•|The Scavengers just suddenly got taken into Universe 2, while they were all minding their own business, and now they’re just kind of stuck there.|•

•|Besides being late entering one of the Universes, sometimes, someone will get some sort of illness. It seems to go away pretty quickly, but for Optimus and some others, it hasn’t- and it’s kind of been getting worse.|•

•|The Autobots do have a few human friends in both Universe 1 and 2, but none of them become guardians to any of the humans- mainly because the human buddies don’t get involved, and they’re all only occasionally seen- the only actual one that sticks around being Jan, Star Saber’s kid.|•

I'm not super familiar with the anime portion of the franchise, but I think I got the vibe from the Earth Wars game.

Why do you think SG is bad outta curiosity? Is it the nature of the morality flip or is it like. The actual comics themselves?

both sort of? also don't forget, there are short text stories as well.

here's the issue(s) as I have personally encountered it: Shattered Glass presents the scenario of "bad guys good now, good guys bad now" which maybe anywhere else would be fine, but in a series where the villains are indisputably fascist making an alternate universe in which the fascists are actually the good guys is very... questionable. to make a verse where Megatron is suddenly good and relatable is like saying "well he's normally fascist but this time its okay to like him!" if that makes sense

not to mention, as I've been told by a close friend, there are points where the SG portrayals of some Autobots is.. bad.. particularly, Star Saber is apparently based on a real life nazi in SG. and if you've kept up with Derrick J Wyatt's SG content on twitter from a few months ago, you've probably seen how he takes characters like Ratchet and has recolored them to look like the canonical source of their trauma (ex. Lockdown in Ratchet's case) for SG. that doesn't sit well with me at all.

Following the recent reveals of many new items at their booth at Animation-Comic-Game Hong Kong 2018, Flame Toys has released official images of their upcoming model kits and high-end collector figures.

In the Furai Model series, we have images of IDW Optimus Prime, IDW MTMTE Megatron, Bumblebee with his Action Master Heli-pack, Starscream, a Nemesis Prime re-deco of Akira Amemiya’s (TRIGGER) Optimus, and Akira Amemiya’s take on Devastator. These non-coverting kits are fully poseable once assembled.

Next up is the Kuro Kara Kuri series of high-end collectable figures. The biggest surprise reveal at the show was the unexpected Victory Leo designed to combine with their upcoming MTMTE Star Saber into Victory Saber! Victory Leo does not appear in the IDW comics and is a brand new design meant to complement Alex Milne’s Star Saber design. Due to Flame Toys license with Hasbro only allowing them to produce non-converting figures, Victory Leo seemingly does not possess a robot mode, only separating into pieces to convert from lion to armor for Star Saber.

The other surprise reveal from this line was the appearance of Shattered Glass Drift! Styled after FunPub’s Transformers Collector’s Club release, the Deadpool-inspired SG Drift comes in a fetching metallic crimson color scheme and includes a pair of new pistols inspired by the Blurr pistols included with the original figure.

Also revealed is gray-scale prototype of an IDW-inspired Optimus Prime and an image confirming an upcoming release of IDW’s stealth Megatron design.

Also shown at ACGHK, the Deformer Model Kits are small kits featuring Optimus Prime, Megatron, Bumblebee, Starscream, and Soundwave in super-deformed style.

At this point, the people who are buying $80 transformers are the same people who'd know who this is. And he's less obscure than the rumored SG Jetfire repaint.

And with the japanese and chinese markets, Star Saber isn't really a much bigger gamble than pretty damned obscure Skylynxe, oversized Jetfire, and oversized and over-priced Hotrod (that they're pretending is Rodimus)

C3 AFA SG 2017 - A summary

This was my first time going to Anime Festival Asia in Singapore! The highlight of this event was definitely at CYBIRD’s booth, which was also my main reason for attending this year. I arrived early at the event venue on Day 1 and managed to get all the mercs I wanted at their booth ;w; The staff were very friendly and helpful in managing the activities and queues! (I’m embarrassed for being so awkward, tongue-tied and soft-spoken tho;; (⁄つ⁄﹏⁄≦⁄) alsolowkeysuperhappytheylikedmygiftsthowwww) I’m glad I got Hiroto-san’s autograph on the second day since there was a long queue for it yesterday. A kabedon would be too much for me so I got a photo with him instead haha :’D

The other exhibitions were also really cool! I was moved looking at the Violet Evergarden keyframes, character and background concept art. Gaaaahhh, the drawings were all so gorgeous and beautiful ;u; 京アニすばらしいです！They even had a lovely theme music playing at their exhibition! I can’t wait to watch Violet Evergarden next January ♡ The Black Butler exhibition had some interesting travel-themed paraphernalia on display too! They also had Ciel and Sebastian standees in the Phoenix pose XD It was fun watching people pose beside them XD

I mostly moseyed along, visiting most of the exhibitions and perusing the variety of mercs available too. I got quite a few other goods from various stalls and the Creators Hub XD Speaking of which, the Creators Hub was amazing! I wandered into the area on Day 1 and it was like an entirely other area (which it was) with how much more crowded it was. I really should examine the event schedule and map closer next time haha.

Outside of the exhibition hall, one floor below, there were tons of cosplayers as well! I saw quite a few Sabers, Spidermen, Deadpool, Shinoa Hiragi, Tatsumaki, Mikazuki Munechika, Allen Walker, Sakata Gintoki, and many other fantastic cosplays ♡ There was even a Love Live(?) idol performance at the first floor while I left the venue on the third day :D

All in all, it was an enjoyable experience at AFA! I hope CYBIRD will exhibit at Singapore again next year ♡

This gorgeous work of art was presented to me during Saber Guild practice last night. Cyan blade color, custom etching, weathered metal, and black leather wrap.

As with most things, there is a story (literally) behind this and how it came to be.

About two months ago, my local SG held a Star Wars story writing contest to encourage attendees to explore and delve deeper into their original characters. The performance dialogue and saber choreography is heavily dependent on the character each member brings to the table and a solid, well-rounded OC makes for a more immersive show experience. Despite having only 3 practice sessions under my belt and having not written anything for years, I decided to give the contest a shot. 

To my surprise and delight, I won and one of the prizes was “a saber custom-made to the winner’s specifications.”

Asides from asking what leather color I wanted, my good friend J (the saber-building guru) had complete artistic freedom and made the rest of this magic happen…all while torturing me by sharing absolutely zero details lol The secret was so well-kept and I had NO idea what hit me last night when my SG family starting singing the Throne Room theme from ANH (yes we are nerds) and followed up with a resounding chorus of “Happy Birthday”. 

I have not been able to stop looking at this since I got it. The etched details are stunning- my friend went above and beyond with the customization by literally incorporating my story into its design. Those with keen eyes might have noticed the Aurebesh characters carved near the emitter above the choke point. They read “Be brave, do good.” which is a line taken directly from my story.

I had not intended to publish/post that story here since OC stuff typically doesn’t garner much interest, but I might make an exception in this case. Keep your eyes open for that later (:
