Were you named after anyone?: Yess I was named after Burl Ives, but you wouldn't know it because I spell and pronounce my name differently~

When was the last time you cried?: I made the mistake of thinking about The Lion King a few hours ago~

Do you have kids?: I make kids all the time. Like crying over the lion king because I randomly was thinking about how real to life the animation was of Simba pulling on Mufasa's ear and holygodddddd he was trying to wake his dad up whyyyyyyy are animators so supremely great at heartsqueezing~~~ I'm just kidding. That was a kid.

What sports do you play/have you played?: all of them I think~ I live by the fake it until you make it mindset and I'm still figuring out the latter part of that. But I did study pickleball thoroughly under its venerable founder, The Earl of Pickle

Do you use sarcasm?: William Shakesman said that's the lowest form of brevity so I try to avoid it whenever possible, also I'm horrendously bad at it to where I sound completely sincere and this has resulted in one too many punches to the face because, surprisingly if you poorly sarcastically announce you'd really love to be just hit in the face there are a LOT of people who are all too eager to jump in~

What is the first thing you notice about people?: That they're always trying to figure out if I hate them because I had a fairly consistent RBF crossed with an inclination to be mysterious. Through online interactions I first take note of their comma frequency because that says so much about a person's Oxford-related preferences.

What's your eye color?: Blue or green or grey depending which type of light you shove in my face, followed by whatever my eyelid is because moonlight makes me squint

Scary movies or happy endings?: I like the ones where nothing is really resolved and the story just sort of stops because everyone gave up and it was probably lunchtime so f*ck it~

Any talents?: I can do a hair flip like nobody's business, which is to say no one should ever be in the business of doing such hair flips because I've knocked over more cups and hit my head on more things than anyone should do in five lifetimes.

Where were you born?: I'm fairly certain I've always been, because whenever I attempt to find the record of my birth Mr. Tumnus plays an enchanting tune and I wake up in a cold room.

What are your hobbies?: arguing on the Internet and street corners why Fullmetal Alchemist 2003 is better than Brotherhood. I took up the hobby after some guy stole my bicycle which was an outrage, but that was his hobby and he imparted the wisdom which set me on my path which is that a hobby is something that makes you completely miserable and spreads that misery onto anyone unfortunate enough to share your space.

Do you have any pets?: No, no one ever wants to pet me and it's probably because of the below answer

How tall are you?: 6'2

Favorite subject in school?: History. Not so much for the subject matter but because memorizing facts comes obscenely easy to me and I loved writing excessively lengthy essays which went nowhere and were loaded with as many funny words as I could muster like trying to relate an unrelated event to the future of filibustering.

Dream job?: Tending a lighthouse so I could make giant shadowpuppets over the water and make alligator mouths eat the ships.

I don’t know which part of all of this mess I love the most: The Mayor flaunting the super-special one-of-a-kind scarf/cape while practically turning himself into a suitable replacement for said scarf or Erlang Shen calling himself “This Great One” (gives off Ore-sama vibes ngl) while he casually drops the bomb that Liu’er has a palace of his own??? Like??? Total glow-up from that raggedly dojo in canon.

Also, since I want to shower Liu’er with MORE suitors (as he deserves), I bring forward the scenario of Syntax shyly offering his inventions to Liu’er. They range from making life more convenient to being weapons of mass destruction. Only the best for Liu’er ❤️

Also? I want LBD and Spider Queen to get in on the ship war and lowkey supporting their henchmen. (Wukong’s “harem” are not amused since they’ve seen Shadowpeach pine since the beginning of time and want some proper resolution. What are these pests doing here???) Actually, I want the Jade Emperor and the rest of Heaven to get in on that.

(Seeing that you’re structuring this AU to be as close to SVSSS as possible…does this make LBD Tianlang-jun? Then shouldn’t Mayor’s role be more Zhushi-lang and Erlang be Liu Qingge?)

A possible route that can open up the Erlang Shen joining the long line of suitors for our hapless Liu’er: The system pushes Liu’er to make contact with Erlang before/during the War against Heaven. Despite his prejudice, Erlang finds himself drawn to/charmed by Liu’er. Ends up besotted when the monkey brings Heaven’s Most Wanted to his and the Jade Emperor’s feet (even though the poor guy is obviously heartbroken and scared for his life).

