-ˋˏ WITHIN THESE CASTLE WALLS ˎˊ
SYNOPSIS. saving twins from getting killed who turn out to be rulers of the celestia kingdom isn’t part of the plan. neither is being instated as a member of the royal guard as their gratitude. with the alarming increase of assassinations, you’re wary of everyone in the castle. who is your ally or enemy, or who will be the one to capture your heart?
CHARACTERS. albedo, arataki itto, dainsleif, diluc, eula, jean, kaedehara kazuha, kaeya, kamisato ayato, sangonomiya kokomi, tartaglia, thoma, xiao, zhongli
CONTENT. gn!reader. royal au. fluff. 1.3k words. rewrite of within these castle walls [i] at my old main blog @/verxsyon. inspired by fire emblem: three houses. mentions of assassination attempts which many of them failed. assassination attempt (tartaglia). seduction (sangonomiya kokomi).
VERA. can't believe it's been two years since i wrote wtcw. time flies by really fast. i miss this series so much. will i rewrite for the other parts? no, because respectfully, they suck oof. initially, wtcw was supposed to be one part so here it is lol.
𝄞༉‧₊˚. ALBEDO
a noble descended from a lineage of alchemists. albedo prefers to stay at home to tend to his research and to avoid social interactions. in spite of believing that relationships are bothersome, he’s only interested in you. as an attempt to create a friendship, he brings you flowers which one of his books suggested. he becomes self-conscious that his efforts may not be sufficient, you appear happy when thanking him and complimenting his thoughtfulness. for a split second, an awkward smile graces upon his lips.
𝄞༉‧₊˚. ARATAKI ITTO
a mercenary of oni blood. infamous in his hometown for causing trouble with the authorities with his gang. itto is a popular figure because of his “dashing” looks and abrasiveness. his overconfidence is one reason why you can’t stand him. you never met someone this unbearable. he always disturbs your training by challenging you to a duel, lots of them. comes determined to win the match, but loses every single time. perhaps you’ll indulge him once more, just to see what happens when he finally will be victorious.
𝄞༉‧₊˚. DAINSLEIF
captain of the royal guard and royal advisor to the throne. assassination threats have been circulating throughout the kingdom, so he constantly puts his guard up even though you saved the twins. it’s the fact that they trust a complete stranger with battle experience who can kill them any time. nevertheless, he takes you under his wing in accordance with their wishes. his paranoia is understandable, but you believe he’s too harsh on you. he assigns you extra work to prove your worth as an asset. you hope you’ll survive the initiation process.
𝄞༉‧₊˚. DILUC
head of house ragnvindr, tycoons of the wine industry. everyone swoons over the flame-haired man. one of the girls at the flower shop can’t stop talking about diluc like a knight in shining armor. your opinion of him is that you don’t get the hype. politics are supposedly not that important to him, but it’s a whole different story when the royal guard is involved, opposing their operations. it’s suspicious that his comments align with a vigilante who wears a ridiculous costume at night. for sure, you think he deserves respect to protect the place called home.
𝄞༉‧₊˚. EULA
exiled daughter of house lawrence, the clan with a tarnished reputation. the twins are gracious enough to grant eula a position of a royal soldier, upsetting the majority of citizens. you admire her dissociation with her clan’s history, wishing everyone sees her past that. she doesn’t deserve hate for something that is beyond her control. you want to befriend her, but her sense of humor is unique in a way that it kind of gives you chills down your spine. if it makes you feel any better, she likes you for seeing her as herself.
𝄞༉‧₊˚. JEAN
head of house gunnhildr. jean dedicates her life to serve the kingdom, to the point where she tends to overwork. more worried about the state of the state more than her own health, she doesn’t know how to reconnect with her younger sister and what romance feels like out of the romance novels she reads. as someone who spends most of their life in one place, you sympathize with her, therefore offering to solve her dilemma. after all, both of you need breaks from interfering with assassinations. she is confused as to why she feels warm when you’re around.
𝄞༉‧₊˚. KAEDEHARA KAZUHA
a former refugee from an insular empire. upon entering the kingdom a few years ago, kazuha was thought to be an assassin which he of course got arrested for, but was pardoned and given the option to live here and serve the crown. in the present, he patrols the seas to fend off intruders. at the end of the shift, he disappears from his crew just to find you. his captain knows that he is smitten with the soldier who was trained as a mercenary. the poems he recites at sea are essentially confession letters in hopes to make you his one day.
𝄞༉‧₊˚. KAEYA
a fellow royal soldier adopted into house ragnvindr. the elderly consider kaeya like their own grandson, but he is so far from angelic. he misleads patrollers to another direction of the crimes and dodges your questions regarding his whereabouts. the citizens might be involved in his antics, avoiding eye contact with you whenever you mention him. apparently, you’re dense, failing to notice the signs of him trying to make a move on you. he’s been doing those things to make you pay attention to him and have you all to himself in private.
𝄞༉‧₊˚. KAMISATO AYATO
head of house kamisato. responsible for managing external affairs, ayato is required to travel, always away for business. although it’s said he goes on trips most of the time, his appearance is a mystery. rumored to be tall with blue hair and a mole near his mouth, everyone joins in the hunt to find him at the royal party, sending his sister and retainer in a frenzy to protect his identity. your dance partner fits the description to a t. when the guests discover that you were dancing with the commissioner, your partner kisses your hand and whisks away into the night.
𝄞༉‧₊˚. SANGONOMIYA KOKOMI
head of house sangonomiya. kokomi is also its military strategist. having the ability to foresee the tactics and its outcomes of another army, she is a force to be reckoned with and a valuable ally to the crown. you had the pleasure of being invited to her guest room, where she was waiting for you in an extremely thin nightgown. not the type to show emotions, it’s rare to see her amused, and she beckons you to come inside. not only is she well-versed in the art of war, she’s surprisingly an expert in the art of seduction as well.
𝄞༉‧₊˚. TARTAGLIA
a diplomat from a neighboring kingdom, or so he claims to be. there is something about childe that sets him apart from the other diplomats who visited the kingdom. your first encounter with him is not pleasant. a mutual distrust forms between the two of you, yet the space you both share is tense. one night with crazed eyes and a knife at your neck, he reveals that he was assigned to assassinate the twins. you’re in the way, but oddly enough, he doesn’t want to hurt you. it seems like he’s doing this against his will, or it’s the tension talking.
𝄞༉‧₊˚. THOMA
retainer of house kamisato. thoma is a fan favorite among the royal staff by being the type of servant they needed. honestly, you don’t like him. but you don’t dislike him either. the epitome of perfection, but too perfect for your taste. he’s also too nice for his own good, hearing him apologize things he isn’t at fault for and saying yes to all requests from the staff. as he serves a clan full of swordsmen, he knows how to fight. so when you unleash a surprise attack on him, he doesn’t retaliate. it reminds him of a similar incident in the past that changed his life for the worse.
𝄞༉‧₊˚. XIAO
a deity sworn to protect the kingdom centuries ago as a promise to one draconic god. xiao finds humans strange, but you’re even stranger, as a child who fought against a beast by yourself in the forest, accidentally fulfilling a commission for a mercenary group who struggled to kill it for months. he despises crowds, but decides to pose as a royal soldier to meet you. when you encounter a dangerous creature during your patrol, he comes to your rescue. then he whispers into your ear to call his name in times of desperation before disappearing into thin air.
𝄞༉‧₊˚. ZHONGLI
a knowledgeable historian. zhongli is friendly and enjoys having casual conversations over tea. there isn’t anyone within the castle who has not been invited to his corner of the library. you have been there as a regular you already lost count. from those meetings, you track his mesmerizing amber eyes. you swear that you’ve seen them in some history books of a draconic deity who once presided over this kingdom. it’s impossible, as higher beings perished during the cataclysm, but the glint in his eyes says otherwise.

