I Don’t Like The Cold
@shancefluffweek
Day 5: Warm/Cold
A/n: Okay! So, this is a Kuron/Lance fic (which there is not enough of) but I’m pretty sure this still counts?? Anyway...
Lance pulled the thick blankets tighter around himself. The castles heating wasn't working, and they were currently stuck on this ice planet because of all the other parts of the castle. Figures. At least there were plenty of blankets around. He kinda wished he had a pair of thick socks though. Just as he was starting to warm up there was a knock on his door. Groaning, he heaved himself up and headed for the door, grumbling and rubbing his arms the whole way. When he opened the door he was surprised to see Shiro- err Kuron standing there (they weren't really sure what to call him yet. He wasn't Shiro, but 'project Kuron' was kinda a mouth full, among other things). He was looking down at the ground, glancing back up at Lance before looking down again. "I.. um.. hi?" He began, rubbing a hand through his hair nervously. "Hi. Was there... something you needed?" Lance asked. Kuron still didn't meet his eye, "It was... cold. Down in the room they moved me too." "It's cold in all of the rooms. In case you haven't noticed." Lance teased, trying to ease the tension in the other. It was radiating off of him and making him tense. Kuron smiled a little, "I did notice, thanks." He was silent for a moment or two, his mouth turning down into a frown once more. Eventually, he admitted, "I don't like the cold. It reminds me of the planet I was on after escaping from the Galra. or... when they let me go. Whatever happened." "Oh." That was... heart breaking actually. The poor guy had bad memories, just like Shiro, yet he had nobody to go to. Shiro had Keith, sometimes Pidge or Matt. But Kuron... "Why don't you come in? I think I have enough blankets for the both of us." Lance said as he stepped aside. The smile that found its way to Kuron's face this time was small, but sweet. It made Lance's stomach do flops. Hesitantly, Kuron made his way into the room. Lance shut the door and made his way over too the bed. Immediately he sunk back into his nest of blankets, which were still partly warm. When Kuron didn't sit after a minute or two, Lance looked up at him. He was standing there, looking unsure. Lance, perhaps against his better judgment (after all, Kuron was a clone created by Haggar) lifted up the edge of one of the blankets. "You going to sit?" He asked, his voice muffled by the blankets. Still hesitant, Kuron took his offer and sat down on the bed, pulling the blanket around himself. Once he was settled, Lance leaned on him, sharing one of his own blankets by wrapping it partly around Kuron. "Lance-" "Shh. Let it happen." Kuron still looked unsure, but didn't protest. In fact, Lance soon found a large, warm arm wrapped around his waist. "God you're a furnace." Lance said, nuzzling his face into Kuron's shoulder. "Sorry..." "No. It's a good thing." Lance assured him. Suddenly, a loud yawn escaped him. Kuron's head rested against the top of his. He could feel as well as hear the other when he told him, "Try and get some sleep. It's been a long day." "Mmmhmm..." Lance agreed, his eyes drooping shut.

Shance Fluff Week Day 1: Black/Blue  Black and Blue
“Just be careful, okay? I -- we can’t lose you, sharp shooter”
“Okay.”
also, side note: don’t wrap your chest when you have a bruised rib. Restricting your chest’s ability to fully expand can lead to lung infection. I just made the executive decision to sacrifice accuracy for aesthetic.

Us. Talking.
A late entry for @shancefluffweek Cuddles!
3052 words. Also on ao3!
The pod slid open and Shiro stumbled out. Allura and Keith rushed to his side, each taking an arm and helping him steady himself.
“Take it easy, Shiro,” Keith said gently as he helped Shiro into a chair. “You’re safe. We’ve got you.” But the minute he was settled in the chair, Shiro found himself with a lapful of Pidge, grunting as she vaulted into his lap and threw her arms around his shoulders. She hugged him tightly, desperately; and as Shiro snaked a sore arm around her back, he noticed the dampness of tears against his neck.
“Katie…” he sighed, her frantic warmth chasing away the chill of kryo.
“Pidge, easy,” Keith scolded; but he did nothing to try and disentangle the pair.
“Shiro I’m so sorry — I should have listened to you — and you were — god, Takashi, I’m so sorry!” As Pidge cried into his shoulder, snippets of the mission came back to him: the facility they had broken into, Pidge’s determined refusal to leave, and him throwing himself between her and a guard, catching a blast that tore through his side. He opened his mouth to say something when Lance approached from the other side. He knelt down beside the chair.
