Kamisero || Good morning texts
For Sero Ship Week Day 4: Free day at @seroshipweek
Sero: its 7 why are u texting me at this villainous hour
SUMMARY: Sero is just wants to sleep. Kaminari just wants to be a good boyfriend.
GENRE: social media, sero hanta x kaminari denki, writing at the end
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The door slammed open, causing Sero to jerk upright, scrambling for the blanket that had fallen off as he squinted blearily at the intruder.
Seeing blond hair, he groaned, slamming back down into the bed as he raised a pillow to cover his ears as much as possible from the inevitable--
“MORNING BABE!” Kaminari yelled, leaping onto the bed. Sero oomphed, trying to wriggle free but to no avail.
“Geff off me,” He mumbled into his pillow. “You smell like...smoke.”
Kaminari paused, laughing nervously. “Well, you know, just had a near-death experience that’s all.”
Sero snorted before lifting his head–painfully stretching his neck muscles which still ached–and groaning again. “You’re going to give me a near-death experience by breaking my back.”
Kaminari slowed but then plopped down next to him, grinning.
“It’s too early for this Kami,” Sero mumbled, turning away and shutting his eyes.
“Oof, where’s Smiley when we need him?”
“‘Smiley’ doesn’t wake up til ten on weekends.”
“Cool. Lemme stay here.”
“Why?”
“To cuddle! Why else?” Sero turned his head to look at him, a sleepy eyebrow raised. “Why are you so suspicious of me? I’m hurt! The agony,” Kaminari declared, pouting. Sero sighed, but couldn’t help the twitching of his lips as he shifted closer, raising an arm to envelope the shorter boy.
“Fine but please be quiet. Not all of us have infinite stores of energy after hours of training.”
“Okie doki sir!”
“And no pictures.”
“Not okie doki.”
“Kami.”
“Okie doki!”
Sero shifted into a more comfortable position around the blond, satisfied in his half-awake state, falling deeper into sleep as he practically fed on the warmth. His mouth moved almost unconsciously.
“And Kami...”
“Hm...?”
“Good morning.”
He didn’t have to open his eyes to know Kaminari was grinning like a fiend.
But if being tired and rejecting Kaminari’s attempts at good morning texts ended up with said blond in his arms, Sero wouldn’t complain.

The prompts for these days are:
Day 1, Dec 3rd 2018: Getting Warm/Staying Warm in the Cold Weather ||| First Kiss ||| Blind Date AU Day 2, Dec 4th 2018: Snow Ball Fight ||| Fake Dating AU ||| BnHA Fantasy AU Day 3, Dec 5th 2018: Hot Chocolate ||| Museum Trip ||| Childhood Friends AU Day 4, Dec 6th 2018: Snowed In ||| Truth or Dare ||| Secret Admirer Day 5, Dec 7th 2018: Winter Dance ||| Mutual Pining ||| Jealousy Day 6, Dec 8th 2018: Presents ||| Hurt/Comfort ||| Fairytale AU Day 7, Dec 9th 2018: Free Day!
You can use one, two or all of the prompts listed here! Everything will be reblogged here. Again please tag #serorokiweek2018 in one of the first 5 tags, otherwise it won’t show up in the seroroki week tag due to tumblr’s weirdness :/
We’re gonna keep this PG-13 so like anything you see on Network TV/Basic Cable and Movies is fine! However, I am going to ask that you please tag everything appropriately, triggers, or anything that may be harming to another member of the fandom. Think the golden rule, treat others how you would want to be treated ya know?
A Master Post will be made at the end of the creation period so that everyone can see all of the Seroroki goodness!

Little Moments
KiriBaku Week 2018
Day 2: April 18th
Prompt: Fake Dating AU / Spring Fling / Pirates
Warnings: Mild language
Summary: Who knew that all it took to get these two love birds alone was a clueless Kaminari and a parrot.
Story below the cut.
Halloween. Definitely not Bakugou's favorite holiday, though he didn't put much stock in holidays anyway. St. Patrick's Day? Lame. He didn’t need an excuse to punch pinch someone. Easter? Pastels pissed him off. Valentines Day? Just no. The list could go on.
But Halloween… more often than not kids these days dressed up as their favorite heroes. And while Katsuki Bakugou definitely admired certain heroes, All Might in particular, he had no desire to dress up as them. He was going to be his own hero one day, he didn't need to waste his time parading around as someone else.
