rambles abt my humanstuck au under the cut
jade is like an oc to me <3
in my au jade and jake are siblings who got lost in the woods when they were very young [maybe like 3 and 6] and they were raised by a white wolf for several years. eventually, they were found [jade was about 5, jake was about 8] and adopted by grandma and grandpa english, two heirs who escaped crockercorp and built themselves a cabin in the woods. though grandpa wants to name the wolf after his childhood dog halley, grandma names him bec after the scientist bc its easier for jade and jake to say.
since jade is younger than jake, she has a much stronger attachment to bec than he does, to the point where she and bec are virtually inseparable. this made school a challenge since bec refused to let jade out of his sight, but the local elementary schools didnt care for letting a wolf hang around their students. she was homeschooled by grandpa, learning everything from nuclear physics to hunting and tracking. until one day, when she was about 9, he went missing. grandma figured he got turned around in the woods at his old age and went after him, only to go missing herself. the two kids found their bodies later that day, both with bullet holes in them. grandpa’s body was mostly intact but grandma’s was in worse condition, so, like their grandparents taught them, jade embalmed grandpa while jake cremated grandma.
with their survival knowledge from their grandparents, bec’s hunting and protection, and dipping into the fortune their grandparents left behind, jade and jake were able to survive for a few months on their own before they were discovered. since jake hadn’t been attending school, the school noticed something was up and cps came to check on them. fearing separation, they faked their deaths by burning down the cabin and hiding themselves and their most valuable possessions in the hidden bunker [grandma and grandpa had been paranoid their whole lives and over prepared for the worst].
PM, an old friend of grandma’s, hears about the english family’s mysterious disappearance and comes to investigate. after a brief scuffle with bec, she finds jake and jade and adopts them. all of their documents burned in the fire so PM pulls some strings [PM has lived a very interesting life, so she knows a lot of people w influence] and gets them a new identity as jade and jake harley and sends them to the local middle school with bec registered as jade’s esa, since jade gets incredibly anxious without him around. despite PM’s efforts, jade is only able to go to public school part time since the school doesnt want bec around very often, but jade likes things better this way anyway [everything at school is too easy/boring for her]. since PM works full time, jade mostly self studies. to get jade to get out into society more, PM encourages her to take music lessons at the local music school, which is where she meets rose, john, and dave, who are taking violin, piano, and music theory classes respectively [jade is taking bass lessons]. they all go to different middle schools but they talk online all the time.
all of their middle schools feed into the same high school, so eventually they are able to go to school together. at this point, jade has been in therapy for years so she is a little less dependant on bec and is able to attend school full time without needing him constantly beside her [but he still insists on walking with her to and from school and visiting her during lunch]. even as a high schooler, jade wears dog ears, and occasionally a tail, to school every day because they remind her of bec [when shes stressed she will rub the ears like a comfort blanket].
she is taking all AP classes, is on the track team, is petitioning for the school to form a rifle team, is in the gardening club, plays flute in the school orchestra [she is not good at ALL but she loves it], and is on the robotics team. she also is in a band with dave, john, and rose [she plays bass with them, thankfully]!
other than school and businesses that dont allow animals, jade brings bec wherever she goes, including the other kids’ houses. john is a little scared of bec but thinks bec is cool. he just wishes bec didnt insist on laying on his bed though, he sheds everywhere! rose is more of a cat person but has a healthy respect for bec and also appreciates how having bec around freaks out her mom [mom will always offer bec a lovely steak tartar, though. her passive aggression clearly knows no bounds, not even fear]. dave claims he and bec are mortal enemies but bec does not care about him at all. dave is terrified of bec but would never admit it, but he tolerates his presence for jade’s sake.

From Fall Fling to THING, and the Seattle Showboxes in Between
Most attendees of the 2022 Fall Fling will remember The Moss’s enrapturing performance, complete with barefoot bassist Caiden Jackson, singer Tyke James’s charisma, and, for those at the barricade who had the chance to see it (and pose for a picture if you were me), a setlist on a paper plate. Loyal concert enthusiasts who stayed until the end will recall headliner Jean Dawson, donning a rain jacket despite the unrelenting Seattle heat—summer hadn’t given way to autumn weather just yet—and his fusion of hip hop and experimental indie rock. Perhaps the early birds at Fall Fling can reminisce over the two openers, both local groups: Kaede 01, a J-Pop/J-Rock cover band, and Aurora Ave., an ensemble whose sound is a blend of indie rock and pop with hints of jazz. The majority of audience members, however, didn’t start to trickle in until The Moss was on, about an hour and a half into the show. My group was the outlier, showing up half an hour before Kaede 01 went on and maintaining our spot in the front row until the end. As a concert enthusiast who has spent hundreds of dollars on tickets over the past few years, I was baffled that this show was “brought to students’ doorsteps free of charge,” as I now tell my audiences as a campus tour guide. As an incentive to attend the University of Washington, I’ll inform prospective students that in 2015, just two years before SZA released her debut album, Ctrl, she was an opener at the Spring Fling, playing alongside Rae Sremmurd and A-Trak. That’s right, opener! Through the Associated Students of the University of Washington (ASUW)’s Fall and Spring Flings, countless venerable artists, from Nirvana to Kendrick Lamar, have entertained UW crowds.
Aurora Ave. may not be Nirvana (yet), but their performance certainly made a lasting impression on me. In 2021, the group released their first and only album thus far under the same name as the band. They played several of these songs at the Fall Fling, my favorites of which are “Skipping Stones” and “It’s Over/Who Said.” A saxophonist, trumpet player, drummer, and several bassists lined the stage, setting the musical backdrop for the vocalist: a young woman who swayed to the melodies her bandmates played while she sang. At the barricade, I cheered for Aurora Ave. They were the first group to catch my attention with their call-and-response between instruments and upbeat neo-jazz phrases blending seamlessly with smooth soprano vocals. At the end of their set, the ensemble covered Tyler, The Creator feat. Kali Uchis’s “See You Again,” engaging with the audience and even getting a few people to sing along and wave their hands.
After a forty-minute intermission, The Moss arrived, decked in earthy tones and ready to bump the energy up a notch. An established crowd had gathered who immediately grew infatuated with the talented Tyke, Caiden, Willie, and Addison—including a girl named Cece who made her way up to the front row with me. Based on our mutual affinity for The Moss, I made a wild guess that Cece and I had similar music tastes. In the spirit of spontaneity and camaraderie, I asked if she’d come to another show with me the next night. We all remember how easy it was to let your guard down and make friends that first week of college.
“Hey, this is random, but do you listen to Arlo Parks?” I yelled between songs.
“Yeah, I love her. Why?”
“I’m actually seeing her at Showbox Sodo tomorrow and I have an extra ticket if you want to join me.”
“Yeah, I’m down!”
Well, turns out Arlo Parks was NOT performing at Showbox Sodo. Arlo and her opener Puma Blue were at the OTHER Seattle Showbox arena, The Showbox. Who let Seattle use “Showbox” to name two of its venues? Cece and I couldn’t be the only ones to mix the two up, and in fact, we weren’t. When we arrived, expecting a line of Arlo-obsessed fans impatiently waiting for the doors to open, Cece and I were surprised to find that we were alone. We didn’t start to panic yet—we’d arrived ambitiously early. Still, as we waited for guests to trickle in, only one did. I want to say his name was Wyatt, but I honestly can’t be sure. He Who Is Probably Wyatt approached us, and we soon confirmed the three of us were searching for a concert that had no signs of being found. There were no musical ties to this location: no tour buses, security guards, flashy outfits, or excited chatter in the vicinity. After waiting a few more minutes, someone Googled the concert and ascertained that we were at the wrong venue. We laughed it off and began the trek to the other Showbox.
The journey to The Showbox was a fever dream. I think we took some sort of public transportation because I can’t imagine us walking for thirty minutes, but I do remember there was a portion where we had to walk along the highway. As we strolled down the island of the highway, I could feel the rustle of cars rushing by me. Terrifying. Yet I remember feeling a buzz of exhilaration in my step, despite knowing that my company and safety net of people were two strangers: one I’d freshly met fifteen minutes before, and the other whom I’d known a whole night longer. Comforting, huh?
In a moment of serendipity, we made it to The Showbox just as opener Puma Blue began his set, and managed to weave through the crowd to the barricade. This scene of my life felt scripted; it was as if the writers arranged this elaborate concert venue mix-up just to introduce a new side character into the story: HWIP Wyatt or what’s his name. Unlike most of the attendees that night, Wyatt had come to this concert exclusively for Puma Blue and had never even heard of Arlo Parks.
“Wow, that’s dedication,” I exclaimed. “But you’ve gotta stay for her set after.”
“We’ll see,” he responded. “What are your favorite songs of hers?”
“I really like ‘Caroline’.”
“Okay. I’ll stay for ‘Caroline’.”
When “Caroline” came on, I nudged Wyatt, then disassociated completely and lent myself to Arlo for the next four minutes. I let her inflate me with her tenderness and poetry. Wyatt was in awe of her, too, and ended up staying for her whole set. In the chaos of the crowd’s dissipating congestion after the encore, “Softly,” Cece and I lost Wyatt just as we found Puma Blue at the merchandise booth, taking photos and talking to his fans.
“We met a guy tonight who bought tickets to this show just to see you, and I wanted to let you know,” I told Puma, after complimenting him on his set.
“Wow, really?! That’s amazing! I’m honored. I’d love to meet him. Is he here?” Puma said something along these lines.
“Sorry, we separated from him as everyone was leaving.”
“Well, thank you for telling me. That made my night.”
After saying goodbye to Puma, the writers were at it again. Cece and I stepped out of the venue and came face-to-face with Wyatt one final time. I couldn’t believe it.
“WE JUST MET PUMA AND WE TOLD HIM ABOUT YOU. GO BACK INSIDE AND FIND HIM. QUICK!!!” I screamed, my voice dead from singing along to Arlo’s songs.
“WHAT?!”
“PUMA WANTS TO MEET YOU. HE KNOWS YOU CAME JUST TO SEE HIM. GO!!!”
“OKAY, I’M GOING. THANK YOU!!!” He was electric. I hope he caught Puma in time.
Funny enough, I never hung out with Cece after that. I see her every once in a while around campus and think of the eventful concert experience we shared—that type of adventure bonds you for life.
…
Many concerts later, the highlights of which were Dora Jar, SZA, and Omar Apollo, and The Moss Pt. II, another concert was brought to my backyard. I often compare my hometown of Port Townsend, Washington, to Gilmore Girls’ Stars Hollow, Connecticut because of the quirky, tight-knit nature of its residents and the multitude of festivals we have. From a Wearable Arts Show to a Rhododendron Festival and an entire week of festivities in honor of Washington’s state flower, Port Townsend’s community events are a vessel for artistry. THING Festival, established in 2019 by Seattle Theater Group (STG), was my dream come true: an independent three-day music festival nestled in Fort Worden State Park, just down the hill from my house. Before relocating to Carnation, Washington, THING’s last run in its initial location was in August of 2023; since I volunteered, this was my first time properly going and not just sneaking in or listening from my house.