𝖘𝖈𝖆𝖗𝖇𝖔𝖗𝖔𝖚𝖌𝖍 𝖋𝖆𝖎𝖗/𝖈𝖆𝖓𝖙𝖎𝖈𝖑𝖊 [Yandere Prince!Scaramouche/Reader]
A/n: After reading so many tyrant otome isekai manhwas, I thought I should give writing one a try... This story ended up being a bit more “real”(?) than OI. And I forgot the isekai part LOL. Love this fic a lot because the (L/n) family says the most banger lines. They spitting facts. Anyways, welcome to another throwaway-thursday, enjoy this one, @vennnnn-diagram because... lol.
Unreliable Synopsis: Exiled in Watatsumi island after publishing two anti-colonial novels outside their homeland, the famous reformist writer and physician (L/n) (Y/n) faces several familial deaths— and it all leads back to one man...
Content Warnings/Tags: Yandere themes, mentions of miscarriage (note: this is because this is very loosely based on a real life hero's biography), "lovers" to enemies, angst, character deaths, church corruption, politics, etc. Prioritize your mental health. The fic is meant to be a bit dark. You can listen to this song for the vibes 💖
"Are you going to Watatsumi Fair, Niwa?"
"Well, of course! The Lector works hard to make sure it's grander each year."
"Our Lector… I hope (L/n) is doing alright. It must be incredibly heartbreaking to lose a newborn son under three hours…"
"Indeed…"
It’s the 19th century and the streets chatter on about the upcoming festival. Seri, mitsuba, yomogi, and shiso— murmurs of food and spices exchanged at the Watatsumi Fair circulated. However, these four wonderful things wouldn't be there without a certain exile transforming the island into a thriving island: Lector (Y/n) (L/n).
Prince Kunikuzushi's most esteemed “rival”.
You were an exemplary philosopher and ophthalmologist who published two novels abroad that reflected Inazuma's social issues and military abuses. Of course, you were born in a noble clan. Only the wealthy can study outside Ritou and attain higher education beyond the basic arithmetic and religion Inazuman Colonizers gatekept your people with. You were slaves.
But these colonizers feared educated colonies would demand rights; hence, after publishing those eye-opening novels, you became Public Enemy #1. Charges against you were not absolved, but Inazumans could not execute you upon arrival. You were not a revolutionary, but a pacifist reformist. You made the government and clergy's behavior known worldwide, hence the military banished you to Watatsumi— another Inazuman colony and barren land.
Assured that you've done nothing wrong, you stayed in Watatsumi. With nothing but your firm beliefs, your days of exile were your most productive. Using your skills as a physician and some wits on land surveying, you've improved Watatsumi’s quality of life in under 6 months.
You're far from home with little spare change, yet you provided medicina gratis. With you, you’ve helped open the people’s eyes.
You lived under the scrutinizing eyes of the Queen, yet you erected streetlights in each dark street. With you, you’ve helped the people see in this dark age.
And most importantly, you have established Watatsumi's first school.
With you, the people understood the truth of their situation: they had been living under a tyrant’s rule for the past few decades.
And all you asked in return was for the people to help you in your ventures to improve the island's agriculture and spices.
How can the people of Watatsumi not love you for this martyrdom?
“(L/n) is organizing a secret rebellion association planning to overthrow the government”. That was the Queen’s grounds for exile, including false testimonial and documentary evidence. It was obvious that your books were in strong opposition to the current Inazuman Government.
Hence, Archbishop Sangonomiya Umiko was incredibly fond of you.
"I still believe I am innocent of the crime of rebellion, illegal association, and sedition. All I did was publish two novels!" You hummed. "When the Shogun calls for my execution— and she will— do immediately ask for my body. They will likely throw it wherever they please. Worse, Kunikuzushi might use me as his doormat."
The Archbishop laughed. "I can see that. His Highness does fit that character."
You and Umiko sat far from the festivities. Sangonomiya Umiko was neither friend nor foe. She is the current leader of Watatsumi Island, but she is restricted by the commands of the Queen and her children. Umiko cannot even preach about her true faith, hiding her birthright as the Divine Priestess and instead donning the title foreign title of Archbishop. Even with friendly demeanors, there’s an unmistakable grim air on both your faces.
No passerby would mistake this meeting as a romantic date. You have a wonderful spouse waiting home, appearing as crest-fallen as you do now.
… But "Spouse" is a rather loose term. You and your partner were forbidden to have a wedding. Prince Kunikuzushi would not allow an exile to marry and no priest would disobey him. Hence, you and your lover decided to merely promise to the God you believe in that you'll remain loyal to one another. That faith and loyalty brought about a prematurely birthed child— who only had three hours to live until his breath was cruelly stripped away…
And historians would attribute your son’s death as a cause for your morbid obsession with your own future execution.
"Kunikuzushi is a personification of what's wrong with the Inazuman Empire," you said casually. "He will be the core of what causes the revolution, not I."
Umiko did not miss the way you addressed the Prince. You spoke without honorifics, an aspect in both Watatsumi and Inazuma's language that is evident in everyday conversations. Most revolutionists emphasize his high station with hatred. You emit those titles and call him by name.
As though it was a habit.
As though you were once friends and more.
"Lector (Y/n), do watch your tongue," she shook her head. "The walls have ears."
"And what if the walls have eyes and ears? They shall see and hear my innocence." You sipped your tea before you snapped your fingers with a grin. "Oh, and do me one last favor. When they'll let me face my executioners, armed with polished guns and a shoveled ground:"
"Only the guilty are shot in the back. Let me face the firing squad and spare my head so that I may die facing the heavens."
A glimpse of (h/c) hair ran past in the streets of Inazuma City, carrying a child in his arms. The child was injured but otherwise “fine”— as fine as children could be amidst the rains of ashy woods and turbulent fires. The city capital reeked of gunpowder and a nauseating metallic scent. The (h/c) haired man may not have any blood relations to the person whom they’re protecting, nor does he know her name, but he held onto the 8-year-old dearly.
Despite the chaos that surrounded him, your older brother cannot help but think of one hopeful thought:
With the recent loss of (Y/n)’s son, maybe they’d be willing to adopt this little girl as my new niece?
But all that ended abruptly when a loud voice resonated throughout the streets.
“DON’T LET A SINGLE ONE OF THEM ESCAPE. NO SURVIVORS!”
Prince Kunikuzushi stood proud in the middle of it all. With calm finesse, he ordered the generals to order their soldiers to kill without a hint of remorse. His eyes were dull. All he knew was that his mother wished for the death of revolutionaries hiding in the capital. Whether these rumors were falsehoods or not, the Queen did not care. Fear is the family’s greatest weapon, bloodshed is nothing to them.
Death is nothing for a mother's puppet like him.
The Prince truly didn't have any care for this war. He's only following orders under the reward that he'll be able to have you. It was the Queen's promise, and she had always been relentless in any pursuit of honor and glory.
In return for his familial services, Queen Ei might consider his proposal. The royal family dreaded the death of their former matriarch, Makoto, and the prince showed no attraction to any of his valid consorts. Should he show loyalty to the end, the Queen will allow him to marry anyone to his liking.
That's why he's putting up with this.
He looked at the horizon, seeing nothing but fire instead of the deep ocean.
Why did Watatsumi have to be so far away?
Why did you have to be a sea away?
As fate would have it, a young soldier spotted the two. A hunt between two red-tagged innocent civilians and a greenhorn murderer commenced. Limping slightly, your brother attempted to push down restaurant chairs and other outside furniture in hopes he’d lose track of them.
The soldier did not know that the person he was tracking was your older brother.
Had he known, he would’ve left him alone.
And as much as fortune favors the bold, it was not on your sibling’s side.
The soldier fired his first reckless shot and hit its target.
Your brother stumbled, holding his stomach. He gasped, coughing as he subconsciously let the child go. But he did not fear for his life, but hers. He knew that the child was asleep on a park bench when the horns rang for danger. She was homeless with nothing but bedclothes and a short makeshift blanket, and now she’ll be forced to witness a traumatizing scene.
Poor child… You must be frightened…
I hope…
Your brother remains adamant that the child must live, even as the barrel of the enemy's rifle is pointed at his chest. A look of stern determination, mixed with fear, can be seen in his eyes as he stands his ground despite the threat of death.
That (Y/n) will raise you right…
“S-Scaramouche’s crown's resplendent band shows no natural light. The ocean's glimmer elucidates more hope than your vile scarlet battalions could ever hope for!!!” Your older brother yelled, weakly hiding the child behind him.
The soldier cocked the barrel against his forehead.
“There is no emprise to plundering, to murder and genocide—” he continued, coughing blood at the corner of his lips. “You will all be remembered in history as those who had foolishly paraded without genius. Death has a more ambrosial scent than a life of servitude under your heels.”
SHOT!!!
…
…
“M-Mister?... M-Mister?! MISTER!!!”
The child screamed as your brother fell to the ground. With the remaining humanity the young soldier clung to, he turned a blind eye towards the little one crying silvery tears. Truth be told, the new soldier himself had forgotten what it was he was fighting for. What was the point in this death, this pain, if not to harm both sides? But a good soldier does not question his orders and he leaves the child without a word.
She did not know his name. She did not know his status as a (L/n). She did not know he was the older brother of the famous physician (Y/n) (L/n). She did not know he was a martyr way before his true death.
But she still held his corpse with abandon. His body heat was slowly growing cold. Though her stature was short and small, her tears were heavier than her heart could manage.
(L/n)s may meet horrid ends, but Fate grants you all one last wish.
You all have the privilege of dying whilst facing the heavens, and that is the final honor your brother can carry with him in his passing.
“My dear, a letter arrived,” your spouse spoke. “It came from your mother…”
It was deep into the night and you had just fixed yourself up for bed, but you’re not one to turn down letters. Perhaps your old friend from Opera Epiclese had sent you a reply? Igniting the nearby lamp, you lovingly kissed their hand before taking the letter.
“Thank you, love,” you cooed. “I’ll surely be writing a letter back, so why don’t you rest before me? I shall accompany you later.”
Leaving them with a blush, you shut the door behind you. Despite the struggles in your relationship, your love for your gorgeous spouse will never disappear over the unplanned loss of your first child.
Unlike Kunikuzushi’s…
You entered the living room and closed the door behind you. A wise decision, given the contents that were about to crush the little mental stability you had left.
“My Dearest (Y/n), It is with a heavy heart and trembling hand that I take quill to convey news that no mother should ever have to write down. As I write these words, tears splotch the paper, and each stroke of the pen is a painful reminder of the sorrow that has befallen our clan. My dearest child, it grieves me beyond measure to inform you that your beloved older brother, (B/n), has departed from this world. The weight of this solemn news rests heavily upon my shoulders, and the burden is almost too much to bear. The tragedy unfolded in the heart of the capital, where (B/n), in an act of unparalleled heroics, sacrificed his own life to save that of a young girl during a merciless ambush. His valor shone through, but the cost is another pain you must bear after the death of your own child. Oh, my (Y/n), the pain is unbearable. I wish I could shield you from this heart-wrenching truth, but I believe in your resilience. The thought that you are in exile, far from my comforting embrace, only adds bitterness to my heart. The cruel hand of fate has robbed you of the chance to bid a final farewell to your dear brother, to stand beside his resting place and pay tribute to his funeral. The distance that separates Ritou and Watatsumi feels insurmountable, and I ache at the thought of your solitary grief. I hope your spouse shall accompany you in these troubled times. In these dark hours, know that you are not alone in grief. Though separated, we mourn the loss of a beloved son and brother, the heir of the (L/n) clan. May time and the tender embrace of cherished memories bring some measure of peace to your soul. With all the love a grieving heart can muster, Mother”
As the ink on your mother's heartbreaking letter crumpled with sorrow in your heavy trembling grip, a weighted silence filled the room. The words she penned— each a painful jab to your psyche— threatened to spill tears you've fought so desperately to hold back for weeks since you didn’t want your spouse to worry.
Before you can succumb to weeping on the floor with a contorted expression and writhing body, the door opens, disrupting your peace.
Prince Kunikuzushi, adorned with his mother’s feather and opulent regalia, strode into your humble abode with an irritating aura of entitlement. His presence, a stark contrast to the mourning atmosphere, successfully transformed your grief into weaponized spite.
"Still holding another Watatsumi Fair, are we?" he sneered, disdain dripping in every word. The callousness in his eyes and “indifference” to your mourning made the air all the more sharper.
“Why are you here, Your Highness?” You spat out. “Had your clow— soldiers failed to entertain you?”
“They are nearly as boring as your spouse in bed.” He snarled. “And I wager that their lives last longer than they do.”
You bit your tongue. Your spouse had made an effort to teach you not to reply to any insult he had towards them, and you had done decently enough to honor their wishes by merely scowling at the royal instead of equipping any nearby blunt weapon.
“Allow me to ask again,” you forced yourself to be cordial. “What are you doing here, Kunikuzushi?”
The prince clicked his tongue.
“Do I not have the authority to visit you?”
“You do,” you said. “But you do not have the right to barge in as you please, much like how Lord Hiroshi shouldn’t have decided to conquer my homeland Ritou and decide to claim it as Inazuman property for your mother’s ever-so-eternal happiness.”
“He was only claiming what is rightfully ours.”
Prince Kunikuzushi looked over at your bedroom door. You took large steps forward, blocking his way. You won’t allow him to disturb your lover’s good night’s rest.
He frowned.
"You should have been mine," he muttered softly.
You hated this about Kunikuzushi the most. He speaks with audacity that knows no bounds as he criticizes your spouse, but would sound the most pure when addressing his own emotions. “You should’ve said yes. You should’ve ruled these nations with me, and more. But you threw it all away and for what? Fragile patriotism? You are defending an island that will suffer the same fate as your beloved Ritou.”
In the eye of this tempest, your mother’s burning words fuels a fire that burns brighter than any royal decree.
"You speak of love and marriages," you seethed, voice cutting through the tension, "but you know nothing of the bonds that truly matter."
…
…
…
As the realization dawns upon him, his arrogance wavered.
He had not realized early on that news about your brother’s death had reached you already.
"An accident," he stammered, attempting to deflect blame. "If I knew, I would have spared him in that ambush. I’m not an All-Knowing God, so it’s genuinely just an accident."
With a chilling calmness, you locked eyes with him. "That wasn't an accident— our previous affairs were an accident. What you've done was murder."
Your words hung in the air, leaving no room for denial.
“I love you,” the prince spoke in near-whisper. “You know better than anyone that I would never do anything to hurt you this bad. You know that I am the voice that called for your exile instead of execution. I never would’ve asked for his death.”
His claim was also true.
You knew you were the only person who he had fallen for his whole life. You knew because when you were studying abroad, you had strange chance encounters with him. You knew because he was mildly stalking you and would’ve for a long time had you not offered a seat in the library. You knew because he had been a difficult person to court, always bottling his own emotions and lashing out in retorts you had dubbed “adorable” at a time. You knew because he had told you himself years ago that…
"You are insufferable. And yet, I find myself inexplicably drawn to your company. It's horridly vexing. Your presence lingers in my thoughts long after you've departed, like an annoying insect. I must confess, despite my best efforts, I find myself rather fond of you too— ridiculously enough."
... But what you didn’t know during your studies in Fontaine was that Kunikuzushi was the son of the Queen you despised and wrote articles against in editorial jobs to earn not only spare cash but the enlightenment of your people back home. What you didn’t know was that the prince had been sent by his mother to monitor your actions.
What you did not know came to haunt you on your way back home.
So you rid yourself of these memories and cornered him into a wall, a hand just behind his head. The sound of your hand slamming made the intimidating prince flinch, and he trembled at the dullness of your eyes.
“And yet whose orders was it? Whose order was it to ensure there would be no survivors in that location? WHOSE WAS IT, KUNIKUZUSHI?! ANSWER ME!!!”
Your spouse called your name from the other room. “(Y/n), is everything alright?”
With their voice, your anger faded slightly, yet your breathing remains loud and manic. “I’m alright! Do not leave the room, dear!”
“Scaramouche” took that as an opportunity to digress.
“I saved you from death before. Do not forget that.” His face hardened. “In case you've forgotten, I'm no saint. Many people will want to seek me out and settle the grudges they've built against me, and what better way to avoid that than to route those future seeds of rebellion?”
The prince took your hand off the wall.
“Mother had enough, she sees no reason to hold back against those who rebel and she had filed an order to reopen your case. And if my blood and hers are the same, I guarantee you that she will only provide you with the worst defense attorney possible. You will surely receive the death sentence.”
He placed your hand on his chest, gripping it so desperately tight to the point of it hurting.
“So choose me,” Kunikuzushi mumbled. “Choose me, and save yourself. Do not follow your brother’s path. Choose me. I’m your only option.”
And heavens above, does he take delight in that.
You met his gaze with a resolute determination.
"I appreciate your offer," you replied, your voice steady, "but I refuse. My brother's legacy, as tarnished as it may be, deserves justice, and so do I."
A flicker of frustration passed across Kunikuzushi's face.
"You're being naive," he retorted, the desperation in his voice taking a sharper edge. "An arraignment is on its way. The military court will not deliver justice. It will devour you. I’m offering you a fucking lifeline, a chance to escape the inevitable."
“I won't tarnish my brother's memory by succumbing to the same shadows that claimed him."
Kunikuzushi's eyes, once filled with a glimmer of hope, darkened with frustration. "You're condemning yourself—" he argued, "—for an idealistic notion of justice that doesn't exist. You're a fool."
"Perhaps I am a fool," you admitted, "But I am a fool who is sure of their innocence. I am not a revolutionary, I only spoke and wrote of the truth. I will not compromise my integrity for the sake of expedience."
As you spoke, the defeat in Kunikuzushi's eyes began to settle.
"You're determined," he snarled. "So stubbornly determined to die!"
"Perhaps," you acknowledged, "Choosing you would be an escape, but it would also be a betrayal of everything I stand for. And I…"
You smiled.
“I love my spouse,” you said. “And the child we made that was taken from me all so suddenly. Hence, I do not need your love, Prince Scaramouche.”
Kunikuzushi tensed up.
Your child was baptized by the Inazuman priests.
And Inazuman priests serve the royal family and their constituents.
History’s eyes will speculate that Prince Kunikuzushi was the reason your child had died, that he had ordered your son's immediate poison upon birth.
And Kunikuzushi knows it to be true.
But you will never know that.
You will never know the full extent of what this man had taken from you.
With those words, you turned away from Kunikuzushi, leaving him and his offer behind. You opened the door and gestured for him to leave. Neither of you knew at the time that this would be the last night you’d spend in the comfort of your own home.
Before you knew it, you were writing your final farewells.
(Y/n) (L/n) was subjected by the military court on ████████ ██, ████ and was sentenced to death at six in the morning.
The people saw no justice for their hero, and your body was buried in Inazuma City. If it were not for all you and your clan had given, there would be no freedom in Watatsumi Island and Ritou. Had your brother not saved the young girl, she would not become the matriarch of the Yuna Clan, who led the first Navy in the revolution.
And had you not died in Inazuma City, there would be no Resistance.
But that was centuries ago.
Divine Priestess Sangonomiya Kokomi sat on her desk, examining previous preliminary investigations. She racked her brain over the testimonies of the seven members of the military court, the judge advocate, the defense counsel, and the prosecuting attorney. The prince was right when he stated the trial would not be fair for you were forced to employ a Lt. Arataki as your defense. It was a prejudged trial. Despite the obvious assertion of innocence, you were still acquitted of your allegations of treachery.
It never fails to make the current Head Priestess feel sour over a 5 centuries-year-old case.
"In their last moments, (L/n) penned Watatsumi Fair and Canticle, two sonnets kept hidden in an alcohol burner." Kokomi murmured as she read. "Although the prince barred their spouse entry, several other family members and friends came to visit (L/n) with the Orobashi coral statue provided by the townsfolk. The sculpture was created for them during the aforementioned fair."
Are you going to Watatsumi Fair?
"In their Fontainian black suit, hat, shoes, and white vest, (L/n) walked calmly outside their prison cell to the execution site in Inazuma City. They've even checked (L/n)'s pulse and felt no irregularities. (L/n) were tied elbow-to-elbow despite their visible acceptance of fate."
"It was speculated that Prince Kunikuzushi was the last person whom they talked to, looking rather somberly with disdain. He spoke in a foreign language so only (L/n) and he knew of their conversation."
Seri, mitsuba, yomogi, shiso.
"But Archbishop Sangonomiya Umiko understood what he had said. Je t'aime, mon grand amour… ma première trahison. Roughly translated as I love you, my grand love… my first betrayal."
"Lector (Y/n) (L/n) was commanded to face the ground when the firing squad pulled the trigger, but they still tried to face their executioners. They fell to the shoveled ground, looking at the gray morning skies. They were buried at seven."
“From then on, the name Kunikuzushi changed its meaning to Country Destroyer— for he had successfully demolished the Inazuman Empire upon sitting on the throne through violent means. When asked about this, the King responded with:”
Remember me to one who lives there.
“I didn't desire the Empire that took away my (Y/n). I didn't crave any of it. As soon as I was coronated, my heart stopped beating. And so, I enticed the neighboring King Morax to crumble the very essence of the Inazuman Empire. What purpose do these soldiers have in life, when all they've done is obediently follow ruthless commands and snuff out the ones who hold my heart?
When it’s said and done, I will be empty— a blank slate, destined to wander the desolate corridors of a nation bygone.
Only to honor these filthy human emotions called “love” that never came to be.”
He once was a true love of mine.

Something you mentioned at one point was the idea that the Southeastern Mondstadters are viewed with some suspicion as they were mainly descended from Snezhnayaians who fled to escape the Fatui.
In game lore, Diluc is mentioned to be involved with an intelligence network within Snezhnaya that are thoroughly anti-Tsaritsa/Fatui.
I think it could be interesting for the idea that these southeastern Mondstadters might on occasion go back to Snezhnaya, but with the sole purpose to screw with the Fatui organization (think WWII style Polish/Yugoslav partisans)
In other words… Diluc leading these Mondstadter Hajdúk/Partisan raids, against the Fatui (all done without the KoF knowing)
Thoughts?
Every time you come into my ask box you write the coolest most insane ideas I fw you SO heavy you are amazing
They are the peak of screwing with the fatui (excluding the fact that a lot of these are headcannons)
Time to yap😈
Diluc
Diluc is the forefront of every operation, his invaluable knowledge of how the Fatui operate is often what separates a failed mission from a successful one. However, he himself cannot involve himself too directly (as much as he would relish in doing so) lest he poke the sleeping bear that is already breathing down his country’s neck and bring the Snezhnayan military to the front gates of Mondstadt. So he opts for a more subtle approach. Wearing and tearing down the Fatui by offering arms to those who oppose them (often the citizens they govern), sabotaging their supply shipments, and disrupting their political processes.
Yelan
Yelan works in the shadows, forcefully poking and prodding at the innards of Snezhnayan political and military power in order to extract the pure, unfiltered truth. She reports to the Tianquan, who shares the information with whoever she pleases. However, Yelan also reports to the network, sharing only the details that are needed for whatever vocation that is transpiring to go well.
Sangonomiya Kokomi
One may not expect the high priestess of Watatsumi Island to be associated with such a scandalous affair, but Kokomi is well versed in the art of destruction from the inside out. She is the core strategist for all operations involving force, and is no stranger to civic warfare. She disguises all identities under layers of waterlogged evidence, leaving only the Fatui scrambling to find a culprit. Her web of red herrings always lead to the wrong target, and the Fatui find themselves drowning in a sea of could-bes and could-nots.
Wriothesley
Remarkably, The Duke uses a much more supportive strategy than one would think. Those who are under siege for providing information or resisting Fatui oppression can find sanctuary within the Fortress of Meropride. Wriothesley provides jeopardized informants with protection (and even a new identity, if needed) under the guise of taking them in as a prisoner. There, they are safeguarded from prying eyes and guileful assassins while they take the time to be forgotten by society. If needed, he will personally allocate guards to chaperone them to another safe house closer to (or farther from!) their home.
Yap session DONE!!!!
I think Mongolians in Liyue have a similar history to southern mondstadters

