“We’re here, we’ll update you if anything comes of it,” Morgan promises Hotch over the phone as we walk to the front porch of one of our witnesses. Something about his story is messed up and we were the unlucky ones who had to go talk to him. It’s a pretty house I guess, a little expensive for what a 26 year old man could afford, and what he would want to buy. It’s all fifties style, the entire estate is. Big-enough bungalows with pastel walls and inviting doors with a small porch, just enough for the entry-way and a chair. I knock on the door, exhausted from the past 72 hours. Aaron and I got in a fight before we got to Ohio, it was unnecessary, but we fought all the same. He was mad at me for giving Jack advice that led to a fight between them. I just wanted to kiss and make up 3 days ago but he won’t budge. Maybe it’s because he knows I’m right and doesn’t want to confront it or maybe it’s because I took it too far and overstepped. Jack calls me ‘mom’, I live with him, and Jack came to me for support, he wanted guidance and I gave him it. He was mad at his dad because he missed meeting his girlfriend. His girlfriend, Ava, was a lovely girl, I had been the one there when Jack brought her over for dinner, I was the one trying to suss out if they actually liked each other, and I was the one Jack sat down with for 2 hours after and told everything about her to. All because Aaron was too busy with paperwork in his study. Jack was hurt, which is difficult to do because he’s such an understanding 16 year-old boy. It was also hard because I saw both sides. I’ll be the first to admit that what Aaron did was wrong, but our job is hard and demanding, especially his since he’s the leader of our team… But Jack just wanted 2 hours of his time, not even, just a dinner. A dinner to meet his girlfriend, and Aaron still couldn’t make it.
I knock again as I huff.
“Everything alright?” Morgan asks, the regular playful glint in his eye.
“Tired, mad, over this job. You?” I sigh.
“Sounds about right,” He chuckles. “How’s Jack doing?”
A smile spreads across my face. “He has a girlfriend,” Morgan’s face lights up in a smile.
“My man,” He smirks and I chuckle. “You two met her yet?”
My face drops again. “I have, Aaron… couldn’t make it to the dinner though. She’s lovely, perfect for Jack. It's so funny, it’s just opposites attract. Jack is so sporty and outspoken and she’s one of the quieter, more into her studies kind of person.”
The door swings open and we’re met with David, our witness.
“You two know what time it is?” He yawns.
“Oh trust us, we know,” Morgan sighs. “Can we ask you a few more questions?”
“It’s 10pm at night? Can’t this wait ‘till the morning?”
“It’ll only take a few minutes,” I reassure.
He looks between us for a moment, then sighs. “Quickly.”
We walk inside and are immediately hit with an awful smell. I know that smell. That’s when I see it, a body.
And that’s when it all goes black.
I wake up in a new room, tied to a chair. I don’t see Derrick anywhere. I don’t see David anywhere. I’m all alone in this grey room. I don’t see a door but I notice a camera, and a screen in front of me. I see Penelope on the screen, then a sign above it with “Don’t make noise” scribbled. I look to my left and see a plastic window, I see Morgan through it, tied up too. He sees me.
“Y/n? Y/n?! Where are you?” Penelope squeals. I shake my head and she picks up her phone and tries calling mine, it rings and I feel something go into my side. I scream out in pain as I see the blood start trickling out of me. Penelope drops her phone, then picks it up, dialling someone else’s number.
I get switched to a joint call with Penelope, and the rest of the team, excluding Aaron.
“Y/n?” Spencer asks and I nod, sobbing in pain. Spencer runs off-screen, leaving Jj and Emily to stare in horror at me.
Spencer comes back with Aaron and we make eye-contact through the screen, and he starts breaking. He’s shouting orders at the policemen in the precinct, he’s shouting orders at the team, and he’s trying not to cry. I know that. I also know I’m the only one who knows that. He hides it pretty well but not from me, not after all of our years together. His eyes squint, his eyebrows furrow more than usual, he starts biting at the skin around his nails.
“We’re coming to find you. We will find you,” he promises me. I nod slowly as the pain in my side becomes unbearable as the knife is pulled out.
“Is Morgan with you?” Emily asks and I nod as I bite my lip until it bleeds to stop myself from making too much noise.
“Is he in the room with you?” Spencer asks.
I shake my head no. After what feels like an eternity of yes or no questions, they think they’ve located us.I hear banging on the door and then it opens. Spencer is standing there with an entire Swat team behind him. I shake my head to tell them to not make noise but they talk anyway and another knife is put into my leg, I don’t have the strength to stay quiet this time and another finds its way into my arm. I pass out.
I wake up in a hospital bed, an IV in my arm, Aaron on one side and Jack on the other. Aaron’s asleep in a chair on my left, I grimace, knowing his back will hurt.
“Mom?!” Jack exclaims as he sees me open my eyes. “Mom!” His eyes fill with tears as he gets up and wraps his arms around me on the bed.
“Jack,” I sigh in relief.
“You’re okay! You’re awake!” He smiles brightly, happy that I’m alive.
Aaron wakes up from the commotion and rushes to my side. “Honey?” He takes my hand and squeezes. “You’re okay.”
I smile at both of them.
“I’ll go get the doctor,” Jack smiles and he rushes off to find a doctor.
“Honey I’m so sorry I shouldn’t have-” He starts but I cut him off.
“I love you.”
“I love you too,” he sighs, tears welling up in his eyes.
“Don’t go all soft now Aaron,” I joke.
“You make me soft,” He smiles and presses a soft kiss to my cheek.
Jack comes back in with a doctor. She tells me that I lost a lot of blood and that I will be out of the field for a few months, with 2 weeks of mandatory bedrest, then 4 weeks of physical therapy.
The next day, the team come in to visit.
“Hey,” Spencer smiles, walking in first. I’ve always been close to Spencer, he’s always felt like a little brother to me.
“Hey,” I smile and wince when I hug him, but I know it’s worth it. The rest of the team filter in, smiles on their faces.“So what happened after I went out?”
“Well, they got me, no injuries apart from a concussion,” Morgan says.
“We got the guy-” Emily starts.
“Aaron got the guy,” Spencer interrupts. “He saw him and just shot him-”
“And then he beat the crap out of him,” Jj says. “It was pretty intense.”
I nod along as they tell me the story, and then we just talk about whatever until Aaron comes in and says visiting hours are over. Spencer leaves me a few more books to read and Jj brings Jack to Ava’s house for the night. Aaron walks in with my dinner on a tray.
“Hungry?” He smiles.
“You shot someone for me?” I ask as he places my tray down.
“Yes.”
I roll my eyes and smile at him. “Is he alive?”
“No.”
My face drops. “Oh.”
“It was the combined bleeding and head trauma that killed him.”
“You shouldn’t have done that.”
“I did.”
I look at my food. “I understand you wanted to protect me-”
“I did that because he doesn’t get to live after doing this to you. Honey, you and Jack are the most important people in my life and I would do anything if it meant that you were safe and sound. Do you want to know how it felt to have what could’ve been my last words to you be ‘stop bothering me’? I was an asshole to you over the Jack situation because I knew you were right. I knew it wasn’t fair to not go to dinner when I was in the house. I knew it was important and it just felt too real. It felt like he was growing up and I just couldn’t take it because I missed so much of his childhood! So I’m sorry, I’m so so sorry that I said everything I said and did what I did, but I am not sorry about hurting that fucking monster,” He takes a deep breath. “Now eat up, it’ll go cold.”
“I love you Aaron, it’s ok. It wasn’t your fault, being a parents is hard.”
His eyes fill with tears and he looks at me like an injured puppy.
“Come here,” I smile and move over, allowing room for him to sit with me. He climbs into bed beside me and wraps his arms around me, being careful of my wounds.
“I love you,” he whispers as I slowly eat my food.
“I love you too.”

Kidge winter event
Day 1: Ice skating
Every large city during the Christmas period begins to wake up from the cold and sad autumn, just as the yellow and orange leaves fade away, all the streets are filled with a warm atmosphere of joy and lights. In the evening the shop windows, streets and decorations light up while families, couples, teenagers and children stroll with packages in hand and smiles on their faces. New York was covered in snow, and everyone seemed so happy and carefree at the idea of celebrating the first Christmas after the end of the war. One couple in particular, however, were trying to keep a low profile, dodging other people and walking with some haste, and when they arrived at the closed gate of a public park, one took the large duffle bag off his shoulders and gave it to the figure smaller next to him.
“Keith, I swear to God if we end up in prison for any of your stupid shit that you didn't do in your teenage years I'm going to stop hanging out with you!” the girl growled, looking around to make sure they weren't seen.
“You sound so legal, but I'm not the one who illegally signed up to a military space base, Katie”: he sneered, climbing over the fence and landing on his feet on the other side. She tossed him the duffle bag, which fell to the ground with a silent clang on the snow.
“Yes, but that's not why Shiro invited us here…”: she grumbled, taking one last look around before climbing over and following him. Shiro, after declaring that he was engaged to Curtis, bought a large penthouse in the center of New York, which now housed all the paladins including Coran and Romelle. According to him it was a way to meet again and maintain the bond as long as possible after the departure of the lions.
“Okay, but honestly, what are we doing here?”: she asked, adjusting her scarf and shivering at the gust of wind.
"Ice-skating"
"Ice-skating?"
He nodded.
“But what if you don't even know how to skate?!”: she laughed.
“Indeed, but at least everyone will think that we went to the legal track, and not on a frozen lake…”: he smirked, holding her hand and dragging her through the light snow-covered bush up to a point where the snow left room for a flat ice field.
“You're smart, you know?”: Pidge smiled, looking him in the eyes: “You gave everyone a false lead so Lance and Romelle won't know where we are…”
“Do you see that sometimes I think?”: he smiled, sitting down on the snow and taking two pairs of ice skates out of his bag. As soon as they had them at their feet, she began to move to gain confidence by doing a few laps around the perimeter from the pond, while Keith remained sitting next to her watching her move with all that elegance.
“Are you going to stay here and watch me from behind all night or will you come here with me?”: she laughed, approaching slowly.
“The view from here is very beautiful…”: he smiled, standing up and trying to gain balance. As she had said he didn't know how to skate; How could he have learned in the middle of the desert? She helped him, pulling him up gently, then intertwining their fingers. Pidge continued to guide him, showing him how to bend his knees and move his feet. After years of war in which he was leader, Keith finally let himself be carried away by someone else's orders and advice.
When he was finally able to skate slowly without that attention, they remained with their hands clasped as they were transported by the cold mist into their immense solitude. She let out a gasp when he surprised her by whirling around almost knocking them both over, wrapping his arms around her hips as he pulled her into a passionate kiss.
There they were alone: just two hot bodies making fiery sparks, ready to explode. They were alone there. There they could just screw it all and show themselves for what they were. They had wasted too much time hiding their love from the whole world.
“You have no idea how long I've waited for this…”: she smiled, her cheeks and nose slightly pink from the cold.
“Me too…”: he replied, dragging her into another kiss. They remained there for many moments warming themselves with their bodies pressed next to each other's, exchanging fiery kisses. They were interrupted only by the sight of blue and red flashes shining in the night and reflecting off the ice and snow.
“I saw them climbing over here!”: they heard a man grumble: “It must be those usual thugs who deface the walls!”
“I think we have to run now…”: Keith whispered, taking her hand and letting her accompany him to the shore.
“I can't believe that if they reach us I'll end up in prison because of Keith Kogane!”: she snorted in amusement, quickly taking off her ice skates and putting her boots back on.
“Hey, you two!”: shouted a stout and chubby looking man in a uniform. They both laughed as they stood up, starting to run away.

Ok I have returned with a request for sjsm so here I go, could you do spooky who meets reader who is a ghost has been at the mansion long before the specimens made the mansion their home along with spooky
"Boo!! Did I scare you??"
"Ah...! You did! You gave me quite a fright!" Pretending to faint, you placed a hand over your still heart. Then the tiniest of grins formed on your lips as you gazed down at the blue-haired girl in a devil costume.
Somehow this 9 year old child--who called herself "Spooky" and insisted that was her real name--managed to infiltrate the mansion that you inherited from your elders...which you now haunted for all eternity after passing on a long time ago.
You don't recall what exactly did you in, but it was just tragic enough for you to become a ghost. And until you figured out what or why...you'll remain here, attached to this mansion. It was actually not half-bad, although it did get quite lonely up here, especially in recent years.
Rumors around the town began to spread about the precise origins of the mansion.....none of which were true, but sadly you couldn't give any of them the whole story, even if you tried.
Any contact you've attempted to make with humans would only lead to them pointing at you, screaming "ghost" at the top of their lungs, and promptly running away with their hands in the air.
That's how it's been for decades...although as of late people have become less superstitious. They started seeing ghosts, poltergeists, etc. as things of fiction. The only ones they "believed in" were Halloween costumes where kids wore white sheets and cut-out two holes for the eyes.
Apparently, the rumors of your mansion ceased to exist as well. So you haven't had a visitor in a long time....until Spooky came along and bravely entered alone.
Despite her name, the truth was that she was far too cute to ever be considered "spooky". But you didn't want her to feel discouraged, especially after she mentioned her own parents believing she's too young to be interested in Edgar Allan Poe. So you went along with her act to keep her happy.
As they say, "confidence is key".
"Good." Smirking in triumph, Spooky set down her plastic pitchfork on one of the tables, before climbing up the bunk bed ladder, sitting on the top mattress. There, she emptied her pumpkin-themed bucket upside down, candy spilling out into a pile. "Say...do you like candy?"
"I used to." You nodded, floating up to see her sorting her treats into different stacks. "But I can't exactly...eat it anymore."
"..ohhh, right, right..." She muttered, looking disappointed that she forgot that simple fact, although her cheerful attitude perked right back up. "Sooooo what's it like being a ghost? I bet you're a natural at scaring people! Can you teach me some tricks??" She tilted her head curiously.
"Ah, well..I don't do anything special." You shook your head, sighing. "I just need to...appear to them and they'd freak out. Nowadays, kids just come up this hill and dare each other to knock on the door. If they do see me...they call me a "dumb actor". Nothing I do scares them anymore. I wish I had some good advice for you, Spooks, but the truth is nobody believes in ghosts anymore. We're just make-believe to them..."
Although you felt kinda bad for dumping your problems on this child, she seemed to be absolutely focused on your words, her frown only growing as she munched on a chocolate bar. She gazed up at the full moon in thought, although she wondered how the glass windows stayed squeaky-clean when they were alllll the way up there.
But she snapped out of it, realizing there's a more pressing issue at hand:
Ghosts weren't taken seriously anymore.
There had to be a way to change that!
"Hmph..I think what this town needs is a haunted house...a real one. Not a cheap cardboard maze or anything dumb like that." She huffed. "This place is a perfect setting! Maybe one day I can help you haunt this place! And we can invite some friends and build up our own ghost army! That way, everybody will be scared again!"
You blinked in surprise at her never-ending optimism. She was truly an advocate for ghosts. 'Wow...for a nine year old, her imagination is quite vast..'
"It..would be a good way to remind people that the dead are still living among them.." You agreed. "I do miss hearing their screams of fear."
"Yes! I mean..who dares say you're "make-believe"?? You're the living--or erm..unliving proof that ghosts still exist!" She was swift to correct herself, puffing her cheeks out. "I promise you, [y/n]...someday people will take us seriously. We'll even show the whole world what ghosts are capable of!!"
"I'm sure we will, Spooks. I'm sure we will.." Chuckling softly, you entertained the idea, but knew something like that wasn't going to happen anytime soon.
After all, this was just the product of one Halloween fan's overactive imagination.
There's no way she could singlehandedly assemble an entire army of ghosts without becoming a ghost herself..
..right?

I went to a party last night, for the first time in a long time. I guess the last time I went to something that could be called a party would be July 2021, when my now-roommate had a party for his birthday in the patio behind a pub, outdoors due to COVID. But I knew every person at that party. Last night I went to a house party at the home of a person I didn’t know, for the birthday of a girl I did know, with my roommate and there were a few other people I knew, and about 30 people I did not know. Also drugs. I did not do any drugs but there were many drugs there. I haven’t been to a party like that, where there were drugs and people I did not know, since my days on the university team when they’d hold parties and invite people from other teams who’d all do drugs unless there was a tournament that does drug testing coming up, in which case they’d all discuss how much they looked forward to the tournament being over so they could do drugs. Top national athletes lead a less healthy lifestyle than one might assume.
