Did Sia insult topic of autism somehow?
Oh honey, it's sooooooooo much worse than that.
Sia wanted to make a movie about an autistic girl that manages to connect to people/feel safe and confident through music. So far, nothing outrageous, just a simple concept that would obviously put Sia's music front and center while doing something nice and educating people on autism.
There was controversy about her not casting an autistic actress as it would have been nice representation, but she could have totally gotten away with that since, come on, hollywood hasn't even figured out Rain Man isn't exactly true to life, they're not ready to have an autistic person playing an autistic character. Baby steps.
The real problem started when Sia started promoting the "charity/support group" that was helping "educate" her on the topic to make the movie. The "charity" in question was Autism Speaks - which is absolutely HATED by the autistic community for things like:
1 - Spreading the myth that autism is a mental illness that one can develop/catch like the freaking flue and potentially be cured of, instead of a neurotype, aka something starts in the woomb and cannot be "cured" because to do that you'd need to replace someone's entire nervous system, which is impossible.
2 - Using that myth to get outrageous amounts of money from people so they "search for a cure" - that doesn't exist and will never exist because curing autism is biologically impossible, AND despite the fact that the overwhelming majority of autistic people don't even want to be "cured" (plus, since said "cure" would essentially mean giving the person a new brain, it leads to the question of "Would I even be the same person, or would that just kill and replace me?")
3 - Using the myth of "We don't know what causes autism" (we do, it's genetic) to, of course, get MORE money from people so they can "do research to find the missing puzzle piece" (if you ever see autistic people complaining about a puzzle piece being used to represent the condition, that's why, it was started by Autism Speak's massive disinformation campains).
4 - Falsely "confirming" things like soy milk cause autism with one of the world's most ridiculous "research", losing only to "vaccines totally make kids autistic, buy MY vaccine instead, guys, I am totally not an unbelievably biased person, it's ALL the other doctors/scientists lying to you. GIVE ME MONEY!"
5 - Pushing the narrative of "autism is inherently a tragedy" to distract from the fact that all the money they waste on stupid shit could be used to help autistic people and their families. Instead, they focus on creating more and more panic, making parents in particular despair even more - to the point that one of their "awareness videos" includes a mother talking about how she wants to murder her autistic daughter and then kill herself... while sitting right next to said daughter.
6 - Promoting ABA "therapy" - which was created by the same guy responsible for the attrocity that is gay conversion "therapy." Both have led to unbelievably high rates of confirmed PTSD and suicidal ideation in patients (victims), and ABA in particular has been compared to literal dog training. Very fitting since it was created by a guy who famously did not believe autistic people truly counted as thinking, feeling human beings, and said as much several times. Despite that, it is still praised by some utter bastards because "it makes the patients act less autistic when they're not crying in the corner or trying to jump out a window"
So yeah, working with these guys is a genuinely horrible thing to do since they're basically a scam/hate group pretending to be a charity - and people were STILL willing to give Sia the benefit of the doubt, since Autism Speak uses all their resources to make sure they're the first thing people see when looking up how to help autistic people.
Lots of Sia's fans, both autistic and allistic, warned her repeatedly, politely, that she needed to supporting them IMMEDIATELY as their goal was the exact opposite of the one she claimed to have - aka raise awareness through an accurate portrail of autism. People were even kind enough to name organizations like ASAN as replacements to help her fix any damage done to the project.
And instead of being a decent human being, Sia decided to cry on twitter about how the mean retar-I mean, autistics were bullying her even when she was so kindly using them for her vanity project.
Because yes, that's how the movie turned out. An unwatcheable piece of garbage, with the autistic "character" being so fucking bad even the people who actively use "autistic" as insulted being offended on our behalf - and of course, she was used just a prop to show how awesome Sia's character was.
Seriously, it was so bad the actress playing the autistic girl was sobbing in between scenes because she knew how it was horrible and she didn't want to insult anyone, but Sia is literally her godmother and helped her career by putting her in nearly all her music videos so she felt obligated to go along with it.
So yeah, fuck Sia and fuck Autism Speaks.

Villain: Brother Humble, the Unlikely Usurper
Your party has been hired to escort a delivery to a monestary high in the mountains, not the most glorious job, but it pays well. Word is that an early frost has stirred up the monsters in the region and has the local bandits looking to fill their larders before the snows force folk off the roads. Best to be quick, quiet, and be ready for anything.
It’s a hard few days trekking up the mountains, and the heroes’ feet are aching by the time they catch sight of their destination. The monks are happy to welcome them but even more happy to receive what they carry: A large reinforced box containing the bones of one of the members of their order, lost  for some years while she was out on pilgrimage and now finally returned home to rest. Such an act of charity has more than earned the party a few nights of rest and hospitality and the monks, who happen to be as skilled brewers as they are devout souls, are more than happy to provide. Among the crowd of holy hermits the party might just notice a dour faced monk in fraying robes unloading their cart despite wearing ankle fetters, though their hosts ask them to pay no mind: Brother Humble is always in a sour mood and not even an act of god is going to change that.
Screams wake the party that night, followed by sound of the great bell and the smell of smoke. The monks are being slaughtered, and before they can do a thing about it the part of the monastery they’re staying in catches fire. Just as they’re forced to flee they catch sight of Brother Humble, smiling toothlessly as he runs one of the other monks through with a sword of unearthly black metal, laughing as the world around him burns.
Adventure Hooks:
Trying to divert the mad monk from his slaughter turns out to be a hopeless task, as despite the fact that the old man should barely be able to lift the sword he fights with an inhuman strength and speed and a skill that far eclipses the party’s best. He’ll toy with them at first but should any of the heroes try to make a stand he’ll make sure to give them something to remember him by: a brutal scar, a missing hand, a burn as he presses their body up against the building as it goes up in flames. Should they somehow manage to hold their own he’ll bring the whole place down on top of their heads, leaving them to wake up and pull themselves free of the rubble in the morning.