As one can imagine, August 25-27 was one of the best weekends of my life. Laufey, Cigarettes After Sex, and “Evergreen” by Richy Mitch and The Coal Miners were the TikTok draw-ins, and they didn’t disappoint. Mild High Club positioned their music equipment back to back, and each player sat facing their boards—my friend joked that it looked like they were playing chess. I volunteered during the majority of The Beths’ set, but my friends brought me a guitar chip that I’ve plastered on my dorm wall next to my Samia (who also performed that weekend) and Arlo Parks chips (from seeing her again a year and a half later). Thee Sacred Souls was my favorite live show that weekend. I like to boast that Josh Lane hopped off the stage and stood directly over me while singing “Will I See You Again?” In honor of “Can I Call You Rose?,” my friends and I bought Josh (humor me into thinking we’re on a first-name basis… he did sign a post-it note after the show with “all love, Josh”) a bouquet of roses and decorated the exterior paper with roses and kind messages. The security guard handed it to him, but since we were at the barricade for that show, he knew it came from us, and extended his gratitude after the show. I’ve never felt like more of a die-hard fangirl before.
Cherry Ferrari was not on my radar until my dad, upon looking at the THING lineup, recommended I check them out. This duo was the first act on the smaller stage that Saturday afternoon, and I showed up over halfway through the set with easy access to the barricade. The female vocalist was transitioning from an original to a cover of “No Scrubs” by TLC. Something about her essence felt familiar. Was it her voice? Her appearance? Her charisma and dynamism?
As she continued performing, I realized it was all three. This girl HAD to be the lead singer of Aurora Ave. But where was the trumpet and the saxophone? And how come all the songs she’d played were in a completely different style?
I dismissed the idea; it couldn’t be.
Regardless of who she was, the singer’s stage presence struck me and I happily reciprocated her energy, as did the girls to my left. When she sang another original song, they knew all the words. I was impressed. Maybe they were her friends? Like before, I started a conversation with the girls between songs.
“Are you guys friends with the singer? How do you know the lyrics of her songs?” I asked.
“We don’t know her well or anything, but she opened for our friend’s band,” one of the girls said.
“Really? What are they called? I love finding new music.”
“Aurora Ave.”
No. Way. I waited until after Cherry Ferrari had finished their set and explained what I knew.
“This is gonna sound crazy, but I thought she was connected to Aurora Ave. I swear she came and performed at UW for our fall concert but as the lead singer for Aurora Ave. Do you know anything about that?”
“Oh, yeah. The lead singer couldn’t make that show, so she was just subbing in. This is her project, Cherry Ferrari.”
“Wow. She was a substitute for that show?! She sounded amazing. So are you guys from Seattle, then?”
“Yeah, we’re from West Seattle. We’re students at Western, though.”
“No way. I have a lot of friends at Western.”
“What about you?”
“I’m from Port Townsend—I live just up the hill—but I go to UW.”
“You LIVE here? I’m jealous,” one of the girls said. She had gorgeous auburn curls.
“Yeah, it’s pretty great. We have a lot of festivals like this. I’m Julia, by the way.”
“I’m Quincy, and this is Moira,” the girl with the auburn hair revealed.
“Nice to meet you.”
As Quincy, Moira, and I continued to familiarize ourselves with one another, a voice from the crowd joined in.
“Sorry to eavesdrop, but I know the singer, Emma! We met when she performed at the Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP) Sound Off. I’m Sylvia.”
“Wow, everyone seems to know Miss Emma!” This was me.
“Here, I’ll introduce you if you want,” Sylvia said casually. She went up to Emma—THE Emma Wang, the overlap in the Venn diagrams between Aurora Ave, Cherry Ferrari, Fall Fling and THING Festival—and they embraced. I lied before: I think this was my biggest fangirl moment. As creative women of color, Emma and I had a lot in common; I could feel our interconnectedness. Perhaps she was the manifestation of my lofty musical aspirations. This made meeting her even more intimidating.
“Hi!” I chirped. “You were fantastic.” I explained how I’d seen her at UW, and it was so cool to see her again with her own musical group in my hometown, blah, blah, blah, classic fangirl stuff. We took a few pictures with Sylvia and some with just the two of us. She asked me about what it was like to live in Port Townsend and I gave her some recommendations of things to do here if she had the time. We exchanged social media platforms before saying goodbye.
As I walked away with my new friends Quincy, Moira, and Sylvia, I continued to marvel at Emma’s talent.
“Wow, I can’t believe it’s really her. I knew it! How old is she, anyway? Twenty?”
“Oh, she’s still in high school,” Sylvia said.
“You’re kidding. She’s so talented, and she looks a lot older.”
“Yeah, I don’t think she’s even applied to college yet.”
…
Fast forward a year and a half and Emma Wang is attending New York University to pursue her music career. How full circle is it that she reached out to me when she found out I was going to the Spring Fling to see Between Friends and wanted to meet up? A celebrity wanting to hang out with ME? We spent an hour texting back and forth catching up, and she told me she had a concert at Neumos on June 21st. I bought two tickets for my best friend Elio and me within minutes and told her I couldn’t wait to support her. Two shows ago, Emma had no idea who I was, but this time, she had someone to smile at and sing “Night Before” to in the front row.

The Ledge #588: New Releases (Pt. 1)
Once again, the music gods have put out so much great music these last few weeks that this month's new release show has to be split into two episodes! This week includes glorious returns from Lydia Loveless, The Exbats, Martin Zellar, Jim Jones All Stars, and many more.
But we also have a wonderful, heartfelt tribute to the late Justine Covault. "Sister In Crime" by Jay Allen and The Archcriminals takes a look back at a fabulous artist and label owner who tragically passed away earlier this summer. "This song is dedicated to the memory and written for one of my dearest and closest friends of the last 40 years, Justine Covault", Allen said in a statement. "She was an amazing woman, who meant a lot to so many people and we lost her way too soon. For me she was more than a friend, she was my most ardent supporter, not just in music, but in life, bandmate, roommate, and for the last 7 plus years my co-host along with Tom Baker in our monthly residency, The Mess-Around. Her impact on our little Rock ‘n’ Roll village here in Boston is immeasurable. Not just as an artist with her two bands, Justine and The Unclean and Justine’s Black Threads, but as a supporter, fan, promoter, and most importantly the founder of Red on Red Records, who in 3 short years created a multi-media home for many artists locally and from around the world."
We also have a last minute inclusion in tonight's show when it was announced that Ledge favorite Jeremy Porter and The Tucos have a new single coming out on October 28. The two track release is the tenth single in Jim Rinn's series of Detroit covers singles, and includes a remake of "While You Spiral" by Detroit power poppers The Waxwings.
As for this week's edition of "52 Weeks of Teenage Kicks", it's a recent bandcamp discovery of a single release by an Australian band called CrackWhore. The only info I could find about this band is from their bandcamp bio, "Dragged from the Collingwood sidewalk kicking and screaming, CrackWhore was (Still)Born 2002. Bred from the bowels of Melbourne, CrackWhore deliver nice and sleazy rock n roll." Sounds great to me!

There’s a nasally howl from the neighbour’s place. Izuku looks up – it’s the very loud, very blond guy living in the unit opposite. They’re technically in separate blocks but their balconies are close enough they can see into each other’s living rooms. He’s dancing around in his pyjamas. Yodelling at the top of his lungs off-key, swinging his Pomeranian around by the armpits like a furry ragdoll. “You’re a dog! You’re a fluffy little yellow dog and you’re a pain in the ass but you’re still my favourite shit-stain, yeah!”
Izuku bursts out laughing. The neighbour’s head whips around. He yelps when he sees him, tossing the dog on the couch and scrambling out of view to hide in the hall.
Izuku drops the watering can and runs back inside to find his phone.Small Might: Guys. I've decided i have a crush on my neighbour.

'The rules are simple. Battle of the Bands. Local bands send in a single track to the radio station, and ten tracks are selected. Over the coming month, the songs play on the station and listeners vote on the top five. The top 5 play a live concert as part of a music festival, then the top 3 at a larger, indoor venue. The top two have the honor of opening on the first stop of All Might’s retirement tour – here. In Izuku’s home town. And finally, the winner gets the ultimate prize. Getting to spend the rest of the tour, forty cities, across the country as All Might’s opener. Three months. Same tour bus. Shoulder to shoulder with the greatest musicians the world has ever known.'Izuku Midoriya is a broke college student presented with the opportunity of a lifetime. Mina pulled up a video of a young man, seemingly teen, dancing to a popular new hit, and Izuku felt his heart drop to his stomach. His skin prickled and felt clammy as he started sweating nervously, not daring to move or make a noise. His eyes were glued to the screen but he didn’t see anything – his brain was too busy going into overdrive and freaking out.
Because Mina was showing him a video of himself. The one he uploaded last night.
How on Earth did she find this? He had barely a few thousand views, he wasn’t popular, and it’s not like he was even any good, especially compared to her or Kacchan–
“That move was sexy as hell,” Kacchan said, and that was when Izuku realized that his childhood friend – his longtime crush – also leaned in to watch the video Mina was showing him.

"So after doing all that," Katsuki says, "you're just going to settle here? Tatting up wannabe bad boys?"
"You think all guys who have a lot of tattoos are wannabes?" Midoriya asks, so smoothly that it throws Katsuki.
"Wh—no, I mean—maybe!" Katsuki says. "You'd know best, wouldn't you? Are you a bad boy?"
The words are out of his mouth before he even realizes it, and he regrets them immediately. There's a figurative list of things that one should never do, and probably high up on it is asking dark-haired sailors with ocean green eyes and black swirls of ink all across their barely concealed muscles if they are bad boys.
--
Katsuki thinks he has everything he needs in life: a successful pet shop, an occasionally reliable assistant, and the unconditional love of the twenty puppies he’s raising for adoption. But when the tattoo parlor next door hires Midoriya Izuku, a hot sailor with an affinity for dogs, it makes Katsuki wonder if he might need something more.
Like… a piece of that ass. Maybe. He’s figuring it the hell out as he goes.

Greta Van Fleet One Shots: How You Meet
T/W: Mentions of a car wreck
Josh:
It was an unexpected turn of events, but Josh liked to refer to it as universal intervention. Every morning you walked ten minutes down the street to your favorite coffee shop to get something heavily caffeinated before holing yourself up in your art studio for the rest of the day. This morning activity had gone past routine a long time ago and had quickly become ritual. You had found out that walk was a great way for you to start your day for sculpting with clay.
One rainy fall morning right before Halloween, you were surprised to see four young guys milling around the coffee shop seeming to enjoy the atmosphere while they discussed various pieces of art from local artists lining the walls. A few of the pieces of photography were yours from when you visited the Grand Canyon a couple summers ago, but since then, your attention had been focused on pottery.
After a steaming latte was firmly secured in your hand and a hefty tip left for the baristas, you began to make your way back to the door as you planned out your day mentally. Before you could grab the door handle, one of the shorter guys from the group with curly hair quickly held the door for you with a breathtaking smile. You hadn’t been into photography in years, but you would’ve died on the spot to have captured that grin on camera.
You offered your thanks quickly as you your face was suddenly on fire. He had to of known you were staring, but what you didn’t know was the he had been staring since you entered the coffee shop.
“Hey! Wait! What’s your name,” the young man called after you as you stepped outside onto the sidewalk. The morning light made him squint his deep brown eyes as he stared at you, waiting on an answer.
“I’m y/n,” you answered shyly as you pushed a stray piece of hair out of your face and nearly slapped yourself when you realized you totally forgot to ask his. Before you could open your mouth, he had already beat you the punch and leaned back against the building with his arms crossed and a confident grin on his face.
“So, y/n....do you come here often?”
