I said once before that I had a Brotherhood AU planned for Julie. She becomes a Sentinel, and is tasked with creating an elite group similar to Lyon’s pride. I’ll occasionally post some artwork of those members and their code names!
Senior Scribe Haylen

"Individually, any of them are a force to be reckoned with. Their skillsets would contribute greatly to any mission they're enlisted for, and I can only envision their careers to be full of promise. It is unfortunate, then, that whenever they're together without a clear goal in mind, they seem to revert to their more juvenile instincts. This is to say, in blunter terms, that they are often very, very stupid."

"Come on, wait up!" Root's own voice calls out.
She blinks and looks around. Her eyes widen, seeing her stand in a field. Grass and flowers gently sway around her, many of the flowers being orchids.
A figure rushes past her.
Root runs past herself.
She turns her head, eyes still wide to spot herself running up to a tall woman with dark blue hair, and.. a pink hedgehog?
What..?
Root slowly moves forward, her cloak not even rustling the grass. The version ahead of her seems so different but so similar.
The blue haired woman says something she can't make out. The words are murky and muffled, yet the voice is so familiar. The other her seems to grow red in the face. Embarrassed, maybe?
"Not my fault that I wanted to get her a good gift," the other her grumbles. "— likes those types of things so — he helped me out too."
Root feels her chest tighten. This was a memory and she wasn't getting the full thing. She reaches out a hand.
No..
The world around her fades.
No..!
Root blinks, and she's somewhere different. Shades of red and other dark colors comfort her eyes after the light from before. Again, a version of her (the past her, maybe?) walks past alongside someone.. very, very tall. Very armored too. Yet, around Root (or the other version of her) he seemed relaxed.
He said something, and once again, it was muffled and murky. His voice seemed deep but loud, and yet it brought a sense of.. comfort to Root. She knew him.
Or, at least, she used to.
Root quickly rushes after the two when she realizes they're getting further away, and her own voice giggles. "It's not like I meant to trip — on my roots! Her — are —!"
The taller man seems to laugh at that, and he gently flicks the other Root's nose, which makes her laugh. The duo seem to fall into comfortable conversation, with the past Root asking questions about where they were, and the man answering.
Root didn't get to hear any of it, as she faded away again.
She opens her eyes again, and she's standing on sand. She's staring at the back of her's and another's head.
"We'll.. always be together, right?" The past her asks, turning her head to look at the other.
The other seems to laugh, and a voice that tugs at her heart comes. And yet, still, it's murky and muffled.
"I know.. it's just.." She pauses. "Sometimes I feel like I'm.. you know.. — and you'll —"
The other girl seems to giggle gently. She leans against Root, pressing her head against Root's a bit. She says something, and it makes the past her relax.
As Root's vision fades, she's become aware that she's crying.
○●○
She jolts awake with a small gasp. Her eyes quickly meet Lyon's, who was looking at her with concern. She looks around before exhaling, seeing that she was at the camp. The camp outside the Aabid Ruins.
"You okay?" The man asks softly as she gets up from her sleeping bag and walks over. She sits down in front of the fire with him.
"Yeah.." She nods before sighing. "Lyon, can.. can hedgehogs walk on two legs?"
That seems to catch the man off guard. He pauses in tightening his bow string before frowning. His rabbit ears twitch.
"Hmm.. I mean, there's the Wilders in the mountain ranges," Lyon explains, setting down his bow. His blue eyes catch the light of the fire as he scratches his cheek. "But even then, among the full-on animal Wilders, I've never heard of a hedgehog one, much less a pink hedgehog one."
"Mm.." Root looks down. "What about any.. Roamers?"
"Us Roamers are always hybrids," he responds with another shake of his head.
She let's out a despondent hum. Lyon frowns. "Did you.. remember something?"
"Maybe," Root answers honestly. "I don't know. All I know is that.. it made me really sad.."
Lyon gently ruffles her hair. "Maybe we'll get the answers in the ruins. Now rest up, kiddo, we got a long day ahead of us."
She nods and heads back to her sleeping bag. She curls up under it and falls into a dreamless sleep.