How have you been? I have returned for more headcanons! And I am not insane yet again! ...Ei, Kujou Sara, and Kokomi with a reader that has a gun (pistol in this case) on them
Okay fine I am a bit insane
Read this prologue for context!
Scenario: Reactions to a modern pistol
Characters: Ei, Kujou Sara, Sangonomiya Kokomi
I'll be honest, you should make sure that Ei manages to fully understand the advances and culture of the present day Inazuma before you show her new tech. It will spare much confusion.
Ei isn't interested in military advancements at first, but once you perhaps bring it up as a small comment, or she sees it, she will bring it up, and once you mention it as a weapon, she'll definitely be interested and want to learn more.
Remember, she used to be a military leader, so she still has a keen interest in these things, even if she wishes to not wage a war again if she can stop it. So when she learns about it, she might start to asks questions that not many may know...
How does it work? Why is it so deadly? Can it be mass produced? How does one train to use it? She becomes very curious in very little time, and she may be a little disappointed if some questions aren't answered.
Doesn't matter if the questions tire you out or not, her curiosity is lit up, and eventually she'll start asking about a whole bunch of other things as well! The gun might not amount to much, but it caused a definitive change in her mind about your world!
She doesn't really see it as a threat, nor as a weapon she could possibly use, as she's confident in her own techniques, and power. She leaves it in your hands, and leaves it be, without much hassle.
However, if you're interested in self defense and weapons, she'd be happy to show you how it works in her world, while witnessing it first-hand! She might not be the best teacher, but it's the least she can do to pay you back!
"From your expression, I'm guessing you liked the demonstration. Isn't it beautiful? At first, I didn't think of it that way myself, but the more I thought about it, the more I came to understand how it can be enchanting to watch. Why am I... W-well, it's to return the favor, isn't it obvious?"
At first, she won't ask many questions about your world, or your belongings. It's not surprising, given her tendency to not make small tall, and her respectful nature about her superiors. Get her to loosen up first, then maybe she'll notice and ask.
When she learns about the gun, she'll pay very close attention. She doesn't like putting in her personal feelings towards military matters, but from the way you talk, she eventually notices that it's more of a casual talk than anything.
Once she relaxes, she'll ask more questions, and show curiosity, much like Ei. Her questions are straightforward, and objective, like how to use it, about the ammunition, and its use as a weapon.
When realizing it's value as a self defense weapon, she leaves it in your hands, although she can't help but think about it at random times afterwards, especially when she's relaxing.
After this, she asks about the possibility of other firearms, how they work and what they look like! It might be just memories at this point, but she can't help but be curious... It's a good topic to keep her engaged, and just chat.
This will eventually lead to her asking about military matters in your world! If you do know, expect to be asked about wars, tactics, and other technology used in them. Perhaps you could spare her some gruesome details, but she does listen to whatever you may share.
In exchange, she'll eventually speak about military matters in Inazuma, perhaps some that you weren't aware of when watching everything from outside! Just make sure to let her know that you're actually learning, and not omniscient...
"You don't mind that I'm asking questions like these, correct? I understand that war is now something of the past, and I should enjoy other things in this world now that it's behind us, but... No need to explain? Are you... Hm. I'm... Grateful."
Time for something a little different, as Kokomi is naturally curious of other cultures aside from the one in her home! So whenever you mention your past life and world, she naturally starts to ask questions!
If you show her your gun, she's immediately examining it, with just her eyes if you don't let her hold it, and the texture is just so strange to her... She examines it almost as if it's a relic of some kind!
Once you explain its functions as a weapon though, her more childish curiosity drops for a few moments, just in case it's something more serious than she assumed at first...
If you do let her hold it again, she'll be much more careful with it, and her eyes will lose some of that glow, getting sharper... Just ensure she doesn't overthink things, she's already done plenty of that.
Much like the others she'll leave it in your hands, but it's not hard to tell how interested she is! If you bring it up later, she'll definitely show how much she's been thinking about it constantly...
Once you let her though, she'll definitely storm you with more questions about both the weaponry, and the way it's used in your world, amongst other related topics! Much like the others, but there's a tone of spark and excitement in her voice...
She's definitely the one that remains most interested in the weapon out of them all, even if it's not to use it herself. It's to the point you can sorta predict what the two of you will talk about next time you two meet...
"I can't believe how far technology has developed... I can't help but wonder, how else has it developed? Even more, how far have other things developed? Ways of thinking, religion, warfare? So many wonderful possibilities to think about..."

ˋ°•*⁀➷ my fav hydro characters + pining for you,, sobs,,,AND YES THE NO EYE CONTACT THING IN NILOUS IS A REAL THING I USED TO DO THEATER
ˋ°•*⁀➷ kamisato ayato, sangonomiya kokomi, nilou, furina x gn! reader
°˖➴ listening to: ハルカ - yoasobi
₊˚ fluffy shit, food mentions, friends to lovers for kokomi, technically unrequited love
as the bitter cold winter melts into a pleasant spring, the head of the kamisato clan found himself falling for you. the sakura bloomed once more as they always did as the days got a little warmer, but the dreamlike weather only seemed to remind him of you nowadays. ayato always considered himself to be somewhat of a loner behind closed doors, never truly able to confide much in any one person. yet, you just turned his whole world upside down the second you became a part of it.
on his lips was the pleasant taste of milk tea, a drink that preparing seems to remind ayato of you as well. the recipe you had given him that added a few ingredients was much better anyway, or maybe it was just because it was your recipe. it’s such a simple matter, but it’s one that meant the whole world. everything from your smile to your eyes set his heart on fire. it’s certainly a sight to see the trusted head of the kamisato clan hiding his blushing face when you’re around, becoming clumsy and nervous.
rumors spread like wildfire among socialites, that much is obvious. ayato just couldn’t help but wish the things whispered about you and him were true, it’s all the same meaningless gossip anyway. the world just wouldn’t have it that way, dooming his feelings to be left unexpressed unless he got the courage to confess for himself.
you were her best friend, someone who helped shoulder the burden of the stress of running a society. the divine priestess was a mess behind closed doors, but it adds up in the best way. holding your hand until hers falls off, kokomi wished she could just tell you that she loved you. yet, she didn’t want to ruin your relationship. the poor girl is already stressed enough without the worry of tarnishing the bond you had with her.
those three words she dreaded so much were such a waste of time when said time could be spent on much more important matters. you knew the hints she had been dropping, pretending not to believe the things she said. it’s only in that way she’s feeling so down lately, but nothing seems to change.
maybe she’d confess during a quiet nighttime walk on the beach. the sound of the crashing waves gave her strength to say the dreaded three words she wished she’d never have to say to someone who might not feel the same.
she nearly froze when she saw you in the crowd during one of her performances. beneath the colorful lights and melodic tune she moved her body to, she was just a girl helplessly in love. the world just fell away when she saw you standing there, watching intently. it’s a rule for performers to not make eye contact with anyone in the crowd so as to not break immersion, but she couldn’t help but look you in the eye as her smile grew.
nilou’s heart was pounding so fast it was as if it were barely beating at all. such beautiful colors swirling around her as she danced, the performer was so infatuated with the idea of you watching her that it felt as if you were the only person in the crowd. at least to her, you were the only one who mattered.
every breath she had taken, every second of her life had led to this moment. time had brought her heart to you, and nilou wouldn’t trade it for the world. just the way you looked at her had her mesmerized, something inescapable. not that she would mind even one bit.
furina de fontaine isn’t exactly one to hide her feelings. tea parties with the former god have always been fun, but more so now that she’s free to express herself. the bittersweet taste of tea in her mouth is familiar, reminiscent of the bittersweet love she feels for you. the sun’s rays beamed through the open window, letting in a refreshingly cool breeze that cut through the warm spring air.
just like sunshine, you were always there to brighten up her day. like the desserts she found herself enjoying, you were so sweet! you reminded furina of all her favorite things, so it would be absurd for her not to love you with her entire being. the only thing that didn’t make her think of you was the bitterness of the tea she drank. sometimes she enjoyed it without anything to sweeten it, the bitterness balancing out the sweet of her desserts.
her love for you wasn’t all sweet. sometimes she finds herself wishing she could tell you how she felt, but her low self esteem prevented it. what if you didn’t feel the same? what if you only thought of her as a friend?

Genshin Girls When They’re Late to a Date! Modern AU
Genre: Angst, Eventual fluff
Reader: Gender Neutral
Characters: Beidou, Yelan, Sangonomiya Kokomi, Ei
Beidou-
It’s raining. Your girlfriend is late. You wonder if she even forgot your anniversary. You’re sitting at the, now wet, picnic spot that you picked hoping to watch the sunset while eating the delicious home-made sandwiches you made for her. You hoped you guys would reminisce about past time while watching the warm sky finally turn blue. This was supposed to be a romantic outing, but instead you’re by your lonesome with no Beidou in sight.
You guys have been together for a while now, and Beidou has been so attentive of your every need, making sure you’re always comfortable, safe, and warm with her around. And what’s worse? The fact that she’s sent all your calls to voicemail and hasn’t answered your texts, or that she’s smiling… climbing the hill you’re sat on and bringing a hugeee umbrella to cover you, her, and the food.
“Hey love,” she calls out quietly. You remain silent as she places the umbrella down to protect you and the already soggy food from the rain. She doesn’t sit down yet, waiting for your permission.
“Won’t even look at me, huh?” She sighs, kneeling and looking in your direction. The soft rain outlining her figure.
You sigh, “Please make yourself at home, don’t want you to get a cold.” You say with an eye roll as you’re basically an ice cube away from turning into a snowman.
She chuckles a bit as you scoot over to make space for her. She grabs your hand and gives it a rub, trying to warm you up. You let her. This is her apologizing for her being late. You can tell she feels too bad to even mention an excuse as to why she’s late right now, but you ask anyway. “Why did you come so late? The suns already gone and the sandwiches are pretty much ruined…” You speak barley even audible, but Beidou catches it. She catches everything you say.
“Well… did you eat all the sandwiches or are they all actually soggy?” She reaches for the picnic basket, imagining the wooden protective cover would keep the sandwich’s dry, plus you put them in a zip log.
You slap her hand quickly before she can uncover the basket. “Well maybe I wouldn’t have eaten all of them if you came on time!” You huff angrily, finally looking her in the eyes to see her already looking at you, with her signature hearty smile. She watches your face soften at the sight of her.
“Oh there’s those sweet eyes,” she rubs a hand over your cheek. Practically holding you captive. You can’t refuse. “Why don’t we just make this a stargazing night instead, hmm? Would you like that?” Once you nod, she pushes you down the wet blanket you laid out, cupping your face as she starts to kiss you softly.
If only you weren’t so weak in the knees for her…
P.S. You eventually found out she was late cause she saw the weather forecast ahead of time (unlike you) and left half way in the drive to the picnic spot so she could grab a huge umbrella to keep you warm. She was actually really angry at herself she couldn’t beat the rain.
Yelan-
You’re scared. It’s dark out. The restaurant is closing and your ride, your girlfriend may I add, is no where to be seen. The dangers of waiting in the street in this city is just a fiasco already in motion.
And your girlfriend knows this, hence why she’s practically never late to anything. Yelan is always looking out for any possible danger like a hawk (she can be a little over protective sometimes). But it’s been maybe about two hours since your original meeting time? You wouldn’t know because your phone is dead… You have no idea where she is, and the restaurant staff is waiting on you so they can leave.
You sheepishly apologize to the waitress closing up as you exit the fancy restaurant that Yelan reserved. ‘Where the hell is she??’ You ponder. But just as you exit out the restaurant, you see the familiar expensive black car pull up.
Yelan doesn’t roll down the window, no, she jumps out the car and runs toward you. She frantically grabs your shoulders and starts shaking you. “Are you okay?? Why weren’t you home? Did something happen? I had to track you through your phone, gosh I was worried sick.” She starts to speak really fast while she gives you a quick look around to confirm to herself that you are alive.
Once she reassured herself that you’re okay, she noticed how fancy you’re dressed and looks up to the name of the restaurant, finally remembering this was the day she invited you out to eat. “Oh… oh baby I’m so sorry.” A look a guilt fills her face as she frowns.
“Did you forget?” You chime. The disappointment still lingers, but whatever anger you felt, dissipated from the look of panic on her face. She nods, resting her head on your shoulder as you rub her back. “It’s okay, it happens to the best of us.” She stiffens at your words. She looks back to make eye contact with you and your soft sympathizing smile melts her heart. How could she ever keep someone as sweet as you waiting?
Yelan takes another look at you. Letting the sight in front of her really sink in. “You dressed this nice for me?” She smirks and you heat up.
You always shy away when she gives you that look. “I just wanted today to be special and then to look special… for you.” Yelan’s heart probably skipped a beat at that.
“Then let me make it up to you.” She opens the passenger seat and holds a hand out for you. Nothing but determination set on her face as you accept the familiar warmth of her hand and climb in.
P.S. I bet she ended up taking you to Mcdonalds cause basically nothing is open late anymore (Thanks a lot COVID)
Kokomi-
You’re worried. The crowd of the movie theatre starts to disperse and there’s still no sign of Kokomi anywhere. It’s maybe about an hour after your meeting time and the movie is already halfway done probably. You decide to venture out the cinema to the busy street, sun hitting your eyes as it’s still bright out.
But this sunny atmosphere doesn’t help the fact that you’re worried sick, not for yourself but Kokomi. She actually planned this date and she isn’t picking up her phone. ‘God what if something happened to her.’ You’d never forgive yourself if something did. You made a promise to yourself to always protect her.
You knew Kokomi had a habit of over exhausting herself; that she tends to sorta just crash afterwards and needs time to recharge. This weekend was supposed to be a celebration for completing finals week, but maybe the cramming got to her.
After wandering around the city for a bit, occasionally calling out your lover’s name, you decide to head to her dorm. Luckily it’s not far away. It’s a 10 minute walk, but you make it five as you’re in a hurry to make sure she’s okay.
While rushing a flash of pink strides past you as it takes you a second to look back at the familiar backside of your girlfriend.
“Kokomi! Wait up!” You immediately dash as she turns around at the sound of her name. She pauses. The look of panic of her face turns into a scrunched up one as she starts to cry at the sight of you. There’s eye bags under her eyes, her hairs a mess, and she’s still in pajamas. She still looks like the princess she is though, but you can tell she was rushing to meet you.
She runs over to you and frantically exclaims, “I’m so sorry, I slept through my alarm and set so many to make it on time cause I really wanted to watch this with you but I didn’t hear the ring. You’ve been looking forward to movie weekend for so long cause of finals and so have I cause I needed to see you. But I’ve been so tired from all these all nighters and-“
“Kokomi calm down, it’s okay. You’re okay and that’s all that matters.” You grab her and give her a hug, trying to sooth her down as she bawls in your arms. “It’s okay, everything is okay now.” You rub her back as she eventually pulls herself together.
“Ugh sorry you had to see me like that. I look like a mess right now.” She looks at her feet and tugs at the shirt she’s wearing that has different toothpaste stains.
“Oh my god, don’t be ridiculous Koko.” She flushes at the sound of her nickname as you comfort her. “Even if you were covered in mud or fell into a trash can, you’d still be the prettiest girl in the world.” She blushes even more at your words and gives you another hug.
“I really missed you this week.” She says, hugging you even tighter.
“I know, so did I. Why don’t we just do movie night at your place?” You pat her head as she nods. You guys hold hands on the way back as Kokomi eventually returns to her passionate self in your presence.
P.S. She forgot her phone as she rushed out to get you.
Ei-
Your girlfriend doesn’t leave the house often. She’s really busy and tends to be a homebody anyway, so this weekend you wanted to take a road trip to the nearby beach and finally enjoy some sunlight with her. Don’t get me wrong, staying home with Ei makes for a passionate and cozy atmosphere, but you wanted more of a romantic environment sometimes.
Hence why you’re here, voice mailing Ei wondering if she’s still at the beach hotel. You guys would’ve walked to the beach together if it weren’t for the fact that Ei still has some work to finish up and told you that’d she’d meet you there soon.
At first you were having fun, playing in the water and sand, but it’s been a good hour since Ei said she’d be coming. Now, an hour might not seem too long on the beach given there’s a lot to do, but Ei said she’d be coming out soon. And while Ei isn’t very good with time management (she’s a perfectionist who takes the lasting seconds to perfect her work) she promised you that this weekend was just going to be you, her, and the big blue sea.
You sit on the sand, wet from the sea but not cold with the sun’s glare. You watch the waves go back and forth. The wishy-washy sea oddly reminds you of your relationship. There’s those times where it feels like the perfect relationship in the world, but then its goes back to times like these. You don’t like being mad at Ei, she has her reasons of course, but you just want to be the priority sometimes.
You get lulled out of your thoughts at the sound of your name. “Y/N! There you are, I’ve been looking for you. Are you ready for the beach?” You turn around to see her huffing and puffing from running. But once she sees a gloomy look on your face she asks, “What’s wrong?” She sits down next to you and looks to you for an answer.
“I…,” you sigh. You can’t say it. Ei works hard; not to play hard, but she works hard to provide. She’s paying for this trip and you just can’t bring yourself to complain. “No, sorry it’s nothing-“
“Y/N tell me. I know when something is troubling you.” She cuts you off and gives your hand a squeeze. She looks so attentively at you, searching your eyes for an answer.
“I just wish you’d spend more time with me… you promised it’d be just you and me, but you’ve spent more time with your laptop than me and I just… I just don’t get how I can miss my girlfriend when she’s right next to me.” You poor everything out in the open as a silence lingers in the air. You don’t meet Ei’s eyes, slightly worried she might be angry.
But you’re met with a hug instead. “I’m sorry. I know it doesn’t feel nice to be put second. Work has been hectic lately, but I promise- no enough promises. I am going to be the best for you. You deserve nothing but the best. I’m sorry I kept you waiting, I didn’t realize the time passed by.” She doesn’t let go of the hug. “Please say something.” She burrows her head in your neck.
You wrap your arms around her back and feel her soften up in your arms. “I know you’re trying. You try every day to be your best not just for me, but for yourself too and that’s what I love about you. So it’s okay, I understand. Just can we put work aside this once and focus on each other?” She looks back at you with sparkles in her eyes and holds your hands.
“Really? You don’t want to scrap the whole thing?” She asks, cautious she fucked things up this time.
“No, of course not!” You get up as the look of shock still lingers on her face. “Common the waves are going to get cold soon!” You pull her hand as you get up and run to the waters. Laughter trailing behind you as you meet the waves again with your feet. The waves make you now realize that every relationship has its highs and lows, but the beauty of a relationship is working through those lows.