Danny:
The music was so loud that you were sure your head would burst. You could feel the beat of the music in your the center of your chest as you sipped on your drink. Your friend, y/f/n, was friends with a drummer for a pretty famous band and they extended an invitation to their house party to kick off their new album release. While you though Greta Van Fleet was a weird name for a rock n’ roll band, you did like their music.
Bob Seger blared through the house as you continued the search for your friend. The body heat from the crowd was coming off in waves and making you feel dizzy. You were just ready to leave, but you couldn’t leave your friend behind. A tap on your shoulder had you turning quickly coming face to face with a tall guy with long black hair who offered you a friendly smile.
“Hey! I’m Danny. I’m friend’s with y/f/n too! She’s been looking all over for you,” he yelled over the music as he pointed in the direction of your friend who was jumping up and down trying to get your attention. You and Danny laughed as some random guy with long hair and a pink shirt started doing the same thing to make fun of her.
“That’s Sam. He’s my best friend. It’s getting to be a bit much in here, so we’re all going to step out for a few minutes if you would like to join. Unfortunately, I don’t know everyone here tonight and I don’t want to leave you by yourself,” Danny yelled over the music with a kind look on his face.
“Yeah! That would be great! I was actually getting a bit overwhelmed, so I’m glad you’re here dude,” you shouted back as you placed your hand in the crook of his offered elbow. As you two made your way to the edge of the room where your friends were waiting, people stumbled over each other to get your way and were yelling and patting Danny on the back. A sudden realization ran through body as you felt your eyes widen at the idea that this was the Danny from Greta Van Fleet.
Sam:
You and Ronnie had been best friends for as long as you two could remember which meant her brothers annoyed you as much as they did her. Throughout your high school years, you honestly didn’t have a crush on any of them but found their friendship to be as irreplaceable as Ronnie’s.
Once they made their big debut, you didn’t see them often and you and Ronnie both attended different colleges. In fact, you had a once in a lifetime opportunity to study abroad and couldn’t pass it up.The miles between you and Ronnie didn’t matter and you talked every single day and normally face-timed too. Any updates on the boys came from her or Karen. You did miss hanging out in the garage on the weekends and playing pranks, but as the days turned into years, you didn’t think much more of it.
Finally, you were able to go home for a much needed visit after your year abroad and apparently, Ronnie and the boys would be home at the same time too. Quickly, you all made plans to hang out at the first possible moment and you were jittery with excitement on your flight back to US.
After taking a couple days to catch up on some much needed rest, you were finally able to go hang out at the Kiszka house. When you got there, you didn’t even knock on the door and waltzed straight into the living room like you had always done. Ronnie and the boys were sprawled all over the furniture with the exception of Danny who always preferred the floor. Hearing your entrance, Ronnie let out a scream as she lept over the back of the couch and literally sent you sprawling to the ground with her on top of you.
“Okay-Ronnie-Ronnie! Let go of my neck! I can’t breathe,” you croaked out as the only Kiszka girl finally loosened her death grip and helped you up. All the boys got up next to give you a quick hug, but you noticed one missing.
“Where’s Sammy,” you asked as your heard his feet hitting the steps on his way down. With a huge grin, he made his way over to get a hug, but you felt yourself swallow quickly as you willed yourself not to blush. Little Sammy had apparently grown up on tour and Sam was the one approaching you with his arms outstretched. Giving you a tight squeeze, you could smell his shampoo from his long hair and willed your heart to slow down.
You had never had a crush on any of Ronnie’s brothers, but that had quickly changed in less than a minute.
Jake:
The radio was still playing as you hung upside down in your car. Your seat belt was the only thing holding you in place. You could taste the blood in your mouth and salty tears and blood ran into your hairline. Adrenaline was pumping through your veins as you scanned your surroundings and tried to remember how you ended up in the current situation, but nothing immediately came to mind which made you cry harder. You were sobbing when you could hear voices drifting through the shattered windshield.
Despite the pain in your ribs and the tightness of the seat belt, you let out a blood curdling screech that ended in hiccups and sobs. A few moments later, you heard hurried footsteps and gravel crunching..
“Josh! Call 911!”
“Damn! How are we going to get her out? Should we move her?”
“I don’t know! Did anyone get that license plate? She was ran off the road!”
The voices blurred together and your eyes felt heavy. They began to flutter shut when a guy with long hair and a worried expression stuck his head in your car from the busted passenger side window.
“Hey! Stay awake! I know you’re tired, but you have to stay awake. What’s your name,” he asked gently as he wiggled into the car and grabbed on of your hands. The calluses were a drastic difference to your soft palms and he absentmindedly ran his thumb over the back of your hand.
“Y/n. It’s y/n,” you stuttered out.
“It’s nice to meet you. Help’s on the way, okay? I’m Jacob, but I go by Jake. I wish we had met in better circumstances, but you have super pretty eyes,” he said with a soft smile.
“I’m scared, Jake,” you said as a new flood of tears ran into your hairline.
“I know. I’m going to stay right here. You’re not alone. I promise,” Jake said with sincerity as he continued to comfort you.
On the verge of bleeding out, you honestly were wondering if he wasn’t your guardian angel.

hi :’’) i love ur blog so much!!!! can i request some random fluffy headcanons/lil scenarios of what a relationship with haruichi, ryou, and miyuki would be like? maybe childhood friend for miyuki only? ;v; i just feel like hes the type to go after his childhood friend lol
Falling for a childhood friend
⤷Includes: Ryousuke, Haruichi, Miyuki
Warnings: brief mentions of death, lil bit angsty
A/n: Hello lovely! It makes me so happy to hear you're enjoying the blog 🤧 I've already done dating hcs for both Ryou and Haruichi so I decided to include them in the falling for childhood friend req, I hope you don't mind! Also I don't know what happened with Miyooks, I threw in his mom as a small detail but then it turned slightly angsty
----------------------------------------------------------
Ryousuke
Please, Ryou has been introducing you as his s/o since he was 8 years old
You lived across the street from the Kominatos and being the same age as Ryou your parents set up play dates frequently when you were younger
Initially Ryou would tease you alot by tugging on your hair and occasionally shoving you
But when other kids on the street started to bully you and push you around like he did, Ryou defended you with his life
Only he was allowed to bully you 😤
One day he just casually asked you out while lying on the grass in his backyard
You were kids so you didn't fully understand relationships
You liked Ryou, he protected you and was kind so that was enough reasoning for you to accept
You were "dating" the last few years of elementary school
When you started junior high you were a bit confused on if your relationship was actually serious because it began from an innocent question on Ryousuke's part
Was he actually seriously considering you his s/o? Or was this just a silly thing the two of you had kept going for too long?
When you asked him this he looked at you like you'd grown two heads
"I asked you out didn't I?"
"Yes but we were barely 8 at the time. You couldn't have actually been serious."
"I wouldn't have asked if I wasn't serious. My feelings for you haven't changed, if anything I'm probably more in love with you now then I was then."
"O-Oh"
To prove his point he kissed you on the lips for the first time
(and then he made fun of how flustered you looked)
Anyways
When Ryou told you he was going to Seidou you were heart broken. You were already confirmed to attend a local highschool meaning he'd be in a completely different city from you for the next three years
The last thing Ryousuke wanted was to break up with you. You were probably the only person he had met that he considered as important as his family, it'd be even more painful for the both of you if he broke off your relationship before leaving
You eventually settled on calling each other every night to talk and then Video chat every other Saturday
Ryousuke would sneak off during dinner to avoid his teammates eavesdropping on your conversations
He ended up missing you alot more than he thought he would so he looks forward to your nightly calls all day
He's extremely happy whenever you take the train to Tokyo to watch one of his games
After the game he always meets up with you and sneaks away from the team so you could watch the next game together
He also looks for a secluded area to just hug you for 5 minutes straight because wOW did he miss being able to hold you!
Haruichi
Haruichi was so close with Ryou when they were younger and spent most of his free time following him around so the two of you most likely met at school
Haruichi wasn't the best at putting himself out there to make friends in elementary school. He was a bit too timid to approach anyone so he usually kept to himself or sat with his teacher when the class was given free time
Until one day you just sat down next to him and started talking
He was too shy to tell you to go away and he'd be lying if he said he didn't like having a friend to be with, so he let you pull him over to a different table to draw together
By the end of that day the two of you were inseparable
Haruichi was honestly sO excited to have a friend that wasn't one of Ryou's! Sweet boy went home and told his mom all about you
Fast forward to junior high and you're still best friends
It's actually during junior high that the two of you somehow get even closer as Ryou left to attend Seidou leaving Haruichi alone back home in Kanagawa
The two of you spent almost every free moment you had together and Haruichi started to find a different sort of comfort around you
He doesn't even know what triggered it, he just suddenly realized how cute you looked and ever since then his chest would get all tight and he'd have the constant feeling of butterflies in his stomach when around you
Ironically everyone thought the two of you were already a couple, including his parents who once asked how his date with you was to which he had to stutter out an explanation with a bright red face
In your finale year of junior high, Haruichi decided he had to confess at some point. The uncertainty of where he'd be going for highschool was hanging over him like a nasty rain cloud, and with how he was leaning more and more towards running off to Tokyo each day, he knew he couldn't just leave without telling you how he felt
So one day while the two of you were studying in his room he just couldn't hold it in anymore and told you everything
You immediately told him that you were harboring the same feelings he was and encouraged him to go peruse baseball at Seidou
It felt like a weight was lifted off his shoulders when you said that. He pulled you into a tight hug and hid his face in you shoulder as he muttered out thank yous
The day Haruichi left for Seidou you could tell he was torn between being disappointed about leaving you and being excited to open a new door of possibilities at the prestigious school
You sent him off with a kiss on the cheek promising to come visit sometime
What Haruichi didn't know is that your "visit" would be happening way sooner than he thought
A few months prior you had sent an application to Seidou and remarkably you were accepted!
Haruichi was significantly gloomy on the first day of classes. For the first time in over 10 years you wouldn't be sitting in the desk in front of his. He didn't think he'd feel so lonely this quickly, but here he was staring out the window desperately wishing you were here to ramble on about a videogame or what your mom had packed in your bento
The look on his face was priceless when you walked into his classroom and pulled a chair up to his desk like you'd usually do
"W-what are you doing here?!"
"I go to school here silly! Anyways, I started a show last night that we HAVE to watch together!"
Unsurprisingly the two of you were still attached at the hip while at Seidou
Although, Ryou seemed to find great pleasure in teasing the both of you now that you were in his proximity. He always took the time to send you knowing smiles or bops on the head when he passed the both of you in the halls
Miyuki
You lived relatively close to Miyuki but knew him more so due to the fact that your father worked at his dad's steel mill
When Miyuki's mom was still around she was always offering to watch you while you parents worked, so the two of you were kind of forced to become friends from your constant presence at his house
Those early days of friendship were spent in the kitchen with Miyuki gushing about baseball, pointing out cool plays and explaining the game to you while his mother cooked you both lunch
He'd also drag you and his mother to a park near by so the two of you could play catch together
(his mom would often have to remind him that sometimes you didn't want to play catch and to let you decide what the two of you should do)
When his mom died you slowly saw the effect it had on him
Miyuki lost the cheerful innocence he carried when he'd explain baseball games in his homes small kitchen. He became a little more closed off; a little less bright
There were days you would stop by to check in on him only to find Kazuya curled up on his bed clutching a scarf his mother had made him to his chest
He didn't cry, not once. Instead your friend became an empty vessel, a shell of what he formally was
Slowly his old cheery attitude would shine occasionally when making jokes or teasing you, a small crack in the calculative demeanor he kept up
Those small appearances of light-hearted behavior were your only reassurance he was still the same little boy you initially knew
Since his mothers death you took it upon yourself to be that little spark of light that seemed to have dimmed inside him
You pulled him to the park to play catch, encouraged him to continue being a catcher, you even helped manage your schools team so you could keep him company
You also became accustomed to carrying band-aids with you. Miyuki was a small kid for his age and had a habit of pissing off his upperclassmen which never ended well
When it came time to choose highschools Miyuki made it clear that you didn't have to follow him to Seidou to keep him company
He was going for baseball, making friends wasn't his top priority anyways
In the end you still went to Seidou with him (which secretly he was very grateful for, he felt better knowing you'd be there for him and vice versa)
I feel like Miyuki would unknowingly have had a crush on you for years but never realized it. He just played it off as you being his childhood friend
you knew him better than he knew himself so of course he'd feel this comforting love towards you!
