I met @mightydave___ 2 years ago @goldsgym in San Jose for a posing clinic before my first show. We've kept in touch, shown support and motivate each other through social media. I’ve definitely improved my overall physique with each competition I’ve done, but most importantly, I feel that I’ve grown immensely. Each competition prep forced me to dig deep and persevere through tough times. In turn, I’ve learned a lot about myself in the process. I recently had a bout of stomach trouble. The feeling was so uncomfortable, that all I wanted to do was curl up in a ball- but I knew that I had to continue with my competition prep. So I looked myself in the mirror & decided to FOCUS! Stay strong! I ran to the pharmacist & got what I needed to get through the discomfort. I went grocery shopping, I meal prepped, I did my laundry & worked on client programs. That work week, I had the most consecutive client sessions ever booked in my career. My workouts suffered a bit, but I lightened the weight, slowed down & focused on each rep. By the end of the week, my energy started to increase & my training improved- I was feeling great! My prep coach @charity_clint_vandyke had some wise words for me... “That’s the difference between first place & everyone else.” I feel as though I’ve already won the most important competition of all; the one with myself!
