Shattered Glass Perceptor scares me. Like wdym that the few if not the only cybertronian that can match Shockwave in intellageince and expertese is evil?

Like not only is he doing things as awful as Shockwave is. But he's enjoying it. SG Perceptor isn't doing these experaments for science, or beacuse it's logical.SG Perceptor dosn't have that emontial or empathedic deiconect like Shockwave. Shockwave knows what he's doing is generally considered absolutly horrendus, but dosen't care, and dosen't feel anything about it. Which is scary on it's own. But like, SG Perceptor has that full capacity to feel and empathize and dose it anyways, and enjoys it.

G1: goofy '80s faction dads fighting each other in a denny's parking lot every week LET'S GOOO, that shit is fun as fuck. orion pax also totally had a celeb crush on megatron before megatron ruined that and shot him and his pals 😔 and there's a lot of angst you can add with megatron becoming galvatron and optimus coming back to life to see how much he's changed!

BW: it's the sheer fucking comedy gold factor of a newly minted college graduate and a terrorist dinosaur IMMEDIATELY singling each other out on a prehistoric rock and deciding to call their daily gang slap-fights the BEAST WARS, what iconic drama queens LMAOOOO. also, megatron made his final body in BM look like optimal optimus SPECIFICALLY to fuck with him, and that's just...incredible

UT: the fact that megatron CANONICALLY acted like a grieving widower over optimus after he died in armada is. amazing. never forget their absolutely insane obsession with each other that they can never EVER give up on played a direct part in unicron nearly ending the world <3

Bayverse: this is the one continuity of all fucking things that gave us the lore about megatron being prime's lord high protector. absolute galaxy brain writing from the tie-in comics. also these two would ABSOLUTELY have the messiest, nastiest, most brutal hate sex imaginable, and that's beautiful. <3

Animated: optimus being a rookie washout underdog and megatron being a super scary much older warlord is a really interesting and underrated fresh take on their dynamic! lots of fun to be had with exploring what their relationship would be like after megatron finally acknowledged him as his archnemesis, lol. also...age AND size difference ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Prime: do i even need to say anything, i'm pretty sure that one flashback still of orion and megatronus being friends is responsible for birthing a million shippers for this pairing alone LMAOOOO. the bitter ex-boyfriends energy was TRULY off the charts in this show, it's a damn shame megatron never appeared in RID15

Cyberverse: same bitter ex-boyfriends energy but this time with dates at maccadams. megatron also dies encouraging optimus to beat the unhinged alternate dimension megs AAHH THE ANGST

IDW1: they're both depressed gay war criminals in this one who CONSTANTLY live in each other's heads rent-free and that's amazing, lmfao. also, megatron becoming an autobot means this is one of the VERY FEW continuities where it's not nigh impossible to figure out a way to give these two a happy ending together in fanon

IDW2: space date space date SPACE DATE. they were falling together and everything. megatron also LITERALLY tells optimus to open himself to him...to give him the matrix...yeah megs my dude i'm sure that's the ONLY thing you wanted from optimus "opening" himself. toootally positive, lol

G1 Marvel: megatron was SUPER fucking pissed and weird as shit about the time optimus died over a video game. it counts

Dreamwave: their first fight had megatron urging optimus to join him AND they disappeared together in a space bridge explosion once which is like, a fanfic-esque setup for them to be alone. also i'm pretty sure this is the continuity where optimus accidentally gave megatron a lobotomy, so...uh...potential for angst is to be had

SG: mirror universe!! evil crazy villain optimus with noble goody-goody hero megatron has so much potential for absolute chaos. bonus if you also bring in the normal versions somehow through multiverse shenanigans <3

KP: the only way this version of prime can redeem himself from the creepy underage human girl bullshit is if he gets a good hard dicking from megatron. next

Honestly, I really doubt that Optimus would have been able to change without Unicron's intervention, and this makes SG even more depressing, even if you consider that at the end of the comic the war ends.

I have a headcanon that Optronix, despite all his desire for power, is an introvert. And if something happened after the war and the restoration of Cybertron, he would have simply locked himself in the library again (if he hadn't been executed, and I have a strong feeling that the Decepticons would have wanted him executed, and in a cruel way).

