For the Snape Ask Game:
Can I ask your opinion on: 26, 35, 46, and 50?
26. What genre did Snape prefer to read?
He strikes me as a non-fiction type of guy. When he reads it's scientific or history books, that kinda stuff. No harlequins or fantasy novels for him.
35. Snape's BROTP?
I'm gonna go for Minerva. I feel they had a fun, competitive sorta friendship situation going on. And I feel he might have had a friendly relationship with Charity too.
I only now realize his most probable honest frienships are all with women.
46. Which of the Marauders Snape is most likely to have gotten along with?
The only reasonable answer for me is Lupin.
I feel like, if these two had somehow bonded and Snape found out about his lycantropy, he would've tried to help him, just like the Marauders did. Except the Marauders idea of help was turning into animals and taking him on raids, Sev woul've probably tried to brew him Wolfsbane (or if the potion didn't exist yet at the time 'cause I' m not sure, he woul've tried to invent it).
50. Had Snape lived, would he go back to teaching?
No, not unless he was forced to by some unforeseen circumstances.

SNAPETOBER 2021
DAY 11: “Old Friends”
DAY 12: “Alone”
Severus never really knew what it was like to call someone an old friend. That is, until after he became the headmaster of Hogwarts.
Never did he think he’d be friends with someone who should have really been a rival. Never did he think he’d associate with someone who, in all respects, was the total opposite.
Never did he think he’d miss such friendship after it was cruelly ripped from him.
Every Friday evening, he would sit with Minerva McGonagall in her office for tea, gossiping about their students’ latest antics, discussing lesson plans, and betting on who would win the House Cup for the year. But this year was entirely different. He was now vilified not only by her, but by Pomona, by Filius, and by everyone who had sided with Dumbledore.
This year, instead of bantering with Minerva, he was using all his energy and willpower to keep his Occlumency shields up. He was constantly devising plans on how he would possibly relate the horrific truth to Potter. He was always going back and forth between Dumbledore’s portrait and Voldemort himself, playing the part he had been playing for almost seventeen years.
There was one night, so close to Christmas, when Severus finally reached his breaking point. Not able to take more horror, he ended up slumped in the headmaster’s chair, head buried in his hands, sobbing. What Dumbledore was putting him through was no less than abuse! He didn’t want to experience any more of this. He wanted to be able to freely banter with Minerva, chat with his colleagues, and act as if none of this had happened, as if it hadn’t been he who had yelled, “Avada Kedavra!” and sent Dumbledore falling to his death.
But it was no use. He was still stuck in this world, counting the amount of days he had left, knowing that Voldemort would eventually find out about him and kill him mercilessly as he had done others. Severus would die, knowing his role, knowing that no one would bury him. No one, not even Dumbledore, cared. He was all alone, desolate, pushing through a great blizzard in the black night.
And if someone did, in fact, hear his cries, his pleas for help, he wouldn’t know, for his grief was the only thing he knew as of that moment. It was the only thing he understood.
...
Unbeknownst to the angst-ridden headmaster, Minerva was standing on the other side the door, tears running tracks down her cheeks, desperately yearning to learn the reason why her old friend was like this, suffering from a mysterious, inexplicable evil. Of course, she loathed what he had done, loathed that he could have even uttered those two horrid words. But then why would he be moaning in this way, like a dying animal? Shouldn’t Severus have been enjoying his newfound power, seeing as he had been willing to kill for it? But perhaps she only knew half the story. Perhaps this was all a hallucination, and that the next morning, she’d wake up and banter with Severus at breakfast, thanking Merlin that this had only been a dream.
Finding the courage to do so, she rapped lightly at the door, praying that Severus would hear and let her in. As she had hoped, the sounds came to an abrupt halt. The screeches of chair legs dragging against the floor resounded, and light, nimble footsteps approached her.
Minerva quickly backed away, pulling out a handkerchief to dab at her tears, and the door swung open, revealing a man she no longer recognized. His shoulders, once broad and postured, were now hunched over, a self-protective shield. His lips, once the sculptor of sarcastic and witty remarks, were now drawn into a thin line. And worst of all, his eyes, once bright, determined, and excitable, were now sunken in, devoid of anything remotely hopeful.
