Thank you for the tag :)
Uhhh let's see. Okay easy
1. The pixar movie Cars (2006). Not even the trilogy I could talk about the movie Cars forever. Me and several of my friends sat down and watched the trilogy and got really deep into the religious aspects and consequences of both a car Pope and when Mac uses the term "Thank the Manufacturer!". But seriously there's some interesting stuff. It relates to Homestuck somehow. It's also a Hallmark movie but I digress.
2. Five nights at Freddy's. Listen I grew up with/ as the series came out, and if someone sat me down and explained the current, up to date lore my head would explode. But I COULD tell you what my perspective of the lore is as someone who's grown with it and has made their own personal opinions/retcons on it.
3. Yu-Gi-Oh. Only first gen sorry. I grew up on it, know most of the series one lore outside of the specifics of season 5. The way the show makes and breaks it's own rules, and the way the show is so so far from today's playing rules for the card game is ASTOUNDING. But mostly the characters, I think there's some REALLY interesting lore/relationship shit going on that fully envelope me every time during the yearly Yugioh hyperfixation week.
4. Call of duty. Listen I don't do a lot of call of duty stuff, I'm not huge into all the games outside of Black Ops Cold War, but I fucking love the reboot Modern Warfare 2 and I have some really strong opinions on why story wise it became so popular. If you want people to give a shit about your characters, you have GOT to give them TIME with those characters. Also might get sniped for this but black ops 6 having "bosses" where you had to chip at a fucking health bar belongs in exactly ZERO call of duty games. Not sorry. It works if it's a tank, not an armored guard.
5. Fandom culture. Especially on places like AO3. There's a really really strange gap between how much people love their fanfiction/"need it to survive" versus how many people give kudos or COMMENT. I comment on nearly every fic I read. Several paragraphs worth on ones I love. Respect your authors work, and THANK THEM. It can be as simple as a "I loved x part!" Or "Thank you for writing!"
I tag @dwinjohnsel, @velcrooooo, @merthur-phandom, @folkloricstranger , and @bugwatcher6000 :)
Rules: List five topics you can talk about for an hour without preparing any material, and tag five people!
doctor who. boy can i talk about doctor who
the reformation and late medieval/early modern history more broadly
the edge chronicles
the peter o'toole henry ii cinematic universe
douglas adams' books

I’ve said this on twitter but I’ll say it here, Jane and Jake became incredibly dislikable later in homestuck because they are the most openly flawed (excepting vriska) and it means the homestuck fandom has to think twice about them to understan, which the homestuck fandom doesn't want to do.
Majority don’t get Jane because they’ve never been in a strict but loving family that endows you with values you find incredibly hard to let go of. You wouldn’t get it.
Jane resonates more with people from incredibly strict religious families or conservative families, individuals who are genuinely nice but trapped because of the world views they grew up consuming and the struggle to break out of them. Stop saying she’s boring.
Also something that pisses me off a little is how people hold up the “i liked you better when you were drunk” as a reason to hate jane, and don’t consider the context at all.
Yes she did say that, it was insensitive and out of line for her to do so, however she immediately apologizes. You have to consider it from Janes shoes.
You’ve been dealing with a friend that has taken advantage of your good merits you were pressured into to vent about his significant other rather than communicate to him himself. You finally snap and give him the rightful fuck off that he needs, and tell your best friend.
This best friend decides to hint that they might romantically pursue him because you don’t care anymore, an incredibly insensitive move to try to lighten your mood. So you call her out and because you’re still at your limit you make a bad call, which you’re immediately called out for and immediately apologise.
Janes response was reasonable. She is a teen girl who has lost so much to a game she was so excited to play, and not just that, can’t be taken seriously by her friends as an actual person. And yet the fandom continues to give her flack for it.

Desynced
So I really like Desynced.
Strictly speaking, it doesn't 100% fit what I was talking about in my Homestuck manifesto, since it's technically a Homestuck fan adventure rather than a brand new work.
However…for a fanwork, it feels more like a new piece of Homestuckian art than many others I've seen?
I'm reminded of an old Hussie formspring response, where the question was about what would happen if siblings living in the same house played SBURB. Hussie's response was that one shouldn't try to solve this with the rules of Homestuck, but instead imagine the kind of story and plot that would suit such a scenario.
Desynced is like that - playing by its own rules. A lot of other fan adventures feel too stuck (ha) in adhering to the rules of SBURB and Paradox Space. Desynced is quite literally playing an entirely different game. It lets go of so much about the way a fan story is traditionally conceived, and brings in its own set of laws and ideas that fit its own story better.
Some things I like, in no particular order:
-The depiction of parents and children - Desynced knocks this out of the park by splitting the difference between faceless authority figures and relatable kids by playing with perception and letting the parents talk to each other as adults, even when they're faceless to their kids. There is some really phenomenal parent-child content here. The relationship between Kate and her father, for instance, is fraught and filled with missed conversations that break my heart
-That in 2024, everybody in the main group gets to be queer and trans from the very start
-That the protagonist kids are Zoomers, and we see that their interests tend not toward 80s movies but things like Minecraft and Discord chats
-That we seem to be building towards a "war in heaven" theme, where different members of the future gods and Carapacians will take different sides in a cosmic struggle
-The music, which is full of bangers and feels like the sequel to the Homestuck bandcamp page that I never knew I needed
-The total reimagining of Jack Noir, which seems like it shouldn't work, but totally does
-The genius way that the game's equivalent of Denizens tie into weird cosmic mysteries
-Alien kids who appear at first glance to be trolls but are quickly revealed to not be trolls at all (maybe they're tieflings)
-The way in this universe, Trollsonas only exist in connection to an obscure game called Hiveswap
-The fact that the fantasy land inhabitants, the equivalent of consorts, are more fleshed out and have their own lives going on instead of just being silly animals - which hints that we're taking 'their existence more seriously and sincerely.
-That when Desynced does "play the Homestuck hits," it reminds you of how good those narrative structures are. Examples include:
Ordinary internet friend group discovers they are all interconnected and inveigled in a vast conspiracy
Making sense of the rules of a confusing alternate gamey-reality that suggests a sense of purpose but doesn't give you instructions for achieving it
Oh, and also, you have to do this while the world is ending and you're about to die
Villain narrator makes fun of you, the reader
Alien kids interrupt your game session to ramble at you about how they know much more about the game than you do, but it turns out they're just a tiny bit ahead and they're as confused about most things as you are
Ascending to godhood helps you redefine your identity but also causes as many problems as it solves
It's like, woah, Homestuck was really cooking, wasn't it?
We're all so used to the Homestuck plot structures and conventions that I think it's very easy to lose sight of why we fell in love with it in the first place. Reading Desynced made me remember how much I love the premise of Homestuck. Desynced achieves this by detaching from convention and focusing on Homestuck's themes: parent-child relationships, the limitations of one's ideology, the double-edged sword of finding identity in fantasy, and more.
