Fireworks Beneath Our Feet (My Hero Academia)
Happy New Year!!!! 2025- holy canoli! :D Since I didn't write a Christmas fic last year, I decided to make something for the New Year! I hope you like it :3

Summary: It's New Years Eve. Bakugou and Todoroki decide to celebrate together.
Bakugou didn’t care much for winter holidays.
There were some good things that came out of them. Having classes off was always nice, and he’d be a liar if he thought Eri in her little Santa outfit wasn’t the cutest thing in the world.
He also liked eating; the food was always good- especially Shoto’s sister’s cooking. He had a whole new list of recipes to bribe out of her next time he visited the Todoroki household. Besides that though- he didn’t care much for it all.
What he did look forward to however was New Years. Especially fireworks.
How he loved fireworks.
“Come on, Icy-hot! It’s not even that cold up here!” Bakugou called behind him, pushing the roof door open with a shiver. Okay-maybe it was cold up there, but whatever. “We’re gonna miss them if you don’t hurry up!”
“I’m coming, I’m coming! Why are you in such a rush- they always go off exactly at midnight.” Todoroki reminded him as he came into view, arms full of things. “We’ve got at least half an hour.”
“Half an hour my ass- you know time moves differently in the dorms!” There were so many people to navigate past, not to mention the stairs they had to climb. If they left too late, they’d miss the show. “Here- I’ll take some of that.”
“Did you forget your arms are already full? Go ahead- I’m fine.” Todoroki caught the door with his hip, shivering as the wind cut through his jacket. “Not that cold my butt.”
Soon they were set up- a warm blanket spread beneath them with another thrown on top of their laps. A thermos hot chocolate sat nearby, two mugs filled to the brim with marshmallows and cream steaming in their gloveless hands. Todoroki made it a point to sit on Bakugou’s right, his left side acting as an impromptu furnace to keep them toasty. They were ready to go- now was the hard part. Waiting.
“Are you warm enough?” Todoroki asked after a few minutes, seeing Bakugou shiver. He leaned in closer, pressing their shoulders together. “Let me know if you need more heat.”
“I’m fine- ugh, why do they drag it out? It’s the best part of the freaking year!” He tapped his fingers impatiently against his mug, watching the sky for any sign of light. It was only then he felt the shoulder against him shaking. “What?” Bakugou asked, narrowing his eyes at the growing smile on his boyfriend’s lips. “What is it?”
“Nothing- truly. I just think it’s cute how excited you get over things like this.” Todoroki grinned, watching Bakugou blush. “It’s sweet- you’re like a little kid.”
“Bah, what do you know?” Bakugou huffed and turned away, a clear pout forming on his lips. Todoroki chuckled around his mug, taking a sip before putting his and Bakugou’s aside. He wrapped an arm around him again when he started to shiver. “I’m not some brat..”
“I know you’re not. You’re an amazing hero who actual kids look up to and admire. When we reach Pro and you make your official debut, you’re gonna have tons of fans.” He kissed Bakugou’s chilled cheek, feeling it twitched with a restrained smile. “Of course, I’ll be your number one.”
“You’re gonna pull a Deku and collect all my merch?” He asked, laughing some when Todoroki nuzzled his neck and ears with his chilled nose.
“Sure. I’ll have a whole museum dedicated to you and your merch.” He gently poked him, feeling Bakugou twitch. “Wall to wall, floor to ceiling of your face for all to see. Historians will find it after we’re gone and wonder to themselves: “Just who is this handsome man?”, and I’ll rise from the dead and go “He’s mine- back off!””
“Ghe-ehahahahahhaa, thahaht’s so creheheheheepy!” Bakugou laughed, falling into Todoroki’s chest as he swatted at the hands tickling him. “I’ihihihll bloohohow it ahahah up behehefore I dihihie. I whahahant yoohohou to stahhahay dead wihihihth mehehehe!”
“Erasing yourself from the narrative, huh? I’ll have to invest in explosive-proof walls.” He snickered alongside the blonde’s giggle fits, his touch incredibly light as not to draw anyone’s attention to them. Call it what you want, but he liked having Bakugou all to himself in these moments. “Maybe I’ll have it built in the clouds, or on the ocean floor. You’ll be really popular among the mermaids.”
“Thohohohose fihihihsh cahahan suhuhuck it!” Bakugou cackled, feeling ticklish from both Todoroki’s touch and the insane thought. Late hours sure knew how to bring the silly out of them. “Oohohohonly yohohohou geheheht me, yohohou here? Ihiihhih’m yoohohhours!”
Todoroki sucked in a breath, pausing his tickles. “Say it again.”
“Whahaht?” Bakugou blinked, confused. “Ihi’m yours?” Then he went bright red, covering his face with his hands. “Gahha! N-No, don’t fucking lohohok at me like thahaht!”
Todoroki was just as red, his heart racing a mile a minute. Such simple words, but they meant the world to him. “Like what?” He leaned down, gently pawing at Bakugou’s hands until he could meet his eye. “Tell me, Kats. How am I looking at you?”
“Shoto..” Bakugou knew where this was going. A part of him wanted to hide away knowing how his emotions would so easily show on his face. Another part of him wanted Todoroki to just say it already.
“Look at you..like I love you? Cause I do. You’re my whole world. The night sky and the stars above.” He leaned down and kissed Bakugou’s brow, smiling against it. “I’m so forever grateful to have you in my life.”
“Ugh, you’re so fucking sappy!” Bakugou growled, earning a laugh. He looked up at the moon for a moment, finding the courage to say what he wanted- no, needed to say. “I love you too. If I’m your night sky, you’re the sun that comes over the horizon. You make my path in life bright when I need it most. You make me so damn happy, even when you’re being annoying about it.” Todoroki let out a wet laugh at that, kissing his brow again. “Now stop kissing my face and kiss my lips already, you half-and-half bastard.”
“So swoonworthy.” Todoroki did as requested, kissing him fully. His lips tasted of cocoa and marshmallows. He smelled like winter air and firewood at the same time. Bakugou nearly lost himself entirely to such a simple but soothing gesture.
The familiar whistle cut through the air when they pulled apart. Bakugou practically sprinted out of Todoroki’s lap and to the roof fence as the sky exploded. “Look! Shoto, look, it’s happening!”
The sky was a rainbow of shimmers, fireworks popping above them in a breathtaking lightshow. Bakugou leaned against the roof’s edge, standing on his toes and breathing in the smoke-tinged air. If he stretched his hand out, he swore he could touch them- grab them in his hands like falling stars.
A warm hand brushed against his, and he made short work collecting it- intertwining their fingers. Forget falling stars- he was holding the brightest one of all now. “It really is beautiful.” Todoroki breathed beside him, just as awestruck. Bakugou let out a laugh as he leaned into his boyfriend, watching the twinkling flames dance.
“We’ve probably missed the countdown, but Happy New Year, Shoto.” He felt Todoroki lean back into him, resting his cheek against his spiked out hair. “Thanks for making this year a good one.”
“You too. Thank you for loving me.” He heard him whisper back, bringing their conjoined hands up to kiss Bakugou’s knuckles. “Happy New Year, love.”
Thanks for reading!