“Pidge,” he said gently, placing a hand on her back. She didn’t move and Lance sent Shiro an apologetic smile. “She was really upset while you were out . Really worried. We all were.” Lance glanced down shyly as Shiro sent all of them a tired smile. He looked around the room at the people whom he had come to care for and who cared for him, and he couldn’t help but smile. He pressed a kiss to Pidge’s hair before moving to stand up, sliding her gently onto her feet.
“Shiro, you should really relax,” Keith said as he and Lance both moved to help him.
“Keith, I feel fine,” Shiro said, only partly lying. However, when he took a step forwards, there was a twinge in his side that sent him wincing, urging both Lance and Keith to latch onto his arms.
“Shiro, let me — ”
“I’ve got him, Lance.” Keith practically growled. The other boy paused before biting his lip and stepping back without a word.
Shiro let Allura and Coran check him over and even let Hunk and Pidge make him eat before he was finally led to his room, again by Keith. Throughout the afternoon, Lance had been quiet, almost nervous. Whenever Shiro saw the other boy, he was either looking back at him or very pointedly looking away. Occasionally, Shiro would catch a fond smile or a wistful glance, yet the blue paladin never said anything. He just followed along, steering clear of Keith and Pidge who seemed intent on making sure he ‘took it easy,’ while still updating him on everything he’d missed for the five days he’d been in the pod. But, the second he tried to stifle a yawn, he was bustled off to bed.
In his room, Shiro let Keith hover — rearranging the two pillows, turning down the sheets, making sure there were water pouches on hand — before insisting that the other boy leave and get some rest.
“I feel fine, just tired,” he insisted. “Right now, I just want to shower and go to sleep.”
“Do you need help though?” Keith asked.
“I’m steady enough to shower on my own, Keith,” Shiro said as he stood up. He stopped Keith with a hand when the other boy moved towards him. Keith’s expression soured, but he nodded, backing off. Shiro gave him a gentle smile and reached out. Keith stepped forward wordlessly and Shiro laid a hand on his shoulder. “You need your rest too. I know how anxious you can get. It’ll help me feel better if I know you’re also resting.”
Keith nodded, and Shiro gave his shoulder a squeeze before turning and heading towards the bathroom in his room. He turned on the shower and stripped out of the healing suit with a sigh. He heard the door open and close, meaning Keith had, hopefully left.
Shiro stepped under the warm spray of the shower and sighed, grateful to wash away the feeling of being in kryo and the healing suit for so many days straight.
*
Keith stepped out of Shiro’s room and ran almost directly into Lance who had been waiting outside.
“Oh, sorry. I thought I’d wait until you two were done and then I’d go see Shir — ”
“He’s in the shower and then he’s getting straight in bed. He’s resting, Lance.” Keith said, standing between Lance and the now closing door.
“Oh… I just wanted to — ”
“Lance, what’s up with you and Shiro lately?” Keith said, voice tight with fatigue but also something Lance couldn’t name.
“I don’t — I mean — I don’t know if I understand the question — ”
“Y’all have been spending a lot of time together and you were annoyingly upset when Shiro was hurt — ”
“What, so I’m not allowed to worry about my friend?”
“Well not like that — ”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Nothing just — ”
“No, it obviously means something if you’re bringing it up. What’s wrong with me worrying about Shiro. We were all worrying about him, why is it only a problem when I do it?”
“It’s not — ” Keith groaned, exasperated, “It’s not a problem — ”
“You’re definitely treating it like one.”
“God, Lance, this isn’t about you.”
“I never said it was! You’re the one being hostile without explaining what you’re even mad about!”
“I’m mad about you!” Keith yelled, arms flying out to the side.
“So it is ‘about me,’” Lance said coldly. Suddenly, the door opened behind them and there was Shiro, nothing but a towel wrapped around his waist and his hair still dripping from the shower.
His expression was dark, so neither Keith nor Lance spoke.
“Keith, could I talk to you?” he said firmly, stepping aside so Keith could enter. Keith nodded, ducking his head and walking silently into the room. Lance looked around nervously before taking a step back, only to be stopped by “Wait right there, Lance. I want to talk to you after.”
“Oh,” Lance said, voice cracking. “Okay.”
Shiro sent him a nod before closing the door. Inside the bedroom, Keith sat quietly on the bed, looking very much like a child called into the principal’s office. Shiro ignored him for a moment, crossing into the bathroom to pull on some pajama pants, before returning to the bedroom. Shiro sighed, briefly resting his forehead in his hand before looking at Keith.
“Keith… What’s going on?” he sighed, voice heavy.
“Nothing, I just — ” Keith huffed, carding a hand through his hair. “I just get worried that, you know…” He gave Shiro a pointed glance, that was returned with confusion. Keith groaned. “You really wanna make me say it?”
“You need to, because I have no idea what you’re so mad at Lance for.”
