Ruriiro no Toki (Moon Troupe 2017)

I saw the play on 5/6 in Umeda Theater Drama City, and it happened to be a very memorable show full of firsts: first solo lead for Miyaruri, first solo heroine for Umi, first show as a member of Tsukigumi for Reiko, and first live zuka small theater show for me. :’D It was also my first time seeing a live show by a troupe other than yuki or hoshi (i have my favourites and also the luck for my trips to coincide specifically with my favourites, apparently). I wasn’t planning on seeing it at first, but I am very glad I managed to. Plot summary for Act 1 (to not spoil it completely since the show is getting a dvd release) and my thoughts under the cut:

Plot:

Peniless actors, Simon and Jacques sneak into Chateau de Chambord -rumored former residence of the now long-missing Count de St. Germain- with the intention of searching for valuables to steal and ease their poverty situation. By chance, they find a hidden door leading to a secret room filled with treasures and a little box that contains a mysterious sphere of lapis lazuli -the Philosopher’s Stone. Over the room also hangs a portrait of the Count, which to their astonishment, looks exactly like Simon. In on them walks Theodore, the Count’s now elderly valet who was loyally waiting for his disappeared master’s return for over 60 years. He greets Simon as the Count de St.Germain, and Simon plays along to save the both of them from getting arrested for thieves. The two young men see this unexpected situation as an opportunity to rise up in society and live the good life among the aristocracy they’ve always dreamed of. Simon puts his acting skills to work and assumes the identity of the immortal and wondrous alchemist, the Count de St. Germain, making a triumphant return to the court of Versailles, enchanting everyone with his stories and his predictions with the Philosopher’s Stone. Jacques poses as his valet, Theodore, at his side. Marie Antoinette consults St. Germain about an ominous, recurring dream she’s been having, but he comforts her about its possible meaning. In Versailles, corruption and opulence reign, while the country’s finances are in a terrible state. The King and Queen are way too influenced by their close courtiers to pay attention to Minister of Finance Necker’s warnings about growing dissatisfaction and miserable living conditions among the populace. Maximilien Robespierre and his comrades are riling up the people to revolt. One day, Simon and Jacques’ old travelling troupe is brought to the Petit Trianon to perform in front of the Queen and her entourage. The two of them are stunned to see their old pals in Versailles, and quickly excuse themselves for the day to avoid being recognized. Marie Antoinette is impressed by the star performer of the troupe, Ademar, and offers her a position in the Royal Dance Troupe*. Ademar is a young woman of humble background who resents the aristocracy and Marie Antoinette as its symbol, because of the state they have brought France into which led to her parents’ death. However, she gives in to the peer pressure and half-heartedly accepts the Queen’s proposal. The clash between the aristocracy and Necker’s prudent warnings lead to his dismissal. In a corner of the palace, Count Province urges the King to send the military in Paris to suppress the brewing unrest that has spread all over following this dismissal. The King is ultimately convinced. Jacques and Ademar happen to overhear this conversation. Ademar’s hatred for the aristocracy only grows. She spots Jacques listening in too and finally finds out what happend to him and Simon. Jacques, disgusted that the aristocracy is willing to do such a thing to their own people, people like him and his friends, decides to adandon the court and tips off Robespierre about the imminent military action. Jacques tells Simon about the plan and urges him to leave this life behind, but Simon is too absorbed into the identity of the Count de St. Germain and refuses. The two friends part for the first time, as times are changing and France is moving closer to the brink of the French Revolution.

Overall: This show exceeded any expectations I had going in, which made me very happy since they happened to gather 99% of all my favourite Tsuki people (including brand new, shiny, fresh off the transfer oven, Reiko). It is not to say it was flawless. Harada-sensei could have given it a more concrete, less vague/open ending imo, and some characterisation fell short (see below for more on that), but it is an extrmely solid show, with stunning and at the same time somehow simple visuals, and AMAZING music, oh my god, can this soundtrack be on iTunes right now. I found myself immediately absorbed in the world of this play, was completely floored by the intermission, and even the aforementioned issues withstanding, left the theatre quite fascinated. One of Harada’s best originals, I dare say. When the show was announced I assumed the director would go for a fictionalised Count of St.Germain, going for an excuse to make Miyaruri a libertine in 18th century France. Which, lbr, would also make a great premise for a show, but I’m glad I was wrong, because the “we have no idea who/what the Count was, Simon just happens to look like him and runs with it” device was clever, and added extra mystery to the premise. Miya and Reiko, although acting together for the first time, make a fine brotp, and there are many layers to both of their characters, but mostly in the relationship between them. The whole play was very much about identity and relationships between people, and how relationships between people change in different contexts. I do wish the whole thing between the main 3 leads, in particular, actually went somewhere, but as i saw it, there is a lot of food for thought behind every layer in this play, every decision, and lots of room for the audience to deduce and fill in the blanks for themselves (occasionally *too* much room...), which is something that often counts as a plus in my book. On the technical side, the costumes were very elaborate and the set included a huge spiralling and rotating staircase which stood for more than just being a convenient, impressive-looking set piece. I also especially loved the secret door/panel set with the huge lizard on it. The (remotely controlled!) light sphere that served as the Philospher’s Stone was another very contextually important, plot-relevant prop, in a show where light usage was very cleverly handled.

