TLC [Shannon Leto] -reupload-
A/N: just a quick one shot Plot: Vikki needs some TLC from Shannon after a concert. Pairing: Shannon Leto X Vikki Warnings: Smut. Language.
--- --- ---
I don’t remember much as I was pulled out from the crush of the crowd trying to get on stage for Closer to The Edge.  What I do remember is the sheer panic of not being able to move or even breathe as everyone pushed through.
The music and noise of the crowd faded together and my chest burns, feels tight; they tell me to take a slow deep breath but that doesn't happen and I black out.
I don't know the timescale that's passed when I open my eyes and find a worried Shannon laying beside me with his arm over my torso.  As I shuffle and look around Shannon jumps awake and pulls me gently towards him into a protective hug.
“I was so fucking worried.” He whispers against my ear.
“What… Happened?” I frown and rub the front of my neck; my throat feeling dry and tight.
“From what the security told me you got crushed when some asshats tried to rush the stage and you had a panic attack and fainted.  Luckily Reni was nearby and got word to our guys so we got you back to the hotel once we knew you were breathing okay.”
“My shoulder fucking hurts.” I wince and rub it carefully.
“It will be. It's pretty bruised so we think you got punched?”
I nod and lean up carefully while Shannon passes me a cold bottle of water, sitting up with me.  “Thanks.” I sip it at first then realise how thirsty I am and drink down half the bottle before Shannon stops me.
“Hey, hey… careful.” He takes the bottle away and puts it on the side; before he turns back to face me I’m already in tears and starting to hyperventilate again, bringing back the feeling of being trapped.
Shannon has always been amazing with my anxiety and this time is no different as he pulls me to sit between his legs and holds my back against his chest, a hand on mine to help guide my breathing until it’s once again calm and there's only soft sobs and his even softer whispers in my ear.
“I’m… I'm sorry.” I sniff and squeeze my eyes tight shut; Shannon hushes me quietly and lays light kisses on my exposed neck and rapidly bruising shoulder.
“You have nothing to apologise for sweetheart.” I feel a shake of his head and a large hand stroking back my unruly hair as I relax against his torso. “How are you feeling? Honestly…?”
“Like an idiot… tired. Still… not right in myself, yet.” I shrug slightly and wince when my shoulder twitches.
“You're not an idiot babygirl.” That same hand that was stroking back my hair circles lightly over my injured shoulder as he tries to figure out exactly what I’d done to it. “You’ll be okay after a good night's sleep. I promise.”
“Don’t know if I’ll be able to.” I half laugh but he knows how serious I am; my mind was already going over the events that had led me to being injured and panicked and there was little that would stop them.
“Well then…” He thinks and tilts his head “I'll just have to give you a helping hand.” The words themselves seem unassuming but the way Shannon says them sends a shiver over my skin bringing up goosebumps.
“...Oh?” I blink a little; it's all I can manage at this point but I say a mental prayer that this 'helping hand’ includes one between my legs.
“Mhmm… you had a perfect view of my back didn't you babygirl?” More kisses over my skin.
“Yup.” I bite my lip as I answer.  Shannon knows very well what it does to me watching him drum from behind and that view has led to many a fun excursion at venues.
“And we didn't get to Christen the venue? Tsk!” I can practically hear his smirk as he speaks. “Well it's a good job we’ll be heading back there again, isn't it?”
I nod in response and try to turn my face to his so I can kiss his lips. My shoulder decides it won't let me do anything and I huff instead when the muscles pull tight and send a shooting pain down my arm.
Shannon moves and shuffles a little, twists himself to kiss me slowly before moving back to sit behind me and rest his hands on my thighs while he lays more light kisses across my shoulders and neck; he knows there are many ways to tease me and this is doing the trick - however with my shoulder injured in whatever way it is, I can't do anything to defend myself or tease him in return.
“Shanny…” I pout and whine his name.
“Vikki…” he mimics my tone perfectly. It’s infuriating and adorable all at the same time. Bastard.
I huff and shuffle myself against him hoping I’ll catch a seam of his bottoms just right; I don't and all Shannon does is chuckle at me.
“Can I help?” He whispers close to my ear.
“You know damn well you can.”
Shannon smiles and nods; his nose running up the side of my neck into my hair while his hands undo my jeans and push them down.  I shuffle myself and help to discard them onto the floor, careful not to jar my shoulder any further.
“Let me do all the work baby.” He kisses behind my ear and moves a hand to rest just inside the band of my panties; just to make sure he teases me fully in my state of complete helplessness.
“Shannon…” I reach back my good arm and stroke his face lightly, feeling his lips press themselves to my palm.
“Okay, okay… no more teasing.” He mutters against my hand and moves his into my panties fully curling his fingers over my clit and circling slowly.  I gasp and lean my head back fully against Shannon’s shoulder; my hips rocking slowly to his fingers.
He whispers sweet nothings and dirty everythings in my ear; just the right combination of both to have my panties soaked within seconds of them leaving his lips. Shannon’s talented fingers dip into me briefly before returning to my clit and varying pressure as they circle over me again; it doesn't take long before my body feels a different kind of ache inside it.  The kind of ache that's only going to get worse before it gets so fucking much better.
I'm squirming on the bed between his legs, somehow I'm not slipping and I'm hoping that I’m not doing any more damage to my shoulder but there's no way I'm about to tell him to stop.
Shannon hums low against my neck and speeds up his fingers against me switching direction and changing pressure as he carefully grips the inner thigh of my left leg.  “Feel good baby?”
“So good!” I moan and arch a little, tilting my hips.
“I want you to cum for me.” Shannon whispers and strokes his thumb over my inner thigh.
“Uh huh!” I pant and whine his name. “Me too!!”
He chuckles and his hand moves a little; I don't know if it’s the pressure change, the rhythm change, the direction change, all the above or something else entirely but that ache suddenly finds its release over Shannon's hand while I moan his name.
The fingers slow and their touch lightens to barely there as my pussy twitches & pulses with my orgasm.
“Think you’ll be able to sleep now?” He whispers.
I nod, already drowsy and feeling more relaxed than I had been.

ROOMIES: three. duties.
Tumblr media
→ CHAPTERS LIST – TWO. LOVERS. WORD COUNT: 3,5k A/N: Took me long enough to release this one, huh? My bad, I completely forgot about it.
MAYA PLOPS down on the sofa tired and sweaty. The apartment was so dirty and messy when she got up that there was no option but to clean it. Thinking about that now, she frowns; it's Shannon's week of cleaning and it seemed like a hurricane had gone through the place.
But now everything is in the right place and it smells like flowers, literally.
Maya hears the door opens and she stays on the sofa, too tired to move. "I'm home!" Jared shouts from the door. "Someone's home?"
"Yes," She says quietly, not even in the mood.
"Hey, sis," Jared says, kissing Maya's head before plopping down on the sofa next to her.
"Hi, Jay," She replies tiredly, glancing at him quickly. "Don't even think about leaving these socks there, I've just cleaned up the whole place," She says, watching him remove his shoes. "And do me a favor, stop throwing them under the bed, it's disgusting."
