The line was long, though, and she had a feeling she wasn't going to be able to get in and out like she wanted. She moved behind another in line and bit her lip. It was early still, having taken the dogs out prior to the sun rising and returning just after it had risen, lighting up the neighborhood. "Want some coffee?" He turned as he heard the quiet padding of her feet.

"I mean, I know," he thinned his lips, "I'm sorry for your loss," he knew he had said it before, "I guess I just hadn't realized you and your husband were going to move here permanently. Not that I'm complaining." These words brought a smile to his lips as he set down the glass of wine for Ari that he brought back from the bar for them. "Are you settling in well?"

PLOT DROP 19: NEW ARRIVAL

It has been almost exactly a year since the last time that Prosperity was on Kraysha. For the crew that have been with the ship since that time, perhaps this time will be different. Another year older, another year wiser, another year more complicated.

As some examples.... For Theo, who left Kraysha in a state of grief, is this too soon? For Skylar, this may be a more joyous occasion- to spend some time with his husband and his beloved adopted parents together in a place perhaps more familiar than Kor’Sel’Koo. For Laurie, there is always the chance that she encounters her out-of-touch Umbra parents. For Beck, a longtime pirate, this is the first time returning to her home planet not as a member of the crew of her cousin. For Robin and Ryder, there are so many complications with their parents that it is difficult to summarize them all.

✧･ﾟ: *✧･ﾟ:* 　　 *:･ﾟ✧*:･ﾟ✧ Some hours after arrival in the city of Rungung, the crew got settled in. Daphne had an announcement to make. After observing the past week’s competition between Skylar and Vajean and much deliberation, Skylar had been selected as the new Chief Engineer, with Laurie definitively promoted fully into the Electro-Technical position.Additionally, Prosperity would finally be gaining a new Surgeon after being without one since November. Samira Kehmet would be joining the ship’s crew shortly.

Apart from the most personal of issues, there is always the upcoming “quest” set upon by Karmel. Karmel has chartered a smallish seaship (capable of air and surface water travel) for Beck to fly. Ali has agreed to join this quest, as it seems to require a djayyar. After this journey to a remote island, Karmel has agreed to find her own way back to Kor’Sel’Koo. Those with skills to contribute and an interest in going will be paid handsomely, but the contents of the cave and whether the secrets of immortality are too dangerous a risk. Daphne will not be going, but will permit unpaid leave to those who do (as they will be paid much more by Karmel in this instance).

“The Quest” will tentatively take place beginning May 20.

Those who do not go on the the quest will be granted a small stipend to cover a few meals out or entertainment at shore. Robin will be left in charge temporarily of this portion of the crew, as there is still ship maintenance, meals, communications with the quest crew, and supply purchasing to arrange. The crew may not be quite as busy, but Daphne has expressed privately to Robin that this is a low-stakes test for him to flex his leadership ability.

But why does this opportunity come up in the first place? Daphne will be taking this time to visit with her parents and ensure that everything was in order with their company... She disclosed the “why” of this information by message to Robin, Beck, Skylar, Ali, Muffy, Arys, and all of the medics with directions to let the rest of the crew know. She didn’t want to make a big announcement about this matter because she already didn’t feel comfortable discussing it in a town hall format. (Daphne neglected to mention to her crewmates that she would be reviewing other topics like the Makhaira matter)

Once Samira was at least settled enough to be considered “welcomed” onto the ship, the crew will be (variously) doing some work unloading some of the goods that were acquired from Earth, negotiating, scoping out the job market, and... possibly trying to avoid The Bat Ray and Galx authorities (Ayshena, Havok, Hael, Selleck) whom Greg reported have been spotted in port!

The line for sweet treats at Seaside Bakery was longer than Logan would have wanted for a morning as her stomach growled with the anticipation of all the delights. Once the line had dwindled, she was next, leaving herself to order far too many pastries and desserts. Truthfully, Logan didn't know where she'd start first and which she'd bring home and maybe she'd stop by Matt's and bring him some as well. After paying, she turned to find a table when she saw someone else sitting alone, "Okay, feel free to say no, stranger danger and all," Logan approached with a comical tone, "I may have overbought and don't know where to start. Care to help me out?"