─── ・ 。゚☆: .☽ . :☆゚.───
For Archons' sake, Gorou's a general.
Someone who has the respect of all that he swore to protect. He's the supposed "top-dog" soldier of Watatsumi Island. He built his reputation from the ground up, spent years upon years training himself to be the best soldier on the island. He's the number one supporter of Sangonomiya Kokomi, the Divine Priestess who entrusted him with leading her army safely through the throes of this terrible war. He's been told he was a humble leader, a man of sincere righteousness, a good person.
Internally, he knew that everyone had it all wrong about him.
They don't know that this man, this soldier, had become a disgusting degenerate of an animal.
Sick, sick thoughts filled his mind when the nights grew quiet and the bonfires outside had soon slowly burned out. The innate want — no, need — to breed, consistently grew stronger with each passing night; it was a genetic predisposition that he felt like he had been cursed with. If he thought about it for too long, he could feel himself harden and strain against the restraints of his garments. He'd get himself to the point where he'd slowly palm himself, his body growing warm and his breathing quickening, but he'd never finish. It was frustrating from the way he'd get oh so close but he just couldn't cum, no matter how much his cock was twitching or how much his tip was leaking out precum.
It was too shameful, too scandalous.
Gorou wasn't always like this. For the longest time, his urges had always been easy to control. His mind had always been focused on battle positioning plans and extreme training regimes, anything to get the upper hand against the Tenryou Commission. It was like everything in him was suddenly rewired the day you joined the ranks.
Usually it was not his place to oversee newcomers, the lower ranked captains were assigned for that position. However, Her Excellency wanted him to train this group of newbies this time around. She told him that it was the utmost emergency, resources and people were running low and she needed time to gather more support. Gorou would never refuse her request so he obeyed her command, preparing himself with speeches and strategies.
Very few people were willing to go up against the Shogunate and her powerful army; he was the one that had to inspire them and ensure that their minds were set for fighting for what was right. They had to fight, not only for the island but for the people who were currently being persecuted in the Inazuma mainland.
As he approached the training area while reading over the speech, he stopped dead in his tracks. A light scent, almost a sweet floral, lingered in the air. It was a complete contrast against the sweat and dirt so he followed after it, his eyes finally landing on you.
You were sparring with one of the other newbies, pinning him to the ground while laughing. You held your own well, the man was twice your size and there he laid in a dazed confusion. His tail fluffed up as he watched you get up and stretch, the disheveled training uniform pulling up and revealing the smooth skin of your stomach.
He felt himself swallow nervously as you noticed his presence, your body stiffening and going into the position of standing at attention. You were the only one to do so, the others scrambling to copy your actions as they finally realized he was watching them.
It was rare to see women in Watatsumi Island or in the village, much less so his age. Most of them either were dedicated shrine maidens, women who were already happily married, or the elderly taking care of their grandchildren while their parents worked outside of the island. To see you was quite a surprise, especially since the other trainees that surrounded you were all men. There was a small handful of resistance soldiers that were the opposite sex, all working alongside Her Excellency as her advisors.
Gorou had to regain his thoughts, trying to shake out your smell out of his head. He began to speak, slowly pacing back and forth as he recited the whole trainee speech in verbatim, finally turning towards them and saluting a dismissal. The crowd saluted in return, soon dispersing to carry out other assigned duties and he opened his communication box to send back a message to Kokomi when all of the sudden, he felt a tap on his shoulder.
It was the flower-smelling soldier, you. He tried not to stare at you while he was talking but your scent was so enticingly distracting, he couldn't help but take a few glances. You were even prettier up close, the particular aroma was even stronger as you stood in front of him.
"General Gorou sir." You saluted quickly, your posture unwavering. You positioned quite well for a starting soldier, color him impressed.
"At ease. Do you need anything—?" He didn't know your name yet, lightly trailing off. You seemed to catch on with his hesitancy, perking up immediately.
"L/N. Private Y/N L/N. And yes General sir, I would like to ask when will we be doing weapon and hand-to-hand combat training."
"In a few weeks. The skills that we will be teaching this week is all physical activity training. It's quite necessary. It would be pretty embarrassing running down the battlefield and falling just because your body can't hold up the armor." He heard you snort, your hands going over your mouth almost immediately. His face grew warm as he stared at you with wide eyes, your gaze casting itself to the ground.
"Sorry General sir, I couldn't help but laugh."
Gorou's tail started wagging, his hand immediately catching it before it could move any noticeably faster. With his other hand, he placed it on your shoulder and smiled.
"Please, you can just call me Gorou. I'm not fond of formalities when we aren't on the field." Your eyes lit up once more, that was the funny thing about newbies. They always look up to the more skilled seniors, especially if they were a high rank like him.
"Yes sir- Gorou." You corrected yourself quickly, causing him to chuckle. The two of you began to discuss, mostly small talk to fill up the time. It was supposed to be a professional conversation but the more he spoke with you, the more personal he wanted to be. The two of you were soon interrupted however, you were needed by one of the captains. He quickly dismissed you, not wanting for you to get any bad first impressions from his colleagues. He didn't realize that his tail had drooped down low when you disappeared from view, the fur flattened down completely.
As the weeks went by, you proved to be a diligent and hardworking soldier, carrying out tasks with no complaints. During his observations, you rarely had any struggle keeping up with the men, not that it mattered in the first place. You were more nimble than most during close combat and you did better with a polearm than a bow or sword. During those weeks of training, he was only observing you. He swore it wasn't stalking, God forbid.
It was innocent at first, what he thought about you. He liked you, he usually liked all of his subordinates but something felt different about you. Was it because you were the only woman in the ranks at the moment? He wasn't like this around Her Excellency nor her advisors, but that was completely out of respect. Didn't he respect you?
The realization hit him when he saw your hair down one night while making his rounds around the camp. You were returning from the bathhouse, most likely bathing after all the men so you could have the well-needed privacy.
You spotted him first, waving a hand from afar. He only noticed when the floral scent hit him, barely smelling the hint of soap along with it. He finally became aware of the fact that your hair was still damp, pooling down over your shoulders. The moonlight bore down on you, giving you a glow that was absolutely breathtaking and then you smiled.
You smiled and everything suddenly felt tight in his body, as if he was being restrained by his own skin.
Gorou was lucky that it was nighttime and he was a distance away. Any closer and you would have been able to see how red his face had gotten. He'd only seen your hair up, a military standard that must be followed for all who had a hair length that went past their shoulders, so to see you like this left him dumbfounded. He quickly waved back and jogged off to his housing early, feeling his heart beat hard in his chest as he shut the door harder than it needed to.
He went over to sit on his bed, doubling over as he clutched a fist over his chest. His body was warming up and it felt like he couldn't breathe, only able to take in quick, sharp inhales. His mind felt like it was all over the place but still was able to only focus on one thing: you.
It was unethical with what he was feeling. He could only remind himself that he is a general — a rank higher than most — and here he was, thinking about a private. You looked up to him, you were supposed to because he was your leader, your guidance in this kind of world. Yet the way you gazed at him with complete adoration and fascination, the way you cheered praises at him when he showed off during sparring, it was getting to him when it shouldn't. Others had done the same but when it came to you, he just couldn't have enough.
Gorou's body felt like it was on fire and he moved to lay down, wincing when he finally noticed that he was hard. This never happened, this never happens. Maybe he could just sleep it off. In the morning, all of this would be gone. These... feelings.
He couldn't relieve himself. If he touched himself and came, it would be considered a sin. He had no room in his plans to visit the shrine maidens and confess something so innocuous. What would he even say? Forgive me, for I have thought and climaxed to one of my lower subordinates inappropriately. He'd prefer getting incapacitated by General Kujou Sara than say anything relating or similar to that.
He sat up and carefully removed his clothes, shuddering as the chilled air touched his bare skin. The bandages that he wore in his lower half were still intact but there was a definite outline of where his stiffened cock was being restrained. Fuck.
Gorou hesitantly went to trace his fingers along the outline, barely putting any pressure against it before he sharply inhaled, looking over and seeing that he reached the tip. It felt good, the wrappings were thinner than he originally thought. Shame soon shadowed over him, his hand retracting to his side and clenching the once-neatly made sheets. He shouldn't be doing this at all. Not when the origin of this came from a subordinate, a subordinate he shouldn't be thinking of in the first place.
He laid back down and shut his eyes tight, ignoring the panging throbs that were tempted to be relieved. He wouldn't let this issue bother him, so long as he can endure it. If he started something he would regret, then may the fallen god Orobaxi strike him down mercilessly.
Days turned into weeks and then into months. No matter how much he slept it off, tossing and turning restlessly in his bed, he was never able to get you out of his mind. He tried to avoid you as well, attempting to limit the interactions to important business only but it seemed that luck had never been on his side to begin with.
It was you who was always initiating, asking if your form is right as you held up the polearm in a perfect defensive stance, making him come to you and press his body against yours to fix your positioning. It was you who was always questioning whether or not a planned attack was coming soon, eyes lighting up as he mentioned a hint of any sort of battle. It was always you. Even when he was trying to map out positions on where a possible vantage point could be in his housing, he'd hear you approach the door and question him about what was arranged for tomorrow.
Some days, he wouldn't let you in. Gorou would tell you that he's busy at the moment and like a good little soldier, you obeyed his request and began to speak behind the barrier. What you didn't know was that his hand was pressing against his bulge as you spoke, biting his lip as he tried to keep himself quiet. His high morals always bit at him, making it so he could never bring himself to finish, a painful shame bleeding into the depths of his soul.
Whenever he heard your voice, it was like something was injected into his veins every single time you spoke to him. Your smell was even worse for him, his tail curling whenever you passed by him. And those eyes, God those eyes. Staring at him like he was the light of your life, turning into little half moons whenever you smiled at him. Everything about you ignited something truly terrible within him and he was addicted, the feverish heat never truly going away as you finally left his doorstep.
Her Excellency was worried about his change of state, telling him that he can take a break if he needed one. She noticed the sweat pool and drip down his flushed out and dazed face, even when the weather was fair and he barely moved an inch besides the occasional shuffle of his legs and tail. He couldn't, he wouldn't, not when the war was still going on. What would she think if he confessed to her about what he was doing to the thought of one of her soldiers?
You were a compelling distraction. A small bump in the road, a large sinkhole that he was struggling to get out of, slipping in deeper with every miserable attempt. The constant arousal and burning heat had diverted his busy mentality, only focusing on how his cock was aching and stirring for any sort of release. It was to the point where he started missing out on his other job, papers and requests piling up on his desk until his incompetence began to not go unnoticed.