Anyway. It’s been ten years since university, and yet I went to this party last night. Very few things could convince me to do something like that these days, but it was the birthday of a girl I used to coach. I first met her in 2010, when I was 20 and she was 14, and I’ve been willing to absolutely anything for her ever since. When she was 15 she told me she was getting her waist-length hair all cut off because she’d decided to dedicate her life to the sport and this haircut was symbolically important as a way to show she’d get rid of anything that could get in the way, and because as her coach I was one of the most important people in her life, she wanted me to be there. This haircut was a two-hour bus ride away for me, but I went anyway, because with an explanation like that I’d go to the North Pole to see her get her hair cut.
But I also said, holy fuck, that is dangerous, you are way way too young to throw yourself so completely into a sport so rife with toxic elements when you are this fucking talented and therefore this valuable to the worst people, I remember watching that woman cut her hair off and thinking I love her so much that I wish I could wrap her in some kind of force field forever to protect her from every person who would look at her talent and see someone to be exploited rather than protected. A few years later she got recruited to a big team with a terrifyingly abusive coach where they ruined several years of her life and she dropped out of school and quit the sport, after winning several international medals and before she could have won many more. When I saw her last night she was limping on her permanent knee injury caused by the coaches who made her postpone surgery so she could go win them a national medal first, but she also had waist-length hair, she’s turning 28 and is in school to be an engineer to make up for the earlier lost education, and she was so happy, and she gave me a hug and said she knows it’s not my kind of thing but she was grateful I’d shown up for her anyway because she wants the most important people in her life to be there. How could I not show up for that?
Her mother was there last night, whom I hadn’t seen since her going away party in 2013, when she moved away to compete for this bigger team against my advice. I remember standing with her mother at that party, her mother and I both knowing this was a mistake but also knowing we couldn’t stop her because she’s the most single-minded person I’ve ever met, and her mother would smile and be supportive when interacting with everyone else but I watched the look of worry on her face every time she turned away, and once during the night she took me aside and asked if this team with the abusive coach is really as bad as the rumours she’s heard, and I didn’t know what to say, because I didn’t want to lie but I didn’t want to scare a scared mother even more. I just said her daughter is strong and has a support system at home, and we watched her laughing with her teammates that she wouldn’t see again and I felt so awful that I hadn’t done more to protect her.
But she got through it! Last night I stood with her mother and we watched her dance in the kitchen with her friends, and her mother and I were both so out of place in that room, but I felt so happy and her mother looked so happy to see it worked out this way. Her mother told me she remembers me, remembers how hard I fought for her daughter back in the day, was glad we still know each other. Later in the night, when she was quite drunk, the birthday girl told me that she still remembers how I used to find her in the change room when she’d go down there to have panic attacks when she was a teenager, how I’d talk her down through breathing exercises and more than once I washed blood off her hands where she’d punched the walls, and she told me she still thinks of me when she has panic attacks and remembers the breathing advice.
I also realized, at some point last night, that there were three girls there I used to coach (the birthday girl and two of her friends from different generations of our team, all in their mid-to-late twenties now), and all three are examples of why I get so angry about adults sleeping with teenagers, even the technically-of-legal-age ones. Different guys, too. It’s not like we had one guy on the team who kept targeting different teenagers. It’s just that adults fucking up teenage girls’ development by sexualizing them is so common that if you take three girls I knew when they were teenagers, there’s a good chance all three of them will have had this happen.
In this case, all three were girls who, in different years, had been 16 or 17 but always still in high school, and had come to me, as their only female coach, to say a guy in his mid-to-late twenties was sleeping with them or trying to do so. One told me because she was scared of him and didn’t know how to say no. One told me because she was confused and thought maybe she liked him but also it made her very uncomfortable to realize a guy his age could see her that way, it didn’t feel like it was okay but she didn’t know if she was allowed to be upset because technically she was legal (I remember her saying “I’m legal”, like she was an unregulated product, as that was how she’d learned to see herself).
And one told me she was very happy dating this 24-year-old on the team despite being 16, they were together nearly a year while I watched and desperately wanted to convince her to get out of there but I couldn’t because it was technically legal, until they finally broke up, and she pulled me aside in the change room to tell me she was scared to be in the practice room with him because he’d started harassing her. That was yesterday’s birthday girl. We talked about him, briefly, last night. She told me she can’t believe how naïve she was as a teenager, how she was convinced her adult boyfriend really loved her, when now she knows he was a disgusting creep and predator from the start, not just for the way he stalked and harassed her post-breakup, but for ever going after someone her age at all, taking advantage of her being too young to know it wasn’t okay, and she was so glad we’ve finally kicked him off the team and won’t let him around teenagers anymore.
It's depressing when I look at it all that way. I used to be uncomfortable, at first, about being relegated to being the “girls’ coach”, just because I was the only female coach of a co-ed team. All the coaches worked with all the athletes, and actually my physical style in the sport was more similar to most of our male athletes than the female ones, so I worked well with the male athletes. I didn’t like having people assume that I must work mainly with the female athletes, or have some special connection with the female athletes just because we’re all girls, the boys and girls trained together and I didn’t want to be singled out based on gender.
It was the girl who turned 28 last night who really changed my mind about that, back in my early coaching days. She was one of the only girls on the team back in her day, I was the only female coach, they pretty much gave her to me to teach, and she was such a fucking amazing person that it made me see the upside to being a woman for pretty much the first time in my life. I’d always hated being a girl, always hated being treated differently from the boys, but her was this incredible teenager that I got to work with extra just because of my gender (not that this was official or anything, she and I were both part of the larger team, but I ended up working with her most days because that was sort of expected of the female coach). I loved her so much that it made me stop hating myself for a bit.
But on the other hand, when I look back, so much of the “female bonding” that we got, as the one female coach with the few female teenage athletes, did revolve around me trying to help them through the issues of adults sexualizing them, boys their own age harassing them when they didn’t want it, teachers making uncomfortable comments about their bodies. You take a sample of three girls from those days and put them in a party last night, and all three are girls I’ve seen cry in change rooms about adults trying to sleep with them when they were teenagers. That sort of thing makes being a girl seem a lot less good. But I’m still glad I got to be in their lives. I think getting to be a positive role model to teenage girls might be the only thing I like about being a woman.
I don't know what this post's been about, really. Probably one of those posts I'll take down within an hour or so as it feels too personal, but also makes me feel better in the moment to post it. I went to a party last night where there were a bunch of people taking recreational drugs and it made me ruminate about gender and why I'm so incredibly protective of teenage girls/probably have a bit too much of a personal, intense hatred of adults who sleep with teenagers, but also I think of all the things I could get disproportionately angry about, that's not too bad a one.

Babygirl, i got it
I just want to tell you if it’s ok I send the strawberry jam request to my friend who also writes(prob won’t write it cuz she’s busy) that was unimportant
I am the anon who wrote you the ask on Strawberry Jam.
And after eating all that up, I have to say. I HAVE NEVER IN MY LIFE READ SOMETHING SO DELICIOUS. This work was a high quality piece and I’m coming back for more.
So,
You know I’m gonna ask you for Continuation of this masterpiece.
So my mind is already jumping to the third part so I think, I’m just gonna tell you how the third part could go (I have severe adhd)
-year or two later-
Bros getting ready to marry her n eyeing her up n down, thinking whether he should break the promise he gave to her dad about not getting her pregnant n blah blah blah. Him inviting over her dad while she is wedding shopping and asking him for permission¿ Fr he would be so nervous and tense I’m not even kidding.
“Also, I might get her pregnant before the wedding” or “also, I think she’s pregnant, she has been very moody lately” fR he would be smug about it
(just pretend it’s something else/I’m not very smart as I’m writing this cause it 3 am and I have not slept yet, but it’s holidays)
She would find out that she’s pregnant and getting all happy n dovey, knowing it’s the consequences of them fucking raw everywhere in the house. ( fr he would have it as a bucket list, fuck on every stable surface n room in the house, he would also be so shameless about it, I love it)
He comes home, after getting ‘the talk’ from his future fil (father in law), sensing she has something to say, so with his shit-eating grin he says something along the lines of “ what you have for me, ma? Don’t get all shy on me, mami” I love him nicknaming me ma or mami, don’t even get me started on his accent and his talks in Spanish to me.
He would be so happy n exited for this new chapter of their life together the even tear would escape his eye, that she’s growing their little bean inside her.
For instance, he would kiss her all up with their make out sesh he would lay her on his chest, her listening to his heartbeat n getting sleepy telling him all about her day. FR he would just euphorically smile, knowing that he’s internally happy.
I feel like this would already be part four🫠
Them marrying each other and the dad and Miguel would be both crying, no the dad would be full on sobbing while walking her down the aisle. I assume that by the time he was marrying her she would be PREGNANT pregnant like on the bring of pushing the lil human out, but before all that, there would be the happiest moments of them together, for example them laying in bed early in the morning on weekend, he would be up bc fr he’s a morning bird, setting himself so his head would be next to her baby bump. He would talk to the baby fetus for HOURS to no end.
Or them together cooking, just things like that.
OHHH PART 2
so her putting her high level qualified degree to use, she gets a job at alchimax working alongside him, and slowly realising they they’re both unhappy. So they start their own company.( I do not have any experience) like the company would slowly turn into the most powerful corporation ever destroying everyone with its patented tech n ideas, bro they would be crazy rich but still be kind of humble? Their jobs be like their hobbies, and dad would be super proud of her.
Part five would be like them with their baby, and just loving tooth rotting fluff of Miguel being a father.
I am💯sure that Miguel would have lactation kink.
I did not reread it after me, for that I apologise, because I’m gonna go to sleep cuz it’s currently 4 am and I’ve been writing this for an hour. Also it’s incoherent, I will prob make it coherent soon. Also you absolutely feel no pressure writing it anytime soon, because I know it’s a lot and it’s kinda not making sense?and kinda cringe?
Anon...
I must ask you for advice cause that PLOTTING SKILL IS *Chef kiss* Wish I had that fr haha.
2. Im so... JSKGAHSHS ❤️❤️ You loved it.
3. OF COURSE I AM WRITING A PART 2 and probably make it a small fic 🤭. It is not cringe. I love smut, sure, but I also love me a good fluff and stuff.
4. Its totally fine, if they write it, I wanna read too! ❤️
5. I will upload as soon as I have cleared up some other requests and AU's for Miguel.
You seriously made my day. Any request do, actually, ❤️. Thank you so much for keeping me busy haha.
6.Rest well nonny ❤️✨.

So my doorbell rang and I went to answer because I was hoping it was my new bookshelf being delivered.
It was not.
Pest company doing door to door. And I tried to very politely send him on his way, but he really wanted to give his spiel. So I answered one or two questions in ways that were basically 'i am happy with the company I already use and am entirely uninterested in changing companies.'
Did I just have a cricket wasp invasion? Yes. Did it clear up within four weeks of treating my attic? Also yes. They're not the cheapest option but not the most expensive either and they only do inside treatments when they're necessary, since their outdoor treatment is usually enough to keep the house protected. The wasp problem is honestly the first big issue I've had since switching to them many years ago - which considering I had an on again/off again ant problem before the switch and 0 ant problems in the... I dunno, eight years I've used this company... that's a pretty good track record TBH.
I'm not gonna say I didn't consider switching if the wasp problem didn't clear up or that I wasn't frustrated with their policies regarding going up into attics. But if I make the decision to switch companies, I'm not going to switch to a company that's sent someone to be pushy at my doorstep.
So this guy has already lost from the get go, but he did not help things by assuming I didn't already have a pest company. I get it, there's a month's worth of spider webbing build up on the eaves (the devil works hard but the spiders in my neighborhood work harder). And he claimed there were no traps out despite the two super obvious traps in the front flowerbeds if he'd bothered to look to his left or right like... at all. Dude was being very condescending for someone lacking observational skills.
At this point, he tries to get me to tell him how much I pay for my pest company having ignored what was already a polite invitation to go away now please (not in those exact words) so I was realizing subtle was. Not working.
Thus I told him no. He didn't need to know that, I didn't care if it wasn't 'privileged' information, it wasn't any of his business. I was busy and needed to go now.
His attempt to joke me into telling him something I'd already said no to having failed, he goes 'oh yeah, I've got a lot of other people to visit, but...' and I just cut him right off at the knees right there. Metaphorically, of course, no actual knees were maimed.
"Well, then I'll let you get to it. Have a good evening."
At that point he acknowledged he'd lost, mostly because I was already closing the door. He hopped on his Segway (or whatever that was) and left.
Anyway, the last time I had a door to door person come by, she accepted my first subtle not interested with grace and then asked if I minded giving advice on how to become a home owner because I was young, with my own home, and she and her husband were wanting out of their apartment into a house. That was a much nicer interaction and I'm glad that I gave off 'safe person to ask advice' from because that's just not stuff they teach in school anymore. (And she meant it too, as there was no further mention of what she was selling.)
But I really wish I had remembered to check my camera this time before opening the door because I could have avoided today's door to door guy interaction entirely instead of being greeted by disappointment over no bookcase and irritation over a pushy salesman trying (and failing) to bulldoze me.
#the perils of home ownership#door to door annoyances#no he was super condescending though#the look on his face when I told him 'i'll let you get to it' was pretty funny however#like he clearly realized he'd said the wrong thing to get me to keep the door open

(Nevermind don't I'm embarrassed) Thank you and have a good day/night! 💕
Part 1: Crimson Embrace
Moving to a whole new country for your university wasn't the best idea, but you'd do anything to get rid of your abusive parents even if it's just for a few years. Now you're at your dorm room, trying to fit every useless shit you brought. Not that you were the hoarder type, you just held onto things to ease your desperate need to feel familiar with your surroundings, to not to feel like a stranger. Thankfully, your new roommate didn't take up much space. Yeah, she was messy but didn't take up any of your space at least. Where even was she anyway?
After finally finishing up with your things, you stepped out, lighting a cigarette behind the dorm. That was when a friendly-looking girl approached you. "Hey!" The girl beamed, seeming too happy for her own good but who were you to judge? "Hi." You replied with a small smile, giving a subtle shake to her extended hand. "You must be that new girl! I wanted to see you for so long!" Of course, everyone had heard about the girl who got a full ride in a university so prestigious like this. You had worked too hard for a chance to get away. You simply nodded, taking a drag. "There's a party at my house tonight. You know, to get to know the other students and shit like that. Maybe you'd like to come? Don't worry, it's not far from the campus." A party, huh? Maybe you'd meet new people and even make friends. Maybe your new roommate would be there, too. You gave the girl your number, scratching the back of your head. "Hey... do you know this girl called Ellie Williams? Is she coming to the party, too?" The girl's smile faltered when she heard about my words. "How do you know her? why do you want to know?" She was acting suspiciously. Was she a really possessive girlfriend or something? "Apparently she's my roommate. I've never seen her once so I thought I'd meet her." The girl seemed relieved. "I see. I'd advise you to stay as far as you can from her. She's not exactly the friendliest. As for the party... I don't know if she'll come." You raised an eyebrow. "You don't know? How do you not know if she'll come to your party or not?" The girl went away, saying "Sorry..." Great. You managed to chase away the first person you've met here. Nonetheless, you were going to that party.