Though well protected in a concealed compartment within the saint’s bone box, there’s a chance the sword will be discovered during the journey either because of the party’s curiosity or a random encounter mishap. In such a case, the party will feel a calm will wash over them as they inspect the blade, a presence intoning that they are a sacred weapon sought by the monk, and it was sent to the monastery so that a great wrong may be righted. What the party do from that point is up to them, though their might be forces that would steal the sword back should they wander too far astray.
If you’re using this adventure as the launchpad for a campain, consider the party ending the first leg of their journey taking a rest at a local outpost, or friendly mountain town before continuing on to the monastery. Not only will it give your party a break from the action and a chance to connect before shit goes down, but it will also prove a poignant moment when they limp back into the haven with whatever few survivors managed to escape the massacre.
Background: Before he was a monk the man known as brother humble was named Firodon and he was the disinherited elder sibling of the realm’s previous soverign. Born to rule and a peerless swordsman, Firodon was unfortunately a monster who awnsered any flaw or failure with anger and delighted in petty acts of violence. He wasn’t thinking of the consequences when he dangled his youngest sister over the castle ramparts, he just wanted the brat to know her place. The ensuing fall would mean the girl would always need a chair to get around and showed the king and queen that their eldest was unfit to inherit their name, letalone a crown.
A hunting accident was contrived, and while it would have been easiler (and saved everyone else a lot of grief in the longrun) to put a bolt through the back of prince Firodon’s head his parents were goodhearted people, and thought that with a little guidance the boy might grow beyond his wickedness outside the pressures of royal expectation. And so a body was produced, a story concocted, trusted servants sword to secrecy. Firodon was dragged to the monestary in chains and finally humbled. The queen and king might’ve been right in their thinking. Though Humble raged at the indignity of his birthright denied, life in the abby was good for him. The rigors of life living so far from the palace gave him an outlet for the energy that spurred his darkest impulses, and the monks were not affraid to correct him when he was wrong, as so many others had when he was crown prince. He was not happy, he never allowed himself to be, but he found peace, or atleast he would have had the sword dreams not started.
Firodon’s family decended from an ancient line that first rose to power through a compact with Orcus, the now dead god of oaths, part of which involved the bestowal of Dominion, darksteel sword of great power and the service of a spirit set to watch over and guard the royal house. Working from behind the scenes this spirit served Firodon’s parents faithfully, as was its role, but upon their deaths its protection transfered not to their chosen heir but to their displaced eldest child who had never abdicated and was thus the “rightful” king in accordance with the ancient pact.  Since that day it has been working tirelessly to put the sword in Firodon’s hand and see him back on the throne regardless of how much blood it needs to shed in order to do so.

Jonathan Bailey's interview with The Standard (2023)
(TW: this interview contains a story of Jonny being threatened by an homophobe in DC the day after the Human Campain Rights Gala)
Tumblr media
Queer as Folk, Will & Grace, It’s a Sin: it’s not as if TV hasn’t tackled the gay male experience – and well – before. But I can’t think of a gay, straight (as it were) drama that matches the sweep and sheer mainstream gloss of Ron Nyswaner’s new eight-part Paramount+ series Fellow Travelers.
Nor can I think of one that does sex quite as brilliantly – frequent, searingly hot, sometimes tender, sometimes perfunctory, sometimes borderline brutal (one of the writers’ rules, Nyswaner has said, was “that we would never repeat the same act. When we got to episode eight, we were really kind of flummoxed”) and always articulate in a way that the necessarily secretive characters can’t be.
It’s certainly the first series I’ve seen that explores gay relationships in such an unapologetic yet nuanced and, frankly, expensive way, I tell Bailey, when I meet him at the Corinthia hotel in London.
“Totally,” he says. “And you can see it on the screen; the respect. In the early 90s, you needed a straight superstar like Tom Hanks [in Philadelphia, also written by Nyswaner] to bring a queer story and commission it. Cut to thirty years later, and it's the story itself that is the commissionable thing.”
I think the heartthrob star of Bridgerton is underselling his own clout a bit. The series follows the love affair between Tim Laughlin, an idealistic young congressional staffer (Bailey), and the vastly more experienced, cynical and outrageously handsome State Department official Hawkins ‘Hawk’ Fuller (Matt Bomer, whose all-American jawline could open a can of luncheon meat) that begins at the height of McCarthyism.
It jumps around a thirty-year timeline, expanded beyond the mid-century scope of Thomas Mallon’s original novel, to explore the relationship’s far-reaching repercussions, and the way that legislated oppression shapes people.
The other thing that stands out about the series, which begins in 1953 at the start of the Lavender Scare – the government crackdown on homosexual federal employees that resulted in upwards of 5,000 losing their jobs, and an alarming number taking their own lives – is that all the gay leads are played by out gay actors.
Bailey has said before that the important thing is gay stories being told, rather than slavishly ‘appropriate’ casting, and “I still 100 per cent stand by the fact that I think all actors should be able to do everything,” he says. “But to have gay actors chronicling the oppression and the trauma of it, I think it only adds to the experience. It's exciting that people welcome it.”
It’s encouraging too, that an out gay man was trusted to anchor a heteromantic behemoth like Bridgerton, to the point that having been snapped at Wimbledon with Ariana Grande (with whom he stars next year in the movie of Wicked), a newspaper was calling his agent threatening to out him as straight (“I'm in two minds about whether that's a really good sign of progression”). But all this progress is set against a sobering backdrop.
Rights for women and LGBTQ+ people are being rolled back across the world. Hate crimes based on sexuality have risen by 112 per cent in the last five years in England and Wales alone. How does he feel, right now, I ask him. After a moment’s consideration, he tells me a story that shocks me to my core.
He’d been to Washington DC, he tells me, at an annual event for the LGBTQ+ organisation The Human Rights Campaign.
“It was an incredible experience,” he says, sitting one leg tucked under on a tasteful beige chaise longue. “I met President Biden. I was there with Shonda Rhimes, she was being given an award, Matt Bomer was given another one; I was introducing him. My first political gala. I had the most amazing night; had a drink; couldn't sleep; buzzing.
