Architecture tour around Sendai with an architect was really interesting even for me like not having much knowledge. Also we can feel how things change in Ito Toyoo, and how reflect his mind in both Sendai Mediatheche and House for All in Natori. (...I realized I have pictures of Sendai Mediatheche only inside...oops) Also another thing I'd like to mention is, at Sendai Mediatheche, we can see many records about the earthquake collected from local people. Week 7

Although the Nature And Art Of Workmanship was written in 1968, it is still very relatable today. With all the technology that is coming out, like laser cutters, cnc mills, and three dimensional printing, it seems that the importance of workmanship is fading away. Workmanship is an art form, and is the essential piece to any creation, whether that be a building, a bridge, or a sculpture. The quality of workmanship is what makes the creation great. It does not matter how much time is put in a design, and no matter how perfect a design may be, it requires great workmanship for the whole project to be successful. With all this technology though, people no longer see workmanship as an important aspect of the process of creating an object or structure, because after someone designs something, they simply just send it to a machine that creates the parts to a creation, or creates the entire creation as a whole. One reason that the importance of workmanship is going away is that now people value quantity over quality. We strive mass produce as much as possible. To be able to mass produce and make a profit, people now use machines to create things and this eliminated the need for a craftsmen that had amazing workmanship.
