It is an age of upheaval. Rival clans have begun to form within Hyrule, splitting the once united kingdom into separate territories, each ruled by fierce shogun-like fighters. The strange period had been formed thanks to the strange occurrence...

The Hero of Legend was not born. For the first time in ages, the Princess of Hyrule has little power, their rule puppeted by a demonic Shogun who bares resemblance to the old prophesized King of Evil.

Deep within a territory unclaimed by the ruling clans of Hyrule, a forest brimming with spirits protects a young girl named Robin. A strange mark appears upon her hand one day, followed by the sudden voice of the gods...

"Restore peace and unity to Hyrule... Bless it with your light, as the SUN must do."

In this timeline, Link was never born. Zelda is a princess in the court of Hyrule, with very little power. She remains but a priestess inside the court, searching for visions to try and unite the warring factions of the kingdom together again. All at the same time, strange demons and yokai have begun terrorizing the country.

Robin is the protagonist of this story. Her brother is taken away by demons, which leads to her chasing after him and slaying the demonic forces puppeted by that universe's Ganondorf, who resembles an old samurai warlord.

Fighting as both wolf and swordsman, Robin goes around Hyrule purifying nature and the hearts of those swallowed by the dark hatred the Demon Lord has spread.

This iteration of the story was inspired greatly by shows such as Shōgun (2024), games like Ōkami (2006) and movies like The Tale of the Princess Kaguya (2013) and Princess Mononoke (1997).

There was little time to think before he acted. Those people would probably get the scare of their life, or with some chance think that this was all a setup to liven up the old temple, but at least they would get away with their life.

"Stay here! And make sure nobody else goes towards the well!" He instructed the poor visitors, his fangs on full display. He disappeared with a leap, leaving the couple to wonder just what kind of creature they had just encountered.

Relief washed over Inosuke as he saw the youkai collapse into the well. She did it! She was pretty awesome, when she wasn't getting on his nerves–

"NATSUKO! WATCH OUT!!"

Too late. The monster's claws had closed around her ankle, and dragged her down into the cavity. By the time Inosuke reached the edge of the destroyed well, they had both disappeared from view.

No time to think. Keep moving, keep moving!

Inosuke leapt down and closed his eyes, wishing with all his might for the well to take him after the youkai and his poor captive. He felt a strange warmth where he kept the second shard stored, urging him to reach down for it and hold it tight in his fist.

He emerged with a gasp, blinded by the sunlight that poured into the other side of the well. A quick leap, and he emerged into the large clearing, still clutching the little jewel. The demon had gotten a headstart, but its trail was easy to follow.

"COME BACK, YOU BASTARD!! LET HARUKO GO!!!"

Inosuke gave chase with great leaps, and soon caught up with the beast. His body felt lighter all of a sudden, newfound strength pouring into his legs, his arms, fueling his entire system with power beyond anything he had known before. He gave a grew swing of both his clawed hands, aiming to sever the monster's arms from its shoulders.

He failed to notice that he was no longer holding the shard.

On the first occasion, she hadn't noticed, but the second mishap with her name when Inosuke urged her to action registered somewhere in the back of her mind. Haruko didn't care much -- there was a much more urgent matter at hand. The monster had finally found them.

It was angry. And it was wounded. She could have made it, but she had to be careful.

She held her breath, the shard held tight in her fist. She lifted her hand to get the monster's attention and shouted at its direction.

"You! Ugly thing! Right here!"

The monster's eyes focussed on her at unison and it let out a gurgling growl. One heavy step after the other, it headed, paced, ran at her direction. Blood dripped down her neck, its teeth were as sharp as razors, but Haruko kept her stance despite her knees begging her to give up and run. Or maybe she was actually petrified by fear, who knew.

When the monster leapt at her, she barely had the time to throw herself away, rolling in the dust. In an attempt to turn just as suddenly, the monster tripped, its knee bumped against the well. It let out a shriek of protest and thumbled down the well with a crush, the stones demolished on the way precipitating on it.