“I woke up the next morning, it was like a montage. Sunshine, I was like, this is brilliant. I went into a coffee shop, and I was wearing a Human Rights Campaign cap from the night before. And the young lady who I was ordering from recognised me from Bridgerton, we were just chatting.
“And a man arrived behind me and he said, ‘Are you famous?’ And I said something like, 'I'm really famous for ordering coffee,' which is actually quite an annoying thing to say,” he laughs. “And then he got my cap, and he pulled it off my head and he threw it across the room and he said, ‘get out of this f***ing coffee shop, you queer.”
The room went still, Bailey remembers. But he walked over, picked up his hat, and put it back on his head. “If you don't take that cap off, I'm gonna f***ing shoot you,” it came again. “Where I'm from, people like me kill people like you.”
It was, of course, terrifying. But “in the moment, everything slows down,” he says. “No one knew what to do, apart from one girl, she was amazing. Angela, she came up, and she got her phone out and she said, ‘I'm recording this message, I think you are welcome in this country. And what you're saying, I think, is appalling.’ That happened sort of five minutes in, and he left.”
The man was from Pennsylvania (yes, Bailey did ask), and what Bailey took from the experience, he says, is that “potentially, there is a kid who – that's his father. That's his uncle. That's his teacher.”
He pauses. “My life was threatened. My body believed it; my brain didn't and it took me a while to really catch up with it. But I've got friends and security. There are so many people that don't. They are surrounded by that every day, and the torment of what that must be like, the amount of fear that was generated... If that's what children are surrounded by, they're not going to be able to grow in any way.
“And of course, that's not just an American story,” he continues. “It's international. And it's terrifying, that [here in the UK] we're not looking after queer people, in terms of allowing them into the country. Because that is the reality; people’s lives are literally at risk.”
He says the messages he’s been getting in response to the show bear this out. “People are still living in the closet. Or they’ve had a moment where they're watching and they realise, that was their father's story, or their mother's story; or it’s people who have been affected by this, but for the first time are understanding the trauma.
“People are so shocked that this is such recent history, but the majority of people in the world are living under that sort of belief system. And people on Instagram message from areas in the world where just getting through the day without being outed is survival.”
Bailey, 35, grew up in rural Oxfordshire as the youngest of four and the only boy to an audiologist mother and a father who worked for Rowse Honey. He had nothing but support and love within his family, but even he internalised shame from the way gay people were represented in the media when he was growing up.
“The majority of gay people were either the butt of jokes, or being caught in sexual acts and considered deviants, or they were committing suicide, or they're dying of AIDS,” he says.
He’s spoken before about an episode of Casualty he saw, aged 11, with exactly the latter storyline, “and I do remember that episode, viscerally, and crying and being like, that's what I'm [going to be]. And that isn't Casualty’s fault. It's brilliant to have that story out there. But it was the lack of variety, of access to being allowed to feel that you're going to be okay.”
Having said that, he says, “every five years is a different gay generation. It was nowhere near as tough as if I'd have been born 15 years earlier. Me and my friends, two in four, if not three in four, would not be here.”
His relationship status is off-limits. There’s “a lovely man”, but that’s all he’ll say. “It's not secret, but it's private,” he says. “Having a private life is, for me, completely critical. I don't know if I would be able to be as confident to speak out on other things if I felt that my whole life was up for grabs.”
Bailey’s next big screen project is Wicked, playing Fiyero alongside Grande as Glinda and Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba. At one point though, he was doing that, Fellow Travelers and Bridgerton at the same time, which sounds insane.
“On World AIDS Day last year, I was in Canada playing Tim on the AIDS ward,” he says (you know this from the start, no spoilers here). “And then I wrapped, went straight to the airport, slept on the plane, got up and went straight to a Regency ball, slept in a hotel in London overnight and then went and danced with Ariana Grande for a day, my first day of rehearsal. Then I came back and burnt some conscription papers for the Vietnam War on the Monday.”
He’s got big plans of his own too – galvanised by the gala in Washington, he’s been working with the charity Just Like Us, which brings queer speakers into schools. "You're twice as likely to be bullied if you're gay, or queer," he says. "And yet if there's positive LGBTQ+ messaging within the school system, 100 per cent of people's mental health and happiness increases. It's a no brainer." He is planning to establish a foundation next year, to consolidate his charitable work.
But for now he’s glad to be home for a bit. Bailey moved out of London to be closer to his Nana during lockdown, and stayed (“I was watching Strictly with her the other day”). She’s 93, born in 1930, so “we worked out she's the same age as Tim. So we charted everything that Tim experiences with where she was, and it was amazing,” he says.
“I knew that she had known one gay man at work in her life, because that obviously came up when I was having conversations about who I am, and I knew he had taken his own life. She's watching Fellow Travelers, and it's really emotional for her because she's, I think for the first time, really being allowed to understand what might have been going on.”
She's “blown away” by the show, he says. They haven’t talked about “specific scenes”, but “she said to my sister – ‘I didn't know he had it in him.’ I actually want that on a T-shirt.”

Frieren Liveblog- Chapters 9-12
Welcome back! Last time, we finally got our main mission! Let's see what meager progress they make this time!
Tumblr media
This scene is sweet, even if I don't think Heiter can fulfill this promise.
Tumblr media
Uh-oh. Fern is totally gonna fall for the monster's deception.
Tumblr media
Have I mentioned how cute these two are?
Tumblr media
So, what if instead of silly Amongus shenanigans, the shapeshifter inflicted pure psychic damage.
Tumblr media
Heh, Himmel is such a goodie two shoes that his evil doppelganger surrendered immediately.
Tumblr media
...Fern is frighteningly powerful. Frieren probably even more so.
Tumblr media
):
There's no way this pans out the way they think. Right?
Tumblr media
Naturally, as soon as I compliment their power, they run into a foe immune to the big'ol blast.