“What?" Kirishima's eyes widened. "What do you mean you've never dressed up as a hero?"
Bakugou growled. He didn't like having to explain himself. "I meant what I said. I'm not going to put on the costume of some - "
"But - " Kirishima interrupted, remembering all the times he wore that old Crimson Riot costume as a kid. Even when the occasion didn't call for a costume. Little Kiri would beg his mom to let him wear the suit on play dates, while running errands to the mall, basically every instance he could come up with.
So to have someone, someone who wanted to be a hero no less, who grew up not wearing the costumes of his favorite heroes… Kirishima just didn't understand.
"Hey, hey!" Sero beamed. "That's actually a great idea."
"Huhhh?" Kaminari mumbled around the charging chords sitting between his teeth. "What idea?"
The four of them were huddled around the couches and chairs in the dorm's living room. Bowls of ramen littered the coffee table between them, including the half-empty package of chili flakes Bakugou had insisted dumping into his own bowl. Kaminari had practically downed a whole gallon of water, watching Bakugou scarf down the undoubtedly spicy concoction. One the other hand, Sero complained how Bakugou had ruined a perfectly bowl of ramen, but was overshadowed by Kirishima's praise of Bakugou's manliness. Kirishima then proceeded to dump the remainder of the chili flakes into his own bowl. He did not finish his food; Bakugou ate it for him.
"This is a costume contest, at UA, everyone is going to be dressed as heroes. If our team is going to win, then we have to do something different!" Sero stood from his seat, spreading his arms wide as if he had made some great announcement.
"Oh, I get it!" Kaminari jumped onto the couch, sparks dancing across his skin. "That will really make us stand out!"
Swift as ever, Bakugou grabbed Kaminari's arm and dragged him to the ground. "Don't fry my phone, idiot!"
Cowering as Bakugou stood over him, Kaminari pulled the (only slightly!) smoking phone cord from his mouth, grinning sheepishly. "Heh, my bad. But you have to admit it’s a great idea!"
Not one to be down for long, Kaminari leaped to his feet again, leaning close to Bakugou and Sero.
"Of course it is!" Bakugou smirked. "It was my idea."
Well, not exactly - Sero thought, but didn't really care enough to argue. "What should we go as then?"
Kirishima watched on as his three friends brainstormed costume ideas.
Is this really okay? Not going as heroes?
Pirates. That is what the other three had decided on. And over the next few weeks Kirishima had started to warm up to the idea. Just because it wasn't his first pick for a group costume didn't mean he couldn't enjoy it and play along. Pirates could be fun too!
He had even managed to drag Bakugou out to the mall for once so they could look for costume pieces. Bakugou refused to buy a pre-made costume, so they had to build them from scratch. In the end, Kirishima was pretty happy with the result. He had even found a stuffed parrot to perch on his shoulder. Not having the most fashion sense, even on a regular day, Kirishima's outfit was terribly mismatched with conflicting patterns and colors. He thought that made the affect more real!
They made a funny pair, standing together in their costumes. Bakugou looked almost like pirate royalty, if such a thing even existed. He wore a hat befitting of the captain of their crew, along with tall boots and a long jacket. His shirt brandished a big skull on the front, reminiscent of the flags flown by pirate ships. Though, Kirishima was pretty sure Bakugou already owned that shirt and just didn't want to wear a frilly shirt like Kaminari.
"Wow, you guys look great!" Mina had wandered over, brandishing her Wild, Wild Pussycats costume.
Kaminari and Sero gravitated towards her, showing off their costumes. Sero had developed an entire back-story for his character, claiming to be an old sailor in the navy who lost a hand and leg at war, which made him bitter, leading him to abandon his government and live a life at sea. Naturally, he brandished a peg-leg and a hook for a hand.
Everyone is really getting into this, Kirishima thought, maybe this wasn’t such a bad idea.
Remembering who was next to him, Kirishima abruptly turned back toward Bakugou, not wanting his friend to feel left out. The sudden motion jolted the parrot on his shoulder, and Kirishima reached out a hand to keep the stuffed animal from falling. Bakugou's eyes followed the movement.
"Hehe, " Letting out a nervous laugh, Kirishima raised a hand to run through his hair before remembering he was wearing a bandanna. "Could you imagine if we were pirates for real? Sailing the seas, pillaging and - "
"Get real, shitty hair. You'd be the worst pirate ever." Bakugou asserted.
"Huh?" Was his costume not great after all?