So yes, Desynced is a Homestuck fanwork. But if we're asking where a Homestuck literary movement might go in the future, Desynched offers us a really neat glimpse of part of the answer.
I highly recommend checking it out, if you're interested.

HiIII II min, what are you reading/watching/listening to at the moment, i need recs
QUITE A LOT. i am reading and watching and playing and listening to. A LOT. I'm kind of astounded that I'm actually doing all this at once, but here we go -
Books:
Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov - y'all already know what this one is about. I'm here to tell you that it's brilliantly done with a genuinely engaging writing voice and style, and a terrifyingly good unreliable narrator. If you're up to stomaching the obvious pedophilia, I fully recommend it.
Moby Dick by Herman Melville - slightly racist biologically inaccurate whale hunting. For people who know nothing about whales. I've been on a classics kick recently, I'm trying to get my way through a lot of the big 'classic' books and this is what feels like the final boss. It's good, but it's dense as all fuck, and I'm struggling despite being very close to the end with it. I don't recommend this one quite as much, but it's good enough for me to stick with it.
Sacred and Terrible Air by Robert Kurvitz - this is the Disco Elysium novel, translated from Estonian by a variety of lovely people. It's good, but it's also pretty dense - maybe not as much as Moby Dick, but it makes it hard to read in large chunks. I'm reading it alongside my beloved @lifewithoutrainydays, and i really need to put more time into it.
S. by Doug Dorst - fucking fascinating book. It's presented as a book called 'Ship of Theseus' by an author that doesn't exist, and it looks and feels like an actual old library book, complete with scribblings in the margins (that form a whole other meta story on top of the book itself), postcards and printouts jammed in between the pages, and an old library label on the spine. Still trying to figure out how to read it, but plucking away at it in-between all my other endeavors.
Our Bloody Pearl by D.N. Bryn - a.k.a., me trying to step out of my comfort zone and read some recommendations, and not quite clicking with it. Found family pirate-siren trauma-recovery story. I like the things being done with communication difficulties, but on the whole it feels a bit too fanfiction-y, which is not something I tend to like in my original fiction. I'd recommend it if you're a fan of that sort of thing, though!
Comics:
Awful Hospital: Seriously the Worst Ever by Bogleech - the author says they've never read Homestuck. I don't know if I believe them. A glorious gruesome surreal hellish trip through a very very bad hospital, seriously the worst ever, and beyond! I'm pretty early on but enjoying the fuck out of it. I don't know where it's going and I'm scared to find out.
Doctor Strange: Fall Sunrise by Tradd Moore - I read this ages ago, but finally have it in printed edition, and that rules because everything about this FUCKS SEVERELY. the art style is unhinged and brilliant, the writing is weird and beautiful, and the plot is........ the weirdest thing Doctor Strange comics have ever done since Into Shamballa, actually. i'm taking it slow this time because i want to savor every panel.
The Apothecary Diaries (manga edition) - this has been on pause for a bit, because everything else I was reading distracted me, but it's good and it's open in another tab right now, so I'll include it. Murder mysteries in an ancient Chinese court, starring the weirdest poison-obsessed apothecary girl who has ever existed. She poisons herself for fun and gets excited over particularly deadly toxins, I love her to death.
Games:
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - I loved the books and the show, so I figured it was about time to actually play the games. I'm a tiny bit addicted to it at this point. It's a good fucking game. I like killing monsters and I like playing Fantasy Magic The Gathering and i really really like the battle music. I'm 100%ing this one or I'm dying in the process.
Lobotomy Corporation - has fallen a bit by the wayside because of the Witcher, whoops, but I do fully intend to get back to it at some point. I know there's some less-than-great stuff going on vis-a-vis the creators, but I'm not really engaging on that level. I'm just enjoying it as an SCP-like creature-management simulator. There's some very fun anomalies with very fun writeups in this one, and I enjoy the mental challenge of figuring out what makes them all tick.
Listening to:
Critical Role, Campaign Three - I'm not utterly obsessed with it, but it's a nice long chunk of listening for me to get my evening routine done to the sound of.
And on my podcast 'I'm all caught up, but I regularly listen when new episodes come out' list are: The Magnus Protocol, Dungeons and Daddies, The Adventure Zone, and Apocrypals.
Watching:
The X-Files - all of it, start-to-finish, because I have somehow managed to avoid all spoilers of a sci-fi cultural touchstone all this time, and I'm really looking forward to seeing where this goes. I love some fucked-up monster-of-the-week sci-fi.

One more thought about the note Desolation plays: I really like that John briefly takes his disguise off for this page. I think it works really well as an encapsulation of what this page, Homestuck's title page, represents.
Homestuck is a deeply silly series. It also goes to some genuinely heart-wrenching emotional places and isn't afraid to intertwine its silliness with seriousness when it needs to. However, the first 81 pages of Homestuck are more or less exclusively silly. The plot hasn't properly started yet. It's just John dicking around in his room and trying to get his hands on a video game as the readers make suggestions for what he does. It's jokes!
It's just jokes, but the whole time, once you're looking back having read further in, you know that there's a story about the end of the world lurking in the wings and waiting to start at any moment. And this page serves as our first little glimpse of that.
The note Desolation plays page is serious enough that it can't help but mock itself, purposely misattributing a quote as a callback joke and leaning hard into overly melodramatic prose. Its seriousness is itself a gag, but the page is also a very real first gesture toward story's deeper themes and John's sense of Absence.
John screws around for 81 pages and puts on silly costumes, and then for one page, the page that serves as our title sequence and a first gesture toward Homestuck as a larger story, he stops. He takes off the goofy disguise and looks, as his honest self, up at the desolate loneliness around him. For just a moment the story is allowed to be real and haunting and unsettled, and John becomes very small and human as the camera pulls away from him.
And then the very next page, John is instantly back in the beaglepuss and the narration is prompting him to take a shit in the mailbox, because we cannot possibly be serious or sincere for too long so early in the comic.
Leaning into anything too heavy at this point for more than an instant would give the whole game away, but for just a moment, in the hauntingly empty animation that serves as our title page, the silly disguise comes down and we get a hint of what's coming for us.
#not that homestuck's silliness is a disguise per se#the silliness is an inherent and essential part of what it is#but it's deeply intertwined with very sincere seriousness as the story moves further along#homestuck#english major hours#john egbert#homestuckposting#homestuck 82#andie rereads homestuck#ID in alt text

can you make a list of your top indie horror game recs ::3
yeah! so these wont be in order of what i like the most, they're just going to be here in whatever order I think of them. i'm also trying to go with what I think are more lesser-known ones, and if one is more popular it'll because I think it's one people write off that are actually good. as i'm writing this i'm going back up to say the descriptions for these will become less detailed because i got tired and cant keep repeating the art!! the atmosphere!!