Miya Rurika as Simon It feels almost unreal that this woman is getting her first solo lead show only now, at ken-15 (!), never having experienced a Bow lead, but Miyaruri somehow was not as firmly tracked as, and in the way of other, younger, way more pushed people her entire career, so here we are. 2 years ago, I plain couldn’t imagine her leading a troupe. She’d proved me wrong recently in Manon and King Arthur, now she got to directly melt my face off. Simon was a great role for her. She pulled off the long, curly wig like she was born with it, and performed her character and all his stages of growth and change with incredible heart and skill. She made the process of positive travelling actor Simon taking on the identity of the Count and almost losing himself completely in this newfound position of luxury, power, but above all being needed, flow inevitably, magnetically, beautifully. At one point, after he and Jacques disappear, Ademar laments the new lead actor’s terrible line delivery and points out Simon would have done it better. Later in the play Simon recites that same line, and I felt the difference to my very core. Her acting was solid, her dancing was fluid and expressive, her singing envelopped the hall, her chemistry with other characters was palpable. This woman has earned her top feathers. Hopefully she’ll get them some day.

Tsukishiro Kanato as Jacques For those who have spend less than 5″ on my blog, I am currently a Yukigumi girl over anything else in this life, and I am not even going to lie here, this being our precious Royal Dimples’ first show in her new home, is at least 50% of why I wanted to see it in the first place. I was happy to see she was fine. Reiko was a very good combi with Miya and blended in with tsukigumi very well. I felt she’d substantially leveled up compared to Maximilian or Aoshi, which is exactly what she needs and a big part behind this transfer as well, I am guessing. Jacques starts out joined at the hip with Simon, his loyal BFF4E, his trusted sidekick in life, but where Simon becomes the Count, rather than impersonate him, Jacques never loses his pragmatic view on things, never losing sight of his commoner roots, and in the long run choosing what he always knew, instead of the facade he came to know. Their fallout is both inevitable and bitter, and Jacques goes through several stages of character development, which Reiko handled great. While I adore her, I believe there is still tons of room for her to grow, especially in the acting department, and in this show she convinced me she is currently undergoing this process, taking steps to get there. The carefree Jacques of Act 1 who provided (unexpectedly!) many a comedic moment with his pal, is miles away from Jacques the Jacobin of Act 2, and there is even more after that. Unexpectedly #2, for someone this impossibly pretty, she has quite the stout, manly otokoyaku aura on stage, which personally took me by extremely pleasant surprise. In the finale she got to lead the musumeyaku, being lethal and illegal with her winks while doing so. Take care of this one for us, Tsukigumi!

Umino Mitsuki as Ademar Little-known fact about me, probably: Umichan is one of my most favourite people in the entire company right now, and I was THRILLED when the news she landed this role dropped. She makes a breathtaking team with Miya and Reiko, and she is an angel on stage. I could hardly breathe during her ballet scene, she was every bit a flower fairy. Her singing has noticeably leveled up, and she acted out Ademar’s strife and strong character with passion. The only issue lies not with her, but with Harada-sensei, who admittedly gave her little to work with. Harada is known for being kinda hit or miss and mostly miss with how he writes musumeyaku parts (especially lead musumeyaku parts), and I am very sad to say, that looking back at it, I can’t help feeling he kind of dropped the ball with Ademar too. On the one hand, I found it refreshing to be reminded that a lead musumeyaku doesn’t need to be romantically linked to someone to exist as the main female character in the story. Nor does she need to be nice and forgiving and inhumanly sweet. Ademar is largely driven by negative feelings: revenge for her parents, disgust for the pampered aristocracy who lives in a fishbowl and drives most of the country to live in misery. I also can’t say she was shafted for stage time, and she had without a doubt her standout singing and dancing numbers. Her duedan with Miya in the finale was heart-stoppingly beautiful, they complement each other visually to the nth degree. On the other hand though, the more I sit on it, the more I realise she is not very plot-relevant after all, especially in Act 2, most of all at the very end. We know little about her besides the very basics, and we also see much less of her than the other 2 main guys to figure her out more, and by the end this lack of depth becomes noticeable. “Okay chem, but this is just a 2h-long show, with a finale, there’s time limits and stuff” you’ll tell me, but I really don’t see how they couldn’t have spent 2 minutes of exposition/reminiscing or a short flashback scene to flesh out Ademar’s bond to the other two guys a little more. It is what it is though, and I am still happy for Umi getting this lead. Fingers crossed she gets many many more in the future!

Shirayuki Sachika as Marie Antoinette ALL OF THE ABOVE SAID, this show gets full marks for non-tracked senior onnayaku usage, for this very role. We’ve seen 50 Marie Antoinettes in recent years, but Sachika made the part not seem overdone to death and back, what kind of brilliant, award-worthy achievement. Her Antoinette was poised, majestic, adult, and somehow very human, very realistic. Closer to a real-life queen of the time, rather than a fictionalised image of one, she absolutely murdered the part, and made me once again realise how valuable and at the same time criminally underused seasoned onnayaku are. To be perfectly honest, Sachika’s Antoinette felt more like the main female character of the play than Ademar. She had probably an almost equal amount of stage time,  influences every single character, and very clearly affects Simon, who develops feelings for her (romantic? respect? affection? protectiveness? it’s up to interpretation, but they’re definitely there). She is a symbol in the play and at the same time very much a human being, and Sachika brought out both aspects as if she was born into this position, living it her entire life. I immediately saw why (Sakihi) Miyu respects and looks up to her so much, I saw a lot of her influence in Miyu’s acting here. We need more substantial roles like this one for senior onnayaku, learn y’all.