In short, Severus was merely a shadow of what he had used to be.
“M-Minerva…” he started.
“Don’t call me that,” Minerva snapped, immediately regretting the words that had flown through her teeth. “What I mean is—”
“No,” Severus cut through, his voice hard. “I understand. Please come in, Professor.”
Severus led her to his desk, waving his wand to shut the door and lock it. As she took her seat, she noted the various changes that had been made since Dumbledore had died.
Most notably, Fawkes wasn’t there. All Dumbledore’s quirky gadgets and trinkets were no longer there, replaced with skulls and other Dark artifacts. The room was darker, so dark that it felt somewhat like a black hole. How could Severus wake up to this blackness every morning?
“What is it that you wish to speak to me about?” Severus asked, much too formal for her liking. But of course, she had forced that upon him when she told him not to call her by her given name.
At first, Minerva had no idea what to say to her former colleague. Why had she knocked on the door? She knew he’d be mortified if he knew she’d heard his sobs.
“I…”
Minerva fell silent. What could she say?
“Yes? I don’t have all night, you know. Everyone has to get their sleep at some point.”
On instinct, Minerva wanted to tell him to shut his mouth. She wanted to reprimand him for ordering her as he did just now. But she stopped herself. Perhaps this was his way of telling her, “There’s nothing for you to see.”
But she was a Gryffindor. And as a Gryffindor, she wouldn’t necessarily do as she was told.
“Why were you crying?” she asked bluntly, getting right to the point. She hoped that the bluntness would shock him into giving her a genuine answer.
“What?”
“You heard me—why were you crying?”
Severus’s eyebrows creased into a frown.
“I should think that is none of your business.”
Minerva leaned closer.
“On the contrary, I think that it most certainly is my business.”
She sent him a death stare to convey her point.
...
Severus didn’t know what to make of all this. Here Minerva McGonagall was, grilling him like a suspect wanted for murder, about his moment of vulnerability. Why was she even here? Wasn’t she supposed to be protecting the students? Wasn’t that her job, as well as his? He realized in that moment that they shared a role in this war, a role to protect the young and innocent. But he couldn’t possibly tell her. He couldn’t bring her into his hellfire. Doing that would end up being much, much worse than casting the spell of green light.
“You should go,” Severus found himself saying. His heart cringed at the words as his brain applauded. “You’ve no right to be here. Imagine what the Carrows would think if they found me conversing with the likes of you.”
At those last words, his heart ripped open. He wanted to scream as Minerva proceeded to glare at him, saying, “Very well, Headmaster. I don’t know why I even came in the first place.” And without bidding him goodnight, she turned and quite literally slammed the door as she went.

😂 Severus for the ask game!
Oh yes Severus my boi let’s gooooooooooooooo!
What I like/dislike about him
It is very difficult to put all the reason in one post I think. So let’s put it simple:
He’s intelligent
He’s powerful
He’s sarcastic
He made mistakes and he regrets about them, and spent his whole life try to make up
Also, I feel deeply related to him. He was a broken man, and I feel I’m somehow a broken person as well. When reading the book, I can totally understand the subtexts of his emotions and his values. Like I said in Luna’s post, he was like a hedgehog, he hurt people to protect himself. It’s sad, but that’s one of the thing I feel related the most.
OTP
It’s Snack and Snarry recently. I love almost every combination of relationships about him actually, but Snack and Snarry are just so🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻 I mean, in Snack, we can see the delicious enemies to lovers dynamic, two broken men loving each other, hate fuck(ohhh I love hate fuck), and the potential of switching is so high and it’s really, really hot. About Snarry, I suppose it’s more because I do prefer older men as boyfriends, and it’s so easy and enjoyable to put myself in Harry’s place and think about how Severus would show his love and devotion. The difference between Severus the dungeon bat Snape and Severus helplessly in love Snape is so good, and it always makes me go “awwwwww Sev” when reading about it. Also I’m a brat sub and Harry is also a brat sub so
BROTP
Sev and Minnie!!!!!! +Albus and boom! The professor golden trio! But honestly I really believe Sev and Minnie’s relationship is the combination of mother—son, close colleagues, teacher—student and two bitches (positive meaning). They’ll just hangout in one them’s office and have tea and talk shit (mostly about Albus) and gossip. And I do headcanon that sometimes you can find Minnie in cat form chilling in Severus’ office or something. And Sev accidentally call her mom and went absolutely silent and Minnie just go and gives him a big hug? Beautiful.