on lightning's singular salvation of snow
"snow coming back from being cie’th borders on a miracle. in ffxiii, etro was the means for a cie’th to return. it could be that lightning has inherited etro’s powers and brought forth a miracle, or that snow, upon hearing lightning’s voice, restored himself under his own power." - daisuke watanabe
salvation of snow is amongst lightning’s chief reappropriations of bhunivelze’s power in lightning returns as she reclaims her brother, another family member bhunivelze hopes to steal from her. the use of “miracle” specifically juxtaposes her to etro as the heiress of her will, a theme that is compounded throughout the game.
lightning returns, and yusnaan's arc in particular, defines that it is lightning and lightning alone who is responsible for snow's damnation, and decidedly lightning and lightning alone who is capable of his salvation. so any attempt to remove lightning from snow's restoration and write the mc out of her own story/victory is moot.
the whole point of snow’s "suicide" is that he no longer cares that he won't see serah in the afterlife with the erasure of his soul, because he lost all worth the second lightning comes to take his place and alleviate him of his duty. “i bet he became a cie'th right now because he wanted you to kill him.” he wants to be taken out by the woman he failed first and foremost. lightning reminding him pre-battle that he won’t be able to face serah like this does nothing to stop him. she absolves him only the second she says she needs him still. the writers follow with snow confessing that talking about serah is "not what i need most now.”
snow doesn’t surveil yusnaan’s romance and revelry for serah’s memory, he does so despite it. lightning repurposes the fireworks of his condemnation for her own god-defying conflagration and incinerates snow's illusory penance while sowing seeds of true memory through hearkening snow romantically with serah’s music.
viewing snow’s relationship with the farron sisters as anything but bilateral is wrong. serah is his north star, but it’s always been lightning who is his tether to the ground below.
#lightning farron#snow villiers#ff13#ffxiii#lightning returns#snowlight#ffxiii meta#in response to an old post i stumbled across that wrote that snow was imagining serah in lightning's place#which is both wrong and reductive#and a complete misconstrual of all lr's themes#whenever i see someone write lightning out of her own narrative it’s like kill bill sirens go off in my head#snowrai