Uzuki Hayate as Robespierre Toshi seems to be getting good treatment lately, and that is awesome, because she is so talented, and has a very commanding aura on stage, she only deserves the best treatment. Robespierre was technically the sanbante otokoyaku role, which doesn’t say all that much in this play since everyone under the 4 roles i just talked about, didn’t get *too* much to do, but it was still a very decent role, and she still did an excellent job of it, leading the ensemble numbers and the revolution and stuff. She also got to lead the otokoyaku number in the finale, and wear a sparkly jacket, GET IT, Toshi. Special mention to the her hidden second role: she opens the play as Theodore, the -original- Count’s now elderly valet, and she was so good at it, I did not even recognize her.

Kizuki Yuuma as Necker Mayupon gets her own paragraph, because this is me and my blog, and I am never subtle with my bias okay. She rocked her ‘stache, was probably the one person not here for St.Germain’s fancy nonsense, and she also had!! a SOLO!! on the staircase!! Not Roi Arthur levels of yay, but still good in my book. Her stage presence remains double that of her experience years, and it’s stunning to behold. ♡

Other people: Kouzuki Ruu was Louis XVI, and considering she was Necker in 1789, it must have been an interesting experience for her to play both sides. She was elegant and also funny in her “inspecting” St.Germain up close bit. Takasumi Hayato was quite slimy as Count Province, the King’s brother. Her voice tone and body language oozed “I wouldn’t spit on a peasant if they were on fire” at all times. Kagetsu Miyako was a very spunky Countess Polignac, and she delivered perfectly to my very high expectations of her (she’s a delight to watch and i low-key love her). Hibiki Reona was ...there as the head of the travelling troupe, but honestly the part was tiny anyway. Harune Aki was unfortunately completely wasted in the general court ladies group, even if she had most of the lines that didn’t go to Nacchan. Yumena Rune was adorable as Philippo, the kinda useless troupe guy that had to replace Simon as the main lead. Kanoha Toki had barely 3 lines, in the troupe members ensemble. Hayaki Yuuto, Tsukasa Ren, and Kashiro Aoi (♡) were Robespierre’s 3 bros, mostly following him around, discussing revolution stuff with him and almost had the same stage time as him. They did a fine job for their part, altho I felt Tsucchii was overacting. Extra shoutout to all the babies who were St.Germain’s “shadows” and brought on the kurotenshi realness, down to the silver wigs.

Very much looking forward to the dvd release so I can revisit this beautiful play!

Plz read this thing i found about the band Letters VS. Numbers

This isn't my usual type of post on here but I NEEDED to tell someone about my detective work for this cryptid band. And trust me when i say this shit gets WEIRD.

So there's this band called Letters VS. Numbers, they're super underground and anonymous, were pretty active around 2011 then were quiet for a while and everyone thought they were a dead band. Greats songs tho.

Anyway, in 2020 they released some more singles and put them on Spotify (bangers, go listen to them).

I wanted to see if i could buy an old album on theirs, but they don't sell anywhere. Looked through some youtube comments and there are people distributing google drive links with digital copies of the earlier songs from when they used to be on iTunes.

They only have one post, and it's about Letters VS. Numbers. And lucky me, it provided LINKS to their old social media accounts (seriously old, MySpace era). These links are broken now, but i'm a cool hacker person and used the Wayback Machine to view the pages.

And it was awesome.

Yes. the link is ACTIVE!! It's $7 (USD) for the Bone Tired album, which was a limited edition print BECAUSE of the travel log idea they made.

SO pretty much Letters VS. Numbers created this album in where people copy it to their computers, write their names on it, and add their names to a Google maps list (look at Travel Log link) so you can see where everyone is who's ever had a copy. Then you pass the album to someone else and the cycle continues.

But I havent actually tried purchasing it cuz im a little spooked by what i found next.

At the bottom of the PayPal page, there was a link saying Cancel and return to Letters VS. Numbers. I clicked it and it took me to a page that looked like this.

Then i decided that was enough for me, i spent 4 hours researching this shit when i have three exams to study for and now i've gotta hope the american government doesnt try to kill me while i sleep.

Someone Special - Harry Styles Christmas Series (Part 10)

Part 9

“I know we’ve only known each other for a short time, but when you know you know, right? And I fucking know that I love you and I’m scared just as much as you are, but I’m more scared of how I feel when I’m not with you,” he whispered looking into your eyes.

You stared at him completely taken aback by what he said. Never did you expect him or anyone to ever say anything like that to you. You didn’t know what to say, so you did the only thing you felt in heart was right. You put your hands on his face as you kissed him. He wanted to respond to the kiss, but he couldn’t until he knew where you two stood. 

“Wait, wait,” he said pulling away. “We need to talk this out... As much as I want to kiss you right now, I need to know how you feel about me and if-if you’re willing to be in a relationship.” 

“I want to give us a chance, I do,” you whispered. 

“But?” He sighed.

