thick thighs save lives (but ruin racing suits) | ln4, op81
Tumblr media
hi! i got this idea from one tiktok i saw today. this one goes for my plus size girlies (including myself lmao) so please enjoy as much as papaya boys would enjoy some pair of thick thighs!
summary: lando and oscar never seen their friend with something tight on, so when it comes to try on new racing suits she have a big surprise for them
warnings: slightly disturbed perception of body image
pairing: oscar piastri x fem!mclarendriver x lando norris
Tumblr media
Y/N sometimes forgot that she was a girl.
At the beginning of her career she tried to make an effort to look good, showing that a male-dominated sport wouldn't take away her feminine grace. Years ago she used to wake up early, style her hair, do makeup and spend a lot of money on fixing cosmetics but unfortunately everything was lost due to sweat, a balaclava and a tight helmet. So the girl decided that this fight made absolutely no sense - she decided to stuck only to lip balm and mascara.
Despite keeping her makeup to a minimum, even her mascara remained treacherous, smearing under her eyes after each race or training session, making her look like a panda. In terms of clothes, the girl didn't have much opportunity to show off either. Her clothes were largely either team tracksuits, a racing suit, or just a baggy orange T-shirt and jeans.
And just as Oscar and Lando looked great after the race despite sweat and messy hair, her post-race glow didn't really existed. On the contrary, she looked as if she had a hard, sleepless night.
It is known that when media days fell on the calendar, the girl tried to look her best. She had light make-up and nicely styled hair, but her body was still covered by loose layers of clothes. It would seem that apart from her physiotherapist and the team doctor, no one around her had any idea what kind of figure the girl really had.
However, everything changed when the break between seasons came. When places had numerous galas and events and you could throw away uncomfortable helmets and team clothes. However, as we know, everything comes to an end at some point and we have to return to the gray reality. This was the case, when the day came and it was time to try on new racing suits for the upcoming season.
Y/N hugged Lando and Oscar upon seeing them outside the entrance to McLaren's headquarters. The trio hadn't had the opportunity to see each other for several weeks, so there was a lot of joy. In a good mood, surrounded by conversation, they went inside and immediately went to the designated place. After a short presentation of costumes, everyone received theirs and went to change, only to come back after a while and report any reservations regarding comfort and range of movement. Y/N took her suit without thinking and went to change. She was surprised when the suit got stuck on her butt and refused to go up any higher.
"What the hell"
The girl muttered under her breath, gripping her fit tighter and jumping in it several times. When it finally slid over her ass, Y/N slipped her hands into the sleeves and zipped up the zipper, sealing the Velcro around her neck. Something was definitely wrong. The girl looked in the mirror at her reflection. The outfit was great and looked amazing, the only problem was that it was a bit tight. Which shouldn't be the case, because the outfits were based on last season's, so the dimensions shouldn't differ drastically. It was impossible to gain so much weight in three months, right?
The girl turned around, looking at the back of her body. The outfit was definitely tight. Just as it was still relatively tight on her chest, it was very tight on her thighs and butt.
Y/N covered her mouth with her hand, looking at her reflection. Have she really always had such big thighs? Did she actually gain weight during the past break?
She was brought out of her thoughts by a knock on the bathroom and the voices of Lando and Oscar outside the door.
"Are you ready?"
The girl felt her cheeks burning with shame.
"I think I have a problem"
Hearing this, the friends fell silent and looked at each other.
"Can we come in?"
Y/N agreed quietly, still staring at herself in the mirror. With each passing second, she became more and more confused about her reflection.
Oscar and Lando entered the bathroom, also wearing their suits. When they noticed their friend standing with her back to them, the first thing they noticed was her butt. Lando quickly looked up at the ceiling and Oscar walked over to the girl, trying his hardest to focus on the reflection of her face in the mirror.
"What happened?"
Y/N bit her lip in shame and silently turned towards them. Her friends involuntarily looked at her, pretending they didn't know what she meant. But as soon as they saw the material tight around her ass from the entrance to the bathroom, they knew exactly what the matter was about.
"My suit is too tight" The girl said quietly, looking at herself "It doesn't fit at all"
Lando wrapped his arms around himself and covered his mouth with his hand. He tried his hardest not to speak, because all he could think about were comments about her thighs and whether she could crush him with them. It didn't get much easier for Oscar. He put his hands on his hips and looked at his friend silently. He was afraid that he would be unable to comfort her in any way, because his mind was completely blank.
Piastri cleared his throat after a while, trying to return from the land of fantasy and behave as if the whole situation was really dramatic.
"Is it very tight?"
"Oh, just look!"
The girl spread her arms and spun around. Lando bit his lip and tilted his head back. Oscar held his breath, having no idea what to say. He was totally mesmerized by her curves.
"I- Uhm, I think it's just a mistake and they'll make you a different one without any problem."
"Different one?" Y/N asked, feeling tears in her eyes. “What if it's not a mistake and I've gained weight these past few months?”
"After all, the tests showed that everything was fine with your measurements."
Oscar said calmly.
Y/N turned to the mirror again and looked at her reflection.
"What a total shit"
"Hey, don't say that" Lando was immediately outraged "You look great"
"Great?" The girl snorted, "Come on, I look ridiculous."
"To be honest, I agree with Lando one hundred percent."
Oscar replied, looking once more at the back of the girl's body.
"My thighs are a disaster! What kind of racing driver has such big thighs?"
The girl burst out, turning again towards them.
"Max has nice thighs," Lando pointed out, thinking for a moment, "I'm sure his thighs are the national pride of the Netherlands."
Y/N wasn't in the mood to joke. Devastated, she looked down her body.
Oscar walked up to her and hugged her without saying a word.
"You look beautiful. And you have a really amazing figure"
Lando walked over to his friends and hugged them as well.
The girl felt a little better with the support of her friends. However, for a moment she forgot that men would be men and nothing would ever dissuade them from having dirty thoughts.
"I agree with Oscar, because you really look great," Lando started. Oscar looked at him, knowing full well what was coming and knowing that he wouldn't be able to stop it. "But with all the respect I have for you as a friend and as a woman in general, holy shit, I would pay extra for you to strangle me with your thighs. And man, that mad bunda, too."
Y/N didn't know what to say for a moment. She only felt a blush creeping onto her cheeks. Did she just receive the strangest compliment of her life?
She freed herself a little from her friends' embrace and looked at Lando's face.
"Seriously?"
He seeing that his comment was not received negatively, quickly nodded.
"You have such a body that-" "Lando meant that you shouldn't worry about what you look like because you look really great."
Oscar interjected, knowing full well that Lando's comments should be kept to himself.
The girl smiled weakly and sniffled. Her friends' words lifted her spirits a bit.
"My only concern now is how I will get this contraption off of me."
Lando and Oscar smirked, involuntarily exchanging glances.
"I think we can help you with that."

Mimming from Singapore
A couple months ago I received an email from Mimming's person in Singapore. Mimming is an almost 40 year old teddy bear, and she's been very well loved... and hugged.
This is what Mimming looked like when she was young:
Tumblr media
And this is what she looked like at the start of 2023:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As you can see, she lost a lot of weight and fur from hugs over the years. Her eyes have cataracts (you'll see those better later), her nose is dangling due to muzzle shrinkage, and she has some pretty significant wounds she usually keeps under her shirt. But she's still a very cuddly bear with an endearing expression.
Her person was hoping to get Mimming recovered in new fur, so she could be hugged and have adventures for at least 40 more years. A new nose and new eyes were under consideration, and we agreed starting with a spa (especially since her stuffing was so compressed, was probably in order. So... Mimming found a flight with her buddy Little Mimming to keep her company (you'll see her later) and headed across the Pacific to CA. While Mimming is well travelled, this was a first solo Pacific flight, and so it was bit scary, hence the company. It actually took less than a week for her to arrive!
She started with her bubble bath, that way new fur would match her cleaned fur color.
Tumblr media
You can see her cataracts, particularly in her right eye, and how loose and chipped her nose is here.
Next was deciding if she would get a new nose and eyes, or keep her originals. Turns out, there were many nose options. Smooth like nose, flocked/velvety, size differences:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Her person opted for a new, velvety, triangular nose. For her eyes, there was really only one option, new or not. I can usually get pretty good color matches, but Mimming's eyes had also faded, so new eyes would be a touch brighter. Once eyes or a nose come out, they can't go back in, and with recovering it's best to remove them before recovering, so this was a decision that needed to be made before fur choice. Here's the eye option next to her original eye:
Tumblr media
Mimming's person opted for two new eyes. We agreed to preserve her old eyes and nose in her heart with a bit of her stuffing. But first, she needed new fur. Here were some of the white fur options:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mimming's person went with the thick white faux fur, and surgery proceeded. For her brown patch, I had furs to match all of the white fur options, so we were all set there.
Here's her heart being made and installed:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And here are the first photos of Mimming in all new fur. She still has open seams, so her chubbiness can be adjusted:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
While she sits naturally like in her baby photos, she can also lay flat like she could when she arrived. Chubbiness approved, Mimming got dressed and went outside for a photo shoot. She was well traveled, but had never been to California, and she wanted some photos as souvenirs. Little Mimming joined her for the photo shoot (those were the first tulips of the season):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And those adorable knitted overalls? Those are Mimming's regular travel clothes that she arrived in. Good thing that knit stretches. I particularly liked the little teddy bear buttons to hold the straps.
Mimming and Little Mimming flew home and again, it was a fast trip, just 5 days! Here they are safe and sound, albeit a little jet lagged, with their friends:

Her person wrote:
Thank you so much!! She looks amazing! We are so happy we got to spend the rest of our lifetime with her - another 40+ years!! Thank you Doctor Beth for taking great care of her. You’re such a blessing to all of us! Praying for your good health and good life. Stay happy and blessed!

new beginnings
Tumblr media
pairing: Tyler Owen’s x f! reader
Tyler pushed his grocery cart down the cereal aisle, his mind wandering to the endless list of storm reports and data he needed to compile. Living in Tornado Alley kept him busy, but today was his day off, and he intended to make the most of it. His mom had called earlier, asking if he could pick up a few things for her, so here he was, navigating the grocery store with a list in hand.
Y/N walked into the store, her mind preoccupied with the upcoming shift at the hospital al. Being an ER doctor was demanding, but she loved it. As she moved through the aisles, her thoughts drifted back to her childhood in Topeka. She had left so much behind, including her best friend turned rival, Tyler Owens.
Tyler and Y/N had grown up together, inseparable until their teenage years when a series of misunderstandings and hurt feelings had driven them apart. Now, years later, they both lived in the same town, yet their paths rarely crossed.
Lost in their thoughts, they both reached for the same box of cereal at the exact moment. Their hands brushed, and they turned to look at each other.
“Tyler?” Y/N’s voice was filled with surprise.
“Y/N?” Tyler’s eyes widened, taking in the sight of her. She looked effortlessly beautiful in the grocery store lighting, her long hair cascading over her shoulders, freckles scattered across her nose, and those familiar dimples appearing as she smiled.
They stood there for a moment, frozen, before Tyler recovered and stepped back. “Ladies first,” he said, gesturing to the cereal box.
“Wow, chivalry isn’t dead after all,” Y/N replied with a raised eyebrow as she picked up the box and placed it in her cart. “Didn’t think you’d still be in town.”
“Ditto,” Tyler shot back, crossing his arms. “Guess we both had the same idea to stick around.”
“Guess so,” Y/N said, a smirk playing on her lips. “Still chasing storms, I see. Figured you’d have grown out of that by now.”
“Still saving lives, I see,” Tyler retorted. “Figured you’d have moved on to something less dramatic.”
“Some things never change,” Y/N muttered, shaking her head. “You still think you know everything.”
“And you still think you’re always right,” Tyler countered.
An awkward silence stretched between them, filled with the unspoken tension of their past. Finally, Tyler broke it. “Want to grab a coffee? Catch up?”
Y/N hesitated for a moment, then nodded. “Sure, why not?”
They finished their shopping and met at the small café inside the store. As they sat down with their drinks, the conversation flowed more easily than either had expected. They reminisced about their childhood adventures, laughed about old pranks, and shared stories about their current lives.
“Remember that time we tried to build a treehouse in my backyard?” Y/N asked, her eyes twinkling with amusement.
“How could I forget?” Tyler chuckled. “We got halfway up the tree before your dad caught us and grounded us for a week.”
“I think that was the last time I tried to build anything,” Y/N admitted, shaking her head.
Tyler smirked. “Yeah, you always were better at bossing people around than actually doing the work.”
Y/N rolled her eyes dramatically. “And you always thought you could do everything better than everyone else.”
“Maybe because I usually can,” Tyler shot back, a playful glint in his eyes.
“Oh, please,” Y/N laughed. “Your ego is still as big as ever.”
“And your sarcasm is still as sharp,” Tyler retorted, grinning.
As Y/N rolled her eyes again, Tyler felt a surprising surge of attraction. He’d forgotten how feisty and sassy she could be. He found himself admiring her spirit, the fire that had always made her stand out.
“You know,” he said, his voice softening, “I never really understood why we drifted apart.”
Y/N sighed, her expression turning serious. “We were young and stubborn. I guess we both thought the other had changed, and neither of us wanted to admit we missed our friendship.”
Tyler nodded, reaching across the table to take her hand. “Im sorry for my part in it.”
“Me too,” Y/N squeezed his hand, her smile returning. “But maybe it’s not too late to start over.”
Tyler’s heart skipped a beat as he looked into her eyes. “I’d like that.”
They finished their coffee and left the store together, walking side by side. The tension of their past was gone, replaced by a sense of hope for the future.
As they reached their cars, Tyler turned to Y/N. “How about dinner sometime? We can catch up properly.”
“I’d love that,” Y/N agreed, her dimples deepening as she smiled. “It’s a date.”
Tyler stood on Y/N’s doorstep, holding a bouquet of tulips, his heart pounding in his chest. The door swung open, revealing Y/N in a sundress that hugged her curves perfectly. Her cleavage sat enticingly on her chest, and Tyler felt his breath hitch.
“Wow,” Tyler managed, handing her the flowers. “You look amazing.”
“Thank you,” Y/N replied, a blush coloring her cheeks as she took the bouquet. “You clean up pretty well yourself.”
Their dinner date was filled with snarky banter and playful sassiness. Tyler couldn’t help but be drawn to Y/N’s sharp wit and fiery spirit. Every eye roll, every sarcastic comment only made him more captivated.
“You still think you can outsmart me?” Tyler teased as they finished their meal.
“I know I can,” Y/N shot back, a challenging glint in her eyes.
Tyler watched intently as Y/N lifted her glass of wine to her lips. The way the deep red liquid touched her lips, glistening as she took a sip, made his heart race. Her chest rose and fell with each breath, her cleavage mesmerizing in the soft lighting of the restaurant. The scent of her perfume, a delicate mix of floral and something uniquely her, filled the air around him, making his senses swim.
“Enjoying the view?” Y/N asked, a teasing smile playing on her lips as she caught him staring.
Tyler smirked, leaning in closer. “Absolutely. And not just the view.”
Y/N rolled her eyes, but Tyler saw the blush spreading across her cheeks. “You’re incorrigible.”
“And you love it,” Tyler shot back, his voice low and filled with promise.
As the night drew to a close, the tension between them became palpable. They walked to Tyler’s truck, the air thick with unspoken desire. Once they were parked in her driveway, neither could resist any longer. Tyler leaned in, capturing Y/N’s lips in a heated kiss. She responded eagerly, her hands tangling in his hair as their mouths moved together with a desperate intensity.
Tyler’s hands roamed over her body, feeling the soft fabric of her dress and the warmth of her skin beneath. Y/N’s fingers worked at his belt buckle, her eyes locking with his, filled with a mix of determination and vulnerability.
“May I?” she whispered, her doe eyes searching his face.
Tyler could only nod, unable to form words as his heart raced. Y/N undid his pants, her fingers brushing against his growing arousal. She looked up at him one last time before lowering her head, her lips closing around him.
Tyler’s head fell back against the seat, a low groan escaping his lips as Y/N’s mouth worked its magic. She moved with practiced ease, her tongue swirling around him, her lips creating a perfect seal. The sensation was overwhelming, and Tyler’s hands gripped the edge of the seat, trying to anchor himself.
Y/N teased him, her mouth moving slowly, her eyes flicking up to watch his reactions. She let her lips travel along his length, peppering kisses on his V-line, causing Tyler to shiver with anticipation. She licked the pre-cum off the tip, her eyes gleaming with mischief as she took her time savoring him.
“Y/N,” he groaned, his hand moving to tangle in her hair, urging her on. She responded eagerly, her mouth and hand working in perfect harmony.
Tyler felt himself nearing the edge, the tension coiling tighter within him. “I’m close,” he warned, his voice strained.
Y/N didn’t slow down, her determination clear in the way she continued to pleasure him. With a final, shuddering gasp, Tyler came, his release flooding Y/N’s mouth. She swallowed, her eyes never leaving his, a satisfied smile playing on her lips as she pulled away.
Tyler was left breathless, his heart pounding as he looked down at Y/N. “That was… incredible,” he managed, his voice hoarse.
Y/N grinned, her dimples deepening. “You’ve been driving me wild since we were kids. .”
Tyler reached out, pulling her into his lap, capturing her lips in another searing kiss. “I can’t wait any longer,” he whispered against her lips.
Without breaking the kiss, Tyler carried Y/N into the house, his hands sliding up her thighs, feeling the smooth skin beneath her dress. They barely made it through the door before Tyler’s desire overcame him. He set Y/N on the kitchen counter, his hands moving to pull her dress over her head.
“You have no idea how long I’ve waited to see you like this,” Tyler murmured, his voice rough with desire. “Since we were teens, I’ve imagined this moment.”
Y/N’s breath hitched as Tyler’s hands roamed over her body, his touch sending shivers down her spine. “Then don’t make me wait any longer,” she whispered, her eyes dark with desire.
Tyler didn’t need any more encouragement. He pulled her dress over her head, revealing her in all her beauty. His eyes roamed over her curves, taking in the sight of her bare skin, her breasts exposed and enticing. “You’re perfect,” he breathed, his hands cupping her breasts, thumbs brushing over her nipples, causing her to arch into his touch.
Y/N’s hands moved to his shirt, unbuttoning it with trembling fingers. She pushed it off his shoulders, letting her hands explore the muscles of his chest and back. Tyler’s mouth found her neck, kissing and nibbling along her skin, eliciting soft moans from her.
“Tyler,” she gasped as his mouth moved lower, trailing kisses down her chest. His hands slid down to her waist, lifting her slightly to pull off her panties, leaving her completely exposed on the counter.
Tyler took a moment to appreciate the sight before him, his breath hitching with anticipation. “I’ve wanted this for so long,” he murmured, his voice filled with awe and desire.
He kissed her again, his mouth demanding and hungry. Y/N responded eagerly, her legs wrapping around his waist, pulling him closer. Tyler’s fingers found her wetness, teasing her entrance, making her gasp and cling to him.
“Please,” she whispered, her voice desperate.
Tyler didn’t make her wait any longer. He positioned himself at her entrance, pausing for a moment to look into her eyes. “Are you sure?” he asked, his voice tender.
“Yes,” Y/N replied, her eyes filled with trust and desire.
With a groan, Tyler entered her, the sensation overwhelming them both. He moved slowly at first, savoring the feel of her around him, but soon their need took over, and he began to thrust harder, their bodies moving together in perfect rhythm.
The kitchen filled with the sounds of their lovemaking, the slap of skin against skin, the mingled moans and gasps. Tyler’s hands gripped her hips, holding her steady as he drove into her, each thrust bringing them closer to the edge.
Y/N’s nails raked down his back, her head falling back as she gave herself over to the pleasure. “Tyler,” she moaned, her voice breaking.
He could feel her tightening around him, her body trembling as she reached her climax. Tyler followed soon after, his release crashing over him with a force that left him breathless.
They stayed like that for a moment, clinging to each other, their breaths mingling as they came down from their high. Tyler gently lifted her off the counter, carrying her to the couch, where they collapsed in a tangle of limbs.
“That was…” Y/N began, her voice trailing off as she struggled to find the words.
“Amazing,” Tyler finished for her, a satisfied smile on his lips.
Y/N chuckled, resting her head on his chest. “Yeah, amazing.”
They lay there in comfortable silence, the past forgotten, the future filled with promise. Tyler knew that this was only the beginning of their story, and he couldn’t wait to see where it would lead.
As he held Y/N in his arms, he whispered softly, “I’ve missed you.”
Y/N looked up at him, her eyes filled with emotion. “I’ve missed you too, Tyler. More than you know.”
He kissed her gently, his heart full. “I’m not letting you go this time,” he promised.
“And I’m not letting you go either,” Y/N replied, her smile radiant.
They fell asleep like that, wrapped in each other’s arms, the past finally put to rest, and a new future stretching out before them, filled with love and endless possibilities.