The woman couldn't even tell what she has found in Jared and Shannon's room while cleaning it. The only places obligatory for cleaning are the common areas, the rooms are out of the jurisdiction, they're not even allowed to get into each other's room without permission. So, the brothers pay her to do that because if it isn't for her, their rooms would be always dirty.
"Okay," Jay nods with a smile. "Why are you cleaning anyway? I thought it was Shannon's week."
"You know, I just realized that but it seemed like the place hasn't been cleaned in weeks!" Maya says and he shrugs off.
"Maybe he's just too busy," He says, trying to defend his brother.
Just as Maya opens her mouth to give a sarcastic reply to Jared, Shannon's storms into the apartment, looking like he wasn't having a good day. He throws his stuff on the dining table and opens the fridge, taking a beer bottle from it.
"Hello to you, too," Maya greets wryly.
Shannon turns to look at them, death in his eyes. "What is it? I'm not in the mood," He says harshly.
Maya quirks an eyebrow. "You're not in the mood? Just so you know, I've cleaned the whole apartment for you," She points out.
"So? Didn't ask you to," Shannon replies, walking towards his room.
Her mouth drops open in surprise. "You know, when someone does something for another, the correct is a "thank you"," Maya shouts to him.
"Again: didn't ask you to!" The older Leto shouts before slamming his door shut.
Maya scoffs. "Unbelievable," She stands up, shaking her head. "Better get your shit together, Shannon! I told you two on the first day that I won't be your fucking maid!" Maya says loudly, slamming her own door shut.
She takes a shower still surprised by Shannon's antics. Of course, she already knew that he is a fucking prick when he's pissed but so is she. And if they both start to mess with Maya, her response is gonna be just as good, they are quite aware of that.
Neither Jared nor Shannon are in the living room when Maya leaves her bedroom. She makes a beeline towards the door and goes to work. The time goes by smoothly, without too many problems, which makes Maya's mood a little better, and the night's classes don't give her the usual headaches.
"Okay, where you want to meet to get this done already?" Maya asks her classmates, glancing up from her fruit salad during the break.
A professor had given the class a small paper and Maya couldn't think about anything but that.
The woman across from her shrugs. "I think we all live in small dorms. There isn't enough space in those cubicles for two people, let alone for six," She scoffs.
"Yeah, and we can't actually talk in the library, so..." Another says.
Maya chews for a bit before realizing what they are implying. "You want to do this in my place?" She asks anyway, looking around the table.
"I mean, I think it's the only place that has space enough for all us," The woman by her side argues.
"Mhm," Shan nods, squinting her eyes. "And this has nothing to do with Jay and Shan?"
"Nooo, not at all," The other five women say in unison.
"Right... You do realize they have, like, lives and jobs of their own and don’t stay home all the time?" She tries again, knowing that the brothers are the reason they want to go to her apartment.
"Look, Maya, this has nothing to do with the Letos," The woman one across from her says. "It's just the place that better fits us all, simply," She says and the others nod in agreement.
"Okay," Maya shrugs, shaking her head.
The women's face goes from surprised by Maya's answer to super excited and they have to mask up the smiles. Maya just wants to laugh at them for the bit of hope in seeing Jared or Shannon while working on the paper, but all she cares about is to do it as soon as possible. So, she arranges the meeting in her apartment on a Thursday that works better for their schedules.
Maya finds out on the weekend that the apartment was so dirty because in the previous week – Jared's week – it wasn't cleaned either. She is pissed for a few minutes but her mind quickly plans another payback. Her week comes around and she completes her tasks normally, as nothing out the ordinary happened. She cleans the boys' room, hers and the rest of the apartment, does the laundry, wash the dishes and everything.
When Jared's week comes again, Maya observes silently. He doesn't do his tasks, as predicted, but she simply doesn't do anything either. Maya keeps her own room organized and clean, does her own laundry, washes her own dishes to eat, and that's how it goes.
In the day the girls are scheduled to come, Maya warns the brothers once again and feels obliged to clean the place. Both Jared and Shannon assures her that they won't bother her or even be home. At first, the girls are disappointed when Maya greets them at the door, alone. Quickly, the dining table is filled with papers, the six women are seated discussing and writing down, all engrossed in work.
Fifteen minutes into that and the door opens. The girls haven't noticed yet, but Maya has. Only by the way he walks, Maya can tell it's Shannon. It takes two seconds for him to show up and he frowns, looking at the crowded dining table. Maya knows he has forgotten and the other women notice his presence when he talks.
"Oh, hello," He greets, opening his perfect smile.
"Hi," The women reply in unison, some with a sigh and others hold their breaths as he makes his way towards the table, straight to Maya.
"Hey, sis," Shannon kisses Maya's head, ‘embracing’ her briefly with one arm.
"Hi, Shan," She gives him a kind smile.
"I know I've told you I wouldn't be home, and I'm probably interrupting," He says, looking at the papers scattered around.
"No, no, you're not, don't worry," The girls are quick in replying, making Shan smile.
"I'll just take a shower and leave," He finishes, looking back at Maya.
"Okay," She nods, not saying anything else.
He smiles again. "Alright," Shannon bends down and kisses Maya's cheek, before moving away. "Excuse me," He says, leaving the room.
Maya looks at her colleagues all staring at Shannon's ass with happy and somehow satisfied faces. "Do you guys need a moment to recompose or what?" She asks, making all of them whip their heads around to look at her.
Smiles fade at Maya's raised eyebrow and the serious environment returns immediately until Jared storms into the apartment. She literally rolls her eyes at her notebook, sighing.
"Oh fuck," Jared curses, seeing the crowded table. "Sorry, babe, I forgot," He says, walking towards the table.
"I've realized," She says under her breath.
"Hello, ladies," Jared smiles them, kissing Maya's cheek too. "Don't worry, I'll shower and leave faster than Flash,"
"You're not interrupting, don't worry," The girls reply and Maya rolls her eyes again.
"Oh, sweet," He smiles, before excusing himself.
Jared's door slams closed, Shannon hasn't come out yet and Maya is able to make her colleagues focused for more twenty minutes. "Maya," Shannon calls, opening his door.
"Oh, fucking God!" She complains, raising her head and looking at the ceiling before focusing on a shirtless and shoeless Shannon. "What is it?"
"I don't have clean shirts and socks," He says, looking at her.
"And what the hell do I have to do with that?" Maya asks.
Shannon frowns, not caring about all the women staring at him with a different range of expressions on their faces. "I figured..." He starts.
"No," She interrupts him. "Get Jared's," Maya looks down at her notebook, ending the conversation.
Shannon growls but doesn't protest, turning around. Not enough time passes by for Jared to show up with nothing more than a towel wrapped around his waist, hair damp and droplets all over his torso. There's a chorus of sighs and Maya doesn't look up this time.
"Maya, I don't have clean underwear and socks and shirts," He says, hands on his hips.
"Then maybe you should do laundry," Maya says simply, still writing.
"Why didn't you did it?" Jared asks harshly, but regrets as soon as she raises her head.