3OTP
I can’t decide between Snucissa and Snackwolf(I don’t think there’s anyone else using this ship name but I like it). For snucissa I’ve mentioned in Narcissa’s post. As for snackwolf, it’s again, the enemies to lovers dynamic. Lupin and Sirius would be very protective and caring, while Severus constantly being (sort of) mean and (very) sarcastic to hide his feelings because he doesn’t know how to show them (and he doesn’t feel save showing emotions). And there’s loads of angst about these three, loads.(I do love angst very much)
Favorite part in the films/books
I CAN’T DECIDE!!!!! So here’s a list of some of my most loved parts:
Films:
The first potions class in Philosopher’s Stone
The “bitch what?” face in Philosopher’s Stone
Tumblr media
The Dueling Club
DADA class in PoA
Fighting with Sirius in PoA
Climbing the ladder in his storage in GoF
Tumblr media
Touching Albus’s back after Harry returned from the graveyard in GoF
The entire scene of reveling fake Moody in GoF
Smacking Ron in both GoF and OoTP
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“No idea.”
Tumblr media
Newspaper: flipped!
Tumblr media
Healing Draco in HBP
Prince’s handwriting
“Nah, bitch”
Tumblr media
Leading the death eaters out Hogwarts in HBP
Tumblr media
“You dare use my own spell against me, Potter?”
Tumblr media
Dueling Minnie in DH
Tumblr media
The prince’s tale, smol Sev so cute
Book:
The first potions class
Cornering Quirrell in Philosopher’s Stone
DADA class in PoA
Occlumency classes & SWM (I have mix feelings about them, but that’s the reason that made me like him)
Making Bella believe him in HBP
First DADA class in HBP
Healing Draco in HBP
The Prince’s tale
I think that’s all, maybe, perhaps, probably, idk (it’s a lot I know)
Headcanon
I post a lot of headcanons but here’s one I think I’ve never posted before:
He used to stayed in Hogwarts for summer, in the first few years of teaching. Spinner’s End reminded him too much memories he wanted to forget. In those summers, he likes to take walks to the greenhouse and along the lakeside before sunset. He would also visit Minerva, who lived not far from the school.
There’s too much about Severus that I couldn’t fit in one single post. I REALLY love him🥺 I would consider him the most complicated character in the whole series, and the most human one. It took me some time to finally finish this post💚🐍

Reasons why Snacgonagall is my brotp and canon is mine now:
They were rivals but they clearly respected each other greatly.
Their teaching styles were compared to each other's, both had the talent to keep the class quiet without extra effort.
Going off of the previous point, it would make sense for Dumbledore to ask his deputy headmistress to show his new spy teacher the ropes.
"Albus he's a death eater! And practically a child! What the hell were you thinking?"
Adding onto another canon compliant-ish Minerva headcanon I have where she had a soft spot for the Marauders, the angst of them working together initially.
Going from enemies to frenemies to found family and Minerva eventually seeing Sev as her son (but don't let Sev know that or he'll be mad).
Wlw and mlm solidarity because Minnie is a lesbian icon and Sev is a disaster bi, you cannot convince me otherwise.
I headcanon both of them as smokers. Don't ask me why.
Minnie teaching Sev embroidery. Imagine it.

Severus Snape for the headcanons
Sexuality Headcanon:
Gaaayyy
Gender Headcanon:
Cis male, but he isn't pressed about presenting in a certain way only to meet someone elses ecpectations of what it means to be a man
A ship I have with said character:
Severus and Harry, preferably when they are both teachers at Hogwarts. (It's gotten to the point where I cannot see him with anyone else, really.)
A BROTP I have with said character:
Severus and Minerva being secretly really good friends under all of that house rivalry
A NOTP I have with said character:
Sev and any of the marauders + lily
A random headcanon:
Severus Snape speaks fluent French and likes to show off with it. Well at least to his dates.