“He’s losing focus!” Keith waved an angry hand towards the door.
“Quiet down.” Shiro said, and Keith looked abashed.
“He’s just… He’s so busy making doe-eyes that he’s losing sight of what’s important.”
“Is this about Lance flirting on missions?”
“This is about Lance… flirting here.” Keith said quietly. He looked up at Shiro.
“With you?” Shiro asked, eyebrows pulling together. Keith rolled his eyes and gave Shiro a look. Shiro’s eyes widened and he felt his cheeks warm up. “Oh.”
“Yeah, and it bothers me because I don’t — he shouldn’t just be throwing himself at you and — ”
“Quiet down, he’s right outside. And he isn’t throwing himself at me. I… I didn’t notice him…”
“Didn’t notice him looking at you like a puppy?” Keith said incredulously.
“Didn’t notice him returning my feelings.” Shiro said, looking up to meet Keith’s eyes. The other boy sucked in a breath and blinked.
“Oh,” he said, blinking again.
“Oh.” Shiro said with a nod. They were both quiet for a minute before Keith said,
“Well I feel like an asshole.”
“I should’ve told you,” Shiro said.
“I mean, you’re allowed to feel how you want about who you want.”
“Yes, but you obviously have an opinion on this”
“I just didn’t want him to put you in a situation you didn’t want.” Keith said, looking away quietly. “And I guess… I guess I was a little bit jealous.” Shiro sucked in a breath. “Not like that!” Keith said quickly, reassuring him. “I just — I’m so used to having you there for me. You’re like my only family, and I guess it felt like Lance was trying to take that.”
“Keith, you know that I’ll always be there for you. No matter what happens, or what me and Lance end up becoming, whether that something committed or nothing all. You’ll always be my family, and I’ll always be yours.” Shiro said with a small smile. Keith nodded, getting up from the bed.
“Sorry for freaking out. If you… If you and Lance wanna do… whatever, I’ll support you.” He looked up at Shiro. “Both of you.”
Shiro gave Keith a grin, happy to have his friend’s blessing.
“Can I ask what brought this on?” Shiro said. Surprisingly, Keith grinned.
“Lance was super upset when you were in the pod. He tried not to let anyone know, but it was really obvious. I guess I didn’t get it, but I do now.” He smirked at Shiro, who tried to hide a smile but couldn’t. Keith shook his head. “I figure we’re done here, but I’m gonna give you an opportunity to put on a shirt before you call Lance in here. He’ll combust otherwise.”
Shiro’s eyes widened. “Really?”
Keith laughed again. “Wow, you really are oblivious. Fine, stay all hot and shirtless. Congrats on whatever — or wherever — it gets you.” Keith turned towards the door, and paused, turning around to throw Shiro a questioning thumbs up. Shiro took a breath to compose himself, then returned the gesture.
Keith stepped into the hall and found Lance, sitting against the opposite wall and picking at his cuticles. Keith cleared his throat and Lance scrambled to his feet, hiding his hands in his jacket pockets.
Keith sighed. “I’m sorry about earlier. I was… I was out of line.”
Lance looked stunned and Keith could only chuckle. He waved the other boy towards the door and started down the hall.
“Good luck in there,” he called, leaving Lance to look confusedly after him.
Lance moved slowly into Shiro’s room, still looking back at the red paladin.
“Lance,” Shiro said.
Lance snapped to attention. “Yeah. Sorry Shi — ” he stopped, mouth hanging open and eyes going wide as he took in Shiro, standing there in nothing but a low-hanging pair of pajama pants. His still wet hair was dripping onto his neck and shoulders and Lance found himself unable to look away from their slow descent down Shiro’s chest. He wondered how many of them he would have to catch to wet his suddenly parched throat.
Shiro barely managed to withhold a smile as he watched Lance ogle him. He cleared his throat and Lance’s eyes snapped up to his face.
“I would like to talk to you, Lance,” he said smoothly, stepping forwards. Lance nodded dumbly, adam’s apple bobbing as he watched Shiro’s measured approach. Shiro stopped with less than a foot of space between himself and Lance.
Lance was hard-pressed to keep his eyes up at Shiro’s face with the vast expanse of the other man’s chest on display just inches away. So close that if he even raised his hand —
“Is that okay?” Shiro asked, a smile all but audible in his voice.
“Is what — ” Lance stopped, cleared his dry throat, “Is what okay?” he asked.
“Us talking.” Shiro said with a smile. Lance nodded quickly. Taking a step back and drawing up his usual playfulness.