Bakugou huffed before explaining. Why he felt the need to explain, he couldn't understand, but he didn't dwell on it. All he knew was that he should say something before that idiot got the wrong idea. "Last week you couldn't even keep those sunglasses you found in the locker room."
Oh. Kirishima smiled at his friend. So this was just Bakugou being Bakugou. There was nothing wrong with his costume after all.
Bakugou stared at Kirishima's wide smile, curious as to how he was able to look so happy when just a moment ago he had seemed so disappointed.
"Actually," Kaminari slid between the pair, breaking their eye contact. "Captain Jack Sparrow was a good pirate. He refused to sell slaves for the British, so he was brandished as a pirate and his ship was set on fire - "
"Shut up, extra! No one asked you!"
"Hey! I am the Sailing Master of this ship! You should treat me with more respect!"
"What? And who do you think I am?"
The loud rancorous laughter that escaped Kirishima's lips dulled the growing sparks on Bakugou's palms, as he was reminded of Kirishima kind smile from just a minute ago. Suddenly, he wanted to get back to where they were before Kaminari interrupted them.
Gaze drifting from Kirishima's grin to his shoulder, Bakugou's brows furrowed. "Kirishima."
The laughter stopped.
"I'm fixing your costume. Come with me."
Bakugou stormed down the hallway, toward the boy's dorms. He knew Kirishima would follow. And he did.
"What just happened?" A confused Kaminari was left behind.
A hooked hand patted his shoulder. "You just don’t get it, do you?"
Mina nodded along behind them.
Admittedly, Kirishima was a bit confused as well, as he followed Bakugou up the stairs. Bakugou opened the door to his bedroom, expecting Kirishima to follow him inside. When he didn't hear the red-head's heavy footsteps, he turned to see him standing uncertainly in the doorway.
"You've never invited someone into your room."
"Huh? I've just never had a reason to invite you in here before." Growing impatient, he grabbed Kirishima's arm and pulled him into the room, guiding him to a seat on the end of the bed.
Kirishima felt his ears grow warm when he realized Bakugou had only specified inviting him into his room and no one else. No, Kirishima denied, I'm just reading too much into it.
While, Kirishima underwent his own internal debate, Bakugou focused on rifling through his drawers. He had originally wanted to return to their moment from before, but didn't know how to do that. Or how to ask Kirishima for it. So instead he focused on the task at hand.
He had originally cursed his mom for making him over pack, but now he was glad he had brought it. Bakugou grinned triumphantly as his hands lifted the plastic case from under a stack of old sweaters. Placing the case on the bed beside Kirishima, he opened the lid to reveal a sewing set.
"Your stupid parrot keeps slipping off your shoulder. It's annoying." Bakugou explained at Kirishima's questioning glance.
"Oh, thanks." Kirishima now understood. He began to slide the sleeves of this vest off this shoulders.
"No, keep it on. It'll only take a minute."
Kirishima simply nodded and readjusted his vest, perching the parrot on top just where he wanted it. The talented Bakugou is back again, Kirishima mused as he watched the fiery blond be unexpectedly gentle while threading the needle. The hands he was so used to watching burn and destroy, were now carefully piercing his vest and then the plush orange of the parrot's feet. Vest, parrot, vest then parrot - Kirishima's eyes followed the needle as he studied the fingers that moved deftly just under his chin, sometimes brushing against his cheek. It was at this moment that he felt his ears grow even hotter. They had to be noticeably red by now.
Looking around the room to distract himself, Kirishima found something he did not expect. "Hey, you sure have a lot of All Might stuff in here."
Posters, action-figures, even a pillow. It wasn't nearly as much All Might merchandise as Midoriya's room, but there was still a lot. More than Kirishima certainly expected.
"Huh?" Bakugou kept his focus on his hands, making sure not to press the needle too deep and puncture the warm skin beneath the vest. Maybe he should tell Kirishima to harden, just in case.
"I just… I thought you didn't like that hero stuff…" Kirishima trailed off, not sure how to continue.
Faltering, Bakugou recalled when they had first started making their Halloween plans. He had noticed Kirishima's hesitation that day, the insecurity hidden behind his eyes. Bakugou paused in his ministrations and raised his head. Not realizing until now just how close he had leaned into Kirishima, his hands splayed across his chest. Bakugou almost lost his train of thought.
"Just because I don't show my admiration for heroes in the same way that you do, doesn't mean I don’t admire them. Your way isn't any less valid than mine."