"My, my, my. I haven't smelled this kind of scent in years, no wonder my best writer has been slacking in his duties." A disappointed but amused tut had Gorou's tail bristling from the sound of a familiar voice, ears flicking and head turning towards the now-opened door. A decorative fan hid her face but he knew all too well who it was based on the red-colored shrine maiden outfit and the long muted pink hair.
"Lady Guuji! You're not supposed to be here on enemy lines." He got up from his desk and quickly closed the door behind her, nails digging into the wood as a pang of warmth ran through his body. Miko closed her fan and walked over to his desk, pushing and prodding papers around with it as she slightly clicked of her tongue. Shit, has he really been that distracted?
"Oh Gorou, as far as I know, the Grand Narukami Shrine sides with no one in this war. I just wanted to see why the aspiring Ms. Hina hasn't been sending over her column responses like usual, you know she's usually so punctual with her postings! But now, I can see — no — smell why." She sniffed the air once more, his cheeks growing redder by the second.
"It reeks of your rutting stench in here, would you be so kind and open up a window for me?"
He obeyed and barely cracked two of his windows open, his tail still puffed up with anxiety as she sighed with displeasure. "You can't just wait this out you silly little pup, you need a release in order for it to go away."
"Re... release?"
Miko blinked once then once more. As if she finally came to a realization, a smug smile grew, her purple eyes glowing with amusement. "Don't tell me this is your first rut, dear Gorou?"
Rut. He heard of it before, the desire to breed whoever his body had chosen as his sworn mate. His father had mentioned it long ago when he was a young teenager but he originally thought that he was excluded from the effects. Why did you have to pop up now, out of all times?
"I'm surprised that you haven't jumped on your beloved leader when it started, I must applaud you for the amount of self-control you have in yourself." Clapping her hands in false praise, he was tempted to snap back at his other boss for assuming that he would ever treat Her Excellency that way when a knock filled the room. Her attention was now at the front door, one of her ears twitching with interest.
"Afternoon Gorou! I have something I want to tell you, may I come in?" He wanted to tear his ears right out of his head, the same uncomfortable warmth bleeding through his skin like an infection. He could already feel the starting familiar stir within the confines of his bandages. He felt like screaming or crying, maybe even both.
Out of all times?! Miko made her way towards the door before he could realize it and nearly opened it, cracks of the outside sunlight peering through. His body collided with the heavy wooden door without him realizing how speedily he reached it, a startled and surprised cry coming out of the other side as he slammed it back shut. Fuck, you sounded so cute.
"Gorou? Are you alright?" You asked, concern lacing within your words and he chuckled internally, already imagining your eyebrows scrunching together.
"Y-yes, I'm fine! Sorry about that, I tripped on my... m-my rut— I mean my rug— yes, my r-rug." He winced afterwards, embarrassed of his unprofessional behavior. A stifled giggle was heard behind him and a low growl came out of him in return, blue eyes narrowed as he shot a look at the pink-haired kitsune.
"Um, okay. Is it fine for me to come in then?" He could feel his hard-on throb, the lack of touch and urge to be in something warm irritating him. Yet the Guuji was still in the room, waiting for him to be finished with this conversation, as much as he still wanted to talk to you. His forehead pressed against the door, eyes closed as he tried to imagine what you looked like behind there.
"No, sorry not today. I-I'm awfully busy, paperwork's been piling up." He was met with silence and then a soft sigh, the tip of his tail twitching.
"Oh. Okay, sorry to bother you again Gorou. I..." There was a light sound of shuffling and two turns, as if you had something else to say. "I'll — um — I'll ask you another day then. Good luck."
The sounds of dirt crushing under your boots slowly began to fade away and he finally let out a relieving sigh, laughter exploding behind him and suddenly all his nerves were on high once more.
"Hah! You haven't chosen the priestess, you chose a soldier. A nice smelling one at least. Why haven't you made your move huh? I'm losing precious Mora because of your interest in her." Miko teased, the sound of her sandals clicking on the floor as she moved around in the small space.
"First of all, I would be abusing my authority. I'd just be taking advantage of her and her respect towards me, God knows if she'd report me for being an absolute disgusting pervert." His fist clenched against the door, waiting for his body to calm down before he faced the fox yokai. Every little cell was begging for him to go and chase after you, to finally, finally claim you as his. A small voice of logic had still made its presence known however, whispering the futures of every consequence that could occur if he had chosen to follow his urges.
"Play your cards right then doggy, you have all the power and control compared to her. And it seems that your patience is waning thin." She ruffled through his bed and with the tips of her fingers, she carefully fished out a small piece of cloth from behind his pillow, a deep color of scarlet burning in his cheeks as he finally turned towards her.
It was an accident, he didn't mean to grab it when he was making his normal rounds. He wasn't supposed to be near the bathhouse but his thoughts were suddenly clouded with a searing appetite, one that he was unable to resist. He didn't even realize that he had grabbed the neatly folded white panty from the bench, his conscious suddenly clearing when the tip of his cock was messily spilling pre-cum all over it when he made it to his home.
Gorou snatched it from her and shoved it into his pocket, a furious snarl suddenly slipping through his bared teeth. He himself jumped at the sheer sound of it, putting another hand over his lips as Miko stared at him in shock before laughing once more.
"This is why I hired you, you keep surprising me general." She sighed pleasantly after, pretending to wipe a tear. She was extremely humored with his heinous actions, as if she didn't care at all that what he was doing was any short of shameful. Miko made her way finally out, her hand on the knob not before looking back at her underling.
"And Gorou?" He flinched, his shoulders tensed.
"Yes?"
"My advice is get rid of your rut, no matter what it takes. You don't want to hurt that little soldier, right? So get her in your bed before your instincts do."
‘•.¸♡ ♡¸.•’'•.¸♡ ♡¸.•’'•.¸♡ ♡¸.•’
Even if Miko had told him he should, Gorou couldn't bring himself to do it.
He had merely yielded, telling Her Excellency that he hadn't been feeling well recently and she agreed to let him sort himself through his "illness". She gave him some remedies and medicines, occasionally checking in on him when she wasn't busy planning. None of her treatments were working but she never gave up. News of him succumbing to a sudden sickness had spread through the ranks but their Divine Priestess had told them not to bother him while he was recovering, which he deeply appreciated.
He had locked himself in whenever she left, placing a chair against the knob to prevent any outsiders from entering and each of the windows were nailed shut. Even if he did open a window for a needed draft, he'd still be burning awfully hot. Plus, he didn't need the others to know why he was moaning and groaning in supposed pain. It sucked, everything about this sucked. Maybe if he had just a small taste of you, everything would go back to normal.
No. From the start, nothing about you was normal to him. Every time he thought about you, the heat would get worse and his already-sore dick would swell back to life. Were you thinking about him right now? Did you miss him? Gorou wasn't the type to get envious easily, but the rise of his rut enhanced those feelings to the max. He despised the image about you moving on to other soldiers, especially the higher ups. None of them were as kind and thoughtful as he was, clawing at his pillows at the idea of your sparkly eyes looking at someone else.
He couldn't do much to keep you away from those men, all he was able to do was finish up what he was behind with for Yae Miko and rest everything away, relieving what he can without a complete release. Would the ache go away if he finally did cum? Ugh, part of him wished she had explained this thing to him more but having your boss explain the birds and the bees for their kind would be horrifyingly embarrassing.
Nighttime rolled into the camp once more, his eyes shut in frustration and his hands restlessly grabbing and pushing around his sheets. He couldn't sleep, the pangs getting worse and his brain continuously fogging. If he went on a walk to try and clear his mind, he didn't trust himself not to walk into the sleeping quarters and not take you right there. So he decided to bathe instead, running cold water until it reached the right amount.
Since he wasn't on duty at the moment, there was no hassle in removing his garments, though he did keep the bandage wrappings on since somewhat helped control his urges. He carefully unraveled the cloth, shuddering as his already hardened cock sprung out of its restraints and lightly tapped against the skin beneath his belly button. Trying to ignore it, he stepped into the tub and sighed in relief as the water chilled his overheated body.
Only a few seconds passed by and he couldn't resist not looking. Observing himself, he felt strangely foreign seeing a swollen ball near the base of his dick as he bathed in the cool water of his tub. It was just as sensitive as the rest of him, exhaling a quiet whimper as his fingers brushed against it. As if something nefarious had suddenly grabbed ahold of him, his hand slowly wrapped around the shaft above the rounded flesh and began to stroke himself, the water rippling as he shivered from the feeling.
This was the first time he ever touched himself in this manner, his head arching against the rim as he tediously ran his thumb over the reddened, leaking tip. Despite the water, he could feel the smooth glide of the slick that was continuously leaking out of him. His canines gnawing at the side of his lips, eyes focused on the languid strokes. It was almost torturously slow pace, a building pressure forming at the pit of his lower abdomen.
This was bad, very bad. He needed to stop right now before he crossed a line into sin, an inescapable downturn into hell itself. But it felt so good, so so good.
Gorou panted, his mind forming the image that you were in the bath with him, that you were the one slowly stroking him off. He could feel the heat crawl up his chest to his cheeks, seeing your hooded gaze on him. Despite your training, your hands were always so soft compared to his callused hands. Was it because of the lotion that you used after bathing? God he missed your scent, the panty that he took was already losing your smell.
He let out a low groan as he thought about your flowery aroma and without thinking, he started to mutter your name. His hips bucked against his hand, the bulbous swelling preventing him from going further down to the base. With every rough movement, the water splashed out of the tub.
He imagined you teasing him, telling him that he's going to run the tub dry if he kept on moving so much. Still pretending that you were his hand, he began to pick up his pace, your name on his lips growing louder and louder. You called him a filthy general, asking him how he could think of you in such a way for a lowly soldier, simple cannon fodder. You then asked him why he decided to steal your used panty and he only could muster up a weak apology. He begged you not to tell the others, not to tell Her Excellency that he wanted you, that he thought of you for so long that it was poisoning him and his very soul. Gorou wanted you so badly but you were unobtainable, someone he could never touch. He loves his job, he really does but he loves you even more.
You finally kissed him, the faint traces of his ghastly imagination touching his lips. His pathetic chanting ceased as a blinding white painted his vision, his face contorting and crying out in agonizing pleasure. The waves of his sudden orgasm flowed through his veins as he gripped the side of the tub. He felt the material crack under his palm, bits of it crumbling onto his fingertips. His ears flattened against the side of his head and his tail had wrapped itself tightly around his leg, his breathing uneven and slow.
Gorou finally opened his eyes, his mouth still parted open in a quiet breathless pant as he looked down into the water. A white substance flowed around him, his red face contorting to mild disgust. Short feelings of drowsiness and a small sense of relief that the pain was gone ebbed throughout his body. He unwrapped his hand from his shaft, slightly twitching from the lost feeling.
In a slow realization, he then registered that the burning simply did not die out. No, it almost felt like it had gotten worse. The warmth crawled up his stomach and flushed around his face, the once-cold water now displeasingly lukewarm. He could imagine the sinking fangs of Orobaxi pierce his soul and label him as tainted, a sinner. A small part of him felt no regret, that this is what was meant to happen but most of him — if not all — had a sinking, devastated feeling. He shouldn't have done this, especially with you in mind.
There was a small knock on the door as he got out of the tub from his second bath, almost inaudible if he hadn't had these ears of his.
Weird. No one should be up around this hour, they would most certainly get in trouble if he catches them. He huffed, rolling his eyes. Pranking the sick general, are we? Gorou quickly wrapped himself up with a towel tightly around his waist, approaching the front door with light caution.
"Hello? State your name and purpose." He called out through the closed door, ears perked and twitching around for any signs of life. Maybe it was just a passing animal.
"Gorou? It's just me, Y/N. Are you okay?" Fuck. He's so utterly fucked.
"Uh y-yeah, why wouldn't I be? You shouldn't be out of the sleeping quarters, I won't be able to save you if you get caught." He tried to be as stern as possible but the growing mass underneath his towel was starting to make it difficult to think.
You softly laughed and he could imagine you shaking your head. "Don't worry, I'm sneakier than you think. And I wanted to check on you because I heard yelling coming from your direction. I... I got worried since you're still ill."
Gorou's heart was leaping out of joy. You were thinking about him? Of course you'd worry about him, it was part of your character wasn't it? He could feel his hands grasp at the chair holding the door, almost tempted to rip it out of the way.
"I know I'm not the best at medicinal assistance like Her Excellency but I want to help you. I feel bad not being able to do much besides train without your guidance." You quietly mentioned and his mind suddenly blanked, the heat crawling up his nerves and limbs.
"I do need your help actually."
"Y-you do? Well, I'll do anything to help you get better sir."
Anything, huh?
Gorou pulled the chair away from the door and opened the door, finally seeing you. The glow of his lantern-lit room highlighted your features, admiring seeing your hair down and your sleeping attire loose on your body. He couldn't be more grateful for your naïve willingness. His little idiotic soldier.
He grabbed your shoulder and tugged you into his home, almost slamming the door shut before you could have any change of mind. Your eyes widened as you soon realized that he was fully exposed, his towel barely covering his throbbing lower half. He let you drink in the scars and the muscles he's worked hard to achieve before he finally made a move.
"Wha—" Barely a sound was able to escape you before he collided his lips against yours, bodies toppling over into the wooden ground. In the haze of his lust, he felt terrible that you may have hit your head onto the ground but your mouth was so warm and your lips were so plush that all of his empathy was washed away.
His hands grabbed at the thin pajama pants the military provided for every soldier and ripped them off of you. He made quick work at removing his towel, his heavily aroused cock springing out and brushing against your covered cunt. He could see through hooded eyes that although you were most definitely confused, your fear could barely hide the arousal pooling behind your pupils.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry." He whispered frantically against your lips as he tore off the white panties, almost salivating as he felt his tip catch onto your bare warmth. A few ruts against your pussy lips and he could already feel some slick gather against his shaft, not knowing if you were getting aroused or that was just his own pre-cum leaking down and making a complete mess.
Slowly or at least, as slowly as he thought he was going, he pushed the head inside. A long and relieved whine came out of him and your back arched, body pressing against his as you cried out from the sudden intrusion. Swiftly, his mouth enveloped yours to quiet you down. It would be a shame if any other soldiers made their way to his home, but then again, he could make them disappear without a single trace left behind. Curiosity is such a fickle thing to have as a soldier, it could end them up dead in a nameless pit or in your instance, speared by a horny general.
His head threw back as he began to thrust shallowly in quick succession, the knot preventing him from going any deeper much to his displeasure. Gorou had never felt such an indulgence in his life, he thought his little session in the tub earlier was everything but this? He could live with the sins building upon his shoulders as long as he could relish in your warmth for eternity.
Your hands gripped on the rug above you, clawing and grasping at it for dear life, moaning aloud as his cock dragged against your walls. The blouse that you were wearing was slowly loosening with every sharp movement he made against you, revealing your chest that he could never bear to look at before. He peeled back the fabric and grabbed one of your breasts, squeezing once before leaning in and sucking on the pert nipple.
His tail twitched in bold satisfaction as you started to whine out his name, begging him to go deeper.
"Yeah? You want that soldier?" His voice rumbled against your nipple, feeling you clench around his shaft as he spoke.
"Y-yes! Please, please just a little more." Obeying, he snapped his hips harder against the plushness of your thighs, the knot pushing and budging against your tight hole. You hissed at the sudden realization of the circular muscle swollen around the bottom of his shaft, but you didn't try to stop him.
Would it fit? No, it had to fit. You will fit him. His hands grabbed your hips, pulling you in until you were flushed against his waist. His mouth left your chest, moving towards muscle in between your neck and shoulder. Gorou wasn't going to leave you unmarked, the whole goddamn camp was going to know who he knocked his pups into. It would serve some good to the island, Orobaxi would be pleased to have new followers right?
"Gonna fuck — hah — gonna fuck you up, breed you full of cum. You're my mate, mine." He growled into your ear before he bit down into your flesh. At the same time, he forced his knot into you and clawed the plushness of your hips.
Your pussy stretched and gripped around the enlarged knot, trying to accommodate the sudden thickness. He could barely see your eyes rolling to the back of your head as you came, your walls spasming and milking his cock for his hot cum. Wanton moans were the only noise you were able to make as he continued to fuck deeply into you, his tongue licking at the inflicted mark.
The same pressure in his lower stomach that he felt in the tub overrode his system and he pushed his dick in a little more, feeling the tip hit against a barrier. White stars blinded his vision immediately, his body shivering and shaking as he came hard into your womb. He took in heavy breaths, resting his head in the crook of your neck.
The burning was gone, he could finally feel the air in his room as it cooled down both of your bodies. It was gone but he wasn't done yet, no, he was far from it. Now that he had finally had a taste, he wasn't going to let you leave, not when he had bound himself to you. Figuratively and literally.
His pupils were blown out with pleasure, the blue color barely making its presence known as he began to kiss up your neck. You were barely there, eyes heavy with sleep but still groaning as he began to move once more, walls too sensitive to handle anymore. That's okay, he would breed you in your sleep if he had to.
" 'm gonna put more pups into you." His words slurred as he lazily thrusted, his knot pulling and pushing into a particular nerve bundle. You could only whine in agreement, completely engrossed and fucked out on his cock as you quivered from the stimulation.
Gorou will take real good care of you. What was he thinking before? A general always will need his soldier, what a fool he was for trying to believe that he never wanted you. A rope can only be tightened so much before it inevitably snaps. You belonged here in his home, warming his bed so he could take you whenever he returned from the battlefield. He picked his head up from your neck, kissing you deeply once more.
You were truly a heaven-sent blessing, weren't you? As fate may have it, he had hope that Orobaxi and Her Excellency would bless the both of you with a beautiful litter.

Good morning, Pickle. My second request for the day. Please kindly consider this angsty Gorou request: Gorou can only watch as you exchange nuptial cups with Heizou. He know he has no right to stop the wedding, not when he was the one who broke up with you to woo Kokomi, only to find out later that she was only using him to get her parents off her back about her being single.
Please also kindly take as long as you need with this request; I have no qualms in waiting. Furthermore, by no means feel obligated to prioritize this request over your other requests.
regret ☆ gorou
CHARACTERS: gorou x reader
SYNOPSIS: gorou dumps you for kokomi (っ- ‸ - ς)
GENRE: angst 🦢
W/C: 0.8k
T/W: cussing, breaking up, cheating (if there’s any i missed let me know!)
A/N: bro i hate exams (˚ ˃̣̣̥⌓˂̣̣̥ ) my next one will also probably take eons to complete….
“WHAT THE FUCK GOROU.”
SMACK
you touch the now red mark on your face. it stings, but the ache in your heart is worse. “never talk about kokomi like that again,” gorou says with a stern tone. “tch, YOUR kokomi? i have never seen her look at you for more than 2 seconds outside of a meeting.” youre now pissed off due to gorou’s stupidity, but you cant help but feel a bit jealous, well, kokomi did just steal your lover’s heart with just a snap of her fingers.
gorou’s tail looks stiff, you notice that he does that when hes uncomfortable or angry, you take note of this. you might regret what youre going to say, but a river cannot stop flowing just because of a small inconvenience. you shall see where the future takes you. “if i upset you that much then i’ll leave. goodbye gorou,” you want to cry but your dignity tells you not to; you grab your wallet and head out the door.
before you completely close the door, you can hear a whimper, and it’s not yours.
it’s sunny outside, youre not sure if you should be grateful that theres no rain to make you feel worse, or if you should feel bad that the rest of inazuma is having a great time without you. although, no matter how clear the day was, you still manage to bump into someone.
“y/n? oh my archons, it is you! how have you been?” says the mysterious voice. “heizou?” tears are finally dripping down.
…
you slightly grip the cups in your hands, youre so excited that youre scared that the sake might spill. the moment slips by like a flash and youre already taking your last sip. you look up to see your husband, hes grinning ear to ear and so are you.
heizou looks so lovely when hes happy, but now you can see all of his emotions, whether if hes happy, sad, jealous, angry, disgusted, confused, you can see all of it and only you.
you look into the crowd, all of your friends and family are there, heizou’s side as well. theyre happy for you.
thats when you see gorou.
beside him was Sangonomiya Kokomi, Divine Priestess of Watatsumi Island, what a mouthful, not to mention how bitter the title tasted in your mouth. gorou’s tail was stiff, you wonder why; his eyes were also glistening, such pretty eyes shouldnt cry….
WAITWAITWAIT
nononono, youre literally having your wedding ceremony right now, what are you thinking?…
your wedding ceremony has ended, you and heizou are now officially married.
gorou’s perspective:
“gorou? are you okay?” kokomi asks, “u-uhm yea, im fine,” gorou stutters a bit. what if he was the one up there with you. what if he was up there exchanging nuptial cups with you.
“hey kokomi?” gorou asks, “yes gorou?” kokomi responds, “im gonna get some fresh air, i’ll be right back,” kokomi nods her head, gorou presses a kiss on her forehead then exits.
he feels guilty. he kissed kokomi while thinking about you, no, he thought about you every waking second and you even appeared in his dreams. a few tears roll down his eyes. is he happy for you or jealous of heizou? all of these emotions swirling around him, and he cant tell which one hes feeling.
he feels a hand in his shoulder. he jumps, hes a bit startled, it’s you…
you look so lovely, the fabric, the design, the jewels, and just the everything made you look heavenly. he picks up a scent that he always longed for, it was yours, he just never realized it.
“were you crying gorou?…” he feels more tears coming up, did he miss you that much?
“congratulations y/n, uhm… we ended on a bad note, look i just wanna say that ‘m sorry.” a small smile appears on your face, “apology accepted, that was the past, lets focus on the present,” you gently squeeze gorou’s hand. “lets catch up some other time, yea?” you said, “y-yea,” and with that you disappeared. he feels empty.
“there you are!” kokomi’s voice rings through his ears. “m-my love!” gorou says, becoming stiff again, “look gorou, we need to talk,” her words feel stiff, uncomfortable even. “of course! anything! what do you need to talk about?” gorou asks.
“…lets split up gorou.”
….
“eh?” hes dumbfounded. “lets break up,” nonono this cant be happening, “why?… i thought you were happy, were you not?” gorou’s life was already falling apart, this was just the breaking point. “look, gorou, i have strict parents that expect me to produce… offspring, i would like to label this event ‘traumatic’ so they’ll stop bothering me for the time being. my condolences.”
why bother anymore?
NOTE FOR SAILORSTAR9: i literally had no idea what nuptial cups were before this (´∇`'')

