… you do pretty much live here in the summer, huh?”
You sat down next to him, and grabbed the old musty pillow that rested at the head. “Good thing or bad thing?”
He looked away, and laughed slightly, “Good thing.”
…
The day went by, remarkably fast. The sun set, the energy simmered, people left. Soos and Wendy went home, leaving you chatting with Stans late at night. You didn’t quite want to leave yet. Instead, you nodded and snapped a finger gun to Stan and Ford, and quietly ascended the stairs to the twins room.
Mabel was sleeping already, snoring lightly. Not loud enough to bother you much. Dipper though, was reading. A small lamp in the bedside table illuminated the small space by his bed, where he sat upright against the headboard. “Dip,” you said quietly. “What are we reading?”
He looked up from his novel with wide eyes, as if broken from a trance. “Oh, God- y/n,” he stuttered, startled. “Are you staying over?”
You bounded over to the bed and took a seat next to him, nestling your feet under the blanket. “Yeah, but that’s not the point,” you said, leaning on his shoulder and glancing at the books pages. “What are we reading?”
His skin was warm on your hands and arms as you leaned on him. His loose t-shirt was soft, too. He stammered a bit, “Oh, well- it’s a mystery novel, a murder, detectives…” Dipper looked at you for a flicker, as if checking to see if you were still interested. “There’s these two brothers that are the main characters, and this one guy who’s their partner.” Dipper taps the pages, and chews his lip. “But I have my suspicions about one of them.”
You hum slightly in a hushed laugh. “So tell me now, who’s the killer?”
Dipper rolled his neck, cracking it. “Man, I really think it’s the partner guy, but it’s awful because one of the brothers is in love with him.”
You winced, “oh shit.” You knew the feeling, empathy for a doomed character. “That kind of sucks for him.” Dipper nodded, and turned the page. He was maybe halfway through the book. you read along with him, trying to gain whatever you could from the out of context scenes. “So should I pick it up, or wait for you to finish it so I can read your next book with you?”
Very quickly you felt heat radiating from him. You did your best not to pull away in the inherent embarrassment of closeness, pushing though the fact that you made him blush again to stay leaned against him, your chin rested gently near his collar bone. “Well I mean- this one is really good, I’ll admit, but I may have just spoiled it for you…”
You waved your hand as he turned another page. “Eh, I don’t mind too bad. Mystery isn’t even my main genre, I just love the book club,” you said. It was nothing but true, it didn’t matter the quality of the book if you were reading it with him, or anyone really. But mainly him, or sometimes Mabel. Even if it was the worst book ever written, it was at least fun to discuss it and make fun of it together.
“Well in that case, yeah I’d recommend it,” he said. “Wanna borrow my copy when I finish?”
”Mmhmmm,” you hummed, tired. “Or I could just read with you, I guess. I’m sure the first half wasn’t that important.”
Dipper shook his head, a slight and baffled smile forming across his lips. “I disrespectfully disagree with you,” he said, turning the page.
You yawned, “That’s… rude.” Your eyes were sluggish as they followed along with the words. Dipper started to turn the page again, before you were ready. You quickly cut him off, “Hey, hey, wait for me, I’m tired, alright?”
He turned the page back, “Alright, alright,” he yawned in response.
You pawed at the pages when you finished, and on the next one, Dipper waited for you to do it again before turning it. And then, again.
And somewhere along the way, you fell asleep, sitting with him on his bed, head leaned on his shoulder, and feet warmly huddled under the blanket. It was summer, and everything was okay again, home, in gravity falls. Whatever the summer held for you, whether it be mystery, adventure, love… you were ready. Whatever summer could throw at you, you were ready

My warnings are not exhaustive but be aware this is a dark fic and may include potentially triggering topics. Please use your common sense when consuming content. I am not responsible for your decisions.
Characters: Thor, Bucky Barnes (Professor AU)
Summary: the new school year proves to be hectic. (short!chubby! reader)
Part of the Bad Professors AU
Note: Please leave some feedback and reblog <3 As always, I love to chat with you all.
