Pale Lights, Book 2 chapter 15 - Scholomance Students
Added the last three minor students. Layout may be a bit messy, as some single students have been moved around to optimize space.
Made some small tone adjustments to Angharad and Tristan.
Anaya: Name seems to suggest Northen India for inspiration. I did my best to not turn her into a Shalini copy.
Kasigo: Textbook answer seem to imply he’s going for one of the more bookish covenants. Other than that, all I really got is that he might bite his lip when pressed.
Patli: Yeeeah… I got nothing but “Izcalli” and “boy”. So he got a very basic look.

☂️
Topic: Knowledge Gap Analysis.
▪️Praveen Sahu Sir: Once I’ve identified a learning gap, i can use a gap analysis template to put measures in place that will help the child catch up to where they need to be.
▪️SURESH UPADHYAY: In my view, the knowledge gap is due to a lack of basic concept understanding. This can be improved by giving students basic concepts based on remedial class.
▪️Manoj Rai: Knowledge gap analysis is about assessing the gap between a child's learning attainments and where they should be at any given stage in their education. As a teacher the best way we can do to remove this gap is that creating a space where students feel comfortable sharing their concerns
▪️SUSHMA PRATAP: Knowledge gap analysis is to identify the gaps in current performance with expected performance. Action plan can be implemented to fill knowledge gap.
▪️Kanchan Sohal: I think that knowledge gap analysis must not be considered as a one-time event but an ongoing process. This will help individuals and organisations stay relevant and competitive in their fields.
▪️Shalini Nair: If a student does not know or lacks exposure to correct information that is what knowledge gap is.
We should take some time to assess our children and identify knowledge gaps. By identifying knowledge gaps, we can help them to overcome deficiencies and become better learner. By analysing a student's learning, those gaps can be found early on, and measures can be taken to address them before they become significant.
The best way to fill this gap is to create a comfort zone, where a child will feel free to come up with his doubts and learning disabilities.
▪️Nandhini: Conducting a knowledge gap analysis can be highly beneficial for students in several ways:
1. Identifying Individual Learning Needs: By analyzing knowledge gaps, teachers can gain insights into the specific areas where students may be struggling or lacking understanding. This allows for personalized interventions and targeted support to address those gaps.
2. Tailoring Instruction: Knowledge gap analysis helps teachers adapt their teaching methods and resources to better meet the learning needs of their students. It enables them to customize lesson plans and activities, ensuring that students receive the appropriate level of support and challenge.
3. Fostering Student Engagement: When students feel that their individual learning needs are acknowledged and addressed, they are more likely to be engaged and motivated in their studies. By targeting their specific gaps, teachers can make the learning experience more relevant, meaningful, and enjoyable for students.
4. Encouraging Self-Reflection and Ownership: Knowledge gap analysis can empower students to reflect on their own learning and identify areas where they need to improve. It promotes a sense of ownership over their education and encourages them to take an active role in seeking additional resources or support to bridge their knowledge gaps.
5. Enhancing Learning Outcomes: By effectively identifying and addressing knowledge gaps, students can experience improved learning outcomes. They can achieve a deeper understanding of the subject matter, develop critical thinking skills, and gain confidence in their abilities.
6. Promoting Lifelong Learning: Knowledge gap analysis teaches students the importance of continuous learning and self-improvement. It instills in them a mindset of seeking knowledge and skills beyond the classroom, nurturing a lifelong love of learning.
Overall, conducting a knowledge gap analysis provides valuable insights for both teachers and students, leading to targeted interventions, improved learning experiences, and enhanced academic achievements.
▪️Azeez: The space between the best practice (the answer to the question "What should be happening?") and the current practice (the answer to the question "What is currently happening?") reveals the gap (the answer to the question "What is the difference between what is and should be happening?")
Another way to approach a gap analysis is by answering the following questions:
1. What areas in practice do you and your colleagues find challenging?
Examples:
▪️Difficult-to-manage or non-resolvable cases
▪️Improving leadership ability
▪️Prevalent education care problems
▪️ School safety concerns
▪️Limitations occurring in the school system
What factors are contributing to an identified problem in practice?
Examples:
▪️Insufficient funding
▪️Lack of training
▪️ School campus culture
What does the learner need to do differently in order to improve practice or professional skills?
Examples:
▪️Refine technical/procedural skills
▪️Learn and practice optimal communication strategies and techniques
▪️Collaborate interprofessionally for best outcomes