“Of course. Why wouldn’t it be?” he said quickly, hand flailing as he went. “Talk away, big guy — ”
Shiro grabbed one of Lance’s flailing hands in his own and tugged gently, drawing the other boy to him.
“Lance,” he said gently, voice low in his throat in a way that made Lance want to shiver.
“Sh-Shiro?” Lance said, eyes filling with worry. “Look, I’m really sorry about arguing with Keith earlier. Especially right outside your room when I know you’re trying to recover and — ”
“Lance.”
“And of course now you’re still on your feet trying to talk to me instead of resting. God, I’m the worst. You should really rest. Come on — ” He used the hand Shiro was holding to tug the older paladin towards the bed.
“Lance, I’m not — ”
“Yes you are,” Lance said, gently pushing Shiro until he was sitting on the bed and began to push him into lying down as he continued to fuss.“You’re always saying that we need to rest after being hurt, well now you’re the one who was just hurt. And you’re always taking care of us, so just relax and let me — aaahh!”
Shiro grunted slightly as Lance’s weight landed across his lap, but it was completely worth the shocked and confused expression on Lance’s face. Though it quickly melted into mortification and Lance scrambling to apologize for ‘falling’ as he maneuvered himself upright.
Shiro just chuckled. “Lance, you didn’t fall. I pulled you here. Now will you stop worrying? I’m fine, and you’re not in trouble.” He looked up at the other boy and the still surprised look on his face. “Okay?” Shiro asked gently. Lance just nodded slowly. His eyes flitted down to where he was sitting, rear on Shiro’s muscular thighs, but he made no move to get up or run away. He just set his hands in his lap and began to pick at his cuticles.
Shiro watched him fidget. He’s seen Lance’s many different moods, and knew that he wasn’t truly as boisterous as the others thought (at least not as frequently). He had seen him sad and homesick, which are both more reserved, and he’s noticed that the other boy can be withdrawn in groups: listening attentively, paying close attention to others, and generally holding back depending on his mood; though at other times he’s filled to the brim with jokes and laughter.
But this was something else entirely, and it took Shiro some time to place it — to realize what he was seeing: Lance was bashful. All fidgeting and downcast eyes, skirting away from eye contact, and gnawing at the corner of his lip. Shiro could help but chuckle.
“I never would have pegged you for shy,” he said gently, drawing one of Lance’s hands away from picking at his cuticles and into his own hand. Lance froze.
“I’m not shy, just… a bit confused right now.” he said, without looking up. Shiro smiled again.
He gently moved his other hand and tapped Lance beneath his chin, spurring him to look at his face. “Well, maybe as we talk we can fix that.”
And so they talked. Shiro told Lance about how drawn to him he’d become and Lance had blushed and stuttered out the same.  They talked some more about what a relationship could mean both for them and for Voltron— Shiro apologized in advance for any times he became overprotective or even stifling. “I trust you, I do. I just worry.” — and as the conversation continued, Lance relaxed onto the bed, moving to sit between Shiro’s legs with his knees over one thigh and back against another. Lance told Shiro that the increased time they’d been spending together had been great, but that he was sorry if it had been coming between Shiro and Keith.Shiro reassured him then proceeded to shower Lance in compliments about how aware of others he was and how giving. Shiro found himself blushing as he talked, yet unable to stop listing the things he’d come to adore about the blue paladin. Shiro discovered that while Lance was very good at flirting with others, he could barely handle being flirted with and turned into a flustered mess, incapable of anything other than laughter.
“I’m sorry—” he managed between giggles. “I’m not laughing at you, I just— I don’t know it’s just so— i don’t even have a word for it,” he laughed. Shiro rolled his eyes, but wound his mechanical arm around Lance’s waist and drew him into a tight hug. Lance curled so his face was settled into the crook of Shiro’s neck. Shiro could still feel the smile on his face.
Shiro sighed contentedly and tightened his grip on Lance. He tried to stifle a yawn, but with Lance pressed so closely against him, it was nearly impossible. Lance tried to sit up, but Shiro held him in place with his mechanical arm. The other boy chuckled, but continued to squirm until Shiro loosened his grip. He sat up, letting Shiro’s hand drag across his back to his waist, and looked down at Shiro where he lie against the pillows.
“I should go,” Lance sighed. “You’re still recovering and need your rest. I’ve already kept you up—”
“Stay.” Shiro said quietly, gently squeezing Lance’s hip with his human hand. He felt Lance stiffen, eyes flicking nervously to the side.
“Shiro, I don’t—”
“Not like that,” Shiro said quickly, moving his hand from Lance’s hips to the relative safety of his back. “I just… I just like laying with you.”