Hii🌸 if u don't mind would u pls write for simon w fem reader who's having a difficult pregnancy??:'( if not that's ok, luv ur stuff btw🩷
In Sickness and Health

Simon’s heart breaks when watching going through your first pregnancy
A/N: Omg i watched my old co worked go through a hard pregnancy. It never looks easy no matter how it is going. I love this idea too ❤️
Warnings: sickness, pregnancy, hard pregnancy, underlining depression, arguments, marriage, soft!simon, husband!simon, dad!simon, fluff, little angst, swearing
simon x reader guide
simon x reader fluff/angst
When you found out you were pregnant, it was obvious. No period. Your cravings became intense. You threw up every fucking morning. Simon and you were excited that you were pregnant, people encouraging you that the morning sickness would pass. Instead. It came harder and longer. You cramped all the time, you bled once. Thinking you lost the baby when in fact you didn’t. Doctor reassured that it was normal in some women.
However, both of you didn’t expect the pregnancy to get harder than what people said it would have been. Your mom even said that what you are going through isn’t what she did. You are through your third trimester and nothing changed. Eventually your midwife came to put fluids in you since you couldn’t hold anything in. Throwing up was your new aesthetic. It got harder for you to work so you had to quit your job and stay home. Best friends with your toilet, you slept there day and night until your body grew bigger.
Simon was ordered from Price to stay home until the baby arrived and settled. Price heard from Simon about how the pregnancy has been not the best. You been up all night not being able to sleep from being too hot to throwing up to not being comfortable. Which caused Simon not to sleep, due to being worried about you. He would hold your hair up if you were too tired to even notice it was falling inside the toilet. Simon would wash your hair as you cried. Shushing you to keep you from having a panic attack.
You hated all of what was happening to you where you couldn’t enjoy being pregnant. Counting the days not to see your kid but to have her out. It was like you were hating the fact of everything no that was happening. Feeling like a curse then a miracle. Simon was the opposite even though he was heartbroken to see his love going through only hardship, the thought of having a mini both of you made him warm inside. Bringing it up once had you excited until you would hurl once more.
Simon would bend over backwards for anything you needed. Needed a bath Done. Needed a craving. Done and done again. Needed to be carried to the bed. Done. Needed a belly lift. Done. Anything was possible for Simon if it was for you. Nothing would stop him from helping you.
Was it perfect? Not always. Even when you both were tired and exhausted, you would fight, he would always be right by you. No matter what the fight was about, lately things that were ridiculous.
You both finished a fight and made up as he pet your damp hair, rubbing his other hand on your swollen belly. You were laying on his chest in bed, having your belly rest on the comfort of the mattress.
Sweat consumed you, your body working overboard on making your child and keeping you from not dying from everything else. It was silent before you sobbed. You were done, nothing for you. Your feet hurt. You felt like a whale. And your husband hated you. You’ve been only a bitch since you got pregnant and you were done.
You kept repeating in your head that he truly didn’t want to be here that you were just an excuse of a wife. That he never wanted to help you. That he wished you were gone. All because he didn’t get you your pebble ice. Simon had to leave the house for a while and what did he bring back? The stupid fucking ice. You called him a coward for leaving and not say anything about you said just for him to gift you?
Simon’s heart broke when your son burst out, your body shaking. Concern written on his face as he made your face turn to him. “Love what’s wrong?”
You cried harder as you laid your face in his shirt. “I want her out. And I feel terrible that I don’t want to do this anymore. That I have been a bitch. That I can’t stop throwing up. That this whole pregnancy hasn’t been what people have been saying.” He listened to you rubbing your back in soothing patterns. “I’ve been a terrible wife. I can’t believe I have been awful to you. You only been kind and generous and loving.”
Simon shook his head. “I could never do what you are doin’ dove,” He said quickly as he rubbed your shoulders. “This pregnancy is not been the best for ya.”
You sobbed harder as you clenched your hands into his shirt. Simon started to hush you quietly and soothingly. “You don’t deserve me.”
Simon froze from the comment, he used to say that to you at the beginning of your relationship. Telling you that he is a monster and that he would plague you with his darkness. That you were the angel and he was a demon, instead you showed him that he was the opposite. He was just lost in a broken world of his. Simon knew you were not like this. Not confident. Angry. Negative. No, you were the opposite of all of it.
Simon scooted so he would have you sit up against the frame. “Don’t you say that.” He said sternly.
You scoffed. “It’s true, I called you mean things. I said mean nasty things that are not true. Just over ice? Like how…”
“Stop,” He said stopping you dead in your tracks. “I know you didn’t mean it. Never have you showed me that. Baby,” He watched as your lips trembled, as your skin paled. “I know you love me, you are in pain just like I was. Let me help you bring yourself back as you make our child. You’re almost there love.”
You inhaled deeply as you looked away. “I’m sorry,” You turned to him and placed your hand on his cheek. “I love you Simon.”
Simon smiled and grabbed your hand kissing your knuckles. “I love you too. This is through sickness and health yeah? We promised each other that. So that is what gonna happen.”
You laid back down on him, your heart swelled with joy. You didn’t know how you got such an amazing husband. But all you knew is that he was your soulmate and you were his.
Another month went by and the baby was in distress from your body. She would be a month and half early which could lead into problems. However since your was fighting off too many things it wanted the baby to come out. You laid in the hospital bed as they induced you to push your baby girl out. You cried as Simon held his hand on yours and a cloth against your forehead.
“You got this mama,” The gynecologist announced looking up at you. “She is almost there!”
You looked at Simon concern written on your face and his. “It’s al’ight mamas. ‘M right here.” He whispered soothing you by brushing your damp strands back.
With a couple last pushes you heard a wail. Immediately relief went through your body as you laid all the way down into the bed. You panted as nurses and the doctor tended to the baby. Simon watched back and forth between you and the baby. “Go-Go see her.” You whispered gulping air.
You watched as he gave you a concerned look then nodded. You watched as he looked over the shoulders and smiled. Your heart fluttering. One of the nurses came to look over you. She said something but you couldn’t hear her. You felt nauseous and weak, lightheadedness coming in full swing.
The nurse called out as you felt your eyes roll. After that it was dark, you felt like actual sleep took hold. When you woke up, you were in a different room in the hospital, mouth was dry. When you looked over you saw Simon asleep with your baby girl against his bare chest.
You smiled. “They have been so cute,” You turned your head to see the doctor walking in. “How are you feeling?”
You hummed and coughed a bit. “Thirsty.”
“I bet. You had a blood clot form after giving birth to your baby girl. It can be common and could cause from your body being on overdrive to fix you. You are on blood thinners so take it easy. You have a healthy baby girl, she might be a little smaller than usual but that is expected from a early birth,” she explained looking over your vitals. “Your husband knows what to do. Just get to know your baby and rest.”
That you did, Simon once again by both you and both of your baby girl. Never have you felt so much relief and love. You smiled as Simon changed her diaper humming softly to her. In sickness and health. Is all you thought of as he gave you a kiss handing you your baby girl.