Boy is his world turned upside down when Kuramochi asks him how long the two of you have been dating
He'd never considered seeing you in a romantic light but now the thoughts of holding you to his chest or kissing your nose WONT. LEAVE.
He becomes very awkward and goes through a mini crisis everytime he sees you
This would go on for a few weeks but everything seemed to peak after the summer tournament
You'd just gotten back with the rest of the managers and immediately went off to find Miyuki
He was in the dinning hall already watching their game against Inashiro when you found him. It was pretty late so the hall was empty asides from the two of you
When you walked over to him he just silently pulled you down to sit on his lap, propping his chin on your shoulder so he could continue reviewing the game. In return you ran your fingers through his hair
Kazuya would never admit he was upset with how the game turned out, but you could tell he was torn up from the outcome
Everything about this moment seemed to make his feelings boil over. He moved his head from your shoulder and stared you down
"I'm in love with you"
"About time you admitted it, dumbass!"
He pinched your side in retaliation, laughing as you slapped his hand away
And then he kissed you ♥️

Afternoon at the Skatepark
Reki x Reader x Langa
desc. You and the boys head to the skatepark to hang out after work
genre. Fun friendly fluff :D
warnings. nopee
word count. 1.6k
a/n: heyyy heh... back w another fic :3 i TOLD yall I would jump on Sk8 and write fics for it !! but alas, per tradition, I wrote this while sleep deprived and constantly doubting my writing so enjoy. if the ending or literally anything sounds weird blame it on me getting no sleep ever but also constantly being asleep
You listened to the occasional passing car, the sound of your own breathing, and the tapping of your foot louder. The quiet music playing in the shop began to annoy you as it started looping for about the third time during today’s shift. You had just finished wiping down the front counter, slowly rolling a tech deck back and forth with your fingers. You leaned your head on your other hand and sighed, looking up at the clock for the umpteenth time. Soon your shift would be over, and you could go home and relax. By the second you were starting to regret covering for your coworker’s shift.
You worked in a rather popular skate shop in town. You loved the aesthetic of the shop; posters, skateboards, and printed shirts lined the walls. You remember walking in on the first day and immediately falling in love. The owner was so happy to see how excited you were for work.
Smiling back at the memory, you did a little ollie on the desk, accidentally sending it flying when the front door swung open, fluffy bright auburn and baby blue hair immediately catching your eye. Their conversation immediately halted when Reki turned and made eye contact with you. You both paused, staring at each other, before he ran across the shop floor and almost jumped up on the counter, with the brightest eyes,
“I didn’t know you were working today!” he cried out at you,
“Ah! Yeah… I’m covering a coworker’s shift, she couldn’t make it…” you sheepishly rubbed the back of your neck when Langa stepped up,
“You look...really bored…” You just blinked up at him, slowly becoming embarrassingly flushed.
“Is your shift almost over?” Reki had sloped down against the counter, his fingers now playing with the tech deck. You nodded at his question.
“Yeah, I’ve been bored for hours and I can’t wait to leave” You sighed, and Reki jumped back up
“Hey! If your shift is just about over, why don’t you come with us to hang out afterward?”
“I don't…”
“It’ll be fun! Right, Langa?”
“...yeah, and besides… you could probably use it” He gave you a small smile that you couldn’t help but return. Reki was beating his fingers against the counter, waiting for your answer,
“Okay, okay sure yeah why not. You guys can hang out for about fifteen more minutes and then I can go grab my stuff from the back.” Reki started to cheer.
Reki pushed away from the counter and immediately went over to look at the boards. Langa watched the skateboard toy roll across the counter when Reki let go of it, and then turned to look around the store. He was looking around at all the colorful posters, graphic hoodies, and signed shirts from famous bands or skaters. He could definitely see why Reki kept going on and on about bringing him here.
“You know, Langa, you can put your bag down behind the counter so you don’t have to carry it around” You offered your hand out to him, and his eyes were stuck staring at your form. You cocked your head to the side when he didn’t answer, and he seemingly snapped out of it, his pale cheeks flushing,
“Sorry... And thank you” He handed you his shoulder bag and while you bent over to put it away, he fiddled with his fingers,
“Hey, I’m actually really excited to see you skate with us, I hope you can teach me something new or give me some tips” You jolted back up and Reki burst into a fit of laughter before coming back to lean on Langa’s shoulder,
“Ohoho! I almost forgot to mention!” You immediately tried to signal him to shut the hell up, but Reki being the little troublemaker he is, chose to ignore you,
“Our dear friend here doesn’t know how to skate!” You sighed. Yeah, you didn’t know how to skate. You worked in a skate shop and really loved your job, but you didn’t know how to skate. Your friends and coworkers always liked to tease you for it, and you always meant to learn, but never actually did.
You shrunk in on yourself, muddled in your embarrassment when Langa let out a small laugh,
“Yeah yeah, I get it, the girl who works in a skate shop doesn’t know how to stake. Big deal. You don't have to rub it in—”
“No no, that’s not why I’m laughing. I don't know how to skate either. Reki is teaching me”
“Wait, really?” he nods. “I never could have guessed!”
You two smiled at each other and Reki laughed again, before going back to admire the trucks on a board he had picked up off the shelf.
Once your shift ended, you and the boys headed out of the shop. You were headed to the local skatepark, but in the middle of explaining the plans, Reki and Langa’s stomach grumbled, so first, you were off to get some lunch.
After debating on what to get for lunch, and then debating what to order after Reki’s teasing, you guys had ended up at the skatepark. Reki did a quick stretch and quickly jumped on his board, climbing the quarter pipe effortlessly. You watched in awe, never able to understand how he could skate so easily. Langa pulled out his board and passed you, setting his things down before walking closer to the ramp. You followed him, and Reki offered you his hand. You reached for him, and he pulled you up, sitting pressed to his side while he hooked his board on the rim using the back wheels. Kicking his feet, he ponders to himself while Langa waits for him to speak up.
“Oh, oh! I know! How about you keep working on that practice routine I showed you yesterday, it’ll definitely help in your next beef!” Langa seemed to think it over a bit, before nodding and skating off to find more space.
“Routine…?” You ask,
“Mhmm! I’m trying to get him to learn more tricks and tactics so he can win more beefs at ‘S’. He can’t just keep taping his feet to the board if he means to keep skating.”
“Ohh, well he seems to be doing just fine!”
“He’s improved really fast, he doesn’t fall as much anymore—” Right when he said that, Langa let out a yelp and fell flat on his back, his board flying out from under him, “That being said, he still falls occasionally. Hey, Langa! Why don’t you come take a break and I’ll skate around for a bit?” Langa nodded and skated over to the quarter pipe while Reki stood, gliding down and heading towards the grind rails to practice his own tricks.
Langa took his spot next to you, leaning back and closing his eyes, taking in the nice weather. You turned to him and smiled,
“You’re getting really good! I don't know how you manage to ride it so easily even though you’re still learning”
Langa blinked at you silently, and sheepishly rubbed his neck,
“Thanks… You know I’m sure if you gave it a try you would be pretty good yourself.”
“Ahh! I appreciate the thought! But, I’ve already..kinda..attempted...In the past, and it just didn’t seem to work out in the past. I’m much more content providing you and Reki and people like you two with gear and good customer service..” Reki skated his way over.
“Nope! You’re trying again.”
“Wait wh— “
“Come on! Slide down!”
Langa gave you a gentle push, before sliding down the ramp himself and Reki pulled
you over by the hands to his board. You hesitantly put one foot on the board but you could feel your legs start to shake when you try to lift off the ground. Langa came up next to you and offered you his hand. Gripping it, you managed to stand on the board. He slowly tried to let your hands go so you could balance on your own, but once you were totally on your own you swung your arms around until finding balance. Actually standing on the board felt… weirdly nice. It wasn’t as scary as you first thought, especially after taking the initiative to start. You heard Reki call your name, snapping his fingers. He stood a good few feet in front of you, his arms outstretched, waiting to catch you,
“Well? Come on! Kick off the ground and push yourself over here”
“Reki I can’t—”
“Sure you can!” Like it didn’t even need to be said, Langa put his hand on the small of your back and slowly pushed you to give you a head start. That’s when you started losing your balance. You glided forward towards Reki on the board, and not knowing how to stop, you started shifting your weight and you heard Langa start to say something and turned to look at him when the board flew out from under your feet and you fell back into Reki’s arms. His arms hooked under yours, holding your top half up against him. Langa starts to panic, asking if you’re okay or hurt. For someone who gets hurt from learning to skate on the regular, he sure does worry when someone else gets hurt.
Your gaze just shifts between the two, one more worried than the other, but still worried. Your face cracks into a grin and you start laughing, pushing yourself up to stand properly in Reki’s hold. You grasp his hands in yours, and bring them up,
“Please teach me to skate!!”
The two boys stopped, their faces changing from concerned to confused, before lighting up. You had never seen them smile brighter.

Something with Sky and Warriors? I feel like they would get along pretty well
[Knights bonding and being friends is good, I concur that they’d be friends.]
Warning(s): This is super shippy, much more than I thought it would be. I put the ships in the tags just in case. Also, there's one part where a girl doesn't accept a no, but it gets shut down very quickly.
It was rare that they entered a town during a festival, especially with enough time in the day to fully appreciate it.
“Hey, old man,” Warriors had approached Time before they had fully entered the gateway to the thriving town, catching the sound of music and laughter on the air, “What do you say to a day or two of rest here? I think it’s not wrong of me to say that we’ve earned a bit of leisure time.”
Time caught on quickly, nodding to the guard standing nearby as they scrutinized the heavily armed group. He could see the brightly decorated lanterns strung up above the streets, could hear music and laughter further in and smell freshly baked treats. They had been on the road for days by now, and from the glimmer of excitement in the weary eyes of the group, it was clear that this was as good a time as any. Time turned to face the group, catching the satisfied smile on the captain’s face.
“It’s as good a time as any,” he began, the group halting in place at his voice, looking up at him with varying expressions of hopefulness and excitement. He smiled. “Go and enjoy yourselves but meet at the local Inn before nightfall.”
The resounding cheer caused Warriors to chuckle, and not even a second later Wild was leading the charge of Wind and Hyrule into the middle of the town. Twilight followed with a shake of his head and an amused smile of his own. Legend and Four had ducked away as the chaos began, taking a side street to explore. Time left him with a pat on his shoulder, leaving him with a weary Sky standing near the closest building, looking around to where the others had disappeared to. close to collapsing against it.
“Hey, you alright over there?”