"Excuse me?" The woman asks, not a good face, that infamous eyebrow up.
He loses his composure and attitude. "Uh... I mean..." Jared rambles. "Is your week, right?" He opens a sheepish smile, trying to make things better.
"No, it's your week," Maya corrects, not slightly happy. "Do you need anything else?" She asks harshly.
"N-no, that's all," Jared mutters, feeling uncomfortable.
"Good, get the fuck outta my face," She says.
If he could disappear faster, Jared would have. In the end, neither one of them bothers Maya any further. She doesn't know or care if Jared was wearing pants without underwear or if both brothers were wearing dirty socks and shirts. They simply left fully clothed and she finishes the paper with the most satisfied women ever for seeing one brother half-undressed and the other nearly naked.
The next morning she seats in the kitchen's countertop, sipping from her yogurt as she scrolls through her phone. Shannon wishes her good morning and opens the cabinet to get a mug but finds it completely empty and the sink full of dishes.
"Oh, good Lord, what a fucking mess!" He complains, taking a mug from the very bottom of the sink and making the dishes on top of it collapses down right on his hand. "Motherfucker! Goddamn! Fuck, Fuck! Shit! Asshole! Cocksucker!" Shannon curses loudly, holding his own hand.
Maya watches silently as Shannon paces back and forth, still naming all the swear words that ever existed. Along with that, there's a yelp and a loud thump coming from Jared's room before the door gets jerked open and he comes out of it running.
"A fucking huge cockroach just ran over me," He says, fear in his face.
"Why don't you wash these fucking dishes?" Shannon hisses. "Look at this, a freaking mess!"
"Why don't you do it?" Jared retorts.
"It's your goddamn week!" The older brother argues.
The younger scoffs. "Like you're doing something on your week."
"That's not the damn point! If you were cleaning like you are supposed to, a fucking huge cockroach wouldn't have run over you," Shannon slams his hand in the sink.
The woman places her empty glass on the counter and takes her purse and notebook. The brothers are in a heated argument when she slips out of the apartment, getting a taxi to her morning classes. Maya doesn't see them in the hallways or at lunch and when she returns home after work, it's exactly like she left.
The sink is full of dishes, there's oatmeal all over the countertop with empty packs of every kind of things. On the corner, there are empty beer bottles on the floor. The living room looks like a shoe shop and all the socks in the world are probably there. There’s a blanket on one of the sofas and Maya gets a glimpse of pink underwear.
Making a disgusted face, she rushes towards her clean and organized bedroom, where she spends the most the time now. An hour later, Leo arrives and Maya takes him directly to her room, closing the door behind her. He's the one lucky guy that has piqued her curiosity and they’ve been seeing each other for weeks now. To be quite honest, Maya got interested in him because he's not jealous or intimidated by Shannon or Jared.
There's a knock on her door in the exact moment Maya is on top Leo, making out with him, her shirt is long gone. "Maya," Jared sticks his head inside, looking at her. "We need to talk," He announces, not slightly bothered by the scene in front of him.
She sighs, looking at the man below her. "Hold that thought for a sec," She says, pecking his lips quickly and leaving the bed.
Leo doesn't have time to say to her to put a shirt on before leaving because Maya is already in the living room, wearing only denim shorts and turquoise lace bra. Shannon looks at her and frowns, but he shakes his head and Jared stops by his side.
"What is it? Be quick, I was in the middle of something." She says.
"Right, I'll make it real short: we can't live like this," Shannon says quickly.
Maya frowns. "Like what?" She shakes her head.
"In this mess!" Jared motions around and she rolls her eyes. "No, don't roll your eyes at me. It's disgusting, it's starting to smell like there's a corpse in the bathroom and I don't want to wear a dirty shirt ever again."
"You are cleaning only your room and doing only your laundry," Shannon points out.
"Yeah," Maya nods. "I also wash the dishes I need to eat," She adds.
"This is very selfish of you," Jared says. "We live together for Christ's sake."
Shannon gives Jared a dirty look and Maya quirks an eyebrow at him, but shakes her head, sighing. "Look, I really don't wanna fight over this anymore. On the very first day we moved in together, we established very simple ground rules and we all agreed upon it. One of these rules is the cleaning schedule. I don't know or care who was the first who stopped following it but I also said I ain't gonna be your fucking maid," Maya points out, looking at both brothers. "It's not because I'm a woman that I have to clean and cook for you, and if you two start to expect these things of me, I won't be that person." She says. "We're not in the ‘70s anymore, women go to college and have jobs. Don't expect your future wives to sit around and wait for you, they won't do that either," Maya adds. "Another thing; we also established one rule saying no sex is allowed in common areas and there's a fucking pantie right beside Shannon," She points out and both brothers look at it. "So, don't try to lecture me about who is being selfish or not, I won't do my tasks if you're not doing yours."
Both brothers don't have what to say as they know they’re the wrong ones. So, they just stay in silence, looking at her.
"Anything else?" She asks and when none of them replies, she nods. "Okay."
Maya returns to her room and Leo is on his phone but he forgets it quickly. "Everything okay?" He asks.
She shrugs. "Yeah, just an unscheduled house meeting," She says, climbing on the bed. "Wanna get out of here?" Maya rests her chin on his chest.
"What you have in mind?" Leo asks, playing with her hair.
"Dinner," Maya says. "And then, we can go to your place and you know, discuss that thought," She smirks and bites her bottom lip.
"Let's go," He says, standing up.
Maya chuckles and dresses her shirt, slipping into a pair of Vans. She takes her purse and a jacket, following Leo out of her room and closing the door behind her. The couple bids goodbye to the brothers in the living room and leave.
As soon as the door closes, Shannon looks at Jared and the younger brother nods. With that, they stand up and go find weapons. Some seconds later, both are armed with cleaning gloves, aprons, brushes, squeegees, buckets, vacuum and everything else. They start with their own rooms: dirty clothes are gathered in a huge pile, bed sheets are changed, garbage is dumped in a bag, and cockroaches are killed.
While the washing machine works, the dishes are washed and put away, the countertop is cleaned and so is the fridge. There is a rock-paper-scissors moment to decide who's gonna clean the common bathroom while the other vacuums the entire apartment; Shannon wins and Jared has to clean the bathroom while trying to hold his vomit in.
Quickly the apartment is smelling like flowers, something that hasn't happened for over a month. Jared and Shannon are both exhausted but very pleased with their work. But before parting ways to their bedrooms for a shower, they reorganize the cleaning schedule again, to work this time.
In the meanwhile, Maya has a quiet romantic dinner with Leo. Then they go to his place and watch Netflix before falling asleep. In the morning, Maya fulfills her promise before going back to her apartment. The fresh smell of cleaning products and air freshener fills her nostrils as soon as Maya opens the front door.
Out of habit, she takes a deep breath, trying to take it all in. In the kitchen, Jared and Shannon are sitting on the countertop. As always, Jared has an oatmeal bowl and Shannon has his coffee mug. They are all smiling, talking about the girls they shared.
"Kate or Katherine... Or Karen..." Jared makes a face, trying to remember the girl's name.