Tumblr media
Chatter filled the air, loud sounds that rang in her ears while she pushed through the crowd. Every now and then she spotted a few familiar faces she made a note to greet later on after familiarizing herself with the rooms she’d spend the upcoming weekend in.
(Y/n) had arrived at the conference hotel a few minutes ago, driven on by the excitement she couldn’t shake and hadn’t been able to swallow for the past weeks. She loved meeting new colleagues at these events, loved learning about new medical procedures and techniques she couldn’t wait to try at home. A nice getaway that taught her more about new developments than any reading could.
“Doctor (y/n)!” She was forced to a sudden halt, eyes meeting a pair of familiar blue ones. Instantly she was pulled in for a handshake, making a smile grow on her lips as Tom, the elderly colleague she hadn’t seen in years, greeted her. “I was hoping you’d find time to come to the conference!”
“I wouldn’t miss it for the world! It’s so good to see you, Tom, is your wife here too?” Tom only shook his head but didn’t get the chance to reply verbally as he was interrupted by another person nearing. Her eyes flickered towards the approaching man, and her breath instantly got stuck in her throat.
She had prayed that he wouldn’t be here, that he was too busy back home to leave the Forks hospital. It had been years since she had last seen him, ever since that twenty first birthday of hers that had flipped her whole world around.
“Doctor Cullen, have you met doctor (y/n)? She’s a brilliant young colleague from New York.” Heat flushed through her at the praise. (Y/n) had to avert her eyes, looking back atTom who was still staring up at Carlisle.
“I have, it’s nice to see you again, (y/n).” She only managed to shoot him a quick smile before mumbling something about catching up with them later. Her feet carried her away from them, set on blending in with the crowd to hide away from the man whose lips she could still feel pressed against hers, the man whose words still rang in her ears to remind her that he was her father’s best friend and that all of it had been a mistake.
It was foolish of her to think that she could hide away from him, all too aware of the secret he and his family had managed to keep for all these years. But she couldn’t talk to him, not even when their night together had happened years and years ago, his words were still too loud in her mind, his touch still too prominent.
“(Y/n)!” His voice shook through her body as his cold hand softly clamped down around her wrist. She was forced to a halt again, getting lost in the eyes that had once looked at her with something she hadn’t felt before, something reminding her of love and longing.
“Yes?” Her voice was strained, held back by the strength she used to keep herself somewhat composed. She didn’t want to cry, didn’t want to give in to the hurt she had managed to deal with for so long. The walls she had built around herself were tall and strong, she didn’t want to risk him tearing them down all over again.
Carlisle stared down at her for a moment, pondering over his words before he let go of her. He stood a step back with his jaw clenched and his eyes turning into a darker shade, “It’s good to see you.”
And then he left her side without another word.
……
She had felt his eyes on her the whole time, even at dinner where he had been sitting a few tables over. Everywhere she went, (y/n) felt his gaze lingering, leaving her torn between the way her body was aching for his closeness and the anger she still felt.
With a relieved sigh she stepped out of her shoes after entering her hotel room, ready to pass out and sleep the day away. All her mind could focus on was Carlisle, the man she had never been able to let go of and perhaps never will.
She didn’t get far, frozen on her way to the bathroom as the sound of somebody knocking on her door reached her. Slowly, (y/n) walked back towards the entrance, already having a suspicion of who was standing on the other side.
She could only stare up at him, letting her eyes take in his handsome features before wordlessly stepping aside to let Carlisle in. For a moment or two, they let silence engulf them, wrapping itself around them as (y/n) sat down on the bed.
“I’m sorry, (y/n). I am sorry I didn’t reach out and I’m sorry for leaving you like that. That wasn’t fair on you.” Carlisle kept his distance as he spoke, fingers interlaced in front of himself while he kept his eyes focused on her frowning features.
“You’re right, it wasn’t fair. Especially calling it a mistake when we both know it wasn’t one.” His jaw muscles ticked in anger, staring at her with something she couldn’t pinpoint - anger, annoyance and perhaps a speck of guilt. Whatever it was, it made her stomach sink, forced to accept that both could never escape the tension lingering between them.
“It was a mistake, (y/n)! I’m your father’s best friend, and so much older than you. This isn’t fair on you.” The last part of his rambling left her frozen, wondering if he had meant to voice it out like that. She cocked her head to the side while studying him for a moment or two.
“Not fair on me? What does that mean, Carlisle?” The sigh leaving him was stronger than anticipated, making him appear more confused and torn than she had ever seen him before. Something inside of her spurred her on to reach out her hand for him to take, to pull him closer before he settled on the mattress next to her.
“It was wrong of me to feel that way about you, (y/n). You deserve someone you can be with, someone your age who can be by your side whenever you need them to, and not somebody you’d have to hide.” Slowly, his hand was placed on her knee, squeezing it softly before trying to pull away again. But (y/n) was faster, settling her warm hand on top of his cold one to keep him close.
“But that’s my choice to make, isn’t it?” Her voice was low, barely carrying any strength as she looked at their hands. Perhaps it was foolish of her to chase something she hadn’t been able to reach for in years, something she should have gotten over years ago. And yet she couldn’t, she was drawn to Carlisle Cullen like a moth to a flame, like a trail of blood leading him straight to her fatal end.
“This isn’t right, sweetheart.” His pained voice drew her gaze up to him, getting lost in the pupils that have watched the world change for the past three hundred and so years. Carlisle let go of her hand as he stood to his full height, chasing the distance once again to leave her behind with a heavy heart.
“I’ll see you tomorrow, try to get some sleep in.” And with those words he left her alone with her darkening thoughts.
……
Her eyes were drawn to his frame at any given chance while she held her talk. (Y/n) could barely focus on her presentation, fully focusing on Carlisle and the proud expression tugging on his features. Their conversation from yesterday evening kept replaying in her mind, leaving her distracted by the emotions whispering to her.
She knew that they couldn’t leave things like that, they needed to have another talk, even though she wasn’t sure what else was left to be shared. Ever since that night she had wondered if there was something she could have said to him, something to beg Carlisle to fight for whatever had been lingering between them, words that had lost their meaning over the years.
“Thank you for your attention!” Her legs trembled as she walked off stage, hiding away in the hallway to try and collect herself. Her heart was pounding, and even though one could blame her nerves for it, she knew that Carlisle was the cause of it, distracting her from all things she needed to do at this conference.
“(Y/n),” his soft voice ripped her out of her thoughts, eyes flickering up to meet his concerned ones. He was standing close, towering over her like a colossus. His hands found her arms, holding onto her while she took a few deep breaths. “Atta girl, you’ve done so well up there, I’m so proud of you.”
“Carlisle,” she choked on his name, letting her head rest against his chest while he pulled her in. The walls began to crash down one by one, leaving nothing but dusty clouds he walked through effortlessly. She lost all grip on her strength as she shifted her weight onto her toes to press her lips against his. A chance to chase whatever it was her heart was aching for, a moment of weakness that was about to lead their path into another direction.
He didn’t fight the kiss like she feared he would, only pulled her closer to deepen the kiss. This kiss felt nothing like the ones they had shared that one night years ago, it was rawer, filled with unspoken longings that had only grown over the years.
He broke the kiss with darkening eyes, letting his gaze wander down the hallway before he pulled her with him. Within moments she found herself pressed against the door of an empty room, engulfed by darkness. Their lips found back together like magnets made to fit as his hands shuffled her dress up to her waist.
“We shouldn’t do this.” Carlisle’s voice didn’t carry any strength, it seemed as if he tried to remind himself of his boundaries, trying to rip himself out of the waves of pleasure he was drowning in. Nothing but meaningless words that were forgotten the second her hands found his belt.
“We should, fuck, don’t you dare stop touching me, Carlisle.” She freed his hardening cock from his suit trousers, wrapping her hand around it while he pushed her damp panties aside. (Y/n) wrapped one leg around his waist, trapping him against her to try and keep him close in fear of him stepping away once again.
But it seemed as if Carlisle had long lost the fight, a victim to the emotions both couldn’t shake. His cold fingers circled her pulsing bundle, offering the perfect contrast to the heat swallowing her wholly.
“Fuck, sweetheart, you’re still so tight for me. Did you let somebody else fuck you?” She was almost embarrassed at the way she shook her head and mumbled a soft “No”. (Y/n) hadn’t been able to touch somebody else, not after experiencing what being with Carlisle was like. A groan left him, spurring her on to pump him faster, feeling him twitch against her hold.
“Will you fuck me? Please, Carlisle. Remind me of what it feels like to be yours.” (Y/n) was proud of herself for managing to speak coherent sentences, even though she was slowly losing her grip on reality. Her distraction only grew as Carlisle pushed her hand away from his cock to align himself with her dripping heat.
His lips found hers the second he pushed into her, forcing her tightness to adjust to him again after all these years. Without breaking the kiss, he picked her up, forcing both her legs around his waist to fuck her against the door. Darkness consumed every part of her body, guiding her through the sensation keeping her trapped.
Groans and curses left them both, clawing out of them while they fucked like they had dreamt of doing for years now. It felt almost too perfect to have him buried so deep inside of her, a perfect match both had been searching for for way too long.
“You feel like heaven, sweetheart. But fuck, you’re my downfall.” (Y/n) could only moan as a response to his rasped words, clinging to the man who fucked her harder and faster with every passing thrust. Her insides tingled, goosebumps littered her skin, all while giving every part of herself to the man she was still in love with.
“Carlisle,” she sobbed his name, head thrown back against the door, legs quivering around his waist. (Y/n) was close, ready to give her all to the man who fucked her with his mind set on drawing a powerful orgasm out of her. She scratched at his neck, trying to hold on but miserably failing to do so as she was thrown off the cliff.
Carlisle pressed his lips against hers to muffle her sounds, swallowing the moans clawing through her as he kept snapping his hips against hers. It took him a few more ferocious thrusts to follow her down the edge, to let go of a groan himself that vibrated on her lips.
She clung to him for a few more moments, needing to catch her breath before she could stand on her trembling feet again. Carlisle kept his grip on her waist, only letting go to redress himself before pulling (y/n) in again.
“Please don’t call this another mistake.” Her whispers left his heart aching, forcing him to shake his head before softly kissing her.
“I promise, sweetheart, this wasn’t and will never be a mistake. I shouldn’t have let you go and I will work hard to make up for our lost time.”

About you
[Katsuki bakugo x Reader]
Inspired to the song About you
!Story is Angst to fluff!
Synopsis: You were excited to reveal the news to your husband katsuki after 5 years of marriage just to receive news that he got hit by a memory quirk.
⚠️ warnings⚠️
Grammatical errors, wrong spelling, Angst, the story is a bit of an open ending, I made it Angst to fluff cause my heart couldn't take full Angst right now.
You waited for the day to end excited to give the box you've been working onto for the whole week to katsuki. You did your very best to hid the pregnancy test and not be suspicious cause you want to make it a special surprise to him. You also made a meal, his favorite spicy ramen. The day officially ended its currently 7 pm and he's still not yet home. You thought he was just having another overtime at work since being top pro hero is a hassle for him.
You're getting anxious since katsuki still hasn't knocked, he should be home by now since it's already 9 Pm in night now.
Your phone rang, you were excited to hear katsuki is on his way home, but when you picked your phone up turns out it's Mina whose calling you. You're quite disappointed but still picked the call up either way.
"Hey girl, how are you?" You heard the pink haired through the phone.
"I'm just waiting for katsuki, you know the surprise I've been working the whole," you replied happily.
"Yeah" Mina replied lowly in the other end of the phone. "Babe, katsuki need you right now."
Your heart dropped, what could possibly happen to your lover? You hurriedly put your winter coat on and picked your keys up to drive your way to the hospital.
"I'll be on my way Mina, send me the location."
After minutes of driving you finally arrived at the hospital, you ran to his room. You opened the door meeting kirishima's whose just about to leave, him seeing your worried look and state, "We'll help you fix this [y/n], I'll go on patrol now," he pats your head and leaves.
You saw katsuki with minimal bruise and talking to his other friends and a doctor on his side asking him questions. You ran to him and hugged his back, he was caught off guard by your presence. "You dummy, you always gets me worried," you said crying onto his back.
"Hey ma'am are you a relative of dynamight?" The doctor asked. "Yeah, I'm his wife," you responded looking at katsuki's confused look. "I have a wife?" Katsuki asked which made you looked confused aswell, it made your heart ache of what he have said.
"Ma'am, let's talk outside for now," the doctor said leading you outside still confused of what is happening. "As you can see dynamight is out to capture a villain, but due to its quirk he had lost some of his memories, the memories lost is still not sure but I think you're one of it. He could still remember all of his friends but you ma'am." He explained patting your shoulder.
Still flabbergasted of what the doctor have said, "that's impossible, how could this happen?" As tears slowly forming in your eyes. "Since it's just a quirk maybe we could still fix this, but we wouldn't guarantee, all you can do is help him remember atleast Ma'am." You heart aches more and clutch onto your stomach.
Still on tears when Mina approaches you and hugged you, your body felt weak and lean onto mina's hug. "How can I tell him I'm pregnant if he wouldn't even remember he has a wife?" You said while sobbing. "Babe, it's okay we'll find a way, we'll help him remember you." Mina hugged you tightly as she fight her tears away.
Mina knows how katsuki love you so much and how nice person you are, their hearts broke also knowing that he only forgotten about you. It's must be something about this villains quirk. Mina is doing her best to comfort and calm you down since you're pregnant and it's your first trimester so the baby is in sensitive state. She's worried of how your pregnancy will go in this kind of problem your facing.
"Katsuki said his heart calmed down when you entered the room for some reason, maybe there's still chance [y/n]" mina assured you wiping your tears away. "Let's go see katsuki, maybe he'll recall some," mina held your hand leading you to the room. Your swollen red eyes is still visible, some of his classmates left, telling you to be strong and they have to go for now.
"H-hey kats..." you tried to speak up only some few steps away from him. You looked at him trying your best to smile to not worry him any longer. "Do you remember me?" You asked in a low voice.
Katsuki looks at your state, his heart shrunk seeing you said for some reason, his instinct wants to hug you and comfort you "I'm sorry, I don't," he replied.
Your heart couldn't take what's happening today and couldn't let your voice out or speak to him. "But for some reason I don't like seeing you crying," he said looking at the bed sheets avoiding your gaze. "I'll try my best to recall everything, don't worry."
Somehow your heart calmed a bit from his words, your husband katsuki is still the same after all, he just forgotten about you. But hearing him say he'll try makes you believe that your family could still be back. You gave him a warm smile wiping your tears away "then we'll wait for you kats."
Katsuki heart warmed down aswell seeing you happy. He couldn't respond and just nod at your respons.
Few hours had passed of you and katsuki talking at helping him recover, "Hey, it's late do you want me to drive you home?" Kaminari said. "Ah, yeah.. I guess it's late, I'll visit you tomorrow kats" you said and lean to give him a kiss on his cheek. As much as you want to peck his lips, you think it'd weird him out.
Bakugo did not push your actions away and just gave into it, he knew the pain your into right now. "Okay drive safely," he added seeing your small frame leaving the room with kaminari. "I'll take care of her bro, see ya," kaminari waved at katsuki leaving.
You and kaminari finally arrived in your home "Hey, stay strong we'll figure this out," he pats your shoulder. "Thanks, drive safely also," you went out of his car and wave as goodbye to him.
You went inside your shared home with katsuki, everything still hasn't sink into you, looking at your wedding photos in the hallway praying that this wouldn't be the end of your marriage and soon to be family. You can't help but cry and be worried to not get your baby's development in critical. You just sleep your tears away too tired for the day.
Days had passed, you visited katsuki every day to check any progress, its taking slow but you always prayed for his memory recovery, you still haven't told him your surprise yet. You Don't even know when will you have the chance to tell him, will be happy if he knew it? Will he accept it now in his current state?
Katsuki finally got discharge from the hospital and the doctor recommended for him to stay at home for more chance of recovering his memories. "This is the house you and I designed with the help of your dad," you said opening the doorknob. He just follow through inside seeing the photos of your wedding in the walls, photos of your dates, engagement proposal in the shelf. It just feels home here, even seeing your frame felt like home to him.
Even without his memories he can feel how safe he is with you, which even eagers him to recover faster. He felt his head ache upon seeing your home, "Hey are you okay?" You asked worried. "Yeah, just maybe some is sinking in me," he assured you.
"You designed this kitchen cause you love to cook, you often cook meals even if you're tired with work," you chuckled looking in the kitchen. "You always told me cause I like it extra special for you," he smiled of what you have said, happy that he does his hobby and is a good husband to you.
"You also insist putting orange accent in our house since it's your favorite color," you said pointing out the orange designs. "You also said you'd want our future kids room to be orange," you chuckled to those memories. He also laughed hearing it really reminds of him, everything you just said is very him. "Damn right, I also want them wearing my custom hero suit," he respond grabbing your waist.
Your shocked of his sudden actions but just gave into the moment, maybe he's really trying his best to fix this. "I'll just go to the bathroom, I'll be back" you said and went to the bathroom.
Katsuki room freely around the house and found a orange box with a cute ribbon wrapped around it. He got curious on what could be inside of it, maybe some old photos or collection? Maybe it could help him regain his memories. He opened the box revealing 2 pregnancy test and a photo of ultra sound, his eyes widened seeing the whole box. It also has a note in the lid "We're coming soon dad" he can't help but cry seeing the whole thing, it also includes one baby clothes whose color is orange and a hand written letter by you.
You just finished going in the bathroom and went around the house to find katsuki, you found him in the room crying? "Hey, kats what are you looking at.." As your voice kept on getting lower and lower, seeing him crying over your soon to be surprise to him. You can't help but cry also, "that was supposed to be my surprise the day you lost your memories," you said wiping your tears away.
"I wonder if it's a girl or a boy," he said chuckling holding onto the baby clothes with a "baby dynamight" design on it. Your eyes lighten up seeing him so happy with your surprise for him. "You always told me you'd want to have a boy so you could train him to be strong like you, either way even if it's a girl you know she'd be as strong like you," you said walking to his side.
He hugged you tightly tears still streaming in his face, he couldn't help it, deep inside him felt so full and happy seeing the box. "Wait for me,I'll figure this out," he said circling his hands in your back. "You better be," you said hugging him back.
The night ended better than you expected, you showed him the photo album of his collection photos. He got his photograph habbit from his mom, he would secretly take you pictures and put it in the album, and photos of you together, anytime and anywhere as long as he feels like it.
He can't help but smile thinking he's so lucky marrying a kind of woman like you, he wonders what he did in life to even get you to marry him? You can see him try to recall each picture and memories you tell him, being patient and praying for his fast recovery.
I'd recommend you to play the music About you by The 1975 here:
Months had passed, you would invite him to the places he'd often bring you for hopes of triggering his memories. The villain is also being investigated on how to reverse his quirk, but to no avail he wouldn't talk and would just often laugh and say "that dynamight deserve to lose everything special to him." Katsuki wanted to blow the person up, but there's a thick glass in between them. "You fucker ruining everyones family!? Dammit my wife and kid need me you fucking villain!" He exclaimed punching through the glass.
"You fucking deserve it dynamight, you also once caught my kid, here is my small gift to you, and that memory of yours will forever poof" the villain laughed through the other side. Bakugo is about to blow up the whole place due to his anger but his teacher came into place and place him his hand onto his shoulder. "Calm down, there's still other way," aizawa said as you're face so happy flashed into his face and calmed himself up. "Rot in hell Fucker," he said one last time.
Everything felt like the first time meeting katsuki, you felt sad about it but also feel so happy seeing him try and accepted the fact of your soon to be born kid. He would be present in your ultra sounds, seeing his eyes light up looking in the monitor holding your hands so firm.
He still gave you the same love, katsuki grew attached to you even if his memories with you is just from the past few months. He would sometimes talk about what his kid will be, if it's a boy will if look exactly like him? You wished. If it's a girl will it replicate your looks? He wished.
He would do the same exact things you told him he always do for you, such as cooking you meal everytime. He also designed the room of your soon to be kid with an accent of orange on it and a logo of his "baby dynamight."
He just didn't tell you that he's slowly regaining some of his memories by himself and with Eri's quirk helping him reverse the quirk used in him. He would sometimes secretly laugh in your stories making him look that "he's such a nice guy" and "he always love kids on your dating years" how you fabricate some of his traits. Your trying to make his memories nice.
He would do the things you like and love, such as him buying you sunflowers and tulips cause it's your favorites, he'd say he asked his friends and just wanted to do someth nice to you.
He couldn't help but be happy spending time to with you telling him stories of your life together, he wished he could stay in this moment forever with you and his Lil family. You're also happy how your soon to be family is slowly forming. His mother Mitsuki would sometimes asked how are you and the baby doing, wishing you a Goodluck on his son's recovery.
It's your fifth month in pregnancy, you belly is getting heavier and bigger, but katsuki would still complement that you're so fucking gorgeous and encourage you. You planned a date and gender reveal with him, just the two of you.
You went to the same park you both always go and ready a small picnic in it. You ordered a gender reveal cake for a small celebration with your lover. "Okay so we'll both use this glass to cut through the cake and reveal the gender," you explained the mechanics to him happily. "Okay, okay boss" he said patting your head.
You both cut through the cake and seeing a blue and pink? Bakugo saw pink in his side and yours a blue. "I got pink" katsuki said "I got blue" you said. Katsuki eyes widen "it's a twin?" He asked you so confused. "Yeah" you chuckled. "I thought the twins would be boys, but I guess it's both!" You said wiping the minimal tears in your eyes.
He hugged you carefully trying not to hurt you and your belly. "Damn your a super mom" he said rubbing your belly. "I also have something to say, I've also regained all my memories with Eri's help," he said cupping your cheeks. Your eyes also widen and started to cry, "you dummy today was supposed to be my surprise to you," he wiped your tears away. "I'm so happy kats," he smiled and peck your lips. "Me too [y/n]" you kissed him back.
Do you think I have forgotten? (About you)
Thank you for reading till end T^T hope you liked it!! \(♡3♡)/ please tell me what you feel in this story! Love lots dynamight🧡