Choose Your Legends 8 ended with lots of surprises, and it's time to celebrate!
I've seen concerning amounts of salt and bashing on the games involved or not, so this will be a positive post! I'm tired of the fandom's dumb takes and toxicity so let's praise everyone for the amazing scores and stories that unfolded during this vote!
First let's start with the link to all the official CYL art since Year 1 of FEH, enjoy the trip down memory lane!
https://fire-emblem-heroes.com/fr/sp/illustrations/
(I nabbed that chibi Soren right away, bless Kita Senri)
CYL 8 Male winners:
🥇1: Alfonse | A beautifully deserved win for our well-written OC lord who keeps the story of Heroes entertaining with his crazy one-liners and unhinged plans, with more tender moments with his family and friends to soften him. I hope we get to see him grown-up like Legendary Veronica.
🥈2: Felix | I love seeing non-lord characters emerge from the voting. His voters have shown their supports 4 years in a row and it paid off! Especially nice win because Felix has been shafted by IS with a silly seasonal and an ok god-sword pre-TS unit.
CYL 8 Female winners:
🥇1: Bernadetta | Just like Felix, her voters lost to circumstances (aka the surprise Gullveig sweep), so I'm glad for them! Plus her post-TS personality should force the writers to tone down the moe nervous trait that flanderizes her character.
🥈2: Female Robin | She's finally free to be in the common summoning pool as herself, not Grima! She has too few alts to her name, and she marks the first time both genders of an avatar have won CYL, so good job!
About the Engage non-sweep, don't get disheartened! The votes for Engage were equal to Three Houses, but they were split between A LOT of fan favourites for both genders, while the FE3H fans rallied one last time for 1 male and 1 female representation, without competition from their lords. It's a respectable result, and the bashing on Engage is disingenuous and undeserved.
I've seen the top 5 from each game and I'm happy to see Finn up there for Thracia and Mae for Echoes. I hope to see Linoan soon, and other alts for Berkut and Rinea. People rallied for Athos to get in the game already, for Lloyd to have new art, for Seth and Titania to get the stats they deserve...
Fan favourites like Lyon or the Black Knight still score high. Azura received love. Even Elincia who's already been very lucky in 2023 got in the top for PoR and RD! I love to see people rally for a Sentinel Nephenee too.
We continue to see Leo and Takumi side by side, chilling in the male top 20 like BFFs. It's adorable.
This CYL8 follows in the steps of CYL7 with no main lords, only favourites and avatars.
Next year I hope to see Jugdral and Elyos win, but for now I'm happy with the 4 we have 🥰

A RWBY fallout AU ask: jaune could be a brotherhood of steel knight and ren could be a scribe and the cook of the unit under the leadership and guidance of elder lyons what are the role of pyrrha, nora and team rwby I know yang could be brawler of some fight club.
Y'know, I also made a New Vegas AU with Jaune and Nora. But yeah, let's see where this goes...
--------------------------------------------------
So, looking at the Lyons Hierarchy of Fallout's Brotherhood of Steel, (which by the way there are a lot of variants, so thank you for narrowing it down for me), the different caste rankings would be...
Squire -> Initiate -> Knight/Scribe
With the split off between knights and scribes, the latter maybe holding about the same ranking, according to the chart, as a knight captain, the hierarchy looks like this from there...
Scribe -> Senior Scribe -> Proctor -> Head Scribe
Knight -> Knight Sergeant -> Knight Captain -> Paladin -> Star Paladin -> Sentinel -> Elder
Pyrrha, I feel, would be of a higher rank than Jaune in the Brotherhood of Steel, maybe even a paladin, while Jaune just barely ranked up from initiate.
Nora, I would argue, would be of a higher rank than Jaune, maybe a knight sergeant or even captain. Why? Simply for the fact that when comparing how they all arrived at Beacon, Jaune knew less than everyone else there, including Nora, who uses explosives. You've gotta be smart AND crazy to use explosives.

DELILAH TIME DELILAH TIME
here she is. officially. my beloved fallout 4 oc delilah !!!! first piece done by @zetobii and the second by @leavingautumn13
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i dont draw so all art of delilah comes from my dear friends who draw her for me/with their ocs and tell me i can post it OR from commissions. what i can do, however, is write <3 and make playlists and pinterest boards for visuals <3 so prepare urself <3
speaking of which, you can find her playlist here and her pinterest board here!! theyre chronological, so listening/scrolling in order should more or less tell her story too
ok so: her appearance, personality, stats, story, and some fun facts are here under the cut (its a lot fyi ok i just love her so much) pls enjoy
delilah lore (delilore?) be upon ye:
appearance:
24 years old, 5’10”
very fair skinned with bright green eyes and jet black hair
her hair is wavy and flows down to the middle of her back. she has one small braid behind her right ear
covered in freckles, from her nose to her knees. she has a tiny scar above her mouth from a past split lip and a slit in her opposite eyebrow from a past black eye
midriff is heavily discolored from past bruises - the pigmentation never fully went away - and marred with keloid scars from deep cuts from things she refuses to talk about. if her dress has a high enough slit, bruises can peek out near the very tops of her legs
large black kingsnake tattoo wrapping up a her left arm with its head near her shoulder and its tail near/on her hand
she can almost always be found in her wine-colored silk dress that reaches only about mid-thigh, nails manicured and lips painted to match. it has spaghetti straps and is loosely bodycon.
she wears stacks of gold rings (as many as possible, really) and dangly gold snake earrings
the only things she keeps on her person are the dagger and the gun strapped to her thighs under her dress. her gun was a gift from KL-E-0. it is a custom gold-plated, silenced 10mm. lilah named it "Mine"
stats:
if fo4 had a karma slider, lilah would land pretty firmly on evil. on a dnd alignment chart, think chaotic neutral or neutral evil
SPECIAL: 2, 8, 2, 10, 7, 4, 3
she's not strong nor has much endurance, but when you're as smart, perceptive, and charismatic as she is, you can charm people into carrying your stuff for you anyway.
her perks are party girl (alcohol/chem resistance), black widow (damage/persuasion against men), night person (higher int at night), and intimidation (pacify, instruct, and force opponents to attack). and deacon's cloak and dagger, of course.
personality:
cold, calculated, distant
cares about very, very few people (and even fewer things) but is fiercely loyal to those people. she's a railroad agent, but only because deacon cares about the cause and she begrudgingly cares about deacon
she and deacon clash. he refused to even vouch for her admission to the railroad. she gets along much better with glory, but she still gets assigned to run jobs with deacon because they keep each other in check and are deadly efficient as a pair (theyre also in love but they keep it a secret from everyone including each other)
she cares about very very few people but it fiercely loyal to those people. she is a railroad agent, but only because deacon cares about the cause and she "begrudgingly" cares about deacon (she cares literally so much do not let her fool u)
her moral compass is not magnetic. right and wrong is whatever she wants it to be. she takes no issue killing people if they wrong her. sexual harassment or subterfuge/targeted deception send marks to the top of her hit list.
her story:
her birth name is allie eden
she is not a sole survivor; she was born into the capital wasteland chapter of the brotherhood of steel. despite sentinel lyons' best efforts, delilah responded far better to scribe training than to combat training
she and arthur maxson were the only two kids in the citadel, and they became fast friends, even after the lyons pride crumbled and maxson was appointed elder.
he appointed her his sentinel, second in command, which she embraced until she saw how terribly the wasteland was faring under his leadership.
she promptly absconded and, because she had been so sheltered until that day, quickly lost herself to chems and alcohol.
months passed in, thanks to all the blackouts, what felt like hours. one night, allie woke up in a warm bed that she did not fall asleep in. a man named dante deangelo had pulled her body from a D.C. gutter and made sure she was safe.
in no time, they fell in love and decided to escape to the commonwealth. they found a small, basement apartment in goodneighbor and allie began tending bar at the third rail.
dante, slowly but surely, became more abusive. he left bruises and deep cuts on her body anywhere her third rail uniform would cover. she stayed, though, because she'd been raised by the brotherhood to believe that love was harsh and painful. to obey without question. to submit to authority.
eventually, she tired of that life and snapped, killing dante before he could leave any more marks on her. something... shifted. maybe it was allie eden who entered their apartment that morning, but it was delilah who left it that night.