Lance took a breath then nodded, letting Shiro pull him back down against his chest. Shiro rubbed his thumb against Lance’s shoulder blade soothingly, sighing contentedly as Lance’s warmth seeped into him. Lance fidgeted for a moment, curling up on Shiro and pulling the blankets over them.
“Only for a little while,” Lance said, nuzzling his face into Shiro’s chest.
“Whatever you want,” Shiro rumbled, voice already colored with fatigue.
A few hours later, Keith knocked on the door, having volunteered to bring Shiro dinner. When there was no response, he entered. He had expected to find Shiro sleeping. He hadn’t expected to find Lance there too, tucked against him like it was the most natural place for him to be. Keith couldn’t help but smile at the two: oblivious, snoring peacefully. He turned around and left. He could just take Shiro’s dinner back to the kitchen. And tell the others that Lance would be missing dinner.

Shance Fluff Week - Day 1 Black/Blue
“Black or blue, babe?” Lance called from the kitchen.
“What?”
“Black or blue?”
“Depends. What are you doing?”
“Nothing.” There was a bang, and then a loud thump, like Lance had knocked something over. “Nothing you should be worried about!”
“Lance?” Shiro put down his book.
His fiance queaked. “Black or blue?”
“I’m going to come in. Are you alright?” Shiro asked. He stood, and tried to make his way to their small apartment kitchen, only to be stopped when an angry blue blur ran out of it and rammed into his chest.
“Nope!” Lance pushed on him. “Hey, no, nooope, you are not allowed in that kitchen until I say so.”
“What? Lance, what are you doing?” Shiro placed his hands on the younger’s shoulders, an almost smile tugging at his lips.
Lance gave up on pushing, changing tactics and dragging Shiro over to their couch. “Stay here.”
Shiro quirked a brow and smiled, laughing to himself as Lance ran back to the kitchen.
“Black or blue?” Lance yelled from the kitchen.
“Black!” Shiro called. Lance made a noise, sounding way too much like he was making fun of him. “Are you okay in there?” Shiro asked.
Lance audibly rolled his eyes. “Yes, just give me a moment.”
Shiro chuckled. “Don’t burn yourself.”
“Ha! As if you’re better.”
“Shut up!”
Lance laughed. “No way.”
Shiro huffed and pretended to pout, knowing full well that if Lance came back, he would be made fun of, but didn’t care.
A couple minutes later, Lance exited the kitchen, with a big smile, and a large tray in his hands.
Shiro groaned when Lance sat down next to him. “You didn’t.”
Lance smiled. “Hunk helped me make them.” He picked up a cupcake from the tray he had brought in, careful to not get blue icing on his fingers. He gave the cupcake to Shiro. “But I made the icing. That was me, all my work. Blue, hell yeah, baby.”
Shiro chuckled, and accepted the sweet. “So why were you asking me about black or blue?”
Lance giggled and rolled his eyes. “You chose the sprinkles, obviously.”
Shiro grinned and looked at his boyfriend’s handiwork. Sure enough, black bat (he remembered those, Lance had used them to tease Keith) sprinkles were sprinkled on top of them.
Shiro smiled, and peeled the cupcake lining back so he could take a bite.
“Babe! No!” Lance gasped. "You can’t eat cupcakes like that!”
Shiro’s stopped. “What?”
Lance sighed, playfully, but it made Shiro roll his eyes. “You can’t bite into. cupcakes.” He wrinkled his nose mockingly. “You have to lick it.”
Shiro chuckled. “Then show me, great and wise cupcake master. I’m sorry for offending you.”
Lance stuck his tongue out at him. “Watch me.”
Lance grabbed (arguably) the biggest cupcake out of the tray and looked Shiro dead in the eye, giving a the cupcake a long like across the top.
Unfortunately, it didn’t have the desired affect.
Shiro had to slap a hand over his mouth he was laughing so hard.
“What?” Lance asked, his nose screwing up cutely against the huge glop of icing he had managed to get on his nose.
Shiro removes his hand to tell him, then slapped it back on. This was too good.
Lance hit him on the shoulder. “What is it?!”
Shiro was able to gain enough compose to squeak out, “you have icing,” before he started to laugh again.
Lance tentatively touched his nose. “Oh, shit!” He jumped off the couch and ran toward the bathroom, which only made Shiro laugh harder.
“Babe?” He called.
No answer.
Shiro sucked in a couple breaths to regain composure, before chasing after Lance.
When he got there, Lance had gotten most of the icing off, but a bright blue stain remained. Lance whined as he tried to rub it off. “No! No! No!”
Shiro put his hand over his mouth again to stifle his laughter.
Lance hit him on the shoulder. “This is your fault!”
“What? Why Me?”