@lastaim and I attended A New World FF concert for the first time and we LOVED IT. It starts of with FFXV world theme. It’s definitely more intimate than Distant Worlds and the tracks chosen are music barely or never hear in Distant Worlds. Multiple songs were played from selected FF games, esp from FFX, FFXIV, and FF7 remake. The conductor himself sang “Make my Wish Come True” from FFXIII.
Masashi Hamauzu was there too! Another legend in FF music along with Nobuo Uematsu
“Fight with Seymour” string quartet version slayed us! 😭♥️♥️ Along with Cello and Guitar duet of Troia. We cried at just the basic “TOWN” song from FF1. Too many to name, the concert was just too short, about and hour and 20mins. Definitely need to go again for sure in the future. The conductor is full of surprises~

Shinto Academia - Year 4xxAF (Night)
So, this painting took me quite a while but I really had tun working on it, first time I painted rain too.
So, about a month ago I finished playing the excellent FFXIII-2 (amazing art direction and superb soundtrack) and I was fascinated with the atmosphere and setting of "Shinto Academia", a futuristic city the main characters explore for a while.
Well, this is a reinterpretation: it is a reinterpretation of the City Of Academia in the Year 4xxAF (good timeline) with the coloring and lights of Academia in the Year 400AF (bad timeline).
Serah, the main heroine, sat on eaves as she admires the architectural urban glimpse of Academia.
While I was painting this, I had the Shinto Academia theme almost always on repeat to delve myself into the atmosphere, give it a listening.

FINAL FANTASY XIII-2 (2011)
It always breaks my heart how Noel literally knows nothing. This guy comes from a place where there is nothing but misery. He literally says to Snow when he asks him where he comes from: "A place that doesn't have much in the way of fun or civilization."
but at the same time, I can't control myself not to laugh every time he sees/hears something new for him and he’s just like: woahhhh ☉_☉
and all I can think about is seeing Noel go to the theme park with Serah, Snow and Hope and they’ll all be excited to make him try all the rides.
Ahh those tags under my post is exactly what I want:
I WANT HIM JUST HAVING FUN LIKE THIS OKAY!!

fun fact, many members of ffxiii's main cast (that have a pre-existing relationship from before the start of the game) have matching accessories!
serah and snow split a cat-themed earring+necklace set (in addition to the engagement necklaces)
serah and lightning have matching armbands
and vanille and fang share bracelets
#ffxiii#i haven't been able to identify something like this for sazh and dajh but if you have PLEASE tell me#my post