The blush spread to Kirishima's cheeks. How? Bakugou wasn’t socially graceful by any means, but somehow he always knew what insecurities Kirishima was feeling. Somehow he knew just what needed to be said.
That soft gaze Kirishima directed at his friend kneeling before him nearly undid Bakugou. Somehow, Kirishima always understood just what Bakugou was trying to say.
"Well, are you going to hurry and finish? We can't win if I have a lopsided parrot." Kirishima grinned at him again. One of those openly warm smiles that almost made the corners of Bakugou's lips twitch too.
There, Bakugou smirked, he had found the moment.

About Me
I’m Mina! I’m 22 years old, and I love this explosive boy. I’m also a writer, though I don’t do too much of that anymore. I work at an amusement park, which is pretty hella cool. Especially since I get to see the safari animals everyday now. If I had to say I had a quirk, it would probably have to do with food. Either being able to just instantly know how to make anything just by looking at it, or being able to tell the different ingredients just by looking. Though I always joke that my quirk is crying on cue. Out of everyone in the BNHA universe, my favorite character is Sero Hanta. He’s just, all around amazing and I just love him so much. I’m pretty plain myself, which is probably why he’s my favorite. I’ve also taken to learning how to do edits, which you can find my edits blog right over here. I’ll stop talking about myself, because I really don’t know what else to say, rip. I’m always up for a conversation!! I hope to see many of you applying for this zine.

Support These Independent Coffee Roasters From Home
There’s a chance we may be headed towards a nationwide shutdown of bars, restaurants, and yes, coffee shops in response to Coronavirus, an action that has already been instituted in certain US states to help  flatten the curve and save lives.
Until that happens you need to tip, dammit, and buy gift cards, and watch for companies in your community converting to take-out, drive-thru and delivery (follow us on Twitter for updates). But another very wonderful thing you can do to support the coffee industry right now is to buy coffee online. Delicious coffee! Coffee you will need to have at home in order to thrive and be well in the weeks ahead.
To help facilitate this action, here’s more than a dozen roasters off the top of our heads that would happily sell you delicious coffee right now, delivered to your door. Each one is an independent roaster we here at Sprudge know personally to be purveyors of utterly delicious coffee.
Some are in America, others are not. All are operated by humans. This list includes a few of our sponsors, whose support makes our daily publishing work at Sprudge possible, as well as many other indie roasters we admire. This is just a start—the comments to this post are open and we’ll be updating and sharing more recommendations along the way, so be sure to let us know more great folks to buy from.
Buy multiple things. Try something new. Share this post with your family and friends—we’ve been sure to include a broad range of roast profiles and price points for every coffee drinker you love—and watch for more stories like this from us in the coming hours.
Bolt Coffee — Providence, Rhode Island
Yummy delicious coffee from the artsy weirdo haven of Providence, Rhode Island. We’ve featured Bolt a couple of different ways over the years, including a fun design feature, a 2016 Build-Outs of Summer spotlight, and as part of our Coffee Lover’s Guide to Providence.
Check out Bolt Coffee’s online shop and try their Papua New Guinea Sero Bebes or Honduras Rafael Lara, or any other coffee that catches your eye. $5 flat shipping across the USA. Pick up an Aerobie AeroPress while you’re at it!
Camber Coffee — Bellingham, Washington
More fabulous coffee from a college town, this time from Camber Coffee in Bellingham, Washington (so close to Canada you can pick up watch MuchMusic). We’ve featured Camber a bunch on the site over the years, most notably in a long read on their roasting work making waves, and more recently in a design feature on their Artist Series.
More so than perhaps any other independent American roaster, the range of Camber’s offerings is consistently excellent. We’d recommend checking out their sample box set to try a broad selection of current offerings, and don’t miss the aforementioned Artist Series.
Deadstock Coffee — Portland, Oregon
Global attention has rightfully come over the last few years to Deadstock Coffee, a single shop roaster retailer based in the Old Town neighborhood of Portland, Oregon. There’s nowhere else quite like it in America: an effortless, preternatural fusing of sneaker and streetwear culture with contemporary coffee at its core. It’s a Sprudge staff favorite for good reason; read our in-depth interview with founder Ian Williams from 2018 to learn more.
