This was amazing. I'm not ashamed to say I cried. I enjoyed so much the exploration of Harry's neglect and the family relationship being built amongst those three. I stan them forever and I will read the sequel for sure.

Do you like severitus?

I totally understand the appeal of it and the multiple fix-it scenarios for both Snape and Harry. Severitus makes for great character analysis and development. Also some fanarts are absolutely adorable.

This being said I'm not, in my real life, remotely interested in parenthood or being around kids so I rarely feel like engaging with Severitus content. It's just not a topic that tickles my brain with Snape (I did read a Snirius fic including some Severitus recently tho so I guess if this is a side thing to a main story I'm okay with it).

I relate to his struggles as an overworked spiteful adult in his 30s. I relate to him being single, having lost the people he loved and pushing himself too hard. I like seeing him being put in many different romantic/antagonistic/sexual scenarios and being a snarky ass bitch.

But from a character analysis standpoint, I think that him having to raise Harry is very interesting and if ya'll have recommendations, why not, I may be tempted one day?

Do you think Draco “redeemed himself” in the canon books successfully?

No. Part of why he is so insufferable to me is that he doesn't really get an arc. He's an annoying little twerp who exists to fluster the golden trio, fails to be an enemy, catches Dead Godfather Strays in book 6, gets cut to ribbons after crying in the bathroom and Harry does not give even half a fuck about it (lol), vanishes from the plot until he decides to not foil Harry in a meaningfully malicious way, and proceeds through the rest as a background character who experiences no strife or comeuppance or really any expression of conflict at all. Life sucks and then he got out of it. Even his parents got out of it. He doesn't have any relationship with his godfather, it turns out he doesn't have a relationship with literally any of his Slytherin cronies, he is Regulus-esque in the worthlessness of his existence. People calling Drarry enemies-to-lovers read a very different book because Draco was crawling on the floor licking the lino for crumbs of a rivals-to-lovers and still failing. I repeat, Harry's godfather had to die for him to get any attention, and it's pure displaced rage so Harry is not in the mood to entertain Draco's crushing despair. It's almost comedic how little narrative structure is put into his presence. Apparently the leading theory is because Joanne was pissed girls liked him, and I must say: lmfao.

Draco's most redeeming roles are:

Bouncing another death eater kid who is going through the same shit but is actually experiencing pathos (Draco & Theo)

Rivals with a character who has the energy for him (Draco and Ron, maybe Draco and Zabini who manages to be successfully untouchable through the whole story, which is iconic of him)

Comedic relief (mersnake AU where he is inviting himself into Romione's marriage)

That's right. Your resident "this could have been a platonic character study" aromantic is reporting in, he's not even good for humanizing Snape. HIS GODFATHER! Yessiree folks a prime red flag that a Severitus fic is going to be OOC is the mere presence of Draco Malfoy. We are truly scraping the bottom of the barrel here, some never-before-seen mediocrity!

Well. In short I don't like him, so I am unwilling to be flexible on what could improve his character. A huge improvement to Draco Malfoy would be killing him off at the end of Book 6 to snap Harry out of displacing his feelings onto others and give Snape a good satisfying death spiral to keep him busy.

So there is this manga called "The sorcerer on the hill"

As you guessed from the first picture. Sorcerer and a medium length black haired brooding looking wizard!? Snape! Yeah, that's what I thought too. Lol.

Summary: The town of Gelle is home to many wizards. Lee, a socerer, and Rabel, his apprentice, live on the outskirts, on top of a hill. They may not have much money, and Lee may be a little odd and unsociable, but Rabel is content with spending his days learning magic and going to school. Lee watches over Rabel, sometimes strict and sometimes soft, but...

And it's a bit of a strange story. Read it last year but from what I got. The adult male kissing Lee's hair died and reincarnated as the boy. The boy is poor af as he announces that he is used to being poor and is raised under the guiding hand of the wizard. It's gay and romance. But I didn't finish the story since it is unfinished and mangas update rather slowly, it takes years. So I don't know if the kid will eventually grow up and love the male lead, which is to me disturbing or if the romance is mentioned as his past relationship with the adult man he fell for, and no romance comes.

Anyway, you of course don't have to read it if you find it disturbing. I read it just because I saw that it looked a lot like harry and snape, even acts like them. Didn't see romance at all. So I assume the romance was the mention of his past and such. But, I thought. I have been gatekeeping a lot like the 2 doujinshies.