"Med school?" Shannon asks.
"Yeah, yeah!" The younger nods.
Shan nods too. "Did that one, too."
"Good one," Jared recalls.
"Are you two doing that again?" Maya asks, making both of them turn their heads to look at her. "Already told you that's disgusting," She remarks, walking into the kitchen.
"Hey! Good morning, sis!" Jared smiles at her.
She opens a side smile. "Morning, bros."
Shannon kisses the top of her head and gives her a mug. "It's just the way you like it," He winks at her, motioning to the coffee.
"Mhm..." Maya hums, filling the mug.
"Had a good night?" Jared asks, mouth full.
"Yeah, slept a lot," She nods, sipping from the drink. "Perfect, Shan."
He smiles at her compliment. "But I thought you were in the middle of something last night..." Shannon recalls, making a face.
Maya raises her eyebrows before taking off her jacket. "Well, I keep my promises," She says, pulling her shirt down to show more skin.
The boy's eyes look at the hickeys spread on and near to her breasts, the purple marks almost imperceptible in the brown skin. "How old is this guy? Fifteen?" Jared scolds.
"So, it's serious then?" Shannon asks, looking at Maya.
"I mean," She starts, leaning on the countertop. "I like him. A lot. But I don't know if I want a serious relationship..."
"We don't..." Jared starts, shaking his head. "We don't give relationship advice..."
"For obvious reasons," Shannon completes, making Maya chuckle. "But we do punch guys that hurt our little sis," He says and Jared nods in agreement.
"I love you guys," She says, making a face.
"We love you, too," Jared winks at her. "So... We cleaned up," He says.
Maya looks around, everything organized and smelling good. "I've realized," She nods. "It smells amazing."
"We also reorganized the cleaning schedule," He adds. "Starting next week with Shan since today's Saturday."
"And we'll do our tasks and we won't break ground rules again," Shannon says.
"And we want to apologize for being assholes," Jared adds.
Maya opens a smile after a while. "I'm happy with that and I accept the apology," She nods with a smile. "But I want to know if we're going to Tomo's party today."
Shannon and Jared beam at her and they start to talk about the party. One minute into the argument if Maya should or not bring Leo to the party, Jared's phone buzzes beside his bowl. He takes it and kinda pales seeing the text he got.
"You okay, Jay?" Maya asks, realizing he is now silent.
Jared looks up at Shannon. "Mom's coming."

ROOMIES: one. introductions.
Tumblr media
→ CHAPTERS LIST WORD COUNT: 2,3k A/N: Here’s something I’ve written a long time ago and decided to bring back to Tumblr. Also, Maya’s appearance is based on Esha Gupta.
THE FIRST one she meets is Shannon, in a club, of course.
As an Indian descendant, Maya's skin color is a light brown, just like the tan that girls look forward to when going to the beach; her hair is black and her eyes are brown. Sometimes, Maya's friends say she looks like Angelina Jolie because of her plump lips and body and, altogether, her appearance has an effect on guys that is incredible.
And that's why she meets Shannon. He approaches Maya in the bar with a grin on his face, so full of himself. "What a beautiful lady is doing at a bar by herself?" He asks, leaning on the counter in front of her.
First, Maya frowns, looking at him, then she chuckles. "Oh, honey, I think you're not paying attention; a girl like me is never alone," She says, winking at him.
Shannon clearly understands that as flirt and proceeds. "I'm Shannon, Shannon Leto," He offers his hand.
"Maya," She takes his hand and Shannon brings it to his lips, kissing the back of her hand.
"What brings you here?" Shannon asks, trying to chat.
"Drinks," The woman raises her glass.
Shannon chuckles. "To America," He adds.
"I am American," The woman rolls her eyes. "Yes, Indian descendant, but American."
"Mhm," He nods, taking a sip of his beer and opening his smirk again. "And how can I bring you to my bed?" Shannon asks.
Maya laughs loudly at his poor attempt. She gets up from her seat and moves closer to him. "Try harder," She says, clinking her glass on his beer bottle and moving away quickly.
The civil engineering student doesn't dare to go after her, he just watches Maya disappears into the crowd in stunned silence. He had never been turned down before.
And this is Maya and Shannon's first encounter.
It's not unusual for different courses to have the same classes. Economic and management courses are often paired together to have statistics classes. That means Jared (a management student) and Maya (an econ student) share the classroom two times a week, but she has never paid attention to him before.
Later the same week that she had met Shannon, the statistics professor gives the class a paper to be done in groups previously chosen by him. And guess who's in Maya's group? Yes, Jared Leto. It takes him, literally, a minute to hit on her.
"Maya, huh?" Jared opens a smirk to her. "How did I've never noticed such a cute girl in my class?"
She sighs, tired already. "Maybe because you've never looked at anyone else besides yourself?" Maya raises an eyebrow.
Jared's narcissism doesn't go unnoticed; the guy loves himself more than his own mother, probably.
He frowns, not failing in noticing her feistiness, but he doesn't have time to reply to the woman's comment because she's talking again. "You're Leto, right?" She asks and he nods. "Are you related to Shannon Leto somehow?"
Jared frowns, nodding again, slower this time. "Yeah, he's my brother. Why?" He tilts his head, mentally cursing his brother for doing her first.
The woman shrugs. "I've met him a few days ago," She says, looking back at the whiteboard. "You two are clearly related," She whispers more to herself than to him, but Jared catches it.
"Have you two..." Jared trails off.
Maya opens a smile while putting her notebook into her purse. "Oh, he wishes. And so does you," She says, getting up from her seat and leaving the classroom quickly.
Her friends think she's insane to have turned down both Leto brothers. Apparently, they are the most desired guys on the campus and turn them down is almost a sin to girls. Maya doesn't care about how crazy they think she is, the Leto brothers also have a reputation. And it is not a good one.
As good-looking guys, they can get any girl they want – well, not Maya, obviously, – and the affair doesn't last longer than one night, the 'luckiest' ladies get the second night and that's all. Never a call or a text. That is what Shannon and Jared Leto are: fuckboys.
"Oh my God," One of Maya's friend says, looking at something behind her. "It's them."
Maya frowns. They're at a party at the campus’ park, on the weekend, and she's with a group of friends, holding a red cup just like everyone else. She has a simple outfit; denim shorts, tank top, sandals and a Mang Teeka on her head, and the least makeup possible. Even that simple, she's able to draw attention.
"Whoa, they're coming this way," She adds.
Suddenly, all the three girls around Maya starts smoothing their clothes to look more presentable. Trying to understand the reason for that, the Indian girl turns her head around to see what her friend has pointed out seconds earlier. Shannon and Jared Leto are coming towards the small group of women with their sunglasses and bad boy style, making several other women glance at them as they pass by.
Maya rolls her eyes, watching them come directly towards her. She turns her body fully in their direction and waits for them. "Hey," Jared greets with a smirk.
"Really? The two of you at once?" Maya raises an eyebrow. "Who's gonna be the first? C'mon, hit me."
Shannon chuckles, amused by her. "You look pretty today. Not that you're less pretty on the other days," He says.