"Yes!" Haruko exhulted; she turned around, looking for Inosuke, shaking the hand that still held the pink shred. "We made it! Inosuke, we made it! We--"

The rest died in her throat; a large hand reached out of the well and clasped her ankle, claws piercing her skin. With a last glance at the sky and a terrified shriek, Haruko disappeared in the well, dragged down by the monster, with the pink shred still withing her grasp.

Demon Slayer AU where everything is the same except Yoriichi is a ghost.

He’s corporal/people can see him, he can change his appearance from when he was a kid to when he was old.

He follows Tanjiro around. They met sometime before the Hashira Training Arc for sure, but how early depends on what the writer decides. Has he been there since pre-canon? Or did he show up after the Entertainment District Arc (would honestly make most sense since Tanjiro didn’t know about Sun Breathing until after Mugen Train, but again this is an AU).

He meets Muichiro, and after it clicks that he’s Michikatsu’s descendant Yoriichi follows him around too, eager to be close with the family he could never have.

Depending on when they met, Yoriichi could help Muichiro recover is missing memories earlier than in canon.

Other things about/to include in the AU:

Kamaboko Squad centric (Tanjiro, Nezuko, Inosuke, Zenitsu, Kanao, Genya, AND Aoi and Senjuro)

each member gets a one-on-one interaction with him at some point, which will add to their own personal character growth

Whether or not Yoriichi can physically interact with others is up to the writer

making him able to fight demons seems kinda OP, so unless the writer can find a way to make it make sense about how he can maybe don’t do that

maybe he can exude enough strength to stun demons, but not fully kill them

can he pick things up, or do they just pass through him?

He helps train Tanjiro, making him more proficient in Sun Breathing

this can give Tanjiro more time to hone is Water Breathing. It always irked me that Tanjiro didn’t practice Water Breathing as much when he discovered Sun Breathing (don’t quote me on that, I get my info from TikToks and reaction videos. But why learn two breathing styles and not increase your skill in both?)

this can allow a Giyuu training session in the Hashira Training Arc that we didn’t get to see

Expanding on Yoriichi changing his age: I feel like the older he presents himself, the more power he would have. So when he’s fighting, he’s somewhere between his 20s and 80s. However, because this takes up a lot of energy, when he’s not fighting he’s typically in the form of himself as a child or in his teens

whether or not his mentality/maturity is affected when he’s at different ages is up to the writer so long as it’s not portrayed in an erotic/kinky way

Yoriichi can give tips to the Hashiras that those in the Sengoku Era used (information always has the potential to be forgotten, so maybe there were some tricks that were forgotten about?)

can provide more information about Muzan and his weaknesses, since he was the only swordsman who came close to killing the Demon King

Interactions with Lady Tamayo and Yushiro!

Fluffy moments! Slice of Life, Found Family, all the tropes! Let him be the father to the Kamaboko Squad that they never had/lost (let him have the chance to be the father he never got to be)

the way that Sanemi treated Genya was cruel and frankly unacceptable; he could’ve gone about it in a much more mature manner

Hello, I really love this au ‼️i have a question tho, how is the divorce court thing going for Kokushibo and Muzan ? 😊

The divorce court could NOT be going worse…

But on a serious note, while Kokushibo and Muzan did not actually go to Sengoku era divorce court, both of them lost a lot when Kokushibo decided to defect.

Koku, obviously, lost his status and rank.

And Muzan lost his strongest demon— as a massive narcissist, he did not take it well. In his centuries of life, no one had ever defected before, certainly never in any meaningful way.

Right here I have to make a confession, because I have a kind of obscure headcannon between Muzan and Kokushibo that majorly affects Muzan’s next actions here.

So… does anyone else find it weird that Kokushibo is even… uh, around??

Let me explain what I mean; Why the fuck does a cowardly, egotistical demon king keep around a subordinate that physically resembles the one person who gave him cellular PTSD?

Everything we learn about Muzan shows how ready and eager he is to take out demons who bother him, (like we see with the lower moons for a failing that wasn’t even theirs), just makes me think this is a really weird choice. To a point, he lets things slide, like with Akaza and Rui weakening themselves, but no matter how strong Kokushibo is, I genuinely believe that it would be completely in line with his character to kill Kokushibo for being a walking reminder of his most powerless moment.

Then, it occurred to me; Kokushibo is Muzan’s subordinate, a man he renames, brands and commands. He reads Kokushibo’s thoughts, and always knows what he’s doing. Muzan orders him to obey, and Kokushibo accepts this role passively. I imagine that having control over Kokushibo is soothing to Muzan’s ego, almost like by asserting influence and control over Kokushibo, Muzan takes back control from Yoriichi.

Which is also why Muzan really, really freaks out when Kokushibo defects. He can’t ever accept not being perfectly powerful and in control. He orders every demon alive to kill Kokushibo, but it’s not enough. Muzan needs to have something real on Yoriichi— but with Kokushibo vanished, the only thing Muzan has is Yoriichi’s old, dead body.

And thus begins Muzan’s deranged side quest to Frankenstein Yoriichi’s dead body into that of a demon subordinate!!

It works out, but it mostly does not work out. The Upper Moon One Yoriichi is closer to a thoughtless demon automaton who happens to wield a mimicry of the real Yoriichi’s skill than actually Yoriichi

Anyway, long answer short, the divorce court was settled quickly, and Muzan rebounded with Michikatsu’s brother as revenge

Brief Profile.

Meanings:

•Arundhati- Washed by the rays of the sun

•Ayyadurai- Clever

‘Aru’ - [A shortened version of her first name.]

A name she allows those who struggle to pronounce ‘Arundhati’ call her + used by most (if not all) acquaintances and close friends.

Date of Birth: December 5th.

Place of Birth: Kerala, India.

Positions/Occupations:

[Former]: Undergrad at California Institute of Technology (Caltech).

She got a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry with a minor in Aerospace Engineering.

[Former]: Model.

An international ambassador for luxury brands [ie. Chanel, Dior, Prada, etc]. Her responsibilities included participating in model campaigning for companies, attending shows and managing brand publicity. She enjoyed her work quite a bit and started working at the age of 20.

[Current]: Kunoichi.

She’s worked for several spy masters of the Sengoku Era. Notably, Mochizuki Chiyome and Takeda Shingen. She currently serves as one of Shingen’s famed Mitsumono.

Current + Most Notable Relationships with the Canon Cast:

Sarutobi/Mikumo Sasuke: Her canon partner.

Arundhati’s main ship is with Sasuke.

Takeda Shingen: Shingen is a father figure to Arundhati and in turn he sees her as a daughter.

Uesugi Kenshin: Kenshin and Arundhati come to see each other as siblings. Oftentimes he will call her his kunoichi (much to Shingen’s ever so slight displeasure considering she is one of his Mitsumono).

—> In truth, Arundhati is both a Mitsumono and a Nokizaru (unofficial but everyone who knows her also knows that she’s just as loyal to Kenshin).

Brief Background (pertaining to how she traveled back in time):

Aru’s story starts in Paris where she was finalizing arrangements for her marriage to one of her closest college friends and Michelin star chef, Gaël.

She’d been dating Gaël for a few years at that point and didn’t think twice when accepting his proposal. However, their relationship hadn’t always been the best but both parties were trying to ignore how fast it was all falling apart in lieu of focusing on their respective careers.

It all truly burns down when Aru gets a message from her manager informing her of a particularly amazing opportunity to take part in a modeling campaign and establish her own makeup line based in Kyoto. She found it absolutely perfect since both her father and elder sister Ichiyo were based there (context: Aru’s mother, Janaki Ayyadurai, divorced Aru’s father and remarried a Japanese businessman, Harue Akiyama, when Arundhati was eight. Harue coincidentally had a daughter named Ichiyo. Arundhati and Ichiyo became two peas in a pod in record time and have been each other's closest confidants ever since). Ecstatic, she ran into Gaël’s arms when he came home from work that day to tell him the news. Yes, it would mean pushing back dates of their engagement by a few months, potentially close to a year but that wasn’t too much to ask, was it? After all, the opportunity Aru had in front of her wasn’t likely to pop up again. To her it was now or never and she thought Gaël would be supportive.