Scarlet Hollow: A heavily choice-based horror mystery visual novel about going back to Scarlet Hollow- a small town in south historically ran by your family- for the funeral of your late aunt. its episodic and there are currently only 4 of the 7 episodes out. even with just them it is my favorite game. I love the writing and the art and the whole atmosphere of the game AND the soundtrack brought Brandon Boone (the composer) into my top 5 artists in my spotify wrapped last year
Slay the Princess: Another choice-based horror visual novel (and dating sim!) by the creators of Scarlet Hollow where you are tasked with, well, slaying the princess to prevent the destruction of the entire world. It's only a demo right now-releasing q3 of this year- but I'm excited for the whole game! my selling point for it with my followers is that the narrator (and some other characters) are voiced by Jonny Sims and hey podcast fans you like him check out this game
Endacopia: A click and point horror game inspired by Humongous Entertainment games such as Pajama Sam. Currently also a demo and set to release in October of 2024, I can not emphasize enough how excited I am for it. The game's style is so fun and there's lots of little details and the music??? There's two musical numbers in the demo alone. Some of the style and writing also reminds me of Undertale and even Homestuck somewhat (I say as someone who hasn't read homestuck)
FAITH: The Unholy Trinity: This is an 8-bit style horror game inspired by the 1980s Satanic Scare coming in 3 chapters with multiple endings, a very good example of games not needing high-end realistic graphics to be scary
Doki Doki Literature Club: Glances at my icon. who could've seen this one coming. I feel like most people know about ddlc by now, even if they don't know anything past "horror anime dating sim". It starts off for a long while a seemingly normal, if bland, visual novel dating sim until-seemingly suddenly- twisting into psychological horror. There's, however, a lot of foreshadowing once you see the beginning again after knowing what will happen. Honestly I think this games brilliant and its such a shame it somehow got lumped in with "cringe" mascot horror (its not even a mascot horror game?). For me a lot of the horror comes from the amount of scares left up to a random percentage- and how subtle a lot of them are. You can replay it and have a fairly different experience than you did the first time- and be scared by completely new things. There's also this existential and cosmic horror element that is less one you experience while playing it, i think, and more thinking about it afterwards. This isn't even touching on a lot of the secrets and easter eggs. a few years after the original game came out, Doki Doki Literature Club Plus was released, and it leaves the og game experience essentially untouched while adding a new vn experience the length of the og game (thats seemingly horror-less) as well as some more lore to the world, not of the game, but around the game, and builds more on the existential/cosmic horror. Needless to say from the length of this, I adore this game. also take the content warnings seriously, in the (free) og the game opens with warnings and a link to a page with specific tws, and in ddlc+ you are given the options to see those warnings listed before starting the game, as well as the ability to turn on tw pop-ups before game events
Home Safety Hotline: Also currently a demo, a horror game where you work for a home safety hotline, answering calls to help people deal with pests and other household problems. as the game progresses you get some more... off-putting calls and access to more unusual problems. I love games that put you into the role of someone who works a mundane job dealing with horrifying shit (similar reasoning to why I like the I'm On Observation Duty games, which I think are more popular rn than I want to put on this list)
NiGHT SIGNAL: By the same creator of Home Safety Hotline, this one's a short one about getting a new tv set and finding some strange channels during the night, inspired by The Twilight Zone and a 1995 game, The Dark Eye. A lot of the art in the game is done with clay which creates this really nice uncanny look and atmosphere- details about which you can see in an artbook you unlock after playing the game, which is REALLY cool I adore seeing the creativity behind and what goes into games like these.
and there's a bunch more I like, these are just the ones off the top of my head and I also dont feel like typing a bunch more dfnafnsk I'll also say if yall haves one you really like that I havent mentioned feel free to send an ask talking about them
#ask#anonymous#I'll ramble off a few more um#WATER WOMB WORLD is really good but I think a lot off ppl know Yames's games. Darkness Under My Bed I haven't played myself or seen too#too much of but I loved what I saw. Cooking Companions I played the demo and enjoyed but I havent played the full game though I plan on#doing so. Future Racer 2000. Cave Crawler. The Missing Parts of Maria Gwozdek. Out of Hands I've also only seen part of but I think slays#long post#I also have a BUNCH of itch horror game pages bookmarked to play

A little bit of Homestuck sketching. This is my bf in Homestuck style. I used some poses from found fanarts so I don't really feel like it's my trully art, but I still want to share :)
I will also drew myself as a god tier and as a troll, I mean, I will when I finally decide what class I am xd
Oh, yeah, you probably need some explaination
This is Rafał, my bf. He's Rogue of Light (according to test on the internet) and he's olive blood as a troll (ac according to extended zodiac signs test he's Lepio). He has a stolen void dagger as a weapon which can steal opponents luck and some other stats and a rulebook that let him steal the opponents strategy or style of fighting, knowledge of how to use their weapon and similar stuff like that. He's very smartass, he knows exactly how to use game rules against others (no, like seriously, he studies law and he's master of every boardgame he touches. He loves reading instructions and playing rpg. When asked about his classpect he asked "what Vriska has? I want what she has" and I told him that no, he had to do the test, and the test said hes Rogue of Life and he was like "No! I want to be like Vriska!" So we both agreed he's Rogue of Light. Lmao)
If I would have to give his trollsona a surname... It would be probably Chayah. Rafael Chayah. Yeah, I think that sounds neat
#homestuck#rogue of light#yes my bfs name is Rafał#i shouldve probably erased the name but i forgot and now im too lazy to do that#trollsona#my bfs trollsona :D#my bf <3#classpect#my drawings#oliveblood#vriska serket#homestuck vriska

Tagged here by @bakersfield-row! thanks for the tag:
Are you named after anyone? In IRL, no. Kaia is a two-letter shortening of Kanaya the homestuck troll
When was the last time you cried? Fully cried, march 2020. I teared up a little earlier this month listening to an episode of friends at the table (spring in hieron the one with Tell Me)
Do you have kids? Nope. Not opposed to it in the longterm but i have enough trouble w/ managing myself currently.
Do you use sarcasm a lot? i honestly have no clue. do i?? it feels like it depends on context.
What sports do you play/have played? I play volleyball and I like distance running. I did fencing for a while pre-high-school but never took it seriously.
What’s the first thing you notice about people? man idk. superficial details. hair color. gender presentation. the one thing i apparently *dont* notice is height, and my internal idea of how tall people are is off by 5+ inches in either direction.
What's your eye color? Green.