“Hey, Oli, hold my seat,” you say into the phone speaker, “I gotta run! The professor’s office hours close in... ten minutes and I desperately need to be signed into this course. I swear, if I’m stuck taking philosophy again I’m gonna cry.”
“No problem, we can wait,” Olive assures you. She’s always a comfort. She wouldn’t dare mention how you always cry or that you did this to yourself by waiting until the last minute to sort your schedule.
“Alright, gotta go! You don’t wanna hear me huffing and puffing,” you chuff, “buh-bye!”
You hang up and clutch your phone, your bag bouncing, your bum too! You hurtle forward between the bodies of students who refuse to part for your passing. You veer towards the history building and nearly trip up the steps.
You heave as you get to the stop and grunt as you drag open the heavy wooden door. Ugh! Why are you weak? Not just in body, but mind too. If you had a degree of discipline, this wouldn’t be happening. Again.
You slow as you climb the next set of stairs. Yeah, you can’t do that. You’re dizzied by the endless halls set out like a twisted maze meant to house beasts with human heads and bulls’ bodies. It doesn’t help that those signs are fuzzy. You can make out the letters if you get real close.
You finally get to the door you need, dragging your feet as your legs burn. You raise your hand to knock on the door but it opens as if it can sense you. That’s silly. Doors don’t open themselves.
It’s too late to stop yourself from knocking on the man’s upper stomach. You cringe and pull your hand back against your chest. You force your lips into a smile.
“Sorry, I—are office hours over? I ran here,” you gasp. “I’m sorry.”
The man looks down at you and you sway nervously. He’s taller than you. Well, most people are. His blue eyes bore into you as his cheek dimples in agitation.
“Please--”
“I don’t know,” he grips the mug in his hand tighter. “Odinson, another one.”
The man doesn’t bother with an excuse me or pardon. He steps forward and you stumble back. You sidle out of his way and he marches down the hall. You peer through the door again. An even bigger man rises from behind a desk and smiles. The blond is a lot more welcoming than the brunette.
“Ah hello, I suppose you’ve come to be let into my Norse course?” He intones as he crosses the office and extends his large hand. “Professor Odinson.”
“Cerise,” you accept his hand. It’s like a paw. Maybe there are mythical beasts in here. Though he is more what you imagine a god to be. Large, golden, and those eyes. “Yes, I’m so sorry! I meant to enroll before the deadline but I had it down wrong and then I realised it was two days late and--”
“Not to worry. It’s an intensive language course. We are bound to have a few withdrawals so I’d be happy to take on a few extra,” he assures you. “Do you have your form?”
“Oh, yes!” You let the straps of your bright pink purse part on your arm and you dig inside. You take out the paper and a scatter rains over the floor. “Oops!” You bend to collect the wrapped candies and the heart lollipop. “I kinda... hurried here.”
“Not to worry,” he grins down at you as you hold out the form again.
His eyes skim to your other hand and you open your fist. “Er, you want some?”
“If you don’t mind? But don’t mention it. I wouldn’t like anyone to think I can be bribed with sweets. Though it may be true,” he winks and takes one of the strawberry candies and the form. “Cerise, an interesting name.”
He turns and goes back to his desk. You follow behind him, nervous to enter the office completely. There’s another desk. The office is bigger than you expect. You stand across form him as he sits. He lays out the paper and unwraps the candy.
He pops the sweet into his mouth and hums, “delicious.”
You teeter on your toes and clasp and unclasp your purse as he searches for a pen. He sucks loudly on the confection. As you try not to fidget, there’s a clink that makes you jump. You peek over at the other man as he returns with a full cup. He drops into his chair with as little caution.
His eyes meet yours. The line of his brows of them make you flinch. He looks angry but why? Or you think so. You narrow your eyes as you try to see him clearer.
You turn back to Odinson and shake off the tension. He scribbles with a pen across the bottom of the form. He makes a wet noise with his mouth and the other man grunts.
“Do you have to?” The dark-haired man snarls.
“Forgive my office mate,” Odinson tuts as he hands over the paper. “Barnes is rather crotchety since his own office was flooded. You think he’d be a bit more grateful for my generosity, elsewise he’d be languishing in some basement.”
