O que é um Olla?

A olla é um pote de barro poroso, tradicionalmente feito à mão e sem esmalte, projetado para uma irrigação eficiente. O termo “olla” vem da palavra espanhola para pote, e estes recipientes têm sido utilizados há séculos pelas comunidades indígenas como um método engenhoso para conservar água e nutrir plantas.

A técnica Ollas trabalha com base no princípio da irrigação por infiltração, um método altamente eficiente e que economiza água. O processo pode ser dividido em algumas etapas simples:

1 - Enterrando a Olla: Cave um buraco no solo onde deseja irrigar suas plantas, garantindo que seja profundo o suficiente para acomodar a olla. Deixe o topo da olla exposto acima do nível do solo para facilitar o acesso.

2 - Enchendo o Olla: Encha o olla com água e cubra-o com uma tampa ou uma pedra plana para evitar a evaporação e a entrada de detritos. A argila porosa permite que a água penetre gradualmente no solo circundante.

3 - Plantando perto do Olla: Plante suas colheitas ou flores ao redor do olla enterrado, certificando-se de que as zonas radiculares de suas plantas estejam dentro do alcance efetivo do olla. Ollas são mais eficazes em pequenos canteiros ou jardins em contêineres.

4 - Infiltração de água: À medida que o solo ao redor da olla seca, a umidade armazenada dentro da olla penetra lentamente na zona radicular circundante. Esta liberação lenta de água garante que as plantas recebam um abastecimento de água consistente e suficiente, ao mesmo tempo que minimiza o desperdício por evaporação.

The art of drawing #learningnewskills

For someone wanting to be an artist, it’s not just about self expression. Art is also a way of communication.

For example people who wore tattoos used to have to earn them, it used to mean something.

But today, if someone wants a pony or a dragon they just go about and get one.

Now in my personal opinion about drawing, i admire those who are able to draw. It is a skill anyone can pretty much learn but takes time energy and determination to be able to do it.

Many people pick up the hobby of drawing when in school, doodling in their notebooks whether they pay attention in class or not, that totally depends on the individual.

However it is in these moments of life where people find what they enjoy doing.

Depending on what is being drawn, psychologist will say that it represents an individuals personality but i disagree. I personally believe some of the doodling can just come from boredom and an escape from the reality of being stuck in a room with people all day everyday and especially around people who we do not like.

Regardless of why people draw, i am personally interested in seeing the progress of what was once a blank canvas turn into a masterpiece.

Let us not forget that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I have been to some galleries and i have seen some work that i personally do not believe deserves to go up on display, but then again maybe it is just some encouragement.

Whatever the story an artist has i am interested in knowing the story behind any piece of work... so if you yourself or someone you know is an artist. please do not hesitate to show me what you have made. i would love to have a discussion and debate about Art.

I am  LONDON based individual who would like to see all arts from different parts of the world and the culture along side innovation.

This picture was taken February 15, 2019 at the new Red Jade Martial Arts school in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I got invited to participate in a masters panel at the grand opening of the new location for. @redjademartialarts. It was an exceptional evening of conversation and demonstration of various martial art styles and disciplines. My favorite part about the whole experience was the sharing of ideas and open communication we all enjoyed and demonstrated as we were asked question by the audience. The next day, Saturday the 16th was a full day of seminars from some amazing teachers and I was lucky enough to share some Baguazhang basics with an enthusiastic group. Few experiences in my martial arts journey can compare to how welcome and at home I felt at the grand opening and the following week I spent helping with the full time students and getting to know the head of @redjademartialarts, Neil Andrew Ripski. Neil and I have both been training in the same branches of Bagua, Xinyi Liu He and Chen Taiji but from completely different sides of the tree. I got to push hands with some seriously skilled players and hang out with some of the nicest people you could imagine. I cannot wait to go back and train with the Red Jade crew again!