“If you hadn’t tried to take a bite out of the cupcake, and just licked it like a normal person, then we wouldn’t be in this mess!” Lance said.
Shiro chuckled and leaned down to be face to face with his fiance. “You’re petty.”
Lance pouted. “Shut up.”
Shiro laughed and kissed Lance’s forehead. “Good luck. I’m going to go eat the rest of those cupcakes.
Lance rolled his eyes. "I’m sure everyone at the fire station would be proud of you, Shiro.”
“Oh, yeah. You know how Matt won the hotdog eating contest last year?”
Lance stepped back out into their living room, and smiled when he saw Shiro on the couch, licking the icing off a cupcake. “Yeah? So?”
Shiro winked. “I’m training so I can beat him this year.”
Lance laughed. He sat down next to Shiro, quickly putting the tray up on the table behind the couch before he made a mess.
Lance giggled and leaned over to pat Shiro’s belly. “Don’t go too crazy.”
Shiro rolled his eyes. “Keith got second place.”
Lance smirked. “Never mind. Eat.”

Stolen in Silence
@shancefluffweek
Day 2: Silence/Laughter
A/n: Yes, I know I didn’t write anything for the first day. Real life, am I right? Anyway, hope this is fluffy enough. It kind of turned out a little bit angsty, and a bit short, but meh.
The temple was deathly silent at this time. No chanting was taking place, no words of offering. There wasn't even any worshipers there, sitting in quiet contemplation or preying for enlightenment.
He made his way down towards the altar. The sound of his boots scuffing on the stone floor echoed loudly. All was silent again once he reached the altar.
It was comprised of a long table at the base of a statue of the water goddess, a woman with long waves of hair and a serpentine tail. On the table were candles and the usual offerings the priests had left. He reached into his bag and pulled out two gold pieces, placing them on the table before getting down on one knee.
I beg your forgiveness he preyed in the silent temple, staring up at the statue.
Forgive me for wanting what is yours, my lady, but I cannot help it. I cannot bring myself to relinquish him. I can only hope-
His silent prayer was brought to a halt by the sound of a door creaking open. He turned to see the large, wooded door that lead to one of the doors the priests used open, and a man dressed in white and blue robes exiting. The man spotted him and smiled.
"I thought you wouldn't come by today, Shiro." He said, making his way over.
Shiro rose to his feet, unable to keep from smiling back, "I try to come by as much as I am able."
"I know." The man said. He reached out, his hand finding it's way to Shiro's face.
"Someone might see." Shiro warned, but couldn't fight the urge to lean into the other's soft hand, his own gloved one moving to rest atop of the one caressing his cheek.
"Everyone is busy with the preparations for the upcoming holidays. Nobody will come in here. Even if they did... The lady is a patron of healing and intimacy. A kind touch is something she is willing for us to give."
Shiro didn't reply. Instead he simply leaned in, his breath hovering over the other's lips, "What about a kiss..?"
"That is something I am willing to give..."
With that they both leaned in, their lips meeting in a gentle kiss. Again and again their lips met, making silent promises of affection and devotion.
What would people think? Falling for a sworn priest? One who had taken vows to never be intimate with another person, staying faithful only to their patron goddess? God, what would they do to him if they found out his broke his vows? Would they believe him when he said they'd only stolen kisses? That they'd never once done anything more intimate?
"Lance..." He sighed, pulling away.
Lance nuzzled their noses together, "Shh... It's alright, okay? We'll be okay."
"How can you know?"
The other took a hold of his hand, placing it above his heart. Even between all the layers of clothing, Shiro could feel the accelerated beating of Lance's heart.
"The lady will not punish us for our love. I feel it in my heart. She, at the very least, has granted her blessing."
Shiro wasn't sure, but if Lance thought so, then he was willing to believe him. He pulled Lance into his arms, kissing his forehead. In the silence of the temple, they held each other.
It didn't matter though. The Lady could be mad all she wanted. She could flood the earth in anger and he'd still choose to be with Lance. The same when for everyone else.
"Will you keep your promise to take me away from here?" Lance asked him.
"When I have enough money saved up. We'll leave here, go somewhere far away where nobody knows us." He promised, "I'll build you a house. A beautiful one. You can have a garden and grow whatever you like."
Lance pulled away enough to smile up at him, "I can't wait for that day to come."
Unable to help himself, Shiro pressed another kiss to the other's lips, smiling into it as he said, "Neither can I."

(Don't worry. Shiro builds Lance his house and they live happily together. Lance likes to grow vegetables so he can cook for Shiro)

Team Voltron had just finished another training session, Coran praising them from the booth for their performance before sending them all off to the showers.