“But, I’m fucking terrified,” you whispered. “Last year I thought I was broken. I thought I would never get over how hurt I was, but then I did. And now, I realize,  I wasn’t in love with him and I was only hurt over what I thought I had and lost. The reason I’m so scared about doing this with you is because I’ve never felt this way about anyone... and I know if something ever happened... I truly would be broken and I don’t know.. I don’t know if I could bring myself out of that.” 

Harry looked at sadly, pushing a strand of hair from your face, “I can’t promise that we’ll always be together or that shit might not happen, but what I promise is that I would never intentionally hurt you. And I know you’re scared and I never want to be the reason you’re hurting,” he said. “But life is too short for us not to take risks. Hell, if I never went on the X Factor, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Who knows where the fuck I’d be, if I didn’t take that risk.” 

“I want to say yes,” you whispered. “I wanted to fight more that night back in London, but I-” 

“Y/N,” he whispered. “Look at me.” 

You sighed bringing your gaze to meet his.

“Don’t think about the what ifs, don’t think about the past, don’t think about the future,” he said. “If none of that other shit mattered, what would you want right now in this moment.” 

“You,” you whispered without a hesitation. “I want to be with you... us to be together.” 

“Then why can’t we have that?” He asked. “We can’t change the past and we can’t predict the future, but we can live in the moment and see what we can be.”

You sighed looking down at your hands. 

“Y/N,” he sighed. “I love you and I know that you love me, too. I’m sitting here giving you my heart. I’m laying out every fucking piece of me and you have the choice and opportunity to tell me you don’t want to be with me and I’ll accept that. And with that, you have every opportunity to break me because you own my heart and all I’m asking for is a chance to have yours in return.” 

“But you do,” you whispered. “You’ve had it since that night in New York.” 

He took your hand into his, lacing your fingers together. You sighed moving from your spot on the couch, onto his lap, still keeping your hands intertwined. 

You put your forehead against his, “Will you be mine?” You whispered. 

“Already am,” he said a smile forming on his lips. 

“And I’m yours,” you whispered. 

He smiled widely bringing your face down for a kiss.

Album Release Day. 

You woke up with Harry’s arms wrapped around you. You were surprised he was still sleeping knowing how excited it was for the day. Although, with him having the show that night, you knew he was probably making sure he was well rested. You moved Harry from his face as you smiled thinking how great it felt finally allowing yourself to love him and be with him. There was still a huge part of you that was nervous and scared, but he was worth it. 

You decided on sneaking out of the bed and making a huge congratulations breakfast for the two of you. You unwrapped his arm from you and slipped out from under the covers. You grabbed one of his shirts laid out on a chair to pull over your naked body before heading into the kitchen. You smirked as you found the album on your recently added in your iTunes and played it softly while you looked around for something to make. 

You danced around a bit in the kitchen as you grabbed what you needed to make french toast. You pulled your hair back into a low bun as you measured everything out before pouring them in a bowl. You mixed everything up and dipped a few slices of bread into the mixture before placing them on the heated skillet. 

When Harry woke up without you in the bed, he groaned rolling out of bed and followed the smell of brown sugar, cinnamon, and maple syrup. He could hear the familiar sounds of Adore You playing the closer he got to the kitchen. He smiled seeing you moving your hips to the beat of the song as you flipped over what he assumed was french toast. He also noticed you where wearing his shirt with not very much underneath. 

He walked over to you, wrapping his arms around you waist and kissing your cheek, “Morning beautiful,” he smiled. 

“Oh hey,” you smiled. “I was hoping I would be finished before you woke up.” 

“Well, I rolled over in bed to find it empty, so I woke up to go in search for my girlfriend,” he smirked. 

“You really like saying that don’t you?” you giggled. 

��Love it actually,” he smiled. 

“Good because I love hearing it,” you smiled turning around to wrap your arms around his shoulder. 

“Now, what do you think of the album so far?” He asked. 

“Pretty good,” you smiled. “And the fact that it’s currently number 1 on iTunes, means I’m not the only one who thinks that.” 

“Really?” He asked. “It’s number one?” 

“Yep, in multiple countries,” you said. “Why are you sounding so shocked?” 

“I don’t know,” he laughed. “It’s one of those things that are still unbelievable you know.” 

“I do, actually,” you said. “When my last album almost sold 1 mill in the first week, I was convinced someone did the numbers wrong.” 

“Okay, miss show off,” he joked. 

You laughed kissing him quickly before flipping over the last piece of toast.

“I’ll get the drinks and set the table,” he said. 

“Sounds good, I’ll bring everything over in a bit,” you said. 

“You’re coming to the show tonight, right?” He asked. 

“Hm, I don’t know, I was thinking about staying home and organizing my closet,” you joked. “Of course, I’m coming, unless you don’t want me there.” 

Harry walked over to you after you turned off the stove, puling you closer to him, “Why would I not want you there? I want you right in the front of the side stage, so I make you all hot and bothered and you’ll want to jump me as soon as we get back here,” he smirked. 

“You don’t exactly have to try very hard for that,” you smirked. 

“Oh, really?” He asked walking you both back towards the island in the middle of the kitchen. 

“Really,” you nodded. 

“So, if I wanted to take you right here and now, you’d be all ready to go?” He smirked. 

“How about we find out?” You smirked. 