Scary movies or happy endings? I'm a wuss for actual horror it needs to be something I'm bullied into. but i do love tragedy
Any special talents? I pride myself on knowing the secret techniques to making sandballs (like snowballs but of sand) that are hard as rock, extremely large, and perfectly round. i am banned from throwing them at people (or at least i was banned when i was 12. haven't checked in with the parents to see if im allowed now...)
Where were you born? California
What are your hobbies? right now, it's volleyball, poi spinning, and go (board game). I also really like podcasts/youtube series and keep up with far too many of them. this fucking site probably counts unfortunately.
Do you have pets? The family has two dogs, but they're far away. (i miss them!)
How tall are you? 5'9" or something?
Favorite subject in school? In high school, I liked math. In college, I really enjoyed my English humanities and the theoretical CS classes (computability/complexity/algorithms stuff)
Dream job? I think it'd be cool to go to grad school and do R&D stuff about computer graphics or some other aspect of CS. sometimes i am like alright what if i hard-pivoted to astrophysics but i think that ship has sailed
If you're interested, tagging @thealleycat, @gemsweater72, @boot2004, and @ballofstress9 (no pressure to if you don't want to!)

Welp I'm binging The Sun and Moon Show on this fine 4/13!
So hear have a shit post of an AU idea taken seriously (as a note i just got to where TSAMS is playing the SB Ruin DLC) Sun convenses Moon and Earth to play this new multy player game he has been hyped about the early access release of. SBURB, a new survival craft RPG.
However this game causes the apocalypse via meteors and transports all players to a new dimension. But the game needs a closed loop of server and player installs causing them to have to rope in several characters from the show they really would have preferred not to from Eclipse to Killcode to Monty.
And at this point I'm sure many of you are wanting to hunt me for sport as this is 100% a Homestuck AU
And the best part? Homestuck as a comic exists in there wold but none of the characters who get involved have read it and they find this all out lator after everything is going to shit
And it would be a viable game of Sburb which means they have to merge each characters kernel sprite twice Probs most are going to godteir. (Moon is Knight of Space probs, Sun strikes me as Heart, Eclipse as Seer of Doom? Not sure for Monty maybe time? Luner's probs light? Maybe Space? Feels like he would get prince to. Earth strikes me as Life. KillCode feels like Blood but i need to brush up on my classes and aspects) There will by a Skaia they each get a world (Id have to think harder on this one for good ones, but Luner gets the 'land of Beans and Bags')
There's a Prospit and Derse. And thus dream selves. Not sure who would go whare beyond Earth in Prospit and Sun too probs.
Feel free to reblog with thoughts on who would have what. But please I am still catching up on TSAMS so i would love a spoiler tag for anything past Sun is SAVED by Moon!? in VRCHAT Past the read more is quips
Monty: Okay so I'm still not finished building Luner and we gotta fuse this sprite thing with something dead so I'm gonna throw him in there Moon: Monty no this is a horrible idea Monty: alieoop *throws Luner into kernel sprite giving us LunerSprite* Earth: Moon we have a problem Moon: whats going on? Earth: well it the Star turned into a frog and hopped away and I'm afraid to look at it for any length of time as it is flashing colors at a rate witch can trigger photosensitive problems
Eclipse looking at Sun: you killed me once now do it again!!! Sun: yah but this time its specifically to make you stronger!! Eclipse: well i killed you on your quest bed so you should return the favor
The Gamzee shop keeper joke but its Monty
Luner: na its okay hes only stabbing me a little and I'm made of mettle Sun: hes stabbing you a lot right now Jack Noir repeatedly stabbing Luner

A Luminous Update
If you want to request Luminous Kingdom ponies (or Lumens as they are called), you may let me know!
I do use it to make ponies as well after all! It'd be rude of me to say that and not show them all off at once, right?
...Yes this is my excuse for leaving the blog high and dry. Nobody's been requesting stuff, and that's my own fault! I need to promote everything more.
Anyways! Clicking on Read More will start you with OC's, and then go from there into the best ponies I've made (in my opinion)!
Just a fair warning, since this was a spur of the moment, the images are blurry due to resizing them using a website. In the future, I'll screenshot the Lumen's instead!
Loveli | Mascot | "Well, she lives on. From being scrapped, to losing her own show, she's gone through a lot. Now she :) because she has balloons. Balloons tend to make everyone happy, especially if its free balloon day!"
Sally Seaslug | Aria's Fruit Farm | "Nobody expected her to show up! Well, she only exists on Luminous Kingdom. And that's purely because it has antennae, when Ponytown doesn't! ...What? Don't look at me! I'm not one to describe an obscure OC!"
Ingenua | DWTD OC | "Seriously, why did I name her Zika? That is not the Dumb Ways to Die naming convention! Anyways, you should never skip practice and wing stuff! Especially if its a competition or the Olympics! Ingenua learnt that the hard way."
Everes Miragi | Homestuck OC | "To be honest, I may redesign her. I'll keep the general concept of her main design, but she's not gonna be a Dancestor to a dead AU version of Die anymore. Ironic, since Everes is from TWO dead AUs, Opposite Felt and the Intermissions Trolls Alt AU."
Celestial Nebula | Original | "If the image wasn't so blurry, this'd be the best one yet! Regardless, I love that Luminous Kingdom has halos! ...You could still do this celestial color-scheme on PonyTown though."
Carmel | TBOI OC | "Not gonna lie, I forgot I made Isaac OC's. Annabelle's been the only OC I've had... aside from The Shadow. Huh. That does give me a new idea for a future Lumen!"
Annabelle Rose | Balan Wonderworld OC | "..."
Tails Doll | Sonic the Hedgehog | "And here's the first of the 'Big 3'! ...He looks way better in motion, trust me. Even if he doesn't move too much in game. I do not play in-game with my Lumens as often I do my Ponies."
Trickster!Diamonds Droog | Homestuck AU | "Remember this AU? Where they gave the Intermissions cast Trickster designs? Disturbing, isn't it? ...I got this design idea from an askblog that starred Diamonds Droog."
Star Man | Mega Man | "Ya'll were probably not expecting me to make a Star Man lumen! ...Or maybe you did, since I do like both his designs. His original and Battle Network design. I'm not really brave enough to make a StarMan.EXE lumen. But yeah! This was also based on someone else's AU. A humanization of Star Man, but I did try to put my own spin on it. You be the judge of how well I did."

Talk about your feelings John's dad. Also something about that urn is so scrungly.
John's dad is so nice wtf, also john you ungrateful little shit I would do ANYTHING for such a big harlequin doll. YOU HEAR ME, ANYTHING!
New angle of John's room! Also this is making me nostalgic for my grungy teenage boy bedroom from high school. I miss that deviant lifestyle.
I genuinely adore when Hussie makes little images like this for a joke. I would love to see what assets he used to make this image. This is so charming.