Tumblr media
Ah. I'm guessing this will be the guy with the axe I briefly glimpsed when checking the timescale. I wonder if this will be a core cast of three, or if they'll gain any other companions?
Tumblr media
With silence that pointed, Stark is either really good, or really bad.
Tumblr media
Fern, please prevent Frieren from delving too deep into the forbidden magicks. That stuff can be used for great evil.
Tumblr media
How very interesting. Gonna toss this theory out before the reveal: Stark didn't intimidate the dragon. The dragon is Stark's comrade. That's why he's upset to hear they attacked it.
Tumblr media
Lmao, come back when you have a proper scar vertically bisecting your eye, like a real warrior.
Tumblr media
Ah yes, I knew Frieren had good taste. Another Golem appreciator.
Tumblr media
Ah, so not a secret dragoon. (Though with a little luck, that could still become true by the end of the chapter.) Hopefully he isn't too whiny if he's gonna stick around.
Tumblr media
Fear not the man who learns 100 techniques, but the man who uses one technique so much he reshaped an entire cliff face, holy cow dude. Even if his gumption is low, his power is high. Hopefully that axe is adamant or something. Can't imagine how much repair a steel axe would need over three years of chopping solid rock.
Tumblr media
Oh no. Don't tell me these two are going to have a romance arc. I can feel it in my gut. Maybe I'll warm up to it later, but for now, Fern is too good for you Stark.
Tumblr media
Fern would rather not play tag with a dragon today.
Tumblr media
I see you are approaching me. (That's another manga I've got to get around to reading eventually.)
Tumblr media
Crit stacking builds are always fun. Reminds me of the last campain I was in, where our warrior was THE dps, laying down ridiculous damage with his two handed mattock. Alas, he had the weakness of dozing off before the session was over, leaving the rest of the party to fend for themselves.
Tumblr media
God, I love this stoic little gremlin.
Tumblr media
You could always just use booze. I'm sure Heiter would love it.
Tumblr media
Noooo! Not you too! Turn away from the dark side Fern!
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, in my experience, getting into trouble is practically all adventurers do. A little surprised Frieren isn't more of a troublemaker, but I suppose she is exceptionally patient.
Tumblr media
Yep, they're totally flirting, whether they know it or not.
Tumblr media
:/
Odds of you returning in time are... not amazing, considering the themes being explored. Then again, if this mission is successful, you could always talk to him in Aureole.
Tumblr media
Curses! My slovenly plans have been foiled!
Another fun session. Stark seems like a good addition to the crew. With one companion from Hieter, and one from Eisen, I wonder if we will get someone connected to Himmel, or if that's just Frieren.

I present a new chaos AU in my brain
GROTHE X DUNGEONS AND DADDIES C1
The basic idea is basically, at some point, the Grothe folk get magically transported to California to join the Dads! Because I'm not fully caught up with C1, the timeline kinda makes no sense, but it's general enough right now it's okay
Don't judge, this is a mess of ideas
MINOR DUNGEONS AND DADDIES SPOILERS AHEAD
MAJOR GROTHE SPOILERS AHEAD (READ AT YOUR OWN RISK)
Tumblr media
Ellga would be very close to the Oak family, mainly bonding with the twins for their heavy chaos vibes. She would become the goalie on the Doodler's team and take up a lot of "girly" classes within middle school. She lives with Chip as his daughter.
Tumblr media
Mathide is basically the same as pre-campain, just as a human and alive. They work within a bakery as second in command and often greet the dads in the morning when they stop by before work/school. They have a soft spot for Grant because he's a little baby queer that needs guidance, and they go to a GSA group together! They live alone, but in the same apartment complex as Barney. I also made them afab because I literally have no irl experience with amab people and I don't want to misrepresent!
Tumblr media
Chip is a very stressed single father who's doing his best. He basically got adopted into the main circle by Henry and now he's doing his best to give Ellga a decently normal life. He works alongside with Ron in whatever business he does, and often works from home to be home for Ellga. Barney and Mathide are sometimes on babysitting duty while he goes on business trips or if he has long meetings
Tumblr media
Carol is dead still, he bonds with Glen over it, but he really struggles being around Darryl at times. Because, y'know, same name can bring up memories.
Barney (who I didn't have space for on the page) works as a carpenter! He's just that hard working grandpa figure in Ellga's life who does his best to come to soccer games and school shows. He lives alone, in the same complex as Mathide, and gets along really well with Ron. However, Glen and him also bond over loss, and the two of them would knit together
Yes Glen 100% knits

OMG i read the post where you said “[valeria] loves women but in a macho way” and i just… please, if you are able to spare some headcanons 🧎‍♀️🙏🩷
bruh I have a whole fic dedicated to Valeria getting bitches OF COURSE I have headcanons
When I say she loves women in a matcho way I mean she's a queer woman that gets mad amounts of pussy because she radiates power and the girls that hang out with the cartel want a piece of that. Valeria knows this and will take advantage every single time.
She's so fucking problematic, i need to hammer that in. The version of her that I love and go gaga for is someone that will take and take and take and may kill you if you ask for too much in return. the true girlcrime boss<3
a lot of the women she sleeps with are not attracted to her or to women in general, but that's not going to stop Valeria. If she likes her bed partners enough, she might buy them a Gucci bag. As a treat.
She's NOT a girl's girl. She won't do shit to keep women from getting trampled over if it mildly inconveniences her.
She might be queer but she's not an ally. As far as influencing public policy and politics she's far more interested in corrupting officials than campaining for gay rights. For me, she was more part of the queer scene when she was young, but she distanced herself from that when she started to be SomeoneTM.
Most of her macho ways come from entering the military young, and coping with the abuse she received as a woman (and a queer woman at that, not that she was out) by becoming meaner than the people who made her time there difficult. She absorbed the macho codes and became a master at them. This makes her an absolute nightmare of a person and also my dream girl.