I shouldn't gatekeep this too I guess. 😂. They are not harry Potter characters for the record. With my brainrot I just saw them like that. To me it passes well as severitus.

1st pic: please, that is so harry and Snape. I mean, Snape knows he is poor but harry didn't have to remind him constantly like that.

2nd pic: reminds me of Lucius. Especially when they talk in a different language the child can't understand and Lucius being surprised Snape didn't kill people at all. Because Snape is busy teaching stuff.

3rd pic: Reminds me of James. Especially because he either left his child with Snape or became a child. He's also a king. Well James is who I recognize as someone who was treated like a king of Gryffindor. He would kiss Snape's hair. While he doesn't look like James, his situation and title reminds me of James .. jeverus.

4th pic: hanging so exhausted over a lot, in a barely lit chamber? Tell me, isn't this Snape or am I going too far! 😭

Obsession? I'm definitely obsessed with my newest fic idea, and I can't wait for it to see the light. Although I have decided a while back that I'm not going to start publishing another WIP until one of the ones in AO3 is finished. But... I can still be obsessed, right??

Voldemort caressed his wand, eyeing every person in front of him. There were many blood traitors, many who had fought against him, even had been members of the Order of the Phoenix. A glance at his side revealed Dumbledore's body. The wounds on his chest had stopped bleeding a while ago, as his heart didn't pump it forward, and Voldemort was almost sad for killing him. It would have been fun to toy with the old man for a moment longer, but he was safest with him out of the picture. "This is the victor for the wizarding world, for the Statue, for the Dark!" he announced, his smile widening when the Death Eaters celebrated with cheers. "We are on the first step of our new world. It is a world where there is no prejudice, where you are not worse for the magical core you have. It is a world where every magical child is celebrated. It is —" "How can you say that when you went and killed a toddler?" someone shouted from the crowd. Voldemort stared impatiently, waiting for his men to drag the owner of the voice to his feet. "Well, well, well, who do we have here?" Voldemort asked, quirking his eyebrow. Keeping his eyes on the man, he stepped down and walked around him with measured steps. The man was pale, his freckles standing out worse than usual. "Are you really in the position of risking your life? Over a lie he told you?" he asked, pointing at Dumbledore's body. "I heard you had a daughter, just a few months ago. Five children under five years old…" "You can't," Arthur Weasley whimpered, his eyes shining like he was going to start crying. "Oh? You will see that I can. You decided it all by yourself at the moment you asked the question and accused me of the child's disappearance." Voldemort crouched down, whispering his next words next to Weasley's ear. "My first act is to found the Child Protection Department. They will see your wife is not fit to take care of your children alone."

Severitus? YES. Harrymort? YES. Voldemort winning the first war? YES. Mentor Voldemort? YES.

Also:

Harry returned home late after the New Year's Ball, only fifteen years old. Severus questioned him and realised Voldemort had had Harry on his bed. With the height of his fury, he ran to Voldemort: "You sick bastard, Harry is only fifteen, still a child, and you dared to lay your hands on him!" Voldemort had just gotten something he wanted, so he could just smile smugly, waiting for Severus to stop. When he finally finished, out of breath, Voldemort opened his mouth: "He came to me just by himself. I did not invite him, I did not command him, I did not force him. In fact, he begged it." And Severus ran away because he couldn't think of it at all. He couldn't understand how Harry, the boy whom he had raised since he was seven and came to him, starved and way too small for his age, was so old.

(This was one of my inspiring thoughts for this fic. It was supposed to be a oneshot. All up until I got this image into my mind and realised I want to write the whole story.)

This will be so fucking good that I can't wait for you to get deeper to this fic.

This is not supposed to be the central theme of the story, but people have gotten annoyed that I didn't tell them at the beginning.