“Yeah, just a bit tired of walking,” Sky shrugged, adjusting his sword strap as he approached, “Not really sure what to do either.”
“Well, my friend, you got stuck with the right person,” Warriors smiled, throwing an arm around the other’s shoulders, “Come on, let’s go find a place to sit nearer to the festival.”
Sky had no choice but to follow along, Warriors keeping a firm hold on his shoulder as he led the way through small crowds of people milling about. The music got louder as they approached the buildings closer to the center of the village, finding a small table close to the edge of the crowd. It was the perfect spot to watch the small group dancing near the fountain, a band of musicians nearby playing a merry tune.
“This is as good a spot as any,” he said, shoving Sky into a seat and taking the other across from him.
“And now we’re?”
“Watching the chaos unfold.”
Sky chuckled, turning to watch as the song ended. People were applauding the band, just as Wild ran through the crowd with a gaggle of children in hot pursuit, laughing and yelling the whole way. A few adults looked amused, carrying on with their enjoyment of the event. A village girl approached their table then, twirling a lock of hair between her fingers and keeping her eyes trained on Sky.
“Would you care to join me for a dance?”
Sky shook his head, but she was undeterred.
“Please? Just one dance and then I’ll leave you be.”
“I’m sorry miss, but he said no, did he not?”
The girl turned to Warriors then, a hint of annoyance under her smile. She stopped twirling her hair.
“What, is he gay or something? Is that why? Are you his boyfriend?”
Sky looked instantly uncomfortable, and Warriors’ gaze hardened.
“And if I am?”
The girl huffed, walking away into the crowd as the next song started up. Warriors shook his head, annoyed yet somewhat amused.
“Can you believe that girl? Who doesn’t understand what a no means?” He sighed, turning to see Sky looking down at his feet, “Are you alright?”
“Yeah, I think so,” Sky replied, fiddling with his glove, “You wouldn’t uh… no, never mind.”
“No come on, Sky, you can say what’s on your mind. I won’t say anything or judge you.”
His companion was quiet for a moment, then took a deep breath. He looked Warriors in the eye, his expression brave, yet fear lingered in his gaze.
“If I were uh… not entirely straight, would you think less of me?”
“Not at all, I believe I’m the same way when it comes to relationships,” Warriors smiled, hoping that it looked comforting, “Has someone caught your eye?”
Sky turned away fast, red creeping up his cheeks and the tips of his ears.
“W-well, uh, there’s Zelda- my Zelda anyway and-“
“Oh? And? More than one love interest, I see.”
Sky covered his face then, but he couldn’t conceal the blush that was growing on his face or muffle the surprisingly high-pitched exhale of air. He laughed, loudly, throwing his head back and smacking his leg with the force of it. He didn’t care if he drew the gaze of the villagers, it didn’t matter. Eventually, he breathed again, wheezing with tears in his eyes as he looked back to Sky, still hiding his face.
“So,” Warriors smirked, resting his face on his propped-up hand, “Who’s this other person who caught your attention?”
The response was muffled, but the captain didn’t muffle his amused response, chuckling and reaching over the table to pry the Skyloftian’s hands from his face.
“No, no, I wanna hear it. Please tell me?”
The hands dropped, revealing a very red-faced Sky. Warriors chuckled again, patting his hands.
“If you’re uncomfortable you don’t need to say, but I’m awfully curious about who would make you react like this to the mere thought of them.”
Sky made another high-pitched noise, shaking his head.
“N-not uncomfortable, I promise,” he managed to speak, he took a deep breath then looked back to Warriors long enough to make a decision, then look away again, “His name is Groose, okay?”
“Oh? And may I take a guess as to why you’re so embarrassed over this Groose person?”
A shy nod was all he needed, his grin growing into a near shit-eating one.
“Let’s see, I bet he’s tall and muscular. He acts all tough but he’s a softie, the reverse of you really,” He listed each off on each finger, looking over at Sky’s face each time and noticing how the blush seemed to grow, “He’s gotta be great at something that you admire, what is it?”
“He’s good at building stuff.”
The mumble was just audible enough, the lovestruck smile confirmation enough that he was smitten.
“He must be a good one then if you’re this way about him.”
Sky ducked slightly, smiling wide. Warriors was satisfied, crossing his arms with a smile as he watched the villagers dance. Then he felt a tap on his arm, looking over to see a very determined looking Sky.
“Your turn. Tell me who you like.”
“Oh boy,” Warriors was now the one looking down at his feet, mind a screaming mess, “heh heh, are you sure you really wanna hear about all the people I’ve been with?”
“I bet that’s a lie, you have a partner if not more, so spill. I embarrassed myself, now it’s your turn to be embarrassed.”
The captain covered his face, looking very unlike a commanding officer at that moment.
“Damn you and all you stand for,” he cursed, his companion laughing as he poked his arm.
“Say it, come on Captain, it’s time to accept your fate.”
“Fine!” Warriors tore his hands from his bright red face, “Impa and Volga! They’re both powerful and hot as fuck, are you happy?!”
The loud cackling next to him was answer enough and he huffed as Sky began to cough through the laughing fit. He reached over to rub the other’s back, making sure he didn’t choke on air. Once the wheezing subsided, Sky smiled wide.
“Look at us, being lovestruck fools together. Wonder if the others are as hopeless as we are?”
“Knowing our group, I bet they’re just as bad if not worse.”

Kara Danvers x Reader : Chose
Angst 20 -“ Don’t look at me like that.” “Like what?” “Like you still love me.” Fluff 2 -“ It’s you, it always has been.”
Genre: Bit of Angst w/ Fluff
Word Count: 1,419
* * * * * *
Wind brushes past you. You focus your senses on this feeling. Floating thousands of miles in the sky, the hum of the city below you, and the stars seeming to be in arms reach.
You take a deep breath in and smile softly.
Rao you love being able to fly.
The faint sound of a siren wailing catches your attention and you focus in on it. With a deep inhale, you shoot across the sky, releasing the breath as you do. In seconds you’re flying above the three police cars chasing a truck.
The situation becomes clear when the trucks back door is yanked open, two men standing in the back with rifles. As always they make the mistake of firing at you.
“You’d think they get it by now.” Her soft voice sounds from right beside you and somehow you’re heart flutters and breaks all over again.
Glancing over, you find blue eyes looking back at you, a soft smile on her pink lips.
Not having a reply for her, you clench your fist and address the threat.
Turns out they aren’t just a merry band of misfits. After they run out of normal bullets, they exchange their guns for some very high tech weapons.
Winn assists you two from the D.E.O, telling you all that the weapons’ power sources are definitely alien but nothing you can’t handle. They’re heat weapons and luckily neither yourself or Kara are effected by fire.
It takes a minute, but you eventually disarm them and stop the truck. You and Kara hang around a bit until the police have them squared away in their cars and the weapons confiscated.
“Another win for the super friends.” Winn exclaims as you and Kara walk in from the D.E.O’s balcony.
You lean against the table in the middle of the command center,“ we really need to get a source on these weapons. I know there’s a lot of alien tech that came from the debris of Fort Rozz but this is insane. Every bad guy has an alien weapon now.”
“She’s right,” J’onn comes in, Alex by his side as usual,“ someone must be selling them.”
“I can try tracing the heat sigs,” Winn spins around in his chair and types at lighting speed,“ they were pretty high levels so if someone is indeed selling them I should be able to pinpoint where they. . are.” It’s quiet for a second.“ Bingo!”
All eyes flick to the many monitors ahead.
Alex steps forward,“ they’re selling out shipping containers on the docks. Why there? The Fort Rozz crash site is right here in National City.”
You sigh,“ because local police forces don’t really bat too many eyelashes at high activity on the docks. It’s usual that there’s a large amount of equipment moving in and out of there. It’s likely they’d let some alien parts disguised as normal tech slide.”
J’onn is quick to get a team ready to go, sending you and Kara ahead as usual.
Tension is thick, even with the two of you in open air, flying above the city. It translates into your fighting.
Before, you and Kara fought together as if you were attachments of one another. No communication needed, you stopped threats without breaking a sweat. Now though, due to recent events that’s not the case. Even as you two talk, things get lost in communication.
Luckily with the help of the D.E.O. you neutralize the threat and secure the weapons. Instead of returning to the D.E.O, you check in with J’onn and head home.
Tonight is game night and you have to gather your thoughts before you end up sitting in Kara’s apartment for hours. Especially with everyone acting as if things are perfectly fine.
All of your friends are aware of the rift between you and Kara. They all knew about the reason for it but not the reason behind the reason. Not even you know the reason behind the reason.
You just know that the choice she made changed everything between you two. And that it hurt like hell.
By the time you have to arrive you’re feeling a little better mentally. Enough for you to at least act like being in Kara’s place is perfectly fine. You manage to get through two and a half games, laughing with everyone, and joking around.
That stops though when you catch Kara’s eyes. It’s clear she’d been looking at you for a minute now and the emotion in those pools of blue once again makes your heart pound and break.
“Excuse me guys.” You pat James’ shoulder and head over to the kitchen.
You can hear Kara excuse herself as well and walk over after you and you can feel her eyes on you as you pull her fridge open.
Turning back to the island, you sigh and catch her gaze, eyebrows pinching together,“ don’t look at me like that.”
“Like what?” Her head tilts just barely and the look remains.
“Like you still love me.”
Your words make her breath hitch. She gulps and taps nervously on the counter top, you know if she keeps it up she’s going to dig a substantial hole in the wood.
She speaks, voice wavering in the slightest,“ I do love you.”
A scoff falls from your lips,“ just not enough though right?” Her pained expression returns.“ Not more than you loved him.”
Her shoulders sag at your words. She doesn’t know how to tell you that’s not true because you have every right to believe it is. Kara knew full well that you loved(love) her and she admitted to loving you too. Yet and still she ended up dating Mon-El.
The decision to do so shocked everyone and broke you. While she doesn’t regret being with Mon-El, she has always loved you and always will.
“Y/n,” she rounds the corner to stand at your side,“ it was never about who I loved more.”
Eyebrows pinch together,“ so what was it exactly? Was I not as good as the Daxamite prince?”
“I never said that and I would never compare you and Mon-El.” Determination and honesty set in those big blue eyes.“ It’s you, it always has been.”
This time your shoulders drop, her words sinking in but still not making much sense seeing as that wasn’t the case before.“ Then why? Why choose him and not me?”
“I was scared okay.” Tears begin to well in both your eyes.“ Y/n, I didn’t want to ruin our friendship. What if we broke up or fought and we couldn’t fix it-”
“Kara we fought as friends. We went days without talking but we always worked through it, that’s how much we meant to each other. We always tried for each other. That wouldn’t have been any different if we dated.”
Both of you know your friends are listening. Even though you’re speaking quietly, they noticed how long you two had been gone and stopped talking to listen.
The blonde looks down ashamedly,“ I know that now, I just didn’t think about it then. But I’ve long since stopped being afraid.”
“Wh-” your gaze snaps up to hers,“ what’d you mean?”
“I mean,” taking a deep breath, she steps closer,“ if you’ll have me, I want there to be an us. More than there was before. Romantically I mean.” She rushes out the last bits and you chuckle.
She’s a little shocked when you raise your hand to cup her cheek. A smile of her own forming at the sight of yours.
Leaning forward, you rest your forehead against hers.“ You broke my heart pretty bad Danvers.”
“I promise I’ll fix it.”
