God every day I think about Akane’s breakdown in door 3 because there really is no correct way to interpret that and every possibility makes me crazy. Like she sees this fucked up corpse whom Junpei (and the player, depending on how they play) believes is their friend Snake, but she knows that it’s Guy X. It’s a man she very intentionally put in the game for this very purpose, so that he could die horrifically and be displayed for everyone to see. And she has a full mental breakdown over being trapped in this room with the corpse, being trapped by Junpei, to the point where she rips out her hair and starts bleeding from how much she bangs on the door screaming to get out. And fuck, there’s so many possibilities like

Akane could be feeling genuine terror over the sight of the body, and with that remorse. She made this happen, she wanted this to happen, and now she’s forced to quite literally watch the damage she’s caused unfold. She can detach herself from his murder easily in other timelines where she doesn’t have to look at it, and she can sleep easy knowing that her hands are technically clean because she didn’t do the literal killing. But she can’t do that here, and she has to face the fact that not only did she happily cause this death, she failed her mission. She isn’t going to survive, and now this man is dead for nothing and everything is her fault

On the other hand, her entire breakdown could be completely fabricated in order to keep playing the role of the damsel in distress who is so innocent that the very sight of blood drives her to insanity. The interesting part about this is that if she could fake such a horrific breakdown, just how much of her personality a facade? We know she wants revenge, for everyone from Cradle to feel even an ounce of the pain she and so many others went through, but we don’t get to see the extent of how much she feels this way. We never hear directly from Akane about her feelings on any of the original organizers, just her note about her desire to punish them. She hates them, but does she see their deaths as a necessary evil, or does she feel joy and satisfaction at watching them go? It’s absolutely horrifying not knowing, not being able to see her true feelings, not knowing just how real or fake she is, the extent of her madness. Perhaps she doesn’t even know that herself

if disgaea rpg gets an axel from the xeno netherworld, would you rather he be a xeno himself or on the side of the saints?

Xeno Axel is a tough thing to think about, Axel is a character with a lot of faces, and Xenos are basically the opposite version of a character, or what a character would be if a defining event in their life never happened (i.e Laharl if his mom never died),

So what about Axel? Maybe Xeno Axel is one who chose stardom over family, and therefore never fell out of popularity in the first place, making him a genuine superstar at the cost of his heart of gold? Or maybe one where the A-Virus is never contained and he rules over a Netherworld of Axels? Or maybe something entirely different like an Axel / Adell roleswap??? There's so many different options here...

Anyway, if we ever do get a Xeno Axel, I feel as if he'd be a good guy working with the saints. Axel generally plays an antagonistic role in just about all of his appearences, really only joining the side of the good guys by the end of the story, often against the will of the party, so a Xeno Axel would likely be both a welcomed and valued member of DRPG's "good guys" if we're playing off the Xeno = opposite angle. But then again he could also be a genuine villain??

It's very tough for me to answer this because Axel has kind of fit every role a Disgaea character CAN fill, he's been the recurring rival character, a postgame boss character, an actual aide to the main villain, the main character for a little bit, so figuring out his role as a Xeno isn't easy!!!

One thing is for sure though, DRPG is gonna go EOS before we get an Axel alt, they're too busy pumping out their 40th Rozalin alt.

tragic that the trio have an actually decent ending i mean it is bittersweet but they all live and. marblemottle neglectful parenting isnt canon in the story it only matters to me. tge real bittersweetness is they had to kill their clanmates, and were abused and mistreated, and they want to fix the system but its going to take more generations thn justbthem to fix it and its all bc of some weird star cats . and all of them learned lessons and "what they really need to be happy" but like. will that even work. theyre traumatized and scared

The thing about Solas in DAtV is that because they were fundamentally unwilling to engage with the question of whether or not the Veil should actually come down (which is a symptom of them refusing to engage with anything remotely 'problematic' in the franchise to date: slavery, elven oppression, treatment of both city elves and Dalish etc.) he goes from a character who is supposed to be the embodiment of wisdom to a character who is kinda stupid. And further, it affects our questions surrounding his motives and relationships, his actions in inquisition and how compelling he is.

Like, there's a lot of people arguing ATM about whether or not a romanced Lavellans relationship with Solas was meaningful/if she knew him compared to how Rook knows him/if he loved her more than Mythal. And I think the answer is very tied up in this particular issue with the writing.