He pressed his lips against yours and picked you up to place you onto the countertop. The shirt you were wearing had been pushed up in the process and he smirked against your lips. You wrapped your legs around his waist, pulling him closer to you as you ran your hands over his chest. Removing his lips from yours, he brought them down your neck. You bit your lip while tilting your head back. 

Just when he started pulling on the fabric covering your body, the front door flew open. 

“H! Your ass better be awake! It’s fucking album release day and your fucking smashing it right-” Jeff shouted walking through the house, only stopping when he saw the two of you in the kitchen. 

Your face turned redder than ever before, you quickly pushed Harry away, jumping down from the island and trying to cover yourself up as much as you could with the length of his the shirt. 

“Jeff, what the fuck, mate?” Harry groaned. “I own a doorbell.” 

“Uh-sorry,” he said. “I uh, I didn’t realize you had company.. or that you two made up.. or that you would be fucking in the kitchen.” 

“We hadn’t exactly gotten to the fucking yet... thanks to you,” He said simply causing you to hit his arm. 

“We were just making breakfast,” you said quickly. “That’s it.” 

“Right,” Jeff said. “Anyway, I won’t stay long, but I just want to stop by, say the album is doing extremely well and we’re only about 8 hours in from release.” 

“Really happy to the hear that,” Harry smiled. “Fucking ecstatic and I would love to continue this conversation, but maybe later.. and when my girlfriend isn’t half naked.” 

You hit Harry’s arm again as embarrassment took over your face once again. 

“Girlfriend?” Jeff smirked. “Well, happy to hear it’s finally fucking official. Y/N, lovely to see you again and I’m sure we’ll be seeing you tonight then?” 

“Yep,” you nodded. 

“Great,” Jeff said. “I’ll be on my way now. H, give me a ring when you’re uh... done with breakfast. We’ve got some final details to over for tonight.” 

“Will do,” Harry said with a wave.  

You both watched and waited for him to leave. Once he was out the door, you turned around grabbing the plates of french toast, while Harry pulled you over to him. 

“Shall we pick up where we left off?” He smirked. 

“Yeah, no,” you said. 

He whined, “What? Why?” He groaned. 

“Seriously? They may not have been embarrassing for you, but I’m mortified. I’m not exactly in the fucking mood after that,” you pointed out. 

“Fucking Jeff,” he mumbled following you over to the table.

You were currently on your way to The Forum for Harry’s One Night Only Album Release Show. You were wearing a pair of faux black leather pants and a fine line t-shirt tied into a crop top. 

“I need to tell you something.” he said looking over at you. 

“If it’s that I’m looking really fucking hot right now and you want to get it on in the car or your dressing room when we get there, it’s not happening,” you said. “I’m not about to have someone walk in again.” 

“Okay, first of all, I’m not sure how should I take the fact that you thought that was what I was going to tell you,” he said. “And second of all, even though it’s not what I was planning on saying, you do look really fucking hot right now and I would love nothing more than to do naughty things to you.” 

“You did not just say that,” you laughed. 

“I did and I’m not ashamed,” he smirked. 

You shook your head looking over at him, “Anyway, what is it that you need to tell me?” 

“My Mum is gonna be at the show,” he said quickly. 

in fact it was so quick, you weren’t even sure what he said. “What was that?” you asked. 

“My Mum is going to be at the show,” he said again. 

“And you’re just now telling me this!” You groaned. “Fuck me.” 

“Hey, it’s going to be fine,” he said. “She’s going to love you and I know it’s a little soon to meet her, but you’d meet her eventually, right?” 

“And what if she doesn’t love me?” You asked. 

“Then, I guess I’d you have to see your way out,” he smirked. 

“I hate you,” you mumbled crossing your arms and looking out at the window. 

“No, you don’t,” he smirked wrapping his arm around your shoulder. “You love me.” 

“Unfortunately,” you laughed. 

“That’s the spirit,” he smirked kissing your cheek. 

You were snacking backstage while Harry was doing soundcheck when you heard someone say your name. You looked behind you and saw a woman standing there. You’ve seen pictures of her before and there was quite the resemblance, so you knew she was his mother. 

“Y/N, right?” She smiled. “I’m Anne, Harry’s mother.” 

“Oh, yes, hi, hello,” you said holding out your hand. “Nice to meet you.” 

“I’ve been dying to meet you,” she smiled. “Harry’s talked about you for a while now and I couldn’t wait to see the person who’s brought even more happiness into my son’s life.” 

You blushed, “I’m really happy I’ve done that because he’s done the same for me.” 

“All I’ve ever wanted for my son is for him to be happy and knowing you a part of that, makes me happy,” she whispered. “Thank you.” 

You smiled wrapping your arms around her in a hug. She smiled hugging you back right as Harry walked into the room. He smiled widely seeing you and his mother hugging with smiles on your faces. 

“I told you she would love you,” Harry said to you. 

“Were you worried?” Anne laughed. “Am I that scary?” 

“Sometimes,” Harry smirked. 

“Watch it,” Anne said pointing to him. 

“See what I mean,” he smirked. 

Harry walked over placing his arm around your shoulder. You smiled taking his hand in yours as you looked up at him. He leaned down pressing his lips against yours. 