With the breath of her words fanning your lips, you close the short distance. Lips meet in a long awaited kiss. The cheers of your friends behind you blocked out by the rush of feelings and warmth. How either of you had gone years without this is lost on you but so worth it.
“We are still playing a game you know.” J’onn is the first to break your moment up, shortly followed by teasing comments from everyone else, and calls to come back over.
Kara’s hand in yours, you both rejoin your friends. The tension no long there, the night continues smoothly. Laughter rings loud and surprisingly, none of you are pulled away by some alien threat.
It’s the first night in a long time that everything as perfect as possible.

[Previous Part] [Series Masterlist]
Washington D.C., 2009
(Reader POV)
Rossi’s dinner party would not be the last time Spencer had to drive your drunk ass home. It happened two or three in the two years since that night. Dave meant it when he said you were one of them. Whenever they went out for drinks after a case, you would get a text from one of the girls asking if you wanted to come. Your mom living a few blocks away from you was helpful because you just needed to drop Jamie off and head over to O’Keefe’s. You very rarely went overboard because you normally had to drive home, but tonight was not one of those nights.
The team had just gotten back from a local case in Bethesda, so Emily offered to pick you up on her way back. Hotch gave them all the rest of the night off after they made the arrest, but Spencer, always the workaholic, still wanted to finish up his paperwork before going out.
Your mom came to get Jamie and take him back to her house, so you were free to get all dressed up for a night on the town with your friends. You didn’t want to look too formal since most of them were still going to be in their work clothes, so you got out a cute green button-down blouse and tucked it into some high-waisted jeans. You put on your favorite locket and let your hair down. You went with a light makeup look, just brows, cheeks, and lashes. You were all set by the time Emily pulled up in front of your place. You strapped up your wedges and grabbed your purse, heading out the door, excited to see everyone after they’d been so busy.
“Hey! You look nice!”
“And you’re not so bad for fresh off a crime scene.”
“Should’ve seen me catch the guy, I looked amazing.”
“I’m sure you did, Em.”
Emily told you about the case, or rather just the ending. You only liked to hear her stories when they had happy endings. This one was pleasant enough, but you had a feeling that she was leaving some details out since it was apparently so bad that even Spencer would be tagging along for drinks.
When you got to the bar, Derek and Penelope were already sitting at a booth in the back with Aaron and Dave. Penelope hopped up from her seat to give you a hug as soon as you approached the table.
“Hey, there she is,” Morgan smiled over his beer.
“Reid’s not driving tonight?” Aaron asked.
“He texted me, he’s on his way, he wanted to finish his paperwork back at the precinct.”
“So what I’m hearing is you finally have time to tell us stories about Reid in high school,” Dave said with a smirk.
“No, come on, he’ll kill me,” you settled into the booth.
Emily snorted, “I’d be surprised if he even found it in him to be mad at you.”
“Oh, it’s happened before.” Your face scrunched up at the memory of what happened that day on the football field.
“Really?” Penelope seemed shocked.
“Yeah I’d… Rather not talk about it.” You didn’t know if Spencer had told the team about the Alexa Lisbon incident, so you didn’t want to talk about how he had been so angry with you for babying him.
“Oh, come on, the kid was in love with you,” Derek prodded, “What’d you do?”
You elected to ignore his comment, “No, it was just stupid.” You could still talk about Kyle, though. The team knew the story of how you’d met Spencer, they just didn’t know about how upset he was when he found out you got back together with Kyle just a few months after you dumped him.
“We love hearing about the stupid things you did!” Garcia squealed.
You stared at the table and fiddled with a napkin to avoid eye contact as you said, “I dated one of his bullies.”
Dave was the first to break the silence, “But Reid said you broke up with him when you found out.”
You bit your lip and hesitated before owning up to it, “Did he tell you that Kyle is Jamie’s dad?”
Emily gasped, “No way!”
“We barely spoke outside of tutoring after that between him being scared of Kyle and basketball season. We were both busy with our teams.”
“Reid played basketball?” Aaron asked, amused.
“He was the coach.” You managed to crack a slight smile, “Budget cuts. But, hey, it was for the best, that was our best season in years.”
“Hard to believe he could focus on strategy with you cheering from the sidelines.” Derek wiggled his eyebrows and took another sip of his beer.
You were quick to change the subject, “So is JJ coming?”
Emily shook her head, “She went home after the case cuz she missed Henry.”
“Oh that boy is the sweetest little thing, I miss when Jamie was that little.”
Aaron sipped his whiskey, “How old is he again?”
“Ten. I’m old, don’t remind me, it’s fucking me up.”
“Ah! Language, bella.”
“Sorry Dave. But speaking of getting effed up, I’ll go get the next round.” You stood and took everyone’s drink orders: Dave and Aaron were sharing an expensive bottle that Dave had already paid for, Emily wanted a martini, Derek just asked for another beer, while Penelope ordered the most elaborate cocktail on the menu, but luckily it was her usual, so you had it pretty much memorized by now.
You strolled up to the bar and gave the bartender the order, which he got right on. He started with giving you Derek’s beer, then Em’s martini, then your rum and coke, before getting to work on Penelope’s ridiculously fruity drink. An older man stalked into your field of view with a beer in his hand, grinning dumbly.
“What’s a girl like you doing in a place like this?”
You snorted, “Has that line ever worked?”
“Truth be told, I’ve never used it.”
“Well you don’t have a great success rate right now, bud.” You looked over the man’s shoulder and made eye contact with Penelope, who turned to Derek and gave him a heads up.
“Well let me buy you a drink, maybe it’ll work better the second time around.”
“Oh, no, thank y—”
“No, come on, what’s one drink?”
You grabbed the tray with everyone’s drinks and started to pass him, “I should really get back to my friends.”
“Hey, I won’t keep you long,” He caught you by the arm and the last thing you saw before he turned you to face him again was Penelope leaping up from her seat to let Derek through, “what are you drinking?”
“Babygirl, how long does a beer take?” Derek stepped up behind you and placed a delicate hand on the small of your back, “This guy bothering you, doll?”
The man dropped his hand from your arm, “We were just talking.”
“Really? ‘Cuz to me it seems like you were trying to put the moves on my girl.”
“Babe, it’s fine,” you caught on quickly, placing a hand on Derek’s chest to keep up the ruse of holding him back, “I’m just waiting for Pen’s drink.”
“Get the hell out of here, man.” Derek glares and the other man leaves reluctantly. “You okay?”
You nodded, “Thank you.”
“Hey, no problem, sweetheart.” He withdrew his hand from the small of your back, “Wouldn’t want Pretty Boy to get jealous.”
You felt your face heat up as your eyebrows knit together, feigning confusion.
“Oh, come on, Y/N, you can’t seriously tell me you don’t see it.”
You played dumb, “See what?”
He sips his beer, “You don’t need to be a profiler to see the way he looks at you, Y/N.”
“Oh, god, first my mother, now you too?”
“I’m serious, I’ve only seen him like this one other time.”
“When?”
“On a case a few years ago. There was this actress we were helping out, Lila Archer.”
“Lila Archer? The Lila Archer?”
“Yeah, she had a little crush on Reid for a bit. They made out once.”
“They what?”
He laughed, “What’re ya jealous?”
“No!” Maybe? “It just seems so unprofessional, I wouldn’t have pegged him for a guy who would--”
“Hook up with a movie star? Yeah, I didn’t think so either. It didn’t work out with them, obviously, he said she only felt that way about him because he saved her life.”
“What does this have to do with me?”
“Ever thought about how you protecting him his whole life may have had a similar effect?”
“Showing him basic human decency didn’t make him fall in love with me, Derek.”
“No, but saving his life did.”
“What do you mean?”
“I think that’s more of a question for Pretty Boy himself.” Derek nodded his chin over your shoulder. You followed his gaze and saw Spencer coming up behind you, grinning as he neared the bar.
“Hey.”
“Hey, haircut! Lookin’ good!” Your fingers laced through his shaggy locks and messed up his new boy band-esque style.
A faint blush spread across his cheeks as he fixed his hair, “T-Thanks.”
“When you lovebirds feel like talking to the rest of us, I’ll be at the table with the rest of the team.”
You roll your eyes and turn back to the lanky boy next to you, “Lemme buy you a drink, Spence.”
“Oh, no thank you. I’m driving. And also did you know--”
“You can just say you don’t want it.”
“No, I do. That’s the problem.”
Your face contorted with confusion until it suddenly clicked, “Oh… Has that ever been a problem for you before?”
“Not anymore, and not alcohol, but yeah.”
“Wait, Spence, why didn’t you tell me? I-I’m not mad, it’s your choice, obviously, but I could have helped.”
“You did.”
“I did?”
“Remember that one time I was too sick to talk on our Saturday call?”
“Yeah?”
“I had just gotten back from a case in New Orleans. Remember Ethan from school?”
You nodded, holding onto every word.
“He’s in a jazz band down there now. He talked me into getting help. When you called, I was at the lowest point of withdrawals, shaking so hard I couldn’t sleep, and completely alone. I almost didn’t pick up, but I knew you wouldn’t accept that,” he laughed nervously, “and when I heard your voice…”
He trailed off, finally meeting your eyes.
“When I said I wasn’t feeling well, you said ‘I’m putting Jamie down for the night, wanna hear his bedtime story?’”
You both found yourselves smiling slightly at the memory.
“Not once, during any book I’ve read, had I fallen asleep so easily as I did when you read me The Very Hungry Caterpillar.”
He took a deep breath, almost shuddering, “It was the first time I slept without nightmares since Tobias Hankle.”
You remembered that name. He’d come up in conversations from time to time but you never heard anything about his case. He was always a touchy subject for the team, and now you knew why.
“How long ago was this?”
“Almost three years ago.” He didn’t even have to think about it.
“Spence, you could have told me. You can tell me anything.”
“Anything?” He gulped.
You reached for his hand on the bar and felt it tense under your touch. You’d think after how long you’d known him his touch aversion wouldn’t be an issue with you anymore, but apparently not. Feeling your cheeks heat up, you withdrew your hand as if you burnt your hand on a hot stove and let out an awkward scoff, turning away to look back at your friends, who tried and failed miserably at making it look like they weren’t watching you and Spencer.
“We should…”
“Yeah… w-we should.” Spencer passed you and sat down next to Derek in the booth, leaving you in your usual spot next to Emily with your first of many drinks that night.
3 Hours Later
(Spencer’s POV)
I helped her into my car and buckled her up after she couldn’t find the seatbelt. When I got into the driver’s seat, I glanced at her to see if she was still conscious, only to see her dopey smile directed at me.
“What?” I laughed nervously.
“Nothing,” she slurred, dragging out the ‘ing’ and turning her head towards the window.
“You okay?”
She nodded and leaned her head against the glass as I pulled out of the parking lot. She was quiet for the most part during the drive, so I assumed she was asleep, so imagine my shock when she piped up as soon as I parked in front of her place.
“Can you walk me in?” she asked as if I could say no to her.
“Of course.” I was going to regardless. I helped her out of the car and she stood on wobbly legs. She groaned and looked at her feet.
“Hold this.” She shoved her purse into my arms and placed a hand on my shoulder and hopped up to take off one of her heels, tossing it onto her seat before repeating her actions on her other shoe. She grabbed the pair and marched up the path to her front door. I trailed close behind, just in case she stumbled, which she did.
She fumbled for her key when she suddenly remembered that I had her purse. I dug through the pockets and fished it out, tossing it to her once I got close enough. She instantly giggled as soon as I met her eyes.