Gaël was not supportive.

Gaël was furious.

He lashed out at Aru with venomous words, questioning why she refused to get a “legitimate job” with her degree that she’d worked so hard for. In the end, he proposed an ultimatum: the job or being his bride. Heartbroken and rather furious herself, Aru was forced to realize just how awful her relationship with Gaël really was, how little he valued her and how unhappy she was through it all. She ended up breaking off the marriage, the engagement, all of it, then and there.

She booked the next available flight to Kyoto and was off.

She arrived in Kyoto in the wee hours of the morning, entirely unaware that by midnight of that very day, she would find herself 500 years in the past.

But before that, a party.

Arundhati had texted a group chat of her closest, most valued people in her life (apart from her parents) about the situation. She needed good drinks and her loved ones. And thus, she found herself surrounded by friends and cheer in the penthouse apartment her father had bought for her and her sister, overlooking the sparkling cityscape of Kyoto.

That night, after a few too many drinks, the group found themselves wandering the city. They come across the Honnoji monument when thunder claps in the distance and lightning flashes across the sky. A torrent of rain whips down upon them all and in a matter of moments, they’re gone, separated, sent tumbling through time and space- spread far and wide across the Sengoku Era (also yes, the others in the group are all my other OCs for this verse).

Arundhati arrived in the province of Iga in the year of 1578.

(this would be roughly around the time Sasuke arrives in Echigo and four years before Mai in Azuchi).

Now, “arrived” is a rather plain way to put it. You see, she actually happens to crash straight through the roof of one Mochizuki Chiyome’s home. Chiyome would go on to become one of Arundhati’s very first mentors. She teaches Arundhati all the ninja arts in her possession, shaping her to be a legendary kunoichi. While her life is an undeniably dangerous one, it’s also quiet, still and on a good day, tranquil.

That changes two years into her time in the Sengoku Era.

Takeda Shingen, a famed warlord characterized by his brutality in battle and vast, interconnected network of spies, the Mitsumono, comes to hear about some “bronze blade”.

In all honesty, he thought it to be some funky, insane new weapon at first until he heard various accounts and realized they were just about an insanely talented ninja. A ninja who was ridiculously hard to find.

Yet the second the tracks point towards Iga, he’s able to contact someone who most certainly knows quite a lot about this “bronze blade”.

To keep it brief, Shingen and Chiyome are contacts of one another and he manages to get Chiyome to introduce Aru to him. Rather, he gets Chiyome to let him spectate a training session she takes part in anonymously.

It's worth noting that by this time Ichiyo had started a life in Echigo and had mentioned a few times that she had a sister who looked nothing like her, a foreigner and thus, Shingen knew right away that he was looking at Arundhati.

Things go very quickly from there. Shingen reveals his identity, the fact that he knows where Ichiyo is and that he is willing to take her in as a Mitsumono. She accepts and begins the new chapter of her life in the Sengoku Era in Echigo under the banner of the Takeda.

Aru is reunited with her sister and is a crushing, humongous, gargantuan disappointment to Kenshin who thought Shingen was going to bring back a funky blade to spar with. Arundhati responds to this by saying she would very much like the opportunity to kill him. Kanetsugu then recoils in horror and Kenshin has found an addition to his very small collection of favorite people.

Something I admittedly do not touch upon as much as I should is the effect that such a drastic life change has on Arundhati. This feels like a rather obvious point but I do want to mention it. Aru is light, she’s naturally a warm, welcoming, magnetic person. People find themselves drawn to her because she is charismatic and is able to charm a crowd with ease. At least that’s how she was before traveling to a much darker, much colder time.

Her experience as a ninja obviously reshapes her, changes very core things about her. Here, Aru is otherworldly, distant, detached- just as bright and eye-catching but unreachable, ethereal. Only a handful of people (the court of Echigo, and a few others) can see past that veil.