After an hour, you were ready for the party in your tiny black dress and platforms paired with dark makeup. According to the text you've gotten, it really wasn't far. You walked into the house to find the party bustling, people drinking, getting baked, making out and many things worse. Wasn't this to only get to know people? It seemed like everyone knew each other. You went ahead and grabbed a drink, trying not to bump into that one couple making out sloppily against the kitchen counter. The girl that had invited you seemed busy dancing. You sighed, downing your beer in one go before approaching someone who also looked alone. "Hey." You gave them your sweetest smile, wanting to be friends. "Hey there." The muscular woman in front of you smirked, looking down at you since you were still short despite the platforms. "Are you lost, princess? You seem stressed." The woman's voice was silky, giving you a warm feeling. This could be fun. You observed the blonde woman in front of you. She seemed confident which made her attractive. "I'm new around here. I wanted to get to know the others." You replied coolly, leaning against the wall beside the blondie. You were chatting with that woman until your eyes landed on her, her auburn hair all over the place as she kissed some girl's neck with such passion that even you felt it. Your eyes were glued to her, you couldn't look away no matter how hard you tried. Fuck, you wanted that stranger to kiss you that way. Just then, the woman caught your gaze. Just a look was enough to get you so turned on that it was uncomfortable. Who... who is she? You couldn't even hear the woman talking beside you. Her gaze was intense, caging and trapping you in it. Your cheeks were uncharacteristically red. The air was thick, there was no denying of the tension between you despite her kissing someone else. Just then, the woman's lips curled up slightly as her lips were trailing down the girl under her. You could feel a wet spot forming on your underwear from just that. "Fuck..." You muttered, turning to grab a drink. Maybe that would ease your mind. You returned to your spot but neither the blonde woman or her was there. You got your things to head back to your dorm immediately.
You were dazed, mesmerized, maybe even hypnotized by her. As soon as you returned to your dorm room, you got to the bathroom, taking your drenched panties off. You didn't even bother locking the door since your roommate didn't seem like she was gonna show up. Sliding two digits in your dripping hole, you whimpered, the images of that woman driving you wild. You weren't even that drunk to be this horny! "Hah... Ahh..." Your eyes fluttered shut back as you pinched a perked nipple, hips bucking forward. You imagined her kissing you like that, her long tongue lapping at your folds. After a few more thrusts, you took them out to rub your clit, reaching the most earth shattering climax. "F-fuck..!" Your juices created a puddle on the floor, wetting your legs. The post nut clarity hit you like a thousand bricks. You had rubbed one out to someone you've barely seen. That was trouble.
You took a shower and cleaned the floor, getting into your most comfortable pajamas before opening the door to finally see your roommate. Her. Your eyes widened, cheeks flushed. Did she hear you? When did she even come? you didn't heard anyone coming in! "You must be my new roommate." The woman grinned, sharp fangs sitting on top of her lower lip. "I'm Ellie Williams. Nice to meet ya."
You didn't know what you expected, but it certainly wasn't this. "Hi." You looked down to the floor, cheeks ablaze. That's when you noticed blood smeared on her sleeve. "Are you... okay?" You asked, still not daring to look at her in the eyes. "Yeah, a simple nose bleed, nothing important." She mumbled, walking past me to get to the bathroom. "You sure took a long shower. Leave some warm water for me next time." With that, she got in, locking the door. "You can't be serious right now..." You whispered to yourself with a deep sigh, sitting on the bed. I hope she didn't hear me... How were you supposed to sleep when you're sharing a room with the girl you've fantisized about?? I must've been worked up, busy with moving out and all... Yeah, that's the reason... You still had to try and sleep, not wanting to be late on your first day. You hid yourself under the blanket, imagining how you're gonna decorate your farm in that favorite game of yours.
You managed to get some shut eye, though you were awake most of the night. You woke up early, you had to try to impress people. First impressions were really important. As you stood in front of the mirror and wondered how you're gonna conceal those purple eye bags, your eyes drifted to the woman sleeping soundly across the room. She appeared flawless, with not a trace of imperfection marring her exquisite form. You were looking at her as if she hung the fucking stars or something, what was wrong with you?? "Go ahead, take a picture. You can look at it when I'm away." Ellie spoke with her eyes closed. HOW THE FUCK did she notice you looking at her through the window?! "I have no idea what you're talking about." You mumbled, bouncing the curl you made with your straightener. Ellie remained silent, checking her phone with a yawn. "Spending too much time in shower and making noise this early? You're lucky you've got a pretty face, newbie." Her words were affecting you too much and that was not familiar to you in any way. You were known for your indifference, so how come a simple word like pretty had affected you this much? You went to the bathroom, washing your red face. After finishing your look, you took your bag and left.

five days:
poor robyn being the only one on the maternity ward without a baby with her :(
she reveals she's named her charlotte, charlie for short, which is funny bc i don't remember anyone ever once calling her charlie after these first few episodes
robyn's a little bit in denial as to how charlotte's not out of the woods yet
cal kept treating a dying elderly woman against the daughter's wishes so he failed to give her a peaceful death😬
ah jonathan barling the paeds consultant, he appears a few times in 2018 right? he and/or his wife suffer burns from trying to jump-start a car iirc? and i think he also treated kiegan carr
he's saying that charlotte possibly has an infection. makes sense right i mean she was born prematurely on the floor in a graveyard in the rain. this makes me think how bodhi was also born prematurely (well, we just have to take their word for it lol), on the floor in the woods in december, but he's sent home almost immediately only to come back in with pneumonia a week later😭😭
cal called the daughter in to try and speak to her because he was worried she'd make a complain, and i don't think she was going to make one but she certainly is now! soo perhaps trying to act like sam isn't the best idea?
david's on the psych ward but called nicu to enquire about charlotte and now robyn's trying to find him while charlie and duffy try to stop her😬
robyn pushing charlie over lol
again, amanda henderson is incredible
duffy inviting robyn and charlotte to go live with them to get settled and have some support🥺
mr barling's office looks exactly like the room grace was in, funny that
aw robyn calling connie for support
oop duffy thought she didn't have to ask charlie about asking robyn to move in beforehand because she assumed he would be all for it but he doesn't appear to be...
the woman who made the complaint came back drunk and with a dislocated shoulder and she possibly accidentally revealed to cal that she helped her mum to die so now he's investigating but sam doesn't approve and tells him to stay away and occupy himself with some nurse who showed an interest in him
cal's gone to that woman's house?? funny how she lives in the exact same house that many people who find themselves in the hospital do. idk why i'm noticing the reused sets and locations more than usual in this ep
OH LMAO i forgot the woman neeve's story "i ruined her life" "we all have guilt about our parents somehow" "no i'm adopted. i went looking for my birth mum but i was just really stupid, clumsy, hurtful, and i just broke poor miriam's heart. we didn't speak for years, and then when i came back and found her dying... now i just miss her beautiful soul" bit close to home for cal lol "i went to look for my birth mum too" "so the wounded find each other"
see cal cares too much to succeed at being like sam
max showing robyn the nursery he decorated for charlotte🥺🥺
oop jez and louise accidentally interrupt their heart to heart😭😭
"if she lives or dies, i can't face any of it" "great, so you're doing what your mum did to you?" "don't you dare" "no, come on, she left you when you needed her most and you said that hurt goes on and on, and now you little girl is fighting for her life and you're doing exactly the same thing to her"
charlotte's got a lot of necrotic tissue
she has to have a temporary stoma
"neeve, you spent your whole life not knowing why the mother that carried you gave you away. i know what that does. of course you went looking. sometimes we get stuff wrong." :(
"so the wounded heal each other, eh?"🥺🥺
sam tells cal that he doesn't have to worry about neeve's complaint because she's "obviously slightly bonkers" and doesn't listen to him trying to say that he's already sorted it, and he tells him that he completely ignored his advice and cal says he acted on pure instinct and sam goes "instinct and audacity. all well and fine in the chaos department but reckless line crossing? sorry no room for that in surgery." don't listen to him cal you don't need to be a surgeon anyway!
aww charlotte's waking up and fighting the tube🥺🥺
charlie's decided he does want robyn to come live with them after all
aw robyn hugging mr barling sksjkjdf
only 3 episodes left before reap the whirlwind😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

JUICY PART 2
A dilemma? I said. He told me a women was waiting for him at a club. He knew her from a online dating site. I gazed at him for a moment and when I looked into his eyes I could see he didn't want to leave. So I said, “well I don't see the dilemma, you're going home with me.”
He smiled and said, “you're right, there's no dilemma”.
and he turned and told his friend he wasn't leaving he would stay with me. I felt like the blissful feeling would continue and we danced and kissed more right there on the make- shift dance floor.
The party was winding down and we all decided it was time to leave. My sister met a young guy as well, and he was coming back with us. So we all piled into a small Peugeot, 4 girls and 2 guys. Of course we didn't fit and the only way we could was if I sat on his lap in the back seat. So that's what's we did and I didn't care that It wasn't comfortable because I was wrapped in his arms as he held me tight. We were like two naughty teenagers in the back of the car, we couldn't stop from touching and kissing each other. For most of the ride he was rubbing my legs and kissing me all over my shoulders and neck. When we weren't we would all sing and laugh about the night and the cramped situation in the car.
After a few miles we stopped on the outside of Amsterdam and one of friends was let out . She had to meet with her boyfriend so could have herself a wonderful end of the nigh. We continued on the highway and about half way to Amersfoort we stopped at a large gas station to get some food and go to the toilet. While in the store we continued to sing and dance and didn't care about the other people watching us. I purchased him a frikandel, a Dutch snack and we all got some kind of warm treat to eat before we continued on our way.
Once we arrived in Amersfoort we went to the city center, to keep the party going. Let me tell you, the bars in Amersfoort don't really have the best vibes, but he did not complain at all. I wanted to take him home, get naked and make love anyways so I suggested we leave and head to my place. It was only a few minutes walk to my house and the others were all going their separate ways. During the walk home we couldn't keep our hands off each other. As we passed a busy intersection he pushed me against a brick wall in the middle of the street and kissed me with even more passion than before. My whole body was responding and I didn't want it to stop, but we where only a few minutes away. I took his hand and walked him home as fast as I could. When we entered he looked around and mentioned how nice my home was and if he could have some water. I gave him the glass and that's when he grabbed my hips and pulled me close to him. We continued our passionate kissing right there in the kitchen and for the first time he touched my boobs. I wanted to give myself totally to him. We took each other’s clothes off and I kissed his whole body. He tasted a bit salty and I loved the smell of his sweaty body. We looking into each other’s eyes and talked some and then kiss some more. We talked about his trip and if he needed any advice regarding Amsterdam. This was his first day in Europe and he had been awake for almost 24 hours by now. We continued talking and as I looked at him sitting completely naked on my kitchen counter, I was turned on by his confidence. He asked me to come closer and he grabbed my naked body and started kiss me on my neck and them to my already swollen nipples. I was getting more wet with his very touch. I pulled back and looked into his eyes and gave him a smile and wink and invited him to come upstairs with me. We could hardly walk two feet without stopping to kiss and touch each other. Once on the second floor he laid me down on my bed and started to kiss me all over my entire body. I mean my entire body from head to toe. When he got down to my ankles, I wondered what he would do next and he proceeded to lick the top of my feet. I couldn’t believe my eyes and when he sucked my toes with his warm mouth, it felt so good I couldn't hold myself together any longer. I let out a loud gasp and moaned while my toes were in his mouth and he’s looking directly into my eyes. I wanted to feel him inside of me so bad, but I wanted to taste him my mouth first. He stood up and I looked at his chocolate body and started to lick his thighs, up to his belly and then his nipples. I could see how hard he was and how he wanted my lips around his throbbing member. I liked teasing him so I kissed him all while softly touching his dick with my body and caressing his chest with my tits. I couldn’t take it any longer and I went down on him and sucked his dick with a great deal of passion. I loved to taste him in my mouth. I could tell he liked it too, by the sounds he was making. He turned me on my back and started to lick my pussy like no other before and it felt magical. The desire I felt for him was reciprocated. I whispered how badly I wanted him inside of me, so he came up and let me taste my own juices on his lips. He slided right into me and it felt heavenly to finally melt together. We made love for hours in such an intimate way it felt like we known each other from a pass life. We enjoyed every position and kissed most of the time when we could. Our body’s were so connected it was a euphoric moment for the both of us. We made passionate love for the first time and when I asked him to pull out and cum on my body, he did just that. His juices shot over my belly and tits and when he stopped we continued to kiss, both sticky with his cum and breathing heavily.

The One I Want
Yelena x Reader (romantic)
Summary: Yelena Belova is always wary of new friendships. See, most people just talk to her because of her sister, the popular Natasha Romanov, so blame her for questioning your intentions. Based off Chloe by Emblem3
(wrote this in one go, so pardon the mistakes)
Yelena has always felt second best to her sister Natasha, which isn’t saying much when it’s only the two of them.
These feelings go way back, back to when they’d play in the jungle gym during recess. She remembers being nervous for her first day at school after their family moved. Natasha, the ever loving sister she is, held her hand the entire way to her classroom. Yelena was worried she wouldn’t make any friends and that everyone would think she was weird. Natasha had told her that making a friend would be easy, to smile and give them a compliment. Everyone likes compliments.
That day, Yelena made her first friend by doing just that. Yelena thought her sister might have gone overboard with her own advice. It seemed like everyone in Nat’s grade wanted to be her friend. They were always inviting her to play with them, and though sometimes Nat hung out with others, she tended to spend her time with Yelena and her best friend. Yelena couldn’t have been any happier, getting to play with her sister and best friend.
Then she began to notice how all her best friend could talk about was her sister. Yelena didn’t mind it too much. She admired her sister too. Maybe her friend just thought someone older hanging out with them was cool. It got old soon. Yelena grew tired of her friend only ever talking to Nat when she hung out with them.
Natasha’s only a year older, so she and Yelena spent most of their school years together. Throughout those years, Yelena made more friends and the same thing would happen. They’d lose interest in her and all their attention shifted over to Natasha.
Freshman year of high school was the worst. It wasn’t so bad at first, but then people noticed that Nat hung around her in the hallways a lot. Soon, everyone knew she was her sister. Yelena grew popular by association and she hated it. Most people referred to her as Nat’s sister. They would literally greet her like that. “Hey, Nat’s sister.”
Yelena goes about things differently now. When having to work with a classmate after school, she suggests the library or her partner’s house, never hers. Too many times, people have partnered up with her to come over to her house and she would end up doing most of the work because her partners would be distracted waiting for Natasha to show up.
She spent her lunch time in the corner of the library where no one would disturb her and never lingered in the halls. She learned guys liked to use that time to ask to put in a good word for them with her sister. Half the time they didn’t know her name.
Needless to say, she wasn’t one to make friends. She didn’t trust anyone who wanted to be her friend and when you came into her life, she trusted you less.
It was your first day here, having moved from out of state. You were nervous, worried you might not make friends seeing as it’s the middle of the school year and everyone would already have their close knit of friends. You weren’t sure you’d fit in anywhere.
You were wandering the halls looking for your next class when a blonde girl rushed past you in a hurry. In her rush, she didn’t notice a paper slip from in between her books. You did. You picked it up and chased after her. You tried calling her attention but you thought she couldn’t hear you.
Yelena thought you were just another person trying to get in with her sister. Having heard people try to call her attention without knowing her name happened so often she just ignored them now. You caught up to her, tapping on her shoulder, you said, “Excuse me. You dropped this.”
Yelena stopped and looked at the piece of paper in your hand.
“Oh. Thanks,” she muttered. You smiled at her and she gave you an awkward one back before turning to go. You stopped her from leaving, finding it the opportunity to ask where the classroom was. “Sorry, before you go-”
She sighed, interrupting you, “Let me guess. You want me to put in a good word with my sister.”
She looked annoyed and you joked, “Only if she’s as pretty as you.”
You immediately regretted saying that, embarrassed. She narrowed her eyes at you and you apologized. “Sorry, I don’t know why I said that. No, I’m sure your sister is nice, but I was hoping you could tell me where to find classroom F12?”
Her narrowed eyes never let up, but she told you where to go. You rush off, having been told you were on the wrong floor. “Thank you. See you around!”
And see you she did, the very next period. Seeing her familiar face and empty seat by her, you sat next to her. She had her earphones in so you waved a hand in her peripheral vision. She took off an earbud and looked at you unimpressed.
“Hi, stranger!” you greeted her with a friendly smile. “Are you a junior too?”
“This is 11th grade English, so I must be,” she answered sarcastically, trying to get you to stop talking to her, but to her surprise you laughed. She gave you an odd look that you ignored, continuing to try to make conversation.