Hey, can I ask?
Most disliked character(s)? Why?
Is there an unpopular character you like that the fandom doesn’t? Why?
What is the purest ship in the fandom?
If this applies to the Hobbit - Blue
If it's Hobbit + LOTR - Red
- Most disliked character:
Alfryd - because he's annoying and has too much screen time that I personally would have preferred to be spent on dwarves 🤷🏻‍♀️
Denethor - because tomato
- Unpopular character:
Does Ori count anymore? LOL Otherwise, Óin, I celebrate the old bean! - because they're kind and cute and precious
There are no unpopular characters in LOTR, I think, except Tomatodude and Grima...and I don't like them either...
- Purest ship in the fandom:
I'll have to say Arwen/Aragorn because it's canon lol and that makes it pure.
Other than that, I haven't come across a ship I couldn't get behind, because hardcore Durincest never happened on my dash anywhere lol I've come across some interesting ones though and I support all of them, because I want real love written by real people for fictional characters and I'm too fluid in my own preferences to really take offence to anything LOL Only real trigger I have is pregnancy and babies LOL

DAY 5268
Jalsa, Mumbai                 July 15,  2022                 Fri 4:17 pm
❤️ , July 16 .. loves and wishes for the birthday Ef .. Sanjay H Aggarwal .. be happy and in wellness .. 🌺 from the Ef .. .. and to Ef Israil Bachchan , endearingly keeping DN - this is for “Display Name” , as in DP for Display Picture ..  endearingly keeps DN after my Family Name .. and one thanks for this ❤️ .. belated happy birthday to you for the 15th .. love .. 🌺
Birthday - EF - Mazal Cohen , Shalini Singh Verma .. Friday, 15 July .. and repeated greetings to the Ef on this special day  .. love 🌹
Work calls and gives impetus to the creative nerves all about , seeking where the effort needs to be pulled out of .. and one discovers to one’s horror that there really is no such gadgetry at all within the system ..
cope with it buddy or give the life up .. !
I was at work for the RBI campaign and in the scene was a little kid about 5 or 6 years of age .. in the middle of a rehearsal he turned to me and said ..
‘excuse me  , how old are you ?’
I said  ‘80′ !
he snapped back  ‘ Oh ! so why are you working ? my grandparents are sitting at home and chilling .. you should do that also ..!!’
I did not have a reply for him ..
Primarily because I was astonished at the precocious veracity of this 5 yr old  !
And secondly, I did not have an answer  !
So bid him good bye at the end of the shoot , took a picture with him and gave him an autograph, instigated by his Mother , and left ..
The conversation remained with me , as do many matters in this digitally informative encyclopaedic world, and found its placing today .. this morning .. of retired work .. and screamed and waved and applauded the mountainous presence of the live audience at ‘YKW’ ..
Tumblr media
.. humbled in their reception .. and head bowed in apt humility ..
Tumblr media Tumblr media
.. that is the very best that one can do in such conditions .. for one does not seem to be having the appropriate words to description ..
the honour of love and appreciation that is needed to give back, shall ever vary and be insufficient .. but its presence shall never be denied ..
Tumblr media
... on a graver note .. the Ef bickering amongst the Blog is an undesired element of the ethics on this platform .. we have , you and I been very cautious and exemplary in its presence .. any untoward action shall have the capacity to deviate from its morals ..
that shall be destructive ..
the over 5000 DAY’s of the connect have not been done in that spirit .. it is for all of us to preserve its sanctity and spirit
Love and admiration