It’s also worth mentioning that Arundhati is not always a kind person, nor an understanding one (she tries to be but does fail at times), at least not right after the events of traveling back in time.

Even though she is perceptive and loyal, she can be equally as ruthless, have tunnel vision and has lost a part of her compassion throughout the years as a result of what she’d been through herself and what has been done to others. That being said, Arundhati grows. She learns to find the light she once lost and slowly becomes a new version of the person she once was.

high school au is basically kimetsu gakuen au for idiots squad and i have so many things i wanna write about it heheheh

Kimetsu Gakuen!AU

- actually i'm behind on the kimetsu gakuen series so i can't remember the exact name of tanjirou's class, but just know that he's the vice president of the class to ayame's class president

- ayame is actually very very busy. she's also vice-captain of the kendo club, she has an acapella group with zenitsu, nezuko, kanao and genya, on top of her class duties

- i feel like the only time ayame actually relaxes is when she's hanging out with tanjirou, zenitsu and inosuke. i mean, there's still plenty of shenaniganery happening there, but it's the kind she doesn't have to think about, and she finds it relaxing

- tanjirou does not find his friend group relaxing at all. they're his main source of stress, actually

- he still wouldn't trade them for the world

- ayame and tanjirou, naturally, grew up as neighbours, but in that kind of detached way where they just kinda revolve around each other rather than actually interacting with each other

- they only became actual friends after tanjirou's father passed, actually. the kamados practically lived with the higuchis after tanjurou's death. by the time their first year of high school started, tanjirou and ayame definitely saw each other as friends

- they're the only ones who think they're only friends

- hanabi and kotoha were friends, so after inosuke was found, hanabi kinda adopted inosuke as her own. not officially, but inosuke is a common sight in the higuchi household. akihiko is thrilled bc he basically has a little brother now - in addition to tanjirou (who he already sees as a future brother-in-law and "Just what the hell is that supposed to mean, Niichan?!"), takeo, shigeru and rokuta

- i've mentioned this before in passing but tanjirou is part of the baseball club! a fave idiots squad activity is going to school baseball games where ayame and zenitsu trash talk the opposing team and inosuke gets into fights with mascots

- he just really wants to be the school mascot dammit

- listen. LISTEN. one day i will write that kimegaku tanyame one shot titled "five times tanjirou wondered what ayame's lip balm tasted like + the one time he found out without asking"

- also i can imagine that there's a school festival and the kendo club jokingly puts theirs as a kissing booth, not expecting it to get approved

- uzui sensei is a troll and thought it was very flamboyant

- u can imagine how panicked tanjirou was. also zenitau, but that's bc he's the in-universe president of the tanyame club and he can't have ayame kissing some other person and falling for THEM instead

- guys it's just cheek kisses for 100 yen. no one is going to fork out a thousand yen (roughly $10) just to kiss ayame on the lips

- zenitsu also starts up a small fund for the thousand yen so tanjirou can finally kiss ayame

- "come on, tanjirou, it's for charity!"

- charity my ass. u just want tanjirou and ayame to kiss and u don't care what it takes

- i don't know how this ends, i just like the idea of zenitsu and tanjirou actively sabotaging people who try to get kisses from ayame. inosuke is also sabotaging but that's more of a happy coincidence than criminal intent

Canon compliant fics follow the canon exactly and don't alter the setting or canonical plot events too drastically. An example of a canon compliant fic would be for example a retelling of a specific scene from another character's point of view.

Modern AU

Modern AU is a fic that takes place in a contemporary setting instead of the work's canonical setting. In SessKag, modern AU fics are typically set in modern day Japan. They can either still feature youkai and miko, or be all human AUs as well.

Canon divergence

Canon divergence fics follow canon up to a point. They take place in the canon setting and may follow the canonical plotline fairly closely, before they began to spin off to their own direction. "What if Kikyo didn't die?" "What if Kagome never went back to the Feudal era?" "What if Kagome met Sesshoumaru first?" are all types of canon divergent fic scenarios.