Because if Solas is a revolutionary who believes that the veil must come down, not just to fix a perceived wrong he did, but for the good of elvenkind...if we take a Solas who says 'people are always dying, it's what they do' and realise that he's saying that because PEOPLE DIDNT USED TO DIE and the way their lives are now so short is terrifying to him, if we take a Solas who says that the world today is full of those who seem tranquil to him and take that SERIOUSLY, if we get a Solas who is sickened by the way spirits are yearning for the world the way it was but are stuck in the fade without any contact and that's twisting them into demons and those willing to possess others to taste a glimpse of what was denied to them by HIS actions...

Then we get a Solas whose actions don't just make sense but we can see WHY they make sense. We get a Solas who is, yes, committing an act of horrendous violence by tearing down the veil but is doing so to literally save the world rather than just fix a regret or because he's bound up in Mythal somehow and what she would have wanted for the world.

THAT Solas who leaves Lavellan because of his revolution he must lead, who leaves Lavellan after seeing what this world does to those who are left of the people, that Solas...I think that we could then argue more than the relationships he formed in inquisition were real and he was tragically forced away from them by his own goals. That in some way he is doing this FOR Lavellan.

There should be a sort of semi-horror tint to this world for us through Solas's eyes because we can see a world of tranquil walking around like he does, a world where life is too short, a world of injustice and pain and reasons to go ahead with his plan

But Solas....kinda lacks agency in DAtV. I don't hate the Solas Mythal plot stuff I think it's quite interesting, but mix it with us never considering the merits of what Solas wants to do, of EVERYONE unilaterally deciding it's evil with no real debate or queries, with ZERO elves in the narrative siding with Solas or taking what he has to say seriously...THATS where adding the Solas and Mythal plot rubs me the wrong way. I don't want Solas to need to be released by Mythal before he can let go of his evil plan...I want a Solas who doesn't have an evil plan but instead a complex one. I want the conviction of Anders in Solas; that what he's doing is RIGHT and the ONLY WAY to fix a great injustice. I don't want to redeem Solas or even understand him I want him to CONVINCE me and me BELIEVE him. Otherwise the Solas we see in inquisition is more shallow and the Solas we see in Veilguard through Rook...maybe Rook does know him better than the inquisition did.

some cecil facts for people who dont know who he is or havent listened in a while :)

he is jewish

hes been married to his husband for 7 years

they have an adopted son

he has a niece named janice

and a dog named aubergine

he didnt age for an unspecific number of years (around a century) but recently has begun to age again

he was a boy scout and maybe a bit of a gay thing with his best friend earl harlan who still has feelings for cecil even if cecil is oblivious

like as in, she used to literally hide from cecil for days and then she died when he was a young adult and his older sister abby raised him and it put a strain on their relationship where abby resented cecil for needing to be raised and cecil resented her for not being their mother (theyre also doing better now)

theres a sorta other world called ‘desert bluffs’ where cecils evil doppelganger named kevin works and they used to fucking HATE each other but more recently, things have mellowed. kinda. well atleast on kevins side i think

cecil never knew his father but its starting to seem like his dad is a tree..?

he has a fear of mirrors and doesnt know what he looks like or how old he is because his mother told him ‘someday you will die cecil. and it will involve a mirror’ normal!

One thing I really love about Titan Luz' desgin is that it looks evil! Like.... as if she would be the bad guy! If you saw this in any other childrens media youd be straight up like "Oh yeah shes the evil one!"

Like look at her! And together with the magic shes casting it looks even more "evil"

All those purple, black glowing magic with a hint of gold. It looks powerful. And sharp. All things we do consider and connect with the "bad guy"

King and Eda dont really "help" in that case! Eda has black pupils just like Luz does, she has sharp claws and a tooth peeking out of her mouth. King is basically just a skull on a wolf body. And when you know how his beta desgin looked like, you know that he couldve looked even more "evil".

But no, those three are the GOOD ones in this scenario! And do yall wanna know how the true evil looks like in his real form?

Like THIS! THIS guy! If you didnt know anything about the show and you saw that guy next to Luz, Eda and King, who would you say is the protagonist and who is the villian? Most likely youd assume that this man right there is the good guy, right?

So, bascially, what happened here is that Luz walked straight out of a Hot Topic to beat an old conversatives white grandpas ASS!

Kinda personal but as someone who grew up as a girl who always loved to dress "alternative" and was shout weird things at in school and who always saw the "goth person = bad person" in media this is so refreshing and good to see. Im so glad they did all of this!