On the remarkably consistent childhood friends to lovers romantic trope in the Final Fantasy series
Following my playthrough for FF7 Rebirth, I have been thinking about romantic tropes in the FF series more broadly. The stories that have romantic relationships that develop between the main cast (or at least guest party members) seem to all follow the childhood friends (or, at least, childhood/family connections) to lovers trope. Just wanted to list the examples I can think of that follow this paradigm. (Disclaimer, I have never completed FF6, so cannot speak to that game).
FF3: Ingus and Sara grow up together in Sasune castle, and become a couple at the end, with Ingus declaring that he will follow her anywhere and stay by her side. This is the well-known trope of the knight and princess falling in love.
FF4: Cecil and Rosa grow up together along with Kain, with whom they are in a love triangle. Kain sort of runs off in the end because he can't deal with the other two being together at the story's end.
FF7: I know, it's really the only debatable one due to the narrative and affection mechanics of the OG, but the plot clearly shows that Cloud and Tifa have harbored romantic feelings since childhood, and they are obviously a couple raising a family together in AC and DoC. ToTP and OTWTAS delve further into their feelings, but are really just the devs clearing up things they did/could not get into in the OG. The remake trilogy adds more depth to the relationship as well, since Square couldn't really use tone of voice or body language in the OG to express the clear romantic chemistry and tension between them in the first two trilogy entries. In fact, it is so obvious that other characters and party members actively bring it up (Marle, Johnny, Yuffie, Barrett, even Aerith at times).
FF8: This one is a childhood/family connection one, as Squall and Rinoa's parents had a unresolved love story. It's a bit of stretch, I know, but it does loosely fit in with the other couples' arcs.
FF10: Similar to FF8, this one involves Tidus and Yuna having a connection through their fathers' having been comrades during Yuna's father's pilgrimage 10 years prior to the main story. Yuna even goes so far as to state that it must be fate that brought them together, during their voyage from Besaid to Kilika. It is worth noting that this one is a two-fer, since Wakka and Lulu are also childhood friends who become lovers, especially if you incorporate the 10-2 subplot in which Lulu is literally pregnant with Wakka's child.
FF12: This one only hints at two childhood-friends-to-lovers couples. Basch and Ashe have history as it seems he was a knight in the Dalmascan military when they were both younger, and their history is hinted at rather than directly addressed as in other games. It is suggested that they may develop romantic feelings some time after the main story ends, but are both bound by duty to be apart. Vaan and Penelo fit the childhood friends to lovers trope much better, but their relationship is only ever implied: Balthier constantly teases Vaan about Penelo by calling her "your girl" multiple times (which Vaan never refutes), and the final scene of the game is literally Vaan returning to her as he says "I'm coming Penelo".
FF13: Snow and Serah are the childhood friends to lovers couple here, and they do end up together in the end if you ignore the two sequel storylines.
FF15: Noctis and Luna start off as childhood friends destined to have an arranged marriage, but they develop strong romantic feelings for each other despite being apart for several years (yet again, by tragedies befalling their families/homes), and are reunited in their love both in adulthood and in the afterlife.
FF16: This one is another two-fer, with the obvious pairing of Clive and Jill growing up together and having romantic feelings as children, then being forced apart due to tragic circumstances (anyone sensing a theme here?), only to be reunited and fall in love as adults. This one mirrors FF7 quite a bit, complete with the memory loss narrative elements where Clive and Cloud both forget about the key roles they played in their respective childhood tragedies, only to rediscover the truth while on a journey of self-discovery where they battle with their own subconscious to rediscover their true pasts, with their childhood love interests at their sides. As a bonus, Jill also goes through her own journey of self-discovery at Drake's Breath with Clive at her side, much like Tifa does together with Cloud in the Lifestream. The less prominent pairing is Dion and Terence, who mirror the FF3 arc of Ingus and Sara, with the knight and prince (rather than princess, bold move SE) declaring their mutual love by story's end.
Please let me know if I missed/misrepresented anything, and I hope you find this remarkable consistency in the childhood-friends-to-lovers trope in the FF series as interesting as I do.

