I am continually fascinated by Alvis and Shulk's dynamic. How they both so casually are willing to weaponize each other for the good of the world, while still caring about each other.

'Yeah, I really was using you to kill the god of this world to free it, but I based the manifestation of my entire consciousness off the memories I made with you'.

'Yeah, I will build you into the core of a giant machine ark to manage all of the souls of two worlds, but I believed you would endure it enough to not give up on you even when you become corrupted'.

They both know the deal, and they play the hand they were given. Yet they still don't let that get in the way of connection and compassion.

Trusting someone so much that you're willing to go through really fucked up things, just because you do. Shulk began trusting Alvis almost the second he met him, and Alvis believed that Shulk would make the right choices to overthrow Zanza.

Kinda like...believing in your own God. Not knowing what he has in store for you, but doing it anyway.