“You should take a break, ‘Yato. You’ve been working for hours nonstop.” You said, concerned about your boyfriend. He seemed like he’d had enough, the expression on his face anything but pleasant. Wanting him to unwind for a bit, you suggested, “Maybe we could go for a short walk along the beach? That would surely freshen you up a bit.”
“Get out.” he said coldly, eyes never leaving the countless papers scattered around his desk. “You’re disturbing me. These papers have to reach the Shogun by nightfall, I don’t have to time to rest, and you’re suggesting a walk? Idiot. Can you not see how busy I am?” He hadn’t had a break in ages, was completely sleep deprived (like me), big bags under his eyes and incredibly pissed off in general, increasing your worry for him. You tried again. “‘Yato, that’s why I’m saying you should relax for a bit. Some fresh air would do you good, you’re very agitated right now.” “Of course I am!” He snapped, slamming his hands on his cluttered desk as he stood to look at you. “You’ve been such a nuisance recently, you know that? Always nagging me, ‘Yato do this, ‘Yato do that. Can’t you take a hint and leave me alone?”
He missed the hurt that flashed in your eyes as you swiveled around. “Alright, Ayato, I’ll leave you alone.” You immediately left and banged the door shut behind you. And leave him alone you certainly did.
~⟬◍⟭~
It was early dawn, and the cold grey light filtered through the windows of Ayato’s dark office. He’d been there the entire night, and had just managed to dispatch that set of papers to Inazuma City. Leaning back in his chair, he thought of how you’d scold him for his unhealthy habits, before he remembered the way he’d snapped at you, and the hurtful things he’d said. Shit, he didn’t mean any of that, if anything, it touched him how you always looked out for him. He really owed you an apology, big time. He walked out of the office for the first time since yesterday’s lunch, and went straight to your quarters, knocking on the door. “Love, are you there? Can I talk to you?” He received no response. “Love?” He tried again.
Just then Thoma passed by, confused on seeing Ayato knocking fruitlessly on your door. “Milord, [Y/N] isn’t here. I believe she mentioned yesterday night that she was going out for a bit, somewhere around Watatsumi Island? It was weird, but she was also acting weird so I let her be. She also added that she had some urgent business there.”
“Oh..” Ayato murmured. “Alright.” But his heart did not calm down, the bad feeling in the pit of his stomach increasing. You two were dating. Surely you’d come back, right? Right?
~⟬◍⟭~
Wrong. It had been days, yet you still hadn’t returned. Ayato grew more and more worried with every passing hour. Were you safe? You hadn’t been ambushed or anything, had you? Were you upset? Were you angry with him? Had he really messed up that bad? Surely he didnt…
A week passed, and Ayato couldn’t take it anymore. He handed over the duties of the Yashiro Commission to Ayaka for a while, and set off for Watatsumi Island on a waverider in the dead of night. It took him an entire day to reach there, frantically searching for his beloved along the way. The moment he docked on the shores of Watatsumi Island, he immediately started searching around for your whereabouts, not even caring about hunger or thirst. Fear was the only thing he felt, a fear of you leaving him. The soldiers looked so confused on seeing the Yashiro Commissioner running around, but did not question it. One helpful recruit told him that she was wandering near the Sangonomiya Shrine, and off he was.
“[Y/N]!” He exclaimed, on finally, finally, catching sight of you sitting beneath a tree, a butterfly perched on your finger. The loud sound he made startled away the butterfly, and you looked up at him, before getting up and walking away without a word. “[Y/N], wait please, can I talk to you, please?” He pleaded, catching up to you. You merely shook off his hand and continued walking. “Why are you here, Kamisato Ayato.” You said coldly. “Your wish was for me to leave you alone, and I did that. Why are you following me then?” “[Y/N], I messed up, I know, can you please hear me out? I never meant any of that, I really didn’t, I swear. I was just really anxious and irritated and worried, and I let it out on you. I swear, I’ve been regretting it with every fibre of my being. I love you, you know that, I love you so much, you can never be a nuisance to me, in fact, you’re my saving grace. If I could take back everything I said, if I could turn back time, I would. [Y/N], please, could you forgive me? Please come back to me? I can’t live without you…”
Your eyes involuntarily softened as you stepped back a bit to observe him. He seemed even more tired and upset than the last time you’d seen him, if that was even possible. But this time, there was desperation painted on his features. “Ayato, you really hurt me, you know that right? I was worried for you, all I was trying to do was help you out. So when you snapped at me, I felt really terrible.” You told him quietly. He instantly said, “I know, I realised that. You have no idea how much I appreciate you always looking out for me. I never ever wanted to hurt you. I’m sorry… I’m really, really sorry [Y/N].” He whispered.
You sighed, extending your arms, hugging him tightly. “Come here, ‘Yato.” , and his heart nearly burst on hearing that nickname again after more than a week. He buried his face in your neck, relishing that warm and soft embrace of yours after so long. You gently ran your hands through his hair. “Apology accepted. But you better not do it again, or else-” “I won’t.” He quickly said. “Did I tell you how much I love that nickname?”
You returned with him to the Yashiro Estate, and ever since then, Ayato had been so much sweeter, always minding his words, and spoiling you rotten, despite your protests. But you accepted it, happy to be with your caring boyfriend again.
hehe kazu, i hoped you liked it, even tho its not much :)

SAGAU Reverse Isekai W/ 'Zhongli'
Okay, so I came up with this idea months ago, and I plan to finish it but I have no inspiration right now. I'll make a part 2... Eventually...
Ft. Zhongli and 'Zhongli'
Tw. AFAB Reader (but pronouns aren't mentioned); Ends on an angsty cliffhanger that I remember made me cry
Published: December 31, 2023
Words: 1,044
Pages: 2.9
Okay, I don't know why, but I just had this idea where an AFAB reader/you gets isekai'd into genshin while pregnant, and in a matter of a couple months to a few years, you fall in love with and marry Zhongli. And like, maybe Zhongli revealed himself to secretly have been Rex Lapis/Morax, but I have this other idea where only the vessels of the Creator know. It doesn't really matter, this is only backstory to the main idea.
Anyways, you give birth to a healthy baby boy (also don't know why but it specifically has to be a boy), who grows up to be just like his step-dad Zhongli (who you had an army of kids with). And, for some reason, he disappeared, and it's soon discovered that he was sucked back into your original(?) world. You instantly want to go after him, but Zhongli stops you, worried that you going back to a world where you were powerless will make you powerless again, and you won't be able to come back.
And so you two decide to build robots in your stead. One for you and one for him. You, obviously, go to the original Raiden Ei for help (reluctantly if it's Imposter AU), and she gives you all these tips and tricks. And, with some of Albedo's help, you replicate a controller and monitor so you and Zhongli can puppet your robots. But in the event that the connection cuts, you go to Sangonomiya Kokomi and ask her to make a pair of manuals that will eventually be turned into the robot's AIs. Manuals specifically made to not only replicate your and Zhongli's personalities, but also act as everyday people in your homeworld. She does. And with Raiden's (and maybe Albedo, Kaveh, and Dottore's) help, you put it into the robots. Then you dress the bots in inconspicuous clothing and send them off.
Also, in the background, you figured out how to make a portal back to your world with Albedo, Dottore, and some other's help.
Anyways, just as Zhongli worried, the connection to the robots is immediately severed. And while the real you and Zhongli are left to worry, the robotic you and Zhongli interlock their arms, and start their journey. These are our main characters.
And they- you-- are very adorable. You talk to each other quietly, with you in wonder of the tech and food native to this world- even though you're both too busy to eat the food. And Zhongli's got this loving look on his face, and he wishes he could spend this new experience staring at your beautiful face. But he's made a contract with his real self to find his lost son, and he must complete it. For now, he can only chime in with his own wonder of the world. Of the cars, motorcycles, shopping centres, cafes, and fast-food places.
It takes a while to do find the son, with just over two weeks passing by. Over two weeks of endless searching, through day and night and wind and rain. But eventually, you find him, and the boy is ecstatic to see his parents. It's a bit heart-pinching to see someone shout for you and have them run up to you and wrap you in a tight, love-filled hug. Kinda makes you want your own kid- a kid not belonging to another version of you- that does that. And you feel a bit guilty as you and Zhongli have to lie to him and pretend that you are his parents.
Then your group starts the journey back to where you first appeared in this world. Where the real you has been opening a portal for an hour every sunrise and sunset. This also takes a bit of time, with breaks to get frankly delicious meals that Zhongli convinces people to pay for. And a break for a cheap, one-bed motel room that Zhongli also talks his way into acquiring. It's there that you and Zhongli break the news to the boy. Of course, the boy is shocked and mildly heartbroken, but understands. The both of you give him the bed for the night, and opt to cuddle as he sleeps.
Zhongli, before you can even bend, picks you up and sits on the floor, his back resting against the room's walls. You can't help but snuggle into him, resting your head on his shoulder as he tightens his arms around your waist. And you look up into his eyes, amazed by his beauty, and he looks down into yours, amazed by your beauty. And the two of you get lost in one another's eyes, loving every moment of it, and only ever breaking apart to press silent kisses on one another's lips. You two stay like that the entire night, entirely lost in love and never wanting to come out of it.
The next day is just a copy and paste of the first. You continue back to the portal, with breaks to get frankly delicious meals that Zhongli convinces people to pay for. And a break for a cheap, one-bed motel room that Zhongli also talks his way into acquiring. But the night is different from yesterday's night, as when the boy goes to bed, you both silently realize that when the boy returns home, your only task will be completed. There will be no reason for either of you to keep existing, and while Their Grace and His Lord are merciful, you know the people of Teyvat hate those with the Creator's face. The two of you know that your Creators will be kind in giving you quick deaths, but neither of you can stand the other dying.
Still, the both of you were made for a purpose. To find the lost Prince of Teyvat and return him to his parents. So you both continue with the journey. Never uttering anything on the topic, and only acknowledging it when the boy is sleeping. And even then, the most the two of you do is look into one another's eyes tearfully, exchanging sad, sloppy, kisses…
...Yeah, sorry for ending it like this.

hi can u do one where how they would react when reader takes off rheir shirt and it reveals like a hella fit body w abs also inazuma girls(fem please<3)
Hi! Ofc I can, I'd love to! Hope you'll be satisfied! (Btw I was a little confused because you didn't mention which specific characters you want to see, but that's okay, I think.) Also if you want me to do part 2 with other characters, you can just ask and, if that's not too much trouble, please, mention which ones characters you want to see. <3 (Sorry for long wait, I was sick and then was busy with school, haha... Also sorry for any mistakes in text.)
Inazuma girls reacting on you taking off your shirt revealing a fit body (F! Reader)
Characters: Ei, Yae Miko, Sangonomiya Kokomi.
Ei
You always liked how Ei is when she's fighting. So strong and powerful, so elegant and fast, so serious and determined. She was incredible, to be honest. You admired her everytime when you asked her to show some of her training. You always sit on the floor not too far away but to be in a safe zone and look. Your elegant and soft Ei was turning into a merciless soldier, focusing on her battle with a puppet because only Raiden Shogun is able to keep up with her destructive rhythmic pace.
They fight for hours before Ei hops back raising her sword and says "Enough for now." and Shogun nods before leave. Then Ei always approaches you and sits down near you with a light smile on her face when she notices your adored gaze. She listens to your excitement about how awesome she was back there and tells you stories from her past.
That day was exact the same. But today you wanted to do something. And the thought itself was making you squirm on the floor in anticipation of the end of the training.
When the training was over, Ei sat down near you and sligtly smiled as she saw your smile. "That was SO cool, Ei!" you said. "Can you teach me something of that?" that slightly startled Ei. You? Wish to train? You was so sweet, so fragile in her eyes, she wanted to protect you from all the evil. But yet, she wants you to be happy, so your wish is her command. "Okay, if you want so," she said, making you jump out of excitement. She stood up with you. "Let's see how skillful you are first, alright? I won't be too hard on you." Ei said with the sword in her hand as she waits for you to take one of the swords in the room.
But what she didn't expect is for you to take your shirt off. Her eyes got a little wider as she didn't know the purpose of it. Her eyes wandered along your torso, abs. White crop top looks good on your surprisingly fit body. Ei could feel the heat on her cheeks as you throwed your shirt on your seat spot and started limbering up. Wow. You looked pretty much stronger now and less fragile than she thought before. Your little smile was sweet as always, but now more determined, confident.
As you done preparing for the little sparring, you grabbed one of the swords and took a fighting stand in front of Ei. She, on the other hand, shook her head to stop staring at you because, Dear Archons, you really looked surprisingly beautiful and strong. And if there's something that Ei likes in human, it's strength and determination. And you looked pretty determined and excited.
Let's just say that the training went very calm and relaxed and after this Ei sat down and asked about where you learned to fight and get that fit body. No naughty intentions, she really is just curious.
Yae Miko
It was a pretty busy day for the shrine, everyone was busy with something: cleaning, helping people that was coming from time to time. You came to visit Yae and you really didn't know why you was with Yae Miko in one of the shrine's rooms, but one look at her was enough for you to know that she's up for no good. She just suddenly took your hand once she saw you and led you in the shrine without greeting or even explanation. And now she stood up in front of you with her usual playful and sly smirk. You looked like a bunny, cornered by a fox. Her hands were behind her back, she clearly holds something in them. "Um... Miko? What are you up to now?" you asked, making her playful smirk get wider as she let out a soft chuckle, looking right into your eyes.
And then she hands you folded clothes. And suddenly you realized what she wants. She wanted you to help her in the shrine, because they were running out of free hands. You let out soft "Oh..." that made her giggle. "Well? Are you up to it?" Miko asked, raising her eyebrow. You only laughed light heartedly and nodded. "Fine, I'll help." You took the clothes and turned your back to her to change your clothes.
As you took your shirt off, Miko hums with playful surprise and that makes you turn to face her with a raised eyebrow in a silent question. Yae smiled slyly with a soft chuckle as her eyes admired your form as you stood there in your bra. "Something's wrong?" you asked. Yae shook her head with a smile. "Nothing. I just didn't expect my little flower to look so strong and beautiful. You look pretty amazing," she says with a slight sparkle in her eyes, and her words made you blush slightly as you quickly turned around and continued changing your clothes. Your blush didn't go unnoticed by Yae Miko and that made her laugh in amusement. "Clearly precious little flower. Guess I'll need to watch closely so no one will try to take you away from me because of how adorable and stunning you are." She adds with a sly smirk.
All the time you walked on the territory of the shrine, you always could feel her looking at you. But at least no one bothered you or made you uncomfortable.
Sangonomiya Kokomi
Kokomi was coming home pretty tired last few days. You was understanding, she has a lot of work to do everyday, but you still hated to see your beloved in such state. So you took care of her every single day when she was like this: cooking her favorite meal, preparing a hot bath for her or giving her a massage as she falls asleep from your loving and gentle touch that never failed to make her worries and troubles melt away and just feel safe, relaxed and at home.
But today she managed to take a little day off to just relax and spend some more time with you. Finally, you had a pleasure of seeing her face instead of empty side of the bed when you woke up. She was sleeping peacefully, her lips slightly parted as her breathing slow and calm. You looked at her for a couple of minutes before standing up to cook her a breakfast. You already got whole day planned for both of you, you wanted it to be lazy day, but still fun and interesting.
After both of you ate your breakfast, you decided to watch some TV and after whole day filled with cuddles, movies and eating snacks, you asked Kokomi if she wants to go and swim a little, and you was ecstatic when she agreed. You both grabbed your swimsuits (you also grabbed your sword, because it can be unsafe and you will always make sure to protect your precious girl) and after some time you both was on the shore.
You was happy to see Kokomi smiling because the place was quiet and so beautiful.
While she was admiring the view, you decided to take your casual clothes off, because you both put on your swimsuits under your clothes before heading out to this place. (sorry, I really rarely go to swim even at the summertime, so this can be quite unlogical)
When Kokomi turned to face you, her jaw dropped. You was standing in your swim suit, and damn your body looked pretty fit and strong. You looked like her own bodyguard now, not like her girlfriend. She looked you up and down, her face getting pretty red.
"Wow, my lovely, you look beautiful." Kokomi muttered, looking to the side, feeling a little flustered now. You only giggled, standing a little closer to her and leaving soft kiss on her forehead. "Thanks, Kokomi. Now let's have fun and swim, shall we?" You said gently. Kokomi nodded and took off her own casual clothes, standing in her swim suit as well. You gently took her hand in yours and then started running towards the water, making her laugh and laughing along. It was pretty memorible day off for both you and Kokomi.
(Kokomi deserves the best of cuddles and comfort, she's so pretty, omg...)