Man John's dad is so cool, this study is fucking insane. I need to get ahold of that fictional middle class money and get me a study like this.
This is kind of similar to that monocle joke from the last post. Was this style of joke just in fashion at the time or is this going to be a running joke???
Hell yeah, play that haunting refrain white boy. Also cool that we are getting animations with sound this early! Don't know the piece he's playing but it sounds very nice.
What year is this supposed to take place in??? Because it's kind of hilarious that John is so obsessed with slimer if it does take place in like 2010ish. I like to imagine he just knows about the ecto cooler Hi C from internet reviewers referencing it like I did.
Yo title sceen I made it! That's the homerstuck!!! I included the Simpsons clip because that's all I could think the second I saw Walt Whitman mentioned. I'll never be able to take that man seriously.
STRIVE! It was cool to have a little game of fighting dad. Also I'm pretty shocked that dad looks so basic. I'm not gonna lie I was expecting some crazy jester man. Also if dad is making him this huge cake now why did he already have a full cake in his bedroom all day???
WOO! DAD DEFEATED, BETA GET! Also who the hell gets beta access for a game through the physical mail????
That's page 100 though! Join me hopefully tomorrow on my continued journey through Homestuck!

WHOOO KYM 2 COMMENTARY while i stall on working on kym 7
lots to discuss about a chapter literally called 'the exposition' hjgkfsg. if you didnt know, the way ao3 multichap updates works is that you dont necessarily have to title a oneshot chapter but the second you update it, you really get shown the option to title your chapters. so it didnt actually occur to me that i needed names for each one until chapter 2. i believe originally i was going to use a similar system as kyd where every chapter title was a command a la homestuck. however, i wasn't really utilizing the commands in the same way, i didn't really end the previous chapter with one and the plan for the next chapter... technically involves a command but not one i wanted to spoil via the chapter title.
the current naming system came into existence probably 3/4s of the way or more into writing this chapter, once i made the realization that the fic was, in fact, going to be at least five chapters. at this point in time, the plan was the following: the introduction, the exposition, the climax, the ending, the epilogue. this changed even more as time went on and more chapter ideas rudely crammed themselves into my brain, though it helped the structure a lot, because giving me time to fill out the space between exposition and climax made my brain happy HJSKFG
so, moving on, the fun part about chap 2 is that it really establishes the 'narration' as its own living function, something that is vaguely independent of the story rather than just a tool to present the story with, that both voices the author's and the character's thoughts depending on who is grabbing for control. this isn't an aspect i planned when outlining the fic but it's definitely influenced by 1) how much fun i had reading the epilogues and subsequent epilogue flavored fics 2) my desire to find some way to one-up the first chapter despite the topic matter not being nearly as extreme 3) the impulse to add in another experimental element to the story, especially now that the more abstract and poetic style of the first chapter was being removed
it's also incredibly fun to play with, because every time i struggled with describing something or wondered how i could transition from one point to the other, i realized - oh! i can just make the narrator state that very thing. don't know how i'm gonna build up from the end of chap 1 to the narrative goal of chap 2 (rose's mkultra moment)??? let's just get that all out in the open, then! problem SOLVED
it ended up being a hugely fun choice that allowed me to inject some humor into what's otherwise just a big ole pile o' unrelenting angst. it also helped me take myself less seriously, which lent me even more creative freedom than usual, like. GOD. it really helped turn this piece into something so rewarding, it overwhelms me. goddamnit homestuck why do you have to be so good
i just rewatched butterfly effect recently, god. back to the future i've never seen though. time references haha get it cuz his aspect is still time-
speaking of time, this chapter was the first attempt to really try and describe a zeta kid's classpect without coming out and stating it. there's a few interpretations of different phenomena's in homestuck that point out the implication of classpect powers being active before reaching god tier, or even before entering the game (though, usually in a way that is incredibly weak, premature and subtle enough to be missed by the user). one of the strongest examples that i based this chapter on was something the epilogues described: the idea that rose's obsessive writing as a child was based on her light powers feeding her vague visions of her future character arcs and plotlines. i really loved that and wanted a similar sort of plight for dave. i'll go off about what his specific title is at the end of this chapter but it's really fun poking at it now and then
the multiple narrators? seriously??? bit was me realizing i had to add a Multiple Narrators tag on ao3 after this. at this point of writing, i had no idea if i would be visiting anyone else's pov besides dave's, though.
attempt at homestuckian humor GO
™️ jokes are so funny to me for no reason
wink wink hint hint this is one of dave's powers at work, actually!! so, dave egbert actually has a perfect memory. like, there is not a single thing he's ever forgotten in his life, if he's experienced it, he can recollect that knowledge. this power also extends to the imaginary, the subconscious, and the supernatural, ie: in the event that dave experiences any visions of the future, he will retain that information. likewise, he has memories of every dream and nightmare he's ever had. which is fun because considering he's a dersite and also a time player and also dave, he has a lot of them HAHA. more on that later
The two of you had hit it off instantly despite this, like you had known each other your entire lives, like any and every other relationship that had come before it had merely been a warm-up for the monumental connection that would spark instantly between you both. ... You’re pretty convinced she’s your soulmate. If not that, you’re at least assured by the fact that you’re absolutely head over heels in love with her.
sentences i had so much fun writing knowing how badly it's going to mess dave up to learn that they're actually related HA HA
Especially at the start, Rose was mysterious and she was hilarious and she was overwhelming, the brightest thing you’ve ever had the fortune of witnessing.
get it because she's a hero of light get it she's the light of his life because shes a hero of light get it get it she's mysterious because her class mimics its opposite at the beginning of the story so everything about her pre-canon arc clings to void but she!! is bright! like light haha get i- 💥
see, reading sentences like this means i HAVE to at least write enough of their session to let dave both die and kill for his rose, like
also i need to write her killing and dying for him. well. killing for him. well.
killing.
perhaps just killing him. HAHAHA.
it is very fun to think about this because rose honestly just. does not talk about her relationship with dave much outside of mentioning that they're together. her narrative is so focused on the things that she wants the audience to focus on, so this was such a fun chapter to reveal the things she decided isn't important enough to ever let us in on.
like, she is so adamant that bro is the only important person in her life and the only person she loves, but she deeply cares about dave. she feels the same way, that they're connected in this way she can't pinpoint or name. and claiming him is exactly the right way to put it, because i don't think she knows how to acknowledge those emotions in herself, but she knows that she needs him with her always and wants him entrapped in a way where he can't get away from her.
i think rose is just incredibly attracted to what dave represents: safety, normalcy, the mundane, a reprieve from pain, but there are things about him that she just inherently gets. he's an outsider despite how much he attempts to fit in and i think there's something about that she relates to but also wants so badly to destroy and keep for herself.