“What are you listening to?” you asked. She showed you her phone and your eyes lit up. “I love that song. Have you seen Ella Enchanted? Ending the movie with that song was awesome.”
You spent the rest of the class period talking about your favorite movies. Yelena actually contributed to the conversation after spending half the time looking at you curiously. You didn’t mind it though. The following days followed the same structure. You asked her what she was listening to and then you would turn that into a conversation.
Even though Yelena still didn’t trust you, she found it refreshing that not once did you bring up her sister. You would ask about Yelena only. You found Yelena interesting and funny. You would look for her during lunch but never saw her in the cafeteria. You sat with friends you made from other classes. Jane, Darcy, Scott, and Monica are really nice but sometimes it was hard to keep up with them. They’re incredibly smart, you had to stop them often to explain what they were saying, which they had no problem doing.
You asked Yelena one day where she spent her lunches. She was hesitant to answer but she did and every other day you would pop in the library to talk to her during lunch. You invited her to come have lunch with you in the cafeteria but she turned down your offer. Darcy invited you, Jane, Scott, and Monica over to her house to watch a movie. You asked if you could invite Yelena. With Darcy’s permission, you asked Yelena in class the next day.
“No, thanks.”
“Come on, Yelena,” you pleaded. “It’ll be fun! What else do you have to do tonight?”
“Homework,” she answered, to which you rolled your eyes.
“It’s Friday. You can do it tomorrow or like everyone else, the night before it’s due. Please. We never hang out outside of school. Come on.”
It took some begging, but she agreed and then she found herself tagging along to every movie night you and your friends had. Someone else hosted every week and then it was her turn.
“Hi, I’m Nat.”
This was the moment everything would change and go back to the way it’s always been, Yelena thought. You smiled at Natasha and introduced yourself. “So you’re Yelena’s sister! I’m Y/N. Nice to meet you.”
“What are you planning to do tonight?” Nat asked.
“We’re going to watch a movie. We’re waiting on the others. If you’re not doing anything, you can join in. Since Yelena’s hosting, she gets to pick the movie. Maybe you can convince her not to pick a horror movie,” you laughed, which Yelena understood to be a flirty kind of laugh, but it was actually nervous laughter. You really didn’t want to watch a scary movie.
To Yelena’s disappointment, Nat agreed to watch a movie with the group. It’s not that Yelena didn’t enjoy spending time with her sister, but she was finally getting comfortable within the group, not feeling like Nat’s sister but Yelena. She didn’t want that to change.
To your dismay, Natasha couldn’t convince Yelena to pick another genre. Everyone else arrived and introduced themselves to Nat. Soon everyone was sitting down with snacks ready to watch Insidious. No one sat next to Yelena knowing that spot was reserved for you. You two always sat next to each other sharing popcorn. Unfortunately, her sister didn’t know this and sat beside her.
You came back with the popcorn and seeing the only space for you was next to Natasha, you sat there, letting the sisters sit next to one another. You tried to act tough, not cowering or flinching when something would pop up on screen but you couldn’t any longer towards the second half of the movie. Something on the screen startled you and you reached for the hand next to you, thinking it was your friend’s hand.
You felt the person next to you look at you and you flushed in embarrassment, realizing it wasn’t Yelena’s hand you held. You pulled away, apologizing, but you did it again two more times until Nat smirked and offered you her arm to use for comfort. You held onto Natasha for the remainder of the movie.
Despite being the one to choose the movie, Yelena didn’t bother paying attention to it. Instead she sulked in her seat, eyes on you and Nat. That was supposed to be her you clung onto. That was the whole reason she picked a horror movie. She guessed you didn’t like them because you would never include them when you talked about movies you liked and you once vetoed a horror movie at another movie night.
By the third movie night, Yelena had realized that she was crushing on you. She decided then to figure out if she had a chance with you. The last movie night, she suggested playing some games after, a part of her plan to dig for information. Monica did the work for her, asking you if you had left anyone special when you moved. You dated some girl named Kate but you broke up because you were moving.
Yelena had decided then that maybe she had a chance and she would start off small to see if you might feel the same way she did. You spending the night cuddling into Nat’s arm was not what she had in mind. When the movie ended, you let Nat’s arm free. You didn’t want anyone to see. She chuckled, making you blush again. You didn’t want the group to think you were a scaredy cat.
Everyone got up to stretch. Seeing it was getting late, everyone called their ride and got ready to leave. You were the last to go. Your mom called saying she was outside. Yelena and Nat walked you to the door.
“Thanks for hosting, Yel.” You hugged her goodnight. You waved goodbye to her sister. “Nice meeting you, Nat. Thanks for the... arm?”
She chuckled, “Anytime.”
You give Yelena a parting smile. “See you, Monday!”
Natasha closed the door behind you. “Your friends are cool.”
“Yeah, you and Y/N seemed to get along,” Yelena mumbled, and Nat sensing some bite in her tone, asked, “Is that a bad thing? You seem mad.”
“Why would I be mad? I’m not mad,” Yelena denied.
“Really? Cause you were pouting throughout the movie.”
“No, I wasn’t,” Yelena insisted.
Natasha pursed her lips. “So you don’t mind if I get along with Y/N?”
Yelena shook her head. “I don’t care. Do what you want.”
Then she stormed off to her room where she proceeded to grab a pillow and scream into it. On Monday, Yelena assumed when you saw her, you would start asking about Natasha but to her surprise you didn’t. You continued to do what you normally do. You asked her what she was listening to and then tied that into something else. She found it weird and decided to bite the bullet.
She asked you what you thought about her sister. You answered honestly, “Your sister’s nice.”
“That’s it?” she asked.
“Um, No?” you didn’t know what Yelena was asking for. You honestly did not talk too much to Nat to get a sense of what she’s really like. You did your best to come up with something. “She was cool enough to let me use her as a pillow. That was kind of her.”
“That was very nice of her,” she agreed with you. “She’s very pretty, don’t you think?”
You didn’t know what Yelena was playing at. You weren’t sure whether you were meant to agree or disagree, but you weren’t going to lie either. You nod. “Sure, she is.”
“Sure?” Yelena looks irritated.
“I don’t know what you want me to say. I’m confused,” you admitted.
“Forget it.” She turned back to her work. Sensing the conversation was over, you turned to your work as well. The rest of the week went by like that. You would talk about something or another and Yelena would bring up her sister. On Friday, you reminded Yelena that you were hosting the movie that night.
“Should I tell Natasha?” she asked, disgruntled.
“Yeah, if you want,” you shrugged.
“Way to play it cool,” she murmured. You heard it but you decided to ignore the weird comment.
When Yelena arrived at your house, you hugged her in greeting and offered her a drink. “Monica and Jane are making popcorn. So we’re just waiting on Scott and Darcy.”
“Are you not gonna ask?” Yelena looked annoyed.
“Ask what?” You were confused. She just got there. You don’t know what she could have been annoyed by already.
“Why Nat isn’t here,” she explained like it was obvious.
“Oh! Sorry, I forgot,” you apologized. “I’m guessing she didn’t want to watch a movie?”
“She had plans.”
“Okay,” you accepted her answer easily and moved on. “So, Jane suggested a movie called Frequency but I have a feeling it’s going to confuse me-”
“She’s going to Tony Stark’s party,” Yelena adds.
“Jane? I think she changed her mind ‘cause she’s basically wearing her pajamas. I don’t think she plans to go like that,” you joked.
Yelena rolled her eyes. “No, Natasha.”
“That makes more sense. Well, I hope she has fun. I hear those parties are wild,” you commented. “Oh, hey! I found those sodas you were telling me about. I haven’t tried one yet, but I bought a whole pack. I thought we could all try them together. I want to see everyone’s reactions and if they are as good as you said they are.”
The doorbell rang and you told Yelena to go get something to drink while you went to get the door. As you expected it was Scott and Darcy, but to your surprise also Natasha, looking dressed for a different occasion. You welcomed them in and led them to the kitchen to grab drinks and snacks.
“Hey, look who else decided to join,” you told the girls in the kitchen. Nat waved at everyone. Yelena looked surprised.
“I thought you were going to a party,” Yelena said, sounding inconvenienced.
Natasha shrugged. “You’ve been to one Stark party, you’ve been to them all. I wanted a more lowkey kind of night. I hope you guys don’t mind.”
“Not at all,” you waved her off. You went to the refrigerator and pulled out the sodas you mentioned earlier. “I was just telling Yelena I bought these for us to try. She tells me they’re great. Let’s see if she’s right.”
You handed everyone a soda, smiling at Yelena as you passed her one. For some reason, she was frowning and you wondered why she’s been in a bad mood lately. Everyone popped open their soda. Scott took a giant gulp and then started choking.
“Oh, god. It’s so strong. It burns,” he described, making a face of pain, but he continued drinking the soda. “It’s delicious though.”
Everyone nodded in agreement and Yelena finally gave a smile. Then she noticed Nat talking to you, telling you something that makes you laugh and Yelena’s frown was back. Everyone grabbed their snacks and moved to the living room. You sat in the middle of the long sofa, both ends open for Yelena to pick. You looked at Yelena expectantly, but when she saw Nat sit on one side of you, she went to go sit next to Jane.
Everyone looked at her oddly, but she ignored them. Darcy who usually sits with Jane joined you on the couch. You chose to watch a shark movie. You enjoyed the movie but you think you might have enjoyed it more if you weren’t thinking about Yelena and her odd behavior the whole time. The movie ended and Jane declared that the bathroom break.
You all decided to watch another movie. Seeing the spot beside Yelena empty, you traded places with Jane hoping she wouldn’t mind. Although, Yelena looked like she did.
“What are you doing?” she asked, unamused.
“I’m sitting next to you, like I always do,” you replied.
“You didn’t last movie night,” she recalled. You didn’t know what was going on. It felt like you were getting in trouble.
“Because your sister was sitting next to you. I wasn’t going to tell her to move,” you reasoned, but Yelena scoffed, muttering, “As if you didn’t enjoy sitting next to her. ‘Oh thanks for your arm.’”
She added an extra giggle in there as if that was what you did. You definitely did not do that. It seemed like Yelena was trying to argue with you and you weren’t having it.
“Okay, what is up with you?” you called her out. Scott sensed an argument about to go down and he escorted everyone out of the living room to let you have your privacy. “Why are you mad at me? What did I do?”
“Nothing. You didn’t do anything,” she grumbled.
“Well, you’re clearly upset about something and it seems to have to do something with me and your sister. Why do you keep bringing her up, asking me questions, and then getting upset when I answer them?” you asked for clarification.
“Do you like my sister?” she asked abruptly.
“What? No. Yelena, I talked to her like twice,” you denied, but she didn’t seem to buy it, asking why you were so cozy with her sister. You divulged that you hated scary movies and that at that moment, you would have been cozy with Mr. Coulson, your and Yelena’s English teacher.
“I wanted to sit with you but I wasn’t going to make Nat move. I didn’t want her to think I was rude,” you claimed.
“Why would you care if she thought you were rude?” Yelena countered.
“Because I want her to like me.”
“Why do you want her to like you if you say you don’t like her?” Yelena raised her voice.
“Because she’s your sister,” you argued, feeling a headache coming on.
“Why does that matter?”
“Because I like you!” you snapped. That got Yelena to pause. “I want her to like me because she’s your sister and if anything ever happened between us, it would be awkward if your sister didn’t like me.”
“You like me?” You nodded.
“Not Nat?” You shook your head.
“As pretty and cool as your sister is, you’re the one I want. You, not Nat,” you emphasized. Yelena was still in disbelief and finding no other way to say it, you kissed her taking her by surprise but she caught on quickly and kissed you back much to your relief. It would have been awkward if after all that she didn’t feel the same.
“Are you guys done arguing? Ope. Yep. Sorry,” Scott slapped his hands over his eyes. Yelena blushed at getting caught and you just smiled. You told Scott he could open his eyes. Once you reassured him that you were all good, he called everyone back into the living room to continue on with movie night.
Nat threw a smirk Yelena’s way when she saw you two holding hands. It’s a great thing Yelena has two hands. One to hold yours and the other to flip her sister off when no one else is looking.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~
"Pleeaasse, Wan" You pouted once again. You had been begging Wanda for the favour for an hour now; her stubborness was proving hard to overcome.
"I'm busy." Wanda said, her accent strong as she walked around her appartment to collect things for her next mission.
"But will you be busy on the 10th?" You asked from the couch where you watched her disappear into various rooms as she talked.
"I thought you said it was a few days." Wanda quipped, seemingly only giving you half her attention.
"It is." You confirmed with some hope.
"So I'd need to clear my schedule for more than just the 10th." You huffed and rested your head on the back of couch.
"Yes you would. I'm sure Natasha can manage without you for a few days."
"I wouldn't be too sure about that." She muttered.
"Please, Wan." You tried. "I need a win." Wanda stopped by the kitchen counter and gave you a long, considering look. You had long given up on your puppy dog eyes and instead copied her expression as you chewed on your bottom lip.
"I'll think about it." Wanda finally said before grabbing something from the cupboard. It was the best response you had gotten all night and you knew you wouldn't get anything more. So you accepted it and hoped for the best.
Your parents had invited you to their cabin for a few days just like they did every year. It was a beautiful place. You could spend your whole visit in the forest along the back. Or swimming in the clear lake that was a short walk away. The cabin itself was the cosiest place you had ever been and had been where some of your best memories had happened as a kid.
As you got older things changed. Being around your family, especially your parents, wasn't as enjoyable. They had high expectations for their children, expectations that your siblings had met without a problem but ones that you had struggled with. You enjoyed your life. You had the kind of relationships you had always hoped for, you loved your job and you had the perfect balance of the two. But you could never shake the feeling that you had failed.
Your brother was a surgeon who always told you all stories of the lives he saved and the close calls he had swooped in to save people from. One of your sisters was some hot shot lawyer who had done great things like help people wrongly convicted but still put dangerous people back on the street. And your other sister was the CEO of an energy company that you never quite understood. They even all had equally successful partners who loved to talk about themselves as much as your siblings did. You didn't have any of that. But you did have Wanda.
Knowing the Avengers was the only thing about you your family took interest in. They were always subtly hinting at wanting to meet your friends. But you knew the Avengers had to endure enough fan service and didn't want to push your family onto them, especially with how annoying they all were.
However as your family's unrealistic expectations reached their all time high you were sure you wouldn't be able to handle another trip with them without a win, and you were far too petty to take the moral high ground and just not go. Not to mention that was a huge part of you that was dying to see what the Wanda girlfriend experience would entail. Yep, that was what you were asking of Wanda. To pretend to be your partner for the duration of the trip.
You knew it wasn't a smart choice. That if Wanda agreed your crush on her could get out of hand. You knew you would end up getting too caught up in the act. You could have, no - should have - asked Natasha or Yelena or even Carol if she was around. But your family knew you were the closest with Wanda and she would be the one it felt the most natural with, and the most believable. At least, that was what you told Wanda.
"When are you going?" You asked, changing the subject in hopes that Wanda wouldn't suddenly conclude she didn't want to do it (then you really would have to ask one of the others).
"Tomorrow." She answered, keeping her focused tone.
"When will you be back?" You attempted to keep the concern out of your voice but the glance the redhead gave you told you you hadn't done a good job.
"The day after." She said, softer this time. You nodded as you looked down at your lap and tried not to think about everything that could possibly go wrong on her mission.
"Be safe." Wanda strolled over to you and placed her hand gently ontop of yours and gave it a quick squeeze.
"Always."
*
"Got any plans Saturday night?" Natasha smirked knowingly at her friend as they preped for their mission.
"No." Wanda replied as she adjusted her earpiece.
"Nothing with y/n then?" Nat asked, partly genuinely but mostly knowing Wanda would still say no.
"Nope." She said again, biting the inside of her cheek in consideration before speaking again. "Not this Saturday."
Natasha raised an eyebrow in surprise and interest. Wanda rarely made any kind of special plans with you as you would always hang out casual and it was never anything fancy or different. She had always wanted to though.
"Plans for another time?" Nat continued as she double checked her pack.
"Maybe, I'm still thinking about it." The redhead turned fully to her friend at her words, confused at why Wanda was hesitant to spend time with you. "She wants me to go to the cabin with her and her family." Nat had heard all about the infamous cabin and your family.
"That sounds fun." Nat nodded. The cabin sounded fun. Your family did not.
"As her girlfriend." Nat's eyes widened excitedly but before she could speak Wanda clarified. "Her pretend girlfriend."
Nat paused and looked as though she was going to speak for several seconds until she stuck to just giving a confused look.
"Yeah." Wanda sighed. "Thinks it would seem impressive." Wanda had tried not to be hurt over that. She knew you weren't just friends with her to show her off to people, because you never did. But it hurt her to think the only time you could see her in a romantic way was when you were pretending.
"Well," Nat muttered as she adjusted the zip along the front of her catsuit. "Fake it till you make it." It was Wanda's turn to give Nat a questioning look. "Maybe it'll be an eye opener for her."
"You think I should do it?" She asked, fully open to hearing and accepting her friend and mentor's advice in that area.
"Definelty." Nat confirmed. She wasn't sure about it for the reasons she said though. Wanda's crush on you was obvious to everyone except you, just as it was vice versa.
*
You had been overjoyed when Wanda told you she would come with you to the cabin and play along as your girlfriend. She had told you when she came back from her mission, in fact it was the first thing she said after she had let herself into your appartment. It was never really brought up after that, but you couldn't deny you were incredibly anxious on the week leading up to the visit.
On the drive up to the cabin you and Wanda stayed in a comfortable silence most of the time, clearly both lost in thought. You had the radio on for background noise more than anything else, but you would occasionally lightly tap the steering wheel if there was a tune you recognised, oblivious to Wanda's acknowledging smiles.
"So what's the plan?" Wanda asked as she looked at you expectantly. Right, of course the Avenger wanted a strategy.
"Keep things simple, I guess. They know how we met already so we can just say at some point we took things a step further than friendship." Wanda didn't seem convinced at the simplicity of that. "Look they're not going to want to hear about us, not much at least. They prefer the sound of their own voices, they'll be trying to impress you is all."
"Impress me?" Wanda asked.
"Yeah, hope you warm up to them so one day they can invite you to their snobby parties." Wanda chuckled her heart warming laugh as she glanced out of the window, knowing there was a lot of truth to what you said.
"And what are those like?" She enquired curiously.
"I wouldn't know, I've never been invited." You said simply. You had gotten over that a long time ago, gotten used to being forgotten. Wanda clearly hadn't though.
"It will be an honour to turn them down." Wanda said. You shook your head and smiled at her. That did sound pretty nice.
When the cabin came into sight between the trees your nerves spiked. You figited in your seat and bit your lip when you saw some of your family gathered outside, their attention instantly on you. You shot Wanda a quick smile which she returned before you got out of the car.
"Y/n! So nice of you to come." You mum said as her eyes flickered to Wanda more than you. She opened her arms for the shortiest hug in human history before turning to Wanda. "You must be Wanda, we've heard so much." You mum insisted as she brought the redhead in for a hug too. She raised her eyebrows at you over your mum's shoulder and you bite back a laugh.
The others came over to greet you and mainly Wanda in a rush, overwhelming both of you.
"You two will be in the upstairs bedroom on the left." Your mum told you as you went to grab your bags. You did a double take, convinced you had heard her wrong. That was the best room in the house. A big difference from being in the small room in the basement every other time you had been there.
"First one on the left." Your dad confirmed. There was no way your parents were going to be in the basement so you wondered who else had been moved around but didn't ask, knowing whoever it was wasn't going to be happy.
You and Wanda made your way up to the room and you couldn't help but smile at the sight of the spacious room and the door you knew led to your en suite.
"That was...a lot." Wanda summarised as she said her bag under the bed.
"I would tell you it gets better but I don't want to get your hopes up." You sighed as you got a couple of things out.
"It's just a few days." Wanda said despite the fact you should have been assuring her.
"Yeah." You nodded and stared down at the floor. "Now c'mon." You suddenly said as you took ahold of Wanda's hand and laced your fingers together. You missed the startled blush that crept onto her cheeks when you turned around.
Your family were sat outside whispering amongst themselves when you returned. Their interested gaze fell to your entwined hands in an instant.
"So you work with the Avengers?" Your brother, Dalton, said as soon as you both sat down.
"I do, I'm one myself." Wanda said as she continued to hold onto your hand.
"Must be crazy, what are they like?" He enquired.
"They're good." Wanda said simply. Everyone clearly expected something more but Wanda pretended not to notice making you smile.
"I almost did business with Stark once, decided against it in the end." Claire announced proudly. You and Wanda exchanged knowing glances. Stark had told you all about his encounter with your sister, it definetly wasn't her turning him down.
"I was invited to one of his parties." Anna said quickly. "I was busy that night unfortunately."
Bull. Shit.
"Yes I remember working with Doctor Strange when he was still in the medical profession." You gave Wanda an I-told-you-so look as your family erupted into conversation over who had the most contact with the heroes. That had to be a new record of how quickly they started talking about themselves.
They continued like that until your mum called everyone in for dinner. The food smelt undeniably amazing as you took your place at the table next to Wanda and eyed the dishes infront of you. Your parents efforts to impress the redhead weren't all that bad.
Your family continued to catch up and and you and Wanda half listened as you ate. They were all doing as well for themselves as ever and still hadn't learnt any modesty.
Although you were proud of your siblings for what they had all achieved, Wanda had contained four potentially devastating bombs from going off in the space of half an hour a week before but she wasn't going to bring that up anytime soon. Eventually though, the attention turned to you to bring you out of your silence.
"And you're still working in that little café, y/n?" Your mum asked curiously.
"I own it, mum." You corrected quietly as you stabbed some pieces on your plate.
"Ah yes, quite the contrast though, isn't it. Between you two." She said as she pointed at you and Wanda with her fork. You didn't say anything to that because you felt there really wasn't anything to say in response. It wasn't like you hadn't thought that exact thing every now and then.
"The team loves it." Wanda said suddenly making everyone, including you, look at her in slight surprise from speaking up. It hadn't taken your family long to learn Wabda wasn't much of a talker, not to them anyway. You couldn't get her to shut up half the time. "At least one of us goes everyday. If we're lucky we all can. Nothing beats it." She defended simply before turning back to her food to show she wasn't going to say anymore. You smiled down at your plate at her words and the truth of them.
No one said anything in response, clearly shocked from this new information until Dalton spoke up.
"But doesn't Stark like fancy, top of the line, restaurants? I can't imagine him in some random coffee shop, no offence sis." He nodded towards you though you knew he didn't mean it. He couldn't let you have just one win.
"That random coffee shop has catered some of Stark's parties. Not that many though." A smug smile crept onto Dalton's face as he opened his mouth to make a snarky remark but Wanda cut him down again. "Because y/n's invited to the rest as a guest and a close friend." Your family stared at you with open mouths.
"You've been invited to Stark's parties?!" Anna exclaimed. In your defence, your family never wanted to hear about your life so you never got the chance to tell them anything.
"It's not really my crowd." You shrugged. "I just go to hang out with them after." Dalton's jaw clenched in annoyance and he didn't say anything for the rest of dinner. It was only really your mum who kept talking. Telling everyone about her latest travels that fell on death ears.
It was certainly a first for your family.
When everyone had finished their food you and Wanda excused yourselves and said goodnight before retiring to your room. Wanda shut the door gently as you collapsed onto the bed on your back and glared at the ceiling. The redhead shuffled around quietly to get her toothbrush and toothpaste and some other things you weren't really paying attention to and went into the bathroom.
When she came back out she was in her bedclothes and lifted your feet off the floor to turn you so you could fully lay on the bed. You smiled at her weakly.
"You should go get changed." Wanda said as she got her laptop out her bag. "Then you can pick a movie." She announced when she had gotten under the covers and started her laptop. You smiled more and nodded.
You tried not to think about your family and everything they had said at dinner as you got changed but it proved difficult. Everything they had said echoed around in your head but most of all you couldn't shake the disregarding ways they said it. It was as though you could do no right with them. Maybe they would never be proud no matter what you did.
You placed your toothbrush back I'm the holder and rinsed your mouth before heading back into the bedroom to an awaiting Wanda.
You got under the covers next to her and rested your head on her shoulder as you glanced at the Netflix screen and pointed to one of the comedy movies.
About ten minutes into the movie Wanda spoke. "You okay?" She whispered as she continued to look at the screen although that wasn't where her focus was.
"Yeah." You whispered back.
"You can talk to me." She said after a second." You moved your head away so you could see Wanda clearly.
"I'm so glad you're here." You said honestly. She smiled and nodded as her eyes searched yours.
"I'm glad I'm here too." You knew Wanda wasn't glad she had to spend the time with your family. She was glad that she could support you despite their efforts to bring you down. You were incredibly lucky to have her.
You rested your head back on her shoulder and neither of you spoke for the rest of the movie. Or the rest of the night. You must have fallen asleep about half an hour in.
*
Wanda was one of the most intimate people you had ever met. It was mainly something she aimed towards you and Natasha but didn't refrain from comforting others and giving hugs to anyone who would take one. She never held back at all with you, as far as you knew. But when you woke up and couldn't tell where your limbs started and Wanda's ended, you were still surprised to find yourselves like that. Butterflies flew around in your stomach in a way you knew was dangerous but couldn't help but love.
You were resting your head on her rising chest and had your arm slung across her stomach. Your legs were tangled together and her arms were holding onto your waist. A warmth spread through you and you decided to settle back into her hold and closed your eyes with a content smile.
You had about ten minutes to enjoy that before Wanda woke up. You could feel the moment she realized you were so close, she physically froze. You waited in anticipation for something for several moments until your friend very slowly unhooked her legs and guided your body to lay against the mattress and pillows as she slipped out of bed towards the bathroom.
You sighed when you heard the door close and rubbed your eyes slowly, knowing you should get up but wishing more than anything that you could return to how you woke up.
"Morning." Wanda croaked when she left the bathroom and saw you sitting up in bed.
"Morning." You said back with a smile and tried not to focus on how ridiculously attractive her voice sounded.
You gathered some random clothes into a bundle and went into the bathroom to change again and brush your teeth. When you came out Wanda was pulling her shirt over her head and gave you a generous view of her toned stomach. That training with Natasha really was paying off. Your face heated up when you saw it and you turned away to pretend you hadn't seen when Wanda noticed you.
"Don't make a sound." Wanda warned. You glanced up at her with some confusion. "I don't think your family's awake yet, that means we get the kitchen to ourselves." She grinned and you did too.
You and Wanda had gotten so used to getting up early for your jobs you forgot other people would still be sleeping. It was hard to break out of the habit but it proved useful.
The pair of you made a quick breakfast and ate it outside thanks to the warm weather even at that time. But soon enough your parents came downstairs and ruined the peaceful atmosphere with the clanging of pots and loud convosations.
You wandered around the side of the house and saw the old table tennis table that bad been folded away years ago and hadn't been set up since. You went over and started setting it up when Wanda joined you and eyed the table with a glimmer of mischief.
The redhead wasn't all that competitive, in fact you were pretty sure she let other people win games on the regular to make them feel better about themselves. But there was an undeniable spark of mischief in her eyes when she saw the table.
"You played this before?" You asked convosationally.
"I have." She said as you both automatically took up your positions of opposite ends of the table.
"Me too." You said confidently. "A lot." Wanda hummed in acknowledgment and swivelled her bat in her hand and stood ready. You smiled at her seriousness for the game.
You served surprisingly well for someone who hadn't played in a few years and Wanda was able to hit it back with ease. Once you had developed a steady pace you started hitting the ball more daringly to Wanda who was caught off guard before she started doing the same.
The moment you missed the ball a small smile tugged at the corner of Wanda's lips, her celebration was short lived when you suddenly sent the ball back her way until it was too late.
"That wasn't fair!" She exclaimed childishly.
"That was tables tennis." You said seriously but started smiling again.
Wanda huffed dramatically and flipped you off as she trudged back to the table and served the ball with force. You managed to send it back but took a step away from the table in caution.
You continued like that for a while. The competition tension rising as you picked up the pace, one of you occasionally getting a point before the other evened it out.
At one point you were vaguely aware of Dalton sauntering over to see what you were doing and arched his brow at the sight of the table.
"We still have this thing?" He questioned and you hummed quietly in response, too focused on the game.
"Hey Claire! Get over here, we're playing table tennis." You rolled your eyes at the intrusive and could sense Wanda refraining from doing the same until an idea popped into your head.
You caught the ball in your hand and smiled at Wanda's protests as you moved round to her side of the table just as your sister came out.
"I didn't even know we still had this." Claire laughed as she picked up another bat from the box.
"Maybe we should take it back with us." Wanda whispered to you and you bit your lip to contain your smile because yes, yes you should.
Inevitably, your siblings sucked at table tennis. You had suspected as much you just never thought they would be as bad as they were. They missed almost every hit and everytime they did they got increasingly angry, which meant they ended up flaring their arms around like idiots. It was a memory you would be sure to treasure.
"Stupid game" and "probably broken" kept echoing across the table until your siblings finally stormed off to throw a tantrum.
The rest of the day went by quietly. You and Wanda sat by the lake for most of the afternoon to enjoy the sun and heat. You reveled in the most recent memories of your siblings embarrassment and had to keep hushing down to childish whispered whenever one of them was nearby.
Surprisingly, dinner went by peacefully too.
You weren't asked anymore questions at the table. Instead, your family were content with talking about their upcoming plans between stealing glances at you and Wanda that the redhead never failed to notice.
The pair of you slipped off to your room the first moment you got and easily fell into bed besides one another. Wanda picked out a DVD from her bag of an old Sokovian show she used to watch as a child and had you hooked on as well as teaching you the language.
She settled down beside you and within the first few scenes she wrapped an arm around your shoulder so you could sink into her further like she did sometimes when you watched things together. You were barely paying attention to the series after that.
Despite trying to keep your focus on understanding what was happening in scenes of the show, you couldn't help but want to melt under the warmth of your best friend. You hoped it was something you got to experience more, you felt safer than you ever had in Wanda's arms.
Little did you know that having you in her arms was the most comforting feeling Wanda ever experienced and she always tried to do it as little as possible to refrain from falling for you more. It never worked.
*
You had thought waking up in Wanda's arms the morning before had been the best thing to awake to. But that day when you woke up not only were your legs tangled together again but the redhead was slowly stroking your hair while your head rested on her chest.
It was a gradual gesture that maintained a perfect rhythm and made you want to fall back asleep. But you were afraid you would mistake it for a dream later on. No, it was definitely real.
Luckily, your head was already tilted upwards slightly so when you secretly opened your eyes to risk a peek at your friend you saw her staring out the window as though she was in a trance. She was clearly so deep in thought she hadn't noticed you wake up, you had never seen her like it. But the feeling was too good to ignore, too compelling.
Soon enough, you found yourself drifting off back to sleep.
*
When you woke up again Wanda was gone. Her absence left an emptiness you knew wasn't good for you. As the days of your visit went on your fake relationship with Wanda was going to effect you even more when it was over.
Over...you couldn't think about that.
Once you got up and got changed you found Wanda in the kitchen looking at the news on her phone as she sipped her coffee.
"Morning, honey." You grinned. Wanda blushed slightly into her coffee, something you thought was undeniably adorable.
"Morning yourself." She tried to play off smoothly making you grin more.
You made breakfast for you both just as your mum came into the kitchen and greeted you both with an overplayed smile, already talking to Wanda about an upcoming party that she should go to. Wanda mumbled something about a busy schedule as you managed to whisp her away outside with your food.
Eventually, you and Wanda became bored with sitting around in the house when you had such amazing surroundings on your doorstep. You declared that you were going on a walk with the redhead and left before any of your family could invite themselves to go with you. Especially as you had told your friend to wear her swimwear underneath her clothing as you had a surprise for her.
You made a point of holding Wanda's hand as you left and once you were far away from the house went to take it back only for her to hold on tighter.