My (Fake) Boyfriend
Tumblr media
Pairing: Damien Nazario x f!MC (Aisha Park)
Characters: Damien Nazario, Aisha Park, Nadia Park
Word Count: 792 words
Rating: General
Summary: Aisha asks Damien to be her pretend boyfriend.
Category: Fluff
Tagging: @burnsoslow, @rookiemartin, @mrsnazariowrites, @choicesficwriterscreations
A week after Aisha had a date with Hayden, she had a movie night with Nadia & Damien, just like any other weekend.
"Okay, guys, I'm off. It's getting pretty late now. Steve must be waiting for me. Aish, you remember that tomorrow is Shalini's wedding, right?"
"Oh, right! I almost forgot. What time is it again?"
"It starts at 11 o'clock. That means we need to be there by 10 am."
"Are you bringing Steve along?"
"Yeah, definitely. Can't wait to introduce him to the rest of the family. What about you though? Are you bringing your boyfriend?", Nadia asked, vaguely pointing towards Damien.
"Oh! I'll try my best, but I'm not sure", she said winking.
"Well, see you tomorrow."
As soon as Nadia left, Damien asked the one question that was on his mind.
"What was Nadia talking about? Who's Shalini? And the last time I checked, you don't have a boyfriend."
"Shalini is our cousin who lives in Manhattan. By the way, how are you so sure about me not having a boyfriend?"
"Nadia and I are always the first ones to know whenever you have a new partner."
"But Nadia already knows about him."
On hearing this, Damien gave a look of confusion.
"Well, buckle up, D. Cause this is one hell of a ride."
"What do you mean?", he said, not knowing how the next sentence would change his life.
"So about two years ago, my parents were forcing me to get married and look at some proposals they had. They wanted me to marry for love, but they had told me that if I didn’t find someone for me, they would pitch in. I didn't want to get into all of that stress and drama, so I accidentally blurted out that you were my boyfriend."
"What?! Why me?"
"Cause you were the only person that came into my mind!", she exclaimed. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have pushed this on you. You might have some plans for tomorrow that are more important than this mess", Aisha rambled as she calmed down.
"There is nothing more important for me than you", he thought.
"Well, I don't have anything important lined up for tomorrow, other than a meeting with a few people. Let me see what I can do."
"D, you don't have to worry. I'll tell them that you are in Paris right now."
"Won't they ask you more questions?"
"I have told them that you are a software engineer who's currently working in Paris."
"Thanks a lot for not telling them what I actually do."
"I can't tell if you're being serious or snarky."
"I think my girlfriend would be able to spot the difference", he said, smiling.
"Well, I would say that my boyfriend is being serious."
"I hate to disappoint you, Aish", saying so, he started to text someone.
"I know, but it's not a big deal. I will be able to deal with nosy people."
"All set! I'm free for three days."
"Wow! That was quick! Thanks a lot, D. This means a lot to me."
"It's the least I can do for you."
"When should we leave for tomorrow?"
"Around 9 am."
"D, this is the first time you will be meeting my parents. Naturally, they will ask you a lot of questions."
"What kind of questions?"
"Anything, ranging from my past or your past to your career and future plans with me. So just be ready for them, and tell me your answers. That way, I will be able to give the same answer, in case they try to cross-check me."
"Okay, I'll look into it."
"Also, they expect us to get married, just saying."
Damien paid no heed to that comment.
"Alright, then. Goodnight, I will see you tomorrow, Aisha."
"Tch... D. If I am supposed to be your girlfriend, you should have a cute nickname for me", she said, teasing him a little bit.
"You know I don't like them", he said, ignoring the comment that made his cheeks blush slightly.
"Just for this time, please. Also, in front of my family. I want it to be as real as possible."
"Okay, babe, I will see you tomorrow."
"Bye, honey!"
They both experienced a fuzzy and warm feeling inside them when they gave each other those pet names.
No matter how much Damien acted as if he despised the nickname, he loved it very much. He was glad that he could pretend to be her, even if it was for show. He felt as if his wait had finally been over.
For the first time in her life, she was not scared to tell her parents about her boyfriend. The thought of him being there with her gave her newfound confidence.