“I said ‘thank you’,” the other professor mutters.
“Mm, yes, but not loud enough to hear,” Odinson chides and gives a laugh. “Don’t fret about him. I tease. We are merely adjusting to each other. You must live in residence? You know how it can be to have to adapt to others.”
“Oh, yes, my roommate is a night owl. I already know I’m not going to get any sleep,” you take the form, “thank you, sir.”
“Not at all, but I must warn you. This is a language course, not mythology. We use the stories to learn the language so you will need to be attentive to your studies,” he girds, “I’d hate for this all to be for not.”
“I understand,” you look down at the form. You can kind of make out his signature.
It’s fine. They have all sorts of assistive technology these days. First year, you go through one text-to-speech. Everything is only so you’re really not worried. And you would love to be able to speak like a viking.
“I’ll see you in class, professor,” you give a triumphant smile and bounce on your heel as you turn.
Barnes huffs heavily as you cross the office. You stop as a crinkle comes from your hand. You only realise then you’re still clutching onto the candies. You glance over and slowly near his desk.
“Do you want one?” You open your hand and offer the candies.
He doesn’t even look up, “no.”
Odinson sucks loudly, “don’t be such a bore. Leave him a chocolate. He does like them. He keeps truffles in his drawer.”
Barnes inhales sharply but doesn’t say a word. You take one of the chocolate balls and put it on his desk. You dump the rest in your bag then spin away.
“Have a great day,” you chirp as you get to the door.

Do you know the Story of the Spider and the Fly? (It’s so perfect and creepy, I read it when I was a kid)
Yandere Drider Dio tries to trick and woo Darling into entering his Parlor (Darling is a Butterfly Hybrid or a Human)
Darling doesn’t fall for any of Dio’s tricks or seductions as she knows he’ll only eat her
However Dio ends up becoming wooed by Darling instead and has a different kind of hunger now
Dio finally has Darling in his clutches as he wraps her in his webs, only he intends to keep her in his home as his mate not his dinner like all his countless past victims
Dio has breeding on his brain
Dio would be a Golden Silk Orb-Weaver (Even his webbing would be gold colored!) and his webbing in incredibly strong
Ooh I like it, I think darling would be a blue morpho butterfly. Pretty blue and black wings that dio thought would make pretty decorations in his den after he devours her. I had to write a short little story for this.
Warning: dismemberment
"Will you come inside my palor dear? for I have many treasures inside" the golden drider spoke in such a sultry tone.
"No I shall not, for I hear rumors that none come out alive" you replied with a smile, hovering just out of the driders reach. For you knew no fancy name would ever fool you, it was his den and he was surely trying make you his next meal.
That wasn't a response he'd heard before. Most either came in or rushed away. Yet you dangled yourself just out of his grasp. He wanted to devour you and pluck of your pretty blue wings to decorate his den like he had with other parts of his victims.
You were taunting him, and he was up for the challenge.
"The rumors are false dear and you must be tired flighing all day, I offer my bed for you to rest" he cooed.
"Oh but I have heard rumor that those who slept in your bed were never to wake again" you continued smugly, you knew he would devour you but you remained out of reach.
"I thank you for offering me your hospitality sir but I must return home now" you told him before flying away. Though it would not be the last time you passed the driders den.
🦋🦋🦋
Dio noticing you were foraging for food and called out to you.
"Dear butterfly I have plenty of food inside, won't you come in and have a bite" he lulled.
"Oh I am quite alright sir, there are rumors of what is inside your pantry and do not wish to see" you replied, still just out of his reach. You were far too proud. You liked the attention and from your hight he was no predator to you.
"Well I guess I shall search else where, good bye sir" you said before leaving him again. You enjoyed playing this game just as much as he did and he had to find out how to best you.
🦋🦋🦋
"Oh how gorgeous your wings are" the other butterflies told you as they showered you in praises and shiny gifts. As you deserved for your precious wings. Staring into your reflection in the water, it was never good enough. Nothing could reflect how beautiful your wings were.