She did have a girlfriend when she was in the army, as well as friends (the 'clean-cut senores and senoritas') she could be vulnerable with, but her girlfriend died and her friends met similar fates. That's when she started to think about going rogue.
She's a pessimist, but in a "the world will never get better so let's enjoy all of its vices while we're still standing" kind of way. She's got no one left that she cares about, so she's focusing entirely on making mad amounts of money and keeping her powerful position because that's the one way she's found to keep feeling good about herself.
She clocked Alejandro and Rudy as queer years ago but there's no solidarity there. She'll kill them if she must, because she's Alejandro's nemesis and he is hers (queer on queer violence)
That's a good chunk of my thoughts about her: as you can see, I love her for being an asshole. I might write yet another fic about her girlbossing toxic feats one day (and draw her with her girltoy she swears she doesn't care about)

So, I got this idea while watching a tik tok edit of Gastina, where he caption said that the creator loves using underrated Gastina scenes. The edit was really beatiful, but in my opinion, none of the scenes used were underrated...but I guess, not everyone is as obsessed as I am so we all have differnt views of that.
So, I present to you:
The underrated Gastina scenes that need more love... (according to me) (not in any particular order)
So, no kisses, or the first meeting, roses, the blindfold scene or the locker scene. Lets go.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This kind of categorizes the whole photgraphy arc. The first time we really saw them interract properly and the sparks clearly flying from the begining. I firmly believe that Gastón started having feelings for Nina right then are there, but didn't realize it. Also the teacher, Mr. Acosta as I have names him, was such a shipper. He probably won few bets at faculty lounge the start of S2 when they showed up dating.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This scene is literally the scene right before the "break up" in S2. So why I like it then? Ignoring what happen's after this, this is such a cute scene. They're talking about the Roller campain, and basically arguing over was Nina's text that caused them to go viral or was it the hastag, which very fast turned into flirting when Felicity got brough up. I really like that Felicity is not brough up often, because that's not where their relatioship is based on, but I do like it being used like this. Like them basically teasing each other about tehir history and Nina even asking if she should be "jelous of herself". If only the conflict hadn't started from here, because this scene was supposed to excalate into totally different direction, which you can see from both of their faces.
Tumblr media
This one is really brief, but I love mainly for the ear thing. Why didn't that become a promident thing? We see this once, and it never came back. Why?
Tumblr media
I love this scene mainly for this line, which I have used mutlple time as anti-Eric evidence. Also the matching outfits and full blown love-confessions we got in this very simple scene.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
How can I possibly like this scene? It is very headbreaking and sad, but just still proves the superioty of this ship and especially what sort of a person Gastón is. He is mad at Nina, but also as heartbroken as she is, and never even raises his voice at her. He even hears her out, which is unheard of in DCLA.
Tumblr media
I'm sorry, this is just the most adorable scene from season 1 honestly, adorable and a little bit maybe spicy in a way. I mean, they got physically really close when he caught her and his hands were on her waist and she pretty much squeezed his biceps in the process. There is like clear chemistry between them for that moment, and you can see from his face that he certanly felt some things. Okay, the physicaly chemistry aside, I also love this scene for the fact that in here Gastón taugh Nina how to stop on her skates. If you remeber, the one teaching her that was him, not Luna, which works perfectly with my analogy about Gastón's and Luna's influence on Nina.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Speaking of those feelings... I know that this is right after the blindfold scene, but I one of my fave thing about Gastina is the fact that Gastón actully fell in love with her, not Felicity and was in love with Nina since the begining. I mean in here he basically stopped gushing about Felicity and lost his train of thought as soon as Nina walked past him. He might like Felicity, but Nina's the one who is making his heart race when she's close (this is said in the Finnish subs) and he is feeling things. Which is basically Disney's way of saying that he has been caught very of guard of his overwhelming attraction to Nina all the sudden and doesn't know what to do with it. IN his mind, he can't be in love with her because of Felicity, but god he's in love with her and wants to be in love with her and he could actually be with her, but Felicity...
Tumblr media
Continuing the with the theme here... This scene frustrates me, because Nina, my girl, how are you still convinved that Gastón didn't want you in the first place? He pretty much said so, how so you not know the conflic is between you and you? But, that makes this scene so good too. Maybe it is a good thing that Nina let Gastón out of his miseryt so soon after this. What I believe was happening in his head when he started leaving so aruptly was that because he wanted to kiss her so badly. I need to write some sor to a novelzation of his though process during these eps.

You guys must have seen that article from Vox that was filled with misinformation about ZZH's case written by someone called Aja Romano.
The article was very hostile towards Junzhe CP fans, which is actually not that strange knowing how RPS fandoms are seen, but since Romano herself was part of RPS fandoms and even believes that Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo are in a secret relatonship, you've got to wonder where all the hostility is coming from. It's also very interesting that she never once showed any interest in WOH ever since it aired, but then suddenly appears and writes a scathing article about Junzhe CP fans a full year later, even regurgitating anti talking points from weibo beat by beat. So when I first read it I suspected that it wasn't written by a passerby journalist, but rather by someone who was very familiar with the WOH fandom and specifically with Junzhe CP fans. Someone who was keeping an eye on the fandom's conversations. And also possibly, someone who has something against us or ZZH and GJ.
On June 2022, an article that was published on The China Story finally laid out the facts about ZZH's case: that he wasn't banned by the CN government, that CAPA wasn't a government entity and therefore had absolutely no right to issue a boycott, that ZZH was the victim of a vicious smear campain that must have taken millions to fund. After the horrible articles Aja Romano wrote for Vox, it was a welcome relief.
Well now some amazing people over on twitter found out that Aja Romano actually emailed the editors of The China Story, asking to retract the article. It's the ONLY article that contains the truth about his case, and has all the facts that Li Xuezheng himself stated. And she asked for it to be taken down.
Tumblr media
She claimed that the article was filled with misinformation, even though the article was based only on facts that were verified during the time Li Xuezheng was active. Aja insisted that ZZH was banned by the government, even though that was debunked three times, twice by the NRTA and once by the MCT. Since when did a chronically online waste of space and human equivalent of watery diarrhea like Aja Romano have more say about ZZH's case than the literal Chinese government?