He tried smiling, but it didn't sit right on him. Could be that he wasn't used to video calls, but I sensed that it could also be something else. "Lead by example," Mom always used to say. So I smiled to show him, and he still didn't get it right.
"Can we expect a comeback album anytime soon?" I asked. I like to look into the camera when I ask questions, because that way you don't look distracted. He, however, continued to look into the blue-lit screen.
"No, no, nothing of the sort." At the end of this, he huffed for some air and then coughed. When he was done with that, he shook his head and drank a sip of water from a transparent plastic bottle.
"A lot of people still write comments under videos of your songs. Your lyrics resonated with them."
I think he almost smiled this time.
"It's the youth, I think. They know how to work these things. Maybe they like my lyrics because they are lyrics from my younger days."
This time around, my eyes were on the screen, and I was checking YouTube for some of the comments. I highlighted one and read it out to him. "That one's from an older user, who claims to have seen you in concert in Genoa. Do you remember that show?"
"Genoa?" he asked. "Where's that?"
I laughed in response, and he laughed too, but with more confusion than amusement.
He shrugged and shook his head a little. "People remember me for what I was. Who wants to see some washed-up old man cradling a microphone and singing songs meant for young folks?"
"You never know until you find out, right?" It wasn't in my brief to encourage him, but building a rapport is always good when you're interviewing someone. Plus, I'd come to feel sorry for the man. He could use a little pick-me-up.
"Do you listen to my music? Shaleena?"
"Shalini," I corrected him. "And no, I'm afraid not. I did do a lot of research on you, and I listened to many of your songs, but I'm not—"
"You're not a fan. Yeah."
I was about to interrupt him back, but the latency of the video call allowed him to continue without me.
"Look," he said. "Music isn't like a photograph. It's not something you capture in a bottle and keep it with you for memories. Music is electric, Sharleen. It's fire! You play a song before a live audience once, and you can't capture that feeling again, not as the artist, not as the listener."
This time, I wanted to correct him again, but he continued unabated, like a train at full-speed, breaking through barricades.
"I try to go back to that, and what will you get? A phony. Second-hand goods. Old man trying to step into a boy's shoes. Well, I'm no phony. I'm the real deal. I'm not going to sell bottle of nostalgia. If they wanted to listen to me live, they should've been born in the right decade, that's what I'd tell them."
I waited for a few seconds, to make sure he was done speaking. He was. He apologised and asked if I have any more questions.
Shutting the notebook on my lap, I put it aside on my desk and pinched my forehead. I stared at him throughout, via the camera, and he looked at his screen, at me.
"No, no more questions." I closed the YouTube page, and the other tabs I had open for research. "I guess I was looking for a phony to answer my questions. Turns out, I was interviewing the real deal."

Eva had sensed it in the hotel room earlier that day, but brushed it off thinking that he was just tired from the weekend and perhaps his workout... But weren't workouts generally good at making people feel better? Yet Sameer had stood there looking less than impressed with the conversation they were having while she was trying her best to keep things light and normal. This wasn't like them. When she thought back to all the countless conversations they'd had, all the meals they shared together, all the delirious laughs they'd let out in one another's presence, Eva couldn't help, but feel as though this was a completely different Sameer standing before her. She could feel it even during their lunch which was unusually quiet, Sameer only answering her clerically or with a mild jab (though Eva was sure she was making that part up because she believed her Sameer would never do that).
Eva was doing her best to tie this goddamn saree, but she had forgotten how the salesperson at the store had done it. She tried helplessly for a few more minutes before her instincts kicked in and she found herself stopping herself short from giving into them for the first time. Eva had wanted to call out to Sameer who was in the bathroom getting ready for this evening's ceremony, but felt for the first time like she would be burdening him by asking for his help. She didn't know what to do in that moment considering she was truly failing at this entire thing. She didn't know anyone else well enough to ask, not getting numbers from any of the other girls she had been with the night before since he phone was dead. But there was one person she could ask. They had exchanged numbers the day before at breakfast and she was so thankful that they did, Eva quickly texting Sameer's older sister for her help. Thank god Shalini replied promptly, giving Eva her hotel room number as she made her way past the locked bathroom door to the hotel room mentioned in the text.
"Thank you so much for doing this Shalini. You're a lifesaver." The other woman only waved a hand dismissively, "Don't worry about it. Now stand still." She did as she was told, standing there as Sameer's older sister had the pink saree draped perfectly on her frame. "It suits you," she complimented, pinning the palu in place to the shoulder of her blouse. "I've got to hurry back, but thank you so much." By the time she returned, the bathroom door was open and Sameer was standing there in that kurta pajama with that pink vest that matched her saree. "Sorry," she exhaled, having rushed back as quickly as she could in the ethnic wear. "I didn't know how to put this on and you were... busy. I ended up getting your sister to help me out." Thankfully, it was the last thing she had needed done, now completely ready to go. She made her way over to Sameer rubbing her eyeliner onto her finger and silently pressing the black dot against the skin behind his ear, tonight waiting expectantly for him to do the same.

