The Monster Club (1981)
Tumblr media
An anthology movie based around the premise of an acclaimed horror writer who is regailed with tales of Terror after being invited to a monster club by a vampire.
In the first story a conwoman agrees to marry a monster known as a shadmock in order to gain access to and steal his wealth. During their masquerade engagement party she is introduced to her fiancé's family which includes a dance with a particularly hairy uncle portrayed by Pat "Bomber" Roach.

Featured Wrestler:
Pat Roach as Great Uncle
Wrestle Rating:
3 out of 5 Weregoos
Tumblr media
A good concept with a great cast including Vincent Price, Donald Pleasence and Britt Ecklund but the aweful masks during the club scenes will put off a lot of people. The former British Heavyweight Champion is hard to spot and doesn't get to show off any of his loveable giant persona that would go on to make him a UK household name in "Auf Wiedersehen, Pet" just a few years later.

27/31 Watched The Monster Club and I wish I had seen it sooner! It's so colorful, fun, and every story is entertaining. The kind of movie that seems like it was a good time to make. Plus the music is great, cool monsters, and it has the best striptease ever, what's not to love?

Shadmocks are rather unfortunate, pitiful creatures created through magical hybridization of werewolves, Ghouls, and Vampires. These experiments have produced numerous different hybrid species, but the Shadmock is generally considered the weakest of the lot.
Shadmocks appear human, although they possess certain qualities that betray their monstrous lineage; bushy eyebrows, pale sunken skin. They may not be physically unattractive, but they are generally found to be repellent by most other beings.
Shadmocks are not evil by nature, in fact most of them are very shy and withdrawn, living alone as collectors of rare treasure and occult lore. They are however all very lonely, craving companionship, and when denied that companionship, or if it is threatened in someway, the Shadmock becomes angry, and when a Shadmock becomes angry, they whistle.
While lacking most of the powers of their more dangerous kin (out side of some resistances and a higher than normal constitution) the Shadmocks have one devastating power at their disposal; their whistle. The sound of which rots and putrefies the flesh of its target, usually reducing them to a rotting mass of meat. The Shadmocks sometimes use these zombie husks as companions, but quickly tires of them.

I wanna some Shadmock whistle 😜🌈❤️
Outcasts I'd like to see in Wednesday
More greek mythology
Gorgons are cool and all, but I'd like to see more, like Minotaurs, Hydras or anything! And yes, I did just list all the greek creatures I could think of. But come on, wouldn't it be cool if instead of a hyde, Wednesday would have to fight a 3(+- how much they cut off) headed hydra in s2? Like I'd love to see more of sword wielding Wednesday, all armored and stuff. She'd totally rock chainmail, and she could be riding her werewolf gf!
Other mythology
I have a genie OC, and I really like the idea. Like why can't genies and other contries' mythical creatures exist and go to Nevermore? Just some ideas: Oni, Cyclops, mummies, etc.
Pop culture monsters
Idunno if that's the right expression lol, but I also have an invisible OC, and they could add more of the classic monsters and creatures too! Fairies, unicorns, you can imagine!
Biblical monsters/demons
Like angels, succubuses, I can't say much, but it'd be cool!
More originals!
I think they did a pretty good job on the hyde, so if they were to create something new again, they'd be more than welcome to by me! Wether it's something totally new, or just a twist on something that already exists, idc!

Imagine your faves as monsters from R Chetwynde-Hayes’ The Monster Club. Here’s the family tree, also written out after the cut.
Vampires sup; werewolves hunt; ghouls tear; shaddies lick; maddies yawn; raddies drool; mocks blow; and shadmocks only whistle.
Werewolf/Vampire = Werevamp
Werewolf/Ghoul = Weregoo
Vampire/Ghoul = Vamgoo
Werevamp/Weregoo = Shaddy
Weregoo/Vamgoo = Maddy
Vamgoo/Werevamp = Raddy
Any Shaddy/Maddy/Raddy combination = Mock
Mock/other hybrid = Shadmock
