Thoughts on scar winning secret life?

it was SOO good and Deserved. i know i’m biased but genuinely it felt like a very satisfying win. the guy who’s known for being shady and decieving winning the Secrets and Deception Season feels very fitting.

scar gets written off as being a goofy airhead in fanon sometimes but he actually has strategy for the social aspect of the game that he talks about in his episode. also HE KILLED SO MANY PEOPLE. the tango kill specifically had me giggling and kicking my feet. the secret keeper gives him tasks that push him away from others, and the more he tries to fight it and make alliances anyways the more it blows up in his face. by embracing what the narrative is asking of him & rising up to be the villain of the server, he wins. it’s so cool, the script goes hard

i love how all the endings thusfar have been very dramatic and emotional (which i love dont get me wrong) especially the past two seasons, and it’s a funny change of pace to have scar be like :J “wow did the guy with no friends actually just win? thats embarrassing for you guys haha”. there’s also a cool parallel to be drawn with the two unallied people (lizzie and scar) place last and first place

i dont know why he pretends not to realize pearl is dead at the end. i’m guessing for comedic effect?? “but tibby he really didn’t notice” Actually when he kills tango in the exact same manner (falling to their death, you don’t see them die but you see the lightning) scar immediately laughs when the lightning strikes. No checking to see if tango is dead- he knows! When the same thing happens to Pearl later on, scar freezes for a good few moments when the lightning strikes so he definitely realizes. and then he just pretends not to realize?? for dramatic or comedic effect?? he’s crazy for this

but uhh yeah scar fans rejoicing worldwide. he’s always established himself as a memorable character across every season but he had never managed to get so close to a win as he did in 3rd life (even if he did win 3l in his own right, fight me) so definitely deserved and a satisfying ending. and on top of everything, he served while doing it 💥

Wooyoung 👉 Everywhere I go I see something which reminds me of this angel of a human being and it makes me smile even when I'm having a grey day. mmm im gonna be fully honest with you, right now all the stories sound like too much so it will probably be a while before i even read them, and same goes for any long lore posts. i fear id get lost 😭 id rather get used to the game itself first? maybe have some general sense of who is who overall? how this works? i think i know too little to jump straight to huge lore rn hdsh but i might ask for it later ^^

20: A song that has many meanings to you

Since whenever I come across anything that could have vague or dual meaning my brain starts to smoke and I can't proceed. And this question makes me think of 'songs you have different interpretations for' and 'a song that you associate with many things'....

So I'm just gonna do both.

For songs that I have a couple of interpretations... There's Penny by Jack Stauber. It's a very short one:

Penny told me that we're all gonna go someday

And it made me mad

Yes, it made me very unhappy

So I told her dad

And he took me into the city

He said son when, you grow up, would you shut up?

Son when, you grow up, just shut up

It's brilliant and I love it : it kinda references the MCR Welcome to the Black Parade, right? Now I'm not going to say anything that's too observant but in MCR's song the narrator's father gives him an inspirational bit of wisdom and here the narrator's friends dad just thinks he's being an annoying brat (and a snitch!).

And it could be just that a short song with a funny twist, but as someone who got my first existential crisis at age 5 i REALLY relate to this song. And I feel like this builds on this feeling of desperation you feel when you're small and you find out everything and everyone is gonna die someday.

So you raise this issue to someone who you think has all the answers. And when you're small, that someone is an adult. And adults have this way of getting really angry when kids ask them questions they can't answer - the friend's dad here is most likely just as horrified by the inevitability of death as the narrator is. So he tells the kid, shut up. I have no idea if this meaning is in any way intented (not that it matters), but that's just how I see this song.

As for songs that has many associations to me... I'd say Once Around The Block but the Kings of Convenience version. I discovered it when I was 14-ish through an Ace Attorney Phoenix/Edgeworth slideshow (and I haven't even played the game then!) and KoC is still one of my most favourite bands of all time. It makes me think of that video, of middle school, of taking walks in the rain when my city was going through big floods, and of a starting not-yet-relationship. It also makes me feel of an imaginary life someone else who isn't me has in my head! Many things.

Oh in repeating myself but Francesca by Hozier! First of all i love that its a Divine Comedy reference, and it's such a beautiful powerful song 😭