Historical AU

A fic that takes place in an alternative setting that's in a different time period than the canonical setting. For SessKag, this could be anything any other time period than Sengoku era and up to the 1990s. SessKag in Heian era? Meiji era? Regency England? Any other time is a fair game.

Missing episode, or a missing scene fic, is canon compliant fic that is set between specific canon events, but it is a moment that's never actually shown to the audience.

Fusion AUs are types of crossovers, where you take the plot and/or setting of Fandom 1 and the characters from Fandom 2 and mash it all up. If you see a fic described as "SessKag Star Wars AU" or "SessKag Pride and Prejudice AU", those are type of fusion fics.

Pre-canon, or pastfic, is a fic that is set before the events of the canon. It could be a flashback or delve into the character's backstory.

Fantasy or Scifi AU could be any kind of AU that incorporates fantasy or scifi elements in it. It could be a fairy tale retelling, some kind of a Isekai scenario, a Fae/Werewolf/Vampire AU or a zombie apocalypse.

Broadly, this could mean any canonical reunion scene. With SessKag, though, the type of canon divergent modern era reunion fics where Sesshoumaru and Kagome meet again in modern day after Kagome never returns to the Feudal era are popular, so I had those in mind when I chose this theme.

All human AU

All human AU is an AU in which the characters that are not human in the canon (e.g. Sesshoumaru) are human. High school or College AUs are a popular type of an all human AU. An all human AU does not have to be set in a modern day, however.

Post Canon

Post canon or a futurefic is a fic that takes place after the canon has ended, usually several years later.

Royalty AU is a type of an AU story in which one or several characters are a member of a royal family. *here we go againn.* She rolled her eyes as she looked at michikatsu and then to tengen who has just asked her out again for the 100th time today.

"Tengen, my answer is never gonna change so please stop asking me." She politely answered again slowly losing her patience while michikatsu glared at him with jealousy and anger.

"It'll change one day, especially when you realize just how handsome and perfect I truly am~!" He stated in a singsong voice but when he opened his eyes he was met with no one. "Damn, she left again."

She sighed as michikatsu put her down when he knew they were at a safe distance. "I'm gonna kill him." He said through gritted teeth trying to keep his cool. "Don't do that besides they don't know we're together so what exactly do you expect from em?" He thought for a moment realizing she was right but still hated they even dare think they have a chance with someone like her. "Y/n." He said more calmly. She tilted her head to show her acknowledgement. "I have to go on a mission soon, promise me you'll be able to take care of yourself." He said in a more worried tone as she smiled at him and hugged him tightly. "ofc."

He was gone for a really long time and sanemi began joining in again, since it was mainly uzui and sanemi to try and shoot their shot. It went from compliments about her face to unusual compliments on her body.

Sanemi couldn't stop getting extremely close to her, they would be inches away from each other while uzui would almost corner her, since michikatsu was around she has no one to protect her but she knew he would be home soon and the constant flirting would soon relax a little.

Sanemi and uzui couldn't seem to find her anywhere, they looked in every spot she'd usually be in so they both began looking in rooms.

"ah-"

Both their ears perked up, there it was your voice it wasn't really faint so you were near, maybe you were playing hide and seek with them as hit your head.

"Mph!"

Two sounds? Maybe it wasn't a game and she was touching herself to the thought of them. Their smirks built up confidently walking towards the door but the door was cracked open so instead of inviting themselves in the just listened for a little bit.

"Michi, please is.. fuck.. is this really appropriate, I mean here now? Anyone could walk in!" Her breath was heavy and it was almost difficult for her to speak, both boys curiosity got the better of them as they peeked into the room their eyes widening at the site they were seeing.

Y/n's back arched as pressed against the wall, her legs spread completely open for all eyes to see, drool dripping from her mouth and tears streaming down her face, her kimono lazily hanging off her shoulders, as michikatsu has her pinned completely to the wall his cock plowing her brains in mercilessly.