"I really am," Maya agrees, looking at him and then shifting her eyes to Jared. "Your turn."
"I've texted you," Jared starts. "About the paper."
"Yes, I ignored it," Maya nods. "It's the weekend, I don't discuss papers on weekends, especially when there's a text group for it and you text me privately about it. Anything else?"
The younger brother looks at the older and they share a small smile. "I play guitar," Jared says, looking back at her.
She raises an eyebrow again. "So?" Maya shakes her head slightly. "Was this supposed to be something to make me get super excited about?"
"Maya!" One of her friend's scolds, glaring at her.
"I am excited about it," Another friend says and Maya gives her a look.
"Shut up and listen!" Shannon says and this surprises Maya, who raises both eyebrows but doesn't say a word. Pleased with that, the man continues. "Jay plays guitar and sings, I play drums and we have some friends that play, too. We're throwing a small get together in our frat house tonight. If you're interested, just show up," He shrugs.
"Your friends can come along if you do," Jared adds quickly, making grins show up on her friends' faces.
"She will," Maya's friend assures, making both brothers smile.
"Excuse me?" She looks at her. "I can speak for myself, thanks."
"But will you?" Shannon asks, looking at her.
Maya turns back to him. "I'll give a thought about it," She says sincerely. "That's not a yes," Maya adds.
The older Leto nods, smiling and realizing it was the better he could get from her. After that, Jared and Shannon bid their goodbyes and leave the women, but are not so far away when they hear Maya's friends squealing and pleading her to go.
The rest of the party is almost unbearable for Maya because her friends won't stop bugging her to go to the Leto's party. It only makes her more unwilling to go, but at eleven, she walks into the frat house, wearing a loose sweater dress and ankle boots.
Guys turn their heads as the maroon-skinned woman passes by, displaying a smile on her pretty face. Only two of her friends are with her (the conditions to go is that none of them can have a one-night stand with the brothers) and the trio tries to walk further into the house.
Although Shannon said it was gonna be 'a small get together', the frat house is crowded and it is impossible to give two steps before stopping and asking people to move.
Halfway towards what Maya judged to be the living room, she runs into a guy. "Sorry," The guy turns to look at her and Maya raises her head to see a smirk forming on Shannon's face. "Oh, hey! You came!" He cheers.
"Well, yes," She nods. "A small get together, huh?" Maya raises her eyebrow and he smiles widely, now sure that is her thing.
He nods too. "Yeah. You should see the big ones," Shannon chuckles and she does too, which surprises him. "Hey, I don't see drinks in hands," He points out, looking down at the women's hands. "Here, take this, I'll get some for your friends too."
Shannon shoves his blue cup into Maya's hands and vanishes looking for drinks for her friends. The girl looks down at her hands to the cup's content, apparently, it is beer, but Maya smells it anyway, unsure if it is safe to drink from an unknown's cup.
Even though Shannon is a fuckboy, Maya doesn't think he's the type that drugs girls to get what he wants. So, she shrugs off and brings the cup to her lips, taking a sip from it. As quickly as he disappeared, Shannon comes back with more two blue cups and gives it to her friends.
"C'mon, we're taking music suggestions," Shannon says, taking her hand and dragging her across the house.
"What?" Maya asks, trying to follow him.
"Music suggestions," He repeats. "Did you forget that we play?" Shannon comes to a stop, right in the middle of the living room where the instruments are set up and Jared is hanging out with some friends. "Look who I've found."
Jared's blue eyes lands on the woman. "Damn," He says simply, taking his wallet out and handing Shannon fifty bucks.
Maya frowns, not liking it. "Did you two bet on me?" She asks, looking at them.
"Well..." Jared starts, scratching the back of his neck.
"Have you ever considered that I can leave at any moment?" Maya adds. "How 'bout now? C'mon," She turns around to her friends, ready to leave.
"What?" One of her friends asks, disappointment clear in her voice. "We just arrived."
"And now we're leaving," The woman says.
"No, no, no, don't go," Shannon rushes to stop her. "Sorry 'bout that, we're idiot frat guys. But, stay," He pleads.
"That you are," Maya agrees, pissed about their childish behavior but she gives Shannon a small nod, deciding to stay when she looks deep into his eyes. "Fine."
"Lemme introduces you to the guys," He says, motioning to the people sitting around. "That's Tomo, culinary; Vicki, Tomo's girl, veterinary; Emma, you know," Shannon says and Maya nods to the woman. Emma is a management student too, in Jared's class, therefore, she's in statistics class too. "Jamie and Stevie, something about computers, I don't know."
"Computer science," Both the guys reply in unison tiredly, making Maya chuckle.
"What do you want to hear, milady?" Jared asks.
"Oh, nothing," Maya says, sitting beside one of his friends. "I have no desire to hear your voice."
Stevie laughs at her comeback. "She's feisty."
She quirks an eyebrow. "And you know me for like thirty seconds to say I'm feisty, Stevie, something about computers?" Maya says, repeating what Shannon said when introducing him.
"Computer science," Jamie repeats.
"Oh, yes, that. Whatever," She shakes her head.
"I like you," Stevie, something about computers, decides and Maya smiles.
"Have you heard a song named Where the Streets Have No Name?" One of Maya's friends asks, making Jared look at her.
"Yeah, U2," He nods, opening a smile.
She nods. "Exactly, can you play it?"
"Sure I can, sweetheart," Jared opens his knee-weaker smile at her, making the girl sigh.
Maya rolls her eyes at her friends while the boys make their way to the instruments. Shannon goes to his drums, Tomo picks a guitar, Jamie picks an acoustic guitar, Stevie picks a bass and Jared goes for the microphone. He starts singing softly and the woman has to admit that he has a nice voice and, in a matter of seconds, everybody is chanting the song with them.
The smile and laugh of the Indian descendant is a victory for both brothers and she keeps doing it for the rest of the night. For her, it turns to be better than she thought it would be. Even having to turn down both brothers again, they are nicer than she thought they were.
"So, you're Indian," Tomo asks, looking at Maya.
"Well, fifty percent. My mother is one-hundred percent. I'm American, born and raised," She replies, smiling at him.
"Your dad?" Vicki is the one asking now.
"Totally American, white ass boy," Maya says, chuckling with both of them.
"How did they met?" She asks, interested.
"My mom was a dancer and my dad is a very successful entrepreneur. He was on a business trip and the Indian company or whatever it was that he was working with hosted a party. Mom was one of the dancers hired to entertain and make the Americans invest. She met my dad and... Me!" Maya chuckles again, opening her arms.
"Did he invested?" Jared asks, smiling.
Maya smiles at him. "I don't know, I guess," She laughs. "How about you?"
"I'm one-hundred percent Croatian. Born in Sarajevo then moved to America when I was 17," Tomo explains.
"Oh, nice," Maya nods. "And you're Australian, right?" She turns to Emma.
They chat during the whole party and Maya gets to know a little bit more about the brothers. They left Bossier City, Louisiana, with their mother, who raised them as a single parent, their father died when they were kids and they didn't get to know him. And the main reason for both of them to be there (in a university) is to make their mother proud of what they had become.