Why I still recommend Final Fantasy 13
As we all know FF13 was the black sheep of the Final Fantasy games. It had a different fighting system and was strangely more linear than its previously better-known games. However, this was more of the gamer's issue as when FFX and FFX-2 came out a lot of people said there were too many missable items and didn't like having to search everywhere for items or hidden scenes.
Years later Square Enix responded made FF13, and what were the gamer's responses. "We don't like it"
Now with FF games like 15 and 16 which are open-world people praise both for their own styles and stories. I'll be honest 15 was okay, the fact though that DLC kept coming out for the game and the story was lacking a bit for some of the characters, made me kinda miss the simpler ones. Now as for 16, I have not played it yet but I will differ from those who have that opinion.
As for FF14 which is an mmo its far different from the others but you get the opportunity to play with friends and actually go at your own pace.
But with all the games that have come out of the Final Fantasy franchise, I can say that everyone in the FF13 trilogy I remember and they have good characters. which I wanna talk a little bit about. (FYI this is where the spoilers now will appear. you've been warned. Also Very long Post just fyi)
Let's start off with of course the Queen
Lightning aka Claire Farron. A Cocoon soldier who stays distant and strong for her sister after losing their parents, after years of becoming strong to protect her only family. She faces losing her sister Serah to become an eternal crystal or the insidious cieth. After everything she faces, they save Cocoon. She only had a moment with everyone and realized that she and Serah could have a chance at actual peace. She gets taken away from the dream to save a goddess and forced into the duty of a protector. And even after that, she stays strong, guiding Serah along the way to help her fight Caius even though everyone thinks she is dead.
But then Etro dies and she fails in her mission, overtaken with grief by not only the goddess dying and failing...her sister. The only person in her life that kept her from losing all of her hope. Dies. Everything she did in the first game...gone. And then after sleeping for 500 years she's given the chance by God to save Serah and the World. A sort of redemption if you think about it.
Snow falls kinda under the same category but from a small different point of view. Snow was deeply in love with Serah and in the first game was trying to save her and Cocoon as well. Even though Etro caused Lightning to disappear he still tries to hold the fort and he got to have his peace with her afterward. But sadly he only gets to have that life for a year before FF13-2 starts, the love of his life goes on a mission he cant join. All the while he does his damn hardest to help Fnag and Vanille's pillar holding up Cocoon. And in doing so, willingly takes on the I'cie curse even after getting his brand removed in the first game. Once again everything in the first game almost not worth it (This is a reoccuring theme.), if not for Serah coming back. But then she dies and he can't fix, and he couldn't be there for her. His promise to be her hero is shattered. For 500 years he cares for the people and everyday misses Serah, blaming himself everyday for what happened and not keeping her safe. HE is basically the prime example of a suffering hero.
Hope is kinda the odd one out, he is only a child, in the wrong place wrong time situation with his mother and him being brought into the Bodium purge. He loses his mother and goes on a verge to get revenge on Snow who he held responsible. But in a short amount of time when he stays with Lightning he learns from her that his innocent world is over, he is a fugitive, a I'cie and alone. But after she tells him about her past and facing the worst that life can offer, you grow from it. He even goes from taking up the rear to guarding her in the front, his fear fades throughout the entire game and he learns to grow up to be a fine young man in FF13-2. He even makes a new world for humanity in case Cocoon were to fall. He was their Hope, their hope for a world rid of monsters.
But in LR, we see that he has disappeared possibly having been kidnapped, remolded / torture back into young hope and made to spy on Lightning to fulfill her Savior duties. And can't speak his true thoughts, he is a fake. Even Lightning realizes though that the next world needs him, he even sees his parents who were long since dead he realizes that he gets the chance to have a proper life, Hope is the Symbol for all to have Hope and to Believe.
Sazh suffers from the possibility of outliving his son. He is a widow and the only family left for him is his son who is quite young, and unfortunately at a young age his son is branded by the I'cie. Dajh basically only has a short time to be a child, until he either turns to crystal or a monster. Sazh loses him after being taken and fights to save him, but all the while he slowly loses his faith. He lost his wife and now his son, every moment he questions what they are doing. Only the prospect of saving Dajh keeps him going as well as his Chocobo chick. After saving Dajh though they get to live a normal life until the end of FF-13-2