Catte!! <33 Something for you to think about, you mentioned a wedding comm with Mao Hua & Kokomi and I was wondering if you had any lore regarding the proposal? ^^
Omg hello Hazellll :DD Super sorry this took a while to answer but omg I've been thinking of this ever since you got it and I've been blushing and giggling whenever I think of it 🫣😳 /pos
In truth the proposal was a lil funny ( but still super super cute !! ) because when Mao Hua was planning to propose, she knew that she wanted it to be a private thing, since she and Koko talked about it a little before, and they agreed that if (when) something like this happened, they both preferred a proposal that was just the two of them— a memory that only the two of them shared ♡♡
So for that day, Hua enlisted the help of Kokomi's attendants to keep her busy for the whole day while Hua got the surprise prepared ! She set up their bedroom at Sangonomiya Shrine full of flowers, and keeping the curtains and windows open to let a fresh breeze drift through the room ♡ She also made some of Kokomi's favorites for dinner — including her own fried rice, and the bird egg sushi that Koko adores— and set it all up in front of the window, so that they'd have a beautiful view for their dinner ♡ Honestly, whenever she looks back, Mao Hua gets a teeny bit embarrassed because in hindsight, the whole setup was so cliche and damn cheesy, but she doesn't regret it at all— not when she remembers the awed and touched look on Kokomi's face when she entered their bedroom and saw the flowers, the sunset, and Mao Hua waiting for her in the middle of it all, nervous smile on her face, hands clasped behind her back, and her tail swinging behind her.
Dinner had been an enjoyable affair, if not with an undercurrent of a feeling of something's gonna happen. Just as Hua had predicted, Kokomi had enjoyed the food and enjoyed the view, and when it was finally the time for Hua to ask Kokomi to do her the honor of becoming her wife, goodness, her hands were honestly shaking and it was the most nervous that the priestess had ever seen her! It was both terribly endearing and wholeheartedly adorable ♡ Mao Hua even got on one knee in front of her, giving her a smile (though it was wobbly and undoubtedly nervous) as she said, this is how the people nowadays do it, isn't it? as she pulled out a pretty golden ring— simple in nature, but no less beautiful, and with a number of glittering white crystals decorating it tastefully.
And, to Hua's surprise, Kokomi giggled at first, though the sound was almost a sob (in the best way) even as she laughs. And the adeptus is confused at first— until Kokomi goes to one of her drawers and, after rummaging around in it, produces her own gorgeous silver ring— one that's pretty and yet demure in it's beauty. One that Mao Hua falls in love with isntantly.
"I was planning to ask you next week," Kokomi laughs, crystalline tears of joy dotting her eyes as she walks back over to where Mao Hua still kneels on the floor, sharp green eyes widened and looking so soft as she gazes at the ring in Kokomi's hand. The priestess takes a knee as well in front of the adeptus, her smile a tiny, private thing. And when Kokomi takes her free hand in her own, Mao Hua thinks for a second that she just might cry. This priestess's smile, the love that shines in her eyes and the way that her hands hold hers so softly— it almost makes her think that she's dreaming, and she's only barely holding it together.
"I guess you beat me to it, didn't you?" Kokomi laughs softly, and in an instant, Mao Hua crumbles in her hands.
#「 🥂 」 cherry.wine#「 🪷🫧 」 KokoHua / KokoCatte#「 🍓 」 Fave Flavor !! [tbd]#AJHSBDA LOL IM SORRY I YAPPED HARD ON THIS KASNDJKASNK#but omg thank you so so much for the ask hazel >< I enjoyed thinking about the kokohua proposal so so much !!! ♡♡#no but people dont expect it lol but Mao Hua is 100& the one who cries more often in their relationship lol#If koko returns her affections and love even the tiniest bit and Hua is immediately fighting back tears lol asndjkas

My Saviour: Part 7
Another very fluff and lighthearted part! This will be a filler and a little bit of a plot setter. Who knows what might happen next though~ I hope you enjoy this one!
You were standing in front of the mirror, getting ready for today’s celebration. It was a very important event, for the celebration was for the Yashiro Commission, specifically for you and Ayato. The Shogun was very pleased upon hearing that Ayato had not only been successful in his task, but had also established friendly relations and managed to convince Sangonomiya Kokomi to visit Tenshukaku. As a reward, she had arranged for a celebration at the Grand Narukami Shrine, where she would bless him in the presence of all the nobles and Lady Yae Miko, as well as announce the glory of the Yashiro Commission. You were so proud of Ayato, and when he told you the news, you had personally prepared a feast for everyone in the Kamisato household, cooking everything on your own for your fiancé. That night, Ayato had missed his parents terribly, hoping that they were here to witness such a big accomplishment of his life. You had hugged him close, assuring him that they were always watching over him and must be so proud of their children.
As you were putting on your earrings, you saw Ayato enter the room, looking so handsome and enchanting that he took your breath away. He always managed to have this effect on you, and it felt like your love for him just kept increasing every single day without any limits. He smiles seeing you, approaching you as you feel his arms wrap around you, his chin resting on your head gently. “You look divine my love..” you blushed hearing his deep voice, smiling as you looked at him through the mirror. “And you look so handsome too you know..” He chuckled, placing a soft kiss on your cheek. “Why thank you Daarin. As much as I wish I could stay here with you and get lost in your everlasting beauty, I’m afraid we must have to leave now.”
You laughed and nodded, holding his hand letting him lead you outside, where you saw Ayaka give you both a bright and happy smile. Thoma was also going with you all, after all he was a very important member of the Kamisato Household. “Brother, Y/N, you’ve arrived! We should get going, or else Lady Guuji will be very upset!”
You saw Ayato roll his eyes, scoffing playfully as you all made your way up the mountain towards the shrine. “Oh that clever fox lady is going to bother me tonight.” You widened your eyes in disbelief at the way Ayato was speaking so casually about her. “Ayato!! That’s Lady Guuji you’re talking about! Dear archons, how can you call her that!” Both Ayaka and Ayato laughed at your shock; while Thoma stifled his giggles. “Oh relax my love, this is what I’ve called her since I was a child.” “That’s right, brother was always so interested in bothering Lady Yae, that she nicknamed him the Yashiro Rascal!” You ended up laughing at that, shaking your head. “Well at least today there won’t be any teasing banters between the two My Lady, for the Almighty Shogun will be present.” You nodded at Thoma’s words, a nervousness creeping up to you. You had heard a lot about the electro Archon, some good and some bad. Although the recent times proved that she had undergone a change of heart, the thought of being in her presence made you extremely anxious. Not to mention that you were Ayato’s future wife.
Feeling your fingers turn a little cold and seeing your silence, Ayato quickly figured out what was happening, and gave your hand a reassuring squeeze. “Hey hey, don’t be so nervous Daarin..I know that meeting the Shogun for the first time is nerve wracking, but everything will be fine. She has been wanting to meet you as well, seeing as you will become my wife soon. Just be yourself, you are absolutely perfect.” You smiled gratefully at his words, slowly calming down. You had your family by your side, everything would be fine. Eventually you all entered through the gates of the Grand Narukami Shrine, and you were in awe of how beautiful it is. The decorations for the event looked spectacular, and everyone turned their attention to you four as you made your way inside the shrine. You could hear a lot of whispers and mumbles among the nobles.
“So that’s the future lady of the Yashiro Commission? She does look very elegant.”
“Aaww look at the way they’re holding hands! They look so in love.”
“I think the Commissioner can get someone better.”
“Look at her, she’s so poised and elegant! Ah she reminds me of the Commissioner’s mother!”
You and Ayato smiled at everyone, while Thoma stayed close to Ayaka, not wanting anyone to get too close to her or harm her in any way. “My my, look who it is, the Yashiro Commissioner.” You heard a sly voice say, making you turn your gaze towards the Sakura Tree, where a woman with pink hair kitsune ears stood with her back faced towards you all. Ayato snickered, his tone being playful “Ah, Lady Guuji, always so welcoming and insightful. Although I must say, I have not come alone, I bring with me my Sister, my dear friend Thoma and my soon to be wife, Y/N.” you saw as her ears flickered a little, and she turned around to face you all, a smile so sweet yet so sly adorning her face. Dear archons, she really was such a fox envoy. You saw her approach you, and you gave her a polite smile, bowing in respect. “Lady Guuji. It is an honour to be in your presence.” “Oh my, such a charmer she is! So poised and elegant, she reminds me of your mother you two. Well my dear, no need to be so nervous now, I don’t bite…usually.”
You heard her giggle, seemingly proud of herself as you simply gave her another smile, not knowing what to do. “Well, I must say Yashiro Rascal, you really have outdone yourself. The shogun is very pleased with you.” You noticed how her tone had gone from sly to a little soft, and you remembered that she had seen Ayato grow up from a troublesome boy to a responsible young man. “Thank you Lady Yae, it is my honour to serve Her Excellency.” “Well enough about you, I’m more interested in how you managed to get such a beautiful and elegant girl to be your wife!” There it was again, she was back to her sarcasm. “Tell me dear, what did you like in this troublesome rascal?”
You giggled softly, looking at the love of your life and then at Miko. “He’s saved my life Lady Guuji..the reason I’m standing here today is because he chose to fight for me.” Ayato felt his heart melt at how precious you were. He knew that he would do anything and everything for you. Before Miko could reply, the guards announced that the Shogun was arriving, and everyone went quiet, taking their places. You and Ayato stood ahead, with Ayaka and Thoma just behind you both. The shogun entered the shrine, and everyone bowed in respect. “You may rise.”
Standing back up again, you saw the Almighty Shogun standing right in front of you with Miko, her eyes on both you and Ayato. You felt your heartbeat accelerate but you kept your facial expressions calm, trying to calm your nerves down. “So you must be Hiragi Y/N, the Yashiro Commissioner’s future wife.” The shogun said, and to your surprise, her voice was not as authoritative as you expected it to be. “Yes, your Excellency. I am Hiragi Y/N, and it is my greatest honour to be in your presence.” You saw her nod in acknowledgement with a small smile to you, and you were relieved to see that you had not upset her in any way. It was now time for the celebratory ceremony to begin.
Ayato stepped forward in front of the shogun and Miko, then respectfully getting down on one knee. The Sakura tree’s petals glowed, and the shogun placed her hand on his head. “The Yashiro Commissioner has outdone himself and excelled in his duties. He has fulfilled his oath and worked in the best interest of Inazuma, and he continues to show great promise. Every single person present here today must know that the Yashiro Commission and the Kamisato clan were the only ones who have been eternally faithful towards my wishes and our land of eternity. In the presence of all the nobles, your family and the sacred sakura, I bless you, Kamisato Ayato, as well as all your loved ones, and hope that your lives be filled with eternal joy. Continue your good work, and keep up your efforts. You may stand.”
As Ayato stood, the Sacred Sakura tree shed four glowing petals, each landing in the palms of you four. Everyone clapped, and you saw as Ayato came back to you, his smile so wide and his eyes filled with joy. Ayaka went and hugged him, tears escaping her eyes. “Brother, we all are so proud of you. Im sure that mother and father are here, watching you and are proud of you as well.” His amethyst eyes turned glossy with tears as he patted her head, hugging her back. You and Thoma watched with proud smiles. This moment was so perfect, full of joy and love. You held the Sakura petal close to your heart, silently wishing that your family stays this way forever, for eternity.

I posted this by accident... ;-;
Check out this prologue and this post for context!
Scenario: Talking to them about modern wars
Characters: Kujou Sara, Sangonomiya Kokomi
With your appearance and needing to protect you, combined with all the things she already has to do as part of the Tenryou Commission, you shouldn't expect her to start this conversation. She can't help but be curious sometimes, but she won't tell.
The conversation would probably start with you making an off hand comment about wars in your world, which would lead her to ask, just for the sake of it. After all, information was never bad to have as a militarist... At least, that's what she thought.
She couldn't help but wish that it was a bad joke at first, but she listened intently, and asked many questions. Some were for precautions in her line of work, others were slightly more for curiosity's sake. It's easy to tell which is which from the tone of her voice, much to her dismay.
She wanted to hear you talk about battle strategies, but sadly, the battles themselves were never the focus of general history much, to her dismay. You were able to tell her about larger strategies, however, which she did wish to hear more about.
What scared her the most were the motivations. She understood that wars were not a fight of good against evil, but even she was appalled when she heard the political issues that led to these conflicts.
Well, either that, or the sheer mass of numbers related to everything. Millions of deaths across the world, all just listed as data and passed off as history... It was terrifying for her to think about such large numbers.
And then the weaponry... She was actually interested in hearing about this quite decently, but after hearing the first few details, mainly gigantic bombs or mechanized guns, she was done.
As soon as she's done with this break of hers she's going to thoroughly rethink aggressive politics and the dangers of large-scale conflicts. Partly for her country, but she couldn't shake this fear for her men, herself, or even for you...
"Please excuse me for having interrupted you, but I do not wish to know more. It's... Unsettling to think about, especially how you just mention it so casually. I know we may have a dark past as Inazuma as well, but I assure you, we'll maintain this peace, for all our sake."
Kokomi loves reading about old warfare and similar tales in her downtime, so it was a simple matter of time before she asked about it when the two of you were just relaxing in down time.
She couldn't lie, she was half expecting you to not know, as many in Inazuma didn't know many specifics about old wars, especially since they were so many centuries ago. When you told her that the ones you spoke about were only about a century old though, she was curious.
The large scale of everything did take her off guard however. While she read of warfares, none she knew involved such large countries, especially not any that were that recent. She realized how serious of a subject this was, and yet you were so casual about it...
She asked why you treated it as common knowledge, and to her surprise, it was apparently supposed to be? It saddened her to hear that it was all just data for most people, but the thought of hearing more details kept her hooked.
The first thing that truly unsettled her were the origins of the war. She understood that it was the reason why it was spread as common knowledge, but the fact that it happened either way was more than troubling, especially as a leader herself.
She couldn't even imagine the aftermath that you described. She had gotten used to taking losses and learning to overcome them in her time as a leader, but never had she faced something so devastating as the things you describe.
And then of course, the weaponry. While she was mostly intrigued by the use of firearms and how advanced they were from swords and shields, but when the theme switched to nukes and bombardments, she was very much intimidated.
She tried to act the same after that talk, but she couldn't help but feel worried for both you and her island if tension ever came to rise. Sadly for you, that means more effort into her work for her.
"Huh? Of course I'm fine, you don't need to worry about me so much. In fact, I'm thankful for you telling me all of this. I know that we don't have numbers as large in our humble island, but it's better to be safe than sorry... What do I mean? Well, treating my leadership with more care, for starters."

Content includes: SFW, pair of Kokomi and reader who is named as "the scholar" in this fanfic (and who is probably autistic), use of non binary pronouns, lengthy thought process- except it's in Gorou's head so it's a little less long, use of dog traits.
Scroll away if you do not entertain fanfics of a sibling-ish relationship with Gorou, slow burn, and a multi-chapter series. previous part.