Perhaps underreported, then, is Deadstock’s growth in the last year into one of the Pacific Northwest’s very best indie roasters. In collaboration with collaborative roasting cooperative Buckman Coffee Factory, Williams and the crew (including manager Kevin Minnieweather and all-world barista + design duo The Twinterns) are serving standout delicious espresso and filter coffee alongside memorable origninal drinks. Visit Deadstock’s official website for ordering information and go with one the blends as your new daily filter coffee drinker at home, perfect on its own or with a little alternative milk (like say, Portland’s own Pacific Foods Barista Series).
Ditta Artiganale — Florence, Italy
So much love and solidarity to our coffee family in Italy, where a total shut-down on restaurants and cafes has been in place now for several days. Sprudge was the first international coffee publication to report on Ditta Artigianale, all the way back in 2014, from founder and Italian Barista Champion Francesco Sanapo. How wonderful to watch the company grow and expand in the years since—we drank coffee here every day during our recent trip to Florence to visit the incredible new Accademia del Caffè.
Ditta offers worldwide shipping with a range of beautiful coffees, including a lovely Dari Hambela from Ethiopia and the much-loved Finca El Puente from the Herrera family Honduras. As you would expect from a thoroughly Italian company, Ditta’s merch is knockout, including some of the coolest coffee socks in the business.
Elixr Coffee — Philadelphia, PA
We’ve got big love for Elixr Coffee of Philadelphia, who recently hosted Sprudge’s founders on their book tour, and were the subject of this loving packaging spotlight feature. Elixr’s webstore has a really interesting hook-up: three bags of coffee, your choice, all for $45. Mix and match sought after single origin coffees from the likes of La Palma y El Tucan and Finca Las Brumas with blends like Beekeper or Treehouse.
Their founder can pour Gritty—’nuff said.
3FE  — Dublin, Ireland
All the coffee world loves 3FE, founder and author Colin Harmon’s iconic Irish roaster / retailer with two locaitons in Dublin, plus restaurant spin-offs Gertrude and Daniel. Our readers voted 3FE as the top choice for Sustainable Cafe at the 2019 Sprudgie Awards presented by Pacific Barista Series, and they’ve been a fixture on our website over the last decade, from long read interviews to roaster spotlights and features on noted wholesale partners like Filter Coffee in County Cork. Harmon’s brand is so synonymous  with the Irish coffee scene we once commissioned a guide called “Dublin: Five Great Cafes (That Aren’t 3FE)“.
Good cafes helped build the brand, there’s no doubt, but today 3FE’s roasting is some of the best in all Europe. There’s a range of origins available, including a really intersting Biodynamic natural processed Indian arabica from the Nilgiris region, along with clean, lovely washed Bourbon from Guatemala’s Finca La Soledad and washed Pacamara from El Salvador’s Finca Las Brumas. Irish readers can sign up for subscriptions; for the rest of us, shipping to the United States is just €8.00 with Standard Post. And if you like a bit of milk with your coffee, try pairing 3FE’s filter-ready Momentum Blend with a splash of Minor Figures oat milk.
Koppi — Helsingborg, Sweden
Swedish sunshine in a cup from husband and wife duo Anne Lunell and Charles Nystrand. Koppi is served at several of the finest coffee bars and restaurants across Europe, from Scandinavian Embassy in Amsterdam to Lyle’s in London.
Koppi offers a tough to beat free international shipping option when you order four bags. I have literally never had a bad Koppi coffee, but especially love the depth of flavor and expression they coax from distinct Colombian coffees like Finca Los Alpes and the Nunez family’s El Sapo. Small roasters like this feel as much like supporting artists or creatives as they do following a coffee brand, and there is something personal and refreshing about that. Follow them on Instagram for more adventures and cute photos of their dog.
Monarch Coffee — Kansas City, Missouri
From cafe experience and design to a commitment to diversity and education, Monarch Coffee walks the walk for what a young coffee company can be in 2020. Longtime Sprudge contributor and competition photographer Charlie Burt went big in his March 2019 feature on the brand: “This place represents not just what’s possible here in Kansas City, but for the coffee culture at large headed into the next decade.”
All that goodness would be well enough, but the company’s roasting is every bit as on point, walking a delicate line between accessible and expressive. Pastel pink bags of Iyula AA Tanzania and Monteblanco Gesha Colombia won’t just look good on your countertop—they’ll taste great, too.
Olympia Coffee Roasting Company — Olympia, Washington
Simply one of the best roasters in the United States, regardless of size or geography, Olympia Coffee Roasting Company have been standardbearers for third wave coffee culture in the Pacific Northwest since 2005. Now with a Seattle flagship and a handsome cafe roastery in Tacoma’s historic Proctor District to complement three hometown coffee bars, “Oly Coffee” have established themselves as the pan-Northwestern roaster of record.