"You never know where they could be lurking." She joked as an excuse, so you starting swinging your arms playfully as to assure her you wanted your hands to stay linked together too.
You spent hours in those woods and was thankful for having a spy best friend who of course knew to pack the essentials like food and drinks so you could stay away from the house as long as you wanted.
The redhead brought so much you were able to have a small picnic on top of a hill that overlooked the large lake that stretched out all the way back to the house. You remembered thinking up stories as to explain the strange shape and curves to it as a child.
"It's beautiful here." Wanda said as she picked some grapes from the bunch between you.
"It is." You agreed with a fond smile.
"I used to want to live in a place like this." She muttered, sparking your interest.
"In the woods?" You asked curiously and she nodded.
"I thought I could retire to the woods and get a small cabin and I could grow my own food and that was all I needed." You hummed with a smile as you studied Wanda's features.
"Sounds lonely." You thought aloud.
"I'd have a cat." She said simply making you laugh. "I never used to think that but now when it crosses my mind and I picture that life... I picture someone else there with me." You knew she was imagining it as she spoke and you wished you could see exactly what it was she wanted.
"We could always downgrade the holiday house." You half joked as you nodded in the vague direction of the house. "Make it a simple cabin."
"We?" Wanda asked hopefully, the emotion clear before she had a chance to conceal it.
"There's no one I'd rather run away and live in the forest with." You joked although there was a lot of truth to your words. The redhead considered you for a while before smiling and nodded as though she had reached her own internal conclusion.
"Come on." You said suddenly as you stood up and dusted yourself off.
"You want to go back?" Wanda asked and you grinned.
"I'm going to show you that surprise." You declared and packed the remaining food away. Wanda did the same, eager to see the surprise you kept secret the whole way.
It was quite a way back to the house. The whole time Wanda kept asking more questions about it but you wouldn't say. She could only make guesses based on the swim wear which should have left only a few options, non of which she got right.
Finally, you arrived where you wanted to and grinned at Wabda before starting towards the edge. The redhead frowned as she watched you approach the ledge and became worried when she invisioned the steep slope that didn't always lead to water straight down. If you were to fall... your friend didn't have to wait long to see that. You slipped along the edge and disappeared from her view as she gave a startled cry and sprinted towards the edge and knelt over with wide eyes, expecting to see something that could haunt her forever but instead she saw you on a wide ledge but seven feet below her.
To your left was part of the ledge that had been dug into randomly and acted as perfect aid to get back into the woods above.
"Come down here." You beckoned as you starter to take your top off. Wanda's eyes widened more and quickly turned around and dropped down next to you steadily.
She glanced over the side of the small ledge to glance at the fifty foot drop into the water. There was nothing in the way to fall onto but there was no telling how deep that water was.
"You can't go in like that." You laughed as you kicked off your shorts and pushed them to the side.
Wanda's face heated up at the sight of you in your y/f/c bikini as you assessed the view. But even in her flustered state she was able to put it all together.
"You want to jump down there?" She exclaimed making you laugh.
"I've done it tones of times." You assured. "It's fun."
"It's a death wish! What if the waters not deep enough?" She questioned making you laugh more.
"Are you scared, Wan?" You teased as you took a step towards her making her avert her eyes from your form. She scoffed to play it off.
"Of course not." You hummed in faux belief.
"Well then I'll see you down there." You grinned and took a couple of steps back until your feet were no longer on the platform and you were plummeting down towards the water where you landed with a splash.
Wanda held her breath as she waited for you to resurface for a few agonising seconds. When you did with a gasp and started kicking around frantically to keep yourself afloat with your built up adrenaline the redhead sighed in relief and started taking off her own shorts and shirt and placed them next to your things.
You've jumped from higher. She told herself as she rocked on her feet. And you have powers! She argued back before she shoved those thoughts aside and threw herself off the ledge and into the water below. You laughed as she came back up and pushed her hair away from her way. You swam closer to her and saw her wide smile.
"Fuck." Wanda whispered with a laugh as she looked back up from where you had both come.
"Told you it was fun." You teased as you tried not to focus on the low cut on her bikini bra.
"Yeah yeah." She laughed and paused when she looked past you and saw you were surprisingly close to the house. She could see the outline of your family sat outside.
"They're looking." Wanda muttered. You could tell by the look on her face who she was talking about. It wasn't like there was anyone else around either.
"Do you think they've caught on?" You asked nervously as you stared at Wanda's brown eyes to stop you looking at your family.
"Maybe..." She considered and glanced around. "It's not like we've been acting like that much of a couple." You scoffed at that.
"At home everyone assumes we're dating and the one time we need it be believable it isn't." You rolled your eyes but couldn't help the smile.
"I know." Wanda laughed for a second but then paused. "Then let's give them something believable." She gently placed both her hands on your waist and pulled you slowly towards her. You let her guide you and took extra notice of the water droplets across her face. You almost trembled when your bare stomachs pressed together in the water lightly.
Wanda's soft hands left your waist and gripped your thighs to pull you up to wrap your legs around her own waist. You couldn't help but giggle at the gesture as you wrapped your arms around the redhead's neck and held onto her waist with your legs in a lock.
"Can I?" Wanda whispered when she lifted your chin with her finger and her other hand came round the back of your neck.
"Just shut up and kiss me." You demanded with a playful smile and leaned in to do it yourself.
You smiled into the kiss and felt Wanda do the same. It was everything you had ever imagined it to be. Her lips were soft and fell into place perfectly against your own as they moved together. Your mind was hazey and your stomach was doing flips at the realisation that you were actually kissing your long time crush. You forced yourself to remember that it was all a show. That Wanda didn't mean it. But she put on a believable act and kissed passionately, even slipping her tongue through your parter lips to explore your mouth further.
When she eventually pulled away you rested your foreheads together to catch your breath and grinned as you closed your eyes.
"You're a really good kisser." You blurted out making Wanda chuckle.
"Not too bad yourself." She teased.
"I hope not, we're gonna have to do that again." You smiled and instantly realized that sounded like a confession you desperetly wished you could claim. "You know because...Once probably wasn't enough to make it entirely believable." You rambled and Wanda nodded somewhat stiffly and let your legs drop back down. You wanted to say something to her, anything but it was all stuck on the tip of your tongue.
Just as you opened your mouth to speak, a small murmurarion of starlings flew across the lake, some of them skimming the water then gaining height again as they got closer to you and Wanda. You both ducked instinctively as they flew over your heads and off towards the forest again as you watched them in awe until they disappeared. You glanced up at the sky and noticed the sun had gone behind a cloud, ableing you to continue looking up at the other birds higher up.
You kicked your legs up slightly so you could lay on your back and outstretch your arms to keep you afloat in the water so you could stare up at the sky without hurting your neck.
You didn't realise Wanda mimicked you until her hands brushed against yours. She withdrew it as soon as you touched and went to murmmer an apology but you smiled and held onto her hand as you both lay watching the birds.
Neither of you had to say anything. It was a comfortable and peaceful silence that was occasionally filled with birds chirping or the sound of a calm breeze. Of all the things you expected to feel on that trip, relaxed was not one of them.
You stayed like that for a while until you were both snapped out of your daydreams by the distant yell that declared dinner. Well, you had to go back to them eventually.
Both of you took your time swimming back to dry land and only felt a shiver when you left the water and the breeze hit you. Wanda spotted and reached the towels before you and wrapped yours around you tightly. You thanked her with a small blush as you both sauntered up to the house where the mouthwatering smell of a barbecue greeted you. Your dad was leaning over it while shooing your brother away as he tried to offer his 'help'.
You and Wanda went inside to change swiftly and came back outside as the food was being placed on plates and your mum finished setting up the buffet. Everyone starter helping themselves and you piled as much food as you could onto the plate. You parents had asked what food Wanda liked and when you gave them a brief list you added in a few things you knew you both loved.
"You gonna eat all that?" Anna asked as she eyed all the food on your plate. Guilt and insecurities washed over you until Wanda purposefully grabbed a large handful of small sausage rolls and put them on her plate that was piled with a considerable amount more food than your own. You smiled at the reassuring gesture as she sat down with a satisfied grin on her face when she saw Anna close her mouth to stay quiet.
"Thanks." You whispered to her as you sat down.
"If you don't eat all that I will." She declared. You were pretty sure she went back for seconds.
Instead of disappearing back to your room like you did the previous nights, you and Wanda stayed with your family for a while after dinner. It wasn't to do with their company, more the mesmerising fire in the firepit you all sat around. You were cuddled up into Wanda's side with a blanket over both of you as you stared at the flames, smiling at their small flickers and dances.
"So Wanda," one of your sisters began, "are any of the other Avengers...you know." She nodded her head in the direction of you both.
Oh boy you though.
"I don't think it's my place to say." Wanda said because yes, a lot of the Avengers were queer.
"Oh come on, you can tell us." Anna encouraged as she sat forward eagerly.
"I could, but I'm not going to." Wanda continued to defy.
"Lay off it guys." You mumbled but was ignored. Your family took it in turns saying her teammates names in hopes of sparking a reaction, clearly forgetting they were facing someone who had been trained by Natasha Romanoff.
"Stark!" Claire said but was instantly shut down by the others.
"He's married!" Dalton objected.
"Could still be bi though." Claire tried but Dalton just scoffed.
"I suppose there's going to be more surprises."
"What does that mean?" Wanda asked with narrowed eyes, feeling protective of her teammates. Dalton met her gaze with his own challenging one.
"I just never thought one of the Avengers would be a dyke." You felt Wanda stiffen as you all held your breath. There was no way to tell what was going through the redhead's mind, especially as after all those years of friendship you still didn't even know what team she batted for. She was an ally at least, but would she see this as her battle to fight?
Upon getting no reaction, Dalton continued. "It makes sense why you'd hang out with y/n though, we always knew something was wrong with her but-"
"That's enough." Your mum snapped with a guilty expression she failed to mask. You swallowed hard and moved to get up, deciding you had heard enough.
"Then you're idiots." Wanda stated as she glared daggers at your brother while you sunk down.
"I'll have you know I have a doctorate-"
"Your idiots." She repeated. "There's nothing wrong with y/n, which is impressive considering she's grown up around you lot." You looked at your friend in awe as she continued.
"She's the most amazing person I've ever known, including any of the Avengers. She's everything that you're not and I'm lucky to call her my girlfriend. It doesn't matter what any of you think of her, I love her and I always will." She declared as shot daggers at each individual family member who had fallen silent. She took your hand and pulled you up from your seat to take you inside.
You couldn't get her saying she loved you out of your head. You reminded yourself over and over again on the way to your room that it was just an act. That the redhead was making her point. But God, how you wished it was real.
She was so gentle with you as she guided you through the house. When you got to your room and broke down sobbing she held you on the bed for a long time until your cries turned to sniffles. The thing was, you weren't sure what you were crying over. Sure, what Dalton had said had hurt. As did the confirmation that your whole family had always looked down on you. But you had known that was the case for a long time, you had moved on from it.
Instead, you may have being crying over what you didn't know and didn't have. How much of what Wanda said was true? It was all based off of something that wasn't real. What if she saw you the same way your family did?
When you stopped crying you became aware of Wanda gently stroking your hair as she rested her head on yours and held you close to her. You remembered the memories you had accumulated over the past few days with her. The kisses, the hand holding, the nights together, how she stood up for you like no one ever had. You loved her so much.
"I think we should go tomorrow." Wanda mumbled and you nodded into her shoulder.
"I'm not going to leave you though, you know that right? You can stay at mine and we'll watch more of those crappy American movies you like." She mocked lightly making you chuckle against her. "Whatever you want."
"I just want you." You said honestly. You knew you shouldn't have said that, but you were too emotionally drained to care.
"I just want you too, y/n." You pulled away from the redhead to look at her clearly.
"I don't think you know what I mean." You sniffed and she smiled at you fondly.
"I mean what I said earlier, around the fire." Your eyes widened slightly and you held your breath.
"It was all an act though." You whispered and Wanda chuckled as she exhaled sharply.
"No y/n." "I think I am inlove with you." She said as she took ahold of your hand and searched your face for any signs of a reaction to her confession.
"Me?" You questioned, not quite believing it.
"Yes you, idiot." You smiled and sighed in relief, not being able to find the words to express your overflowing happiness and numerous other emotions you couldn't quite pinpoint. You let go of Wanda's hand and brought them both up to cup her cheeks. You had done a lot more handholding than kissing in the previous few days. It needed to be evened out.
You closed the gap between you and kissed Wanda with just as much passion as you had in the lake, except all hesitation and questions were gone. Because you knew she loved you. Oh God she loved you. You grinned into the kiss at the thought and felt her hand fall to your hip while the other caressed the side of your neck in the most gentle manner you had ever seen from her.
When you eventually pulled away you rested your forehead against hers, a smile still playing on both your lips.
"Told you we'd have to do that again." You said and and laughed. "I love you too."
"Well I hoped that wasn't a pity kiss." She joked and you smacked her arm playfully.
"It definetly was not and I'll prove it to you by taking you on a date when we get back." You promised as you sat back to look at her clearly.
"Oh yeah?" She asked with a playful smirk and leaned over so her face was inches away from yours.
"Yeah." You said back.
"Well until then, my real girlfriend should definetly just keep kissing me." She said as she pushed you down gently and kissed you again. You smiled against her gleefully.
"Your girlfriend would love to."

𝐚/𝐧: this my contribution to rindoux’s collab! congrats on 1k and I hope you guys like this <3 (their other account is @rinslutz please support them!)
oikawa tooru, the great king, the best setter, a lot of titles he has achieved as he grew as a person, but to you, he was just tooru.
the idiot who mixed salt and sugar and ended up with a salty cream caramel, the emotional guy who couldn’t help but cry when he saw that one video of a dog crying for his owner, and the boy who you spent all your childhood with.
he was your childhood best friend, someone you could rely on any time and every day. he never let you down and even in the moments when he was caught in his mind and thoughts, he never forgot about you or iwaizumi.
you three are an inseparable trio, but what happens when one of you catches feelings for the other?
you never gave too much thought at the beginning, dismissing it for a puppy crush. you would get over it for sure; however, the man in question had other plans for you.
kindergarten, elementary, middle school and now high school, you were together. you saw him gain and lose, you saw him in his ups and downs; and you saw him every time a girl entered his life to be with him.
and who’s the best person to go for advice about how to ask a girl out but you?
“y/n! y/n! y/NNNNNNNNNNN-CHANNNNNNNN!”
you heard a long screech, knowing well whom it belonged to you opened the window aggressively before looking down “IT’S 3 FUCKING AM! WHAT THE HELL DO YOU WANT?”
he pouted before making his way up your house to the window and coming in with no invite. a few moments pass by and you two are still glaring at each other before he breaks it off with a groan “ugh, i need your help with something.”
you tilt your head “what do you urgently need my help in that you couldn’t wait for like 4 more hours?”
his gaze falters as he looks down trying to form the words to ask you correctly “you see, there is this girl…” and your heart drops.
ignoring the ache in your chest you urge him to continue, and he does so, but the more he talks the more you notice the redness adorning his cheeks “i really like her, she is really nice, supportive, and overall really understanding of what I do.”
normally you would start teasing him about being so shy and blushing, but you couldn’t gather the courage to even speak, and he takes it as a sign to speak even further “i was wondering if you could perhaps—help me confess to…her?” he ends it while he is looking you in the eyes, his own full of hope and the hint of determination you always loved about him.
“can you tell me who she is? maybe, i could tell you how exactly to woo her?”
when he finally heard your voice, he lights up and a appears on his face that reaches his eyes “oh it’s miwa! from 3-C! she is so funny and no matter what attracts all the attention to her! she is hard to miss, but despite all of that she is humble, sweet and ahhh! i am rambling—anyways, considering, how you are my best friend, and a girl, that is still my best friend, i wanted you to guide me, oh dear goddess y/n!” he claps his hands in a plea position before laughing when he sees you roll your eyes.
you personally can’t tell if the eye roll is at his antics or at how you are feeling. shouldn’t you be happy?
he finally found someone like the ones he dreams about and read about in the stories.
you remember it vividly ‘oh iwa, y/n, i really want a girl who will just whisk me off my feet and just make me feel so giddy and in love, you know? and I want to make her feel the same thing, maybe even more! BUT she has to be supportive of my volleyball career or I will just abandon love as a whole.’ —
“y/n? you still here with me?” he waves his hand in front of your face before bonking you gently “i am laying my heart out about the person I like and you zone out like that? i am hurt!” he dramatically places his hand on his heart before you laugh lightly.