Maya starts to respect them for that and they start a different relationship after that. First step: acquaintances with more politeness on Maya’s part. Second step: very good friends.
Once Shannon and Jared realized Maya isn't gonna sleep with them at any cost, they accepted the fact that she's only a very good friend.

TWO MONTHS later and the trio is inseparable. All the women envy Maya because she's the one around the Letos 24/7. Some people think she fucked both of them, some think she still does and the brothers are okay in sharing but, in reality, they're just really good friends.
When a drama starts to annoy both the boys and Maya that they stop to think what's better for them. Apparently, a frat-mate is accusing both Jared and Shannon of sleeping with his girlfriend & Maya's roommate has a strange voyeur fetish.
Jared sighs, sitting next to Maya. "Aw man, this thing is getting on my nerves," He says, rubbing his face.
"It’s already got on mine," Shannon says, sipping his coffee.
Maya glares at them, holding her coffee cup in her hands. "But," She starts, making them look at her. "Have you done that?" She asks, squinting her eyes a bit.
Shannon opens a smirk and so does Jared, looking at one another. "Have you?" Jared raises his eyebrow, looking at Shannon.
"I did, you?" The older brother confirms.
"I did it, too," Jared laughs slightly and Maya gives them a disgusted face.
"Ugh!" She scoffs. "I can't believe this, ew! You guys are disgusting!" Maya shakes her head, trying to clear the image that just popped up in her mind.
"What?" Shannon asks, laughing. "You asked!"
"Still!" The woman widens her eyes, shaking her head. "How could you do that to your frat-mate?"
"Well, if his girl wasn't such a slut," Jared shrugs off like that's nothing. "I'm pretty sure she started to date him so she could hang out in the house to get to us," He says and Shannon nods, agreeing with his brother's theory.
"You guys are so sure of yourselves, I can't believe that!" Maya chuckles, taking a sip of her coffee.
"We can," Shannon gives her a cheeky smile.
"We have all the girls we want," Jared adds, smirking.
"Not me," Maya points out and opens a cocky smile.
Both brothers lose their composure, remembering that Maya is the one that got away. "Who's being sure of oneself now?" Shannon asks, raising an eyebrow.
"Mhm," Maya hums, chuckling at them.
Jared leans back in his chair. "And how's your roommate?" He asks, changing the subject.
Maya rolls her eyes and growls at the mention. "Getting creepier as the days passes by," She says.
Shannon chuckles. "What's new?"
"Besides the fact that I can't stay in my own room?" Maya asks, raising her eyebrow. "Totally fine that she has a boyfriend and all, but she doesn't respect the privacy rule, she already ran into me with a guy two times..."
"You were with a guy two times?" Jared asks, with a frown.
"No, don't be a moron. It was two different guys," Maya rolls her eyes again, making the brothers chuckle. "And, once, she was peeking through the door! That chick is crazy!" She shakes her head.
"Oh, man. What are we gonna do with our lives?" Jared asks, looking up at the ceiling as a husky laugh comes from the back of his throat.
Shannon pushes his sunglasses to the bridge of his nose, watching the movement on the sidewalk outside the coffee shop. "Sometimes I think that if we lived together, it wasn't gonna have all these ridiculous dramas," He comments.
"Mhm," Jared nods, agreeing with his brother.
Maya stays quiet, thinking about what he just said. She bites her lips, trying to list the pros and cons of living with both her best friends. But her track of thoughts is interrupted by a text message, warning her that she has to go back to work.
"Uh," Maya mutters, collecting her things and taking her cup of coffee. "I have to go, I'll see you guys later," She says, kissing Jared's cheek and then Shannon's.
"Bye, Ganesha," Jared says, smiling.
"I already told you that Ganesha is a god, he is male!" Maya says, rolling her eyes.
"But he looks a cute female elephant," He argues, making the woman shake her head.
"I don't know why I insist," She says to herself, walking away.
"Hey, I'll pick you up," Shannon yells to her from afar and Maya raises a thumb up, without turning around.
The brothers stay in the coffee shop just for a few more minutes before returning to their jobs as well. Maya finds hard to focus on her task with what Shannon said on her head. She so distracted that she doesn't realize she's searching for apartments when she's supposed to be analyzing numbers.
Fortunately, the afternoon goes quickly and Maya's packing her things to go. Shannon is already waiting for her in the parking lot and she rushes to the elevator, bidding goodbye to her coworkers on the way out. From afar, the woman sees her best friend on his phone, sitting in the driver's seat while heavy metal blows from the stereo of his classic Ford Mustang.
She opens the passenger's door, making Shannon look her way. "Hey, handsome," Maya greets, sitting beside him.
"Hi, hottie. How's the rest of your day?" He asks, starting the car.
"Chaotic at best," She replies with a sigh. "C'mon, I'll buy us food and let's head to your frat house."
Shannon grimaces at the mention of the house. "Really? I was thinking of dropping you off in your dorm and go spend the night with a random girl to not go there," He says.
"Yeah, I have something to discuss with you and Jay," Maya says, changing the music to something she likes too.
The man makes another face, turning to look at her. "Are we screwed?" He inquires, making Maya chuckle.
"No, you silly. Just drive!"
They go to a drive-thru and Maya pays for burgers and fries to the three of them, along with a big bottle of coke. Then, Shannon drives to his frat house with no desire to come inside. He parks the car nearby and takes the food, leaving Maya only with the bottle. She opens the door and closes when Shannon passes by.
"Finally decided to get back home, Leto?" Hastings, one of the guys who lives there, says.
"Not voluntarily," Shannon mumbles, not looking their way. "Oh, God help me!"
Maya turns to the stairs to see Piper (the girl both brothers slept with and the source of all the issues) coming down with her boyfriend, John.
"Hi, Shan," Her high pitched voice makes Maya cringe. "How're you doing?"
"Better if I hadn't seen your ugly face," He says under his breath, lowering his face.
"What did you say, Leto?" John asks, climbing down one more step.
Maya puts herself in front of Shannon. "Maya," Piper says, her venom dripping from her words.
"Piper," Maya mimics her, shaking her head a bit. "Could you politely remove your slutty face outta my way?" She asks with the most beautiful fake smile she has.
"Who are you to talk to my girlfriend like this? We all know you're constantly sucking his and his brother's dick," John accuses Maya, trying to defend his girlfriend.
"Who the hell you think you're talking to?" Shannon gives a step forward, ready to defend Maya too, but the woman places a hand on his chest, with a smile on her face.
"Do I now?" Maya raises an eyebrow, looking at John. "Ever heard me with them? I don't think so. And it'd be pretty hard to keep it low because both of them are quite gifted, unlike you..." She trails off, lowering her eyes to John's pants. "As for your girlfriend," Maya looks up at his face again. "At least I don't pretend to date a loser so I can hang out on his frat house to get closer to the hottest brothers in the whole university."