KL-E-0, who was quite fond of allie and is far fonder of delilah, fitted her with pistol, Mine.
instead of hiding behind the bar like she had when she was with dante, she began to use it to her advantage. every dusty drifter with full pockets full of caps left her bar empty handed. but it wasnt enough.
she began targeting triggermen, who she knew were peddling chems for... someone in goodneighbor. the moment a man started flirting with her (which she hated), it was like a red dot sight appeared on their foreheads. she'd seduce them, take them back to her apartment, get her caps and chems and information, and the men would never be seen again.
morowski, goodneighbor kingpin, eventually approached her at work about his shrinking pool of chem peddlers. they struck a deal: he would slip her into his operation as his newest arm candy, and she would peddle his chems at her bar.
it worked flawlessly until morowski actually fell in love with her. go figure. unless, of course, that was lilah's plan all along...
while she's still participating in this farce with morowski, she meets drummer boy, who she ends up truly enjoying the company of even despite her general distaste for men. eventually, he convinces her to join the railroad with him
because morowski is in love with delilah, she has no issue squeezing information out of him when deacon asks her to: morowski is an institute informant. lilah quickly, uh, deals with that problem, and the next days, morowski is found dead in his office at the rexford. cause of death: self inflicted gunshot wound. what a tragedy.
because delilah was his "other half," his unofficial widow, she inherited morowski's whole chem operation
now, she happily spends her days directing the triggermen and tending her bar - for fun and for information, at this point, because she certainly doesnt need the caps. when she needs to run for the railroad or her beloved friends need her professional black widow skills, whitechapel charlie is "happy" to cover for her. as happy as he can manage, anyway.
fun facts:
she is terrified of storms, heights, and violent outbursts from people she trusts
her name comes from the bible story of sampson and delilah, where delilah is paid by the government to seduce sampson (a man of god) and tempt him to sin by telling her what gives him his inhuman strength. after three attempts, she is successful. sampson tells her that god gives him his strength through his hair. she then cuts his hair, which ultimately leads to his death. i mean what a bad bitch
she is still deeply unhappy even after she wraps goodneighbor around her finger because she still doesnt know who she is
she's skeptical of maxson's move to the commonwealth. she is very much on the run from him (and the bortherhood as a whole), and ham happily vets drifters for her to ensure theyre not undercover brotherhood before letting them into the bar.
she and maccready arent exactly "friends" but they harbor mutual respect for each other since they spend so much time together. mac had to call her off like a guard dog when winlock and barnes paid him a visit, so shes confident he would do the same if the brotherhood ever came knocking.

The Aabid Ruins were a maze, it was decided quite quickly. Massive bones of divine animals and beings towered over the land, growth, and vines curling all around. Pillars of stone and rock jut out from the ground, casting large shadows.
That, and the cultists swarming about.
From far off, the two sentinels watch as the group fight them off. Magic, arrows, knives, and swords are used against the cultists, making Sentinel Alivs hum.
She tilts her head. "Two Beyonders." The three eyes floating above her head blink. "The rest fron Espi."
Sentienal Cato's scorpion tail flicks. "Destined to return?"
"If they themselves allows it."
The sentinels continue to watch. The eyes of Cato flick off to one of the Beyonders — Root. His eyes blink a few times.
"Hm." He hums.
Alivs turns her head. "Hm?"
Cato nods. "Hm."
The two continue to stand by the large ribs of an ancient dragon. They watch as the group defeats the cultists, and makes their way to them.
"Hello, adventurers," they greet the group.
"Sentinels.." Hilde looks amazed.
"Were you watching us the whole time?" Lyon looked exasperated.
"Fate does not allow us to intervene when the threads are tied," Alivs answers, extending a paw down. The group all gets on, and the sentinel sets them down on a large rock.
"Sentinels, we need your help," Hilde speaks as she walks up. She's frowning. "We need to figure out what the cultists want and why the emperor wants them in the kingdom."