This one is for Kerra and her Wyld Hunt, but also her and herself/her trauma in some ways. To pick out a couple key bits, this first verse is Baby!Kerra:

This song is very Cal--to the point that when I heard it for the first time, I immediately put it on their playlist. First of all, the first line is "Create with me a work of art", which is perfect for them. Second, there's a couple more bits that I'll highlight.

This gives me vibes for how they felt leaving Ascalon and heading to Kryta over two years after the Searing:

This bit just is...kinda how they are as a leader, and (in the first couple lines there) a bit how they are as a romantic partner to Daisy:

And overall, it's just very them. "Let's see what we can do", indeed.

This one is Nabi, and though it's kinda bouncy, it's related (to me) to the fact that she chose to fight a lifelong battle against the Ministry of Purity and made a huge impact on the world by doing so, even if she couldn't stop them completely. Anyways, my point is that this is her:

I mentioned this one the other day, but this is a song for Brook and Casca--they're both the couple that's distanced from each other according to the lyrics and the couple meeting in the music video for the song. They find each other after years apart and thinking that the other is most certainly dead.

This song is the reason that Daisy's mother's name is Grace. She has a very close bond with her mother, who more-or-less raised her alone from the time Daisy was five.

One of the songs that I think was originally intended to mean something slightly different, but it's on Nisha's playlist, because in the context of xem, it sounds like a Nisha-falling-in-love song. Letting down walls, being willing to get hurt, letting others in.

Now, this song--this song I would make an animatic to if I could. It's very accurate to Casca's anger towards Weylon for his betrayal of their warband, as well as each of their individual struggles with forgiveness. Casca never intends to forgive him, so she doesn't take on the burden of forgiveness. Weylon struggles for years, after fully taking in how wrong his actions were, with forgiving himself. He's the one who needs to forgive here, not her. She's done.

Akane Tatsuki (茜 樹) - [he/him] The leader/"conductor" of TWT. Standard idol heartthrob, and absolute fuckboy. Imagine Sakasaki Natsume, except he's actually an awful person and he's steal your wallet if given the chance. As much as I'm mean to him, he's very charismatic and fiercely loyal, caring deeply about the people he's close to, and would sacrifice anything if it means the safety of his family.

Seong Ari (성 아리) - [she/her] The saxophone player, as well as the background producer, of TWT. Girlboss. Takes on as much work as possible, overworking herself very often. Paired with Tatsuki, they often resort to tactics that are... less than savoury to get their way, with plans provided by her. Can often resort to "silly" means to get her way, but very no-nonsense otherwise. Ingests enough caffeine daily to kill a horse.

Iwasaki Kaito (岩﨑 快斗) - [he/him] Trombonist of TWT. Incredibly physically strong, often using his physical strength as the backbone of his image, but crumbles when approached with any situation that cannot be overcome with brute force. Very emotionally vulnerable, uses this to connect on a deeper level with people he knows, far deeper than those around him. Filled with love. Don't hurt him.

Taguchi Chihiro (田口 千尋) - [she/her] Flutist of TWT. Rather timid, but not dreadfully anxious. Is always seeking some form of identity, knowing very little about herself and wanting to experiment to see what fits her. Tends to enjoy the simple pleasures in life, choosing to move at a slower pace than her peers. Although she doesn't think highly of herself, she's more than happy to uplift those around her.

Furukawa Shiori (古川 汐里) - [she/they] Trumpeter of TWT. Claiming to be the "hero of all", they want to make sure everyone is playing by the rules. Unfortunately, this does not often mean "established law", and is closer to "rules she made up herself". Chaotic good. Butts heads with anyone who tries to do anything "wrong" in their eyes, making enemies fast. No fucking chill. Zero.

Welcome back to another special edition of my astrological chart readings… Today we have Seonghwa.

✦ Disclaimer I do not know him personally, no harm intended, others may interpret differently. I’ve been studying astrology for six years, and I take this seriously and try my best. Feel free to ask any questions you have! This is not a full chart reading, just a couple of interesting things for his birthday.

✦ Sun, Mercury Rx, Mars, Saturn conjunction, Sun conjunct Midheaven in Aries (Tenth House) Quick rundown, when I found out that if you swap the characters in his given name (성화 seong-hwa to become 화성 hwa-seong) and it means Mars, well… Aries is ruled by Mars. They’re inherently connected in astrology as they have the same energy. And he has four planets and his Midheaven all in Aries, which is crazy! Things that seem fated.