“just be straight forward tooru, bring her some flowers and a gift you know she would like personally; either that, or you will keep watching her from afar and may never get her.”
he jumps in enthusiasm and chanting a loud ‘okay!’ you giggle at his antics before patting his shoulder “now get out because i need to sleep.”
he does a full 180 with his mood and pouts with puppy eyes all for the sole of breaking your resolve “but it’s so lateeee! can’t i just stay over? i will even do the dishes in the morning I swear!”
you groan, totally giving up on the argument before making it to your bed “whatever…”
you get in the comfort of your bed before finally closing your eyes and letting out a sigh you didn’t realize you were holding.
slowly, you were drifting to sleep, but then the bed dipped and you felt a presence behind you “tooru tell me that you are not sleeping beside me.”
“i am not sleeping beside you.”
“then why are you beside me?”
“to sleep.”
you hear a small laugh escape his lips before you protest “get off! you can’t sleep here.”
the latter just yawns and covers his eyes “what’s the problem with it? we are best friends, aren’t we?” for some reason, now the title brings melancholy to your heart instead of joy.
“yeah, best friends, just don’t wet the bed.”
“IT ONLY HAPPENED ONCE! HOW DARE YOU BRING UP MY DARK DAYS?!”
and since that, three weeks have passed by and now instead of a bustling tooru who had stars in eyes and the giddiness of love in his tone, stood before you a boy that knows nothing but tears and the need to have someone to hold.
“she broke up with me, because she thought that i am too ‘distant’ apparently.”
confusion hits you, what? he was anything but. you saw him be with her at every chance he got, and tried his best to show her just how much he liked her.
it hurts, to think that all his efforts are to no avail: kind of reminds of yourself in some aspects, but still, you ignore your thoughts and hold him, trying your best to comfort him, “it’s okay, tooru. she was blinded by something else. most of us don’t realize the value of something unless we lose it.”
he grips the back of your shirt tightly as he buries his face in your your shoulder, “but I tried really hard this time, do they just get with me for the attention of others?”
you sigh, “all I can tell you is: those who don’t give you time aren’t worth your tears. yes it hurts, it’s inevitable, but you need to understand that if they aren’t trying then you shouldn’t blame it all on yourself.”
you feel him nod gently and silence then fills the room.
his hold on you tightens before he finally speaks up, “thank you for always being there for me— I don’t know what I would’ve done if you weren’t with me.”
you give him the best smile you could muster and say, barely above a whisper, “I am your best friend, of course I will be here.”
he returns your smile and chuckles quietly “what do you want to do now?”
you ponder for a moment before answering “we could play uno.”
“absolutely not.”
you whine and he can’t help but laugh at your antics. you always knew how to make him smile.
since then, oikawa was more set on his volleyball career and decided to let love and all that dating jazz come naturally instead of him chasing after it.
now, he was chasing after something a lot bigger; he wants to be a professional, he wants to travel; he wants to show the world and soar in the skies, and you can’t do anything but watch from the sidelines as the boy from your childhood passionately runs after what he wants to achieve so badly.
you are happy for him, you really are, but what will happen later on? will a distance form? will he forget about all that happened to build a new him?
all your thoughts are shut down as you hear a knock on the door of your room and suddenly a beaming figure appears in front of you “I GOT SNACKS—why are you crying?”
confusion paints your face as your hand reaches for your cheek and you feel its wetness, your eyes widen slightly, you are indeed crying. “oh poor girl, you didn’t even notice? what has you so caught up in your mind?”
you shake your head to ignore him, but he, being as stubborn as he is, asks you again “y/n, we are best friends; you need to tell me when something is bothering so I can see if I can help and even if I can’t, can you at least let me be there for you?”
your chest tightens so you look away and all he can do is sigh and wonder, why have you been keeping to yourself a lot lately?
did he do something? he puts the snacks aside and walks to your side “can I at least hug you?” his voice barely above a whisper and sounding hurt yet soft.
you can only nod silently before he wraps his around you and pats your back tenderly “you know I care about you, right?”
you nod again; however, nothing happens after that and your week goes on.
“what?!” you couldn’t help but shout out, considering the news you were just told, but oikawa repeats himself, “I am moving out to argentina.”
iwaizumi sighs with a heavy chest, “heard ya the first time.”
meanwhile, oikawa looks at you, waiting for any other response or reaction.
the room is silent, he notices that has been happening a lot lately, and it’s not the good silence he usually shared with you.
“I am happy for you.” you say carefully.
he tries really hard to smile but it doesn’t reach his eyes like it normally does, “thank you…I am planning to go right after high school so I can have time to adjust and stuff—I won’t forget about you two I swear, and I will keep in touch.”
iwaizumi nods with an understanding smile gracing his lips, because despite the scoldings he throws his way: iwaizumi cares about his best friend more than the world can imagine.
“so after two weeks from now? your parents approved right?” you speak again.
he only nods “I will miss you two, but—“ he stands up with his fist held up high “I will make you feel like I never left!”
that gets a laugh out of the three of you despite the gloom in your hearts.
this idiot spreads happiness like that.
a week is left, and a week has passed. you both carry on with your lives like you won’t be separated after a while, and who knows if it’s forever or not.
you spent some time thinking with yourself about what to do, do you let him go without finalizing how you feel about him?
or do you just gather up your courage and risk it all for closure or maybe even a chance?
“y/n, it’s now or never. come on, it hurts seeing you so conflicted all the time.” you gaze at your best friend, iwaizumi, who has been your partner through the voyage of figuring out your feelings.
you nod and then he speaks up “okay! you better not cry or i will kill both of you.”
you chuckle lightly “why?”
he raises his eyebrow before answering your question “you, for letting a boy make you cry because they aren’t worth it, and him, for not making it easier for you to get over him.”
you hug him before mumbling “it isn’t his fault; he is naturally sweet like that.”
another sigh escapes his lips, and all he can do is pray that you would be alright. “but, iwa’ you are a boy yourself.”
“get off me you ungrateful child.”
later on, you called oikawa and told him to meet you on the roof of the building you always sneaked into.
you went there a bit early, and to your surprise, oikawa was there too.
he looked like an angel under the stars like this; he really shined brighter than those around him.
the small sound of your footsteps made his ears perk up and his head whip towards your direction, a big smile on his face as he calls out your name with fondness, “y/n! you are here early, too?” you nodded slowly before seating yourself next to him.
he swings his feet gently before striking up a question “um—are you okay? what did you want to talk about?”
your throat feels dry and you feel a lump that stops you from saying anything, the only thing you can hear is a gentle voice calling out your name again.
“tooru—“ he sits straight “promise me that what we have won’t be affected by what I will tell you.”
his eyebrows furrow and fear can’t help but take over his heart, just what will you say?
“I think, tooru, I think that I am in love you. I would’ve said like, but it’s been going on for so long that it can’t be just that anymore.”
you can only hear the barely audible sound of the night, and for once you wanted the silence to be filled by anything but his voice “y/n, I am sorry I didn’t notice.”
hope, a spark of hope was ignited in you because of your past interactions. sometimes, you felt you were treated differently, with more care or love.
could it have meant something else? “you are a wonderful person, I always admired you.” you hum and he continues “but when I say I love you to you, it’s always the platonic I love you and the one I save for my best friends.”
tears silently brim in your eyes and he notices, his hand reaches out to you, but he hesitates and instead places it beside him.
“I understand— thank you for um— coming up here.”
he fidgets with his hand, at loss, what can he do to make this easier for you?
“tooru, can you promise me something?”
he laughs lightly trying to brighten up the mood, “that’s two promises today.”
you smile gently, “this will be a pinky promise.”
he rolls his eyes, but gladly obliges “oikawa tooru, you better soar in the sky and give no room for anyone else, but yourself. and by that I mean, take care of your health, you stupid idiot of a guy.”
a pout appears on his pretty face and he mumbles out a small, “rude.”
this was oikawa, an idiot who made others smile, a boy that cries because it’s not something to be ashamed of, and the guy that didn’t return 14 years worth of your love.
however, despite how bad it may sound to others, you know that even in rejection he is the best person you have met, a man deserving of the titles he got great king, best setter, and best person for you.
your heart aches from time to time, but at least now you look at those posters and say, “he is my best friend,” and all heads turn your way.

I'M LOWKEY IN THE MOOD FOR SOME FLUFF SO I DECIDED TO MAKE THESE HEADCANONS. i hope you guys enjoy! <3
Pregnancy Headcanons
Characters: Reiner, Porco, Colt, and Zeke
Warnings: Mentions of NSFW, pregnancy, birth
Reiner Braun:
- ohh boy, now let me just say this man has a breeding kink so you've definitely have had some pregnancy scares before. it was kind of common 😳.
- now when you started feeling sick one day, you instantly were concerned. Reiner noticed the change in your behavior as well. You seemed more tired, you barely slept, and worst of all you threw up a ton. it was a lot more than usual as well.
- Reiner didn't know what was wrong, he was scared to lose you.
- that's when it dawned on him that you two had sex weeks prior, without a condom. he was freaked out because he wasn't sure if you had forgotten. he decided to go to you about it and he explained that you should take a pregnancy test.
- you thought the idea of you being pregnant was ridiculous, but you gave in and took the test.
- when it came back positive, your whole world just stopped. you were pregnant with Reiner's baby.
- when you told him he was absolutely ecstatic. Reiner was excited to start this new chapter with you and assured you that everything was going to be okay, and he'd be by your side through everything. he was very helpful in getting what you needed.
- you found out you were about 6 weeks along at the doctor's office, and you two couldn't be happier.
- Reiner is very protective of you already. with you being pregnant, he is now 100x more protective than before. HE HAS HIS EYES ON YOU 24/7. whenever you go out, he goes with you. he was always around in case of an emergency.
- lowkey into pregnancy sex
- the symptoms were the worst, Reiner would wake up some nights to you going back and forth to the bathroom or throwing up at certain smells of foods. he was there for all of your mood swings and odd cravings 😭, he would always laugh whenever you would run to the bathroom having to pee.
- Reiner absolutely falls in love with your pregnant belly, there's just something he loves about your belly being so big. he always has his hands on your bump <3.
- both of you would argue over gender, Reiner wanted a girl and you wanted a boy. eventually you found out you were having a girl, and Reiner felt like a total bad bitch 😭.
- Reiner would have Bertholdt come check in on you often if he's at work, or he'll send you a text asking how you're feeling. he understands how some days you can have terrible morning sickness and that you need some love.
- he'll massage any part of your body that's sore.
- Karina was excited to be a grandma, she would often invite you over to ask how you were feeling. she was a huge help for you and Reiner during the whole process, she practically acted like you were her daughter.
- Reiner would so make a nursery by himself 🥺, he'd do it all within like two days and you'd be so impressed by it all. he wants everything to be ready before your little one comes home.
- when your water broke, Reiner was absolutely a total mess. Bertholdt and Annie had to calm him down, he was so scared.
- it was hard for Reiner to watch you cry in pain, he was a total mess at the doctor's office he had to walk out of the delivery room. eventually, he came back and watching you give birth was one of the most beautiful things he got to watch.
- HE WAS SO EMOTIONAL WHEN HE HELD HER 🥺🥺🥺. HOLY SHIT THIS MAN WAS A SOBBING MESS.
- god pls give this man a baby, he is such an amazing father.
Porco Galliard:
- Porco is always one to notice odd behavior or changes in your usual routine. he's very observant and blunt, so expect him to question you a ton whenever something seems out of the ordinary for you.
- when you started feeling sick, Porco found it odd. he hadn't seen you this sick in a really long time and it kind of concerned him being honest, he was scared that you were seriously ill. he would hold your hair back everytime you threw up your food. it really worried him.
- Porco overthinks A TON, he thought you were dying or something.
- that's when Porco decided to take you to the doctor. the last straw hit when you practically almost passed out when you were working out, he basically forced your ass into going to the doctor.
- you explained your symptoms to the doctor and after a few tests, you found out you were pregnant.
- hearing those words made Porco genuinely shocked, but he was so excited and happy. he told you he'd support whatever you wanted to do and after some talking, you both decided to keep it. he assured you he wasn't going anywhere and he was going to take care of you and your baby.
- Porco definitely goes overboard with it all 😭, mans would barely let anyone even breath next to you. he is so defensive over you and the baby, he's just protective like that. he sleeps with one eye open practically.
- dealing with the symptoms were a lot to handle at first. Porco wasn't sure what would trigger you to vomit or what would piss you off. you told him not to worry about anything and that you'd be okay, of course he's a stubborn little shit and just pouts but you find it to be adorable. he laughs when you have to pee 500 times a night.
- he loves the bump, he always pokes it for some reason and laughs.
- Porco wants a girl so bad. he literally tells you how much he wants a daughter and that's what he ended up getting. he found out you were having a girl and he was absolutely ecstatic, he was so ready to meet her.
- Marcel would probably come around if Porco was out working or he wasn't able to be at home. sometimes he'd send Pieck to check up on you if you weren't responding to him quick enough. this baby is so concerned over every little thing 😭.
- Porco would carry you around everywhere if your feet were sore. he knows how sore your body is so he'll carry you around the house.
- his family was very excited for the two of you, his mom was so happy to finally have a baby coming in the family. she gave you tons of advice and she gifted you with a ton of items for the baby.
- Porco asked Marcel to help him with the nursery, he didn't have any clue where to start and your due date was approaching faster than he could even blink. it took awhile, but they ended up making a really cute and pretty nursery. Porco felt like a proud dad in that moment.
- when your water broke, hell on Earth happened.
- Porco wasn't even there when it happened, you were with Pieck and it broke. when he got the call he went absolute ape shit and ran out the door, he literally zoomed to the damn hospital.
- he became so worried about you 🥺, seeing how uncomfortable you were and how much pain you were in made him so scared. he stayed by your side as long as he could so he could somewhat make it a little less painful.
- it was really late when you finally gave birth and Porco was awake for all of it. he couldn't fall asleep without seeing you give birth. it was so beautiful to him.
- UGH HE WAS SO EMOTIONAL. you hadn't ever seen Porco cry until then and it made your heart so happy.
- he'd literally fall asleep with her in his arms <3.
- UGH I LOVE HIM SO MUCH.
Colt Grice:
- okay this soft baby is always one to know when something feels off with you. he always has that gut feelings you know? it always bothers him until he asks you what's going on.
- you started feeling really sick and Colt being the giant baby he is, he got really scared and worried about you. he watched as you would run off to the toilet and vomit whatever you ate, he thought you had food poisoning. he noticed how exhausted you were, mans was so scared for your safety.
- like Porco, Colt is an over thinker. he legit thought you had some disease.
- one night he decided to just scoop you up and take you to the doctor. he couldn't handle watching you randomly vomit or almost pass out, he was scared one day you'd get even sicker, so he took you in.
- the doctors were concerned after hearing your symptoms, so they ran some tests. the tests revealed you were pregnant.
- Colt was shocked as shit, but he was so fucking excited and happy. he literally almost fainted from hearing the news, he wanted to have a baby with you for a pretty long time. he was open to your options though, but in the end you both agreed to keeping it.
- Colt is very reassuring, especially in this scenario. he reminds you that he will be here every step of the way and he isn't going anywhere. this is a process you'll be taking together, not just you.
- this baby will do anything he needs to do to keep you both safe. he holds your hand a little tighter when you're out and about, or he'll keep his hand on your small bump. he became protective overnight.
- he actually manages your symptoms pretty well, he'll make sure he has water ready for you after you throw up or he'll make you something to eat that'll ease your stomach. he keeps up with the weird cravings or the mood swings. Colt does a lot to make sure you're okay and comfortable.