Big personality/backstory yaps⬇️

Kiloton: CMO who worked his way up to the position along with some assistants from the worker class. Can’t fight due to a birth defect resulting in a leg brace. Is a bit of an asshole to most because he’s scared of getting attached and losing loved ones again. Why he lets himself love Megatron is shit he asks himself every day of his life. He also worries for Megatron’s mental health a bit because of Megatron’s occasional weird cult song or story. Also did I mention he is on some Kendrick Lamar levels of hate?? He hates the autobots more than he hates anything and Megatron will sometimes listen to his very violent ranting a about what he’d do to the autobots if he could

Megatron: orphaned due to a mining “accident” where he and his siblings were then taken to be gladiators. After watching his siblings die in there he made his escape, promising to live for them after the other gladiators told them their Unicron cult stories about “Unicron’s will” and “prophecies”.

Optimus:as per Bees orders he’s not a very hands on violent crazy maniac guy. He’s not as hands on at all since he acknowledges his own asthma as a weakness he treats everything like a game of chess where he already knows what you’re going to do. Orion worked his way up to being the servant of sentinel prime before killing him and taking the matrix for himself, forging a convincing death with the help of Elita. He started a very dystopian way of life and was very hypnotic. When Megatron stood up against what Optimus was preaching he was captured and they tried to weld his mouth shut (instead of Megatron being able to open it wide to speak/bite) and removed his wings to keep him from escaping. Optimus was confident that Megatron would perish so he was left for dead until a separate group of rebels found him and took him with them.

The decepticons were formed from Starscreams group saving Megatron that day. Kiloton was ordered to patch Megatron up and he did

For the god parents au, you said that normal version won't let Bee die, but what about SG? I sorta imagine SG bee definitely getting closer to death from his team's actions and punishments(SG prowl definitely seems cruel and vindictive). Maybe SG bee gets trapped under rubble and left for dead.

Well yeah, normally Bee's parents won't let him die. They'll keep his light shining until someone comes and helps him and ease his pain until that.

In shattered glass i think it's rather split argument. Primus wants Bee to keep living and rule the world while Unicron, although not that actively making it happen, would not mind if their bitty joined them and ascended. Unicron has a whole plan made in case that ever happens.

Unicron may have created few of situations where Bee might've died so he could ascend but Primus is keeping a close eye on everything and always makes sure Bee survives, even if he's suffering... Unicron has to always backtrack on his plan and ease his bitty's pain to make up for the other parent's coldness.

Bee doesn't like any of it, he just wants to live peacefully but apparently he can't even have that.

I would assume Unicron would stop his pursuit for his bitty to ascend after one too many times and Bee snapping... but if Bee ever did die then he'd welcome him with open arms to their realm and teach him all there is to learn. At that point Bee would just accept his fate alongside Unicron. Primus is not that happy about it but he tries to be.

As for the reason Bee died. Yeah I can see his team dumping him for dead or taking revenge for betraying them. Either way both parents are gonna be pissed and try to make their lives miserable. Of course, since Unicron is closer cuz they're on earth, he influences everything to go wrong with them, even if it's escessive r/fuckyouinparticular style. He'll even command birds to shit on them all the time just to spite them. Primus, being cruel and collected individual, will use his shattered allspark for this; whenever they find a shard he'll wreck havoc with its power to the point it's almost impossible to obtain it before it disappears. He'll come so close to killing them but makes sure they survive so he can torture them like this for a long while.

Japanese G1 continuity is absolutely not normal about girls but damned if they don't give us some of the best ones

There was a significant amount of Transformers continuity released between 1987 and around 2007 that was produced in Japanese and is really only known to most English-speaking fans through fansubs, dubs that were only released in Australia, and the like. Shows like Headmasters, Victory, and Zone. Manga like Victory and 15 Go Go Go Teletraan (which was really mostly Kiss Players). Radio shows like Kiss Players.

I'm gonna be super up front. Japanese G1 is not normal about femmes in any way, shape or form. At the same time, it gave us some of the BEST and most underused female characters in the Transformers universe.

Headmasters, which came out right after the US G1 show ended, is particularly egregious. In Headmasters, Arcee has been reduced to Fort Max's administrative assistant, uses ridiculously polite and subservient language, and is also the only medic. And being a medic would be kind of badass if they let her be as badass as Ratchet, you know? But they absolutely do not.

Also, in Headmasters, Carly (now married to Spike) allows her son--a freaking child, not even a teenager--to go on missions when Spike can't and a human is needed, because uh, for some reason it's better for a 12 year old boy to go, not an adult woman?

But most of the good femmes don't come from Headmasters. And some of the best femmes we have are from Japanese G1.

Super-God Masterforce made it up to us by giving gave us Minerva, a human girl who is a Headmaster with a robot body (transtector) making her basically a bad ass mecha pilot, and who actively does fight.