Okay not slick Sunday related but you like angst and I got inspired. Sorry it ran away
So it's post s4, Eddie starts withdrawing. Steve thinks it's from the party in general, but it's just him. He's kind of hurt/insulted and decides after trying to reach out that if Eddie doesn't want to know Steve and all that if what he said in the UD was bs then he doesn't get to know him as a person, though it kind of hurts cause he has a small crush on Eddie. He’s bi, thought Robin and Eddie were aware at least even though they’ve never talked about it.
Well cut to him finding out that everyone else is hanging with them, inviting them separately to things until Steve find out that the party, including Robin went to go see a movie (the lost boys) and Steve was so excited to see it with Robin. (They do this as to keep the peace not malicious intent) So when she's not available Steve goes by himself to stare at the guys and ladies in the movie, except when he gets there he sees the whole party front row and it breaks everything he got left. He feels excluded, like everyone was kicking him out.
So Steve withdraws, the few calls that come he ignores, or he rejects offers to hang out. He starts switching shifts with Kieth and then just stops showing up and quits. I like to believe his mom is a good but misguided mom, so she's worried about her boy. She takes him to Indiana for a doctors appointment.
He goes on these meds to help with his depression episode, (I'm basing this off how my therapy worked) once a week he has to go to Indiana for therapy appointment. So on top of that, his mom starts to think maybe he’d be better off in a larger city, closer to his therapist, maybe find a school that she can persuade her husband to let Steve attend. She knows her husbands is just an attachment best that runs her parents company. She brings it up as softly as she can and Steve promises to think about it, give his friends the benefit of the doubt.
So it’s the end of summer, the kids are going back to school for the 1987-1988 school year, everyone is getting together before everyone goes to schools across the country, Steve decided to host the party. Robin is over the moon that her platonic soulmate seems back to his old self (once again basing this on my own history with antidepressants) if not more bubbly. His mother is there, tanning as all the kids play in the pool, keeping an eye on her boy.
It’s the happiest she’s seen him in the last few weeks, even though his bad days are still prominent. Alls good until Eddie and his Uncle show up, cause he had invited them, he was part of the party, but there was a lingering atmosphere about them. The kids and Eddie are splashing in the pool, Steve just withdraws watching them letting Robin do the rambling she does. She’s going on and on about stuff and starts a story where Eddie had taken her to Indiana to her first gay club and she got to kiss her first girl and she’s just so excited and happy and Steve is just frozen.
That’s what he was planning to do, help Robin meet her own community other than he and Eddie, to branch out. He’s happy for her she’s finally gotten a kiss, but she just gushing about how Eddie did this, Eddie did that, and some part of Steve’s brain just gave up. To him he was finally replaced in Robin’s life.
Without a word and shaking hands, Steve just walks to his mom and whispers that he wants to go to Indiana and start a new life. She just nods and walks him inside and away from others, of course Robin follows (I don’t know, maybe worried or angry that Steve just blew her off after ignoring her for so long). Either way, his mom lets him lay down in the downstairs guest room, away from prying eyes.
She’s already planning the move and her connections while shooing Robin outside. So plans are made, after the party, the week school starts there is a for sales sign and moving truck.
I feel like Dustin would be the one to find them on the way out, ready to tell Steve about his exciting first day as a sophomore. Steve just tells him that he’s gotta move on, that he’s just a phone call away. He’s all but begging Steve, asking who he’d spend time with and watch movies. Steve just tells him they can do that over the phone or he can get Eddie to hang out.
Steve leaves with his mom while Dustin goes and begs Eddie or the others to stop him from leaving. Of course no one knew and the only thing left was a note on the door to Eddie asking him to watch over the kids.
Steve lives better, going to school to be a teacher. He’s got an apartment that he lives in just off the school Campus. It’s been a few years, calls between the group and the kids are graduating. Of course Steve has to go back for graduation, he surprises them. Dustin refuses to not let him go and Robin and Eddie sit and catch up. He comes clean about how he felt pushed out and needed help to work through everything and once he finishes school he may come back.
Let’s just say when Steve talks to them about his last few relationships and they’re just shocked cause they had no idea that Steve was bi. Steve just plays it off that but admits that he had the tiniest crush on Eddie which makes him sputter and ask why he hadn’t said anything. Steve just says he knew Eddie didn’t like him so he wasn’t going to bring it up which leads to both talking out their misunderstandings and apologize.
Let’s just say if there’s a few trips to Indiana for Eddie in the future and then when Steve decides to go back home they become “roommates”
god i am such a sucker for steve suffering and thinking nobody loves him🥺 (don’t read too deeply into that)

July 2021
Cole stood with Trevor watching you play beer pong with Alex and Jack, a smile bright on his face knowing how well you got along with his best friends.
The two of you had grown up together, both committing to Wisconsin together and both planning a full time move to Montreal this upcoming fall, for Cole to play his first full nhl season and you to being your career in interior design.
“Dude Just ask her out already, the way you two stare at each other is creepy” Trevor laughed beside him.
“We don’t stare at each other!” Cole defended, “I’m just watching her and Alex destroy Jack” he shrugged.
“Dude you two need to give it up already and just admit your feelings, or at least fuck. She’s a dime, and if you don’t swoop her up someone else will” the New York native spoke as he downed the rest of his beer and left his friend alone.
Cole didn’t want to admit his friend was right but sadly he was. He’d always felt something for you, he wasn’t really sure what exactly her felt but he’d always found himself being drawn to you.
Not to mention the way you stood by his side through everything, the way you cried into his shoulder when he was drafted, stood by his side and cried again when he won the Hobey Baker award; Twice. How you talked his anxiety away before his first nhl game and comforted him when the habs lost the cup final.
You were always there for him and he was forever grateful to have someone as amazing as you in his life.
He was taken out of his thoughts at the sight of your bubbly frame making your way towards him with a beaming smile on your face.
“You kick his ass?” He laughed as your arms wrapped around him, his hand that wasn’t holding his drink wrapping around your waist to pull you into his side.
“Annihilated Him” you smirked before cuddling even more into his side.
A blush tinting your cheeks at the feeling of his lips pressing against your head and the way his hand ran up and down your back.
Cole smirked at the shudder that ran down your body at his touch, he always noticed how you always got goosebumps when he was touching you.
“Wanna come get a some snacks with me?” He asked into your hair.
“Sure” you smiled and followed him inside the house.
You took a seat on the counter while Cole scattered through the fridge and cabinets looking for food, “what sounds good to you?” He asked, back facing you.
You weren’t sure if it was the small amount of alcohol in your system or the severe amount of built up sexual tension between the two of you that made you say it but it came out either way.
“You” you spoke causing the blonde boy to turn around quickly.
“What?” He asked making sure he heard you correctly.
“You heard me Cole, I want you” you extended a leg out to wrap around his hip and pull him forward.
“Are you sure? This could mess things up between us if it doesn’t work out” He attempted to be the voice of reason even though he was slotting himself between your thighs.
“I’m positive Cole” you assured before pulling the boy in for a deep kiss.

August 2021
Something was up, you had been sick all week and you couldn’t take it anymore. All the guys besides Alex had gone out to golf, having a late night before hand the Kings player decided to stay in.
“Why don’t we run to urgent Care? You could have a real bad case of food poisoning and you and Cole are supposed to leave in three days” He tried.
“Okay fine, let me get ready” you spoke finally agreeing with the boy who had been pushing you to go to the doctors after three days of consistent puking.
You were sat in the room with Alex in the chair next to you, they had wrote all of your symptoms down and had taken blood and urine samples.
“This is taking forever” you grumbled, a hand subconsciously rubbing over your stomach.
“I’m sure it won’t be much longer” the curly haired boy beside you spoke.
Just as you were about to issue another complaint the door opened and the doctor came in with a worried expression on her face.
“So I have some news sweetheart and I’m not really sure if it’s good or bad” she smiled sympathetically causing your stomach to drop.
You and Alex shared a quick look before you asked her to continue.
“You’re five weeks pregnant” she said.
You felt like your world stopped spinning for a moment, Pregnant? There was no way you were pregnant.
“No I’m sorry, it has to be a false negative” you laughed in disbelief.
“Honey your blood and urine test came back positive” she added.
“But I haven’t had any unprotec-“ yes you did, with Cole. Five weeks ago.
“Oh no” you cried, dropping your head into your hands.
“I’m assuming this wasn’t what you wanted to hear, uh are you the father?” She asked pointing to Alex
“Uh no, best friend” he awkwardly smiled in reply.
“Baby-daddy is out golfing” you cried, feeling like a train of emotions hit you at once.
“What? Oh-oh shit” Alex spoke as he finally connected all the dots, you and Cole disappearing that July night and you walking out of his room the next morning with disheveled hair and a limp.
After getting a talk through of the calls and appointments you needed to make the doctor let you leave with some paperwork and a copy of your test results.
“What am I gonna do Alex? There’s no way he wants a baby right now! He’s about to start his first season in the NHL” you cried out to the boy in the drivers seat.
“Hey calm down, I’m sure if you guys talk it out everything will be okay” he smiled reassuringly and patted your knee.
Returning home you found Cole and Jacks cars in the driveway meaning everyone was home.
“Relax, it’s going to be okay” Alex spoke up sensing your anxiety.
You nodded with a smile as you both made your way into the house, hearing everyone in the kitchen.
“Hey we were wondering where you to went” Jack spoke as he watched you both enter.
“Finally convinced someone to go to a doctor” Alex laughed in attempt to get the boys off your back so you could find Cole.
“Uh do you guys know where Cole is?” You asked.
“His room” Trevor replied, he knew something was wrong he could see it on your face and in your eyes.
Mumbling a thank you, you made your way up to the Centers bedroom knocking before entering.
“Hey, everything okay? We came back and you guys were gone” he smiled pulling you into his side from where he stood.
“Um, We need to talk. And you might want to sit down” you mumbled.
“Okay..” he said as he sat at the edge of the bed, you standing in front of him.
“So we went to urgent care to see what was going on and it’s not food poisoning” you began.
“Oh that’s great, what did they say you sicknesses is from then?” Cole smiled happy that you weren’t sick.
“I-uh, I’m five weeks pregnant Cole”
You could see the boy physically pale at the words that dropped from your mouth, his smile had dropped and he looked at you like a deer in headlights.
“I-your what?” He stuttered out in disbelief.
“Pregnant” you whispered.
“Okay” he nodded
“Okay? You’re just perfectly fine with this?” You panicked.
“No, I mean I’m fucking terrified but this is our fault. Our parents taught us what protection is and we chose not to use it. But if this isn’t what you want I won’t be bad, I understand” he softly spoke as he stood up and wrapped you in a hug.
“I’m so scared Cole” you finally broke down.
“Me to but we got this, I promise I will never let you or this baby down” he promised into your ear.