- he is obsessed with the bump, he loves pressing kisses against it 🥺❤.
- Colt wants a boy so bad, he wants to teach the little boy everything. HE JUST LOVES THE IDEA OF A SON. after heading to your ultra sound, you told him he was getting a son and he lost it. he was so excited.
- he would probably have Falco come over and watch you 😭, yes a 12 year old. Falco keeps you entertained and he asks you about the baby a lot plus he knows what to do in case of an emergency.
- Colt would be very comforting, he understands completely how some days you can feel irritable so he tries his best to make you feel better. he'll run relaxing baths for you, kiss wherever you feel sore, etc. mans is really built to take care of you while you're pregnant.
- his family was absolutely ecstatic when they found out. Colt actually had some background knowledge about babies, his mom was pregnant with Falco after all. he kind of picked up on a few things as a kid, so expect him to know what he's doing. his mom was very supportive and helpful too.
- Colt is a damn handy man, he knows how to build a nursery. he basically told you to not worry about a damn thing and to go relax. when you came back the nursery was so pretty and adorable, you fell in love with it.
- when your water broke this man freaked the fuck out, he was in panic mode.
- Colt was freaking out at the hospital, he literally couldn't keep calm. he paced around the waiting room, Falco had to literally force this man to sit down and relax.
- seeing how much pain you were in broke his damn heart, he tried his best to calm you down and male you feel at least somewhat comfortable. he assured you this would be over soon and it'll all be worth it to see your baby.
- when you finally gave birth, he was astonished. he thought birth was such a beautiful thing and watching it made him so happy.
- he was such a sucker for this little boy, when he held him for the first time he was so overcome with emotion. he fell in love on the spot and literally kept him all to himself 😭.
- he is the perfect dad ugh.
Zeke Jaeger:
- Zeke has a serious breeding kink so you've definitely have had some pregnancy scares in the past. nothing he isn't used to, the tests usually came back negative anyway.
- you became really sick over a course of two weeks and it was extremely out of the ordinary for Zeke. he noticed how you slept in a lot longer, your eating habits changed due to your vomiting, you had to pee a lot more than usual. the #1 thing he noticed was your period had oddly been late. he thought you were you were seriously sick.
- mans was scared okay?
- that's when it dawned on him that all your symptoms were involved with pregnancy. he realized the timeline when you both had sex and when you got pregnant lined up perfectly. Zeke decided to get you a pregnancy test, he told you he felt like it was the best option.
- you took the test nervously and it eventually came back positive.
- you told Zeke and he was shocked, he was so excited for this new chapter. he was literally on board for anything you wanted to do.
- Zeke would come to every ultrasound, he assured you that he was going to be by your side for everything. he got you anything you needed, mans would rush out the damn door to get you anything you asked for.
- he takes care of you pretty much whenever he can, if you were feeling sick he'd stay in bed with you until you were feeling ready to get up. he'll cuddle up with you all day if he has to. mans is also very protective and defensive over you, if anyone is giving you some weird side eye he'll literally protect you with his damn life lmao.
- Zeke manages with your symptoms pretty well, he hates watching you throw up. he knows how uncomfortable it can be for you and he always holds your hair back, or he'll have something prepared for you to ease your stomach. he hates the mood swings the most 😭, he also hates when you get up 500 times to piss. he makes fun of you all the time.
- don't even get me started on the bump, he loves it. sometimes he'll poke it randomly and start laughing.
- Zeke wants a girl so bad. he literally loves the idea of having a daughter, but he didn't get it. you told him after your recent ultrasound you were having a boy. he was a little disappointed, but he was still happy. he gets to teach the little man how to play baseball <3.
- Pieck comes over when Zeke isn't around to check in. he is always really worried about you, so whenever he gets that gut feeling he'll send Pieck right over to make sure you're fine and that she can tell Zeke everything is cool.
- like i said earlier, he's very comforting. he knows how to take care of you especially on your bad days.
- his family is really happy for you both, his mom helped you a ton with the whole process. Zeke is a bit older so he kind of knew a bit about babies since Eren is his step-brother. he picked up on some shit when Carla was pregnant, even then his family gave you tons of advice.
- Zeke had no clue how to make a nursery, he had to call up his god damn dad for help 😭. Grisha was absolutely in for it, and he did exactly that. the two spent hours building the nursery and it came out really well.
- into pregnancy sex.
- when your water broke, holy shit it was like hell on Earth. Zeke didn't even know it popped since you were out and about when it happened.
- he actually was pretty calm, he wasn't freaking out or running around like a mad man. he was very chill and relaxed waiting for the doctors to come and let him in the delivery room.
- seeing you screaming in pain was hard for him to hear, you were struggling and there wasn't much he could do. of course he'd hold your hand and remind you that you're going to be okay, even if you screamed at him telling him to shut the hell up 😭. Zeke was like 😀.
- when you gave birth, oh wow he was so shocked seeing how a vagina can push out a baby.
- when he held his newborn son he was so happy, he almost cried but he felt so proud. he literally was in love with his son and he couldn't be happier.
- PERFECT DAD YOU CAN'T CHANGE MY MIND.

makeup sessions (karl jacobs x fem reader)
a/n : hi! this is my first tumblr post. i have written stuff on wattpad in the past, but it’s still quite new to me, so please be nice :]] i accept positive critism and advice, as that most definitely will help me grow as a writer!
Y/n let out something between a squeal and a scream at the same time when she saw Karl's tweet. her face was beat red and her lips couldn't help but curl into the stupidest grin ever.
the tweet read :
hey @) y/nhasursocks wanna do my makeup at my stream today :]]
it was the simplest tweet, yet it meant so much to the girl. Karl and Y/n were always really good friends, they often streamed minecraft together, but never in a million years did he yet ask her to be in his stream in real life.
Y/n picked up the phone with trembling hands, already seeing a bunch of likes, comments and retweets to Karl's tweet. before answering, she got curious to know what the people say. cautiously opening the comments section, the girl scanned it through with her eyes. a bunch of "awwwwws" and hearts could be seen, which worsened her already red cheeks.
With her heart thumping hard against her ribs, she started writing her reply :
sounds great! <3
for a moment Y/n hesitated to press the "reply" button with the "<3" emoticon in the comment, but then she figured she and Karl sent lovey dovey emojis/emoticons in the past to each other anyways, so, she pressed the "reply" button at last.
in an instant, her reply started gaining more and more likes, comments and retweets. Y/n was never really popular, having her clout was only because of Karl being her friend, so seeing this much attention was weird to her. but she didn't care about that right now. all that Y/n cared about at the moment was the fact that Karl appreciated her enough to actually invite her over.
a little bit later in the day, Y/n received a private message from Karl, which said :
hey Y/n! I'm really glad you're up to stream together <3 i planned on starting the stream at 4 pm, but you can change the time if you're busy :] here is my address (don't tell anyone! :D) - (random address lol)
Y/n answered :
thanks for inviting me bestie!! 4 pm is cool, I'll be there! <33
she set the phone down, unable to remove the blissful smile from her face. she has never felt this way before - it was really weird, but the constant butterflies in her tummy reminded her that it's a good feeling. taking a few deep breaths, Y/n reminded to herself that all she has to do is to go to Karl's house and have a good time AS FRIENDS - no romantic stuff is needed.
~~~~~time skip~~~~~
Y/n got off from the bus at 15:50, but she still had about 5 minutes to reach Karl's house. in what felt like forever, the girl felt a sting of what was unmistakably fear and guilt - what if she was late? and what if Karl would be annoyed with her for that?
slowly she broke into a panicky run. passing careless citizens, who all looked at her fear-stricken face curiously, she finally made it to the front door of Karl's home. Y/n pulled out her phone and found the code that she was supposed to enter next the main door. she quickly dialed it, a beep beep beep was heard and she entered.
finally making it to Karl's apartment, Y/n stopped to smooth her hair and straighten her clothes so she doesn't look too shabby. her body seemed to be moving on its own - her finger pressed the doorbell automatically.
Karl opened the door almost in an instant - he wore a warm smile and before Y/n could stutter a "hello", he pulled the girl into a big welcoming hug.
"hey Y/n! it's so cool you made it!" Karl exclaimed, still holding her close.
Y/n's head was spinning, she needed more time to process what was happening. but nevertheless, she finally lifted her own arms and hugged the guy. burying her face into his sweater, she inhaled Karl's scent deeply - he smelled something like honey and warm days.
"hello, Karl." she mumbled with a grin on her face.
"come on, do you want to eat something before the stream?" Karl asked, letting go of the girl and taking her hand into his instead, leading Y/n into the house.
"oh no, I'm full. let's get straight to business." she answered, the blissful smile and content blush never leaving her face.
"alrighty! you already know, but we'll have an eventful makeup session, and then I thought maybe play some minecraft so the stream isn't too short?" the guy asked, opening his bedroom door.
"sounds great!"
Karl smiled and went to his computer :
"you ready? I'll start the stream now."
the girl quickly fixed her hair again and gave him thumbs up :
"ready."
Karl started the stream with facecam on and as soon as the chat saw Y/n, it went absolutely wild.
"guys, give her a rest, poor girl just came!" he laughed, drawing her a chair. Y/n thanked quietly and sat, waving to the chat timidly. in the corner of her eye, she saw comments like "she's so adorable" and "look at Karl being a gentleman" in the chat and her cheeks grew more red, but this time from satisfaction.
"well, as you guys know, Y/n agreed to be in my stream today, and since some of you don't really know her, she's a really good friend of mine who also streams and does youtube videos - so go support her!"
from that moment Y/n relaxed more and more with each minute. it was fifteen minutes into the stream when she already felt as if at home.
"Karl, you have a hell lot of lipsticks, where did that come from?"
"uhhhh, I only bought them for the stream today!"
"oh really? why are they all used, then?" Y/n asked giggling and showing them to the stream.
"hey- don't expose me like that!"
"chat, clip it, CLIP IT!"
all was going really well, Y/n was having a really good time with Karl AS FRIENDS. it was really nice. but all hell broke loose when the time to put eyeliner came.
"alright, I have no idea why, but you have four eyeliners."
"they're my sister's."
"haha, yeah, yeah, alright. Which one do you want big man?"
"hmmm, the one in your left hand!"
Y/n set the other eyeliners on the table, quickly glancing at the chat. her cheeks grew very very red…
"Y/N DO THE MEME SIT ON HIS LAP" "SIT ON HIS LAP" "THE MEME, DO THE MEME!!!"
a/n: if anyone is confused, this is an example of the meme i’m talking about :
the girl tried to act as if she hadn't seen the comments, but Karl was already by her side, reading them with her.
"meme… what meme?" he wondered out loud. Y/n got the impression that he was genuinely confused.
'chat, shut the fuck up, please shut the fuck up.' thought Y/n, but of course chat was just being chat.
"SHE SHOULD SIT ON UR LAP" "THERE'S A MEME WHERE A GIRL DOES A GUY'S EYELINER WHILE SITTING ON HIS LAP" "WE'RE NOT FORCING BUT YOU GUYS WOULD LOOK SO CUTE"
Y/n hid her face in her hands, unable to control her blushing. Karl just chuckled sweetly :
"chat, calm down, she's going to die from blushing."
he put on the "please stand by" screen and scooted over Y/n :
"hey, it's fine. we won't do it if you don't want to," Karl then leaned closer and whispered, "I'd be pretty glad if you agreed, though."
Y/n lowered her hands, showing off the big red hue on her cheeks. for a split second Karl's eyes widened - she looked really adorable.
"I'd also be glad." the girl said, almost not believing her own words.
Karl's adorable smile came back and he leaned back:
"well then, come here."
Y/n stood up shyly and straddled his legs, grabbing the eyeliner in the process.
"do you want me to turn on the facecam?" Karl asked quietly.
the girl nodded :
"I don't mind."
he turned it on and put his hands onto Y/n's hips. even without looking at it, Y/n knew the chat was blowing up at the moment.
"you guys better subscribe, because we're providing very good fanservice." said Karl jokingly and Y/n laughed. turning to him, she opened the eyeliner and put it next to his eye, only to find him staring at her in an awe. the girl blushed as a strong urge to kiss him kicked in. it looked as if Karl wanted the same thing.
at the precise same time, they both leaned in and pressed their lips together, Y/n putting her hands onto Karl's cheeks to hide the view from the chat. the kiss was very short and with no tongue included - but it was the most sweet kiss Y/n has ever shared with someone. she pulled away, an identical grin to Karl's on her face and hugged him very tight - they almost fell off the chair.
laughing, she continued to do Karl's makeup as if nothing happened and everyone watching the stream wasn't fainting and clipping the kiss. this will be talked about for a long time, but as before, Y/n didn't care about that, and nor did Karl.
a/n : anddddd cut! it’s quite wonky, but i believe it’s pretty swell for my first mcyt fanfic :]] let me know what you think of it and if you have any tips or advice on how to make my future stories more enjoyable! thanks for reading and i hope to see you around <3
sorry to bombard you with what non shippers are saying, but do you think ricky was ignoring gina in season 2? i don't recall this happening but people keep bringing that up as if it's fact
Firstly, not bombarding at all! I love getting asks so much! I work full time at a job that requires my full attention so I can only answer when I get home, but I try to get back to asks as soon as I can :) feel free to send any! Just might take me a day or two to respond :)
But I have definitely seen this floating around and I’m going to give that a big H*CK NO. If you watch in the episodes leading up to 6, there are multiple times where ricky reaches out to GINA, to talk. He smiles at her at NYE and she walks out. On Valentine’s Day, he invites Gina into his house (which some might say as polite), but he later texts her thanking her for coming over and giving him advice. Then the next episode (the storm) Ricky tells Gina he likes her dance idea and jokes around with her at school. At Carlos’ Quincenero, Ricky comes up to her to ask for advice (while not well-received by Gina, he did come up to her). Then in “Yes, And” we see ricky trying, yet again, to be around gina. He asks her to be his partner multiple times and is visibly upset and leaves when he sees Gina crying to “Home”.
After that is when things get fuzzy. I think a lot of the problem is the show is trying to introduce EJ as this new love interest. They needed to have scenes of them talking and getting to know each other to build up chemistry. Ricky was in the midst of his problems (+break up) with Nini and EJ needed to be the guy who “showed up”, so we got that parallel from Gina’s convo with Jack (did he stay?… well…. not so much, but I digress). I think a lot of the reason we don’t see rina interact between 2x6-2x12 is due to gina trying to move on after her anger at ricky, ricky trying to work through his relationship, and the show trying to establish another love triangle (it wouldn’t be a good one if we didn’t have any scenes we couldn’t root for EJ in). But it is evidenced they had not forgotten about each other because literally in episode 10 (AFTER spring break where ricky comes to terms with his relationship being done), we see ricky and the chocolates get brought up with the girls and gina and ej get brought up with the boys. When Gina is brought up as having a “thing” with EJ, you can see ricky is hurt. That’s when Carlos’ line about, “not letting the next girl go” gets panned onto Ricky’s face. I think he didn’t want to let her go either, but knowing she and EJ had a thing *I* think Ricky gave up hope on that and found the NEXT girl (Lily). When Lily didn’t turn out to be who he wanted (3x1), guess where ricky goes? Right back to the girl who was the original second chance. I think that’s a big reason we get that song in 2x12. GINA was the second chance, not lily, but with p*w being canon by 2x12, it makes sense that ricky might have jumped to the conclusion that second chance was lily.
TL;DR: I don’t think Ricky was ignoring Gina. If anything, Gina might have been ignoring ricky a little to move on, but I don’t put that on her as a bad thing. I think she needed the space and ricky needed to know what it was like to not have gina in order for him to fight for her. 2x1-2x6 gave ricky an “out”, because Gina stayed when he almost could have lost her. It was a big relief for ricky, so he thought everything was “fine and dandy”. He kept talking to her, until she decided she was done waiting for him. She almost moved and then ended up going after the guy who was giving her romantic attention when ricky literally couldn’t. But then ricky could and now gina was with someone else. Ricky learned a hard lesson s2: you don’t realize what you had until it’s gone.