I’m the weird person who will literally read ANYTHING at 10pm. Harry is a girl and Severus is her guardian. The problem with this fic starts with the mischaracterization of Severus. Its the classic “daddy dom” fanon version of him that has no emotions and sees Lily as nothing more than an object😭 this is obviously done to make the ship between Harry and Severus more appealing, but it just gives me the ick because Severus would N E V E R. AND ITS NOT LIKE THEY MISCHARACTERIZE EVERYONE, DRACO IS VERY CANON..Harry is lowkey BAMF and i love her, but her crush on Severus is not very realistic unless shes fucking batcrazy. Like- SILAS IS RIGHT THERE???? A HEALTHY DECENT GUY THAT IS AMBITIOUS AND SHARES A BUNCH OF TRAITS WITH YOU?????????? Raw, next question. But nooo shes too loyal to Severus, her step father and the person she wants to have inside her 😇😇😊😊😊!!!!! So she gets mad whenever he flirts with her??? Hun you literally blushed.

Yes, I have daddy issues

Not just because my father was a scoundrel who cheated on my mother, divorced her when I was 4, tried to make my sister and I hate her, and did horrible things like burning photos of her in front of us, neglecting my younger sister and saying that he would only give me basic items, like sandals, in case my mother reported him.

But also due to the fact that the other male figure in my life was my grandfather, a disgusting old man who had always sexually harassed me, who traumatized me so much that I hated my own body, took showers wearing underwear and always watched the door, I developed an addiction severe porn addiction that I'm only now able to deal with, and has basically made it impossible for me to have any real trust in men and be able to start a relationship, while also making me completely dependent on their validation. I already wanted to kill myself for this.

And of course my family always knew everything, they themselves witnessed many of the things my grandfather did, but they never cared. Especially now that he's dead, he's seen as some sort of angel. My mother even told me that I was killing him, and that I should be ashamed of treating him badly, because he never did anything wrong.

That's why I unconditionally love Snape, that's why I unconditionally love Severitus.

Please Snape, be my father. Fill this void in my soul.

I rewatched all the Harry Potter movies and now it’s like I’m 10 and obsessed again

This is Rosemary Potter, Harry’s twin sister. She’s sort of like a polar opposite to Harry, looking an awful lot like their mother while having their father’s eyes. She’s often referred as Mary Potter but she prefers the name Rose or her full name. She an aspiring animagus magic user and is one of a few witches or wizards that have multiple animagus forms. Thus her overuse of animagus magic has often left her with some animal like characteristics such as sharp teeth and pointed ears

She of course has a matching scar with Harry seeing as he who must not be named had been after the both of them seeing as the prophecy for them stated that two powerful wizards would be born at the end of July and he hunted their family down with the intent to kill them both, but as you know that failed. With their parents dead, they were picked up and shipped off to their aunt and uncle’s house where they were both treated poorly until they both turned 11 and attended their first year of Hogwarts

As for relationships and such, in my canon, Harry and Rose will both develop a familial bond with Professor Snape (Yes Snape is a father figure to me and I love the Severitus trope deal with it) As well as Remus and Sirius And later on down the line, Rose will develop feelings for someone yet to be determined

(Now on a serious note, all this aside, I want to make it very clear that I do not in any sort of way fashion or manner support JK Rowling and her atrocious behavior towards trans people, people of color, Jewish people and all the likes. I am separating the art from the artist and making the canon of my own. All this to say I am not diminishing the horrible things she’s said or done. And I will stand by that fact until the day I die)

Drarry? Severitus? Random tropes and canon?

Severitus- The Dursley are scared that harry might lose it again after what he did with Marge and no amount of convincing from Dumbledore is going to change their minds. So he gets Snape to take him in. He may or may not had no choice.

Drarry- Draco will get a redemption arc because he is still a git. The romance part wont be until the end of 4th year or 5th year. They will be friends first.

WolfStarPrince- I like this ship. Planning on making it a gradual thing because I refuse to Obliviate the hatred. Sirius lets Snape live in the Grimmauld Place because he's taking care of Harry. Remus is helping Sirius get better and is the referee. (Ideas are welcome)

Werewolf! Harry- Harry gets bit by Remus during the full moon, he's in denial. I always thought it was weird no one got hurt when Remus forgot his potion so I changed it so now Remus will never think to forget his potion not just because harry as to take some too but because he is consumed with guilt about what he did to him.

Veela! Draco- You can not tell me the Malfoys didn't have Veela in them. Abraxas Malfoy is half in my fic but married a full Veela. Most Malfoy are half or less, They don't like people to know because even though Veelas are valued and such they are still creatures and that ruins their Pure Blood image.

Werewolf! Draco- Voldys fault. Lucius was suspected a traitor (he wasn't but is now because really) so Voldemort got Greyback to bite Draco where the dark mark was going to be. This happens before 5th year starts and only happens because Lucius didn't realize Voldemort was lying. (Said he just wanted to see who his new followers would be) Now the Malfoys can hold onto their views because Lucius is a lot of thing but he isn't going to get rid of his son(I think)

Voldemort finds out Harry is a Horcrux- I want to make him go more insane. He still hates and want to kill Harry but now he's trying to find a way to do that without hurting his soul. Since no one has ever made a human Horcrux because he can't look for information on subject but he can test on himself. Cue nightmares and visions. And some very messed up Voldemort giving up and just trying to kill Harry soul and all.

Harry has trauma- I wanted harry to realize what the Dursley did was bad (Not fanon things like beatings and SA but the starvation and locking up, the isolation) that he's safe now even if he can't fully trust the adult around him. He steals food and hoards it, He'll hide in corners and small spaces but panic in other. Mostly I'm writing how I reacted when I left a my relatives place because I was treated very similar to how Harry was.

Now important things I will not add so when I post the fic you know its not there-

Bashing- I don't like some the stuff Dumbledore did but if I'm going to hate him its for stuff he did and the Weasley are family and I love them.

Lordships- I think its kind of pointless.

Odd wizard language not in the books- I cringe when I read them I will not write it. Ex. So mote it be, On my magic, etc, etc.

Soft! Snape- God help those who think Snape is a kind gentle soul, He will be a strict parental figure who shows care in a questionable fashion, not a Molly Weasley 2.0

1. I never really saw Snapey boy as a bad character? I mean, he’s a dick, but I remember pitying him and wishing things had gone differently for him. I wanted Snape and Harry to have a talk after the Battle of Hogwarts SO BAD. And then I went down the Snily hole and the unrequited love made me so emo so I buried myself in all the Severitus fics I could. So that’s when I really started loving him as a character. All the missed potential. 😭

I don’t think he deserves the amount of hate he gets. Yes, he made poor life choices and continued to make poor life choices (bullying children, being a dick to Harry) but he did the right thing in the end and sacrificed himself for the war. He was really bad at being a good guy but it’s wrong for people to deny that he was a hero. I mean, Regulus was just as bad but he was a hero too? But he gets all of the accolades that should’ve gone to Snape. Idk man.

2. It depends! I always recommend to start piano if anything, just to get started on the note reading and hand dexterity. There’s really no difference between violin, viola and cello, they’re all very accessible to a beginner. Bass would be the only one I’d pause at because it’s so big and the handful position and bow hold can be very difficult/heavy. But if I’d have to narrow it down, cello and violin are equitable! I can’t really attest to band instruments as much but the hardest part is the embouchure on the mouthpieces/buzzing. If you can get a sound, you’re good. And percussion you just need good rhythm.

3. Bahahaha I don’t know about him yet! No one is safe except for Ariel and Snape (and Ariel is like, a weird middle ground bc she DOES die but we all know it’s meant to happen). You will have PLENTY of Sirius driving Snape nuts and vice versa, Snape will only want to be a dad once he realizes Sirius intends to usurp him. 😂😂😂

Hi, this one's been in my brain for years, and my memory of it is slowly degrading, so apologies pre-emptively for vagueries?

It's a harry potter fic, (possibly drarry because that's majority of what i used to read in this era of reading, but not sure), but while i know it followed him through the year, (going to classes etc) as the main focus of the story, my main memory is of the connection harry had with voldemort.

It definitely wasnt the main focus of the fic, but there was some sort of mental link between them so they could communicate, and voldemort would drop in to watch Harry's day to day life and chip in every now and then with snarky unhinged comments. Eventually, Harry learns to block him out, but not before becoming sort-of-frenemies? Like, "I'll still kill you, but I won't enjoy it because you make me laugh sometimes," vibes.

I remember it ending in a big battle at azkaban, after the island getting surrounded there by voldemort forces (dementors and maybe the ministry?) and Harry still had to kill voldemort, but while everyone's celebrating he feels so upset and sad because while voldemort was still really evil, he had been in his head and a companion for like a year.

Unconfirmed: Sirius lives? Drarry? Severitus? Ministry politics? Dementors? Potions class/detention with sev?