Like what you like, ship what you ship. Mind your own fucking business. There's no rule saying you must stuck your rancid dick in other fandoms just to enjoy your own.

Here are Dream and Punz's dnd characters from the Syndicate+co campaign I mentioned in my last post :)
Dream's character, Juli :)
Tumblr media
And Punz's character, Moon :D
Tumblr media
(ramble under the cut)
Moon's real name isn't Moon, but that's what they go by for most of the campain
For Juli I definitely messed with the the eladrin description but fuck it she looks cool, she is also the baby of the party :)
Dream plays a character decidedly different from himself, someone who gets to be cheerful and happy and naive, Juli is sort of what he wishes he life could be, she has a loving family, despite the fact she's adopted and decidedly different from her family(they're gnomes, for starters), it's a type of wish fulfilment, and an escape from his daily well you know, his life, and general stress, she's very dear to his heart because of this
Moon on the other hand is... Well Punz's relationship with them is less personal, but he does get very attached to them, their personality was more unintentionally created than Juli's steming from Punz's own awkwardness at the table, resulting in a quiet, calculative but awkward character, and Cryptid(they are the dm) sort of... gave them trauma, it started more vague, they had a plan™ for Moon's patron(that's the right word for a cleric's god right? Also I don't have a name for them get so sorry :( ) but when they resumed the campaign (after some stuff was worked out post-confrontation), Cryptid couldn't help but make Moon's patron even worse than originally planned out of a sort of bitter pettiness
So Moon's relationship with their patron became something more abusive that paralleled Cryptid's own relationship with Punz (and Dream, to a lesser extent), now is this the most healthy way for Cryptid to process their trauma? Absolutely not! It's not even processing. But it does happen and I plan to make an animatic based on it :)
Anyway yeah, I could ramble about Moon and Juli for probably ages, I am very attached, but I'll leave it at that for now, if y'all are curious about them or just anything else in the au, dnd campaign or just main plot feel free to send asks! (Aka Please send asks, I want to ramble about random things and it helps me build out stuff)
(Dreaming of death au is an au of the fic Penpal by @calamari-minecraft-corner, and doing the whole dnd campaign thing was inspired by Cala's dnd con au)

The War Within: OC Whereabouts
An'ora Sunstrider: She was drawn to Silithus by her investigations with Alleria for Xal'atath, the Radiant Song, and a message from Thrall. She was there for the fall of Dalaran, and is the main one going through the campaign. An'ora experiences the Radiant Song second most than any of [my ocs], but not as intensely as Anduin.
Desnomia Blythe: Although she does not receive visions of the Radiant Song (due to her shadow ascendance & void magic use), but she accompanies An'ora though the campaign because he does not trust her to be in the right frame of mind after losing Khadgar.
Starigosa: She was not experiencing visions, nor was she in dalaran at the time of it's fall, however when Jaina and Thrall spread the word of what is happening she quickly journeys to Khaz Algar to both aid and avenge her dear friend. She experiences two visions, once when she arrives, and once when shes Beladar, however that is it.
Zunagosa: She (of course) stayed behind with her family in the dragon isles. She bounces between being with Ebyssian, her older siblings (Stellagosa, Berazus, Kharmeera, & Solyxia) and Emmigosa, and the little scales daycare.
Mireera: Mireea is in the Dragon Isles. She spends her time split between spending time with Kalec, and in the little scales daycare.
Solyxia: She actually joins Starigosa in going to Khaz Algar, much to Ebyssian and her sibling's dismay. Starigosa was okay with her coming, however she couldn't leave her mother's side.
Lyndra'thel Darksong: She, similarly to Desnomia, does not experience the visions, but she joined Jaina to Silithus. She was there for Dalaran, and decided to go with Jaina and Thrall to gather aid. She asked Desnomia to watch over An'ora for her, as she still feels for her as her (former) princess and kin.
Elizabeth Wrynn: She was brought out of hiding with her (now three) wolves by Jaina. She was there for the Dalaran crash, however she does not particapate in the campain for a while, as she is caring for the survivors of the crash. After a while, she then goes off to find those taken prisoner with Silesia.
Silesia Nyrwyn: She did not know of anything going on (aside from people receiving visions) She was simply in Dalaran to visit her mother, Shannon Noel. During & after the fall she is searching for her mom, and later joins her half sister, Lizzy, to find her. During the fall of Dalaran Silesia's illusion of her being a red eyed half elf breaks, reveling her true self for the rest of the expansion. During her journey she tells Elizabeth the truth of Silesia/Illyana's past, and the two bond.
Drozaka Emberforge: She is on outland searching for both survivors and information of the Whiteclaw clan, so she has no idea what is going on on Azeroth.
Y'thenna Moonsoul: As she received the visions most often and intensely of any of [my ocs], she came to Silithus to discover and figure out what was going on, however she left Dalaran moments before the attack due to having to check on a member of her family that became gravely injured. When she arrives to Khaz Algar with Jaina and others, she spends her time healing the injured of not only the surviors of Dalaran, but any she meets. Y'thenna only stops to investigate and aid the Haranir.

What are your thoughts on MJ's daughter supporting Israel and trying to distance herself from her dad? Girl won't even defend him
Jesus fucking Christ, are you guys coordinating these asks? This is the third time one of you asked me it, I'm legit impressed.
Let's get the easy, and horrible part out of the way first: nobody on the fucking planet has any excuse to support Israel. You can hate Hamas and the goverments of countries like Iran without excusing the literal genocide of civilians in Palestine, because yes, that's what Israel is doing right now.
Paris Jackson (and everyone else, famous or not, that is still pretending Israel isn't commiting all kinds of crimes against humanity right now) should have known better and needs to get her shit together.
Now, onto the messy part:
Although Paris has recently said "it's not her role/place" to defend her dad, lets not forget the other things she said on that same controversial statement:
1 - She fully believes her father is innocent and called the "documentary" Leaving Neverland pure lies.