John’s jaw almost drops to the floor and Piper doesn't dare to say a word to defend herself, too shocked by what the woman has said. Pleased with that, Maya takes Shannon's hand and pulls him upstairs, walking towards Jared's room. She stops in front of his door and knocks before getting inside.
"Jay, I'm coming in, I've brought food," She says and doesn't wait for his answer, pushing the door open.
Jared shirtless on his bed, wearing shorts and there's a girl with him, wearing one of his flannel shirts. At least they're not fucking because Maya had already walked into both brothers doing that. She doesn't care about the girl and gets into the room anyway with Shannon behind her.
"Oh, didn't know you had company. I've brought food only for the three of us," Maya says, putting her purse on Jared's writing-table.
"No problem, I don't eat at night," The girl says.
"Alicia, right? Law?" She asks, looking at her.
"Correct," The girl smiles and Maya nods.
"Maya, econ," She introduces herself, seeing that Jared has no desire to do so.
"What's this about?" He asks, sliding to the floor where Shannon and Maya had sat with the food in the middle. "I thought you were gonna sleep elsewhere," Jared looks at Shannon.
The older brother nods, taking one burger out for him as Maya put coke in four cups. "I was but she said she has something to discuss with us," Shannon nods to their friend.
Jared makes a face, holding his burger. "Are we screwed?" He asks, looking at Maya.
She chuckles, shaking her head. "No! God, you two are eager for some trouble," Maya says, biting her burger.
They make small talk for a bit while eating the burgers. Jared's company didn't say anything, she only drank the coke and ate some fries, even though she said she didn't eat at night. Leaning on Shannon's shoulder, Maya picks some fries, sipping her coke from time to time.
"Alright Maya, what is it? I'm curious," Jared inquires.
"Me too," Shannon agrees.
"Mhm, okay," She says, moving away from Shannon. "So, I've spent the whole afternoon thinking about what Shan said at the coffee shop earlier," Maya starts.
Jared frowns. "That we can be sure of ourselves because we have all the girls we want?" He asks, not caring about Alicia, who gives him a look.
Maya makes a face. "No, 'bout if we lived together," She corrects.
"Oh..." Both brothers murmurs in unison.
"I've been thinking about it, the pros and cons, and everything, but why not?" She asks. "You two are having problems here, soon or later you'll be kicked out. I have a crazy roommate... It wouldn't be bad. We all have jobs, we could split the rent, we understand ourselves better than anyone else, and everything in your rooms is yours. I'm the one losing here 'cause I don't even have a bed, so... What do you guys think?" Maya looks at the two of them.
"I mean, it's not a bad idea," Shannon says, scratching the stubble on his chin. "But where?"
Maya nods, standing up. "Mhm, I've got it. I've been searching, too," She says, taking her iPad from her purse and sitting down again. "Come here Jared," Maya calls him, scrolling through the device and he obeys, moving to sit right next to her. "So, I've been looking for three-bedroom apartments nearby the campus."
It takes the amount of twenty minutes for Maya to convince them and another hour speaking excitedly about it. They realize that it’s got too late when Jared's date starts to snore softly on his bed. Exchanging a look, Maya and Shannon stand up from the floor, Jared helps them clean up the food content and they bid goodnight, walking out Jay's room.
"Can I sleep with you?" Maya asks, looking at Shannon. "I really don't want to go back to Norman Bates," She makes a face.
Shannon chuckles at her comparison. "Sure thing, hottie," He nods, smiling.
"Ah! I love you! Here, take my things and I'll put these things in the trash," Maya says, giving him her purse and taking the things from his hands.
Shannon obeys, walking towards his door and unlocking it while Maya walks downstairs to throw the trash away. She ignores the other residents and walks straight to the kitchen, putting everything into the trashcan. On her way back upstairs, Maya gets catcalled but simply raises her middle finger at the assholes, not feeling slightly attacked by it.
She gets into Shannon's room without knocking and it's empty, but the shower is running and Maya knows he's in the bathroom. Waiting for him, the woman simply keeps searching for places on her iPad. Soon, Shannon emerges from the bathroom and gets her a clean towel and some of his clothes so Maya can take a shower too.
In a matter of minutes, they're both curled up together in his blankets. There isn't anything sexual about that and Maya drifts into sleep happily on her best friend's arms, glad to not be afraid to open her eyes and see her roommate watching her sleep. The morning comes quickly and Shan drives the trio to Maya's dorm so she can change for class and when she receives goodbye kisses from both brothers, several envious glances are thrown at her.
Maya finds them a perfect apartment in the afternoon and they're signing the rent papers at the weekend, moving in the other weekend. The boys' room is completely emptied from the frat house and Maya got all her stuff from her dorm, which is basically her clothes.
Shan's TV is gonna be in the living room temporarily, with folding chairs as a sofa, also temporarily. Maya would have to share a bed with them until she gets money to buy one to herself, making them take turns in bringing girls to their new place or simply going to their places instead and leaving Maya with the bed for the night.
With the savings Maya had, she chose to invest in a stove and a fridge, along with the boys' help too. Their apartment has three bedrooms, the first and only demand was that each room gets its own bathroom. The brothers kindly allow Maya to take the bigger bedroom, which is empty for now. There is a nice kitchen, a small but nice laundry room, a living room, and a social bathroom.
Their new place is cute.
"We need to establish ground rules right away," Maya says, sitting on the living room floor with the brothers and biting her pizza.
"Agreed," Shannon says, mouth full.
Jared nods, looking at Maya. "Want to start?"
"Mhm," She nods. "No orgies, for starters," She raises both eyebrows.
Shannon laughs. "Damn! You're such a spoilsport!" He looks at Jared.
"Yeah, I know some heavy stuff happens in that frat house," She points out.
"We never took part in that," Jared says. "Unlike people think, I don't like to share," He smirks.
"Yeah, and those idiots can't actually compete with us 'cause, you know," Shan wiggles his eyebrows. "That gifted thing..."
Maya rolls her eyes. "Anyway... No sex in the kitchen, no sex in the laundry room, no sex on the sofa, no sex on the dining room table..." She counts on her fingers and Jared makes a face at each prohibited space.
"And we're gonna have sex where?" He asks.
She gives him a pointed look. "Try in your bedroom, in your bed," Maya says.
Jared shakes his head. "That's not fun, you ruled out all the fun places,"
"We don't even have a sofa nor a dining table," Shannon remembers.
"But we will," Maya says. "No parties either, we can have fun with other's parties. The landlord said he's against it, anyway."
"Fine by me," Shan nods.
"Yeah, me too," Jared nods. "Don't feel like having people around my stuff."
"I don't wanna see guys wandering around naked," Shannon says, looking at Maya.
"I don't wanna see girls wandering around naked either," She adds.
"So, no wandering around naked," Jared says.
"And we need a cleaning schedule 'cause I ain't gonna be a fucking maid," She says and both brothers grimaces at ‘cleaning schedule’.
The first rule to be broken is the wandering around naked because their ‘guests’ don't know about the other residents. Maya's dad sends money to her against her will and she confronts him about that, but she ends up buying her bed after all. Slowly, as months passes by, their apartment gradually acquires more furniture, starting to look even more like there are people living in it.