This is another brand where I’ve honestly never had a bad coffee, but no mention of Oly is complete without shouting loudly and repeatedly about how great their decaf is. The brand’s Asterisk program is a revolving single origin decaf coffee, currently from Colombia’s San Sebastian Project. Also wonderful is Olympia’s ever-changing Big Truck blend, an organic melange that just took home 2020 Good Food Awards finalist honors. All retail orders ship free.
Pilot Coffee Roasters — Toronto, Ontario
Toronto’s Pilot Coffee Roasters have been featured across Sprudge in a variety of different ways over the last few years: in our 2019 Toronto coffee guide; in two separate Build-Outs of Summer features, from 2017 and 2019, respectively; and at Nemesis Coffee in Vancouver, a 2017 Sprudgie nominee for Best New Cafe.
There’s no doubt they’re building a cool little empire in Ontario, but if you’re US based, they’ll happily ship—and this is a great time to try their coffees. Pick up a single origin like the Catalan De Las Mercedes “Red Bourbon” from Guatemala, and pair that with a home coffee maker friendly blend like Academy.
Ruby Coffee Roasters — Nelsonville, Wisconsin
Perhaps you know the story by now. Fella from rural Wisconsin winds up working at the reach break of the early third wave coffee boom—Intelligentsia Coffee in Los Angeles in the late Naughty Aughties—before putting in time for a landmark Seattle cafe brand. Fella gives up the city life, moves back to rural Wisconsin, and sets up a progressive third wave roaster in the family farmhouse. He names the brand after his grandma.
Liz Clayton’s 2015 feature on Ruby Coffee Roasters remains a must-read on the brand, but it’s been a long five years since, during which time the brand has expanded wholesale nationally and opened a coffee bar community hub. One of the most interesting ways to drink Ruby is via their instant coffee collaboration with Sudden Coffee of San Francisco. Tandem Coffee Roasters — Portland, Maine
Much love to Tandem Coffee of Portland, Maine, who earlier this year scored what may well have been the first James Beard Award nomination for a coffee shop (honoring co-founder and baker Brianna Holt).  Tandem featured prominently in our Portland Maine Coffee Guide from (checks notes) 2012, which is due for a dang update, and they were part of our first-ever season of Build-Outs of Summer.
Tandem’s web shop offers a bunch of incredible stuff, and while unfortunately there is no way to ship a box of Brianna Holt’s cookies, you can sign up for their super unique coffee + vinyl subscription, shop for clever merch and home brewing essentials, and shop for tasty coffees like Burundi Kibingo or Kenya Kiboi.
Tipico Coffee – Buffalo, New York
Is this the coziest cafe in America? Probably. Longtime coffee industry veteran Jesse Crouse (formerly of Intelligentsia, Verve, and Gimme! Coffee) launched Tipico in 2015, helping bring coffee along for the culinary and craft beer rocket ride of the great Buffalonian revival of recent years. Back in 2015 they were pretty revolutionary for this town, but these days Buffalo is home to a wider thriving coffee scene, documented here in our February 2020 Buffalo Coffee Guide.
Ordering some coffee from Tipico is the correct move for yourself, your taste buds, and the universe. Try their sugar cane processed Colombia Cauca, or a nice natural processed Ethiopian from the Kayon Mountain Estate. And if you’re shut in with someone who enjoys a bold, robust profile, Tipico offers an exemplary Dark Roast option.
Wrecking Ball Coffee Roasters — San Francisco, California
We go way, way back with Wrecking Ball Coffee Roasters of San Francisco and its founders, Nick Cho and Trish Rothgeb, covering their work in San Francisco and beyond since 2012. We’ve known them even longer—listen to a couple of our Sprudge Origin Story podcasts (1 & 2) to learn more. But in the here and now Wrecking Ball has grown from a landmark Cow Hollow cafe to a Sprudgie Award nominated Berkeley hub, winning over converts and helping define what the next wave of coffee in American can be.
We’re not just old friends, we’re also fans. Rothgeb, Cho and their team oversee a smart roasting operation, with bags decked out in bright splashes of neon yellow (pair them with your favorite sneaker selfie). Pillow Fight is one of the country’s top evolving espresso blends; pair that with an Ethiopia Yirgacheffe or a nice exclusive coffee from Northwest Peru.