"So we can kick their asses!" Alexander adds.
The sentinels turn their heads to look at each other. The three eyes that each had slowly blink before Cato turns his head.
"They wish for the rise of the Mar and Kaiah," Cato answers. "They reside all over this continent."
"Why?!" Xavier frowns deeply. "They're already powerful enough!"
"You know we cannot say."
It's quiet before Root steps forward, placing a hand on her chest. "Sentinels.. Arun said that.. you know everything. Is that true?"
They nod, and Root inhales slowly before exhaling. She looks up at them with a serious look. "Do you know where Alexander and I came from?"
It was a question that had been haunting her for ages. It was something that was clawing at the back of her mind.
They nod, and she pushes forward.
"Is there.. any chance we go home?"
She doesn't know why she's asking this. Curiosity, maybe? Who knows.
She certainly doesn't.
"It depends on your decisions." Alivs finally answers after a few moments.
Root glances down.
Well, isn't that reassuring.
○●○
Plurality chews on the pen in her mouth, staring at the theory board. After a few moments, she takes it out of her mouth and crosses out the 'developer took them' theory. It just didn't make sense in the long run.
She stares at the board more before exhaling, closing her eyes. She pauses to think before frowning.
She wishes she could just ask Database to open her a portal there, but that would be an entirely different computer, and the developer's copy. The Code Manifestation knew it was probably possible, but very, very risky.
And right now, she couldn't risk anything.
Root taps the pen against her lips as she thinks. She remembers Lil Coding recounting how Ozymandias apparently didn't know where Root had went, and he was being surprisingly honest.
She wonders..

Just Sarah
A little Fallout 3 Sarah Lyons and Three Dog friendship fic I wrote as part of Fallout February for @halkuonn / @ninthcircles -- contains swearing, but so does the game, so it’s fine right?
“Sentinel Lyons, the broadcaster would like to speak to you, ma’am.”
Sarah Lyons took off her helmet and sighed. They had just finally finished taking down the Super Mutants that had trapped the infamous Three Dog in his station for the last two weeks, and it would make sense that he would want to talk to her, as the leader of the Lyons’ Pride squad. But it wasn’t often that she didn’t even get a chance to clean the blood off her power armor before whoever it was they rescued wanted to speak to her unless they were immediately in front of her. Someone of Three Dog’s “status” was usually more formal, and wanted a chance to meet the entire squad, or give some kind of gift in return.
“Thank you, Scribe Jensen.” She had protested her father’s decision to send a small group of young Scribes along with the squad to gather information from inside the station and the surrounding area, but ultimately it was the Elder’s decision. She was just glad that there weren’t any unnecessary; these new Scribes seemed to actually be able to stay out of the way of her Knights in a firefight.
She passed several of her Knights on the way to the staircase, holding her helmet on her hip and letting her gun stay in its holster on her waist. She wasn’t about to go meet someone new while unarmed, regardless of Three Dog’s status or reputation.
Or how much she secretly enjoyed his radio show whenever she was in broadcasting reach.
She climbed the stairs with what she felt was an appropriate amount of caution. Sure, she may be meeting someone new, but she had no logical reason to be afraid or cautious at all, so she allowed herself the minimal amount of caution possible; the part of her that always remembered her training was not allowing a complete lack of caution.
Still, she almost felt she was overthinking it. She had heard Galaxy News Radio many times over the past couple of years, and though she had never met Three Dog before now, she knew that whatever he wanted to talk about, she was probably approaching the situation far too formally.
She came to the door and hesitated for a moment, her own enjoyment of the show giving her a wave of nervousness, before she pulled herself to her full height and knocked.
A familiar voice called out, “Sentinel Lyons, come on in!”
Hearing his voice say her name made her nervousness both escalate and melt away.
She opened the door and saw Three Dog leaning back in his chair with a cigarette in his hand and his feet on his desk. He grinned when she stepped inside, and threw his arms wide.
“There’s the Brotherhood Badass of the hour!”
“It is a pleasure to meet you.” She said almost stiffly.