When it was time for the show to start, you walked out to the very place Harry wanted you. Somewhere he could see you perfectly, but you wouldn’t really be noticed by anyone else. You looked out into the crowd so excited for the amount of people who were there in support of him. You had been so proud all day, reading all the reviews on social media by fans, and by critics. You couldn't wait to hear the songs live along with everyone else. You had your phone with you, so you could take a few photos and videos of the night. 

As soon as the lights went out, the crowd erupted with screams, including yours. The members of his band headed out onto the stage first and you were wondering where Harry was, until you felt it. Him behind you wrapping his arms around you. 

“I love you,” he whispered. 

“I love you, too,” you smiled. “Now, get out there and bring this place down.” 

He smirked giving you a quick peck on the lips before also making sure to get a little tap on your ass before heading out onto the stage.

The show was absolutely amazing. He killed every single song and everyone was living for it. You were beyond proud of him and could see how happy he was to be on stage performing the very songs he had spent the last year pouring his heart out into. You were so happy that you were able to be there in support of him. You couldn’t imagine being anywhere else. 

After the show, there was a mini after party backstage with everyone. Celebratory drinks were had and speeches were made. Emotions were all over the place and so were everyone’s praises. However, the one thing Harry could’t wait for was celebrating with you. Yes, he loved celebrating with his friends and his mum, but he just wanted to be with you. 

A few hours after the show, you two were back at his house and it was super late or early depending upon how you wanted to look at it. You knew Harry would be going back to London at the end of the weekend and you weren’t sure when you’d get to see him next until after Christmas. 

As soon as you walked into the house after Harry unlocked the door, you felt your boyfriend playfully pick you up and throw you over his shoulder. 

“What are you doing?” you giggled. 

“Taking my girlfriend to bed,” he smirked. 

“Good, I’m like really exhausted,” you said. “I can’t wait to get in my pajamas and cuddle up under a blanket and fall asleep.” 

He whined, “Do you really want to do that?” 

“It’s not like I have any other options,” you smirked. 

“Yes, you do,” he said walking into the room. 

“Like what?” You scoffed. 

He smirked dropping you onto the bed, “Making sweet, hot, amazing, mind-blowing love with your boyfriend.” 

“Hm, tempting,” you said. “But do you really think you got what it takes? You seemed to use a lot of your stamina out on that stage. I would hate for you to fall asleep half way there.” 

“Oh, you’re going to wish you didn’t say that,” he smirked kissing you. 

You wrapped your arms around his neck deepening the kiss. His hands were at your sides, tugging on your shirt before pulling it over your head. He kissed down your neck, your collarbone, and the skin poking out from your bra. Your placed your fingers on the remaining buttons of his shirt before pushing the fabric down shoulders. 

“You were so fucking hot tonight,” you whispered against his lips causing him to smirk. 

“I could say the same to you,” he said. “Your ass looked amazing in these.”

He ran his hands along your legs before pulling on the fake leather fabric until the were off. You sat up on the bed unbuckling his belt and pushing his trousers down. You kissed a trail of kisses up his stomach to his chest and neck before finding his lips again. He didn’t hesitate in deepening the kiss and you didn’t waste any time before wrapping your hand around him. 

“Fuck,” he half groaned, half moaned against your lips. 

You smirked moving your hand slowly as you looked up at him. He brought his hands to the back of your bra trying his best to unclasp it. 

“Bloody hell,” he mumbled. “What the fuck is wrong with this.” 

“The clasp is the in the front,” you giggled removing your hand from him. 

You unsnapped it and took off your bra. He brought his lips down to meet yours  as he took your naked chest into his hands. You moaned into the kiss pulling on his hair. Over the next few minutes, he gave proper attention to your chest with both his hands and his mouth. You could feel yourself dripped onto the fabric of your underwear. 

He pulled it down leaving you both completely naked. He reached over taking a condom from the box on the table. You smirked taking it out of his hand and pushing him back on the bed. He looked at you curiously as he watched you lean down running your tongue alongside him. 

“Fuck me,” he groaned. 

You smirked mimicking the same movement a few times before taking him in your mouth. The loudest gasp left his lips as he watched you move slowly up and down. You stared at him the entire time and just when you could tell he was about to finish, you stopped what you were doing and opened the wrapper. 

“Why did you stop?” He whined. 

You ignored him, sliding on the condom before straddling him. Both of you moaned at the contact and you stayed there not moving for a bit. His place his hands on your hips, gripping them as you moved achingly slow on top of him. 

You made sure to take your time and then speed up every so often before holding back again. You could tell he was getting both turned on even more and annoyed. You pressed your lips against him and he sat up holding you close to him as he matched your movements. When he took your chest in his mouth once again, you groaned throwing your head back. 

After a while, he could tell you were getting tired, so he flipped you over onto your back. You wrapped your legs around his waist and quickened and hardened his movements. Both of you were covered in sweat and you heart rates were quite elevated. You gripped onto his shoulders as you felt your body started to tense up from the pleasure it was experience. 

He brought his thumb down to your center and whispered in your ear as he kissed your neck. It didn’t take long before you let yourself go and the after feeling you around him, he followed soon after. You both stayed like that a few moments, catching your breaths. You smiled pushing his hair from his face pecking his lips before he rolled off of you. 

When you came back from the bathroom, you got back into the bed, where he wrapped his arms around you. You smiled when he kissed your head as you played with his necklaces in between your fingers. 