Back to the actual analysis. Stelliums, or three or more planets in one sign, are common occurrences. He has two stelliums, one in Aries (Sun, Mercury, Mars, Saturn) and one in Aquarius (Venus, Uranus, Neptune).

There is an overall need to be noticed—he wants to be recognized for whatever he achieves, and he will achieve things because he’s determined enough to and has the iron-clad will to get him through any trials he will come across. Despite this need to be noticed, the Aries Sun thriving in the spotlight, he has a penchant for being sensitive to how others perceive him, thanks to Saturn being here as well. What others say about him matters. He wants to conform, yet he wants to rebel. It will take a while for him to come out of his shell, but when he does, it’s wonderful.

That Mars-Saturn conjunction is the most interesting because it’s the most powerful, the domicile Mars overpowering the exiled Saturn. Someone who is simultaneously afraid of conflict yet constantly testing his will in extreme situations. Impulse vs steadfastness. There are many ways this can be interpreted, though for brevity I will say that part of him will always need to let his individuality out, his need for independence, and there’s a battle against authority going on inside of him at all times.

Mars-Saturn sesquiquadrate Pluto, the patience and depth is astounding… Endurance, survival, in it for the long run. When he devotes himself, he devotes everything he has. He’s all in. He doesn’t know how to do things halfway.

Mercury-Mars conjunction, a quick thinker, though with Mercury in retrograde, it may come out unplanned or not as it should be taken. A little witty, a little silly… Bored easily.

Sun sextile Uranus makes him open to being a little quirky and odd, more willing to associate himself with people who don’t fit in, and that Venus placement emphasizes this, too.

✦ Moon in Cancer (Twelfth House) This is his chart ruler, an overpowering presence in his chart. Moon rules over what is secure, emotions and the presence in the home. Whatever is in 12H bleeds into the collective consciousness—your feelings are his feelings, and he isn’t sure where yours end and his begin. Extremely sensitive to whatever and whoever is around him. There needs to be a…refined aspect to this though. He doesn’t like to deal with anything too unpleasant if he doesn’t have to. It’s good that he has the Aries and Aquarius to offset this, the doers of the zodiac, otherwise he could get too stuck in his own head and avoid confrontation altogether in order to keep the peace. I suppose one could also associate this placement with someone who lives in a chaotic home, many unplanned things happening all at once, though it could also mean someone who wants to maintain a perfect home, perhaps in spite of the chaos. Since Moon and Cancer both are associated with the mother, this could also mean an idealization (12H) of all motherly or homely things.

✦ Venus in Aquarius (Eighth House) I sort of covered this when I did Hongjoong’s chart reading a month ago, but it’s likely that Seonghwa runs very hot and cold with people, very either/or. Venus doesn’t naturally like to be here. He has a lot of walls… Once you’re in his circle, you’re in it permanently—unless you betray him somehow, which would be the ultimate offense. Very protective over others. Uranus in 7H emphasizes the hot-cold of his personality, though he has 7H of one-on-one relationships in Capricorn and 11H of friendships in Taurus, so whatever friendships and relationships he does have are long term. He probably likes to give gifts of some kind to others, an exchange of sorts. “I do this for you, you do this for me.”

✦ Final thoughts Seonghwa is a very passionate and devoted person. He simultaneously wears his heart on his sleeve but keeps his cards close to his chest… Everything must surface eventually though.

I don’t talk about parents because I do not wish to speculate, but I do feel like he’s very similar to his mother in a lot of ways due to all of the planets in tenth house and his Ascendant being in Cancer.

The rainy weather was not something that Mason enjoyed about living in Kismet Harbor. Not that it didn't rain in Nashville, but it seemed to rain more and more the last few weeks. Mason held the umbrella over the two of them, guiding himself and his wife towards the entrance. Grabbing the door for her, he let Ari in before he shook of the umbrella and closed it up before following in after her. "I booked us a reservation for lunch," he told her, approaching the hostess who took them to a table, "and then we have the wine tour and I figured we could go downtown afterwards, check out one of the music shows?"