“What’s so funny now?”
“Nothing, Spence,” she failed to stifle a smile as she tried to open the door, “You have nothing to worry about.”
I stepped in beside her, “Well you’ve been awfully quiet since we left and now you’re laughing at me!”
“I’m just thinking!”
“That can’t be good,” I joked, prompting her to lightly slap my arm, “Kidding! What are you thinking about?”
“Don’t worry about it!”
“No, now I’m curious!”
“Just something stupid Derek said before you came tonight.”
“Oh jeez, now I have to know.” She climbed up the staircase and down the hallway in front of her bedroom. She twisted the knob and pushed open the door. I stepped in after her and placed her purse down on the dresser. She flopped down on the bed, shuffling under the covers, not even bothering to change out of the clothes she wore to the bar. I grinned down at her. She looked like an angel snuggled up in the sheets.
“Comfy?”
“Very.”
“Good. Call me if you need anything, Y/N,” I started to walk towards the door.
“Did you have a crush on me in high school?”
I paused.
“W-Where’d you get that from?” Nice job, genius, that doesn’t sound guilty at all.
“That’s what Derek said.” She was now sitting up in bed.
Okay, but how did he know that?
“How did this come up exactly?”
She explained how the team was trying to get her to tell them embarrassing stories about me as a kid (sidenote: not cool, guys) and my dear old friend Kyle came up. She said that Morgan brought up transference, where a person experiences something traumatic and associates their “hero” with safety and feelings of relief after being helped.
“He said one girl you helped in a case had feelings for you and the way you explained transference to Derek sounded like you were speaking from experience.”
Great. This is what I get for only having friends on the team. My best guy friend is also a profiler who can read me like a book. Awesome.
I let out a deep sigh and sat down in the chair next to her bed, “I was.”
“Speaking from experience?”
“Yeah. Because that’s where it all started for me. A pretty girl told off one of my bullies and showed me basic human decency--”
“Aw, Spence, you thought I was pretty?” She teased, eliciting a chuckle from me.
“Of course I did. Y/N, you were the head cheerleader that came to me for help with chemistry and tousled my hair and bought me McDonald’s whenever our study sessions ran late. To twelve-year-old Spencer you were this perfect, unattainable princess--”
“Princess?” She giggled and it was the most beautiful sound I’d ever heard, “I like that.”
“Yep.” I laughed with her, “A princess who lived in a beautiful castle with posters on the walls and sparkly beads on the curtains and Doctor Who playing on the TV and a mom that always invited me to stay for dinner and I’m rambling again but that’s perfectly fine with you because you actually cared about what I had to say, especially when I would talk about Shakespeare because A Midsummer Night’s Dream was your favorite assigned reading and--” I stopped myself before it slipped out.
I love you. I’ve said it a million times to her in a million different ways but I knew at that moment that if I said the actual words that I wouldn’t be able to take them back, not that I would ever want to, I just want her to be present when I told her the first time. If I said it now it would be the first time she’d hear it from me and she wouldn’t even remember it when she woke up.
“And what?” She still smiled at me so brightly that the dimly lit room was lit up by the gleam in her eyes.
I smiled back, “You’re my best friend.”
Her grin somehow grew wider, her eyes scrunching up, but the sparkle was still there, “You’re my best friend too.”
If I hadn’t already decided against it, I would have said it then. I would have repeated those words over and over again until the words lost all meaning, only they never would because they felt like they meant the world to me. But I wouldn’t let myself start. Instead, I just looked at her like she was the moon and stars and all the space in between and said, “Goodnight, Y/N.”
“Spence, wait,” she murmured, further burying herself in her covers.
“What now?” I whined, the smile still present on my face.
“I think you’re pretty too.”
It had never been harder for me to resist the urge to kiss her than in that moment. Every fiber of my being screamed to sit back down, lean over her pillow, take her face in my hands, and crash my lips to hers. And for a split second, I thought I would. I almost did. I almost gave myself everything I had ever wanted for sixteen years, four months, and eleven days, but I couldn’t.
“And I think you’re drunk.”
“Spencer Reid!” She squealed, “Just cuz I’m drunk does not mean that you aren’t pretty!”
“Oh really?”
“Yep! ‘Cuz guess what, genius?”
“What?”
“I think you’re pretty when I’m sober, too.”
If I didn’t know any better I’d say she was trying to drive me insane. And you know what?
It was working.
While I was lost in my thoughts, no doubt staring at her, she let out a tiny yawn and snuggled deeper into her pillow. A piece of hair fell in front of her eyes, hooded yet still shining. I brushed the hair out of her face and told her to get some rest.
“Good idea. I’m sleepy,” she dragged out the e and yawned again, “Goodnight, Pretty Boy.”
“Goodnight, princess.” I chuckled softly. My fingers still lingered just behind her ear, so I stroked her hair once more and pressed a small kiss to her forehead once I was sure she was asleep. Her cheeks twitched in a barely conscious smile, making me grateful for my eidetic memory again. I went to the kitchen and took a glass from the cabinet, filling it up in the sink and placing it on the nightstand with some aspirin.
I took a sheet of some stationery and scrawled out a note for her in the morning:
Make sure you stay hydrated. There’s more aspirin in your cabinet but wait a few hours to take it. Call me if you need anything. -S.R.
The Next Morning
(Reader’s POV)
The coffee machine made too much noise. Your head was pounding despite the fact you took an aspirin a few minutes ago. Now you played the waiting game, hoping it would kick in soon. When the pot was finally done, you poured yourself a cup, hoping it would help wake you up. You normally wouldn’t drink coffee this late, but you needed it. Just as you took your first sip, your mom came through the front door with Jamie in tow carrying his pajamas in a shopping bag. He said good morning to you and ran upstairs to his room.
“Did you just wake up?”
“Yes.”
“Y/N, it’s almost noon.” You could hear the judgment in her voice.
You took a sip of coffee, “It’s 11:05.”
“I take it you had fun at O’Keefe’s last night?”
“Yeah,” you grumbled, rubbing your eyes.
“How’d you get home?”
“Spence drove me.”
Her eyes widened, excited. She lowered her voice to ask, “Is he still here?”
“Mom!” You whisper-yelled.
“I was just checking!”
“No, he’s not, he dropped me off and went home.” You decided to leave out the whole “putting you to bed” part.
“How’s your hangover?”
“Better with aspirin.”
“Have you been drinking water?”
“A little,” you lied.
“No more coffee until you finish a glass.” She took your mug and dumped its contents down the drain.
“Wh—” You start, “Mom, I’m not a kid.”
“Just drink your damn water.”
“Jesus,” you groan, still making your way to the stairs and heading up to your room, where your water had been put on your nightstand the night before. Under the glass was a note that you didn’t notice when you first woke up. You recognized the chicken scratch handwriting immediately: Spencer.
“Make sure you stay hydrated. There’s more aspirin in your cabinet but wait a few hours to take it. Call me if you need anything. -S.R.”
You smiled as you read the words over and over. You put the note down and took a sip from the glass. You reached over to your phone on the nightstand and dialed his number. It rang twice before Spencer’s voice crackled over the speaker, “Hey, how’re you feeling?”
“Better, thank you.”
“Of course. Did you drink the water I gave you last night?”
“Some of it.”
“Good, did you eat?”
“No.”
“I’m going on my lunch break in a bit, wanna meet up?”
Your heart fluttered at the offer, a small grin tugging at your lips. You nodded, unable to find words enthusiastic enough to express how much you’d like that, before settling on “Yeah! Sounds good!”
“Perfect! There’s a new thai place downtown I’ve been meaning to check out, how about there?”
“Sure! I’ll meet you at Quantico?”
“See you then!”
“Bye,” you all but sighed into the receiver before snapping out of it. You always tried to keep that part of you beneath the surface, but it wasn’t as easy as it used to be. You didn’t remember much from last night, but you did remember calling him pretty boy and making him blush. You remember him tucking you in and calling you princess and brushing your hair out of your eyes. You remembered how your chest swelled with light as he pressed his lips to your forehead, and the soft chuckle he let out seeing you smile against your pillow.
You hopped in the shower and got dressed, fixing yourself just enough to pass for a functioning adult who did not get sloppy drunk in front of her best friend’s coworkers last night. You told your mom you were going out for lunch, and she happily agreed to babysit for a few hours while you were with Spencer.
“Have fun on your date!”
“Not a date!” You almost couldn’t tell who you were talking to, her or you.
You got to Quantico about a half-hour later and were met by Dave in the bullpen.
“Oh, look who’s joined the land of the living!”
“Oh, come on, I wasn’t that bad last night. I could have been Penelope.”
“That is true, bella, but it was still a Thursday,” Dave chuckled, “The kid’s in Aaron’s office, he’ll be out in a sec.”
“Thank you,” you said and walked over to Spencer’s desk, sitting down in his chair and making small talk with Emily while you waited. A few minutes later, you saw him walk out of the office, eyes immediately landing on you.

Richard Speight Jr's speech at the All Heroes Monument in Tonawanda
A couple of articles in full in case you have trouble accessing the links without a VPN:
Article by Peter Gallivan
BUFFALO, N.Y. — On June 6th, 1944, Warren "Skip" Muck was one of hundreds of American servicemen who dropped into Normandy to force Adolf Hitler's army out of France and beat them back to Germany.
On January 10, 1944, the City of Tonawanda native was killed in a foxhole in Foy, Belgium at the Battle of the Bulge. For decades, his family back here in Western New York had few details about his service and the day he died. That all changed with a simple phone call according to his niece, Becky Krurnowski. Becky says her mother, Skip's sister, got off of a call back in 2001 with more questions than answers. "She said there's an actor trying to get a hold of me, and something with Tom Hanks. They want to make a movie."
As it turned out, the actor was Richard Speight, researching for his upcoming role in "A Band of Brothers." Becky and her sister began a series of emails back and forth with the actor, telling him stories of Skip growing up, such as the time he swam across the Niagara River. Speight then took the stories to the writers and all of the sudden what was a bit began to grow, and Skip Muck became a series regular.
Krurnowski adds that this 75th anniversary of the Normandy invasion will have special meaning to her, taking her back to the world premiere of "A Band of Brothers"— one she attended as a guest of the studio, on Omaha Beach, Normandy.
Krurnowski says until Episode 7, they had no idea exactly how Muck had died. It showed him sharing a foxhole with one of his best friends, Alex Penkala, when they took a direct hit from a German canon shell. Becky says her mom found comfort in knowing that Skip was with his men and with his friends when he lost his life.
Lou Michel article from the Buffalo News
Saluting 'unbelievable sacrifices' Monument honors local ties to "Saving Private Ryan" and "Band of Brothers"
As some area veterans know, the story lines of two epic movies about World War II - "Saving Private Ryan" and "Band of Brothers" -- center on two local families.
Now the memories of those World War II soldiers will be enshrined along the banks of the Niagara River in the City of Tonawanda.
That's because the four Niland brothers, whose story helped inspire "Saving Private Ryan," and Sgt. Warren H. "Skip" Muck, a central figure in "Band of Brothers," hailed from Tonawanda.
An Amherst couple, Rick and Lisa Lewis, donated $150,000 for the multistone monument to pay special tribute to the Nilands and Muck for their sacrifices.
"There will be one stone for each family, and etched on the stones will be the stories of the Niland brothers and Skip Muck," said Rick Lewis, whose family lived nearly a century in Tonawanda and became prominent when it owned the Talking Phone Book.
