i was inspired by @egophiliac 's ghost trick cat plush so decided to try my hand at making my own!

he turned out a lil wonky but thats what i get for modifying a pattern im not already familiar with (BeeZees same as egophiliac) and using a cut up sweater for material

overall im still really happy with how he turned out! i consumed ghost trick like a week ago and have been obsessed ever since i recommend it to everyone

I took a break in my knitting to learn to hand quilt! Then, I made a little booklet for my sewing needles. I plan to make a potholder too, but I'll probably do some more knitting first.

there is no real meaningful distinction between Art and Craft, however i personally can only do the type of Art that is also extremely Craft. i need to make physical things with my hands and use tools and manipulate little objects and hoard all the specialized knives. otherwise i will start biting.

I wonder how did Astarion learn how to sew, who teached him?

I doubt he bothered to learn such thing when alive, doesn't strike me as someone used to do any house work in general, likely had others do it for him when alive (as a magistrate, city boy with some noble stats, you know?)

So he had to learn out of need to preserve his clothes, and keep himself presentable, after being enslaved by Cazador. But who teached him? If he were to self-learn, there was bound to be some poor work at first but the clothes are kept very well and the embroidery skill is quite high, he ain't some genius either, so I think its less likely he became so good straight up with no help. So... Did he ask someone in Cazador's palace? Was there anyone there even kind enough to show him? Did he ask one of his victims? Was it one from the beginning that he cared for? Must have been pretty early as clothes wear down easily. Was it the one that lead to his year of punishment?

Going to hurt my feelings here but what if the one Astarion didn't want to bring to Cazador was the one that offered to help him. Maybe they didn't even knew how much it meant for Astarion... something like noticing a loose strand or some rip in the fabric while they were together and offering to patch it up simply because they knew how to and liked Astarion, or it was an accident and felt responsible... and they end up showing Astarion how to sew. I can see a grateful Astarion wanting to make an exception for someone that helped him, that was nice to him and teached him something he needed so much, not knowing how much it will cost him.

Anyway, if you guys have other ideas, I'd love to read them

gosh okay if it's okay can i leave some extremely persistent brainyakus for babyyakus.... like obv you can just leave this or post or just share w whoever you want i'm just some dudegirl clanging pots and pans in your boxes but! i have always loved the idea of like...... baby yakumo being taught some form of sign language (Klein Sign if u will allow the goofery) bc the mouth shapes and tongue movements of the spoken language are hard for him to grasp even with full immersion and support!!!! i also think he would have some anxiety actually using his voice bc Y'know. It's Yakumo. he does eventually become more comfortable with verbal speech ofc but oh my god i am losing my mind at (baby yakumo voice) pep-per......... once again thank you mxr requiodile for my god life. and truly what are pigs but big potatoes....... ONION OWWIES..........

my last spam i will leave u with is also! ever since i unlocked homecoming ssr yakumo and it's dropped that he made his own ceremonial clothing i became OBSESSED w the idea of grandma taking babkumo to The Crafting Circle of the village. maybe he needed a bit more immersion into human spaces before he started school so he's just cowering in grandmas lap while she's knitting and mending but slowly he starts just like wandering around, looking at all the things happening with all the crafters just letting this uncanny child gaze in wonder over all the comfort items and soft blankets and warm clothes being made. and then there's at least one giant ass loom and those things are HUGE and make a lot of clacking noises. babkumo inching closer to it but doing these big scared jumps every time it makes noise but he's just so O.O like this giant scary thing makes such nice things!!! he's been wrapped in scarves fresh off this thing!!! and then whoever is working the loom pushing the shuttle through and just patiently waiting for yakumo to very tentatively push it back toward them. tbh i don't even really think that's great weaving technique but idc we are socializing this yokai via fibers and stich-n-bitch. thank you again for the generosity and enthusiasm ;w;

Being able to sew your own clothes may not be the most accessible things (especially sustainably) but I will forever be an advocate for being able to MEND your own clothes

Even if it’s a kinda ugly whip stitch on the inside of your shirt or a ladder stitch to adjust the size of some jeans or a mismatching patch on the sole of your socks— literally anything that’ll make your clothes last longer, even if it just means they’ll last long enough for you to give it away to someone else

And then when it can no longer be mended, use it to mend other clothes

my class is doing secret santa and i am already so stressed about it i do not like christmas i do not like compulsive gift giving i do not like receiving presents and then having to react i do not like doing those things in a group even if i more or less like the people i can barely open up the presents of a very dear friend, who knows me and my anxieties super well and is an excellent gift giver, when she's present i even get anxious about opening up the birthday gifts from my parents

but i also don't want to exclude myself but this is a nightmare for me

y'know, not saying anything but you know what id love to see more of? sorta washed up kaveh fic stuff. like he is burnt out and tired and cant compell himself to work in different mediums he used to do good in cause it just dosent work for him anymore. or just being dad cause he defines himself on art and others define him on art so when he dose other things its weird or smth idk