"The only way we'd get caught lovely is if you keep making those sweet sweet sounds~" his voice was raspy and his thrusts were hard and never losing rhythm, it was like a melody he's played many times, he continued to say sweet things to her after that since he missed her so much.

Hello! I would love to do this! I actually thought it would be fun to use my OC, if you don’t mind! I have been so focused on Shingen’s and my OC’s interactions in the modern AU fic I am writing that it would be nice to write a date with them in the sengoku era.

A summer date.

The warm summer’s sun was shining down brightly upon Kai, specially in the commercial area where the shops were flooded and business was flourishing smoothly. It was the perfect time for a date as well, shingen had decided to take the day off so that we could go out and see how things were going in town. With my own work in the kitchen of the castle and as the lady of Tsutsujigasaki castle, we were both too busy to have a proper date in a while.

Personally, I have always preferred our private dates, like having a picnic under a tree or enjoying a casual boat ride. Even just moon gazing was perfect for a date to me, but I was never against public dates such as these. I enjoyed looking around Kai with him, to see his people… our people.

“There are quite a lot of people today. Think we can find a good tea shop to have a seat?” His tone of voice was cheerful as he looked around, a smile gracing his lips.

“You are always thinking about the sweets at the very start of the date.” I gave him a halfhearted scolding while poking his cheek lightly, not able to contain myself from smiling. “If we can’t find one, we could always give the market place another walk until a seat is available.”

His hand held mine tightly, as protectively as possible the closer the crowd was. “While that sounds great, I can’t let my angel walk until her feet get hurt. At one point I will need to carry you.”

A giggle escaped my lips, despite his words being silly, I knew for a fact that he was serious about his statement. Turning my head around, I managed to see many shops selling a myriad of different items. “There are so many beautiful things being sold, it’s good to see Kai like this.”

“I am happy that I can live to see Kai like this.” That made me turn my attention back to him, that content smile on his face made my own heart flutter. His gray eyes turned towards me as we stopped walking right in front of an accessories shop. “Your hair looks specially beautiful today, but it is missing something.” Shingen ran his fingers through my loosened hair, turning his attention to the vendor. “Excuse me, I would like to see all of your hairpins.”

My face was tinted with red at how sweet and quick he was to buy something for me. “You are being too sweet, but i don’t think I need a new hairpin.”

“Would it convince you if I said that it’s a pleasure to me to buy things for you? Specially if it means I can dress you up in beautiful clothes and accessories?” His hand found its way towards my face, where his thumb gently ran across my lower lip, that infamous wink already convincing me.

“I see you haven’t changed even after getting married, my lord.” The vendor spoke with enthusiasm, casually smiling at shingen. That was something you wouldn’t normally see around this era.

“What can I say? There isn’t a day that goes by when I don’t worship my angel.” As he spoke with the vendor, he looked around the hairpins that were put in front of him.

“My lady, surely you would like to have a look around yourself? There must be something here you will like.” The vendor beckoned me to look at his accessories as well, which I happily did.

As I was distracted by the beautiful items on display, I felt something being delicately placed on my head. Shingen was placing the hairpins on my hair, likely to see which one looked the best. “Hmm… this isn’t good.”

“My lord, is there something wrong with the hairpins?” Both the vendor and I became worried, since it was unlike shingen to seem displeased with something.

“On the contrary… all of these look too perfect on Selena, I am inclined to buy all of them.” He said it with a straight face, as if his words were serious. Though, coming from shingen, he likely was being serious.

“Am I to understand that I have brand new accessories for this season?” I didn’t hate the idea, having brand new accessories to innovate would be nice, but too many was just overwhelming.

His smile was enough for me to understand his intentions, normally i would decline so many, but the vendor seemed so happy with the big purchase that i couldn’t stop him. Perhaps i could give some of these hairpins to the maids at the castle, they would surely love them.

We decided to keep walking around the market area, looking around the shops with enthusiasm. I myself insisted on buying things for shingen, I noted that the gifts should be ocean themed, I knew how much he loved it. It was only when the sun was finally setting that we noticed we were both tired and hungry, though it seemed like the tea shops were mostly flooded.