The Sangonomiya clan, one of the major noble clans of Inazuma, sprouted from the worshippers of the serpent god, Orobashi, whose undying will of maintaining defense and desire to protect the dwellers of Watatsumi lives on throughout decades of time. Despite having passed many moons ago, a great number of heirs shouldered the heavy responsibilities of having inherited the will of a god, fulfilling their duties with utmost dedication. It’s preceding relationship with the Shogunate is, in a simple explanation, on relatively poor terms. For the differences in faith between two gods in a time of an ancient war were too grave to ignore, culminating in the death of the serpent god. In the recent era, the current heir to the bloodline is a young lady named Sangonomiya Kokomi, who was bestowed with the title of Divine Priestess. Her commendable knowledge of the art of war and keen insights into military affairs prove her to be a suitable supreme leader of Watatsumi Island. There is a famous saying amongst the people: “Never fear; Her Excellency Sangonomiya is here,” for no matter how rare she appears before them, a constant feeling of invulnerability is distributed throughout the island.
An experienced leader such as herself, an abundance of affairs all have tested the limits of her capabilities, for managing an entire island is no easy feat, especially considering her tender age at receiving such a great achievement. Lost it is to her the count of numerous retreats that had to be done due to the overbearing weight of the world. A pool of her own tears marks the treacherous path she had taken to prove herself to be the leader her subjects needed for the lustrous future of her home.
A problem regarding a group of outlanders is not alien to her; her involvement in it makes the incident less tiring to provide a solution for. She oversaw their recovery, which came speedily thanks to the assistance of the medical staff. The explosion the night before did fair damage to their bodies, so treatment was less of a problem compared to their demanding behavior. The group, who call themselves eremites, gave more regard to expressing their nostalgia than their gratitude. A chorus of requests and favors, including a trip back to their home, fills the infirmary at their wake. One of the members, a lady named Dwarkanath, was quite clear in her wish to return to her brother back in Sumeru, along with a bulky man who presented himself as Younan, eager to resume his business in trade. When questioned about their reasons for travel, they all had each of their own, but an increasingly common one includes the mention of a scholar inquiring about their services. They criticized the scholar’s choice of action loudly, filled with resentment and mocking, and pointing at them for every word uttered, which Kokomi paid little to no attention to, for judging a situation from only one side is a recipe for unprofessional conclusions and expectations. She sought information regarding the mentioned scholar, resulting to be fruitless as the eremites only resumed their outburst about them; other than the obvious information of their title, name, and their current stay in Watatsumi, they gave useless information.
Kokomi was inclined to ask for the presence of the infamous scholar to settle the hurdle, and her honorable general reciprocated the thought at his arrival, yet at their wish for separation from the group they had previously contacted, he was obliged to follow their request. Fortunately, he had asked the questions she had been itching an answer for and came to a sightful conclusion. Gorou had recommended she leave the rest of the matter with him, one she felt eternally grateful for, and agreed. The fatigue must have been seeping through her for him to insist, much to her embarrassment and the concern in his eyes, and after instructing him to report the closure of the problem, she retreats back to her room.
In a week, with minimal support from Her Excellency, Gorou settled the matter accordingly. And in his journey of returning to the island by boat, he stumbles upon a familiar face taking interest in an abandoned piece of land. He’s inclined to leave them to their business, but a peculiar sight in the garden tugs at his attention.
“Greetings, scholar, I see you’re still in Watatsumi! I hope your stay hasn’t been a dull experience.”
The unsuspecting scholar turns their head from the soil, indifference displayed in their expression as always. “Hello, General Gorou, what a coincidence.”
At the pitch of impatience in their voice, his curiosity became undeniable, “Indeed, but if I may ask, what are you doing?” —he nighed to their object of attention— “Is something the matter with the land?”
“Not particularly, just an object of interest,” they answer after a slight delay.
His ear twitches in taking notice of the obvious display of secrecy. “I see, are you planning to do something with it?”
Another pause, longer than the last passes by, the scholar’s gaze remains unmoving. Gorou had trouble debating whether he had accidentally offended them.
“I am,” said the scholar, “For… planting.” They point towards the containers filled with soil that were dripping with water on the bottom.
Gorou stifled a ruffle to his hair. “Yes, I can see that, but why exactly?”
“To… salvage the agriculture of Watatsumi..?”
His ears perk up. “’Salvage’? how so?”
It’s not a secret to be knowledgeable in the problems the island faces in multiple areas, be it in terms of livelihood or independence on itself, for the regular residents who call Watatsumi their home. And with the scholar, a foreigner from another land, be exposed and aware of the problems they face daily, he couldn’t help the wave of embarrassment pass through him. Egotistic is he not for having settled some matters of the island, well aware he is at the fact the governance over the establishment is far from perfect. In the previous events of a similar offer of help from another scholar reminds him of the sense of pity and mockery felt by the words uttered by her, he decides to observe the scholar before him, checking for an image of reflection.
They hold a hand to their chin, wearing a contemplative expression. “I saw how hard it is for the people in the village to eat. Their diet mostly consists of rice and canned goods rather than a freshly cooked meal, I didn’t mind it at first, but I got curious and wanted to try and think of a possible solution. I saw the condition the soil of the island is in, long when I got here, and thought it might be because of that, so I’m trying to plant some basic plants first in order to provide granny with a proper meal. I passed by here and thought to check it out and placed a bedding for the soil, it’s waterlogged- though I’m sure you know that already- anyway, it doesn’t look like bad place to start, and it is probably used for the same purpose before by probably another scholar too, and it’s near where I’m also staying at. The soldiers didn’t mind when I caught them looking at it so I continued my research. Surely that’s ok?”
Gorou blinks. “Yes, that is… no problem at all.”
“Okay. Then I also thought of the costs it would take, since I’m also thinking of a way for it to profit the island’s budget and for me too, but since it’s not really confirmed whether it would work so I focused on the probability of the chemicals in relation to the island. I considered the underground activity of the soil, so I-“
The ceaseless yammering of the scholar’s discussion seemed endless once they started, drowning out the tranquil sounds of waves rolling in the beach, and the chirping of birds. At the various attempts to correspond to the generous amount of information, his face contorts into one of perplexion, along with the constant moving of his ears and the furrow to his brows, that escapes the observation of the preoccupied scholar. All effort is in vain however, due to the sudden mention of numbers and chemical compositions. Further on, he could only feign a few nods of acknowledgement. It escapes him how they are able to voice out such complicated details, if he were to ask them to explain such, his words are sure to be drowned out by their constant chatter, for their words are endless, not a spare of silence left in the space.
He is quick to muster up the courage to speak up the moment a pause of breath is regained by the enthusiastic scholar, “So, in short, you want to plant some plants in the soil and use the income from it to help yourself get money and for the island as well? but the Akademiya might give you trouble if it doesn’t work out and give you a failing grade?”
The scholar halts and nods, Gorou took note of the penitence in their eyes, causing his tail to slump.
“Well, the idea isn’t bad. But to sell the vegetables I’m afraid, will need to have the permission of Her Excellency since you’ll be selling it under the name of Watatsumi.” He skims in between the subtle expression of expectance of the scholar and the dripping water from the plant beds.
Assuming this whole plan has a fair probability in succeeding, the mere thought of it being a chance of being the beginning of the rise of Watatsumi in the industry can lift a number of troubles regarding the alimentation of the locals he swore to protect. He, after all, is only a soldier, his abilities are limited outside of providing protection from external threats, having proven himself to be praise-worthy in times of a posing threat, it is easy for the thought of nourishing his people to be forgotten, for his capabilities lies elsewhere. Well aware of the imperfectness of his home, he had always praised the hard work Her Excellency consistently elicits, it never occurred to him the help of other people, nonetheless from another scholar.
The image of hopelessness stemming from the previous people who attempted to lend a hand lowers down his confidence in their (the scholar) prowess, for if even an expert in the field they (previous people) so proclaimed to be in, had given up in a similar endeavor, what will change if another scholar had done the same? The current one, so it seems, to be less as smug as the ones prior. Who runs their mind more than they do with their mouth, if one were to avoid asking them a question that is. They are prone to making mistakes, which is rather refreshing to him as he always viewed the students from the Akademiya to see themselves as perfect and omnipotent, perhaps it is something gained from having access to unlimited knowledge. They also are not ashamed to make up for it, if the current suggestion is an apology out of guilt in the scenario. He chooses to believe it is. Apart from the obvious reason of mora for their own benefit, understandable in many ways, they managed to make it advantageous to the people surrounding them, whether they deem the situation as pitiable or not, he is yet to discern the hidden language underneath their indifferent demeanor.
If he were to accept the plausible project, it could very much lessen the many burdens of Her Excellency, improve the economic impact of the island, and provide a better meal to the residents- if it were to be fruitful in its completion.
“I…” he intakes a deciding sigh. “I will mention this to Her Excellency if it shows promise, I’ll send some soldiers to take a look at it every day. If this shows progress, you have my word that I will lend you my support in completing this and take full responsibility.”
He can only hope his trust will not be misplaced, lest this will be the last time he will accept any help from foreign schools.
An inaudible sigh escapes the scholar, to which he could only assume to be one of relief. “Okay. Thank you, General Gorou, I will submit reports if any sign of progress shows. I will do my best to not let you down,” they pipe up, voice void of any appreciation they so speak of, though Gorou is persuaded to think to himself that they mean their words.
“Don’t mention it, and that won’t be necessary, I wouldn’t want to divert your attention by forcing yourself on my account,” he replies, ceasing the crease in his features.
“No, you won’t be forcing me, I just think it will help solidify your statement to the divine priestess once you say this to her. I appreciate it if you were thinking of creating the report yourself, but I think a more detailed report will help convince her further.”
“Ah, I see your point. Then I’ll be expecting your report let’s say, in a week?”
“More or less, yes.” They once again stare at him in silence, which he takes as a sign they’re simply thinking. “If it’s not too much to ask, may I ask you to refrain from mentioning this to anyone? Aside from the soldier you will send.”
A twitch to his ear. “I can do that, sure, but why?”
The scholar, despite their apathy, appeared to be hesitant. “I… do not want to attract unnecessary attention.”
Gorou, at that moment, sees a similar image of his timid sister in the scholar, and a surge of familiarity courses through him. “..Alright, I’ll keep that in mind.”
They nod and teeter towards the flower beds as Gorou’s gaze lingers on them a second longer before ripping his eyes away and resume his journey back to the shrine.
The following weeks felt much like a blur to the general, most of his time occupied with the usual trivial matters of the island: submitting records of the activity inside and out, surveying the borders, dealing with stowaways and adversaries that dare approach near the bustle of the village. Imagination it could be, for an inkling of hope looms over him once a problem relating to frugality is in his hands, comes to him the unwelcome images of a blooming performance by the island’s possible rise. He is quick to dismiss the thoughts; a particular line in the directives he holds high in regard, he chants repeatedly in his head. It shall be disadvantageous in any circumstance to limit oneself to a favorable outcome, resulting in great peril and disappointment. Deal with facts, not opinions. Gorou scolds himself for having to put in great effort to quit his imagination. This series of thoughts went on a loop with every submission of reports, for the papers containing data about the project agreed to came almost swarming. In the numbers themselves, the amount used is limited, but the same is not applied to the written information. Painted with jet black ink, some of its contents being of lighter color, for a reason he guesses is to arrange the contents; the formation of the subject itself is clean, but an interesting experience it is to decipher the queer handwriting of the scholar. The language used is, thankfully, the one he grew up with, yet it helps little with translating their work. Unable to ask anybody else for assistance, he is left to ponder. With that considered, Nami, the soldier he has assigned the task of delivering these reports to them both, has been acting rather odd. And Gorou had seen enough of the same behavior between men alike to tell something was at bay. But when inquired, Nami only dismissed any suspicious activity and fled. He had best of faith in his comrades and resolved that the matter was of no serious importance.
Along with the straining work, he had considered a summary from the scholar themselves; this, he gave up on, for during his endeavors along the garden, attempts to receive an explanation personally only led to another one of the scholar’s lengthy discussions. They still prove to be a challenge to understand. Even if he were to apply his knowledge of living in a family of 10, in which all his siblings have distinct personalities, he only ends up in an even more of a spiral. Even so, he tries his best to interpret their mannerisms, from their total silence to small talk and subtle reactions to certain things, in order to secure proper communication between them both. For instance, they seem to like it whenever Gorou is able to return their report back to them in a timely manner. If he were to hand it in later or earlier, he would be frowned upon, guessing by the subtle curl in their lips. Another thing he has observed is their dislike for surprises. His visits for the purpose of checking the progress, apart from the extra need to remind them to sleep when he catches them idling by in the middle of the night, were regularly disapproved of, except when he coincidentally managed to check on them on the same day and time. For far too long, he has attempted to interpret the reports they send, resorting to a weekly visit to the scholar, who always seems to be loitering around their subject of interest.
In the third week and a half upon their shared agreement, Gorou was treating the day as a regular tour of duty, taking a careful eye on the hidden passages around the area, until a rather enthusiastic pair of hands came waving at him. He couldn’t believe his eyes when the owner reveals itself to be the scholar, looking down at him from the cliff side. They requested for a moment of his time, and he agreed much to his amazement.
Moment of thought for their immediate knowledge of his whereabouts even in such a hidden place is quickly casted aside when they presented, miraculously, a sprout of a plant in the flower bed looking worse for wear only a few days ago. In the shining light of the sun’s rays, it couldn’t have been more of an image of a dream. The very thing no one else had been able to accomplish before, one he had little hope would take root, he is glad to be proven wrong.
He passes his gaze in between the thrilled scholar and the miracle in front of them, a smile, no matter how small, spreads to both of their faces.
At the silence, the scholar felt obliged to break it, “S..so I managed to make it grow, although it took longer than usual, I tried to grow some basic plants first so it can have an ample of time to get use- adjust- the soil I meant.”
“This is great! Wonderful work! I never really expected it to be successful in such a short time!” said Gorou, very much in awe, “Since when? does anyone else know about this?”
The scholar nods. “Me and the soldier you always send. Though, I asked him to keep it a secret for now, since I wanted to make sure it was stable. This had sprouted for about 2-3 days prior.”
The mystery of Nami’s odd behavior turned out to be a product of a wonder, Gorou felt a sense of pride in having avoided pointing a finger at him, “I see, thank you for confirming it before reporting, I applaud your work!”
At the unsteady direction of the scholar’s eyes, only then did he take notice of the steady wagging of his tail. He clears his throat. “I shall be reporting this to Her Excellency right away, I’ll tell you the details when I return. Rest assured I will give you my full support.”
Another nod of acknowledgement is sent his way. Their overall reaction felt rather mundane considering the great success of their work, but Gorou concludes they celebrated their greatest upon calling for his attention on it. And so, after an insightful conversation with them, thankfully with less confusing terms, he went on his way, up till a request of providing their own company with him reaches his ears.
He glances back at them, a twitch to his ear. “I suppose I could do that; I will have to ask Her Excellency for permission first though. So, I will have to ask you to wait outside while I try and convince Her.”
“Okay. What time shall you report? I’ll have to get my reports before going.”
“Ah, right! Forgive me for forgetting, I guess I’ll tell Her in.” -a quick skim at the sky- “About 20 minutes?”
A brief moment of contemplation was needed, “Alright, thank you.”
He was stricken suddenly by their overwhelming need for details and delicately adds, “I’ll be waiting for you here in that time. Will that be alright?”
“Yes. Will I be waiting for you by the bridge while you talk?”
“No, that would be unacceptable, I will escort you to the shrine myself, you’ll be waiting by the entrance.”
“Okay. Should I wear something more formal?”
Gorou spends another 5 minutes assuring the scholar’s concerns. All of which were deeply appreciated and absorbed by the bothered scholar.
They fidget with their hands. “Okay. Thank you, General, I’m sorry for wasting your time.”
The General shakes his head. “It’s no problem, I’m happy to be of assistance to you.”
A look of bewilderment passes over their face. “Thank you,” they repeat.
“I’ll see you there then.”
He foresaw the silent bob of their head and soon continues his journey.

hopefully the autistic traits I put weren't too over the board since that's all based in my experience (i MIGHT be autistic tbh). Apart from that, this took 6 pages in word. nice ! hopefully I can continue working on this even with school since our end time is like- 5pm. Expect extremely slow updates, no matter how much I don't want it to be. Any form of support keeps me motivated, so don't be shy in spamming if you wish.