November 2021
“Do we have any ice cream left?” You asked looking over at Cole as he sat on the sectional next to you.
“No I gave you the rest last night” he replied
“Can we go to the store?” You smiled up at the man.
“Y/n it’s midnight” he laughed.
“It’s for the baby though! She wants it not me” you pouted.
You two had found the gender a few weeks ago and Cole was beyond excited to be having a baby girl.
“Come on please! I’ll even drive” you offered, doing your best to get the boy to agree with you.
“Fine” he sighed but a smile still covered his face.
“Yay! Come on” you squealed jumping up and heading to the door and sliding on your crocs and grabbing your car keys.
Cole followed behind you slipping on his own shoes, following closely behind you towards the elevator. He smiled at your little dance as you skipped in pure excitement at the thought of getting ice cream.
You sported one of his Wisconsin hoodies, leggings, and your fuzzy crocs-the boy truly thought you’d never looked better.
The ride to the twenty-four hour grocery wasn’t long and you made it there quickly.
“What flavor are you thinking?” He asked as you stood in front of the ice cream section, a look of pure concentration on your face.
“I don’t know, trying to get the baby to send me signals” you groaned knowing it had to hit just right to satisfy the craving.
He laughed, “okay well I’m gonna go grab some chicken while you and our girl pick your flavor” he he smiled softly at your small okay.
Finally after ten minutes you settled on cotton candy and made your way to the meat section to find Cole.
However your happy mood suddenly dropped when you seen what had been taking the boy so long, pretty little brunette.
She stood clad in an outfit not much different then yours, a beautiful smile beaming up at Cole as she made him laugh with something she said-His smile mirroring hers.
You really didn’t have a right to be jealous, you and Cole had both felt that a relationship wouldn’t work between the two of you and that doing this as best friends would be better. But for some reason you couldn’t shake the unsettling feeling in your lower stomach.
Sensing eyes on him Cole turned to find you in a staring contest with the ground, obviously stuck in your thoughts.
The girl had followed his eyes to where you stood, body being swallowed by a hoodie that obviously didn’t belong to you.
“Oh I didn’t know you had a girlfriend” she mumbled stepping back a bit.
“She’s not-it’s complicated” he mumbled.
“On and off again complicated Or?” She asked trying to get him to continue.
“We’re best friends but we did some stuff that ended us in a sticky situation, and now I’m not really sure what we are” he did his best not wanted to expose his entire private life to a stranger.
“Ahh” she nodded before continuing, “well if it’s not a problem with you, I’d like to give you my number” she blushed.
“Yeah sure” he blushed back and handed his phone over.
-
November 2021
“Do I look okay?” He questioned stepping out of his room dressed in a nice sweater and jeans.
“You look great” you smiled at the boy.
Cole had began talking to the girl from the grocery store-Sophia was her name, and tonight they had a date.
He nodded in thanks before gathering his things and turning back to you, “You sure you’ll be okay while I’m gone?” He asked
“Yeah, me and Emma are going to grab some pizza and maybe a movie, I’ll be good” you smiled at the boy.
“Okay just call me I-Oh!” He stoped himself and ran back over to you.
“What’s wrong?” You asked with worry at his sudden move.
He ignored you and just leaned down to pull your shirt up over your bump and placed a kiss to the center of your belly.
“Bye sweet girl, be good for mommy” he whispered and placed two more quick kisses to the same spot.
“Had to tell her bye” he shrugged before placing a kiss to your head and heading out the front door.
When Cole returned home that night he found you bundled up and fast asleep on the couch, his heart warmed at the sight. He loved coming home to you and he always would, especially once your baby got here.
Scooping you up in his arms bridal style he carried you to your bedroom, his lips parted in a bright smile at the feeling of you cuddling into his chest.
“God I love you” he whispered to himself as he laid you down and watched you snuggle into your pillow.
Cole wasn’t sure what it was that made him do it but next thing he knew he was opening his phone to text Sophia, thanking her for tonight but that he wasn’t really feeling a relationship; it was a shitty lie but he knew the only girls he’d want in his arms were you and your daughter.
-
March 2022
“You look beautiful” a voice spoke from behind you causing you to jump.
“Christ Cole! You scared the shit out of me” you groaned as you turned around to face the blonde.
“I’m Sorry. But seriously you look gorgeous, stop judging yourself” he scolded you.
“I just feel fat! Nothing fits and my feet hurt” you cried.
It was the morning of your baby shower and all the dresses you had picked didn’t seem to fit anymore causing you to rip through your closet like a mad woman.
“You are not fat, you’re growing our gorgeous baby girl in there” he softly spoke as he made his way towards you.
He came up behind you and wrapped his arms around you while his hands rubbed your belly, smiling as he felt his daughter kick him.
“You look absolutely stunning Y/n, and I love this dress” he complimented.
“Thank you but you’re not really helping” you groaned, head leaning back to rest against his chest.
“Yeah why not?”
“Because I’m an overly hormonal pregnant woman and you just turned me on when both of our families are down the hall”
-
April 2022
“Oh my god Cole she’s perfect” You whispered to the man who was still clad in his dress pants, button up and suit jacket long discarded due to wanting skin to skin with his daughter.
You had gone into Labor right as the Habs were exiting the plane from their short trip to Ottawa meaning cole rushed in right from the airport, not having time to change out of his suit.
“She’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen” he spoke in a soft voice, tears brimming his eyes as he continued to star at his daughter.
“I can’t believe we made that” you laughed
“Thank you” he suddenly said as he turned to face you, face as serious as ever.
“For what?”
“For giving me a family. I’ve never seen myself settling down or having a child but you’ve blessed me with the most beautiful thing in the world. I truly can’t thank you enough Y/n, I’m so thankful you were the one I was able to do this with.”
“Cole come here” you cried as you pulled the man onto the bed with you, carefully of course.
“I’m thankful to you know, it wasn’t exactly on my bucket list to be a mom at twenty one but I’m grateful that it’s you I get to live through this with” you sweetly smiled at the man as he leaned his forehead against yours.
You felt his eyes shift from your lips to you eyes a few times and just as you were both about to lean in, a knock sounded on the door.
-
July 2022
“You know when I said to make a move I didn’t mean knock her up” Trevor spoke to his friend as he helped set up the candles on the dock.
“Yeah way to baby trap her Cole” Alex laughed from where he picked the petals off the roses.
“I did not baby trap her!” The blonde exclaimed causing his three friends to laugh.
“Hey we’re not judging man, you got the girl you wanted and found a way to keep her around forever” Jack spoke
“You guys are assholes, now hurry up and finish helping before her and Ellen get back” he replied with a shake of his head.
An hour later Alex was blindfolding you and leading you out the back door of the Lake house towards the dock.
“Turcs what’s going on?” You laughed hearing your daughter giggle at Jack and Trevor behind you two.
“Nothing! Just be quite” he sassed and continued leading you.
“Okay take it off” he whispered and when you did you felt warmth flood your cheeks and tears prick your waterline.
There on the dock stood Cole surrounded by beautiful bouquets of white roses and candles while red petals covered the wood below him.
“Wha-?” You muttered as you stumbled towards him.
“Hi” he whispered, taking your hands in his as you approached him.
“What’s all this” you smiled with warm tears now running down your cheeks.
“I uh-You-shit this is harder than I thought” he laughed at his self
“I know we haven’t exactly established what we are but um” he began but was cut off by a loud New York accent.
“Just get on your fucking knee!”
Trevor’s voice caused the group around you-that you hadn’t realized was there to laugh. However it did cause Cole to shake off his nerves and drop down onto his knee.
“Things have always been a bit tricky with us but I’ve always known that I loved you. You’ve been there for all my ups and downs, my lowest of lows and highest of highs. These past eleven months have made me realize that I want you forever, I Want to go to bed to you and wake up to you everyday, I’m sick of telling people your just my best friend because baby you are way more than that. I’ve spent everyday loving you and I want to do that forever, so what I’m trying to say is, baby will you marry me?”
A sob broke through your and if it wasn’t for the smile on your face and nod of your head Cole would have been panicking.
“Yes, A thousand times yes” you cried as he slipped the breathtaking oval diamond onto your finger; the ring you showed him in college drunk off your ass, telling him that if someone ever proposed you wanted this one.
“I love you so much” you whispered as his cupped your cheeks to pull you into a kiss.
Your short moment was interrupted by Jack running down and jumping on Cole while Trevor handed you your daughter. Your families joined to share hugs and congratulations, both of your mothers smothering you in kisses and sweet words.
“Fucking finally Cole grew some balls and made it official” you heard Trevor exclaim causing a round of giggles and head nods.
-
April 2023
“Look Rosie! Here comes daddy and uncle Kirby” you exclaimed to your daughter as she stood against the glass.
“Ada!” She giggled as Cole slammed himself against the glass
“Hi baby!” He waved blowing the small one year old a kiss.
He went to open his mouth but his body was pushed out of the way by three large ones causing your daughter to beam brightly at the three men.
“Hi Rosie!”
“Ahoj Kočka”
“Hi pretty girl”
Spoke Arber, Juraj, and Kirby in sync, all three men smiling brightly at their niece, your daughter babbled in return smacking the glass with her tiny hands.
“Can you fuckers move!” You heard your fiancé yell as he pushed between Arber and Juraj to get back in his daughter’s sight, this time with a puck.
“Here baby, daddy got you a puck” he smiled and tossed one over the glass for you to catch.
You smiled fondly at the two, while you hadn’t expected to be a young mom you wouldn’t trade it for the world. You were madly in love with an amazing man and had a beautiful little girl together.
The journey was bumpy but in the end you got the life you’d always wanted

The annual BAU Halloween Costume Competition (Spencer Reid x fem!Bau reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: Spencer wants to win a costume competition, but wins your heart instead.  Word Count: 2.6K Warnings: Other than cursing? extreme fluff.  A/N: Happy Halloreid and Gublerween everyone!! and if you celebrate it, happy Ieroween as well!  Masterlist
Tumblr media
No one could ever say Penelope Garcia threw lousy Halloween parties. They were always fun, with the best food and theme. Over the years, she had organized incredible celebrations for the entire BAU family. It was her moment to shine. Decorations were always spot on, the altar was always ready for pictures of long-lost loved ones. There were theme cocktails and food, but by far, the most important event of the night was the Halloween costume competition.
It had started as a joke during their first Halloween celebration, and over the years, it had turned into the main event of the night. Each year, Penelope made sure she had a prize for the winner of first place and a little something for second and third. In fact, she usually got something for everybody who participated in the party, 'cos that's the kind of host Garcia was.
And that year wasn't the exception.
The entire team was excited about the celebration. They needed a moment to relax after the last couple of cases they had had. Well, the entire team except for Spencer Walter Reid. Instead of looking forward to the celebration, he was freaking out trying to find the best costume to finally win the BAU Costume Competition. Why? because he was the only member of the team who had never won first place. Hell! He never even got second or third. He just got a participation price every year. And he hated it.
Halloween was Spencer's favorite holiday. He wasn't really into Christmas, it was too emotional and it reminded him of all the holidays he spent alone with his mother growing up, and how sometimes she wouldn't even remember it was Christmas. New Year wasn't his type of celebration 'cos he wasn't a party guy. He didn't enjoy clubbing and his definition of a fun evening included a bunch of books, herbal tea, and his couch. Not to mention Valentines. That was a miserable holiday for Reid. He never had a date that day, and the only girl he wanted to ask out was - at least according to his own words - way out of his league. So, to sum it up, Spencer's favorite holiday was Halloween and he couldn't even win a work costume competition.
He felt it was personal that year. He had to win. He had to have his moment of joy.
- "See you all guys tonight in my house!"- Garcia was beaming as she stood in front of the team that October 31st during their daily morning meeting.- "Everything is ready! We are going to have so much fun!"
- "We'll be there at seven. Savannah is very excited."- Morgan clapped his hands once and chuckled- "And you can all forget about winning this year's costume contest, 'cos me and my girl are gonna kill it."
- "I don't know, me and Will have a matching costume that could be the best one yet."- JJ smiled confidently at Morgan and Spencer frowned.
- "Do couples' costumes get more points?"- the young doctor asked, confused.
- "No, but they are fun!"- Garcia explained with a huge grin. - "Do you have your costume ready, boy wonder?"
- "Yes, and I don't mean to get cocky, but I'm sure this year you are all going to be amazed."- Reid answered with a smirk on his face.
- "No more Doctor Who then?"- Emily teased, chuckling- "You didn't knit any scarf this year."
- "My knitting skills are saved for Whovian's conventions only."- Spencer replied, making Em laugh. - "And I won't say a thing about my costume, it will be a surprise."
- "Hey, Spencer."- Garcia whispered and grabbed his sleeve as they all walked out of the briefing room, forcing him to stay behind with her.- "I was wondering if you are planning to ask (Y/N) out, or if you are going together to the party."
And Spencer's heart stopped. He opened his eyes and stared at his friend in disbelief. Not that he thought no one knew about his crush on his teammate. He just wasn't ready to deal with it just yet.
- "Ok, breathe, Reid!"- Garcia shook his arm as he nearly panicked in silence, standing in front of her. - "You don't have to do anything you don't want to, but it's getting painful to watch. She likes you too!"
- "I don't... I don't feel."- Spencer tried to rearrange the words in his head, but failed. Instead, all he managed to do was frown and sigh.
- "Wow, an IQ of 187 slashed to nothing just like that. It's amazing. You hear the legends about it, but when you see it happen, it's disturbing."- Penelope did her best not to laugh at Spencer's humiliated face. His cheeks were burning as he kept trying to explain what was happening inside his brilliant brain.
- "You don't get it, I can't ask (Y/N) out! We work together! We are on the same FBI team! What if it doesn't work? What if I lose my friend all because I thought I had a shot with her? or worse! What if she doesn't like me that way, and she laughs in my face? How do I work with her after that?"
- "But how do you live with yourself now?"- Garcia whispered after Spencer's speech.- "You are alone, loving a girl in silence. That's even worse than failing. That's just being miserable."
Spencer didn't reply. He stared at Garcia in silence as she cut him a short smile and gave him a small hug.
- "I know you love Halloween, maybe tonight could be your night."
That poor man just wanted to win a simple Halloween costume contest, and now he wasn't sure he actually wanted to go to that celebration.
Spencer took his time getting ready for the party. He had picked a Beetlejuice costume that went with his crazy natural hair. He did his makeup, put on the stripped suit, combed his crazy hair, and stared at his reflection in the mirror.
- "You might not get the girl tonight, but you are getting your first prize in that costume competition."- he assured himself in the mirror before leaving his bathroom, ready to go to Garcia's.
- "Reid! Wait for me!"- (Y/N) shouted as she ran to cross the street, holding her bag and wig in place. Spencer turned and stared at her, feeling the wind was knocked out of his lungs. She looked hot. Not good. Hot. Smoking hot. So hot he couldn't help but scan her outfit up and down before he even tried to speak. She was dressed as Lydia Deetz, wearing a red dress that hugged her body in all the right places.
- "Wh... wh... w... wow."- that was all he could say when she smiled at him staring at his costume.
- "I know, right?! I can't believe we are matching!! I had no idea you were coming as Beetlejuice!"
- "I... when I... I really... wow."- Spencer was glad no one could see him making a fool out of himself. Well. no one but the co-worker he loved. Yet, he knew if Morgan or Rossi saw him, it would be worse.
- "You look amazing, Spencer!"- (Y/N) smiled and rubbed his arm as he just stared at her, trying to form an intelligent sentence.
- "Thank you, so do you."- that was all he managed to say. (Y/N) continued smiling as she walked inside the building and into the elevator. Spencer just followed her in silence, trying to make his brain function again.
- "Oh my god!! You look amazing (Y/N)!"- Garcia nearly yelled as she opened the door and found her teammates in the hall. - "And! Oh, Jesus!! You are matching costumes too! This is amazing!"- Spencer smiled, awkwardly, thinking his friend was already one or two cocktails in, which meant that in about half an hour she was potentially going to start embarrassing him in front of (Y/N).
- "So you really wanted the extra point for matching costumes?"- JJ teased Spencer as he and (Y/N) walked into the apartment.
- "You said there were no extra points!"- he replied immediately, hoping no one would start teasing him right away. Because, obviously they would.
- "There are no extra points, but there is extra fun when you get back home."- Morgan teased him, holding Savannah's waist as she stood next to him.- "Is that your plan too, kids?"
- "You guys look amazing!"- (Y/N) ignored Derek's comment and smiled at them. They were dressed as Aladdin and Princess Jazmine.
- "Not really creepy, though."- Spencer added.- "And Halloween is the night to be creepy."
- "You are creepy all year long."- Morgan's snarky comment was ignored when Garcia walked over with drinks for everybody. JJ and Will were dressed as Harley Quinn and The Joker, Rossi was dressed as Dracula, Hotch was Neo, from Matrix, Emily was Mia Wallace from Pulp Fiction, and Garcia was Tiffany, Chucky's girlfriend. Sergio, her cat, was walking around the apartment in a tiny Chucky costume.
If you asked Spencer, he was sure he had a chance to win the competition that year. If only he could focus on it. But with (Y/N) dressed as his character's bride, dancing with Em and JJ, he had trouble thinking clearly.
- "Ok, loverboy. How did you manage to keep it in the dark about this?"- Derek asked Spencer after an hour or so into the celebration. Reid was standing next to a table, holding a drink and staring at (Y/N) dancing, not even being subtle.
- "About what?"
- "You two are clearly together. When did that happen?"
- "What? No... we... I am... she doesn't. We aren't.... no!"- he tried to explain and failed in the process. Derek raised an eyebrow staring at him, and Reid made his best effort to explain his mind. - "We didn't plan this, it just happened. I had no idea she was gonna show up dressed as Lydia."
- "Kid, you don't have to lie anymore. I'm glad things worked your way."
- "We are not together. She doesn't... we haven't. It.. it's not gonna happen, Ever!"- Spencer wanted to storm out, but he stayed still. Instead of leaving, he turned around and looked at the table, avoiding eye contact with anyone in the room. Morgan walked a step closer and stood next to his friend.
- "You didn't plan this? You are not dating?"- and Reid just shook his head,- "And what are you waiting for?"
- "It's not gonna work."
- "Of course it won't. Not if you have a lousy attitude. She loves you, stop being a coward and kiss her."
- "Easy for you to say, no girl has ever rejected you."
- "Come on, kid. Stop feeling sorry for yourself. As far as I know, she likes you too. Now go there and ask her to dance."- before Spencer could argue, Morgan walked away. And the young doctor stood there, staring at the guacamole bowl, not able to move.
- "What caught your eyes?"- (Y/N)'s voice nearly gave him a heart attack. She just stood next to him with a big smile and stared at the food on the table.- "Hungry?"
- "I'm... I'm... the cheese board looks great."- he mumbled and mentally facepalmed himself for making such a stupid comment.
- "It does! Garcia has really outdone herself this year. And last year was already pretty awesome."- Spencer didn't reply, he just stared at the food, avoiding eye contact, in a desperate attempt to keep his brain working. But (Y/N) just sighed, and after a few seconds of silence, she just walked away. Reid closed his eyes and bit his lips.
- "Well done, asshole. You really know how to look like a jerk."- he argued with himself.
- "Everybody! Get together! we are gonna vote for this year's best costume!"- Penelope clapped a few times and stood in front of the group, next to the altar with pictures of their loved ones.
- "As every year, we'll choose the winner with our clap-o-meter"- which they didn't really have, but the costume with the louder reaction from the team was the winner.
- "First we have the Joker and Harley Quinn."- JJ and Will walked to the front and the entire room started clapping.
- "Then we have Aladdin and Jasmine."- Morgan held Savannah's hand and walked in front of their friends. Everybody clapped as Savannah did a little dance and Morgan rubbed a golden lamp. Spencer looked at (Y/N), she was clapping and smiling, looking as happy as ever.
- "Next one, Beetlejuice and Ly..."
- "No!"- Spencer interrupted Garcia, raising his arm.- "We didn't come together as a couple."- and as soon as he delivered those words, Spencer turned and looked at (Y/N). Her smile was long gone from her face. Instead, she stared at him in shock. She was hurt, she was embarrassed. And most of all, she was storming out of the apartment.
- "Shit!"- Spencer whispered as she quickly followed her, as all their friends stared at them in silence. They were all thinking pretty much the same: he had fucked it up and he better fixed it.
- "(Y/N) wait!"- Spencer ran after her and held her arm before she reached the stairs.-
- "No, Spencer! I'm done! I know you hate me, but you don't have to be so mean! I thought we could work together and be civil, but clearly, you don't stand me! So, please! let me go home so you can enjoy your evening at peace."
Spencer stared at her in shock. That's what he had accomplished. That she thought he hated her. And all because he didn't know how to act around her anymore.
- "(Y/N), no. I don't hate you."
- "Don't lie! You are just gonna make it worse. I know you hate me, you never talk to me, you walk away whenever I show up, and clearly, you don't wanna participate in a silly costume competition with me!"- (Y/N) pulled her arm from Spencer's hand and started walking down the stairs. But before she could go too far, Spencer held her hand and stopped her.
- "I don't hate you, I fucking love you! I have no idea how to act when you are around! I can't even speak when you are looking at me!"- he blurted out, not even thinking. (Y/N) stared at him, frowning. None of them said a word for a few seconds until she managed to whisper.
- "What?"
- "I... love... I love you."- Spencer repeated, in a softer voice. (Y/N) took a step closer and tried to read his face, looking for any sign of deceit. But there wasn't. Instead, he stared at her in adoration, waiting to see if his words had had any kind of effect on her.
- "You do?"- she asked, and Spencer blinked, nodding- "'Cos I love you too. So much."- she whispered, blushing.
- "You... do?"- Spencer nearly choked with the words. (Y/N) nodded and smiled, as the two of them fell silent one more time
- "Now kiss the girl, damn it!!"- Rossi yelled from inside the apartment, making them giggle. Spencer held (Y/N)'s hand and moved closer to her, staring right at her lips. She smiled in anticipation and nearly had a heart attack when she felt Spencer's lips on hers, kissing her so slowly, carefully, and sweetly, like she was made of crystal.
After a few seconds, they moved apart from each other and simply smiled, still in disbelief.
- "Do you... wanna go back inside?"- (Y/N) whispered, and pointed to Garcia's apartment.
- "Or... would you like to go out on a date?"- Spencer suggested, and her eyes shone in excitement.
- "A date on Halloween sounds like the best plan ever. But I thought this year you wanted to win the costume contest."
- "A date with you is the best prize ever."- Spencer replied and held her hand, leading the way downstairs.