“Oh, cut the formal bullshit. I’ve heard so much about the famous Lyons’ Pride and how you’re the best of the best of the Brotherhood of Steel. I am honoured, truly…” He stood and gave a low, sweeping bow. “…to meet the famous Sentinel Sarah Lyons.”
Sarah’s breath caught in her throat and she choked for a second before she replied in a shaky voice. “You’ve heard about me?”
“Course I have. Though you’re definitely younger than I thought you’d be, kid, with all the accomplishments you got under your belt. There’s nothin’ that goes on around the Capital Wasteland that I don’t know about. I got eyes and ears everywhere, and people like to talk a lot once you get them going.”
“That is definitely true.” Sarah agreed.
“You’ve heard my show before, right, Sentinel?”
              “Yes, sir.”
“Shit, Sentinel, don’t call me sir.” Three Dog let out a laugh that did genuinely sound like a bark. “I don’t outrank you and I certainly ain’t becoming part of your Brotherhood anytime soon to change that.”
“Would you prefer I just call you Three Dog?”
He grinned again. “That is my name, isn’t it? Don’t wear it out.”
“Alright.” She was certainly still a bit uncertain on how to approach this conversation. There weren’t many people around her that she called by their actual names instead of a title, and not many people that seemed so casual when they talked to her. Usually she was talked to as a Sentinel, with a certain level of respect and awe, and while it was fitting of her status, it was occasionally lonely.
“So, Sentinel, I wanted to ask if the Brotherhood would like to form a partnership relationship with yours truly. I need protection, and you guys need a place to bunker down away from the almighty Citadel.”
Sarah thought for a moment. It would certainly be beneficial, and the Brotherhood could use the inside information that Three Dog seemed to be so good at obtaining.
“You don’t have to give me my answer right now, if you gotta go talk to some higher ranking person, or your dear ol’ Daddy Lyons.”
Sarah resisted the urge to roll her eyes. “I don’t have to consult anyone about where the Lyons’ Pride decides to make their base. I just have to inform them of decisions I make.”
“Well, then.” Three Dog raised an eyebrow and smirked a little. “You can make your decision however fast or slow you want. Just try to keep those green muties away from me in the meantime, if you don’t mind.”
“You have a deal, Three Dog.”
              ~~
“And here she comes again.” Three Dog grinned and threw his arms out as she walked in the door, as had become the usual.
“Good afternoon, Three Dog.” She let a smile drift onto her face.
“So, Sentinel – fuck it, can I just call you Sarah?”
This took her off-guard more than anything he’d said over the last three days that the Lyons’ Pride had been camped out here, and she had talked to him twice since first meeting him, each meeting bringing more unexpected conversation than the last. It was incredibly rare for someone to address her by her first name.
“I… I suppose.” She responded, still surprised.
“What’s with that face? Nobody ever call you by your own name before?”
“Not very often. I’m always just Sentinel Lyons, or Knight Lyons or Squire Lyons before that, or the Elder’s daughter. I only ever get called Sarah by my father, when I am being scolded.”
“Well, shit, Sarah.” Three Dog gestured to the chair in front of his makeshift desk. “Take a seat and stay a while. I don’t bite.”
Sarah hesitated less than she initially had at his door when she’d met him for the first time, but the hesitation was still there; was this even appropriate?
“I won’t tell your dear daddy that you’re out on the field making friends instead of killing zombies and muties.” He teased.
She felt her face flush somewhat as she took the seat.
“You can take the power armor off too if you want to.”
“It’s too much hassle.” She lied dismissively. Truthfully, it would feel like she had crossed a line of their formal relationship to take off her power armor when meeting with him.
Three Dog looked at her with a raised eyebrow, seeming skeptical, but he moved on anyways. “So, you never had a friend before or what?”
“I have friends.” She said almost defensively.
“The members of your Brotherhood Badass squad don’t count, Sarah. They’re your subordinates. They gotta like you or else.”
              “That’s not true.”
“Really? You ever get to know any of them off the field? Do you know Paladin Vargas’ favourite colour?”
              She didn’t respond.