"Oh if only I could see clearly how beautiful they really are" you thought out loud, enough so that Dio heard from where he hid. Oh he had the perfect thing for you, a human mirror he'd taken for himself.
But seeing how much you were revered and how you soaked it up, perhaps weren't too different to him. You played a cute dainty role but in reality you were just as cunning as he was. However he knew now how to lure you in now.
🦋🦋🦋
"Sweet butterfly, you are a wise thing and the blue of your wings puts the sky itself to shame" he flattered you as you flew by. You stopped.
"Is that so sir? I'm very flattered" you said to the drider.
"If only you could look upon your own beauty" he continued.
"I wish I could" you told him ready to make your leave.
"I have something, a stone so smooth and shiny that it perfectly reflects. It's like staring directly at yourself" he told and you stopped again.
You shook your head. No you couldn't, it's a trap and you knew it but it tempted you. Such a thing existed, oh you had to see but you wouldn't.
"You should see for yourself that you are a brilliant gem dear butterfly" he called and you landed on your feet and approached.
He stood aside and let you enter his den and you saw it, you saw yourself so clearly. You walked closer and closer to it before you were snared in a trap.
"You, you tricked me!" You snarled at the drider.
"Oh I did not trick you, all I told you were truths dear" he chuckled as he approached you from behind.
"Now I'll be taking these, for they have kept you away from me for far too long" he said.
"What are you-!" You were cut of by a horrible pain as he tugged at one of your wings.
"No! Stop!" You wailed as you struggled in his web.
"Though they are pretty, they will only be an inconvenience" he said before tearing the first one out.
You were a wailing mess, quite literally being torn away by the thing you cared most about.
"Why not eat me first?! Why must you torture me like this?!" You screamed.
"Oh I do not intend to eat you dear butterfly, I shall take you into my web as my bride" he mused as he made work on the other wing.
Soon enough the second wing was torn and you were left a sobbing mess while he hung them in the entrance way like the pretty decorations they were meant to be.
He then returned to you, spinning his fine silk around you. Oh how arrogant you were mere minutes ago, now a sobbing mess. He took such delight in it as he dragged you deeper into his den.

the past two weeks had been agonizing. i wasn't allowed to hang out with nate for a month. yet here he was, sitting in the living room after school playing play station with the boys.
i rubbed my hands over my face, sighing as i walked down the stairs towards the kitchen. "hey erika," nate greeted, causing me to smile. "hey nate," i say, getting a juice from the fridge.
"where's mom?" i ask.
"garage maybe?" nick said, looking away from his phone for a split second to look at me. "thanks," i say, shooting him air guns.
"mom!" i call, walking towards the garage. "mooooom!"
"what erika?" my mom says, poking her head out from behind the garage door.
"can kayla come over?" i ask, looking at her with pleading eyes. she sighs and shrugs her shoulders. "yes! thank you!" i exclaim, smiling widely. "thank you thank you!"
i run over and kiss her cheek, making her laugh. "open doors," marylou states with pointed fingers, "open doors." i roll my eyes and smile at her, nodding.
i pull my phone out of my pocket and dial kayla's number. "hello?"
"my mom said you can come over," i say excitedly. "be there in five," the girl on the other side giggles.
"she's gonna be here in five!" i yell, walking up the stairs. i get no response from any of the guys, and sigh, knowing they can't hear me over their own voices.
i go into my room and change into a new shirt, tossing my previous one into the hamper. i sit at my desk and wait for kayla, "i'm here!" a voice exclaims, making me turn to the doorway.
"she's here," i repeat, giving her a hug. "what first? gossip about sydney?" she asks, i roll my eyes at the mention of one of the girls we hated the most. the only true reason being she was rude as hell.
"no," i say, sitting back down, "how are things going with you and jay?" she groans and plops onto my bed, her eyes closed.
"not well," she groans. i give her a questioning look and she sits up. "i'm pretty sure he has a thing for someone else," she huffs, her hands moving wildly around her face.
"no," i deadpan, "what? no way. i thought he really liked you?"
"that's what i thought," she sighs, looking up.
"i'm so sorry kay," i whisper, hugging her again.