In the center of the veterans memorial plaza, which will be dedicated Saturday, will be a 10-foot-tall granite replica of the Washington Monument with a tribute to all other City of Tonawanda veterans from various wars.
"This will be in Niawanda Park directly behind City Hall, and at night it will be prominently illuminated, and I believe it will become a signature landmark for the City of Tonawanda," Lewis said.
The story about the Niland brothers is well known in some veteran circles.
On June 6, 1944, at the start of the Normandy invasion, Michael I. and Augusta Niland received the first of three telegrams that three of their four sons were missing in action. Two other telegrams soon followed, notifying the parents that two more sons were missing.
Their fourth son, Sgt. Frederick W. "Fritz" Niland, an Army paratrooper, was participating in the invasion.
War Department officials wasted no time ordering Fritz Niland out of the combat zone, once his whereabouts were determined. It was that effort that inspired the basic storyline of Steven Spielberg's 1998 movie starring Tom Hanks and Matt Damon.
The other Niland brothers were not as fortunate. Tech. Sgt. Robert J. Niland perished on the day of the invasion, and the next day, Lt. Preston T. Niland died. The third missing brother, Tech. Sgt. Edward F. Niland, was shot down over Burma and captured by the Japanese. He survived 11 months as a prisoner of war.
As for Muck, he became famous posthumously, with his story told in the best-selling book, "Band of Brothers," and later in the HBO cable network movie miniseries of the same name.
Muck was a member of Company E, 506th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, and one of about a dozen main characters. The story told of how the soldiers, first meeting in paratrooper school, became like a family.
"They banded together because they were up against so many hardships. That's why they called themselves the Band of Brothers. If any got injured, they would go to the hospital, get patched up and want to be back with their guys," said Becky Krurnowski, a 55-year-old niece of Muck.
In her City of Tonawanda home, she has a reminder of her uncle, who was killed Jan. 10, 1945, during the Battle of the Bulge.
"A million years ago, my mother gave me the American flag that had covered my uncle's coffin," Krurnowski said. "It's been in my family room for about 20 years now on display."
Adding a sense of irony, Lewis said, is the fact that Skip Muck and Fritz Niland were best friends before going off to war.
"The sacrifices made by the Muck and Niland families in Tonawanda are just unbelievable," said Thomas Beilein, a Niland family cousin and former sheriff of Niagara County who now serves as head of the State Commission on Correction.
"As children, we didn't hear stories about the sacrifices. The family never talked about it. They never held it out there for the world to see. They didn't wear it on their sleeve," said Beilein.
The monument will be officially unveiled at 11 a.m. Saturday with members of the Niland and Muck families present. Surviving members of the Band of Brothers, all around 90 years of age, are scheduled to travel here from different parts of the country to attend.
The actor who played Skip Muck, Richard Speight Jr., will also attend and speak at the dedication.
A military flyover and reception are also planned, and HBO has agreed to provide free showings of Band of Brothers after the ceremony in the nearby Riviera Theatre on Webster Street, North Tonawanda.
Pete Niland, son of the late Edward Niland, also is scheduled to speak at the ceremony.
"I'm going to especially thank Rick and Lisa Lewis, who are sponsoring this, and I'm going to make mention that this is an honor not only to our family but to all the Tonawanda families who sacrificed, and there were a number of them," said Niland.
Lewis said he and his wife have wanted to honor the two families for years and put a spotlight on the City of Tonawanda.
"The area has been very good to my family, and we're anxious to do some things for the community," said Lewis, who organized a special committee a year ago with City of Tonawanda Mayor Ronald Pilozzi and representatives from several veterans groups, including Post 264, American Legion.
Pilozzi, a Vietnam veteran who was awarded a Bronze Star with Valor and a Purple Heart, says he feels a special closeness for the monument.
"One of the reasons I'm so proud of it is I was in the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam," Pilozzi said, explaining that Muck and a Niland family member were in the 101st.
The 101st faced its toughest assignment during the Battle of Bastogne, one of the more famous encounters against the Germans during the Battle of the Bulge.
"The 101st Airborne was completely encircled and cut off by the Germans, but they made their stand and held out long enough for Gen. [George S.] Patton to come in and relieve them and basically defeat the Nazis," Pilozzi said of the division's bravery.
Describing himself as an amateur historian for the modest working-class City of Tonawanda, Lewis said the memorial will ensure that no one ever forgets the sacrifices and bravery demonstrated by the deceased relatives of the Niland and Muck families.
The City of Tonawanda has a tremendous history of which it can be very, very proud," he said. "I still have family members there and consider myself an amateur historian of the city."
The monument, Lewis explained, is designed with enough open space to add additional stones in the future, should Tonawanda want to honor other veterans.
The monument was chiseled and inscribed by Stone Art Memorial Co. of Lackawanna. The grayish colored granite was quarried in Maine.

hello lee :3 what r some of ur ocs like idk much abt them yet :00
yessss rai okay u read my mind lets go ily hehe >:-)
okay so ill talk abt my band ocs bc i have yet 2 do so and also i love them ^__^ and if u see similarities between them and mcr no u dont !
so theres like 5 of them, just these fucking dudes in a shitty little town in a shitty little band called wives and husbands. they're kind of known as like ''that local band'' and just play at rlly anything they can get, clubs or dumb venues anything yk yk. they have all the typical dreams of making it Big and Getting Out Of Here, and do they ever? who knows. if they do, they suck bc they never take anything seriously. theyve lied and messed with interviewers so bad that even they've forgotten some stuff. they love talking to people in the crowd and yelling back and forth with random people, but if a reporter comes in they like to play a game to see how much they can bullshit and how long it takes to get them to just give up. whoever gets the winning statement gets to pick a place to eat at that night. they have a few serious interviews tho, dw.
the lead singer is kai, he's this tiny little malewife guy w a dumb haircut and a bandana tied around his head, wears a lot of red, and has a big family. hes like. idk a middle child and loves his little siblings a lot, takes them out all the time. he always promises that if they make it big he'll take them to paris. he likes music like david bowie and probably has daddy issues, and sounds similar to think like.....kellin quinn or vic fuentes. when i first made him he would get rlly emotional while singing and often get too caught up in it and destroy instruments and it caused a lot of arguments between them bc gthat shit is expensive n idk if im gna stay w that, but i like the character development it cld lead to :-)
next is rei [pronounced ''ray'' i got her from some movie i watched w my sibling sorry it sounds like ur name tho sdlkfjs], she's kai's childhood friend, they live down the street from each other, she's the token weird girl love her. she plays rhythm guitar, and shes kind greasy and has a lot of shitty smudged makeup and her hair usually falls in her face and she probably has eaten anything you can find outside. she's kind of a menace playing guitar, jumps screams and rolls around a lot [think frank iero pro rev], but shes good. she kind of does backup vocals, but usually its just loud yelling. she lives w her dad and theyre okay. they have issues they dont talk abt but usually theyll just sit and watch movies together and not talk at all.
imani is their other friend met her when they were like 12 shes awsum <33 shes super tall like 6'7 and has big poofy hair that covers her eyes and big smile i love her :-(. she loves her friends too rei and kai are pretty short and she likes to lift them up or theyll hang off her arms and she wears platforms and all these cute boots so she's like even taller and she also wears a lot of pink, think sanrio :-). shes super nice, does actual backup vocals, and is the lead guitarist. i love drawing her hehe. her family has a little cafe that rei and kai always beg for free food [they usually get it], and her older brother usually hooks them up at venues and stuff.
okay and then alice my queen i love her. shes this tall goth girl with a spiky mullet and heavy freckles, she writes most of their songs and plays bass. she usually wears a leather jacket and big heavy boots, and she doesn't talk like at all. nothing personal they just doesnt have much to say. their voice is really monotone and kind of deep. her parents are big into church, whole family is, so they all look like this little 1920s family and its kinda weird. shes not really into it but goes to please her parents. she has two younger twin brothers that are just as weird. anyway, she met rei and kai through a job rei got and they kind of just harassed her until she said ugh fine. but she rlly does love them all hehe
okay last one this is so long imso sorry augh okay so now we have bear :-) their drummer :-) bear is also kind of quiet, but theyre more snarky and sarcastic, make a lot of snide comments but genuinely they are a nice person. they had bleached blondeish-white hair, and wear a lot of big boots, sweaters, and brown. they also have a van and since theyre the only one who even has a car theyre automatically the driver, and alice gets permanent shotgun bc theyre dating and if you take it bear will kick you. theyll sit anywhere they can and like exploring abandoned buildings
#OKAY IM DONE IM SO SORRY THIS IS SO LONG#asks#rai#thank u rai i love talking <3#i have a pinterest board 4 them if ur curious hehe#my ocs#wives and husbands#ill draw them all later so u can See them

hey !! i rly fucking love match ups so im here lol
i prefer guys, my prns are she/they, im 5'7/169cm, i have dark hair and eyes, and i love music, playing bass, studying, and i am an intj
i can be pretty shy at first and i love being friends w ppl who talk a lot so i can j sit and listen
hi!! thank you for requesting!! i match you with…
SEMI EITA
the way y’all are both musicians HNFNDJDNNDNF
so you actually go to shiratorizawa but you never blinked twice when semi passed you in the halls
at first, he was just another face in the crowd (especially since you weren’t really into volleyball)
but then!! you went to a local concert with some of your friends
AND U BUMPED INTO HIM IN THE CROWD
and you both were like!! oh!! i know you!!
so you guys stuck together the whole concert! enjoying the music and learning more about each other!!
then the next day at school you immediately found him so you could talk more about it!
once you guys ran out of bands to talk about, you asked more about each other’s lives :)
you started going to his games, sharing earbuds with him in class, and hanging out after school!
and one day he surprised you with a playlist!
you guys made each other playlists all the time so it wasn’t weird,
but when you looked at the titles of each song YOU REALIZED THAT HE WAS ASKING YOU OUT!!
it looked something like this:
SO OF COURSE YOURE FREAKING OUT
you decide to meet up with him right after you figured it out
and semi confirms that yes, he’s crazy about you and yes, he wants you to be his significant other 🥲
SO NOW YALL ARE DATING
even if he complains, he loves when you help him study! boring schoolwork can’t ruin time with you
he also loves listening to you play bass
he’s picking up guitar just so you guys can play together!
and he’s writing his first song!! and it’s about you!!
semi prefers to keep to himself too! so a lot of your dates are spent quietly in each other’s company :)
but the man can TALK
like if something happens in volleyball BOOM an hour long rant
which is perfect for you!!
now for your MBTIs!
semi is an ISTP
the key for a healthy relationship between you two is for you to give him his independence (which makes him feel appreciated and will help you guys bond) and for him to keep organization and dedication in mind!
but yeah y’all are cute asf 😫😫😫
—
moodboard:
he’s bored. there’s no other way to put it.
the combination of being separated from you and having to study drained him of all happiness.
he tapped his pencil against his textbook, trying to recreate the beat from a song stuck in his head. he had a test next period, the same one you were taking right now, hense the lack of your presence.
“semi!” a voice whispered sharply. he turned his head, spotting you as you made your way to his table in the library.
a grin quickly formed on his face as he ushered for you to sit down next to him.
“i thought you couldn’t come! how was your test?”
“it went pretty well, i think. my teacher let us out early.”
“and you’re using your extra time to help me?”
“of course,” you smiled warmly at him, offering him your other earbud which he took it happily.
—
songs for your matchup :)
thanks again for requesting! hope you enjoyed!!
