PITO, artist of the BL manhwa "Leave the Work to Me!", and author and artist of the GL manhwas "My Joy" and "Her Pet", all licensed by Lezhin, just admited to having used revenge porn of a Korean girl as art references for his manhwa. Read his statement on Naver here (archived in case he deletes it).

As Korean activist sikpang on Twitter has spoken about, PITO used a "porn video" as a reference (and meme) for his manhwa. However, that video was actually a well-known illegal recording ("molka"). The following comment was written by the real victim of the illegal recording, saying it had ruined her life. Eventually, she committed suicide, but even then, Korean men continued to mock her by referring to the leaked video as her "last work".

PITO has stated that the webtoon platform instructed him to practice drawing for an adult webtoon, and that his contract was abusive. But naturally, the company never instructed him to use this kind of material as artistic reference. Read a detailed thread by Korean feminist activist cat here.

Seri, author and artist of the GL manhwa (considered by many a feminist work) "Her Tale of Shim Chong" (Tappytoon), and adapter of the manhwa "My S-Class Hunters" (Webtoon), advocated for PITO in a now partially deleted Twitter thread, saying that 10 years ago illegal recordings ("molka") were not a crime. This is patently false, as Korean users have pointed out. The movement against online sexual harassment in Korea goes as far as 1997, and at the time legislation against sexual crimes was in place.

What seems to be worse is that anti-sex crimes activists have (allegedly) been blocked by multiple manhwa authors.

The situation around women's rights in Korea is dire. Recently, many women, including high school students, have reported that they have been victims of deepfakes (AI-generated pornography using their faces). These crimes seem to mostly take place on Telegram channels, and estimated numbers indicate that there are at least 220.000 offenders. Here is a good post explaining current events.

Previous related incidents that you might have heard of are the Nth Room case and The Burning Sun scandal.

I want to make it clear that I'm not calling for a boycott of any of the authors involved. What you do with your time and money is your personal decision. I just wanted to bring people's attention to this issue on Tumblr, since there are barely any posts about it. But in my case, I'll never be able to read these works anymore. It especially hurts in the case of "Her Tale of Shim Chong", as it was always regarded as the best historical yuri manhwa, and many readers found it to be a powerful feminist story. Personally, I won't be able to recommend it ever again.

Serizawa quería acabar con la incomodidad que se gestó el día anterior después del trabajo, aunque Reigen cumplió con su oferta de comer juntos, lucía algo distante.

Quizás, pensó Katsuya, le había molestado qué invadiera su espacio personal, sin embargo hasta ese momento nunca había sido un problema.

Aunque en realidad jamás había abrazado a su jefe y esa sensación aún palpitaba en sus brazos y en su pecho.

— Su orden — le indicó la barista de la cafetería.

Tal vez podría compensar todo con una bebida dulce de chai con leche y miel. Últimamente el rubio disfrutaba mucho beber cosas así.

— Lo siento, pero no pedí esto — mencionó cuando se percató de un adorable paquete de galletas de nuez qué acompañaba las bebidas que compro.

Ella carraspeó un poco — Es cortesía de la casa — parecía apenada cuando una vez más le insistió que la tomará.

— Gracias — la aceptó él, algo contrariado.

— Vuelva pronto… — lucía nerviosa — En serio… vuelva pronto, por favor — agregó en voz baja.

La joven de cabellos castaños claros regresó rápidamente a atender a los demás clientes que estaban esperando en la barra.

Serizawa se sintió incómodo, pero quizás sólo era su imaginación. Así que lo dejó pasar y se apresuró a ir a su lugar de trabajo.

— Buenos días — saludo a su jefe al llegar.

El rubio se veía tranquilo, dándole a entender al castaño que sus inseguridades estaban siendo infundadas.

— Bienvenido, Serizawa.

Y se levantó de su escritorio al ver que su empleado ponía las bebidas sobre la mesa de té entre los dos sillones para clientes.

— Un pequeño desayuno antes de comenzar con las labores ¿eh? — le sonrió mientras Katsuya dejaba su té frente a él.

— Bueno, yo… Pensé que sería una buena forma de comenzar la semana.

Serizawa estaba feliz, eran esos momentos en los que su pasado solo era un recuerdo esquivo. Sabía que podía controlar su poder y usarlo para ayudar a otros, para cuidar las cosas y a las personas que eran importantes para él. Las cosas y a las personas a las que amaba.

Quedó atento al vaso de café entre sus manos, luego en cámara lenta su mirada se posó en el rubio frente a él.

Sin duda alguna, esos últimos días se había percatado de que su jefe era algo especial. Quería protegerlo, mantenerlo a salvo pero no por una obligación contractual sino que ese incipiente deseo nacía de un aprecio genuino.

Uno cálido y sencillo que brotaba en su pecho.

— Ah, ¿qué es esto? — preguntó Reigen mientras sacaba las galletas de su empaque.

Se trataba de una pequeña nota, la letra en ella era delicada obviando el hecho de haber sido escrita por una chica.

— “Minako…” — leyó lentamente mientras sus pupilas se dilataban evidenciando la incredulidad— ¿”llamame”? Esto es…

Katsuya lo vio dirigir su mirada hacia él, algo en sus ojos y en su expresión lo acalambro.

— ¿Ah? — fue lo único que sus labios lograron articular.

Reigen río nervioso — Bueno, Serizawa, — bebió un poco de té — supongo que era cuestión de tiempo ¿no?

— No entiendo — replicó confundido.

— Sí, ya sabes — por alguna razón Arataka sonaba molesto — es como esas historias de las novelas: Un día un hombre bien parecido entra a una cafetería y la dependienta se anima a dar el primer paso — extendió el pequeño papel hacia Katsuya justo dejándole ver los números escritos ahí — luego él duda mucho pero al final acepta, se conocen, se comprenden, se enamoran y son felices para siempre o mientras dura eso, lo que sea.

Agitó sus manos con rapidez y luego solo coloco su mentón sobre una de ellas, agachado la mirada, frunciendo inconscientemente las cejas.

Reigen parecía molesto, pero Serizawa no vislumbraba que era lo que había hecho mal.

Leyó varias veces la notita, cayendo en cuenta de su significado. Alguien, por primera vez en su vida había coqueteado con él. Las bebidas en la mesa se agitaron.

— Tranquilo, Serizawa, no es para que te pongas nervioso — Reigen levantó las bebidas mientras su empleado se relajaba.

Y Katsuya no pudo evitar que el sonrojo adornara sus mejillas y de haber puesto atención se habría percatado de cómo la mueca de molestia del rubio se convertía lentamente en una de dolor.

— Si es linda, deberías llamarla — agregó su jefe volviendo a su porte estoico.

— ¿E… E… En serio? — preguntó con algo de ansiedad — ¿Debería hacerlo? ¿Por qu�� ella se fijaría en mí?

Su pregunta era genuina, no era que no lo hubiese halagado la propuesta, el mismo durante su encierro había leído mangas de todo tipo incluyendo shojo, donde siempre había historias así.

— Como te lo dije antes, solo era cuestión de tiempo. No eres un mal tipo e incluso… — paro un momento — Seguro le gustas, es decir… — murmuró algo que Serizawa no logro distinguir porque de inmediato se llenó la boca de te.

¿Salir con alguien? No estaba seguro de si le gustaría o si estaba preparado.

Pero…

Miro a Reigen, que por alguna razón mordía con rabia una galleta.

Sí pudiera salir con alguien, Serizawa, quería que fuese alguien más.