For almost 500 years Dajh is in a coma like state and Sazh once again loses his faith thinking the only way Dajh can be saved is by doing it himself. When Lightning comes around though and helps reawaken Dajh, well so does Sazh. He regains his faith and even comes to the final moment of the game with everyone ready to welcome the new world with his son. He's the family man, kinda similar to Barret from FF7. But he is also the representation of a man going down the harder path to help those he loves.
Fang and Vanille fall under the same issue, Born to Gran Pulse and lived and had to sleep in immortal crystal to awake and find their home in ruins. The life they lived all gone and the only thing left of who they were is each other. Fang even takes on the torture to awaken Ragnarök. Doomed to bring about the end of Cocoon. But then their fate is changed and they were able to save instead of destroy.
In FF13-2 they are able to help Serah in her mission but they knew what she might have to face and with LR, they were torn about by both a sense of duty and a want to protect the other. Lightning finds out that they each wanted to help the other, however Vanille want for redemption at the cost of her own life to save the lost dead souls, thats what splits Fang away because she refuses to lose Vanille.
They can represent both family and lovers. One will not go on without the other, no matter what.
And now for the princess, (not literally) but still i love Serah. Anyhow, Serah is the embodiment of Love, Faith and Hope. She goes through everything, turned into an enemy of Cocoon, turned into crystal, given the gift and/or curse of Etro, lost her fiancé to time travel for a bit, dies, has her soul taken out of Lightning where she was safe and then used as a bargaining chip by God to make Lightning keep to her role. But through everything, she still believed her sister and fiancé would save her, that she would be able to live her own life and teach children.
This girl fought and stepped up to every challenge but unlike lightning she shows her emotions, all the pain of failure and loss is understanding and that makes her into a connection for the player.
Okay so for times sake Im putting these three in one group since their stories are enveloped all together.
They are the last humans of a future timeline where the events of ff13 did not go well, Noel is basically the last human that ever existed and under Caius teaching and wing both of them protect Yeul who is a priestess of Etro forced to live again and again only to die after seeing the last of her visions into the future. Caius who knows some of the past Yeuls loved him, the last one loves Noel and he tries everything to save her. So whats his plan. Oh yeah, kill the goddess Etro to stop all natural death and the visions. Hence stopping Yeul from dying.
Noel guided by Lightning has to aid Serah to stop Caius and save the Future. After everything though, he fails by killing Caius not realizing that with his death he actually killed Etro (long story) watches Yeul die and Serah die. and after all of that is forced to watch the world and timeline for 500 years fall and crumble into a shell of the former grandeur that it was.
Yeul after dying, helps Lighting but in her now spirit like self she reveals a terrible truth that while Caius is alive no good will come. But while the Yeul we know wants Caius dead. (along with hundreds of other past selves.) Some of them also want Caius to live causing him to never truly die. To quote Caius "Even if one Yeul desires my salvation, another demands my rebirth."
Yeul is the symbol of mourning and regret but also wisdom in knowing that not all things will be bad, and that good things do eventually happen.
Caius is the symbol of inability to accept what happens and the cruelty of death. His immortality while at first would seem like a gift is a curse, he watching all those he love die and when the chance to die comes, it fails. He is stuck in an infinite life that is now out of his control.
Noel is the symbol of failure but also standing back up taking the next steps forward. After everything, with just the promise of seeing the person he loves again, even if only one more time. Gives him the strength to move on.
-
So if any of you can identify with even one of these characters I highly recommend you play the game. Trust me, me writing all of this down doesn't do the games justice. Its a lovely styled game that after some time you will get used to and its really not that hard of gameplay, watch a few videos and you will get the hang of it.
So anyways im not sure if i convinced any of you but enjoy your days and i send you off with a smiling lighting because its so rare and you all deserve one.

do you think we will ever see the ffxiii cast in kingdomhearts... sometimes wish nomura wasnt so biased with his picks, sora could really benefit from meeting vanille after she works through her stuff, or hell serah meeting kairi
UUUUGGGHHHH i think about that so so much oh my god i've wanted it to happen since i first played kh2
i've probably mentioned it a million times by now but there is soooooo much potential for all the characters to interact with each other 😭
one i've been thinking about a lot is strelitzia and lightning just because of how similar she can be to marluxia. rose-themed older sibling with pink hair?? it's killing me dude!!!!!!!!!!!! and strelitzia would probably remind lightning of serah oouughh
i also really need to see hope and riku cringe together over their 14-15 year old selves, make it happen nomura
#ask#i could go on about how much ffxiii needs to be in kh for hooouuurrsss#i feel so strongly about it lmao#nebuvoid#kingdom hearts#final fantasy xiii

this blog is private meaning i will only interact with mutuals. and while i'm open to all fandoms and crossovers, i reserve the right to not follow back if i 1.) either don't see our muses interacting, 2.) your blog is full of picture posts, 3.) you don't tag your triggers. proper roleplay etiquette and human being sense is required when following me, aka don't be a douche, ableist, racist, homophobe, or proshipper.
i'm not affiliated with any of the fandoms i write.
regarding triggers, they will be appearing on this blog in form, but not limited to, angst, violence, depression, mentions of war, mental health and ilnessess. everything will be tagged accordingly. smut content will be found on this blog only with muses off age and rather scarcely.
i'm not a fast writer, nor do i have the time to reply daily. please don't rush me when it comes to writing because the more you rush me, the less i'm likely to actually reply to you. this is a hobby and i'll always treat it as such.
my portrayal is primarily based on canon material from shows, games, mangas and visual novels, mixed with headcanons i've created for my muses. if you ever have any questions about my muses, feel free to approach me!
muses are multi-ship unless stated otherwise. i do accept mains and wish to be granted the same privilege if i were to accept you as mine. if we ship, i give and expect ship exclusivity. let's have fun. :')

for ffxiii-2 anniversary here's a reposting of something i wrote last year about its importance:
i once came across a criticism of the ffxiii sequels from an og ffxiii fan that argued that ffxiii-2 moves serah backward by returning her to a position in which she's once again dependent on her sister. now i could argue against that itself a dozen ways, starting with ffxiii in fact not resolving serah's development at all and ending with sibling relationships and reliance as well as healing never being linear in the first place, but my first instinct was to remind people they need to be viewing everything the larger context of the trilogy's message to understand why it was really so groundbreaking and beautiful.
ffxiii-2 is not so much a story of “serah being dependent on lightning” as it is that of a girl fighting to steal back her last remaining family member (not only for herself but so that her sister can live out the life she deserves), “growing up” through understanding why her sister left, and imbuing herself with the same will as she chooses again and again to fight for something bigger than herself just like her sister did.
“some things in life you just do.” where lightning and serah were once each other’s purpose, in ffxiii-2 they're given other purposes to weigh. lightning becomes entrapped as etro’s champion and chooses to go along willingly at the cost of her own freedom and leaving her family behind because her survivor's guilt and empathy make her feel like she must atone for all the death and destruction she caused in ffxiii. serah protects the timeline with full knowledge of the seerees’s fate because her survivor's guilt makes her feel like she must atone for all the death and destruction she caused in ffxiii-- and thus is the sisters' triumph and tragedy.
the ffxiii trilogy remains a subversion of the traditional fantasy trope where "women have to sacrifice themselves and their happiness to save the world" specifically because of the uncompromising lengths lightning and serah (and fang and vanille) are allowed to go successfully as they choose to find each other again and again and never leave each other behind, even in death, all while saving the world. serah's journey in ffxiii-2 is paramount to this theme, and only through these sequels where serah is fully afforded a voice and a vision does this theme become fully appreciable.

song challenge.
share at least 5 songs that you associate with or remind you of your muse.
Away - Final Fantasy XVI OST (This is considered as Joshua's "Theme" in the game, and I just love this song so damn much! The entire soundtrack is amazing, but this one will always feel a bit more special to me because it's his song haha :3)
I See Fire - Ed Sheeran (Well, Joshua is the Dominant of the Phoenix so of course this song resonates with him! I feel like it can be a lot related to the events of the Night of Flames, but also to the way the Phoenix is considered by the people in general and especially by the people of Rosaria.)
it's time to go - Taylor Swift (This is pretty much how I see Joshua's relationship to the Undying. At first he was grateful, but the more he saw the real world during his journey, the more he realizes they messed him up in some ways, so he's distancing himself for them.)
Million Years Ago - Adele (This song can be related to Joshua in a way that his duties were thrown to his face very early in his life, and it never stopped until he reunited with Clive. He's nostalgic about these moments he could spend with his family in Rosalith before the Night of Flames. He already felt pressured back then, but not that much!)
Stand By Me - Florence + The Machine (I know this is a FFXV song but to me it suits Joshua so much too! I feel like he really finds his strength through his love for his loved ones. There really is a shift in his personality when he reunites with Clive and Jill and starts meeting the Hideaway crew, and I think this is very beautiful!)

am I pretty much recycling Serah Ivalyn into Matcha?
Yeah and no, they share similar themes of being grass themed and leaving their family to strike out on their own
Though Matcha has more than a few years of parenting and adventuring under her belt at this point
and is prolly a bit more dominant cause of it ;y