“I love you,” you whispered looking up at him. “And I’m really proud of you.” 

“Why? Because I lasted longer than two minutes?” He joked. 

“Well, yeah, “ you joked. “But I meant today... this week in general.” 

“Thank you, baby,” he whispered running his fingers over your back. 

“When’s your flight back to London?” You whispered. 

“Sunday Morning,” he sighed. 

You nodded, “So, I guess we won’t see each other again until after Christmas?” 

“Actually,” he said. “I was uh, I was wondering if you would want to come to London with me this next week. I know it’s the week before Christmas, but I was thinking, now that we’re together, we could finish crossing some things off your Christmas List together. Plus, I’ve got another show in London next week, and we can deliver all those presents we wrapped to the Children’s hospital.” 

You smiled, “Really? I’d love that.” 

“Does that mean you’re coming with me?” He asked. 

You turned over onto your stomach so you were facing him, “It does. Luckily, I don’t have anything schedule this week and I’m not supposed to be at my parents until the weekend before. And I’m not quite ready to give you up for a few days just yet.” 

He smirked, “Me either,” he said. 

“Now, let’s get back to the real business,” you smirked. “Think you got another round in you?” 

“For you, I’ve got the whole fucking night,” he smirked rolling over onto you and pressing his lips against yours.

“Happy release day everyone, exciting stuff!”

Too right Louis! Kill My Mind is out and it's awesome and the world is all over it, hell yeah. KMM hit the charts high and climbed all day, hitting #2 on iTunes and getting great press, with LTHQ going hard on the global focus.

He did the first of many radio appearances, notably the Indie House Party spot, genuinely the Louis interview of DREAMS, a full hour of real music talk and respect and Louis just relaxing and talking about what he loves with someone knowledgeable and smart who takes him seriously as an artist, I'm... overwhelmed. And Louis playing music for us? Please just give Louis his own radio show I want this content always! He also did an earlier show, played the rom com game, fun stuff but no room to get into it sorry highlights below. The Notebook still isn't a rom com though, where's the comedy? Someone needs to talk to him and Harry about that.

MTV calls KMM "bigger slicker and rockier than anything he's ever done", and talks about his note of intention, Rolling Stone published a write up and tweeted about the song (as does Rob Sheffield, "KMM is the No Control sequel I did know I needed"), iHeart says "think LBD and No Control vibes with an Oasis twist," Euphoria calls the song "a new age Britpop banger that'll shine even brighter in a live setting" and Louis "your new Britpop icon," he got a twitter moment, Power Radio UK is gonna play the song hourly all weekend, and the Comic Relief breakfast footage is finally dropping, teased today and out tomorrow.

Louis says the song is about experimenting when you're young, fun nostalgia, and looking back at being juvenile. He says it can be read as being about a toxic relationship but mostly that it's about going through an experimental phase in your youth and doing things that might not be good for you but are exciting, about "... uh... being naughty" (it's at least in part about drugs like yeah I'm saying it. It is and you know it, fight me, and also who cares, it's not a big deal.) He says, "the next few songs I have coming out represent me as an artist," "this is the most comfortable I've felt musically," "this is the vibe from now on," about the song being loud and in your face, "as promised!" and that he is "proud and excited"- yeah! Us too!!

He thanks the fans more times and in more ways than I can count but yeah bunches of tweets, radio mentions ("they're smart yeah?" *taps head cutely*), re: the fan project of a BILLBOARD IN TIMES SQUARE (can you believe?!) he says, “so fucking incredible,” he did a thank you video, and a final tweet to finish out the day "even if I don’t always see you all I feel your presence and your backing" and signed off by saying fuck fandom factions with his emphasis on how much he loves ALL his fans.

An Arista release about KMM calls TOU “the first single off (Louis') album” and Louis said today that he wouldn't be playing Miss You in Madrid- he said he will play five new songs not counting KMM yiiiikkkes and OMG. He says he will be covering one of the songs he deleted on the radio show keep or delete game! (But not the Arctic Monkeys one so that narrows it down to what like three? My money's on the Libertines) (FYI I hope yall know I'm taking that day off just getting that out there now.) About the 1D ten year anniversary he says, "we should do something for that." And yeah what about those guys? Let's be real, we need a special section for this; he's talking about Harry. He's saying his name and casually talking about communicating with him! Asked about being in touch with the boys- he said he "saw Liam most recently," that he talks to him on the phone, that he hung out with Niall at Glastonbury, in fact he really gets into specifics and details for them both, exactly when and where, and then he says he hasn't seen Harry in "a while" but "I've been in contact with him recently, it's proper nice. Proper nice." Okay okay... by nighttime radio slots we had progressed to chatting about Harry's hair. He's asked about Harry's new haircut looking like his and he says, "I'll be telling him that yeah," and later, "I'll be sending Harry a text about his hair." Listen NBD right ....unless maybe you've been force fed a narrative of them not even being friends anymore for years. So are we seeing an end to that nonsense? HELL YEAH bring it on! A good start, KMM cowriter Jamie Hartman casually dropping the factoid that KMM was recorded at Shangri La, yes, the same studio where Harry was holed up to taking all those shrooms and recording HS2. Louis also named Japan as where he'd most like to go on tour, lol. Not mentioned once today: Eleanor or Freddie. I mean why would you mention your girlfriend during a whole radio segment about rom coms and romance amiright? Mhmm. I'm not saying we've heard the last of them but it definitely wasn't a focus today.