"it's fine," she laughs, her mood changing. "so, let's talk about you," she smirks. "not much there," i say, not mentioning anything about nate.
"sure," she chuckles. "oh, did you hear about the party at liz's house?" she asks, her eyes wide with excitement.
"liz? party? you've got to be kidding," i scoff, laughing a bit. "my mom would never let me go, especially not right after i just got busted for smoking and drinking," i tell her.
"that's why sneaking out is a fun thing to do," she says and i shake my head. "did it once, do it twice it becomes a habit," i state.
"oh come on," she whines.
"kay, if i get caught, i'm done," i stress. "fine," she pouts, crossing her arms over her chest.
"you can go," i say, her eyes lighting up, "but i can't, kay." she smiles and hugs me. "thanks eri," she says, standing up. "i'll see you at school," she says, walking out of the door.
"bye!"
a few days later, it was the weekend, and i was bored. the boys were on a trip to california and kayla was sick. i sighed as i watched the tv hung on my wall, changing the show every so often.
knocks sounded from my door, causing me to turn my head. "it open," i call. the door opens, showing my mom's face as she peaks her head in.
"i'm going shopping, need anything?" she asks, i shake my head and she shuts the door. a few moments later i hear her car leaving and the sound of the garage shutting.
i walk downstairs and check the time on my phone. 10:49 in big white letters, i groan, tugging at my brown roots.
"i should dye my hair," i say to myself, pulling my phone back out to google ideas.
after 30 minutes, i had a few good ones, i instacarted black and red hair dye to the house, as well as hair bleach and began the process.
i grabbed bowels, going to the bathroom where i set out old and stained towels.
i took a deep breath, looking at myself in the mirror. "don't fuck up," i mumble to myself. i wet my hair, then began adding the bleach after mixing the toner and developer together.
as i applied the bleach, i foiled the strands. when i finished i set a timer for thirty minutes as i waited for the bleach to do its job.
after the timer went off, i rinsed my hair, the water running a gross, pale-yellow color down the drain. i washed my hair with purple shampoo to tone it, drying my hair some with a towel before parting it down the middle of my head.
i opened the red dye first, squeezing the contents of the tube out. i sectioned the hair on the left side and began adding the dye.
i repeated the steps until the whole left side of my head was covered in the red dye.
i repeated the steps with the black, waiting an hour for it to develop on my head before i rinse.
after i rinsed, i wrapped a towel around my head, blow-drying my hair and brushing through it. when i pulled the towel off, i smiled, running my fingers through the soft, now black and red strands.
i took a snap sending it the kayla, with the text 'thoughts??'.
'omg!'
'you look hot!'
'so much better than that boring brown'
i smiled at her texts, feeling a little more confident with my appearance. i put stuff away, throwing the empty tubes of dye in the trash and washing the bowels that held the contents.
i ran upstairs, grabbing my phone and flopping on my bed. i scrolled through tiktok, stopping to watch videos every now and then.
as i was about to fall asleep, my phone rang, making me jump. my mom's name popping up on my phone, the options accept or decline flashing.
"yeah?" i say, answering the phone. "be there in five, i need help carrying in groceries," she says. "ok," i reply, getting off of the bed as the phone goes dead.
i slip on some shoes and walk outside, the cold breeze blowing against my warm skin. i see my mom's car pulling up, before it pulls into the driveway. "you changed your hair," she states, getting out.
the trunk pops open, revealing the back loaded with grocery bags. "i was bored, do you like it?" you ask. she runs her fingers through it, squinting slightly due to the sun.
"looks good on you sweetheart," she says, smiling.
we make multiple trips, bringing in bags as fast as we can. "how was shopping?" i ask, helping her put the stuff away. "fine," she breathes, putting canned foods on a shelf.
"you have work later?" she asks, and i nod my head, "six o'clock sharp." she nods her head, "when's dad getting off work?" i ask, "four," she replies, checking the time.
"what's for dinner?" i ask, closing the fridge and grabbing my phone. "probably spaghetti," she says, "can you help set the table when it's time?"
i nod my head, "yep," i say and then go back upstairs.
