Thinking about Shadowheart and Halsin getting together post game in her little cottage core ending.

After her mother passes away she starts to fret about her dad being left all alone after she dies and gets a little bit of baby fever. She approaches Halsin to be the father with no expectation of anything further; she knows his lifestyle and he’s busy at the rebuilding of his old settlement. She’s fully prepared to raise the child by herself.

Halsin agrees but after she gives birth it ends up being twins and he just…stays for a bit to help out on the farm and with the babies, she’s not far from Reithwin so he can still get there quick by paw or wing. And then 20 years pass and they have 5 kids and are just like, well I guess we’re in love now!

Wyll x Karlach: wyll is a hopeless romantic and Karlach just wants soft relationship and I think she'd help him with the new horns and he'd help her reexperience all the intimacy and soft relationships she missed during her time in Avernus and also I want a dance scene with them here he tries to teach her without actually touching her. It would be some of Wylls most cherished memories, even after she dies and it takes him a while to move on and she's forever the one who got away because he couldn't bring himself to send her back to Avernus cuz it's the one wish she had and now I'm sad writing this

Lae'zel x Shadowheart (short term): they would not be a healthy (romantic) relationship in the long term. But I feel like they force all the pent up emotions about all the bullshit they're experiencing out of each other and by extent help each other process it. Ultimately they figure that out and just kinda part ways romantically, but the understanding makes them lifelong friends.

Lae'zel x Gale: he'd reach out to her in that awkward 'idk what to say or do because I don't deal with people but I know how you feel' kinda way after the creche. She just tolerates him as he rambles about special interests and maybe answers questions about the astral sea and the gith as she opens up more. They kinda bond over the realization that their respective gods are both assholes and that each other are worth more than they were originally led to believe.

Shadowheart x Halsin (later life): idk if they'd be long term, but I like the idea what after shadowheart is forced to revaluate her beliefs and faith and ultimately herself and place in the world that Halsin is just a kind shoulder and he helps her rediscover herself and what it is to have healthy relationships without expectations and also she gets to climb mount Halsin but that's a later thing.

Astarion x Halsin: Idk if it would be long term, but the two would def help each other through their respective traumas and at minimum always mean the world to each other even if they decide to pursue it as a friendship and not a romantic interest and Astarion would help Halsin realize self care and it's okay to be selfish sometimes and Halsin would help him understand that he can find fulfillment in helping others

Ooof Halsin x Shadowheart with hanahaki disease would be amazing.

Of course Shadowheart should be the one growing flowers in her lungs, thinking it yet another punishment from her Goddess. Until she starts coughing up clovers, dandelions and chamomille, flowers that are pale and bright and readily associated with wild meadows and sunshine.

A small dandelion bud tries to grow and stitch together the incurable wound but it only makes the pain worse. If only there was person who’d know how to calm down this affliction…

Ok but what about werewolf Shadowheart paired with Astarion and Halsin? I don’t know if werewolves and vampires have beef in dnd lore… but they could. And like imagine Shadowheart turning and Halsin having to go into bear form to fight her! Oh god, I’m the same person I was when books like Twilight and the Vampire Diaries were coming out.

selunite shadowheart after ending her parents’ suffering not quite realizing how immense her daddy issues are. the concept of having a father isn’t something she’s ever craved until now, now that she knows she could have had that experience, felt that type of care and love. as much compassion as she has for the orphaned children halsin has rounded up, there’s a pang of sick jealousy each time she sees them crowded around him, holding his hands or pleading to be picked up.

in all that time she believed herself an orphan, and now that she truly is one, when had she ever received such kindness? such tender love that only a father figure could provide? there’s a guilt that underlies it too— shar should have been enough. now, selune’s embrace should be more than enough to sate her parental longing.

she finds herself falling into step at halsin’s side, wrapping three of her fingers around one of his. she doesn’t protest when her feet ache and he offers to carry her, letting her facade of self-sufficiency slip away. she can’t refuse when he wakes her so gently from a horrid dream, insisting that he’d hold her through the night until peaceful sleep found her.

shadowheart feels weak and small next to him, but not in a bad way that makes her feel degraded or insignificant. when they’re scouting or traveling together, her mind goes quiet and everything fades away that isn’t his guidance or gentle instruction, his hand tugging her back by the waist just before she stumbles over a protruding root, his voice calling her to come admire at a particularly pretty flower or a cute animal sleeping in the meadow.

halsin, so used to interacting with the displaced children that he barely notices his slip up when shadowheart asks him for help and he replies “in just a moment, little one”