Keith and Shiro went to stand over Hunk, Lance, and Pidge, who had all collapsed in a celebratory dog-pile on Hunk after he took out the last gladiator with a shot from his bayard.
“Alright everyone, up and hit the showers,” Shiro said, trying to keep a chuckle out of his voice. Keith rolled his eyes at the others but leaned in to help them disentangle themselves.
Pidge rolled off of the two boys and onto the floor, and Keith helped her up. Shiro went over and offered Lance a hand as he slid off of Hunk’s stomach and rolled onto the floor.
“Thanks, Shiro,” he said as he took the older paladin’s hand. But, as Shiro pulled Lance to his feet, he noticed that Lance’s movements seemed ginger.
“You alright, Lance?” Shiro asked, placing a hand on the other boy’s shoulder.
“Of course he is,” Hunk said coming and wrapping an arm around Lance’s shoulders before pulling him in to ruffle his hair. Shiro raised an eyebrow as Lance’s expression tightened before he relaxed into the half hug. “He’s just tired after such a great fight. Seriously buddy, I’ve never seen you move like that. It was amazing!”
Shiro watched Lance smile, even as he moved stiffly against Hunk’s side.
“Thanks buddy! You were great too, I mean that shot at the end—“
“No, but seriously Lance,” Hunk said, voice earnest. “You were great out there.”
“Hunk is right, Lance,” Allura said with a smile. “You’ve certainly improved these past few weeks.”
Lance was grinning, eyes wide and genuinely happy. Shiro couldn’t help but smile at the hopeful expression on his face.
“Ok, let’s all wash up and then we can take a well-deserved break,” Shiro said, ushering them towards the showers.
In the changing room, Shiro, Hunk, and Lance made their way to their usual shower stalls, pulling off their flight suits and leaving them on the benches around the room. Pidge and Keith were already tucked away in their respective stalls.
Shiro glanced around the room before reaching for the zippers on his suit. He was getting better at not worrying about the scars— and he knew the others didn’t mind them— but old habits died hard. While looking around, he caught Lance wincing as he disentangled himself from the sleeves on his suit. Shiro’s eyes narrowed. Had the other boy been hurt during their session and just not said anything? But, before Shiro could  get a word in, Lance was shucking the rest of his clothes— causing Shiro to look quickly away— and stepping into his shower.
Shiro sighed. He’d talk to Lance afterwards.
*
Lance always took the longest in the showers. Shiro had never noticed before, but after all the other showers cut off and the others had, as far as Lance knew, left, he sang in the shower. The others had heard him humming in there before, but this was full bodied and loud (a bit off key, but all the more endearing for it). He switched from American pop songs to ones in Spanish, humming where he couldn’t remember the words. Finally, the water cut off and Lance emerged from the shower, still humming, with a towel wrapped tightly around his waist. When he saw Shiro sitting there, he stopped abruptly.
“Sh-Shiro?” the other boy stuttered. But the other paladin didn’t hear him, instead his eyes remained glued to Lance’s bare chest, specifically his side. High on Lance’s ribs, was a large bruise, mottled blue and purple streaking over his side and in towards his chest.
Lance’s eyes flicked down and he gasped, bolting across the room to grab his shirt, but it was too late.
“Lance, what happened?” Shiro asked, voice firm.
“It’s nothing, I’m fine,” Lance said as he struggled to pull his shirt over his wet hair.
“Lance.”
“I- I fell. Just, rolled out of bed during one of Allura’s drills.” he said with a nervous laugh.
“This doesn’t look like it came from a fall,” Shiro said, standing and crossing to the other boy.
“I landed really weird.”Lance said, pulling his head through the neck hole and meeting Shiro’s eyes. He jerked his shirt down over his chest.
“Lance,” Shiro murmured, eyes concerned. “Just tell me what happened. You’re a part of this team and I want to look out for you, but I can’t do that if you don’t tell me what’s going on.”
“Shiro, it’s fine,” Lance snapped, turning to his pile of clothes, but he was stopped by a gentle hand on his arm.
“Did it happen during a training session? We’re supposed to report all injuries—“
“It wasn’t during a training session.”
“Then were you and Keith fighting—“
“God,  it wasn’t Keith. It was— “ Lance stopped, looking down at the floor. “It was my fault, okay? I’ve been… I’ve been trying… I’ve been training on my own. At night. I’ve been trying to— well I don’t know what I was trying to do, but it’s working.” Lance looked up at Shiro with shining eyes, whether from hope or tears he couldn’t tell. “I’m finally doing something right. They were all proud of me today. I’m getting better, I can finally— “ suddenly he stopped, closing off and looking down.