also, this is a thing that belongs more in hcs than in kym specifically, especially because i imagine this taking place way earlier in their relationship, but bro absolutely knows about her relationship with dave. it isn't a secret. it's a thing that amuses him greatly. i actually imagine she shares a lot of details about him to bro, like allowing him this voyeuristic entertainment because dave isn't a threat to him, not really, and she shares every single one of her belongings with him.
in a perfectly pornographic world the two of them would spitroast the fuck out of him but this is a partially pornographic world that involves a meaningful plotline or whatever 🙄 smh
siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh
this part was incredibly hard to write. not because it was difficult or emotionally taxing but because i reached this unfortunate impasse i find myself at every now and then while writing a lot of darkfic where i struggle with... it's not exactly the impulse to project, necessarily, more just.... feeling forced through into inevitability of it? or maybe it's the reluctance to use personal experiences vs the knowledge that doing it can benefit your writing (but also can hamper it).
like, very hard to write about a self-destructive teenager with violent tendencies without being reminded of the time when you were a self-destructive teenager with violent tendencies.
that reluctance is born from a rant i'm definitely not gonna get into unprompted but i'll just say that it definitely complicated things HAHAHA. i've definitely gone through a 'i'm going through a psychotic break and i'm going to ramble out 7835963463 crazy things into this dm window because the person on the other side said i could' phase. i've definitely just. been insane and vomited so many words out and ngl for a second there in the final draft when i was feeling too lazy to get into Stream Of Consciousness mode i was very tempted to dig up an old vent post and copypaste those thoughts in for rose but ultimately i thought that was disingenuous and a betrayal of her character SO
a fun but unexpected surprise was rose sounding far more like herself during her drugged moments of honesty. it's especially fun because even in the future when she doesn't have access to any sort of drugs or contact with bro anymore, i don't think she'll sound this much like rose lalonde either. it's like in her desperate search to find more of her brother, she's really just found a core part of herself that she doesn't have access to in this universe
'Is there a mechanical soul within me?' there is and his name is hal hi hal
it is actually incredibly fun playing with typing quirk punctuation. it's actually a style i utilized a lot in chatroom roleplay groups yeaaaaaaaaaars after homestuck ended, very much inspired by tumblr ventblogging typing styles, crytyping and all that. the idea that someone's mental state can and should be reflected in their typing style, which is something you really only see in canon in a character like gamzee (i cant remember if other trolls drop the quirk in times of duress in canon??? i think karkat drops his as a joke about volume sometimes but that's it). i don't even know if it even really comes across as blatantly as it feels when i write it, but it's so fun to see the consistencies in a way a character types slowly but surely fall apart as they grow unstable
so the way this is designed, it's as if rose had a moment of finally being in touch with the core of herself, with what ultimately makes her rose (complete with proper punctuation), before slowly but surely lapsing back into ro-stri as she loses her punctuation piece by piece, and then ultimately devolving even more as she abandons her capitalization to type in a way that's reminiscent of dave but, more importantly, bro's typing quirk
'I think there are lives inside me/the life inside me is his' is so funny to look at in hindsight. this chapter was halfway finished before the pregnancy plot had even come into being, and this was only ever supposed to be a reference to the identity blurring she's experiencing, and this half-truth, half-delusion about being able to sense everything lil cal has injected into her and her brother. it is so STRANGE to reread it now knowing that it's become foreshadowing to her pregnancy, especially with that next sentiment following it:
'Sometimes I wish it was yours'. again, that idea of being soulmates, being connected with someone permanently. and, again, that idea of codependency, and rose being unable to express or understand love without that need to merge herself with the object of her affection. and again this was befORE the pregnancy plot was a thing so now every time i read this line i sit here hoping people dont interpret it as rose wanting dave's baby HGJFKGSGSG i swear im not into breeding i sWEAR
🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺😭😭😭😭😭😭
DAVE IS SO CUTE I ALWAYS DIE REREADING THAT PART HE'S SO CUUUTE
also i struggle so SO much writing comfort scenes especially dialogue meant to comfort someone but this came out so easily. perhaps because it's a futile attempt and i didn't have to worry about the recipient of that comfort actually feeling soothed...? hmmm!
i have nothing to add to the romantic cannibalism confession besides :3c
i don't actually reread this chapter all that often anymore so finding this paragraph was lovely damn shoutout to this sentence that made me choke on my water as i was reading it cuz i was so distracted by how much i didnt remember writing this that i forgot to swallow and my drink just slid down into my lugnshjskdfg
then it is a series of letters in a language you wonder if she’s made up, that is somehow so cohesive in its chaos that you start to doubt even that.
more horrorterror references as if the literal last paragraph wasn't enough HAHA
a very fun part of designing and outlining the killswitch au is deciding who gets what plotline. for example, does rose strider get to go grimdark because she's rose? or does jade lalonde get to go grimdark because she's the lalonde with library access to the grimoire? unlike the characterization formula, there isn't an easy answer to this one. i'm mostly just going with what's more fun narratively and what makes a better and more cohesive storyline for the verse.
either way, though, ro-stri still has a connection with the horrorterrors, simply because she's a dersite and because i love a character that is so utterly doomed that every evil force on the face of the planet wants to take a turn on them. what's better than this... getting psychologically gangbanged by every demon in existence...
DID YOU KNOW I AM SO VERY FOND OF DAVE EGBERT AND HIS LOVELY PAPA WHO LOVES HIM SO MUCH
i am also so very fond of a dave egbert who cries alone in front of his computer cuz his girlfriend makes him so very sad every night like poor baby does Not Sleep and its so cute gjkgs
'its just prose' annoys the shit out of me to see because i wrote a similar line in a published piece of writing a couple of years ago so i can't reread this without being reminded of That hgjfkg
i will never write a strider rap i have the highest respect for any author who can but it'll never be me
their dynamic kills me HJKGFGKGS peak toxic romance right here god i wish i could write even more of it... i need to write more daverose so fucking bad....
a fun line because 1) i rly enjoy dave's half-forced half-genuine emotional voyeurism it's just a rly interesting aspect of his personality to write and 2) it's fun to have a moment with dave e's specific brand of humor since it's not as long-winded as a strider's would be
i rly forgot so much of this chapter HGFKGSGS oh dave... i love you... i love writing you so much...
stream-of-consciousness style writing is really fun like you get taken to so many unexpected places in the process. generally when i go SoC style i tend to have a few goals i want to land and this image, dave watching over rose in derse, was one of the big ones
ALSO THE IRONY OF DAVE CALLING HIMSELF HER PRINCE WHEN SHE IS ACTUALLY THE PRINCE OF THE SESSION HEHEHEHEHE
the lil cal staring contest is also another big one. it's just such a fun image to allude to like goddamnit i wish i could draw. it feels like an image that i can't even really describe properly what i want it to mean because it explains itself and there's not much minutia to pry free, it's just. them. rose inexplicably and perpetually being drowned in this cancerous evil at a rate that not even dave strider got to experience.
lmfao shout out to me explaining his memory power earlier forgetting that i explain it in the chapter HJSKFG
oh well NOW I GET TO ACTUALLY DISCUSS HIS CLASSPECT
so dave egbert issssss....