The lyric video exists and is cool and I don't have time for it but it shows him dressed as Liam Gallagher onstage, cute, and tells the story of a couple meeting at a Louis show and in the end smooching by a, uh, lighthouse. Maybe we'll have time for video analysis in full by the weekend? Let's go girls!

Finally, when promo was done for the day he parked himself on twitter to see what was up- he responded to a fan teasing about the Real Madrid shirt- “beaut shirt tho.” It was beautiful, the rainbow especially. He defended his height, ("to be fair he's a tall fucker"), says he liked Florence and the Machine, thanked Rolling Stone and various others and a few other things.

1. Shiny Happy People by REM:   This is my all time favorite song. Literally been listening to this since I was 4 and my go to song whenever I am sad or happy. This song makes me verry emotional. 

2. Homecoming by BOND: I wish more and more people knew about BOND. sure they mainly do cover songs with electric violins but they are just so awesome!! Tho If you watched Good Omens you might have heard their newest song! Homecoming is my absolutely favorite song of theirs as I had so many random adventures (in my head lol) with this song. I believe when I was younger I’ve played this song on iTunes over 300 times. 

3. Jukebox Hero by Foreigner: Lou Gramm. UGH him and this song is (for me) the epitome of the 80′s. I love all the songs of Foreigner but Jukebox hero always gets me pumped up (and kinda reminds me of magnus 030 ) 

4. Know Me by Marshmello:  ANYONE that knows me personally knows I am OBSESSED with Marshmello. I’ve met him twice and been to all his LA concerts. My ringtone is this Lalapalooza remix where he says Mello gang instead of marshmello :P His music always bring joy and happiness I’ve never had anything negative about him to say lol Know me kinda reflects my personality and one the first songs I love when I first found out about him/

5. When I watch the World burn all I can think about is you (Demo Ver.) by Bastille: TBH I first fell in love with Bastille with Happier (a song they and Marshmello made together) I went to their one of their concert where they first perfomed the song (Happier) live and fell in love with the band!! At the concert I met a group of lovely people who I still talk to this day. We have been to several more concerts together. We even saw them 3 TIMES in one day. First was a private radio concert, then a vip pre show concert before the actual concert. Tho this song make great inspiration to write.

6. Upside down (bouncing off the ceiling) By A*teens: DUDE A*teens were a HUGE part of my childhood with Teen Spirit probably being the biggest album during that time (at least where i lived everyone at my school KNEW of the album and was a huge hit) The song is catchy and definitely brings back my childhood innocence. Sadly never saw them in concert :/ 

7. Big time rush (theme) by BTR: Ahh ah ahh ahhhhhhh! As much as I love BTB nad N*sync BTR was MY boy band in my teen years. This show helped me and my sister get along and they CAME TO MY HOME TOWN for a concert!! I didn’t have to drive (well at the time my parents) To LA or San Diego.. they were playing in the OC!! I was so lucky to see them in concert. Seriously the best theme song ever. 

8. Running by No Doubt: No doubt and Gwen Stafani were a HUGE part of my time growing up. A fellow Orange County girl, I was so proud to grow up in the same city/area as Gwen. The video running was shot at Laguna Beach which I’ve been to millions of times .3. My mom always loved this song and still does. Reminds me of all the car rides I had while listening to this song. 

9. Electro World by PERFUME: I will always bee a weeb at heart. Though PERFUME was my expose to Jpop/jrock/jelectronic outside the OP and ED anime artist, I would always try to sing along though I had no clue what they were saying Electro world has a special place in my heart. Even learned the dance by heart. Sooo sad I wasn’t able to see them at coachella last year! T_T

10. Random Access Memory by Daft Punk: As a Robosexual I couldn’t leave my boys out of this list. The whole album of RAM is just a funkadelic trip of good soulful music. I would listen to the entire album on road trips, plane trips or just for fun. I have a lot of wonderful RAM with this album. If hot chocolate can warm the heart then RAM is the music equivalent.

That may not sound special to you but I can’t negate the magic of just chilling out and vibing to a whole album in this day and age. There’s no algorithms feeding you stuff. Not much to customize. It ignores playlists, all the other things about streaming services they want you to buy into, it clears the noise and presents just the albums in your library on your service, for you to listen to, in their entirety plus a host of complementary features!

Remember the original iTunes music app on your first iPhone? Remember how you’d turn it sideways and it would show you your music in a grid view? This app seeks to sort of recreate that experience as well.

I love finding new music apps to nerd out with. If you’re reading this as a redirect from my Twitter then you know how much I love Marvis Pro. It’s my number 1 favourite music app. I gush about it all the time. It has reconnected me with music in a way I haven’t experienced since the introduction of streaming services.

This is a beautiful addition to the cannon of apps that seek to provide a unique music engagement experience.

My fave feature off this new app is the fact that they go into the past and show you the albums that were released on this day numerous years ago.

I’m currently listening to one of my favourite Joni Mitchell albums The Hissing of Summer Lawns, which came out on November 1st in 1975. It’s a truly beautiful record. Peep the app’s layout tho:
