My game theory about Fields of Mistria is that one of the Dragons is lying and they're not what they seem to be.

We get some snippets of lore here and there as we play and we learn about two historical figures:

A Witch Queen and the Dragonsworn Hero.

I think that's Seridia and Caldarus . And the one lying out of the two might be Seridia, the ancient witch queen. (in their liked gif she has a night queen). She's definitely tricking us into going deeper and deeper down the mines so we can free her.

Why was she sealed down the mines? Why was she forgotten while Caldarus wasn't? Why do these two hate each other? And by who was she sealed?

So many questions 🤔

a line about traveling that mentions she sees why humans like walking so much but misses teleportation

a line at night talking about how quiet it becomes and how human eyes dont have night vision

a morning quote about how sleeping is optional for her

gift line that says its a worthy gift and thanks you

disliked gift about if ur gonna give her tribute u better give her something good

a confused line about how youre just....saying hello

I have a theory

SPOILERS ABOUT THE TWO SECRET MARRIAGE CANDIDATES (Caldarus + ?)

Caldarus hated gift is the unknown dragon statuette, which I assume is Seridia's statue. Same goes with her, she hates Caldarus statue. Both look similar, so either A. they are related and have a major sibling beef or B. Both are from the same dragon species and maybe they could be rival marriage to Caldarus / Seridia x Farmer if they added that thing on FoM? And maybe they hate each other because one is the reason the other was sealed/isolated Imagine if they are bitter exes lmaoo

Either way I feel like the current shy (?) and polite priestess we know may be a facade to make us pity her and more eager to help her and follow her directions and once she's free she'll treat us like a dog (the opposite of how genuinely kind Caldarus treat us and views humans as not inferior but different to his kind). Probably the dragon priestess would be a lie too if it goes that path because she'd make the farmer believe she prays to Caldarus or another dragon entity when in fact she made a follower alter ego who worships herself (self love at its finest)

Shy or mean lady I'm down either way my farmer WILL win the bisexual dragon fucker badge. Though personally I prefer how she looks in her current sprite vs Seridia chibi icon but since we haven't seen Seridia's true (?) form I don't have much to make a solid opinion, perhaps she even looks prettier (but dear God the devs put the bar high bc rn with her blue-ish skin and that outfit she' slaying SO HARD I wonder how they'll make her be more peak). At least now I know Caldarus hair color

But finally we will have more drama 😈

Or maybe the priestess is just Seridia's priestess fr, that would explain why she doesn't have a heart like Caldarus does. Then I'd be kinda sad because she's so pretty I want her

a good friend of mine who mainly plays alliance levelled a character with me recently so she could come play with me through the Horde campaigns, and when she mentioned it to her guild, she was completely attacked, berated and harassed in and out of game

i want people to reblog this so that others know you are a place safe for someone who plays both! all this macho bullshit leaking outside of the game is ridiculous. just because Blizzard have directed the lore down the old reds vs blues path again, doesn’t mean anyone should feel unsafe or unwelcome outside of the game