Episode 8 or... wait, Huda hasn’t actually changed

Naveen’s voiceover tells us that Raj set the code exercise to see which cadet would be able to crack it, as they would be the likely candidate for the spy then.
Someone has put the answer on the board without revealing their identity (much like the code itself, the answer is ridiculous). Naina passes by the classroom and stops to wish him a good morning. He points out that the code has been cracked and asks if it was her. Naina tells him it wasn’t and Raj dismisses her.
Meanwhile Dr Shalini is checking all of the cadets blood pressure as Pooja complains to the other cadets about the training. They’re about to take part in a drill and the boys discuss who will win.
Yudi is called for his test and his blood pressure sky rockets, poor Yudi. He claims that he was jogging 😁 Shalini makes some jokes about his enthusiasm and that he can have BC’s job one day.
Huda steals the taweez from Naina’s pocket and she flattens him to the ground to get it back. Shalini tells Major Nair he won’t need to train the cadets too much, they’re already willing to fight.
They are going to do a trust drill and cannot leave their partners. They will need to complete the task and reach the exit points, and remain with their partners.
Raj is with Dr Mishra in the mess and asks if she has observed anything about the new cadets, he feels they’re quite different. Shalini joins them, asking if she’s being a kebab mein haddi.
Shalini starts telling them about what happened with Naina and Huda and that Naina threw him down. The wheels of Raj’s mind start working even as Shalini and Ritu go onto a tangent. Raj’s thoughts tell us that he feels there’s something different about Naina but whether she is the spy only time will tell.
Major Nair announces the pairs - Alekh and Pooja, Ali and Yudi, Naina and Huda. Poor Naina. They all have different tasks to complete; to find a rifle, to fix a broken water pump, and to transport an injured soldier.
The cadets start out, Yudi is enthusiastic but Ali points out he’s reading the map wrong. Luckily he has Ali to point him in the right direction.
Meanwhile Pooja is questioning Alekh. “Did he really kill someone? Why did he kill them? Girlfriend problem? Revenge for his parents?”
Alekh looks like he would like to kill someone right then.
Alekh stops to bury a bottle and Pooja is shocked, he tells her not to tell anyone. She has run out of water and asks for his - only to spit it out when she realises it’s alcohol.
She asks him why he’s not ashamed to drink in front of a girl and tries to grab it from him, the alcohol spills onto the ground and Alekh grabs Pooja’s collar.
Meanwhile Huda continues to be annoying and flirt with Naina, claiming that he cracked Captain Rajveer’s code and asking her about her taweez.
They reach a steep hill which Naina insists on climbing despite Huda saying he knows a shortcut. When she reaches the top, Huda goes to follow only for Naina to throw down the tree root she used to climb up so he can’t. At this point in time I am so annoyed by Huda’s comments that I would like to throw something at him through the screen so I can’t blame Naina for wanting to leave him behind.
Raj is shooting basketball hoops when Dr Ritu arrives. He tells her he’s come to check if he still has his skills and she says in psychology this means he has his destination but doesn’t know how to reach there (she definitely did not actually get that psychology qualification). He hasn’t managed to convince Brigadier Chandook of his teaching methods yet.
Dr Mishra hands over the cadets psychological profiles and interview recordings to Raj. He’s grateful and asks for her opinion - from the new batch, which cadet would be most dangerous to have as an enemy.
Dr Mishra tells him it would be Naina.
Memorable moments?: Not really, we’re still getting to know our characters at this point and settling in.

Women’s Day
This Women's day theme is Each for equal. The day aimed to help nations worldwide eliminate discrimination against women. It also focused on helping women gain full and equal participation in global development.
I attended a celebration of my University's Women's day where the chief guest was DIG Mr. Shalini Dixit. In her speech, she displayed some of the very heartbreaking information. Now coming to the statistical numbers that show the exponential increments crime against women. The world has faced some of the worst cases against women that occurred in India like Delhi and Hyderabad gang rape.
Women's safety. Well, we all make women's safety a political subject but we all should realize that a woman can not always be saved by another person. A woman's safety can be assured by herself. Parents can not keep their daughters safe all life. This way they will lead to suffocating the woman by not allowing to live them on their terms. A brother cannot always stay near her to protect. But he can teach her how to protect themselves. This world is transforming, and we should evolve equally. Kill the cat at first sight.
Let's just put that world is not a better place, neither for men and women. A person's safety assurance can be ingested all by themselves.
Mrs. Dixit told us that there many updated and women affairs regulations that we are not aware of. She also told us all to have basic procedures and rights knowledge at the moment of crime and afterward.
My world is around you guys. And I want my world to be pure. The magnetism of the phrase, "Each one Teach one" has awakened me. She also pointed out that most of the crime can be refused. Please trust and make good use of your ‘gut feel’ or ‘intuition’ or ‘sixth sense’ in each & every place and situation. She asked some general questions regarding woman's safety and awareness and no one can answer. Stay Educated about every rights and regulation regarding safety. She suggested keeping local police station numbers and other safety dials on your speed dials.
Be Safe.
Love you all.