🥁 [drumroll] 🥁
the MAGE OF TIME!!!!
and changing classpects actually did something incredibly interesting to the story. killswitch never would have worked as a simple homestuck rewrite, because i dont think swapping the guardians is something that can ever be simple. so it didnt make sense to keep their classpects exactly the same, because they wouldn't have the same personalities or the same backgrounds to craft those personalities, or the same issues that were born of their uniquely shitty backgrounds. it also didnt feel as easy as making rose a knight of light and dave an heir of time, etc etc. like, while rose is not insecure in the classic way that knights should be (it can be argued that the 'i am my brother' facade can count towards knighthood... but her role in the story and what it will turn into once she joins the game definitely brands her a prince through and through)
through researching for killswitch i ended up coming to this conclusion about sburb and how i approach classpect and hs narratives in general:
and because of that, it was super easy to reassign everyone based on what they've been turned into through the switch in their roles.
it also made for another easy characterization formula: their aspect represents their 'nature' while their class represents their 'nurture'. so all the zeta kids still belong to the same aspect while their class changes rapidly, though how close or how far it is from their original class really depends on their character
anyway, mage of time is an incredibly fun role that actually breaks the rewrite narrative almost more than rose's classpect does. as the mage of time, dave actually steals the cryptic psychic role from jade and john harley (though, i do have thoughts on that matter, because there is still going to be a benefit for them from having access to prospit, and that plotline will still be involved in some capacity... probably).
and it's a very fun, partially accidental discovery within the au that the zeta kids are all... just a tad more prepared to enter sburb than their predecessors. rose is completely aware of the fact that she's training for something specific and dave... dave knows that the game is coming. he doesn't know the specifics, he doesn't know that it's sburb specifically that will bring them all together, but he knows there's an it, he knows the day he'll meet all his friends in person will be a day for the history books, and he knows that rose is in danger and that he'll be able to help her in a way no one else can.
some mage of time thoughts, many of which inspired and/or describe dave egbert's storyline:
source
source
source
the above was probably one of the first interpretations i read and really what solidified him as a mage, my initial thoughts to his classpect and how it interacts with rose's was the following:
and it's just so fun GOD rly hope i get to write in his perspective more in the future
haha yeah if we ever get to it yEAH if i ever get off my ass and actually finish writing this wholeass au which i nEVER WILL CUZ I DONT WANNA WRITE 500K WORDS GODDDD IM NEVER WRITING A HOMESTUCK AU AGAAAAIINNNN

Bimonthly Media Roundup
- Hellsing Abridged (Webseries) - A rather old one but I do really like the aesthetic of this series - The kind of rough gothic look that was popular in the early 2000s. I appreciate that the author took the Dracula lore and just decided to go really weird with it with the multiple monster designs for Alucard himself, then applying that same "Rule of Cool looks over logic" monster lore for every other character in the series.
- Army of Darkness (Movie) - VHS night at my friends place, While I was familiar with Ash Vs the Evil dead I'd never actually seen this film and uh. Well I don't know what I was expecting but boy this sure wasn't that. I would not exactly call this a 'good' movie but it certainly was a fun one, and an incredible watching experience in a group setting. It reminded me a lot of Big Trouble in Little China with it's campy low budget energy where weird shit is constantly happening that the movie will never explain and the characters react very nonchalantly to the batshit things they are experiencing, Plot wise the movie could be described as Bruce Campbells No-Good Very Bad Day but the things that make it bad are honestly very funny and creative so good for it. I wish they made more movies like this nowadays honestly, just dumb little fun passion projects with obviously fake but still cool practical effects and an unnecessary skeleton army.
- Star Trek Strange New Worlds (TV) - Not too far in yet so not much to say, I like court themed episodes so I'm having fun with season 2 so far. Pike and Uhura are my faves as they are just very likable and silly guys who still know when to take their jobs seriously. Also this is a cool poster.
- Star Trek Lower Decks (TV) - Also only 2 episodes in so far but Season 4 is starting strong, I loved The Moopsy and everything about it and the menagerie in general, the vulcan girl getting a larger role with Tendi in particular seems like it will be a fun dynamic, and the humor and overall hyped vibes of the characters is still as strong as ever. Hmm I wonder if it would be worth it to paint myself green to do a Tendi cosplay or if Homestuck made that illegal for everyone forever.
- Dr Stone (Anime) - Yup.
- The S Classes That I Raised (Webnovel) - While I was never not invested in the story I've glad we've moved on to a new arc. Han Yoojin using his abilities to find people with unique non-fighting skills to take business away from what would be an evil mega corporation is a nice use of time-travel based knowledge, so I hope we get a bit more of that. I also would like some more downtime as I like all the characters and wish they got to hang out in low stakes situations more often. I suppose I'm also just a bit worn out of scrolling through action scenes, as while I quite like the art (and especially the coloring) style, the big effect explosions just don't translate super well to the scrolling style still-art pages of K-webcomics. That being said it could be a lot worse as Yoojin's relative powerlessness does make every fight at least interesting in how it needs to be thought through rather than just punched a lot - I just enjoy the fun character banter and political drama more.
- Ace Attorney Vs Professor Layton (Video Game) - Well that ending. happened. In truth I don't hate the twist necessarily on it's own, so much that it's the kind of twist that if you think about it too long it retroactively makes the rest of the story nonsensical. I also find the storyteller and Darklaw's motives to be very dumb which brings it down, not to mention they just axed Barnum from the last part of the game entirely despite him being arguably the best character in the game. Overall I didn't hate the game though, as I found a lot of the little character dialogue, puzzles, and Layton interactions cute - It makes me want to play a Layton game again that's for sure. I'm not sure it's a good Ace Attorney game as it feels very tonally different from the rest of the series, but hey with this I've experienced every Ace Attorney game in the franchise so that's nice, I'll have to do some character and case rankings at some point.
- One Piece (Anime) - Just finished Skypia and thinking about doing a liveblog from this point out. This was a pretty good arc honestly, I loved the villains design aesthetic and powers, lots of good crew bonding moments (Especially for Sanji + Usopp and Luffy + Nami), I liked the setting, the flashback episodes with Mont Blanc had uh questionable politics but the "we both have wives offscreen but are always shown together, think about each other constantly, and die thinking only of the other" gayness of it all made me laugh, and I think it did a good job giving everyone something interesting to do. Other notes would be how funny it is that Robin for the first half was having an entirely different, lovely experience wandering through the woods while everyone fights for their lives, that she nonchalantly snapped a guys neck when he told her to leave, and that poor Chopper had to fight 3/4 of the big bad guys all by himself that poor little deer.