General Opinion over said character:
Since this is only a general opinion I won't go into too much detail. He is my favourite and I am willing to forgive him a lot of his deeds escpecially since we really have no way of knowing if he'd been the way we saw him (through Harry's eyes) had it not been for Voldemort and all of the circumstances in his life that pushed him to that mad man. I think he is certainly bitter, but probably just starved for love (even if he would never admit it and fight against it at first because it is just such a foreign concept to him... as in being loved). So in short: interesting, bit mean, extremely brilliant and (not that) deep down very good

3 AM drunk thoughts? Do you think the other professors (Minnie McG and Ole Sluggie especially) ever felt guilty? After Harry reveals the truth about Sev, do you think they would have thought back about how, as a student, if they had looked after him more, stopped the bullying and gave him a positive role model that they could have "saved him"? I wonder if they thought about it while he worked with them? Did Minerva ever address him? I headcanon them BROTP so probably. (Cont.)
And I wonder if Sev ever felt guilty? Did he see any of his old students in the ranks? Did he wonder what had happened? I figure there had to be more like Draco,(prejudice and not in the right) but parent pleasing, fearful, or otherwise jaded about the nature of the gig? This is a new thing for me so I haven't put thought into it aside from this ask.
the thing is, i want to say because i really like mcgonagall. and i headcanon them as friends as well, so it’d be pleasant to think that they’ve talked about it or that mcgonagall apologized in any way. but it just... doesn’t seem realistic to me, mostly bc of snape.
bc we see the way snape reacts to any hint of his past with the marauders being brought up and his instinct is always, always to shut it down. to snarl or deflect. i don’t think he knows how to deal with his years at hogwarts in a level-headed, thoughtful way - and that’s not a critique, per se. sometimes the only way to deal with trauma is to curl around it like a wounded dragon and refuse to let anyone see the hurt. to protect it fiercely. i imagine that snape feels a little like that about his bullying - something that is his, something that is a wound he needs to protect, not heal. mcgonagall’s apology, well meaning as it might be, would only be poking at that open wound and i doubt snape would react well to that.
i do think snape feels guilty as well, especially over draco. but snape knows so intimately well what it’s like to make hugely bad decisions, especially when you feel pushed in a corner, and i think that seeing that happen to students he’s supposed to protect - especially slytherins, who i think he feels are more vulnerable and less protected like other students (gryffindors, for example) - would hurt. the problem for snape, of course, and what probably makes this doubly painful is that he can’t really help them to maintain his cover. he has to encourage them, to deflect them away from the path in the subtlest of ways. he can’t drag them kicking and screaming away from the death eaters like i think he wants to because it endangers him. and them, to be honest - he’d be putting them under dumbledore’s protection and securing them a place on voldemort’s hit list.
so yeah, i think he feels guilty, but i think it’s worse that he can’t act on that guilt, can only help in these sideways, sneaky ways that don’t do enough to keep kids he’s supposed to be keeping safe from the path he mistakenly went down when he was their age.

Headcanons: Snape Edition!
(don’t worry, this won’t be my only headcanon post on snep)
SEXUALITY HEADCANON:
I see him as either completely straight or completely gay depending on the fic, and he’s always demisexual.
GENDER HEADCANON:
To me, Severus is a cisgender male.
A SHIP I HAVE WITH SNAPE:
I have one gay OTP (Snupin) and one straight OTP (Snarcissa), but the gay one is more important to me.
A BROTP WITH SNAPE:
Severus Snape & Minerva McGonagall are the ultimate bros!
A NOTP WITH SNAPE:
I abhor Snumbledore, SnaGonagall, Snamione, and Snarry. I really only like Sev with males or females in his age/generation (people like Remus, Lucius, Narcissa, Lily, or Sirius). So if you’re here about to throw me some Sninny shit or something, please find someone else to cater to. And I mean that in a nice way.
A RANDOM HEADCANON:
Severus considered becoming an Auror due to his love of DADA (that outshined his love for Potions), and he would’ve become one had the circumstances been different.
GENERAL OPINION OF SNAPE:
He’s my favorite character and I love him to the moon and back.