The Victory manga gives us Esmeral, Deathsaurus' incredibly classy wife, and Lyzack, Leozack's twin sister, who is in charge of defending the homefront but really does want to go out and fight. Illumina appears in both the Victory manga and the anime. She's a little human girl who has a crush on Jan Minakaze and is always trying to get people to choose nonviolence.

(Lyzack later appears in an English-language comic - the Wings Universe--wherein she's basically Deathsaurus' servant and Starscream hits on her. I don't like that.)

There are a number of great femmes who were only ever toys. The Cobalt Sentries set gave us Howlback, leader of the Decepticon military police (called the Cobalt Sentries). She is basically Ravage's twin sister but instead of being super stealthy she can turn your attacks right back on you.

(Later she appears in several English language comics and in at least one she is canonically trans. I'm not a fan of her depiction in the SG Recordicons Batman tribute arc, though.)

The Unite Warriors toyline - Takara's response to Combiner Wars, basically - gave us the combiner Megatronia, made up of Megaempress, and her four guards, Lunaclub (sometimes called Luna Clover or Luna Trefle), Flowspade, Moonheart, and Trickdiamond. They are incredibly awesome.

(IDW 2019 used Trickdiamond, but none of the others. Tricky was one of Swindle's contacts.)

Then there's the elephant in the room that everyone pretends isn't there...Kiss Players.

So, okay. There is nothing normal about Kiss Players whatsoever. On the other hand, I'd rather listen to KP than watch RID2015 which is just blatant copaganda from hell.

Kiss Players had an interesting plot involving little bits of Galvatron and Unicron getting into humans and creating the Kiss Players--humans who could give TFs a powerup by kissing them and then merging with their internals somehow. Then there are the Legions, the dick-tongued monsters that everyone who hasn't actually listend to the show or read the manga thinks are Megatron.

The dick-tongued monsters are gross. It is also gross that some of the Kiss Players are barely teenagers and definitely not adults and are constantly ending up in Situations.

But the plot centres around the apparent rise of Convoy, or Optimus, from the dead, and his transformation into a weird groomery dude, which many people don't understand there was an actual reason for, because it's not Optimus, it's someone else riding around in his body.

Melissa Faireborn is like if you chopped Marissa Faireborn's IQ in half, dyed her hair blond and threw out any pants or skirts that covered her knees. She is nothing like Marissa and I treat them as cousins, but Xiaoxiao Li is amazing and her real lover.

Anyhow, this female scientist (Dr Amaou) lost her mind over the loss of her daughter during the events of the 1986 movie et sequelae, and she's got to be stopped from turning Atari and her Autorooper robot pal into a permanent fusion to reincarnate her daughter Shizuku (whom for some reason I always want to call Setsuna instead).

It's a little confusing because most of the really good parts of the plot got jammed into a few episodes near the end of the season, although once you know what it is, it's clear that it's being set up. That artist just likes borderline lolicon way too much.

The second season of KP is very squeaky clean and sends the girls out to collect what they think are Allspark fragments, and they are very annoyed because Ravage, whom they call "black panther man" keeps getting in their way and fucking with them, only to later find out that the bots who gave them this task are Unicronian heralds and Ravage is trying to stop them from helping Unicron do what Unicron does.

Rosanna, everyone's favourite robot pop idol, comes from the second season of KP, although you don't see very much of her or her companions Glit and Sundor.

Incidentally KP sets up the Unicron Trilogy and some of its characters end up in the UT--which did come to the US, and gave us Alexis Thi Dang.

G1 are the craziest group of young(kinda) adults, IDW is the worst because literally everyone is traumatized from a past war or something, Earthspark gen just wants to be happy and normal, no one talks about Shattered Glass (other part of G1) because everyone is either dead or evil, Skybound (even worse than SG) they don’t talk about either, Bayverse and Animated are living in a whole other universe at this point, WFC/TFP are crazy college/uni kids that either do crack or steroids and live in the fucking desert, Rescue Bots are NORMAL thank god don’t involve your drama with them please, and then there’s TFOne, which is the catalyst.

ES OP and MG’s wedding was supposed to take place at the end of the year.

TFP kids are running from the fucking cops but they don’t wanna miss the wedding. RB is right next door, they’re cheering from the sidelines. TFA was gonna have a breakthrough with OP and Blackairachnia. IDW is trying for some peace and quiet. (Not getting any though.) G1 are kinda like those family members who are hella crazy but you tolerate them anyways, up to some devious stuff in the background. (Who knows, surprise pregnancy, someone died, crack? No one’s sure anymore.) Bayverse is a huge military family. (That has a huge scary OP that wants your face.)

and then TFOne comes around and all hell breaks loose.
