im sorry but i will never be over the fact that from the time his mother died all the way to like halfway through soc Wylan had no one. his father was abusive, he never formed any connections with the servants or other merchant kids, and his relationship with Alys was strained because she was so close to his age and married to his father. and then his father tried to kill him, and so he runs away from the only place that could ever have been considered a home and joins the Dregs, where everyone treats him like he's useless and a burden. even at the beginning of soc, everyone's kinda shitty to him (even Inej).

Matthias had family in the druskellë, even if they were incredibly hateful and prejudiced. Nina had family at the Little Palace and then with Inej and Jesper. Kaz had family with Inej and Jesper (though he'd never admit it). Inej had family with Jesper and Nina and Kaz. Jesper had family with Inej and Nina and Kaz and the other Dregs. but Wylan was alone.

his father tried to kill him, and he had no one to fall back on. no one to hug him and tell him it would all be okay, no one to laugh or smile or cry with. he was entirely alone.

after my first #netflixhate post, i spent weeks and weeks gathering data on other incidents. and now, after having just seen a post about midnight club, the circle is finally complete.

I just don't understand how Netflix works. Why cancel shit just because it's not EVERYONE'S cup of tea or doesn't have as much views?? . Imagine if everything went by that rule. honestly netflix just keep shooting themselves in the foot. they can’t keep making shows and then cancelling them. i don’t even wanna watch netflix original shows anymore because I don’t want to emotionally invest in a show netflix doesn’t give a shit about and will cancel immediately anyway. they never let any show have a proper story and a proper ending. why should we care about netflix when they don’t care about the audience nor the show creators

Kaz Brekker doesn't have manners? The fact that he immediately turned away to give her privacy when she started removing only a small part of her clothes shows that he has manners when he wants to. No one can understand Inej's trauma better than Kaz and give her the respect she deserves.

the reason the darkling thinks alina will be capable of forgiving him for everything he does to her with just a little time is because he has spent centuries forgiving his mother for her abuse of him simply because the alternative is eternal loneliness. he is always always mimicking his relationship with his mother in his relationship with alina.

holy shit every single time i see those lists of cancelled netflix shows, i can’t help but notice how queer they are. Shadow and Bone is just another in a long list - several of its main characters are queer, there’s even some on-screen gay relationships (rip wesper and tamadia, you deserved better!!)

but it’s not the only one. I am not okay with this? Great show, so much potential, but oh no! the main character's into girls! Ofc it didn’t get another season. everything sucks? another show with a major wlw relationship and queer characters that got cancelled

the society? 1899? i can just imagine how good they could’ve been if I they’d had more seasons to work with. but again, it had a couple of lgbtq characters, so i should know by now that it wasn’t going to happen.

obviously not every queer show gets cancelled, and it’s not necessarily just bc they are queer, but i can’t help but sense a pattern. at this point it’s just sad.

EPISODE named after WYLAN VAN FUCKING ECK, that would be about his relationship with his father, Jesper and would give us the Matthias & Wylan duo we never got before??????
