If you HAD to ship Seto Kaiba with someone who wasn't Kisara, who would it be?!

Ohohohohoh I love this question🤭 I actually have many ships involving Seto and one of them is Azureshipping, so Seto x Anzu, because I like how she's the only one who stands up to him and I think he would like that.

Also, she's always associated with Dark Magician Girl, who in her past human life was Mana, and Mana was Seto's Millennium Ring Priestess when he became pharaoh after Atem, so I think that's really cool🫶 (if you want to check this out, there's a panel in the last manga nukber where Seto is shown with his Priests and the one substituting Mahad is Mana!)

I also ship him with Ishizu, it'd be logical considering my theory about how the Ishtar family garded both the Necklace and the Rod (once owned by Priestess Ishizu and Priest Seth). After Kisara's death it could be that Pharaoh Seth married Priestess Ishizu and left the Necklace and the Rod as heritage.

Marik was your first love

His personality drew you in, the way he dressed drew you in, the way he carried himself, his looks, just...him.

It turned into a sort of "will they wont they?" if you two were going to be a thing. You both liked each other, it was obvious you did, but the actual initiation of a relationship hadn't happened

You were devastated when he turned out to be bad and began hurting your friends

You had decided to abandon anything you could have had with Marik, and focused on beating him to save your friends

Marik wanted so badly to reconcile with you after battle city, but he got scared and went back home without saying anything to you personally

Fast forward some odd years, and you're engaged to Kaiba

You had been dating for some years and your wedding date was around the corner

Marik was back in town since Yugi had told him about the engagement, and the upcoming engagement party. He planned on congratulating both you and Seto at said party

But when he saw you...oh my God, it was like all the feelings he had years prior came rushing back to him. You looked so beautiful doing literally anything, he couldn't keep his eyes off of you

Ishizu tried to talk sense into him, you're getting married to another man, but Marik just wouldn't listen. The heart wants what it wants

Eventually, he did get you alone...

"Anyone told you you look beautiful tonight?" Marik asked as you gathered your things in the empty room, he in the doorway.

You chuckled politely. "Yes, many have tonight. Thank you, Marik."

"What about ethereal? Stunning? Jaw-dropping?" Marik took a step towards you with every compliment, hands in his pockets.

"What're you doing?"

"Nothing." He spoke with a small smile. "Just...admiring."

You felt bad. You loved Seto more than anything, and yet here you were with Marik...but you weren't doing anything right? So this technically wasn't wrong. Marik took your silence as an invitation to get closer, however.

"I'm so sorry I didn't return sooner."

"It's- it's alright, Marik." You spoke nervously.

"Are you...sure you don't want to come back to Egypt with me? Forget about Domino city?" Marik finally took his hands out of his pockets and held your hands in his gently.

"Marik, I...I can't believe you'd ask me that. I'm getting married in a few months, I have all my friends and family here, my job, I-"

Marik broke your tangent by kissing you. On the lips. On the night of your engagement party to another man. Losing yourself for a moment, you kissed back. You could feel yourself yearning for him, yearning to leave with him. No. No, this was wrong.

You broke away and stepped around him. "Get out."

Marik's smile immediately fell. He was still for a moment, and only when you repeated your demand did he say something. Though it was barely above a whisper, and if you hadn't been paying attention, you don't think you would have heard it.

"You're really gonna marry him?"

You nodded. "Yes."

Marik bit his lip before nodding. "I have to go."

He shoved past you, and you felt your heart break for the second and final time from Marik.

Euroshipping: Kaiba sees Ryou as a soft, delicate thing, and Ryou gets to prove that he's a lot tougher than he looks and has survived a lot. So yes it's sweet, but Kaiba please stop treating him like he's made of glass. Ryou also babysits Mokuba a lot whenever Kaiba has to travel for work, and Ryou and Mokuba become pretty good friends.

Minorshipping: Dice bois, what can I say. They compare dice collections, and Ryou has some of those really nice custom resin dice made for his Monster World characters that Duke just adores because they're both in love with polyhedrons. Duke cooks for Ryou and Ryou paints Duke's nails, and they continue to break all the hearts just by being so pretty and so unavailable.

Puffshipping: Ryou doesn't mind being Joey's personal nurse, and this happens because Joe still gets in a lot of fights, especially defending Ryou from bullies while they're still in high school. And when Ryou plays too much into the nurse thing, Joe gets aaaaallllll blushy, and Ryou likes that he can completely embarrass him in private like that.