“Finally what, Lance?” Shiro asked gently.
“I can finally be useful to the team,” he whispered. Shiro looked down at Lance, stunned.
“Lance, what does that even mean? Of course you’re useful to the team. You’re—“
“Yeah, I know, I’m the Blue Paladin, but really, it’s just because I was in the right place at the right time. Blue could have any pilot she wanted—“
“But she chose you.”
“Yeah, cause she had so many options,” Lance said with a snort.
“No, because she knew you had the skill and spirit necessary to be a part of this team.” Shiro sighed, swiping a hand through his own still-damp hair before looking at Lance. “Look, I can’t be mad at you for wanting to improve, and I don’t want to disregard your feelings.” He put a hand on Lance’s shoulder and leaned down, looking him in the eye. “All I can ask is that you take care of yourself, or let us help you. For your sake and ours.” Shiro’s eyes grew unbearably earnest and Lance had to look away. “You’re important to us, Lance. At the very least, know that.”
Lance let himself be drawn into a hug, leaning momentarily against Shiro’s broad chest, before the older paladin released him, stepping away and leaving just a hand on Lance’s shoulder.
"Okay?” Shiro asked, one eyebrow raised and his lips drawn into a gentle smile.
“Yeah,” Lance said quietly, wringing the hem of his shirt in his hands. He looked up and found Shiro still gazing at him. “Um, Shiro?”
“Yes, Lance?” Shiro said, voice light and open.
“Can I put the rest of my clothes on?”
Lance watched a myriad of emotions flick across Shiro’s face, leaving a light blush in their wake. The hand dropped off of Lance’s shoulder and Shiro cleared his throat once, twice, as he nodded.
“Ah, yes. Sorry, I’ll let you— go ahead and—“ he cleared his throat again ”— I’ll see you in the common room.”
“Aye, aye, captain,” Lance said, bringing one hand up from holding his towel and giving Shiro a mock salute.
The other paladin hurried quickly out of the changing room, leaving a confused but smiling Blue Paladin behind him.

Shance Fluff Week - Day 3
“You doing okay?” Lance asked. He placed the new cloth on Shiro’s forehead, before reaching up to feel his forehead.
Shiro coughed, but tried to smile. “Yeah.”
Lance smiled back, gently, and stood. “You’re okay with me getting into bed with you?”
Shiro nodded, and pull his sheets back. “Go ahead.”
Lance readily accepted the invitation, climbing over Shiro and onto the mattress, kicking his shoes off as he went. Shiro looped an arm around him when Lance snuggled next to him, under the covers. Lance sighed. “Are you really sure you’re okay?”
Shiro laughed, and brushed Lance’s bangs back from his face. “I’m great.” It reassured Lance for a moment, but then Shiro had to turn away to cough and Lance’s face fell again.
“Babe-,”
“Lance,” Shiro turned back to him when had finished. “I’m fine. I’m not going to die.”
Lance laughed, weakly. He poked Shiro’s chest. “Don’t you dare.”
Shiro smiled. “I wouldn’t dream of it.”
They stayed in silence for a minute, until Lance reached over to grab Shiro’s hand, dread the only thing on his face. “Please don’t die.”
Shiro kissed the top of his head. “I’m not.”
Lance laughed awkwardly. “Remember when Coran tried to put you in a healing pod?”
Shiro chuckled. “That was only a couple minutes ago, Lance.”
“I know, I know.”
There was another beat of silence.
“Do you think my family knows I’m in space?”
Shiro looked down at him. “What?”
“Do you think the garrison tried to hide all of this stuff? Do you think my family thinks I’m dead?”
“Lance-,” Shiro tried to say, but Lance sat up.
“They do, don’t they? They think I’m dead.”
Shiro coughed. “Lance, wait.” He grabbed for the younger’s hand, gently pulling him down to his chest. “I know. Okay? I know. I’ve been thinking about that for two years.”
Lance looked up at him.
“But we gotta stay strong, okay? Just a little more, alright, and then we can go home.”
“And kick Iverson’s ass.” Lance mumbled.
“And kick Iverson’s ass.” Shiro agreed, placing a kiss on Lance’s temple. “And, Lance, if it helps,” Shiro ran a hand through his hair. “You’ve gotta family here too.”
“Keith isn’t part of my family.”
Shiro laughed. “But is Hunk?”
“Yeah.”
“Pidge?”
“Eh.” Lance shrugged. “She steals my blankets.”
Shiro chuckled. “Okay.” His hand moved to Lance’s back. “Am I?”
Lance grinned, and looked up at him. “Of course you are.”
Shiro smiled, and kissed Lance’s nose. “Good. Then let me be your family.”