2 - She believes that everything that could be said about her father's innocence has been said already and she'd have nothing new to add to the conversation.
3 - Her cousin Taj has become basically the leader of the family's campain to clear Michael's name and has been doing an amazing job.
4 - She's not as patient as her father was to deal with that kind of stuff and she has been focusing more on trying to recover from her mental health issues.
That last one is important, specially when we remember that Paris has claimed to have been sexually abused in school (which left her with PTSD), and that she has struggled with addiction, paranoia and a freaking suicide attempt.
It would not be surprising to me if having to listen to allegations of childhood sexual abuse is extremelly triggering for her - especially since the person being accused of being the abuser is her late father, who was murdered by his doctor when she was just 10-years-old, and she was treated like a stupid child in denial everytime she tried to point out the things being said about him were not true.
Considering she has continued to praise her father over the years, both with small things like posting a family picture on Father's day this year and big things like saying he was a super accepting man that was totally cool with her not being straight, and DID defend him publically every now and then, like, once again, calling "Leaving Neverland" pure lies when it came out, I'd say she's not really trying to distance herself from her dad or imply she's starting to think he might have been guilty. I think she just genuinely cannot fucking stand having to act as his lawyer only to have every word she says ignored, no matter how much evidence she offers to back it up.
(And before anyone brings up the fact that Taj was also a victim of sexual abuse in his childhood and has is still speaking out in support of his uncle, including of how he helped him deal with his trauma, keep in mind that people cope differently and heal at different paces).
Do I think she could have phrased some things better? Yes.
If either of my parents were accused of something horrible and a bunch of people kept insisting they were guilty despite all evidence poiting to the contrary, would I interact with said celebrities? No, and it is extremelly disappointing whenever Paris does that...
... But then again, Michael was at war with his record label, Sony, for years and was convinced they were not only sabotaging his career but also trying to murder him, yet he still was ready to go on a final tour that was going to make them A LOT of money. Like father, like daughter.
Honestly, I would not blame the entire Jackson family if they just made one last big documentary to try and clear Michael's name, then, regardless of how it was taken, packed all their shit and moved to a remote island, far away from the spotlight and never spoke to any journalist or had any social media presence again. They've been getting screwed over and surrounded by awful people in the industry, the media, and amongst other celebrities since the goddamn sixties, it's a miracle anyone of them is still trying to "play the game" or explain themselves.

(Warning, beating a dead horse probably, and I might be horribly wrong about several of these things, and if so please correct me)
Rewatching Sonic 06's Silver campain cuz of the recent Lythero video, I noticed a little something:
Did Blaze even do anything before she was thanos snapped out of existance in Silver's ending? I mean, a lot of characters already don't do a lot in the game (*cough* Amy *cough*), but Blaze in particular stuck out to me.
For one, in this game Blaze is in the future with Silver, but Sonic Rush AND Sonic Rush Adventure clearly state that Blaze is a princess from another dimension and the guardian of the Sol Emeralds, the latter game taking place in said dimension.
Brief summary of what Rush established for Blaze: she never had any friends before meeting Cream and Sonic, she's the princess of a dimension separate from Sonic's, she's the guardian of the Sol Emeralds (the Chaos Emeralds of that dimension) and she takes that role VERY seriously.
The first Sonic Rush game came out in 2005, that was Blaze's proper introduction. What is she doing 200 years into the FUUUUUTUUUURE (spongebob ref lmao). Sonic 06 recons not one, but two games that clearly establish Blaze's lore (one comes after, but it still applies for the first one) just so they could put her in this game.
But even though she had to be retconed into being here, she... kinda doesn't do much. Granted it's not as bad as Amy, Amy is still the biggest offender of "I really don't do jackshit in this plot" character in 06, but still.
Other than being Silver's only friend in the waste land that is the future and dying/being sent away/whatever it was at the end of his story, Blaze barely has a prescense. Hell, I don't think she ever interacts with Amy, the other playable character in the Silver campaign. TWO of the three playable characters in the Silver story NEVER meet each other onscreen even ONCE.
Tumblr media
Hell, before Sonic's last level, she was right there and they don't even speak to each other. Not a single reference towards Sonic Rush or anything, the two may as well be complete strangers. Remember that Blaze was Sonic's main rival in that game? 06 sure doesn't.
(Also where was she before? Silver destroyed the robots in front of Sonic and once Kingdom Valley is over, she was just... there with them. Where was she before this cutscene? Was she with Silver the whole time??)
And I'm not gonna pretend that her "death" didn't make me cry like a little girl the first time, but now I'm like... she did nothing. She did literally nothing. She was there to be the girl that Silver liked and that's about it. Rouge and Omega are a lot more important to the plot, hell even Tails at the very least interacts with Elise and Eggman. I checked all the cutscenes in 06, and I can confirmed that Blaze never said a single word to anyone except Silver. No way you'd get much characterization from her if you hadn't played Sonic Rush prior to this game.
So the thing is: what's the deal with 06 Blaze? Is she a different character from Rush Blaze? Is she even still a princess? How does SHE know what a Chaos Emerald is when Silver doesn't if she lived in the same future that he has?? Did the time reset at the end of 06 rewrite her entire backstory into the one we get in the Rush games??