Maya wakes up to the unpleasant sound of female giggles coming from the hallway and one of the boys shushing it. She groans and rubs her face, checking her phone to see what times is it. After that, she gets out the bed and into her bathroom, getting some morning hygiene done before leaving the room.
"Morning, handsome," She says to Shan who's sitting on the countertop, with his back turned to Maya.
"Morning, hottie," He replies, turning to look at her as she passes by.
She scolds, looking at the blonde wearing only lingerie. "Do you have clothes?" Maya asks with a face, making her way to the fridge.
"Do you?" The girl retorts and Maya takes her head out of the fridge to look at her with an eyebrow up.
"This is my apartment, I can walk around as I wish. You're just the disposable girl who won't get a call, don't get your hopes up," Maya says with her devilish smile. "Where are you getting this low stuff, Shan?" She asks, looking back at the fridge.
"Maya..." Shannon hisses, just to keep things civil.
"Where the hell is my yogurt?" Maya asks, looking at the empty space in the fridge.
Shannon looks at the girl by his side, sipping from Maya's yogurt, but he doesn't say anything. Eventually, the Indian descendant looks around to face the woman, slamming the fridge door shut, and then the blonde realizes.
"Oh, I thought there was no problem," She says.
Maya looks at her, taking the yogurt pot from her hands. "There is," She says, emptying it into a cup and making Shannon chuckle.
"Good morning family!" Jared cheers, walking into the kitchen. "And stranger," He adds, looking at the half-naked blonde.
Their best friend glances over Jared's guest and closes her eyes, taking a deep breath. "I really hope that's not my cereal bar," Maya wishes, eyes still closed.
But it is, she knows it. "What?" Jared asks, looking at his girl.
She opens her eyes and sighs, shaking her head. "I'm gonna get changed for class," Maya says, leaving the untouched glass of yogurt behind.
Maya closes her bedroom door and the brothers look at each other, already knowing she's upset. She changes into a crop top, high-waisted denim pants, and combat boots. Maya applies light makeup and leaves her hair loose, taking her purse and notebook before leaving the bedroom.
"Are you upset?" Shannon asks, stopped with Jared in front of her door.
"No, I'm not," Maya lies. "I'm gonna go."
"So, just wait to us get ready and I'll take you," Shannon stops her.
"Yeah, get some breakfast in the meanwhile," Jared nods.
"Not hungry anymore," She says, pushing past them. "See you guys at lunch."
Just like that, they watch Maya leaving their apartment, slamming the door shut after her. Jared and Shannon look at each other at the same time and jump slightly at the loud thump.
"She's upset," Jared says.
"Yeah," Shannon agrees, walking away to his room.
Maya just sees them again in lunch, as she promised. She avoided them in the hallways in between classes but she couldn't avoid them for lunch. The woman sits at their usual table in the usual diner. The lack of breakfast made Maya starving and she didn't wait for them to order her food, but eventually, Jared and Shannon get into the diner.
"Whoa, thanks for waiting!" Jared says offended, taking a seat in front of her.
She looks at him. "Pardon, it's all my fault. I skipped breakfast today," Maya says sarcastically.
Shannon sighs, sitting by his brother's side. "Maya, we're sorry about that. Can we please be okay?" He asks, looking at her.
Maya stares at them for a second, before shaking her head and rolling the spaghetti in her fork. "I don't like when your dates eat my food, our food. Can't you two just fuck and tell them to leave?" She asks, putting the spaghetti into her mouth.
"Wouldn't that be just mean? Women don't like to be fucked and told to leave," Jared argues.
"Why do you think you never see a guy walking around our place?" She raises an eyebrow.
Shannon smiles. "Wait, you fuck and tell them to leave?" He chuckles.
"Of course! That's what casual sex is about!" Maya gives them a deadpan look. "Plus, our apartment is not a hotel so they can spend the night in. I hate clingy guys and cuddle after sex," She rolls her eyes.
"Oh, Maya! You're amazing!" Shannon says, laughing. "SO romantic!"
But Jared shakes his head. "No, it doesn't work this way," He claims.
Maya stares at him. "Okay," She nods simply, a plan in mind.
That night, she takes a guy over after a party. Maya doesn't know if the brothers are home or if they have someone over too, but she doesn't care, it's her payback. After sex, even hating it, she allows the guy to stay the night and cuddle, waking up the next morning to have him kissing her shoulder blade.
Maya scolds at the feeling and it's tempted to send the guys home right away, but then she remembers why he's there. Putting a fake smile on, she lets him kiss her and soon they're out the bedroom. Maya is not ashamed of the fact that she doesn't even remember his name and doesn't care that he's only with his boxer briefs in the kitchen.
She smiles silently when he takes Shannon's coffee mug and Jared's oatmeal, but she doesn't say a word. They chat for a bit while she makes her own breakfast and soon enough she hears the doors being open.
"Morning, hottie," Jared says, walking towards the kitchen.
"Morning, hottie," Shan repeats, behind his brother.
The sound of the brothers makes the guy in front of her self-conscious about his dressing choice or lack thereof.
"Morning boys," Maya hides her devilish smile with her coffee mug. "These are my brothers," She points out to the guy in front of her.
"Hey," He waves at Jay and Shan sheepishly.
"Is this my coffee mug?" Shannon asks, pointing at the mug the guy's using.
"Eh?" Jared takes the empty box of oatmeal. Then he glances over the bowl in Maya's guest is using. "Are you eating oatmeal?" He asks.
"Yeah," The guy replies sheepishly.
Shannon and Jared both look at Maya and she gives them the most neutral, poker face she has. Without saying anything else, Jared gets cereal and Shannon takes another mug, both against their will. Happy with the result of her payback, Maya only tolerates the guy for a little longer.
"Alright, Stuart, time to go," She says, losing her patience.
The guy makes a face, looking at her. "What?" He asks. "It's Steven," He corrects.
Jared and Shannon look at each other not sure of what to do or if it is even correct to watch that, but they stay still anyway, watching Maya expel the guy.
"Yeah, right. We had a great time but now you need to leave, Stefan," Maya says, pointing to the door.
"It's Steven!" He raises his voice and that makes both brothers alert. Maya simply widens her eyes, shaking her head, signaling she doesn't care. "Are you dumping me?" He narrows his eyes to Maya.
"Yeah, Sten," Maya nods. "I even brought your shit out my bedroom," She points to the pile of clothing on the floor, behind him. "Now if you could kindly get the fuck out my apartment, I would appreciate it," Maya opens a fake smile.
Looking pissed, Steven stands from the chair and starts getting dressed. "You're really a b-" He starts and Maya raises both eyebrows, waiting for it.
"I would be very careful now," Shannon cuts him off.
Steven turns to look at them. "Know what, fuck off," He says, storming out the apartment.
"That's why I don't let 'em stay," Maya says to herself quietly, turning to put the dishes in the sink.
"Awesome payback," Jared says, watching her. "Point made."
Maya simply smiles at her friends and walks away, getting into her room and directly to the shower so she can get rid of any remnant of Steven.