- Genshin Impact (Video Game) - Still here, doing more co-op with my friend now, exploring the bonkers long Chasm quests in Liyue, hoping Kokomi comes back because I want her on my team so bad. Anyway Inazuma has been cool so far, I like the different environments on the islands (other than the lightning island which can sink into the ocean frankly) and there are lots of good character designs. Also I've been listening to the music more and its good!
Listening To: Bones by MSMR, In My Head by Mike Shinoda, Ivy by Taylor Swift, Dancin by Aaron Smith, Make Up Your Mind by Florence + The Machine, Ordinaryish People and World's Smallest Violin by AJR, Ghost by Justin Beiber, IDOL by YOASOBI, Atlantis by Seafret, Doin’ Time by Lana Del Rey, All the Boys by Panic! At The Disco.

Characters that have been rejected from the showdown
Notes: Please don’t send us angry asks about any of these, it’s just going to make us less likely to take the character. If you’d like to explain why you think they count feel free to send us an ask.
Ling Yao (Fullmetal Alchemist): Didn’t find the info, and he doesn’t seem to count
Nagito Komaeda (Danganronpa): submitter was annoying and I didn’t like the content much among other things
Satoko Hojo (Higurashi When They Cry): Too many images of the character dressed weirdly for the age range she is for me to want to actually read the wiki for the character
Alluka Zoldyck (Hunter x Hunter): At this point, we just honestly don’t feel like dealing with this character as we have been unable to get a solid argument.
Clarissa (Dead Mount Death Play): Over sexualized and didn’t vibe with it
Jon Connington (Game of Thrones): it’s game of thrones so no
Kaname Date (AI: The Somnium Files): Too many mentions of his obsession with pornography to be comfortable adding without a seriously good argument
Dr doofenshmirtz (Phineas and Ferb): Lack of evidence on wiki, need more
Dr Carmilla (The Mechanisms): Too close to real world
Terezi Pyrope (Homestuck): Don’t want to do homestuck
Curran (Dragalia Lost): Needs evidence the wiki was less than helpful
Maedhros (The Silmarillion): Needs really good argument as I am not compelled yet as the guy he’s shipped with is his like half cousin or some shit
Noise (Roleslaying with Roman): part of sanders sides which I don’t feel like dealing with
Meg Corbyn (Novels of the Others): needs more justification/ evidence
Rand al’Thor (Wheel of Time books): submitted for polyamory but as far as I can tell that wasn’t something he chose, would maybe accept an argument for bi if given one
Iroha (Diamond in the Rough): needs evidence and more justification
Tori Spring (Solitaire): needs different justification or evidence to be entered
Thirteenth (House MD): exactly the type of show we didn’t want, additionally I don’t like the show because it is acephobic
Marceline (Adventure Time): vampirism does not count as a disability in our opinion, and I couldn’t really find/ didn’t really look for a justification for the bipolar side of the argument
Rose Darling (Camp Damascus): need more evidence and justification from someone who has actually read the book
Anduin Wrynn (World of Warcraft): as of right now I am not comfortable accepting content from those creators, however if someone has an argument that isn’t mean they might be accepted
Vaggie (Hazbin Hotel): Unless someone wants to give a really good argument as on this one we are not including her due to sketchiness of content.
Vace (I was a Teenage Exocolonist): wiki was less than clear on sexuality
Tangent (I was a teenage exocolonist): too much eugenics vibes going on on her wiki for me to be comfortable but feel free to persuade me
Ashes O’Reilly (The Mechanisms): too similar to real life
President Dean (The Monument Mythos): to close to real life for me to be comfortable
Tatsumi Kazehaya (Ensemble Stars): lack of evidence
Edward Eric (Fullmetal Alchemist): lack of evidence
Dys (I was a Teenage Exocolonist): lack of evidence on wiki
Kitty Softpaws (Puss in Boots): lack of evidence
Monkey D Luffy (One Piece): lack of evidence
Roronoa Zoro (One Piece): lack of evidence that I cared to find
Clara Valac (Welcome to Demon School, iruma Kun): lack of cohesive evidence and something about it weirded me out.

Get tired of the modern trend of not having the conviction to actually talk what you're talking about cause big tech might smack you on the pp for saying a no no word
Specifically, saw someone trying to talk seriously about something but saying "n@zi" and it's just like... we can't fucking have this conversation if you can't even talk about what you're talking about
You want to know part of why I don't have a DNI other than thinking they don't work? Cause I don't really want to remind people who follow me about all the shitty people in the world, I'd rather try and mostly focus on the people doing good rather than drain everyone by only focusing on the bad
Like, there's a very real degree to which I just don't want people getting fatigued and feeling hopeless when there's so much to be done
So I don't tend to talk about nazis, I don't tend to talk about white supremacist shit stains. Their behavior and beliefs are disgusting, I hope this isn't a shocking revelation that I think this. They suck ass and aren't generally worth my time to talk about. So I don't tend to mention em or reblog stuff that does, cause fuck em
But if I'm gonna talk about those assholes I'll use the name for them. Not gonna give the satisfaction of acting like they're boogiemen when they're small minded pricks and that's about it
I just get so fucking tired of this homestuck ass way of speaking about serious topics
Discuss it or don't
There's a ton I don't publicly discuss here because I don't feel like tagging, but like if I want to have a discussion about pornography and the industry and sex work as a whole or whatever, I'm fucking saying porn not p0rn or corn. I'm not a fucking infant
I pick my topics, and while you may notice I have my whims and my rules aren't hard and fast, I mostly avoid current events and I mostly avoid more serious stuff... reblog animals and art and stuff like that cause I want to, even had people say they appreciate having a break from it on their dash when I've mentioned avoiding majorly reported current events
(Do you really need my opinion on stuff? You got 100 opinions already, you got your own opinion, I tend to focus more on sharing stuff I don't see talked about as much... that's why I talk more about Ukraine than Gaza, it's simply I know you know what's going on with one, where as outside of eastern europeans I don't seen any updates on the other)
So I tend to avoid serious topics here, even now I've made choices on what examples to use cause to even gesture at certain topics would be reminding you they exist... I'm not gonna do that
I self censor by choosing not to bring certain things up at all, or not sharing certain things. What I 100% don't do is use advertiser approved language
Stop being a child and a corporate puppet. Having an impassioned rant about something serious and making actual points just... man does it lose a lot of punch when you use "n@zi" in the same sentance as "great replacement theory". You're talking serious stuff, so talk with serious words
At a certain point you either stop playing tech companies games or you admit you'll dance any way they tell you to