“Looks like there isn’t any spot available… and i don’t know if we can walk around the market all over again.” Even though I was the one who suggested it, i couldn’t bring myself to walk more.

“Unfortunately, it seems like you are right, but I didn’t have any intention of eating at a tea shop today.” I looked at him with confusion since early he had said otherwise, shingen only gave me an easy smile without answering my question. Before I could question him, shingen scooped me up in his arms, something he said he would do. “I know you don’t enjoy long walks, it’s surprising you walked this much around the market place with me.”

“W-well, I was enjoying our time together, so I didn’t really mind it.” Despite how comfortable it was in his arms, I began feeling self conscious about being carried by him while we were still in public.

But I suppose it wasn’t a surprise to people here that their lord was very affectionate, so it wasn’t as embarrassing as i thought it would be. Although i didn’t know what he was planning, i decided to trust shingen and let him carry me to where he wanted.

The path shingen took was confusing to me, since it seemed like we were going back to the castle. I looked up at him to try and understand what exactly he was planning.

“I can hear your thoughts.” Those words brought me back to reality, which made me notice that we were, in fact, going back to the castle.

“You are acting suspiciously. You never miss going to a tea shop whenever we are out in town, and you even wanted to stop by one.” I finally made my questions explicit, though i imagine that it wasn’t necessary, he knew what I was thinking.

“I did say that, though I must apologize for deceiving you, angel.” Shingen finally put me down, taking my hand so that he could guide me back to the castle. “Actually, there is something I prepared for when we got back.”

That made me excited, anticipation building up within me. I let him guide me through the corridors of Tsutsujigasaki, until we were in front of our bedroom door.

“Your surprise was in our room?” My head tilted to the side lightly, as I wondered what was inside. Shingen was quick to act when he noticed my confusion.

“Both of our work has kept us from doing anything other than sleeping from being tired. I thought it would be nice for us to have a relaxing day in town and enjoy our evening here.

Shingen slides open the door to our room, revealing the table to be filled with sweets and sake, as well as our futon neatly arranged near the table. Everything was ready for us to only leave the room next morning.

A gasp escaped from me as i noticed all of our favorite food waiting at the table. I quickly glanced his way to notice that warm smile on his face. “Selena, won’t you spend this evening solely with me?”

I immediately smiled at that, throwing my arms around his neck so that I could steal a kiss from his lips. He helped me up as I had to stand on the tip of my toes to reach him. “Of course I will! It’s too sweet of you to prepare all of this.”

To others, it might not seem like much. But given all of the days when we didn’t get to spend that much time together, a date inside our room where we could be alone together was just… perfect.

KNY - Spiderlily AU (Lore)

People always thought monsters and yokais were a thing but, of course, no one had any evidence.

One day in the whole land of Hokkaido the Sun didn't rise, the sky was covered by a thick layer of black miasma. Later that day, some feral monsters, looking like mutated wild animals, started attacking the population, eating and killing them. Soon an order of warriors was commissioned to hunt down demons, hundreds of warriors died, sword skills weren't enough to face such a menace, for this reason they started using breathing tecnique, no one knows how they learned them but they're helping so no one asks much.

The truth is that seven warriors were so desperate to catch the attention of the Seven Princes of Hell that granted them power in exchange for their loyalty. Every Prince asked for three people (Lucifer wanted four because he's more important). They gifted them with strength and with the ability to summon and manipulate elements (yes, breathing styles here are literal magic). In every generation there must be twenty two slayers, called "Hashiras", because their task is to protect and support humanity during difficult times.

[ the name "Spiderlily AU" is because after this event Hokkaido became even colder, snow didn't melt and the only flowers that kept blooming are spider lilies, not only red or white ones but also orange, blue, yellow, purple, black, green and pink ones.]

A hundred years before a war started, alongside with famines and pandemics, reducing the world population to a bit more of one million, the demon problem isn't solved and the Hashiras are still a thing.

This generation is determined to end this plague once and for all, even if the world has already been destroyed by humans actions and natural catastrophes.