“Hey this is Y/N, sorry I can’t come to the phone right now. Please leave a message and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible. Bye!”
The Hard Deck was a bustling place for a Friday night. The local retirees who lived on base usually came out for an early dinner followed by a drink or two. Sailors who were docked at port wanting to get a jumpstart on their weekend, before they got back underway. And the TopGun recruits, who knew that for the next ten weeks they needed to have the utmost focus and eliminate all distractions, spending their last night of freedom at the homey bar that the Navy liked to call home.
Jake had gotten to the Hard Deck before any of his crew did. He didn’t even bother to change out of his khakis, wanting that first sip of cool amber liquid to soothe the ache in his head he’s had all day. Ever since the accident, he hadn’t totally been himself. The doctor had said it was a concussion, giving him a short-term profile before sending him back up to the sky. But others, mainly Phoenix and Bradley, were convinced that they had missed something. They knew that concussions can have serious side effects, but they didn’t know that they could totally change a person they once knew.
“Seresin,” Phoenix greeted, wearing a pair of ripped jeans and a tank top, “Didn’t want to change?”
“Nope,” Jake shook his head, downing the shot of clear liquid in his hand. He grimaced at the burning sensation, “Didn’t want to go home.”
Phoenix nodded her head, counting the glasses in front of him, “Going a little heavy already?”
“Are you my fucking mom?”
“Don’t be a dick, Bagman,” Bradley chimed in, stepping up behind Phoenix, “It’s not even five yet and you’re halfway through a bottle of tequila.”
“My fucking god,” Jake groaned, “This is why I don’t go home. All you two do and Y/N is fucking nag me.”
Bradley and Phoenix both shared a look, their hearts plummeting in their chests. Bradley lightly nudged Phoenix, telling her that it was her turn to remind him. Last time Bradley had done it, it resulted in a black eye and a busted lip.
“Jake,” Phoenix started, placing her hand on his arm as he leaned against the bar, “Y/N is gone, remember?”
Jake blinked for a second, trying to recollect the memories that had been lost. That was another thing from the accident Jake had acquired, memory lost. Sometimes it was a good thing, he didn’t remember the last fight he had with her, or the first time he ever saw his dad hit his mom, or even attending the funeral for his best friend. But other times it was a bad thing, such as not remembering that he had attended her funeral.
“Oh,” He swallowed, nodding his head, “Yeah I remember. I mean, she used to nag me about it.”
Neither Bradley or Natasha said anything for the rest of the night, opting to just keep an eye on Jake and slip his keys from his back pocket. It was hard watching someone you love fall apart right in front of you. It was even harder when they didn’t remember why they were falling apart.
The accident happened so fast. Jake had only been back on land for a couple of days, after a long trip underway. Y/N had made plans for the two of them to spend the day together, getting pampered and then surprising Jake to a fancy steak dinner at one of San Diego’s top spots. Jake would never admit it outloud, but he was a sucker for a good massage and pedicure after months of sleeping on a cardboard thin twin mattress in the middle of the ocean. But while Y/N thought she was going to be surprising Jake, he was actually going to be surprising her. The ring box in his suit pocket was burning a hole while hanging up in the backseat of his truck.
“I really, really like that girl that Bradley has been seeing,” Y/N chatted mindlessly as they drove to the restaurant, “Oh turn left at the light.”
“Baby, why can’t you just put the directions on the screen,” Jake chuckled.
“Cause that would be cheating. It’s a surprise,” Y/N rolled her eyes, “Anyway, back to the girl Bradley is seeing. We hung out a lot while you guys were gone and she’s super cool. I feel like he’d be dumb to not tie this one down.”
“You and I both know Bradley Bradshaw isn’t going to tie anyone down,” Jake said, turning the direction she wanted him to.
“You two have something in common then,” Y/N poked and Jake shot her a look. After five years together, he knew that she was jumping at the bit to get engaged, and he was too. He just wanted everything to be perfect.
“I don’t plan on living with a roommate until late in my forties like Bradshaw.”
“Hey, you’re 35, basically already- Jake!”
Jake gasped as he slammed on the break, and felt his body jolt forward. The sound of smashing metal and breaking glass was loud. The deploying of the airbags were like a bomb going off in his ears as he felt the force breaking his nose. The silence though, the silence was the loudest thing as the car came to a halt after being hit. The scent of copper filled the air, Jake’s head pounding as he turned to look towards his passenger seat.
“Baby,” Jake cried out. Blood was gushing from a cut on her forehead, and her shiny hair was matted and stained. Jake reached a shaky hand out, pressing his fingers to her neck, feeling for a pulse, “No, no, no,” He sobbed, “Help me! Call 9-1-1! Please!”
He could hear the commotion from outside the car, the distant sound of sirens getting closer to them. He could hear chatter and someone yelling if everyone was okay. But all Jake could do was stare at her. Despite the blood and the sprinkle of glass in her hair, she looked peaceful, as if she had just fallen asleep. Jake kissed his fingertips, before placing them against her lips.
“I love you,” He whispered, tears falling down his face and blurring his vision, “I want you to marry me, baby. I want you to marry me,” He was gasping for breath through his sobs, as he gently closed the eyes he loved to look into. But there was something about those lifeless orbs looking back at him, that he knew was going to haunt him forever.
— — —
“Bagman!” Bradley yelled, snapping Jake out of his thoughts, “You alright?”
“Y-yeah,” Jake nodded his head, “Need some air.”
Bradley nodded, not totally believing Jake. Ever since the accident, Jake hadn’t been one hundred percent the same. Sure, he had returned to flying. He got a clean bill of health from both his doctor and his shrink (something that Maverick made him go through). He had cleaned out his house, packing up all of Y/N’s things and returning them to her mother. It had been months since the funeral, and Jake had felt like he had gone through all of the stages of grief.
It was just the lapses in memory that had him screwed up. And led him to picking up the bottle.
Once Jake was outside the Hard Deck, a fresh glass of beer in his hand, he pulled out his phone, going to the familiar messages that had all gone unread.
‘Jake: I’m not sure where you are, but can you let me know you are okay?’
‘Jake: sometimes i forget that you aren’t coming home’
‘Jake: i miss you’
‘Jake: Penny kicked me out of the hard deck tonight. Can you believe it?’
‘Jake: i really really need you tonight’
‘Jake: i got invited to bradley’s stupid fucking engagement party. I guess you were right’
‘Jake: Where are you at?’
Jake sighed as he started typing another text towards her number. He knew that Y/N’s mother had her phone, and how pathetic it was to keep texting her number. Even sometimes he went as far as calling her, when he was too worried about where she was and really couldn’t figure out why she wasn’t home, the calls always went to voicemail. But when Jake couldn’t remember what happened, and was wondering where Y/N was, the text thread was a gentle reminder that she wasn’t coming home. That she was buried, five miles away, in a grave that still hadn’t had a headstone yet.
‘Jake: Bradley decided to get married on our anniversary. I told him to fuck off, that that’s our day’
Jake placed his phone down next to him, picking up his glass and taking a hearty sip.

I don't have a good way to list these, so here's some Sally Face head canons I have with no intentional connections. Also, it's not all scientifically sound since it's based on a videogame about ghosts.
Sal
Sal's mask is partially for holding/mimicking the shape of his eye socket to cradle his glass eye correctly. His doctors did a good job at reconstructing his skull, but his age added some difficulties.
Sal has partial dentures
Gremlins is his comfort movie
The tear duct near his glass eye isn't functional, so he can only cry out of one eye
He has the neatest handwriting of the group
He pulls at his hair when he's anxious
He regularly has to get new hairbands since Gizmo likes to play with them.
Larry
Keanu Reeves is his celebrity crush, and only Ash, Sal, and Todd know
He has a bad knee after falling out of his treehouse a few years before Sal moved in
His wallet is usually empty, but he thinks the chain is cool so he wears it anyway
Sal used to tease him for how much he'd watch Robert when he moved in their senior year. He thought Rob was insanely cool and had no guts to talk to him about music until Sal introduced them
His favorite videogame franchise is Zelda and he's played all the mainline games, renting them to play before he buys any.
He knows a little bit of guitar and bass but doesn't have his own and knows it's best not to borrow Sal's too often
Ash
After episode 5, Ash suffers partial hearing loss in her left ear from the lightning
The "power arm" isn't a constant thing and only glows when it's in its powered state, usually just leaving her arm heavily scarred
She enjoys handy crafts, like sewing, and makes "little dudes" out of old laundry and frabic scraps.
She purchased Sal and Larry their own helmets when she started riding her bike most places (unfortunately, Sal was the only one who got to try his helmet, and only the one time)
Ash doesn't believe in them, but she enjoys using tarot cards and used to do it for the others. Chug seems to believe in them, but the rest are skeptical and/or just enjoy the prospect of it.
Todd
He procrastinates getting ready in the morning. During highschool, this translated to waiting until the last 5 minutes before he had to leave to get dressed.
He used to dislike coffee, but Neil made him some, and he discovered it was just the fact his parents drank instant.
Despite the similar look, his glasses between The Bologna Incident and The Trial are not the same pair. He lost the first pair while in the sub basement of Addison and had to get a new pair.
He regularly falls asleep at his desk. It is not intentional, but he does.
He's the main driver of their friend group, since Ash left Nockfell, Sal prefers not to drive, and Larry got his license suspended.
His vehicle is a white van that is a decommissioned news truck. He mostly got it to cannibalize parts from the broadcasting equipment but thinks it's cool regardless.

I Love You
Tumblr media
[pairings]: Tara Carpenter x Fem!Reader
[Summary]: After all the hell you've been through, you find peace in a certain brunette who has turned your life life upside down
[warnings]: Kissing, making out, swearing, Scream VI spoilers (not much)
------------------------------------------------------------------
12 years ago your 7 year old self would never have believed you if you said that you were here. In New York, in college and having a beautiful girlfriend. But how would she? When 12 years ago was the day it all changed. That day or night when you could’ve just turned around and went back to the Sheldons’ place to that boring birthday party. But instead, you went home and almost got butchered by your sister’s best friend. Of course it wasn’t planned for you to come home and all, but they still needed to go on with their plan so they tried to finish it all up.
Although you weren’t dead for even a second-unlike your sister- it sure felt like it. The pain that you felt that day. 7 stab wounds and a bullet in the leg. The doctors said it was a miracle. But for you it wasn’t, couldn't really walk for a month and the kids at school made fun of your scars whenever you were changing for PE.  It was a curse and for a long time you wished it had gone a different way, but eventually you got home-schooled and then went to college in New York.
You never kept in touch with anyone from Woodsboro. Well expect Kirby, your sister but that was kind of impossible. You and Kirby’s parents gave you lots of money whenever they went on a business trip. You never really needed anything then some food and clothes so there was a lot of money left in your bank account. You eventually got bored in your shared dorm at campus so you bought an apartment. Maybe it was a little too big for just one person, but you went with it anyway.
Then, you met Tara Carpenter. Obviously you knew what had happened the year prior and all, but you could care less. You guys started dating after her being in NYC for 4 months. Which means that, you had to deal with another killing spree, only this time you were able to protect yourself. Even though with multiple bleeding wounds, you made it out alive. Kirby and you were always close, but because of her job you guys rarely talked.
After that you and Tara got closer and her friends and sister still didn’t know about you two. You understood completely as to why. Her friends were obviously protective over her, and not to say her sister.  Kirby was like that too.
A couple months later you were still together and still a secret. Neither of you really cared anymore, but somehow the group still didn’t know.
You were walking towards one of the classrooms in the hallway when a strong grip appeared on your arm and you quickly spun around to see your girlfriend smiling cheekily at you. “ Hi, Y/N “
“Hi Tara. Aren’t you supposed to be in class? “ You asked and raised an eyebrow at her. She rolled her eyes and slowly shook her head.
“Nope. Last class got dismissed. “ You nodded and started walking again. This time Tara by your side, her hand sneakily found yours and intertwined your fingers.
“ Well, I happen to have one so… “ Trailing off, you looked at her and smirked slightly.
“Ugh, I don't care. You are coming with me. “ As she finished her sentence, she gripped your hand tighter and started running down the hall until she found an empty classroom and pushed you inside.
“ whoa, what are you-” You tried to say, but were immediately shut up by the pair of soft lips on yours. You closed your eyes after a couple seconds and put your hands on Tara’s cheeks, pulling her closer to you. You were soon backed into a desk as the kiss got more and more heated. Your senses were lost and the only thing you could feel was her. Only thing you could taste. Her hands gripped your shirt tightly in her hands on your sides as she pushed her tongue inside your mouth and the battle for dominance was soon started. As soon as she had won, she bent her head down to your neck and started leaving dark hickeys on it.
You groaned and your head fell back, giving her more access. She wanted to kiss you everywhere. So she simply started by your jaw then slowly went lower and lower. When she got to your sweet spot your hands went up into her hair and gripped it.
But the moment was soon ruined by the door slamming open to reveal Chad, Mindy and Anika (let's pretend she is alive). You and Tara jumped apart and they slowly took in your appearances. Messy hair, messy clothes, red lips and the marks on your neck.
“ I fucking knew it! “ Mindy shouted as she started dancing around. Chad huffed and gave each of them 5 bucks.
“Wait, did you bet on us? “ Asked Tara.
“ Oh hell yeah we did! And me and Anika won. Ha! The gaydar never lies. “ Anika chuckles at her girlfriends’ goofiness and puts a hand on her back to calm her excitement.
You just stood there, cheeks red as a tomato, looking at them. When you came back to reality, you spoke up. “ Wait. Are you guys going to tell Sam?! Oh god I am  already dead. “ You looked at each of them with fear.
“Well, we weren’t going to, but now that you mention it, I think we should.” Mindy smirked as she looked at her twin and girlfriend.
“Oh come on ! “ Tara shouted in annoyance.
“Unless….maybe, we could have a deal. Hm? “ Mindy walked towards you with crossed arms as she glanced at Tara then back at you.
Chad and Anika looked at each other, confused. “ Of course. Anything. I’ll do anything! “ Mindy laughed at your pleading, but her smile quickly faded as her face turned serious.
“ Each of us gets a ticket to the concert this weekend. “ She raises her eyebrow, waiting for your answer.
“Lady Gaga’s concert? But almost all the tickets are sold for that! “ The others watched the scene happening before them. Tara, of course, didn’t like that Mindy was taking advantage of your money and fear, but she still found it amusing.
Mindy hummed and shrugged her shoulders. “ Well I guess you’ll have to figure something out. “ With that she turned around and went back to Chad and Anika with a smile of victory on her lips. Anika jumped in excitement and kissed her.
You sighed and went over to Tara to bury your face into her neck. She chuckled and patted your head. Chad stood in the doorway and looked around him.
“ God damn it! I’m so single, bitch. “ You all laughed as you took Tara’s hand into yours and started walking out of the classroom.
-
Well, eventually you did buy 6 five tickets for the Lady Gaga concert-deciding to invite Sam too- . And a couple days later, you were standing in the big crowd of the concert. Dancing, singing and occasionally kissing Tara- (Sam was with the others in-front of you)
You watched as Chad picked up Mindy and cheered in-front of you and Tara. Smiling, you looked down at your girlfriend to see her already looking at you. You bit your bottom lip as your eyes traveled between her beautiful chocolate brown eyes and her delicious, looking red lips. Her eyes doing the same. She smiled at you and you smiled back, and at that moment, you decided that you would be by her side whenever and you knew that she would do the same.
You slowly leaned down and connected your lips. You sighed into the kiss as you took your hands up on her shoulders. The sweet sound of the music slowly fading away as you guys kissed. After you two ran out of oxygen you had to pull away, slightly panting. You placed your forehead onto hers and whispered. “ I Love You “
Tara looked at you and smiled. “ I Love You Too. “ You pulled back and for a minute you admired her in the flashing lights then looked back at the stage and started singing and jumping, Tara joining soon.
Maybe you were young and this wasn’t something that would last  for a lifetime. But regardless, you hoped it would. Because you knew that life is easier with her and that she is the reason you get up everyday. She kept you alive.