Another possible route: Something akin to a “Witness Protection Program” for Liu’er after he “betrays” Wukong and Erlang is his semi-handler/bodyguard for the first few centuries after Wukong got out.

I just really like the idea of an already besotted Erlang Shen being able to track Macaque and his every move because he's being appointed as his "bodyguard" like this dude really won the lottery for Macaque's time and attention.

Hello! Welcome to the Blue and Violet Ask Blog!

As you might have guessed, this is an ask blog where you can ask the Mayor (Blue) and Macaque (Violet) from LMK questions! However, before anything else, there are a few things that you need to know.

General House Keeping:

First things first, if you are not aware already, this blog is directly based and linked to the Blue and Violet Fanfiction series on AO3. Written by yours truly, me (admin/DF), haha! Link to the fic series is in the bio/under the header. If you want to ask questions, please make sure you are up to date with all the chapters in ALL the fics in the series.

What this means is that the only things Macaque and Mayor have experienced is within the context of this fanfiction series (which contains lots of establishment of how they know each other and their perspectives during seasons 1-4). Therefore, you definitely cannot ask these two about season five related things, because it hasn't happened to them yet!

Due to this, this blog will follow the timeline and events of what happens in the newest instalment of the series, 'Winter Mornings, Summer Nights' (previously, it was 'Colours'). After every chapter is posted, you will be able to ask Macaque and Mayor questions relating to that chapter or any events prior.

I must also state that this is a shadowpuppet ask blog. While I am open to any asks that involve mentions of other ships (which may involve either Macaque or Mayor) please keep in mind that shadowpuppet will be the main focus :))). If you don't like this and have a desire to assert your opinion regarding that? Then please, I kindly ask that you do not interact with this blog for your sake, my sake, and for the sake of everyone else who might want to enjoy this. Thank you :))).

IMPORTANT: Whatever happens in this ask blog is NOT canon to the fic series. However, what happens in the fic series directly affects this blog. This means that nothing you ask or say on this blog will affect the Blue and Violet storyline.

Regarding Asks:

I think I will be able to answer every question that you all submit. However, if I find a question too offensive, too uncomfortable, too strange (meaning I just don't understand it :'D) or something that will potentially spoil the future events of the fic series, then I will have to unfortunately ignore the ask. Either that, or I simply answer the ask with a silly picture of some sorts. On that note, please don't ask any character or me what will happen next! They probably don't know either! You'll all just have to wait and see ;D.

You can ask both Macaque and Mayor any questions you desire (within reason of course)! Any side character featured in Blue and Violet is also open to any questions :DDD!

Not only can you ask the characters questions, but you can also just ask me questions about the series in general? Or just... Say something I guess? I've had people do that on my main blog, and it always makes me happy to see that people like what I am writing!

I would also like to make a minor PSA regarding certain types of asks: Yes, you can give gifts to the characters! However it is very unlikely they will become a recurring object. Also, I have noticed that there have been cases where people have submitted asks either roleplaying characters (both canon and OC) and/or requesting interactions with canon/OC characters. Please know that while I haven't had a problem with doing these yet, don't expect me to come up with the perfect response for it XDDD, nor expect any sort of continuation of role play. After all, this ask blog, while being a separate entity in its own right, still follows the narrative of the fanfiction series.

IMPORTANT: After experimenting with the ask box, I have decided that the box will be open for 24 hours whenever it opens! This allows people from different time zones to have an equal chance to get something in if they want, haha. No cap limit on the box for now, just go wild (before I regret this)!

That aside, I think ShadowPuppet is cool! I've seen that ship a couple of times and thinks it's chill. Would it be healthy? FUCK NO. But neither would Wukong x Mayor so it's okay. I think the idea of both Lady Bone Demons servents being together and toxic is a cool concept. Honestly I've seen more Wukong x Macaque x Mayor more then just Macaque x Mayor. Either way, I think ShadowPuppet is cool! If you ship it, keep rocking 🫶🏻

I remember I read a fic where Macaque and Mayor were together but both were like "Yeah your cool and everything, but your not Wukong." And that just makes me laugh.
