Hyoma- making him sad /hj he’s fascinating to explore the angstier sides of but it’s in such a unique way for him that I really love to write. The way he hides so much of what goes on his brain makes for silly shenanigans most of the time but for heartwrenching sadness when it comes to his themes of loneliness and abandonment that you can take in so many different ways. I like that a lot bc it’s a facet of his character I relate to really heavily so I’m really able to write that in a very personal way that I think makes it more effective. (can you tell perpetual loneliness is my favorite fic I’ve written CAN YOU TELL-)

Tsubasa- I like making him a dork. That goes for a lot of my art as well but he’s also such a closed off guy and that manifests in him being super serious and stoic all the time so I really like making him open up and be a lot sweeter and happier I think he deserves it. Also you’ll notice all my fics exclusively use they/them pronouns for Tsubasa. I enjoy that it’s fun I need to start referring to character with my pronoun hcs for them in regular posts again

Kyoya- comfortttt. specifically, I really like giving him silent acts of affection. He never explains what he’s doing nor does he say very much that’s openly affectionate and I love writing him doing that while in the process of giving acts of physical affection it’s genuinely so comforting shdhsjjs

I think for dislikes, for all of them I feel like I kinda flanderize them sometimes. Tsubasa especially bc I do like making him lame and sweet but I feel like I don’t explore his character fully enough when I do write him. I’ve been meaning to rewatch the entire series again maybe I can refresh myself on him

During around the Halloween or Christmas, there would be a lot of missing reports on children from the age of six to eighteen occurring. Most witnesses claimed seeing a big white ember either within the homes or outside of them. The children could be seen wearing a pumpkin shaped containers while standing near it during nighttime, usually midnights. Few witnesses had tried to prevent the ember from taking the children, though, strangely, those who attempted to do so would face an ice based attack as a distraction or self protection from creating a sheet of ice on the surface to creating towering icicles around itself and the children. Regardless of the confrontation, the ember wouldn’t harm anyone and consume the children, making both itself and them vanish to the unknown.

Few would see a brown haired man in his mid thirties with cracked skin and entirely black eyes doing a similar action, having the children disappear with the white light that would escape from his eye sockets. There is a theory that the reason the ember would given itself a human appearance is to daunt the world by making itself look recognizable and easier for itself to be caught. Although no one can ever find an official record of the man. Some had heard that he is known as the Jack from the many folklores and nursery rhymes, yet the world often questions that what would a dangerously clever trickster like the Jack himself, the slaughterer of the Giants and despised by both God and the Devil, could possibly gain from children?

The answer: Nothing. The question the world should focus on instead is what can children gain from the trickster himself?

The answer to that, but the world would never believe in it to be true: Everything.

What the world doesn’t see from these missing reports is they would be done by families or guardians who had been abusive to these children. Jack had been subjected to abuse from his family since he was born until at the age of eighteen, he was kicked out of home from his stepmother who didn’t need him anymore after he had raised so much money by stealing the wealthy materials from the Giants during the beanstalk event, which had even started it because he had traded the last cow for the magic beans when they were in an extremely poor condition. His two brothers had always make him be the one behind them while they would manipulate and belittle him, and his mother and stepmother would always hit or insult him. His father had done the least harmful things to him physically and emotionally, though that wouldn’t ever change the fact that during most of his life, his father had been distant with him still.

Jack despises the idea of children being in a similar situation as him, so despite his own flaws, along with body and living conditions that wouldn’t give him a good position of taking well care of the children, he still tries to take as many as those who would be abused under his wings until they are capable of living on their own, either if they are over age or not, or he can find someone who is willing to adopt them in and treat them better than their previous family. It is extremely rare for him to even allow someone to adopt the child due to his trust issues, believing they would hurt them as well, therefore, he usually takes care of the children by himself ( along with... some help of the Devil at least ) until they are able to live on their own. He does often check on them in secrecy until they are able to get a well paid job and a home in case they still need some assistance. Because Jack’s soul is eternally producing cold temperature from his vessel, he often have to stay in a certain distance from children within his home, or be in a different room from the others to avoid subjecting them to hypothermia. Most interactions with him in a closer distance would set outside since they would be bound to the coldness anyway. Although Jack always make sure to give them extra clothes and blankets to protect them from his cold soul. He gets easily startled when he is hugged by any one of them, especially younger ones, fearing he would harm them, but he tries to remain calm and accept the embrace before quickly distracting them. When they are sleeping, he always make himself sleep outside so, again, they wouldn’t have to experience a lot of coldness from both outside and him.

One of the things Jack is infamous for is his committed acts of robbery, which often occurs from people who are rich and / or have a known history of being an abuser, condoning terrible acts such as rape / incest / pedophilia, etcetera. He does tend to steal food and items from the malls, though what he takes are usually not that valuable. What confuses many people are how often he steals objects that would be deemed strange for him at his age to have, such as toys, video games, and children’s books. Surely, Jack himself doesn’t need them, but yes, while he does find joy in interacting with them, they are mostly for the children, especially those who didn’t have much access to entertainment and educations when they were under an abusive household. He never holds any remorse in his acts, only wanting to provide anything the children needs and wants that they didn’t get before.

When it comes to education, Jack teaches young children what he knows since his time being homeschooled and self teachings, and receive assistance from the teens who wishes to provide more help for the children. Although the major thing that Jack would teach everyone is the art of trickery. While many may think that deceiving is a terrible act, trickery is what got Jack alive in every terrible events he would go through from both the natural order and his family, so he believes that is what will help everyone to be alive for the long run, along with teaching them self defence. Despite him being known to be impatient, he is quite the opposite towards the children, often giving them praises and rewards for good deeds, and encouraging them to continue if they struggle. He gives out a lot of breaks than he should, but if it’s something that keeps the children active and happy, he’ll give it carelessly.

The problem with Jack taking care of children is how he would have to go to Hell during the spring and summer to do his part time job for the Devil, and he doesn’t think it’d be a good idea to have them experience being in the most terrible place in existence, especially it would be traumatizing for the younger ones. This is the main reason why Jack always emphasizes the idea of the children he would take in being a one big family to him because, either if one may hate another or not, Jack gave them the home that they never had before, and without the support and love from each other, this home they all built and held together would only fall apart, so he is mostly strict towards teenagers with the idea of at least trying to give them support while he is absent. Thankfully though, the Devil is kind enough to give him frequent breaks to visit them, though it usually lasts for an hour before he have to go.

It is important to remember that Jack is extremely protective and secretive about his kids. He never tells anyone about this and only lets himself be known as the trickster who would always lie and steal for himself to avoid placing the children in dangerous situations. Though what the world barely knows is he rarely does it for himself, but for his children instead. He can not ever stand the thought of people who were once his age being harmed so often, and the world would simply spin, not even taking a mere glance of how they are truly feeling. Jack is hellbent to give children what they never had once upon a time, and anyone who would try to hurt them while he is around will be sent what can not be even called Hell itself. He made himself the God, but not of anything except the protection of children. Not because they deserve or need any good treatments, but that’s what being a fucking human means:

To be kind. 

Jack knows innocence will always die, but he also thinks that it doesn’t have to end violently.