"The nighttime brings promises I can't keep
Givin' in is the one thing that I don't need
Got ahead of myself, gotta retrace my steps'
Cause I lost me the moment I took a piece of you
And you may never believe, but I'm sorry
I never meant for it to go this way (this way)
Only wanted the best and I'm stickin' to my story
This was a moment for me, and this was all it could be"
Destin Conrad & Alex Isley –"Same Mistake"
The state of mental disarray Celeste lived in would've broken the average woman. Having a feral pack of vampires follow her home brought on a fear so acute that she fled her cottage that same night and stayed with Mercy until the next morning.
She didn't tell her friend about the encounter, knowing she'd be packed off to a mental ward, or at least temporarily placed under observation at the hospital where Mercy worked as a nurse.
Mercy wasn't stupid.
She sensed immediately that Celeste's distress was beyond the made-up story about a burglar trying to break into her house. Crime happened a lot in the Easy, and any normal person would call the cops and bitch about soaring crime rates. Nothing would come of it, anyway. Outside of homicide, the NOLA police department wasn't known to haul ass for a B&E —breaking and entering. Mercy's suspicions were affirmed by the way Celeste acted, peeking out of the window every half hour like the time an old boyfriend before Freddie harassed her with stalking and drive-bys to her old apartment. All of her clique knew Terry left the city. She told them he had his job to get back to and things weren't going to pan out long distance. Mercy's lips poked out like she was itching to know if Terry was the problem and the reason for running off to her place in the middle of the night.
Celeste slept on the couch in Mercy's apartment and stayed indoors there while her friend left early for work. Daytime was a safe time. Isn't that what the vampire myths claimed it to be? She stared at the old bite wounds on her neck, thigh, and breasts. How could she be so blind to what they were? Terry had her so twisted up in the fog of lust that she glossed over proof that bloodsuckers were fucking real.
She groaned and closed her eyes. Terry manipulated her trust to feed from her.
New Orleans was the popular gothic home of vampire lore in the south. Countless books, movies, TV shows and the like centered it as the breeding ground for supernatural creatures. People made stories about monsters to scare children into being obedient. Bloody Mary. The Boo Hag. Zombies. Shit, even Voodoo still gave folks around those parts the heebie-jeebies even though white people turned it into a commercial joke. They sold Voodoo donuts, Voodoo dolls, and even ran up and down the French Quarter pretending to be Voodoo Witch Doctors giving graveyard tours to visit Madame Marie Laveau.
Like her ancestors before her, Celeste knew Vodun was real. Hoodoo was real. African retentions stayed rooted in the diaspora, and New Orleans was the most African city in America, witnessing unspeakable horrors done to Black people. White people were monsters bringing them to southern American shores. Surely their monstrosity enabled wickedness to flourish on southern soil and everywhere else. Her people danced at carnival, dressed as skeletons, and masked to hide their true selves. What better city to feed in than one that openly courted secrecy, excess, and spooky vibes? If people disappeared or turned up dead, the law and society could blame it on American's natural inclination to be violent with one another…not anything supernatural.
Vampires walked among them.
She swiped the cracked screen of her smartphone, looking up old wives' tales about Terry's kind. None of them supported anything he would be averse to. He had a reflection in the mirror. Crosses didn't bother him. He shook a priest's hand and didn't freak out. Never even flinched when she wore her gold cross necklace. She fed him garlic in the shrimp she cooked. The only things that tripped her up was that he walked around in the daytime, and she never saw him with fangs. Obviously, his teeth were sharp enough to break her skin, but regular human teeth could do that.
Maybe he was a familiar.
Dracula had Renfield. Maybe Terry was The Deacon's Renfield, luring people to their doom.
Celeste rubbed her scalp and swallowed down the anger festering in her chest. She'd made a mistake trusting Terry. She let a pretty boy's face and five-star Michelin dick trick her into submission of diabolical evil. The only saving grace was Terry's absence from her life, and whatever else ran around the Easy that scared the vampires away. She heard them say Old Ones. Perhaps that's what landed on her roof, causing the bloodsuckers to flee. Whatever it was, it didn't harm her, so she had one less monster to worry about.
As long as she stayed active during the day and locked herself in for the night, the vampires couldn't touch her. Had they wanted her dead or sucked dry, they would've done it days ago when she came home from work at night. They seduced people easily. Moved fast. It wouldn't take much to kill her on a dark street. They wanted her alive for a reason: to get Terry.
She texted Mercy and told her she felt better about going home. Made up a story about getting a burglar alarm. While driving to her small neighborhood in Marigny, she kept her neck on swivel to check for suspicious activity. She spent the rest of her time sleeping. She was so tired lately. Fatigue came easy.
Come nightfall, she turned all the lights on in the house and carried a sharp meat-carving knife on her. In her bedroom, she watched the news on her laptop, feeling drowsy. She typed in the words Shelby Springs into the Google search bar and tried to figure out where Terry came from. He claimed that he lived not too far from the place where his cousin was murdered. Three other parishes surrounded Shelby Springs. Typing Terry's name in the search engine brought up pictures of other Terry Richmonds, all white and mostly old.
Going another route, Celeste typed in the name Michael Simmons with Shelby Springs, and a slew of articles filled her screen. She read about a corrupt police force and an attempted coverup. Not one article mentioned Terry's name. Stranger still, four of the officers involved in the corruption scandal had disappeared months after being charged to stand trial. The only members of the force still around happened to be a Black woman who was set to testify against her fellow officers. She quit the force and refused to comment on any of the charges with the media. Celeste wrote her name down: Officer Jessica Sims. A second officer, who had been shot by his own Police Chief, made a move across the country to work at another police force.
If Terry went to help his cousin, surely Officer Sims would have information about his address, or at least the name of the parish he came from. Celeste stared at the screen. Officer Sims' round face looked haunted by something.
Another thought occurred to her, and she grabbed her cell phone. She called her cousin Butchie, who was friends with Travis.
"Butchie, can you text me Travis's number? I need to ask him something."
"About?" Butchie drawled on the other end.
"None of your business."
Butchie sucked his teeth and twenty seconds later, Travis X's number appeared on her screen. She typed it in fast, hitting the send button.
"Who dis?"
"Is that how you answer your phone? It's me, Duchess."
"Sister Celeste? What's going on?"
"Can you tell me, or ask your brother, where Terry lives?"
"Who?"
"Terry. Terry Richmond."
"Who dat?"
"Whatchu mean who dat? Your friend you brought to the Indian practice last month…your brother Scubbie's marine buddy. The one with the green eyes."
"Scubbie was never in the marines and I didn't bring anybody to the bar with green eyes. Have you been smoking that funny herb?"
"He came with you outside when you lit up my cigarette. The pretty boy."
Travis stayed silent.
"Never mind. Sorry to bother you. I thought maybe you knew him. Goodnight."
Celeste tapped her cell phone against her thigh. Terry used Travis to get next to her. He probably induced some type of hypnotic state like those vampires tried to do at her house… Jedi mind-tricked Travis into letting him hang with them. Once he was no longer needed, the memory of Terry faded from his mind.
She shut off the laptop and curled into a ball with the knife in front of her face. Resting her fingers on the handle, she made plans to visit Shelby Springs the next time she had another two consecutive days off.
Tumblr media
Celeste drank a red bull to perk herself up for work at the elder care facility. The new client who moved into Miss Irma's old room was a cranky white man who never seemed satisfied with his care there. He often complained that his room was cold and drafty.
"There's no draft and your room faces the garden, the sunniest and warmest part of the building," Celeste said, helping Mr. Crawley with the door so he could move with his walker better to get inside his room.
"I'm telling you people I have a draft in my room and it's too cold, even when I turn up the heat. I pay too much money for this place not to have controlled temperatures," Crawley said.
"May I suggest wearing one of your nice sweaters?" she said.
Celeste grit her teeth, listening to Crawley go off, but she assisted him and nodded her head as his list of complaints grew. She helped him sit at the desk near the window where he wanted to write letters and his autobiography. He probably complained about his life there, too.
"You feel that?" he said.
Crawley held his hand out toward the closed window where sunlight created a square of light on the teal carpet. He grabbed her hand and forced it into the light.
"See?" he said, his pale blue eyes pleading with her to pay attention.
She stood with her fingers splayed out, dust motes floating in the bright light. Where warmth should've been, there was only a cold spot. She moved her hand in different areas around the window and there was definitely an icy chill that shouldn't have been there. Glancing up at the air conditioner vent, she didn't hear it working at that moment. Only the fan whirred, giving a pleasant circulation of air.
"I feel the cold air, Mr. Crawley. I don't know what I can do about it. Is it bothering you?"
"If it stayed in that one spot it wouldn't be a problem." He leaned in conspiratorially, and she moved closer to him. "But it moves around."
"Moves around?"
Crawley's tone of voice lowered, and he genuinely looked agitated by Celeste's facial expression.
"The cold moves around in here," he said.
She glanced at the window and reached her hand into the suspect area. The sun warmed her hand up. The cold spot was gone.
"See? I told you. Now it's all warm and normal again, isn't it?"
"Yeah."
Celeste retrieved a sweater from the hook on the door and placed it on the back of Crawley's seat.
"I'll be back to take you to lunch," Celeste said.
She left the room and worked without incident until she walked down the hallway carrying a bag of collected trash and passed near Crawley's room. A large, cold spot sat in front of his door. The chill startled Celeste. The air in the building had slightly warmed up, but not enough to need the air-conditioning blasting more than it was. She walked through an icy gust and gasped at the sudden drop in temperature. Crawley's door was open. He furiously scribbled at his desk. Celeste moved back and forth between coolness and frigid air. Out of the corner of her eye, she glimpsed someone walking toward the employee break room.
Miss Irma.
Celeste stood cemented to the floor, and Miss Irma turned a corner and glanced back at her. A male co-worker pushed a cart of meds down the hall and stared at Celeste's confused face.
"You alright, Celeste?"
"Did you see someone walk past you?"
"Just now?"
"Yes."
"Nope."
She didn't want to walk down the hall. Ignoring a dead woman should've been easy, but Celeste moved along the corridor close to the wall. When she reached the corner, she prayed no one would be there.
"Oh thank God," she sighed, seeing another empty hallway.
She left the building out of the side door to throw away the trash in the dumpster outside. A supervisor named Diane met her back inside the break room. Diane snacked on a bag of chips and a bottle of coke.
"Celeste, can you get in touch with Terry Richmond? He hasn't returned my calls to collect his grandmother's personal effects," Diane said.
"I haven't spoken to him in a long time."
"Well…his grandmother has boxes in our storage room and I'd hate to throw it out. The clothes we can donate to Goodwill, but there are photo albums and books—"
"I'll take them to him. I get off at five."
"You will? That would be great. Do you have time now to get it and put it in your car? I can help you. Mr. Richmond was told that we can hold items for thirty-days and he said he would get them before he left the city. It's been past the deadline."
Celeste followed Diane to the large storage room, and in the back were four medium-sized boxes and two bags of clothes. They took two trips to her car, and she squeezed all the boxes in the back seat and the passenger side. She dumped the contents of an over-sized box into the trunk and folded it up to reuse later at her home.
"Thank you so much. This makes me feel so much better. There are photos and all kinds of irreplaceable things in them. I'd hate to see them dumped in the garbage," Diane said.
"No problem. I'll keep them at my house and he can pick them up the next time I see him."
Diane left her alone. Celeste grabbed her smokes from the glove compartment and took an extra break. She hid herself in the garden and sat on one of the wooden benches. Seeing Miss Irma unearthed troublesome emotions. She worried that her mind was teetering on the verge of mental collapse from the stress and fear. Seeing ghosts on top of vampires was too much. Puffing and fretting, Celeste closed her eyes. Feeling dizzy, she leaned forward, hanging her head between her legs. Goosebumps pricked her skin as the temperature dropped abruptly around her. She shivered in the direct blazing sunlight.
"It's the baby making you feel sick," an elderly female voice said.
Celeste kept her eyes closed and head low, too afraid to open them or move. Reeling, she prayed silently and hoped that she wouldn't pass out.
"Don't be afraid. You know I won't hurt you…I just have to talk to you."
Celeste opened her eyes and focused her attention on the grass beneath her feet. She looked slightly to her right and noticed a pair of feet encased in pretty yellow house slippers. Moving her gaze higher, she recognized the simple pink floral dress, and the pale wrinkled hands.
"I'm scared," Celeste said.
The hand of a dead woman pulled her up, and they looked at one another eye to eye on the bench.
"Is this real? Or am I losing my mind?" Celeste asked.
Miss Irma's eyes twinkled. She looked more alive and vibrant than her last days at the assisted living facility.
"Your mind is fine, baby. Just fine."
"You're really a ghost, then?"
"That indeed. May I?"
Miss Irma pointed to Celeste's stomach. Celeste sat back.
"You want to touch me?"
"Yes."
"Okay."
Miss Irma rested her soft hand on Celeste's belly. The warmth she exuded seemed so real. Ghosts were supposed to be smoky and floaty. Miss Irma sat next to her like the most solid and alive person on the planet.
"Well, now…Papa didn't waste no time," Miss Irma said.
"What are you talking about?"
"You are pregnant, child. It's still early, but you are about to become a mama for my great-granddaddy."
"That can't be true."
"Getting pregnant?"
"Terry being your great-granddaddy…he's not even…he's not…"
"You know it's true. I can see in your eyes you know his secret…what he is. On this side, they tell me that you've done the impossible, so now I must tell you something important…something I was too weak to say before I died."
Miss Irma cradled Celeste's hands, which shook so badly that the ghost had to clamp them down tight between her palms.
"You have my things. Look through them so you may know Papa's story. He was human once upon a time ago. I spent my long life documenting all I could for my grandson Michael, but he's gone and can't hold the secret for our family. Papa wanted me to tell his story. But my mind started fading and I couldn't finish my work. Now you have become my family, Celeste. There are beings in the world who mean Papa harm… and your baby, too. They hide in plain sight in other places, but because Papa came back here, they might come for him."
"Other vampires?"
"Les Gargouilles…gargoyles. They will seek him out and kill him. Their kind are enemies to Papa. Enemies to that child if they find out about you carrying a vampire's baby."
"I've seen a few gargoyle statues in the Quarter that were never here before."
"Oh no, then it may be too late."
Miss Irma rose from her seat and looked off into the distance. She paced in front of Celeste.
"They're not active in the daytime, so you're safe, even when they hunt at night. I've tracked many during my lifetime taking pictures of them all over the world. They protect humans and won't harm you because you're a child of God. The baby will be safe until it's born and out of your body…oh no…oh no…"
Miss Irma looked at her hands. They began to disintegrate, starting at her fingertips.
"Celeste! He loves you…he—"
Miss Irma's body broke apart and floated away like the graying ash of a dying fire.
Too stunned to move, Celeste sat on the bench for the rest of her shift. She wandered away only when the sun went down. Climbing into her car, she thought of what to do with the information given to her. After an hour of sitting in her driver's seat, she drove herself to the drugstore and bought an early detection pregnancy kit.
At home, she tested herself twice.
She was positive both times.