My brain hurts, man, Sonic lore is all over the place

my dnd campain arc 1 continued continued
so we end up using Iras dream powers and some other weird magic to go into the Lords memory to try and find out what happened to him. It sort of works but we realize that it only worked becauseThe Timekeeper/Max's Ex helped us out, but we end up all wearing these weird magic masks (Red is wearing a Leech mask, Ira wears a Mockingbird mask, Braxton wears a Bear mask, Kit wears a Fox mask, Kraka wears a Snake mask (though she finds herself disgusted by the mask for no clear reason), and Max is conspicously absent) through some work we find out that what caused the Lords brother to become cursed was that they discovered a Wyrm underground (in this setting Wyrms are Lost dragons) and they barely escaped but could not remember it. When we wake up both Ira and the Lord have blood pouring out of their faces.
also when we wake up Jianni also wakes up and realizes that her boyfriend is dead. she goes a little insane and swears that she will destroy all the support pillars and crush the entire kingdom, and all of us with it, so that we will never hurt again. we try and stop her, and end up in a stand of with Red (who ended up with the magic lost brother amulet) threatening to destroy the amulet and release whats inside if she doesnt stop. The amulet ends up being broken however, and now the Lost Brother breaks free and starts fucking shit up. people start dying left and right. Our party are the only people strong enough to even look at it and even that causes us extreme psychic damage. Jianni teleports away in the chaos. Red is nocked unconcious. Max, our only healer, is still nowhere to be found. in the end we manage to make the thing retreat, but by then basicaly every unnamed NPC in the caravan is dead.
On an unrelated note, when Red is unconcious, she finds herself in a strange snowy forest with jet black pines. she has none of her equipment and is phisicaly 2 years younger. she follows a trail of footprints that bring her to a great pavilion where Max and his Ex (whose real name is revealed to be "Benny") are having dream brunch. Turns out while all this chaos was going down they were reconnecting over a nice meal. I am invited to sit with them and have a bite of a berry croissant. I tell Max that we REALLY NEED HIS HELP and that he NEEDS to wake up, but he brushes it aside, saying he'll wait a little longer. in the end, I convince benny to wake him up, though he ends up keeping me a little longer. Turns out that every item in the brunch was actually pomegranate flavored, and, since I took a bite of one, means I am now trapped hear until he lets me leave. He basicaly forces me into a deal where, in addition to being allowed to leave, I will recieve a snake marble, at the price of owing him 1 favor for him to cash in at a time of his choosing. (the snake marble ends up turning into my sword into a battle axe)
finaly all reunited and healthy, we decide to make the final push towards the heart of the dungeon. exept this ask is long enough that im gonna have to break this up again for the sake of readability
Oh no that can't be good

making this a series ig (spoilers, mostly minor, idk well just have to ROLL WITH IT AND SEE)
episode is starting from zero, episode 1 (quick note: i love how excited everyone is aty the beggining for this camoain, so heartwarming) "'for all you audio listeners your about to hear what a man catching on fire sounds like' 'and also a house catching on fire'" "so its like 3 belts? yeah" "this character sucks not enough belts" ok chip hasnt been described and hes already drawn blood "how much trouble does this woman have keeping her pants up holy shit" "anything that looks valueable, take it" "whats a barrel" instant love with this campaine from here "ill carry this" "ok" "but w h y" “this is the fastest I've ever committed arson in a campaign” "ok as soon as we light this ill let them know so they die an honorable death" "but the barrel is terrified of fire" "so this is a barrel" "lets blow up this popcicle place" hes trying guys "grab a barrel as well i need to study" "in you multitude of belts" when did i forget jay had so many and got bullied for it "i hope she didnt find any more belts in there" ok but whenever i hear marshal jon being described the dopamine just floods out "oh! that wasnt the bathroom!" "no it was not, it was the room where we got the explosives" "WHAT ARE YOU GRABBING THE EXPLOSIVES FOR" "to blow up your ship" bro i loved how gill interacted with people before what an idiot /pos "gill make a-dont make anything you told the truth" gotta love grizzly doing a save "and jay you go to kick this man in the back of the knee and you do you realise that his calf muscles are literally built like boulders" "i want to put my hand on his shoulder" and so it begins the convincing! yes gill go!! "hang on let me see that...big j" "JON, ITS YOUR CHOIIIIIIIIIIIIIISE" "as the door is blown off-" "did somebody fart?" ah yes gill you lit the explosive that makes people fart" "BACHOW!" please dont stop this man from making random noises its great "is your skin always wet or is it dry?" GRIZZ ASKING THE REAL QUESTIONS!! "you are to learn a lesson from the moisture master!" remember when gill made his title canon now, its 6 seconds to 20 minutes in "THOSE PIRATES!" man knowing him now its kinda strange to hear him hunting them down "i just occasonally grab people and im like 'you can be better'" cant believe gill went from telling people to be better to just immedately trying to solve their problems (like not even 2 episodes later if im remembering right) "excellent jay you are a fog frog" "im gonna steal somebody's hat then run out the door" jay stealing chips job now "im passing the barrel out the window" i remember when hed just be a problem for any stealth kind of movements "MY FRIEND SAID HE DOESNT WANT YOU TO HAVE AN ADVANTAGE" "there is still time" ITS STARTING WOW "you get the sense this guy cannot see very well" i forgot he had sight problems "YOU BLEW A HOLE IN OUR TOWER" "and you blew a hole in my heart" ACCIDENTAL FORESHADOWING AND A GREAT MOMENT FOR SHIPPERS?? HOW MUCH IS CHARLIE FEEDING US WITH GILLION TIDESTRIDER!?!!? (spoiler: a lot) "can i make a persuasion check?" "sure" if charlie never said this we would never have the future pirate jon, IF HE NEVER GOT A 16 THINK WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED "you cant tell if i cry a single tear or if im usually that moist" the fact that he is can make for an angsty hc that nobody really would notice gill crying "jon didnt make it" oh this better not be another accidental foreshadow "you see, a pink frogtupus" everyone being excited for the preztal reveal was also all of us huh dont lie! "i look like a big flounder" fanartists canon gill description /j "god damn it big j" friendly reminder that (from what ive seen) marshal jon is the only character gill gave a nickname, and he had met him like 20+ minutes ago "YA BOY GILL ABOUTA BE FRIED" "ima just grab them both and jump" ngl i cant put my finger on it but calmer gillion probs the chaos control thats needed because of him being feral "jon this is for you" *proceeds to get an 8* (would have been epic if he suceeded that charisma tho) "jon, the power is- eyeh" "i look over wistfully (?) 'but w h y?'"