“Everybody needs friends, Sarah. It ain’t healthy for someone to be ‘Sentinel’ all the time. It’s gotta be lonely.”
              ~~
“You ever been in love, Sarah?”
Out of all the questions Three Dog had asked her over the last two weeks in his mission to become her friend, this one was among the most unexpected.
She leaned back in her chair – as always, still wearing her power armor – and looked up at the ceiling, thinking back to the Scribe she had lost her virginity to when she was a teenager. Was she in love with him, or was he just entertaining because of how much her father disliked him? “No.” She said after a moment. “Have you?”
              “Yeah.”
His answer surprised her more than the question. She looked back at him and he removed his sunglasses – a rare occasion, but it had happened a couple times when their conversations got more personal.
              “Want to talk about it?”
“His name was Jonathan.” He paused after that, seeming to study her face for a reaction, but he wouldn’t find one. Some Brotherhood members would have been offended by the reveal, but it was neither offensive nor surprising to Sarah after two weeks of daily conversation with the radio host. Besides, she knew of several queer Brotherhood members, and none of them performed their duties any worse or differently than the ones who were not.
“I met him in Rivet City while I was stayin’ with my friend Shrapnel. He was a caravan guard, and they were just supposed to be passing through. But through God’s hand or some weird shit like that, the gal he was guarding got sick with something, and they had to stay for a good bit while she recovered under Doctor Li. You ever met her?”
              “Not that I remember.”
“She’s fun. She’s got that no-nonsense doctor attitude, but I got her drunk once and she went on about this guy she used to have a crush on who married her best friend and had a baby with her... anyway, not important. Jonathan had to stay in Rivet City for like two weeks or something, and so one night I offered to buy him a drink, and we got to talkin’ and he said something about an ex-boyfriend, and I was all excited, because not everyone talks about that shit out loud, you know?”
“Yeah, I get it. One of my squad has confided in me about it in the past, and I learned that some of the others in the Citadel are less than pleasant about it.”
Three Dog scanned her face for a moment. “It’s Dusk, isn’t it?”
Sarah blinked. “How the fuck would you know that?”
He chuckled. “The queers always know, Sarah. I call it the ‘gay-dar’. That’s trademarked, don’t steal it.”
She let out a laugh. “That’s pretty clever.”
He smiled. “Anyway, so I told Jonathan I was into dudes too, and he started flirting with me, like right away. He kept talking about how he wanted to take me back to the Weatherly and show me a good time. So I told him that he better live up to his word.”
              “And did he?”
“Do I look like the kinda son-of-a-bitch that kisses and tells, Sarah?”
              “Yes, actually.”
Three Dog laughed loudly. “Alright, you got me there. Yeah, he definitely lived up to it. And he kept livin’ up to it for the next couple weeks while he was there. We didn’t just stay in the Weatherly either – we would walk around the boat, even walk around outside as long as at least one of us was armed. It was usually him, since I’m terrible with guns.”
“I can teach you to shoot sometime.” Sarah offered.
“Nah, I don’t like them much. But Jonathan was a real good shot. He could get one of them feral ghouls from two miles out with a pistol.”
“No kidding? Maybe I should recruit him to the Pride.”
Three Dog’s smile was sad. “He ain’t gonna be much good to you unless you like corpses in your squad.”
“Shit, Three Dog, I’m sorry, I wasn’t trying to –”
Three Dog held up his hand. “How would you have known he was gone? I hadn’t finished my story yet.”
Nearly a full minute of semi-awkward silence followed. “You can finish the story now, if you’d like.”
“Well, I already spoiled the ending.” Three Dog chuckled under his breath. “There’s not much else to it. One day Doctor Li said the caravan chick he was guarding was cleared to go, and they had to take off. A week later, some other caravan guard came to Rivet City sayin’ that a group of them had been ambushed by Raiders and a bunch of traders and guards had died. I asked him about Jonathan and he said he didn’t make it.”
              “I’m sorry.” Sarah said again.
“Why are you sorry? It’s not like you killed him.” Three Dog raised an eyebrow and smirked, but the smile wasn’t in his eyes. “Unless you’re a Raider in disguise and haven’t told me.”