The Past Is The Past
Tara Carpenter x Fem!Reader
Summary: Tara was faced with her 3 ghostface, and this time got so seriously injured she was in a coma. When she wakes up, she has no memory of the past 3 years...including you, her girlfriend.
Notes: Imagine this as our gals scream 7...since Jenna apparently quit and left me fucking DYING
Warnings: Uh, injury, violence, blood, our boy ghostyface with knives. Coma and memory loss if thats even a warning. Swearing. Uhm. Shitty 7th grade writing.
This may become a multi-part story. Not sure. If we hit 250 notes maybe I'll make it a series.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tara plopped down on the small couch, burnt out. She'd just been released from the hospital. She was home. At least, that's where she thinks she is. It didn't look much like the home she remembered.
Sam had taken her home, which was weird to begin with, because she hadn't seen Sam since they were kids.
She had a stab wound in her side. That too was weird. She had hundreds of scars littering her torso and one that seemingly went through her hand. That's a curious scar. She'll have to ask Sam about that one.
She knew she had lost her memory. The doctors had told her. Her last memory was from 2020. She has seen Sam's face. She'd been worried, definitely worried. But she looked almost..relieved? Like something had happened in the past 3 years that they all wanted to forget.
She had friends still. The same ones she'd had for years before. Mindy and Chad. They told her that Wes and Liv had moved away. They didn't mention Amber.
That was weird.
Amber is her best friend.
There's a new girl, too. Her name is Y/N. Tara has no memory of the girl, but weirdly enough, Y/N seemed the most hurt by Tara's memory loss. Maybe it was because they'd met during the lost time, and she was the only person that Tara didn't remember.
Y/N kept her distance from Tara, too. She never made eye-contact with her. Always stayed far away. Never even said her name out loud, always referring to her by nodding in her direction. They'd never had a one-on-one conversation, not in the many weeks she'd come to visit Tara.
Why was this girl, this girl Tara didn't even know, so weird around her?
She's quite pretty too, with her (Your hair color) hair, and those pretty (Color) eyes. She's a sweetheart, from what Tara's seen with her interactions with the others.
Maybe they had history. Bad history. The kind of history that makes people hate each other even after they apologize and make up. Maybe they were close, and she wasn't sure how to begin the relationship again.
Tara wasn't sure. And she wasn't about to ask, either. Everyone was so...touchy with the topic. They wouldn't even allow her to know where Wes and Liv had moved, or even their phone numbers. Amber's name was avoided like some sort of plague. Y/N might be here, solid and alive in front of her, but somehow, that seemed like an even more dangerous zone to travel into.
This whole memory loss thing was giving Tara a headache.
But she just had to know.
Who is Y/N?

Okay, new AU idea. This is gonna be a long one, so bear with me:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Our setting is a small village. Everyone knows each other and whatnot. They get along and are polite to each other, even if they wouldn't consider each other friends.
In this village, lived two wealthy families. The Asahinas and the Tenmas. However, one day the two senior Tenmas had to leave with their youngest. Her illness had gotten worse and word was that another village, one days away, had some of the best doctors who could help with her condition. Thus, they left, leaving behind their eldest, who decided to stay back in case either of his parents returned to get him or if he got a letter telling him to make the journey on his own.
Now, because of how close this village is, everyone knows Lady Asahina didn't like the Tenmas. She's spent years as the villaged wealthiest until they came along. She smiled politely and spoke courteously with them. She even allowed her only child to learn piano from Lady Tenma. When word got out that they were leaving, she thought they would be gone for good. But no, they had to leave the boy behind. And what does he do? Play piano and read stories? A waste if you ask her. Why bother with things like that when he could further his education? Find a nice young lady to court and marry? If he were more of a proper gentleman she'd push her daughter to marry him. The only reason she allows their friendship is because her husband already approved it in front of others. She'd be ostracized if she banned her daughter from seeing that boy.
Again, because of how close this village is, it's easy to see the animosity Lady Asahina has for the Tenma's. Tsukasa knows she wants nothing more than to get rid of his family. Mafuyu does as well. After all, it wouldn't be the first time she did.
The first were the Otori's, who left after a few years of living in the village, due to Lord Otori finding a bigger village for his family. Mafuyu remembered Emu, the bright and energetic girl, who had left in tears because her mother told her no one would ever love her if she kept acting like the fool she was. Last time she saw her, she was another girl and looking a lot happier. When she spoke with them, she learned the girl was Nene Kusanagi. She was a singer at a local theater and had met Emu a few days after she moved to her village. The two became friends and eventually girlfriends.
Then were the Hinomori's. Who left when their youngest got accepted into a knight training program in a kingdom further away. Shizuku was the first friend Mafuyu made and lost. Once she was gone, her mother told her it was for the best. After all, now with Shizuku gone, she'd have no competition in getting a suitor.
When she visited the Shiraishi Kingdom with her father, she saw Shizuku with a group of girls. All of them laughing and full of smiles. She wasn't going to say anything, thinking just seeing her old friend would be enough. But Shizuku saw her, left her group and pulled her over. There she was introduced to Shizuku's coven of "witches": Airi Momoi, Haruka Kiritani and their newest member, Minori Hanasato. When asked, Haruka explained they were all learning to be healers while also spreading hope to others via music. The "witches" was just for fun, and they had originally considered being "fairies."
The last one's were the Shinonome's. They had left shortly before the Tenma's arrived. Had lived in their village the shortest. Mafuyu had a rough relationship with Ena and Akito. She wasn't sure if she'd call them all friends. But their company was nice until her mother stepped in. She pushed and pushed, snide remark after snide remark, until Lord Shinonome snapped at her. It was one of the few times she's seen someone yell at her mother. One of the few times she's seen no one take her mother's side. She questioned a man over his marriage and right to raise children on his own. Mafuyu knew from Ena that Lord Shinonome wasn't the best father, but when she tried to visit them the next day, they were, having left some time in the night. She has yet to reunite with either of the two siblings and has no idea where they went to.
And now the Tenma's were gone. Or at least, 3 of them. Lord and Lady Tenma were alright. She didn't think much of them, as they were both busy people. Saki was almost always in bed, having been sick since she was very young. But the younger girl was so cheerful and would play piano alongside her brother almost daily. On the days she had extra strength, she'd leave her house and visit one of the other ladies houses. There she would spend time talking with other woman and learning new things. She was very beloved, so when the visits stopped abruptly, there was concern. Mafuyu would see her neighbors stop Tsukasa and ask after his sister. She'd see them knock on the Tenma's house and enter to help Lady Tenma.
And then the news came that the Tenma's were leaving. Their youngest needed medical help they, sadly, could not provide. They left, much like the Shinonome's, during the night. So, it was a shock to all of them to see Tsukasa was still around.
Not that anyone but her mother minded. The boy became very popular when he first arrived. He was loud and outgoing, but also so kind and gentle. He'd play piano for others and his loud voice meant everyone could hear him when he read or made-up stories for the children. Mafuyu remembers when her father told her he approved of her friendship with Tsukasa. He saw that she was happier with him. And he was glad someone could make her feel that way. And she was. She had a friend. But she was also hesitant to say they really are friends. After all, any she had and tried to make all left eventually. And it was never surprising that people around her would always say her mother had a hand in it, because she did.
It may not have been murder or threats, but she knew how to push people in a way that made them not want to be around. She'd say things so minor and unimportant, or speak on things none of her concern, but make a BIG deal out of them (Emu's behavior and Lord Shinonome's parental rights for example).
And as Mafuyu grew, she wished to leave herself. Her mother just got more and more overbearing. She gave her more chores to keep her home. Asked her to join her for tea at a neighbor's. Introduced her the sons of her colleagues, pushing her towards them. She made her take more etiquette classes. Dancing lessons. Equestrian training. And it was so obvious why.
The upside is that her mother can't control who the other women invite. One of the grandmothers in the village would often invite Tsukasa over for tea and he would play piano for her, much like her late son used to. A widowed mother with five children, two her own and three belonging to her long gone brother and sister-in-law, would invite him in the evening and he'd entertain the children while she made dinner. Her dance teacher liked inviting him because he didn't mind providing music or being someone's dance partner if someone was absent or injured.
It all got to be too much when her mother began drafting courting letters. She asked Mafuyu constantly, day by day, about each boy who could potentially be a good husband. She'd ask how her lessons were going. Did she want a need a new dress? Best get one either way, she has to look her best for her suitors. Really, she should brush her hair. What would her future husband think?
She wanted to leave. She wished her father would have taken her with him on his latest trip for work. But, would that just have meant she'd arrive to several suitors awaiting her?? Would she even have suitors waiting for her? Or would her mother have chosen her husband to be by the time they returned??
It was one of her rare days "off" when she confided in Tsukasa about what was happening. The letters, the extra chores and weapons, her fear of losing yet another friend, wanting to leave but being afraid to and not knowing how to do so without being caught.
And this is why she became friends with Tsukasa, he listened to her problems and told her to do it. Leave. Leave when her mother is either gone or asleep. He'd offer to go with her, but he said he'd wait in the village for his family or for a message from them. But if leaving was the thing she needed, she should leave. No one should prevent her happiness, not even her.
That night, while her mother is asleep, a deeper one thanks to the tea Mafuyu made for their evening dinner, she snuck out. She didn't take much with her. She had a letter for her father that she was going to give to Tsukasa. She didn't trust her mother to not tear it apart.
Just as she was about to knock on his door, it opened. Tsukasa looked at her and just smiled. He knew. She didn't know how, but he knew.
He moved to the side and let her in. They stood in silence for a while before Mafuyu handed him the letter. She asked him to give it to her father when he saw him. To not tell her mother or anyone else. She didn't want anyone else knowing why she ran.
And just as she's about to leave, he stops her and gives her a beautiful looking music box. A reminder of him. And a little extra protection. He'll miss her and promises to give her father her letter. With that, he closes the door behind her.
A little extra protection??
Mafuyu thinks nothing of it as she leaves. Quietly and slowly at first. And when she's far enough away, she runs. She runs and runs until she's certain she's far enough away. She isn't sure where she'd go or if she'd run into someone she knew along the way.
The downside to leaving in secrecy was she avoided lighting a lantern. The weather was also getting colder and colder every passing day. She couldn't see anything but her breath. She was cold despite wearing warm clothing. She jumped at every noise and fell because she was being so jumpy while temporarily blind. Her eyes widened when she heard a clink. The music box Tsukasa gave her fell out of her bag.
She's so stupid. She's so, so, stupid. Why did she think this was a good idea? Why didn't she just, light the lantern once the village was out of sight? God, why couldn't she have just, waited? Maybe Tsukasa would get his letter or one of his parents would return soon and she could have left with them. Sure, it meant hiding her letter to father with someone else, but...
She's so, alone and scared and cold. It's so cold. She puts the music box away in her bag again and starts to fumble with her lantern. She might as well light it now, right?
She stops when she hears more rustling. She can hear howling and crickets chirping.
A light breaks through the nearby forest and a group of people walk out. All dressed darkly with their faces hidden. She can't hide. The path she was on led into the forest. Behind her was her old village. These, criminals (?), blocked her path. Just as one of them moved towards her, she ran, crossing into one of the larger fields belonging to one of the men in the village.
She used the field to cut around the group and enter the forest. Her lantern now lit, but very dim as well. She was tired and wanted to stop, but they kept chasing her.
One of them did, eventually, catch up with her. They grabbed onto her and forced her to the ground, tossing her bag towards the others, her lantern broken besides them.
She was scared. She was scared and alone. She cried as the rest of the group emptied her bag. At first they just dug through it and dropped things on the floor. But then one of them decided to just, dump everything out.
She let's out a scream when she hears a loud shatter. Right in front of her, was the music box Tsukasa gifted her. Smashed into pieces.
God, what was she thinking? She should have just stayed in the village.
She closed her eyes and waited for whatever would happen next. Death? Kidnapping?
She felt the person holding her on to ground get off her. She could hear the others whispering before they screamed.
Did someone notice? Was there another traveler?
She opened her eyes and that's when she saw it.
Right where the broken music box once was, was a girl who looked ethereal. She was small and held a large scythe in her hands. Her eyes seemed empty, but when she looked at Mafuyu they were so warm and kind and loving. Her eyes then turned to group robbing her, turning cold and protective. She slams her scythe into the ground, causing the ground to shake. She tells the group to leave. Leave and take nothing. She had more power than they could believe, and when one of them scoffed, she used her scythe to turn a tree into ash. Not wanting to risk it, the group left, dragging some members with them.
Once they were gone, the girl walked over to where Mafuyu was still sitting on the floor. She held a hand out and gave her a gentle smile. She asked if she was okay now. Did she need anything?
Who...who was she? Where did she...
The music box...
The girl is named Kanade. She was created by Tsukasa years ago.
He asked her to protect his friend. To take care of her and help her find somewhere she'd be happy.
Oh...
A little extra protection.
Now for some additional information:
Magic is real!! Shizuku's coven of "witches" are actually witches. They just say they aren't.
While magic is real, not everyone has it, and those who do usually have an affinity for a certain type. For example, MMJ specialize in healing magic, while Tsukasa specializes in protective magic.
Magic users can use other types of magic, just to a lesser/smaller extent.
No one in their village knows Tsukasa has magic. Because it's protective, he does a lot of things in secret. It's why his parents and Saki had to leave. He tried, but he isn't a healer.
People who use magic go by different names, some call themselves mages, some go by wizards, some choose not to label themselves as anything. But they're all magic users, no real difference between them.
When Mafuyu told Tsukasa she was leaving, he knew chances were she'd leave at night, hence him staying up to give her Kanade.
Kanade's feelings for Mafuyu are heavily based off those Tsukasa had. She does, eventually, begin to grow her own feelings for the girl she's protecting.
Mafuyu's mom was definitely a reason why people left the village. Most people only invite her because she'd cry about it if they didn't.
Mrs. Asahina's beef with the Tenma's also comes from the fact they aren't generational wealth. They became rich. Tsukasa still wears his old clothes rather than get new, tailored, clothing.
Whenever she asks, he tells her he has no interest in that. Why would he want a spouse who's first concern is what his clothes are made out of? He wasn't going to marry anyone who was only interested in his family's wealth. They had to like him.
Mrs. Asahina's comment towards Emu was specifically about the younger's dream to become an adventurer like her late grandfather. She thought Emu should stop playing around with foolish ideas and sign up for classes on how to be a proper lady. Told her that if he were around, her grandfather would be disappointed his granddaughter was acting like a fool, thinking she could play in dirt all day, every day. Emu left the village crying and wasn't herself until her sister took her a theater, which is where she met Nene.
The Shinonome's ended up separating when they left. Ena and Akito went one way and their father another. As much as it hurt to hear Mrs. Asahina say what she said, they knew she was right. And Ena was the one who ultimately decided she was leaving and taking Akito. If he wished to write to them, they would be in the Aoyagi Kingdom.