Heartshipping: Ryou secretly enjoys being the taller one in the relationship, but doesn't say anything about it. He introduces Yugi to new horror movies so that Yugi will cuddle into him while they watch them together. Yugi is only pretending to actually be scared because he just loves being comforted like that. At some point they realize what the other is doing, and have a good laugh, but Yugi keeps pretending to get scared during the movies and Ryou makes a big show of "let me hold you, I'll keep you safe."

Angelicshipping: Ryou and Rafael would have so much to bond over with their absent families, and they can comfort each other over that. He understands the kind of bitterness that Rafael feels, he just never let it overwhelm himself. And Ryou has a real soft spot for those big boys.

Sweetshipping: HEAR ME OUT OKAY. I know some people are weird about ships with Mokuba but there's a right way to do it. Kaiba Bros ageswap AU where Mokuba is the older brother (same age as Yugi and co) all protective of lil baby Seto, but it's still Seto that has the connection to Ancient Egypt. Mokuba's not nearly as much of an asshole as canon Seto though, so he expresses gratitude to Ryou for taking care of Seto after what happened in Pegasus's Castle, and they start to become friends because Mokuba realizes he needs to understand this magic stuff if he wants to protect Seto from it. And Ryou is there teaching him everything that he'd been able to learn about it so far, and they get pretty close. Then Battle City happens, and Mokuba just wants Ryou close to protect Seto, but his boyfriend is the vessel for one of those dangers, and things get real angsty during that time. Battle City Mokuba dedicates himself to banishing both Yami Bakura and Yami Marik once and for all, so he and Yugi are kinda on the same page for that time.

Ryou x Mahad: I forget if this ship has a name, and if it doesn't, it should. Whatever the circumstances of them meeting—whether it's Mahad's spirit leaving the afterlife in order to help the Pharaoh, or it's Ryou going to Memory World—Ryou wants to learn all much as he can from Mahad, who is like, "this is dangerous and complicated and—" yeah, Ryou fully understands that, and he still wants to know. He's been too involved with this magic for too long, he needs answers, and Mahad is able to give him a bit of closure and a much better understanding of his role in all of this.

Graceshipping: Ishizu needs a man that will treat her right, and Ryou will absolutely treat her with love and respect while accepting and understanding all the magic stuff. He also doesn't blame her at all for what happened with Marik, and he helps her to forgive herself for that stuff. They also have a shared passion for archeology, so he gets genuinely excited about her work with the museum, and that just makes her really happy, and they both really deserve to finally be happy.

Look at this absolutely adorable fluffy baby.

He’s so sweet with everyone that’s nice to him, it’s impossible to think he’d be into occult stuff.

But he’s so invested in it, that it makes him look even more innocent and adorable.

Okay, first of all, he has a much stable sense of confidence, in a way that unlike Seto who has a booming confidence, but it only acts as a defense mechanism, Ryou’s confidence is more stable and linear.

If he likes you, he’s more likely to be able to say it much easier and direct.

I mean, he would make an effort and ask you out in a very sweet way.

Most likely, he’d take you out on a broad game pub date where the two of you would play lots of card and board games, including some duel monsters and it would be lots of fun and nothing competitive.

Nice music, some nice beverages and super fun games.

After that, you’d go walk around the city and chat about lots of stuff, including some of the occult stuff he’s into.

Bakura Ryou Gets Activated

He won’t stop talking about all the stuff he’s into, all the little things he bought online, all the cute collections he has and other things that fit his aesthetic that he’s still looking for.

If he gifts you something occult or game related, that’s his way of telling you at the beginning that he cares deeply about you and if you start being genuinely interested in these, things, he’d be over the moon with glee.

He is also interested in travelling, history and culture, so he’d love it if you’d like to join him in his trips of knowledge, learn new things together and discover the world step by step.

Whenever you tell him new trivia and interesting facts about whatever subject you’re interested in, his heart skips a few beats because OMG you’re like him and you want to know more and more about so many different things!

Ryou would like to take 1820472104 pics with and of you and loves making albums of you two together, each album with a different theme, so every time he looks through them, he gets reminded of how happy he felt every time he was around you, and still is, even now.

He’s a huge fan of hand-made things, so no matter how bad they are, as long as they were made by you, his heart is a literal rainbow of glee and he kisses and hugs you soooo much because he’s just that happy.

He’s just so happy to be able to spend time with you and just be himself with nobody to judge, because you would understand him, and let me tell you, Ryou Fluffy Bakura would love you endlessly.