“I promise I’m not.” Sarah stood up, suddenly making a decision. She took a few steps away from her chair and a hissing sound escaped her power armor as she stepped out of it.
Now in just a deep red jumpsuit, Sarah looked back at Three Dog and opened her arms as if displaying herself. “Just me.”
Three Dog chuckled again. “Wow, you just lost about 100 pounds in thirty seconds. The other girls must hate you.”
Sarah let out a laugh. “I figured after a personal story like that, we’re friends enough for me to step out of my comfort zone more – literally.”
He put a hand over his heart and gasped dramatically. “We’re friends, really? I’m friends with the great Sentinel Sarah Lyons?”
She snorted. “More like you’re stuck with me now, Three Dog.”
He smiled, and it finally reached his eyes. “I guess I can tell you my real name now.”
“Really? I thought your name was really Three Dog.” She said sarcastically.
“I’ll tell it to you if you agree to come be a special guest on GNR.”
              “Not on your fucking life.”
[This was my first time writing for any Fallout game and it’s been a while since I played 3 so it may be a bit out-of-character, but I hope it was enjoyable!]

lone wanderer oc vs courier six oc
lore down below, if youre interested:
so im on unoriginal bitch but my lone wanderer and courier six are one person, CourierSix!Fall being 29 years old (i am following the canon timeline of the game as well as the age of the player character, so LW!Fall is 19 when she left the vault)
her lore is based on my first playthrough of the 3d fallout games (my Sole Survivor is related to Fall, being a distant, distant, DISTANT relative 200 years up in the family tree), so here's a rundown.
LW!Fall takes after her father, being studious and looking up to him. she grows up to be smart and was slated to be the next vault doctor under her father's guidance when the events of the start of fallout 3 happen. thrust out into the unforgiving wasteland and forced to learn so much in such a short time, she meets burke in megaton and, after trying so hard to keep her cool with moira and her endless perilous errands, LW!Fall rigs the atomic bomb in the heart of the small town to explode. she blew it up due to burke's offer as well but shh
shes proficient with energy weapons and is surprisingly agile for someone who's led a barely active lifestyle the past 19 years in a vault, sticking to the books and all. she's traipsing between good and evil morals that both the regulators and the talon company constantly jump at bounties put on her head because she can really just flip the switch between being an angel solving all your problems and overall someone you could rely when you need to know something/get something done, to downright apathetic trigger-happy marksman who can clear the entire room in seconds (GRIM REAPER'S SPRINT BABY).
storyline follows the game, as usual, she finds her dad, helps him with the project, everything goes downhill, LW!Fall meets President Eden and fucking short circuits the AI in their first meeting and runs out of the Enclave HQ as its destroying itself as payback for General Autumn killing James after LW!Fall swore she was going to kill the man and made sure he heard it. then she finishes project purity, elects to contain the radiation in the heart of the purifier rather than sentinel lyons, gets radiation poisoning and is saved by the brotherhood, goes to the pitt, kicks ashur's ass and takes the baby for the greater good yada yada.
being an honorary member of the brotherhood and with things looking up for the DC area, LW!Fall really has nothing else to do other than to wait for her to be called on by the Brotherhood for guidance or special missions. there's nothing really left for her there since her dad is already dead and both the organization and the man who killed him are dead. on top of that, she feels EXTREMELY guilty about what she did to megaton, though she never told anyone else she did it other than James who sussed her out from the start.
she left for the Mojave, starting over and working as a courier, where life is quiet and she never had to pick up a gun ever again, though clean water is hard to find, but she gets by.
then the events of new vegas happens and thus starts Fall's emergence to be Courier Six. albeit this time, with experience from her Lone Wanderer days, she's a calmer, more rational, still trigger-happy but at least the energy is now focused on using it for the greater good, loves hacking terminals and snooping around, learning about the old world more and more, being chill with yes man and actually talking it out with people rather than shooting first.
tl;dr: local retired vaultie just wanted to rest only to get bopped in the head. proceeds to let the mojave find out that the person who changed DC has been with them for the past 10 years
